Summer is pretty much my favorite time to be a sports fan. The biggest soccer tournament of the summer just wrapped up. Baseball's on every night, racing never takes a weekend off, and my calendar basically revolves around first pitches, green flags, and whatever game everybody's texting about. I realized I'm the MVP of my group. I'm always the friend that says, hey, I've got it. I've got a place. I've got some ice cold Miller Lights. I got the tv. I got a big comfy blue leather couch. Come on over. That's the behavior of a Miller Time mvp. I almost never watch the big ones alone. I'd much rather be with my friends. And if I am alone, we're texting, we're sipping on our Miller Lites, toasting the day, toasting the big games. For me, Miller Lite is just a part of a big game routine. It's brewed for taste with simple ingredients, clean, refreshing and easy to drink, especially in the Miami heat. It's a true American Pilsner, and the original light beer is since 1975. An all American summer starts with an all American beer Miller lite. Go to millerlight.com dan to find delivery options near you, or you can pick up some Miller Lite pretty much anywhere they sell beer. It's Miller Time. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Co. Happens to me once a month where I'm surprised. Oh hey, we're on YouTube TV. Check that out. Hey, that's Dan. That's our show. That's Dan. Look at us. Yeah, NBC Sports has a channel on YouTube TV and we're on it.
Stugat
Yeah. You'd wonder though, how can they possibly be that many places that are credible when they've got someone on their show who thinks a human being can throw a hundred and twelve miles an hour.
Amin Elhassan
I mean again, that came across my desk and son, I'll take, you know what. Ball off, ball off me. Like it was my fault. I need to make sure that I vet the people that bring me stuff to my desk, Dan. So I'm gonna bring you up a still image of what came across my desk here. And it said, you know, 111.9 miles per hour. Jacob Murzurowski with the fastest pitch in MLB history with shocked faces. And I'm like holy shit.
Sponsor Announcer
Wow.
Amin Elhassan
Again quickly came across my desk. I looked at it, I was like, I gotta bring it to Dan.
Zaz
Your desk is stupid.
Amin Elhassan
And I need to vet, you know, people that are bringing stuff to my desk. Cause yeah, apparently the pitch was 102 miles an hour, not 112.
Stugat
Well the thing about him though that is something that could permit perhaps someone for thinking that he throws 10 miles an hour faster than he does is the fact that the first seven people who faced him yesterday struck out. Cuz when that dude throws a breaking ball, it's completely unfair. Like that guy shouldn't be put it on the Polette LeBatard Show. Should it be illegal for Jacob Misarowski to throw an off speed pitch, he
Zaz
should have to pitch it from second
Amin Elhassan
base to double the amount of.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, distance.
Zaz
It's unfair.
Dan Le Batard
I took them to win the World Series. Just because if you're facing that guy at least two times in a playoff series, how do you, what do you do?
Stugat
I mean, they're good and they're the most athletic team in baseball without him. So, like, they're pretty good with him. Obviously, I think they still have the best record in baseball, although the Dodgers probably have the best run differential. But they are exceptional and they can absolutely beat the dodgers in a seven game series.
Amin Elhassan
Somebody throwing 112 miles an hour would have led, you know, ESPN Sports. There would have been some sort of break into it. That's another thing I should have probably noticed when I didn't see that on ESPN, I was like, yeah, maybe we
Stugat
were talking about LeBron James. Also, in terms of corrections, Charles Barkley said that if he wins two in Philadelphia, he will pass Michael Jordan. And Charles Barkley will be willing to say that he's the greatest basketball player he's, he's ever seen.
Zaz
I mean, it'd be pretty enormous. You would not only equal Michael Jordan in titles, he would be leaving in his 40s having won a fifth and a sixth title. But it would also mean that he's appeared in double the amount of finals that Michael Jordan did. And as strange as it may sound to you, it's the truth. If LeBron finishes his career with two more titles, he's 6 and 6 in his career in the finals. 6 and 6 in the finals is better than 6. Zero. It is. I mean, it's, it's 12 conference championships compared to six. Like, would you rather win a conference championship or lose it? Okay, well, LeBron did twice as many as Michael Jordan. Like six and six would be better than six.
Stugat
And it is a crazy thing that you're saying and no one would agree with it, but it's true. Well, put it on the poll. No one would.
