Bobby Belt, Tommy Yarish and Kyle Yeomans. Foreign. Today is Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books. Welcome in to the Draft show presented by Miller Lite, the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. This segment is brought to you by your Texas Ford dealers. Ford is the best in Texas. Last opportunity to wrap up what was a an unforgettable NFL draft. Fotch Lombardi, Nick Harris, Tommy Yarish, Bobby Belt, Chris Beam in the back. I'm Kyle Yeomans. Glad you're with us. And gentlemen, it feels like the the draft just ended a couple hours ago. Still recovering. Specifically the Voice is still recovering a little bit after a long weekend of radio. I know you guys are just chomping at the bit. Nick watched two guys on his way here to get ready for the 2027 draft class and you think I'm joking? I'm actually not. He actually did that, right.
Nick Harris
I just wanted to see Dylan Stewart and Colin Simmons. I wanted to get an early opinion on which one I liked more.
Bobby Belt
Oh, which one do you like?
Vach Lombardi
I love Dylan Stewart.
Nick Harris
They're both in there. They're both dudes. I, I have Simmons with the edge right now. We're gonna have a fun, fun year next year.
Tommy Yarish
Bobby's been on Dylan Stewart for like two years now.
Vach Lombardi
Dylan Stewart can do all the band celebrations he wants. As long as he rushes the passer
Nick Harris
like that, he's the freaking man. I love them both.
Bobby Belt
I was surprised you didn't give a school on either one of them, though.
Nick Harris
Colin Simmons, Texas. Yeah, I'm a little rusty. South Carolina for Dylan Stewart. I'll tell you what, though, this 2027 draft, I, I don't want to get too far ahead of our skis here. It's going to be damn fun. You know, we talked about going to
Vach Lombardi
be better at the top.
Nick Harris
Absolutely. We talked about this year, like 12 to 15, first round grades with most teams last year, I think it was around the same range, 12 to 16. Next year, I would be shocked if we don't get to 20, 22. Yeah. For. For most teams, and it very well could reach 25. It just kind of depends. Also, Kelly Jones, corner from Mississippi State, I saw a little bit. I don't want to say that I necessarily watched him because I still got more to do there, but that was a fun little. Fun little guy, too, I tell you.
Vach Lombardi
Was he a little guy? Broadus have him the first.
Nick Harris
No, he's not a little guy.
Vach Lombardi
Okay.
Nick Harris
He's like six.
Vach Lombardi
Brought us in the fourth, then.
Nick Harris
Yeah.
Bobby Belt
Have you guys made up yet?
Vach Lombardi
No.
Everson Walls
No.
Bobby Belt
What a weekend. And, I mean, we had a ton of fun over the. The. The timeline there. I know.
Vach Lombardi
Voch.
Bobby Belt
You wore the. The sport coat all three days, and then you pull out. In my opinion, my favorite one that you've had all week.
Nick Harris
My man.
Kyle Yeomans
Hey, man, you. You know, we have to wear the polos Friday and Saturday, you know what I'm saying? But I think that, like, around draft time, that's where we get the most views, the most eyes, you know what I'm saying? So I wanted to just do my thing a little bit, you know? So today I got something else for tomorrow, and it's right back to white tees and hoodies, you know?
Bobby Belt
There you go. I'm shocked. You had the one for today, too. You saved one for us and not for the break.
Kyle Yeomans
I got two weeks worth. I got some I never wore before that. I'm away for the break tomorrow.
Bobby Belt
Just wait until we start recruiting you to Cowboys pregame live, and then we'll have to really.
Kyle Yeomans
I need. Put. Put me. I need more bread for that.
Vach Lombardi
So.
Kyle Yeomans
I appreciate y' all for even considering me. I would need a raise for that to happen. You feel me?
Vach Lombardi
I feel.
Kyle Yeomans
I mean, these guys at the table, y'. All. Y' all some sickos talking about 20, 27 guys. We still got Jordan Hudson and D.J. rogers and Kelvin Gilliam to talk about. Y' all tripping. We ain't gonna talk about him today. Cause I ain't seen him, that's what.
