Vi Rivera
For you, it might just be something you see in headlines that you just scroll past on Instagram, but for most people, this is their real life. Welcome to the Chisme corner. I'm your host, Vi Rivera, your Latina amiga. And go to Cheesmosa for all the chisme that actually matters. Latina, motherhood, beauty, Navigating life in our 30s and keeping our mental health in check. We're keeping it raw, relatable, and a little spicy. We'll also be getting into pop culture topics and some reality show tea. Puerto save que? I love me some tea. So get comfy because the chisme starts now. Okay. I got my cafecito concisme cup today, so you know what that means. It's gonna be a tea episode. Okay. Before we get into all of the things today, I just wanted to Take a moment to talk about something really important right now. In Chicago, there are massive protests happening in response to the ICE raids and immigration enforcements that have been really ramping up thousands of people. I'm talking about, like families, kids, communities. Thousands of people showed up to protest. Everybody came together in Grant park for the no Kings protest. And people have also been showing up outside the ICE detention center demanding justice, demanding transparency. I just want to say, because I know people are going to be listening and, oh, this, this is all politics. And this isn't about politics. This is about human beings. It's about real people. It's about families. It's about communities literally being stripped apart. ICE has been carrying out way more raids in the area and people are scared, rightfully so, because it's scary. It's so scary. I saw a federal judge stepped in and ordered that ICE agents start wearing body cams, basically limiting how and where they can make their arrests. Like, they can't just grab people outside of courthouses anymore. And that right there tells you how serious this has gotten. And this hits deep because even if you haven't been directly affected by the ICE raids, I guarantee, you know, somebody who has, you know, Atiya, you know, a cousin, you know, a sister in law, a brother in law, a family member, a neighbor, somebody who has been affected, someone who literally has to live with a constant fear of just being taken away from their families. So seeing people showing up out there and really showing up and protesting and fighting for immigrant rights, like that matters, that should matter to you. And I know topics like this are heavy and I know people are going to say, oh, I don't listen to podcasts to talk about politics and I don't want to get into politics. Well, what a privilege that is. I'm telling you, that is such a privilege to be able to just watch what's going on and scroll on and not feel a thing, not pay attention because you feel like it has nothing to do with you. That's a privilege. Maybe you need to hear it, maybe you need to see it. You need to feel the discomfort, feel something. Because I promise you, these things will affect you or not. If not you directly, the people that you love down the line. For you, it might just be something you see in headlines that you just scroll past on Instagram. But for most people, this is their real life. So if you're listening to this and your family who is, who's just been scared or you feel less than because of your immigration status, I see you. And please remember that you matter. Your story matters. Please, please stay informed. It's so freaking important. There are some resources because I've been trying to also put my money where my mouth is. Like, I always try and donate and just help where, wherever I can. So you can call or share the ICIRR Family Support Hotline. It's 1855. Help my family. You can also donate to NIJC, the National Immigrant justice center, so immigrant families have legal help. Or you can give to Refugee 1, which is a nonprofit that serves newly arrived refugee families in Chicago. And they help with housing, they help with English, they help with English language lessons, job finding, basic necessities that they need, like toothbrushes, shampoo, all of it. So every little bit helps. So, yeah, I just wanted to give those resources and give anybody who's listening to this podcast that has been going through it, going through it with their families, or even if you live in Chicago, and, you know, I can only imagine what you're feeling right now, I just want to say we got you. We're here for you. And please, please, please stay informed, guys. Hopefully you guys will use the resources that I have given as well. Okay, guys, so I'm going to jump into it a little bit today. I had a lot of topics on here that I really wanted to talk about. I didn't get to get down to it last week because I was recording with vivi, as you guys know. If you haven't listened, go listen to our episode. It was so much fun. It was amazing. Everyone loved the episode so much. So I'm so grateful that we did it. But please tell me you've watched the Ed. Is it Ed Gein? Yeah, I think it's Ed Gein the story on Netflix. So the season. The season of Monster. So there's three seasons. So the first one started with Jeffrey Dahmer, and then the second one was about the Menendez brothers. And then this one is based on Ed Gein, which he was an infamous Wisconsin killer. He was a grave grabber, which is exactly what it sounds like. He was going into graves and taking bodies from the grave. And his crimes in the 1950s were deeply, like, influenced horror fiction and very much influenced by a lot of other movies you see, like, Leatherface. What else was it like? Silence of the Lambs. So Charlie Hunam. Hunnam Hunam. I don't even know how. I don't know how to pronounce half of these names, but you know who I'm talking about. He was from Sons of Anarchy. At least that's how I knew him from it didn't hit me until I watched it. And I was like, wait, he looks so familiar. And I was like, holy, this is the guy from Sons of Anarchy. And I was like, I never in a million years thought that he would play a role like this and play it well. Like he's a good actor, trust me. But this, this whole series was so different from what he does. And I just think he, he, wow. Like he needs to win all the awards because he did such an amazing job as Ed. And I just have so many thoughts. Like I was watching the whole series and you know, there's been a lot of discourse. There's been a lot of talk around it because it is crazy. And yeah, there's some funny parts like the, the sinful cold cuts and just his voice in general and how he sounds with which