Dan Le Batard
No one would agree. He'd find some allies, you know, you think Nick Wright would be there?
Zaz
What's better, winning 12 conference championships or six?
Stugat
I put it on the poll at LeBatard show. Is it better to go six and six in the finals than to go six and oh in the finals? I'm just going to put it out there. I don't think anyone is. I understand exactly what you're saying. I have no confusion about what it is that you're trying to argue.
Zaz
If you're not agreeing with me, you might be confused.
Amin Elhassan
I don't know if I agree with you. You're going to wear 12 Eastern Conference championship rings. You're going to wear six rings.
Zaz
If you're in the conference championship, is it better to win this series or lose it?
Dan Le Batard
It's all how you frame it. Is it better to be in the NBA Finals 12 times as opposed to six? That's how you frame it to win it.
Stugat
If you want to frame it to win it on how it is that you do what we're doing. You start the conversation right now about where is Steph Curry's next team.
Dan Le Batard
I know Jeremy has started that conversation. He's already on to Steph Curry for the Heat.
Stugat
Yeah, he's moved off the Marlins now that they've lost 12 in a row. And now he's over.
Amin Elhassan
He's not even here.
Dan Le Batard
Literally cannot show his face. After the last few days, not showing his face. He said, I am not coming in for the rest of the week.
Stugat
It's hard to win two weeks worth to lose two weeks worth of baseball games like that.
Dan Le Batard
He works so hard, hard to get us to talk about them. And now we finally are for all the wrong reasons.
Stugat
Well, they were the best team. It's look it is now.
Zaz
They weren't.
Dan Le Batard
The World cup was going on. No one was paying attention.
Sponsor Announcer
They completely undid everything they did.
Stugat
It is distinctly Marlins okay to be hot at the worst time, which is during the World Cup. They were the best team in baseball by record, and no one knows it for a month. They undid all of it in two weeks because they have done nothing but go to the ballpark for two weeks and leave losers.
Dan Le Batard
I know all about how good the Red Sox have been lately because the World Cup's over.
Stugat
Steph Curry's next team. Is he the next free agent? He's the next one. We're going to do this around this. This happened a little bit suddenly to me, okay? Because the warriors, it wasn't that long ago that their management was being quoted as saying, we're light years ahead of everybody when they got Kevin Durant and the off season was brutal enough that I think it's fair if the conversation in the Bay Area is, hey, when are you going to get Steph some help? You guys going to get Steph some help? What are you guys doing with Steph? Like Steph. Steph is not. Steph is not going to be a player in the national conversation this year because everyone that's watching that team knows it is not good enough to get past OKC and San Antonio. So I do believe the conversation will start at some point. Is Steph intending to end his career? Because they've got a lot of people that they have to get. When you look at Klay Thompson's probably going to be a member of the Miami Heat. Forgiveness, please, for those of you who climbed on me because I said, Klay Thompson has bounced around the league the last couple of years. He's just been bad in Dallas. It just felt like he's been bad in a lot of different places. But it was just Dallas because it was a traveling road show. Dallas would go to other cities, and I just saw it bouncing around the league. His shots were also bouncing around the league like it was the worst season of his career. But Draymond is old, Clay is old, Kevin Durant is old, and Steph Curry is old. And now Steph Curry stands alone at what used to be a champion that has fallen out of the playoffs in that conference. I think it's fair to question, hey, how'd you go from light years ahead to light years behind?
Zaz
I think they're going to stink. I think they're going to stink this year.
Dan Le Batard
And if they stink, then certainly around the trade deadline, that's going to be a conversation. Unless he comes out during training camp and says, I'm fully committed to ending my career here.
Zaz
Well, my guess is he is fully committed to ending his career there. The reality is the Warrior should trade him. All right? Like, it's a very similar spot that Giannis was in in Milwaukee, where what's actually best for both the player and the team is to trade Giannis.
Mike Ryan
You're not.
Zaz
You're past the point of being able to win with him because you've traded away all your assets. The warriors, it would expedite in a hurry that next phase after Steph Cordy's done, if they were to trade Steph Curry, you would still get a lot for Steph Curry if you traded him this year. So I believe Curry will absolutely want to stay in Golden State. Golden State should consider, at some point trading Steph Curry.
