Dan Le Batard
Zaz is on an incredible hot streak all over sports media and all over Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam is where this journey began for Zaz. He won tickets when the Heat won a playoff game. The last good thing that the Miami Heat did, they then got summarily trounced in the playoffs, embarrassed by Cleveland.
Stugotz
If they lost that game, they would add Cooper flag. It's a push.
Dan Le Batard
It's a push for you. You could have had Cooper flag for the next decade, or you could have gone to Pearl Jam, the amazing shows that we saw. And now on the Facebook homepage, zaz, the fan page for Pearl Jam. So cool. Zaz looked the other day and was startled. Couldn't believe that it was his face. On the Facebook Pearl Jam celebration page.
Stugotz
I'm just, I'm on Facebook. I go on Facebook sometimes, and. And I'm on Facebook and I'm part of a, you know, Pearl Jam official fan club page on Facebook. And they changed the profile picture of the fan club page to a picture of me wearing a Pearl Jam shirt.
Dan Le Batard
And that's all you're wearing. You're very confident in that.
Stugotz
Well, yeah, and, you know, I, I, I put on it, hey, that's me. And the very first comment was a.
Billy Gill
Guy saying, what'd they have to say?
Stugotz
Go on.
Dan Le Batard
He's got two signature lines there. Go on. And what's that guy got to say?
Juju
Oh, he's got a few of them.
Dan Le Batard
What? He's got a few.
Stugotz
But those I'm workshopping.
Dan Le Batard
So those are in the same family. Go on. And what's he's got to say?
Juju
How you like that?
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, Juju is with us now. We've got an assortment of things to talk about to end the week here. July 4th week. Does it feel, Billy, a little more like July 4th week to you now?
Billy Gill
Yeah, we're getting there. Yeah, almost there.
Dan Le Batard
The skeletal crew today makes it feel a little more like that.
Billy Gill
Yeah, we know. We're getting there. Feels like July 4th.
Dan Le Batard
Want to talk July 4th movies or best movies to watch on July 4th with Juju. Want to update the polls as well before we open up the club. But, juju, what do you have for us on the WNBA front? I meant at some point here to get to the Sophie Cunningham sound. Do we have the Sophie Cunningham sound from earlier this week? I would like to play it for juju and the audience. We'll get to that in a second. But what else do you have for us, Juju?
Chris Cody
Yes, for the WNBA players have rejected the league's first CBA offer that they sent last week Phoenix, Mercury Star and WMPA player representative Satu Sabali described the proposal sent to the union as a slap in the face. There we go, more to come.
Dan Le Batard
I mean, it's worth a lot. The WNBA knows now, the players know they're worth a lot and they're not going to accept a lot less than a lot for what it is that they've developed as one of the great streaming sports options that had been undervalued before. Now. Do you have that Sophie Cunningham sound? Can we play that for juju, please?
Satu Sabali
I also think that you want to listen to your players too. Like where do they want to play? Where are they going to get excited to play in draw? I do think that Miami would have been a great one. Like everyone loves Florida. Nashville is an amazing city. Kansas City, amazing opportunity. There's a huge arena downtown that no one's using. And I think that the women's soccer league is showing that like people draw, you know. And so I'm not so sure what the thought process is there. At the end of the day, you also want to make sure that you're not expanding our league too fast. I think that's also another thing that you don't want teams to totally dominate and then have teams that aren't. And so I just think that it's kind of a hard decision making team or situation. But man, I don't, I don't know how excited you are to be on.
Dan Le Batard
Too much ambient noise there. You got to be able to do an interview without so many people not interested around you and what it is that you're saying. Yammering. What did you think of Sophie Cunningham talking about expansion there? Juju.
Chris Cody
Right. First of all, that's coming from someone who plays in a sellout arena every night in Indianapolis. So there's that. Also Lisa Leslie took to Twitter and said I need to have a meeting with the WNBA players asap because the Detroit they, they had one of the highest attend. I think they had the record breaking attendance for the WNBA and their expansion team back in the day. So she's a little tone death, but she'll get it together. Somebody will get in her ear soon.
Stugotz
That that's my first takeaway is does she know where she plays? It's a strange league. Sometimes the things that they complain about like they're adding, expand. It's those three cities that they're going to be adding before the end of 2030 is going to combine for $750 million in revenue, 250 to purchase for an entry fee. How about we just accept them into our league?
Billy Gill
And didn't it fail in Miami?
Dan Le Batard
Big?
Billy Gill
Like, she just wants to live in Miami or Nashville, it sounds like.
Chris Cody
All right, that's what it is. She wants to unrivaled invite.
Juju
Didn't it fail big? It did fail.
Billy Gill
It's a different league at the time, but big time.
Dan Le Batard
All right, very good. So the top five movies to watch on July 4th. I've got a nominee here. I will see if it's on. I'm going to write it down and we'll see if it's on juju's list. Any Oli? Are you just going to. You're going to go top five raw?
Chris Cody
I kind of got a lot of Oli, so I might need to expand it to a top 10 and go through them pretty fast. All right, go ahead, Inglorious bastards. You gotta check that out. Number 10, Armageddon. Number nine, Saving Private Ryan. Number eight, Terminator 2. Just a good movie. Number seven, Independence Day.
Dan Le Batard
I have that one. That's the one I wrote down, but.
Billy Gill
I went on a limb there. Huh.
Dan Le Batard
But Terminator 2, though, what's he doing? Like, what's Terminator? What does Terminator 2 have to do with July 4th? Absolutely nothing.
Chris Cody
Number six, do the right thing.
