Ryan Reynolds
That's right, it's time for against the Spread and it's brought to you by our friends at DraftKings. Stay tuned. Cause you'll hear all about that DraftKings has to offer throughout the show. DraftKings, the Crown is yours.
Lucy
You said it, right?
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah, I nailed it. Lucy, kick us off.
Dan Le Batard
All right. Last sort of weekend of college football for a hot minute. So I'm going to the SEC championship game. Texas, Georgia rematch. I really love Texas minus two and a half here. If you guys remember, the last time Texas and Georgia played, it was not close. Texas only got back into the game by throwing a bunch of trash on the field. This time I think George is going to throw trash on the field. I think Texas has really figured things out. I think they might be outside of Oregon, the best team in college football right now. This is a revenge game. Georgia's kind of falling apart. Texas putting things together. I'm taking the Longhorns minus two and a half against the spread.
Mike Ryan
Mike Ryan throwing things on the field. Disrespectful, right? Somebody can die out there. You hit them with something. It's disrespectful to throw things.
Ryan Reynolds
Are you pro throwing things on the field?
Dan Le Batard
It was funny at the time.
Greg Cody
Weird argument.
Stugotz
Yeah, weird, weird argument.
Billy Corben
There's like a stampede across the pond Yesterday after a soccer match where 58 people died or something.
Greg Cody
I would hate to see what started that. By comparison, I imagine it was quite light. Hey, by the way, everybody, you're welcome for last week's against the spread winner, Georgia Tech. They should have won that game straight up.
Lucy
I took them and stole them.
Mike Ryan
How has this been doing, by the way?
Greg Cody
Put the town on alert. Rough weekend? Well, we went 2 and 4, but we're picking big dogs. Memphis won that game straight up and Georgia Tech should have won that game straight. So still up on units and still up on Moneyline units and probably when you consider the underdogs that were taken. So it's going well tonight on the ice. Patrick Line returns for the Montreal Canadiens. Big offseason acquisition. Kind of a one way player, goal scorer. Dress is kind of funny. They're taking on the Islanders right now. The Habs are an underdog, but I'm going to go adjusted spread. Think that they can actually win this game by minus one and a half. You can get that north of plus 250. So I'm taking the Montreal Canadiens and Patrick Lynne again.
Billy Corben
Panthers. Billy. Huh? Dare I take the Panthers plus 12 at the Eagles? Dare I?
Lucy
Hmm.
Billy Corben
I dare. Wow. I think I'm gonna take the Panthers plus 12 at the Eagles. That's a big line. I like the points there. The Panthers, they're losing the right way. I'll tell you that right now.
Lucy
Yep.
Billy Corben
They're showing us something. Not sure what, but something. There's some dog in that cat. You know what I mean?
Sebastian Maniscalco
What?
Billy Corben
So I think I'm going to take the Panthers at plus 12.
Lucy
Yep.
Billy Corben
Against the Eagles against the spread dog and that cat.
Mike Ryan
All right, let's get somebody who's an actual gambling expert who acts as someone in what?
Lucy
Billy was three and O last night.
Billy Corben
I mean, he was six and six.
Mike Ryan
He was three and oh, but Billy is not the star of the hit Max Original series bookie, though he endorses it. Billy is three and oh, but Sebastian Maniscalco is the star of the hit Max Original series bookie. And so we'll get to him in just a second because he's early to the zoom. Because I got to get to Wink Martindale. I got to get to supermarket bars. I did not know that there were any supermarket bars. We got to get to Ochocinco sobbing because the Bengals lost on Nightcap. And I got to also get to why it is that Greg Cody in the last segment agreed with Judge Judy when Billy said Judge Judy. What the hell was that. What was that? Sebastian, is that your doorbell? What happened? Sebastian, what is that?
Sebastian Maniscalco
That's not me. I don't know. Listen, I know I'm early. Do your thing.
Mike Ryan
No, no, no, you're here now. No, no. We clear the stage. Sir, we give you maximum respect around here, even though you seem to be joining us from a hotel in a very small town. Where are you right now?
