Daily beans daily beans daily beans. Hello and welcome to the Daily Beans for Thursday of February 26, 2026. Look at that. Today the Supreme Court deals setbacks to ICE detention contractor in fight over detainee work. A judge says the government may not search devices seized from a Washington Post reporter. A judge has ruled that the Trump administration's third country deportation policy is unlawful. Pete Kegseth is hell bent on trying to punish Mark Kelly. And Larry Summers has resigned at Harvard over his connection to the Epstein files. Alison Gill is still soaking up the sun. So I'm your host, Dana Goldberg. Hey everyone, we made it past the taint of the week. We did it together. Alison is still enjoying her vacation while sometimes keeping herself up to date with the news. And that's okay. I'm so glad you all have stayed with me in this entire week. I'll be happy to have my co host back next week, that is for sure. But later on in the show, we've got a short interview with a comedian who is just kicking ass out on the streets. His name is Cliff Cash. I'm sure you've heard him interviewed before in the Daily Beans. He has a new event on March 7th in Palm beach, so we're going to give you all the information you need to go make some good trouble with Cliff Cash a little later in the show. And just one quick hit from the Associated Press for you. As I said, Defense Secretary Pete Kegseth is appealing a judge's order that blocks him from punishing Democratic Senator Mark Kelly. As we know, Mark Kelly is that former Navy pilot and he participated in a video that called on troops to resist unlawful orders. That's according to a court filing. On Tuesday, Justice Department officials filed a notice that they will ask a panel from the U.S. court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to review the Feb. 12 ruling by U.S. district Judge Richard Leon. Kelly, who represents Arizona, said in a social media post that the only reason Keg set to appeal is to and I quote, keep trampling on the free speech rights of retired veterans and silence dissent. And then he just closed out with saying these guys don't know when to quit. And they don't. They definitely don't know when to quit. So we'll keep you updated with that. For now, Mark Kelly's still winning, but you know, this administration can't admit when they've lost. They really can't. So they're going to keep going and going and going, but we are, too. There's not a crazy amount of news today, which is really wonderful. I think everyone's just hungover from the longest, most boring state of the Union in history, literally in history, which I'm not going to cover on the beans because I don't want to hear his voice drone on and on and on with lies and hatred and transphobia and racism. So we're just going to skip to some other news. So let's do it. Let's hit the hot notes.
B
Hot notes.

All right, everyone. First up from Politico, A long running lawsuit claiming that a private prison contractor broke federal and Colorado law by forcing immigration detainees to work moved closer to trial Wednesday after the Supreme Court unanimously rejected a bid by the company to just toss out the case. The contractor, which is GEO Group, asserted it was entitled to immunity and should not face a civil trial because the firm's detainee work policies were carried out at the direction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. However, the justices said that the degree to which federal officials authorized the detention center's work program was an issue that could be hashed out at trial and a quote from the story if eventually found liable. Gio may of course, appeal. This is Justice Elena Kagan. She wrote for the court's majority, but go must wait until then. The class action lawsuit filed in 2014 focused on practices at GEO's facility in Aurora, Colorado. Immigration detainees there were required to clean all common areas and face possible solitary confinement for failing to comply. They were offered a dollar a day for work preparing food and cleaning laundry at a time when the state's minimum wage was $8 an hour. The civil lawsuit alleges that the arrangement violated a federal law per prohibiting forced labor and because the policies saved labor costs for geo, ran afoul of a Colorado common law prohibition on unjust enrichment. About 1,200 immigration detainees were being held at the center as of January. This is Rep. Jason Crow. He's a Democrat in Colorado. That's what he said following an oversight visit by congressional staff. The Supreme Court's ruling doesn't mean the detainees will win their case, but the company is now likely to face a trial unless the firm settles. Lawyers for GEO argue that putting that burden on the company would make firms less likely to bid for government contracts and ultimately increase costs to taxpayers. But the justices said the company was not entitled to preempt the lawsuit by claiming a form of immunity flowing from a derivative of the federal government's sovereign immunity. Okay, while all the justices agreed that the company's appeal