Hey, folks, it's Mike Ryan. And if you're watching our show, you probably know and your boy has undergone a little bit of a body transformation. And I gotta tell you, Peloton has helped me on my fitness journey. It got the ball rolling for me because I watch my wife on the peloton. She takes all these great classes. She has her favorite instructors. I listen to the music, I'm a big music guy. Gets me fired up. Makes me want to take part in this fitness phenomenon known as Peloton. Peloton offers a variety of challenging classes, from four week strength building classes to running, cycling, and everything in between. Peloton will help you achieve your goals and maybe you'll have some fun along the way. I know I have. It's backed by thousands of members whose lives have been changed. Be part of that group. Telling you I'm better for it. Have it in my office. Sometimes I can put on the baseball game. Sometimes I can put on a soccer match. Some other times I'm totally locked in on an emo playlist. Jimmy John
Spliff Notes is sponsored by Jimmy John's. They're finally here and they're hot. Try the new toasted sandwiches at Jimmy John's. Order one today.
Dan
Those sandwiches are delicious. I don't know if any were left. I saw people putting them in their pockets. It was. It was some meh. Tony, did you miss out on the sandwich? I had three of them, Dan. Okay, you had three of them. I. I saw the chicken bacon ranch. I had the ital. Did you see anybody smuggling sandwiches? I felt like there was some sandwich smuggling going on. They're all gone. Okay. I didn't see any sandwiches.
Mike Ryan
There are chips, though, in the kitchen.
Dan
Those are hidden, those juju. I imagine that the Stan Van Gundy, David Sampson segment was panned throughout the Internet, that David Sampson loves to fire people and Stan Van Gundy being hopelessly out of touch with the fired man. I would imagine our audience didn't react very well to any of that.
Juju
Yes, at first, when it first started, you edged people a little bit like, give it up for Stan Van Gundy. And then it was David Sampson. Then the whole chat just turned against the whole show. Like, wait, I thought he was gone. But then like you said, once it got into the hiring and firings and how NBA coaches experiences. Experience it versus the chat. Experienced it. Yeah, it was pretty rough for my brother Stan, bro. Give my boy Stan some grace. Audience.
Dan
No, there's no great for Stan. Do we have a less popular moment than that today? Did anybody. Were there any other criticisms levied against the show worth revisiting?
Juju
Nah, that was pretty unpopular outside of this right here. Like I want you to think about this. The Billy Gill segment yesterday. And you put Mike's father up yesterday next to George Clooney. Andrew Hawkins next to Method Man. Now close your eyes and imagine if we was doing that to women. I think we should not do that. You feel me objectifying men Sometimes it's just as critical in the MeToo era as the men. But hey, the women. Excuse me. But hey, keep, keep on doing your thing.
Dan
I don't think it's just as.
Jimmy John
But it's been done to women so long. We're evening it out is what we're doing. We're balancing it.
Dan
Equality. Let's give them a little, A little.
Jimmy John
Taste of their own medicine.
Dan
By pining lecherously about Method Man. This. I mean, okay, I just don't know. I don't know a lot of 50 year old plus who appear in front of the Internet's judgment and get swooning. I. There. There aren't many of them. I don't think male or female. What do you got?
Juju
But, but like you said, like Danny Green said though Method man has been revered in the black community as one of the most handsome men in the entire world for as long as he's been doing it. So I think my brother Billy yesterday was a little. It's not that he didn't know too. Too much. It's a two America situation.
Dan
But what about Greg Cody thinking that Andrew Hawkins name was Walter and having no idea who his colleague of many years is.
Greg Cody
Okay, he's not my colleague. He's not my colleague of many years. I've never met him. I've never been in the same room with him. I apologize. I didn't know him by name.
Dan
Craig, I am guessing that there is no one here that you have worked with over the last couple of years who works at Meadowlark whose name that you don't really know. Like. Like among people who have spoken at microphones. If I keep putting them in front of you, my guess is that you can name all of them except Walter Hawkins.
Greg Cody
Okay, can you say that I have worked someone I have worked with if I literally haven't worked with him?
Dan
Well, I thought you listened to our show. Like we know. We know things. That Michael Cody is someone who appears.
Chris Whittingham
On your show Friday morning at 9am.
Dan
I had to put in A WI.
Chris Whittingham
FI password for him this morning.
Greg Cody
Well, I mean, come on. You change WI FI on me, nobody tells me, you know, I identified that WI fi had been changed. I just didn't know the new password or whatever. I do listen to your show whenever I'm on it, but I just happen happen to have heard Hawkins. The dulcet tones of Andrew Hawkins. I'm sure he's wonderful. Good looking guy. I think what Juju said is accurate though. Like why are people asking me whether who I think is better looking between two men? If that were asked, what do I think? Who's better looker? Doris Burker.
Dan
I'm glad we came back.
Mike Ryan
We're gonna do Doris Day because then it would have been more like your ally.
Jimmy John
You like your ally, Juju.
Dan
I'm just saying.
Juju
Sorry guys.
Greg Cody
Good point.
Dan
Glad we returned to this.
Mike Ryan
I'm so thrilled your thoughts on Judy Garland.
Greg Cody
I love her. She's great. Give me those ruby slippers, baby. Betty Davis.
Dan
Okay, great, great. This is exactly what I wanted to do. Please just keep naming starlets from the 30s.
Mike Ryan
I think we found an okay way to objectify women in the modern day.
Greg Cody
Doris Day, never my favorite.