Sebastian Maniscalco
First, before I get into that, I need the take on everybody in studio on Billy's laptop stickers. At what age do we lose stickers on the laptop, Billy?
Billy Corben
What's wrong with the stickers? What's happening here?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I don't know. The last time I had a sticker collection I was four.
Dan Le Batard
You don't know the joy of scrapping, my guy.
Billy Corben
Some vinyl stickers are coming back, man. I think you're just old.
Stugotz
Yeah, they are.
Sebastian Maniscalco
I might be. I might be. It's 51, apparently. Stickers.
Billy Corben
I'll send you some stickers. What's your address? Yeah, what's your address? I'll send you some stickers.
Mike Ryan
Billy. Billy, the famous comedian threw you an easy yes and making fun of the stickers on your computer, and you defensively come back at him in a way that just throws a dead fish at our entire show and his act. Like, how do you not say yes and to the man who's on here because you're defensive about the stickers on your computer.
Billy Corben
We'll try it again. We'll try it again. Okay, Sebastian, say it again, say it.
Lucy
Again, say it again.
Billy Corben
The whole thing.
Lucy
You were early, so.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Yeah, Billy, the moment is ruined.
Billy Corben
Yes. And.
Mike Ryan
Where are you, Sebastian? I don't that. That furniture. Look, you're at the top of your game right now. Very few people are killing comedy the way you are. And you don't even have to do it with the podcast the way the other guys do it. You're doing it with comedy and you're doing it with some fun art. Where are you?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I'm in Naples, Florida. I've been here for a week. I'm at my in law's house and if you know anything about Naples, florid. Everybody here goes out at 5 o'clock for dinner. So I'm. I'm in bed by 7:30 and it's still light out. So I've been enjoying Naples, Florida for, for about seven or eight days and I'm here for, until I get to Tampa and it's, it's having heaven's waiting room out here. A lot of oxygen, and I'm the youngest Youngest out here by 30 years.
Mike Ryan
How did you feel? Because it didn't feel good. Billy came after your age there. I didn't like it. You came after him for stickers on the computer and then he attacked you with his claws out in ways I didn't totally understand.
Sebastian Maniscalco
It's okay, I understand. It's a sensitive topic and maybe the next time I come on the show, the stickers will be gone. It's going to make him think tonight before he goes to bed, what am I doing with stickers on my laptop?
Mike Ryan
It's not something that we've considered around here. He's not entirely wrong. What is the age that we're done with stickers on the laptop. What is that age?
Dan Le Batard
Mm, I'm 26. I don't have any stickers on my laptop, but I don't know why. Just not have to say, oh, Greg has some and he's like 800.
Stugotz
Yeah, at least 805. Look at that. Of course they're self serving stickers though. They're not advertising any.
Lucy
Are there any other kind friends?
Mike Ryan
They're just stickers of. Yeah, he is promoting his podcast. A special guest this week is Stu Gotz, as they both sell. They're both best selling authors here. But I'm talking to Sebastian. I'll get back.
Stugotz
Yes, I know you are.
Lucy
He is also a best selling author, by the way.
Mike Ryan
And I should say he's got his own podcast, Daddy vs Dr. And the Pete and Sebastian show on all podcast platforms. But it feels too. Correct me if I'm wrong, because you've been grinding your way through the industry for a long time. You've seen the evolutions of it. You see these podcast guys with followings like yours developing big money and then you see Jeselnik say, that's not comedy. You're a podcaster. If that's where you make your money, I respect comedy. And you're from that school and you're crushing it right now. Where do you line up on everything I'm saying there?
Sebastian Maniscalco
Well, listen, truth be told, nobody listens to my podcast, so, I mean, I'm not making my bones doing podcasting. Pete and I have been doing the podcast for 12 years as like a labor of love. So for me, podcasting doesn't translate into standup comedy. It's two different things. I mean, it's either you do standup comedy. The way I did it was I just concentrated on standup. So the whole time was stand up, going up, you know, going to a bowling alley, going to a bar, and just making my bones doing stand up. Yeah, these guys are doing podcasting and a lot of people are coming out to see them because I think they fall in love with the personality more than maybe the standup. But nothing really has translated to my audience more than stand up comedy. So that's where I kind of focus all my efforts. Efforts. Everything else, whether it be acting or podcasting or writing a book, is, I don't know, second tier for me. You got to devote a lot of time to one thing to be good at it. So I just devoted a lot of my time to stand up.
