Hey everyone, it's Dr. Josh Axe and today I'm gonna be bringing you something really powerful. Recently I had the honor of speaking at the Health Optimization Summit. This is one of the largest summits in the entire country where I shared my personal story of how to heal from everything from cancer to autoimmune disease and promote longevity. And I talked about the miraculous way God healed my body and can help heal your body. This talk goes beyond other things you've heard me talk about. I go really in depth on the healing diet ever created on the top nutrients and herbals and therapies to help reverse disease at a cellular level. If you want to heal your cells and reverse any condition and optimize your health and longevity, I believe this is one of the most important messages I've ever shared. So whether you're struggling with fatigue or chronic illness or just want to live with more energy and purpose, I hope this bonus episode encourages you and equips you with real tools to reclaim health. And I want to mention this was an event that people paid a lot of go to, but I did want to offer it for free for you right now while this video is still up. Take a listen to this right now.

It is great to be here. I love Europe. I love being in London. I Was doing tea yesterday with Dr. Will Cole over there and another friend of ours, Chris Motley, and sending my wife pictures from the Ritz Carlton. We were doing tea time and she was very upset, very upset. And she immediately started texting me plane tickets to fly back here actually in about four weeks. So we may be back very, very soon. And, and my daughters, my. My daughters love it here as well. I have a 2 year old and 5 year old at home and they are big foodies. And my whole family's mad at me right now that I'm. I'm here and they're not. So we're, we're gonna be making a trip back here soon. Okay? Today I'm gonna be diving into how to reverse irreversible conditions and how to heal body, mind and spirit. And I was in a situation about three years ago where I went from being in really great physical shape to losing over 40 pounds and having my life on the line. And it all happened via. I went in for a natural health procedure, just a really simple medical procedure, and something went wrong during the procedure. I had a back pain. I had injured my back trying to do too much. Sometimes I think health enthusiasts probably do that. We try and push our body a little bit past where we should. And I was doing that with weightlifting, doing some Olympic level lifts, and ended up herniating and bulging some discs in my back. And I did a lot of things to help recover and heal to the point where I felt like I was about 95%, but still had a little bit of a nagging issue. So went and got a procedure done using my own cells. But something went wrong. And we were living between Nashville, Tennessee and Puerto Rico at the time we were in Puerto Rico and. And after the procedure, I just felt worse and worse and worse, and the pain was just crippling. Finally one day I woke up and I just. I couldn't move. I mean, it was. The pain was just so bad. I had to have an ambulance come pick me up. They brought me, got an mri and the report came back that had a spinal infection. And the infection had gone from my disc into my bone. My whole L5 vertebra was lit up. I'm not. Some of you may be able to tell here. You see that kind of white area there on the mri kind of here in this area here. And that was an infection that was actually in my bone. And then there was an abscess by my spinal cord. And so I had to take a medical flight. They put me on a gurney on A plane flew me from Puerto Rico to Florida and I met with an infectious disease doctor who said, Josh, this is way beyond serious. You could die from this, but most likely you're going to be permanently disabled. And for me, being in the health and fitness industry for a long time, this is happening three years ago and getting this diagnosis, I was, you know, I had 48 hours where, because this diagnosis was so serious and I know how bad this infection was, I kind of felt like my, my life is over in a way because I had gone from being so physically fit and active to him telling me, you're most likely going to have to have rods put in your spine, have your spine fused. And what's crazy is, I mean, just a couple months before I was throwing my 2 year old daughter in the air in the pool, I was cycling, I was running, I was, you know, lifting weights and just had just a minor injury. And to go from that to this was very hard. So 48 hours, very mental battle. And then I just spent some time in prayer and I felt like God really impressed upon me that I would be healed completely. And for me, I always listen to the great physician more than any other physician. And so that's sort of where I put my hope and my focus on spending time in prayer and focusing on everything I could to regenerate and heal. And so that's what I did. And so I started reading studies on how do you regenerate and heal tissue? And I came across a lot of different things and some of the things I knew about, but there are other things I really dug into deeper. One of the things was hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I spent a lot of time researching a lot with red light therapy, a lot with peptide therapy, stem cell therapy. And I did everything I could to heal. I mean, I was in a hyperbaric chamber like every day for 90. I was doing IVs. I mean, my, you know, I was doing Jensen Silver, I was doing methylene blue. I mean, for, for 90 days, my, my urine was just, you know, bright blue and doing everything I could to heal. And I went through this process. And by the way, it took me an entire year before I walked again. So all of 2020, half of 2022 and a lot of 2023, I didn't walk at all. And, and, but I just kept going and going and going. And you can see, this is my post MRI right here. You can see there's absolutely no, no sign of infection. In fact, the radiologist was saying, we've never seen a Disc heel like this before. We've never seen a back heel like this before. And the thing that was, that I was aware of is the other person I knew who had gone through this same rare issue had to have their spine fused. And so that's typically what has to happen. And through the power of God, the power of regenerative medicine, my body was able to completely heal. And so you can see here, this is just a little bit after there with my daughter. Once I was finally up and walking again, back in the pool together. And so I share this story to share this. Your body has an amazing capacity to heal, no matter what you're struggling with. Maybe it's an autoimmune disease, maybe it's inflammatory bowel disease. Maybe you've been diagnosed with what doctors call an incurable, irreversible condition. I'm here to tell you your body can