Now's a good time to remember where tequila's story truly began. In 1795, Cuervo invented tequila.

Well, I do know that to be true. But even during ad reads like Cuervo, I think he could lay out, especially for one of our great partners.
Ethan
Sweet, delicious Cuervo.

Roy Bellamy
Rose is making me. Sorry.
David
Rose is making you what?
Roy Bellamy
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Three, two, one. Rose is making me say this. The NHL is in the Upside Down. I don't know what that means. This is the Hockey Show. David Drogo. The Hockey news is to my left. Rose and Ethan are in there somewhere. It's like dark. I don't know. The light's red. I don't know what's going on over there. My name is Roy Bellamy. This is the Hockey show and we have a new YouTube page. It's not new anymore. Follow us at Hockey show at The Hockey Show DLS, we also have a tick tock the Hockey Show 7. And on x Instagram and threads at Hockey Show DLS, we have some breaking news coming from Winnipeg. The jets goaltender Conor Hellebuk underwent knee surgery. He will be out four to six weeks in. Injuries this season have been pretty overwhelming. As you guys know. We cover the Florida Panthers down here and little injury issues. Yeah, a little injury issues now, of course, that's why we talk about the Panthers most often. Because we covered them. We go to the game. So if you have a problem with that. Sorry. Anyway, they have seven players out now.
David
Let's see. Barkov, Kachuk. No sick. Dadovich, Kulikov, Schwint, Looster, Rhinen. I stopped counting. Is that seven or eight?
Ethan
I didn't count.
Roy Bellamy
You said no sick I did, yeah. Yeah. So yeah, that's about seven a lot.
Ethan
And most of them are out months at the least. Right. Like Gadget is out 3 months, Swin is out 2 to 3 months. No sick. We don't know anything about could Chuck's return we're starting to see could be around the corner. We all know about Barkov. Like Kulakov was out five months when he got injured. These are all long term injuries. These aren't week to week. Except I guess Lyon and his list literally listed as week to week. But these are, you know, long term injuries for some very important players for the Panthers right now.
Roy Bellamy
Well, I checked on Wednesday, the Maple Leafs, Penguins, they all have seven players out. Just like the Panthers do. Buffalo, New Jersey, Vancouver, they have six players out. It's just ridiculous. Like, it's like things are going on right now in the league that are getting these players hurt and out for a significant amount of time.
David
I'm surprised Rose hasn't chimed in with some stranger things reference as to why all these injuries are occurring.
Roy Bellamy
We're only three minutes in.
Rose
No, but the thing is, if you've seen these injuries, they haven't been even like games. One was in practice, the other one was grilling. The other one was a team dinner.
Ethan
Yeah, the Jack user.
Rose
I just think, yeah, we are on the upside down. We're getting there. So that's. The NHL is in chaos also.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, let's get into these injuries because Loose Ryan got hurt from burns at a propane tank in front of his barbecue.
David
I don't know if I've ever seen barbecue accident as a valid injury reason before. So that's a new one.
Roy Bellamy
This is why I don't use propane. I use wood. You know, I have a smoker.
David
So you don't even use charcoal.
Roy Bellamy
I do have a Weber, so I use charcoal, but I do not use propane at all.
Ethan
But you smoke your meats, you don't grill your meats.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, yeah, I can grill on the Weber and I can smoke on my Cabela's grill. So yeah, yeah, that's why I don't use propane. Because of stupid shit like that.
Ethan
Before we really dive into the Panthers, can we go back to Hellebuck for a second? This is a four to six week injury. First of all, did you either of you guys know that he was dealing with anything like this? Caught me completely off guard this morning. And then also four to six weeks, it's November 21st. He is the presumptive starting goaltender for the United States at this year's M.O. at this upcoming Milan Olympics. Starts February 6, 2026. Six weeks, guys. It's getting really close to that date, so.
Roy Bellamy
Nah, he's not coming back in six weeks. He's going to try to get back earlier.
David
Yeah, I would think that this is something that they're keeping in mind that he's very cognizant about keeping that. And he's having a pretty good season. Like the record is whatever, eight and six, but two and a half goals against 913 safer. I mean, he's Tunder Hellebuck. Yeah, he's the best the regular season, so you know he's going to perform well.
Roy Bellamy
So loose, Ryan. And with his burn injuries, he joins Jack Hughes on the. On the weird injury list on a weird injury front.
David
Weird injury injuries that occurred while preparing or eating food.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, from what I heard, he slipped and fell and I guess his hand landed on a wine glass is what I heard.
Ethan
That's Hughes. That's huge, Ryan.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, yeah, I said that. That's Jack Hughes. Yeah, I already said that. Lucerona got injured in a barbecue grill accident with his propane tank. So, yeah, Hughes cut his hand and he's gonna be out a significant amount of time. Eight weeks.
David
Lusterion's gonna show up looking like gold. Member the unfortunate barbecuing accident.
Ethan
Well, the other thing is Marie said he's going to be out a few weeks and then they're going to have to try and get the pads back on him and see if he's comfortable enough with the pads on.
David
Well, that tie into each other like it's just a matter of. Because, like, it's not like he can't move his body or it's a strength thing. It's just a matter of his skin being comfortable wearing anything, let alone hockey gear. So it's just going to be a.
Roy Bellamy
Bandages on top of what most likely will be a shirt which would end up having his pads over and then the jersey.
Ethan
So.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, that's a lot of layers right there. And those burns are gonna have to be protected.
David
Actually, from what I heard, I think it was lower body.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, Jesus Christ. That's even. Oh, no. Oh, no. A hopefully lower. Lower body.
Ethan
Yeah, I was gonna say.
David
Yeah, no, I think it's lower. Lower.
Roy Bellamy
I don't like, like a big toe.
David
Let's just calm down. Let's everybody take a breath. Let's just relax. Let's not put that out into the world.
Roy Bellamy
That's not. That's not good. Jim Parsons of the Hockey News wrote about some odd injuries over the course of the last. I would say 30, 40 years. And here's a couple of them. Joe Sackic, if you remember, broke three fingers and had tendon damage trying to fix a snowblower.
David
See, I've got nothing for that at all.
Roy Bellamy
Brent Sopel hurt his neck picking up a cracker.
Ethan
What?
Roy Bellamy
Yes, that happened.
Ethan
That's like Howard Bryant tearing both his hamstrings getting out of bed.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, just about. Yeah. Somewhat similar to that. Dustin Pinner had back spasms after leaning forward to eat pancakes.
David
See, the last two ring true in terms of a getting older and random things going wrong for everyday activities like that all kind of sounds a bit familiar.
Roy Bellamy
And this one is really, really weird. Here Glenn Healy cut through his hand with a knife and a pair of scissors, respectively, trying to fix a set of bagpipes from the First World War.
David
Wow, that is a hell of a mouthful.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah.
David
So he cut himself not once, but twice while trying to fix bagpipes.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah.
David
He might be the only person outside of Scotland to ever do that.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. I am not making that up. You can find the article Jim Parsons wrote about that.
David
That's spectacular. And of course, was a goalie.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, of course. I mean, because you guys are weird.
Ethan
Glenny Goolies are weird.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. I mean, we heard on the. On the big show. Who is it? It was Cooley for. Yeah, for the Flames. Yeah. On how. How in his mind, he accepts. What was it? Losing? Yeah, he accepts losing. And the Flames are dead last.
Ethan
They're bad. They stink.
Roy Bellamy
And it's not even because of the goaltending. It's because they can't score the second worst in the league. And goals.
David
Four. Yeah. What was it that he's like? Nothing matters. We're all going to die.
Ethan
The funny thing about the Flames is they're sixth in the league, right behind the Panthers in expected goals percentage. How they just don't score. Like, they're good defensively. They're sound defensively. And Dustin Wolf, while struggling, not as good this year as last year. Like, it's just crazy. What a weird team.
David
There's only one team in the league that has scored less goals than the Calgary Flames. Can you guess which one it is?
Ethan
I think I know.
Rose
Noah Phillips.