Stugat
If you're light years ahead of everybody, as you have claimed, you absolutely trade him. Because I don't believe that you still have the window open on getting him the things that he would need to compete this year. But let's bring in somebody who knows more than us on these subjects, former front office insider Amin Elhassan. Let's bring him in to talk about the idea of what kind of haul does Steph Curry get right now? Because I want to make the argument that Steph Curry is worth more to other teams than he is to Golden State. But the sentimental value of having that kind of star. The announcement your organization makes to its customers, to getting rid of that guy, that one hurts in a way that's unusual. That one hurts more than most players leaving most teams. Given that he's the scrappy underdog, the small guy, the best shooter in the history of the league. I mean, what are your thoughts on what it is that we're presently discussing that the next free, the next freedom that's going to be sought by a major star player in that league that's going to be coveted and create a lot of talk is Steph Curry.
Mike Ryan
Yeah. So the warriors in Chase Center, Dan, have these suites, they're called bunker suites, in which you're. You're not even outside. You're underneath the bleachers, inside this personal place where you have a personal chef, a sommelier, and a big jumbo screen that can play nine different games or one different game. And the trick is, with these bunker suits is that they actually do have a set of seats out in the lower bowl if you want to go back, pop up and watch the game. But they're kind of like in the, like, seven, eight rows off the floor, not like your typical luxury suite. These seats have cameras over them so that when you're in the bunker, if you want, you want to say, I want to watch the game, but I don't want to watch the TV broadcast. I want to watch what the game would look like from my seats if I was sitting on seats. They hit a button, and that wall of screens in that bunker turns into the actual view, meaning you can see both baskets. There's no camera pan. It's like you're sitting out there. They don't do that for d' Angelo Russell and, you know, what's his name, Bobby Portis, to be running up and down the floor. They do that because people pay a ton of money to see Steph Curry. There is so much money that's being made by the warriors by just having this dude there that any conversation about I should trade him. You're out of your mind. There is no way they're trading him. Not until he says, get me the hell out of here. I hate it here. But that's the only time they're going to.
Stugat
Mike, my question, just like Zaz, the value is now they'd get a haul for him. They. I mean, they would get a haul for him. And I know that that organization has been a nowhere franchise before he got there. So I understand. I'm not. I am not confused about what you're saying. His value Is I'm just telling you his value drops elsewhere from now going forward. Like, if you're an organization who's interested in making your franchise better, now is the time to do this.
Mike Ryan
Dan, what I'm telling you is you're telling me his value basketball wise. That sounds real sportsy. And I'm telling you that billionaires love money more than anything else. The guy brings in money even as his basketball value may become zero, maybe this year or close to it. He makes so much money for them, they are going to ride it till the wheels fall off.
Zaz
So, I mean, when we get the report then over the weekend, I think it was Tim Kawakami out there at San Francisco Chronicle that says Joe Lacob is focusing on what the roster is going to look like post Steph Curry. Well, that's not true then.
Mike Ryan
No, you can do that without trying to trade Steph Curry.
Zaz
No, but I'm saying if you are actually focused on what the roster is going to look like post Steph Curry.
Mike Ryan
Right.
Zaz
Like this, this would be the way to go about that.
Mike Ryan
Zaz, are you focused on your financial wherewithal beyond this year?
Zaz
Not really.
Mike Ryan
Beyond 2026. You're not. Okay. Is anyone okay? This is called a yes. And guys, could someone.
Dan Le Batard
I have a 401K.
Mike Ryan
Okay, thank you.
Dan Le Batard
I'm worried about retirement and.
Stugat
All right.
Dan Le Batard
My future finance.
Mike Ryan
Yes, but Mike, you're focused on your future.
Dan Le Batard
Yes, sir.
Mike Ryan
Mike, are you. Are you actively trying to sell your house right now? Because the value is great.
Dan Le Batard
No.
Mike Ryan
Okay, guys, this isn't hard. It's a business. I know. You guys are like team sports. It's a business.
Stugat
That's me.
Mike Ryan
And if the basketball is not outweighing the money, then no one is going to make a move. Unless the basketball says we have to make a move. And what that means is Steph Curry walks into Joe Lacob's office and Mike Dunleavy's office and says, guys, I can't do this anymore. Now that might be coming soon. We all know Steve Kerr came this close to not coming back. And I don't think Steph Curry has a great desire to play for someone not named Steve Kerr. But having said that, until that happens, they hold on because every last dollar matters.
