Welcome to the Big Sui presented by DraftKings. Why are you listening to this show, the podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan LeBatard podcast?
Stugotz
I'm sorry.
Zach
I'm not going to apologize for that.
Dan LeBatard
In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it. And now here's the marching man to.
Stugotz
Nowhere, Fat Face and the habitual Liar.
Billy Gill
This episode is presented by DraftKings. DraftKings. The Crown is yours.
Dan LeBatard
All right, so I don't know what to do about that first hour because we now have an orally binding commitment, Billy. And that's not the way you negotiate these things. Usually you talk these things out. They don't happen on air.
Billy Gill
Well, you did this once before where you said, if I have another kid, I'd get a raise. And then I thought we were just joking. And then like weeks later you're like, so where are we on this kid? And I was like, that was just like a bit. We were Doing. I didn't think that, like, raise was coming if I had a child. I don't think. And you kept saying it's orally binding. And like, I don't think that's how it.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, well, I. It is orally binding. Right now. I'm on lawyer.
Zach
I think that is how it works.
Dan LeBatard
Thank you. Well, okay.
Billy Gill
Judge and a lawyer with prejudice.
Zach
How do you think I became a judge?
Stugotz
By doing Spanish? Play by play.
Zach
Law school.
Dan LeBatard
So the thing that I have a trouble with here is. And Stuart, I just called Stewart and he told me that this is that. Because I've done this a couple of times now with you, that we're out ahead of ourselves. Where Laquita knows that we need this property and it's a condemned property. It's a small property. It can't. It's got to be one of the few properties in South Florida that doesn't have a great deal of value because we're building straight up. Because we have no more room. Because it's the least affordable housing market in the United States. I think it still is. So we're in a bad negotiating position with La Gita. But I do want to buy it for you whether you have a kid or not. And I want to buy it so that Laquita Studios is something that we're building at Meadowlark Media through Billy Gill. It's something that I wish to do, but we got to get. We got to get the price down and we got to negotiate this correctly. Not you and me, us and them.
Billy Gill
So what do we do?
Tony
Let me. Let me work it then. Let me work it. I'll talk to the guy. We'll make something happen.
Billy Gill
Can we agree he came in with a really stank attitude today? Like everybody here was riding high with pretty happy. And you came in, like, with a stank ass attitude and you really brought things down.
Dan LeBatard
Well, it's a Wild Willy Wednesday.
Tony
He never. He's never wrong on Wild Willy Wednesdays. He get gifts from Dan if he has a child. Dan wants to buy him things like, I don't know what's going on here. We need to talk to Stuart about other things, by the way.
Dan LeBatard
I mean, he's got. Wait a minute. He's got seniority over you.
Tony
It's not about me. It's not about me.
Billy Gill
You report to me, son.
Tony
I do not report to you. I would have been gone long ago.
Dan LeBatard
Billy, we can arrange that too, if you want. As part of it is a wild West. We can. We can actually arrange. We're in the middle. We are right now in the middle of making the company org chart. I'm not even kidding. Like, remaking the entire company org chart. I would actually be happy to create a situation where Tony reports to.
Billy Gill
You know, I don't want to. I don't want that, because then his failures reflect poorly on me. And we know those are coming. Those are bountiful. And I don't want that on my resume.
Dan LeBatard
Okay? But this is the issue we have today on a wild Willie Wednesday because it is on your resume. Tony's tonight is a burgeoning thing. Tony tonight, as a. Tony, every day as a hustler has hustled his way into business in truly pure rakita Cuban style. Like, he's created some things, and he's got a big head now. Like, he's gotten. He came in with confidence, and now he's got more confidence. The same thing happened to Zach.
Tony
Talk to him.
Dan LeBatard
And so what do I do about Tony Tonight is 10 minutes long. And, man, that's a big piece of property. It's great to. To play Tony tonight for 10 minutes. And you. Oh, something you missed, Tony, before you got here. And we still haven't gotten to whether or not you were arrested on the train or not. Billy said that if he had your confidence, he said some version of he would have conquered the world already.
Tony
He's right.
Dan LeBatard
And left these. This place five years ago.
Tony
He's right.
Billy Gill
Not left.
Tony
But like, someone would have graduated, you're saying?
Billy Gill
Yeah.
Tony
Not left. Graduated.
Billy Gill
No, I'd still be around. Everybody's still around. Look at me. Still here.
Stugotz
Yeah. I'm not going anywhere.
Billy Gill
Exactly.
Tony
It's the same thing with his wardrobe, too. Like, if he had the confidence to go out and we. Of the things that I wear, he could do it. I've seen him wear things where I'm like, okay, good job, Billy. That's good. He's got to work. Get rid of the body dysmorphia.
Dan LeBatard
You look good.
Tony
You're. You're more than £200. You're. You're out there, dude.
Billy Gill
Now I'm starting to understand the soda drinker's body feeling that Zaz got.
Zach
Yo, why you gotta look at me while you talk about.
Billy Gill
No, I'm just saying I'm understanding what you were feeling before because he said you're over £200. And the way that he said that seemed like, you know, like a little slight.
Tony
I'm over £200.
Billy Gill
I did have a conversation with someone yesterday here in this office that you, you will probably agree with where I said, I need to be completely honest with you. I said this to Matthew Coogler, who was sitting on the couch. I said, I need to be completely honest with you because he was talking to me about, I don't know what cougs. And I go, I put very little effort into my appearance. And he laughed at me. And he said, everybody knows that. I was like, whoa. I thought I was confessing something here, like an insecurity that I didn't really try in my appearance. And it turns out everybody here just knows that I'm a bad dresser.
