Oh, Magic City money. Welcome back to the alley oop. My sister Trista is flying across the world today. So I called in the best reinforcement I can. My sister, Lala Shepherd. Man, how you doing, dawg?
B
Juju, I am doing awesome. Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited for this.
A
Come on, man, tell them folks about what you be having going on in Atlanta, Georgia. Man, tell them folks a little bit about yourself.
B
Absolutely. Nice to meet everybody. My name is Lala Shepherd. I am actually celebrating my 10 year anniversary of building my own media company right here in Atlanta. Our company is called the Progress Support Media Group. We cater to artists, entrepreneurs, DJs, producers, and pretty much we're just a plug and the connection, just making everything make sense. We provide content, interview spaces and stuff like that. So yes, that's what I do.
A
Come on, man. Come on, man. And I love if you don't. Now you do.
B
Yes, sir.
A
Yeah. Okay. Look at that. Look, it's a tie right back. Not only is she in the scene with the eerie, eerie music, she actually loves hoops and the football. The pigs getting whatever you got put in front of me anyway, so I thank you. Look, I think you specially, specially crafted to talk about this subject. Luke Cornett had a lot to say about Magic City Monday night, saying that allowing this night to go forward without protest would reflect poorly on us as NBA community. Specifically being complicit in the potential objectification and mistreatment of women in our society.
B
Wow.
A
Now, me personally, I think his heart is in the right place. You know what I mean? I don't want to stone the brother, you dig, But I think he's a little misinformed of what actually Magic City is though.
B
Yeah.
A
What do you got to say on this topic, sis?
B
You know, I, I thought when I first heard about it, it, I didn't even blink an eye. I thought it made perfect sense. I said, you know, if anybody can do this, it is the Atlanta Hawks. It makes sense. I think, you know, when I think of Atlanta, it's, it's taboo already, but it is Women's history month, so this is perfect. But I do want to acknowledge Luke's comments. I do think from a female perspective, I was so just happy and proud to see a guy of his caliber, you know, stand up for what he, he thinks is right. In regards to, you know, women being disrespected, I do want to acknowledge that. I think that's awesome because, you know, women, we do need protection. However, we're talking about Atlanta culture here. And I do want to give some quick background too. Now, I'm personally from Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Atlanta in 20, and it's nothing like Atlanta. Those places like magic city, strokers. Kamal's 21 enabled me to build my brand, my legacy, and who I am. Because it's so much culture that happens within the strip club. You know, from the outside looking in, it may just seem like one thing, but specifically Atlanta strip clubs such as Magic City, I mean, come on, it's so much. It's so much community, fellowship, networking, just so many opportunities for music, business. And it's also a place for women to thrive. A lot of these dancers, they're. They're not just dancers, you know, a lot of them are like uno. They're business women.
A
Come on.
B
I've had a few of the ladies on my platform, and these women, they're. They're bigger. I mean, they're superstars in their own rights. So for me, I think this is amazing. I think it's a great balance of culture. To me, it's super Atlanta, you know, it only makes sense. It really does. I'm here for it. I think it's a great idea. Pablo in the background.
A
Moving on. Man, the Miss got a big win in the unrivaled league championship miss now, man, over the Phantom. 80 to 74, man. Did you catch it? Lala, what are your thoughts?
B
Oh, man, you know, Yes, I. I want to first acknowledge that unrivaled is so genius. I mean, salute to unrivaled. Can we give it up for, you know, Brianna Stewart and Nafisa Cory? I think this is amazing. Just to see the progression in just one year is. Is just insane. But congrats to the Miss for the big win. I mean, at the end of the day, they were the better team at that particular game. What do you. You gotta say?
A
What do I gotta say? Man, I got. Look. Salute to the Mist. I love big Alicia Gray. You know, I already know what's going on. Atlanta Dream. We love you.
B
Yes.
A
But Natasha Cloud is on the other team. My heart and my soul and my chest and my rib cage, which is the jersey I have on right now.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Tiffany Hayes.
B
Man, I. I love Tiffany Hayes.
A
I was invested. I love Tiffany Hayes. That's my favorite player of all time. I got.
B
Wow.
A
The only thing on my refrigerator is the autographed picture of Tiffany Hayes. Every jersey she ever had, I got it. I got bruh. I love Tiffany Hayes. You feel me? So I'm salty about that loss last night. If you got something to say, we can talk about it. But if not, I want to move on because I'm so disgusted with what transpired in Miami, Florida.
B
You know what? I'll say this, too. Salute to Tip Hayes. We've had her on the progress report as well. I mean, again, I don't have anything bad to say. I have nothing but good things to say. I think, again, unrivaled league. It's just amazing. Like, look how excited we are for women's basketball. And, you know, it's not only us, it's the world. And I just. To me, that's the bigger. That's the bigger thing. That's the win right there, in my opinion. I know you're not trying to hear it
A
too long. So since you went that long, look, I'm just. Go ahead and say it. The referees need to get your eyes checked. How about that referee? It looked like he was going for somebody. The referee looked like he wanted somebody to win. And it might have been the co founder.
B
I can't disagree with that one. I can't disagree with that.