Dan Le Batard
But what if it's a father of the bride too situation where Eugene Levy tries to pay you double what it's worth? Yeah, I'm not looking to sell my house, but if someone comes over and tries to offer me triple for the house, I start considering.
Mike Ryan
What does that look like? In basketball terms, for a 38 year old who's due to make $63 million,
Dan Le Batard
man, that guy can play till he's 60. There are bones on the house.
Mike Ryan
That's. That's $63 million. That's a one year deal, right? He's like, you can't extend him. He's not extension eligible. And by the way, there's no promise that if I overpay to get Steph Curry that he's going to want to stay. That's. I mean, there's risks involved with this that kind of mitigate how good of a package they could get in return.

Okay.
Mike Ryan
Weekend observations is brought to you by Miller Light legendary moments. Start with I just figured like we're doing twice the work we could. Just then LeBron announces he's going to Philly and the world goes to shit. Everyone lost their damn minds. People in Golden State blaming GM Mike Dunleavy. You should have done more. People in Cleveland angry at James Harden. This is your fault. He doesn't want to play with you. And one guy in Miami who wants the guy who runs Fanatics Fest to be investigated.
Stugat
Who is that?
Mike Ryan
The last time I heard an allegation that far fetched and illogical, we ended up electing the guy four years later.
Stugat
That is not me.
Mike Ryan
On second thought, carry on. That seems to be working pretty well. WNBA all star weekend in Chicago was a blast. Thursday night I went to the together party and at the end of the night I went to McDonald's that looked like an Apple store. I decided then and there I've had enough excitement for one day. There it goes. That's a McDonald's. I've had enough excitement for one weekend. I flew home. That was it. Thursday night was all I could do. Ross Chaffetz, Portland Trailblazers co owner Richard Shafetz retweeted a post about the possibility of St. Louis landing an NBA franchise. In the post they had a picture of what I presume to be the venue that would house said NBA franchise. It's called Shape. It's Arena.

That's not great. That's not a great name.

I'm sure there's no relation. They gone. Kyle Kuzma tweeting critically about New York City mayor Zoran Mamdani is like Mike Ryan's weird alien dog giving a dissertation on molecular biology.

It's not beautiful. I told you guys. Yeah, look, I've seen some good looking dogs. Lenny. Lenny Kimes good looking dog. Looks like he's dumb as a box of rocks, but he's a good looking dog.

The dog doesn't speak English. Guys can ask away. It's not like bringing a child. You can ask whatever you want. I'll give Kuz $100 if he can point out New York City on a map without using AI.
Stugat
Of course, it is funny. If I tell you somebody's headed into the political sphere with a lot of opinions, it's Kyle Kuzma. That's a funny name to give you. Like, if I chose all of the names in all of sports and told you, hey, you know who's down on Mandani? Kyle Kuzma.
Zaz
I think there's something weird going on with Kuzma's Twitter.
Amin Elhassan

Yeah, I haven't listed an episode yet. That's why I set it up for you guys. There you go. Let's all go listen to the episode together. Dijonay Carrington woke up and chose to be Nino Brown in the courtroom at the end of New Jack City. She named names. Here they are. I love when the kids have a appreciation for the classics. You know LeBron James going to Philly, but allegedly will not be living in Philly. Allegedly. He will live in New York City and commute the roughly two hour drive to practices and games.
Zaz
You think he'll drive himself, which is
Mike Ryan
about half as long as his daily commute in LA was. Oh, traffic humor. Dan, this is your chance to let him know our traffic is way worse than either of those places.
Stugat
No, it's not worse than Los Angeles. Kobe used to take a helicopter to. Yeah, no, I'm, I'm not making a joke there. I'm saying Kobe used to. To avoid the track of traffic.
Dan Le Batard
I'm not making a tastelessly, but yeah, we, we know how that went. We don't like it.
Stugat
Just saying that we don't like it. However, LeBron gets from New York to Philadelphia, I imagine it's the way that Phil Philip Rivers was traveling about two hours by bus every day. It wasn't like a Greyhound bus, public transportation. He would travel in a. Just a retrofitted RV that was very comfortable. I don't know how LeBron is. Look, two hour commute every day is a long ass commute. And I can't assume that LeBron's going to be doing that by car.
