Dwayne Dwyane Wade was in the building a couple of nights ago and made very clear his affinity for the Miami Heat and how what the Miami Heat are doing right now is unacceptable and they need to get back to championship level. Not only is he the exact same as Tom Brady is to the Raiders, to the Jazz, but Wade's also a broadcaster. He's on, what is it? Amazon prime, whatever it is. And Wade's telling you, yeah, the Miami Heat.

Well, but which is it? Do we know if Brady's being just neutral and uninteresting or trying to be neutral and uninteresting on purpose? Truth is that he's not rooting for them because he didn't like how it is that he exited there. And he's not actually rooting for Drake May and the Patriots because he doesn't want them to win and he doesn't want to say that that would be the wrong answer. So you say he's saying something, but he's saying less than he could say, which if he were to say flatly, yeah, I don't want them to win for whatever the reason, that's a more wrong answer and also a more interesting answer than the one he gave.

It leads me to believe that he probably doesn't want Drake May to win a championship so quickly because he's very proud of what he built over there. And his whole thing is like, I left, I won a Super bowl right away, and I showed them, and now this gives credence to their rebuild.

It's so easy to say that you're rooting for the Patriots. He chose not to say that, which leads me to believe he's being honest.

Lindsey Vaughn is also being honest. And the Winter Olympics have started and have been drowned everywhere by super bowl and NBA trade deadline. Listen to Lindsey Vonn talking about what it is that she is doing in order to ski in the Olympics. You only get these chances once every four years, and you have to do it in the condition your body is in.

Is it possible to medal in skiing in the Olympic with a ruptured ACL because she. What are you talking about? Like, I get it. The body does not heal on your timeframe. The Olympics go on. Whether you're healthy or not, you get one chance every four years. It seems like an impossible amount of dedication for an athlete. Football players go through a great deal just to get to the 17 Sundays. They're not every four years. Like, the want of these people is crazy. And it doesn't seem safe or smart to be to have a ruptured ACL and try to ski downhill.

And I'm saying that's an advantage. It's a weight advantage to not have your leg in wrestling. And we haven't had that controversial of a take around here.

Yes, sir, man, you already know. See, I'm here in Atlanta, and here in Atlanta, I've been a Haley Jones fan for a couple of years now, if you get my drift. And we gonna clock that. But we talking about unrival right now. How has it been, man? Look, making your debut on Sunday, Philadelphia weekend. How has it been, my sister?

[Haley Jones]

Nah, I mean, it's been great. Getting to travel to Philly was successful. Like, it was 21,000 people deep and we heard all of them. And so to get to be there and experience that was insane. And I just know that things like that are only going to get bigger every season. And yeah, I mean, there's not much to complain about. I'm in Miami playing basketball with some of the best players in the world, getting to know everybody on a personal level. So it's been really fun so far. Haley. I'm in the Bay Area right now. You're stomping grounds from Stanford. Compare the environment in Miami and Philly to what it was like to be a Cardinal in that environment. I mean, Philly was insane. Just being in that Xfinity arena. I think it was like the biggest crowd they've ever had there. So that was crazy. So it was popping and then Miami is much more of like an Intimate environment. It's only a thousand person arena and so it really feels like every fan is courtside, which is, you know, pro and cons with that. You can hear all of their thoughts and opinions. But yeah, Stanford was amazing. I mean, we were a great team and the crowd was always there. The Bay Area community has always loved women's basketball like we've seen with the Valkyries this past season. So I do miss playing Maples, but I'm enjoying all the new experiences now.

[Juju Gotti]

Yeah, man, look, it might be some new experiences, but we can kind of call these breeze a little Cardinal ish. The breeze, the Stanford breeze. We got three, three Cardinals this year so far on the roster. You dig? How has your just your integration into the unrivaled and how fun has it been playing with some of your sisters and some of the new sisters, getting to know.

[Haley Jones]

No, seriously, it's so cool to get to be reconnected with them. I feel like that was something so special about all the Stanford teams, was just how close that we all were. So to be able to be in Miami here with Key now being in the pool with me and getting to reconnect or Cam or Lexi. Atlanta was older than I was, but just still like that Stanford connection is there. So it's really cool to see us all on this stage now and having these opportunities and doing the most with.