people were saying that he didn't really sound like that in real life. So they don't know why he picked, you know, that specific voice to use for him. But I also think it was very strategic. I think they knew what they were doing when they filmed this series. I feel like they almost wanted us to empathize with Edgin and his story rather than the monster that he is. That's just how I feel. But it shows his relationship with his mother Augusta, which she is like deeply religious. She absolutely polluted his mind with all this religious and saying that, you know, only she, only a mother could ever love you. Like only she could ever love him. And all women were sin. Like this man he had, he just could not stand a chance since he was little, just living in that household. And he was a grown ass man still living with his mom and doing everything she said, listening to every little thing that she just ingrained into his mind. Like he, he was definitely controlled by her and manipulated, like emotionally manipulated by her, abused by her. And I hate to say it, but like going into it I was, you know, thinking I'm just going to watch any other horror show or I was just gonna, you know, it was just for fun or whatever. And I ended up really, like, I felt sadness for him. Like, I just was so sad and like, you really have to watch it. Like the last episode really made me cry. And it almost feels weird to say that because like, obviously you don't want to empathize with a, with a monster, right? But, but I don't see it as like empathizing with him and his crimes and like the person he was then. I think it's like empathizing with the little child that he was and knowing, like, he didn't have to grow into this. Like, I don't know, it's just, like, empathizing for what could have been for him had he not gone through so much trauma and abuse and shit from his mother. Like, he just did not stand a chance. It was just so sad. And it made me question, like, whether monsters are born this way or just created, you know, because when you take away the horror, when you take away all the terrible things he did. Because, yes, he did terrible things. Like, he was skinning people, using their skin for furniture. And, you know, there are things that I think were very much, like, fabricated in the series. Like, I was doing some research, and they said that there was no necrophilia involved at all. Like, he did not have sex with any of the corpses, like, any of the bodies that he dug up or anything, because apparently he couldn't stand the smell of them. So I don't know why they added all of that in there. I guess just shock factor. But take away all that stuff, all that terrible stuff, all you see is a broken man. It just really makes you realize, like, evil doesn't come out of nowhere. Like, sometimes it's just born from neglect, from trauma, from control. Because, like I said, his mom was a very, very, very controlling of him. So I think, like, the way he plays him really fuels the audience's empathy for him. Because I'm telling you, like, that it was. It got really deep at the end, and there was a lot of mental health issues involved. Like, he was skitso, you know, and he was seeing things and hallucinating things that weren't real. And you could tell the things in the series that were real compared to the things that were in, like, what he was hallucinating. It became really apparent towards the end. And I actually had to watch the series twice because I wanted to go back and see, like, okay, was he hallucinating this or was this real? Like, you kind of want to go back and re watch it because you feel like you miss things. And it really just makes you think. Like, it was. It was really interesting, to say the least. Like, it was. I think out of all the series, the monster series they've done, that one was by far my favorite. And I know people will argue with me because obviously, like, the Jeffrey Dahmer one was amazing. And Evan Peters is phenomenal. Like, I love him. I've literally just been rewatching American Horror Story, and I love all the characters he plays. Like, he's just. He makes you feel so much. But I just love. There was just something about this series that I was just like, wow. Like, it was just really sad. But I know, you know, there was a lot of people, like, how can you empathize with a killer? Is it wrong for people to empathize with someone who's done all these things? And there were people saying, you know, yeah, he did horrific things, but he was also a product of abuse. Like, he was a product of horrific abuse. And I think that's what sets, you know, normal people aside from a monster, like, is being able to feel that empathy and be like, damn, like, he didn't have to come out like this, you know, like, things could have been so different for that poor. That poor guy. But I actually had. Oh, my God, this is so freaking interesting, right? Like, this is how crazy social media is. Like, I literally meet people from all corners of the world and I'm so grateful for it. But someone actually DM'd me and was like. Because I was showing on my stories that I was watching it for the second time and she DM'd me and she was like, that her husband's family grew up with him and that he always seemed really like, you know, he was so nice and they used to go like, roller skating with him or something and. And I was like, wow, like, that is so insane. And she was like, yeah, like, sometimes they still, like, you know, keep in contact with the family, whatever. And I mean, I don't. Who knows if this is true or not. Like, I'm not trying to call her a liar, but I. I don't know. I don't know this person from a can of paint, whatever. But that's just what she told me. And I asked her, I was like, so the relationship with Adeline, like, was it real? Because I'm rewatching it and I'm just like, is he. Did he make up this relationship in his mind that they were, like, actually a couple and, like, they were really together? Like, was that just him hallucinating and, like, wanting, like, yearning for that, or were they actually a couple? And she did tell me that it was, like, a lot of it was fabricated. So I was just like, oh, my God, like, you just don't know what to believe. Like, it was just. It was just so crazy. But the fact that she, like, DM me and was like, yeah, like, my husband, like, knows his family and they used to, like, hang out with him and all this. And I was just like, what? Like, that's It's. That's crazy to me. That is so insane. But, yeah, that is something that if you guys