heal in an incredible way. Your liver is new every single year. At the least, if it's injured, it can regenerate in 150 days, 100% completely new. Your intestines every three to five days. Your stomach two to nine days. Your bones six to eight weeks, muscles three to four weeks. If you get it in its perfect healing condition. Now, sometimes as we age our body, the condition, the environment becomes less friendly for complete regeneration. However, today there are so many things you can do via the power of food as medicine. Peptides, red light therapy, oxygen. Things you can do to get oxygen in the cells, get nutrient in the cells, drive mitochondrial regeneration and completely heal your body. And I've experienced this. I have a. I have an online practice where I see thousands and thousands of people and we see on a regular basis people who have autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's thyroiditis. And their doctors have told them, you've got, you're gonna, this condition's irreversible. You're gonna have to be on this pill the rest of your life. They completely reverse it, get off all their medication. I see it with type 2 diabetes consistently, I see this. We see this with a lot of autoimmune disease, IBD, cancer. I experienced that with my own mom in reversing her cancer. And so all that being said, if a doctor ever tells you you have to be on this drug the rest of your life and your condition's irreversible, 99% of the time, it's incorrect. Your body can heal. Now, one of the areas of medicine I'm incredibly interested in supporting people in is reversing organ age. So Many of you have heard of biological age or chronological age where maybe you're like, I did a recent test and I'm 44 years old, but biologically closer to early 30s, like 34 years old, based on my cellular health and. But now we can actually do tests to see how old are your individual organs. And there's a study out of Stanford University and they discovered that there are. You can look at certain biomarkers together and determine organ age. And based on that organ age, it's a great predictor of mortality and longevity. So for instance, in the study, they found that if you have certain markers for heart disease, as you'll see here, somebody with an older heart has a 250% higher risk of dying of heart disease. Somebody with an older brain has 180% increased risk of having brain issues. I can tell you I had my father in law passed away about a year and a half ago, 60 years old, physically fit, but had a heart attack. And for him, you know, going back and looking at sort of some of the warning signs with him, he, I believe the rest of his body was fairly healthy. His heart was just aging too quickly. So one of the things I'll get into here at the end is how do you reverse the age of one specific organ system? Because most people, your issue isn't that every single organ is unhealthy. Most of you have one or two organs. They're age, aging faster than your other organs. And your focus should be on a form of personalized medicine to help you reverse the age of that organ. And that's what we're going to go through some today here as well. If you think about it like this, I believe the Bible is clear on this. I believe the scientific literature is clear on this. We were Created to live 120 years with great health. The Bible talks About Moses was 120 years, his eyes did not dim, which means he was physically able to actually bear children at 120 years of age. We see today, we've seen people live to be 117 years, possibly somebody who lived to be closer to 120 to 122. So it is possible for us to live 120 years. However, most people are doing about over 40 years of damage to our cells and organs. To where in the United States and Europe is very, very similar to this, but about 77.8 years. That's called about 78 years. And men is less than that. Women are a few years longer than that, but on average 77.8 years. So we're doing 42.2 years of damage to ourselves, if you think about it in that way, in terms of poor diet and a number of other factors. Now, here are four keys to cellular regeneration and healing your body that you have to focus on. And we're going to go deeper into some of these things. We need to reduce toxicity, optimize your nutrient absorption. We need to focus on boosting cellular energy. And then here's the key. This is so critical. You need a personalized diet created just for you. I mean, this is something I learned very early on in practice that somebody, if I have a patient come in with inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune disease versus I have a cancer patient come in, their diet should be radically different. I'm in a cancer patient. I will tend to do things like certain juice vegetables, and I will do some raw foods and things like that for healing ibd. I would never give them a single raw food. You know, it's all soups, it's all herbal teas. And so a lot of people like. And this happens even in the longevity and wellness industry. We see everybody's going carnivore, everybody's going keto, everybody's going vegan, everybody's going, whatever this new diet is, that's not the best way to heal. And just because you had a friend go carnivore or a friend go keto and it worked for them, does not mean that same diet's gonna work for you or created and designed specifically for you. When you look at the oldest forms of medicine, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda practitioners were able to read a tongue, look at symptoms, feel a pulse, look at what was going on with that individual person, and customize a diet just for them. I know this is something that I do today in my clinic. I know Dr. Will Cole, a friend of mine, this is something he does in his clinic. But very few practitioners really dial it into that degree. And that's what everybody needs if they're going to fully heal and be at their best. So let's start here with toxins and go over one thing we need to eliminate, and that's toxin overload. PFAS are so prevalent in modern society that 99% of Americans have them in their blood. These forever chemicals, everybody. Another study showed that umbilical cord blood in children, 99% of them had chemicals that they were getting via, via the umbilical cord. Over 80% of people in the United States have had recent exposure to glyphosate. According to Recent biomonitoring studies and the average American consumes a staggering 22 teaspoons of sugar a day. And nobody thinks 8, 22 teaspoons of sugar a day because you're not like, well, I'm not sitting there like lapping in like teaspoon, teaspoon, teaspoon. But it's in ketchup, it's in pasta sauce, it's in lunch meat. I mean it is hidden everywhere. And so, and sugar is really a metabolic toxin in terms of, there's a. So the idea here is a little, of course, sugar you're going to find in fruit