[Juju Gotti]

That going from maybe a year or so where you had to work your way back into professionalism and then not only working your way back in, kind of slam dunking at home by being such an important piece on your teams. You did. How has that. How can you share. What can you share in the way of that to the little girl out there that's going through that right now on middle school team?

[Haley Jones]

Yeah, no, I mean, you're right. This past season in the W definitely brought out a new piece of me and I think showed me how resilient I can be. You know, playing for Atlanta, the team I was drafted for for two seasons and then being let go this year and then kind of having a hardship and then ending up being on a team like Dallas and earning a starting role and becoming this impact player, it definitely tested me in ways that I didn't expect to be tested this year. I wasn't expecting it, but I think that that the way that I handled it, I'm very proud of and I think that my people that are close to me are very proud of just the resilience that I showed and you know, willingness to put myself out there and Lay it all out on the line because it's something that I've always dreamed of. So to be able to kind of feel like that hard work has paid off at the end of the year while still, like, keeping that in the back of my mind, like, it really can be gone in an instant. So understanding that it keeps me with a sense of urgency to keep working, to get better. Did you, Haley, when you saw you guys go viral, that you and Paige moment, the coach cock lanes was drawing up the end of the game. You saw that go viral on Twitter or Threads or Instagram. What was your reaction to that? I think I have a really hard time just watching my face. My mom tells me all the time it's. I'm really bad at controlling my facial expressions. And so it really made me understand how many cameras are on us at any given time. I thought I was just blankly staring at it and understanding what coach wanted us to run. And so to see those pictures afterwards and, like, the similarities between me and P or even, like, reek in the side of the video was very entertaining. The amount of people that sent me that meme afterwards, I was like, oh, my God. Like, please stay out of my business. Also, that's my first meme of myself. I was like, oh, please. It could have been something better.

[Juju Gotti]

I seen folks with coats drawing Chinese checkers, arithmetics. Y' all looking like, yeah, yeah, that was classic, man.

[Haley Jones]

Moving on to more exciting and permanent things on the horizon for my sister, or should I say my sister? Oh, put it away. I can't see.

How has that been, man?

It's been good. Yeah. Fiance. Life has been great. I feel like I am the fiance where I love to ask, like, answer any questions. Oh, my gosh.

It was such a surprise, and we got to have a surprise party afterwards that he planned. Family was there. It was so awesome. I just can't stop smiling about it.

Still down in Miami with your boo? Amazingly. Congratulations. Congratulations, man. How important is it to have that strength beside you and that softness when it needs to be soft? And just that partner, man, to help you through all of these situations.

[Haley Jones]

Yeah, I think it's everything, especially going through the roller coaster of a season that I had last year in the W. To have him be, you know, my rock through that, but also continue to challenge me, hold me accountable while still giving me that grace and that space to be vulnerable. I think that he's the best partner. It's. We you know, he was an athlete himself at Stanford, so he knows how it is. And we were best friends for three years before we even started dating. So we know each other inside and out, so he's the best partner I could have.

Owner. Part owner. You did, like, we ain't just talking hoops. We talking business as well, man. How does it feel being in the major league pickleball ownership, man, it's so sick.

Like, I don't think, like, there's certain accolades or things that you, like, reach for. I never thought about putting a professional team, but when the opportunity was brought my way, I was like, why would I ever say no? And so, I mean, the events are great. Getting to go and watch it. I'm now, like, an avid pickleballer on my off day, so it's a very serious thing. I bought a whole membership when I was living in Atlanta, so I played at this pickleball club. So I love playing and I love going to the events and getting to be, like, one of the few women owners alongside another W player like Jewel. It's very cool. And just thinking about my life beyond basketball, the investments I want to have, and the other things in business I.

[Juju Gotti]

Want to do, bruh. So, I mean, a million dollar question right now. Are you fire or are you like, no, I'm so good. I'm, like, legit good.

I know Jewish team had, like, played in some tournaments. I'm a good amateur player. I do know that the older people who be playing at the club are, like, sneaky. Very good. I don't like playing against them. They're very talented. But whenever I take Stephen and I to play, we play against each other, but we can't be on the same team. It's just way too competitive. But, yeah, pickleball is, like, something that I now love. It's so fun.