Roy Bellamy
Okay.
David
It's not your Rip the Ice player. It's not? No.
Ethan
Is it the Rangers?
David
It is not the Rangers. It is a Western Conference team.
Roy Bellamy
The Oilers.
David
It is not the Oilers.
Adnan Virkey
It's not the Oilers.
David
The Oilers have actually scored a lot of goals this year. They've given up way more, but they've actually scored a lot of goals this year. No, the answer to the question is the Nashville Predators. They've scored two less goals in two less games than the Calgary Flames.
Roy Bellamy
I want to get into this no or Phillip situation because what we're doing lately is we are taking packs of cards. Packs of upper deck cards.
David
Yes. I have a box in my bag out in the bullpen, actually.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, you do. And we're opening them up. It's a pack of four cards and we're taking at least one of those cards and one of those players depending on how they do during the week. There's a point system. Whoever has the most points out of me. Rosie and David ends up being the winner for that week and a collective over the season. So right now, Rosie, back to back weeks of being dead last currently with Noah Phillip, who is a rookie, and Philippe Forsberg last week has brought out the rear.
David
That's because Rose built into her game the ability for us to choose each other's cards if we spin and get a certain spot. So Rose kind of stubbed herself in the toe.
Rose
Is one lucky guy.
David
Yeah. Roy's gotten very fortunate.
Rose
17 points and I just have three.
Ethan
Stopped herself in the toe.
David
Yeah, that was.
Ethan
That's a new one.
David
Yeah.
Roy Bellamy
I forgot who I had last week.
David
Last week you had freaking niches.
Roy Bellamy
Oh.
Ethan
Oh, that's a good guy to have right now.
Rose
And now he has. He could have. Or Macron Celebrini or another.
Adnan Virkey
Good job.
Roy Bellamy
Because it was a specialty card.
David
It was a jersey card.
Roy Bellamy
God, how good is this jersey?
Ethan
How good are the Colorado Avalanche? I was watching them last night. They're amazing to watch. Just play beautiful hockey.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. Macklin Celebrini, a hat trick. The night after I picked him, I was like, oh, no. But automatic six points for the card that I picked, which was Panarin. And Rosie is not happy. Sorry, Rosie.
Rose
No, I'm not. Bye.
David
I love how as you were breaking down the game, I looked over at Rose and she was like. The expression on her face was like, don't bleep this up, Roy. This is my baby.
Adnan Virkey
You're.
David
You're sending it out to the. Like, she. The look on her face was. I've never seen her, like, so, like, laser focused on you before.
Roy Bellamy
She created the game.
Rose
No. You know why I'm laser focused? Because he's so lucky. He's like, I don't want to play because I don't want to play. That's the thing when you don't want to play and you don't take seriously the game. Everything goes well. That's why I am great at other games at Katana and all of that, because I'm like, I don't care about the games, but this one, I do care. So it's just.
Roy Bellamy
Maybe you care too much.
David
You got to send in your redemption card, by the way. Don't forget to do that.
Rose
Oh, I already did.
David
You already sent it? I love it. You already sent it in.
Rose
Yeah, but it's a Savers, so.
David
But who cares?
Roy Bellamy
Let's send you back a card. It'll be fine. Don't worry.
David
Who's. Who's Buffalo's big rookie this year? They have nobody.
Ethan
No one.
Roy Bellamy
No one. I want to talk about the. I want to talk about New York Rangers captain J.T. miller and what he did the night before. Again, he's their captain. Right. He's also the guy who divided the Canucks locker room with his beef with Elias Petterson, the forward, which led him to be traded back to the Rangers in the first place. Now look at this play here. He turned the puck over, gave kind of gave up on the play, and then just skated away. That led to a goal for the Golden Knights. They went up to nothing. They won three to two.
David
That's really bad. I mean, we're looking at this through Panthers colored lenses. Like, we've been watching Paul Maurice build the Florida Panthers into a team that nobody would even think about doing something like that. So to see somebody of his caliber give up on a play like that and it immediately leading to a goal like, that's disturbing.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, he's one of those loud, fiery, well, talk at you type of leaders. He's not one of those leaders by example, clearly, players like Alexander Barkov is. But, I mean, that's the type of play that Mike Sullivan really should sit him down and read on. The riot act.
Ethan
I was listening to what Chaos the other day, and they had Johnny Lads on the show, and he was basically saying that J.T. miller is the kind of guy, or there was a quote that came out that J.T. miller is the kind of guy that when things are going really good, he makes everything go that little bit better. And when things are going really bad, he kind of drags everything down and makes things go a lot worse. So it's kind of an interesting choice as captain, even though he is that fiery guy. And they kind of need that fiery guy in the New York locker room. I think, like, and there are signs like he was One of the guys that fought at the Four nations, right, with the Tkachuk brothers, he was the third guy that fought. So you see that he elevates. He rises to that occasion and brings that kind of energy. But then you see that kind of effort there. And to have that out of your captain, that's just unacceptable. And especially in a season where the Rangers are struggling and all the things that have been surrounding them for the last two or three years or so, that's a.
Roy Bellamy
That's a strip the Sea situation, man. Like, you got Trocheck on this team, too, so he can easily be a captain.
David
Meet the Zabandajad or Temi Panarin.
Rose
There.
David
There are options. Adam Fox, he's a great guy.
Ethan
Yeah, he is.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah.
David
Like, I. But no, like, to Ethan's point, you shouldn't be asking these questions of the guy wearing the seat. Like, I don't know if we've ever had a conversation like this about a captain. So that is jarring me. Like, that in and of itself is a little weird. And it's just. It sucks for the Rangers because we all talked about the Rangers as a team. We thought they were gonna kind of step back into relevancy this year after a down year. So, yeah, rough start, man.
Ethan
That's weird year for them. Like, they're. They're playing well. Their underlying numbers are great, but they just can't get any goals. And right now, I didn't think this was the case, but it is. They're in last place in the Metropolitan Division. Now. We all know the east is very scrunched up right now, and that doesn't really mean a lot. They're only, like, a point or two out of a playoff spot, but, man, it's been a weird year. The vibes have been weird there for two years now, and it's continuing this year.
Roy Bellamy
Let's talk about game etiquette for fans here. As you know. Again, David and I are in the press box.
David
I love that you put this in the show. I love this.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, we're there for home games for the Panthers and for the past, I would say, three seasons, as you just heard. There's a fan in a section to, I would believe, the right of the press box who is whistling. It's just about that Annoying.
David
No, it's worse than that.
Roy Bellamy
No, it actually is worse than that because it's louder than what she's doing.
David
And there's no, like, there's no organization to the whistling. This guy just randomly interjects his whistles at random times in the game. And I probably wouldn't notice as much if you didn't loathe it so much.
Roy Bellamy
I swear to God, like, I'm in the press box, I'm sitting next to you and I just want to scream, shut the up.
David
Yeah.
Roy Bellamy
And that would get me that. And that would get me kicked out of press box, most likely. But, yeah, I really want to say that to this guy. That is just poor form.
David
Now, I hope this guy's not listening because we're. This guy is listening because we're going to get it way worse.
Ethan
No, I hope this guy is listening.
Roy Bellamy
I hope he is listening.
Ethan
This is bad behavior, so.
Roy Bellamy
Yes. So Ethan says that's bad behavior. What about you and Rosie? Is this bad behavior for a fan?
David
I think I'm kind of wishy washy on it because, like, on one hand, I think, like, going to a game and cheering and whistling and, you know, that kind of thing is part of it. On the other hand, if I was sitting in that man's section, as a seasoned ticket holder, I'd want to, like, blow my brains out. So it's incredibly annoying hearing it from a few sections away. I can't imagine sitting on top of it. So, yeah, I don't know, man.
Rose
You're not going to like my answer, but the man paid for his tickets. He's cheering.
Ethan
That's a good point.
Rose
Let him.
Adnan Virkey
That's kind of where it's loud.
Rose
Everybody's loud.
Roy Bellamy
That might be your point, but that's disturbing the fans and disturbing.
