The Supreme Court allows Maine Representative Laura Libby to vote again despite her censure by the legislature for transphobic comments. US Aid cuts have left food for millions rotting in storage. A federal appeals court leaves in place an order requiring the Trump administration to return Daniel Lozano Camargo to the United States after having sent him there in violation of a legal settlement. And the Senate has confirmed convicted felon Charles Kushner to be the ambassador of France. I'm Alison Gill.
Dana Goldberg
And I'm Dana Goldberg.
Alison Gill
Yay. Dana's back. Happy Wednesday.
Dana Goldberg
Thank you. It's nice to be back. Thanks for covering me while I did the goddess's work. It was a super successful four days. There was a super secret conference that I told you about. The Gill foundation is a incredible philanthropic foundation that Tim Gill and his husband Scott Miller have founded. And it's def. They invite very big donors to a conference, and they have attorneys general and senators and congressmen and lots of people speaking that are leading the LGBTQ movements. And they have panels to convince these donors why they should give their money to this organization so they can spread it out among all these different organizations. And it was the most successful out giving conference they've ever had. So if for some reason you happen to be a listener that has a tremendous amount of money and you're maybe in your last years and you're like, what do I do with this money? How can I make a difference? Have I got a deal for you. We could talk. The organization's phenomenal and they are doing very good things. And then last night, I was doing a gala for the Jewish Queer Youth in New York. They were honoring an incredible Broadway producer and writer and human named Rachel Sussman. And I raised about $50,000 to keep the Jewish Queer Youth safer in the state of New York.
Alison Gill
Fantastic. Thank you so much. It's my pleasure back.
Dana Goldberg
And I'm happy to be back. I missed you.
Alison Gill
Yeah, I missed you too. And it's my pleasure to cover you when you're raising $50,000 for Jewish gay youth. That's just incredible. That's incredible.
Dana Goldberg
There was a at the conference, the GHL Foundation. It's amazing what they raised. But just know everyone, that there's multi millions of dollars being redirected to organizations that are in need and they're fighting and they are fighting. And I tell you what, the attorneys general out there that are so fired up, most of them, obviously the 17. I think there's 17 Democratic attorneys general right now, at least. And the two lesbian ones out there, Dana Nestle and I believe Michigan. And then Attorney General Mays, who she is. She is good.
Alison Gill
She is Chris Mays, Arizona.
Dana Goldberg
Yes. God, she's good.
Alison Gill
She's fantastic. Yeah, that's fantastic. And no relation, by the way, the Gill foundation to me. Otherwise we would have millions of dollars.
Dana Goldberg
That's right.
Alison Gill
But hey, if you are a millionaire and you want to support independent media, Well, y' all, we're gonna be having a Patreon happy hour Zoom cocktail mocktail extravaganza this Friday at 7pm Eastern, 4 Pacific. I honestly, it always makes me feel good when I pop in and then the chat room is like, Dana's here. And it makes me feel like a million dollars. And Dana, do you remember main rep Libby, Right?
Dana Goldberg
I do, yeah. Horrible transphobe. Yep.
Alison Gill
Yes. She was censured for her transphobic comments and lost her right to vote in the legislature. Until she apologized. All she had to do was apologize. Well, the Supreme Court has lifted that ban and she got her ability to vote back, so. Bunch of jerks. Yeah, but it was 7 to 2. I believe it was Jackson and Sotomayor who dissented. And I'm with them.
Dana Goldberg
Yeah, of course we are. Yeah. A couple of Men, by the way, who were supposed to be sent to Vietnam and Myanmar. They were put on a plane to war torn South Sudan without meaningful due process. That should surprise no one. And after a judge ordered the government not to send them to a third country, that's what happened. They filed an emergency tro. So we'll keep you updated on what's going on there.
Alison Gill
Yeah, we'll keep an eye on that. And this is fucking scary. Check out this clip of New Hampshire Senator Hassan and Gestapo czar. I mean, that's what I'm calling her. Christine. Yeah, listen to this clip. This is from Tuesday.
C
So, Secretary Noem, what is habeas corpus?
Dana Goldberg
Well, habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country. Let me.
