I know the world feels heavy right now. Cheese mosas. But we're leaving the drama out there and bringing the cheese man here. Welcome to the Cheeseman corner. I'm your host. Viva your Latina amiga and go to Cheese Most offer all the chisme that actually matters. Latina motherhood, beauty. Navigating life in our 30s and keeping our mental health in check. We're keeping it raw, relatable, and a little spicy. We'll also be getting into pop culture topics today. Yes. And all the best reality show tea. Because to save, I love me some tea. So get comfy because the Cheeseman starts now. Okay, girl, eyes and boys. Because I know, I know y' all guys be listening to this. I mean, I had some men come in here. Like, girl, I listen to your podcast too, and I'm like, yeah, hell yeah. Before we get into today's episode, though, I just want to take a quick moment to acknowledge what's been going on in the world. It's been really heavy. There's been a lot going on. I know every time I'm going down my timeline, I'm seeing something negative, I'm seeing something dark. I'm seeing something that is just completely with My mental health, and I'm sure everyone else is in the world. It feels really heavy, really dark, really lonely. And I just want to say it's okay if you've been feeling that weight on you too, cuz, girl, same. I'm sure we can all sit here and say it's been. It's been a rough few weeks. It really has been life. Life can be a lot. Sometimes life really be lifing. And it's okay if, like, you just haven't felt like yourself lately, cuz I can say I'm in the same boat. So please, chismosas, mi amorcitas, mi amigas, my loves. I love y' all down. And I just want to make sure that y' all are taking care of yourselves. Take care of you first. Step back from the news if that's what you need to do. Check in, check in with your people. Check in with the people who check in with you. Drink your capacito, get you a little sweet treat. Whatever makes you feel a little better. Something that makes you feel a little more grounded. Because your peace, it has to come before anything else. I know me, I'm one to talk. I. I have a lot of anxiety, and I'm. That's just how being alive is for me. Typically, I just live with anxiety, but I know it's definitely increased by, like, 10. But you got to keep yourself. Got to keep yourself grounded and just take care of you, okay? Promise me y' all are going to take care of yourselves and your family and your loved ones. Because if not, we're going to be fighting. We will be fighting. Okay? Anyways, that being said, today I wanted to bring a little lightness. I wanted to bring a little escape, and, of course, a little cheeseman, a little gossip. You know how we like it over here. We can talk about what's going on in pop culture and just remind ourselves that joy still exists out there. Okay. Even in the smallest ways. So we're gonna get into all the things Carol G. Making history at Coachella, which is like, hey, a full circle moment for this podcast, because I started my first episode talking about her, and she has really. She has brought her a game. She has been doing her thing, and she's just. She's really an inspiration to me. So we're gonna get into Bad Bunny and his Latin Grammy nominations, Shakira, breaking records again, some Love island updates, Cardi B, her new album, her new pregnancy announcement, and just so much more. So let's get into it also. I don't know. Let me Show, y', all, if you're watching this on YouTube right now, first of all, hey, YouTube is where it's at. If you guys have not watched on YouTube, I highly suggest you can look me up at the v. Rivera on YouTube. It's my personal channel, but I post all the Cheese My Corner episodes on there. And you guys DM'd me so much about this cup, this little cafecito conchisme cup. And I actually got it. It's from a little boutique on Instagram. It's a Latin owned. It's a Latina owned business. And it's called so Bonita S E W, like so, so bonita. And I ordered it because I can't even tell you all the amount of dms that I got saying, v, you need this cup. You need this cup. Like, it's so on brand for the cheese and corner. And I was like, fuck, yeah. Like, hell yeah. So I got it, and now I'm drinking my little coffee from it, and I love it. And I just want to say thank you all, because y' all put me on, and it's so freaking cute. So, yeah, if you're not watching the YouTube video, go check out the YouTube so you can see the cup that I'm talking about and just see all the visual tools because it's. It's fun over here. It's nice to watch podcasts, like, visual podcasts. You get to see expressions. You get to see, you know, a lot of things. That kind of brings the podcast more to life, I would say. But I. I had to let y' all know that I got the cup. Okay. It is secure. The cup is secured. And she's here with us now at the Cheese My Corner. Also, this is my birthday weekend. Like, it's Friday, and I'm going to be celebrating my birthday this weekend. Of course, when this episode comes out, it'll be Wednesday, so it'll be long gone already, and I will be 34 years. But I'm super excited, and I feel like the more I'm, like, in my 30s, the more in tune I am with myself, if that makes sense. Like, I feel like I'm just getting such a hold and a feel of who I. Who V is and the things that I love and what I love to do and who I love to surround myself with, and it's such a beautiful feeling. My sister and Shauna are taking me to Hot Pot. They're taking me out to lunch, and then we're gonna go to the mall because I want to do Some shopping and stuff. And Vivi and Joe are actually staying mind, which I was like, I already know how this goes, because first of all, I'm a Virgo, and I. I'm very bad with surprises. Like, bad in the way that I know that they're coming. I can figure out a surprise. Like, you cannot surprise me if you wanted to. Like, I pick up on cues. I pick up on every little thing, and it's a blessing and a freaking curse because I. I'm not. I'm one that really can't be surprised sometimes. Like, last year, Joe got my best friend to come down here, and I have her location on my phone, and I already knew she was coming because she had turned off her location. And he sent his mom to, like, take me to the mall. And it was like