Hey, I'm Issa Medina, comedian and host of I'm Right, you're Wrong podcast, a comedy podcast about the everyday debates we've all had at brunch. Every week I welcome on a special guest the likes of Leo Gonzalez, Morgan J. Teffy Pessoa and more to talk about what they think is right or wrong. But mostly we banter, chismos, llamos and keep you company. Check out new episodes of I'm Right, you're Wrong podcast every Wednesday, anywhere you get your podcasts. They're not the same person.
B
I know what you mean. But they are the same.
A
Like he's going to. I get it. But. Hey, guys, welcome back to the Chismet Corner. I'm back with a very special guest. She's back and she's better than ever.
B
I'm back and I'm better than ever.
A
You excited? She was so excited she wanted to do a Christmas episode with me. I hope you guys are having a great week. I hope you guys are having a good holiday break. I know all the kiddos are on holiday break. God bless us all. She's like, have you been enjoying your break so far?
B
To be honest, I've been really bored.
A
Yeah.
B
Which is surprising cuz when I'm. When I'm at school, I'm bored too. So like every day I'm bored. So it's interesting.
A
Are you always bored? Because you're always doing things like you don't stop. So how are you bored?
B
I don't know.
A
That is crazy. I guess I can. I feel that way too because I feel like I do things all the time, every day, but since it's like routine, I'm bored of it.
B
Yeah.
A
That's what you mean.
B
That's me. Yeah. It's interesting because I'm always playing with the same exact slime every single day. And then it gets boring that I just can't do it anymore. And then.
A
But you do so many other things.
B
I know.
A
You make nails, you color. You do your duolingo. Yes, you do. You made those big long nail things.
B
Only at all. That's only at Allie's house.
A
No, you made those long fingernails.
B
Oh, those things, girl. I could get them right now.
A
I feel like I always see you doing creative things after I do my.
B
Homework and after I get home from school, I like, play with my slime. And then I like. I take the chill pill and I, you know, I just relax.
A
I feel like that just winds you down a little bit.
B
Yeah, it just like.
A
But you always have so Much homework and stuff. Like, we're always studying, and she's always got so much homework. And then she does other things on. You do, like, your. I ready? And I have her do, like, work on this math app that she has. So you're always doing.
B
I'm always doing something. Something along with cheer and drums.
A
Yeah. Well, we have to give them an update on the cheer thing because I told them what happened about the cheer gym, but I haven't updated them on where we're at right now.
B
Okay.
A
You want to update them?
B
Yeah. Here's my update. We're at different cheer gym. Yay.
A
We're at a different cheer gym now, and it's so exciting. So the cheer gym that I told you guys I was going to look at, they ended up taking the team. I think there's only, like, two or three girls that didn't come over to the new gym. Right. Which is okay. They didn't have to, like, change up their routine a lot. But I think the. The coach told me, though, that the routine is, like, a lot better. So I'm super excited to, like, see everything. And then they get to do, like, a few local competitions. I think you guys have, like, six. Six competitions that you guys are gonna do. Yeah, they're all, like, pretty, like, around in Delaware, so I'm so excited that you're still able to cheer. And, like, you guys are, like, at a really good, cool gym.
B
Yeah.
A
You, like. So what has been your experience doing there?
B
Well, I have a. Like, for the first hour of cheer, we have this coach, and his name is Coach Andy, and he helps with tumbling, so he does different stations with all the cheer. Like, all the cheer groups only on Friday, I think, because he said he's usually there on Friday, so. And we're like the Friday group of people of, like. We're like, one of. One of the cheer teams that go on Friday, so we see him every Friday, and he helps us tumble with tumbling, and he does a lot of stations to help our tumbling, too. And right now we are working on these things. Cut back, back, back handsprings. And I'm so close to doing it. So if I. If I get my back handspring by the. By the time all the competitions are over, I could go onto a different level of cheer with, like.
A
That's so exciting. Are you excited about that? You're all, like, almost there, too, because they sent me a video of you doing it, and he, like, was barely holding.
B
He was barely spotting.
A
He was barely spotting you. Yeah, it was awesome. I'm so excited for you.
B
I'm so excited. I think the only thing I'm really scared about doing that is that if I land on my head, you don't get. Because you're supposed to, like, jump into it.
A
I think you.
B
I was always so scared of that, like, never.
A
I know. I felt so bad, though. You were, like, so sad about the whole cheer thing. I was telling them that I was, like, so nervous to tell you about everything. And, like, I was kind of waiting to see if I can get you into the new cheer gym before I told you because I was just like, I have to give her some good news. Like, with this bad news, like, I didn't know what to do.
B
The good news.
A
How did you feel when I, like, told you everything?
B
I felt depressed.
A
Depressed. I know. You were so sad. It was so sad.
B
All the girls were like, that was like, the only thing I had, my schedule. That was like the only important, like, really, really important thing that I had in my schedule. So I lost it. And then it made me so sad because I love going to competitions and I love competing and being aggressive.
A
Well, now things are looking up. I know. Well, now you have so much to look forward to. Wearing a new gym and everything is good now. She still has her same coach and everything, so.
B
And I still have my Starbucks.
A
Yeah, we had to get Starbucks before this because we woke up super late today. Hold on.
B
Yeah, we woke up so late today.
A
I had my alarm clock set at like, 8:30, I think. And then I snoozed it to nine and then I snoozed it to 9:30 and then I snoozed it again to 10.
B
Mom, I don't care.