Stugotz
Brian Scalabrini Soda drinker's BODY I would.
Billy Gill
Look like an asshole if I dressed like you. And I don't mean that as an instinct.
Tony
No, you need to have the confidence to go with it. Cause if you walk in kind of.
Billy Gill
Like all the linens and like these things that look like they go on old ladies couches, and it's like, I can't pull that off. Like, I'm not a fish. I don't belong in like a net top. Like, what are you wearing? You know, I can't do it.
Tony
It's not netted top.
Dan LeBatard
Billy, anytime I've seen you dress up, you dress up nicely.
Billy Gill
Oh, I clean up well. But that's also the. I think that we've said the story on air that when we went to. When we went to Austin and we were, you know, going to do the shows, we had run throughs at like the Four Seasons or wherever it was. I remember two seasons, but I showed up. I showed up on a different flight than everyone else. My flight was later in the day, so everyone had already spent like half a day bonding when I arrived. So I was like texting, trying to figure out where everybody is so I can meet up with them. So I go meet up with them and. And I simply got a haircut and put on my contacts. And they didn't know that I was their co worker. Nobody knew who I was, recognized. They didn't recognize me at the time. Like, the person that was running it, like, looked at me and was like, how can I help you? And I was like, we work together. And they're like, oh, I didn't even recognize you. So, like, I clean up well, but it's because I come from such a shit, like, layer of normalcy there that if I do really anything to try to not look, you know, myself, I'm better, you know.
Tony
No, you're right.
Zach
Found a word that was shocking.
Billy Gill
I appreciate that.
Tony
Again, if you just walk in the confidence that, hey, I own this. Like I look good in what I and what I'm in.
Stugotz
Make it happen, Paul Canerco. So to drink his body tremendous.
Billy Gill
Yeah, that's good. That's good.
Dan LeBatard
I can't believe that Tony, while giving you the Tom Cruise and Magnolia confidence talking, corrected you correctly on a word. I can't believe. Well, we just. We're about to make him report to you. And I'm about to make you decide whether we play Tony's Tony tonight today or not. Because now that he reports to you. Orally binding. Since we've been speaking, we have a 10 minute segment with Tony. And the last time we played a segment, I got to tell you that the aforementioned Cougs didn't want to play it. And Tony's like, who's he? And I'm like, he did Craig Ferguson show. Who cares? I'm Tony.
Tony
No, I said he's here now. He's not on the Craig Faris and show. He's here now.
Dan LeBatard
Right, but he didn't want to play. He didn't want to. That wasn't Tony's tonight. That was something else. But Tony, he didn't want to play that. But he didn't want to tell you he didn't want to play that. And we shouldn't have played it because it didn't have the conclusion of you sparring with someone. It needed a payoff. Now we've got a Tony's tonight and Billy's in charge today.
Billy Gill
Well, I haven't seen this. I don't know what it is, so I can't vouch for this.
Tony
This one's great. This one's with local luminary in the media. Oh, Mr. Eats 305. My buddy George.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, but I need your help here, Bill.
Billy Gill
He gave me a hat once, so I'm like leaning towards we'll just promote his stuff because I got a free hat. That's how I roll. You give me a free hat, we're good?
Dan LeBatard
Well, no, but I need you to make an executive decision here. There are 10 minutes of valuable property.
Billy Gill
Seems long if I'm going to be honest with you on the front. And 10 minutes seems like a long time.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, well, let's talk this out because.
Billy Gill
We'Re not talk about.
Dan LeBatard
We're not an organized production here. Hold on. We'll find out or not whether or not Tony tonight plays today. You're going to make the decision.
Stugotz
Dexter Pittman, soda drinkers body.
Billy Gill
I feel like we need a skinny person in there. So, like, you can understand like, that. You know, skinny people can also be soda drinkers.
Stugotz
You know, Jalen Rose, soda drinker's body. Skinny guy.
Jeremy
Nice one.
Stugotz
Soda drinker body.
Tony
Is he skinny, though? He's big guy.
Stugotz
Well, now, but Jalen Rose back then. Yeah, Skinny.
Billy Gill
Diet Coke, Dan, for later on today. I have three different pickles. And you can choose the pickle that you want to figure out.
Zach
Pickles in my movie theater.
Billy Gill
You know what, Zaz? I went and they sold pickles in my movie theater, too.
Jeremy
No way.
Billy Gill
I think it was $2.99. Right.
Zach
And mine is $2.99. Yeah, Dill, I didn't ask what kind.
Dan LeBatard
I want to. Billy, come to terms on you getting more power? I'm endorsing what it is that Tony's saying. You just need a little more attitude in your game. But you have to be the person that's also willing to tell Tony, hey, that's not Good enough. Those 10.
Billy Gill
I'm more than willing to tell Tony that's not good enough. I tell him that every day about everything.
Dan LeBatard
I think Tony maybe should report to you then. I think. I think you should do it. I think we should create Lakita Studios.
Billy Gill
Look, what do I do when he threatens to fight people?
Dan LeBatard
Well, no, we got to call outside human resources. We got to call them, too. Who?
Billy Gill
See, this is the problem.
Tony
Bring in an HR nerd here. We'll see what happens.