should be dismissed, at this junction we've got Samuel Alito. He did not join Kagan's opinion and Justice Clarence Thomas joined it only in part. GEO stock price spiked it spiked up following President Trump's election in 2024 on investors optimism about a massive expansion of privately run prisons and detention centers by the incoming administration. However, the stock has since dropped below its pre election level. I think a lot of them have lawyers for the detainees and spokesperson for geo, of course did not immediately respond to requests for comments. So we'll keep you up to date on that one. I do have a quick one from the Washington Post. A federal judge in Virginia rejected the Justice Department's request to search through a Washington Post reporter's electronic devices as part of a national security leak investigation, ruling that the court would instead be responsible for conducting the search. And this is the part I love. In a 22 page opinion, Magistrate Judge William Porter admonished the Justice Department, saying the government could not be trusted to conduct the search on its own and that prosecutor's actions and in obtaining a search warrant for reporter Hannah Natenson's home had shaken the deference and latitude that judges typically afford government attorneys. Normally we'd let you do this, but you've already fucked up too many times so we don't trust you. That's exactly what this magistrate judge said. The ruling Tuesday afternoon is a victory, at least in part for the Post Ann Natenson, who said that allowing the government to search through her phone and laptop computer would risk exposing the identities of her sources and could have a to chance chilling effect on future sources who wish to speak to reporters. The court, however, at this time did not order an immediate return of the devices to Nansen, but we'll see what happens there. Obviously I love that they don't trust the Justice Department to do their job, so they're going to go through that instead. Everyone, the story this next one is from the Associated Press. The Trump administration's latest policy of deporting immigrants to third countries to which they have no ties is unlawful and must be set aside. This is from a federal judge. They ruled on Wednesday in a case that already reached the nation's highest court. I feel like I have some good news in this news Hot notes today. It's not all just doom and gloom, which is wonderful. U.S. district Judge Bryony Murphy in Massachusetts agreed to suspend his decision for 15 days, giving the government time to appeal his latest ruling in this case. Murphy noted that the U.S. supreme Court ruled in the administration's favor last year, pausing Murphy's previous decision and clearing the way for a flight carrying several migrants to complete its trip to war torn South Sudan where they had no ties. Murphy said migrants challenging the Department of Homeland securities Policy have the right to meaningful notice and an opportunity to object before they are removed to a third country. The policy, and I quote, extinguishes valid challenges to third country removal by affecting removal before those challenges can be raised. That's what the judge said, went on to say, these are our laws and it is with profound gratitude for the unbelievable luck of being born in the United States of America that this court affirms these and our nation's bedrock principle that no person in this country may be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Well said Murphy. In June, the Supreme Court's conservative majority found that immigration officials can quickly deport people to third countries. Liberal Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson, they dissented on that ruling, saying the ruling gives the government special treatment. Murphy said President Donald Trump's administration has repeatedly violated or tried to violate his orders. Last March, he noticed the Defense Department deported at least six class members to El Salvador and Mexico without providing the process required under a temporary restraining order that Murphy issued. And I quote, the simple reality is that nobody knows the merits of any individual class members claim because administration officials are withholding the predicate fact the country of removal. This is what Murphy wrote, who was by the way nominated to the bench by Joe Biden. Murphy said the DHS third country removal policy has targeted immigrants who were granted protection from being sent back to their home countries where they fear being tortured or persecuted in other ways. Eight men, eight men who were sent to South Sudan in May had been convicted of crimes in the US and had final orders of removal. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had said so Again, another loss in the courts for this administration, which makes me happy. I think the more people push back against this stuff, especially when it comes to due process of anybody in the United States, it doesn't matter how you got here, you have a right to due process under our Constitution. I hope that these laws, they, they continue to fight this. They continue to fight this. Last up in this hot notes is more Epstein news. And obviously we've talked about this before in the podcast. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're a Democrat, Republican, independent. I don't care if you are a king or queen, which is probably not the case or anything else, or a prince as we know it. I want everyone who was involved in this Epstein ring, this trafficking ring that went across the entire globe to brought under a prison for the rest of their life. But at least some sort of accountability and we have a little bit with this sort of sort of. It's just another person stepping down. This is from CBS News. Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers is going to resign from his remaining roles at Harvard University over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The school confirmed this to CBS News on Wednesday. Summers is going to retire at the end of the academic year but will remain on leave until then, a Harvard spokesperson said in a statement. Sommer stepped back, by the way, from his public commitments in November after the release of messages between him and the late convicted sect offender. He also resigned from the board of AI company it's called OpenAI and numerous other positions at such places as Bloomberg News, the New York Times and the center for American Progress. And I quote, I have made the difficult decision to retire from my Harvard professorship at the end of this academic year. This is what Summer said in a statement Wednesday. He said, I will always be grateful to the thousands of students and colleagues I've been privileged to teach and work with since coming to Harvard as a graduate student 50 years ago, since 2006 when summer stepped down as Harvard's president. As I said, he hasn't been the president since 2006, but he held what the university describes as one of its most distinguished professorial positions. It's called the Charles W. Elliott University Professor. And this is a quote from Summers, free of formal responsibility. Okay, as president emeritus and a retired professor, I look forward in time to engaging in research, analysis and commentary on a range of global economic issues. Dozens of messages between Summers and Epstein were among the documents from Epstein's estate that were released by the House Oversight Committee in November. Summers, by the way, has not been accused of any wrongdoing, but the emails show that the two communicated on a regular basis, even after Epstein pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in Florida but before he was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019. So, you know, I really do think there should be a ton of pressure for anyone, anyone that is in a position of power, that is involved with Epstein in any sort of nefarious way. I do think they should be out of the public eye. I do. I don't think they should be in a forward facing position. I'm sure people could argue with me on that, but it's just where I stand. I would like to see more accountability though. We've got people being arrested and, you know, in the UK and I sure the hell would like to see some arrests in the United States because they have not happened yet other than Epstein and Galene Maxwell. But I want to see everyone held accountable. All right, everyone, I interviewed a fantastic comedian named Cliff Cash who has some good trouble for you. So we're going to hear about that right after the break. Stay tuned. We'll be right back after these messages. We'll be right back. Hi, I'm Frances Calyer. And I'm Angela V. Shelton. And we're Frangela. You know what you need in your life? The Final Word podcast. Yes, you do.
C
That's right.
D
It is the final word on all things political and pop culture, where we make real news, real funny, where we inspire you so you can hashtag resist, subscribe and get a new episode of the Final Word podcast each week. It's the news we think you need to hear.
C
That's right.
D
We think you need to hear it.
C
Okay. Yeah.
D
It's what we say.
C
So. That's right.
D
And because all we do is give. Every Thursday, you can listen to our hysterical podcast, idiot of the week. We round up the stupid. Because you know what? Somebody had.
C
Okay. All we do is give. Welcome back, everyone. Now, my guest today is doing something massive with his platform. He's a brilliant comedian, but he's turned into a boots on the ground activist organizer, and he's kicking ass. He's originally from Wilmington, North Carolina. He started at Nut Street Comedy, which makes me very happy. But this guy, he's won titles at Port City's Top Comic, Comedy Zone's Almost Famous, Comedy Central's Up Next regionals. He's also performed on standup, NBC, and not only that, he has organized massive protests and marches across this country, including the Revolution will be Televised. We'll make sure of it. And one against the Heritage Foundation. He's got one coming up on March 7, and he is here to tell you all about it. Welcome to the Daily Beans. Cliff Cash.