Mike Ryan
It seems like a lot of work though, right? The sold out residency at Vegas, in Vegas, at the Wynn, Madison Square Garden and season two of the bookie on Max. Like that. I don't think that stuff can be done casually. You must be working all the time.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Yeah, I am working a lot in, you know, being 51. Sorry, Billy. You know, it's, it's, it's a little taxing on my body, the travel, especially in standup, going to all these different, you know, cities and different beds and whatnot. It's just a taxing on the body. But this tour I've been having a blast on, I've been doing this since July. I got Pete Corielli, Pat McGann coming with me on the road, which are two great comedians in their own right. I'm doing it in the round. It's. I set the stage pretty low to the floor so I do have an intimate kind of setting as much as you can in an arena. And you know, during the off time, I throw in a TV show like Bookie, which I've had a great time doing. Chuck Lorre came up with a great idea. I got bookies coming out of the woodwork everywhere I go. I'll be at the airwind getting a smoothie and a guy come up to me going, let me be a consultant. I've been doing this for 30 years. So the bookie is not dead. Although there's a lot of fanduels and draftkings and what have you. A lot of people I've found in doing this show really, really love using a bookie because of the personal relationship, the kind of flexibility you have in regards to paying him or her back. And this show kind follows and chronicles the life of a bookie who I think the connotation is the bookie is some guy who's 300 pounds and he's in his basement and he's, you know, going to break your legs. However, you know, bookie's got a wife, bookie's got a kid, bookie's got a mother in law. So we kind of tackle all those different areas of Danny, who I play on the show, and people seem to love it.
Lucy
I miss a good bookie. Like gambling. I appreciate draftkings or partners, but gambling has become. It's become so easy. Too easy. I miss, you know, meeting a guy handing him a paper bag of money in an alley, and it made me feel alive. It made me feel like the cops were about to put the handcuffs on me. You know what I'm saying? I miss a good bookie.
Sebastian Maniscalco
So are you not using the bookie anymore? Have you. Have you went to this online. Online DraftKings.
Lucy
Yeah, only drafting. Only drafting. When I miss a bookie.
Billy Corben
The crowd is yours.
Lucy
I specify draft, but I miss handing.
Greg Cody
My money to a booking money.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Guys, I'm. I'm surprised I was allowed on the show with. With. With grab things being a spot.
Greg Cody
Well, we're also on Max. We're also on Max. And we love Max.
Ryan Reynolds
Yes, love Max Peacock.
Mike Ryan
Peacock as well as. Well, that's right.
Greg Cody
As well.
Lucy
Sebastian, you are a big Bears fan. Can you be a good head coach if your last name is Eber Fluss?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I don't think so. I. I think we got to bring back a D or someone with a. A V at the end of their name. I don't know what's going on with these Bears. Eber Fluss look completely stunned at the end of the game. Poor, poor management. Listen, I'm not Mr. X and O's when it comes to football, but I do know that maybe you should call a timeout with 32 seconds left. Yeah, it's just heart wrenching to be a Bears fan, you know, nothing to really cheer about since 85. I think we went to the Super bowl in 07 with the Devin Hester kickoff return against the Colts. But other than that, you know, I think maybe they got to sell the team. I mean, we got to get somebody in there that, you know, doesn't make their money off football. I mean, I don't know. What do I know? I'm just. I'm just a fan sitting there watching, and my father and I get on the phone every Sunday and complain that what are they doing? So I don't know. I think maybe a change of ownership would be refreshing.
Mike Ryan
All right, well, that is a hot take. I appreciate you firing the owner of the Bears because you're so pissed off. Who was the best quarterback of your Bears lifetime. Like, because Rex Grossman is the one who went to that Super Bowl. Is it Jay Cutler? Like, what. Where are you, where, where are you in your fandom?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I'm, I'm going Jim McMahon. I started watching the Bears with Bob Avelini, if you remember who that is. But the 85 bears, from Soup to nuts. I don't think you could get a better. I mean, I love the Wilbur Marshall and, and Peyton Sui. And the by the way, what happened to the fullback? Are we using the full, full back anymore?