haven't watched, I would definitely say watch it, but trigger warning because it is very. There's a lot going on. Like, I don't think I was prepared for, like, the amount of, like, I was, like, grossed out so much throughout it. Like, I was just like, oh, like, just picturing, like, I can't believe someone has done these things. Like, there's someone living around normal people in a normal life doing these crimes and, like, doing shit like this. So. And then I was also like, how was he constantly digging up these fucking bodies and, like, nobody was noticing. Like, the, like, no one was working at the graveyard or nothing. Like, I don't know. I just. I still have so many questions, but I also understand, like, it was such a different time back then, but yeah, so many questions unanswered. I've just been literally trying to look for stuff on the Internet and there's only so much that you can, like, believe on the Internet. So I don't know. I guess we'll never know. So highly recommend that. And then we also. This is. Oh.

This is amazing because I love me some Selenas. I don't know if you guys heard, but there's a new documentary coming out. Selena y Los Dinos. A Family Legacy. And at first I was like, you know, I was one of those people that was like, can we just, like, let her rest in peace? But then I also think, like, a lot of people, like, the new generations and stuff, like, they don't know Selena the way we all grew up knowing Selena. So it is a beautiful thing to keep her legacy going. So that is a good thing, you know? So, yeah, part of me sometimes is like, yo, like, let this woman rest in peace. Like, she's a legend. We all know her. We all love her. But then it's like, no. Like, you know what? No. Her story needs to be told. Like, they need do as many documentaries as you need to, because it just needs to be told to all future generations. But, yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. It's coming out November 17th, so mark your calendars because we're gonna be watching Selena's. I will do a whole party for this, too. Like, I'm doing a party for the Bad Bunny Super Bowl. Yes. That's my Super Bowl. And I'm also gonna throw a party for Selenas, because I love me some Selenas. Like, who doesn't love them some Selenas? Okay, I'm Puerto Rican, but when I watch Selena, when I hear her music, I turn Mexican real fucking fast, okay? Like, I love cumbia. Like, I love. I know how to do the washing machine. Like, girl, invite me to one of the carnes outlas, because I need to. I need more Mexican friends. I need more Mexican life in me. And it's funny because I don't know if you guys know this, but my dad married a Mexican woman. So when I was growing up, she always cooked, like, Mexican food and stuff like that. So she kind of, like, introduced me a lot to, like, the Mexican culture and stuff, too. So for that, I'm really grateful. But, yeah, I will always ride for Selena and her family. But this originally debuted at the Sundance film festival on January 26th of this year. So I'm glad that they're bringing it to Netflix. And it's going to be basically a documentary, and it shows, like, the rise of Selena Quintanilla and her family brand. And it's using, like, footage of like it says hours and hours of footage. They're using hundreds of hours of never before seen personal archives from the family. And it features like interviews from family members and friends and the band mates and stuff like that. So I'm actually really excited about that. Like, it's not just going to be somebody acting or portraying Selena. Like, it's actual footage and like interviews and things that they have. So, like, be able to kind of see Selena in a different light too. Cuz we've never seen this footage before. So I'm hoping that we get to see more of her as well. I'm. I'm really excited for that. So, November 17th, y', all, Selena, Los Dinos. Okay? And I know you guys have probably seen this, this cringe all over the Internet. Kim K. Launch. This is crazy. Like, what? She's lost her medulla, like completely. KIM K. And her faux hair micro string thong was released on the Skims website. And of course I had to go and look because I. For. At first, when I saw it on my timeline, I was just like, this has to be a prank. And I was like, wait. But no, it's not April. Like, we're in the middle of freaking October. Like, what is this? What is this really? Like, what is this about? And yeah, it was real. Like, it was a real thing. I really thought that was like AI or it was like not real at first when I was seeing it on my timeline because they were. They were zooming in so much on the hair, like on the thong. So it's like a thong. It's like a faux hair thong. Like it's like for your freaking to have hair. And I was just like, what. Who wants this? Like, because I know whenever I. I know so many women that get waxed and get laser. Who. Who is buying this? Like, who is the target audience for this? And they were all sold out. Like, I went on the website because I was like, nah, like, this gotta be a prank. Like, this has to be some fake. Or I don't know, like. Like people using this as like a Halloween costume. Like, what are. Are people really turned on by this? Like, is this really like a cute thing? And it was like, yo, all of it was sold out, like every single size. And I'm like, no, she probably put like 10 pieces each on because there's no way. Like, who is actually buying this? I need to know. If you bought this, please let me know. And I want to see it. Like, I need to see like a. It packaged up. Like, I need to see people Actually getting it and like, I guess not putting it on, but, like, I don't know. Like, I don't even know what I'm looking for here. But I just know it was not that. Like, I was just like, what is going on with her? Like, what is going on up there? Usually, Usually she has some really good business ideas, but this one was just like a flop. Like, I could deal with the. I really liked the bra. Like, when she had the nipple ring, the nipple piercings in the bras, I thought that was dope. Like, I, I, that's something I would wear. I used to actually have my nipple pierced. I had one, one for fun. And I always said, like, I would like to get it again. But that was one of the piercings that I got that was like, it hurt the absolute most. So I always go back and forth with that, but I thought that was really cute. Like, I would rock a bra like that, but I will not rock a full blown Bush song. I'm just not going there. Like, I don't. We could grow that organically