C
Let me stop habeas corpus. Excuse me, that's. That's incorrect, President. Habeas corpus. Excuse me? Habeas corpus is the legal principle that requires that the government provide a public reason for detaining and imprisoning people. If not for that protection, the government could simply arrest people, including American citizens, and hold them indefinitely for no reason. Habeas corpus is the foundational right that separates free societies like America from police states like North Korea. As a senator from the Live Free or die state, as this matters a lot to me and my constituents and to all Americans. So, Secretary Noem, do you support the core protection that habeas corpus provides? That the government must provide a public reason in order to detain and imprison someone?
Alison Gill
Yet I support habeas corpus.
Dana Goldberg
I also recognize that the President of.
Alison Gill
The United States has the authority under.
Dana Goldberg
The Constitution to decide if it should be suspended or not.
C
It has never.
Alison Gill
Let us be clear, though.
C
It has never been done. It has never been done without approval of Congress. Even Abraham Lincoln got retroactive approval from Congress.
Alison Gill
So when I first heard that, I put out on Blue Sky. I have no words, but I lied. I have words. Good.
Dana Goldberg
You usually find them. It takes a second, but she finds them.
Alison Gill
I. Yeah, you know, I have to always kind of put them through a little bit of a. Kind of a filter before I say them. But you can read my words@mullershiro.com about that and habeas corpus. And of course, Slotkin from Michigan, she was like, habeas corpus is the right for all American citizens that are here legally. So she got it wrong too. It's actually for anybody who's in the United States. You don't have to be a legal citizen to be protected by the Constitution. Ah, I'M just, I'm pulling my hair out. But anyway, you can read my words because I had some again, military road dot com. And that's also free. Anyway, right on. Yeah. We have a lot of news to get to. Let's hit the hot notes. Hot notes. All right, everybody. First up from abc, the federal trespassing charge against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka has been dismissed after his arrest outside an Immigration and Customs enforcement facility, an ICE facility. That's according to the U.S. attorney for New Jersey, Alina Haba.
Dana Goldberg
Oh.
Alison Gill
In a press conference Monday while the case against Baraka was dropped, Haba then announced her office as charging Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, who was at the ICE facility when the mayor was taken into custody. Quote, after extensive consideration, we've agreed to dismiss Mayor Baraka's misdemeanor charge of trespass for the sake of moving forward. That's what she said in a statement on social media. But I think what she meant was that they have dismissed the charge because they don't have any evidence.
Dana Goldberg
I think that sounds reasonable.
Alison Gill
I mean, I was like, dude, bring it, Bring it to court. Let's see, let's see. Let's file motions to dismiss. Let's do pretrial motions. Really? We're not going to do that. All right. Let's go to trial. Let's put this in front of a jury of people in New Jersey. So she's afraid, obviously, of the outcome of that because they didn't have any evidence. Now, regarding the bullshit charge against Congresswoman McIver, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin released the following statement saying, we have long counted on a partnership with the U.S. attorney's office to keep New Jerseyans safe from harm. But instead of focusing on the pressing threats that matter to New Jersey families, interim U.S. attorney Alina Haba has chosen to spend her time engaging in political stunts, often making irresponsible and unethical statements on cable TV or social media without bothering to understand the facts or the law at issue. Charging a member of Congress who was conducting lawful oversight is an extraordinary step that requires clear evidence of criminal conduct and intent. Prosecutors have a duty to discharge their powers responsibly and fairly, and Alina Haba would do well to remember that.
Dana Goldberg
Well said. My God, some of these stories, I just, like we said, we hate reporting them, but we got to keep you up on this. This is from Reuters. Food rations that could supply 3.5 million people for a month, well, they're moldering in warehouses across the world because USAID cuts and risk becoming unusable. That's according to five people familiar with the situation. Now, the food stocks, they've been stuck inside four US government warehouses since Trump administration's decision in January to cut global aid programs. That's according to three people who previously worked at the US Agency for International Development and two sources from other aid organizations. Now, some stocks that are due to expire as early as July, they're likely just to be destroyed either by incineration, using them as animal feed or disposing them in other ways. Two of sources said the comedian and me. If it's corn, I hope they incinerate them because I would really like to see it just all pop in the warehouse. If they're going to destroy it, it'd be kind of funny. Okay. The warehouses, which are run by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, that's the BHA. It contains between 60,000 to 66,000 metric tons of food. Yeah. Sourced from American farmers, by the way, and manufacturers. This is what five people said. These supplies are valued at $98 million. Doge didn't notice that. According to the document reviewed by Reuters, which was shared by an aid official and verified by a US Government source as that was being up to date, that food could feed over a million people for three months or the entire population of Gaza for a month and a half. That's according Reuters analysis using figures from World Food Program. That's the world's largest humanitarian agency. A proposal to hand the stocks to aid organizations that can distribute them. It's on hold. That's according to the US source and two former USAID sources briefed on the proposal. The plan, it's waiting approval from the State Department's Office of Foreign Assistance. The two former USAID sources. That's what they said. The office is headed by Jeremy Lewin. He's a 28 year old former operative of Elon Musk's Doge who is now overseeing the decommissioning of usaid. And we're going to call it Doge because as someone said, when you spell it out, it gives it actual reputation and it doesn't deserve it. You do say diversity, equity, inclusion, but.
