If you are looking to bring your congregation to be healthy and revitalized, first you need the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then there are five shifts that are needed in attitudes, assumptions and their related behaviors. The first shift may be found in the previous episode and the second shift as described here is shifting from the "I'll just do it myself" approach to intentionally involving others. The result is a healthy sharing of responsibility and leadership but even more than that a way in which people can participate and grow in their faith. Research and our own experience shows that those who are involved attend worship more often, invite people more often and give more faithfully. It will be hard and it will not be the same when it is stronger, healthier and with more people. So what is your reason for doing it? What will give you the grit to continue when it gets really hard? Hopefully this episode will help you answer that question. Check out previous episodes in this series: Why Church Decline? https:scottgress.com scottgress@me.com

Rev Dr Dan Prugh serves at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Tampa Florida. In this second part of our interview he continues to unpack the question, "how do you meet all these people and bring them to baptism?" He shares how they work with people to create spaces for them to grow closer to Jesus and not leave it to chance. Dan says that if people are bringing their children to you then they want to hear from you. So they intentionally create space for folks to interact with the faith. Dan also spends time talking about what the congregation does that works so well.