E
Hey, thanks a lot for having me.
C
So good to see you. A pleasure to finally meet you. I've been following your career for a long time, you know, as comedians that are trying to do something good in the world and not just bring the chuckles, man. You are on the forefront. You have a massive platform and you are using it really, really well. So let's talk about the event you've got coming up, and I want to circle back to it. I kind of want to sandwich the interview. So tell me what you've got coming on on March 7, because I want people out there with you, and I Want them to know how to find you.
E
So I really want to kind of make some noise. Very close to Mar a Lago.
C
Nice.
E
I think it's important for all of us, as activists and citizens resisting this nonsense, to try to make these fascists nervous. You know what I mean? Like, and they're. And they're not necessarily nervous by us gathering in parks, in cities a thousand miles from D.C. or from where they live. So the only way you can really organize in West Palm beach is in a very orderly way. So I rented the Meyer Amphitheater, and I'm putting on a show, essentially, that is my standup music from Earth to Eve and then poetry from Robert Arnold.
C
Fantastic.
E
Yeah, they're both brilliant. They're both really important voices in this moment.
C
I love Earth to Eve. I've been following her music. I found her on Instagram, and her lyrics are just fucking brilliant. If anyone gets a chance, definitely Google Earth to Eve and give all the support in the world, as well as Robert Arnold and his poetry. So you've got this theater. People can obviously buy tickets.
E
Yep. They're on my website, comediancliffcash.com I'm calling the show 3 Miles to Mar a Lago. Cause that's where it's taking place.
C
Okay.
E
And I'm just encouraging folks to wear comfortable shoes.
C
I love that. Not saying why, but just saying that you need to do it. This is a brilliant way. This is a brilliant way. Because like you said, it's really hard to get together and protest anywhere near that part of the country. And so to do it under the guise of a show, which there will be, and then maybe just a little light exercise. Maybe just a little light exercise after the show.
E
Who knows?
C
Yeah, something like that. We were talking before we started recording about how, like, it's really important. Like, obviously, the no Kings marches are important, but we've gotta do stuff that you said has teeth. Like that's gonna make a difference that, you know, we have other countries. We're babies when it comes to fascism. And you got other countries out there that are marching every fucking day and they're not going to work, and they're you shutting down the economy. And I know that's something that's really important to you when you put these together. Of, like, let's scare them. Let's show them how much power we have.
E
Yeah. I mean, I think that's been my biggest frustration over the last year, the last whatever 13 months is. You know, I really, really appreciate these nationwide protests. I think it's really Important to show solidarity, to let people know they're not alone. The optics of 5 million or 7 million or whatever showing up. But my only critique is, if you're going to mobilize 7 million people, aim them at something nice. Yeah, aim them at something. So instead of everybody going to. Instead of there being a protest in Bethesda and Gaithersburg and Baltimore and Fredericksburg, it's like, get those dozen cities that are close to D.C. and send all those people to D.C. it's an hour or two or whatever away. Let's get a million people to D.C. instead of getting 100,000 to 10 towns around D.C. yeah, let's concentrate these things. Instead of sending people to parks, let's send them to every ICE facility in the country. Let's send them to every Fox affiliate in the country.
C
Definitely. I know you had a massive protest in front of Fox News.
E
Yes. And there's a group going every Tuesday in Manhattan where that's the belly of the beast. That is where the disinformation is created. That's where Gutfeld and Jesse Waters and all those clowns are. And you know, the thing is, is all these Republicans that are bowing down to Donald Trump, I would say. I would say 2/3 of them, maybe 3/4 of them in Congress, know that he's a lying, immoral scumbag with no redeeming qualities. They know he is.
C
Absolutely.
E
But they're scared of him. And what I want to encourage folks to consider is they need to be more scared of the American people than they are of a dying pedophile in a diaper.
C
Absolutely.
E
Because we're not going to be dead in a week.
C
No.
