Chris
You're listening to Giraffe Kings Network.
Mike Ryan
That's right. It's time for against the spread and it's brought to you by our friends at DraftKings. DraftKings. The Crown is yours. Jeremy, what do we got?
Chris
The Auburn Tigers are the number one team in the country in college basketball, had won 14 in a row before losing to the Florida Gators. They are at Vanderbilt tonight before a huge matchup against number two Alabama this weekend. It's a get right game for Auburn. They are favored by nine and a half. We're taking Auburn against the spread, Mike Ryan.
Greg
We're turning our attention to the 51st state potentially up in Canada. That's right. The four nations begins this week and on Thursday will be in that barn when Finland take on the United States of America. Now, the United States of America are co favorites with Canada in this tournament. However, I think they'll get out to a slow start. I really like this Finland team because I got a lot of Florida Panthers and I don't think that there is a natural replacement on this roster yet for Quinn Hughes who has recently, we've all learned is not going to be playing in this. Jake Sanderson might be able to step up, but maybe not that early. Maybe it takes him a game or two to figure that out. So I'm going with Finland plus one and a half against the United States against the spread.
Stu
Alrighty then. Hey, Juju, how you doing?
Juju
I'm doing pretty good, brother. Good to see you, man.
Stu
I have an admission to make real quick when I heard Christopher say brought to you by when I was a kid and this is the truth.
Mike Ryan
Oh boy.
Stu
No, I used to hear people say brought to you by and I always thought I. For three years of my life, I thought it was Brock to you by vrock.
Mike Ryan
3 years you thought that?
Stu
Yeah, back when I was like, you know, 6, 7, 8 years old, learning words, learning sentences. Because it's always sounded like it brought to you by. Right? Am I wrong?
Billy
No, he's right.
Stu
I'm not crazy that day, Juju. Okay, thank you. I appreciate that universal support.
Dan
So you decided that that would be the way to lead this segment, brought to you by.
Stu
Because I hear him say it and nobody denies that it sounds like Brock to you by.
Dan
Yeah, it just doesn't make sense as Brock. Do you buy?
Stu
Okay, you could. He could start saying Brock to you by and then name a sponsor and the sponsor would never know the difference. Yeah, it would be fine.
Dan
Yeah.
Stu
Okay. Juju, quick question.
Juju
Yes, sir.
Stu
What did we talk Too much about today on the show. And the finalists are Heat, Jimmy Butler or vampires.
Juju
You can never talk enough. Vampires. So that's crossed off the list. I think the Jimmy Butler thing has grown on the audience just a little bit much. But you think, hey, I'm here for it.
Billy
And me.
Stu
Okay. And me.
Greg
We had new information.
Juju
Did we have new information? Speaking of new information, Tubby's from YouTube says new Greg shirt alert. Is it a new shirt?
Dan
It's not used to be. It's not really. He's been wearing the same three shirts and I've told him he should wear no other shirts because they look much better than the ones from the rumpled collection of the press box collection. The press box collection of dusty, dirty 30 year old shirts.
Stu
My plaid shirts that I've worn for 40 years. No, these. My wife bought me three of these shirts. They're slightly different color. Black, dark blue and slightly lighter blue.
Mike Ryan
Bad armwake.
Stu
Yeah. Bad army life. And so I'm wearing them continually now. I even wear them as pants. I wear shirts and then I wear the shirt as pants.
Unknown
Yeah.
Stu
And so I'm like wearing T shirts. That's why these sleeves are all stretched out because they don't fit over my legs nearly as well as I thought they might out of material.
Dan
Okay, good. I've noticed when that happens. Juju, what else do you have?
Juju
I agree with Stu, guys, man, Dallas Mavericks organization. Shame on you, man, for charging all that money to the these games and then you going to kick somebody out for voicing their fandom. Ah, man. Joker of the day goes to you guys.
Mike Ryan
Juju, do you agree with Mike that they would just take it back if you gave them the chance right now? The Mavericks?
Juju
Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. 100% agree with Mike. Speaking of that, those takebacks and everything, I don't think we discussed this. Let's also keep my brother Dalton Connect in our prayers because it has to be a mental gymnastics to go back to a place that, you know, people don't want you and don't necessarily think the world of you and you still to perform at a high clip, man. Prayers to dton Connect.
Billy
All right, I think praying is a bit too much, but I'm with you because like it's confusing, right? Dalton connect actually went to a shoot around for the Hornets and now he's back playing for the Lakers.
Juju
Crazy, right?
Chris
It's a crazy, crazy, crazy story to see connect on the bench. Clearly upset the Hornets statements have gone back and forth and made it seem like the Lakers aggressively Pursued Mark Williams, but the Lakers are claiming that's not the case. It is really uncomfortable for every player involved.
Greg
Well, maybe just trying to fit out.
Dan
He's not trying to connect who. I don't think, Juju, that you should be wasting God's time with those particular prayers. Is that offensive? Like I. I think.
Juju
I mean, I think. I think we. God, first of all, we are never doing that. But it's. I mean, it's not wrong of me to pray for someone. I don't think. I mean, I know that some of this stuff gets sense to God's voicemail, but hey, he'll get to it.
Billy
Can I. Can I wish him well?
Greg
Can I de God? Everything seems to be pretty chill right now, so just want to put a little something on your radar. Connect and his feelings about the situation. See if you can get around to it.
Billy
Appreciate it. God would spit that out.
Stu
He really would.
Dan
I actually. I actually did something. I did it at the airport the other day. A guy comes running in and he makes the elevator and he's with his bags and stuff and he's. And he's like, I made it. Thank God. And I'm like just wasting his time to thank him for that.
Unknown
Can I make a suggestion for everyone who's wasting God's time with prayers? If you have prayers that you feel like God's not listening to, call our boost mobile line and then we can get some of those prayers there also, you know?