Mike Ryan
Very, very infrequently. Not very much. What put it on the poll at Lechard show. What happened to the. By the way, what happened to the fullback, Matt?
Lucy
So he triggered that for him.
Mike Ryan
Yes, but you're so you're not done with them, though. You still, you're living and dying. So what? I don't know how busy you are or if you on the holiday. Holidays are all about family. But Thanksgiving, are you watching this with people you care about? Are you watching something you care about with people you care about and watching your coach do that, get fired?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I gotta be honest with you, this Thanksgiving, it was very minimal watching of any football. I have two kids, 5 and 7. And the time I have with them, I, you know, we were in the pool, kind of goofing around in the pool and then, you know, my father in law was kind of shouting at me from the living room going, that's another score. They're down 17 0. So I was getting it from him, but I didn't, I didn't really watch this year. I gave up on the Bears after, you know, they went 4 and 4 and I figured we're going south here. So I tap out. Why waste my time with it? I mean, you know, guys like you, you got to watch sports and report, you know about it, you know. But for a fan, like for me, I'm not one of these guys that's going to take the team 4, 4 and 12 and watch every game. If you're not showing me something from the beginning, I'm out.
Mike Ryan
Oh, wow. So look, this is what Sebastian's telling you. Look, I've got very little bandwidth at this point. I'm very busy, man. If you want to get my attention, you can't do it with 4 and 4. It better be 6 and 2. It better be 7 and 1. Get my attention early. You Bears have, you've crushed me for too many years. I will not believe until you get me to 9 and 1 and 10 and 1 and I still won't trust you.
Sebastian Maniscalco
No. Even if, even if we got to the playoffs and we had home field advantage, still, you got. I gotta be at the Super bowl, fourth quarter, up by 30, then I'm in.
Mike Ryan
Okay.
Stugotz
All the way.
Sebastian Maniscalco
That's all.
Lucy
It's.
Mike Ryan
They've broken you until now. That's what you're saying? Like, you cannot invest in this anymore. Okay, that makes sense.
Lucy
But give the man a 30 point lead, fourth quarter, Super bowl, and he's back.
Mike Ryan
Okay, but, but. So this would be comedy at the end of this game, though. But you're not, you're not even arguing time management. You're like, yeah, of course our coach screwed it up and now is fired. That's how we do it.
Sebastian Maniscalco
I'm at the point now where I'm looking for another team. You know, I thought I would never say this, but, you know, I'm a Chicago guy, you know, and all my teams are Chicago, from the Bulls to the Blackhawks to the White Sox. So I don't know at this point, you know, I live in Los Angeles for 26 years. Do I adopt the Rams? Do I adopt the Chargers? I don't know. But I mean, I'm just. I'm just tired of losing guys. And I don't know what to tell you.
Mike Ryan
He's Quint. That's it. He did it publicly right here on our show. You haven't heard that before.
Mike

Yeah. Is gymnastics possibly corrupt? This is the Don Levatar show with these two gods.

When you are on tour at this point, I imagine you're at a point in your career now that all your dreams have come true and you have gotten the things you've wanted more than you ever imagined from being able to make people laugh. Is it what you expected? Because I imagine that you're under it all the time, and it would hard. It would be. It would just be hard to be present in the things at home that you need to be when your dreams are coming true.
Sebastian Maniscalco
No, you know, listen, I. I have been very blessed to have my dreams come true and make a living at doing standup comedy when I'm home. I'm a family man first. I'm not a. You know, I'm not one of these guys that's all about the career. Although I do work a lot. But my family is very important to me, and the time that I do spend with them, very, very precious. So, yeah, it's difficult. I kind of long for the days where I walked into a comedy club and no one really knew who I was, and I had the challenge of kind of, like, winning them over. So now it's hard to maintain that level of excellence year in and year out, because I think when people come to the show, they're wanting to see equal to or greater than comedy that they saw the last time. And I put a lot of pressure on myself to kind of deliver that. But. But it's. You know, writing new material is very difficult, and you could write new material, but it might not be as good as what you said two years ago. So I try to make it as high as I possibly can as far as making people laugh. And I feel like this tour is some of the best material I've done and really having fun with it sometimes. I think last tour, I was under the gun in regards to my health. I had sciatic pain on my right leg. I couldn't be as physical as I wanted to, but now, after doing Pilates and having that go away, I'm having a ball again on stage.
