Stugotz
This is the Dan Levatar show with the Stugats podcast.
Dan Le Batard
All right. Welcome to the Sans Levitage show. I was going to say that it's game five, but I think this is the championship parade because we gave him a gentleman sweep. I'm here with my man. No, it's fun. We just having a good time. You helped us.
Tony
I wanted to come in and be the mvp. Man, I had a whole week planned out. We go down 01. We rally game two. You guys split three and four. You come in and I just come in.
Dan Le Batard
But we, I mean, we're happy to have you have a good time. We don't have one other person.
Tony
But first of all, what happens?
Dan Le Batard
We'll get to that in a second because we got a treat for y'all who are not watching this and you're listening to this. And if you listened yesterday, we got a special treat for you guys. But before that. Tony, Tony, Tony's back.
Amin Elhassan
What's up?
Dan Le Batard
So. Oh, that was smooth.
Tony
That was smooth.
Amin Elhassan
You know. You know, we do.
Tony
Tony, it sounds like you. You've heard some basketball disrespect this week.
Amin Elhassan
I've heard. I. You know what? I haven't heard anything this this week because I've been in Mexico on a Cuervo trip with. With the sponsors and stuff. They've been taking care of me, VIP wine and dying the whole thing. So I haven't heard anything. I don't know what's going on. Coming in fresh, coming in relaxed. I'm just doing my thing.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, we. We just had some conversations about how good people are at basketball, and your name came up, and so we'll get to that at some point. I thought last night when I was at the Grizzlies game, Grizzly Heat game, and Ja Morant was aiming the Draco right at my section. I was so excited. Cause I was like, you know what? Ja just did my Friday show. I was like, off top we go. The funny thing that happened. And we'll get to this.
Tony
But aired out the whole section, bro. With the air Draco. That's crazy, Josh.
Dan Le Batard
First he brought out just the little blickies, just a couple little handguns, little hand blickies. Hand blickies was like jobs. Not the. The worst part about the experience, or maybe the best part was when he pulled the first one out. I went, Jason Goff got us some tickets at great seats right behind the Grizzlies bench. When Ja hit the first shot, I think it was in the first quarter. And pulled the hammer out for the first time. The air hammer out for the first time. I put my face in my hands and put my head down like, come on, J.
Tony
We got to be better.
Dan Le Batard
What are we doing? There was a bunch of Grizzly fans behind me who started yelling at me, don't talk about that tomorrow. Don't you be talking about that tomorrow.
Tony
Turn your head.
Dan Le Batard
I turned back around to him and I nodded to him like, yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Then he did it again, and I turned to them and was like, he wants me to talk about it. And so I found myself going from head in hands. Please, Ja, don't do this to. Come on, Ja. Do it again. Hit another shot.
Tony
Love it.
Dan Le Batard
And pull that thing out one more time.
Tony
Hand blicky protest.
Dan Le Batard
He blew smoke off the barrel one time.
Tony
Oh. Let you know that. That.
Amin Elhassan
I mean, he got hot.
Tony
So. Yeah.
Dan Le Batard
I don't know how Draco typically does when you.
Tony
When you select air holes in.
Dan Le Batard
That's why I don't know how much of this got on to the. The broadcast, but there were so many.
Tony
Times you think they had to, like, make the call, the cutaway call. Hey, we gotta stop showing. Like, when the streaker hits midfield, like, yo, do not show the hand Blicky. Under no circumstances. After every three crowd shot, I was at the game.
Dan Le Batard
So I asked Jeremy this morning how much of it was on. And so he named a few incidences. And then I said, what about this one? And Jeremy was like, nope, they ain't see that one. After the game, after you hit the game winner, he ran and celebrated. He did the conversation or did the interview with Taylor Rooks.
Tony
And after that, he gave the hand Blicky.
Dan Le Batard
He brought it out. It was the big one. It was the big one. It was the two hander. And just. And that one did make.
Tony
It was wild.
Dan Le Batard
You know who else was at the game? Amin Elhassan. You remember yesterday when Mr. Amin Elhassan told us all, I don't use an alarm clock because I don't need it.
Tony
Yeah.
Dan Le Batard
I don't get hangovers. I'm just built different. I knew that was bullshit.
Tony
Yeah.
Dan Le Batard
When I started to think about how clearly. Clearly your body don't listen to you the way that you think it do. Because I seen you shoot a jumper. But as you guys can see, there's an empty chair. Oh, that's the jumpers up again. Let me see that jumper. Let me see. There's no way that that man doesn't need an alarm clock. If your hands don't.
Tony
You take the trash out.
Amin Elhassan
Look, in a means meager defense. Meager because he's not here to defend himself.
Dan Le Batard
So why not?
Tony
I want to have this conversation with Amin sitting here when he gets here. Because I didn't watch any game film. I'm like you, Tony. I didn't watch any game film this week. I don't watch games. I'm not in fresh. I just, you know, I catch the highlights. But I did catch the highlight of Amin saying he had the superior being of time. That his body knows better than to let him sleep when there's work that needs to be done.
Amin Elhassan
I'm actually a little bit worried and I'll tell you why. I've been with Amin on different excursions that him and I have had. We've gone to Cleveland. We've gone to a whole bunch of places.
Tony
Right.
Amin Elhassan
I've never seen Cleveland. I'm trying to think of the other place we went to.
Tony
I couldn't.
Amin Elhassan
Oh, no. Salt Lake. And we also went to.
Tony
Stop laughing, Billy. Cleveland.
Amin Elhassan
I don't know where.
Tony
It's so funny. I don't get a joke on this thing.