Rose
Why? If it's.
Ethan
I do love Roy using our show to air his grievances. Just be like, you suck. Your behavior sucks. I hope you're listening. I think that's a great. This is a great forum.
David
You're not talking.
Ethan
Let's talk about fans behaving poorly.
Roy Bellamy
Let's know. Let's talk about fans behaving poorly while watching Puck. How about that? How about that?
David
Fans need to be watching out because if they're not on their best behavior at a Panther game, they're going to hear about it.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. So, yeah, I'm not happy with this guy and I believe he needs to stop. Please.
David
We'll see.
Roy Bellamy
Stop.
David
We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Roy Bellamy
It's time for Puck luck. It's sponsored by DraftKings. DraftKings. The Crown is yours. Dave, what is our Paul A. This week?
David
All right, tonight we are going to Buffalo first for the Blackhawks in Buffalo. First, we're going to take the Blackhawks in the money line. Because we're getting great value. Chicago will be playing a second end of a back to back. However, it's the first time all season that they've played a back to back. Chicago is also above.500 road team and they've won three straight on the road. And Buffalo is Buffalo. The only time they win is when we bet against them. And we're going to end that streak today. Also in that game, we're taking Connor Bedard over three and a half shots on goal. He, he's hit this number in seven of nine games. And Buffalo allows the most shots on goal in the NHL. And we're going to wrap up our parlay with Adrian Kempe in Los Angeles. He's hit his over three and a half shots total six games in a row. And Boston allows the ninth most shots on goal in the league. And this parlay, this three leg little parlay will give you odds of 10 39. We're going to make some good money tonight, Roy.
Roy Bellamy
All right. It is time for the start of the week.
Adnan Virkey
The hockey.
Ethan
Hey, guys, I was just talking to you.
Roy Bellamy
I know.
Ethan
But hey, it's time for the hockey stat of the week, guys. Somebody we need to be talking about more. Dave, you're gonna love this. Yaroslav Askarov out in San Jose. He had a very rough month of October. Really, really rough. But he has turned it on in November so far. Guys, guys. He's got a nice. Guys, guys, guys. I don't know what that was.
David
He's got.
Ethan
He's got a 952 in November. He's got a 1, 5, 3 goals allowed average in November.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, what was the safe percentage again in November?
Ethan
952.
David
That's a lot.
Ethan
He's 11th in the NHL now with 7.6 goals saved above expected. He's got 10.5 of those in his last 10, 10 games, which is fourth in the NHL over that Spanish. He's done all of this without pitching a single shutout. He's not allowed more than three goals in the month of November. And that occurred last night in the Sharks 4, 3 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The guy's been phenomenal. A lot of people have been saying he is the next big thing in goaltending in the NHL and he is turning it on in November and proving.
David
That I love the young goalie movement we're getting this year. Between Ascarov, Spencer Knight. Walstedt in Minnesota is playing spectacular. The young goalies are stepping up.
Adnan Virkey
Roy.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. All right. It's time For Rosa and Un minuto. Hit it, Rosie.
Rose
Let's. Let's hit this.
Roy Bellamy
Let's hit it. Yeah, let's hit that. Go ahead. Go and hit it. Hit that.
Rose
Okay, everybody.
Roy Bellamy
So.
Rose
Temporaries.
Roy Bellamy
Stranger Things.
David
Was that all about Stranger Things? Yes, I heard Eggos. I heard Upside Down. Like I'm getting all these Stranger Things references. And then the room started changing.
Rose
Yes.
Roy Bellamy
All right. That was Rosa. Enuminuto. Thank you, Rosie. And now it is time for Rosie and abandoned. Hit it, Rosie.
Rose
Hit it, Rosie. Okay, everybody. Hello. Warning, kids. This minute has spoilers. So if you haven't seen Stranger Things run. Three, two, one. Okay, you did not run. You stay at your own risk.
Roy Bellamy
Where am I gonna go?
Rose
Today is no hockey. Because Stranger Things come back on November 26th. And I'm just.
Roy Bellamy
Woohoo.
David
Five days.
Rose
Alright, express recap. Will Byers disappears because Demogroker drags him into the Upside Down. His mom Joyce talks to the Christmas lights. Like today we're WhatsApp. And his friends Mike, Dustin and Lucas find in love. And the psychic girl who survives exclusive with Eggo Waffles. A queen. Season two, the Mind Flyer shows up. Will gets pretty possessed like a broken WI FI router. And the Upside down starts opening doors in absolutely every anywhere. Season three, the Russians build a secret base in the mall. Why is it always a mall? I don't understand. But the mall explodes and we cry over Hopper. But he did not die. He was in Severia. Season four, Vegna arrives. The most traumatized villain on earth. Max almost dies. Eddie does die. And the Upside down invades Hawkins like the hell level terminates. And now, after years, we're getting the final season. And I want to watch it. But I'm not ready if they kill Steve. So don't kill Steve. Duffer brothers. All right. I'll go kill you, Ambrose. This was one minute of Stranger Things. See you in the Upside down case.
Roy Bellamy
All right, I haven't seen a single episode of this show.
David
But you should have been paying attention.
Roy Bellamy
Paying attention to what? I don't understand what she's saying.
Rose
I give you a.
Roy Bellamy
It's time for wins and fails of the week.
David
Yes.
Roy Bellamy
Presented by Jagermeister. Serve it cold or don't serve it at all. Jagermeister. Damn, that's cold. For more visit jagermeister.com Drink responsibly. David, what's your win?
David
My win? We're going junior hockey this week. We're going to the British Columbia Hockey League. The Spruce Grove Saints. They have a mascot named Chucky. The angel. And his new bit this season is if there's an opposing player in the penalty box during the TV timeout, he skates out onto the ice, stands right outside the door and stares them the hell down.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, wow. Shame.
David
He's done it a few times this season. He did it the other night when they beat the Vernon Vipers 54 in overtime. And look at him. He looks like an emoji from the back with a little halo over him. He's at the wings. I almost want to take a penalty just to experience this. I don't know. I love it. I saw it. I love it. I think it's one of the coolest things a mascot could do well.
Roy Bellamy
Take a safe penalty, delay a game, flip it over glass.
David
No, I'm taking someone out.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, wow. Okay, never mind then.
David
Two minutes for severe interference.
Roy Bellamy
My win of the week are the Winter Classic uniforms. The Rangers and Panthers have unveiled their new the new unis for the Winter Classic. The Rangers are going with a road version of their centennial uniforms. White jersey that says New York on a diagonal. Red pants, blue and red stripes on the sleeves, bottom of the jersey and the socks. The Florida Panthers have brought back an updated version of the Leaping Panther. It's not like the current alternate that they have in the locker room, as you've seen, obviously. It's more of an updated version of the old one. Gold pants, gold gloves, gold stripes on the sleeves and socks. Both teams will have special patches. And I think the Panthers should have gone with the alternate version of the Leap and Panther in the locker room.
David
But they said they wanted to make it look like it was made in like the. The twenties, thirties. Like the whole uniform is like a throwback.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah. Because they do have a patch. They have a sun patch.
David
Yeah.
Roy Bellamy
From. What was it, the Tropical Hockey League.
David
Back in the south beach somethings.
Rose
It's.
David
It's pretty cool how they're like tapping into hockey that we didn't even know existed literally 100 years ago.
Ethan
I think the coaches jacket, I think the reimagining is really cool. Like I. Yeah, it would have been cool to just go with the original Leaping Panther logo and for nostalgia and everything. But the reimagining and kind of trying to make it. What would this look like if the Panthers were a team in the 1920s? I think is really cool.
Roy Bellamy
I think if the Panthers go and have a stadium series game in February because they can't have it in January because of college football, then they should do something similar to that, I say something.
Rose
I don't know if it's unpopular or popular, but I like the Rangers one better.
David
Yeah, Better.
Ethan
Rangers ones are really nice.
Roy Bellamy
It's clean. It's very clean.
Rose
Yeah. We look like bees. The Panthers.
Roy Bellamy
We look like bees.