A
Dude, I ain't never seen championship one on the free throw. Moving on. TI versus 50 Cent. The whole family is tearing my boy up. You get a boot in your ass, little bro, Go put your foot on his ass. Please, sis, you gotta shoot for him. The whole family is jumping them right now musically, you feel me? What do you. How important is TI for us? What is this doing for the city? Because I'm amazed and I'm like. Because nobody really ever come at 50 like that. Because, you know, he's already say, Bro, 50 year bully. Right, right. I love it, too. He got the same birthday. I mean, we.
B
We cancel.
A
But, man, what T.I. did and then what Lil King did was very fire. I respect it. But what Damani did. Okay, look, that's the one right there.
B
Just being honest. Being in the Atlanta culture, this is nothing new. We knew Damani Harris was like that. We knew Damani had the bars. We knew Damani was adult lyricist. I think everything happens for a reason. But I will say I think this is a blessing in disguise for the Harris family. But I think this is. It's just. It's a great thing for demani and King. I think, you know, sometimes being a child, I would say star. And your dad is who he is. You know, it's kind of hard to get that recognition as a dope artist, you know, yourself. And I think this was the moment that changed the whole perspective for the world. Because Atlanta, we knew Damani was hard, you know? And I like King as well.
A
Come on, man.
B
But that's Atlanta. And kind of we can refer that back to the Magic City thing. You think TI Is gonna bring out his sons, right?
A
Come on, man. I think he better bring them out, because now it's a family affair. We need the sons expeditiously. Right?
B
I love that.
A
They can go on tour. How many families you know could actually tour themselves? That's like, for real. For real.
B
Pretty dope. Then we got Tiny, Zonique, omg girls. Aris Harris. That might.
A
Come on.
B
Messiah, bruh.
A
Look, look. Cut us in. Cut us in, Tiny. We will talk, have our people hit your people, and we're gonna talk later about that. But moving on, man. Back to sports. We like to. Just because I feel like this is gonna be the first of many visits for you. Who is your most hated team in all the sports? Just so we get to know you. Who can't you stand? Team or player? Who can't you stand?
B
Draymond Green.
A
I'll tell you who I can. Oh, well, I guess we got something coming.
B
That was the one you. I had you put me on. But despite that was the first person. Draymond, who's it gonna be for you?
A
Look, it's gonna be Draymond. I say I'm gonna start off, bro. Draymond been doing a little too much lately, bro. Come on, bro. You've been playing a little too much in our face.
B
Yeah.
A
Acting like Draymond, like it pissing on is saying it's raining, bro. Come on, Draymond. Wake up, bro. Hey, that's good to know. Moving forward.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
In the chat, put. Who is your most hated person in the. All the sports in the chat. If you listen to this or text your homeboy and get that started, man. Lastly, we got some breaking news out of college, man. I can't believe this is a real story. This is just. I'm talking about right now. Breaking news. Police say a coach on the Cal State Bakersfield men's program was moonlighting as a pimp across four states.
B
What?
A
Multiple dismissals have occurred at Cal State's Bakerfield as an investigation probes who knew what and when. Lord Jesus. And that's breaking news out of the college look. Yeah, it just broke, right? I can't speak intelligently on it yet. So we gonna wait for more details to come out before we jump in that, man.
B
Yeah, I think. I think.
A
Right, right, right. Exactly. Hey, Luke Cornett. Huh? Write a letter,
B
you dig?
A
Write your Letter now, Luke. You did. But, hey, moving on, man. We got. We got a segment here at the show called Boy Stop, man. We play a couple videos and we react pretty much. And see who. Who is the culprit of the Boy Stop within the video. Ms. Rebecca, what we got today?
B
Okay, first one up, we've got a college basketball. I mean, I believe it's the coach. He goes a little bananas here, right?
A
Yes. Okay, perfect, perfect. DJ Lala, what would you do if this happened to you? Rolling. Ms. Rebecca, for the listening audience. The coach has been ejected. He cussing out everybody. And wow. DJ speaker over with. And the dj, look, bro, coach done lost his rabid ass mind pushing over the damn speaker, bro. They ain't got nothing to do with the game.
B
You know what's funny? I was actually watching that live when it happened, and I'm like, yo, what is wrong with this guy? I honestly, okay, If I was a dj, I would be so pissed. And I'm suing. I'm suing. Yeah, I'm suing. Why would you.
A
There we go.
B
Why would you not go for my speaker if anything? I mean, get a towel and throw it. I mean, seriously, a speaker. You could have hurt somebody.
A
Let's just say she's suing, right?
B
Seriously, he literally could have hurt somebody.
A
Yeah, exactly. And I know them DJs that you'll be running with. They ain't going for now. Piece of that.
B
That's disrespectful.
A
You better.
B
That's crazy, right?
A
You better keep it in the NCAA bit, bro, and not the streets. Because Miami, Ohio, Coach. Boy, stop, man.
B
Salute to Miami, Ohio. I'm happy for them. They're still undefeated. Good for them.
A
Yeah, they are. Yeah. I mean, respect where it's due. I hope you, you. You keep that attitude in the tournament because now folks gonna be gunning for you.
B
Oh, yeah, especially DJs, right?
A
That's gonna wrap it up for us today, man. Lala, tell them folks, where can they support you? Where can they keep up with you, man?
B
Definitely. Well, on all social media platforms. My handle is Lala Shep. I'll spell it L A, L A A S H, E P. And you can Visit my website, tpr mediagroup.com the progress support. Juju. I appreciate you for having me. I can't wait to do this again.