and those sort of things are fine. Added sugar is the problem. So we see this toxin exposure. We've got metabolic toxins like sugar, processed seed oils. By the way, it's not all seed oils. Sometimes we say all seed oils are bad. Flaxseed oil is not bad. Raw pressed sesame oil is not bad. I mean, you know, so there are some good seed oils. Chia seed oil is fine. So you can do some seed oils if they're cold pressed in quality seed oils, artificial sweeteners, pathogens, these are toxins to our body. Epstein Barr virus, long Covid mold, parasites, bacteria, environmental toxins, pesticides, all these things here. And then here's another one that people forget. And this is something I'm very adamant about as I've worked to help people heal. And that is negative mindset, childhood trauma, not dealing with those issues of the past. Vices, addictions, negativity. These things make us sick. I've spent a lot of years studying the Bible, studying German new medicine, studying Chinese medicine and understanding how do we heal the root of illness. And I actually believe of all these things I could list, the most damaging to our physical health is our spiritual and mental health, which we'll talk about a little bit today as well. So here are the top five ways, just really simple ways everybody can reduce toxic exposure. Okay, filter your water. I did a podcast episode on this. You should go back and listen to it. It's kind of shocking at how bad the water is in some areas. In the United States and Europe, I mean, they found estradiol, so estrogen in your water. What that's going to do? That's going to cause men to have lower testosterone, women to have higher levels of infertility, breast cancer risk, every health hormonal issue you can imagine. So filter your water and listen. I think whole house filters are great. If you can afford that, great. But if not, that's okay. The biggest thing is you're drinking water, okay, get a Berkey, a roar, Reverse osmosis, but some sort of water filter. One of the greatest ways to reduce toxicity. The next one is avoid conventional meat and dairy products. Now I think some people are trying to buy everything organic and that's great. But if you're on a budget, you want to prioritize what you're buying organic. By far the most toxic is meat and dairy. It's called the law of bioaccumulation. What happens is you have these animals in these feedlots and, and they eat tons and tons and tons of grains sprayed with glyphosate, they're injected with growth hormone, they're given antibiotics regularly every day of their life in their feed. And then when we consume their milk and meat products, you're getting all of this antibiotic residue, GMO residue, all these hormones in your food supply. So, so pro produce, hey, that's kind of important. It's not even near as important as meat and dairy products if you're going to buy organic. Now the next most important are those dirty dozen sort of foods. But basically, here's the principle. If something has a peel on it, it's not as important to buy organic. For instance, if you're buying a grapefruit, you're taking the entire peel off, it's going to be far less toxic than if you're buying lettuce that's been sprayed because you're eating that outer shell of the thing that you're eating or strawberries or something like that. So if you're prioritizing there, and by the way, a study came out that found that if you have to buy food that's non organic baking soda, washing it with baking soda removes around 97% of the pesticides. I mean, it's incredibly powerful. So just one minute soaking baking soda, your produce gets rid of the majority of pesticides on your foods. Non toxic cleaning products, ditching plastics, eating. We talked about this, the dirty dozen. If you're going to go organic, and these things are the big needle movers and listen, there's a lot of things. There's EMF that has a form of toxicity. Again, we talked about added sugar, but I would say focus on the majors. I would say these and added sugar are probably the things that are making us the most ill when it comes to toxicity.
C
If you've been exposed to hidden toxins in your food, water, air and even cookware, which almost 100% of us have, they could be wreaking havoc on cells, cellular Toxicity is real and most doctors aren't running the right tests to catch what's actually going on. This new test flips the script. The future of interpreting lab tests is here. I'm currently offering a simple at home blood test that actually tests for the right things. Targeted biomarkers including hormones, thyroid and metabolism. Plus a full hour with one of my senior health advisors to help you understand your results. Now I do want to mention this. I've got a new book that comes out on Tuesday. This is a book I'm incredibly proud of and excited about. It's called the Biblio Diet. Jordan Rubin and I just, a friend of mine just wrote this book and it's diving into what does the Bible say about health and healing? And I actually believe the Bible is the greatest health book ever written. It has principles of regenerative medicine. It goes through how to detoxify your body. It is the single greatest document ever written on sanitation, which has probably promoted longevity over the past 100 years, greater than any sort of scientific breakthrough. And so the Bible has amazing answers and I'm going to go through a few here as we go through how to eliminate toxicity. And one of the things that happens in the Bible when you look at the law of Moses is Moses says, listen, there are certain foods that are clean and unclean. What he's saying is there are foods that are toxic and non toxic. It would be interesting. I thought about this quite often, as if Moses came back today and kind of redid the food. You know, what's clean and unclean, like, you know, artificial food dyes, artificial sweeteners. A lot of these things would not be, you know, would not be making the list of the clean foods. But the reason why the Bible says stay away from pork and shellfish is that those animals are scavengers. They eat their own feces. They. And by the way, Western science literature proves this. You know, the greatest carrier of parasites of any food by far are pigs. It's not even close. So many people have parasites today. I have a cousin who, he was a missionary over to India and he developed a brain tumor called glioblastoma. It's the most deadly type of brain tumor you can have. And they believe because he was doing a number of mission trips to India and he had a parasite. And as I started studying this, I didn't realize how, if you have a parasite, how much it increases your risk so I'm getting a little popping here. Is that going to help team? If I go like this, is that better? Okay, great. But it increases. Your risk of every other health problem, of your risk of getting cancer