Welcome to the David Pakman Show. My name is Brittany Page from the page perspective right here on YouTube and I am the very lucky guest host for today. While David is off hopefully enjoying some much needed rest given he's the hardest working man in online political media. Let's just get right into it. It appears as though Donald Trump had a really rough holiday weekend. From the unhinged post on Truth Social to the word salad speech at the wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, he doesn't seem like a man who is doing well. And we're going to play a clip from the speech where he somehow finds a way to make the Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery about him. In a moment we're going to play that, but prepare yourselves because I was cringing watching it. It's so horrible. Before we play it, let's just quickly look at this post on Truth Social and then we'll get to the speech. This is how Donald Trump decided to start Memorial Day. Quote, happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds who allowed 21 million people to illegally enter our country, many of them being criminals and the mentally insane, through through an open border that only an incompetent president would approve. And through judges who are on a mission to keep murderers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members and released prisoners from all over the world in our country so they can rob, murder and rape again, all protected by these USA hating judges who suffer from an ideology that is sick and and very dangerous for our country. Hopefully the United States Supreme Court and other good and compassionate judges throughout the land will save us from the decisions of the monsters who want our country to go to hell. I mean, sometimes you just need to hear it from someone who's not him to understand how unhinged it is. I mean, paging Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson. I think there's a book here if they're interested. Maybe. Hopefully it never fails, right? The President of the United States giving a Memorial Day statement to the scum. Of course, this is what we expect from this person at this point. This is very in line with who he is. Memorial Day is a solemn occasion in the United States when those who died while serving in the armed forces are honored. We certainly don't expect Trump to behave appropriately on such an occasion because he never does. He isn't the focus, the attention is taken away from him and he can't tolerate that. But also he fundamentally doesn't respect the people serving in the military or those who lost their lives serving in the military. And it feels like a lifetime ago. But remember when the chief of staff, John Kelly, a Republican, not some progressive or liberal activist. John Kelly. This is what he said about Trump, while confirming reporting from the Atlantic about vicious and disgusting remarks Trump made about those in the military, including those who died. Quote, a person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat or spend years being tortured as POWs are all stuck suckers because there is nothing in it for them. A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because it doesn't look good for me. A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family, for all Gold star families on TV during the 2016 campaign and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America's defense are losers and wouldn't visit their graves in France. Right. But Republicans still fall in line, trip over themselves to prove fealty, show themselves to be servile pets. Servile pets with no bottom, to the depths of their obsequiousness. And with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the heavily eyelined Vice President J.D. vance by his side, Donald Trump attended a wreathling ceremony at Arlington National CE Cemetery, where he also gave a speech. And before he got into the meat of it and made it about himself, he took a moment to say this about Pete Hegseth.

Thank you to Vice President Vance, doing a terrific job. Thanks also to a man who has devoted his life to service members and veterans, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who's doing really well. He went through a lot, didn't he? But he's doing really well. He's a tough cookie. That's what we want, is a tough cookie.

Pete went through a lot. Quite the thing to say at a Memorial Day ceremony where families of fallen soldiers are sitting in front of you, especially when you're talking about the very consequences of Pete's own actions. When you say that he went through a lot. He went through a lot on his way to the halls of power. He, he had to deal with reports about sexual assault and abuse allegations. Poor guy. But don't worry, he's in there banning books about racism at the U.S. naval Academy. Guys, be serious. That certainly wasn't the worst of it. After Donald Trump mostly sticks to the script prepared for him, honoring specific families and specific fallen soldiers, telling their stories, having the children of fallen soldiers stand up to be recognized, things take a turn. In fact, I'm going to leave a little bit of context at the beginning of the clip so that you can see just how quickly he goes from scripted Memorial Day seriousness to, hey, guys, what about me?

We should never forget, even for a moment, that freedom is a gift of the highest cost and peace is won at the most precious price. These extraordinary American heroes, in their immense and ultimate sacrifices, they offer only the faintest glimpse at the infinite grace we have received from all who laid down their lives for America over the past 250 years. We're going to have a big, big celebration, as you know, 250 years. In some ways, I'm glad I missed that second term where it was because I wouldn't be your president for that. Most important of all, in addition, we have the World cup and we have the Olympics. Can you imagine? I missed that four years. And now look what I have. I have everything amazing the way things work out. God did that. I believe that, too. I did it.

