Greg Cody
Greg Tapping to start the post.
Dan Le Batard
Greg, are you tapping? What are you typing so eagerly right now?
Greg Cody
What is in your throat?
Juju Gotti
Yeah, it's a fine Venmo, if I'm being truthful. I was trying to, you know, get off my plate. A loose end. A quick.
Greg Cody
Again with a loose end.
Juju Gotti
A quick text. Miami Herald related. But I apologize. I didn't know that my soft typing was audible.
Dan Le Batard
I didn't know that lunch was still in my throat. My forgiveness, please. I solicit your forgiveness for being disgusting. It's a piece of chicken with a little pita. We didn't have very much time here. A lot of people are sick. It's a lot of excuse making sugats. His mom died. God bless. Football is on Radio Row and part of the celebration will be bringing in Pablo Torre, David Sampson, every reinforcement that Meadowlark has so that over the next three days you get maximum super bowl coverage. Juju, I made a terrible mistake earlier in the show and I promised something here that puts you in a terribly awkward position. So before I put Jeremy's work in front of you and ask you for an honest appraisal of that work, I want to acknowledge what the awkward position is and I will offer on the front end. Do you want to partake in this as an assessment or do you just want me to play the music again without comment from you? Or would you just prefer I not play Jeremy's rap song again?
Pablo Torre
I want you to do whatever makes the world happy. Whatever makes you the boss, brother. So if you want to play it, let's play it. My opinion does not matter one bit.
Dan Le Batard
I disagree with that. I brought you on in order to get an honest assessment of this.
Greg Cody
Really like to know your opinion.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, but I don't know. To know. Well, but I don't know if we want his honest opinion. It puts Juju in a bad spot. As someone who doesn't want to be a hater at any time. I'm just saying. I'm not even saying I. As soon as I heard the song, I'm like, I wonder what juju thinks of this. And then I thought, I don't think it's going to be positive. And now I'm going to put him in the spot where he has to speak ill of somebody's work who puts vulnerably.
Greg Cody
You wouldn't put someone in that spot.
Jeremy
This feels like. Hey, Juju. Hi, it's Pablo. It's me.
Pablo Torre
What's up, Pablo? How are you doing? I love your podcast, man. You kicking ass, Juju.
Jeremy
Thank you, thank you. I mean that sincerely. I feel like I picked the worst time to pop into studio. It smells of pita. Jeremy's palpably uncomfortable, and I cannot help but contract not just the disease that Dan was alluding to that's been floating around here, but also just the awkwardness from. From Jeremy.
Greg Cody
I think we're single handedly keeping the Greek food industry alive in South Florida. We order Greek like four days a week.
Dan Le Batard
Is that bad? Is that a complaint? David Sampson is looking for ways to cut budget and he thinks we should change up the food. He thinks it's too expensive.
Greg Cody
I Greek the first, like five times I have it in a month and then like, by the sixth time, I'm kind of like, I'm not. I kind of don't want Greek anymore this month.
Dan Le Batard
Okay. An important complaint to be making here during super bowl week. Juju. Greg, give me an opinion. Tell me what I should do here because I've already put juju in the. In the tough spot. And it's hard to have a day where juju in every awkwardness that there is here is second on the awkwardness scale behind only Gabe today in terms of things that I've done that are awkward.
Juju Gotti
Okay. When we were playing golf Sunday, Christopher was shocked and flabbergasted that Kendrick Lamar and that song in particular happened to be on one of my Spotify playlists. I like the song. I thought it was a very clever parody by Jeremy, but I am. I respect Juju's opinion. I value it. And if he thinks it was offensive or in any way, this is a.
Dan Le Batard
Bad spot for Juju, you know what.
Pablo Torre
I'm going to say also. Also, happy Black History Month, by the way. I don't know he'll say that. Juju.
Greg Cody
I'm just gonna ask.
