Well, Trump says the deal is done, historic and finished. Except nobody signed it yet. And JD Vance immediately starts lowering expectations. He says, you know peace isn't going to happen overnight. You've got to be patient. We've got to see what happens then. Trump's White House UFC birthday spectacle turns into a national embarrassment as a fighter, says Michelle Obama is a man. And Trump falls asleep during the fight only to be slapped away by Dana White. Even people beating the crap out of each other wasn't enough to keep Trump awake. Imagine if that happened to Biden. And then stunning conflict of interest as Trump's crypto venture is promoted during coverage of the UFC fight, it turns out that the fighters will get a bonus in Trump's crypto coin. It's disgusting. It's insane. It may be the most embarrassing moment for the United States in a very long time. And that's not even all of it. A Woman who loves Trump has her husband not. Has the husband of a woman who loves Trump is arrested by ICE and she says, I still love Trump. All of that and more today. Well, the war is finally over, right? Or is it? As we entered week 16 of Donald Trump's three to four week war, we were told we finally gotten a deal. We will analyze what is in that, but sort of funny and pathetic before announcing the deal. A furious Donald Trump on his 80th birthday goes on truth social media and flips out because they're yucking his yum. Trump posting quote this morning's attack on Beirut should not have happened, particularly on a special day when we are so close to a peace deal with Iran. Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the attack it was responding to was very small and meaningless. Nobody was hurt, injured or killed and should not disrupt this important process. We are very close to a deal that will bring peace to the region, including to Lebanon. And all sides should stand down. There should be no more attacks by Israel anywhere in Lebanon, but there should also be no more attacks by any other party, including Hezbollah, against Israel. This could be the beginning of a long and beautiful peace. Let's not blow it. Hours later, just before the dilapidated and humiliating UFC fight on the White House lawn was scheduled to start, Donald Trump goes back on Truth Social. Hold on, do I have it here? Where's my Truth Central? Exactly. Trump goes on troth and starts trothing like a maniac and announces with great fanfare and marginally acceptable syntax, grammar and spelling quote the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening. 888-call- now. Toll free. The toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz. And simultaneously here with authorize the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow. Ladies and gentlemen, the war is over. And then Trump continuing this great deal will bring peace and security to the whole region. Many presidents have tried to make peace with Iran and. And all have failed before me. The leaders of the region have for the first time found a president who can help them achieve real peace with the opening of the strait. Upon the signing of the deal on Friday. Oh. For purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the region and the world. So the deal is done. Except it isn't. No other president has been able to achieve this except Obama did and. And Trump canceled it. And Trump says we have a done deal. Except the signing hasn't quite happened yet. So that is not a done deal. That is an anticipated deal. It is the 40th anticipated deal of this 16 week war which was only supposed to last three weeks. It's sort of like infrastructure week before actually doing any infrastructure. Or we have a health care plan ready to be signed into law two weeks from now. And that was July of 2020. You do the math. So Trump loves treating the announcement as the accomplishment. Trump loves. It's sort of like when Trump signs an executive order, he considers that he's done something, but the executive order is just a memo. It's like, hey, I would like for someone to do this thing. And what exactly did Iran agree to? What exactly has the United States agreed to? What happens if either side violates the agreement? Well, those questions are secondary to nothing has actually been signed. What mechanisms for verification that the deal is being adhered to exist? We don't know. Donald Trump, desperate on his birthday, on the day of this rained out, mosquito ridden UFC fight, desperate to announce a deal that we can't even really evaluate yet. Now, as expected, stocks are reacting exactly as Trump wanted. As I am recording this, the Dow is up nearly 600 points. The Nasdaq is up over 600 points, which on a percentage basis is even more. Everything is soaring today thanks to Donald Trump's announcement. Now, I do think, and we're going to dig into this more, it's very important to remember that Donald Trump spent years attacking Barack Obama's Iran deal. One of the central arguments was Obama gave away leverage too early in the process. Trump is now publicly celebrating before anything is signed. This gives Iran leverage. Iran now knows Trump has already announced the deal. The deal is already priced into the stock market. The deal is going to increasingly be priced into oil prices, which I guess, let's just look at oil prices live, are down another 4% as of right now thanks to this announcement. So Iran now has the leverage of knowing Trump may need to accept terms that are not that great for the United States because he has already gotten all of the mileage out of the announcement. And if this falls through, all of these economic phenomena are going to reverse. There is a very long history of politicians declaring victory too early. And the danger danger is that you create this celebratory narrative before we even have any of the facts. Trump has sort of invented Schrodinger's Peace deal. It's simultaneously complete and historic and finalized and not signed and still subject to negotiation and, and a few days away. All of that stuff is happening at the same time. History judges the actual outcome, not the announcement. And one of the greatest bits of evidence that deep down see slightly more serious people know that there's a long way to go here is that even Vice President JD Vance said it's going to take a little bit of time. Let's take a Look at that.
C
J.D.