Dan LeBatard
Oh, no.
Billy Gill
On site hr.
Tony
That's Dominique Foxworth.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, that's not going to work. It's not the way that needs to be. I'm having trouble, Billy. I'm not to lie to you. I'm having trouble keeping up with the show today. I'm getting knocked aside here. And I meant to get to Tyreek Hill 90 minutes ago.
Stugotz
Sports.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah, well, I meant to do this 90 minutes ago because I've been making fun for the last couple of days about, like, how ridiculous it is that we're headed into another football season during a slow time, and our local team that used to be the winningest is now an afterthought everywhere. They had a couple of years of, oh, that looks like maybe it's exciting. And then it was nothing so fun that one year. Well, it was fun that one year because of the guy who we're about to hear from. And it's been interesting to watch everything there. Watch. He went from Kansas City to here, and he said, in Kansas City, we'll win seven or eight championships. And if they'd stayed there weren't Going to be a whole like if. If Tyree Kill. If Tyree Kill and Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes loved each other so very much like the Panthers do. They could have stayed together for a really long time. But. But Tyreek Hill wanted to be a star and he gave us those three years of, oh, look what it feels like to have one fifth of the Chiefs. It seems exciting. One fifth of the Chiefs excitement. We haven't had that here in 25 years. We got the fastest guy, but he's an embarrassment to the region. And only because he's the fastest dude in the league do we support any of his nonsense because his life is a reckless mess off the field. And if he gets in trouble, whatever I tell you right now, he got in trouble today. This way you'd believe it. I could tell you anything and you'd be like, yeah, that probably happened.
Billy Gill
Let's try that. Give us a number of made up.
Dan LeBatard
Well, I think that's a way my executive.
Tony
I love it. Keep going.
Billy Gill
We decide, is this real or false?
Dan LeBatard
That's a good game. You want to play that game.
Billy Gill
It seems like you guys don't. And no, I think with Tyree Kills, he does, he does have bad things. Right. But like a lot of the things also that that come out in the news about him are infidelity issues. And now he has a child with, you know, another partner or whatever, which like, that's none of my business. No, but like the legal stuff obviously is. Is bad and not defendable. But when it like we're there, we're talking about like, look, he had another kid, he cheated on his wife.
Zach
He's like, well, there's also a lot of bs. It's broke my leg in his backyard and it's got pushed off of a dock.
Billy Gill
No. Yeah, that stuff's terrible. I'm saying when we come at him about he had this many kids on fire. That's not mine.
Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds
Mother effing. Can we bother? Are we bothering you right now?
Dan LeBatard
Turn on your microphone. My microphone's on Stugats.
Ryan Reynolds
Paint the scene.
Dan LeBatard
The paint the scene is. I gotta go to work. Good night.
Billy Gill
This is the Dan Levatar show with the Stugats.
Stugotz
Kevin Nuclas Soda Drinker's Body.
Ryan Reynolds
I'm kind of out on all of this Tyreek Hill we got yesterday because it's just he does it every year. He shows up to spring training and he says it's like it's. It felt just like Jimmy this last camp for the Heat. I'm gonna say all the right things and then as soon as something doesn't go my way, I'm out with this. As soon as Tyreek has a game where he has three catches for 40 yards, he's gonna be mad again like he. He's trying to do this. We could play this sound where he's just, oh, I have to be a better. He says all the right things and it just means nothing. Say it after a bad game.
Zach
I. I think the only difference right now between Tyreek Hill and Jimmy Butler was Tyree Kill actually said he's quitting. Like we were assuming that Jimmy Butler is quitting during games. Tyreek Hill actually said I quit during the game.
Dan LeBatard
I'm sorry.
Stugotz
Did you say he showed up to spring training?
Billy Gill
Yes, he did. He's playing baseball.
Tony
Training camp.
Ryan Reynolds
Did I not say training camp? I said camp with NBA.
Stugotz
He said spring training.
Ryan Reynolds
I apologize.
Tony
I don't want to correct them.
Dan LeBatard
I would and want to, but I am struggling because I want our company to build studios for Billy Gill at Lavaqui.
Billy Gill
I should have not said that. I feel like now you're going to get caught up on this and it's going to kind of distract from what we're trying to accomplish.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah, Okay.
Billy Gill
I didn't intend it. And now here's the thing. If I wanted to buy that on my own, now, I've started a bidding war. So I've really done a disservice to myself, which I don't know why I did that, you know, because I know Stuart's never going to prove this.
Tony
Billy, here's the thing, though. All you got to tell the owner is, look at this big company trying to buy this thing. I'm a local guy. I want to do this for me. I want to do this for my family, for my community.
Dan LeBatard
Community.
Tony
Grow the roots. All of a sudden, they get weeded out. You get a lower offer.
Dan LeBatard
Bam.
Billy Gill
You know what I've learned from when I was buying a home? They usually don't like the. The woe is me story where I'm offering less. They're going to take the most money from whoever it is that offers it to them.
Stugotz
No, you got to play the local angle. You say, hey, look up Metal Arc Media. Where's their headquarters? New York. Do you want those big city assholes?
Billy Gill
Yeah. City slickers.
Stugotz
Yeah. No, man. Keep it local here. I'm a local boy.
Billy Gill
Yeah.
Stugotz
Born and raised. Generations. Keep it here in the family. That's how you sell yourself.
Billy Gill
Okay.