Dan Le Batard
Juju. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't ask. Here's what I I will speak on behalf of Juju and then we will move on. Juju thinks that's an excellent rap song for the contingent audience of Greg Cody. It was well received by Greg Cody. That's nice for everybody involved. Play the song again. I see fat people.
David Sampson
Painka on that got him traded by Nico Polinka calling up and tell him see you, bro. Go to Dallas, be the hero. Super suit like Frozone. What's up with all these motherfucking Lakers trying to seem competent. The whole damn legal hate them come all in their drama. How many teammates out LeBron. I mean it's too many options. Feels like every hall of Famer but John Stockton. But what about Luka Doncic and Wayne watching sometimes he's going to pop off and score 60 certified.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, that's enough. What are your thoughts, Juju about the halftime, the super bowl halftime show in general? Is there anything that people pivoting off.
Jeremy
Of that real quick?
David Sampson
And I had gotten generally positive feedback before this.
Jeremy
Happy, happy Greg Cody history month. By the way.
Dan Le Batard
I like, I like it for Greg Cody.
Juju Gotti
Yeah.
Greg Cody
That's my audience.
Dan Le Batard
He haw three like what you're pleasing the leader of your music musical heroism. The singing sportswriter. You have reached across the aisle. And the the man who invented song on this show.
Juju Gotti
Yeah.
Dan Le Batard
Grants you approval for your song.
Juju Gotti
Did a song about sad, sad radio rogue.
Dan Le Batard
Everyone afraid to play. I I do want to talk for a moment though. Are we expecting anything from the halftime show that is a cultural moment? Like as whatever nerves Kendrick Lamar has about playing the Super Bowl. Like this is going to be a pretty special misery on Sunday for Drake. No, like just to just watch this. To have to watch this.
Pablo Torre
Yeah. The misery has already happened, bro. Like, I don't know if you saw the, the Grammys last week. He won five awards. Five Grammys. And he won them not necessarily just for him. Great artist. He won them for not like us being a song of the year. He won him for all the stuff that we thought like, dang, would they really play that part? No, they played that part and put the camera on Taylor Swift and she said out loud, you dig me. You feel like so and Beyonce, they put like the whole crowd in unison went crazy. So I feel like these last, these, these two weeks right here are just two weeks for Drake to just stay offline. Stay in Australia, you mean. Call your mommy. Remember who you love. You feel me?
Dan Le Batard
Let's talk about this part of it for a second. When you talk about epic rap beef disasters ending up with A loser having to watch the other on the super bowl after winning the Grammys, which is the part in here that hurts the ego most on Drake. Because when the headline of Drake suing the record company because not like us sold too much is not your top embarrassment moment, you have done some major public losing. So where does the Super Bowl. Performing this song at the super bowl, does it rank in terms of indignities for Drake on. On. On this timeline?
Pablo Torre
I feel like at the end of the day, I've reached the threshold with Drake. You feel me? Like, I don't even like saying his name out loud no more because he. It's. It's like he benefited from that same system for so long, and then when somebody else got the benefit of that same exact thing that he's accusing him of. I'm not saying that he. He's not right. His. His case that UMG didn't do what he said they did, but they've done it for Drake countless times. And now when you hurt, you turn into a Karen, and now you want to report and sue everybody how UMG has stood on business. They say, look, man, nah, bro, we not doing none of that. And so I'm a fan of what Kendrick Lamar has done. Like, and he warned you the whole time. He. So, hey, bro, don't tell no lies about me. Don't. We're not gonna. I'm not gonna rap y'all. Now, I know y'all don't understand too much of that, but I'm saying Drake was the one who baited Kendrick into this countless songs after song. And then when you. It's like whenever Chris Cody hit the ball, I'm. I'm a fan of sometimes, you know what? You can't re. You can't hur me and then tell me how I supposed to react. You feel me? But at the same time, the second man is always flat in football, so you got to temper your reactions.
Jeremy
I'm just processing still. That Drake was in Australia trying to get as far away as possible from the United States to do anything resembling music.