B
vance coming in to pee on the parade by saying, well, not so fast, Donald Trump. Is Trump going to have to crush J.D. vance for this? J.D. vance is essentially coming in to clean up Donald Trump's mess. As we spoke about just moments ago, Donald Trump announced that the three week war is finally ending after 16 weeks. Now, of course, the deal won't be signed until Friday, at which point we will be almost 17 weeks into this war. And, and will it really be signed? Well, we don't know. So in comes JD Vance and calls into Fox News yesterday as Donald Trump is getting ready for his birthday celebration UFC fight and says, well, hold on a second. I don't think this is exactly everybody singing Kumbaya. We're going to need to wait a little bit to learn the ways of peace. But this is a major step. So understand the contrast here already between Donald Trump saying it's over, we got everything, and J.D. vance going, well, I don't know, you're exactly right.
D
I mean, after the Israelis struck Beirut, we were very worried and we saw a lot of evidence that the Iranians were going to launch a large number of missiles at the Israelis. With our communication with them over the course of getting to this, to this signed peace deal, they assured us that they were not going to respond to the Israelis and they were going to sign this agreement and get to peace. Now, of course, you always have to verify these things, Trey. And we know that there are a lot of people in the Middle east who do, who do not want to make this deal happen. There's of course the Hezbollah terrorist organization, some elements of that organization.
B
This is a lot of caveats are
D
still threatening the Israelis. You have a number of different pieces that are moving. And as you know, Trey, sometimes these ceasefires take a little bit of the time to take root. People are very good over there at fighting each other. They haven't quite learned how to make peace. But I think under the President's leadership, we've turned over a new leaf. We're going to keep on working at it. I'm not going to say that everybody's going to sing Kumbaya tomorrow. It's going to take a little bit of time to learn the ways of peace. But I do think we took a major, major step tonight.
B
Yeah, we've taken a step. However, it's not done. We need to be skeptical, we need to be cautious. Nobody's going to be singing Kumbaya. People are really good at fighting over there. Let's see how it all shakes out. If the deal is complete, why are we still talking about how long it's going to take to get peace? Well, that doesn't really sound like a completed deal. And notice how sort of quietly JD Vance lowers expectations right after Trump raises them and goes, this thing is over. It's cleanup duty. Trump announces victory. And JD Vance comes in and goes, there's some uncertainty here. There's implementation risk. Major step is very different than problem solved. And so we've moved on in a matter of minutes from it's done and it's over to we are starting a complex and unpredictable plus process. It's expectations management. We know what it is, but we're sick of it because we're in week 16 of Donald Trump's three week war. Back to J.D. vance, who says this is the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran will never have a nuclear weapon if they deliver on their promise. Oh, so we don't really know yet, do we?
D
Well, first of all, I think it's a big moment for the United States of America. Thanks, of course, to the President's leadership and the hard work of the entire team. Three things that I think are important for the American people just to appreciate about what this deal does for all of us as Americans. Number one, this is the immediate opening of the Straits of Hormuz and of course, the lifting of the naval blockade that we've had on Iran along with it. The number two thing that it means is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon and not just pursue a nuclear weapon, but procure or try to buy a nuclear weapon as well. That's built into this agreement. And then the third thing is, and this only happens to be clear, if Iran delivers on their promise. And so there's an approach here where we verify and where there are real benefits so long as Iran meets there into the obligation. But if the Iranians comply with his deal, it is going to fundamentally transform the Middle east for the next 50.
B
Listen to the number of ifs there. If Iran delivers on their promise, if they stick to what's being proposed. Wow. So there is a lot of hypothetical here. This is still a contingent outcome. It's not even if we had signed the deal. JD Is setting expectations of Iran may not really comply. So this is conditionally conditional. It's admitting that it all depends on future compliance. If and when it's signed at the end of the week, depending on who actually goes and takes place now, what enforcement mechanisms are there, it's great to hope for a future outcome, but what are the mechanisms here? This sounds a lot more like a work in progress when you hear it from J.D. vance. And finally, the vice president asked, what about people who are worried about what this has done to gas prices as
E
this continues, but what is your message to the American people when their primary
F
concern is that price at the pump?
D
Well, I guess my primary message to the American people is thank you. Because of your patience, I think that we solved the problem, problem that has plagued this country again for, for well before I was even born, which is a terrorist supporting Iran that was pursuing a nuclear weapon. We are now at a place here where we can say with confidence, they're not going to get a nuclear weapon. And again, if they comply with the broader elements of the deal, this entire region, I mean, think about this. For 40 years, if you've heard about the Middle east as an American, you've heard about war, you've heard about terrorism, you've heard about the.