He's talking about what God has given him. The Olympics, endless opportunity for celebration, when just two minutes prior to this, he had the children of a fallen soldier stand up to be recognized for their mother's sacrifice. And yes, the audience is clapping. I don't know what to make of that, okay, Because I find this horrifying. But if you think it stops there, you're wrong.

You know, I got the World cup and I got the Olympics. The 250 years was not mine. I'd like to take credit, but I got the Olympics. I got the World cup when I was president. And I said, boy, it's too bad I won't be president then. And look what happened. I turned out, we're going to have a great time. We're going to have a great celebration. But most important of all is the 250th anniversary that blows everything away, including the World cup and including the Olympics. As far as I'm concerned, in any corner of this cemetery, at any resting place for our war dead anywhere on earth, you'll find untold stories of equal heroism and heartbreak, unmatched patriotism and devotion and acts of selflessness and courage.

Okay? And then right back into the script, talking about the dead. Republicans don't care. J.D. vance and Pete Hegseth with their wide smiles and eager approval, do not care. Donald Trump continues to insult and disparage and show his disregard for even Those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, as he himself describes it, but only in a script written by someone else for him to read. When he's allowed to be himself, he shows what he really cares about. And it's. It's not going to change. And it's why we've got to keep our eye on the ball, keep showing up, keep the pressure up on our elected officials and fight our way out of this mess. Welcome to the Resistance, the New York Post. The New York Post, a conservative tabloid owned by Rupert Murdoch, part of Rupert Murdoch's conservative media empire. You wouldn't expect them to run an article critical of Donald Trump, but that's exactly what we're getting from the New York Post editorial board. They are out with a new warning for Donald Trump, and that is actually exactly how the article begins. Quote, a warning to President Donald Trump. Everyone, including your friends, is starting to get a brutal case of tariff burnout. This warning is in response to Trump's recent threat to impose a 50% tariff on the EU. He went from imposing 20% tariffs before cutting that to 10% for 90 to days on April 9 to then showing how he struggles with emotional regulation and posting on Truth Social last week that his discussions with the EU are going nowhere and they have been difficult to deal with. So he floated a 50% tariff to start June 1, only to announce on Sunday that he has now agreed to a deadline extension of July 9th. All of this seemingly part of the art of the deal, right? Put wildly unpopular policies in place, cause a panic, walk back, said, wildly unpopular policies claim victory, repeat, and don't take my word for it. Take it from the New York Post. Quote, it's more whiplash for those following closely. He keeps announcing prohibitive levies, then backing off and even brandishing landmark deals, only to seemingly go on the war path of again. It may make sense to him and his specific targets may get the message he's sending their way, but everyone else is trying to read what it means for themselves. Who feels confident they fully understand the strategy behind the tactics and does so enough to have a clear sense of where things will stand in six months. Good question. Not me. In fact, if any one of you out there want to provide some comforting prognostications for me, that would be great. The only sense that I have of the future right now is terror. So, in the words of Johnny Lang, please Someone lie to me, tell me everything is all right. It's what we need right now. But the editorial board is making the point here. Not only is Trump Trump's chaotic governance giving his critics ammunition, it's also scaring his supporters. Quote, import and export sensitive businesses, especially mom and pop places with tiny margins, many of whom are Trump's own supporters, can't plan or take risks when they don't know what's coming down the pike, which chokes entrepreneurship. And casual observers wind up fearing that he has no strategy, that he just pushes the tariff button when he's bored. It's one thing for your enemies to find you unpredictable, another for your friends to worry. You're acting on pure whimsical. All of this uncertainty exacts a cost of its own angst that builds with every surprise twist. They go on to note that 57% of Americans say that tariffs are hurting the economy. That 26% of Americans say they are the biggest mistake of Trump's second term. They're trying to appeal to Donald Trump's desire to receive applause and retain the support of his followers. The only problem there, as I see it, is there is seemingly little that Trump can do to lose at least a solid, solid percentage of his supporters. We've started to see some people peeling off as they realize the federal reduction in workforce meant them and their job or the free IVF Trump promised is not going to happen. And in other words, some people have found their empathy after their tragedy and it woke them up from the spell of Trump. But I guess the fear here from the again, the New York Post, is that more Americans will begin to feel the pain and will start to make the connection that that pain is directly related to policy choices made by Donald Trump to sacrifice them. And then Republicans will lose their power. The ultimate fear for Rupert Murdoch. A popular conservative tabloid has spoken. Now, where are the elected Republicans? The Friday night news dumps from the Trump administration