Dan Le Batard
No, the funny part is I've been to Cleveland. Whole bunch of places.
Tony
Yeah.
Amin Elhassan
We went somewhere else. I mean, he's trying to say, like.
Tony
If we've gone to Cleveland, you could imagine places we've been.
Amin Elhassan
To be honest, we were in Independence, Ohio, not Cleveland. We were staying 45 minutes out of town. Whatever. Not the point. The point is I've been with Amin on nights where we've drank very much, and he bounces back quickly. So I've never seen him hungover. The. The. The timing body clock thing. He's got, like, a Kramer thing where he doesn't need the clock. So I'm actually a little bit worried that he's seven minutes late.
Ryan Reynolds
For the people that weren't listening yesterday, let's relive. Let's hear what he said.
Dan Le Batard
Can we put the camera on his empty chair while we play that?
Tony
No, don't do that. Because now Tony's getting me worried, and I'm not a word.
Amin Elhassan
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Tony
But I didn't even consider that there could actually be something going on and how this is going to age with an empty chair of a. Of a mean, without information.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, yeah. We could be.
Tony
We're going to lose Game 5, and it might be worth.
Amin Elhassan
Might be worse than that.
Tony
We might end up losing the six.
Mike Ryan
Got to risk it for the Biscuit.
Stugotz
It also famously failed for Kramer.
Amin Elhassan
Well, yes, yes, of course.
Ryan Reynolds
But let's hear what he said yesterday.
Dominique Foxworth
Iron man, dude, think about it. Someone who doesn't get hangovers, who doesn't sleep a lot, who doesn't need coffee. I am the dream. Who has never caught Covid.
Amin Elhassan
That's also true. That's. I'm telling you, dude. Oh, we went to Milwaukee. That's where it was. Okay. We went to Milwaukee. Funny enough, it was a dunk. A mean thing.
Cuervo
We were.
Amin Elhassan
It was 20, 21, so still prime Covid transit, you know, Prime Covid. It was.
Stugotz
Amin was in this studio six so.
Ryan Reynolds
Many times, but he never had Covid.
Stugotz
It's. That's not one of those things. Like, I didn't test positive. I don't have Covid. He was in here so many times, like, no, I don't have it.
Mike Ryan
Let's play.
Ryan Reynolds
I have one more clip. Let's play one more clip here.
Dan Le Batard
This is one of those, like, stupidly masculine things where you take pride in something that's irrelevant.
Dominique Foxworth
And is it irrelevant?
Dan Le Batard
It's a 100% irrelevant.
Dominique Foxworth
I don't know.
Dan Le Batard
The idea that I don't Juju put on the poll.
Dominique Foxworth
Would you like to never get hangovers? Not need sleep and not need coffee, yes or no? If it's irrelevant, it'll come back 90% no, right? Maybe 80% no. If it's irrelevant, I feel like these are traits that are not irrelevant.
Tony
Irrelevant. Today. Today it has reached peak.
Ryan Reynolds
Like, I just hope that he overslept after. Because the. The most ridiculous of all those things was the, like, I wake up alarm clock. Like, the no hangover thing. We all kind of know a friend that's like, I don't get hungover. That's not that rare. No, that's. It's not that rare. In the drinking streets. In these drinking streets. Not getting hungover is.
Tony
I like how you clarified that because you're like, yo, I'm in these drinking streets.
Ryan Reynolds
That's what I'm saying.
Tony
You don't know these streets.
Ryan Reynolds
Like, I know these streets out there that are like, I don't get hungover.
Stugotz
Can't get hungover if you're never not drunk.
Dan Le Batard
Bam. That's what I was going to say is in these drinking streets, the guy who's like, I never have a hangover. He wakes up pops one. He wakes up at pops one, gives a little get.
Amin Elhassan
He says, call Hair the dog. Hair the dog. You just get right back on the train, baby.
Dan Le Batard
Exactly. Those are the people who don't have hangovers. They always seem to smell a little.
Tony
Bit like, never came down. That's the problem. You never give yourself a chance.
Amin Elhassan
So I got a question. Do we know that Amin made it back home from wherever he was last night?
Dan Le Batard
All I know. Can we bring in Fuentes? I mean, oh, man, what a dream for him. I just. I would like him.
Amin Elhassan
There's a method to my madness, though.
Dan Le Batard
What I. Okay, what's the method?
Amin Elhassan
It is. I don't know if you guys know this or not. Amin had a premonition, and the only way that Amin's gonna die is via a car crash.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, we going there?
Ryan Reynolds
So all mean has gone there. It's what Amin says all the time.
Dan Le Batard
I heard him say that.
Amin Elhassan
All I'm saying is, if Amin made it home last night, he's not dead. We know he's not dead.
Dan Le Batard
There was no. He was staying here. And the Kaseya center is across the street. It's a block away.
Amin Elhassan
I think he. I think he probably went a couple different places last night, not just the Casaya Center. I mean, catch my drift?
Ryan Reynolds
I don't think we should put his. This out of where he specifically he was until what time? We don't know.
Stugotz
Well, you need to know where he.
Dan Le Batard
Was for us to find another time.
Stugotz
Yeah, we got to track him down at some point.
Tony
Has anybody sent him a text?
Stugotz
Did I call when I was in Vegas after, like, after like two days? No, because I'm like, it's. It's related. Two days in, they came in and they knocked on my door to make sure I wasn't dead because I had like do not disturb on my door for the super bowl. And I guess so many people just die in the hotel that after like 24 hours of do not disturb, it's like protocol for security to come and make sure you're not dead.