Mike Ryan
Hey, welcome to L. A. Two hour commute. They're like, where do you live around the block? Here's the science. Since you're a movie guy, there's. I want to get into this with the entirety of the group here because I don't think that there's been this much talk around a movie, though. Amount of talk that there is around the Odyssey since Top Gun, since they redid Top Gun. But it is really unusual to have in the modern age where everything is fractured, everybody talking about one movie. In fact, outside of Top Gun and the Odyssey, I'm going to have a hard time having a third one in the last Barb and Hymer. Yeah, maybe, but it's not like this. I just, I still think the amount that people are talking about the Odyssey, it. It is crazy to me. Have you seen it yet?
Mike Ryan
I mean, Dan, I am both Hollywood's greatest champion and greatest villain. I love movies. I watch a million movies. I will watch the Odyssey soon enough. But I don't go to theaters as often as I do anymore. I only take my kids to movies. But if it's a movie for me, I'll wait for it to come out on streaming, man. Like, I just, I don't see a point in paying 25 to take a nap, which is basically what happens every time I go to the movies.
Stugat
This is why I'm going to take it. This is why I'm saying, though, that this is so unusual what's presently happening around the Odyssey, because a lot of people, I believe, have been afflicted by the disease of just things being convenient. And so There are only 25 theaters that this is playing the way that Christopher Nolan would like you to see it. And so I imagine a lot of people are doing what it is that you're doing with the Odyssey, but Zsas here. I asked zsas to wait and watch it a second time with me and Tony, and we would build some content around me and Tony. Going to the movies on a date with Zaz Couldn't wait. He had to go see it a second time. Simply could not wait. And your. Your assessment now is what, after seeing it a second?
Zaz
Yeah. Well, I had to take my father. My father had not seen it yet. I had to take my father. I saw it for a second time, brought my older son with me also. He's his second time seeing it too. And I liked it even more. I loved it. I loved it even more. The. The second time that I saw it, I was able to notice things that I didn't notice the first time. I was able to pay attention differently. It's. It's an incredible movie.
Mike Ryan
Yeah, Christopher Nolan makes incredible movies. Like, except for Tenet. I still don't get it. But every other movie make. Every other movie he makes is incredible. And so it's not shocking as a storytelling device. But there's two things for me. Number one is this whole, like, oh, you have to see in 70 millimeter IMAX. No, you don't.
Zaz
You know.
Mike Ryan
You know, I want to saw Oppenheimer, 70 millimeter IMAX. A bunch of people in a boardroom and in a classroom, basically. That's a whole movie, right? Oh, my God, you cut up. I could have missed the part where, like, this airspace here between the top of his head and the top of the screen. Who cares? Who cares? Like, I get the gist of it. I get the gist of it. Because the most important. You know, I know you guys know this. When you watch a movie, when they make a movie, they put the most important things in the middle, not towards the periphery of the screen. You know why? Because if they did that, it'd be cut off. And then a lot of people, like, I didn't get it and, like, you should have seen it and said, no, this is all a hack and a scam. I'm actually sure it's fun for some people. For me, it's just overkill. Having said that, I have a pretty big screen at home. That movie's gonna come out.
Zaz
How big? How big?
Mike Ryan
Like 75 inches.
Dan Le Batard
That's pretty good, Tony. You know that moment at a party or at a tailgate where everything just sort of clicks?
Amin Elhassan
I know it. Well, it's usually when I show up, everybody goes crazy.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, you usually take all the credit for it. But it's. But it's because Tony usually walks in with Cuervo.
Amin Elhassan
Walk in like this.
Dan Le Batard
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night.
Amin Elhassan
It has that effect on people.
Dan Le Batard
It does. You usually take the credit for it, but again, it's the Cuervo effect. It's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up, hootin and hollerin'. Keep it Cuervo.
Amin Elhassan
Keep it Cuervo, baby.