Dan LeBatard
I believe we should crowdsource this to our audience and see if they want to rise up and buy this for you in a very difficult time. See if they buy it for you. I'll leave it alone for the moment.
Zach
Don't fund me to buy La Vaquita.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah. I want to figure out how to buy this. I'm going to leave it alone right now. But I do want to offer an apology for yesterday. We were talking about boy bands. There was a lot of menudo. There was a lot. What are you shaking your head about?
Jeremy
You guys really did a bad job on that conversation.
Ryan Reynolds
Oh, sorry. We didn't mention O town.
Billy Gill
This is NSync.
Jeremy
I can't believe the way that you guys skipped over NSync. It was unbelievable.
Ryan Reynolds
No, we acknowledge.
Jeremy
You just sort of threw them to.
Ryan Reynolds
The side as if it's a conversation.
Jeremy
About New kids on the block and Backstreet.
Ryan Reynolds
You obviously weren't listening.
Jeremy
I was listening. He was obsessed with them.
Ryan Reynolds
We did Ms. Zaz, and we were like, it's clearly NSync and Backstreet Boys is the top two.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah.
Jeremy
There was not even. There was not even a debate about whether NSYNC was ahead of Backstreet Boys when clearly they are.
Billy Gill
No.
Jeremy
If you're someone who's 30 or under. You don't. First of all, you don't even know New Kids on the Block. They didn't even make that type of.
Zach
Okay, great. They might be starting before 1990. Like, didn't exist.
Jeremy
Well, if you go right now, you guys started doing record sales. Go to Spotify right now. What are the most streamed songs? What do people. People actually listen to right now? What are the ones with lasting impact? I want it that way. That's the biggest song of any of them.
Zach
Who cares about the number of streams? Someone yesterday made up an artist called Diplo and said they're popular.
Jeremy
I mean, what conversation are we having? Look at who we're talking to.
Billy Gill
New Kids on the Block did have a Saturday morning cartoon.
Ryan Reynolds
Now, I don't know if anyone wants to have this, but I am ready for a Backstreet Boys versus NSync debate.
Jeremy
I think the difficulty is that Backstreet Boys, because none of them could be capable of going solo.
Ryan Reynolds
They're deeper. They're still Justin Timberlake. If we were drafting the two bands, hear me out. It would be Justin Timberlake first from nsync. The next four picks.
Jeremy
JC Chazay was great dude.
Ryan Reynolds
Nick, Brian, AJ and how Howie and JC are close.
Zach
Donnie Walbrooks ahead of all of them.
Ryan Reynolds
How he's a great voice.
Jeremy
JC Is a tremendous.
Billy Gill
The bottom, he was a massive flop.
Ryan Reynolds
The bottom three of NSync are just like nothing things. Jason, dare you say that about Joey.
Billy Gill
Cisco had a great single.
Stugotz
Joey Fatone. Joey Fatone is not only all over.
Ryan Reynolds
Impractical jokers, he performs at Epcot, Joey and Friends, but also, I don't know.
Billy Gill
That he was a good singer.
Tony
That's Hard Times Dog, Hot Dog, and Presario too.
Billy Gill
Can I tell you an idea that I had of me that I think only you would appreciate? And I'm glad that I didn't follow through on it. So you know how, like there's all these podcasts that are like watch along podcasts and they rewatch, like old shows and then they break down the shows. Are you familiar with this concept?
Stugotz
Yes.
Billy Gill
Okay, good. So I was. I was joking around about doing that here with the aforementioned Coogler and with Thomas who used to work here with us.
Dan LeBatard
Please do it.
Billy Gill
And we were gonna do. You don't even know what it is we were gonna do. We can't. We can't do it now. So we were gonna do it for impractical jokers. And impractical jokers. Watch along from the Beginning and break it down as it was like real art. And we're breaking down all these pranks. And then half of them were sexual predators, so.
Stugotz
Well, not half.
Zach
Sheesh.
Tony
Allegedly half is a strong number.
Dan LeBatard
It's not half, but quarter.
Billy Gill
Two of four, one. Well, then who's the other one? There's other texts out there, you know, and, you know, just saying, glad we didn't do that.
Dan LeBatard
All right, so forgive me, Billy. On this Wild Willy Wednesday, the apology I was gonna give before I. Oddly, a boy band argument broke out. Again, the apology that I was going to give is. And, Jeremy, I'm gonna cede the floor to you here to just make all the corrections you want from yesterday's show about not just necessarily boy bands, but anything that we got wrong. Because there are any number of times when Zazzle says, who the hell's Diplo? Where we age out in a way that's embarrassing. But the thing before I do that with you, okay, because what's happening around here, and I'm sorry that I'm this kind of disoriented today, because this is not an actual. But I meant to apologize because every conversation that we were having yesterday that calls Menudo, the OGs or anybody the OGs, and no one ever says the Jackson 5 when we're talking about Boy, when we're talking about bans, it never comes up. Like, is one of the great embarrassments of my career, one of the great shames of my career, that no one around here said anything. That all of these forever will pale forevermore. Because there was another group of people 20 years ahead of them that were far and away better than Joey Fat One.
Stugotz
Okay, hold on. Timeout. So difference in Jackson 5 and all these other bands we've mentioned is all these other bands were manufactured. They were put together versus Jackson 5 was an actual family. Right. These people grew up together. So there's a chemistry there you can never duplicate. Having said that, I thought you were going to go with New Edition, which is the blueprint for all these other bands. New Kids on the Block was basically. This New Edition thing is cool. What if we did a white one?