ourselves, ladies. You know that, right? Like, I just, I don't know. I was just so taken aback when I saw that. And I'm like, what is going on here? But that was really funny. And it was all over the place. And I was like, I got to talk about this shit, because what the hell was that? Like, what kind, what kind of life are we living here? Like, I don't even know what's going on anymore. Oh, I also, I have something super, super exciting. Because I don't know about y', all, but I was the ultimate Danny D. Kane fan. Like, when they were doing making the band and everything, that was my, like, y' all can Diddy and everything he got going on. But back then, that was the show. Like, that was, that was the show to watch. Like, we were. I was rooting for these girls hard. Like, I love me some Danity Kane. And recently I saw that they posted that they're going on tour and it's called the Untold Chapter Tour, and they're turning 20. Like, the group is turning 20, which is like, you guys aren't really turning. I mean, yeah, I guess you're turning 20, but I mean, they haven't been a group in how long? Like, it's been a really long time. But I was like, damn, 20 years of Danity Kane. Like, 20 years of me bopping showstopper because that is my bumping damage. Like, I still listen to all that stuff in the car. Like, Vivi is gonna know who Danity Kane is because they were them girls. But apparently only three of the members are going on tour and I don't really know who they are yet, but I can guess you guys. If you guys have any guesses, write in the comments and let me know. But listen, if you are interested in seeing them on tour, it starts in December and they're gonna be in San Francisco, California, Los Angeles, Uncastville, Connecticut, Detroit, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which I'm honestly thinking about getting some ticks, but I don't know. Like, I just. I just. I don't really know. Like, I love them, but I'm like, is it enough to like, go on a tour? I'm not sure. Boston, Massachusetts and New York, New York. So those are the dates if you guys want to grab some ticks and long live Danny the cane, because, woo. They was them girls. Okay. Also. Okay, so y' all know I. Well, y' all probably. Some of y' all probably don't know, but I have watched every single season of Love is Blind. They're on their ninth season now. I'm pretty sure that's. It's the ninth season. I've watched every single one. Like, I am a Love is Blind Stan. Like, I have watched since the beginning. So I'm just committed to this show, like, every time it comes out on Netflix. Like, even if some of the seasons have, like, started to become such trash, like, it still makes for good tv, even though the people, Some. Most of the people on there are like garbage. But I just, I feel so dedicated to the show that I can't stop. Like, I have to watch every single season. So that's exactly what I've been doing. So this season takes place in Denver, Colorado. And what the fuck do y' all got going on in Denver, Colorado? Because wow. Like, this season is trash again. Last season was like, no better and just wow. Like, if you guys have watched, we have to talk about this. Like, we. We need to have like a back and forth discussion. And I did. I talked about this on my Instagram stories. But I'm trying to find a platform where we can all collectively come together to, like, talk and, like, chat and talk about the episodes. Like, the Cheese My Corner episodes, like, for this podcast. Because I really want to form a community and stuff. Like, I want to be able to talk about, you know, like, the episodes and talk to you guys and get to know you guys, like, as a community. So I'm looking into that right now and, like, trying to, you know, make Something happen so that we can have that and, like, discuss things like this, because I'm. I'm a reality TV junkie. Like, I love. And specifically for, like, Netflix shows. Like, I. If you ever see, like, new documentaries and new shows come out on Netflix, you immediately got to be like, oh, I know V. Watch that shit. Like, I am in my house Sundays. Like, Sundays are my days where I just chill. If I'm not cleaning, I am riding on my couch, just watching documentaries, watching any new shows that came out. I love me a good new show. Like, I see a. Someone even recommends a documentary or, oh, my God, this was crazy. I'm writing it down in my notes, and I'm watching it later. But, yeah, I wrote down some stuff about some of the couples, and I had some thoughts because I. Well, they've. They've gotten down. The new episodes actually come out today. I haven't watched, like, who Gets Married or not yet, which I have heard through the grapevine that nobody ends up getting married this season, which is insane. I don't think they've ever had a season where no one gets married. But, I mean, no, I'm. I'm wrong. The new. The last episodes come out tomorrow. So once I see that, maybe next week we can talk about, like, who gets married, who doesn't. But I've heard, like. Because I'm telling you, these people have been on podcasts and, like, spilling tea, and I don't know. It's crazy to me, because shouldn't they. Shouldn't it be in their contract that they can't. They're not supposed to, like, go and talk about anything that's happened before. Like, the last episode airs. Like, it kind of ruins it for everybody. Like, everyone kind of knows what's going on. Everyone is already catching on to who's together, who's not. So it's just like, what the hell? Like, why are y'. All. Why are y' all doing this? But then it's also like, damn, we enjoy the tea. Because we're kind of getting caught up through, like, the episodes and stuff. Like, we're able to know, like, what's actually happening. Like, they're giving their take. They're giving their sides on it. And, yeah, it's been. It's been really messy. Like, this season has been really messy. So we'll start with Casey and Patrick. Patrick was the Asian guy, and Casey was the white girl that, you know, obviously was like, oh, I've never dated Asian guys in my life. Immediately. Immediately I knew that that relationship Was not going to work out. I knew exactly how it played out in my mind was literally exactly what happened. Like, it was insane. Like, I could have. I played that shit out all by myself. But she went and told production. Like, I just, you know, I don't know. I don't feel like the attraction is gonna grow. Like, she was telling production and they have it on. They have her on camera saying exactly those words, like, the