And artificial intelligence is going to replace so many jobs. It will make millions of college graduates wondering why did I go to college in the first place? It's interesting. When I go to these college campuses, sometimes I'll have some hecklers. At Long Beach, I had some hecklers whenever. And in San Francisco, whenever the topic of AI comes up, everyone gets really quiet. You can almost hear a pen drop or a pin drop. Even the protesters shut up when I start talking about AI because they know. These kids know. They're using ChatGPT to write their essays. They're using Grok to answer questions. Nobody knows what the impact of AI will be, but it will be immense. It could be really good. It could be really bad, but they know it. These 19 year olds on campus know that they are going to be disrupted. Despite all the ranting about trans stuff and open borders. When AI and that topic gets surfaced. Woo. They listen intently. We know that will replace a lot of jobs, but also could destroy a lot of expertise. What if nobody young knows how to write an essay anymore? That's the future that we are barreling towards. What if nobody knows how to do their own research? What if nobody knows how to think critically? What if nobody knows how to code? AI could basically destroy the expertise of a generation. However, the jobs that are a little AI proof for now until robotics do them. But honestly, robotics is still way far out from replacing these jobs. Human dexterity is going to be the hardest thing for AI to replace. And being conservative is very AI proof, amusingly so. We have job protection here on the Charlie Kirk Show. Just reading the news every day. I told this to a certain guy on cnbc. I said, you know that AI is going to take your job soon. Wonderful piece here from the Wall Street Journal. I had them printed out for us. But here's in the Wall Street Journal. High school juniors with $70,000 a year job offers. Companies with shortages of skilled workers look to shop class to recruit future hires. Quote like I'm an athlete getting all the attention from all these pro teams. This is not people with sociology degrees. This is not people studying communications. This is not people studying North African lesbian poetry. No, it is high school juniors with $70,000 a year job offers in Philadelphia. Elijah Rios won't Graduate high school until next year. But he already has a job offer, one that pays $68,000 a year. Rios, 17 years old, is a junior taking welding class at a Catholic high school. Employers are dealing with a shortage of workers. As baby boomers retire, they've increasingly become begun courting high school students like Rios. By the way, this is why we should not import cheap labor. This is a perfect example. If you import a bunch of cheap labor, yes, companies get labor for less. But then Rios would not be offered $70,000 a year. It's a perfect example of you restrict the labor market and high schoolers benefit. Now, mind you, Rios does not need to go to college. He doesn't need to get a four year degree. There are 11 million job openings right now where you can work with your hands. It's the muscular type labor that pay more than a living wage. 68,000 bucks a year. I know a lot of people that would want a job for 68,000 bucks a year. At age 18. No college debt, no indoctrination, no lazy river. 70,000 bucks a year. Jenny Cantrill, 18, is working at Canastrano. A plumbing and H vac mechanical contractor hosted her in his summer camp in Massachusetts. She credits the camp for piquing her interest in plumbing and accepted Castorano's job offer without looking elsewhere. I already had that connection, she says. That's right. This is a long piece in the Wall Street Journal that details how now kids are getting high, high paying jobs in the trades. If you can make $70,000 right out of high school right now, you most certainly should not go to college. And it's not just tuition, but it's your time as well. It's the compound interest of the extra earnings of those four years. But let me tell you the biggest problem, the biggest problem is not the kids. The biggest problem is not the trades. It's all of you listening right now that are parents that are afraid and ashamed of turning to your neighbors and saying that my kid is a welder. You as a suburban parent think that you are a failure if your kid welded does not go to University of Iowa. You, as a suburban parent think that your kid is a failure if it doesn't go to CU Boulder. That if you turn to your neighbors and turn to your relatives and you have Christmas and Thanksgiving and they say, oh, what is Elijah doing? Oh, Elijah's a welder. They'll scoff. They'll look as if you failed or you fell short. Parents stop making decisions based on the social currency from Snobbish, elitist, left wing socialites that act as if you need to make your decisions because you don't have the Stanford mom bumper sticker on your Lexus. Instead you should say, my kid has a $70,000 a year job with no debt, working with his hands, not indoctrinated, and he loves the country. Your kid is trans. I win.