Rose
Yeah. The. The socks in the Panthers ones.
David
Yeah. The only thing I don't like is the tan pants. They feel very Boca Raton. Elderly.
Rose
Gold.
David
No, they're supposed to be leather.
Roy Bellamy
Yes, Gold. Leather. Well, and that's the color, but yes. I mean, that's color.
David
I like him.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. Ethan.
Ethan
My win of the week comes from last night's game between the Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils. It was the only goal scored in last night's game, and it was an absolute beauty from our guy, Sam Reinhart. Look how he goes near post here. This kind of reminded me of his winning of his goal in game six of the Stanley Cup Final last year where he went around Evan Bouchard. He was so good last night. Ran the game every time he was on the ice, in complete control on every shift. And this goal is just beautiful. Up over the near shoulder of Jake Allen. Absolute gorgeous. Put that one in the highlight reel. Rhino is having a great year. Been probably the best player.
Roy Bellamy
Keep in mind, that move that led to that under the stick of the defenseman, got back possession, was able to go bar down on Jake Allen. Rosie, what's your win?
David
Rosie's chirping me. You guys don't even hear it. She's chirping me because I hear it.
Ethan
I hear it.
Roy Bellamy
I'm looking right.
David
I should have had Sam Reinhart for. For our card game this week for Rip the Ice, and you guys robbed me of it. I would have had a game winning goal there.
Roy Bellamy
A goal.
David
And I didn't even think about it. Rhodes is in my ear. Like, you know, you would have had Sam Reinhart. Game winning goal.
Roy Bellamy
Unbelievable.
Rose
Dude, I'm gonna. I want you guys to guess what my win is.
Roy Bellamy
Stranger. Stranger Things. Yeah.
Rose
There we go. Put it up. And then Stranger things is coming. September 26th.
David
Rose is Tiny Bar 11.
Rose
Yeah. Thank you very much.
Roy Bellamy
I mean, you know, you talked about it on your minute twice, mind you, that's why.
Rose
That's why I was like, I'm gonna give you a quiz that it's easy.
Roy Bellamy
Okay, There we go.
David
Is it a Stranger Things? What? The puck this week? Please tell me.
Rose
No.
Roy Bellamy
Yes.
Sponsor Announcer
Oh, God.
David
Of course it is.
Roy Bellamy
God damn it. All right, Dave, what's your feel?
David
My fail is we're going to Buffalo. Rob Ray, Sabres Color commentator The Sabres hosted the Edmonton Oilers this week and beat them down, scored five goals on Edmonton. And when this. When the Oilers pulled Stuart's dinner for an extra attacker in hopes of trying to come back in this game, Rob Ray made a nice little comment that I think we all kind of snickered at.
Adnan Virkey
Sorry, Rob.
Roy Bellamy
Go ahead.
Adnan Virkey
Yeah. Empty net for Edmonton. Yeah, it has been most of the night, so it's a difference. But Ellis has been fantastic. Ouch, baby. Ouch.
Ethan
Rob Ray, he's kind of got a point.
David
Pulling no punches. Yeah, for sure. It's just to hear it, you know, kind of blasted out like that. And of all the teams to be talking about anybody else, the Sabres.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, but, you know, and who's going to trip back at him?
David
An empty net.
Roy Bellamy
My winner of the week is within the last 11 games. I'm sorry. My failure of the week. Within the last 11 games for the Blackhawks, Connor Bedard has scored two hat tricks.
Rose
Jesus.
Roy Bellamy
Keep in mind, those are the only two hat tricks of his career. Bedard scored his second career hat trick on Tuesday. The fail in this situation didn't come from the Flames. It came from this Blackhawks fan who took his phone out to film himself throw his cap on the ice, and all he was able to do was throw the cap and completely miss everything. He ended up hitting the glass.
David
Nice.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. That was a week.
David
He was standing like the fourth row. How do you miss the ice?
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't be as. Yeah, exactly. From the fifth row.
Adnan Virkey
That's.
David
That's bad.
Roy Bellamy
And it wouldn't be. It wouldn't be as bad as if he didn't have the phone out.
David
Well, that's the thing. He's documenting his fail for everybody to see.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, and so did local tv, because that was on the Blackhawks broadcast.
David
Got to be careful.
Roy Bellamy
Ethan, what's your fail?
Ethan
You know who else documented their fail this week was Bill Simmons. He went on his show this week and claimed that the Columbus Blue Jackets are, quote, the most irrelevant franchise in professional sports. Now, listen, you might have an argument, but the problem I have here in the fail of the week is he said, quote, I have never had a conversation in my life about the Columbus Blue Jackets. My brother. So why is my brother. You've never sat down and talked with your buddies about Zach Warensky. I feel terrible for you. That must be a miserable existence.
Roy Bellamy
Well, hold on, hold on, hold on. Because I heard what he said.
Ethan
All I do is talk about Zach Warrenski with the fellas.
Roy Bellamy
I heard what he said he got half of his information wrong.
Commercial Narrator
He did.
David
He did.
Ethan
They had been past the second past the first round of the playoffs before. He said something about the losing to the Panthers in 2019. They lost to the Lightning in 2019. He had a lot of it wrong. He might have an argument again. But again, Bill, look at me. You've never talked about Zach Wowenski with your boys before. Sit down with your boys and talk about Zach Warrenski. It's a great experience. He's a great player. You should talk about him more. We should all talk about Zach Wierinsky more. He's gonna be a huge part of Team USA coming up in Milan.
Roy Bellamy
Wrong. Because he used AI. There it is.
Ethan
You're probably right about that.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. Rosie, what is your fail?
Rose
I'm sorry, but I'm gonna repeat this. It's Noah Phillip. Thank you.
David
Okay, nice.
Roy Bellamy
If you are watching on DraftKings Network, coming up next, we have Adnan Virginia from Prime Canada's Monday night Hockey. We are going to talk about movies. That's coming your things and and apparently Stranger Things. I don't know if he's ever watched.
Ethan
I like Stranger Things. I think we've asked him about this before. That's right.
Roy Bellamy
Well, Rose is in for disappointment. You can watch that on YouTube and listen to the audio podcast. And Nan Burke is coming up next.

Folks, feel your game day with the unbeatable crunch of Hampton Farms, the official peanut of bowl season. Perfect for sharing with friends, tailgating outside the stadium or cheering from the couch. Grab a bag from the produce aisle of your local grocery store and savor the game one peanut at a time. Let's get nutty.
Roy Bellamy
It is time for our monthly check in with Adnan Virkey is the studio host for Prime Monday night Hockey. Aunt Nan, where were you this week and where are you going next week?
Adnan Virkey
Roy, great to always see you. And David and Ethan and Rose, of course. I was in Columbus, which I'd never been before and it's always struck me as odd. Cleveland, which is a great sports city, not the best city of all, but a great sports city, has every major pro team that does not have hockey. The hockey team in Ohio like that. We'll get that in Columbus. So first time ever in Columbus. To be honest, I work my travel schedule on my beloved Philadelphia Eagles. So five o' clock fight to Columbus Sunday to watch Eagles line Sunday football. We win in a very boring game. Great defensive battle next morning. Morning skate Dr. Marty St. Louis Habs were in town and then I thought of Explore Columbus a little bit. I got to be honest, fellas. I think if I was there for an Ohio State game in, like, you know, late September, something, it's better. I just kind of wandered around. It was like, oh, it's such a great city. Like, I really didn't see much of Columbus here in money. It kind of just felt like Ohio. I would still run ahead of Cincinnati, if we're being honest. But as far as the game, the Cannon was awesome. And for years, I'd not known. And so why are they called the Blue Jackets? And for those who don't know, because I didn't know after the fact, the. That was the name of the Jackets that were in the Civil War. Exactly. So that's why they're called Blue Jackets. And the Cannon is unbelievable. I went to go see the Cannon, and everyone kept warning me this. It's a lot louder than you think. And I asked. The guy said, let's be honest, why is it so loud? Like, between us? He was like, well, there's a firework inside. Yeah. And he goes, we pump in some noise. Okay. Exactly.