Alison Gill
You say Doge, the so called Doge, right?
Dana Goldberg
That's right.
Alison Gill
28 year old former operative of Musk. So that's where Doge is. Since you were asking. They're making sure that food doesn't go out and has to be destroyed and doesn't feed anyone. Next up from Politico. A federal appeals court has left in place an order requiring the Trump administration to seek the return of a Venezuelan man deported in March from the United States to Seacote, the prison in El Salvador. A panel on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals voted 2 to 1 on Monday to deny the Trump administration's request to block the order that a federal judge in Maryland gave after concluding that the man, Daniel Lozano Camargo, was deported in violation of a legal settlement involving asylum seekers who entered the US as minors. The Trump administration delivered Lozano Camargo to el Salvador on March 15th when it sent several planes full of deportees to Salvadoran custody. The flights came just hours after Trump's invocation of the Alien Enemies act, which is a war power intended to speed the deportation of Venezuelan immigrants deemed by US Officials to be part of the gang trend. Aragua. Lozano Camargo was among about 130 Venezuelans deported under Trump's proclamation that day. And according to the Cato Institute, by the way, they have found that at least 50 of those 200 some men that were deported or disappeared to Seacote never broke the law and were actually here legally.
Dana Goldberg
My goodness.
Alison Gill
So. But last month, Judge Stephanie Gallagher, she's a Maryland based Trump appointee, she actually ordered the administration to facilitate Lozano Camargo's return, saying the breach of the 2024 settlement required him to be brought back to get due process. Justice Department lawyers urged the appeals court to reverse Gallagher's ruling, saying the breach of the 2024 settlement required him to be brought back to receive due process. Justice Department lawyers urged the appeals court to reverse Gallagher's ruling, saying the judge had intruded on executive branch authority by ordering US Officials to reach out to their Salvadoran counterparts to seek the release of Lozano Camargo, referred to in public court filings by the pseudonym Christian. Quote, the government cannot facilitate Christian's return telepathically. It must express in words to the government of El Salvador that Christian can be released for transport back to the United States. That's what Judge DeAndrea Benjamin, a Biden appointee, wrote for the 4th Circuit Appeals Court panel. Now, Judge Julius Richardson, a Trump appointee on the Fourth Circuit, actually dissented.
Dana Goldberg
Wow, there's a surprise. Thank you, Alison. This one's from Reuters. This piece of shit. That's all I have to say. The U.S. senate, and I mean, you could think I'm talking about the US Senate, but I'm not. The UNS Senate on Monday confirmed Charles Kushner. Who's that? Yeah, he's the father of Donald Trump's. Son in law, Jared. And he's also the recipient of a presidential pardon after his conviction for witness tampering and tax evasion. He has been tapped to be the ambassador to France. Uh huh. French are gonna fucking love him. The Senate backed Kushner. 51, 245. Senate Cory Booker, who represents Kushner's home state of New Jersey, was the only Democrat to vote, along with Trump's fellow Republicans, in favor of the nomination. I'm not sure about that one. I didn't look into it.
Alison Gill
Yeah. No. Cory Booker voted yes.
Dana Goldberg
It seems odd at best. Now, Senator Lisa Murkowski from Alaska, she was the only Republican to oppose it. So there you have that.
Alison Gill
Well, Cory Booker's from New Jersey and so is Kushner.