have been frequent and substantial. Massive, one might say. Massive dumps. I think that's how Trump big massive dump. Well, we got another Friday night dump. We're just going to keep. Keep. We're going to keep going with it because we're already pretty deep in it this time from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He put out this memo late on Friday detailing new restrictions on reporters inside the Pentagon. And before we get into the specifics, this is part of a broader, ongoing attack on the media from the Trump administration to avoid accountability. At the start of the Trump administration, Pete removed the dedicated workspaces For NBC News, the New York Times, NPR and Politico instituting a new policy allowing Trump friendly media more access. Instead, this as evidenced by One America News Network, the the New York Post and Breitbart moving in. Trump's pick for the Federal Communications Commission, FCC Brendan Carr. Not only does he wear a pin of Donald Trump's face. Scary, horrifying stuff. He's also started investigations into pbs, npr, Comcast. And of course, Trump has specifically targeted PBS and NPR, trying to strip their their federal funding. I'm probably missing examples of other attacks, but what better way to show solidarity than to use NPR's reporting on this Friday night memo further restricting access to the Pentagon. Quote, the restrictions ban reporters and other media from many areas of the Pentagon un They're accompanied by an approved government escort. The restricted areas include the offices of Hegseth, his top aides, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Members of the press covering the US Military have historically had access to these newly restricted areas through past Republican and Democratic presidential administrations. Now, I want to give you a chance to take a guess about the rationale provided by Pete Hegseth for this move. Unprecedented restrictions on press access to the Pentagon. Why might we need that? Well, according to Pete, it's a national security issue. Quote, while the department remains committed to transparency, the department is equally obligated to protect the classified national intelligence information and sensitive information, the unauthorized disclosure of which could put the lives of US Service members in danger. Is this Signal loving goof kidding us right now? You. You want to protect classified national intelligence information? Then clean up your own act, buddy. You're the one firing off sensitive updates to all your pals on Signal like you just joined Twitter in the year 2009, posting every little thing you're doing to your timeline. Except instead of just standing in front of the microwave heating up my dinner, we've got serious and sensitive war plans. Hopping back to npr, quote, the Pentagon Press association, an organization independent from the US Government that represents journalists who cover the military, expressed deep concern in a statement shared with NPR. There's no way to sugarcoat it, PPA's board of directors said in the statement. Today's memo by Secretary Hegseth appears to be a direct attack on the freedom of the press and America's right to know what its military is doing. The National Press Club is urging the Pentagon to swiftly reverse course. The organization's president, Mike Balsamo, said in a statement Friday, quote, restricting access doesn't protect national security, it undermines public trust. Yeah, well, I think that damage has already been done. That ship has already sailed. How can we have public trust when our institutions are being run by these people? Pete Hegseth Having the position he does undermines public trust. We know the Trump administration does not want accountability and will do whatever it takes to ensure those who endeavor to hold them accountable are prevented from doing so. But it's it's important that we continue to again, keep our eyes on the ball and why it's so important to ensure you are supporting independent media, whether it's channels like David Pakman show or any other progressive commentator or organization doing important work. Shout out to David for allowing me back and shout out to you all. David has one of the best audiences in the game. We've had several recent examples of blatant self dealing since Trump took office. Most recently the Cryptograph dinner where people, people the White House refuses to name attended a dinner with Donald Trump. In order to gain entry into this dinner, they had to hold the most in the Trump meme coin, the top 220 holders during a certain time period were selected, with the top 25 given even more special access. I've seen some reporting, including this from CNBC, that attendees spent a combined $148 million to be there. And then of course, we also saw that Trump accepted this $400 million luxury jet. New reporting shows that it could cost $1 billion to turn this jet into the new Air Force One. Republicans tell us we can't afford to pay for Medicaid and snap. We can't afford to feed hungry children, but we can shell out a billion dollars to ensure Donald Trump flies through the night in style and doesn't have to feel bad when he feels sad about the appearance of the current Air Force One when it's parked next to other planes. Oh, a real thing that he's concerned about, by the way. But the, the grift doesn't stop there. We have new reporting from the New Yorker's Evan Osnos that there's a new secret, exclusive club where you can pay millions of dollars and gain special access to Donald Trump. In the article, it is described as, quote, outer borough mafia shit. Let's dive into this. Quote. When Donald Trump returned to the White House this winter, members of his circle set about creating an establishment