B
All right, so the message is patience. It's a very interesting message because patience implies, you know, people are feeling economic pain. Thank you for your patience. Is what airlines say when they know that everybody's pissed off because their flight is delayed, not when everything is going swimmingly. You don't say thank you for your patience when things are working perfectly. That's there's been a disruption. Thank you for your patience. There's been a delay. There's been an inconvenience. There's been a problem. Thank you for your patience. And so if gas prices were about to collapse, he would be able to say, these prices are going to come down so quickly. The way Trump has been saying. If this relief was imminently approaching, he would be able to say the relief is imminent. But instead it's thank you for your page patience. We've got a few more days until we figure out who's going to the signing that we believe is going to take place, at which point we will have to evaluate whether Iran complies. But Trump goes, it's over. Give me my UFC fight. Give me my birthday party. Give me my 500 point Dow Jones Industrial average pop in the stock market. And then in comes JD who he's incredibly inarticulate. And totally lacks gravitas and charisma. But he's being slightly more realistic about the prospects here and they are not so good. I hope that finally on week 16 or 17 of this thing, the war does end, but we still don't have a signed agreement. Even though they want their victory parade today. I do not believe that in some total sum total I've ever seen a more embarrassing and pathetic 24 hours for the United States and it was led by the egomaniacal desires of Donald Trump. Now I have some good news for those of us who didn't really want this thing to go well because it's so embarrassing. And the first thing, and I love it, is that the weather was a disaster. It was mosquito clouds of mosquitoes and torrential downpours which delayed Donald Trump's flood fight, which in a way led to the final fight happening really late, at which point Trump fell asleep. So it all came together in delightfully humiliating fashion. Here is a report about the rain delay. By the way, this is the White House. The background of this video is the White House. What an embarrassment. What a debasement.
E
Obviously the weather a major focus over the past 24 hours. I was just down at the command center and was able to speak to with Kevin Mahoney from DTN Weather Services, a private weather company commissioned by the ufc. They're working closely with the Presidential Weather Office and the National Weather Service, tracking a cell of thunderstorms over West Virginia that is set to move into the metro DC area between now and 9pm now, it is not rain that they are concerned with. It is high winds and lightning. And I am told that if that happens, a shelter in place will be
B
initiated and shelter in place on Trump's birthday. Oh, you love to see it.
E
Steve Trench, who is the VP of Global VP of Event Security, told me that each Department has a designated location. Those from the south lawn will come here to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. It is also the home of the fighters locker rooms. It's where I'm standing right now. I'm also told that that shelter in place was. Will be lifted within 30 minutes of the last lightning strike within a six mile radius now.
B
Anyway, so this is. It's really funny to hear them reporting about weather when for so long they have wanted to defund weather agencies. By the way, they were mad at the National Weather Service for the forecast. It's sort of like yell. It's the physical embodiment of old man yells at cloud. I'm angry that I am being told the weather forecast. So after that delightful humiliation, the whole fight goes down. Trump falls asleep. We'll get to that. After the whole thing they go to Dana White, the president of ufc, who has the. I don't even think I would call it audacity. He seems to have, have a total lack of awareness and wherewithal and goes, hopefully this was a unifying event for America. What? And they tune into the next one because International Fight Week is going to be fun too. So yeah, hopefully we created some unity in the country and in the world and brought in some new fans. You know, oh, this folks, they're. They're seeing this and just laughing hysterically at us around the world. Forget. Let's just go backwards a little bit. What on earth is unifying about taxpayer money going to an event on the White House lawn to line the pockets of Dana White, Donald Trump's friend, in another cronyistic fiasco while people are struggling to pay for gas, pay for groceries, pay for health care, wages are down, inflation is up. What is unifying about seeing the federal government get involved in this? That's bad enough, but then you know what's really not unifying? One of the fighters during the fight while being interviewed by Joe Rogan, saying, Michelle Obama is a man. Which is another one of these. They have these conspiracy theories they love, and one of the ones that the real MAGA pond scum love is that Michelle Obama is secretly male. And I don't know if it's like, well, she was born a man or they never explained it. Anyway, Michelle Obama's a man. Here is Josh Hokut on the White House lawn telling Joe Rogan, michelle Obama is a man. And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man.
D
Am I right, America?
B
Ladies and gentlemen, Moshell Obama is a man. Am I right, America?
E
Obama. Obama.