Vach Lombardi
Oh, but we even got to say,
Bobby Belt
let's get into him.
Kyle Yeomans
Vash ain't saying, but we ain't even get into the 27 guys. Like, come on, man.
Vach Lombardi
To be fair, I've not actually, like, studied Dylan Stewart yet. He was just so dominant as a freshman that other people were studied. I was like, who's that? I was like, oh, okay. That's the Guy who's whooping feet or what did. How did you say it? Tommy?
Bobby Belt
Tommy, what was it?
Nick Harris
Tarnishing tootsies.
Tommy Yarish
I said the same thing. Whooping feet. He said the same way that I did. But I'm the one who got clowned for it. So.
Bobby Belt
It's true. It's true. Let's review the Cowboys draft class and what they brought to the table. I mean, for the, for the most part, we talked heavily during the coverage about Caleb Downs and the situation that allowed him to fall. Now that you've had the chance to kind of think on it a little bit, Tommy, has your opinion changed at all of how the teams 1 through 10 drafted and let Caleb Downs fall outside of the top 10?
Tommy Yarish
Not necessarily. I don't know if there's, I think Arizona at 3. You question if running back is what they really needed, but I think love still would have gone top 10.
Everson Walls
Really?
Tommy Yarish
Regardless, Tennessee, is Tate the person they needed? You know, Arval Reese is sitting right there for you. I think that could have made sense. And everybody, you know, we, we talked a lot about the Giants and taking Maui Noah. I mean, Maui Noah was like my third or fourth best player on the board. So I don't necessarily deem that as a poor selection. I think it's just something where, when you are rebuilding a roster like John Harbaugh is essentially doing, you need help on the offensive line. He's a guy that, if it works, a tackle, great. If not, he can be a really good guard and he might be an all pro guard if reaches his potential. So I don't know if anything necessarily changed for me over the weekend in the sense of like, wow, I can't believe they let Caleb Downs slip to it. I thought it was always a possibility, and I think Dallas did the right thing by moving up to 11 to make sure that they got him.
Bobby Belt
Bobby, you had talked about how Harbaugh wanted to get bigger in the trenches, so not a surprise. I mean, even whenever the, the. The pick started to roll through and we got to pick 7, 8, 9, it felt like Spencer Fano 9 to the Browns and then Francis Malanoa to the Giants 10 was pretty much etched in stone there.
Vach Lombardi
When there was a, when there was a consensus thought that Reese and Bailey were going two and three, just whatever order it was going to be, then as much as we were trying to figure out, all right, what's going to go on with the Giants, and everybody kept saying sunny Styles five or, you know, could be Caleb Downs or whoever else, the consistent thing I kept hearing from a lot of people was that before they got that second pick was like, if they're at five and there's no reasonability, they're taking. And so I think once it kind of shifted and they had the two picks, they got a little more strategic with it. But, I mean, mount. Oh, it made a ton of sense for them. It's just. I. Yeah, imagine if you're a. A Giants fan, which you can go find on Tick Tock, Twitter, wherever else, just like various videos of Giants fans melting down when they pass on Downs. But I think the thing that hurts most about it is, you know, you said you could use a lot of things that were highly graded players. If Downs and Styles are on the board for the Cowboys and they take Styles, who everybody likes, but maybe they like Townsville more and you let Downs then go to Philly with the next pick. People are melting down just on the context of, I wanted that guy more and you let the other team get him. I think the Giants are going to regret. As much as I think they'll like having Francis Mounto, I think they are going to regret letting the Cowboys get Caleb Downs.
Nick Harris
Yeah, I think if you're looking at that first round and seeing how it fell, everybody should be praying and thanking the Tennessee Titans for taking Carnell Tate at pick number four, because had they taken Arvl Reese, and I am fairly confident that they would have taken either downs at 5 or at 10 and probably swapped him out basically for Reese. So thank the Tennessee Titans. And every time Carnell Tate does something for the Tennessee Titans, Cowboys fans better cheer because that's the reason Caleb Downs is wearing a Cowboys uniform today.
Kyle Yeomans
Team sucker drafting.