Ryan Reynolds
New Edition was mentioned.
Zach
They were eventually mentioned yesterday.
Billy Gill
Yeah.
Jeremy
Because Zaz said that New Kids on the Block were the original. And then eventually it had to be brought up that, well, they were really based on New Edition.
Stugotz
Right. And then also, if we want to talk about stardom, New Edition, all those jokers went on to be solo, solo acts. And you can't say that by any of them other bands they all went on to be solo acts.
Jeremy
That was the one thing with NSYNC that made them different than everybody else. Backstreet Boys. The only reason they're still together is because none of them could do it on their own.
Stugotz
Couldn't stand. But NSync, again, you have Timberlake, obviously. Superstar JC Chasse had a solo career.
Jeremy
And he's written for a lot of other artists is what it is.
Stugotz
But it's like, okay. And then Joey Fatone. Who? My guy, I love him. But also he's playing an Epcot, apparently.
Jeremy
I mean, Chris Kirkpatrick was the voice of my Shiny teeth and me on the Fairly Odd Parents. That's not a huge moment in your career.
Billy Gill
We saw Skylark, Chris Kirkpatrick, one day when we were at espn was just hanging out in. In the bar, I think. Super bowl winder. No, it wasn't super bowl week. It was just a random week. He was just hanging out there with friends. And we sent multiple people down there to go, like, do a pat. Like, for sure. We were caught to do a pass. Like, I think that's Chris Kirkpatrick. And he was wearing shorts. So then we started, like, comparing tattoos, like pictures we could find of tattoos on his calf to see if it was him. Turns out it was him just hanging out there with his friends. We were all too embarrassed to talk to him.
Stugotz
The crazy hair going, no, no anymore.
Billy Gill
No. Toned down Tony.
Dan LeBatard
No way that you're too embarrassed to go talk to him in that situation.
Tony
I don't know who he is. So, yeah, I'll go talk.
Dan LeBatard
But I'm just saying. No, but I'm saying, would you behave the way Billy said?
Tony
I don't have the reverence for it.
Billy Gill
Billy, this is his thing. He's too cool for everything. I don't know who that is. You don't know who. One of the members of the biggest bands of all time.
Tony
I don't know if it's Backstreet Boys or NSync. I don't know which one it is.
Billy Gill
Okay, can you tell me? No, I'm not indulging you. Okay, we'll talk about this at your mid year review.
Dan LeBatard
Billy, I want to turn that.
Tony
He wants me to know pans. I don't know.
Ryan Reynolds
Like, what do I do?
Dan LeBatard
No. The question I was asking you, Tony, is if you would behave that way around anyone that you admired. You're hiding around them. You're taking pictures of their tattoo. You're trying to make sure it's them, but then you never get close enough to Actually talk to them or have an exchange. You just have the story of photographing their ankle.
Tony
No, I've been known to go up and say hi, like, Dan. There was one time where we were at Sandbar. Yeah, there was one time we were at Sandbar Dan back in the day, and I went up and I said hi to you, and I said, hey.
Billy Gill
Respectfully, Dan is no Chris Kirkpatrick.
Tony
Okay? But if I don't know Chris Kirkpatrick and I Dan on TV my whole life, that's the closest thing I have to somebody who's famous.
Stugotz
That doesn't feel. Respectfully, I just want to say that.
Billy Gill
Right now, he's no Chris.
Zach
You remember this event?
Tony
Probably not.
Dan LeBatard
I don't. How old were you?
Tony
This was. I'll look it up. It's on my Instagram. Hold on.
Billy Gill
Did you know your dad? Like, you just said hi to your dad's friend?
Tony
Yeah, but I mean, not my dad's friend. Like, I've never met Dan before. I just saw him at a Sandbar, and they had an event, and I was like, let me go say hi to Dan. And there was.
Billy Gill
Can I bring something back for a moment, please? I think. And I'm saying this is as a, you know, compliment to Tony, because I.
Tony
Feel like it won't be getting everybody.
Billy Gill
I think Tony probably goes on the best dates with his wife out of everyone here.
Tony
Thank you for that. He's right.
Billy Gill
Dazzle Zazzo's dates at a bar. Shit dates. Like, we could. We could agree on that.
Zach
It's good for me. I don't know what you're talking about.
Billy Gill
Not exactly. Well, that's the attitude that, you know, led to the breakup, probably. It's good for me, you know, just the Backstreet Boys.
Ryan Reynolds
I mean, geez.
Billy Gill
He went, yeah, but you went to Backstreet Boys because you wanted to see Backstreet Boys. Tony. I feel like him and his wife, like, actually go on dates. They dress up in their linens and they go. They. They put on their heels. They do all that stuff.
Tony
Yeah.
Billy Gill
And they, like, still, like, are very much, like, in love with my wife.
Tony
I date my wife.
Zach
Tony, when you. When you go out with your wife through the restaurant, do you sit on the same side of the booth?
Tony
Never with her?
Zach
Because.
Tony
Because we're normal people.
Ryan Reynolds
Do you pull her chair out when you sit down?
Tony
I try to.
Ryan Reynolds
Nice.
Billy Gill
Really?
Tony
Sometimes. Sometimes the places we go to, the waiters will do it for us.
Ryan Reynolds
Just inconvenient. Sometimes it's like, I'm going to walk.