E
And there's tens of millions of us. And if they're not more scared of us than they are of a dying pedophile, then we're not doing our job. And until we do our job, nothing will change.
C
Absolutely. I know you're working with an organization right now in D.C. is that right?
E
Yeah, I work with a lot of different groups, but the one that I'm really the most directly connected to is called Flair, and it stands for. For liberation and resistance everywhere. And Flare is boots on the ground in D.C. literally 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So they have a. They have a physical presence, basically a tent set up on the National Mall right near the Capitol. They've been decamped twice by the feds illegally, despite having a valid permit. There's a lawsuit in the works about it right now, but they literally have a volunteer sitting at that table at that tent 24 hours a day, every single day.
C
Wow.
E
Even if it's 20 degrees outside. Every Monday, they lead people into Congress to push Democrats towards supporting impeachment and to remind Republicans that accountability is coming for anybody that supports fascism. And they're protesting ice. They're protesting Heritage Foundation. They are protesting outside of Butterworth's, which is the MAGA cult hangout. And just berating Steve Bannon with a megaphone three feet from his face.
C
Fantastic. A megaphone and some soap just make the things that scare him most. Just a megaphone and some soap and water.
E
How is that bloated corpse still, I don't fucking know. Crazy. He looks like a dead body that's been floating in a lake for a year.
C
It really does. He's just. You know, my lesbianism flares right up, right up whenever I see Steve Bannon.
E
But, yeah, he is one of the worst people who's almost alive.
C
Yeah. Speaking of almost alive. And I don't want to. I don't want to belabor it too much, but, man. Did you watch any of the State of the Union?
E
I didn't. You know, I intended to at first, and I made a joke about it online, and all my people were like, don't watch it. Keep the ratings low. And I was like, you know what? You're right. I shouldn't watch it.
C
I didn't either.
E
I have to consume the highlights, but I've been on zooms and stuff like that.
C
The low lights. Yeah, I know, exactly. Oh. So it's just ridiculous. But by the end of it, because he wanted to break his own time record, he did look like weekend and Bernie's like, they just had him propped up with J.D. vance's hand up his ass, making sure he could talk because he was sitting right behind him like it was bad.
E
Caroline Levitt massaging his cankles while he burps out his last lie.
C
Oh, my God. Oh, man. You know, the way you talk about keeping the pressure. I've been. I've been watching your reels for a very long time. Cliff walks around. Where do you live, by the way? Right now, I live in a very
E
red part of North Carolina.
C
That's what I thought.
E
Southeastern North Carolina on the coast. Yeah. It's one of the reddest counties, I think, in the country. And I think what you're gonna say is, my hat.
C
I am. Cliff is walking around one of the reddest parts of North Carolina with a red hat that fools people and says Trump is a pedophile.
E
This one says, my grandpa killed Nazis.
C
Oh, there's a new one. My grandpa killed Nazis. You've got all kinds of hats.
E
I sell these on my website.
C
But what is your website? So people can find it when they need it.
E
It's comediancliffcash.com great. I also have one that says impeach the pedophile. We have one that says real men are kind, nice. We're working on one that says nooses for Nazis. Bunch of different.
C
Bunch of them.
E
Yeah. We have other stuff, too. My fiance makes really, like, well done, artistic, like antifa merch. She has these shirts that are all like beautiful wildflowers. If you look really close down at the bottom, it says like, fuck Donald Trump.
C
Donald Trump. I love that. That's the best way to get. Oh, look how beautiful that. Oh, oh, oh. That's exactly what it is. Now, it's funny because I know that people come for us on social media and, you know, you've got this MAGA in your comments, not realizing that every time they comment, that puts a little dollar in your pocket because of the algorithm, which is great. So, yeah, just fucking troll the shit out of everybody. Trust me. The influencers and the people with massive followings. Every time the hate comes in, you know, their bank account goes up. But walking around with these hats, and even you said it, you get more high fives than you do people telling you that, you know, that's, you know, they don't like your ha. There's a lot more people in those areas than we think. There's still more of us than there are of them.