B
This is the guy that vomited on himself by the way, the day before the fight, because he showed up wasted out of his mind. Is there any good news here, I guess, that this guy is going to be paid in the currency of Trump's shit coin? Is. Is that the only saving grace here? This is disgraceful. On America's 250th birthday. And by the way, I guess Rogan finds it all kind of funny. Moshell, Obama is a man not the peak, not the peak of liberal democracy in the United States. If you're looking for any other good news out of this thing, I guess maybe it's that MAGA clown, Michael Chandler, a UFC fighter who loves Trump, got the crap kicked out of him. Like, I find this entire thing deplorable, but is there a silver lining there to some degree? I don't really know. But you know, we talk about the high moments for the United States of America when our institutions find or develop cures for serious disease, or under Kennedy, when we went to the moon, which the magus think was fake and staged. I mean, these people are just, they're the worst of the worst of the worst. We think about the, the New Deal era after finally we were on the right side of a war in World War II, and then FDR and the new Deal and we create Social Security and we've got an employment boom and the country comes together, these great moments. And then we have on the 80th birthday of the most corrupt president in history, in the middle of a war, in the middle of a health cover up, in the middle of all of it, a UFC fight on the White House lawn, during which one of the fighters says that the former first lady is actually a man. And Joe Rogan laughs. What a sad state of affairs. What a sad state of affairs. And you know what? Trump couldn't even be bothered to stay awake for it. Donald Trump, on his 80th birthday, was so asleep that he slept through a brutal beatdown happening right in front of him and had to be slapped awake by UFC President Dana White. I wish I were kidding. DONALD Trump turned 80 years old yesterday. He held a UFC event on White House grounds, a multimillion dollar handout to UFC President Dana White. He stayed up into the early morning hours because the entire fiasco was delayed by rain and storms. And then he fell asleep during a fight. And as a beatdown is happening in front of him, he has to be slapped awake by Dana White. Take a look at this. Trump is completely asleep as the speaker is happening. And then he slapped away goes, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that was great, Dana. That was great. We have another video of Trump completely and totally passed out during this thing, Folks. He's asleep. He's out. He's just sleeping. Donald Trump spent years convincing tens of millions of people that age, stamina and alertness are the most important qualifications for being President of the United States. He mocked President Biden as sleepy, tired old, low energy, incapable of handling the demands of the presidency. Trump created that standard. He said Biden can only do 10 to 4. That's not enough for president. If Joe Biden were shown sitting ringside at any sporting event with his eyes closed, head down, unresponsive until someone next to him hits him to wake him up, Fox News would be running that clip every hour for a week. They didn't even cover this. They have not covered the fact that Trump was passed out as a beatdown was happening in front of him at his birthday party. We all know how right wing media would react. There would be no nuance. There would be no, well, Trump's 80. He just negotiated a peace deal. It was 1:00am There would be no discussions about context. It would be, this guy must be removed right now. If it were Joe Biden or anybody else. Trump is now 80. His gait doesn't make sense. He swings his right leg and drags it. There are questions about stamina. He's reportedly structuring his day for. For serious work from 12 to 5. This was a nighttime fight. Trump can't do it anymore. It's too late for him. He does most events sitting now, not standing. These are the physical realities of being the oldest president ever in American history. And what is especially awkward is that this happened during an event that was essentially designed around Donald Trump's interests. It wasn't a policy briefing or supposedly, this is entertaining for Trump. I get it. It's another Cabinet meeting. He falls asleep, he's bored. It's another briefing. He falls asleep, he's bored. It's a business roundtable with 20 people taking turns speaking. It's boring. It's a Naito summit. It's a seven hour congressional hearing. This was what Trump wanted. It was a UFC fight at the White House for Trump's birthday. If there were ever a setting where you would expect Trump's energy to be there and for him to be engaged, it would be this. And they have spent years saying when Biden occasionally looks tired or disengaged, it's evidence of a much larger problem. If that is the standard for Biden, why isn't it a fair standard for Donald Trump. And if that standard was unfair for Biden, then maybe the right wingers owe a few people apologies for the years of the exaggerated coverage because they spent much of 2024 leading up to the election arguing that it shouldn't be a choice for Americans between two elderly declining candidates. Age matters, and Trump isn't an elderly declining candidate. Only Biden is. And now they're defending an 80 year old president who is asleep at his own birthday party. Grandpa fell asleep before they brought out the cake for him to blow out the candles. Are the people who spent a decade obsessing over every blink, stumble, pause and closed eye movement from Joe Biden ready to apply the same standard to Donald Trump? The answer is no, they are not. They were never interested in applying the standard uniformly. They were only interested in attacking Joe Biden. Trump had to be slapped awake at his own birthday party. Give me a break. The link is in the description. Donald Trump ran scams during his UFC fight. Now you might say, yeah, I know, David, the whole thing was a scam. It was a handout to his friend Dana White. No, no, no, no, no. Trump had other scams running during the UFC fight to make more money and they involve crypto. Let me explain. Donald Trump hosted what was presented as a historic event. UFC fight on White House grounds. Incredible partnership between government and brutal beat down league. I don't know why we needed that partnership, but I guess we did. President of the United States White House, Dana White, UFC fighting, the symbolism of the presidency and the symbolism of the White House itself. And it turned into a crypto promotion. Not after the event, not, you know, on some unrelated website that was streaming the thing during the actual broadcast. Now I'll remind you that USD 1 is a US dollar pegged stablecoin launched by World Liberty Financial. World Liberty Financial is the digital asset platform linked to the Trump family from which Trump and his kids have made ungodly amounts of money. And during the broadcast, lo and behold, there is an advertisement for Trump's crypto coin. Listen to this. Closed captioning for tonight's broadcast is brought to you by TrumpCoins.com the official UFC Freedom 250 special edition medallions rated by NGC, limited quantities available now at Trump Coins. Sorry, this is. I actually now I messed up there. There were multiple scams during this thing. So this is Trump coins. There is a limited number and blah, blah, blah. Okay, so this is scam number one now. And then there's scam number two. Now as I get into scam number two, which is the USD one, Remember that for years we were told Hunter Biden making paintings and selling them to people who might pay more because he's. Hunter Biden is the biggest corrupt crime in presidential history. They told us that. Okay? Every business connection involving a politician, especially if their name is Biden, is a scandal. We have a sitting president who is now selling commemorative coins, NFTs, all during a White House fight that he set up with his friend Dana White. They're not even making an attempt to hide the conflict of interest. And you know what? Why would they? Because the MAGA people don't give a damn. The conflict of interest is the product. It's that Trump is involved. And then it gets Worse, they move on to saying fighters will be paid bonuses through the Trump family's crypto company. Listen to this. Also tonight's $250,000 performance bonus in USD1 is presented by World Liberty Financial. USD1 is a digital dollar send money faster and cheaper available on leading exchanges. There you go. The $250,000 performance bonus to the fighters is paid in USD 1, a cryptocurrency that is part of the World Liberty Financial, which is Donald Trump's family's crypto platform. Imagine this under any other president. This is overtly the most corrupt event ever to physically happen at the White House and ever to be sanctioned by a President of the United States. Imagine for a moment, you know where I'm going.
