Dan Le Batard
Why are you listening to this show?
Chris Cody
The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Le Batard podcast? I'm sorry. I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging.
Dan Le Batard
I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys.
Chris Cody
I've done it.
Dan Le Batard
And now here's the Marching man to.
Chris Cody
Nowhere Fat Face and the Habitual Liar. Hello, Diana.
Diana Rossini
Hello Chris.
Chris Cody
How are we? Oh, she said Chris.
Diana Rossini
I am good. I miss you guys.
Chris Cody
We miss you. It's Friday. Are Fridays. Do you do Fridays feel like Friday to you?
Diana Rossini
No, they don't. Because I write on Fridays. It is my hell. All right, but all right, but it is all good.
Dan Le Batard
I want to pack a lot into the time that we have left. So we will try to find the Wheel of Fortune contestant. We will attempt to continue to find the 14 year old girl who was interviewing Mike Tyson and get Diana's thoughts as well on that because Diana Rossini joins us now because there was last night the rare game between teams we're pretty sure are probably maybe good. There aren't a lot of those in football this week and there is one Steelers Ravens. But last night you, your husband is a famous Eagles fan by virtue of this show, you wake up to a happier husband. What was the experience with him last night as Saquon Barkley, one of the few running backs in the league can that can actually wear you down in the fourth quarter?
Diana Rossini
Yeah, I woke up with a pot of coffee already brewing fresh pancakes, butter and syrup at 5:30 this morning. Already at the kitchen table he's got his Eagles sweatshirt on, looks handsome. He shaved the colognes on. He's ready to attack his day. So yeah, so look, when it, when things are bad we feel it here. But when things are great, I'm all about it. So I'm actually really contradicting myself here complaining about it because right now thing it's, it's like Christmas here. So I'm psyched.
Dan Le Batard
Any takeaways from last night to you that are most relevant whether it's criticizing a fourth down decision or all of Daniels his past attempts being with within five yards of the line of scrimmage.
Diana Rossini
Yeah, my mind's more big picture, you know, as this coaching hiring and firing conversation starts brewing. I know it's a little early, but it's not this year, I can tell you. A lot of organizations are starting to do their research of what are we going to do after this year. And I can tell you that Eagles ownership and their front office obviously led by Howie Roseman, they, they believe that they've built a championship roster here. So every single time Nick Sirianni wins another I wonder what they're thinking about. I wonder if they're going okay, this is in line with what we want and he's our guy. Or are they going this, this has got to be super bowl or he's out. Because I know that there's been some frustrations there in Philadelphia about some of the antics and some of the decision making from Nick Sirianni. So every time they win though, it just, it's just another nice little check for him as he survives another week.
Dan Le Batard
While Diane is here, let's go ahead and just do Bucket of Death around her, turn on the lights and go to the bucket. As this is happen. She's going to participate in this as well. Yes, we're going to pick for her run Diana. But I want to ask her questions as you do this, so just rummage around for a second. Jeremy, just hold on. Calm down. Settle down. Settle down. Jeremy.
Chris Cody
He's in a cardigan.
Amin Elhassan
Dan.
Dan Le Batard
Jeremy, let me get you to settle down.
Mike Ryan
Pull over.
Dan Le Batard
You don't need to rummage extra. Just wait until I've asked Diana this question, okay? Settled. Everything settled? Okay.
Chris Cody
Super settled.
Dan Le Batard
The Philadelphia Eagles making that trade for Saquon Barkley is the best trade since blank. Like these kinds of acquisitions inside of the division where you see. Oh, my God. Schefter's reporting that Daniel Jones may not play. Another down for the Giants. And Saquon Barkley leaving there has now Philadelphia at not just the top of the division, but clearly upgrading at a position in a way that's super unusual in that league.
Diana Rossini
I'm trying to remember the last time there was a trade in the division. That's the problem. That's why that was so weird. What was the last time we saw this?
Dan Le Batard
I'm sorry. I called it a trade, and you're right. It's an acquisition. It was not.
Diana Rossini
It was an acquisition. Correct. It was more. It was an acquisition. An acquisition.
Chris Cody
You nailed it.
Amin Elhassan
Accusation.
Diana Rossini
Yeah. Any word longer than six letters just snags me on this show. Along with a Hail Mary.
Dan Le Batard
Derek. Derek Harvey is like that, right? It's not. Derek Harvey is a. Jason. I'm just. Because it was in the division. Sorry. Thank you. Because it was in the division. I was. I was just surprised to see something work out this well inside of a division.
Diana Rossini
I just want to know if Saquon Barkley went anywhere else. Is he having this kind of success? This is not me doubting his ability. I just think that this team and the way they're built with this offensive line is giving us the best Saquon we could see. So when you talk about a perfect marriage, you're talking about a perfect Philadelphia roster for Saquon and a ground game that they're obviously leaning on. Look what they did. He's winning games for them. And Joe Shane continues to sit in his front office going, what was I thinking?
Chris Cody
I have the New York Giants. They are on a buy.
Dan Le Batard
I'm keeping that home.
Amin Elhassan
Oh, he would have worked pretty well in Baltimore, too.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, Detroit. Detroit probably would have worked pretty well as well.
Diana Rossini
Yeah, well, Houston was interested in him, but they wound up going with Joe Mixon. That's actually worked out really well for them. He also had issues from the Chicago Bears, so there's. He had plenty of teams that I think it could have worked. I think it actually could have worked in Chicago. They could certainly use them. But with that offensive line, he might as well stay in New York.
Amin Elhassan
Rummaging.
Dan Le Batard
Here we go.
Amin Elhassan
We've got the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and.
Chris Cody
They were also on a buy and I'll be keeping it. Thankful what's going on around here.
Dan Le Batard
People aren't going to like when people. I like the buzz here.
Diana Rossini
We missed the Giants by. So we've got the Daniel Jones situation. We're watching right. They got to make a call here.