Nick Harris
Sucker drafting.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't want. And you know what, it was really cool to hear Brian Broader say it. Like he says, you know, guys, teams really suck at drafting. I was like, yeah, Brian, they do. And, you know, the whole league, you know, 10 teams, they let you. They let you get Caleb Downs. They let Caleb Downs get right to you. And, you know, the league really proved that they suck at drafting later. Later in the draft as well with some of this stuff they had going on. I know the Broncos kind of got called out about it. You know, the 49ers, I mean, and, you know, Jacksonville, they're notoriously getting dragged right now. But for all the players that the Cowboys got that we liked, it only happened because some other team didn't take them. So I'm grateful.
Bobby Belt
When you look at the. The depth chart now, that's kind of what everybody's trying to piece together because I don't know if it's finalized from a Dallas standpoint even. Where do those guys fit? Of course, Caleb Downs, we kind of know where he's going to be. He's your nickel, he's your safety. He's going to bounce back and forth. I've heard a little of criticism from the Malachi Lawrence pick because he's not going to start for you, quote unquote, immediately. Is that a problem for you at 23 or where that's ending up, depending on what the. What's the depth chart we'll look for?
Vach Lombardi
What are we. Are we looking at nickel? Are we looking at base? Like. Like what should look. Are we talking about.
Nick Harris
Yes.
Bobby Belt
Yeah, either one.
Vach Lombardi
So I think, like, if they're. If you're just talking. If you're just. If you're going to talk about nickel, I would imagine their look on nickel is going to be Quinn and Kenny on the interior, Gary and Ezraku at the edges. The linebackers today, as of today would probably be overshown and D winners, probably. And then you're looking at, I would guess, everybody healthy, Revel, Bland outside downs in the nickel, Thompson and Hooker at safety. But I think there's going to be so much rotation and so much, you know, so many various different situations where they're trying to disguise looks or be flexible or where they'll have a situation where they've got a DPR out there who in that instance will probably be Malachi Lawrence. I think everybody's going to get enough rotation here that it's. They're going to get meaningful snaps even if they're not starting.
Kyle Yeomans
Kyle, I'm glad you said this. Something I'd be saying all the time, bro. I think it's actually a good thing when rookies don't start for you because if you draft somebody at 23rd overall and they're automatically better than who you had on your roster, your roster was sucking, you know what I mean? So you can look at Malachi Lawrence and be like, okay, he's a first round pick. He should be starting. If Donvanez Araku is better than him and if Rashawn Gary is better than him, then that means you got three dudes that you can trust for real. You know what I'm saying? I just don't want to live in this world where just the rookie just comes in. Like, if Devon Moore is your best corner right now, that's bigger problems, you know what I'm saying? So if you're a Cowboy fan, don't be upset that Malachi Lawrence probably won't start. Malakai Lawrence is going to play a bunch. He's going to rotate a lot, but just say that. Okay? Well, I feel so good about Don Vanezraku and Gary that they'll be better than him right now that Malachi Lawrence just can't take their job right now. I think that's cool.
Vach Lombardi
I also think it's important to remember, even in the instances where guys are more talented consistently, this team and most others across the league generally will pay deference to a veteran. And it's like, you're going to have to take the job. Tyler Smith, if Tyron Smith doesn't get hurt in training camp a couple of years ago, Tyler Smith is not on the field immediately.
Kyle Yeomans
Agreed.
Vach Lombardi
I know there was a disagreement about it at the time. Tyler Guyton was not going to start immediately. He got hurt, and so there was never an answer about it right away, but he was not going to start right away if that had happened. So you got hurt in front of him that year. I can't remember who it was. It was Chuma Idoga. Yeah. Chuma or Chuma had gotten hurt is what it was. Chuma had not gotten hurt. Chuma was starting that year. And a lot of people would have gone, what? This is ridiculous. But they generally give deference to a veteran and say, earn your spot. You got to really show us we can trust you. So, I mean, it's more so stunning that we're penciling downs and as a starter than I think it is that they're not penciling Lawrence in because. And that just speaks to how comfortable they are with his football IQ and how ready he is to compete at the NFL level.