E
Obama.
B
If Barack Obama hosted a sporting event on White House property for a league owned by his friend and then during the event ran promos and had product placement for his own family's financial venture, imagine if Malia Obama had a crypto coin and during the sporting event run by Obama's friend, they advertise Malia's crypto coin and they don't care because it's Trump. If this were Obama, forget about 24 hour coverage for six straight months on Fox News, it would be congressional hearings and it would be special investigations and it would be emergency press conferences and wall to wall outrage. And the reason this matters is not whether crypto is good or bad. I own some crypto. I've told everybody for now a decade I've kept two and a half percent of my net worth in bitcoin and as it goes up I sell down and when it goes down, I buy. I've just rinse, repeat, I determine that's my risk tolerance. It's not about whether crypto is good or bad. Maybe crypto succeeds, maybe it fails, maybe the coin goes up, maybe the coin crashes. The point is that the President of the United States appears to be using his public office to drive attention and business to a private financial enterprise connected to his family, which is partially responsible for his net worth going up more than $2 billion since he was sworn in in January of 25. The White House is supposed to belong to the public. It is not supposed to function as a marketing venue or to generate leads for Trump's businesses or to be an infomercial. And that is what they turned this into with, I mean look, with the Washington Monument in the background of this watch party, they aren't concerned about how it looks because they have determined, they don't even need to pretend that there's separation between the government and Trump's personal financial interests, the branding and the financial connections. It's all out in the open. It feels like a presidential event. And notice how it fits the pattern that there is a blurring of public office and private business. Even when Trump is clearly functioning as president at the White House, there's this like, well, hold on a second. The people visiting him are staying in his hotel, and he's got merchandise he's handing out to people at the White House, and he's got a media venture and a crypto project. And that line is essentially nonexistent. When does the question become how do we stop this blurring between Trump as president and Trump as businessman? And the answer is, they did away with that question when, before Trump was even sworn in the first time he brought out that stack of papers which might not even have had anything on it. And when I'm separating from my businesses, what? How you still know you own them. You know you own these hotels. What are you talking about? The White House holding the most corrupt event in American history. And maybe the most amazing part is the top line is now secondary. Like, there's a crypto scam. There's all these things. It's a UFC fight at the White House. That's the big piece of humiliating insanity. And that has become secondary, if not even tertiary. But all of this was happening as Trump was surrendering to Iran. And that's maybe the insane foreign policy situation which we have to address. Donald Trump partied and slept on camera late into the late night last night for his 80th birthday. And what was taking place at the same time is that the United States was effectively surrendering to Iran. David, what do you mean? I thought we got a deal. Well, we didn't get a deal yet. Trump did announce a deal which has not yet been signed. When will it be signed? Maybe later this week. Who will be at the signing? We don't know. What exactly is going to be in the deal? We don't know. But this was a surrender, a true disaster for a president. It is difficult to think of a more embarrassing series of events. And Trump was busy watching UFC until 1am to care. There's a great article in the Atlantic by Tom Nichols called Trump Celebrates while America Capitulates. The peace deal with Tehran is an Iranian victory, and it lays out the stakes very well. And the sort of contrast of June 14, 2026, Trump turns 80 and announces the war is over. As we already reviewed and analyzed, it is not exactly over. Yet he then goes to watch this absurd UFC fight on the White House lawn plagued by cronyism and rain and mosquitoes and crypto scams. We still don't know the full details of the Iran agreement because as always, the full text of it, the signing, it's just a few days away. But as Tom Nichols writes, just go back to the originally stated goals of this war. We would get a different regime in place. We are going to do regime change in Iran. Well, the Iranian regime is intact. It is alive and well.
A
And.
