Now's a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila. Cuervo, what are you doing here? Cuervo? Anytime someone says Cuervo, I show up. Well, I do know that to be true. But even during ad reads like Cuervo, I think he could lay out especially for one of our great partners. Sweet, delicious Cuervo. Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots. The same family, the same land, the same passion.
Chris
Cuervo.
Stugotz
So enjoy the tequila that started it all. Cuervo. Cuervo, the tequila that invented tequila. Proximo. Cuervo.com, please drink responsibly.
Chris
Cuervo.
Dan LeBatard
Welcome to the Big Sui presented by DraftKings.
Stugotz
Why are you listening to this show?
Dan LeBatard
The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan LeBatard podcast? I'm sorry. I'm not gonna apologize for that.
Stugotz
In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it.
Dan LeBatard
And now here's the marching man to Nowhere, Fat Face and the Habitual Liar.
Chris
This episode is presented by DraftKings. DraftKings. The Crown is yours.
Stugotz
We typically do this earlier in the week, but we have some house cleaning to do and this is one of my favorite segments, the boldest take of the week. Chris, do you have that queued up?
Chris
I have it queued up. It's the boldest take of the week presented by Boost Mobile, the newest 5G network in the country.
Stugotz
Bill here. My bold take is. Hammocks. Overrated. Sure. 15 minute nap here, 20 minute nap there. On vacation. $150 later, get one for the house. Nothing but a patio ornament.
Caller
I'll hang up in this.
Stugotz
Hey, guys, this is Jake on a mobile. Just wanted to see when someone says we like peanut butter and jellies, what would you rather be? I think I'd rather be the peanut butter. I'll hang up and listen.
Caller
Hey, guys, this is Kermit the Frog. And this is my limited fakes you got dismissing Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. Go ahead, Andy Reid. I dare you. Because you think Patrick Mahomes is going to be something that your other quarterback is not.
Stugotz
Hey, Doug from Omaha. Here's my strike recall. Hey, Rock. Pat McAfee looks like the guy who test swings the clubs at topgolf while telling the server that they're not quite as nice as the ones in his bag at home.
Caller
You should have seen that man crash the board. Could play the five but usually played at the four. Well, he don't play the game no more. Was pretty good for a white guy. Made all of the three point tries and also block shots. If that's just race la France pick third in the draft. Jayhawks 2 Nuggets. I'm told that he was great as a big to stretch the floor.
Stugotz
Hey, this is JJ from Immobile. My boldest take is of all the foods that you could spill on the floor, I think the hardest to pick up is shredded lettuce. I'll hang up and listen. Say bit of a dip in form. We got to get better there. I think there's still some more meat on this Aaronic blad bone. But the general vibe that I got is people were trying to coax him into saying, yeah, we're gonna run it back 3 Pete. And he didn't quite take the bait, which is a little concerning. These conversations do happen quickly. It's an unfortunate part of the business. While they're celebrating, a cup of you make it that long means you have less time to have these uncomfortable conversations. By the way, Connor McDavid, if I'm an Oilers fan, not the most encouraging press conferences there. But Aaron Ekblad, he's still young and I know this is a guy that has battled through injuries.
Dan LeBatard
He feels like he's been in the league for 30 years.
Stugotz
It's a guy that he's. He's battled through injuries and he may have taken some performance enhancing drugs to recover from those injuries. And he turned around in his late 20s and played some of the best hockey of his career. And if we're. I'm not and I have no idea their cap situation. They could always make a trade. I think if we're actually looking at guys a trade and this is not a popular opinion given the postseason that he had. Whoa. Carter Hagee.
Chris
Whoa.
Stugotz
Your postseason leader in points. Look that that that contract during the regular season looked like it was immediately bad. And he is a big game player. Whoa. Lays sneaky lumber. But if you're looking at a guy to potentially move and create space on your roster. Look, I know defensively he actually is sneaky good, does some things that guys like Mackey and Jesper don't in the playoffs, right. In the playoffs especially. But I do think some of the offensive production. If you put Mackey on the line with Bennett and Tkachuk, I don't think there's a drop off in your offensive production from that winger spot. I really don't. And I love Carter Hagee and he was immense this postseason, but it seems as though that's just putting off to the side floating something else out there. If you need some cap relief because. Because this is a salary cap sport. But the prevailing theory is you need to pick two out of the three. Brad Marchand, Sam Bennett, who seems. You've already reported that stun and dusted. Eight for eight. That's great. He's already said that he's.