Tony
Yeah. But also, why didn't you leave the room for 24 hours?
Stugotz
No, I didn't leave the room. I just had do not disturb. I don't like people. Like, I feel bad for them coming in and making my bed every day when I'm just going to get back and like, make a mess anyways. Like, having anyone over. I mean, I left to go to radio.
Tony
I feel like they have like video camera in the hallways and if they're coming, they're like, you'll check the surveillance. Has he left? He hasn't.
Stugotz
I actually died.
Tony
Did you jump out the window or something?
Stugotz
I repelled down. I wanted a fun trip, so.
Dan Le Batard
All right.
Stugotz
So will someone check on Amin at some point? Just don't see him.
Dan Le Batard
Someone needs to check on him. We needed. Someone needs to go to the front desk and find out what room he's in and go get that thing. A rat attack.
Ryan Reynolds
I got an idea. I'm gonna text him. You good question, Mark.
Tony
I don't think you're gonna bro. Step number one. This is how every search for a dead person happens.
Amin Elhassan
Or just missing. Or just missing.
Tony
Or just missing. So he's never missed work while I've been here. So now I am a little concerned and I'm going to talk through it because it's good content in the moment that I won't be able to go back and make if the worst case has happened.
Dan Le Batard
So we have. I believe and I like, this is not my domain, but the way that it's been explained to me is we got a meeting in the morning that starts around. Around Lamar clock. Lamar 30. Right. So I show up to this meeting and Amin's not here. But he never really is here for. For that meeting. Amin shows up for kickoff. He is right there. He runs onto the field.
Ryan Reynolds
8:50 comes walking in. What's up, everybody?
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Tony
And so he booby mouses it.
Dan Le Batard
Like, I wasn't concerned, but Now I'm starting to get a little concerned. So send a text. I think I would like to. Can we get Jeremy back in the room at some point? Because he's out there. Because I found another story pretty interesting this weekend. There's a couple things that I wanted to. Or not this weekend. This morning, a couple things I want to talk about. I want to talk a little bit about the basketball game last night because I like the Heat, man. They lost, but Khalil Ware.
Amin Elhassan
You like the Heat, huh?
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, I like them.
Ryan Reynolds
I like them.
Tony
There it is.
Dan Le Batard
I like them. But also, I put Jeremy on the case because there was a ridiculous headline this morning for lamar Jackson is trying to sue for the number eight and in all its forms. And I was like, this can't be right. So I asked Jeremy if he had a second to go ahead and read through the case to make sure that we aren't mischaracterizing what Lamar Jackson was doing. Because everyone was taking a shot at my man Lamar this morning. Like, this is ridiculous. He trying to take eight from Dale Earnhardt and Troy Aikman. Lamar Jackson is a monster.
Tony
Right.
Dan Le Batard
And so I just want him to make sure that Jeremy was here to understand all the details of the case because I didn't have time to read the entire case because I was busy worrying about Amin or actually laughing about it. Please be all right, Amin. This would all be terrible if something texted him.
Amin Elhassan
I'm just telling you.
Tony
I mean, I don't feel good about Amin's whereabouts.
Ryan Reynolds
I feel like Amin, of all people would be good with this type of bit, though, on the front end. We don't know anything. We don't know anything yet.
Dan Le Batard
Hold on, hold on, Chris.
Ryan Reynolds
If something bad happened, we're unaware, you.
Dan Le Batard
Know, whose judgment I don't trust. You're trying to make me feel better by saying Amin would be good with it, right?
Ryan Reynolds
That's true.
Amin Elhassan
He would.
Tony
He would.
Ryan Reynolds
He would, though.
Stugotz
He gets.
Dan Le Batard
He would.
Amin Elhassan
He would get the bit.
Ryan Reynolds
You were.
Dan Le Batard
Did you hear some of the fired off yesterday?
Tony
We would be able to cash in on that MJ bet, though, Michael, for sure.
Stugotz
Yeah.
Mike Ryan
We talked about his hero.
Stugotz
We do want closure on that one.
Tony
Yeah, I think we all. It's very open ended in our audience is like, we want to get. This.
Amin Elhassan
Is Cole on tour?
Tony
Get to the bottom of this.
Stugotz
You know how this ends, right? Is like whenever he shows up, he's just going to say this was theater of the mind and he did this on purpose to prove a. He will not take accountability for not Waking up.
Tony
That's the best part.
Ryan Reynolds
I just got a little concerned because I just. He. He's very regular in this shit chat we have. Like, on days he's not here around 8:00, before 9:00, like, he generally is on the toilet. And he hasn't reported in there either today.
Dan Le Batard
So we got to smell the smell under the door. Smell under the door.
Ryan Reynolds
I'm. I'm half worried.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, we're going to move.
Ryan Reynolds
I'm half still committed to this bit and half genuinely worried.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, we're going to move on because.
Tony
This is a bit.
Dan Le Batard
I feel like it's less funny. It's getting less and less funny as.
Tony
The minutes go by.
Dan Le Batard
As the minutes go by. Because I expected him to fumble up.
Tony
In here, like three minutes in it, like Russian.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, we'd laugh at him and he'd say, I did it on purpose, guys. And we'd be like, all right, whatever. I mean, all right, so we'll get off now.
Tony
The suits seem a little effed up in the famous step brothers quote. And they were funny at first, but now it's okay. So, Jeremy, I think you have some information.
Ryan Reynolds
While we're all sad, I'm going to.
Tony
Defend Lamar no matter what you say, but I'll let you go ahead and give us some information.
Dan Le Batard
To be clear, it's going to be really hard to convince this room on this day that whatever Lamar is doing. You want me to side with Dale.