A
You don't have school or anything, so I don't have to worry about getting up. Dad's the only one that's been waking up super early every day. He's just wakes up every day, all the time. Like, super early.
B
Yeah.
A
He can't sleep in, so he gets up. He does all the things around the house. Like, I'm so happy I don't have to, like, really do anything. He does all the breakfast for us.
B
He makes our breakfast, like, every day.
A
Yeah, it's so. It's so good. So it's been a really good break. I've had, like, a nice break. And I can, like, sleep in. He lets me sleep in and stuff.
B
Finally. Yeah, finally.
A
It's been perfect. I love it. Are you excited for a Christmas?
B
The only thing that I'm really excited about is stranger things.
A
Oh, My God, we are so. I feel like I'm more excited for Vecna than Santa.
B
I know, right? No, because the new Santa is Vecna.
A
Santa better not be Vecna. That will break a lot of people's hearts. A lot of kids hearts. Oh, my God. Can we talk about the episodes, though?
B
Yes.
A
Do you want to talk about them?
B
Yes, go ahead. Okay, first. Okay, so the first episode of season five was just about them going on the Craw, and it was called the Craw, the episode. So obviously it's gonna be about a crawl, and they were just going to see if they. They were gonna defeat Beck, if they're gonna defeat. Oh, my God, find him and defeat Vecna. Like, finally, this would be like their last crawl. But then it wasn't. So it, like, backfired on them, and Demogorgon started, like, attacking everything. Like, they started attacking Hopper, and they started attacking, like, all these trucks that are coming because they were like. They had to get trucks to, like, deliver things. I forgot. I forgot what it was because that.
A
Was like, the only way they were able to get in.
B
Yeah, that was the only way for them to get into the Upside Down. And then Hopper, like, went to the upside down with 11, but 11 kind of snuck in because she was trying to look for Holly.
A
She had to.
B
Yeah, because she had to because this girl named Holly, she and her mom.
A
Karen, and her mom with her wine.
B
With her wine. Karen with her wine.
A
Karen with her wine.
B
Anyway, Holly was getting attacked by Demogorgons in her house while the crawl was happening, kind of. Right?
A
Yeah, well, they were already. Hopper was already there.
B
He was kind of, like, stuck there. He was just stuck there.
A
He kind of got stuck there. Because they lost signal, right?
B
Yeah, they lost.
A
Trying to find signal from him.
B
They were. They were trying to find signal with Hopper, but they couldn't find it because he was already, like, deep in the Upside Down.
A
Yeah.
B
So. Yeah.
A
And then when 11 saw that Holly was getting. Well, 11 and Nancy drove to. To Karen's house because Holly was getting attacked. Getting attacked by Demogorgon, and they knew they were there and Karen.
B
So.
A
So then when Demogorgon, like, left, he took Holly, and then there was an opening to get to the. Into the. So 11 just left.
B
She didn't take Holly. He didn't. The. The Demogrand didn't take Holly. She, like, went through herself.
A
Holly. Yeah. No, it didn't. He took her. They didn't show her walking through the portal, 11.
B
Yes, he did.
A
They did.
B
Yeah.
A
I don't Remember that?
B
Am I crazy? Wait, I'm pretty sure. I. I swear. I swear.
A
Took her. It was. It ended when. What you call it? When Nancy and Eleven got to the house, and then you saw all the blood and stuff, but they didn't show. They didn't even show him, like, taking Holly or anything. Oh, they just ended it with. When he struck Karen, and then it kind of changed to 11 and Nancy.
B
Yeah, it kind.
A
And then everyone just assumed. They knew that he took Holly. They didn't show. Holly didn't just go through that. She wouldn't just walk through there. She ain't crazy.
B
I swear.
A
The only one that walked through was 11.
B
Oh, well, never mind. Okay.
A
But, yeah. So, like, does Evan Morgan, like, kidnapped Holly?
B
Yeah. Yeah, we're not going to talk about that.
A
But, like, she's been talking to Henry. She's been talking to. Mr. What's it?
B
Mr. What's it? Which was Henry.
A
Yeah, Henry.
B
Henry, aka Vecna, aka 1. Mr. What's it?
A
Mrs. What's it? So many.
B
Like, so many names, right? So many names.
A
Like, why does he have so many nicknames?
B
He's a part of all this stuff.
A
It's a lot to keep up with.
B
It's so much. Oh, I love the final episode.
A
Oh, the final episode was insane. I screamed. Like, we screamed.
B
We did.
A
We screamed at our little hearts out. Because I was not expecting that. Like, I kind of was. Like, I feel like. I remember. I feel like Will's character development in the show was, like, very mild. Like, I feel like everyone had, like, so much going on and story lines and Will and then always just the boy that, like, was stuck in the Upside Down. Yeah, he was always that.
B
Just one kid that was just. There he is. Like, he. He always knew what was going on, but he. He was never in it, Like.
A
But I feel like they did that on purpose to keep him. I feel like they kind of did that on purpose because no one really knew what he was going through. Like, he had that inside of him for so long that it just kind of like. Yeah. So I think keeping him in the background, like, made it even bigger. When he decided on the last epis, like, he took charge. Like, he was, like, going. He was going up against his own mother. Like, he was like, no, Ma, we need to take. We're not taking the safe route anymore. Like, we need to take risks. And I was like, you go, boy. Because you know how Joyce is. She's, like, very.
B
She's very safe after what happens. Very protective.