Jeremy
Do you guys not do that.
Ryan Reynolds
I've done it.
Stugotz
Shut up.
Billy Gill
Now.
Jeremy
I've done take your wife on dates.
Ryan Reynolds
I've done of it.
Stugotz
I see Tony on a date with his wife at the Cole concert.
Tony
That's right.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah, I. I believe I'll probably beat Tony on most Romantic. But we'll have a game show about it at some point and we'll figure out how to.
Billy Gill
Who's your sunflower guy?
Dan LeBatard
Now, around the subject, I don't know what that means.
Billy Gill
Oh, okay.
Tony
Sunflower plug.
Billy Gill
You have a sunflower person for when you get your wife sunflowers. Told you mine before.
Stugotz
Romance.
Billy Gill
I'll give you my sunflower guide. Don't worry.
Stugotz
Look it up.
Dan LeBatard
No, I. No, I go get my wife sunflowers. I didn't realize what you were asking me when you said who's your sunflower person? No, I go to. I get them from Whole Foods.
Ryan Reynolds
Is that flower friends?
Stugotz
Whole Foods. This guy. Do you even know what love is?
Dan LeBatard
So they shouldn't. They're not good flowers at Whole Foods.
Stugotz
You know, you gotta go. You gotta have a plug. You gotta have a guy you go to. Maybe in the Lavaquita. A former lava.
Billy Gill
There are people that look down on grocery store flowers for some reason. I don't understand that either. Who knows where I get my. My flowers.
Zach
I go to Publix, I get flowers.
Billy Gill
I take off the. I take off. You know where they have good tulips?
Stugotz
Where's that?
Billy Gill
Target has good tulips in tulip season. You can go there, get them at an affordable price. You can. Then you go into, like the craft section. You go buy your own ribbon. Then you take off all the plastic surroundings. You go by the ribbon, you tie a bow around it like this. And like, look at this. No one knows if that cost me 12.99 or if that cost me $87.
Stugotz
Great prices on the tulips. Tulips for the price of one.
Ryan Reynolds
If you're ripping off the public sticker from the flowers, it's probably not the best flower.
Billy Gill
No, you gotta get rid of that plastic that it comes in. You gotta. Yeah, you destroy that evidence right away. Get rid of that plastic.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah.
Ryan Reynolds
You set the table, put on a playlist, even made the lasagna from scratch. And now you're wearing it. Oxiclean.
Billy Gill
Maxforce.
Ryan Reynolds
Spray tackles. Tough set in stains the first time.
Zach
Adulting is hard fighting stains shouldn't be.
Ryan Reynolds
Oxiclean. Max Force. It's not clean unless it's Oxiclean.
Zach
Put us in a box.
Billy Gill
Go ahead.
Zach
That Just gives us something to break out of. Because the next generation 2025 GMC terrain elevation is raising the standard of what comes standard.
Billy Gill
As far as expectations go, why meet.
Zach
Them when you can shatter them. What we choose to challenge, we challenge completely.
Billy Gill
We are professional grade.
Zach
Visit gmc.com to learn more.
Stugotz
The McDonald's Snack Wrap is back.
Billy Gill
You brought it back.
Dan LeBatard
Ranch snack wrap.
Stugotz
Spicy snack wrap.
Dan LeBatard
You broke the Internet for a snack Snack wrap is back. Don LeBatard what is the worst part of the life? Stugats.
Billy Gill
The worst part of the life of what? This is the Dan Levatar show with the Stugats.
Dan LeBatard
Soda drinkers bodies in sports. Can we. Are these all going to end up being baseball players? Is there a reason that you just keep choosing nothing but baseball? You threw Jalen Rose in there.
Tony
That's Dexter Pittman too.
Dan LeBatard
There's going to be an occasional he.
Ryan Reynolds
Put in not fat.
Dan LeBatard
There's an inflammation we're talking about here. Right? Like this is. Billy asked you moments ago, he asked you, you how do you look like that if you don't drink soda?
Zach
Such bullshit.
Ryan Reynolds
Michael Doleak.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah, no, but Michael Dole. But Michael.
Zach
How does he look like he has.
Dan LeBatard
A Michael Doleak doesn't seem like he has had a any sugar since 1988. That person. That person is not in Michael Doleak.
Stugotz
Are you looking at Michael Doleak looks like a guy who buys a 2 liter because it's cheaper per ounce than buying a 20 ounce.
Jeremy
Bill Wennington.
Stugotz
Oh yeah big that soda.
Zach
I have no idea how you're like pasty and white. The criteria is.
Dan LeBatard
Well, he just told you he beat you to the punch there. It's just pasty and white. And I would say also inflammation. Right. But I will you tell me I have this wrong? I mean because you know, because I would argue as we talk here that if Michael Doleak was behind the shirtless and I would love if that were so. Though not as much as Chris would like if Paul Skeens were. I think all of these people here would be impressed by that. Michael Doleak would not look like he drinks even today that him and the Plumleys and whatever it is that you think are white and pasty that those people shirtless would not look to you.
Ryan Reynolds
This guy crushes soda.
Dan LeBatard
So you guys did this to Michael Doleak. When you're like that guy hasn't. That's probably him now too. By the way, why do we have.
Stugotz
This picture on deck? Threw that shit out there and then.
Ryan Reynolds
I didn't see him with the voice.