Dan LeBatard
I haven't reported the terms.
Stugotz
Well, eight for eight. He was chaining eight more years. So it seems as though those. Those rumors are true. I've done some digging around there. That seems to be the number. Eklad, you know, he can make a lot of money.
Dan LeBatard
Okay. So let's.
Chris
Well, hold on. Let's.
Stugotz
I know Carolina is dead. Definitely interested in Aaron Neckblad.
Dan LeBatard
All right, let's start here. What is a reasonable price for the Panthers to offer Aaron Neckblad, who's coming off of 8 million a year?
Chris
6. 6 per year.
Stugotz
He hasn't done. He hasn't done anything outside of performance enhancing drugs to say that headed into his 30 years of age season that he deserves a pay cut.
Chris
If Darnell Nurse makes eight and a half, yeah. Bouchard Ekblad can get that.
Stugotz
Bouchard was defensively an embarrassment. Meanwhile, Aaron Ekblad defensively was a sower for this team. And everyone's counting on him to take a pay cut. He's made a lot of money in his career. This is a guy that's made like what, Roy, close to $60 million in his career. Aaron Eckblad is not underpaid by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe he wants to continue winning, but that is not the vibe that I caught from Aaron Eckblad. This is a guy that can make a big fat contract. And you look at a team like Carolina, who I happen to know done some reporting on this, is very interested in signing Aaron Eckblad and will offer more money than Florida can.
Caller
Yeah, I think that's it, man. I think he's gone.
Dan LeBatard
I think this works both ways. I wonder how you feel. Okay, where. All right, they just won back to back Stanley Cups. Is that a good thing for him to stay or is that a reason for him to leave? I can make the case on both sides. You want to stay because, man, we just won two Stanley Cups. It's amazing. Let's win a third one. This is so much fun. I love it here. You can't leave when you're on top. And then there's the other side of it where it's like, all right, I just won two Stanley Cups. I've. I've done that. I, I have that in my career. It's so rare for anyone to win. Ah, Stanley Cup. I've just won back to back Stanley Cups. Like, mission complete. The Panthers selected me number one overall in the draft. We just won two Stanley Cups. I need to make sure that I get that one last huge payday. I could see making a case for.
Stugotz
Both sides and it kind of feels like the Seth Jones move was kinda, oh, definitely like the replacement.
Dan LeBatard
I thought the writing was on the wall when they made the set.
Stugotz
Jones, it's impossible to keep. Like, they've done a really good job of keeping this core together. But look, along the way you've had to make tough decisions. Brandon Montour in a similar position, cashed in big time. I think Aaron Eblatt probably regrets it. He. Aaron Ekblatt has a big fat contract still out there in the free agent market. If he wants it, he's coming off of.
Dan LeBatard
You don't think the PD suspension ruined that at all?
Stugotz
No, he came back and he was, he was stellar.
Chris
Isn't Bill Zito's argument. Hey, we paid you a lot of money for some bad hockey time for you. We scratched your back when you were bad. Now take a little cut here.
Dan LeBatard
What about no state tax?
Stugotz
That. That's always working for you. I listened to a lot of Edmonton Oilers podcast after they lost because I'm really fascinated with this team. Like, I thought this team was better and they were, but not when they match up against the Panthers. Remember how fast Edmonton looked compared to Florida last year? And Florida is a slow team.
Dan LeBatard
Oh, remember if we were on four on four, it was a disaster.
Stugotz
It was a disaster. Every time that. That speed. Florida looked like the quicker team of the two. You have McDavid, who has blazing speed. You have Connor Brown, who, who straight line speed is a problem, but not really the. The test that they were on Florida last year and Florida did such a good job defending them. I just I unfortunate because he did so well. He acquitted himself nicely. This is a guy that's been a little frustrating in his time when he's battled through injuries. But the vibe, the general vibe that I got. Bennett stays. Marshawn wants to say. And Bill Zito has already said, like, I'll buy a Dairy Queen to keep this guy.
Dan LeBatard
If the Panthers only keep one of the three, That's. That's a. That's a bad off season. Yeah, it is bad offseason.
Chris
I mean, I trust Zito in that spot. Spot to, like, fill in those holes.
Dan LeBatard
But you have to keep two out of three.