A
So I love that he was finally like, no, we're not doing things your way. Like, we're gonna start doing things my way because I know what's going on. Like, y' all don't know nothing.
B
You don't know nothing. What happened? The Upside Down. You don't know nothing. Especially what just happened those five minutes of the first episode.
A
So, yeah. So I'm so glad that he finally just, like, put his foot down and was like, y' all are going to start listening to me because I'm the only one that has connection to this thing.
B
Like, exactly.
A
Hello? He knows what's going on. Hello. So when he finally, you know, his powers. The only thing different about him in 11 is 11 actually has those powers. Like, his powers are.
B
He is taking Vecna's powers.
A
He's not.
B
He's not using his powers. He's taking.
A
He's taking to Vecna in a way where he can take on.
B
Yeah.
A
Those powers. And I'm hoping he'll just use them against him.
B
I remember.
A
That's crazy.
B
I remember when we. When we first saw the episode, and I was like, he's the new 11.
A
Yeah. She was like, he's 11. That was so funny. We were, like, screaming, and then I was, like, crying.
B
You were crying?
A
I started crying because they were giving, like, the flashbacks of when him and Mike were, like, young, and they were, like, so little and cute. And so it made it look like, well, like Mike was about to die. So I thought that that's what was going to happen. And I was just like, no, you can't kill my. Kill him. I was so sad. So I was, like, freaking out. I started bawling, crying. And then all of a sudden, you just see the demogorgons in the air.
B
Only thing that. The only thing that I would kill about like that. The only thing, the only reason I'll kill Mike in the fourth season is, is because of his hairstyle. Because. Tell me why in the fourth season his hairstyle was like that.
A
His hair.
B
His hair.
A
What was wrong with his hair?
B
It was everything. Yeah, Mike. Or you mean Will, not Will he always.
A
Because Will had that weird bowl cut all the time.

B
He always had the butt cut. The bold cut.
A
The butt cut. The butt cut.
B
I did not say that.
A
He always had the butt cut.
B
No, it didn't. I said the bold cut.
A
I said.
B
But, yeah, that was you, not me.
A
Oh, my God. But, yeah, No, I don't. I don't remember Mike's hair. Whatever.
B
I think Robin's gonna die.
A
What are your theories so far?
B
Okay, Robin's gonna die. Vecna's gonna die. Because you know the theory that 11 plus eight. Plus. Wait, hold up. Yeah, plus one. Because, like, they rolled.
A
Because you have to roll a 20.
B
You have to roll a 20 to defeat back.
A
Like, in the game.
B
So you're gonna need. Oh, Jane 11. Yes, sister 11. Her sister, 8. And you're gonna need Will. So I think.
A
I don't think. My theory, though, is that. I don't think Will is gonna defeat Vecna. I think Henry is gonna defeat Vecna.
B
But they're the same thing.
A
Yeah, but Henry wasn't Vecna before. Like, he was a normal person.
B
He was a normal person, but then he is still Vecna. He can't. Like, he.
A
Yeah, but I feel like it's still a. It's not. I don't know how to explain it. Like, it's not the same. He. They're not the same person.
B
I know what you mean. But they are the same.
A
Like, he's gonna. I get it. But she's like. I'm gonna say this Nicely.
B
But they are.
A
I. But he's number one. Will's not number one. Yeah, but, like, so I feel like Henry can come to his senses and be like, oh, like, this thing inside of me, like, I don't want it to take over the world. You know what I mean? Do you get it?
B
Yeah. I feel like that would be bad, though. Like, I feel like. I feel like the Duffer brothers would never do that, to be honest.
A
Like, you know, why not? I feel like they would, if anything. I don't know.
B
I think that would be, like, a.
A
Bad ending to have Henry defeat his own self.
B
Oh, if you say, like, that is.
A
Crazy or, like, the thing that's, like, taking over him. I don't know. I don't know. I'm just. It's just a theory, because I feel like, obviously, 11, plus her sister, eight, and then you need a. What? You need 20 to defeat the game. You know, that's how it's always been in Dungeons and Dragons. So it only makes sense to me in my mind that the number one. Obviously, Will doesn't have a number. He's not even a part of that.
B
True.
A
You know, like, he's not. I don't think he's gonna be the one. I really don't.
B
You really don't? Yeah.
A
So I don't know.
B
Everybody knows Will's gonna die because I.
A
Think he might help. I don't know.
B
I think he's gonna risk his life for, like, Mike or something, maybe.
A
But I do feel like I do think Robin's gonna die, too. I think she's gonna die. I think she's gonna die defending her girlfriend. Yeah, I think so.
B
What's her name again?
A
I don't know. I don't remember a lot of, like, the side characters I know.
B
I only know, like, Chrissy and Eddie.
A
Yeah, same. Because they were, like, the best.
B
Oh, my God, they were the best ones.
A
I miss Eddie and Fred. Oh, yeah. I love Fred. Wait, Fred or Bob? Who's Fred?
B
Bob. I love Bob.
A
Who's Fred?
B
Fred.
A
Who's Fred?
B
Nancy's detective partner, kind of.
A
Fred. I don't know.
B
Fred from season four.
A
The little goof. He was, like, a nerd.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, that. He got killed by.
B
He got killed by that, like, in.
A
The middle of the road.
B
I remember that. That's Fred.
A
Oh, my gosh.
B
I can't believe you don't remember Fred.