that might suit their preferences. The president's oldest son, Don Jr. Was among the founders of a members only society called the Executive Branch. Open by invitation to those who can pay initiation fees of as much as half a million dollars. The Executive Branch, which has a coat of arms that combines a bald eagle with a monogram of the club's initials, offers a home to those who stand astride the MAGA ledger, the people who both fund Trump's initiatives and profit from them. A number of the co owners like Don Jr. Known less for their achievements in business than for their proximity to Trump. They include the cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Zach and Alex Witkoff, whose father Steve is Trump's Middle east envoy. And Ahmed Malik, a founder of 1789 Capital, a venture capital firm that is named Don Jr. As a partner. In April, Malik was appointed to the board of the government backed mortgage firm Fannie Mae. I spend a lot of time talking about homelessness, poverty, the poor and working class. You might get that from my background here. And I often think of a quote from one of my heroes, Barbara Ehrenreich, who said when the sides were drawn up between the powerful and the downtrodden, there had never been any question about where I stood. And I think about the kinds of people we should be putting into positions of power and the people that we have in positions of power. And I just feel rage. I mean, these men go into these exclusive clubs to connect with the powerful, to scheme about additional ways to explode their wealth, power and influence. And then they're out here slashing usaid, quite literally causing millions of deaths in the process. Slashing Medicaid. Snap. Did you see in the new budget they're going to get rid of subsidized student loans and they're putting hurdles on Pell grounds. People who will never have to rely on these programs, eager to strip them from those who do. Do you, do you feel rage too? I certainly hope so. Let's continue with this New Yorker reporting on the the launch party for this exclusive club. Quote, the guest list included an extraordinary range of officials from the new administration. Lobbyists from the pharmaceutical and finance industries were pleased to find themselves in close quarters with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence, as well as the chairs of the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, that's the guy who wears the Donald Trump pin. And the securities and Exchange Commission. One attendee later described it as an improvement over the scene at the Trump International Hotel, which was popular during the first term that was open. The guest told me you could find Rudy Giuliani pretty tipsy on any given night holding court in the lobby. The new club has higher barriers to entry. It's a sign of how Trump has filled his administration with people who can actually afford that, the guest said. It felt like a White House party, to be honest. Oof. Lobbyists pleased to find themselves in Close quarters with the most powerful is a sentence that makes me sick. It's also remarkable that people are like rating the level of access they're able to get from one pay to play event to the next. Here we didn't have as much direct access, but here we absolutely do. And it was great the days of, you know, imagine if Joe Biden did this. Imagine if Barack Obama or insert any Democrat here were doing this just does not matter anymore because it does not move the needle. There are not political consequences for this self dealing and until there are consequences it will continue. And just one more piece of the article here. Quote Even seasoned practitioners of Washington pay to play have been startled by the new rules for buying influence. In December, a seat at a group dinner at Mar a Lago could be had for a million dollar contribution to MAGA Inc. A super PAC that serves as a war chest for the midterms. More recently, one to one conversations with the president have become available for $5 million. Trump has sold influence so briskly that the political machinery cannot keep up. As long as you have the cash, you too can have easy access to those in the halls of power. And this article is it's long but I highly recommend reading it in its entirety. It isn't just about Trump's corruption. In it, the reporter traveled to the Fight the Oligarchy tour and shares his experiences meeting people who are first time Bernie rally attenders and how those people he met would report how many people they knew that regretted their vote for Donald Trump who see that Elon Musk for example is not concerned about their best interest. And this is the best we can hope for, right? That people start to see this corruption and self dealing for what it is, especially as they start to feel the direct pain that Trump inflicts on them. This article actually speaks to the importance of a unified movement against those in power. So I hope you have found a community of like minded people where you can join forces and protest or join in calling and pressuring your elected officials because we need all the help that we can get. With the hourly five alarm fires coming out of the Trump administration, it's frankly difficult to keep track of the constant stream of assaults on our Rights. It's part of why shows like this one, the David Pakman show, just in case you forgot that this is what this was given. I'm not David Pakman. It's why shows like this one are so important. It's part of why independent media is so important. Often things that may not make it to prime time slots in mainstream media are still prime time, prime time stories and they still need your eyes and your ears. And this story is one of them. We're going to get to a clip of Senator Patty