this. It was so random because me and her haven't been out, like, to the mall or anything or somewhere far. Like, he made her take me somewhere a little further away. Like, 45 minutes away. And I was like, this is random and not weird, but it was just. It was out of our element. So I already knew when I got back home, something was going to be waiting for me. So I knew something was going to be surprising me there. And it so happened to be my best friend waiting there for me. And I was like, you. I knew you was coming cuz you didn't have your location on. And she was like, I told you she was going to notice. She already knew, too. I was like, I always check my. Her location, she checks mine. Like, so. It was so funny. But I just feel like I can be surprised, so I feel like I'm just not. I'm probably going to get back home and they're going to have something for me, which I'll feel like a benda. I'll come on this podcast next week and tell y' all if I'm an idiot. And, like, I come back home and there's ain't here, like, ain't popping. I would feel so dumb. I'd be like, damn, like, they really hate me. No. But I even asked my sister. I was like. I was like, oh, can Vivi come? Because I didn't. No one had made plans with me. So I'm thinking, okay, this weekend I'm just going to be on my own. And then Joe comes to me and he's like, next weekend we're going to go out. Because me and Joe's wedding anniversary is two days after my birthday. It lands on the 23rd. My birthday is the 21st. Of September. Our anniversary is the 23rd on my mama's birthday. But we usually celebrate my birthday and, like, our anniversary together. So he's taking me to the taco. It's like a food truck taco festival, whatever. And then he's also taking me to a comedy show, but he's like, that's next weekend. So this weekend, I basically is like, can do whatever the I want, you know? So I asked my sister. I was like, next weekend, can you take Vivi? Because we're going out to, like, the taco food festival, whatever. And she was like, yeah. And then I was like, oh, and do you want to come with us to hot pot this weekend? Because I'm going out. Like, I'm just making plans. And she was like, me and Sean are already taking you. And I was like, what? Like, who was gonna tell me this? Like, I'm over here making plans for myself, because I didn't think no one had plans for me. So, yeah, it just became this whole thing. And I was like, well, can I take Vivi with us? Because I told her I was gonna take her to hot pot. She hasn't been yet. And I was like, oh, like, let's go. Like, let's go for my birthday. Like, it'll be a fun experience. And she was like, no, she has to stay behind with Joe. So I was like. She was like, it's just gonna girls thing. So I was already. I'm. Yeah. So I'm just putting two and two together. But I don't want to. I don't want to get my hopes up, and I also don't want to up any surprises for people because I hate when I do that. Like, I feel like I just be everything up. Like, my big ass mouth and just my. My intuition, like, that it messes me up because it just takes away from surprises and stuff for me. But I am excited to have some girl time. Okay, so this is something I wanted to get into. Too bad. Bunny just announced another date that he added so to his residency in Puerto Rico. And it's on. It's the day before my birthday, so it's on Saturday, which is perfect because we were like, oh, we'll just have drinks. Like, we'll watch the concert. Vivi's excited because she didn't get to go, so we're gonna watch it. And I was just like, wow, wow. Like, this is gonna be a great birthday. Like, what a great birthday gift to me. So we're gonna be doing that. And I'm just. I'm super excited to just have a chill, you know, birthday weekend, and just have some fun with my girls, my husband, and have some drinks and watch this Bad Bunny concert. And speaking of Bad Bunny, I wasn't going to start with this, but, I mean, we're flowing into him and he's on the list of topics that I wanted to talk about anyway, so why not? Bad Bunny has talked about his decision to skip U.S. tour dates over his fear of ice, which I thought was really just so noble of him. Like, it's just such a thoughtful thing because he's right. I mean, this is a huge tour and you already know it's going to be flooded with Latinos all. All over the freaking place. So he reportedly avoided scheduling mainland US Tour stops because of his fear around the ice raids. And I thought that was just so real of him. And that is a huge place to be able to come and raid. And it would take away from so much. It would actually. That would piss me off if that actually happened. Like, I would be so livid. And I know he would never forgive himself if something like that happened at one of his concerts. And, you know, a lot of people were like, oh, this is a political stance. Like, he doesn't want to do it in US. Like, he wants it to be strictly for Puerto Rico because, you know, it's for the people and for the culture. And I was like, well, you know, he's tournament in the United States before. He has a huge fan base out here. So I didn't think he was purposefully being like, oh, I'm gonna. I don't want to tour in the US Because I just don't fucking want to. So this makes a lot more sense to me. When I heard this and I thought. I just thought it was. It was great that he thinks about things like that because a lot of. A lot of people don't. So kudos to Bad Bunny. Give him a round of applause. Because the man is just. I feel like he sets bars and standards every fucking day of what it is to be a Latin artist. And he's just. He's really. He's really doing it. Like, he's doing what the fuck he came here to do. He also got 12 nominations for the 2025 Latin Grammys. Another round of applause. What a time it is to be boricua right now. Like, so he's reclaiming the top spot after Edgar Barrera had held it. And that is something. That's really something. Could you imagine being nominated for 12 Latin Grammys? It's like, out of those 12, you got. You got to win at least one, right? Like, he's gonna win something. And I'm. I'm manifesting this for him, and I hope it does happen for him. I will be tuning in. Let me know if you guys will be tuning into the Latin Grammys, because I sure as