Mike Ryan
Well, you do an amazing job with your body. And the reason I was asking the question about the amount you're working is because of how difficult it is to keep the standard where you've kept it. When everybody's hungry in this game and you've arrived at some of the things that you want, it would be real easy to get fat. But in your act, you can see that you're someone who insists on. No, these people paid to see me. I'm going to honor them by giving them my best work. I wonder how much joy gets sucked out of that because of how hard it is, though. Because it doesn't. It doesn't seem like that would be a lot of fun at this age, touring around when you don't have to be doing it except you care that way.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Yeah. You know, I mean, this time around, though, I think, although it is a little taxing on the body, all these cities that I've been going to, I'm trying to enjoy the city a little bit more. I mean, sometimes you really don't have the time to really immerse yourself in the culture of the city that you're in. But, you know, we go to Virginia and I find out, oh, there's a USS Wisconsin that's docked there. Let's take a tour of the Navy ship. Or, you know, you go to Naples, Florida. You know, let's go visit an old people's home. So whatever the city has to enjoy, I'm trying to definitely see some of the sights. I took my kids to the Empire State Building. They never been there. When we were in New York and Chicago going for pizza with my family. My family's been with me more on this tour than ever before. Just because my kids are 5 and 7 and these moments are fleeting. You never know when you're gonna do the Madison Square Garden again. You know, listen, I'm one of these guys that lives in the negative. I'm not Mr. Positivity here, where I'm like, oh, yeah, it's gonna be greater the next time I go on tour. I look at this and going, I hope to God people come back the next time. So Madison Square Grand. I brought my kids on stage because I don't know if that's ever going to happen again. And I brought my mother and my father on stage. I'm happy that they're alive to even see what's happening. So we're all kind of enjoying in the success and it's been fun.
Stugotz
Well, you're at the top of your game now, but it wasn't always like that. And I'm wondering when you were starting, when you were working your way up and you had an opening act that was a little too funny. Before you got as self confident and as big as you are, did you ever think, you know what, I gotta have a new opening act who bombs a little bit?
Sebastian Maniscalco
No, I never. I never even thought that when I was just doing a show and there was someone ahead of me that was good. I never even thought like, oh, I wish he was bad. I've always loved going on stage after somebody who killed it. It was like a challenge. I go, I gotta keep the room going, you know? So I've always brought guys on the road with me who I felt that were extremely funny. Set me up great. Got the audience in the cadence of laughing people that kind of bring an opener who is, you know, subpar to me. Just feels like you're cheating the audience out of a great experience. I want the show to be great from minute one to the last minute. So for two hours, I want people to come in there and say, wow, we saw a really, really great night of entertainment, whether it be myself or the two openers. So, yeah, no, I don't fear that at all. I think if you're fearing people better than you or funnier than you before, to me, I look at it as a challenge.
Mike Ryan
Weird question. Cody. Season two was a good one.
Lucy
I agree with Greg.
Mike Ryan
Season two of Bookie premieres on Max December 12th, 12th. New episodes releasing weekly. First season is streaming right now. Billy, you had something before Cody went there.
Billy Corben
Yeah. How'd you cure sciatica? My grandmother had it. My wife complains about it. I feel it. Sometimes it, like, shoots down your leg into your, like, your butt. I got, like, knee braces. What'd you do? How do we cure this?