Ethan
So really, Breaking news.
Adnan Virkey
Breaking news. There is a firework inside the Cannon, but they also have noise being pumped up.
David
So that was the game, Adnan, that the Canadians goalie, Jacob Dobit, he scared the bleep out of him when the Cannon went off before the game. Right?
Adnan Virkey
Yeah, you nailed it, because that's the big thing, David. I was like, well, I just hope they score a lot of goals. Well, don't worry. You'll get it in the warmup, and it will jolt players in it. That's exactly what happened. Holy crap. If you're not ready for it, it is loud. There's no question about it. A great game. Habs are down 3:1, tied it up, and then lost it in the shootout. Merchenko in the shootout, by the way, is unbelievable. Jody Shelley is a great. Watch this guy because he is so borderline arrogant in the shootout. It's amazing. And of course, he scored on. Dovish, but fun game, good atmosphere. I just feel, overall, fellas, if I said to you a hockey franchise that feels relatively irrelevant, and I believe Bill Simmons was going on this rant the other day. The blue jackets, in 25 years of history, have won playoff series. That's almost tough to comprehend. Like you would have thought at one point, you could have got to a conference finals. Like, no. 1 playoff series victory in 25 years.
David
Bob against the Lightning a few years ago. That was what got him a big contract in Florida.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. What Bill Simmons thought was the Florida Panthers. Yeah.
David
Oh God. Side note, what the hell happened to Montreal? They've lost eight of nine.
Ethan
All they do is play overtime games and now they're just losing those overtime games instead of winning them.
Adnan Virkey
And Marty's one of my favorites. Asked Martin St. Louis about it because in the previous game they'd had two five threes and didn't score. And I said to Marty, what are you going to do next time? He's like, pull the goalie.
David
They've given up five, seven and eight goals in three of their last five games. And they're all losses.
Adnan Virkey
Like, yeah, Montembo, not good. Dovish had been really good. And collectively defensive they are not good. But even Marty said to us, he goes, honestly, you just gotta get one point at a time. Like I saw him after the game and he was in a relatively good mood because they're like, they were down three, one scored twice. @ least they got a point. That's the way hockey is now, right fellas? It's not about the win. Let me just try to get a point the regulation.
David
Let's not talk about the loser point.
Adnan Virkey
Exactly. The loser point.
Roy Bellamy
Where are you going this next week? Atnan?
Adnan Virkey
Off to la, Roy. One of my favorite cities, of course. Love Los Angeles. Go check out 75 and sunny and the beach. And I've never seen a hockey game at Staples. I've been to see a couple acres. Give me a far but stake at the JW Marriott right there next to the arena. It's a gorgeous hotel. When I used to do Sports Center LA with the great Neil Everett or Stan Verrett, they would put us up in that hotel. So I can't wait, man. Off to Staples. Although Roy, I did not realize the Kings don't practice at Staples.
David
They're in El Segundo.
Adnan Virkey
Right, David? That's annoying. So Monday morning we're going to have to. How far else are you going to.
David
It's like 20, 25 minutes. The last time I was out there, I actually stayed at a hotel next to the practice rink.
Adnan Virkey
Okay.
David
So yeah, the commute downtown wasn't that great, but it's only like 20, 25 minutes. Not that bad.
Adnan Virkey
Okay, so we'll get out there and see Jim Hiller in the morning.
David
And it's a cool practice ring too. It's like multi levels. It's. Do a little exploring.
Adnan Virkey
Okay, I look forward to it. The Kings, by the way, as you guys know, last year were unbelievable at home. This year they played the fewest home games and They've been terrible. One, four and two on home ice. They're almost as bad as the Rangers on home ice. So we'll see what happens to the Ottawa Centers are in town on Monday.
Roy Bellamy
We mentioned the one of classic uniforms with the Rangers and the Panthers. I believe Personally it's a 7 out of 10 for each of them respectively. What say you at then?
Adnan Virkey
You know, you. I think around 7 probably sounds about fair. Like, I think most times people either have Roy a jarring reaction. That's a true love it or hate it, but I just think it's decent, you know, I think in today's world, I'm the old guy who just likes, you know, the classic Blackhawks jersey or the Red Wings jersey. There's a third jersey alternate this and that. But Winter classic, I get it's gonna be different. I think the fact it's not too flashy, not too overdone, I think. I think it's decent. I'm with you. I give it a 7.
Roy Bellamy
There's an update on the jersey front. By the way, you brought up the Blackhawks. They are bringing back the black jerseys mid-90s.
Ethan
These are good.
David
The Eric Dazz.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah.
Adnan Virkey
That is great. Poll by David. Eric Daze.
David
That was Daze. Alfred Jovinosti. That was the rookies in 96.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah. The Tony Amantis.
David
Yes.
Adnan Virkey
Jeremy Ronick. Keep going. Great Blackhawks. The past of Blackhawks. By the way, good start. Have a conversation.
Ethan
I love watching them. I love watching them. Adnan. I watched them the other night. I was like dialed into their game against. I think they were playing Calgary and like, Calgary in Chicago, whatever. But oh, my God, they're fun to watch, man. Especially that Bedard. He's amazing.
David
So, yeah.
Adnan Virkey
Interesting what happened. Bedard had a great rookie season. Sorry to cut you off, David. Last year he regressed. We went and did a game in Chicago and there was whispers around, like, is Bedard really the real deal? Like, was it too much too soon? And this year he's come like a house on fire. Like, between him and celebrating. Like, we always talk about how the game is in good hands with great young players and how many years has it been? Crosby and Ovechkin who are still going and still performing. But now, like, you can make a case, like Macklin celebrating, Connor Bernard, two great young guns celebrating is on pace for like 130 points this year and Bedard could score 50. It's crazy, man.
David
It's fun. We were just talking about the youth movement among goaltenders and it's. It's Kind of all across the board. It's. It's pretty cool. Adnan, now you're going to hate me for this question. As a Canadian man, I imagine.
Adnan Virkey
Yeah.
David
But right now there's only one Canadian team in a playoff spot and I know the standings are really tightly packed and everything, but major disappointments, I would think, between Vancouver, Edmonton, obviously Calgary, Montreal. We just talked about. They've kind of fallen off the side of a cliff lately. Which Canadian team, when all is said and done, is going to give your nation its best chance at a Stanley cup this year?
Adnan Virkey
Well, it's certainly not Calgary. Let's go through each one. They've been terrible. I love Ryan Husky, he's a great guy. Last year they were like that classic team with not much offensive punch aside from Nasam Kadri. Dustin Wolf, defense. Yeah, and Wolf is the guy who carried them right as a rookie. It's like, oh, he's in the caller conversation. And this year it's like, well, even Dustin Wolf can't help this team. They're awful tank for McKenna. Away we go. The Oilers, I still think are the answer honestly, David, because they have that collective tout and they're off to a slow start. You're absolutely right. They're way too reliant on those two guys. I do think getting Hyman back is big. A couple years ago he scored 54 goals, so clearly he's going to help with their secondary scoring. Pickard played great last night, deserved a better result. They just weren't able to get any goal scoring, quite frankly. Lost 2 1. Vancouver is a weird team. I think they're a bit of a mishmash. It feels like they got a dark cloud hanging over them, which isn't just the rain in Vancouver. I don't like them that much. And the Leafs right now are a fascinating story because as you said, the east is very tightly bunched up. They're like two points in the last place in the east, but there are four points of a playoff spot. But they have not been good. Like when your general manager and president Brad Treliving is coming out giving a press conference in November just addressing the state of the team. Yeah, they've been really disappointing. Now still, Arts has been out, Matthew's been out. I get it. But you shouldn't still be a.500 team with the Leafs collection of talent. Nylander is wonderful, but they really do miss Mitch Marner. And it's more of a Craig Ruby team. In fact, they're heavy in the puck and slower, but they're certainly not better. And there's a lot of concern right now in Toronto for good reason.