Billy Gill
Someone saw him on vacation, it seems like. Like who? This is a picture of someone here took.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, but this is where you guys consistently underestimate athletes. But when you do it to Scalabrini, I think it's fair and maybe it shouldn't be. I think that's ginger what you're doing.
Ryan Reynolds
You're okay with it because it's a.
Billy Gill
Ginger maybe still a hate crime. Dan. I got one from hockey. Phil Kessel. I got one from hockey. Everyone.
Tony
Yeah.
Billy Gill
No, that's not true. Well, maybe Matthew Shock.
Dan LeBatard
Zaslav comes in here today and he said he was sad. Zaslav was legitimately sad. I was because he's like man, we really blew an opportunity yesterday. We really. As I said, he's gotten more and more confident and he's gotten better at telling me how to do my job though. Not when I need him on the Jackson 5 because he's got his biases that are cultural.
Zach
I like what I like.
Dan LeBatard
He comes in here disappointed in me and to my face like says I'm disappointed in you. And it's because yesterday I missed an opportunity. And this is why he's a local South Florida media legend. To celebrate that yesterday was the three year anniversary of the Panthers got Kachar.
Zach
I blame myself. Like I should have been all over that yesterday. That's something to talk about. Three years to the day. We can't do it today. It's not three years and a day to the day. No, no. We had to do it yesterday. Three years to the day. Maybe the greatest trade in the history of South Florida sports.
Stugotz
The three year anniversary of Chris Whittingham abandoning the Panthers.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah. Jesus.
Zach
So it's an all time loser fan move dog.
Stugotz
Can you think of a. That's never happened.
Billy Gill
Right.
Stugotz
There's never been that much success in three years after someone quitted a fandom.
Zach
And you have to consider the startling lack of success for the previous 20 years.
Dan LeBatard
It's always great when a know it all knows nothing. And Whittingham has publicly and he was winning him is going to have whatever he wants in broadcasting. Already does really. And here when he was South Florida we will always remember eternal fool like know it all gas bag fool about the best thing South Florida has ever seen in sports. He didn't want any of it.
Zach
The things that you want as a sports fan. The only reason you are a sports fan. He decided to abandon and not have any of it.
Ryan Reynolds
It's word association now with person who made the Worst sports decision that I can remember. Whittingham getting rid. Like, that's it. It's just easy.
Dan LeBatard
I hate him.
Ryan Reynolds
He's the worst.
Dan LeBatard
I'm gonna. I'm going to need to go on vacation because I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping up with the show. I was trying to get to Tyreek Hill and Tyreek Hill's influence in our market headed into football. Tyreek Hill, whether you like it or not, Miami, when he speaks, he's. Because of what's happened with your coach. He and your quarterback are the people on this team who speak for this team and represent this team. This era of football and dolphin football belongs to Tua, Tyreek Hill and McDaniel.
Zach
I liked it so much better when the reps. Like the spokespeople of the team were Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas. So much better.
Ryan Reynolds
To a soda body.
Dan LeBatard
Tyree Kill is saying he needs to be a better leader. Keep in mind what we're coming out of, okay? And this person can't be your leader. Like, he can work hard, but he can't be your leader. The end of last season, when him saying, that's it. I'm done. I quit in public, like, to cameras, and everyone's like, what do you mean this can't be your leader? This needs to be just your speed. This shouldn't be your voice. Kansas City didn't let him talk like Kansas City. He was. You didn't hear this much from him when he was in Kansas city.
Ryan Reynolds
I think McDaniel is going to buy this, though. I bet they make him captain again. It's bullshit, man. It's like he does this every year, and then he has a bad game and then he'll rip the team again. It's like McDaniel wants to convince us that the culture's changed, but he's going to make him captain.
Dan LeBatard
I mean, I'd speak to you on this, okay? You need your leader to be your hard worker. And I do not question his work ethic, but I question everything else. I don't question his work ethic. I don't question his speed. I question everything else. And I feel comfortable doing that. Like, this is this person. Okay? When we're. When we're. When Zazzle is like, they're crimes of immorality or. Yeah, I know. Whatever the recklessness is. And you make your judgments about however many children he has. I don't know whether it's 10 or 11, but. Emotional person who's violent with women. We've only seen some of that. And this person represents your team. And some things about him get forgotten because he's fast. But he is a reckless, immature person. We've seen that publicly. It's obvious he cannot be your leader. Can't be your leader.
Stugotz
I think one of the things you guys are neglecting is how is he perceived in the locker room? I don't know. I'm just asking, because sometimes leadership is not bestowed. Sometimes it's just there. And so if the guys listen to him, if they respect him, if they look up to him, like, it's kind of hard to fight that, but how.
Zach
Can they when in the last game of the season, he's on the sideline, they're about to come out for an offensive series, and Jalen Waddle yells over to him, yo, Reek, you coming? Oh, you're done. Oh, like, he literally told them, I'm done in the middle of the game.
Dan LeBatard
But here's your problem.
Zach
A bunch of suckers in that locker room.
Dan LeBatard
Okay, well, no, this.
Zach
Well, yeah, Their teammate quit on them, and, oh, it's my leader.