Nick Harris
And I will say it's also important to remember that Donovan as Rock, who might not be healthy when camp rolls around, he's got the hip labrum that he's coming off of. And, you know, if that, you know, carries into training camp and it becomes a bigger issue, then, hey, you have Malachi Lawrence, who's more than capable to be ready to go when the season comes around. So he very well could find himself in a starting job week one. But I personally, I like his role if it sits how it is. And as a Rock who's healthy, I do like that role of him coming in on passing downs, him developing in the run game, because I would rather see him fresh on passing downs to just pin his ears back and go get the damn quarterback, you know, on those penny fronts that they Talk about where they're going to have five up front. I think Ross Winchy was talking about it in here on Saturday. Malachi Lawrence, Rashawn Gary Donovan, Ezraku Quinn Williams and Kenny Clark. If that's your five man front, damn, you got a pretty good five man front right there. And that's going to be toug for opposing offensive lines. And so I think that's probably more the idea with Malachi Lawrence. And then, you know, as time goes along, Rashawn Gary is not going to be here forever. And then he probably steps into that role and Gary moves on.
Tommy Yarish
I think you guys hit it all on the head. I don't think you're necessarily expecting Malachi Lawrence to come in here and be Micah Parsons. I think he's expected to come in here and play significant snaps. And as that time goes along, I think you're going to see him get better. When we talked about him on the show, it was all about, hey, this guy's best football is still in front of him. Like he's still going to have to grow. And now it's on your coaching staff and Todeiro de Rebate and those guys to, you know, go out and prove that they can develop these guys. I think that's where, you know, Chidera Uzo Deribe was probably one of the more large scale position coaching hires that Dallas had this offseason because Georgia did not want to let go of this guy. And you look at obviously look at the track record, Jalen Walker and Mikel Williams and just all the freak show demons that they've had at Georgia over the last however many years that he's been there. And so now can you translate that to the NFL level with these guys? He's shown that he can do it at college, but can you make it translate in the league? And so whatever role Malachi Lawrence is in, he's going to play significant snaps. And ultimately I think that's better for him and it's better for this defense.
Bobby Belt
I want to run down the draft class for those that haven't seen it or maybe just have forgotten some of the names along the way and where they were taken. But in the first round, Cowboys, of course. Take Caleb Downs, Ohio State safety at 11, Malachi Lawrence out of UCF edge rusher at pick number 23 in the third round at 92, Jayshawn Barham, the Michigan edge rusher linebacker. They're going to play him at that inside linebacker spot in the third round, fourth round. They have three picks, 112. They take Drew Shelton, the offensive tackle from Penn State. Devin Moore at 114. The corner from Florida, L.T. overton, the Alabama edge rusher at 137. He's probably going to play a little bit more inside for Dallas. And then Anthony Smith was the final pick of the weekend wide receiver out of East Carol in the seventh round at 218. Out of those names, which one sticks out to you? Not in the first round. Which one sticks out and where do you feel like the best fit out of the rest of the names? Those five last names are for Dallas.
Vach Lombardi
Like value?
Bobby Belt
Yeah, value or just scheme fit?
Vach Lombardi
I mean, I really, really love the Overton pick. As late as it was to get him, I think he was. There was so much buzz initially last year about Overton being like, oh, he's going to be a top, like first round, like big time talent. Season didn't go that way. And then he was, you know, generally thought of as like a third round pick. But I think because of the initial expectations and where he ended up, it became a little trendy or it became a little common to just have kind of a natural negative feeling towards him as a prospect. But if you were able to get him almost at the start of the fifth round as a player who I think is comfortably a third round player, can come in here and play with NFL level power, immediately, play well against the run and do whatever you need him to do. In terms of those four technique, five technique looks, I think that that's huge to be able to have that. I think that Overton by the end of the season will probably be competing for a starting role.
Bobby Belt
And that's, that's the interesting side of things is seeing where he fell, like what allowed him to fall, why was he there at the back half tweener,
Vach Lombardi
like not a natural fit in a lot of places. But given what this team wants and how he's going to play defensive line here, I think that's actually a, a like benefit that that's sort of. It's however you want to term it. A lot of times you'll term it as like, oh, he's tweener. Or if you like him, you'll probably term it as like he's flexible and he can do different things and like, you know, he's multiple. So it's just a matter of like, how do you look to apply it and how you need a fit. And so I think for what Dallas is going to do and what Christian Parker needs him to do, he's a really good fit.