Stugotz
I'm not crazy about this number that's being floated for Brad March on. And I know, like, look, he was awesome. It was a great trade. 5 mil a year for a dude that's 37. Like, if he gets that somewhere else, I don't think that we're shaking in our boots over Brad.
Dan LeBatard
What was the number that Boston offered him, which he turned down, and then they traded him? I think they're offering, like, three and a half, right?
Stugotz
I think I was in the neighborhood of four. It was in the neighborhood of four. Different tax situation over there. I think, like, I. I don't think we should be spending that kind of money, too. I'd rather that money go to Eckblad, who's a guy that's been here for about a dozen years.
Dan LeBatard
That's why I would rather go to Ekblad, too. I feel like if you're deciding, okay, I can only keep one of them. Do I spend the money on Ekblad? Do I spend the money on Marchand? I think when. When you have this culture that you preach about, you know, how special the team is and the character is. We love what Marshan did, but if it comes down between the two of them, you can't give Marchand the money that you would have given Ekblad that. That he would have. He would have stayed if you gave him like that. I think it sends a poor message to do that.
Chris
It seems like Zito can fill in, like, these defensemen, he just finds them.
Stugotz
We got. We got Seth Jones, like, natural replacement, big body.
Chris
Is it easier in Zito's mind? Okay, I keep Bennett, I keep Marshawn. That offense I can find. I'm not saying he can find another Eckbad, but.
Dan LeBatard
No, I think. I think it's the other way around.
Chris
Really.
Dan LeBatard
I think it's the other way around. Remember going into the season before they traded for Set Jones? What were we saying? Like, Whoa. They need another defense.
Chris
But he found a Nate Schmidt. You know what I mean? Like, I just feel like defensemen, there.
Dan LeBatard
Are no, I'm talking about middle of the season.
Stugotz
Like we need another blue liner. And that was a huge acquisition, an acquisition of consequence. And everybody would applaud and called Seth Jones one of the great deadline acquisitions of all time, were it not for a guy that finished second in the Con Smythe. Real quick, I want to change gears because yesterday there was a really cool game locally down here. If you're an Inter Miami fan, they were playing up in Atlanta, 3 o' clock game in the club World Cup. Prior to now, it was short lived because they were the first team from the Americas to beat a European team in a true competition. Like in a competitive match, they're friendlies. Chelsea has lost the New York Red Bulls in the past. But in terms of a competitive match, no team from north or South America had ever beaten a team from Europe. Inter Miami did so. And not only did they do so, they came back from a 10 hole. Really terrible penalty that they gave away in the first couple of minutes. Awful first half of football. They come back. Messi was brilliant in that second half. The entire team really was great. And then they turned to the dark arts and they salted that game away. Porto, the team that they beat. Let's talk about this team.
Dan LeBatard
That's a good team.
Stugotz
That's a real good team. I mean, third in the Portuguese league this year. Domestically, a down year for Porto. But this is a team that has two European championships to their name. It's a team that won the Champions League this century. So they're a team of prestige. No. 1. I mean, inter Miami entered that game a pretty hefty underdog and now they're all but through in the group to get out of this group, which is a very difficult one. They have a big time game. I bought tickets after Inter Miami came out.
Dan LeBatard
Well, they had a draw and a win so far, right?
Stugotz
Yes, they. They drew Ali. They. They beat Porto, which was probably their toughest competition in terms of prestige, reputation and top to bottom talent. Palmeiras is an incredible team out of Brazil. They're going to be tough. That's going to be an incredible atmosphere.
Dan LeBatard
Is that the last group play game?
Stugotz
It is. And Inter Miami are pretty much through. Unless Al Ahli beat Porto and beat them by a couple of goals and make up a goal differential this year. FIFA actually got it right. Credit to FIFA. They've done a couple of good things here. I like what the referees are doing in terms of talking to the crowd with the var made Anthony Taylor palatable for once in his life. But the first tiebreaker in the group this year is head to head and Inter Miami have a huge head to head victory over Porto. So in all likelihood, Inter Miami are going through the group. Now. It's a big deal to get through this group and be first because you want the better matchup. Now they cease being the only team from the Americas to beat a European team in a competitive fixture because the very next match, the reigning champions league winner PSG, lost to Botafogo, a team from Brazil, 10 at the Rose Bowl. An incredible upset, one of the great upsets in club soccer. But this Club World cup has been delivering and I can't even imagine the atmosphere that is going to Hard Rock Stadium on Monday because both these teams need it. They want to win the group. They're not. Neither team has really punched their ticket yet. It's in all likelihood they're both through. But this is going to be brilliant. And Messi, by the way, continues to deliver on expectations. This is a big deal to get out of this group. That is a major achievement. And I know most people will be like, win the Club World Cup. You're going up against like hell. Teams from Saudi Arabia have a half a billion dollar budget. This is a, this is a team. Like one of the dudes has two torn ACLs.
