Juju Gotti
Hey.
Tony
Stat of the day presented by Miller Lite.
Jeremy
So someone grouped all of the teams in the what are constantly referred to as the four major sports in America. So Major League Baseball, NBA, NFL, NHL. And grouped them by playoff winning percentage.
Tony
All time.
Jeremy
All time.
Unknown Speaker
Wow.
Jeremy
In the history of their sport, gotta.
Tony
Be some heavy hitters up here.
Jeremy
In the NFL, it's the New England Patriots.
Tony
Brady.
Jeremy
In the NBA, it's the Los Angeles Lakers.
Unknown Speaker
Sure.
Tony
Expected.
Jeremy
In the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers. In Major League Baseball, it's your Miami Marlins.
Unknown Speaker
No way.
Jeremy
Greatest playoff winning percentage of all time.
Juju Gotti
No.
Tony
That's what happens when you make the playoffs. Three times.
Jeremy
Four times. Oh, was it four? Four times total? 2020 and 2023. But they only played three games each and then the. They made it. They won the World Series. Wow, that's ridiculous. Number two is the Yankees.
Unknown Speaker
We welcome in Julian Juju Gotti. What's up, Juju? First of all, I want to ask you. We didn't get any time on the show about this, but me and Tony are on to this Ace Bailey thing. What are your take on Ace Bailey and his draft strategy, Juju?
Juju Gotti
I think basically you know how the same situation Shador found himself in, man, it's like the old guard wants you to do. Do a certain thing their way no matter what it is. And if you deviate from that path, they're going to label you now this, they're going to label you this. Oh, undraftable, uncoachable. But it's just the fact that he doesn't want to jump through the same hoops that our ancestors jump through. Our, our previous people jumped through. And so they're. Right, Right. So they're just labeling him that now. But I don't think his Draft stock should fall because we saw what the brother can do. He's going to contribute greatly to a team.
Unknown Speaker
See, juju, I have a theory. I didn't get to unleash this on the show, but I'm releasing it now on the. On the universe. Number one is obviously Cooper Flag. He's going to Dallas. Number two, San Antonio. They're probably taking Dylan Harper. Number three is Philadelphia. Maze Bailey. I want to play in Philadelphia. Do I want to play behind Embiid and Maxey and Paul, George and McCain? No, man, I want my. I want my show. So Philadelphia. I don't want to go there. Then the next one is Charlotte. Same thing. Lamelo Ball and Bridges. Man, those guys are doing like I got. And what was the kid? Brandon.
Brandon Miller.
Brandon Miller. Like, oh, no. Number five is Utah. I definitely don't want to go to Utah.
Hell no.
Number six is Washington, who I got to beat out. Bilal Koulibaly. I could do that. Like, and then Washington is like a cooler city. It's closer. He's from Tennessee. It's closer to Tennessee. It's close to New York. It's close to Atlanta. It's close to all the cool places. I think he wants to go to Washington, and this is all about him just not wanting to go to the three teams that pick ahead of Washington.
Juju Gotti
I like it. I can dig it. Even though Washington is never going to compete for a championship. I'm gonna put that on wax. In the history of the earth, Washington will never compete for a championship. Book. It puts on the scroll.
Unknown Speaker
This. This connects to what Jeremy just said about, like, the Marlins. This is what happens when you only make the playoffs four times or whatever.
Rip the Bullets.
The. The. The Wizards haven't been to the conference finals since they lost in the finals in 79. Like, they haven't been to the. To the. They haven't been past the second round since 79.
Even with Gill.
Even with all of them.
Damn.
They never made it. They met. I don't even think Gil made it out of the first round, to be honest with you. Because they kept meeting LeBron in the first round and losing. No, it's. It's one of those crazy things. It's like they. That's why Tony Kornheiser says there's a curse on the curse of Les Bule. Like, there's. They curse. So, juju, I hate to take the thunder out of your. Your prediction, but it's kind of like, yeah, man, that's pretty accurate, right?
Juju Gotti
Speaking of taking the Thunder Out Report. Breaking news. The Heat are very interested in Jonathan Kaminga. Guys, what do you think about that?
Unknown Speaker
Come Bucket.
Jeremy
I think he said it all looks.
Unknown Speaker
This is the part where I think Miami and Dan tried to get me in the lightning round about this, and I'm like, this isn't a lightning round topic. If you're Miami, you got to do one of two things. Either you got to go take a swing on someone who you think could be great but no one else really does right now, or you got to go get the established guy who's available. Kevin Durant was available. They hemmed and they hauled. Was it about needing more than what was reported? More picks? Whatever. Doesn't matter. All that matters is you deemed it not worthy of going after. So the next best thing I think you do is you got you look at Jonathan Kaminga. He's a restrictive free agent. He probably doesn't want to go back to Golden State. Truth be told, Golden State probably doesn't want him back. They had an opportunity to play him and they never really did. He doesn't fit the way they play. So if you're Miami, it's like, okay, it'll cost me some money, but if I can acquire him, that's the beginning piece of something. And then try to find out what's next after that.
Tony
What's next after Jeremy wants Markkanen?
Jeremy
Yeah, I think Lauri Markkanen would be like a perfect guy for the Heat to go after, but I just don't know what the market looks like, what Utah's actual willingness to trade him would look like. If you could. I don't think you can find a way to get him without literally including, like everything that they have on the table, including Khalil Ware.
Unknown Speaker
And.