hell I love the Latin Grammys. I love the performances. I actually like this, watching this, the. The Latin Grammys and, like, the Billboard. I think it's like the Billboard Latin Awards or something like that. I do love watching it because it's just full of culture. There's a lot of great performances all the time, and it's just something that I think everyone should. Should tune into. So let's give it up for him, man. He's been. He's been really working hard. Like, I can't believe I always say, like, I don't know how these artists go on tour for such a long amount of time, and it's just back to back, and it's got to be so hard on your body, your mind, your spirit. Like, it's an experience for us that. That they're giving to us. So I can't imagine. I just. I don't think I could ever be, like, a star like that. Like, I get tired after one night out. Like, I was literally just thinking, I. I go out for one night, and I need, like, three to four business days of rest and just to reset. So imagine doing Friday, Saturday, Sunday tour, and then you only get maybe, like, two, three days off, and then you're still working in between those times, and then you have another back to. Back to back tour dates. Like, I could sign me out. Like, I could never do that. So I applaud all the artists that are constantly on tour and giving us these experiences and these lifelong memories to, like, hold on to forever. It's just. It's a beautiful thing. Our girl Carol G is headlining at Coachella for 2026. Round of applause for this woman. Give this woman her flowers, please. Karoji is set to make history as the first woman Latina to headline Coachella. Do you know how big that is? Do you know how big that is for us? Please give us a second to just embrace this, because when I used to look at Coachella years ago, it was always. It wasn't something that usually caught my attention. I'm not really much of a festival girly, either. We have a festival here in Delaware. Well, they don't do it anymore, but they used to do Firefly here a lot. And it wasn't something that I was ever like, really into. They've had some really big stars there too. Like, they've had Post Malone. They. They have some good artists there. But I'm just not into festivals like that. And I love. I just love how lately I've been seeing more Latin artists and more of the. They're bringing the culture there. And I just. I really do love it because I feel like it's so nice to get a mix of different things at a fest. You can have your Spanish and your Latin music there, and then you can also have your rap and so many different genres. And I love that about a festival. Like, I can definitely with that. I actually love that Coachella's adding Latina representation. Karoji is really doing her big one. She dropped her album a few months ago, Tropical, which is. It was a really good album. It's full of different sounds as well. I definitely love it. I love that one song that she has, Papacy don't like. I. She has so many different sounds and I. I just. I with her. And I just love that she's always doing something different, but in the process still staying true to herself and her roots. Like, I just. I admire that a lot about her, so I'm really happy for her. Congratulations to Kato G. And I can't wait to check out the performance. I won't be there in person because, like I said, I don't. I'm. I just be scared to go to these festivals. Like, I don't know. I'm just not a festival girly. I got. I got anxiety and I'll be feeling claustrophobic. So. But if you guys. If any of you guys are attending Coachella, please record that performance for me. Send it to me. I would love to see that. Shakira also has a new record and she's got her upcoming Global Citizen performance. Shakira recently won Best Video clip at the MTV video Music Awards 2025. That just passed, becoming the Latin artist with the most VMA awards, which is insane. Could you imagine being a Latina artist and having the most VMA awards? Like, girl, her living room gotta look insane. Like, I'll be over the moon. And she's all. And so she'll also be headlining Global Citizen in Central Park. I love this kind of career revival for her. I kind of feel like Shakira went to the shadows a little bit over the past couple years, and then obviously she popped back up in the media when that whole thing happened with her split from her husband. And honestly, I felt so bad for her because I feel like Shakira is just such a. She's such a beautiful soul, and she's never in the headlines for anything bad. She's always giving back, and she went through a lot of. But her comeback has been so much stronger. And I think that's how you know you. You can't let these win. You can't let them bring you down. That girl is. She is booked and busy. Okay, so kudos to Shakira. She's definitely doing her big one this year. And she also does have a song. She collabed with Garo G. And I think it's her second to last album. When I tell you those two are a force it. They definitely are. They should do, like, a collab album. I feel like that would be so dope. I don't feel like we get collab albums anymore. And those are always real bangers. Like, they. I feel like, especially with Latino artists, like, we need some more collabs. Do you remember the J. Balvin and Bad Bunny collab? Like that, that has no skips. Like, the whole album is fire. So we need to have that in with women. So I think Karo G and Shakira would be the perfect combination of that. Oh, that would be so fire. I just. I love that. So let me know what you guys think about this. Let me know what you guys think about Karoji headlining and being the first Latino woman to headline Coachella. Let me know what you think about Shakira and her. Her career revival and becoming the Latin artist with the most VMA awards. Oh, it's not just Latina. It's Latin artists in general. So that's. That's really cool. I'm gonna take a quick break. Oh, I'm gonna take a quick break because the cafecito is coming out 10 hours later. Coffee? I can't even tell you. Like, that goes out just as fast as it came in. I'm over it, but I will never stop drinking it. But anyways, I feel like we're on this. This wave of beautiful, successful women. So I'm going to jump into Cardi B. Okay. Cardi B. Hey, neighbor.