Murray taking the new FDA commissioner, Marty McCary to task, specifically telling him that she knows he would prefer the administration's plans to go after the abortion pill stay under wraps, but that she isn't going to let that happen. And I hope, you, me, all of us, I hope we don't allow that to happen either, because this new, this new development is scary. A propaganda report that has been published claiming to illustrate the dangers of the abortion pill mifepristone just got published and it's already pushed the FDA commissioner to begin a review into mifepristone's safety. First, we have to, we have to say that the plans to go after the abortion pill mifepristone, they started a long time ago, after the fall of Roe. Realizing the power of the anti abortion activists and their true goals, we Learned through Project 2025 that the right wing wants to go further. They want to revoke FDA approval for mifepristone. And if they can't do that, as outlined in Project 2025, they want to use the Comstock act, an AMP, an anti obscenity law from 1873 that bans obscene materials from being sent in the mail, but also quote any article or thing designed or intended for the prevention of conception or procuring an abortion. And why, why would medication abortion be the next target here? Well, 63% of all abortions in the United States in 2023 were medication abortions, and that's up from 53% in 2020. This according to the research from the Guttmacher Institute. Most of these, as noted by the Institute, involve both mifepristone and misoprostol. A transition to misoprostol only would be safe and effective. But we shouldn't have to even worry about any of this because mifepristone is safe and effective. How safe? This, this is going to blow your minds if you don't already know this. I know David has a smart audience. You may already know this, but looking at data from the University of California, San Francisco, the advancing new standards in reproductive health. The mortality rate for medication abortion is 0.48 deaths per 100,000. Again, let me repeat that. 0.48 deaths per 100,001. This is a mortality rate lower than penicillin with a mortality rate of 2 deaths per 100,000 and Viagra with a mortality rate of 4 deaths per 100,000 users. But we're going to hear from Josh Hawley. Josh Hawley isn't begging RFK for a safety review of Viagra, is he? We're going to hear from rfk. RFK isn't shaking in his boots calling for a safety review on Viagra, is he? And going back to this data, the abortion pill is safer than pregnancy and birth. Reading from this research again, quote, the mortality rate for those known to have had a live born infant is 8.8 per 100,000 live births, which is about 14 times higher than the mortality rate associated with medication abortion. They don't seem particularly worried about this either. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has hand selected zealots eager to carry out the right's most pernicious goals for the anti abortion movement. And the latest news tells us that rfk, the new Secretary of Health and Human Services, and I believe the most dangerous of Trump's picks, is confirming that he has asked the new FDA director to do a review of mifepristone based on this brand new propaganda report from an anti abortion organization. Let's hear Republican Senator Josh Hawley get this confirmation from RFK just a couple weeks ago.

The policy changes will ultimately go through the White House. Right. This isn't about safety. This isn't concerns about health care. This is political. It is no coincidence that a propaganda report gets published just a couple of months into the Trump administration which claims overwhelming dangers associated with mifepristone. With mifepristone use, which is outside of scientific consensus, immediately prompting a review by the fda, by Trump lackeys. I mean, we all see the writing on the wall here. Just look at this website for the Ethics and Public Policy center, the organization that published this non peer reviewed, self published propaganda report attacking mifepristone. Here they list their priorities, quote, pushing back against the extreme progressive agenda while building a consensus for conservatives. Yeah, sounds like a non biased approach to research. This must be the new gold standard science we've been hearing so much about from Donald Trump. So this, quote unquote, new data is a convenient way to begin the next phase. Thankfully, we have senators like Patty Murray who are bringing this issue front and center. She questioned the FDA commissioner about the Trump administration's efforts to lay the groundwork to restrict access to the abortion pill. Let's watch.

Okay. Well, I am, of course talking about the sham study from the Ethics and Public Policy Center. It's an anti abortion group. It's bankrolled by extremists. They fought to overturn Roe v. Wade. And this study, if you can call it that, is unsound and has been widely panned by medical experts. Experts. But days after its release, you and Secretary Kennedy are now suggesting that we need a quote, complete review on the safety of mifepristone. Now, to be clear, mifepristone has been proven safe and effective in more than 100 studies over three decades. And the people that are now pushing that bogus study and saying that mifepristone is dangerous for women are the exact same people who think that abortion is never necessary necessary to save a woman's life and that 10 year olds should somehow be forced into childbirth. I believe that this administration is laying the groundwork to rip away access to medication abortion across the country. This has not gotten enough attention and I know you'd prefer to keep it that way, but I want you to know I'm not going to let that happen.