Dana Goldberg
Yeah. Still, this guy's a piece of shit. I don't know if everyone remembers, he pleaded guilty in 2005 to 18 federal counts, including tax evasion, retaliating against a federal witness, and line to Federal Election Commission. He served two years in prison, the maximum, by the way, allowed in a plea deal. But prosecutors at the same time learned that Kushner. Charles. Yes. His father learned that his brother in law was operating. This is was in Mary Trump's book. This guy's just a piece of work. Kushner learned that his brother in law was cooperating with the federal investigation and hired a prostitute to lure him to a motel room for an encounter, recorded it with a hidden camera, and then sent the tape to the brother in law's wife, Kushner's sister. Piece of shit. By the way, Trump pardoned Kushner, whose son, as you know, is married to Ivanka, and he pardoned him in 2020. I know. I can't. I mean, I don't want to keep saying I can't believe it. This one I didn't see coming. I don't know why, but I didn't. And he's just a piece of work.
Alison Gill
Yeah. And by the way, the father and son, the Kushners, they're the ones who got the $1.8 billion bailout for their 666 Fifth Avenue building. The devil building.
Dana Goldberg
And where did that come from? Where the money comes from.
Alison Gill
Cutter.
Dana Goldberg
Ah, thank you very much.
Alison Gill
Yeah, you're welcome. Also from Politico, the GOP mega bill, which I call the billionaire bailout bill, is undergoing some significant changes in the House as conservative hardliners, moderates, and blue state Republicans angle to shape the bill to their liking ahead of a potential floor vote this week. Conservatives are still pushing for controversial changes to the federal share of Medicaid payments, which could lead to major massive benefit cuts. But House Republican leadership, moderates and the White House are all still resisting that effort, according to two Republicans granted anonymity to describe the private talks. Medicaid work requirements, though, are expected to be phased in over two years, addressing the hardliners push to speed up the previously planned 2029 implementation. The draft bill, however, includes multiple waivers of those provisions that states can pursue, and those waivers are not expected to substantially change. Hardliners also secured a rough agreement from the speaker of the House over the weekend to speed up the phase out of clean energy tax credits enacted under Joe Biden, though the parameters of how quickly that happens are still in a major sticking point in the GOP conference, one of the biggest battles is over whether so called shovel ready projects will be hit as hardliners are pushing for them to be Some Republicans bristled at the weekend changes. The speaker greenlit Reps. Andrew Garbarino of New York and Marionette Miller Meeks of Iowa, who have been defending many of the tax credits, were both at Pope Leo XIV's inauguration as GOP leaders agreed to some of these demands to, you know, scale backs. They just wait. They sent them to Pope Leo's thing so that they could do this in.
Dana Goldberg
The middle of the of course they did. They're just sketchy.
Alison Gill
Lawmakers are still negotiating over the cap on the state and local tax deduction called salt, a major issue for a group of blue state Republicans. House Speaker Mike Johnson will meet Monday night with moderates concerned about changes to Medicaid, SALT and federal pensions. Federal pensions are also on the line. This is just disgusting. They you know, the Moody's downgraded our credit rating because it caught this thing is we have too much debt. It's causing going to cause too much debt in the future. So these hardline Republicans are like, well we got to cut more earned benefits. They don't call them earned benefits, they call them entitlements. We're going to cut those for the people so that we can keep our tax cuts for our rich donor friends and ourselves. It's and disgusting.
Dana Goldberg
I just can't.
Alison Gill
Dana, I need some good news.
Dana Goldberg
Okay, I'm gonna give you some good news. A federal judge has rejected the Justice Department's effort to repay 63,000 to a member of the January 6th mob who filmed the fatal shooting of Ashley Babbitt and then sold the footage for profit. John Sullivan, who was freed from a six year jail sentence of course, after Trump's sweeping day one pardons, he had forfeited those profits to the federal government as a consequence of criminal conv. As he should have. After Trump wiped out his case, Sullivan asked the court to permit him to reclaim the money. He forked over the Justice Department. And then interim U.S. attorney Ed Martin, he sided with Sullivan, but U.S. district Judge Royce Lambert said Tuesday that a quick refund would be unconstitutional. Sullivan's funds had been deposited into the US Treasury. That's what he noted. And under the Constitution's appropriations clause, only Congress can authorize the disbursement of funds held by the Treasury. However, we've also seen that's not happening these days, so we'll see what happens there. And I quote, money is money. The treasury is the Treasury. And the Constitution says what it says, once money is in the treasury, it can only be withdrawn pursuant to a congressional appropriation. This is the Reagan appointed judge, by the way. And he wrote, all that matters is that funds may not be drawn from the treasury without an appropriation, plain and simple.