Ethan
Just to close a loop on the youth movement in the NHL right now. If you look at the point leaders in the NHL, number three, Macklin Celebrini, number four, Connor Bedard, and number five, Leo Carlson, who was the second pick behind Connor Bernard in the 2023 NHL Draft. These guys are here and they're all really good. Adnan, I want to ask you about. I saw a clip, I think it was a couple weeks ago. I wish I had it, but I don't. Where Biz's friend Oldie crashed the Monday night hockey. What was that experience like? Because he is an interesting fella.
Adnan Virkey
So here's what happens, Ethan, when you go on these different shows and meet different people, sometimes you need a scouting report. And so with regards to Biz, like, I've seen him on TNT and I know it's working. I'm a huge fan of his, but I am not, forgive me, an avid listener of Spit and Chicklets podcast. I know that they're irreverent and outspoken and all the rest of it. So when we got to the arena, I just saw Oldie, these guys, and again, I don't know them. I'm making it sound like I know them now, but I'm being totally honest. I'm like, I just knew that there were buddies of Biz. I could just tell. The mustache, the trucker hat. I'm like, all right, you guys are clearly with Biz, but I don't know the deal. So when the show's been going on, it's like, if you didn't know the Le Chart show, you had no idea about Greg Cody in the Heart Out. Like, if you don't get the show, you wouldn't know it. So I'm just like, oh, these are buddies of Biz. I'm assuming they're part of the pod. I don't. I don't know what's going on at the end of the show. What Ethan's referring to. Biz is firing up the crowd. When we get a cnx, he goes, oh, Dick, get out here. Do what you always do. And I'm like, oh, this guy's a part of the show now. And he gets out there and does the splits. He also appears to have some packaging below the waist. And at one point Biz, like, tried to hand a microphone to interview his crotch. So this is clearly when things have gone awry. And afterwards people are telling me, oh, Oldie's so great. And I'm talking with Oldie as if I know. I'm like, hey, good to see you, buddy. All the best. Hey, great job. It was like, no. He's known for doing the splits even more. Ethan. This past week at Columbus, we interviewed Rick Nash. And the first thing. Apparently he's known Oldie since they were kids, so I apologize. I should have known. This guy's a big deal. He's a big deal. Now he's doing the splits and he's boyhood friends of Rick Nash. Oldie doing the splits. Gotta love it.
Ethan
Apparently Nash used to, like, bring him into the locker room to fire up the guys and he would, like, do dances before the game games and stuff. Like, he is a NHL legend, apparently.
Adnan Virkey
Yeah. Doesn't take himself too seriously. Really fun guy. I look forward to seeing him the next time we have biz with us.
Roy Bellamy
What did you think of the Miko rant and hit on Alexander Romanov and Patrick Ross? Reaction to it?
Adnan Virkey
I loved was reaction. I mean, he's so fiery, Roy. I love the fact he was passionate about it. I understood his point. He's like, once you see the numbers, you have to hold up. But I. I am. I wouldn't say defensive or Ransom. I do think it was awkward. I came with the player was, but he kind of was brushing with him and then it kind of went into the player, Romanov. So I don't think Ransom had ill intent. So I don't think he was trying to drill the guy in, you know, injuries, career, especially check behind like that. But I totally appreciate Patrick wa being fired up and being at smoke. It's one of the reasons why we love Patrick Waugh. As a goalie, he was always outspoken. As a coach, he's been the way you got to support your team. So I personally did not think the hit was malicious, but I understand Patty being so upset, and I love the fact he was so vocal about. It was good. It was good theater.
Roy Bellamy
The Red Wings and Rangers got together at center ice and had a brouhaha as the benches cleared. What'd you think about that?
Adnan Virkey
So after watching the beloved Eagles game, there was no NFL Network in the hotel in Columbus. They didn't have NHL network, which is great. Got to watch on the fly, but I'm trying to watch NFL coverage just to get caught up. So in the meantime, I'm just watching SportsCenter, which I don't do often these days. It's not a slide. Just don't do it. And I said, they get to a Hockey highlight. They roll the font Rangers red Wings and they pick it up. 9 seconds left and I go, wow, this must be a hell of an ending like this. This is a 10 second highlight and they just show. Obviously got the quick losing his mind again. An example, right, where I get both ends. Like I understand in this instance a player going, I'm not going to wait till the set. Like if I have a shot at a free goal, I'm taking a free goal. Like I just shoot the puck and then the horn sounds fine, but I get quick thinking, hey, it's mine. It, I'm going to defend it. What I didn't like is Panera and the rest of Rangers not really having quicks back. You know what I'm saying? I get to shoot the puck for goal and then Quicksick f that this is my net. But then the other Ranger starts to come in and mix up a little bit. So it's one of those unwritten rules again. I asked Thomas Hickey about it, one of my colleagues on primary hockey and he goes, I get it from both ends. Like if I have a chance to free goal, I'm taking it. But I love Jonathan Quick saying, no, let's buy that you don't mess with it.
Roy Bellamy
That's the type of season that the Rangers are having. I mean, you saw what happened with J.T. muller and that him just giving up on a play and go to ninth scoring and that's that. I mean, it's like they don't have each other's backs on that team.
David
That was a bad ugly and there.
Adnan Virkey
Could be no greater indictment of a team, Right? If you're bab at least you have each other's backs. Fine, drop the gloves, do something. If it's like, no, we don't even care together, like that's a really a bad sign. And again, it's mystifying how bad they are at home ice. You would think on Broadway it's where the Ranger star hasn't been the case.
David
I just was taken aback by Jonathan Quick reacting like that. Like, I, I don't know, the game's over, the net's empty. I. It's just like you just lost. Like, is that really the time and the place to be getting all pissed off about a goal that like even like if you do it during play, during the game and it's like a delayed penalty or something, I get that. But the game's over. Like everybody's skating away. Your own teammates were right there when it happened and nobody seemed to care. Like, read the room. And I'm a big Jonathan Quick fan. Sure. I just didn't like that at all.
Adnan Virkey
One of the great American goalies of all time.
David
Rubber hips, dude. It's amazing.
Adnan Virkey
It's a great point. If it was, if it was a delayed call, you're right. If it's in the heart of the game, like, okay, I can understand the game is over. Like, why is it that big a deal? But. But clearly I think he's frustrated for reasons beyond just that. Play.
Roy Bellamy
Next week is Thanksgiving. That is the magic day where all the teams look at their rosters and look at the standings and see where they are in the league so far this season outside of Canada. Because we talked about what's going on up north. Let's look at the entire league, look at the standings, who's going to make a move, who's not going to make a move, who's going to make the playoffs and who's going to miss out.
Adnan Virkey
So we look at specifically the east just to again show the parody here. Like, it's crazy how many teams, like from 24 points to 22, there's 12 teams. Like, it's crazy. So how. In the east, it's very difficult to predict who's going to be better. Like Carolina and Jersey, the head of the class, Islanders. But again, you've got literally every team separated by six points. So I would expect that your Florida Panthers are going to be better. 23 points in 20 games. The Bruins are a fascinating story because they look terrible. And we interviewed Marcus Sturman, Ottawa, and he's a great guy. He's grinning the whole time like he ain't gonna be smiling in February. His team keeps it up. They lose 7, 2. Then they ripped off like seven straight wins. Oh, my God, the Bruins are at the Atlantic now. They've only had one win their last four games. So I find them very fascinating and schizophrenic, but I think they're a better team. They've shown the capital. They've taken a step back. The real question to me, Roy, at least in the east, is like, which of these so called surprises continues? Like, I think if you look at Carolina and New Jersey, it's okay. I expect them to be good. But Islanders, Detroit, Pittsburgh, which of those three is actually legit? Because once you get the 20 game mark, which we're about to hit by Thanksgiving, you say, all right, these teams are actually good or they're not good. So that's concerning. As far as the west is concerned, Colorado is incredible. This is gonna be one of the great teams ever. 141 and 5 them in Dallas together. We knew last year how good that matchup was in the Western Conference. We can only hope to get that perhaps in a Western Conference final. I think Anaheim is here to stay. Pleasant surprise, Seattle. I'm interviewing Lane Lambert today. He's in a great job with their defense decor. Looks like he's taking a big step. Eberly, as far as the leadership role and those bottom drag teams I think are not good. Vancouver, St. Louis, Nashville, Calgary, Edmonton's better. Hopefully at some point. That's kind of it. The Chicago like Ethan mentioned, 10, 6 and 4, like 24 points in 20 games. They're a fun team right now. I hope they can hang.