Dan LeBatard
Should I go to that on Monday? Is that gonna be a big game?
Stugotz
I think it's gonna be.
Dan LeBatard
That's a big game.
Stugotz
Don't look now, but I think that is going to be a big time game coming your way.
Caller
Did you say don't look now?
Stugotz
Yeah, I did. Time for a new game. Don't look now.
Dan LeBatard
I like this game.
Chris
Don't look now. Presented by Smirnoff.
Stugotz
You aren't at 11 with us, the.
Chris
World'S number one vodka.
Stugotz
Why does your voice please drink responsibly sound like that?
Caller
Guys, don't look at his voice. Don't worry about it. Yeah, don't worry about it. Focus on this. Right? Zaz, are you looking?
Dan LeBatard
No, of course not.
Caller
Okay, thank you. I can see. Even though I'm not looking. I can see. Okay, boys, big deal or not a big deal here. Don't look now. Don't listen. Listen.
Stugotz
That's. That's a different game.
Caller
No, it's not a different game. Not a different game. Shadour Sanders cited for speeding twice. Big deal. Not a big deal.
Stugotz
So what was he going one?
Caller
Yeah.
Stugotz
Yeah, that was a really funny tweet. Like, oh, what's a big deal? Last month, he. He was. He went like 140. He went like 245, 144.
Dan LeBatard
When he should have went 25.
Stugotz
25.
Dan LeBatard
That's funny.
Stugotz
Yeah. Do we read into that? Is this a maturity thing? Yeah. Do we?
Dan LeBatard
Yeah. It's incredibly poor judgment. I'll give you a good example. Zach Edie in May, it turned out, was doing the same thing, going over. He got arrested. Going over 100 in, like a 50, which was worse than Shadur. Nobody cares. Nobody even talked about it. Shedeur Sanders is Shadur Sanders, and he's trying to be the face of a franchise, the quarterback.
Stugotz
And he's had a good minicamp.
Chris
It's incredibly poor judge, but where's the line? Are we okay if he's going 88 miles an hour? Like, is this like a.
Don LeBatard
Yes.
Stugotz
Yes, I am.
Chris
So 23 miles an hour over is fine. But if you go 101, you are immature.
Dan LeBatard
I know for me, when I'm on the highway and the speedometer says 90, I start to get nervous.
Stugotz
Yeah. I go, oh, gotta slow this down.
Chris
That's when I feel like I'm cooking.
Stugotz
What am I?
Don LeBatard
My car shakes at that point. Honestly, like, my car doesn't allow me to speed.
Caller
You gotta change your tires.
Chris
That's not good. It should be able to go 90.
Don LeBatard
I keep it so that I can.
Stugotz
What?
Caller
Keep what to do?
Dan LeBatard
You're checking yourself.
Don LeBatard
Yeah. When my car not fully operational so that it prevents me from speeding, when.
Chris
It starts rattling, you're like, whoa, whoa.
Stugotz
It sounds like a man that lives his life a quarter mile at a time.
Caller
Yeah, that's true.
Don LeBatard
Sometimes my car can only go a.
Caller
Quarter mile, you know, put gas in it. Don't look now. Jair Alexander joins the Ravens, reunites with his old college buddy Lamar Jackson.
Chris
I wanted the Dolphins this year.
Stugotz
Is he still good?
Dan LeBatard
Not a big deal.
Stugotz
Is he still.
Caller
Not a big deal. Different game we're doing. It's a different.
Chris
Still a good player. That's a good player.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah.
Caller
Dominique City.
Chris
He'll play, like, four games a season.
Caller
But it's a good player. Good player.
Stugotz
I mean, that's a tough position to miss. That much time we've seen, guys.
Chris
Dolphins love injured cornerbacks. I can't believe they didn't sign them.
Caller
And lastly, don't look now, but some good news in the world of professional cheerleading, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. I don't know what they're called.
Chris
Cowgirls I think you nailed it.