goes up dramatically, of a parasite, your risk of getting autoimmune disease, almost every health problem goes up dramatically. And a lot of people have these low grade infections that are festering in different organ systems that never show up on blood work because these viruses and parasites burrow into different organs. So they're not in your blood. So a blood test would never find them. All that being said, pork is your number one source of parasites. And people say, what if you cook the meat, doesn't that get rid of it? Not in all cases, no. And so again, and for anyone here who is of the Christian faith, people say, well, you're not under the law anymore. Yeah, I don't believe it's necessarily a sin in that same way that it was seen in the Old Testament. But I do believe that God wasn't all of a sudden like, well, pigs were unhealthy. Okay, now they're healthy. No, they've always been unhealthy. And if we have bacon lovers out there, listen, I like bacon as much as anybody. I haven't had it for 20 some years, but I do beef bacon, okay? Beef bacon is amazing. So if you're looking for the closest swap, listen, some of you guys like turkey bacon. It's just not. It doesn't hold up to pork. But beef does. Okay, Beef does beef bacon. The Bible talks about fasting for cleansing. It constantly is referencing fasting to cleanse your spirit and your body. Tremendous benefits there. Now I will say this, that I don't recommend a lot of fasting in terms of doing intermittent fasting the way that a lot of people do today, like a four hour, six hour, eight hour window. I don't tend to promote that very often for people that are ill, okay? Even when you look in the Bible, they'll say if you were pregnant, if you were sick, if you're feeble, if you're a young child, you don't want to fast in that same way. Well, actually, the main way that the church fasted throughout history was they took one day a week, not every day, one day a week. Typically a Friday, sometimes a Wednesday, but typically a Friday. And they would fast breakfast and lunch and spend more time in prayer. And so that actually I think is the best way for most people to fast. But I found a lot of women with hormonal issues if you do. If you do intermittent fasting too aggressively, it will make you worse. Okay, now I think you can get down to about a 10 hour window where maybe you're eating a later breakfast around 9am, you're eating again at 1 and maybe an early dinner at 5. So you could even get it down to a nine hour window. But I found that for most people for metabolic health and healing, you still want to do three meals a day. Okay. So you can get it down to a nine hour window where you're spacing it out like I just talked about. But for most people it's not going to benefit you. Doing it more aggressively now, taking one day a week and doing it or doing a seasonal fast, for some of you, that's fine. And I've also found that men's body types tend to do better with more aggressive fasting if you are going to do that. But again, fasting, I do think cutting down the eating window some and maybe taking one day a week and doing a little bit if you're well, has tremendous benefits for activating autophagy. Supporting your cellular lysosomes, that's sort of the liver of your cells to clean up and heal and cleanse your body. There are verses in Leviticus in the Bible that talk about mold remediation. And it talks about if you have mold in your home, cleanse it with vinegar. I mean, this whole way of like cleansing it and doing everything you can to air it out and get rid of the mold. And they literally say if you cannot get rid of the mold in your home or your tent, burn it down. That's what burn it down. Because it knew, like, listen, if anybody has ever had mold toxicity, you'd understand and you were very ill from it. You'd be like, yeah, I mean it's, you know, I'd rather live in a tent and deal with my entire body shutting down. Herbs like hyssop, which would have been. Hyssop would have been very similar to wild oregano or lemon essential oil. These are referenced in the Bible for cleansing and then. But the biggest thing the Bible talks about for healing is detoxing your heart and mind, practicing forgiveness, the importance of that for the healing process. So many of you who have followed me know the story of my mom and cancer and my mom, when she was 41 years old, was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through all the conventional treatments of chemotherapy, had a mastectomy and I remember her losing her hair, how sick she got. That's really what led me into this whole field I mean, that's still my. Why today is thinking about how sick my mom was. And I remember praying and also thinking, there's gotta be a better way. And I remember praying, God, use me to help people like my mom. And by the way, some of you are so kind. I've had so many of you, not just one, many people, already in the last. I just got here an hour ago and already tell me, hey, how's your mom doing? She's great. She's in her 70s. She's bringing her grandkids to Disney World. She's water skiing. She's amazing. My family growing up, we lived in the conventional medical system. Anytime we were sick, we went to the doctor, got prescribed antibiotics. That was all. We knew nothing about nutrition. My mom thought Juicy Juice and Chick Fil A were healthy. So we were, like, pounding back just which Juicy Juice at the time. I remember flipping over the bottle, says, contains 10% juice. I don't know what. I still don't know what the other 90% was. I could guess. But that's what we did. That's what we did growing up. We had no idea. And. And so my mom dealt with chronic fatigue syndrome. Like, my mom was so exhausted. Chronic constipation, Hashimoto. Like, she was so, so sick, so sick for so many years. And finally, when she was diagnosed with cancer again, this is when I was about to open up my functional medicine clinic in Nashville, Tennessee. We did. We did. We did a. The doctors were saying they were really trying to pressure us. And some of you may be experienced that they're like, you need to go in to do surgery in three days. She had lung cancer the second time. You need to do surgery in three days, and we need to go in and start radiation treatments immediately. And we told him, we said, listen, we're going to pray about it. We're going to talk about it as a family. We decided to take care of her all naturally. We did a blend of what I would call Gershon therapy, Budwig protocol, some Chinese medicine, herbals, and then health, health, inspiration from the Bible. And my mom healed, completely healed, and reversed her cancer. And this is her now. This is her. She ran a 5k with my dad. This is quite a few years ago, but she got second her age group. This is her just last Christmas, water skiing in Florida. That's us buying some fresh