attraction's not gonna grow. Like, she clearly was not attracted to him. And then she meets him and she's basically telling him that she doesn't want to go to Mexico because you know how all the couples end up going on a vacation together, like, for like a week, I think it is, or something, or a couple days. She didn't want to go to Baja with him. And she was just like, she was like, hugging him, kissing him all over. Like, she was. I feel like she was trying to make it a point to him that she. That, no, it wasn't the attraction. Like, that's not what it is. Like, I just don't want to go to Mexico. Like, I don't. How am I going to explain to my parents? Like, she started talking about her family, blah, blah, blah. Which it was like, bitch. She was just saying how, like, her boyfriend, like, she had a boyfriend, and he was telling her to go on, like, the dating show or something like that. And I was just like, that should have been a red flag for Patrick right there. Like, I would have been like, nagar you. You probably still with this man. Like, if you're coming on a show because. And you were just in a relationship when someone said that you could go and do that. Like, I don't know. And I think he was.

I saw some stuff, and apparently he was like, on re. He was like, on shows or he was like a reality star, too. I don't know how true that is, but I was just like, it was just red flags all around. And, you know, the crazy thing is he actually had another connection. Like, you know, sometimes you have, like, two, sometimes three even different connections in there, and you're trying to see, like, which one you really want to go with. So he had another connection, Anna, and she ended up leaving, like the third episode in, like, she just left. She just dipped. She didn't say to him nothing. She didn't say bye to him or nothing. So I think he was originally gonna pick Anna because I had a lot more in. In common, especially with their backgrounds. I'm pretty sure she was Asian as well. And I really thought that they would be, like, a really cute couple. But then she left. Like, she just left. And then, you know, he ended up just, like. Was like, all right, like, I guess I'm going to see it through with Casey. But I think in his heart, he knew, like, he didn't really want to do that. Like, I. It felt so forced. Anna got a lot of backlash and she about leaving, and she was just saying that she was getting pretty Vulnerable. Like, she just got really scared. I don't know. I guess reality just really started to hit the girl. And she was like, nope, I'm out. Like, I'm not doing this no more. And she wrote on her Instagram, she wrote this long post, and she goes, hey, everybody, this will probably be the last and only post about Love is Blind. With all of my. With all of the online attention daily dms, hundreds of comments I have to delete daily, this isn't the attention I wanted by agreeing to participate in the experience in the experiment, which is like, girl, I know you've seen all these last seasons. Like, this is what happens. Like, social media plays a huge part in these shows. So no, you can't tell me you didn't know, like, this would have happened, you know? But she goes, I tried it. Ultimately, it didn't work out for me, and that's okay. The only thing I cared about was hurting Patrick with how Exit how exited the show, and I deeply regretted that. Since then, him and I have built a friendship that means a lot to me and that's all that matters. Although I'm grateful for the success experience, this was filmed almost two years ago, and when I left, I wanted that chapter to come to a close. Please respect that and give me and my friends and family the privacy we deserve. Much love and remember that we are real people and be kind. Thank you for reading. The fact that that's. It's like, all filmed two years ago is crazy. Like, that's a lot of time to. And then have to, like, relive all of that. Like, I don't know. It definitely sucks. And I can. I can definitely relate to that because that was kind of like how the show was too, when we were on the show. Like, sometimes a lot of that stuff would be like a year old, and then you have to, like, relive it and go through it again. And you'd be like, sometimes you'd be mad all over again. Like, this, like, you. But so I definitely get that. But, yeah, that's like, their story. And so Casey ended up, you know, telling Patrick that, you know, she wanted to leave, and she told production one thing and told Patrick a whole nother thing. And he's thinking, like, I think he's. Poor thing is sitting there, like, thinking they're going to continue the relationship. They're just not going on vacation together. But she dipped on him. She dipped. And that was it. And then we have Edmund and Calibria. I hope I'm saying her name right. I'LL be butchering names. Like, I love her. Like, I love her so much. I feel like she's so emotionally intelligent. She expresses herself very well. There was one point where they were, like, on the mountains. And you can tell she was very frustrated with him, and she kind of, like, spazzed out on him. Like, she called him A and everything. But other than that, I feel like she really does. Like, she. Whenever she's bothered by anything she tells him. Whenever she's feeling something, she tells him. Like, she's very mature in that sense where she's not keeping in. She's not sugarcoating anything to make you feel comfortable. Like, she wants to just get through whatever it is you're going through and move on, you know? And there was a point where she told Ed, like, she was asking. She was sitting there asking Edmund, like, all right, let's say we're in a club, and, you know, this guy comes up. Like, he starts pushing up on me, and I'm just like, you know, like, she gave this whole scenario of, like, basically, this guy's bothering me. Like, what are you gonna do? And he was like, I. I'm. I don't do drama. Like, I'm not gonna fight. Like, I'm not gonna start nothing. And she was like, you're not gonna protect me? Like. Like this. She wants a man. She wants someone to stick up for her and be like, nah, don't be grabbing my girl. Like, that's what she wants. Edmund, like, come on, boy. You know what your girl needs. But he's just very. Edmund is very reserved. Like, he's very. He's a quirky little soul. Like, he's. He's different, you know? Like, he's very different. And there was a lot of people saying, like, they felt like he. That Netflix was kind of like. Like, basically, like, he's on the wrong show. Like, they. They