Caller
Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders okay, they've got a the Cowgirls 400% raise for or the cowgirls big up to them Netflix documentary probably has something to do with it.
Chris
Now they get 200 bucks a game.
Stugotz
Tulsa for a rally, huh. On that day seemed intentional.

I've never stepped foot on that campus. If you told me right now your life depends on it, go to Santa Fe University and just take a picture.
Stugotz
Stugats.
Dan LeBatard
I would die. I don't know where it is.
Don LeBatard
This is the Dan Levatar show with the stug.
Stugotz
Hey, you guys remember Beat the Streak When I was in high school, in college, this was like a big deal. You would have to open up a desktop.
Don LeBatard
Yeah, yeah.
Stugotz
You. You had your computer that had, like, some sort of catastrophic disease because you were downloading stuff on Kazaa.
Don LeBatard
What was your record? It was presented by Scott. I think at the time, I was terrible. Still doing it.
Chris
I had friends that were good at it. I think once I got to like.
Stugotz
Eight, I got to a baker's dozen. One, eight.
Chris
I was bad.
Stugotz
Yeah.
Don LeBatard
I think I got up to 31 time.
Caller
Wow.
Don LeBatard
Yeah. I was starting to count the money, and then I was looking into, like, the fine print.
Chris
I was like, this is the hit one, right? They have a home run one, too.
Stugotz
You have to be Joe DiMaggio's hit streak. And it seems impossible. In fact, it is legitimately in the mlb, it's proven to be impossible for someone to break. What's the closest anyone ever got to that?
Chris
I would just go, Miguel Cabrera.
Dan LeBatard
Remember when Luis Castillo had the 35 in a row?
Stugotz
Dan was following him around the nation. Dan, did you know that this game is still around?
Dan LeBatard
No.
Stugotz
Beat the streak. Yeah, it's. It's still around. And I don't know if it's captivating a nation the way that it was, Jeremy.
Caller
Well, it should because of what happened earlier this week. So there was a. A user and Beat the streak named IO Tank.
Chris
What was he using?
Caller
They had. They had picked no 50 straight games with a hit. They had gotten to 50. Now no one has ever reached 57 straight picks. You win $5.6 million.
Stugotz
In the history of this game, in.
Caller
The history of this game, no one's ever. No one's done this no one's ever done it. No one's ever been able to do it. And 50 is damn close, right? So you're riding a 50 game hit streak going into Monday night. They picked Oakland. Well, not Oakland Athletics. The Athletics rookie Jacob Wilson against the Astros. And I'm going to set this up for you. So Wilson was 0 for 3 going into the eighth inning. There's a man on first with one out in this game. And if we can go to the video, here's what ends up happening with Jacob Wilson. So Jacob Wilson ends up hitting a. A shallow fly ball to right field. You'll ultimately see the first baseman, the second baseman, and the right fielder all collapsing toward it. You think this ball is going to be caught. Oh, but it lands in front of the right fielder. But runner was caught in no man's land.
Stugotz
Fielder's choice.
Caller
Fielder's choice. Hit streak snapped for IO tank. It ends at 50 after an 0 for 3 start. A bloop lands between three infielders. You feel incredible relief. And then the runner ends up in no man's land in the middle of first and second and ends up out at second base.
Don LeBatard
Game 50. Can't take Jacob Wilson.
Caller
Jacob Wilson, he's hitting.367. I'm pretty sure I saw you find.
Don LeBatard
Where Albert Pujols is playing. Playing somewhere in the Dominican Republic. You see if there's a glitch that you could pick him. You pick Albert Pujols, you go with the stars.
Caller
I'm gonna look, Zach, but I'm pretty sure Jacob Wilson was their most selected player.
Chris
Mark Ellis Scudero.
Stugotz
I love, I love those teams. How is this going in Sacramento with the, with the 80s?
Don LeBatard
I think they might stay there. No, they're going to Las Vegas.
Stugotz
No, they're, they're, they're. They're building it in Las Vegas. And that's an expansion real estate. But I haven't watched any of these A's games.
Don LeBatard
It's weird that we have two major league franchises playing in minor league stadiums at the moment.
Caller
It's really wild.
Stugotz
You saw it like the. The Rays are inching towards a. A sale. And also, no one's really talking about this. Jay Moore is the richest comedian in the history of the planet. Now, like, did Jeremy. You're looking at me like. I'm, like, I got two heads.
Caller
I don't even know what. I don't know what you're talking about.