E
100%.
C
Way more. Do you feel like we need to pull? And I don't mean, like, pull in the other side, but I think there's a lot of people in this country that did maybe vote for him or voted independent or maybe never voted that are like, this is not the country I want to be in. You think they're reachable? You think we can use them?
E
You know, I think, I think if anybody's still on board with maga, I don't necessarily think they are reachable because
C
I actually agree with that.
E
There ain't no proof is like, if this isn't enough proof, there is no such thing as enough proof for you. But I do think the ones that are jaded that are pissed off about ICE or tariffs or Epstein stuff, I do think that some of those folks are reachable. And my humble opinion is the best way to reach them is by amplifying progressive veterans. People that can get on a microphone or an iPhone screen or whatever and say, hey, I'm a combat veteran.
C
Definitely.
E
I work on cars.
C
Yeah.
E
I like football.
C
Yep. I own a gun. I own a gun.
E
And this guy's not just a traitor to this country. He's not just a pedophile. He's not just a rapist. He's not just a con man. He's also a weakling. He's like, he's a soft handed, weakling rich boy who's literally never worked an honest day in his life. He's never held a hammer. He's never broken a sweat doing physical labor. Not once.
C
No.
E
There's nothing alpha about licking that guy's boots. There's just not.
C
No, I agree. I was so disgusted because I just saw a couple of clips from the State of the Union. These guys are shaking hands with him and the women, the women that are still fucking shaking hands with this guy, you know, he's a pedophile. You know, he sexually assaults women. What are you doing? Like, the amount of disrespect, like, it's just mind blowing to me. I'm glad some of the US Men's hockey team, five of the players said, no, I'm not going. The rest of it was. They're just being used as props. Yeah. And it's just. Yeah, it's, it is, it's a lot. It's a lot. But we, we can't focus on everything that they throw at us because otherwise it would drive us absolutely crazy. So the things we need to keep doing is get out in the streets, mobilize. But like you said, something makes a difference. I love, I love this event for March 7th. So just going to go over it again for people that are joining late in the interview. Cliff Cash has a new event. It's a new event on March 7th. It's called Three Miles from Mar a Lago. And he rented the. Is it the Meijer Amphitheater in West Palm?
E
Yes, Meyer Amphitheater. And it's right in West Palm. It's like downtown, walkable to all the bars and restaurants. It's a really cool location. It's going to be, it's going to be awesome.
C
Okay. And for those of you that this isn't just, you know, there's gonna be some exercise after the show, but this is gonna be a really great show. I mean, you get Cliff's comedy, you get music from Earth to Eve, we've got poetry from Robert Arnold. These are three artists that if you have not seen live, you wanna see Cliff is absolutely brilliant. I love that you are selling out clubs and theaters all over the country. Cause this massive platform you built. So not only are you making a difference and getting people in masses going toward a destination, you're making us laugh and we need it more than ever. More than ever. Well, thanks. Yeah. So how can people follow you on the social media as well as going to your website?
E
I'm Cliff Cash Comedy on all social media. The website is comediancliffcash.com and in relation to the event, we're also gonna have a lot of really great speakers. One of the speakers is someone I've become good friends with. Her name is Ariane and her father is currently being detained in Alligator Alcatraz. She's going to talk about that. She has gone from being a tour guide on a boat to being a full time activist for the workers circle and organizing the vigil at Alligator Alcatraz every Sunday. The head of the revolutionary Black Panther Party will be speaking. I mean, it's just an incredible lineup. It's going to be really awesome.
C
It sounds extraordinary. I wish I could get down there March 7th. I'm actually, I'm going to be on the other coast. I'll be in la, but this sounds fantastic. If you're anywhere near West Palm, anywhere near. Make sure you get tickets to this event. Cliff cashcomedy.com is that where Cliff Cash
E
Comedy is my social. It's Comediancliffe Cash is my website.