B
And it is negotiating with Donald Trump with a new leader so that one failed. The Iranians will still control the Strait of Hormuz in the sense that they can attack it whenever they want. And that is not going to be changing. Well, we are going into Iran to get rid of their ballistic missiles capabilities. Iran is keeping its massive armed drone and missile stockpile. Well, Iran will no longer be able to be a state sponsor of terror. Nothing changes there at all. And you know what? Billions of dollars in sanctions are expected to be lifted and the money will flow back into Iran. I want you to remember that Trump and his ilk pounded Obama for including a version of that in his Iran nuclear deal. It was hundreds of millions of dollars which the MAGA people said, Obama's giving Iran money. Now, they're not giving Iran money. They're lifting sanctions on money that is already Iran's. Trump's deal is expected to do the same thing to the tune of billions. Not hundreds of millions, but billions of dollars will be released to Iran under Trump. So that is a failure as well. So Iran had their regime survive. They kept their ballistic capabilities unclear on nuclear capabilities. We'll come back to that and we'll get billions of dollars in sanctions relief and frozen money back. What did the US Gain? I don't know that the US Gained much at all. Now, what Trump and others are going to brag about, this is the nuclear thing. They are going to say this now will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon if they sign the deal and adhere to it. Well, Iran already had agreed to that as part of the Obama nuclear deal. And until Trump got out of that deal for no reason, Iran was sticking to it. I know that Benjamin Netanyahu tried to present the case that Iran was not. There was no good evidence presented that until Trump got out of the Iran nuclear deal with the Obama Iran nuclear deal, Iran was not sticking to those requirements. We had the big accomplishment that Trump is now seeking under the Obama Iran nuclear deal. But as Barack Obama made Clear during an interview a couple of weeks ago. What Trump really didn't like about that deal was that it had Obama's name on it. We are in this mess to begin with. We are paying what we are paying for gas. We are seeing what we are seeing economically, foreign policy. The reason we're in all of this, the reason we're in week 16 of a three week war, is because Obama's name was on the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Now, the final element of the deal is what Trump is weirdly calling nuclear dust. It's a weird term. What he means is uranium. Uranium that is now believed to be below the rubble of the bombings. Tom Nichols writes, quote, the Iranians, however, are busily planting booby traps around the uranium to ensure it stays where it is. And despite hegseth blustering, America is not going to march into Iran and dig it out without Tehran's consent. If anything, the Iranians now have every incentive to sprint to a bomb and can do so with far less transparency than they had to endure under the jcpoa, meaning the Iran nuclear deal. This is a humiliating failure. Trump was partying at your expense on the White House lawn while Dana White made millions as this went on. Where are the Republicans in office calling this out? If you're sitting in Florida, or even in Florida, in Texas, in Arkansas, in Connecticut, wherever you're sitting, if you're saying to yourself, well, I don't like this, but I'm still going to vote to reelect my Republican member of the House or Senate, remind yourself that your member of the House or Senate has said nothing about this corrupt, cronyistic disaster at the White House being used with your taxpayer money being used to fund it. So they deserve to be voted out just as much as Trump does. Think about that as absentee ballots start getting sent out just weeks from now and we start to vote. If you've been paying attention to recent events, you've seen how the line between church and state is blurring. How religion can be brought into public life in ways that raise real constitutional questions. That doesn't just affect one issue. It shapes policy, it shapes rights and how power operates broadly. Our sponsor, the Freedom From Religion foundation, works to protect separation of church and state because it protects you and it protects me. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States, the question isn't just what we celebrate, it's what do we defend? Visit ffrf.us/david or text My Name, David to 511511 to learn more or to join because protecting that separation protects our rights. The info is in the description text. Fees may apply. In another one of those incredible stories, a Trump loving woman voted for Donald Trump and later ICE arrested her immigrant husband during their honeymoon at Trump's golf club. I don't even think Kafka esque is enough to describe this situation. We are talking, of course, of Brian Jose Rojas. Gallofre decided to give his wife what she really wanted for their honeymoon, which was to see Donald Trump in the flesh. She loves Trump. She voted for Trump. They figured out, listen, there's a Republican retreat happening at Donald Trump's Doral Golf Club in Florida. So they were clever. They booked rooms at Trump's club. They take a beautiful road trip from Wisconsin down to Florida. They go to Trump's hotel where ICE detains him and puts him in an ICE cage for three months. He was accused of being in a gang. He was threatened with deportation to El Salvador. He lost his job. He lost his work permit. The family has lost their house and car. They spent the 401 money they had and they are now in debt. It is another example of Trump destroying a family. Sort of. An ironic side note, his wife's name is Socorro Saragossa. Socorro means help in Spanish. It's almost like sos. Her name means help, help, which is very apropos of the situation. Now let's be very clear. The guy really did everything right. We're going to get to his civil infractions in a moment. But he came here during the Biden administration and turned himself in to Border Patrol. He didn't try to hide in the country. He requested asylum, saying, I am fleeing Venezuela for political reasons. Border Patrol processed him and released him into the United States. While working on the asylum application, he got a job working at a brake disc factory. He was paying taxes. He was earning 29 bucks an hour. He was promoted to supervisor for his good work. He was a productive member of society, doing things correctly. He marries an American woman. He then says, hey, now I can adjust my immigration status because I married a citizen. He did it all right. They get to Trump's golf club. Under a car seat, there's an air pistol. This is. It's known as an airsoft gun. These fire plastic pellets and they're used for recreational purposes. And his wife said she carries it for personal safety when she drives alone. It looks like a real firearm. It's not. It does fire these pellets. Okay. Authorities also found a metal marijuana grinder in the passenger side glove compartment. And so the couple was arrested by local pd, charged with a count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. They pleaded not guilty. That case remains open as of right now. But this combined with seeing the guy's tattoos, the situation escalates. Allegations of gang membership, all of this stuff. Now their lawyer has said, we are really talking about civil infractions here. This is not an appropriate immigration outcome as a result. And what's important to remember is that Donald Trump loves to talk about and said during his campaign, we are going to go after burdens on American society. We need to do something about the people that are holding back and dragging down society. This guy did everything right. He was working, he was paying taxes. And after all of this, you would think, well, I'm sure now his wife no longer loves Trump. Right. She no longer supports Trump.