A
He didn't really impact on me. He didn't have, like, an impact. He was only in, like, what, a few couple episodes? Well, he I guess he was in that season, but he wasn't like, in a lot of. He didn't have a lot of air time, so I didn't. Wasn't really, like, interested in him.
B
Yeah, I still loved him, though.
A
He was pretty cool.
B
He was really nice.
A
Barb. Barb was an original. She's an og.
B
She's an og.
A
Like, she still gets me till this day. I'm still sad that she died, you.
B
Know, like, why'd you have to kill her? Like, you should have been a better friend.
A
It'd be so cool if Nancy, like, finds her in the Upside Down.
B
Yeah.
A
Or something. Or. I don't know. I guess she can't anymore because she's like long gone, but because they, like, tried to find dead. Yeah, she's done. So I think they made it clear that they're not bringing Barb back.
B
Brothers are not bringing.
A
They're not.
B
She's been here since the first season, so.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah, she's not coming back. If anything, her body's disintegrated.
A
I know. Well, I'm super excited. That's what we're going to be doing on Christmas. I'm getting. I'm going. Actually, I'm going to Walmart today. I don't know if you want to come with me, but I'm going to get a whole bunch of. Okay, well, I'll go by myself. So I'm going and I'm going to get like a bunch of snacks for our snack board because I told the kids that I was gonna do like a good snack board for us. So they're like, looking forward to it. So I'm gonna go do that. And then I have to get some stuff for Christmas because Christmas Eve is tomorrow. And we celebrate on Christmas Eve because we Puerto Rican. You know what I mean? So we do our whole big party on Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day is like, we just chill. The kids, they play with whatever they have. They open whatever they have all day. I'm like organ. I organize stuff, I put stuff away.
B
On Christmas Eve, we usually open one of our Christmas presents.
A
Yeah. We do Christmas Eve at 12 o'. Clock. Mama and my sister and my. We give the kids one gift to open.
B
One gift.
A
Either they can use it like that night or like it's pajamas, something small. And we let them open it. And then.
B
Yeah. And then the big surprises and all the stuff is coming.
A
Yeah. And then usually I get the kids like some gifts. Like I. I get them gifts, but Joe always does, like a big.
B
A big gift.
A
Well, like an experience. So he's the one that he does. He takes care of, like, the big experience. And y' all are gonna. Your pants this year, first of all, because I was like, I'm freaking excited about it. But y'.
B
All.
A
Y' all are gonna. Y' all are gonna be so excited. Like, y' all.
B
A taser.
A
No, like, it's an experience. Like, it. But it's so. Oh, I've been wanting to go for so long.
B
Oh, my God. I know what it is. What are they? Tickets to the Stranger Things Broadway thing.
A
I can't tell you if it's. I'm not gonna tell you if it's yes or no. Like, I'm not telling you anything. But y' all gonna be. Y' all gonna wild out. Y' all gonna be.
B
Go crazy because you've been talking about that Broadway.
A
I have. I wish. I would like to. The tickets are really, really expensive, but we'll see.
B
I'm pretty sure it's all about, like.
A
It's a lot about Henry and, like, how he became Vecna. I think that's, like, it's not about Nancy. I'm so.
B
I'm. I was talking about the book for a second. Sorry.
A
No, not that.
B
Not the book.
A
But yeah, we're going to do, like, a big. Joe always surprises them with, like, either one big gift for both of them or. Or he'll do, like. Well, we. We like to do experiences together. So last year, what did he give. He gave you guys the.
B
We did give us an. And the VR and some games.
A
Yeah, that was really.
B
And then you also. You also got us. And we never really play with it anymore, but you also got us the little.
A
The old school Nintendo set like we have. Yeah, we should play that today. I want to play some Mario Party and Mario Kart. You know what I want to do? I want to put that in the living room, actually, because then we can play it for, like, Christmas Eve, because I feel like it's in the den, and it's like, we don't pay attention to it because we're never in the den. Yeah, the den is like, the dogs. Like, the dogs basically live in the den. Like, no one goes in the den. That is, like, their space. That couch is their couch. Like, that's their room, basically.
B
Yeah.
A
The only one that's ever in there is dad, because that's where his office is and, like, his computer. But no one is ever in that den. So I think it's like a. Don't. We don't see it so we don't pay attention to it. So I'm gonna move it to the living room so we can start playing with. Because we have a lot of good games. We got, like, Mortal Kombat on there. We got Mario Kart. We got part like, the Mario Party. Like, we've got.
B
We got a lot.
A
A lot of good games. And it's the OG like, the original Nintendo.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it's so freaking cool. I'm excited. Yeah, I'm gonna. We gotta do that. I'm gonna change it. But, yeah, that was a really good gift. And then one time we did. Where did we go? I forgot. Well, he just likes to do, like, experiences mostly. Like, for your birthday, he took you to Broadway to see Wicked. Well, he took us all, but he took us all. That was like, your.
B
Your gift. And then he also took us to a water circus. Oh, my God. For my. Oh, yeah. Your birthday was so much fun.
A
Yeah.
B
And you guys are never good.
A
They went together. I didn't go.
B
You gu. You guys are never gonna believe this.
C
Is it just me, or has watching TV gotten way too complicated? There are a million different services and too many bills to keep track of. Thankfully, there's Philo, A better way to TV. There was water there at the water Circus. Oh. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
A
That was a cute thing. Yeah. He was like, I really want to take her. I was like, I think you guys should, like, go by yourselves like a father. I wasn't really interested. Honestly, I didn't really want to go. But now I regret it because they came back and they were like, it was so awesome.