Sebastian Maniscalco
I tried everything from epidural shots to cupping to massage to yoga. I started doing this thing called Legree Pilates. And within two months, I almost heard my body kind of readjust into place. It was almost like there was a bunch of cracking. I was like, oh, wow. And then after that, the sciatica gone. And if you're living with sciatica, there's no pain. I can't even explain the pain because it's so sudden and so sharp and debilitating. Every morning I would get out of bed going, okay, is it going to be gone? By some type of miracle, ensuring enough walk into the bathroom, boom. It would just kind of collapse on the floor. So, yeah, I would recommend Pilates to anybody dealing with any type of back pain. I mean, the amount of core strength it takes to do Pilates is unbelievable. And my core to this day still is very weak, but definitely strengthening it by doing Pilates. So I hope you guys get a sponsor after this show from legree Pilates along with draftkings.
Billy Corben
Have you. Have you ever heard of mashing? Because we have this woman, Genesis, that comes here, and she just walks on top of people. It sounds weird. It's just kind of something that happens at the office. She lays down a man, and she just starts walking on top of people with a walker as a form of massage. Then she wears, like, those. Those shoes that have, like, the individual, like, toe socks. And then, like, gets in there and starts, like, mashing and just is, like, standing and sometimes jumping on top of you.
Sebastian Maniscalco
So I had a guy walk on me with a walker before. Not to actually walk. I'm telling you, I've been everywhere. This. This guy would come over with a walker and put the walker kind of on top of me. And this guy wasn't, you know, a small guy. We're talking like, 6, 1, 2, 10. And he would take his big toe and, like, drive it right into my scapula. And it was. Was. It was painstaking, but it didn't do really anything for the sciatica. He even went into the lower back and the legs and whatnot. So, yeah, I mean, I've. I've tried it all. The only thing that worked for me was the Pilates, and. And I'm standing by it, but go try to walk her if you think it's gonna work.
Billy Corben
The mashing, it felt like a. Like, a thing to kind of help my back. Then I started wondering, like, is this just, like, a kink of Genesis? Because, like, she just likes kind of, like, shoving her, like, toes up your ass, basically. Like, she's just there, like, trying to digging into your back. And then I was always afraid that I was gonna, like, poop myself because, like, it's all of the body weight on top of you. So I stopped there. Mashing also, just so you know. And I feel like as we bonded about this a little bit earlier, stickers all over her walker, it kind of threw me off a little.
Mike Ryan
I don't think that you and Sebastian have bonded at all. I think you're miss.
Sebastian Maniscalco
That's up to them.
Mike Ryan
I think you're misreading the entirety of this situation.
Billy Corben
You both have sciatica.
Mike Ryan
I don't.
Lucy
Well.
Mike Ryan
Well, sciatica sounds terrible. This man's an American hero. Limping. He's making us laugh. He's going city to city. He's in Naples. God love him. He's in Naples because he wants to make old people laugh. And he's been making people laugh.
Lucy
I wonder if he starts at 3pm in the afternoon in Naples.
Sebastian Maniscalco
I mean.
Mike Ryan
Well, yeah, if everyone's going to dinner at 5pm Are you. Are your shows too late at night for people?
Sebastian Maniscalco
Oh, matinee. We do a noon show.
Lucy
Oh, that's perfect.
Mike Ryan
No, no, no, no. You don't nooner on a Wednesday in Naples. Doesn't sound like the height of show business. Season two of bookie premieres on Max. Why did that show appeal to you? And I was surprised to see you in a movie opposite Robert De Niro. And I'm thinking to myself that somewhere in there you must have the most amazing story about where it is. You got awed because you couldn't believe you were acting opposite Robert De Niro.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Well, I mean, listen, I. My father was teaching Robert De Niro how to be him because the movie is about my father. And never in my life would I think my dad would be in Mobile, Alabama, on a movie set teaching Robert De Niro how to do a dye job. So for me, watching my father interact with De Niro was something. And the reason the book he appealed to me opposite about my father. Because about my father, I kind of played myself. I did a pilot with Tony Danzo about eight years ago where he played my dad. I was just sick of playing myself. And when Chuck came to me with this idea of me playing this character, I was intrigued by it because I was like, you know, I'd like. I'd like to play somebody other than just me and. And challenge myself in that way. I also love that we're filming in Los Angeles. I get to see my family and sleep in my own bed. And I get to see Los Angeles in a way that I've never seen it before for. You know, it's kind of a trip to be shooting at some of the places that I used to kind of go for a drink. We shot at this Mexican restaurant. And I remember going there in 1998 when I first moved to LA, just to hang out and have a burrito. And, you know, fast forward 26 years later, doing a TV show scene at the. Near the same booth where I had dinner when I first came there. So, yeah, and it's quick, you know, the way Chuck moves, the way he does the show. It's like we don't sit there and do a seat scene, you know, 12 times. It's like he knows what he wants as soon as he sees what you Know what he likes. We move on to the next scene. So it's not a lot of repetition. And the days are short. You know, they're nine, ten hour days. It's not like we're sitting there 16, 18 hours. So it moves. The comedy has a pace. So I think Chuck, being Chuck, kind of knows that pace and it's been.