Alison Gill
Excellent.
Dana Goldberg
I would love to see other people quote this judge when shit happens and Congress all of a sudden loses control of the purse.
Alison Gill
Yeah, they've already in some cases. And that genuine resolution, they allowed Trump to kind of move money around that they didn't appropriate for certain things. They've already clawed back tens of billions of dollars on the inflation reduction act on climate stuff.
Dana Goldberg
Yep.
Alison Gill
They've canceled that food aid. Like they're just shutting all this down. All of this stuff approved by Congress. Yeah, yeah, it's gross. But that is good news. I'm very glad Judge Lamberth is not letting this guy have his $63,000 back.
Dana Goldberg
Seriously.
Alison Gill
All right, everybody, time for some good trouble. What are you guys doing? Well, today's good trouble was going to be to leave a review on Amazon for Jake Tapper's stupid book, but Amazon was forced to limit reviews of the book. According to Raw Story, the landing page for the book Original Sin contains zero review.
Dana Goldberg
Huh.
Alison Gill
When you click to leave a review, you get a warning that says, Amazon has noticed unusual reviewing activity on this product. Due to this activity, we've limited this product to verified purchase reviews. So you gotta buy the book if you want to leave a review, I guess. Fuck Amazon.
Dana Goldberg
I'm like, yeah.
Alison Gill
I don't have to buy the book to know what's in it. That's all he's been fucking talking about on CNN for the last week.
Dana Goldberg
Seriously.
Alison Gill
Now, I'm all for reviewing mistakes of the past. So that we don't repeat them, but sure. Really? Do you really think that Democrats were fooled by Biden's age, that his aides pulled the wool over our eyes and we didn't know how old he was? Or is it more likely that low information voters were fooled by Trump?
Dana Goldberg
Yes.
Alison Gill
Where's that book? Anyway? Anyway, your good trouble today is to contact the attorney general of New Jersey, the awesome guy Matt Platkin, whose statement I read, and ask him to look into a law in New Jersey code called 3.12, malicious prosecution action based upon a prior criminal proceeding, and to look into that in the case of Mayor Ras Baraka. Basically, if somebody comes in and prosecutes somebody and then drops the charges and never had any real evidence to begin with, that's a crime in New Jersey. So you can use this email to let them know what you think about Alina Haba and whether or not she violated 3.12 by arresting and then dropping the case against Mayor Baraka. The email is dcjtiplinejdcj.org DCJ is the the Criminal Criminal Division, Division of Criminal justice. Okay, so it's DCT tipline jdcj.org and we'll have the link to that email along with a link to the law code 3.12, malicious prosecution based on a prior criminal proceeding in the show notes for you. So that is, since we can't leave an Amazon review for Jake Tapper's book, that is your good trouble today.
Dana Goldberg
Take it up.
Alison Gill
Do it, do it, do it, do it. All right, everybody, we have to take a quick break, but we'll be right back with the good news. We'll be right back. Hey, everybody. I used to wake up feeling more tired, tireder than when I went to bed. My old mattress had become a battle. It was too firm, too hot, unsupportive. I'd wake up stiff, sore. It had dips in it. From where I was sleeping, I was very frustrated. I kept chalking it up to adulthood or stress or the orange guy in the White House. But a friend of mine told me about Helix Sleep and I found out I'd been sleeping on a mattress made for someone. They could not stop raving about how much it helped with their sleep issues. And honestly, I was really curious. So I went to their site, took the Helix Sleep quiz, and was matched with the Helix Midnight mattress built for side sleepers like me who need pressure, relief and balance support. And from the very first night, I noticed the difference. I didn't toss or turn or wake up, overheated like I used to, the mattress felt cool and supportive, but still plush enough to sink into. And within a week, the back pain that I'd been dealing with for years started to fade. Even better, my sleep tracker showed a consistent 30% increase in deep sleep. I felt it too. I would wake up before my alarm. I'm not reaching for the snooze button three times anymore, and I have way more energy and patience throughout the day. Helix didn't just fix my sleep, though. It improved my mornings, my focus, my whole day, my general quality of life, my health. It's been one of the best updates I've ever done in years. So if you're waking up tired or uncomfortable and you think your mattress might be the problem, listen to your friends. Listen. Helix is worth it. Go to helixsleep.com dailybeans for 27% off site wide plus a free bedding bundle, which is a sheet set and a mattress protector with any luxe or elite mattress order. I just want to first of all, for the Good News segment here, I want to ask for good vibes. I've been asked tentatively to do something really, really cool.