B
And I was like, it was really cool. Next time it had a bunch of circus people and base. Well, of course, but. Well, yeah, of course.
A
I hope so.
B
Yeah. But there was this rotating thing and this guy was jump rope. I think it was a jump roping thing. He started jump roping on it while it was spinning. And then he did backflips. He did, like a backflip on it while it was spinning.
A
Couldn't pay me enough.
B
No. And then also this one guy, like, slipped off and then he landed on his back and then we felt. So I started cheering for him, but then he. He kept going and he kept going. And it was one of those things where it's the little rolly thing and then it has the, like, wood.
A
I know.
B
You're supposed to stand on it. Yeah, he was doing that and then he fell off and then he landed on his back and then he told everybody that he was okay. So he started doing it again. Yeah. But then they, like, lifted up the stage and underneath was, like, a little fountain. And it was so cool because obviously it's water. And it was a water circus. What a beast. Lapper. Anyway, and basically. And basically, when all the people were getting ready, they would have this one guy come out and, like, I forgot what he would do. Like, I. I can't explain it, but it's like he would, like, make a little, like, a funny joke or something. Or he would just, like, have a little scene to do before. Like. Before.
A
Yeah, to, like, make it entertaining.
B
Yeah, to make things entertaining. I can't really explain it. I don't have.
A
You have, like, a dust bunny on your thing. I was, like, wrapping some gifts yesterday and stuff, and I forgot that. That I got this from Old Navy. So I was like, oh, my God. Like, that's something that I usually do a lot. Like, I'll go shopping for other people and then I forget that I buy myself things.
B
I know.
A
So I had this and, like, this cute, like, pullover. It's like a fleece, like wool. Like, such a cozy, like, little jacket. And I totally forgot that I bought it. And I was like, oh, my God. I know.
B
You're crazy.
A
I know.
B
You're so crazy.
A
I know.
B
You're like. You're mental.
A
I'm just like, I can't stop shopping. Even when I shop for other people. I'm, like, still shopping for myself. It's so bad.
B
A couple days ago, we were playing our little Scream game, and we were watching Scream while we were playing it. And then we're also playing Taco Cat goat cheese pizza with dad, and he was always the last one, and he, like, got all the cards.
A
I love that game. Taco Goat cheese pizza.
B
Taco cat. Goat taco.
A
Cat, Goat cheese pizza. I have to think of like, what games we're gonna play on Christmas Eve and then I have to like get the stuff for it. Cuz you know how we're always playing like fun family games?
B
Yeah, we're usually playing fun.
A
Remember that toilet paper one that we, that we did? I still. I was looking at the video the other day and you and Titi and you all had me cracking.
B
Wait, I forgot it.
A
It's like you have to. There's like a roll of paper and you, you have to like put it on the. No, you're. There's. It's on the floor and you have to stack it up. But you can, you can only use your knees to pick them up. Remember I'll have to post a video because it's so funny. Like the toilet paper is like four or five toilet paper rolls on the floor and you have to grab the toilet papers and stack them all together. But you can only use your knees. Remember we did that and it was so funny. I have videos of like everyone doing it. So hilarious. And then we also have the one where you. We're like blindfolded and we have to scoop up the, the, the. The. No, not the little bows. Like the gift bows. And we have to put it in the, in the thing and we can't see. Yeah, the little bows that you put on gifts. Oh yeah, the sticker bowls. So they're so light. Like you don't feel.
B
You can't.
A
That you're like picking anything up. So you're just like blind. You're just like blindfolded and you just go it like this. And then you feel like you're probably picking stuff up, but you're not. Like, so your bowl is like probably not full. That was so funny.
B
Next time.
A
I did really bad on that. You did use your hands. Like. You're such a cheater. You're a sore loser when it comes to games. You are. You have to admit it. You have to. You have to come face to face with this act. No, I'm sorry to tell you. You are. You are. She is such a sore loser.
B
No, I'm not.
A
Yes, you are.
B
No, I'm not.
A
You be so mad when I'm.
B
When I'm at school and we're doing like competitions for. At gym. I never get mad when I lose.
A
So why you get mad here? Like when you.
B
No, don't.
A
You do though. You be getting mad sometimes.
B
Maybe not to the Starbucks.
A
Maybe not as Bad. I mean, maybe you're getting better, but from what I. Every time I see you be losing something, you get like, you got a little man. You be getting a little.
B
It's just me.
A
I'm the same way, though. I can be. I can be. I'm just a pretty, pretty princess.
B
Princess.
A
I'm just a girl. What was it. What was the. We were saying the other day? It was so funny. I'll be forgetting, like, all the little funny things that we say. We're always.
B
I feel like out nowhere, I'm always funny, but when I'm trying to be funny, I'm not funny.
A
Because you can't try to be funny. It has to just come out naturally.
B
But, like, that's just, like, who I am.
A
I hate people who, like, try to be funny because you can tell they're trying too hard. Like, naturally funny people. It's gonna hit every time. Yeah, but you're like, I think you're naturally funny. Every time I do an episode with you, people are always saying how funny you are. If that makes you feel better.
B
You know when I was. When I was in the bathroom, Remember when I was. I was like, when you caught me talking to myself in the mirror?
A
Oh, my God.
B
Yeah.
A
Today I heard her all the way from my room. Like, I heard you talking to somebody. So I was like, oh, maybe Joe's in there. Like, because he goes into her room sometimes and just.
B
I was talking to myself.