People are more open about it, conversations are happening, and that's a really good thing. But asking for help, that still seems to be the hard part. Better Help's 2026 State of Stigma report surveyed 2,000Americans, and it revealed that 85% of Americans believe getting support is wise, yet 74% say society discourages people from doing so. Think about it. Most of us believe it's the right thing to do, but we still worry about what other people might think. Maybe the best way to change that is to make those conversations a little bit more normal. BetterHelp supports fully licensed therapists in the US and they handle the matching process for you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Sorry.
Stugat
Jonathan Saslow.
Zaz
I get carried away.

This is the Dan Lebatar show. Put it on the poll, please. At Lebatard show is IMAX an overkill scam? And also put it on the poll. Have you ever enjoyed a movie more the second time than the first time? Because I would think that to be a fairly unusual experience to enjoy it more the second time.
Zaz
I think it's the first time it's ever happened to me.
Stugat
I can't think. As you said it, I was trying to think of, has there ever been a movie? Because part of seeing a movie is the awe of wonder and discovery. So you're seeing it the second time. And even though this is a known story, maybe that's why this is that for you, it's a known story. I want to follow the journey of the story. Once you take that away from me, I'm not as interested in the secondary details. But do you guys have any examples of a movie that you have enjoyed more the second time than the first time? Because I was trying to think of one that I could do that with, and there isn't one. For example, Pulp Fiction, one of my favorite movies. I did not enjoy it more the second time than the first time because. No, because the first time I'm watching it, it's unlike anything I've seen. The second time, I've already seen it. Like, it's the first time. It's unlike anything I've seen. The second time, I just saw something like it.
Mike Ryan
No, the second time. You're picking up on all the nuances, all the things that I missed the first time. That's, that's. That's the beauty of seeing a movie the second time, Dan. It's like, wait a second, I've seen this before. I don't remember that guy coming in or that guy saying this or that person in the background. I'll give you another great example. Back to the Future 2. Watched it, and I was like, oh, my gosh. Then I went back and watched Back to the Future one to find out all the parts they got from Back to the future 2, how many of them were reshoots and how many were just using the archive footage? And I was blown away, like, oh, I didn't notice the attention to detail. Look, if you love cinema, not everyone does. I get it. But if you love cinema, you find great, great satisfaction out of re watching movies, especially the ones with twists. Usual suspects. The second time I watched it, oh, my God. I was like, how could I have missed it Right there. He's clearly lying.
Stugat
Yeah. So the Sixth Sense is like that. Memento is like that. The ones with twists might be that. But the Odyssey is not that.
Mike Ryan
Sixth Sense. No, because again, as I famously said, as soon as I saw the. I was like, oh, he's dead. No one else is talking to him but the kids. It like that one I saw immediately, and it ruined the whole movie for me. So watching it over wouldn't do that for me at all. But Memento. Yeah, I rewatched Memento recently, and it's. It's a great movie. It's so well made. And there's little details and nuances. In particular, with Joey Pants performance, it's like, oh, yeah, there it is. He's doing it right there. And I didn't realize it at the time, because at the time, you're just trying to get your bearings.
Amin Elhassan
Dan, I went and watched the Odyssey yesterday.
Zaz
Did you understand it?
Amin Elhassan
Understood the entire thing. Now I figured out why you want to go see it twice. Good movie. I enjoyed it. Sat front row because that's all they had. Everything. No, at the. At the movie theater over by me and Mike's. The front row is actually better because it's like an entire bed and you can lean back the whole way. So I was looking at it basically from underneath like this.
Sponsor Announcer
I'd be afraid 10 minutes in.
Stugat
That's not a good seat. The front row.
Amin Elhassan
You guys don't get it. You guys don't get it. It's a couch. It's a bed that you get to lay. And they sit.
Mike Ryan
Tony.
Amin Elhassan
What?
Mike Ryan
I'm knocked out before the previews are over in that situation. What are you talking about?
Stugat
You're looking up. Oh, it's Damon's nose. His giant nose. You're looking up. His giant nose. That's not a good. Put it on the poll at Lebatard show. Is the front row ever a good seat in the movie theater?
Amin Elhassan
With a bed quotation. With a bed.
Zaz
You're moving your head left and right.
Amin Elhassan
No, look at.
Stugat
I'm right in the middle.
Amin Elhassan
I'm right in the middle looking at him laying down.
Zaz
It's great.