Dan Le Batard
Tell me what's going going to happen there.
Diana Rossini
Okay. So they've got this injury guarantee for next year and they got to make a decision right now. Are we done with him and we want to save this money or do we go to Drew Lock? And at this point, from what I've been hearing in the conversations I've. I've had, Daniel Jones may be staying as the starting quarterback here for a few more weeks. I'm not sure if this is completely done. We're going to know more this weekend though when they come back from there by and they meet with their quarterbacks.
Dan Le Batard
So what happened with the reporting on that one? Why is it not sure yet or Shefter got it right. Right. That we may have seen the last time that Daniel Jones plays for the Giants.
Diana Rossini
Sometimes we do this where we just go based on what we know historically when teams are in this situation. Not so much what he knows specifically. I read Chepter as that was him going. This would make a lot of sense if the New York Giants want to save money. That doesn't necessarily mean that that's what the New York Giants are going to do because you have other factors here.
Will Jordan
Right.
Diana Rossini
You've got Joe Sheen and Brian Dabel. Despite the fact that they got the vote of confidence from their owner John Mara and you know, it may appear that they're safe, but we know how this goes. Even if the owner says that if they go out there and lose in a really bad way and it's ugly football, it's going to be really hard to bring those guys back there. So I think in the mind of a Brian Dabel and a Joe Shane, we don't really know what Drew Lock's about. I think. I think Daniel Jones may still give them the best chance to win.
Dan Le Batard
Roy, what did you select from the helmet there?
Amin Elhassan
I had the Houston Texans. They are a seven and a half point road favorite at Dallas.
Chris Cody
It's all good things right now because then I picked and I got the packers minus Five.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, so the packers are at the Bears. The Bears. Your thoughts there are what in terms of league wide disappointments?
Diana Rossini
Matt? Well, we'll start with just the fact that Matt LaFleur is 10 and O against this thing, that he's never lost to the Chicago Bears ever. So I don't think that that trend is going to change unless Jordan Love just really lays a big egg, which I don't see happening. But in terms of the Chicago Bears, to me it just appears like this is a defensive coordinator as a head coach right now and has lost sort of focus on what this should be. You're watching all these other quarterbacks right now around the league in this rookie class progress, get better, scramble, use their legs. And Caleb just looks like he's in a structure and in an offense. He's not comfortable, not mentally, not physically. On top of the fact that he has no protection, they made the change at offensive coordinator. Thomas Brown is now going to take over as the play caller. I don't think this gives them a bump. I don't think there's a coordinator bump in Chicago because of the change here. So this is going to be a situation where I think the Chicago Bears are going to clean house at the end of the year and try to bring in somebody that can get the best out of Caleb Williams because this certainly isn't good enough.
Mike Ryan
Dan, I pulled the Browns. They're playing against my beloved Saint Arunis. I got to throw it back in.
Dan Le Batard
Okay.
Amin Elhassan
Jameis revenge game though.
Dan Le Batard
The Browns are a one point favorite at New Orleans. Amin is selecting again. I'm going to select for Diana as soon as he is done.
Diana Rossini
Oh, thank you. I actually wanted to talk a little bit of Brown Saints, but we'll move on. All right, Saints. All right. Saints, Dolphins. Okay.
Dan Le Batard
The Dolphins are a seven point favorite against the Raiders. The Gardner Minshew led Raiders.
Diana Rossini
All right. Well, the Raiders change offensive coordinators, right? They just. They're coming off their by. Scott Turner brought in his dad Nor Turner. So they're going to try to run the ball more, right? That's kind of their identity. What we saw in Washington when Scott Turner was the OC. Look, the Raiders are a mess. This 14 that appeared to support Antonio Pierce, their head coach and they were going to fight to the death for him. It lost its steam this year because they don't have a good quarterback. Tom Telesco is the GM there calling all the shots. We'll see what he does at the end of the year, but I think it's going to be a tough case for Antonio Pierce to continue to be the head coach here just because there just hasn't been any success yet.
Dan Le Batard
I have selected from the bucket. I've got Big Apple and I'm not allowing Diana to have that because it's a winner. I'm going to keep that because the Giants are. Can you also be the Giants? I'm now selected.
Mike Ryan
Now can two people have the same team? Because Jeremy pulled the Giants as well.
Dan Le Batard
I'm going ahead and ruling that that can indeed be so. I've got Big Apple. I'm a winner.
Chris Cody
We'll call Sarah Spain.
Dan Le Batard
You have the Rams. Diana, the Rams. Do you want the Rams 4 1/2.
Chris Cody
Point favorite at the Patriots? See how it works? Diana is you can put that helmet back but the next one is your one to keep.
Diana Rossini
Okay. I would like to put that one back.
Chris Cody
Really?
Dan Le Batard
Really. As a four and a half point favorite. You don't like the Rams at the Patriots.
Chris Cody
You don't have to cover. It's just.
Dan Le Batard
Okay. She doesn't want it.
Diana Rossini
Oh, I didn't realize already.
Chris Cody
Put it back.
Diana Rossini
That's okay. Put it back.
Will Jordan
Too late.
Dan Le Batard
Ok. Army, Navy or Air Force? Thank you for your service helmet. Which of those teams would you like? Would you like to look how delighted she is. She's just look, she is titillated by our new little game ourselves. Like she. It's so new to her. She doesn't hate it the way that we do.
Chris Cody
Army plays Notre Dame in Yankee Stadium.
Amin Elhassan
And then Blake Horvath and them boys.
Chris Cody
At Navy play Tulane for a massive.
Dan Le Batard
Game in the aac.
Amin Elhassan
Could be potential conference championships setting up.
Chris Cody
Between army and Navy. If Navy beats Tulane this weekend, an Air Force hosting Oregon State.
Amin Elhassan
They suck though.
Dan Le Batard
What would you like there?
Diana Rossini
I would like Nate. Well, I obviously want that matchup to pan out, but I'm going to go with Navy. That is that okay if I make that choice?