C
Thank you, comedian Cliff Cash for tickets to this event. Cliff, you're an absolute fucking joy. If you do not follow Cliff on social media, do it just for the catharsis alone, but you're making a difference. It's an absolute pleasure to meet you and thanks so much for joining us on the beans.
E
Thank you very much.
C

All right, everyone, it's time for the good news. Good news, everyone, then good news, everyone. I just want to say before we go in, Cliff is so amazing. If you have a chance and you are in the area and you feel safe, first of all, go for the show. Go for the show on March 7th in Palm Beach. Comedians, incredible musicians, poets, just go have some joy. It's going to be a fantastic show. So join them. And if you have good news that you want to submit to us, you can go to DailyBeansPod.com, click on Contact and send me your lyrics, your wooby stories, your shared swears. Find the cat. What the mud. Happy places. Shit. Kids say I love those anything. Make sure you attach a pod pet picture or your tariff, if you will. It could be a picture of an animal, a baby. One of your happy places. We've seen so much. Some of you are very artsy and send us your work and I absolutely love that. So continue to do those. All right, send them in because we'd love to see it. We're going to start you off with some good trouble, as we always do. This is a bird watching edition from Marina. Pronouns she and her. The foraging habitat for Jackie. Oh, Jackie and Shadow. Okay. I love Jackie and Shadow. I love that you submitted this. The foraging habitat for Jackie and Shadow. The Big Bear bald Eagle mated pair is in jeopardy. This mated pair of bald eagles have the popular live stream of their nest. Last year they had two chicks that we were able to watch from hatchlings to flying from the nest. It was magical and it was so beautiful. The Friends of Big Bear Valley and other volunteer groups are trying to buy the area from a developer who wants to build luxury housing on the land called Moon Camp. Here is a link to the website. For more info. It's savemooncamp.org so we're going to please go check that out. We're also going to give you a link to the live stream. If you don't watch Jackie and Shadow. It really is beautiful. You get to see them through the winter and the summer and how they take care of each other and the build the nest and take care of the eggs. It's just extraordinary. So, Marina, thank you so much for the submission. Good trouble. Go to savemooncamp.org and get some information on how to fight this. Oh my God, look at these little tiny eaglets. Are they called eaglets? I think they're called eaglets. If they're not called eaglets, they are called eaglets now. Oh, my God. Thank you so much for that. And there's another picture for me. Okay. This is from Renee. Pronoun. She and her hello dg nag too, who so wisely took vacation during the state of the Union week. Love you all. You keep me sane. New Hampshire's governor is Kelly Ayotte. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Ayotte. I don't know what I said, but I definitely didn't say that if there's a correction being sent in. So thank you. Thanks for all the good news. My tariff pick is baby Leo, our fifth great nephew born in the last 17 months. He's a cutie. He sure is, Renee. Oh, little baby. I love it. All right, this next one's from Merrily's. No pronouns given New Hampshire sister here. Although I love the sound of peyote. It's pronounced because I was saying, I guess a yodi. I was saying a yodi is pronounced with a long a plus yacht. So a yot as the name. Ayotte. Thank you. Yes. By the way, it was a ton of public protests that clinched this. Thanks a lot. Here is Poppy, my blank, almost 10 months old. And this looks a whole lot like a goldendoodle. What do we have here? It's a moyin poodle. A moyen poodle. Well, it's very, very cute. Marilees, thank you so much for the correction. And moving on, we've got Ashley and baby Lucy. Pronouns, she and her. I had a baby six months ago, and my freezer qu quickly became filled with milk due to an oversupply. Instead of buying a deep freeze in this economy, I research places to donate. I found a nonprofit called Mother's Milk bank of North Texas. They take donated milk and process it for babies in the NICU across North Texas. Every ounce donated is turned into three feedings for a baby in the nicu. It feels great knowing I'm helping these little ones when they need it most. Pics attached to baby and puppy. This is really cool. Ashley and little baby