Jeremy
And so in turn, I just do think that Markkanen and Bam would play remarkably well off of one another, both offensively and defensively. And if Bam is going to be the Stalworth of your team, you need to put him in the greatest position to succeed. And Markkanen's a guy playing alongside him that could do that.
Unknown Speaker
So there's two things going on there. Number one is you've got to deal with someone who looks at this guy as an asset, and I want some in return. Danny Ainge, he's not just going to give you.
Jeremy
He's the worst guy to deal with.
Unknown Speaker
Right. Number two versus Kamingo, where it's like.
Jeremy
They don't want him depreciated asset.
Unknown Speaker
Right. They just, like, they just want to get something for him, but it's not like, oh, I couldn't give you my Jonathan Kamingo, where Danny angel will do that with Laurie Markkanen. Number two is Lauri Markkanen because he signed that extension under a contract for the next four years. Make it 46. 4, 46 1, 49. What's that? 49, 8 and then 53, 4. Kuminga's a lot cheaper than that.
Jeremy
Yeah, absolutely.
Unknown Speaker
And so, so you don't spend as much, you don't give up as much in the sign and trade for Kamingo versus a trade for Lori Markkanen. And you know, he's got some upside to him.
Jeremy
Markkanen is the right guy to pair right now with just sort of the guys who are out there. If you're not going to add Durant, you still want to add a high level player. I think the reality is for Miami right now is they're in this weird in between because next season they will have such a tremendous amount of flexibility because they have so many contracts coming off the books. They have Tyler Herro in that position if he doesn't sign an extension now going in to the final year of a deal. And they have one more year to evaluate what Hero and Bam can look like leading a roster. They want to make this roster a better version of itself to give them the best chance to succeed. But I also like, I can understand if their thought process from here, if not getting Durant at the price they want is let's go into a full season with a similar look, basically give the keys to the couple of younger guys and Bam and Tyler and see what we look like come the trade deadline whether or not guys have built up their value, lowered their value and sort of evaluate from there because they're in this weird in between phase.
Unknown Speaker
Yeah. See, to me it's like the cost of getting Kaminga is going to be, it's minimal, like as far as asset giving up. Right. And that's, that's the thing. It's just, can you get Golden State to play ball with a sign and trade? So that's the only question to me. But you know that fits with what you're talking about.
Jeremy
Yep, 100%. It's an upgrade, upgrade at that position, but not necessarily an investment. That, that's too deep into the future.
Juju Gotti
Is Bam to the Lakers a real thing or is it just, Come on, father, the Internet.
Unknown Speaker
This is, we're back, you know where we're back. We're back to when Kobe was still playing every off season, every Trade deadline. The Lakers led the league in Photoshops.
They had the photoshop season lead the league in that now.
Yeah, now. Now that he.
I seen Luka in one. I've seen.
Jeremy
Damn, you'll be seeing Luka all season long. Just so you know.
Unknown Speaker
Juju, what are the polls?
Juju Gotti
Before we get to the polls I have to. Dewana Bronner has been released by the Indiana Fever. What the legend. She apparently reportedly a couple of disagreements with how her roster position was being handled. She didn't necessarily agree with it and so instead of trading her, the Indiana Fever has decided to just release her and her destinations of choice she says is Phoenix or either Atlanta. So you know, I don't have a problem with that. Big news in the wnba. You know what I'm saying, Juju?
Unknown Speaker
Caitlina Bonner, two time champ. That first championship she won in Phoenix. Yeah, you're welcome.
Juju Gotti
You had to look it up. Yeah.
Unknown Speaker
What's up?
Tony
Did you have to look that up?
Unknown Speaker
I knew she was on the team corner.
Juju Gotti
Also big night from the sky. Camila Cardoso, 27 points. Angel Reese. Then she had 18 and 17. This fever got the W with behind the big performance from Aaliyah Boston last night and Kelsey Mitchell Mystics got it done over the over the number one seeded Minnesota Links. Even though Nafisa Collier is not necessarily healthy right now. She didn't get a chance to play last night but still a great win. And my Dallas, I mean and my Atlanta dream went down to the Dallas Wings last night behind a great performance from the first time start from Lee Yaru. Back to you guys.
Unknown Speaker
Back to you Juju, what's the polls?
Juju Gotti
Okay, the pose for the day brought to you by DraftKings. Do you celebrate your child's six month birthday?
Tony
This is big, Tony.
Juju Gotti
92% of the audience says no they don't damn.
Unknown Speaker
Neither a lot.
All right, Louis.
Juju Gotti
What do you like more people or your team winning? Also I was gonna throw this. Throw this in. Friend or co worker? Dangerous game. Very dangerous game.
Unknown Speaker
Some say the most dangerous.
Juju Gotti
The game's really.
Jeremy
You're a liar because you're just gonna say that the person's your friend because.
Unknown Speaker
They'Re gonna listen to what about friend or employee. Right.
Juju Gotti
I found out the hard way co workers neither here nor there. 94 of the audience says your team winning.
Unknown Speaker
Of course.
Juju Gotti
Were you afraid that the trophy was going to Tip Chad over? 85% of the audience says yes they were.
Unknown Speaker
Wasn't the trophy, it was alcohol that was going to tip them over.
Juju Gotti
Right. And the last poll, did we inconvenience the Thunder by making them win the NBA championship? 93% of the audience says yes, we did.
Unknown Speaker
Of course.
Juju Gotti
Back to you guys.
Unknown Speaker
Those are the polls. Thanks a lot, Juju.
Juju Gotti
Thank you.