Mike Ryan
Earnhardt, why are you setting me up to defend Darl Earnhardt?
Amin Elhassan
Why is Dale Earnhardt the first one we go to? I'm confused by that.
Dan Le Batard
What do you mean the first thing.
Amin Elhassan
That answers your question? I didn't know Dale Earnhardt was number eight. Is he number eight?
Tony
Oh, wow.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, Junior.
Stugotz
But then he was, like, 88.
Mike Ryan
Well, this is an interesting part of this story, actually. So what's happening here is Lamar Jackson is challenging Dale Earnhardt's trademark of the number eight, but not specifically the number eight that was on his car in the years where he was driving the number eight. So Lamar challenged Troy Aikman last year for E, I, G, H, T in all capital letters, the specific trademark of that font size of the word eight. This case is a slanted eight. That is not in the style of what was on Earnhardt's car. Now, Earnhardt on his car, that was only while he was working for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, or dei. Now as DEI has crumbled around him.
Dan Le Batard
Wow.
Mike Ryan
The trademark eventually lapsed. And this is just. This is just the truth. DEI Dale Earnhardt Incorporated no longer exists. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Did, did not get along with Teresa Earnhardt, who took over upon Dale Earnhardt Senior's death. She let the trademark expire for his number eight. And so he is now refiling to try to get that number eight back. Lamar is upset not with the one that was on his car, but a different slanted number eight.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, okay. So as I understood it. So that makes sense that I assume that we say Lamar Jackson because that's the name that we know and that he is the one on the case. But my guess is Lamar Jackson isn't keeping an eye on the trademark office and like trying to jump on all these things. Like maybe his team. I would assume, right?
Tony
No, I wouldn't assume.
Mike Ryan
Says his attorneys filed a notice of opposition on Wednesday.
Tony
But I like his business acumen.
Dan Le Batard
Excuse me. Jeez.
Tony
Yeah, you can choked up about this, guys.
Dan Le Batard
My heart.
Ryan Reynolds
He's alive.
Dan Le Batard
Back to the jokes.
Cuervo
Remember the flush.
Ryan Reynolds
I just got a. Yup, heading down text.
Tony
All right, wrong chat.
Dan Le Batard
This is exciting.
Ryan Reynolds
I feel great.
Tony
Thank God Amin isn't dead. Number one. No way in hell Michael Jordan was going to his.
Stugotz
Now we'll never know.
Amin Elhassan
That's the point.
Stugotz
That sucks.
Cuervo
We're gonna have to find out later.
Stugotz
Like dies. But maybe we meet.
Tony
I sent a bunch of texts in that 15 minutes. Most of them were people connected to Michael Jordan, and it said, Amin Al Hasan died. Do you think Mike is going to come to the funeral? They said, are you serious? I said, yes. They said, tbd. So that doesn't sound like it's a confirmation.
Amin Elhassan
It's not bad. It's better than nothing.
Tony
I think they were like, we're going to ask.
Dan Le Batard
I think. I think when you hit him with. Are you serious? That's kind of what you think.
Tony
Yeah.
Cuervo

Tony
Dan Lebatard.
Cuervo
Chris Cody does an impression. Just be careful.
Ryan Reynolds
Dangerous game here. This is a dangerous game.
Cuervo
I don't want to play this game.
Tony
No.
Cuervo
He was saying, man, I could do such a great.
No, I don't want to play this game.
He's.
I mean, this is who we're going to trust.
Ryan Reynolds
I mean, you do it. Let's let a mean do it.
Stugotz
I think still got.
Dominique Foxworth
I think you could do it, Chris, because you did a great Charles Barkley.
Cuervo
You're one for one there. Did no one just hear the segment we just did with Amin?
Stugotz
We cannot be taking judgment.
Cuervo
Is not the council from the local drunk on whether or not you should do the impersonation of a black man stumbling over his words like you don't see the bad.
Ryan Reynolds
There was Mose and Moody. Moody Moses.
Cuervo
That. It sounds worse.
Tony
Be careful, man.
Cuervo
We got it. Like, we cannot do this. It's too close to the line. This is where the line is. Something legitimately funny can't be funny because we're scared our ginger is going to do something racist by accident.
Ryan Reynolds
Carry the hell on, Dan.
Dan Le Batard
Rachel.
Dominique Foxworth
Dan. The line is when we feel alive, though.
Tony
This is the Dial Levatar show with the stool cats.
Stugotz
I have a question for you guys. What's the protocol on autograph at a funeral? Like, you think no, right?
Tony
Hard no.
Dan Le Batard
Hard no.
Stugotz
You think no, right?
Tony
You know, no, no, but go ahead.
Stugotz
Hold on a second.
Tony
But continue there.
Stugotz
But it's not always. No, because there is that book where people check in and they sign the guest book and they say, like, you know, I love your family, whatever. Right? Dude, you can have like Michael Jordan signing that. Whatever. What if someone goes and they decide, I'm gonna pull a fast one. I'll take that book out there. I'm gonna put an NBA basketball and just be like. Like, Amin was so deep in NBA circles that he really just wanted everyone to sign the basketball. And you could get a basketball signed by some of the NBA's luminaries that chose to attend a meeting.
Dan Le Batard
But it's going to be a bunch of other people wanted.
Amin Elhassan
Like his uncle.
Stugotz
Yeah, no, well, that's what. That's what.
Tony
No, that's what players are we talking about?
Stugotz
Well, whoever would actually show up to a meeting, so probably, like, I don't know, Mike Bibby or something.