A
So I was thinking, dad was in there with you. And then I was like, wait, dad wasn't even, like, home yet. So I was just like, what the hell? So I went into her room, and then she's just, like, literally having a whole conversation with herself, and I. And I'm like, is she talking to Su? Like, who is she talking to?
B
I get bored.
A
She's like, I'm just talking to myself. Like, if I'm doing my own podcast episode. Yeah.
B
And basically, I was in there. And then when I was doing my intro. Yeah, When I was doing my intro, I was like, come, come in, Mom. Come here. And then. And then I was like, hold up. It's gonna take a little second. She's kind of old. It's okay.
A
You call me old.
B
I was like, she's a little bit old.
A
Just yesterday you told me I looked like I was 16.
B
I was pretending.
A
No, you're not. Don't make me cry. Oh, well, we have to. We were talking about how. Because Bibi was like, oh, now that I don't go to that other cheer gym, Anymore. Like, what am I going to do over the summer? Because usually she would go to summer camp there with all her friends or whatever. And I was like, girl, like, I can't think that far ahead right now. Like, I don't. I'm not thinking about that. Like, we're still in winter. It's December. Like, I'm not thinking about what we're doing in June, July yet. But I was like, okay. I was like, how about you work for me?
B
And I have my own allowance. $100 per hour?
A
No, I don't even get paid $100 per hour. Like, you gonna get paid what I pay you?
C
Is it just me, or has watching TV gotten way too complicated? There are a million different services and too many bills to keep track of. Thankfully, there's Philo, A better way to TV. For as low as 33 bucks a month, I get the channels I love. MTV, BET, Food Network, you name it. Plus everything that AMC has to offer. And guess what? They've added access to hbo, Max Basic with ads, plan, and Discovery plus, so I can enjoy all the best TV with one subscription. There are no contracts, no surprise fees, just one low price. And their DVR is awesome, too. I can save everything I love for up to a year and skip the ads when I rewatch them. A total game changer. I signed up directly at Philo TV. That's P H I L O TV. And if you subscribe today, you can get $8 off your first month. Philo's the easiest decision I've ever made. Now the hard one. Deciding what to binge next.
B
So $10 per hour.
A
We'll talk about it. We have to talk about that.
B
But my allowance.
A
You're not gonna be working by the hour. It's mostly gonna be, like, by day. Like, I'm not paying you by the hour. I'll pay you by day. Like, the day that you work for me.
B
Oh.
A
But it's gonna be, like, an everyday thing.
B
Oh.
A
Like, Monday through Friday. So I'll probably give you, like, a set number that I'm gonna pay you every week for the summer.
B
Well, what would my job be?
A
Well, I told you the job would be. You have to help me with the podcast. So, like, we can. You can help me, like, make tick tocks and, like, reels and stuff. We can create ideas together because you're very creative. But the whole thing was, like. She said that she likes. She like content creation and stuff. She wants to, like. Well, I told you. I was like, oh, I feel like you would be Such a good content creator. Because yesterday she was just so funny. And the way she was, like, talking, the way you talk about your skin care and stuff, I was like, I would watch this. Like, if I was a person, like, watch. I would totally watch this on Instagram or whatever. So I was like, you would be such a good content creator. And then, I don't know, we just got into that, and I was like, you should just work for me for the summer.
B
And, like, I remember I was like, get some experience. I remember it was just this one part. Yesterday, after I got the shower, I was like, I'm gonna be. I'm gonna have my own YouTube account.
A
Yeah, well, you've always wanted your own YouTube account, but, yeah, you need to be a little older for that. But I feel like, to prepare you now for, like, if you do want to do content creation in the future or you want to do YouTube or whatever it is. Like, get creative with whatever job you have. Like, you're gonna have to use social media, you know? So I feel like just giving you the experience and, like, working with me and, like, seeing how, like, I can teach you how to edit videos and stuff like that. And, like, it would be so much fun because I think you would be so good at it. So I'm gonna hire. So she's gonna be my intern for the summer.
B
I'm not sure. Yeah, only if I accept the job, because.
A
Okay, you don't want to accept the job.
B
No, I do. It's just, like, it's gonna be so tiring.
A
No, it's not. I'm not gonna have you do too much. Like, I'm not gonna take away your summer. But if you're gonna be home doing nothing, you're gonna help me.
B
Okay.
A
And then we can podcast together, too, if you want. Like, not all the time, but, like, some episodes.
B
Yeah, I remember from your last podcast that I used to do, you only let me go in there once.
A
Well, you get to come on here.
B
Whenever, so I get to come on here whenever. Cause this is my house now. It ain't hers. It's my house.
A
Yeah, right.
B
It's my house.
A
Okay, well, you heard it here first, but, yeah, so she's gonna be.
B
I pay the rent. I pay the taxes.
A
That's how you know that you don't pay. Because it's not rent, girl. It's mortgage.
B
Oh, I paid the mortgage.
A
I don't even know the mortgage. I don't pay no mortgage. Let Daddy take care of that, okay? I did have something that I wanted to talk about.
B
Okay.
A
I guess. Yeah. You're here so you can. You can chip into to the conversation.
B
Okay.
A
So you know how I don't. I'm not like a religious person. Like, I don't really believe in God.
B
I actually didn't know that.
A
You didn't know that?
B
No.
A
Well, I think that's a good thing because I don't ever try to steer you away from your beliefs. But, like, I really don't. I don't know. I don't believe. I don't believe that there's not something out there. I just don't believe that we've never found it yet.
