On the other side. Fran Hauser once said, if you take a risk and it doesn't go as planned, welcome to the club. And then Andy Christonia said, when creating content, be the best answer on the Internet. So you're a teacher. You've been a teacher maybe for years. Some of my students are teachers in the making. They're still a senior or a junior in college knowing that they want to be a teacher. Maybe you're at the end of your teaching journey. You've been teaching for 30 years. Or maybe you're just somewhere in the middle. What I know for certain is this, is that you love what you do.
B
But you don't love what the paycheck.
A
Brings in every single month. Because teaching is such a gift. However, we work so hard for so little and we all know that you're jumping through the hoops and you're doing all the things. And for me, it just wasn't filling my cup with what I thought I was going to get when I graduated from college. Although I love the students, I was wasn't leaving every single day feeling like, man, I love my job and I can't wait to go back tomorrow. And so I was watching this thing on the Blue Zones. It's a Netflix documentary. I've seen it a few times now. It's so good. But it talks about how people live the longest in the world. It's a unique perspective of the best places to live in the world that give you the longest life expectancy. It's called the Blue Zones. Check it out. And so what they found was something totally different than what everyone originally thought. Everyone assumes that in order to live a long lasting life, you must eat good and be healthy. And while yes, that can be true, they actually found that the people who live the longest have a set purpose or something to do every single day that wakes them up, gets them excited, and helps them want to tackle every day. Some people in Italy, they walk outside outside every single day at 5pm and they walk all of these stairs and their community does that together. Some people ride horses, other people have a garden and work with their hands. They create pasta or they create their own homemade bread. Every day, no matter what, until the end of their life, they have something that brings them joy. And I was thinking about when I started selling my teaching resources online. It gave me a sense of purpose again. It allowed me to take what I loved, which was teaching, and turn it into something super unique. It gave me that spark again that I used to have before the grind of every day, 7am to 4pm Just teaching. It gave me something like creating pasta or creating my own bread. Instead, it was just creating using amazing ideas that were already in my head or in my classroom and using that to put online with the hopes that I would make a few extra bucks. And I guess I should start by being completely transparent with you. I didn't make my teaching salary like I told you in the beginning. In less than one year, it took me three years to earn my teaching salary Because I didn't have anyone. I didn't know what to do. No one had ever made the pasta before or baked the cake or done the bread. I couldn't just go online or chat GPT it. I had to truly figure it out myself. And that's another thing is that even though there are people online that can help you, very rarely is there like this set path of you should do it this way, like creating the pasta or going outside and walking with your friends at 5pm up and down the stairs. Nobody helped me. So it took three years for me to figure it all out myself. I was googling things that couldn't even be answered. I was googling things that I didn't know to ask. Because sometimes you don't know what you don't know. I watched thousands of hours of YouTube videos and I sat on the floor of books a million in Valdosta, Georgia, reading SEO for Dummies. I was trying my best, but it was a slow go. But I was excited every day. I was waking up and I was excited. And so I want you to know that there can be a purpose to your life again. If you're feeling down and out, like, man, I went to school to do this and it's just not what I thought it could be. And replacing your teaching salary sounds like a need, something you have to do to live a life that you can enjoy so you can go on vacations or pay your bills, then this episode is for you. But also if you just want to live a more fulfilling life, this episode is for you. There are four steps that I can help you replace your teaching salary this year. And I know you may be thinking to yourself, but Kasey had just told me it took you three years. It took me three years to make enough money to replace my teaching salary. I made actually $88,000 in my third year. If you're on our email list, you'll see that come into your inbox to this week where I just talk about how I got from $50 a month to making $88,000 in three years time. And now our students are recreating that or creating their teaching salary of 35, $45,000 in less than 365 days because we figured out the formula. So first in the four steps to replacing your teaching salary this year, you have to find what's needed in the online space. So think about it as going to a amazing Italian dinner. You don't want to just show up with some sort that no one knows about. You really want to figure out like, okay, what does this family love? And how can I make the best pasta so that I have the plate that wows the family? Same thing goes with your teaching salary. How can I create the best lesson plans that are going to wow my teaching community and our teaching family? So I want you to forget scrolling through endless teacher resources, feeling overwhelmed, thinking, you got to do that. I want you to imagine a world where you're not just finding