felt like they were, like, exploiting him because you can see just the way he talks and the way he acts. He's different, you know, And Calibria is. Is. They're. They're very different. They just. They're just very different. And she's also a social worker, which I found really interesting because Edmund has talked about the fact that he, you know, like, grew up in the foster care system and stuff. And, you know, he had, like, all this stuff happening with his mom. And you guys, you. You get. You have to watch it. Like, there's so many part, like, moving parts to them and their relationship in general. Like, but the mom. I don't know. The mom was like, weird because she was like telling Calabria, like, basically, if I, if me and you have a conversation, like, don't go back and tell Edmund. Like, she's like, I got all these, I got these daughter in laws and they just be like going back and like basically like talking to, to my sons and like telling them, telling them our conversations. And it's like, girl, like, that's gonna be her husband, you know? Like, you think she's not gonna talk to her husband? Like, I don't know. It just, it was like really weird to me that she was like even saying that. I was just like, what the hell? Like, her loyalty is not to you. Like her loyalty is to her husband. So that was really off and weird. But I don't think they're gonna get married. I really don't. I think she's trying really hard to like, because she did fall in love with this man in the pods. But I feel like there's certain things that he does sometimes. Like he had like crawled into like this little cabinet and was like just sitting in there and he like licked the floor at one point. Like there's this. He was crying to her in bed because she didn't want to give him no ass. Like, it's just so crazy to me. Like, his behaviors are really like, boy, like grow the up for real. And you can tell in her eyes that's what she was thinking. Like she was looking at him and she was like, boy, if you don't grow the up, like you could tell tell that's just what she, she's thinking. And I think she does say the. The reason why I feel this way is because she did say like, oh. She told him straight up, like, oh, you have so much potential. So I feel like she is falling in love with him because of that. And that is something you don't ever want to do in a relationship. Like, you don't love the person for their potential. Like, you can't do that because if they're never going to reach that potential, then you're screwed. You're gonna be like, like, I thought you were gonna be like, much more than this. And now, now what? You know, so you can't love someone based on like the potential you think they have. Like, it's just not. To me, that's just never gonna work. But I don't know, I kind of empathize with both of them. So that is just like a really weird relationship for me. I don't even know how to explain it. But. And then we have Nick and Annie. No Annie. They're, like, my least favorite couple. I'm sorry, I just don't. They are my least favorite couple. And Nick, I just don't think he's that into Annie. I don't think so. I think he is into other things. I don't think it's Annie. I don't. I just don't. I'm sorry. I just do. I don't see this. Something becoming a marriage. And, like, they had this conversation where she's just like, I don't know. They had a conversation in the pods where she was asking him, like, oh, how would you feel if, like, your kid came out gay or something? And they were just. They. Both. Their answers. Both of their answers was just, like, disgusting. And I was just like, oh, y' all are red flags across the board. Like, y' all kind of deserve each other, honestly. And then they had another conversation, which was really interesting to me, where he said that his mom basically, like, thought or thought or thinks he's gay. And I was like, girl, if his mom is thinking that, like, come on. Like, I was just. Like. It was just really interesting. It was really interesting to me because I do get those vibes. I get those vibes from him, and my gaydar is always, never wrong. But, yeah, I don't know. It was just really interesting to me. I don't think he's that into her, and I think she's just trying to force being with him. Like, I think she just wants to be married so bad. Like, that's how I feel about that. They're not getting married at all. They're not. Because she. He basically broke up with her. Like, he was just like, you know, I just don't feel. This is not right. Like, this is not right for me. Like. And I was like, yeah, yeah, it's not right for you. Like, I don't think this is right for you. And Annie just kept. She kept, like, telling him, like, no. Like, she was like, she would not let this man break up with her. She was like, no, like, just love me. Like, no. Like, you, like, just love me, like, gonna see the best. Like, the best part of your life is gonna start. Like, why are you doing this? Like, no, don't. Don't do this. And I was just like, girl, know your worth. Like, you trying to get this man who clearly ain't even that into you to marry you. Stop it, please. Like, we gotta. We gotta do better. Because it was really cringe to watch. And it was like, really sad actually, because I was like, yo, like, you should never. Don't ever beg no man to be with you. Don't ever beg no man to marry you. To never beg no man. Nothing, nothing, nothing. And I was just, ugh. I just. It was very cringe worthy to watch. I'll give it to him. Like in that scene, he was very. He communicated with her very well. Like, he. Especially for how she was reacting back. I would have been like, like, no, we not getting married. Like, I'm, I'm done. Like, but he was so patient with her and he was just, you know, like, he was very. You can tell he was. Was definitely considering her feelings. So I give him that. Like, he was communicating really well there. But I don't know. They're just a mess since the beginning. Then we have Ali and Anton. And Ali is so cute. Like, she's just this adorable nurse and she just, she want to be taken care of, which is like rightfully so, girl. Hell yeah. But she also wants to have her own account. Like, she wants to be able to get her Botox whenever the she wants. She don't want to be questioned by no man. But she also wants her man to take care of her, which is like, me. So like I get you, girl. But I feel like they are a little more like they're gonna end up having. If, if they get married, they're gonna have a little more of like a traditional marriage. Like