David
So I said before the season I felt a little sheepish after the first couple weeks of the season, but before the season I said that I thought San Jose was going to contend for a playoff spot by the end of the year. Now they're one point out right now after a horrible start. Adnan. Yeah. Am I going to be proved right or are the Sharks going to Sharks?
Adnan Virkey
It would be an incredible prediction, David. I don't think it'll happen. I think the Sharks are going to Shark. But I'll tell you this. We had this conversation with the great Chris Pronger, hall of Fame defensive, one of the greats ever. And I said to him, who is going to be quicker to a Stanley Cup? Connor McDavid or Connor Bedard? And he said, I'll go a wild card with you and I'll say Macklin Celebrini. I was like, wow. Imagine celebrating and the Sharks win a cup before McDavid and the Oilers and Bedard in the block.
David
Imagine.
Ethan
People love celebrity around the league.
David
Can you imagine?
Ethan
Love him.
Roy Bellamy
Their heads would explode.
Ethan
It would be crazy.
David
Oh, my God.
Ethan
And then do you ever want to.
Adnan Virkey
Copy you're telling celebrities to leave them a cup or leave it to the Sharks.
David
Here it goes, McDavid to the Sharks.
Adnan Virkey
That's what happens.
David
I love it.
Rose
So, admin, I am very eager for also for Thanksgiving, but not because of hockey.
Roy Bellamy
The lights again.
Rose
Yes. Because of Stranger Things.
Adnan Virkey
Oh, yeah.
Rose
Yeah.
Adnan Virkey
So no, I. I don't watch it. I'm aware of it. My wife and my kids watch. I gave you a. Yeah, Like I know Rose misleading.
Rose
You're killing me here.
Adnan Virkey
Yeah. This could be like Stranger Things.
Roy Bellamy
Like.
Adnan Virkey
Yep, I'm aware of it. I know it. My wife watched it. They're excited. The final season. Yeah. I love Maya Hawke only because I love Ethan Hawke so much. He's got a great film called Blue. She's right Now. So I know that's his daughter, so by association, I root for her once again. Rose, I'm unfamiliar with the topic. Go ahead, tell me how excited you are for Stranger Things.
Rose
I'm telling you, this is one of the best shows I ever seen in my life. And people are like, have you watched Breaking Bad and everything? I'm like, yes. The Sopranos. Yes, I have. I've watched all of them and I still rank it as one of my favorite shows of all time. And people are like, why would I watch it? And then I'm telling you, if you like movies, if you like how it's done, the arcs of characters and everything, I am telling you, go watch it.
Ethan
If you like movies.
David
I can't get past that one.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, I think he likes movies.
Rose
I know it's a masterpiece. Like the music, the art, everything. This voice. I cannot.
David
She's giving you an assignment, but yeah.
Adnan Virkey
David Rose. It sounds like a lot of work. The two of the shows you mentioned, by the way, are my two favorite dramas, the Sopranos and Breaking Bad. So I can't imagine Stranger Things is going to be better than those two. So I'm skeptical, like all those other people you're talking to. But Rose, more importantly, isn't this like the fifth season? I'm guessing at least 10 episodes. That's like 50 episodes. You're expecting me to pound through that? That's a lot of work.
David
I'm not in time for the new season, Adnan, but you could certainly get. Get started and work at your own pace.
Rose
24. Because season one is eight, season two is eight. So it's just 24. And the new season is going to be nine.
David
The new season is like every episode's like two hours too, right?
Rose
Yeah, yeah. And the last. The last episode is going to be.
Adnan Virkey
Two parts of two hours. How about this? Since my wife and one of my kids is definitely gonna be watching Locked in, they're excited like you. Why don't I just pick it up with them watching the final season and they can fill in the holes for me as I'm watching.
Rose
Okay.
Adnan Virkey
Is that possible?
Rose
Okay, yes. So you can talk theories and then you can be like, okay, my guess is here, these people are gonna die. These are not gonna die. So we can play the game. Yeah, yeah.
Adnan Virkey
Imagine, like not watching the Sopranos but then watching the final season.
David
Oh, man, missed so much.
Ethan
Two hour episodes. Get over yourselves.
David
Who are you saying that to us.
Ethan
No, not you guys.
Adnan Virkey
Right.
Ethan
In general, I get it. I get why you like the show. It's a great show, whatever. Just two hour episodes in general. Like if you're just make 18 hour long episodes, that's fine. I'm good with that.
David
Like, I think what they're doing is they're trying to not make the mistake that got made at the end of Game of Thrones where they knew they had to end it by X season, so they crammed in so much shit. So what? It was like five or six episodes in that last season of Game of Thrones and basically ruined one of the best shows of all time. Best shows for sure.
Rose
Yeah.
David
So I'm thinking maybe Stranger Things Said, okay, we're gonna still finish it this season, but we're going to pack each episode, we're gonna get every piece of crucial information, every storyline is going to make sense. So I'm hoping that they're not gonna ruin this one because, God, I. I don't know. I love Game of Thrones almost as much as I love my kids and the way that they ruined it in that last season.
Rose
They ruined it.
Ethan
I was almost as much as you.
David
I'm gonna start like that show was so.
Rose
But when I started Game of Thrones the first time I was like, what is this?
David
No.
Rose
Then the second time I was like, oh, my God. And then when I got to the seventh, I was like, I was better off because watching that last season was the worst.
David
Like, I can get through the first two or three episodes of the last season, but once you get past the big battle, it's like, all right, I'm done.
Roy Bellamy
Oh, okay. All right. All right. Aunt Nan has had enough. I've had enough. Aunt Nan's had enough.
Adnan Virkey
I've definitely had enough. But Bros was being like Flavor Flav, though. Like David's hype man, whatever he was saying, she was like, definitely one of the best.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, girl. Antwerk of Prime. Monday night hockey. Have fun in Los Angeles, brother.
Adnan Virkey
I appreciate it so much.
Ethan
We'll see you soon, Adnan.
David
Yes.
Adnan Virkey
I bet you I'll see you in two weeks. I booked my rental car. I'm landing at the Orlando International Airport. I'm picking up the rental, driving to Miami. I will see you boys in two weeks. December 6th. Let's get it.
Roy Bellamy
Absolutely. Looking forward to it. Thank you, brother.
Adnan Virkey
Thanks, boys. Appreciate you.

The Florida Panthers do better in the Upside Down.
Roy Bellamy
We are in the Panthers then as Rose just decided to start this segment and not tell me about it. So I'm a bit off on what we are doing here. Thank you very much. The Upside down, that was good though. Yeah. The Panthers have won four out of the last five. Here's what happened so far this week. On Saturday they lost to Tampa 3 to 1. Monday they beat Vancouver 8 to 5. And last night they beat New Jersey 1 nothing. They have Edmonton tomorrow before they go on the road to Nashville. Now, as I said, they won four out of last five. The win versus the Canucks vastly different from the win last night against the Devils. They played everybody. Both teams played in mud.
David
That was a weird game. Weird, weird game.
Ethan
Canucks game was weird. Yeah, that was a really weird game.
David
They were down two nothing. They were up five, two, tied five, five. And then they won eight five.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, that's exactly what happened. A lot of staying power by the Panthers there. They, I mean they can score.
David
They gave up 15 shots. They scored eight goals and they gave up 15 shots. Like forgetting the, like how the final ended that right there, it's like, okay, even though they gave up five goals, like, that's, that's A really dominant game.