Dan Le Batard
It is your team, your choice.
Chris Cody
We thank all of them for their service.
Diana Rossini
So you guys obviously know before I joined the Athletic I was at ESPN all the time and or on the air reporting and one of the hardest things to do on TV is to talk on camera with technology issues. And it happens sometimes live on the air for those who have never done it before where you get this like annoying sound in your earpiece while you're talking on TV. And it is without a doubt the hardest thing to do on TV in my, in my opinion. And I would say the noise that you guys are playing behind me is a close second to how Annoying and distracting, that is. So I just wanted to say thank you. I apologize for missing the appearance on Tuesday. I had some major, major, major phone issues. So I'm glad that I came back here on Friday. I was going to let the week go, but it's good to be here, guys.
Mike Ryan
Diana, I agree with you. Hear the annoying sound I hear in my ear. Usually a producer.
Dan Le Batard
That's right. I was going to say whatever you were nominating there second to Louis in your ear the entire show. Can you get for me just a series of annoying sounds to try and distract her to make the degree of difficulty on this just a little bit harder.
Chris Cody
Maybe it's just our workplace, but I didn't even hear it.
Dan Le Batard
I know. It's just back. This is all I hear everywhere I go. Like, this is the soundtrack to my life wherever it is that I'm looking down Whole Foods.
Diana Rossini
Like, I'm also so over. Like, I'm overstimulated right already with crop. Like the sound of toddlers crying and whining is. Is close to this as well, where you are just willing to do anything to just get it to stop. But let, let's. Let's keep this going. I'm so. I'm mentally falling apart right now.
Dan Le Batard
Yes, that's fine. Keep testing her with different kinds of sounds here. What happened to your phone, though, this week? What. What's major phone issues for you?
Diana Rossini
So you guys know that the boys put my cell phone in the microwave and I was going to go get a new one finally, because the guts of this thing was hanging out and I was able to make it to the phone store, and it turns out that it just said the temperature was hot the whole time. It would not change. Just hot temperature. I don't know what that even means. So they said, all right, here's a new phone. What is your icloud password? I don't know. I have no idea.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, no. Oh, no.
Diana Rossini
I tried everything. I tried every expert boyfriend. I tried every team. I tried everything. And it turns out for anyone who doesn't know this, if you lose your iPhone or icloud password, it takes 7 days for Apple to reset it for you. So obviously, as an insider that needs their phone, that's not acceptable. So we were able to figure out a way, and it's pretty wild. The person at the Apple Store, their genius is there. Set my phone to what people that have vision issues, and they were able to figure out a way to get all my contact information. And I'm back up and running.
Dan Le Batard
Turn that up so Diana can hear. What does the God say?
Amin Elhassan
Value.
Chris Cody
Hard Boyer. What does the God say? Side ride.
Amin Elhassan
Visit. Rationalization.
Chris Cody
Brain communication. How long ago? What the guy say? Sophistication.
Dan Le Batard
Sophistication.
Chris Cody
Southbrain. Stating recollection. You monks. Fred our friend. Family. What?
Dan Le Batard
Stugottsbook.com it's selling. It's good. I've read pieces of it and it's funny and believe it or not, it's smart. You've written pieces of it that too perfectly on brand for Stugott.
Diana Rossini
Me too.
Dan Le Batard
Diana, were you allowed? Were you asked or told you were writing? Did you have to write for the Stugotts book?
Diana Rossini
Yeah, it's funny. I was going through something in my personal life and he knew of it and he never reached out about it. I know he knew of it because he later shared with me, hey, I heard. You know, I'm really sorry about that but the only text I got during that time was something about, hey, I really need you to write something about how much you love this book and your experience with it. And I never responded. I just that that. That's typical. John.
Dan Le Batard
She's the senior NFL insider for the athletic. The podcast is scoop city. It is nice seeing you. We will try to distract you in more ways next week.
Diana Rossini
I am so annoyed and irritated right now.
Dan Le Batard
He was going to play the Tyson press guy. I had to wave him off. He was going to play the Tyson press conference with Lennox Lewis. It would have been bad judgment, but.
Diana Rossini
Mary and Mary go ahead. The Hamel race.

Dan Le Batard
Chris Cody. I am delighted to learn when I come in today there are little moments of metal arc pride. Little tiny moments of metal arc pride where I Can sway, you know, moved palpably moved by the career ascent of someone. Chris Cody has a speaking engagement today.
Mike Ryan
Get the out of here.
Chris Cody
I do have a speaking engagement. And if you want tickets to it, if you want tickets to it, you can go to game time. You download the game time app, create an account use code DAN for $20 off your first purchase terms applied. Download the game time app today. What time is it? It's game time now. I'm kidding. My speaking engagement is not on game time. But a lot of good sporting events are. But yes, Dan, I have a speaking engagement today. It's a biggie. It's why I'm wearing long pants. Tony noticed it right away.
Dan Le Batard
I haven't seen you, and I can't remember the last. I did not know for sure that you owned long pants since Austin.
Chris Cody
I have joggers, but you're right. Like, jeans? Never.
Mike Ryan
Where's the speaking engagement? School for the deaf?
Chris Cody
It is. It's my daughter's class.
Dan Le Batard
Yes. Yes. I mean, it's the school for the deaf.
Mike Ryan
That's a joke.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Mike Ryan
So they can't hear them.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah.
Chris Cody
Now, this is the funny part. It's not career day because I feel like that one I could kind of own. I got a cool job. I could get fun. You guys like podcasts?
Mike Ryan
Like, what, Career day? You just show up in the autozone? Yes.