turmeric together at a farmer's market. And so she has amazing health. But again, doctors would have called this irreversible lung cancer. They said you could never Ever reverse that she did through doing the right things. One of the most important things that she did for healing though, was spending daily time. She had 20 Bible verses and she just meditated on them every morning, every day at lunch, every night at dinner. She visualized herself healing. She focused on reducing stress. My mom had a lot of fear and worry in her life, a lot of anxiety. And one of the ways we dealt with that as well, along with prayer, is she had a horse when she was a kid. She went to a local horse farm. She started going three days a week and just riding horses and doing things like that. Building peace in our life. Most of us are so busy from the more. From the moment we wake up in the morning till the minute we go to bed, we have something scheduled every single moment. And that puts us in this fight or flight state. We need to have more margin. We need to have more time to do the things we love to do. We have one life to live. And so this is something I really encourage my patients with is doing things like hey, let's go and deal with the childhood trauma. Write down, what are those thoughts and memories that still bother you today? Do you have regret? Do you have shame? Do you have guilt? Hey, give those to God. Let's, let's forgive people and then let's move forward. And so doing some of those practices, meditating on Bible verses, growing, finding what is that unique thing that God's called you to do, that gift you have that you can serve the world with? Well, let's go all in after that nutrient deficiency. This is huge. Today I practice with Jordan. We do a lot of regenerative agriculture. We own 4,000 acres in Missouri in the United States and other 150 acres in Tennessee. And we raise a lot of animals. We have yaks, we have water buffalo, we have gazelle. We have a type of cow with the cows with the humps that are. Originate from India and Middle east called zebu. We have a lot of animals out there and, and we are growing a lot of superfood trees out there as well. A lot of berries, goji berry, mulberry, schisandra. And we grow a lot of the herbals like holy basil that we put in Jordan and I put in, in products and, and one of the things that's been so shocking is just as we've analyzed the soil health in the United States, how poor it is. It is awful. I mean there are certain food on average, one study I found said that on average, the food that you buy today in The United States has 40% less nutrients than it did 100 years ago. Some foods might have 75%. I remember. And listen, I'm not going to beat up the United States here, but listen, Europeans are way better than we are, especially Chelsea, my wife. We love going to Italy because like, it's like everything you taste over there is just so incredible. But a lot of times you'll bite into an apple or tomato in the United States and you're like, is this an apple or a bag of water? I mean, it is so void of taste and nutrition. And it's because there's nothing in our soil. Do you know when they put things back in the soil, they put three different nutrients when there's 80 some that should be put back in the soil. By the way, the Bible talks about this amazing on how to heal the land and what to do there. But we've been left with very few nutrients. So a lot of times, like if you're eating a, to get the nutrients in one apple, you need to eat actually two to get that amount of nutrients. But then you're getting too many carbs, so it doesn't work in your favor. And so we have to address this. And so one way to do it is buying more foods that are regenerative, organic. Going to your local farmers market, who, farmers that practice this sort of thing locally. Support your local farmers. Go to those farmers, you know, that are, that are doing the right type of practices. You want to eat foods from nutrient dense soil. Those are some of our cows in the background that Jordan and I have there at our farm. And by the way, this farm before this, see all the green there? It was brown, it was only dirt and rock. We do something called ultra high density grazing with our cows where they go and defecate and urinate in the areas we kind of have them graze. And after three years, we built back the topsoil this much. We think we're going to build it up 14, like over a foot of topsoil back over about a seven year period. It's crazy, it's unheard of, but it's all through the way that we have our animals build back the topsoil. And there's a lot of environmentalists out there, like as I read this article recently, and it's like, we should get rid of all the moose. And it's like, because moose, you know, all of the, their carbon footprint, which, which, which it's like, okay, you're testing one thing, but what are, what is their, their poop. Their feces. What is that doing back to the soil? And what are the carbon they're putting back? They're only looking at what they're releasing, not what they're giving and putting back. That's why all of these environmental studies are so utterly ridiculous on, you should eat more plants and less animals. You should eat both. But it's. Anyways, I digress on that. But overall, this is why I think it is important for us to do things like multivitamins and greens when we can. And supplements can be important with our diets. Now, the Bible gets a lot into nutrition and a lot into regenerative agriculture. If you read Genesis 2 through 3, one of the things you'll see there is the Bible. Did you know that Adam and Eve were called, and we are all called, to take the garden of Eden, what was there, and make the entire planet a garden of Eden? A lot of people think when we die, we leave this place. Well, we will be reborn. And then in Revelation in the Bible 21 through 22, it says this, that God will create a new heavens and new earth and we will live here on Earth. And in the last book, so the first book of the Bible talks about the first two to three books, the last two to three books in Revelation say we will live in a garden city. So this entire planet will be a beautiful garden city. Something you see out of Lord of the Rings, this tropical paradise. And. And we're called to make the planet that again. So in Leviticus, by the way, another thing it does, it talks about how you heal the land. And part of it is you let it. You let the land rest every senior year. So there's a lot of advice there. But overall, biblical nutrition and one of the things we cover in this book, the Biblio Diet, is what are the foods most talked about in the Bible for healing? And a lot of them are things that, you know, the American Heart association would say, stay away from these foods. Okay? Red meat being one of them. Never eat red