Dana Goldberg
Okay?
Alison Gill
And I can't tell you what it is, but I really want to do it. So everybody, send me your good vibes. Light a candle, do some chance blood magic. Whatever you need to do.
Dana Goldberg
Blood magic, everyone. I don't know if you heard that, but if you do blood magic, I'd like to talk to you.
Alison Gill
You can use grape juice.
Dana Goldberg
We could use a few things from you, Sage.
Alison Gill
Whatever you need to do, send me the good vibes. I really would like to do this one thing and I'll tell you about it if I get to do it. All right, first up from Bruce Pronouns he and him. Thanks for the great show, AG and DG. Quick correction. There is another a fourth credit bureau. Their credit freeze info is innovis.com personal securityfreeze It's I N N O V I s. We'll have a link in the show notes. Also, thanks for the interview a while back about the podcast the man who calculated death while not as close in time proximity, it made me think of my great grandfather, an apparently prolific inventor who held a number of patents and may have patented an early battery operated flashlight that was actually produced, at least in limited numbers. But he was also an officer in an Alabama cavalry unit in the Civil War. So let me close by recommending the charismatic Megaplastics episode. I haven't laughed that hard since the first time I saw Blazing Sadd or Monty Python's Life of Brian the Charismatic Megaplastics. Good news will never, ever get old. It just won't.
Dana Goldberg
It won't. It's the best.
Alison Gill
It's a classic. Now, the episode happened to come out on January 5, 2021, the day before the insurrection, but you can hear Dana say, how many impeachable things is he going to do between now and January 20th? I don't trust him. Something's up. It's. It's a pretty. It's pretty interesting episode. Episode up. My podbet tax is from October 2022 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Since it's a plant sculpture of a dog, the breed is whatever you say it is.
Dana Goldberg
Oh my God.
Alison Gill
It's very Adorable. Thank you so much, Bruce. We appreciate you.
Dana Goldberg
This is from Kirsten, NPA one pronoun. She and her hi Leguminati leaders. Thanks for all your good work. I rely on it to keep looped in with news since I can no longer bear to listen to corporate media. Yeah, you and me both, sister. I want to shout out this sixth grader in Pennsbury School district from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, who had the courage to ask a question at the Congressman Ro Khanna's town hall that invisible Bucks county hosted this weekend. Her question was staggering and it was are we safe? And the Congressman's response was honest and sensitive. It's a great video and I hope your listeners will appreciate it as much as we did. We give this young girl a standing ovation. I'm going to skip the pod pet tax since I have drowned you with pics of my rescue pibble mix honey often enough. But there is a link to this video that's going to be in our show notes. And I'm telling you, the kids are all right.
Alison Gill
Oh man, this is just incredible. And by the way, PA01 is one of my favorite districts in the country. So Bucks County. I mean, how many Leguminati do we have in Bucks County, Dana?
Dana Goldberg
A lot. A lot.
Alison Gill
Yeah, we really, really do. So this is incredible. Yeah, I had a fifth grader at the Darrell Issa Empty Chair Town hall that just brought the whole all thousand of us to our feet with a standing ovation with their question. So this is fantastic. And again, we'll have a link to that video in the show notes. All right, next up from Anonymous. Oh my God, it's a tuxedo.
Dana Goldberg
That's cute.
Alison Gill
In light of National EMS Week and the great work done by EMTs and paramedics across the country, I wanted to share a small story. I'm an emergency physician at a small critical access hospital in Virginia. We had a patient fall 30ft and suffer a life threatening head injury. I'm thankful for the professionalism of the two volunteer EMTs who brought the patient to the hospital where I was working so that our team could stabilize him and put him in a helicopter to a large level one trauma center. Public Services save lives every day. Working with these fine people is such an honor. Warm regards and happy EMS week to all. Here is a photo of my SPCA tuxedo Kitty, who is 12, we think. Anonymous what a wonderful shout out to the incredible EMTs and first responders that you work with. And you are? She's an emergency physician.