Greg Cody
That's what I'm about to do.
Jeremy
And still. And still he was caught. The idea that Drake doesn't.
Venmo Advertiser
He.
Jeremy
He literally has nowhere he can hide is kind of a special thing. I don't know if we've had. I don't know if any beef has resulted in a global surveillance state that will not allow the loser to at least go away. Like, you know.
Pablo Torre
Right. I mean, but he did that to. He did the same thing to Meek Mill. He did the same thing with people he beefing before he went back to back on Meek Mill. And that was a call.
Jeremy
I am. I am not here to say that Drake deserves our sympathies. I am just here to point out that it's pretty extreme and it's therefore very funny. But it is extreme. Like, I don't know if you're. Look, Drake doesn't have any friends right now. I don't know what he would be advised. I don't know where you go if you're trying to, you know, prove that you're not bothered by this, but a random bar in Australia, Gotta go further. Drake, you gotta go. I don't know, you gotta go to one of those islands with like 50 people on it.
Pablo Torre
Once you AI Tupac's voice and you put Snoop's voice on your own. Like, Drake went a lot. He did a lot. You feel me? You can't write up and punch a bully in his nose and get mad when you get slammed on your head. But salute to everybody involved.
Dan Le Batard
That's right. Salute to everyone, including Jeremy. Jeremy Song. We're going to be positive about Jeremy Song before we get to updating the polls real quick here because Greg Cody is legitimately mad about this. Forgive me for doing this, Juju. Greg Cody did write a column that the Dolphins should trade for Myles Garrett, and he's mad at me for not allowing him to talk about it seriously. So as you gather yourself here, Juju, and give us some poll updates, you have the platform now, Greg Cody, to give us your serious Miles Garrett opinion.
Juju Gotti
Well, it's online if anybody wants to read it in its entirety. But I think what I wrote reflects how desperate the Dolphins should be right now because they made the playoffs the two previous seasons to this past season when they were 8 and 9. This team is nowhere close to being a contender in a packed AFC behind Kansas City, behind Baltimore, behind Buffalo, and another handful of teams as good or better.
Dan Le Batard
Their defense was the best in 22 years, empirically. You're saying everybody wants to add Miles Garrett.
Juju Gotti
Their defense was the best in. In 22 years, empirically, by some standards. It was not a big play defense. They had 35 sacks, which was in the bottom five of the league. They didn't have many interceptions. They were not a big play defense. They don't have any player, even with Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb healthy. They don't have a player who's going to change the way opposing offensive coordinators prepare to play Miami. They don't have Anyone who's the best at his position. Tyreek Hill maybe was for his first season. He isn't now. The Dolphins have to be desperate. They have to be bold and desperate because right now they are not close to being competitive on a Super bowl level. And if they don't make big swings like Myles Garrett, they're not going to do it. With luck and good health and 13th.
Dan Le Batard
Overall picks tomorrow, Miami Herald column. The Dolphins need to get Cooper Cup.
Juju Gotti
No, no. I think. I think quite the opposite.
Greg Cody
I think you've gone too far.
Juju Gotti
I think I. Very quickly. I think you oversold Cooper Cup.
Jeremy
Not that bold. He is not that desperate.
Juju Gotti
He is. Cooper cup is not a Hall of Famer, okay? He isn't yet. At any rate, he's. He had one extraordinary season. He's completely overshadowed by Puka Nakua.
Dan Le Batard
What do you mean I oversold him? He won a championship. Having one of the most historic wide receiver seasons in terms of productivity ever. That's a fact.
Juju Gotti
As I said, he had one extraordinary season in seven or eight year career.
Dan Le Batard
All right?
Juju Gotti
That was the only season he made the Pro Bowl. He's a very good receiver. Who is not a Hall of Fame receiver.
Dan Le Batard
Juju, forgiveness here. The polls, okay? We cannot get to the polls. Let's close the post game right there.