Tony
Bibby. Maybe if Sacramento State is on a. Maybe a. A home stretch.
Stugotz
Yeah, like, no, I mean, look, let's be real. Not Michael Jordan. Right? But you also have to have someone assigned to, like, security detail for the ball so that, like, Amin's great aunt or whatever isn't going to sign you.
Dan Le Batard
Like, oh, no, no, no.
Stugotz
Let's move over here. Let's go get some, like, finger food or something. We don't want you signing that ball.
Tony
Yeah. Don't touch it.
Stugotz
Exactly.
Dan Le Batard
Photograph protocol at funeral. Can you, like, go next to Michael Jordan?
Stugotz
Less than autographs. I think taking photos is worse than autographs.
Tony
You do worse at a funeral.
Stugotz
Are you gonna do, like, throw up the peace sign? Two up, two down, next to the dead body right next to the tombstone?
Tony
Yeah, for sure.
Dan Le Batard
He slipped that in on you, man. He slipped that in on you. You can. I mean, I've been to funerals where people take pictures because it's like. It's one of the rare times when you get a whole bunch of family together. So people take pictures. But can you smile next to MJ in a funeral picture?
Amin Elhassan
He's not gonna smile.
Tony
I don't think you want to smile.
Dan Le Batard
You don't?
Tony
No. Because you want it. You want it to feel like you and MJ are connected in that way. So it can't be like, he's sad. You're in the back. Like, I get to meet him. It's got to be like, just me and my boy.
Dan Le Batard
So you got to get a candid. You got to get a candidate, right?
Tony
Yeah, yeah.
Dan Le Batard
You got to get a candid where.
Tony
You got to match his energy. If he's laughing, you laugh.
Stugotz
Well, he's never crying.
Tony
You cry if he's sad, you. If he's confused. Like, wait, that's Amino Hatson. Then you are confused. Cause you. Like, I thought this was.
Dan Le Batard
I thought this was Khalid El Amin. Yeah. I got confused.
Tony
What?
Amin Elhassan
All you gotta do is slip the photographer of 20 and be like, look, the moment MJ gets up to the casket to look over, you get to the other side. I'm gonna stand next to Him. And we're both gonna look into the casket, and you take the picture from the front, right? So you're kind of looking over with M.J. like, we seconded it. Can't believe it. But you and MJ next to each other. And then you kind of threw one.
Stugotz
But hold on a second. Are you. This is taking from behind because you're gonna need someone to go on the other side.
Amin Elhassan
Yeah, the other side. That's why I slipped the guy at 20.
Stugotz
But somehow you almost need the camera inside the casket, right? Like, you need to set up, like, a selfie camera body. Because if it's an open casket, it's the wrong angle. Because if you're over it, it's looking down. You got to get it inside going up, looking at them.
Tony
You don't want to put, like, the meta glasses on a mean. Oh, well, then it's sideways.
Stugotz
Yeah, but then you're looking up.
Dan Le Batard
Orient. We can reorient.
Stugotz
You can set the meta glasses, like, on his chest looking up at you.
Dan Le Batard
I have a friend from high school who I went to his house. I'll never forget this. And his family took pictures of people in open caskets, dead family members, and had just a wall of Polaroids of all the people. And I was like, I don't want.
Tony
To talk bad about dead wall, but yeah.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Tony
That sounds like it was serial killer vibes.
Dan Le Batard
It was wild. I mean, it wasn't his choice. He was a kid in family. Something that they did. Hold on, hold on.
Tony
That sounds like they're in this.
Stugotz
Hold on a second.
Tony
Now I'm wondering, how did those people die?
Stugotz
Wait. They had, like, a wall of just casket pictures of their family members.
Tony
Like, you're in a pizzeria, and they've.
Mike Ryan
Like, a famous person walks in.
Dan Le Batard
They put the picture on the wall.
Stugotz
Where's the dead wall? Like, what part of the house was it in?
Dan Le Batard
It was just, like, in a hallway. Like, you come. It wasn't a big house. So you, like, come in, and then there's, like, a hallway to get to.
Stugotz
The back rooms of casket pictures.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah. So hallway and Polaroids.
Mike Ryan
Polaroid stuck to the wall.
Dan Le Batard
It's a piece of tape.
Tony
It was real weird. They had, like, machetes with blood still on them in this room. It was dark. We weren't supposed to be in the cellar. And they said, don't open the fridge no matter what you do. But it was cool. It was just vibes, man.
Stugotz
Me and my boy, were they embalmers or something? They're like, showing off their work?
Dan Le Batard
No, just family.
Amin Elhassan
Were they white guys?
Dan Le Batard
Nope.
Amin Elhassan
Interesting.
Dan Le Batard
Yep. Second generation.
Tony
Did they. Were they. Did they do, like, body, like, makeup? Like, you know, people that. It wasn't like, a portfolio of, like, man, look at these caskets we designed.
Dan Le Batard
I mean, that doesn't make it much less weird.
Tony
Nah, it's weird.
Dan Le Batard
It's just like remembering family members. We put them up there in this.
Tony
Moment in their dead state.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Amin Elhassan
Speaking of dead state, have you seen those things where the people have. The dead people, but they're at the club and the dead person's there, like, holding a Heineken? Have you seen that before?
Tony
Weekend at Bernie's type?
Amin Elhassan
Yes, but people have, like, a celebration.
Dan Le Batard
Where, like, I thought it was just one time.
Amin Elhassan
No, I've seen it. I've seen it. I've seen it.
Dan Le Batard
So I remember seeing a story where is one time where a guy wanted to have a party. Like, he made it clear when he died, he wanted them to celebrate at the club.