Dan Le Batard
Wait a minute.
Chris Cody
Number five, roots.
Dan Le Batard
I don't know what he's doing now.
Chris Cody
Number four, coming to America.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, these are just movies that he wants to watch.
Chris Cody
Number three, Rocky four. Number two, glory. And number one, django Unchained.
Dan Le Batard
This doesn't make this list. Makes no sense. It's just what Juju wants to watch on July 4th. Let's update some polls here at Le Batard show before we open up the club. What else you got, Juju? It's ridiculous what you just did there. Independence Day was like the only. Does do the right thing count just because it's a summer movie? Like, I don't. They don't even mention July 4th and do the right thing.
Chris Cody
Look, make your own list. Dano. Does Rick Carlisle look like a retired member of the Blue Man Group? 95 of the audience says yes, he does.
Juju
That's a Mark Sadness entry right there. That's really good.
Chris Cody
Hell, yeah. If the umpire is daydreaming during a check swing, is he going to hold out his hands and just do the Safe signal?
Stugotz
Got it.
Chris Cody
97 of the audience says yes. Yes, he is.
Juju
Big week for Chris Cody. Like your takes this week.
Chris Cody
If umpires aren't allowed in casinos, can they walk through a casino to get to a magic show. 57% of the audience says, no, they cannot.
Stugotz
Can't do that.
Chris Cody
Dang it.
Juju
But then we learn they are allowed to do both.
Chris Cody
Is lunch money still something that bullies take? 54% of the audience says, no, it is not.
Dan Le Batard
I really do have this question for you guys because I don't have children and you guys are in the non Jake Paul dad demo. Are kids still going to school with lunch money?
Juju
We've been packing lunch over here, but.
Dan Le Batard
Are kids all over America going to school with cash?
Billy Gill
They have like digital accounts and stuff. You put money in their accounts.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah. So you can't. So it can't be stolen.
Billy Gill
And they have like a number.
Dan Le Batard
So a bully can't steal your digital money.
Juju
Then.
Dan Le Batard
Then stealing lunch money.
Billy Gill
Money stolen all. The only time we sent my daughter to school with cash was like a book fair. It was like we put 25 in there in a little Ziploc and like.
Juju
Big sale for me.
Stugotz
And lunch is only like a dollar fifty. It's. It's a weak score for a bully.
Billy Gill
So you could feel you could steal the book fair money. That's the.
Dan Le Batard
Okay. I'm glad we got all those clarifications. Keep going.
Chris Cody
Speaking of daughters, I want to wish a happy birthday to one of our top listeners, Billy Gill's daughter. Early birthday coming up on Sunday. Salute my brother.
Billy Gill
She listens. That's nice. Thank you.
Juju
How many Jake Paul fights has she bough?
Billy Gill
Oof. She's seen like eight of them.
Dan Le Batard
I think you will forgive me here for not having the happy birthday to him.
Chris Cody
I don't care.
Dan Le Batard
Good luck.
Billy Gill
You nailed it. Well, tell the difference. She shares a birthday with juju. So juju's birthday is actually this weekend as well.
Dan Le Batard
Really?
Juju
That.
Chris Cody
Wow.
Juju
Happy birthday.
Chris Cody
Birthday to him. I don't care.
Billy Gill
Good luck, guys.
Chris Cody
Are you automatically awarded first base if you kill the umpire with the line drive? 77 of the audience says, yes, you are.
Stugotz
New strategy.
Chris Cody
More primitive. First down chain links or umpires drawing the protest. P63 of the audience says first down chain links.
Dan Le Batard
So wrong.
Chris Cody
Jake Paul's demo. 20 to 30 years old or 30 to 40 years old. 78% of the audience says 20 to 30 years old.
Juju
What about for boxing? I know for his YouTube channel what it is.
Chris Cody
I'm well out of that.
Dan Le Batard
All right, so at Lebatard show, please put that up there. Jake Paul's boxing demos so Mike can avoid being wrong.
Juju
We still haven't had a single member in the YouTube chat say they bought.
Dan Le Batard
This fight 2030 years old or 30 to 40 years old.
Juju
Do you think a quarter million people ordered this fight on?
Chris Cody
Daz N? I think Jake million bought a quarter of that quarter. If someone gave you a hundred chances, could you catch a fly ball with your bare hand? 89 of the audience says yes, they could.
Billy Gill
You give me a hundred chances at most things. I'm gonna do it.
Stugotz
I'm telling you. It's gotta be two tries.
Juju
You give Pat Riley 100, and he'll come back with months in.
Chris Cody
Which is which. Does a regular civilian have a better chance at catching an NFL punt or a fly ball?
Dan Le Batard
No. With your bare hand? It has to be. It's not. It's got to be a. It's got to be with the bare hand, not just a fly ball.
Chris Cody
Well, I screwed it up anyway.
Billy Gill
Let's change it.
Dan Le Batard
What do you think that's gonna come back?
Juju
Stop. Down. Rerack.
Chris Cody
66 of the audience says yes. That's on me.
Dan Le Batard
All right. That seems like a very poorly done poll by.
Chris Cody
I was rushing. Does Brownie Live with LeBron?
Stugotz
Definitely.
Chris Cody
79% of the audience says yes. He does. And do you know what a rotary phone is? 54% of the audience says yes. They do. And those are your polls.
Billy Gill
It says phone in there.
Dan Le Batard
That's the part that you. Juju. Happy, happy premature July 4th. And happy birthday as well. Prematurely, Sir?
Chris Cody
Yes, sir. Thank you.