Chris Cody
In the battery costume. But no, I'm reading to my daughter's class today. They did. They sent out an email a few weeks ago. They're like, do you want to come in, read a kid's book to the class? I just responded to an email. Sure, I'll do that. A week later, she's like, all right, so you want to come in this Friday at 12:30? I was just like, whoa. A lot of pressure. Last night I was practicing. I pulled out a kid's book. I was, like, standing in my living room reading it for my daughter and my wife. I'm a little nervous. I asked if she could send me the book up front so I can get a little walk through with this thing. But now I'll just read it for the first time when I get there, But I'll ask her to videotape it maybe. I'm sure I'll screw it up, but I'm nervous. I actually am nervous to read in front of a bunch of kindergarteners. The fact that Chris came in with.
Amin Elhassan
Pants was the dead giveaway that he.
Chris Cody
Was doing something school related because he's.
Amin Elhassan
Mentioned to me many times where he's.
Chris Cody
Like he sometimes feels ashamed to go.
Dan Le Batard
Pick up his daughter because of the.
Chris Cody
Fact that he wears shorts to work, right?
Amin Elhassan
So that he goes to the school.
Chris Cody
And it's like, look at his dad, he's wearing shorts.
Mike Ryan
All the other parents are dressed up.
Chris Cody
In like in a suit or whatever, like business casual. And Chris walks in with like shorts on, like, hey, I'm ready to pick up my daughter. I've said this about riding brightline too. Writing brightline and going to my daughter's school. I feel insecure sometimes.
Will Jordan
What?
Chris Cody
The way I'm dressed of people being like, what a loser this dad is. He's at picking her up at 3:30 in the afternoon dressed like that. This guy's got nothing going on when really I'm looking at them. Hey, I got a really cool job, all right? Don't you judge me, cuz I'm wearing a hat. This guy walking in with his suit, picking up his kid. You're not better than me.
Amin Elhassan
I did the same thing, Chris. I had to speak at my daughter's school, except I didn't speak in her class, which was interesting.
Chris Cody
The whole school?
Amin Elhassan
Yeah, the whole. The whole. Well, from class to class to class, I had to speak. And basically I just showed him the tour. Yeah, the car wash. Yeah, the car wash, exactly. And basically I just showed him a video of the hockey show for five minutes.
Dan Le Batard
Wait, what?
Amin Elhassan
Yeah, I had to show them what I did for a living. No, no, they had a projector.
Chris Cody
Oh, okay. I thought you were just holding the.
Dan Le Batard
Presentation of the hockey show. You presented the hockey show to an auditorium full of kids?
Amin Elhassan
No, it went from class to class to class and it varied in actual grades. You know, second, third, whatever.
Dan Le Batard
Put it on the poll, please. Juju at Lebatar show. Is the guy in the suit next door judging? Chris, Is this guy? Is the guy. I'm sorry, is the guy in the suit at school.
Chris Cody
Bank teller over here.
Mike Ryan
Wow.
Dan Le Batard
Wait a minute.
Will Jordan
Take him out. The bank teller.
Dan Le Batard
You don't know how you knew from the look of how expensive the suit was or wasn't. And you put it in a low paying job. You put it in low.
Chris Cody
All right, sorry. You work for Aetna.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, Aetna. You gotta pronounce that right.
Chris Cody
I'm offending our insurance provider.
Dan Le Batard
You know what?
Chris Cody
Safe guys, I'm good.
Amin Elhassan
You like get insurance.
Dan Le Batard
Let me explain to everyone how bad your judgment was. They're not just sideswiping our health benefits provider. That's not the worst of it. You saying that guy shouldn't judge you as better than you while mispronouncing the name of our health provider.
Chris Cody
Starts with an A. You said it with an E. A tna. He says it's Aetna.
Amin Elhassan
It's Aetna.
Chris Cody
Yeah. It starts with an A. Should be Aetna.
Dan Le Batard
It's like a Greek letter or something. All right, is the guy in the suit at Chris Kidd's school judging him as less than at Levitard show? Because I think that guy is doing that. And also put on the poll. Is that guy definitely a bank teller?
Mike Ryan
I have it where he looks like. I know who you are, Chris Cody. Yeah, I'm still judging you.
Dan Le Batard
Making him the bank teller in a suit is offensive in a lot of different ways. But also you're giving off the whiff of. That's the only way you're getting close to money is in that job. Because the suit's not doing it for you. You just given it. You're giving the money away. That's as much as you're going to have.
Mike Ryan
Aetna just emailed me.
Dan Le Batard
I swear to God, we're in trouble. It's just terrible judgment from our executive producer on live television. But. But they have secured for us Will Jordan. And I just saw him on the screen and it made me happy because he's got a giant smile on his face. So I was hoping that he had a sense of humor about this. So let's play for Will Jordan and for everybody, the reason that he's here and get a definitive answer to our investigation of why it is and how it is that the sound got made in the middle of his heartbreak. Let's play that video and audio for the audience, please.
Will Jordan
I'd like to buy you. Well, you're gonna get three U's. I'd like to solve a puzzle. Okay, well, let's hear it. Treat yourself a round of sausage. No, I'm sorry, that's not it. Over to Katina. I would like to solve. Okay, give yourself a round of applause.
Amin Elhassan
Yeah, that's it.
Dan Le Batard
Will, I am delighted to see you. Thank you for sharing this difficult time with us. I'm sorry for your loss.
Will Jordan
No, it's a pleasure to be with you today. Thank you.
Dan Le Batard
So tell me, thank you for being on with us. Take us through here. You're retired Coast Guard veteran, police sergeant, school resource officer in Newington, Connecticut. Take us through what happened here.