Mike Ryan
A joy to SebastianLive.com is where you go if you want to catch Sebastian on his It Ain't Right tour in last question, as we get you out here. When you talk about being on the stage at MSG with your family, wherever it is, that gratitude is most emotional for you. Like where is it that you get moved to tears on? I can't believe this is my life right now. I've arrived at some of the things that I never thought possible.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Yeah, those moments where I get to bring my family up on stage or if I'm in the crowd and you know, my wife is taking pictures of my kids watch me on stage. For me, that's definitely sentimental. You know, I started this career in 1998 with Just Me. It was no wife, there was no kids. It was just me in Los Angeles. I drove out there with my sister. I knew nobody. I started working as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel. And you know, to see it get to this point and then to share it with the people that I love the most is really cool. So we could be in Madison Square Garden, we could be in Kansas City or Arizona, wherever it might be. If my family is sharing these moments with me, those are kind of the best moments for me, whether it be standup comedy, having them visit the set of a movie or what have you. So, yeah, yeah, it's, it's been really, really cool and I'm having a blast.
Lucy
You were with us in Vegas at our show at the Circa. It was a live show. I noticed none of your family was there in Vegas with you.
Billy Corben
Not as important.
Sebastian Maniscalco
No, they didn't. They, they didn't. I tried to do like kind of age appropriate cities for my kids and not much to do in Las Vegas for a five year old. So.
Mike Ryan
Sebastian, nice seeing you. Good catching up with you again. Thank you for the time, sir.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Absolutely. Thanks for sharing your audience with me. And you guys have a great Christmas and happy New Year.
Mike Ryan
Nice seeing you again, sir.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Take care.
Mike Ryan
I didn't get to supermarket bar with him because I'm still, I'm still rocked by this. I did not know that there were bars in supermarkets before today.
Lucy
It looked to me like A Starbucks, which you see in Target from time to time. And they have one.
Mike Ryan
I guess they have just a Starbucks employee serves beer. But it's just a Starbucks employee.
Greg Cody
There's a sign that says the draft.
Mike Ryan
Beer is the thing that.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Right.
Lucy
But there are Starbucks that. That serve draft beer. That's all I'm saying.
Dan Le Batard
No, there's not.
Lucy
Yes, there is.
Billy Corben
I don't think that there is.
Lucy
Look it up.
Mike Ryan
You look it up.
Sebastian Maniscalco
All right.
Mike Ryan
You prove it to us again. Billy was distracted earlier. I'm still confused by Greg Cody, who has on his podcast, which we have not promoted. Stu Gotz has guest because they have a book signing. We need to celebrate this as a show. Lucy, stop yawning. It's a big week. It's a big week for Greg Cody and Stu Kotz. I and we, the audience should be proud that they are keeping the written word alive with fanfare. They're going to a church. They're having. They're too big for bookstores. Bookstores are collapsing. But Student and Cody are rising atop the written word to have something in Coral Gables or Coconut Grove. Where is this? Because it's too big for books and books. But what city is Thursday's extravaganza? Greg Cody.
Stugotz
It's this Thursday, December 5, 7 to 9pm at the Coral Gables Congregational Church, 3010 Desoto Boulevard. Coral Gables, which is a beautiful suburb of Miami. For those of you who don't live down here, join us.