C
Wrong.
B
She says after all of this, her feelings towards Trump haven't changed. She still loves Trump. She's happy to have voted for Trump, Quote, I don't think anything bad about the president. It wasn't his fault. It was our fault. Oh boy. And listen, it certainly is their fault that they chose to go to Trump's golf club in the circumstances they found themselves in. That you could say is their fault. That was their call. But this is another example of Trump destroying families with policies that are not making us any safer. We are no safer because this guy was arrested and thrown into an ice cage for three months. We're just not any safer. There's, there's no evidence or factual basis you can point to, to say the country was made safer by detaining and arresting this guy and ultimately charging him. Just not the case. Now, you might think all the way back to when Donald Trump was asked about, well, how who are you going to target? And Trump goes, you know, we're going to target criminals, nasty people. Now, it'll probably happen that like a mom or a kid is somehow swept up in this and then people are going to be all upset and, you know, I'll get criticized. But no, no, no, we're going to really target the burdens, the criminals, etc. Well, we know that that's not happening and we know it's not happening because of story after story like this and the reality that there simply aren't enough of these so called criminal illegals in the country to make the quota that the Trump administration wants to make with regard to detaining, imprisoning and deporting undocumented criminal aliens as they like to call them. The numbers simply don't work. We knew that all along. And, and we predicted, a lot of people predicted that they were going to just start wrapping people up wholesale, whoever they could find.
D
The.
B
On a personal level, the kind of cognitive dissonance here where they blame themselves only and she still loves Trump is a reminder of the whole, I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and I wouldn't even lose support. I support Trump. Oh, yeah? What if he arrests or maybe even deports your partner? Well, that would be our fault. I would still then support Donald Trump. Now there's another layer to this, which is I wish support didn't depend. You know, sometimes we talk about these Republicans who are like anti gay their whole career and then all of a sudden they have a gay niece or a gay nephew or kid or something like that and they go, well, this really made me see the light. At least in those cases they are revising their views. That's actually better, the people who are in that situation and go, I'm not even going to reconsider my perspective based on learning more about how this actually works. I think that they are actually even worse. A sad, tragic story again of a family ruined by Donald Trump. The policy never made sense, but Trump did promise at least some elements of this, and people fall for it, thinking, it's not going to affect me. MAGA influencer Riley Gaines was caught on camera taking direction as to what to say to her dumb, gullible fans. Take a listen to this. Here she is getting her talking points. What issues do I feel really strongly about? And then they tell her it is all an act, ladies and gentlemen. Listen to this.
F
Wait, tell me the pillars again. So it's pro life,
B
First Amendment, Second
F
Amendment of life and veteran. Okay, and first, second. Yep, yep, yep, yep. Cool.
B
Tell me the things I feel really strongly about again.
F
The First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the sanctity of life, our veterans, the Amimna, feel very passionately about. Do you guys, if you're going to talk about. I mean, you hate to even call them political issues, but do you specifically say like the left or the right or is that something you try to kind of refrain from? Like, if I were to say something to the effect of like, the left is still doubling down.
B
Yeah.
F
Okay.
B
Am I allowed to say this?
E
I've heard you introduced from the beginning.
F
So. Okay, first, that's why, that's what I needed to figure out really quick is when I first. I mean, definitely over a year though, I would say. Can I just say that like around two years ago. Wait, tell me the pillars again. So it's pro life, First Amendment, second amendment. Okay. And first, second. Yep, yep, yep. Hello, my name is Riley Gaines, and I'm a very, very proud Patriot Mobile user, and I have been for about two years now.