Will Jordan
Well, that's right. I've been wearing a uniform to work for the last 29 years. Very proud to do so. Veteran of the U.S. coast Guard, six years. And I had a full career at the Newington Police Department in Connecticut. I did retire as a patrol sergeant, but before that I was a community service officer. And that's when I started working with the public and food banks and toy drives and all that. So anyway, went to Rocky Hill, the finest PD in the country, and I mean that. And I watched the show with my son and family at night. And my son's telling me, he's 11, he says, dad, you're good at the show, you got to go on. I said, buddy, a million people put in for it. It's just not going to be, you know, probable that I'm going to get on. They only take 600 out of a million. But I said, if you want to do it, you know, I'm always encouraging him to do things like this if he feels strong about it. And he's at that age where, you know, try to give him encouragement, whatever he does. He, he filled out the application all by himself. I didn't even proofread it, it just sent it off with a photo. And over a series of five months I had a bunch of zoom interviews. And the folks at Wheel of Fortune were really nice people. I tell you, they treated me very well. And I'm out in Ireland celebrating my in laws 50th wedding anniversary when I get the call you made it. So of course we have a big fun night out in Ireland with that great news. We came back two weeks later, we jumped on the plane to head to California. I of course brought my son. I told him if I ever did get on, you have to come with me since you started this whole thing. So we did, we went out, my son and my daughter, and we went out there and filmed the show. And of course it appears very quickly that I'm playing against very two intelligent women. They're really good. I see him warming up, I'm thinking, oh man, I came all the way out here, I might not make a dollar here. But it still would have been fun. So I had the mentality where I'm going for it, even if I don't quite know it. And I gotta be slightly aggressive here because these two fellow contestants were really pretty sharp. So that's kind of the story leading up to the infamous false incorrect guess.
Dan Le Batard
No, perfect. Great. And I want to get into the level of shame your son has watching his father, his father treat himself to a round of salt.
Will Jordan
You know what's funny? Him and my daughter tell me later that they actually said a prayer for me and we're not really an overly religious family, but they held hands and said a prayer for me afterwards and said, dad, we couldn't believe what just happened. I said, oh. I said my body stopped functioning. It was. You can't imagine the pressure. I'm telling you, the way that show, you know, just getting there is a miracle. Literally almost one in a million chances. Now I'm on it. I'm the first show I'm going there. And the feeling of getting it wrong at that moment, I'll never forget what that felt like. It was unbelievable.
Mike Ryan
The rare post game prayer.
Dan Le Batard
So they were praying for you afterward because they hurt so much for their father.
Will Jordan
They did, they. And first of all, they've been really great about it. We have the coolest tight knit family obviously and they're very supportive. If no one's taking this serious, you know, we're just kind of laughing. It's one of those moments like you fell down the stairs in front of the whole world. Little did I know it was going to go, you know, viral around the world. I saw a clip from Australia, the UK news, you know, all three late night shows. So, you know, people are trying to. The funny thing is I'm not even on Facebook or any social media. I am now sausage king legend at Instagram. Hell yeah, dude. But I gotta tell you, I didn't even want to get on because I spent my whole life avoiding social media. You know, I'm blessed with a wonderful family, been married 22 years, three great kids. I don't really need the social media. I'm not into it. But you know, I guess at this point people are trying to reach me so I had to get on.
Dan Le Batard
All right, well, this is what I'm telling you. Since you've already gotten into the game, let's get you fully into the game. I demand that everyone listening to this make sure that this man get a sausage endorsement. I want this man to be the face and voice to treat yourself a round of sausage. Like, let's get this man actually paid for his international shame.
Will Jordan
Well, you know what's funny about this is a lot of people reach out to me and they're either like a couple clips, couple news stories I've done on Channel 8 and here in Connecticut did a clip. I had a huge watch party and the news was there at 150 of my closest friends, neighbors, co workers, family. And we had a big, huge party. It was Wonderful. And Channel 8 was there to kind of film the whole thing, film the reaction of the crowd. And you Know what, the theme that's coming out of it that I'm at least happy with is that whether they could see from my personality or, you know, maybe the 20 some odd years of me working for the food bank and toy drives, that, you know, it's a, you know, this kind of kindness, right? And kind of take a funny moment. I think this whole country needs to laugh right now. And I swear to God, of all the people hurting out there, especially our veterans and other people that I'm trying to shine the spotlight on, if they can laugh, if people can just get a good chuckle, I'm still laughing. I've seen the clip of about a million dollars.
Dan Le Batard
Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sausage. We gotta put these two together. An American patriot right here. Now, unfortunately, you know, make sure that whatever your social media has been in the past, anytime someone gets celebrity, then people start digging around and rooting around in their stuff. So let's make sure as we get this guy great fame and money. Just get your things in order, sir.
Chris Cody
I just became his third follower on Instagram. He literally just launched this account. I'm so exc. Will, thank you.
Dan Le Batard
You're welcome. I want to follow this man wherever it is the sausage will take us. I want to, I want to make sure that he's able to parlay this into something because this is exactly the attitude you have to have about something like this.
Will Jordan
Thank you, fellas. Yeah, you can see everything I'm telling you. I just, I just started the account now because I, you know, everyone's telling me to get. I said, Guys, I'm 48 years old. I've never been on social media. I'm not going to start now just because it is two minutes in the smiley butt. Really. People having a hard time finding me. So, you know, if I can get a plug out there for Sausage King Legend on Instagram, let's throw it out there and see what happens.
Dan Le Batard
All right, let's throw it out there. Sausage King legend. What's the funniest thing to emerge from the last couple of days? And I'm assuming that at that watch party, you already know the result, right? So, you know, they're there to see you embarrassed.
Will Jordan
I'm leaning into it. That's the decision I made. Like you said, I had a couple months heads up notice that I came back from the show. Now, my wife had told me before I left, whatever you do, just don't do anything cringy. So I said, oh, no problem, hon. I would never do anything embarrassed So I didn't tell her. I didn't tell her for a month. And I finally sat down, I said, hon, I gotta tell you, my kids kept this secret. We all sat down and said, this potentially is going to be a kind of a big viral moment. I don't know if she quite believed me at the time, but certainly now she does. So, you know, the guys at work, you know, cops are like firemen right there. A lot of roasting, a lot of joking, and I love it. That's why I love being a police officer. That's why I stayed a police officer after retiring from one department. It's just I love, I love the community, I love being a cop. So I just like helping people. A lot of compassion. I have a lot of try to give a lot of respect to everyone I deal with. I mean, I'm in the school, which is kind of like the icing and the cake. I protect about a thousand elementary school age kids and they're rooting for me. And we do a fun thing at recess. I started me in the department, it's called Fun Football Friday. And I play football with up to 80 kids at recess almost every day if there's nothing going on and we're, we're having tons of fun. So I plugged the school. They wanted to initially talk to me about like different awards and I was officer year and a couple things they wanted to talk about. I said, nope, I didn't come on this show to talk myself. I said, I want to talk about Fun Football Friday. The playing the football with the recess kids at Moser Elementary School in Rocky Hill. And. And that's what I did. My intro was all about the Fun Football Friday.