Nick Harris
There are a handful of players every draft cycle who show physical flexibility during the process. Lt Overton was one this year. For example, at the, at the combine he came in, he weighed in at 275. At his pro day, he came in and weighed in at 287. That's basically telling teams, hey, I can bulk up and play 290 and play, you know, yeah, he got back to Tuscaloosa
Bobby Belt
stuff down there.
Nick Harris
And that can also show, hey, I can get down to 275. And if you want to put me at 5 tech, you know, closer to the tackle, then I can do that as well. And so they have to have a clear vision for LT Overton, and I think that they do or they wouldn't have taken him. But it's going to be a fascinating situation to see how him and Otito Ebonia kind of rotate throughout their role and which one of them ends up getting more snaps as time goes along.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm not gonna lie, dog. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pick and I think it was just off the film. Like it wasn't about him being tweeners because damn near everybody that you drafted played multiple spots. You know, I just didn't think that the film added up. And mostly what I was, I don't wanna say what I was upset about, but I just had players on the board that I just personally liked a little bit more than him. If the Cowboys would have taken him in, you know, like a later round, if he was there, then fine, knock yourself out. But just the film, I didn't walk away thrilled. And honestly, is he gonna play over Bullard or is he gon over Otito Ogbanya? I wouldn't assume so, you know what I'm saying?
Vach Lombardi
I would assume he is by the end of the year.
Kyle Yeomans
Knock yourself out, player. I just don't necessarily agree with that one. I do think Overton can be strong sometimes. I think if his technique lets him down, then all that power kind of goes away a little bit. It sounded like he think he's going to play a little edge. I think four eyes where he's going to be at, and I think that's where he's going to be for the most of the time. And I think that this team is going to play a lot more nickel than they're going to play base. So I don't know how much he gets on the field right now. Hey, man, I hope it all works out. I understand the, the thinking like he's your future for I do. Knock yourself out. But my whole thing was, you know, I. I probably would have just rather somebody else in that spot.
Bobby Belt
You. You talked about the film not stacking up to. To the spot. I. I get the strength element and I get the play temperament element because there are a couple times where in film he doesn't show that. Even though I think he is NFL strong, he just kind of lets off a play and it doesn't look great. What else says this is not available or this is not a guy I feel comfortable with at the back half of the fourth round? Because at some point they are. All of them on day three. All of the prospects on day three have something of a knock against them.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Bobby Belt
Why was his so severe that even in the back half of the fourth round, you're not comfortable making that pick?
Kyle Yeomans
So with the Cowboys, kind of, if they're picking their guy and this, this is who they want, knock yourself out. But my personal opinion, right, Somebody that I would have rather have had, man. Tyreek Sapp was on the board. I thought he. He did the job a little. He went a draft, he went undrafted. I thought that was a little bit strange, you know what I'm saying? Just other guys on, like, defense that I like more. I think VJ Payne was on the board, and I just liked him a little more. Fitzgerald, I liked him a lot as a safety just a little bit more. So it was just certain names. I'm like, all right, dawg. I thought the Cowboys had a. Had an opportunity and they got who they wanted. I'm just YouTube guy. Look, I don't know nothing. They got who they like. I thought with the Overton and the Sheldon pig, honestly, I thought that. That there were just better dudes that project to be better in a long run, in my personal opinion, but not.
Vach Lombardi
Where did you grade Overton?
Kyle Yeomans
What I grade? Yeah, he was in the extra so on my board. It's like in the six or something.
Bobby Belt
So was it the strength? Like, was that just the biggest knock?
Kyle Yeomans
I didn't think that he did a good job putting all the film together. You know what I'm saying? I thought that he was strong sometimes. I thought. I thought that he could get pushed in the pass rush sometimes. I just didn't see it consistently.
Bobby Belt
Is it motorcycle?