We got some tea on Cardi B. Well, this is. This ain't t. But she finally, finally let us know that she is pregnant. She is pregnant with her fourth child from her new boo, Stefan Diggs. Now, of course, we don't know shit about these people, right? We assume, we see things that we see on the media, we run with it. That's how it is. But I feel like you can almost tell when a woman feels safe, when she feels loved, when she's at peace. And I see that when she's with him, I feel like she feels, I feel like she is definitely in a safe space right now. She seems very happy, so I'm happy for her. You know, she, she warned Offset plenty of times. We've all seen this man beg for her back time after time. We've seen him, we've seen him do it on stage and he still up, he still decided dumb out there is more important than what the I got going on at home. And I will never respect a man like that. You know, I do hope he moves on and betters himself and I hope he does find love too. But I just want Cardi to find it better. Cardi to me, seems like a bitch that really holds shit down. Like when she loves, she loves with her whole heart. And she seems like a loyal ass bitch. Cardi is very authentic, very genuine to herself. She doesn't try to be anything or anybody that she's not. And these are the vibes that I've always got from her from day one, even watching her before. Love and hip hop and Just her. Her stories and her being funny on Instagram. Like, she's just always been Cardi B. So congratulations to Cardi B and her boo. Step on Diggs. I really hope it works out for them. I hope she gets the little fairy tale that she so truly deserves. She'd been through some shit. You know, she had that civil lawsuit recently by that security guard that was trying to get a payday. Let's call a spade a freaking spade. She alleged that Cardi B assaulted her back in 2018 just outside of a Beverly Hills medical building while Cardi was pregnant. She sought out 24 million in damages, and she lost. A Los Angeles jury cleared Cardi B of all allegations. She was found not liable on all counts. And that's where y' all have to stop around with Cardi B. Y' all gotta know this girl. Her legal team, when I tell y', all, Cardi's legal team do not play when it comes to her. Why do y' all keep trying her? That's got to be a lot to deal with while you're pregnant. And she indeed was pregnant while that was going on. So I hope she has a healthy, happy, smooth pregnancy. I know there's a lot of people out there saying, damn. Like, she. She got pregnant so fast. Like, she's moving on too fast. Who are we to tell anybody to move on at any type of speed? Like I said in one of the last episodes, like, it don't matter if you know somebody or been with somebody for 10 years. You could find somebody tomorrow, and they can give you everything and make you feel all the things that you've always wanted, and it could last. Like, I don't think time is an indicator of how you live your life. So let me know what you guys think about that. Let me know your thoughts on Cardi B and her new pregnancy and also her new album. Her new album just dropped. And actually, before this episode, I said, I'm gonna listen to it all the way through because I wanted to give my thoughts. I already knew I was going to be touching on Cardi. So I was like, I have to listen to this album. I have to do my due diligence, and I gotta listen. So I listened to it, and let me tell you, Cardi B, round of a pause. I understand why she took so long to put this album out. Cardi's the type of that. I don't know what's her sign? I need to look up her. Her sign or one of y'. All. Let me know what her sign is. I can just Google it after this, honestly. But she said, you know, y' all coming for me, I' ma come for you on my own time. And that's exactly what she did. So she just released her sophomore album, Am I the Drama? It's got all the visuals, man. Just letting people know I'm back, I'm coming back, I'm here, and I'm. I'm at the top. Like, ain't nobody's gonna take that away from me. So there's 23 songs on the album with features from Janet Jackson, Tyler Cash, Cobain, Lor Lordes. I've actually never heard of this artist. L O U R D I Z Lordes. That is actually one of my favorite songs. So I need to check in on her. Lizzo, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Selena Gomez is on this album, y'. All. And that I. I didn't skip a track. I didn't get bored. I kept wanting more. When it ended, I was just like. I replayed the whole thing. I really think she did her big one. Like, I'm really happy for her sophomore album, and I. I understand why she took some time. She wanted to. She wanted to address, you know, that she was beefing with. She did address Bia on one of the songs. This is actually one of my favorite songs on the album. Pretty and Petty. I'm trying to look up some lyrics so I can tell you guys what she says on this song, because it's. It's. It's pretty and it's petty. So she. I' ma just imma just rap a little. Imma just rap a little bit. Because I. With this song so hard she goes pop in by a bag Is the only thing that I do Every time I pray I thank God I'm not you and I didn't know that Bia. Actually, if y' all don't know who Bia is, she's another rapper. She's got a few songs. Like, I wouldn't call them hits. Like, I don't really be like, oh, put on that beer. Like, I'm not that. I'm not on that type of wave. But I've listened to some of her songs, and apparently she talked about culture, which is like, when you with the kids, you gotta tone it down, babe. Like, you. I feel like if you don't with me, don't with me. Like, talk about me, I can handle it. I don't give a. You ever talk about my kids, it's over. Like, you will never. I'm coming for your neck every Time I see you, she goes, I'm Cardi B. Shorty. Who you want to be Shorty? You from Boston. Let's have a little tea party. Like, what? I was just like, holy. It's just. Her flow on the song is just like. It makes you go like, oh. Like, if you were listening to a battle rap and you hear her say some like that to her face, like, you're gonna be like, ah. Like, that is gonna go crazy. If you listen. Listen to Pretty and Petty, and you're just gonna feel like you beefing with everybody. Like, you. It's. It's up, and it's stuck forever. She also has the first song that starts off with Summer Walker called Dead, and it kind of gives me get up 10 vibes, and she does make a reference to get up 10 on that song as well. And I'm really glad. I'm really happy that she opened up the album with that song. It is. It is fire. I love the way it opens up, too. This is one of my favorite lines from this one. She goes, be doing, and I'd be letting it slide, and I don't be bringing it up. Be out here telling lies about me, and