Dan LeBatard
Tony says, married to J. Moore.
Don LeBatard
It's not that actual money.
Caller
Whoa, whoa, what?
Don LeBatard
Tony says what's not $10 billion?
Stugotz
No.
Caller
Well, it's a valuation of 10 billion.
Don LeBatard
It turns out they get like $15 each.
Caller
They got 4.8 billion, but a valuation of 10. So it's not all 10. It's 4.8.
Don LeBatard
And then you divide that, and by the time. I mean.
Caller
Exactly right.
Don LeBatard
If you have a valuation of $10 million, you end up, at the end of the day, getting one. Do you even want a billion dollars?
Caller
I have a correction. It was. It was low tank. That was a lowercase L, not a capital I.
Stugotz
I think he's the richest comedian in the history of being a comedian.
Dan LeBatard
You think he has more in Seinfeld?
Stugotz
Yeah. Do you know what does that mean? What does Jeannie get from this? At least a Billy. Do you think she clears a Billy?
Caller
Probably a little. He's got to split it up a couple times.
Stugotz
She doesn't play for the Panthers, so probably not a Billy.
Don LeBatard
Seinfeld's net worth is listed at 1.1 billion.
Stugotz
That's crazy. No way.
Dan LeBatard
He's got more than Jay Moore definitely does.
Stugotz
One point.
Don LeBatard
That's if Jay Moore doesn't sign a prenup, too.
Stugotz
Is. Is. Is Jerry Seinfeld really a billionaire? Is that. Is that genie?
Don LeBatard
I mean, who knows Seinfeld's so rich.
Caller
The way we cut up assets and what you have in cash.
Don LeBatard
What'd you do with a billion dollars as.
Dan LeBatard
Oh, man, I do so much sign.
Don LeBatard
Aaron, you still be doing game night? I would, yeah.
Dan LeBatard
What else am I doing?
Don LeBatard
That's what I'm asking. I don't know. I don't know.
Dan LeBatard
Sit around, do nothing.
Don LeBatard
Like, you know, Seinfeld comes out, he does his B movies every once in a while.
Dan LeBatard
He's still doing stand up. What are.
Don LeBatard
Why are you going to Daniel Seinfeld?
Stugotz
You know what?
Dan LeBatard
You see Seinfeld at the Dania Improv.
Don LeBatard
I could.
Stugotz
You know who I have a ton of respect for, Billy?
Chris
Who?
Stugotz
MySpace. Tom.
Don LeBatard
Because he just got out, became Randy Johnson. Photographer, goes around the world, just takes pictures.
Stugotz
Can't blame him for misinformation. Didn't try to sway any elections or anything like that. Just kind of, you know, I. I follow him on ig, like, every six months. He'll, like, post a beach somewhere. Just good vibes, chill always. He was in my top eight, so I feel like we go back a ways.
Caller
Better job, Tom. From MySpace or Fired Head. You know, college football coach, SEC football with the buyout.
Stugotz
Yeah. SEC football coach with a FD buyout is a pretty good job.
Caller
It's the best Gig.
Dan LeBatard
How often would you redecorate your MySpace page?
Stugotz
I was pretty serious.
Chris
Just the top eight. And my profile song.
Stugotz
I miss that, man.
Caller
To be honest, it taught you how.
Chris
To coat ranking your friends and hurting feelings.
Caller
HTML was. Was difficult. And then all of a sudden, you're like, oh, I get it now. I could just do this and then turn it blue or do that.
Don LeBatard
My background's teal now. How did I do that?
Chris
I'll never. For each year.
Stugotz
Huh?
Chris
I'll never forget the day that I found out I was Alex's sixth favorite friend. I thought I was top three.
Stugotz
I mean, I long for the days where that was the biggest issue with social media. I really do.
Caller
I missed my space. I didn't. I didn't get in on the wave. I was too young, so I was still.
Chris
You would have crushed it.
Caller
When my space was over, I was, I think, still in middle school.
Chris
What would your profile song be right now?
Stugotz
Ooh.
Caller
Right now.
Chris
Mine would be hold the Umbrella.
Caller
Yeah, that's it.
Chris
You guys want top five richest comedians according to celebrity net worth.
Stugotz
This is never right.
Don LeBatard
Sure.
Dan LeBatard
Well, can we try and fill in the five?
Don LeBatard
Okay.
Dan LeBatard
Okay. Seinfeld, obviously.