meat. Right. Wild fish, they're okay with. Olive oil, they're okay with. Some of these are okay with. But like sourdough bread. Never eat bread, raw milk, honey that's got sugar in it. But these are incredible healing foods. You know, sourdough bread and raw milk in particular, what they were eating 2,000 years ago, and maybe you're still eating today. If you're in certain areas of Europe, that's real bread again. America today, it's like white bread. Absolutely zero nutrients, anti nutrients, because there's there's so little nutrients, and it's stripping your body of nutrients. And so eating many of these foods can have great healing qualities. Now, I want to talk to you about cellular energy. And this is one of the things I think a lot of people are missing today. When it comes to healing your body, your cells have sometimes hundreds, if not thousands of mitochondria. These are the batteries. They're the power plants that fuel your entire body. And in Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, they had words for cellular energy and they called it chi. Okay? That's the word there. In Western medicine, we call it ATP. Okay? This is. Your cells are creating a certain type of energy. And within your mitochondria, in order for your organs to work properly, you have to have cellular energy. In fact, when I look at certain conditions, chronic fatigue is the most common one. But chronic fatigue is absolutely, completely mitochondrial depletion. When I look at hypothyroidism, that in a big part is mitochondrial depletion. It's your battery. I remember years ago, I went to see an acupuncturist. And this is my. This is my first two years in clinical practice. And I was working like 60 hours a week, just doing way too much. And I was eating very healthy. And I'm like, man. And I started having loose stool, digestive issues, some health issues. And I thought, gosh, I'm eating so well. How's this happening? And I also felt like I had no stress. But I saw this Chinese medicine doctor and he goes, Dr. Ax. He's like, your battery's here, needs to be here, you're here. And I was like, okay, what do I do? And he told me, he said, what you need to do is you need to just turn it off. He said something about stress. I'm like, listen, I'm not stressed. I don't have any worry, fear. Like, I don't really. Those aren't things that I personally battle that much. But I was busy. Like what? I said, I woke up 5am, went to bed at 10, but I had something every moment of the day. So all I did was I started taking lunch and actually eating lunch while not working. Okay. You know, rather than like typing and watching something where I just take an hour, I'm going to go for a walk and I'm going to do lunch that way. And then once five o' clock rolled around, I stopped working. I said, okay, I'm not going to be on my laptop while watching this show. I just. I'm going to read a Book boom. Completely gone. Digestive system 100% healed many of you. The problem is you do not have the cellular energy to run your organs or to heal. You have hypothyroidism. About hypothyroidism, one of the issues there, your body temperature is constantly low. Testosterone, your body temperature is constantly low. And in Chinese medicine, they will call that a Qi deficiency with a Yang deficiency. So women tend to get hypothyroidism with a chi Yang deficiency. Men tend to get low testosterone with a Qi and Yang deficiency. Okay, and what qi is a cellular energy and yang is being anabolic. It's tissue regeneration. So like Ashwagandha is a Qi Yang booster. That's why it's probably the most commonly herb that's good for hypothyroidism. Panics. Ginseng is a Chi Yang booster. Rhodiola rose as well. Cordyceps. That's why a lot of men will do those for supporting testosterone production naturally. But you have to focus on boosting cellular energy if you're going to heal because again, you're going to get the right vitamins, you can do the right detox. Think about it like this. We want to remodel your home. That's literally what your body's doing all the time. You want a new thyroid. Part of the problem is your body is creating unhealthy thyroid tissue every time it regenerates. Well, how do we heal the thyroid? Well, we need to get rid of all of these boards that have have termite damage. Right. You got to detoxify and get rid of that. You need to give your body new building blocks to repair the area. But you also need the workers to actually go and do the repairing. That's what your mitochondria are. And so in order to heal your mitochondria, here are the things that are the most healing. Pomegranates are amazing. They can kind of compound called Elliott acid that turns into another compound called urolithin. A, B, C, D and E. Okay. Multiple types of urolithins. Very, very powerful for hearing your mitochondria. High protein diet. Organ meats are the most healing of all four cellular mitochondria. Bone broth, vegetables of all kinds, especially steamed green leafy vegetables. Probiotic rich foods, omega 3 fatty acids and herbs, especially the adaptogenic herbs. Holy basil, Ashwagandha, ginseng, Schisandra, rishi mushroom. All those medicinal mushrooms are those adrenal tonics. Those directly impact the mitochondria more than anything. Rhodiola might be the best of all for mitochondrial regeneration. Now, here's one of the last things you need. You need a personalized plan. Everyone has unique biology, and so we need to follow a diet based on your type. You know, different practitioners do different things. One of the things that I like to do for herbals is I like to do something called a tongue diagnosis, where I could look at your tongue and tell what's going on. If you have ridges on the side of your tongue, that means your digestive system is weak. So I'm going to prescribe licorice root and astragalus and ginger if you have a coating on your tongue. In Western medicine, we call that candida, but it's called dampness. In Chinese medicine, bitter foods help clear dampness and warming foods. Ginger is good for that as well, artichokes, arugula. But things that are very bitter, dandelion, milk thistle, are going to move that, that bitterness out. If somebody has a tip, a redness on the tip of their tongue, that tends to be emotional, that's linked to insomnia, that's linked to, you don't have joy in your life, you don't have peace. And so there are some things there we want to, we want to focus on. And then of course, doing traditional blood work, looking at your symptoms. There are some ways of dialing in what is exactly right for you from a personalized diet standpoint. Stress, sleep, and spiritual growth. These are incredibly important for healing. I'm going to go through some of this a little faster because I only have probably five minutes left or so before I wrap up. These last slides are really important. I want you guys to catch in getting into the individual organ systems and how to heal them. 80% of doctors visits are stress related. 