B
Oh, my God. Wait, Tell me, David, what do you feel really strongly about? Well, let me check my notes. This is not a story about memorizing talking points, okay? If you come to me and you go, david, what do you care about? I would go, listen, I care about having an economy where people can afford a decent life with a decent job, ending the scourge of potentially going bankrupt over medical expenses. We got to get everybody health care. Let's bring the country into the 21st century. We need to do infrastructure in a serious way. We need roads, bridges, airports, train and electric vehicle infrastructure. That's just what I believe. Quite simply, I don't need to be told that I care about this stuff. Riley Gaines has made a living touring the country with this anti trans thing that she's been doing. And this is how you might be saying, who the hell is this woman? She was made famous because back in 2022, in the NCAA Women's Swimming Championships, the 200 yard freestyle, she tied for fifth place with Lia Thomas. Lia Thomas is a trans woman. Neither of them won the event. Neither came in second, neither came in third. Okay, they tied for fifth place. And she, and she was championed by Donald Trump, became this poster child for, this is how men and women's sports are ruining everything. She didn't finish second to Lia Thomas. She didn't lose a championship because of Leah Thomas. She tied for fifth place. Her. I think Riley Gaines highest individual finish ever was fifth place. And that is how she came to prominence with this anti trans stuff that was based on, wow, she must have been really robbed or some. No, no, she tied for fifth place. Okay, so she becomes prominent because Donald Trump champions her, brings her up at rallies, all this stuff. And then they develop kind of a personality around her and she gets paid deals and all this different stuff. And then they go, here's the things you have to say really matter to you. The First Amendment, the Second Amendment, pro life, and whatever, whatever the other one was. I can't remember what she supposedly cares about. This quite literally couldn't happen to. I'll speak for myself. It couldn't happen to me because I have an actual internal monologue about what matters and what I care about. And I can articulate that. Oh, I'm supposed to Pretend to be a libertarian now. Got it. Give me the talking points for that. No. And the reason that this clip is so damaging isn't because people prepare. Everybody prepares. Come on. The issue is the brand that they are selling is authenticity. Riley Gaines got screwed by men in women's sports, and she's out there advocating for these values that she personally cares about, speaks common sense, just tells it like it is. And then we've got a video of her being fed what to say. Quite literally, she isn't primarily being presented as a policy expert. She's being presented as a grassroots truth teller. If the whole thing was like, hey, my issue is, here's how we tax the rich, it makes sense that you would kind of go over, okay, here's how we do it. The rich don't earn wages, so we got to go after capital gains. But then oftentimes they don't sell their stuff, and then there's no taxable event. So what about a wealth tax? It's a conversation. And I'm getting so agitated by this that I just hit my microphone. And I apologize to the headphone wearers for that. This is all manufactured. It's not, let's think through deeply, the best way to make a policy effective. And the incredible thing is they love to say that left wing activists are manufactured. And then a clip comes out where it is abundantly clear that her whole political Persona is being manufactured by someone off camera who's giving her the lines. So this is. This is a serious issue. Now, I interviewed Ashley St. Clair, one of Elon Musk's baby mamas and former anti trans maga activist, a couple of weeks ago, and she told us how it all works. And most of you wanted to hear from her. Some of you said, you know, why the mayor culpa. Now, she's doing this because the bottom dropped out. She needs money, whatever. Listen, she gave us some insight into how it works. And she said a lot of these influencers are not actually advocating for the things they care about, or they might not even care about stuff. They're just being fed a Persona. And now we've got the proof of it here with Riley gaines that Ashley St. Clair was being honest about how this all works. So this is pathetically disgusting stuff. She got caught. I think this is probably the end of her career. Although, who knows? Stranger things have happened. And it is a reminder that a lot of your favorite influencers don't even care about what they claim to care about. I'm talking about people like Riley Gaines. How deep is this going to go? Because the next step, obviously, is a candidate that doesn't even actually care about what they claim to care about. And on some level, I think this already exists. I think there are elected officials who play up how much they personally care about certain things because it's useful for fundraising or for getting media attention. But you could, you could see a completely contrived candidate from the ground up. And the concern is people fell for Riley Gaines. They'll probably fall for the candidate as well. In a way, Trump is that candidate because he claimed to care about the average person when he really doesn't. I'm thinking more issues based on but the concept of Trump is the champion of the every everyday person is a completely fabricated thing that was sold to tens of millions of Americans who fell for it. We will talk on the bonus show today about an incident where Trump reportedly was angry with the late Charlie Kirk because Charlie Kirk kept talking about Jeffrey Epstein. Very interesting. We will also talk about Britain banning under sixteens from social media apps including TikTok and YouTube. And Donald Trump says oil prices are going to drop like a rock. This episode of The David Pakman Show offers a comprehensive, unflinching look at what Pakman characterizes as “the most embarrassing and pathetic” moment in recent American history. Through detailed breakdowns of Trump’s Iran “peace deal”, the farcical White House UFC event, blatant cronyism, performative influencer culture, and heartbreaking policy failures, Pakman argues that the normalization of corruption and incompetence under Trump’s leadership has pushed the nation further into disgrace on the world stage.
For listeners, this episode provides not only factual analysis of recent developments but also a sharp cultural critique of hypocrisy, performance, and the erosion of democratic norms in the United States.