Chris
Seinfeld. He's on the board.
Dan LeBatard
I'm Throw Chris Rock in there.
Chris
Not on the board.
Caller
Kevin Hart.
Chris
He's on the board. Number four. Seinfeld's number one. Hart, number four. We have three more available spots.
Stugotz
Chappelle.
Chris
Chappelle, not on there.
Stugotz
Wow.
Chris
Mulaney, not on there. Think older.
Stugotz
Larry David.
Don LeBatard
Gallagher.
Chris
No. Larry David.
Stugotz
Mel Brooks.
Chris
No.
Dan LeBatard
Do you consider Larry David a comedian?
Chris
See, this is like, he did stand. I'll give you number five. I don't know how you guys can. Adam Sandler's number five.
Caller
Oh, yeah.
Don LeBatard
I don't understand this.
Dan LeBatard
Stand up.
Stugotz
He's.
Dan LeBatard
He's comedian number three.
Chris
Jay Leno.
Dan LeBatard
Yeah.
Chris
Number two, Ellen DeGeneres.
Dan LeBatard
What?
Stugotz
This is an old TV show.
Caller
Yeah.
Stugotz
All right. Someone ask artificial intelligence. This is too old. I don't think Jay Leno is still in the top five. Netflix is.
Chris
But just like, definitely made so much.
Dan LeBatard
Money doing tonight's show.
Caller
That's old money, though. That's old money.
Stugotz
Yeah, it is.
Caller
He wasted it.
Chris
This would be different if it's just money touring for being a comedian.
Dan LeBatard
He's got so many cars like Ellen.
Don LeBatard
And you don't fall down a hill.
Caller
Thank you. Thank you, Joe Rogan.
Chris
You're right. He's got to be on there.
Caller
This is 350just on this.
Dan LeBatard
I guess he's considered a comedian.
Stugotz
Joe Rogan.
Chris
That's what he is.
Stugotz
Yeah.
Chris
If you ask him.
Stugotz
That's.
Caller
That's how news radio.
Stugotz
Yeah, sure.
Don LeBatard
What are their net worths when you're saying top five?
Chris
It's. It said. It said Seinfeld was at 900,000 million.
Don LeBatard
Well, what is like fifth? Like carrot top is worth 75 million.
Chris
Just X.
Stugotz
That's what that says. I don't think he is.
Don LeBatard
I mean, I, I don't think carrots.
Stugotz
Are worth 75 million. And he might have like gotten that in contracts over the course of his. What he's been biggest for like 30 years. There's no way that guy's been good with his money.
Chris
What?
Stugotz
There's no way.
Caller
Why, you don't see him as a prudent, financial savvy guy?
Stugotz
No, I don't.
Dan LeBatard
You know, he's got like a good shyster accountant.
Stugotz
No, the, the props.
Caller
Oh, yeah.
Stugotz
Expensive props you got to pour right back in. Arts and crafts.
Don LeBatard
Repair them.
Chris
Prop repair. That's. We're not considering that fact.
Stugotz
Yeah, there's no way that guy has $75 million.
Don LeBatard
What about Paulie Shore? Where's he on the list?
Stugotz
Paulie Shore is a sneaky rich one because his family owned the Comedy Store.
Don LeBatard
Yeah. So does that count? Family money?
Dan LeBatard
Yeah, he inherited how much money he has.
Stugotz
But famously the Comedy Store, like would struggle like they were very much like a week to week enterprise. I don't, I don't know. Yeah, I think he actually got like a big time dramatic role.
Don LeBatard
Hold on a second. Julie Louis Dreyfus has a lot of family money, but we don't list her.
Chris
Yeah, but she's not a comedian.
Stugotz
She's done a number of.
Dan LeBatard
No, no, but being in a sitcom is not the same. Same as being a comedian.
Stugotz
Yeah, you have to, you have to stand up. You have to do gigs, you have to run gigs actively.
Don LeBatard
Yeah, you have to play actively doing.
Chris
Within the last year or two.
Dan LeBatard
I saw Sandler like two years ago.
Stugotz
He tore straight up two years.
Dan LeBatard
What is active like simultaneously as we're doing this show?
Stugotz
He had a Netflix special.
Caller
Go do stand with us.
Stugotz
I saw him on tour.
Don LeBatard
Netflix special is different. That's just. We're just cashing.
Stugotz
He did a very emotional number for Chris Farley.