B
Like, you don't.
A
No, I just don't believe in like a guy in the clouds looking out down on us. You know what I mean? Like, I believe in something. Like, I believe in a higher power. I believe in.
B
Yeah.
A
Something. But I've never. I just question a lot. So I wouldn't say I don't believe at all. Like, I'm not like that kind of person. But I am very. I'm more spiritual than I am religious. But you're. You're. I don't know if I would even say you're religious, but you do believe in God?
B
I do believe in it, but I wouldn't say I'm really religious because I don't go to church. To be honest, I wasn't really interested.
A
Well, I never really went to church when I was young either.
B
Yeah. My church is just not my thing.
A
Yeah.
B
First time I went there, I kind of liked it, but it was not really my thing.
A
Dad said you. You, like, liked it. But then I also. When she was young, I had her in. It was like a preschool, like a daycare. And it was. They would like pray with you guys and teach you about God and stuff like that.
B
To be honest, I was kind of like. Like I would. I'm not like disrespecting or anything. Yeah, it's just like I was really into, like, religious types. Like, you weren't even. Yeah, but I get it. Just not like one of those religious types.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. I'm like, not.
A
No, I totally understand. I think a lot of people will understand that. A lot of people will get what you mean. And we're not this not. It's not disrespectful.
B
It's not disrespectful.
A
It's just. That's you.
B
Yeah, it's just me. It's my personality.
A
I think you're kind of like me a little bit. Like, you're a little more spiritual. Yeah, but I think you do your beliefs go a little bit deeper than mine. I think.
B
Yeah, mines are a little bit deeper because I do believe in God.
A
She does believe in God and dad does and, but you guys. But even Dad, I don't. He's not like a religious, super religious. He doesn't go by the b. Like we're not, we're just not like that. Like we don't go by the Bible and things like that. I've never grew up like that.
B
I have a Bible but I just never used it cuz it was like you had to have one at most.
A
Yeah, I remember.
B
Yeah, so I have it. I just don't really use it. I don't use it.
A
I don't think I've ever read the Bible or anything.
B
No, I've never read it. I've, I've looked at it but I've never read.
A
I had one when I was little and my grandma, my, my grandmother, my godmother actually gifted it to me and it was, I think I read it but it was like the kid version. It was. I've never read like the actual, actual Bible but I know like some, I know about it and I know thing and I know there's like plenty of different like versions of the Bible and things like that. But yeah, I've never really read it but I think when I was, when I was young, like my dad remarried after mama and his wife was a Christian. So like when I grew up we were all Catholic but we weren't really like my mom was never a religious Catholic like that. But my mom believes in God. Like everyone. It was kind of like a thing like in the family like everyone believes like we all know you believe in God. Like you like they're religious, whatever. But we didn't really practice it much. Yeah, but it was kind of like if you grew up around it, you take it on and like you have to be. So like I, as I grew up I was just, I started questioning everything more and I was like, well I don't really believe, I don't really believe all of these things, you know, Like I started kind of questioning things a little more.
B
Yeah, like it's fine to question it because not like not everything will make sense about it. Yeah, but it's like exactly. Yeah. Like none of it really makes sense. That's why some people just don't believe it.
A
But yeah, yeah, it can go either way. But yeah. So my dad, when he remembered she was Christian so she like went to Church every Sunday. Everything in the house was about God and the Bible. Like, so it was a huge change for me, like, from going to Mama's house to, like, going to his house. It would be like, everything I did was like, God doesn't allow that. Or like, you can't do this. I can't dress like this. I can't wear this. I can't. Like, it was just, like, a lot. So I think that also kind of took me away from wanting to even be religious because I was like, wow, this seems really judgmental.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, I felt judged a lot of the times when I would, like, go to the church and everything, also because I was, like, not her child. Like, I was a stepchild, you know? So when I was getting. When I was there, she was with her friend. Like, it was my dad. Like, her kids. Her kids were already known in the church and stuff like that. So I'm, like, just coming in, and I was always looked at as, like, who is this girl? Like, I was looked at, like, as the black sheep. And I always felt really judged at that church. So I think that was my first time that I. Even as a young girl, I caught on to that, and I was like, wow, if this is what religion is, like, I don't. I don't like it, you know? And I know that's not how all churches are. Like, I've even been to churches after that as a grown adult, and they're very like. Like the one that Joe that Dad goes to. They're so open. They're so cool. Like, yeah, like, they have tattoos and they, like. You know what I mean? Like, they're not very. They're not judging you by, like, your lifestyle and, like, how you live and, like, how you choose. Like, I. So I love that. Like, that's something that I can get.
B
Behind the church that dad and I went to. Like, it didn't matter if you had. Like, it didn't matter if you had piercings. It didn't matter if you had. You had a tattoo on your arm. And it. It didn't matter. Like, they just all went there because they believe in it.
A
Everyone just wanted to go and hear, you know, hear something that, like, resonated with them and hear, you know, and just like, I. I like that. So I don't know. The other day, I was just thinking. I was like, if I'm not religious and I don't believe really in. In God, is it okay for me to pray?
B
Yes. To be honest. Yes. Everybody can pray.
A
Yeah, you're smart. You're a smart one. Because I was, I was on the edge. I was like, I don't know. I mean, I guess I know I can pray, but I'm like, is it like looked down upon or like, is it like someone looking down on me? Like, girl, why are you praying for? You don't even believe. You know what I mean? So I was just like, no, it.