Dan
Yeah, I like that idea.
Billy
Something, something, something.
Mike Ryan
Got 305, 486 got.
Dan
I like that idea, Billy. To just make it bold. Takes and prayers. And prayers. Yeah.
Greg
That you feel like are going to be unanswered.
Billy
I want someone.
Greg
Pray for Terry Rosier off this Ross.
Dan
Juju. You were saying? I'm sorry we interrupted you before Greg ran out of material.
Juju
Oh, no, I just. He's just a rookie, so I just give him a little grace than that, you feel me? You never know how these rooks come into the league. And he's had a. A pretty rough onboarding, but neither here nor there. You. You guys are right. I think God is more so concerned.
Billy
With the tragedies going around, but it's not.
Dan
It is nice.
Chris
Your prayer, Gigi.
Billy
Do whatever you want.
Dan
It is nice that you are wishing compassion for everyone who feels bad on things. That's a nice thing. It is kindness we should all be extending. I'm sorry for mocking the idea of it because I just don't think. You know what? I've got to take it back.
Juju
Yeah.
Dan
The Charlotte Hornets do need all of your prayers. All of the world's prayers.
Juju
Yes.
Stu
The point is, God's to do list is pretty long. And the idea that you think that making your flight, you thank God for that. God doesn't give a shit whether or not you make your flight.
Dan
It wasn't even the flight though. He just made an elevator.
Mike Ryan
Just the visual of God not giving a shit is funny.
Unknown
You don't think sometimes God's like, you know what? Not asking me, just saying. Thank you. You're welcome. This is great. How thoughtful of you.
Juju
First poll. Do the New York jets have any experiments that are not failed experiments? 95 of the audience says no. Salute to Aaron Rodgers. Is Howie Mandel now America's biggest prankster? 64 of the audience says no, he is not.
Stu
Wow.
Juju
Like a word BD says on Twitter. Do you believe that there is such a thing as a 50 pound rodent? 68 of the audience says yes, they do.
Dan
Yes.
Juju
They were listening live.
Billy
Well, Dan sees him at four in the morning.
Dan
So yeah. New York on the street. I've seen it. It's just shadowy figure and like that. Is that. Is that that? For me to think it's a horror closer to a horse than a rat when it's in the distance. Speaks to both my eyesight and New York streets at 4 in the morning.
Stu
And the hallucinogens you were on. Yeah.
Juju
Are you in such bad shape? That is. It is a sense of accomplishment when you sit down or get up from something.
Billy
Yes, that's the one.
Juju
58 of you says yes, it is.
Stu
Thank you.
Juju
Yeah.
Stu
Vindicated. Yeah.
Juju
Do you pee in the ocean? 88 of the audience says yes, they do pee in the ocean.
Stu
Yeah.
Juju
Salute to Aquaman.
Stu
Yeah. You got.
Dan
But pool is. And I understand the difference that people are making, but I would think that chlorine would be something that would be a greater disinfectant to urine than salt water.
Stu
Thank you. That's why I wash my hair in the pool.
Mike Ryan
It's a selfish thing though. It's. It's really just about like at a.
Stu
Near a pool.
Mike Ryan
There's a bathroom nearby. There's no bathroom near the beach. I'm not walking all the way to the bathroom.
Stu
That's fair.
Juju
Is a big one. If you're an animal and they yell your name out loud, are you in fact dangerous? 80% of the audience says yes, you are, Mike.
Greg
It was the best counter to a Ron McGill point I've ever had. No one's yelling dog, car again.
Dan
You're bringing back the car.
Billy
It is something you would yell if you saw a car in the ocean.
Stu
Yeah, because somebody would be in it drowning.
Juju
Right. And the last poll, the biggest poll of the day was the movie Billy Madison. A classic. 76 of the audience says, yes, it is a classic.
Chris
Thank God.

He expresses reservations about the USA team's performance without Quinn Hughes, stating, “[01:44] I think they'll get out to a slow start. I really like this Finland team because I got a lot of Florida Panthers and I don't think that there is a natural replacement on this roster yet for Quinn Hughes.” Greg opts for Finland with an additional one and a half points against the USA ([01:44] Greg).
The “Brought to You By” Misunderstanding
A humorous segment ensues when Stu shares a childhood misunderstanding about the phrase “brought to you by,” humorously recalling, “[02:07] Stu: Yeah, back when I was like, you know, 6, 7, 8 years old, learning words, learning sentences. Because it’s always sounded like it brought to you by. Right? Am I wrong?” ([02:07] Stu). Prayers for Dalton Connect
A significant portion of the conversation focuses on Dalton Connect, who recently transitioned from the Hornets to the Lakers amidst controversy. Juju emphasizes the emotional and mental challenges Dalton faces, urging prayers: “[04:35] Juju: Let's also keep my brother Dalton Connect in our prayers because it has to be a mental gymnastics to go back to a place that, you know, people don't want you and don't necessarily think the world of you and you still to perform at a high clip, man.” Billy echoes the sentiment, though Dan initially mocks the idea before reconsidering: “[07:14] Dan: It is nice... It is kindness we should all be extending.”
Balancing Humor and Compassion
The hosts engage in a spirited debate about the efficacy and appropriateness of offering prayers for players like Dalton Connect. Dan reflects on his earlier skepticism, admitting, “[07:14] Dan: It is nice that you are wishing compassion for everyone who feels bad on things.” Juju maintains his stance on the power of prayer, despite Dan’s initial mockery, fostering a moment of genuine reflection and camaraderie among the hosts.

As the episode draws to a close, the hosts reflect on the discussions and shared moments, reinforcing themes of kindness, support for athletes, and maintaining a sense of humor amidst the chaos of the sports world.