Billy Corben
Seven locations in Miami Dade, Broward and Palm beach counties are among the two dozen stores that will have craft beer, wine and small plates available for purchase starting Wednesday.
Dan Le Batard
Starting Wednesday.
Billy Corben
This was written August 18, 2015. They may have closed already.
Mike Ryan
Wait a minute.
Ryan Reynolds
That's a W. That was my update. They did this in 2015, but by 2018 scrapped the plans of limited alcohol sales. So they tried this in 2015 and have since punted on it.
Mike Ryan
So Stugotts was not right.
Lucy
That's the last time I was there.
Billy Corben
I mean, it's not on him.
Stugotz
He was almost right at one time.
Billy Corben
Oh, he was. For a short time. Can I ask you guys a question? Just a quick aside?
Lucy
Sure, but it's never quick.
Billy Corben
I feel like things went well with Sebastian. I don't know if you guys agree with me or not.
Mike Ryan
You were a disaster. I don't know why you. Why Genesis came up like I don't know what you were doing.
Ryan Reynolds
Billy's yes and J joke was fantastic.
Greg Cody
That's one of the best jokes I've ever heard.
Mike Ryan
That was pretty good.
Billy Corben
So here's what I'm thinking. I want to send Sebastian stickers, but I feel like we have a very short window to get him the stickers in which he'll remember why he's getting stickers. So I'd like to challenge the people of Estero, Florida, who have the ability to see him over the next couple days, and then maybe even the people of Tampa, Florida, and Omaha, Nebraska. I feel like we have a week here. If you go to Sebastian's show, take him stickers. If you come in, contact the meet and greet, shake his hand, take a picture, hand him a sticker or two, say, Sebastian, this is for your laptop. This is from Billy.
Stugotz
Yes.
Mike Ryan
I'm running out of show, Billy. And you brought up what Genesis does to your hamstring and glutes, and she does get in.
Ryan Reynolds
How's your uncle?
Mike Ryan
I don't know why you brought that up.
Billy Corben
It was. I think it was an accident, I think.
Mike Ryan
Which part?
Greg Cody
You could see how that would happen.
Billy Corben
I mean, look at this video.
Mike Ryan
I am running out of show.
Billy Corben
I see four toes.
Mike Ryan
And again, I still don't understand why. Why it is that you said to Greg Cody, Judge Judy, and he said, yeah, and you guys connected there two segments ago.
Billy Corben
Please, you don't get it.
Mike Ryan
Please let me get to the rest of the show. Because Greg Cody has something to promote, not just his podcast. He joins us here every week. It's an honor to have a legitimate writing South Florida legend every week with us. And this week, him and Steve Dugat are celebrating on Thursday something that deserves our local audience who has an appreciation for Dave Berry, for Carl Hiason, for all the things in this town. I want this to be a celebration of Stugotts and Cody on Thursday night because they're legitimate authors. They're authors with a buying public. That's something that not a lot of people get. And we got it right here this week at a church. We should all be thanking God at that church.
Dan Le Batard
If I remember correctly, you did bring this up approximately 90 seconds ago.
Mike Ryan
So this.
Dan Le Batard
I feel like we did already touch on this. And I was really looking forward to the sticker conversation because I'm into scrapbooking. So whatever stickers you don't give to Sebastian, please send to me so I can use for my scrapbook.
Greg Cody
I'm abundantly clear on where this signing.
Lucy
Is, when it is, where it is, over the weekend. I appreciate Dan trying to be a good partner here and trying to be a good friend and promoting, but it's.
Mike Ryan
Not just that, but but it's Greg Cody has his podcast which is why he joins us every week to promote that podcast.
Stugotz
What's it called again?
Mike Ryan
My podcast, the Greg Cody show featuring Greg Cody with and no fine bucket anymore. And Stugott. And Stugott is the guest on this week's podcast.
Sebastian Maniscalco
Yes.
Stugotz
And we do a lot of talking about this event Thursday night. Why it's so special to us. I praise Stugatz for his great project. This book is a big deal.
Sebastian Maniscalco
This is a new improved Dan Levatar.
Mike Ryan
Show with the Stugas gamble on by DraftKings.
Greg Cody