80%. Okay. I truly believe that our health issues today, number one, more than diet, is our mental and spiritual health. It's more important. I can tell you from working with tens of thousands of patients, you know, hypothyroidism, if we're going to heal that, I know I've brought that up a lot just as an example, but if we're going to heal hypothyroidism, you have to have time. You have to give your body time to regenerate and recover. If you're living within a constant state of fear, fight or flight. And fear isn't like fear of being murdered. It could be fear of disappointing your loved ones. You're a people pleaser. That's fear of others. And so dealing with those issues in the right way is so incredible to healing. You know, I used to have patients come to my office all the time. Now it's so interesting. Like myself, my buddy, Dr. Will Cole's over there. We were talking about this, like when we, when we first got started practicing medicine. I would be like. People would typically go to like 10 to 20 other doctors and then they would see me like, at last. Now people come much, much earlier on, but I would have patients come in and I would always ask them, what did your prior doctor have you doing? Because I wanted to learn and see what they would have them doing. And sometimes their doctor would say, you need to reduce stress. And I'd say, that's great. What did they tell you to reduce stress? They'd say, well, they didn't. They just told me I needed to reduce stress. It's like saying you need to eat healthier. I mean, literally, doctors do that. That's so crazy. It's the most non prescriptive thing I've ever heard. So if you have stress, if you have issues again, there's a few things you want to do. Go back and write down, what are the memories you have from the past that still bother you today? Work through those yourself, with God, with someone you trust, with a counselor. But deal with those issues. Forgive and move on. Write down. Here's another big one. Write down, what are things you love to do that bring you peace? Write those down and put those in your schedule. That's a simple thing. Like, I'll share for myself. I like reading books, I like reading novels. I feel guilty because if I read something that's not a medical book or a spiritual growth book, I feel like I'm not getting ahead. But I had to deal with that because even then it's like I'm learning. I'm going into research mode. My mind's working on a prison. Something's happening versus I'm reading. You know, I'm a huge fan of, of J.R.R. tolkien, like Lord of the Rings, something like that. Where I'm not getting, I'm reading for just the, just for pure enjoyment. Like that is very, very healing. And so think about those things. Put those in your schedule. Have a, have a, have a time for spiritual growth. Prayer, meditation, reading. Those sort of things will help you heal. Biblical healing, the Bible talks about prayer, meditation, laying on of hands, identity and purpose, faith. These are key elements of healing that we've lost today. Exercise is very important. This is a really amazing study. If we have any badminton or pickleball or Tennis players here. The number one type of exercise for longevity according to one study, was racket sports. The researchers said it was because racket sports, you're doing it with others. It's community driven. Takes really good hand, eye coordination that was really good for the brain. And it's a form of cardiovascular fitness too. It actually had this sort of whole health and then just agility and quick, quicker reflexes. And so that was the number one out of years to your life. Soccer was high on the list. Cycling, swimming, jogging, weight training and walking were the biggest needle movers there. And then these are the last five slides. So I want to go through as we talked about how to reverse organ age in these five organ systems. Number one cardiovascular system. Now in Chinese medicine, in western medicine, we know foods that are red tend to be the most healing there, generally speaking. But there's others as well. But the big thing there is we want to give the heart everything it needs to heal and regenerate. Number one, fatty fish, omega 3 fats, heart. So actually eating heart as a glandular, taking that as a supplement or eating heart like I buy meat back in the States that has heart and liver in it and you don't really taste it much if that's not your, your preference. Most people don't like the, the, the bitterness of, of organ meats of course. But again that is the most healing for the hearts. You know, like peptide therapy is growing incredibly fast in popularity. Right. You know, the number one food group that has peptides, by far, nothing else is even close is organ meats. That's where they even got the idea for them. BPC157 is body protective compound which is in your stomach and duodenum and stomach acid. So I mean Thymus, you know, TB500 or Thymus Alpha 1, that's from Thymus gland. You know, for hundreds of years, thousands of years in Chinese medicine when somebody had something like a cancer and immune issue, they gave somebody thymus gland as medicine because it's an immune booster. So anyways, that's a great way to get them via organ meats. Now you can get even more concentrated in actual taking peptides. But I wanted to mention that red meat, lean griefy berries, beets, pomegranates, tomatoes. Think about this as well. God makes it obvious what we should eat to heal. A tomato is red, your heart is red. A tomato has four chambers, your heart has four chambers. Tomatoes are high in lycopene. That is incredibly healing for the heart. We found walnuts, olive oil, CoQ10 omega 3. You'll see here some things very important. And then for the heart, of course, we know this. Cardiovascular as an exercise is the most important type of exercise for heart and cardiovascular health, immune health. And by the way, I want to mention part of what causes you to be sick in these different organ systems. Your emotions, your heart gets sick when you don't have deep, intimate connection with others. When you're lacking a hormone like oxytocin, okay. When you're lacking joy in your life, okay? And so that makes your heart sick. Your immune system, if something's happened in the past and it still bothers you today, even if it's buried in your subconscious, you have regret, shame, maybe there's abuse in your life and you've never dealt with it, that causes your immune system to be sick. Unforgiveness, that's another thing of the past that causes your immune system to be sick. So if you ever developed an autoimmune disease or cancer and it was immune issue, you've not dealt with something from your past. In most cases, chicken foods that are yellow and