y' all just be eating it up. But when I drag her to hell, Cardi, you evil as. I cried 300 days last year, and none of y' all called me up. And, like, those tears that ran down my cheek, y' all about to be salty as. Yeah, she's just. She's just going in on these songs like she's coming for everybody. Bodega baddie. Oh, Bodega Baddie is definitely a banker. That's something that I'm gonna be playing all the time. That's definitely a song that you go. You walk into the bodega and you hear that, and you just immediately start to step in like, oh, my God. She really killed it with that song. I love Bodega Baddie safe with Kehlani. I don't know if y' all remember from her last album, you don't hit my line no more. Kehlani killed it on that. Like, that song was my. That whole album was my. But that song, I think we all played that song out so hard. Like, this is kind of like, gives those vibes. I will say I like the other song better from the other album with Kehlani, but this one they did. It was really well done. Man of your word. Man of your word was definitely a dedication to Offset. You could tell she's really vulnerable, really raw, really in her Feelings on this song. Y' all want to know how she really feels about Offset? Listen to that song. And it actually made me tear up because I just felt her. Her hurt. Like, you can feel how she feels through that song about him. And then, of course, you got Outside. That's one of her singles that released during the summer. Better Than you with Cash Cobain is really good. On my back is for the lover girls. Okay. If you in love and you like getting your back blown out, this song is for you. It's my. It's definitely my kind of vibes. Cardi B really makes music for people who, like, when you got to remind yourself that you're. That this is your reminder. This album. I would rate this album, like, a 8.5 out of 10. Recently, I watched this documentary on Netflix called Unknown Number the High School Catfish. Bruh. When I tell you, my jaw dropped to the damn floor. Like, what if you have not watched this documentary, I. You have to watch it. Especially if you're a mother. If you are a mother, it's going to piss you off. It's going to piss you off. But it brings up so many questions. Like, I'm going to talk about it a little bit. So if you want to skip through this, I advise you maybe skip through this about five, six minutes, because I'm going to be on this for a little while. If you want to hear about it, keep. Let's talk about it. Okay, if you've watched it already, let's talk about it. So in October 2020, Lauren Licari, she was 13 at the time, and her then boyfriend, Owen, started getting really strange text messages, Anonymous text messages from a number that they obviously didn't recognize. And it was coming by the dozen. Like, they were getting 50 to 100 text messages, like a day, harassing them. The message. The messages have stopped for a while, but then they started up again, and in September 2021. So for over 15 months, these poor kids were receiving harassment persistently. And when I tell you the. The worst thing about it is that the texts were so graphic. It was, like, nasty, like bullying, but also sexual. Like, it was very, very, very disgusting. So because the messages that they're getting are so personal and just straight up nasty, they immediately assume it's somebody we know, right? It's somebody that knows us. Somebody that's maybe in our circle, Somebody that's very close to Lauren. It has to be. So the parents and all the school officials, they get really alarmed, you know, and they start doing their due diligence. They start checking out, you know, talking to everybody who they may know and questioning them and things like that. And then eventually law enforcement gets involved and let me tell you. And then an FBI liaison gets involved. Is that how you pronounce it? I think that's how you pronounce it. So they do everything. They investigate how the message are being sent. Like they're tracing digital footprints. They're. They're checking IP addresses. Like they are going in. They're going to find out what's going on, who's doing this to these kids. You will not fucking believe who they find out is sending these text messages. Kendra Lakari, Lauren's mother. Her goddamn mother. Her. Her mother. Her mother is sending her and her boyfriend these. Her. These volatile, nasty, disgusting, harassing ass text messages. And it gets into detail. Like it shows actual text messages in the documentary. Like, I'm not gonna say what they are because it's honestly disgusting to me to talk to little kids like this. So they have body cam footage of the sheriff going to the house and telling them, listen, we know it's you. We've got. We've got all the receipts. We've done all of our research. We know it's you. Like, you can't back down. So she eventually, you know, she confesses. She was arrested in December 2022. She pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking a minor sentenced to 19 months to five years or something like that in prison. But she was released on parole August 8, 2024. And the. The weird thing was that when Lauren was there in the house when she confessed and her mom told her it was her, and I assume that the daughter just has, like, I think she just literally was in such shock, she had no idea how to react to the fact that her mom was doing this to her. Like, that's the only thing I can think of, because it's your mom. Like, that is. It's so disturbing that she was keeping this a secret and doing this to her own daughter for that long. Literally sleeping under the same roof with her and sharing things with her. And for you to send out those nasty, disgusting text messages and to make your daughter feel like. Like she was bullying her daughter, telling her like, she's ugly and all of these things. Like, I was just thinking to myself, I can't. And as a mom, I get pissed even thinking about somebody bullying my baby or doing anything to my baby. You do anything to my baby, it's fucking like, you better fucking pray to whoever you pray to. You forever have a villain in me. Like, I will forever be the devil to you. But she took it just so, like, okay. I don't know if she just expects that behavior from her mom or just wasn't surprised, but the initial reaction from her was very telling to me. And her mom was, like, hugging her. And like, after she told her she was just hugging her and she was hugging her back. And even in the documentary, the mom's like, you know, she's almost trying to make excuses for her behavior or trying to make it seem like it was okay. She was like, you know, people get. What was this she said? She said something about, like, people getting. You know, people drive drunk all the time and they don't