Mike Ryan
That's awesome, man. Way to not let viral decontextualization ruin your life. That's how you do it. You lean into it. But there is a mystery that we need to solve. We've been talking about it all so long. In the video, after you say treat yourself to a round of sausage, we hear an audible groan. Grunt. Now half the room thinks that's Ryan Seacrest. Who made that noise? Half the room thinks it's you, Chris. Could we replay that sound one more time just so we could get to the bottom of it?
Will Jordan
Treat yourself a round of sausage.
Dan Le Batard
No, that. Oh, that.
Mike Ryan
Oh, was that you or was that Seacrest?
Will Jordan
I gotta tell you, I think that was my man, Ryan Seacrest.
Dan Le Batard
I know it.
Mike Ryan
I know it.
Chris Cody
No way.
Dan Le Batard
I think he's wrong. I think he's wrong.
Will Jordan
And let me just. Let me Just add that Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White, Maggie Sajak, they were so decent and phenomenal with me. That's one of the takeaways I'll take. They were not only just great people, but they were real supportive. Ryan and I were handshaking, hey, Will, it's a game show. Have fun with it. I said, well, it's easy for you to say. He goes, now, come on, this is what it's all about. And it's true, right? There's two things to do. You want to accomplish two things. Have fun. Try to win a couple dollars for your family. I did both. Didn't realize this was going to happen. But you know what? Sometimes you just got to roll with.
Dan Le Batard
I want to play this sound for him again and see if I can change his mind on this, because I want you to listen closely and you're. You're the final verdict. Because you would indeed know. But it sounded to me like your voice dropped an octave because of the shame and the pain of what had just happened, that you realized it in. You realized it before the buzzer.
Will Jordan
Treat yourself a round of sausage.
Dan Le Batard
No.
Will Jordan
Well, like I said, I, you know, we're talking about a moment that was like, you know, just unreal. So I'm still going to go with my man, my man, Ryan Seacrest for that one.
Dan Le Batard
Is it. Is it, Is it true? I will take the L. Ryan, can you.
Will Jordan
I'm sorry.
Dan Le Batard
No, I was just making a bad joke there. Can you. I was. I was told, though, that before the thing that went viral, there was actually another moment that you had that was also embarrassing where you guessed K three times in a row, even though there was clearly no K. Well, you can.
Will Jordan
See that I've been a cop a long time because I guess K for staking out, you know, the ocean, whatever one that was in my head, I'm staking. You know, we're doing a lot of stakeouts, so really, I should have guessed the R for staring, but, yeah, you.
Dan Le Batard
Can see where my mindset was after everything that happened. Have you heard from anybody in the last couple of days and has there been much here that has been life changing in any way?
Will Jordan
Yeah, you know, the one of the late night shows called me Jimmy Kimmel, a sausage company, one of the largest ones in the country. I'm just starting a correspondence with them, so, you know, you know, again, I think, you know, not being on social media for the first couple of days kind of hurt me. So reluctantly I joined up, like I said, and we'll see what happens. But just to see the clips around the world is really mind boggling. You know, just to think they're talking about it overseas in Australia. It's quite amazing. But again, if I can turn the spotlight a little bit on, you know, why I was on the show, as a veteran, I do want to do something positive. We did raise almost $2,000 for my local food bank just for my friends and neighbors and family at my watch party. Very proud of that. And the police department works with me very closely with that. And now we're trying to attend, you know, turn the attention to our veterans. I, in my town that I work in now is a large VA home. Right. A veterans affair home. And so it's, it's right in front of me. I see it every day I go by and the guys are great. We go up there and talk to the veterans as much as we can. We have a great rapport with them and the camaraderie is there. And so, you know, there are veterans out there that are hurting mentally or physically. And if, you know, through all this, you know, being in the spotlight, if we can constantly bring them up, let people know that if they could do anything, whether it's donate $5, $10, or if you see a veteran and thank them for their service. And I'm trying to really make this a positive thing for them.
Dan Le Batard
Give the people the name of the charity because I am sure you have moved them with your attitude. It's exactly the right way to handle all of this. I hope Sausage rains down from the sky for you. I'm imagining that all of this will be profitable. I hope that it is. But if you want to help Will Jordan, how can people help with what it is that you want to help with?
Will Jordan
Well, I appreciate that, sir. Thanks for that. I would say at this point, if they want to just get on, find me on Instagram and so we could do some brainstorming. So this is all new. It's only been five days. So we're trying to figure out how we can pinpoint our efforts and our mission to move forward. Exactly. I know there's some great, there's great fundraisers out there. Tunnels for Towers is a huge one. People have VA housing in their towns and communities. So there's a lot to do. But right now just finding me on Sausage King, legend on Instagram would really, or even Facebook with Will Jordan that my, my buddies at work got me up going and on the Facebook. So one of the two ways, if they can contact me and we can start a dialogue. I'd be willing to work with anyone to try to help me bring awareness.
Dan Le Batard
Sausage King was taken, I'm assuming. So you made it. Sausage King legend.
Will Jordan
Well, thank you. One guy. One guy is getting a lot of attention. He put on one of the social media sites. This guy didn't go on Wheel of Fortune to win money. Will Jordan went on Wheel of Fortune, become a legend. And I thought, you know what?