white are the most immune boosting. So chicken broth, chicken miso, pears, yogurt, onions, garlic, ginger, right? There's that yellow color. Astragalus, elderberry, echinacea, zinc, vitamin D. Just regular exercise movement. Great for immunity. But most importantly, exercise outdoors. Metabolic health. This is digestion, blood sugar, pancreatic health, bone broth, meat, fermented foods, apples, apples, sweet potatoes. So it's getting carbohydrates that are low glycemic and then especially doing things like cinnamon and ginger. Incredible. Cinnamon. Especially for metabolic health. Think about this like, like if you have blood sugar issues, cinnamon is an amazing, amazing for that mulberry leaf. L glutamine, BPC157. I've had such great results with patients for healing leaky gut. Probably better results than anything else I've ever given outside of diet. For healing leaky gut. For. For digestive and metabolic issues. Two more slides. Detoxification. These are green foods and sour foods. Sour and to a degree, bitter. Activate the cleansing process. We're all sweet and salty. Okay, we need more umami, bitter and sour. Cruciferous vegetables. We know this, right? They detoxify excess estrogen from the body. So men, if you want to get testosterone up. Women, if you know you need to balance out estrogen, get a big vegetable steamer, steam loads and loads of cruciferous vegetables, okay? That's going to help detoxify. So will dandelion Tea and milk thistle, tea, green apples, beets, liver, of course, Schisandra rishi, mushroom bu plorum. Those are the herbs. Incredibly cleansing and regenerative there as well. Chlorella is another favorite of mine. And then of course, detoxification. This is movement like walking in nature is probably the most healing along with racket sports. That's very healing that it's releasing of things, hitting things, and then prayer, spending time in prayer and meditation. Hormonal health. Now, I have three different categories of hormones I want to hit here. Men, women, premenopause women, menopausal or post. Okay, so if you are a man and you want to balance your hormonal health, which we know the stats of fertility in men. Men's testosterone levels have dropped 33% in the last 50 years. I mean, it is absolutely crazy. And that's going to cause you to age more quickly and men to not be. It's actually changing men's personalities. It's causing them to be more feminine, less motivated. You know, men should have this thing like, I want to slay a dragon, I want to go and, you know, conquer a city. And a lot of men, you'll notice that they lack this sort of energy, this sort of motivation. And part of the reason is estrogen's too high, testosterone's too low. And so when you look here for men, it's, you want to do very high protein, almost 1 gram per pound for its pounds. For us, body weight, lots of red meat, grass fed beef, lots of liver, lots of fatty fish. Pomegranates are great, but these are great foods for men's hormonal health. But very high protein, good healthy fats, zinc, magnesium, vitamin D. And then a lot of the adaptogenic herbs. Panax, ginseng, tribulus, deer antler, rhodiola, cordyceps, fenugreek. These are these chi yang boosters in Chinese medicine, great for male hormones. And then you want to lift weights and lift heavyweights. Okay. Men. And then spend other time around other great men. Iron sharpens iron. You want to get in there and do that. That's going to be health and then good sleep. Very big for men as well. Hormonally, women, let me hit on premenopausal first. Some of these overlap, but I'm just going to, it's going to be easier for me to say them. Premenopausal women, we need to support the balance more than even the levels more of the balance of estrogen, progesterone. What happens hormonally for most people, cortisol is the biggest issue. Cortisol gets high. You know what? When cortisol gets high, then insulin gets high. When insulin gets high. Now what happens is your liver cannot balance out estrogen. So then estrogen gets too high. So. And then what that does is your body is doing so much work there. Your. Your. Your thyroid hormones get off. The biggest thing that happens is your T4 isn't converted to T3 because your liver and pancreas are overwhelmed, okay? And that's what leads to hypothyroidism. So typically, cortisol is the master hormone. Emotionally, that disrupts everything. And if it's not that, then it's diet. And insulin just gets up by itself, and that same cascade happens. Okay? So women reducing stress, having some margin, and just getting emotionally healthy, spiritually healthy, it's so critical for your hormones. It's the most critical. By the way, men, something you can do for. For women. I work with a lot of women with fertility, helping them overcome PCOS and get pregnant. And what you want to feel like if you're going to get pregnant, women in general, you need to feel safe and secure. Okay? What I try and have my pregnant women do, but this is really all women. Here's the feeling you want to have constantly to balance your hormones. You're on a couch, there's a fireplace. You're cuddled up in your favorite blanket with your favorite beverage, hot cocoa, your favorite latte. Your family's around. There's Christmas music. You've got your kids, your spouse. You feel safe, secure, loved, nourished, warm. You want to feel that emotionally, that makes you the most fertile. But also, even if you're past that, it makes you the most healthy, even in your menopausal state. So that's the thing. You want to get there emotionally. And men, you should be fighting for your woman to feel that, protecting, providing, helping her dreams come true, getting her in that state, that's what you're called to do. This is even important hormonally. So women who are premenopausal, you need to balance insulin. PCOS is the biggest cause of infertility today. Lots of cinnamon, lots of berberine, lots of things to balance out those insulin levels and then lower cortisol. Okay, women, postmenopausal, here's the problem. Your estrogen and progesterone are dropping dramatically. You're having hot flashes, you're getting dryness. That's called in Chinese medicine a yin deficiency. So what's happening is your body is not creating enough moisture and it's not cooling itself. That's why your body has lost the ability to cool and moisten itself. There are foods that help with that in Chinese medicine. You can go Google this. Yin y I n producing foods, it's yogurt, it's sweet potatoes. Flax seeds and soy are amazing if they're organic for doing just that. Black cohosh, the most amazing herb ever for boosting that yin, for supporting menopausal symptoms. There's some other good ones there as well, but those are overall the best. Here's a new book if you guys want to check it out, the Biblio Diet. The audiobook is killer by the way as well.