Dana Goldberg
It's Amazing.
Alison Gill
He, she. I'm not sure there are no pronouns here, but I am very interested. Anonymous if you have watched the Pit and I would like for you to get back to me on that because that show blows my mind.
Dana Goldberg
Right on.
Alison Gill
Thank you so much for that. Look at this beautiful kitten. What a wonderful baby.
Dana Goldberg
Sweet. I have had my share of with EMS necessities through my life, so I have to give that as well. I was in a very bad car accident when I was younger and they got me to the hospital and they showed up when they needed to, that's for sure. All right, this is from Lisa. Pronouns she and her. I want to give a shout out to my friend Kim who turned me on to the Daily Beans. I love the show and I'm so glad for its existence. It's the perfect roundup of current political shit and just enough content, but not too much. Just thank you for that. My favorite coin term is kegsef. Chef's kiss. Perfecto on that one, ladies. Pod Pet Terra photos of my beloved Abby who crossed the rainbow bridge a few years back. She was a. I love people and their description. She was a brat. Made the world her oyster and felt she could do anything and usually did. But I can understand why. She's adorable.
Alison Gill
Look at this little. Some kind of terrier.
Dana Goldberg
Yeah.
Alison Gill
Oh, Lisa Terrier Chihuahua.
Dana Goldberg
Max Wiener dog. It's cute.
Alison Gill
May Abby's memory be a blessing. And Kim, thanks for showing Lisa the Daily Beans. Lisa, welcome. Go check out the charismatic megaplastics episode.
Dana Goldberg
Do it.
Alison Gill
It's. It's like, you know how you join a gang, you got to get jumped in. You want to join the Leguminati, you got to go listen to charismatic megaplastics.
Dana Goldberg
Yes, it's your. What is that? When you get initiated, it's your initiation.
Alison Gill
All right, next up, from Tom Pronouns. He and him. Hello, lovely ladies of the Beans. This past weekend I finally got a chance to go down to Maryland to see my son. He's been up, so it hasn't been long seeing him. Just a long time to go down. So the good news is we got to meet a friend of the POD and unjustified music composer Ben Folds. On Sunday, he was playing at the Howard County Youth Orchestra. It is a well known and truly amazing orchestra. And he put on a wonderful show also filled with shots at the Mango Mussolini. There was a group outside helping people check or register to vote as well. For my pod pet tariff, I went to the National Aquarium where my son started working at the end of last year. A turtle. A caiman above and below the water. And a bird watching photo.
Dana Goldberg
Wow, look at that turtle.
Alison Gill
Tom, I'm glad you got to meet Ben. He's truly a fucking majestic dude. So. Oh, look at the babies. These are great photos.
Dana Goldberg
They really are so good. Thank you for these. All right. This is from Leslie Pronoun. She and her hi fabulous AG&TG.
Alison Gill
I'm laughing at the pic. I'm sorry.
Dana Goldberg
I know you are. I love you both. Even when one of you hosts solo.
Alison Gill
Oh, thank you.
Dana Goldberg
It's way more fun when you are together and cracking up. I've got an idea. You need pre recorded sound bites to play in real time when one of you is on your own. Like. Yeah. What the actual. Look at the baby. Oh, look at the baby. And some random ridiculous laughter.
Alison Gill
Okay, Dana, we have to do this.
Dana Goldberg
You got it. We're going to record these and put them in the can. Leslie, great idea.
Alison Gill
Oh, I love this idea.
Dana Goldberg
Leslie, this is brilliant. And I. I obviously take off more time than Allison because I travel, but so you're going to be hearing me just pop into episodes going, look at the baby.
Alison Gill
All right, guys, we. We might as well. Anyway, keep on going. Okay, we got them.
Dana Goldberg
All right. We got them. There'll be more. There'll be more. I'm sure of it. I'm sure we have that in. In the can somewhere. We'll pull it. It can't be added in post production. You need to be able to hear the sou time. You hear the laugh, you laugh and then we laugh. Also maybe a random classic mispronunciation too for good measure. I should have done that right there. Maybe I can mispronounce mispronunciation. I almost did. Sharing a couple of baby pictures. My big sister about 1964. This photo was honorable mention in a baby photo contest at Lazarus department store. She's been gone for 17 years now. I miss her every day. I'm so sorry. The other pictures me around 1964. Not a winner, but I've got lots of hair. Love the beans. Keep in keeping us informed and laughing. By the way, I do think your photo, which I think is the first one. Leslie should have not just been an honorable mention. Definitely could have won something.