Actually, that's not true. But I will say this, Mr. Chairman, we have a lot of differences here. I know you came before this committee to present your side of the story. But I am very clear that laying off people, cutting budgets is not going to improve the safety and efficacy that we count on when we go to the drugstore to get our drugs. And I know that sham studies that try to prove a point that came from a political group is not going to tell the public that they can count on the medications they count on. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Did you note the strange defensive reaction there? There are several issues again with this propaganda report. I've already mentioned that it's out of step with scientific consensus. It's not peer reviewed, it's not published in a medical journal. They have not made the database they use to conduct their analysis publicly available or have even revealed what the database is. Their main claim is that 11% of those who took the abortion medication, mifepristone experienced a serious adverse event. But they included things like emergency room visits as serious adverse events. When it's a known fact that many women go to emergency rooms after medication abortions for any number of reasons, many of which aren't serious adverse events. They they could be making sure that the abortion worked. They could be going to ask questions about concerns about the process. I could go on and on. But I'm just going to leave you with one of the main limitations, and this one is so remarkable it's cited in this Washington Post summary of the report. This comment is from a spokesman for the organization that published the report. Quote, we acknowledge that a limitation of our data set is that it does not capture whether a patient actually ingested the medication, only whether it was dispensed or administered. Estes said, this is an inherent constraint of claims and administrative data. So this entire report that's being used to kick off an investigation into the safety of a medication that has been FDA approved since the year 2000 and used by over 7.5 million people. A medication that is safer than penicillin and Viagra and childbirth is based on some data set they won't reveal that doesn't even capture whether the medication was actually taken. I mean, what are we doing here? Please, I beg you, share this video with a friend. Share this with someone who needs to hear this message. Call Patty Murray and thank her for her efforts. Thank you for joining us here. It is not every day we get such a clear illustration of Republican hypocrisy, but that's what we have today in Texas. Texas is SB10, which requires public schools to display the Ten Commandments. Never mind that a similar law in Louisiana was struck down by a federal court is unconstitutional. Texas is ready to join the fight. The interesting piece of this is that SB10 passed the House in Texas on a Saturday with a final vote on Sunday. Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath and Sunday is the Christian Sabbath. And as one Democratic Texas Representative, James Talarico, pointed out, this act is at odds with the Ten Commandments Republicans want to force on public schools.

Boy, was she eager for that save, right? She doesn't remember saying that. You guys, she was sleep deprived. I mean, listen to those excuses. She was. She wants to force Ten Commandments into schools, into public schools in Texas, but she doesn't want that to be a reminder that God is watching. It shouldn't be an implication of pressure. It's just decorative. It's a decoration. Just like how it is for her, given the fact that she can't state what the commandments are off the top of her head and doesn't actually follow the commandments, in fact, laughs at the suggestion that she should so shout out to James Talarico for this important line of questioning, which may seem petty to some people, but I, I think it's important. It's an important exercise in exposing the hypocrisy of those on the right who want to hold the rest of us to a standard that they don't even apply to themselves. Donald Trump is continuing his attacks on Harvard, pretending to care about antisemitism. And this is something that I'm really struggling with, because Donald Trump does not care about antisemitism. This is a man who had dinner with Nick Fuentes, the most prominent white power activist right now. I mean, he's, he's the new Richard Spencer. You remember when Richard Spencer was the only Nazi that people could name? And we're not even talking about the connections to Elon Musk with his Nazi salute and the constant obsession with birth rates, which means white birth rates, and that we just had the fake white genocide conversation in the Oval Office the other day. I mean, we're still pretending that these people, the Trump administration, cares about defeating antisemitism. Let's hear the latest from Donald Trump speaking to reporters about his ongoing plans to attack Harvard.

Go after financial aid? Look, part of the problem with Harvard is that there are about 31%, almost 31% of foreigners coming to Harvard. We give them billions of dollars, which is ridiculous. We do grants, which we're probably not going to be doing much grants anymore to Harvard, but there are 31%. But they refuse to tell us who the people are. We want to know who the people. Now, a lot of the foreign students, we wouldn't have a problem with. I'm not going to have a problem with foreign students, but it shouldn't be 31%. It's too much because we have Americans that want to go there and to other places, and they can't go there because you have 31% foreign. Now, no foreign government contributes money to Harvard. We do. So why are they doing so many? Number one. Number two, we want a list of those foreign students, and we'll find out whether or not they're okay. Many will be okay, I assume. And I assume with Harvard, many will be bad. And then the other thing is, they're very anti Semitic. Everybody knows they're anti Semitic, and that's got to stop immediately.