Lucy. Oh, the rolls on the legs and the smile and the chubbers. I just can't. Oh, so cute. Oh, my God. And the dog. The puppy next to this baby is fantastic. That's definitely their next album cover. If they put out an album, this has to be it. Ashley. Okay, Promise me. Promise me. All right, the next one's a quick one from Kelly, say, or Sia. That one. Kelly. Sia, I hope pronoun she and her shout out to Al Green, who exercised free speech at the State of disunion. Love it. I've included a photo of my English angora rabbits, Cupid and Arrow. These bunnies are adorable. Thank you for the very quick one. And yes, Al Green had an amazing sign. I'm going to cover that on the beans talk. But he was one of the only people, in my opinion, that protested the way he should have because he had a sign up. And I'm going to. I may misquote it here, but it said black people are not apes, obviously referring to that horribly racist video that the President of the United States put on Truth Social. So, Al Green, we are very, very proud of you. And thank you, Kelly, for the submission. This is from Jared. No pronouns given. Hey, everyone. Here's a picture of the faux card catalog I built. I took this from a fallen tree to slabs of wood to furniture. I give you this as an antidote to the state of the union. This is absolutely gorgeous, Jared. Well done. Thank you. Thank you. All right, next up, from Chloe. Pronoun she and they. Hi, AG and dg. I wanted to share some things I've been working on lately. I love the craft, but prefer to have a purpose for crafting. So I've been making lots of things to give to people in my circles. Provided is a picture of some valuable Valentine's I made and distributed, as well as an emotional support pickle I crocheted for a birthday gift. I would love to make things help intact, positive change, but I'm unsure of any organizations that could use it. Let me know if you know of any. This is best. Chloe, these are absolutely beautiful. Okay. This emotional support pickle, I might need one. Chloe, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I might need a whole jar of emotional support pickles. Oh, I love this. I actually wish. I hope you can sell these. I'm not sure if you have an Etsy or anything like that, but I think a lot of people would buy emotional support pickles and then you could donate to whatever organization you wanted to. I love the good news. Thank you for the corrections, especially when Allison's not here, because I know probably I say things that in live time she would catch me on that she's not here to do so. So that's why I lean on you all, because there's anything. I know you will not hold back on your corrections. So thank you. I actually do appreciate them very much. As always. Tomorrow we're going to have John Fugle saying for Fuqua saying Fridays, it's going to be my last day flying solo, but man, it has been quite the week. And you know, I just have so much respect for Allison in general, but the fact that she balances and juggles not just this podcast but the others as well, just mind blowing. It's mind blowing. I've got all my other work and so all of this on top of it. I just sometimes don't know how she does it. I don't. But thank you so much for being here with me. We've got one more show for this week, so join me tomorrow. Until then, be what does it say? Take care of yourself, take care of each other, take care of the planet, take care of your mental health and take care of your family. Allison will be back with us next week and I've been your host. DG and them's the Beans.

“Every time the hate comes in, you know, their bank account goes up. But walking around with these hats… you get more high fives than… people telling you they don’t like your hat. There’s still more of us than them.” [26:13]
Dana Goldberg delivers the episode with her characteristic mix of wit, righteous anger, and encouragement, always with a nod to grassroots power. Both Dana and Cliff embrace frank language and biting humor about the far-right and the state of national politics, but ground their snark in practical organizing advice and calls for solidarity.
Today’s episode breaks down recent progressive wins in the courts, exposes the continued fallout from the Epstein scandal, and spotlights how creative activism—combining comedy and direct action—can challenge power close to home. Cliff Cash models how to “make good trouble” even (especially) in deep-red areas, while the host and listeners celebrate small wins and resilience across the nation.