Alison Gill
Yeah, I. I'm looking at both of these pictures thinking, which one is the winner?
Dana Goldberg
That's what I was trying to figure out.
Alison Gill
Both amazing.
Dana Goldberg
Yeah.
Alison Gill
That's so cute.
Dana Goldberg
I like the little comedian. That's what I like.
Alison Gill
Heck yeah. They're both adorable. Look at the little baby look at the baby. All right, next up from Chris. Pronouns he and him Hi my favorite Lagoon Queens. I'm a vocal blue dot in Texas and I just wanted to write and share the good news that my 18 year old stepson is graduating high school this Friday and is already accepted to the college he'll go to not far from home for their music program. Then we fly to Massachusetts for my 21 NB AFAB step kids college graduation the following day. Ah, it's like bookends Chris. This is amazing. They go to one of them, their woke schools targeted by this administration. They'll be graduating with honors after voluntarily writing an undergrad thesis titled Praise Jesus and Trump Trump Language and Indoctrination Strategies used by the Alt Right and Christian Nationalists, which was accepted with no corrections by the board and they even got to present at a conference as well. Nearly 300 pages long. We're going to turn that into a book, Chris. Longer than most grad school theses. Both of them have little to do with their biological father, so this bonus dad celebrates both of them every chance I get. You two are always my favorite. Go to POD for my drive to and from work. I've been a patron for a long while and enjoy several of the MSW shows, so keep up the good fight. Love you both Chris. Love you back for my POD pet tariff and to boost my awesome bonus sisters Instagram page followers where countless good boys are posted where she posts all the dogs she pets. I'll leave a link in the Instagram spot below. It's OGs. I underscore underscore PET. Two underscores between each dog's eye pet. I'll also share a couple of pictures of our pups. The breed is super easy to guess. Tyrion is the fluffy one and Penny is the darker skinny one. At one time we had four dogs, six cats and two birds. We're down to these two and three cats at home now. Oh Corgi. Oh that second photo is like very professional.
Dana Goldberg
That's the one that won the honorable mention.
Alison Gill
I'm telling you what, this is a baby photo winner right here. This Corgi. Hello sir. Gentlemanly Corgi. My little London gentleman.
Dana Goldberg
They are very cute.
Alison Gill
Adorable. Thank you all so much for your good news. I needed that. I really did. I feel so much better than I did at the beginning of the show. Please send us all your good news news. Flood us with your good news. Even if you're just sending a baby picture saying here's a baby picture so that I can you know, if Dana's out sometime in the next couple days, I can use it. Yeah, and we can use some of these clips. This is such a good idea, Leslie. I'm so.
Dana Goldberg
I mean, brilliant. Yeah, that was really smart.
Alison Gill
And I think. I think it should be put in. In such a way where it's, it's, it's off a little bit. Like, it's not smooth. I'm not trying to make it real. You know what I mean?
Dana Goldberg
I mean, it's up to you when I'm gone.
Alison Gill
Like, remember when we did the sexy justice calendar from Mueller? She wrote, and it was just like really bad photoshopped heads on pinup girl bodies. Andy McCabe was Mr. February.
Dana Goldberg
I mean, as he should be.
Alison Gill
Ah, so good. Those are the days when it was just man. When it was just the Russia investigation. You know, the salad days.
Dana Goldberg
Yeah.
Alison Gill
All right, everybody, thank you so much for sending your good news. And send it to us dailybeanspod.com click on Contact. Any final thoughts? My dear friend? Not today, all right? Are you going to be back tomorrow? Are you traveling again?
Dana Goldberg
I will be back tomorrow. As long as it fits with our schedule. We're going to talk about that right when we sign off.
Alison Gill
So it'll be a surprise.
Dana Goldberg
Surprise. You'll either get clips or it'll be.
Alison Gill
Me, or it'll be the real genuine article. All right, everybody, we'll see you then. However it goes. Until then, please take care of yourselves, take care of each other, take care of the planet, take care of your mental health, and take care of your family. I've been ag.