get caught, or, like, I don't know, she was making some type of reference that was like, basically, like, I just got caught doing it, you know, and it was just so weird. Like a weirdo. A true fucking weirdo. She is. I don't even know why she chose to be a part of the documentary we could have done without. Like, she just. Weird. Like, it gives some of her perspective, but it doesn't even dive deep into her mindset or, like, why? Why would you do this? Why? And they're still denying, like, there was a. She claims that the first text messages that came in was. Were not her. Like, when it happened, when it started popping back up and happened again how I mentioned that that was her. So it's like, no, the first time it wasn't me. Then who the was it? Everything was traced back to her. Everything. There's not another person. So it's like, own up. Also, there were so many people that were falsely accused of doing all of that. And, like, friendships were up. Like, people's mental health was really messed with in that high school. Like, I feel really bad for all the kids. Like, they were really pointing fingers to a lot of the kids and everything. And it was like messing. Messing up their mental health. So I don't know. It was just. It was a really up documentary. Like, when I was thinking, like, I. I don't know what I was thinking, but I was not expecting it to be the mom because also in the beginning, she was teaming up with the other. With the boy's mom to figure out who did it. So it's like you're here acting like you're trying to help, and you're the one doing it. Like, oh, my God, you got to be some type of stuff sick. Like a manipulative. Like you're a con artist. Like, that's what you are. Like, to Go that far to do some. Like that is really. Like, it's. You're sick. Like, that's a whole another level of sick to me. So yeah, if you guys have not watched the documentary, watch it. Because there's a lot of things that I don't hit on. Like, there's just a lot. It's a lot. But moving on. The Summer I Turned pretty where are my lovers? My where are the summer I turn pretty lovers? Because, oh my gosh, I cried. I cried. I don't think I, as a 34 year old woman would ever be entangled in a fucking love triangle between three teenagers. Well, now, I mean, they're not teenagers anymore, but when they started, they grew. They all grew up together. Like Veli is like just their little friend and they all go to cousin's beach together every summer. She spends the summer with these two brothers she falls madly in love with. She's always been madly in love with Conrad, but. But she also has a thing for Jer. And it's like, I never thought I was going to get sucked up into these. These lives of these kids, but I started watching it a long time ago. And they just came out with a new season this year, so. So there is a book series by Jenny Han and they turned the book series into a television series on Amazon Prime Video. This has just truly been the highlight of my summer. Every Wednesday I look forward to watching it. And Jesus Christ, poor Conrad is just clinically depressed this whole season. But God help him, he does. You know, it does end the way I wanted it to. And it's just a beautiful series. I think if you really want to cry. I don't necessarily cry really with books or. Well, that's a lie. I did. I do cry with some books, but it has to be really hard hitting. Like I'm barely a crier is what I mean. So when I watch a show and I cry, like ugly cry, that's how you know it's good. And I think this was a good relief for me to watch every week. I was always deeply feeling something, some kind of emotion. There was just. It was a roller coaster of emotions. And I knew Belly would make her choice and I knew, you know, the news is out now. Everything is out. So I'm just gonna say it like, she ends up with Connie. But I really was. The way it went down, I was not expecting it. I was thinking they were gonna. I thought that Jenny, I thought they were really gonna change it up from this, from the books and they were gonna try and do some. Like, Belly's gonna find herself or she's not gonna pick any of them. And I was like, no. Like, no, she cannot do that. She needs to be with Connie. So I'm glad that we all got what we wanted. And then they also just announced that they're making a movie, a Summer I Turned Pretty movie. But Jenny had said it will not be released next year. So I'm thinking maybe 2027. We have that to look forward to. But I'm excited because at the end of the series, they only ended it with some pictures of her and Connie spending. Spending Christmas together in Paris. And it's like, I wanted a full compilation. Like, I wanted to see Wedding kids grandbabies. I wanted to see them at the house. I wanted to see Jer with the grandbabies. I wanted to see them all as a family. I wanted to see Belly thriving. I wanted to see Connie smiling. That's what I wanted. But they didn't give that to us. So I guess hopefully in the movie we'll see a lot more. I also really like that Jer and Denise got together. Like, I thought that was really sweet. I really was surprised with the last episode. I thought we were gonna all be pretty disappointed. But I was really, really happy with the last episode and how it ended.

And I cried. I bald. I bald my eyes out. I would have never thought that. I feel so deeply watching these. These kids fall in love with each other, but it definitely is. There's a lot of life lessons that you can learn, I think, too, when you're watching a series like this. So a lot of lessons on love, you know, life, family, everything. So if you haven't watched Summer I Turn Pretty, it is on a prime video. So you. I highly suggest starting from the beginning or even reading the books. Yeah, just a very, very, very awesome series. I really loved it. I enjoyed it. I have so much other stuff on here, but I'm just gonna end it with another series that I've been watching. And y' all know I don't. I don't play. Wait. Actually, no. Before I get into this, I want to talk about Love island, because I don't know if you guys are Love island girlies, but I am very much a Love island girly. And can we talk about how Iris and TJ are finally back together? Like, okay, I don't know if y' all watched the last season of Love island, but she ended up with Pepe, and they recently broke up. I'm pretty sure Pepe was being a little sleaze bag. He was being a little sleazeball. He sure was, because ain't no way, like, she's dropping you like that. Like, he did some. I know he did. They didn't. They didn't go really public with it, which I commend them. Not everybody really needs to know your business or whatever, but he probably did some sleazy ass. Iris seduces. I'm out. And she got with T. She got back like, tj.
A
He.