resources and figuring out how to recreate what someone else has already done. I want you to imagine your unique teaching style and the teacher you want to help to help you turn that into a thriving online business. So here's what you can do. You can look at what everyone else is doing and analyze other offers online. I actually encourage that. But don't get overwhelmed. Instead, I want you to ask yourself these questions when you see things like, man, I would like to recreate that. I want you to think, what are the strengths inside of this resource? What are the weaknesses? What are they charging and what kind of marketing are they doing? And then I want you to tell yourself, now, how can I do that better? You also have to really hone in on your unique selling proposition and your unique teaching magic. It's really not about what you sell, but how you teach it and how you sell it that allows you to be different and a heck of a lot more valuable. Another strategy that people often overlook is engaging in online communities. When you participate in online forums or Facebook groups that have a lot of teachers, you get to have your ideal customer right there in your hands. You can ask them questions, you can answer questions, and you can pay close attention to discussions as they take place. Another idea inside of the first step to replace your teaching salary is analyze trending topics. So ask yourself, what are the hottest trends in education right now and how can you leverage these trends to create relevant and valuable offerings? The more we research, experiment, and connect with other teachers, the easier it's going to be for us to find all of the missing puzzle pieces. Now, the next step to replace your teaching salary online this year is you must fix your mind and your sights on the prize. Dr. Stephen Covey said, you got to begin with the end in mind. And that doesn't mean scrolling through teacher gram and teacher talk and figuring out what everyone else is doing so that you feel overwhelmed and you can't get your mind right. You're not competing. Remember, you're join a movement. Imagine a community where you share your wins, you get expert advice, and you build a business that you love. What if your mind was set on I want to live a long lasting, valuable life where I can do exactly what I want to do and be rewarded for it. This isn't just about creating and posting pretty pictures or a pretty reel, hoping for the best. It's truly about your love for teaching and connecting your deepest desires to take inspired action and make them a reality. Action brings clarity and clarity produces results. If you're the praying kind, pray about what the future of your life could look like, where you're happy every day, you're living an abundant life where there is no lack and you get to just be a teacher again. Step three is you gotta track important metrics to help you stay on target. Now if you're like me, math is just not your thing. I can add, subtract, multiply and divide, but that's about it.
B
But what I also can do is track data.
A
It is an obsession and it is the secret sauce to very successful online entrepreneurs. But I see so many teachers gloss over it because you think to yourself, math's not really my thing. And I'm not talking about fluff numbers that don't actually move the needle like how many people viewed your recent Instagram reel. I'm talking about hardcore actionable data that tells you exactly what's working and what's not. We like to do a 90 day glance at anything that we sell online so that we can see, hey, if this is working, I want to do more of that. This isn't just about your vanity metrics. We're talking about things like tracking your emails, tracking your funnels, tracking your leads, and figuring out how people are coming into your world so that you can bring more people into this new beautiful world you're creating. And then step number four to replace your teaching salary online this year is that it's important you follow a step by step plan of someone who has gone before you. I told you it took me three years, but it's gonna take you a lot shorter amount of time because we figured out a way to help you stop making all of the mistakes that I made along the way. Because you don't have to do this alone. Now you can fast track your success and avoid costly detours that are gonna take you months off of your expected prize. And the way that you do this is by creating not just teaching lesson plans to sell online, but amazing offers. Maybe it's coaching, maybe it's selling an online course or creating a community membership. It's happening all across the Internet and in the online space. It's not just teachers pay teachers, which is the probably most known way if I'm being honest. But now you can list your resources like stickers or T shirts or creating blogs, everything that allows you to create an online storefront and a teacher marketplace. I know it can sound overwhelming and daunting if you haven't started yet, but you're on a content creation wheel every day in your classroom and if you have a proven system or a framework laid out for you, you can make money even faster. You should be getting paid for your hard work, your time, your energy. And you should be able to say, I want to live in my own blue zone where I wake up every day and I get to use my hands. And it may not just be creating a garden or going outside to walk at 5 or learning how to ride horses. Your new hobby could be this creative, energetic space of teaching and sharing it with the world so it may not show up in the form of going back to college and getting extra degrees to become an administrator or climbing the district pay scale.