I think she'll end up. I. I don't know. I really hope that she doesn't, but I feel like she'd be one of those people that ends up like giving up her career, like to be like a stay at home mom just to like make him happy. I hope I'm wrong. Like, well, actually I hope they don't get Marri. I feel like she would be someone to like kind of do that and I don't want her to, but I feel like she wants like the marriage. Like she wants that security. She wants a husband. You know, like, she wants. She wants a husband husband. She wants someone who's going to take care of her. And Anton is very traditional. Like, he wants his, you know, like he want to pay the bills. Like, he want to be the one to do all the things and stuff. And I feel like he looks at her a little bit as like she's very materialistic and he probably thinks she's going to put him in the hole because like she, even when he gave her the, the ring, he. She was like saying like, oh, like you Know, I need like a ten thousand dollar ring and stuff. And he was like, whoa, like, what? He's like, I'm not like spending $10,000 on a ring. Like, what the hell? But. And then he's, you know, she's just talking about like getting like a maid and all these things. And he was just like, girl, like, you could pick up after yourself because she made it clear that she, like, doesn't really pick up. And he was like, girl, like you could pick up after yourself. But I don't know, I feel like they. Maybe they could work. Like, I think they're both kind of one in the same. Like, I think they probably could work out if they do get married. But he also. She's very concerned about his drinking. Like this, this was so funny because she was like, I think they, they had. There was like, I guess like a 12 pack or two 12 packs apparently, like in the refrigerator. And apparently like one of his friends came over. Like, his boy came over and they were like drinking. And she was like, oh, wait, he like, he came into the apartment like, y' all was drinking in here. And he was like, he came like downstairs. We were like hanging out downstairs. I guess they have a rec room or something. I don't know. And so he was like, yeah, like, you know, we had a couple beers, whatever. And she's like, we just got those beers. Like, there's like nothing in the fridge. Basically, like, it was something like that. And. But she was very concerned about how many beers were missing. And she was like, I only had like a couple. And she was like, but there's like a tote. There's like a 12 pack in there. Like there was either there was a 12 pack or there was two 12 packs. I don't, I don't really remember. So my bad. But. But basically the whole point is that she was upset because he was kind of acting like he didn't drink them shits. And she's like, bro, like, who else is here? Like, I didn't drink them, so I know you drank them. And he was. Or she was already kind of having an issue with the fact that like he. So they have two totally different schedules. Like, I guess he like works a lot, like overnight. So when he gets home, he come like, he's in the morning. Like, he'll get home in the morning. And he's like drinking during the day because that's like his, that's his time to wind down, which is kind of like opposite for other people where they work in the morning. And then they kind of wind down. Like, for dinner, like, you might have a glass of wine or, like, a beer, whatever. But she is just looking at it, like, okay, you're drinking during the day, and, like, that's, like, weird. Which I. I agree. Like, if Joe was just around here just, like, drinking beer. Like, he doesn't drink beer at all. But if he was, like, taking shots throughout the day or, like, do. I would be like, what the fuck? Major red flag, bro. Like, we ain't doing that. That's just. No, like, I totally am for, like, you know, if you're a casual drink. Like, if you go out, like, you have, you know, a couple drinks with friends or whatever every now and then. But, like, it's like, it was con. She started noticing it was, like, consistent with him. So I kind of understand that because I would. That would raise a red flag for me, too, especially because I like the way I grew up. Like, my dad was a drinker, and whenever he would drink, it would just be bad. So that would definitely trigger me. So I think it was definitely triggering her. Like, you could tell? And she was telling him, and he was just, like, trying to make it seem like it just wasn't a big deal. He's like, bro, like, I can drink, like, a beer. Like, you know, like, I'm not an alcoholic or anything like that. But she was just like, yeah, but that's just not okay. You know? Like, she's telling her how. She's telling him how she feels. And then she asked. She's like, oh, what happened to the tequila bottle that was in there? And this man had the nerve to be like. Like, the tequila. Like, he was, like, acting like he didn't know what she was talking about. He goes up to the fridge, opens the fridge, looks for the tequila bottle, and it's like, bro, like, you know damn well. And he's like, oh, oh, I guess we must have drank. I guess I must have drank that too. Like, bro, you know you drank that. Like, he was just trying to play dumb so bad. I feel like he was trying to make her look stupid. I would have been like, you. Like, you. You can't play me. Like, I know. I know who drank the. It wasn't me, so it was you. Like, like, that's what she should have said to him. Like, stop me. Trying to make me feel stupid on camera. But he was really trying to play it like, he didn't drink all that. And it was so funny. Like, he really went up to the refrigerator and everything. But I Was like, yo, they got, I don't know, they got that they need to work out, so we'll see about them. And then there's Sparkle Megan and Jordan, which, this, this woman, this 35 year old woman was introducing herself as Sparkle Megan to everybody. And I was just like, girl, what, like what's your, what's your last name? Like what's your actual name? But yeah, her name is Megan and she's very, very successful. Like, she's, she's very successful and Jordan is just, you know, he's a regular, he's a regular guy and he's got a really good job too. But he's got a son and his son has diabetes. And that's something that she was able to relate to because her dad passed from it. So she felt like, you know, she was just, she was actually had another connection in there too. But she was, I think she was a little more pulled towards Jordan because he was like nothing she ever dated