Amin Elhassan
It looks incredible. I watched it with, like, six old Cuban ladies over to the right of me. One was in. Ended up being in my seat. Thing is, as you go and you get the beds, you got to make sure you get two of them, because then you'll be sitting next to a random person.
Zaz
I don't understand what movie theater is. Beds. What are these beds you're talking about?
Sponsor Announcer
Do you mean just the reclining chairs that all theaters have at this point?
Amin Elhassan
You guys don't.
Zaz
Bed.
Amin Elhassan
Don't get it. The one by me and Mike's house. Like, they're just renovated it. It's perfectly, beautifully amazing.
Zaz
Your desk is stupid.
Dan Le Batard
I'll show you a picture of it.
Stugat
I mean, thank you for being on with us. We will talk to you next week, sir.
Mike Ryan
Yeah, one last quick thing about Tony Romo. I didn't get a chance put in the weekend observations. The OWI I like Zaz had to Google what's owi? That's operating while intoxicated. And the first thing I thought of was I didn't know he was a doctor. You have him surgery. He's like, let me get.
Stugat
I like it too. I. I said that out. I've got the loser game show sound right in front of me, but I don't have either the Kawhi laugh or the Hakeem Nicks laugh. I would have given him one of those because I. I pictured Tony Romo with the surgical drug gloves, but also incredibly drunk. Thank you, Amin.
Mike Ryan
And it's like, no, man, I'm getting my tonsils removed. Like, oh, my bad.
Stugat
See you later. Tony, let's get to your thoughts on the Odyssey.
Amin Elhassan
The movie was great, Dan. It was, it was a very fun movie from top to bot bottom. It felt epic. It felt big as the story is supposed to. You understood it understood the whole thing. Love the, the going back home and the journey. And sometimes you don't want to go back home because the, the memory of home is almost better than you actually going back. I had a huge pop when what I don't know what his name is in the, in the movie, but Robert Pattinson said, get these beggars out of here, pop. I was like, tenuous, whatever. You seen it seven times.
Zaz
He was a real coward.
Amin Elhassan
He was a real coward. I'm not going to spoil it, but certain things happen towards the end where, where he doesn't do something that he probably should get the shield. End up getting.
Dan Le Batard
You get the spear, get those spears, the sword. Pick it up.
Amin Elhassan
One, one part of the movie outside of get these beggars out of here that I think everybody popped in was when he plucks the bow at the end. Oh, wow.
Zaz
Dan, you know about stringing that bow?
Sponsor Announcer
Wow.
Zaz
Oh, does he know string a bow that Odysseus?
Stugat
You zaz are so interested in this that I. It's not something I have seen before. You're now going to go see it a third time. You're gonna go, probably.
Zaz
I'm obsessed with this movie.
Amin Elhassan
So the one thing that I saw that made me think of something, I was like, man, they were all in the ship. They're all doing Their thing. And it's like, what part of history would me and the boys go back and have an excellent time at? So I came up with a top five things of history that would be sick to do with the boys.
Dan Le Batard
All right, wait, you think that the Odyssey is historically accurate?
Amin Elhassan
No, it's not about historically accurate.
Dan Le Batard
Okay, well, you said history.
Amin Elhassan
The people from that time did exactly that thing.
Stugat
You think that war is something you'd like to do with.
Amin Elhassan
Say war. Didn't say war.
Sponsor Announcer
We'll see if it makes the top five.
Amin Elhassan
War is not part of the top five.
Dan Le Batard
I like this idea, though.
Amin Elhassan
It's things from history, things from the past that the boys.
Zaz
Things from history. Like the Odyssey. Sick.
Dan Le Batard
So why things like.
Amin Elhassan
Okay, now Mike's on to it.
Dan Le Batard
Okay. Okay. Yeah, no, that's.
Amin Elhassan
All right. We'll start in the olive. History being a part of the Apollo.
Zaz
Moon land.
Amin Elhassan
Imagine the boys out on the moon.
Mike Ryan
They're like, whoa.
Stugat
Oh, look at this, dude.
Sponsor Announcer
We're on the moon.
Dan Le Batard
You've opted for another thing from mythology.
Stugat
Yo, I'm floating.
Amin Elhassan
You imagine Chris.
Mike Ryan
Like, Chris, get over here.