Dan Le Batard
That's.
Will Jordan
That's hilarious. And you know what? We're gonna discard all the negative comments and we're gonna focus. Luckily, it's been majority focused of positivity, and that's what we're gonna focus on.
Dan Le Batard
He's the Sausage King legend. Thank you, sir. That's also. Amin was right, ladies and gentlemen.
Chris Cody
Importantly, Will's wrong.
Dan Le Batard
The most important thing, as we all know. Amin was right, ladies and gentlemen. Amin was right.
Chris Cody

Will Jordan
I should go say hello.
Amin Elhassan
This is the Don Levatar show with.
Dan Le Batard
The stugats we have. Joining us now, what is today the world's greatest interviewer. Congratulations, Jazzy Guerra. She crushed the Mike Tyson interview. Now, she does a lot of this. She's talked to Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar and Michelle Obama. I don't know what she regards as her greatest and best interview, but let's just play for the people how professionally she handled difficult circumstances with Mike Tyson.
Jazzy Guerra
So after such a successful career, what type of legacy would you like to leave behind when it's all said and done?
Mike Ryan
Well, I don't know. I don't believe in the word legacy. I just think that's another word for ego. Legacy doesn't mean nothing. That's just some word everybody grabbed onto. Someone said that word and everyone grabbed on the word. So now it's used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I'm just passing through. I'm gonna die and it's gonna be over. Who cares about legacy after that? What a big ego. So I'm gonna die. I want people to think that I'm this, I'm great, I'm no, we're nothing. We're just dead. We're dust. We're absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.
Jazzy Guerra
Well, thank you so much for sharing that. That is something that I have not heard before. Someone say that as an answer, can.
Mike Ryan
You really imagine somebody say, I want my legacy to be this way when I get debt? Why do you want me really want to think about you? How? What's the audacity? I think I want people to think about me when I'm gone. Who the cares about me when I'm gone?
Dan Le Batard
Jazzy, you did such a great job. The silence just excellent interviewing work to allow the silence for him to continue talking.
Jazzy Guerra
But thank you so much for the compliment. And honestly, this is the greatest interview. Now, just letting you guys know.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, I mean, we thought so too. But among all the ones you've done, what was the previous greatest before this one?
Jazzy Guerra
I mean, every single interview. Every single interview that I have done has had great viewership, and everyone had a great time. So I say every single other interview.
Chris Cody
So you're saying this right now is your favorite interview, not the Tyson one, right? You're saying just spending this time with us right now?
Jazzy Guerra
Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying.
Chris Cody
Oh, you're a hero.
Dan Le Batard
I don't think. I think she's being. That's false. Are you saying this on every interview that you're doing?
Jazzy Guerra
No, I'm not. And you could say. You guys could check.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. My bad. I check. I was very. No, I don't think we need to check. I actually believe her here. When Mike Tyson was. Went to death, there you were. How surprised.
Jazzy Guerra
You know, as a. As a reporter, you have to expect the unexpected, but that was something that I did not expect. But I took it like, I feel like I took it professionally, and I was really, really surprised. But at the same time, everyone has their own views, and everyone has their own kinds of meaning of life, and they're worshiping you.
Dan Le Batard
They are bowing. They are bowing.
Will Jordan
Bravo.
Dan Le Batard
But Jeremy's also distracting the content from being made, and this is typical of his behavior. Yes, yes. She can learn nothing from you.
Mike Ryan
So, Jazzy, I want to ask you, you've tried to interview Mike Tyson before, and he's turned down most requests. How did you guys land this one?
Jazzy Guerra
Well, MVP promotions, they actually helped me get this interview. And it's not like this is my first time interviewing Mike Tyson. I had a chance to interview him before, and that's why he decided to accept the interview, because he knew what kind of questions I actually asked.
Dan Le Batard
On the level of surprise to a question you've asked, certainly this was the most surprising answer you have received. Yes. When you say that you had not heard that before. I'm assuming that was the most surprised you've been during one of these interviews.
Jazzy Guerra
Yes, it was. That was one of the most surprising moments I've had in an interview. I was not expecting that answer whatsoever.
Dan Le Batard
Were you a little scared?
Jazzy Guerra
Not really scared. I was more so just, you know, just listening to what he had to say.
Dan Le Batard
But you do understand that the face that he gave you was scary, that he. And he was talking about death. So I was scared on your behalf.
Mike Ryan
I'm still scared.
Jazzy Guerra
Oh, no, I wasn't. I wasn't really scared at that moment. I just. I feel like Mike Tyson, he. He's. I mean, I'm from Brooklyn. We're both from Brooklyn. So at the same point, if he was trying to scare me, I wasn't gonna get scared.
Mike Ryan
No.
Dan Le Batard
Oh, my God. Okay, all right, all right. Amazing. I mean, all right. I see if you can find for me, me interviewing Mike Tyson. And so she can hear how scared I was when he got mad at me. And I will show you how this jazzy. So what has been some of the reaction that you have gotten that has been most interesting or exciting over the last 24 hours?
Jazzy Guerra
Honestly, I've seen so many different types of articles that were made, videos, and everyone decided to look at my video and just share it, and it has gone viral for the last 24 hours. And I'm so glad that that video went viral. Viral. I'm very appreciative to everyone that decided to, you know, put my interview on the map.
Dan Le Batard
You've been doing this for a while, correct? You've been doing this for how long?
Jazzy Guerra
Five years.
Dan Le Batard
And what's the end game, Spence? What's. Yeah, where do you want this to end up? What is your dream?
Jazzy Guerra
My dream is to have my own show and to just expand my brand. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do in like, 10, 15 years, but I'll go with the flow for right now.
Dan Le Batard
Why the interest in this?
Jazzy Guerra
Because I'm a curious kid and I'm from Brooklyn, and I feel like I could definitely pave the way for future journalists.