Amin Elhassan
Like one of those New Orleans funerals.
Dan Le Batard
No, no, no, no.
Amin Elhassan
Like, him being there. Like, the guy had a blunt and a Heineken. And I was like, yeah, isn't this guy dead?
Dan Le Batard
They. They had, like, a party at a club. I remember it one time. You said it like it's a thing. I don't know. Maybe it's a thing, but I remember seeing the story and there's a picture of a guy on a stage at a casket.
Tony
Mm. Yeah. I don't hate it, I guess. Where would you want your funeral to be at? Like, if you could really be like, yo, take me out one more time doing this, what would you. Cause you're not gonna have, like, the confidence to actually do it. You should.
Dan Le Batard
I'm not. No, I'm the wrong person to ask for this. Maybe I could think about it, but I've made it clear to everybody in my life, I don't care. Like, I don't really care.
Tony
You don't care I'm gone, right? Yeah. No, you won't care.
Dan Le Batard
Like, I mean, it's up to you. If y'all want to do something, knock yourself out. Yeah, but, like, I'mma be gone.
Tony
Facts.
Dan Le Batard
I don't think that I'm not gonna. I don't know. Maybe I'll be looking down, pissed off at them because they decided to dress me up in a football uniform and put me on the field. Like, hey, Dominique, always want to get one last snap with cleats on.
Amin Elhassan
Or no.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, yeah, you gotta go to full deal. Why Would you stop at cleats?
Amin Elhassan
I mean, people aren't looking at your feet in the open casket.
Tony
Let's dirt in the casket. Just little grass.
Amin Elhassan
Hand. Hand in the dirt.
Tony
Yep. Die pads. This is how we'll always remember you.
Dan Le Batard
What would you want?
Tony
I like the club idea. I. I do, because I. I want everyone to have a good time while I'm there. I would like to. I would like my funeral to be a roast. And you gotta make sure you roast everyone in the room, too. Like, it's not like, yes, roast me, but also, like, make sure, like, you know, everybody gets it.
Dan Le Batard
They're embalming Amin right now. Look at him getting that makeup. Right? At least we know that he's not gonna have a hangover.
Tony
You don't get to put on makeup when you're late, man.
Dan Le Batard
You gotta.
Tony
You gotta. No, you gotta come in. What you got? I mean, you don't get to. He was getting a haircut.
Dan Le Batard
I know. You gotta.
Tony
Why does he look so fresh?
Dan Le Batard
I mean, I think the idea. Anytime I've ever, like. I'm not late often, but anytime I've ever been late, I start breathing hard.
Ryan Reynolds
There's gotta be a scary to it.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah. I come in, and even if I'm not out of breath, I start breathing hard to demonstrate to them. I feel like it's a show of respect. It's like, I'm sorry, man.
Tony
I tried.
Ryan Reynolds
No, two, three blocks.
Dan Le Batard
No excuses. I'm accountable. This is on me.
Tony
This is on me.
Dan Le Batard
But I would like them to know. They're like, I ain't want it to be like this.
Tony
I left my car on the freeway and I ran here. When you're in football and you're. There's no scarier moment. For anyone who doesn't know this, okay? When you play professional football and you're late or running late.
Ryan Reynolds
Not for the Dolphins.
Dan Le Batard
Tony knows.
Tony
No. There is no scarier thing in my life ever to this day than being 20 seconds on pace for being 20 seconds late. You genuinely are like, do I wreck my car?
Dan Le Batard
Yeah. It's crossed your mind, Especially when you. You're not at the top of the roster. What I definitely would have considered in the past, and the one thing for me when I was young enough to be, like, really upset about this. I live less than a mile from the facility, so it was hard for me to come up with some sort of lie.
Tony
You got a wreck, bro. You either gotta slash your tire on the highway, like, poke it, or you just gotta. Just a little light into a pole. Just a little.
Dan Le Batard
You just gotta skin it a little bit.
Tony
You guys think I'm joking. I'm being so serious. I can promise you there's been multiple players.
Dominique Foxworth
He said the applicable part, though. Especially if you're. What?
Dan Le Batard
If you're young enough that it matters.
Dominique Foxworth
No, no, no. You said something else. Especially if you're not at the top of the roster.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, right.
Tony
All right.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Tony
So let's not. Let's not. You don't get to come in and not address the elephant.
Dan Le Batard
No, no. I think he's trying to make a point.
Dominique Foxworth
I am the elephant.
Cuervo
Oh.
Dominique Foxworth
I don't address it. I am.
Tony
Okay, so I know what happened. You got a haircut this morning, and you can't control the barber's time. No, no, no. I've been here. I know you can make up whatever lie you're about to tell me. I know a fresh haircut when I see one. And that is the only situation when you're in the chair. You can't just be like, yo, I gotta go Middle Town. Like, nah, you got a haircut this morning.
Dominique Foxworth
40 under 40. Y'all talked about that yet?
Dan Le Batard
Oh, yeah, we. Day one. Oh, day one.
Dominique Foxworth
So this is an interesting thing. When I turned 40, like, literally, like, three weeks before I turned 40, they asked me to host the 40 under 40. So it was like, that was as close as I got. So I said, fine. Cool. Everyone's like, yo, this is easy. It's fish in a barrel. There are no losers. It's not like someone got nominated and didn't win. Everybody wins. So everyone's, like, in a good mood. I said, cool, I'll do it. Me and Kari, Champion, we're gonna host it. I said I had all these jokes written out. It's perfect. I go there, and I'm working my best material. I mean, stuff I wrote, silence, everything. Everyone's just staring at me like, what's going on? What's happening here? How am I bombing this Hard? So in the first intermission, I grabbed the guy, the organizer guy, who said, what happened, man? You said it was fish in a barrel. He said, they changed the format this year. In years past, everyone was allowed to go out into the lobby, get a drink, keep coming back in, in and out sober. It was a dry, dry. Everyone was like, f all of this, like, they just kept staring at me with the anger of sobriety. And I was like, oh, man.