We'll get a list and see if they are okay. And, and how do we see that going? The Trump administration gets their hands on a list of people and starts targeting people for op eds. They've written about the genocide in Gaza or other opinions they don't like. Anyone who has criticized Donald Trump is on the chopping block. This man becomes more dangerous with each day that passes. Just absolutely drunk with power. And there was a recent NPR article by Tom Dreisbach detailing the various Trump administration officials who have ties to anti Semitic extremists, including one you may remember because he dressed up like Hitler. He was an insurrectionist. He's been described as a Nazi sympathizer. He's a prominent Holocaust denier. His name is Timothy Hale Cusinelli. Well, three associates of Donald Trump have close ties to this guy, including the White House liaison to the Department of Homeland Security. His name is Paul Ingrazia. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correctly. He is not just connected to the Hitler mustachioed Nazi sympathizer, but he also attended a Nick Fuentes rally. What are we doing about Paul? Donald, you're going to defeat anti Semitism, right? NPR also lists Rachel Collie, the communications director for the White House Office of Management and Budget, for her ties to extremists. And then also Ed Martin, who is most recently known for his failed nomination to be the U.S. attorney for D.C. thank God. So I don't want to hear one more thing about anti Semitism until these remaining two people who have seemingly prominent positions in the administration are ousted. So earlier in the show we talked about the New York Post coming out and taking Donald Trump to task for his terrible tariff chaos. But now we also have Trump's alma mater coming out and warning of the damage to come from the House reconciliation bill. Trump loves to brag that he went to the Wharton School of Finance, but it seems like Wharton is not too fond of his plans for the budget. So let's take a look at some of these key points. Quote Tax provisions approved by the House Ways and Means Committee would extend and expand major components of the 2017 tax cuts and Jobs act, which we estimate will increase primary deficits by $4.3 trillion over 10 years. The bill would increase GDP by 0.4% in 10 years and 0.7% in 30 years. The average wage falls slightly in 10 years, but increases by 0.3% in 30 years. On a dynamic lifetime basis, lower income households and some in the middle class are worse off. Quite the summary. Falling wages, ballooning the deficit. Lower income households specifically highlighted as worse off and from Trump's own alma mater. The reality is that the Republicans in both the House and the Senate have no regard for how their budget plans will impact the most vulnerable, those on society's margins, those in the working class. They are in this to expand their wealth and power and the wealth of the richest in the country at the expense of the working class. And that's why it's more important than ever to ensure that you are calling your elected officials in the Senate as we begin this next phase, to ensure they know what your priorities are. Speaking of priorities, the priorities of this administration are made clear in many different ways. We have the gutting of Medicaid and SNAP to extend Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy is one major recent example. But his pardons also tell us about his priorities. We had the pardons for the insurrectionists, obviously. We had pardons for anti abortion activists who were convicted under the Face act, the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances act activists who in some cases committed violent and vicious assaults, including crushing a clinic employee's hand in a door. And now we have a pardon for a former Virginia sheriff who was convicted by a jury on federal bribery charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison. What exactly was he doing with this bribery scheme? Well, according to the Associated Press, he was, quote, deputizing several business businessmen in exchange for cash payments. Former Culpepper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins, 53, was found guilty on fraud and bribery charges and sentenced in March. But on Monday, Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that Jenkins and his family have been dragged through hell by a corrupt and weaponized Biden doj. The case is interesting because it comes down to who are you going to believe, the cops or the cops? Because during the trial, quote, Jenkins, the sheriff took the stand in his own defense and said there was no connection between the payments he received and the badges he handed out. According to news reports, testifying Against Jenkins were two undercover FBI agents who were sworn in as auxiliary deputies in 2022 and immediately thereafter gave Jenkins envelopes with $5,000 and $10,000 in cash, respectively. So the party that backs the blue prioritizes the story of the ones who are loud and public supporters of the president then? Sounds about right given that that is the case with Jenkins here. So as we've seen before, Donald Trump prioritizes a person who does not admit wrongdoing, does not believe that they did anything wrong.