Dan LeBatard
Well, but here. Okay, so you say there's suckers in the locker room. Man, this one's complicated. So he came from a champion, okay? And he left for money and power and got it. Now he runs your room because he's the one with the money and the power. Everyone else here is pretty interchangeable. And everyone knows, oh, look, our quarterbacks, we can't trust him. All we got. All we got that we know is he's fast. Like, that change that changes everything. Our coach doesn't look so good when he's injured. Our quarterback doesn't look so good if he's not trying his hardest. What Amin is saying is interesting because they might not respect a million things about him, but he makes the most money in there. You know, him and his quarterback, and he's got a ton of power. He's also the only one who's done some actual winning.
Stugotz
Winning. That's the thing.
Dan LeBatard
He's the only one. Like, when all of them get questioned for being tough, he's not questioned for it. We're not questioning his toughness. So when he says, well, how do the guys feel about him? I would say you got a whole lot of guys who don't have job security, proof that they're actually winners. And that's the guy that's at the top of the food chain as their most famous, important person.
Billy Gill
But they also did plenty of winning without him in Kansas City. Like, as soon as he was gone, they didn't really lose a step. And they actually have done more winning without him than they did winning with him. Like, honestly, if you're a Dolphins fan, I don't know how you can want anything but them have. Having traded him already. Like, they should have gotten out from the Tyreek Hill.
Zach
Oh, it's really not possible, though. It's like the cap hit the dead. Money would be so huge if you traded him. Like, it's not worth it. You have to just keep him.
Billy Gill
Well, you, You. You won't get a. You won't get something fair in exchange for him. Right. But I think the most productive days of Tyreek Hill are behind us. Do you not think that? Like, I think the Tyreek Creek Hill window, probably the Dolphins window in general with this team is probably closed somewhat.
Ryan Reynolds
That is.
Zach
That is such. I mean, you might be right. And that is such a disgrace.
Stugotz
We'll always have that Ravens game. I remember watching that on tv.
Billy Gill
We had like, I already jersey because of that game.
Stugotz
That Dolph. That Dolphins Ravens game. That one. That one to me was. I know there's a game where they scored 70.
Zach
No, no, the Ravens game.
Stugotz
The Ravens game was the pin.
Zach
They were down like three touchdowns at halftime.
Tony
Roy went to the movies, didn't see the game.
Ryan Reynolds
I know. I'm thinking of it through the Dolphins prism. But there has to be another example of a team having such a small window of being good. The Dolphins would. We have like, one. We had the best offense. That. And then everyone got hurt at the end of the year. We lost that. But that one year, Dolphin fans were like, we have Mike. There's three seasons done, and there is three seasons.
Billy Gill
There was the first season and then there was the injury with Tua. Then there was. There was the second season.
Zach
That was it. It's two years.
Billy Gill
Yeah.
Ryan Reynolds
Even that first one, we weren't convinced yet. Like, it was really just one year of like, we are good, and then it's gone. And I feel like, what other team had a one year run of being good? It's bullshit. I thought we'd arrived. I was like, I waited my whole life to be good and it's done already.
Tony
The Rams had a small window, but then won the Super Bowl.
Billy Gill
What do you guys make of, like, the reports, I guess, like, former Dolphins that come out and kind of take shots at McDaniels basically saying, like, yeah, he doesn't run a tight ship. Like, there's no structure there. People just come and go as they please. They do whatever they want. Like that's a problem. I like coming in here and having rules to follow because everyone. Accurate. Everyone was praising him for that. Like, oh, look at him. He's a different guy. He comes in here. He has his meetings at, you know, whatever. 25 past the hour. Because it's been 25, Marino, we're gonna.
Zach
Break all your records.
Billy Gill
Yeah, he goes, right. He has the shoes with the tags on them still. And then, you know, the capris and this and that.
Stugotz
He's going to Heat games and sitting.
Billy Gill
Courtside a lot, living his life. He loves his wife and kids like this.
Zach
Guys, where's the shirt at practice? I wish it were colder.
Billy Gill
Yeah.
Zach
And then we're getting frostbite sunglasses.
Dan LeBatard
Do you guys realize what a ticking time bomb this is when Zaslow is talking about disgrace? We haven't even started with this. With the disgrace. I really. I'm looking at what the Chiefs have been for 10 years. However it is. They got to that kind of excellence. And Tyree Kill, almost like a caricature, like a cartoon, like a stereotype, comes in and gets the money and the power of breaking away from team. And now you're gonna try to reign him in when all he's known is success. And it's so easy to lead and get along when everything's good, when everyone's healthy and fine. It's just so easy to do. You cannot trust this person headed into an uncertain season to not be volatile as your leader and the front of your team. You lose three games and he has four catches because you can't block again. This whole thing's going to go up in flames. He's going to get fired during the season because they've given him all the power. They can't take it back now. He yells at the end of the season, get me out of here. I'm gone. And now he's giving me. Giving you this sound to start training camp because he's your guy. He's your voice, he's your legs. This is what you're stuck with. Dolphins, you're riding this.
Tyreek Hill
My whole life, man. I've always been a competitor, though. My grandparents raised me that way. I enjoy winning. I, I, I mean, I know how to lose. But in, in those moments like that, I, I need to be better as a leader. And I realized that throughout this whole entire offense because ever since me and my family got here, this fan base has been special to us. You know, showing up to, like, different engagements. Whenever, whenever we meet people in the community, they've been great. So as a leader of this team, and also as a leader of this community, I just need to be better in that sense and then just know, like, there are, like, a ton of, like, little kids that, like, look up to me as a player, as a role model, so I just gotta remind myself of that, you know what I'm saying? And then just take hold of that and then own it, so.