Ethan
You would think, sorry, they outshot Vancouver 41 to 15. Like, you can say it's a bad night for Bob because 5 went in on 15. The Panthers got out XG in that game. The. The Canucks actually had more expected goals because all of their shots, like if you watch back, all five of their goals were like, point. One of them was weird. The first one was really weird. Like Bob had it covered and then he kind of did it and then it went in like all of their shots were like right there, point blank chances. So like, yeah, Bob, when you see 5 on 15, you're like, God, he had a terrible night. But at the end of the day, like, you know, a lot of those chances were right out in front. And the defending was really bad for the Panthers, but they really tightened up last game. They were fantastic defensively. Yesterday Bob was great as well.
Roy Bellamy
Sergey Bobrovsky, whenever he has a bad game, comes right back and has a very good game. That's what happened against New Jersey. In fact, both goaltenders had good games. Jake Allen was good as well. And it's. It seems to be a common occurrence where the Panthers can't finish their shots. Especially Carter Verhage. What's going on with him in the.
David
Last couple years now that Verhege is just not finding the net the way that he had for his first several years with the Panthers. Talking about shooting percentage. His first what, four years with the Panthers. 16.8, 14.4, 15.3, 13.8. That's all pretty solid for a dull sore, right?
Roy Bellamy
Yeah.
David
Last year it got cut in half to 8.3. This year that's been cut in half to 4.3. Carter Hades just snake bitten right now when it comes to finding the back.
Roy Bellamy
Of the net, is that just it? He's just snake bitten?
David
Yeah, he's still getting shots, he's still creating opportunities. He's still great both sides of the ice. He's still the same tenacious player that he's always been. It just feels like he can't beat goaltenders right now.
Roy Bellamy
Jack Devine had his first game last night and he looked, he looked good. I mean, he made plays. I mean, confident. He had that. Yeah, he made confident plays. He had that one turnover in his first shift, but kind of got it together after that. And really we saw some good plays, good passes by Jack Devine last night.
David
It was nice to see, like, he's leading the Charlotte Checkers in scoring the season. Obviously Paul Maurice has talked about his championship pedigree. He won the national championships with the University of Denver before coming to the. To the pro hockey. I was gonna say the NHL before coming to pro hockey. Then he went with Charlotte last year on their run to almost winning the Calder Cup. They came up short to the Abbotsford to nuts and she loves with your Penguins. But no, like, I liked what I saw a lot. And just the word that you said that I said, confidence. When you see it from a guy playing his first NHL game that the game's not too big for him, that's big for me because I think this year with like Mackie Samistevich talking about younger guys, the confidence that he's shown this season, it's been spectacular.
Ethan
Couple things. One on Verhegi, that 4.3 shooting percentage, second worst on the team among players that have actually scored a goal this year. The last. The worst would be air neck blood at 3%. Guys, let's all do an exercise here. It's 20 games in. Let's all just take a big deep breath. Ready with me?
David
Ready? This is what, 20 games in when we're upset.
Ethan
20 games in. 20 games in. The Panthers are one game off of their pace the last two seasons and that's without Alexander Barkov. Matthew Chuck, Dmitry Kulakov, Jonah Gadjevich at Du Losarinens now on the. On the injured list, Thomas, Tomasz Nosek, Cole Schwinn. Now like seven. What is it, six, seven, eight. Guys, it's crazy. The Panthers, for all the injuries and. And it looked rough. Like some of those games at the beginning of the year were tough. They were getting beaten down. They're six, three and one in their last 10. They're one point out of a playoff spot with a game in hand on the Washington Capitals.
Rose
Penalty for time.
Ethan
They're going to be fine.
Roy Bellamy
Wasn't it you that was panicking?
Ethan
I'm doing a thing, Roy. I'm doing it.
Roy Bellamy
No, that was.
Ethan
No, no, no.
Roy Bellamy
What I said. What I said was panic.
Ethan
Here's what I said during training camp. What I said during training camp was that if the Panthers don't have Alexander Barkov in the playoffs, they're not going to win the Stanley Cup. And I stand by that. I still don't think, like they're going.
Roy Bellamy
To have to get. Barcode was over today.
Ethan
I said it feels like your season ends before it even starts.
Roy Bellamy
Semantics.
Ethan
When the Panthers. When you've won two Stanley Cups in. When you've won back to back Stanley Cups.
Roy Bellamy
Get out of here.
Ethan
Not winning the Stanley cup is a failure. Right. When you've won two in a row. So it feels like your chances at a Stanley cup end. When Alexander Barkov goes down, we'll see how everything plays out. But the Panthers are in a really good spot. They're still going to be a playoff team.
Roy Bellamy
They're.
Ethan
They're playing really, really good hockey despite all the injuries. Tkachuk will be back hopefully soon. You know, no, sick eventually. Gadjevic eventually. Cooley eventually. And then we'll see about Barkov come playoff time. This team is going to be fine.
Roy Bellamy
Well, listen, not winning the Standing cup is a failure, even if he did win the Stanley cup last season. And that's just the way things are in this league. The Panthers are coming up on the Edmonton game tomorrow at home. The last game in this homestead before home stand before they go up to Nashville and then come back for another home stand where you see in this Edmonton game. Because Stuart Skinner has not been good.
David
No, I don't think he's going to play either. I think Calvin Pickard, he played pretty well. Was it last night in Tampa or Tuesday? Yeah, last night in Tampa. And Skinner has just not been good at all this season. I mean, his goals against his three, his safe percentage is.882, and he's not coming up with timely saves, which was an issue in the playoffs. So I think you're going to see a motivated Oiler squad. They've lost four or five. They've given up a ton of goals lately. So. I'm excited for the game. Ethan Roy. I'm, you know, nice little Stanley Cup Final rematch, but I think excited for the game. If the Panthers don't win, it would be a disappointment.
Rose
You said Ethan Roy, Rose, you're going.
Ethan
To be in Gainesville. Rosie, you're going to be at the Gator game. No, Rosie's going to be at the Swamp.
Rose
But you can be. You can be excited, though. I can also be part of the. Ethan.
David
Well, I know why you're excited. Because your guy, your. Your rip the ice guy will be playing.
Rose
No, he doesn't play.
David
Oh, he's not?
Rose
No. Yeah, he's the worst.
Roy Bellamy
Yeah, he's probably gonna be for you.
Rose
Noah, buddy, you're not giving me a shit.
Ethan
I. I expect the Oilers to come out firing in this game. They're gonna be. They're pissed off after the last couple years. They're not playing well at all. Pickard. I agree with you, Dave. I think that's a great point. He's gonna be their starting goaltender for the immediate future. Like, I'll see, you know. They need to make a move, though. I think everybody knows they need to make a move, but I think they're going to come out fired up. It's going to be a great game. I'm going to be in the building. Can't wait for it.
Roy Bellamy
And I'm going to be in the building.
Ethan
Of course I'll beat the game. Can't wait. And I'm fired up. Like, this should be. This is a. The Oilers are going to want this to be the game that turns their season around, right? They're going to want to give everything they have to come out and beat this team that's beat them twice in a row in the Stanley Cup Final. But I think the Panthers are going to have some good pushback and it's going to be a fun game on Saturday night.
David
I'm not sure I want to put all my eggs in that basket if I'm the Oilers, but. But to each their own, man. Like, if they want to say we're going to. The Panthers have got like, no, like, I agree.
Ethan
If not now, when? Right.
David
I just don't know if it would be smart just because it's the Panthers for sure. And they don't.
Ethan
Right. They do.
David
We're in the press box last night. I don't remember who said it, but somebody was talking about quality losses in the playoffs. And who's got more quality losses over the last few years than the Edmonton Oilers? Like, they have so much experience.
Roy Bellamy
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. We are off next week. We will return December 5th for Aunt Nan Burke. Thank you for joining us. For Geno and Danny Benitez in the video room for Ethan and Rosie who has has me upside down with all this.
Rose
Welcome to the Upside Down. If and if we don't get Paklok right, we're all trapped in the Upside Down.
David
Oh, God.
Roy Bellamy
I don't know what that means again because I don't watch the show. For David Dwork. My name is Roy Bellamy. We will see you in two weeks.