Don LeBatard
Yeah, but that's one of those things where it's like, Adam, we to need you to do a stand up special and then we'll greenlight any of your dumb movies that you wanted. Halloween Town, whatever it's called.
Dan LeBatard
You tell me you're not gonna watch Happy Gilmore 2.
Don LeBatard
No, I am. It's gonna be bad bunnies, but it's not.
Chris
It's gonna be bad.
Don LeBatard
Not great art.
Stugotz
What, you think it's gonna be bad?
Chris
I do.
Don LeBatard
Yeah.
Chris
And I feel terrible disappointing you guys.
Don LeBatard
It's a nostalgia.
Stugotz
The Sandler vanity projects have, like, fell. Fallen, like, short of expectation.
Don LeBatard
I kind of like all his movies. I know they're not great, and they're not gonna be like, I like, all blended. Great movie, right?
Chris
Blended's good. Like, I like them. I like them, but they're never, like. I'm never leaving there.
Don LeBatard
Like, Dick Papadopoulos goods. Yeah.
Caller
He also made maybe the worst movie of all time in Jack and Jill. Like, maybe truly the worst movie in the history of movies. Tell us whether or not that's Punkachino.
Stugotz
I saw Al Pacino without his sunglasses. My God, pal. Ghastly.
Don LeBatard
He's aging.
Stugotz
Yeah. That guy's old. The one with the Pope.
Caller
I saw that picture. I was like, age. I was aging.
Chris
Aging. Billy.
Stugotz
Yeah. There's no S in there.
Chris
Not Asian.
Don LeBatard
Misunderstood.
Stugotz
No, he's Italian.
Don LeBatard
Italian.
Caller
Because he's Italian. Tom Haberstrough had a stat that sort of played into what we were talking about before with the ball movement of the Pacers versus the Thunder.
Dan LeBatard
What do you say?
Caller
He said the Pacers passed the ball 107 more times than Oklahoma City last night, which means for the series, The Pacers have 705 more passes than Oklahoma City in just six games, which means their ball movement is just on another level. But while I was. I was watching the game, I had a. I had a Bill Simmons take.
Chris
Is 25 more passes a quarter really that much?
Caller
Yeah.
What?
Chris
All right.
Stugotz
Yeah.
Caller
700 over six games is a massive.
Chris
See, that's what I mean. When you. When it's 700, I'm like, Whoa, a lot more passing. But then you break it down by.
Caller
Quarter, and it's just like, how many possessions do you get in a quarter?
Chris
If you have, like, how many passes per possession are we talking?
Caller
A ton?
Chris
Four passes, five passes. So that's really five extra possessions they're getting. It's a lot. I'm not saying. I'm just saying. Is it that crazy?
Dan LeBatard
I want everyone to touch the ball.
Stugotz
Yeah.
Caller
Hell, yeah.
Stugotz
I just.
Chris
Just trying to undercut.
Stugotz
What about the advantage in the second period?
Chris
Which way do they go? Which way were the Pacers going when those passes happen?
Stugotz
The other way.
Chris
The long way.
Caller
I think you're right.
Chris
We'll explain to Zaz later.
Stugotz
Yeah. Have you guys seen that tweet of the. The new Will Smith song where he's still making songs, he's still making music, and he's like, don't worry, everybody. I like.
Caller
Speaking of music, I love that was what the Bill Simmons take was that Tony I know, was really interested in. I was thinking.
Yeah, about that guy.
I was thinking about the Pacers offense, and I was thinking about watching the Pacers play and in the style of Bill Simmons. I thought watching the Indiana Pacers is like watching a great jazz band. And that constantly on the edge of whether or not it's constantly on the edge of whether or not everything is going to fall apart, whether they're going to stay on key, whether the solos are going to work, whether each piece is going to play off each other the right way. But ultimately, with all of these passes, with all of these steals, some. Somebody's always showing up in a passing lane. Somebody's always making the extra pass. Somebody's always cutting to the hoop. Hoop. It reminds me of a great jazz band.
Stugotz
They're a lot like a jazz band in that I don't watch them either.
Chris
I thought he was gonna say a jazz team, but of course it was a jazz band.
Stugotz
But there was this Twitter account that sped up. Like they said, the Will Smith song is so close to being.
Caller
I'm really glad I interrupted you.
Stugotz
You just. You just either slow it down several bpms or you speed it up several bpm.
Chris
But what they landed on is terrible.
Stugotz