before. And she knew the other dude that she was talking to was like, first of all, he, I, I did not like his ass. So I'm glad she didn't pick him. I feel like he was trying to like, like throw jabs at Jordan all the time and like be like, nah, like, pick me, pick me. Like, I'm what you need. Like, we're both, we both entrepreneurs. Like, we both make money. Like he was trying to like lower Jordan and make it seem like he wasn't. But she ended up going with Jordan and they got engaged and you know, they, she just, I think they're just, they have two totally different lifestyles. Like, the way they live life, like a lot of that. Like, I don't know, I kind of feel like they were the most normal ones this season and I, I am like rooting for them. I want to see if they do get married. Just because Jordan is very like, you can tell he loves his son. He's a single parent in his household. And just the way he talks about his son and everything, you can tell, like, I just feel like Megan would be a good fit for them. So I don't know, I hope they work out. But that man, like is weird. Like he, he did this thing where he like baked chicken and then he put it in a blender, put like water in. Gets worse. And then he put a pack of crystal light in there, blended that up and drink it, and then got the nerve to have a little milk mustache. Like, like, oh my God, I wanted to throw up. Like, what are you doing? What, what is happening. And then she went and tried it. I was like, girl, like, are you dead ass? Like, there's things that you don't need to. To do with. With. With your partner. If they want to do some dumb, let them do some dumb. But I was just like, wow. Like, that was crazy. Like, just eat the chicken. I don't know. I don't know what that was about. Yeah, they faced some challenges, and she was, like, mad that he was tired. Like, he's always tired. And she'd just be mad. She's like, why are you tired? Like, she's like, I want to. Like, she's a very. You can tell she's, like, a very adventurous type of person, and the man is just tired. Like, he's got a different job than her. I think he's very much, like, talking to people all the time, and that drains you. Like, I'm telling you, like, even after I do this podcast, I'm drained. Like, I don't want to talk to nobody for a couple hours because I'm here talking. Not even just to myself. Like, I'm talking. Just talking in general and also just talking to myself for, like, an hour, two hours. So I totally get him on that. And I'm like, girl, like, let the man be tired. Like, he's literally telling. He's literally just like, girl, like, I just. Sometimes I just want to lay down and watch a movie and, like, just basically, like, shut the fuck up. Like, But I don't know. I feel like they're gonna face some, like, lifestyle challenges if they get married because she's very much. Like, she lives her life. Like, she doesn't have a kid, because she doesn't have a kid, you know? And, like, I don't think she should have to give that up because of his lifestyle. But I guess we'll see how they can make that work. But, yeah, I don't know. And then the last one we have is Joe and Madison. Oh, my God, these two. They. I wish they never got together in the first place. Like, they are tragic together. Like, Joe is so. He's just weird. Like, he's just a weird dude. And I was just like, like, like, when they were. He kind of, like, got drunk at one of, like, their little events that they all had. Like, we were in there, they were all together, like, this pool party type thing, like in Mexico, and he got, like, drunk, and he was, like, trying to kind of act like he wasn't drunk. And it was like, bro, you're drunk. And he was the way he was talking to her, and, like, just, like, she was like, are you okay? Like, what is going on? And, like, he was just. He went back to the room to, like, take a nap. He woke up. He had, like, no idea where the he was. Or, like. Like, he looked at her like a stranger. Like, he was like, who the are you? Like, you can tell he was just obliterated. Like, he definitely drank too much. He did have some funny. He did have some funny moments, though. Like, there were times where I was like, I hate this guy, but I would just die laughing at the. That he would say, because I was just like, he's just an idiot. But I think she's. She's way too good for him. And I'm a thou. Like, I know they definitely didn't get married because he walked out during the. When they were trying on the suits and stuff like that, and, you know, what's up? Like, no one even told her that that happened. Like, she was like, I had no idea that he, like, walked out. So I was just like, wow. Like, that's. That's up. And then, yeah, he ended up, like, breaking up with her. And the sweet, amazing girl that Madison is, she was just like, you know, like, I don't regret this. Like, thank you, like, for going on this journey with me. Like, I would never have wanted to do with anyone else. And meanwhile, like, you can tell on his face, like, he does not give a. Like, he. You can tell he's just not that into her, which I don't know why. She's a bombshell. Like, she's so hot. And I feel like he can never truly express how he wanted to feel. Like, you can tell he was always beating around the bush and, like, didn't really want to truly express how he felt to her because he was putting up a facade. Like, you can tell. You can tell when the people there are truly in it and they really love the person that they picked and they want to marry them, as opposed to the people who are just there for, like, tv or. They ended up, like, you know, getting engaged, and now they're just like. Like, I have to. Like, I gotta, like, pull through with this just for the show or something. Like, you can just tell. You can tell. So that's where we're at. And so Joe and Madison are no more. Casey and Patrick no more. Who else? Nick and Annie no more. So all we have left to see who gets married are Edmund and Calibria Sparkle, Megan and Jordan and Ally and Anton. So that's gonna be interesting. I can't wait for tomorrow to come out. But yeah, guys, that's all the tea that I have on that. And that's a wrap on today's Chisme. But don't let the conversation stop here. Let's keep it going. And I promise I'm working on a platform where we can keep it going, where it's not just on YouTube or on Instagram DMs, but make sure you do subscribe on our YouTube, where you can watch the podcast every Thursday and leave a review and follow me at Beautify Me and follow the podcast at the Chisme Corner.