Chris Whittingham
I think I. I know something that can bring us all together. Greg. Not knowing Hawkins is really Dan's fault because if he did a better job of, you know, introducing people and communicating who works here and who doesn't work here, then maybe like we would all know who everyone else is.
Greg Cody
I think that's valid. And it's also valid for me to reiterate. I have never met Andrew Hawkins. Never been to the same room.
Dan
You thought his name was Wall.
Mike Ryan
I think we should.
Greg Cody
That's my affectionate Nick.
Mike Ryan
Everything is Dan's fault.
Greg Cody
I agree with that.
Dan
Yeah, you know what? I'd agree with it too. What else do we have in the way of NBA playoff talk? I don't feel like we. We had. We can get too much of it around here. Juju, what observations do you have from the last couple of days worth mentioning?
Juju
Yeah, something else that was Dan's fault. Kyle Kuzma revenge game yesterday. After going to Ofer the other day, he stepped up for the Milwaukee Bucks. Think that Doc Rivers, you know what I mean, he been doing it for so long, he might not see that Bobby Portis may need to be integrated into that starting lineup because right now the Indiana Pacers are jumping out so fast that by the time that he even gets in there, it's a lot of cleanup spot up work. So salute to Kyle Kuzma. But I Think the Bucks are doing a little wrong lineup wise. But welcome back, Dame Lillard as well.
Dan
Wait, wait, though, Juju, you just did something to me. Yesterday. I learned from Jessica that a legacy game can be inconclusive. Today. Today I'm learning that there was a Kyle Kuzma revenge game that ended in a loss.
Juju
Yeah, but it wasn't his fault. He didn't go over. If you watch that game, you would be like, damn, Kyle Kuzma was one of the pieces that actually kept them afloat during their.
Dan
But can it be a revenge game if you lose it? I'm asking the question sincerely. At LeBatard show. I understand you're putting a positive spin on things. You're right. I called him a career loser and he got revenge on me. But they still lost and they. And he's. And he's a career loser.
Juju
No one's gonna remember game two Pacers versus Bucks, but everyone's gonna remember the memes of Kyle Kuzma's offers. So I feel like he can get a little revenge meme wise.
Dan
Okay.
Juju
You feel me? Also, my bad. Go ahead.
Dan
No, please, no.
Juju
I was gonna switch gears a little bit and congratulate the sixth man of the year, like I told you a couple weeks ago, would be Peyton Pritchard. You feel me? Salute to my brother, Payton Pritchard, Secret Sauce sixth man of the year. I salute you, brother.
Dan
How much does Boston love Peyton Pritchard? Like, he's gonna go right behind Larry Bird, is he not? I believe Peyton Pritchard is more popular than Tatum.
Juju
Mmm, maybe. Maybe so. They got the Prince Please posters up right now selling numbers and doing. Doing things. It's all about the secret sauce in Boston. Shire. Men's of the world, Luke Cornettes of the world.
Jimmy John
I'm sure what you guys are talking about.
Mike Ryan
White guys.
Greg Cody
Yeah.
Mike Ryan
Talking about white guys.
Juju
One America. Also, happy 48th birthday to you. Can't see me right now or can you? John Cena, you feel me? Big week for my boy.
Mike Ryan
Also a white guy from Boston.
Dan
Polls. We need some polls updated here. What do we have for the day or the week that we have not gotten to.
Juju
Hold on one second. First poll from today's show is Greg Cody, the most fun of the columnists. 70. 78 of the audience says, yes, he is. Wow.
Greg Cody
I appreciate that. Thank you, audience.
Juju
Can you be named Budenhoser and be a good coach? 74% of the audience says, no, you cannot.
Dan
The name really does work against him. Right. If Belichick had me had been named Budenholzer he would have won less. Correct.
Mike Ryan
Football's different, though.
Dan
Is it? Yeah, football's different. You think that Budenholzer can be a winner in football? Yeah, of course.
Juju
Yeah.
Chris Whittingham
I like, totally disagree with this take. I think it's a strong name.
Greg Cody
Wow.
Mike Ryan
Yeah, it's a success. That makes the booed Belichick the booed.
Greg Cody
Yeah, I like that. Booting it.
Juju
47 over or under on American households with a dog.
Dan
That's crazy to me.
Juju
Right? 53% of the audience says over. They knew it, guys.
Dan
Does it not seem absurd to you that one out of every two American households has a dog? Does that does not seem strange to you?
Juju
It does seem strange.
Greg Cody
It doesn't to me. If you were combining dogs or cats like.
Dan
I'm not. I'm not. It's just dogs. I'm not doing well. So it is strange to you.
Greg Cody
I think it's high if you'd asked me for an over. Under.
Dan
That's what I was asking you. Which part of that were you not understanding? Okay, so you've changed your mind. We're changing minds around here.
Juju
And the last poll to update my dog, Tony, is Whittingham great at the soccer stuff while sucking at everything else?
Dan
Yes. Thank you.
Juju
86% of the audience says yes. He is we all.
Mike Ryan
This is the only audience that doesn't respect him at all. No, they don't. They respect him, but they know he's.
Dan
Got deficiencies in other places.
Mike Ryan
Yeah, but just there to just bully him at all, at all stops. Like he is so respected elsewhere.
Chris Whittingham
It's what our audience does best. Mike, you should know this as the leader of the bullies.
Juju
Chris Whittingham is a fancy lad.
Greg Cody
I got a dog in me.