Dan Le Batard
Did you model yourself after anybody? Like, how did you decide at 9 years old, this is something that I think I could be good at.
Jazzy Guerra
Well, my dad, he actually entered. He actually used to take my brothers and I to Denver meet and greets so that we can meet our favorite professional soccer players, you know, our professional athletes that we really liked. And we got autographs and everything. And over time, I decided, hey, let's do something much more constructive with our Time. So I decided, hey, let's get a karaoke mic. We're going to get iPad, and we're going to start our own YouTube channel. And my dad, he helped me. He helped me the entire time, and he still helps me out. He's my manager, and it's just really great. I still feel like I just started.
Dan Le Batard
What did your dad have to say about all of what happened here?
Jazzy Guerra
Well, he was. He was very excited to see the kind of response that we were getting.
Mike Ryan
Getting you. Your first interview was with Greg Popovich. What do you remember of it?
Jazzy Guerra
Yeah, Coach Pop. It was so exciting, because I remember I was outside waiting for him, and I was just reviewing my questions over and over and over again just to make sure I didn't mess up anything in front of him. And when he did come, I did my interview. I was like, oh, Coach Pop, can I please interview you? He was like, oh, what's your name? And I was like, oh, my name is Jazzy. Can I please interview you? He said, yeah, of. And I interviewed him, and I remember I had a cup of. Had a cup of hot chocolate at the time, and I don't think I put it down. I didn't put it down, right? No, I didn't put it down.
Mike Ryan
Oh, wow, look at that.
Dan Le Batard
So you were more nervous interviewing Pop than you were interviewing Mike Tyson.
Diana Rossini
Yeah.
Jazzy Guerra
I mean, that's your first interview. If that's my first interviews, then yeah.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah. Okay. I'm not. I'm sorry. I didn't. I didn't mean to offend you. I didn't mean to. Let's. Let's just play the sound so that Jazzy can hear now. I've been doing interviews for 30 years, okay? And. And Mike Tyson didn't like something that I asked him, and I immediately started peeing down my leg because I was very scared. And you will hear it here. Mike, how'd you feel that went. How'd you feel like that went? Was that okay for you?
Will Jordan
No.
Mike Ryan
What do you think about it?
Will Jordan
Huh?
Mike Ryan
What do you think you're being smart a little bit about it?
Diana Rossini
What do you think?
Dan Le Batard
I went, no, no, no, not. No, no. Not being smart. I would not. I would not do that to Mike Tyson. I'm not being smart. It's just our experiences with you have been up and down, up and down. I am not being smart. No, sir. I say it in the most respectful way possible.
Mike Ryan
Well, you the interviewer, so you tell me how it went, buddy.
Dan Le Batard
Uneven, I would say. Sometimes the. The questions were okay. Sometimes the Answers were short and didn't seem like you wanted the questions.
Mike Ryan
I'm sorry, I just got out of bed the second.
Will Jordan
And I'm sorry I can't give you.
Mike Ryan
The interview that you anticipated. Probably in the next interview, I will be able to do that, buddy.
Dan Le Batard
Okay. I'm sorry if I've upset you, Mike. Thank you for being on with me.
Mike Ryan
No, you didn't upset me, because if you upset me, you would have known about it.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, well, regardless, Mike, you are as such. You're are as such.
Will Jordan
Thank you.
Amin Elhassan
Thank you, Mike.
Chris Cody
Thank you, Mike.
Will Jordan
Thank you.
Chris Cody
Mike Bomani at the end.
Dan Le Batard
Go ahead and, Jazzy, as the world's best interviewer, go ahead and critique that, please. And don't be. You don't have to be polite. I want your professional assessment.
Jazzy Guerra
Well, professional assessment, that's Iron Mike for you. I don't know what to say. I mean, that's Iron Mike with the nickname.
Chris Cody
She's a pro.
Dan Le Batard
She gets it. Yeah, but I have to do a better job there, do I not? Like, didn't I fail? Wouldn't you give me any tips there to say, here's what you could have done slightly better?
Jazzy Guerra
No, you did a. You did a great job. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed hearing that. It was very entertaining.
Mike Ryan
I'll tell you what you could have said, Dan. You could have said, I've never heard that answer before.
Dan Le Batard
I could.
Mike Ryan
I'm gonna tell you right now, that is brilliant. I saw that. I said, this is a pro right here. She's a pro. Because that's the one thing. That's the only thing I think you could say in that situation after being handed an answer that was completely out of left field. At what point did you know you were gonna have the wherewithal to say that? Did you know it midway through his answer, or was that on the spot when he just had that moment of silence?
Jazzy Guerra
That was on the spot because when I heard that moment of silence, because I usually like to give people silence afterwards just to make sure that they have all their thoughts together and that they don't want to add anything on to their answer. But when I realized that he wasn't going to add anything on, I was like, okay, that's the first thing that I said. That's the first thing that clicked. And it was a transition. I was trying to transition to the next question because that was something I haven't heard before, and that was something that, you know, I wanted to just transition to. My next question.
Dan Le Batard
What is the key to doing a good interview? What One key above all others.
Jazzy Guerra
Just have fun and be yourself and have research. Yeah, research.
Dan Le Batard
Research. That's many different answers. Those are different answers. I asked you for one answer and you gave me many different answers. Okay.
Jazzy Guerra
I think research.
Mike Ryan
How much, how much prep work do you do before an interview?
Jazzy Guerra
Lots.
Diana Rossini
A lot.
Jazzy Guerra
That's. Yeah, a lot. A lot of research.
Dan Le Batard
And the most nervous you've been before an interview was pop. Like, did you, did you get rid of all the nerve since then? You're fine now.
Jazzy Guerra
Okay, I'm going to tell you guys something and I tell almost everyone this. I still get nervous before interviews. I get really, really nervous, but I also get really excited. So it's like a weird mixed feeling thing that's going on. It's like excitement with nervousness. So that's why I get. And that's where my energy comes from.