Dan Le Batard
I see what you're doing. Things that didn't actually happen the first
Amin Elhassan
safari expeditions in Africa. It's like, what the hell is that thing? What is it next?
Stugat
So long.
Mike Ryan
What is that?
Sponsor Announcer
I'd want to do, like, the second or third one I don't want to do.
Amin Elhassan
The first one is sick. You and the boys.
Dan Le Batard
I don't want to do that. That.
Amin Elhassan
What's out there.
Dan Le Batard
Look, people steal them. I'm not down for that one.
Amin Elhassan
That does. See, that's. That's. Your mind's in the gutter. Joining the California gold rush.
Stugat
Are we still on oil?
Mike Ryan
That's just oil.
Amin Elhassan
I still just.
Stugat
So wait a minute. I think that you think some things that are sick to do with the boys aren't actually sick to do with the boys. Because here we are for months at a time, and it's just you and me. Yeah. And we've got a pan, and it's just prospecting and it's just dirt. We're not finding any gold.
State Farm Announcer
Yeah.
Stugat
But when we do, though, it's just. Tony, my hands are dirty, and I'm just getting sort of remnant of dust and crumble of rocks.
State Farm Announcer
Yeah.
Amin Elhassan
But then all of a sudden, you land that gold, and you're like, let's go.
Stugat
So successfully doing the gold, Joining the gold rush.
Amin Elhassan
Yes. That's why I said gold rush and not gold sifting. All right, number five. We'll go quick riding with the first cowboys across the American West. Okay, you're out there with all the boys. You're in the campfire cooking a little something.
Dan Le Batard
Look at those people. Kill them.
Amin Elhassan
The mike's doing this the wrong way. Okay, number four. Age of the samurai in feudal Japan.
Stugat
You're nuts, though. All of these things are terrible.
Amin Elhassan
Oh, you guys are doing here.
Sponsor Announcer
That's great.
Stugat
Cultural appropriated.
Amin Elhassan
Number three, being at the birth of Greg Cody centuries ago.
Stugat
All of a sudden we're there.
Amin Elhassan
Like, I can't believe we're here at this moment.
Dan Le Batard
I've brought myrrh.
Amin Elhassan
The birth of Greg Cody. Here's frankincense. Dan's got gold.
Dan Le Batard
He sifted. Number two, baby.
Amin Elhassan
Exploring ancient Egypt before the tombs were looted. You get down in the pyramids as like Indiana Jones.
Dan Le Batard
I know those things.
Amin Elhassan
That's what we're trying to figure out. That's why we're there.
Dan Le Batard
Built those.
Amin Elhassan
Number one, sailing into the unknown, looking for the new world. That's what made me think of the Odyssey. Dan, you're out there on the ship with the boys, and it's like it's raining. We gotta row this son of a bitch. Let's go.
Mike Ryan
Ooh, look, people.
Dan Le Batard
Let's kill them and seal them.
Amin Elhassan
Oh, this guy's the worst.
Stugat
Tony, you've just described terrible adventures. Horrifying.
Amin Elhassan
You guys are Weenie Hutchinson?

The Greg Cody one would cool?
Quince Sponsor Announcer
That'd be cool.
Stugat
Before medicine. Before medicine, no electricity. You think hearing your grandmother scream before epidurals, giving birth to your dusty, cobwebbed father.
Mike Ryan
You believe your brain beat me?
Stugat
You believe who won? The doctor grabbing your dad's head with the forceps. You think that that would be charming? Before medicine.
In this episode, Dan Le Batard and his crew dive deep into the evolving landscape of sports and pop culture, broadcasting live from downtown Miami. The main focus centers on a provocative question: Should the Golden State Warriors consider trading their iconic star, Steph Curry, and what would that mean for the team, fanbase, and NBA as a whole? Spirited debates on player legacies, the business of sports, and tangents into film and history make for a classic, lively hour on the show.
Notable Quotes:
This quintessential Dan Le Batard hour delivers a rollicking debate on the ill-fated trajectory of the Warriors and Steph Curry’s future, juxtaposed with trademark humor about movies, history, and the ever-absurd world of modern sports. The central argument—Curry’s unprecedented off-court value makes moving him nearly impossible, no matter what happens on the court—stands as a window into both NBA front-office realities and the show’s unique, holistic lens on sports culture.