B
He was not playing. You could tell that Iris was always. He was just waiting for his baby girl. He was like, I'm wait. I'm just gonna wait for my baby girl to realize she don't need to be over there. She need to come over here to big papa. Like, that's what he was doing. It made me so happy because I was such a stand for them during the season. Like, I really love Iris. I fuck with Iris. I think she's a beautiful girl. At first, my first impression of her was, like, she was a little Bland, a little boring. Like, I was just like, she's not going to be like, someone that I'm like, really interested in. But over time, just something really caught my attention about her and I was like, yeah, like, I fuck with her. Like, I really like her. She was so unproblematic and just so, like, drama free. But also really, she's just so cute and like, just a real girl's girl. You could tell. So I started really, like, really liking her and I got really interested in her story and like, what she's, you know, who's she gonna choose? Like, who's she gonna end up with? So when her and TJ got, when TJ got sent home, like, while they were coupled up, like, I. Oh my God, my heart just hurt so bad for them. Like, they had just went into soul ties and they were like, you know, like, really building that connection. Like, I really thought they were gonna see it through to the end. Like, I thought they were gonna both be finalists and there's just something about them. You can tell that they have a really good connection and they complement each other very well. I thought they made a really beautiful couple. But he got sent home and then Pepe was there for her. He, like, sweeps, he swoops in a little bit and he takes over. She ends up really liking him. So they get coupled up and of course she's gonna see it through. Like, that's what you got to do on Love Island. But she sees it through a Pepe and then they get out of the villa and she's still with Pepe. And I was just like, girl, like, no, go get your man. Go get your real man. Like, so I think we were all waiting for it and they just like, hard launched the fuck out of their relationship. Her and TJ recently at New York at like a New York Fashion Week event. So I, I just had to talk about that because I was so excited. Like, I love me some tj. I think he's so cute. Like, I follow him on socials and he's just so funny, but he's just so, like, he just really gives golden retriever energy. Like both of them do. Like, they are both golden retrievers and I think they're just made for each other. So I hope that that relationship lasts. The winners, Brian and Amaya have split up. Like, I think every, like, most of the couples have split up aside from Ace and Shelley and Nicolandrea. Y' all gotta tell me what y' all think about Nickelandria. I'm afraid if I voice My opinion, y' all gonna be real mad at me, but I don't. You can't bully me into thinking that that is real. I just don't feel it. I mean, maybe. Okay, so this is what I'm thinking. I'm thinking that they got out of the villa and they're. They're coupled up. I'm thinking they're like, hey, let's see where we can take this. You know, I don't think they got out of the villa like, oh, we're so in love and we're a couple. And like, didn't see any of that. I didn't see any of that in their, their, their language, their. Their physical connection, anything. And even the first time that they kissed to try and see if something was there, they made it very clear that there was no, like, no connection like that. So that's what kind of sways me too. I'm just like. I don't know where this connection is coming from or if they're just trying to keep up this facade because of, you know, it's just the show and everyone's shipping it and even his own parents, like, it's a little creepy sometimes because his parents are such die hard fans. They' cakes and blankets and. But I mean, to each their own, you know, like, if they love them, if you love it, I love it. But I just, I could not get that feeling out of the show that it was real. And then now you just don't really know with all the brand deals and all. I'm sure they're making bank and they're collabing on things. So it's like, are they just kind of like, let's keep this going, or are they really in the process, like really getting to know each other? Like, I don't know. But I do know Nickel and I know Nick is obsessed with her. That is right off the bat. I can tell. I just hope it's reciprocated, you know, because I think her type, she did say that her type was, you know, like a country. A country man. A tall, dark, handsome, you know, So I don't know. I just. I don't know. But I'm hoping that I, you know, over time, I don't have anything against them. I think they're. They're cute and I hope they're getting their bag and stuff. But I'm still. I guess I. I guess what I'm saying is I'm still not convinced. So if y' all want to convince me, go ahead. Like, I'm I'm all for it. I like to hear people's take on this and stuff, but. So they're still pretty much going strong. I know she came out with her infamous lip combo. She did a little collaboration with NYX Cosmetics. It sold out three times back to back. So congratulations to. Hola, man. Like, she is really doing it. Like, I have. I love her. Like, I think she's a strong, beautiful woman. I wish nothing but the best things for her and Nick, too. I mean, whatever. I'm not much of a fan of Nick. Like, I just love her. But that's why I'm, like, I'm hoping this is genuine because I want the best for her. Do you know what I mean? But, yeah, Ace and Shelly, they're still going strong. I don't really have, like, a lot of opinions about them. Like, I do think that they are like, that they really like each other, and they're, like, you know, trying to explore the connection fully after the villa. Like, I think he really likes her. Like, I feel like that connection was one of the strongest, whether people want to admit it or not. I really thought that they had something there, and they obviously still do. So congrats to them for still going strong. But a lot of the other couples, like, they're not. Oh, and Taylor and Clark. Taylor and Clark are still together, but I don't really like Taylor. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna, like, sugarcoat. I never really with him like that. I don't like the way he did Olandria. Like. Like. Yeah, I'm just not much of a fan of him. And I feel like he be, like, kind of throwing Clark under the bus sometimes, like, trying to make it seem like he's spending all this money on her. And he had made a comment not too long ago about, like, taking bags back that he bought her. And I don't. I don't like when men do like that. Like, that's some. That's boy. Like, I really don't like that. So I don't know his character, and, like, the things that he do, the things that he says, like, online towards her, like, throws me off. So I. I don't have much to say about that, but I know Clark needs to drop her that makeup routine. I don't know what she's. What. What she's stalling for, but she's a freaking beautiful girl, and I hope we. I want to see more of her. Like, I want to see more of her. I want to do. I want to see her do things Outside of him. Cuz right now I feel like she's been doing all these collabs with him and stuff. Like they did like that one Arby's thing and she's been really holding it down with him. But I want to see her as an individual, like away from him. But yeah, TJ and AR is back together and I'm really happy about that. And then they also just started the Love Island Games. I believe this is the second season. Correct me if I'm wrong, I have not started watching it yet. I think they're like two episodes in. But I'm going to start because I want to see. I wasn't really like intrigued by all the. By the people that were on that are on the show now. But I think I'm just gonna watch it anyway just to see what it's about. So I'll let you guys know if there's anything interesting there. But there is something interesting. I don't know if you guys have heard about the show Beauty in Black, it's on Netflix. It's a Tyler Perry drama. So you know, it is drama filled, baby. Like it is so drama filled. The acting is a little. Could use a little work. But I'm telling you, the drama and the story just makes up for it because you cannot look away. It is chaotic. Like it is the most chaotic thing I think I've ever watched. Like as a series. It's just back to back to back. It's just non stop things happening. Like I can't imagine living my life like this. Like these people really. All right, I'm gonna give like a little summary because I don't want to like up every. I'm not gonna up like the story for y', all, but just to suck you in, to let you know that you need to watch this. So this is a Beauty and Black season two. But it's giving. This is giving full on novella. Like this is a freaking novella. I'm telling you. It basically follows two women from like two totally different worlds. So you're gonna get Kimmy, who's. She's young, she's broke, she's. She's like placed into this life where she's like stripping at this club and she gets into some. She gets kicked out by her mom in order to survive. She ends up dancing in clubs and she's. She's really dreaming of doing something better. Like she's the type that she wants to get out. Like she wants more for her life. She's a very smart girl, but she does not want to be trapped in this life forever. And then there's Mallory Bellerie and she has it all. She's rich, she's beautiful, she's. She's literally beauty and black. Like, she's married into this beauty empire and she's the, the face of this cosmetics line and but the family, like, they are batshit crazy. Like they all freaking hate each other. Like, it's all about revenge and power and greed and like the things that they will go to, to each other over. Like, it is insane. Like everyone, it's every man for themselves in that family basically. Like, even Mallory and her husband hate each other. Like she married into the family, but she basically like runs this company. Like she is, is doing. She saved them from like going under. Like, because the sun's. Ain't. Like they ain't even the dad Horus, like, he hates his sons. He wants them dead. Like, that's how bad it is. So the dad Horus is like the patriarch of the family. Like, he founded the brand. He made this hair care cosmetics thing into a whole empire. Like he's got the money. Like he is drowning in cash. Like he's drowning in money, bro. Like, he is, is the head honcho, basically. He is very powerful, very wealthy. He holds like all the control and he doesn't trust that his children are going to be capable of like holding up the family business after he passes. And he's very sick right now. Like he's going through a lot of right now. So he has that in the back of his mind, like, who's gonna run this huge like company that I built from scratch? Like, who's gonna continue my legacy? Because it's not going to be these two guys. Like, they, they suck. But there's like so many behind the scenes stuff. Like the, the. They're all caught up in like human trafficking and they're prostituting the strippers and everything. And, and there's all these illegal surgeries. Like the girls are getting bbls. Like literally in a hotel room. Like this one lady that thinks she, that says she's a nurse is like shooting them up with. And that's one of Kimmy's friends. Like, she's been walking around with no ass all season one. Like she was in the hospital the whole time trying to get her ass fixed. Fixed. But there's, there's kidnappings, there's murders, there's like so much exploitation and it's. It's insane. It is really insane. So Kimmy ends up getting sucked into this world along with her two friends, angel and Rain, because she's trying to protect her little sister Sylvie, who ends up getting kidnapped. And that's. And that's where everything starts getting wild. Because one of the guys bore one of the guys, Jules. He works for the family, but he also is the one who runs at like, the club and stuff. And he's got working for him, like, stripping and stuff because they owe him money and things like that. And he just be like, using these women just to like, get money out of them and everything and like prostituting them and making them do. But he also works with the family and they don't know that he's like, been doing all this stuff behind their back. And he's working with one of the other Horus's brother, like, doing that. Like they own that club basically. Like, they, they run there and they are, like in control of all the women. So it's wild. Like, when I tell you, it is so wild. And then this season, like, a lot of starts happening. Like Horace me ends up like, well, Horace and Kimmy, like, last season, like, ended up like, really, you know, talking to each other. And it wasn't a hookup. Like, he was actually hooking up with somebody else. But y' all gotta watch to see who it is. And he eventually is like, hey, like, what if I, like, I think he starts to see, like, Kimmy is very like, you know, she can hold down. Like, she's pretty smart. And he's like, yo, what if I give my business to Kimmy basically? And I do think it's just to get back at his, his kids. But when they find out, because also Kimmy was one of the prostitutes for itself son. Like, she would come and like, fulfill his needs and he would just berate her and like, abuse her. So when he finds out that Kimmy is the one that his dad wants to like, basically take over the business, the look on their faces, like, it is insane. It's just so crazy. And that's not even the, the whole of it. There's so many other little side stories and quests that like, happen. Like, that is not even the full blown picture. Like, there's so much more that's going on. Like, there's so many characters and all of them have different, different things going on. Like, there's so much going on. It's just packed with such scandal and sex and violence and lies and revenge and power and wealth like that. If you really want to show that you can sit down and binge and just not get bored this is your show. I'm telling you, like, I will not let you guys down. You gotta let me know if you've watched it and if you do, please let me know what you think about it. But it is one of the best. It's such a good show. So, yeah, I'm gonna end it here because I'm going to go start my birthday weekend. Okay. Like, I am overdue.