Tony
Now you got this guy telling jokes.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Dominique Foxworth
Like, he thinks he's funny.
Tony
Now that I hear the octaves that you're Talking with. Yeah, you were asleep.
Dominique Foxworth
No, I wasn't.
Stugotz
Okay.
Tony
I want to change my haircut. You got a haircut last night before you kicked it number one. Your body clock did not not help you out this morning.
Dominique Foxworth
I wasn't asleep.
Tony
I hear it in your voice.
Dominique Foxworth
No, my voice is my voice. I have a deep voice. I can't help it. I'm like Dominique. You don't hear the bass.
Dan Le Batard
What the hell is going on? You are late.
Stugotz
How?
Dan Le Batard
We talk about 40 under 40. We talk about shape ups. We talk about the octaves in your voice.
Cuervo
It's called a deflection, Dominique.
Dan Le Batard
Explanation. Like we're all waiting. We even got worried. We thought you was dead.
Tony
We finally thought you died.
Dan Le Batard
From the man who yesterday told us that his. His body. I'm built different is what you said. You called yourself iron man.
Ryan Reynolds
Here's the clip.
Dominique Foxworth
Who doesn't get hangovers? Who doesn't sleep a lot? Who doesn't need coffee? Yeah, I think that. I don't know. Check, check, check.
Dan Le Batard
One day later, you show up late, and you think that we want to talk about the time when you told some bad jokes.
Dominique Foxworth
I didn't tell bad jokes. Hold on now. Hold on now. You know what? You know what? You gonna disrespect me anyway? You're not gonna disrespect me about my jokes.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, well, them shits was fire. I'm sorry. The time when hundreds in the audience.
Tony
Decided that what you were saying wasn't.
Dan Le Batard
Funny, but the jokes were obviously funny.
Stugotz
It was format changes.
Dan Le Batard
It's just the time when you got undercut by the format. Sober.
Dominique Foxworth
They were angry about being sober. I can't help that.
Dan Le Batard
So what you do last night or this morning? Like, why?
Dominique Foxworth
What I do last night? I'm glad you brought that up.
Tony
There we go.
Dominique Foxworth
Oh, man. This guy. Either he's completely naive or the greatest alley oop man of all time. You know what I did last night, Hawk? I went to the Heat. Gift?
Tony
Yep. Check.
Dominique Foxworth
Hey, was I the only person here at the Heat game or did someone else go? Anyone else? Any. Did you go to the Heat game?
Amin Elhassan
No, sir.
Dominique Foxworth
Jeremy.
Mike Ryan
Not I. John Moran, I think.
Dominique Foxworth
Yeah, John Moran was. He was awesome.
Dan Le Batard
He was incredible.
Dominique Foxworth
Yeah. Chris, did you go?
Ryan Reynolds
I did not go. Dominique went.
Dominique Foxworth
Oh, Dominique went. Did he? Well, Dominique, surely you guys were sitting like. I mean, it's a big game. It was a TNT game. Were you sitting upstairs?
Dan Le Batard
No, sir.
Stugotz
What?
Dominique Foxworth
Were you sitting.
Amin Elhassan
You're deflecting.
Dan Le Batard
Behind. Behind the green screen.
Tony
Also, he has durag lines on his Forehead.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, that man was.
Tony
As a black man, I could see that he was knocked out the door. That ding from Chris woke my boy up.
Amin Elhassan
Gotta keep those waves on your head.
Dominique Foxworth
The durag came off probably about 10 minutes ago. Okay, that part I'm not doing.
Tony
I'm just doing a little black man detective work. Don't mind me. Keep talking. I'm. Crack this code.
Dan Le Batard
I see cognac in your eyes.
Dominique Foxworth
There was another black man cognac, yellow. There was another black man doing detective work last night, and it was Amino Hassan. Finding out that, hey, Dominic, you go by yourself? Clearly, you only had the one ticket they handed to you, and you're like, I can't bring anyone else. I gotta bring. I gotta go by myself.
Dan Le Batard
Nope, have four tickets.
Dominique Foxworth
Oh, you had four. Wow. Anyone else that I know, you might.
Dan Le Batard
Have gone with Jason Goff, the man who inspired my crochet shirt today.
Tony
It's a nice shirt, man.
Dan Le Batard
Thank you. Jason Goff was killing me all week in the knits. I was like, let me go get it. Let me go get a fresh knit.
Tony
I was. I was a fan of his.
Dominique Foxworth
Four tickets behind the bench. Nary not even like, hey, I mean, we don't have an extra one, but we'll be at the game. We'll see you there. Nothing. Just like, hey, all right, all right, guys, we gotta go. I gotta go to the gym. I gotta go work out.
Dan Le Batard
Hey, guys, I apologize for amin being late today. It's because I didn't invite him to sit next to me. And Jason Goff, I take full responsibility. Hand ups, accountability plays.
Dominique Foxworth
There was an empty seat, wasn't there? Black, two empty seats. Yeah, they had extras. This is. By the way, this is a night after. Hey, guys, let's all meet up and, like, we're tired. Well, we went to dinner. I'm like, well, first of all, thank you.