B
Wouldn'T be like that.
A
I know, but I asked, I asked chat GPT and this is what it said. So I'm going to tell you guys what it said because I was just like, wow. Like, it really made me feel really good. Okay, so it said a thousand times. Yes. Praying isn't owned by religion. At its core, prayer is just connection. Connection to yourself, to hope, to something bigger than the moment you're in. You don't have to belong to a church, follow rules or label yourself as religious for it to be real or valid. A lot of people who aren't religious still pray because it's a way to release what's heavy. It helps organize emotions when life feels chaotic. It gives comfort when there aren't words for anyone else. It's a moment of intention, surrender or grounding. And it says you can pray. Like talking out loud in your head or saying, please help me get through this. You can ask for peace, clarity, strength and protection. Thanking the universe, God, ancestors, energy, whoever's listening, literally just sitting in silence and breathing. It says, there's no wrong wording, no script, no. You must exactly believe this. If it feels comforting, healing or calming to you, that's enough.
B
Yep.
A
And I was like, wow, that is awesome. Yeah. No, I'm glad that you said that because I was just like, okay. Like now I feel. I used to, honestly, I would feel guilty to like pray.
B
Really?
A
Yeah. I used to feel guilty because I'm like, why? Like, I, I guess because I just correlated praying to religion.
B
Where before, like after you, you would. What's called after, you would like, say goodnight to me and tuck me in. I would always say a little prayer. Like if I had a test on Friday.
A
Yeah.
B
I'd be like, please just like, help me get through the test so I can get like a grade or something.
A
Yeah.
B
And yeah, I would always just like say that or something. And then. Yeah. And then I always. When I got that turtle, I. I would like make it as my good luck charm. So now I have it as my little good luck. Like, I'm probably gonna take her to my competitions. That little turtle, the little crocheted one.
A
Yeah. So you love your little crochet turtle.
B
Ever since I got her, it was, like, really nice. It was really calming. So I always have her having a little good luck.
A
Oh, I'm glad you have that. So you pray still?
B
Yeah, I still pray. You pray a lot.
A
So when you pray, do you say dear God, or do you just start praying? How do you start?
B
Like, at the end? I say, like, at the end. I would say, like, in Jesus name, amen. But in, like, in the beginning, I would. I would just start praying. Yeah.
A
Okay.
B
I still pray, though. Yeah.
A
Well, I'm. I'm surprised you never knew that. I didn't really believe. I don't know. I'm always confused when it comes to that because. Just because I don't believe in, like, one person, like, a thing. Like, I just think there's so many things that made. That made the earth and, like, everything. And there's so many things that we don't know and, like, that aren't explained. And, like, I don't want anyone to feel a type of way because I'm sitting here saying, like, I don't believe in what they believe in, you know? Like, I think I respect everyone's religion, everyone's background, everyone's beliefs. So I don't want to be judged on mine.
B
You're definitely not. Don't worry.
A
But it's hard because it's like, people be like, no, you need God in your life. And it's like, well, I have. Not necessarily that. Like, I have other things in my life that I, like, contribute to. Like, blessings and I'm grateful for. And, like, I feel like I'm really. I feel like I'm really connected to, like, my ancestors and, like, the universe and whatever that is, you know? Like, I feel really connected and really protected. So whether if that's a God or whatever it is, like, I'm thankful for that, you know?
B
Yeah. So the only thing that we should be questioning is which one came first, the chicken or the egg?
A
That is a question that you should ask. What do you. I don't know. I have no idea. I can never answer that question.
B
The egg.
A
Yeah, but where does the egg come from?
B
But, like, where does the chicken come from?
A
Where does the egg come from?
B
Where does the chicken come from?
A
Like, they gotta come from somewhere. You can't just snap your fingers and have a chicken there or an egg. That's why it's crazy. Like, there's so many things that you question. It's like, how did that get there? Like, what is. What do you mean, like, it's so weird.
B
It's the same for everything.
A
Like, yeah.
B
Where did seeds come from? Where did soil come from? Where the grass come from? Grass came from soil, but soil came from. Wait, what?
A
Where? I don't know. Like, who created all of these things? But, yeah, I just wanted to share that because I was like, I think anyone who need. I think there's a lot of people around this time who can hear. Can hear this and resonate and know that it's okay. Like, you can pray. No matter what you believe or who you believe in, praying is always going to get you through life. Like, and I feel like now, like, I started praying a lot more now, and I can feel like I feel better. Like, I feel happier. Like, I feel like I have some. Like, I don't know. I just feel connected to whatever it is I'm, like, directing my energy to and talking to. Like, I feel like it's helping me.
B
The thing that you're directing to is the chicken or the egg.
A
Oh, my God. Bye. I can't.
B
Well, I need to stop.
A
We need to end this podcast. That was a good note to end it on. We're going to get ready.
B
Questions? Was that.
A
No, that was the only thing I really wanted to, like, really talk about. And then Christmas and Stranger Things with you.
B
Yeah, Stranger Things was a blast. It's going to be a blast.
A
So on Christmas Day, that's what we're going to be doing. We're going to be watching.
B
I'm definitely going to cry.
A
Stranger Things. Getting our tissues ready. I have to. After this, I have to. I got to go to Walmart. And then I have to edit this.
B
I want to go to Walmart with you, but I want to go Walmart like this.
A
Go ahead. Okay, I can go like this, too. Oh, you want me to go in mine? We just go in our PJs. Yeah, it.
B
We just.