Tony
Like, I'll show you an empty seat. Thank you for the invite. Tomorrow morning, I'll show you an empty seat. You son of a.
Dan Le Batard
So that's what this is?
Tony
This is payback.
Dan Le Batard
You decided to prove a point by. By showing me an empty seat?
Dominique Foxworth
You know what I didn't do? I wasn't clamoring like, where's everybody? You know, I just looked at him, I said. And then he said, oh, man. And I said. He said, what are you doing here? I was like, I'm working. Some of us work for a living is exactly what I said to him.
Dan Le Batard
So now I'm gonna try to demonstrate for you how someone speaks directly to the accusations I'm not gonna go about some roundabout story about when I hosted a show. I'm not gonna deflect and tell Hawk about.
Dominique Foxworth
Sound like you're deflecting right now, brother. Sound like right now you're going on a deflection.
Dan Le Batard
I'm not gonna tell everyone about how Hawk made me do it. None of that happened. I'll tell you exactly what happened.
Dominique Foxworth
How did Hawk.
Dan Le Batard
Jason Goff bought four tickets. One of his friends come from in town, and one for and two for me and Charlie. He said, you want to go to the game? I said, yeah, we get to the game, we see you. I say, what are you doing here? You say, working, so it sounds like to me you had to work. You couldn't come anyway. And that's what happened. Jason Goff's friend came late. Charlie decided to go hang out with his in laws. And so we had two extra seats. And they weren't my tickets. I didn't pay for them. Goff paid for them. That's what happened.
Dominique Foxworth
For the second time this week, I'm gonna make an R. Kelly reference.
Tony
Oh, what are you doing, man?
Dan Le Batard
Judgment. Just a judgment. You wanted me to choose.
Tony
I didn't know I had a toy.
Mike Ryan
I would not have gone to my.
Tony
In life deflected that.
Stugotz
Oh, wow.
Dominique Foxworth
If I had a dollar, it was yours. That's. You know what? That's the spirit. Even if I said, you know what, I don't need your dollar, you can keep it.
Stugotz
Why were you late?
Tony
Hey, Bill. Why do you think he's late? He doesn't want to talk about it. We're gonna go around the room.
Dominique Foxworth
Who's Bill?
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, we getting serious. When you get late, we get serious. You drop the Y.
Cuervo
That's fine.
Stugotz
We're fin.
Tony
You drop the Y. This is this drop the Y you business, Bill, can I call you the attorney? This is attorney Bill.
Dominique Foxworth
I'm gonna call you and Andy from now on.
Tony
Call me Andy.
Dan Le Batard
The problem is we got two hours a show, so you can try to burn out this minute all you want.
Tony
We gonna get to the bottom of this.
Dan Le Batard
Gonna get to this.
Ryan Reynolds
I think the question is, we all know he doesn't appear to be hungover. So what he claimed about not getting hungover, I believe. But it does seem like your body clock that you said you don't need an alarm may have failed you this morning. Is that true?
Dominique Foxworth
No.
Tony
Then what?
Ryan Reynolds
So you just woke up on time?
Stugotz
It's still set to Arizona time. Your body clock.
Cuervo
You took too long in a shower.
Tony
No, he put his durag on. So he couldn't have been the durag.
Dominique Foxworth
The durag was on last night drunk.
Tony
You know what I'm saying? Like, because it wasn't so drunk to cause a sleeping. It's like I put my durag on now. He could have been on. Muscle memory. I've been there as well. Right?
Dominique Foxworth
Wait, explain that one.
Tony
I will not let you keep kicking it back to me.
Ryan Reynolds
He wakes up, he's like, I don't even remember putting this thing on.
Tony
Yeah, yeah.
Dan Le Batard
No, it's like you do it every night.
Tony
Who put my durag for me? You know, it's just this.
Dominique Foxworth
That's happened to you. You woke up and you're like, what is this on my head?
Dan Le Batard
Have you seen his hair? Yeah, the hawk. Don't play games about his hair.
Tony
I can't. You know, this is.
Dan Le Batard
He got like a two day old shape up and was like, I got to wear a hat cuz I can't, I can't show this new growth.
Dominique Foxworth
The young people remember this. In the 90s we were convinced that Steve Harvey had his Shape up done with a laser.
Cuervo
That's a sponge, man.
Ryan Reynolds
So it feels like he's lying right? About the alarm. Oh yeah, for sure.
Tony
Absolutely. Alarm thing.
Dominique Foxworth
Now obvious was obviously supposed to be in there.
Amin Elhassan
Obviously he was wearing a spill.
Ryan Reynolds
I mean like, I don't think you would just wake up on time and be like, you know what, I'll just show up at 9:50.
Dominique Foxworth
No, because I, I wake up and then I do things.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, you have a process. Okay, yeah, no, I checked the chat.
Dominique Foxworth
That's true. It's still going, so that's an issue.
Dan Le Batard
We're gonna lose you at some point.
Stugotz
Why didn't you just say you got a haircut? You had an easy out.
Tony
He should have just jumped.
Stugotz
Yeah. Oh, you're right. Then I started out a haircut.
Ryan Reynolds
You know why I feel more.
Tony
And then I was like, that wasn't it.
Dan Le Batard
You know why?
Dominique Foxworth
You know why you can't get a.
Tony
Haircut with a durag on.
Dan Le Batard
You're a hell of an investigator.
Amin Elhassan
You know bobbers don't work at 7am.
Dan Le Batard
That'S the same thing.
Tony
I mean, I got a haircut this morning at 6:00am Roy, so I earned that money. Did I pay triple? I did, but they will do it for the right price.
Cuervo