Kyle Yeomans
Sometimes his motor is good. Sometimes I catch him jogging a little bit. I kind of wanted him to be run game aware just a little bit more. Yeah, you can kind of wrestle somebody in front of you, but if you're being down, blocked, you need to get on the other side of that block, if you're being reach blocked, you need to work outside. There were many times I just kind of saw him wrestling a little bit and his strength just didn't translate into the film. Very good for me, you know what I'm saying? No, that makes sense now look, he could end up being great and I'll come up here and be like, boy, I was so wrong about lt Overton boy. And he is NFL strong. But Mozzy was strong as hell too. But it's different because you taking, you know, you taking one guy in the fourth over whatever, whatever, 13, 20 or 1, it's totally different. I agree. But there were just some names on the board for me personally and the Cowboys ain't me that I would have been like, damn, boy, I wish we'd have threw a dart on that guy than throwing a dart on this particular guy.
Bobby Belt
We'll come back to the conversation of some of these later round picks and then even some of the undrafted free agents in segment number three. But I do want to get to Twitter on the 20 it's our last one of the year. We've got some questions filing in here for the NFL draft in the 2026 class, maybe even some hypothetical scenarios that did not play out on draft weekend. We've got more of the draft show coming up right after this.

If I'm hitting, we are making no money. I'm apologizing in advance. I'm not hitting a single home run.
Bobby Belt
Oh, man.
Nick Harris
But yeah, for the Mississippi welfare program under Brett Favre. Hey, that's what he's going to be.
Tommy Yarish
Oh, man.
Nick Harris
Tommy's charity.
Bobby Belt
Yeah. All right, let's. Let's get into our final edition of the 2026 NFL Draft with some Twitter on the 20.
Kyle Yeomans
Actually, Kyle, we have a lot of questions. I'm sure, but can Nick ask a question?
Nick Harris
Yeah, I appreciate that because they hate when I do. Okay, so we might have some supplemental draft drama this off season if anybody didn't catch yesterday, Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby.
Bobby Belt
Yeah.
Nick Harris
Got announced that he was caught gambling in his freshman year at Indiana. And if it goes toward NCAA precedent, he will be ruled permanently ineligible by the ncaa, which likely means that we are going to have an NFL supplemental draft this summer with Brennan Soaresby as the head target or as the lead primary. Primary. Yeah. Situation.
Bobby Belt
He's a possible top 10 pick next year.
Nick Harris
Yes. And so I'm curious of A, everyone's thoughts on Brennan Sorsby and then B, you know, how that factors into a potential supplemental draft situation. Oddly enough, the last notable supplemental draft player that I can think of was Jalen Thompson because he was ruled ineligible late in his time after transferring to was. What was it? Someone helped me here. Washington State.
Bobby Belt
Yes. I can't remember where.
Nick Harris
Regardless, he had found out that he had lost all his eligibility after the draft had already happened. He entered the supplemental draft, ended up getting selected by the Cardinals, had a great career. So, Brendan Sorsby. This is going to be. It's going to be a fascinating one about, you know, how it factors in with the NFL.
Bobby Belt
How does the draft, I guess, the draft order for that start to get selected? What's the process that goes into that?
Vach Lombardi
Do you know, Bobby, Sorry, say it again.
Bobby Belt
For a supplemental draft, how does it, how does that order begin to take shape?
Vach Lombardi
So I can't.
Kyle Yeomans
This is.
Vach Lombardi
The supplemental draft has become so inconsistent. It's become so inconsistently used as a tool. It used to be used a lot more frequently, but it's become so inconsistently used. Like, I always forget how they even like, set that up. It's a whole. I think the way it typically goes is it's almost like a. Because again, it's. It's been so. I think it's like almost like a bidding, like, where you're willing to put up certain capital and then what, you end up sacrificing the draft.
Nick Harris
Here we go. So, like, prior to a supplemental draft, teams will submit blind bids. So like, let's say Brennan Sorsby's in. In the mix, right? Then if you are the New York jets and you need a quarterback, then you could submit a bid that's like, hey, we'll submit a third round bid in this supplemental draft for Brendan Sorsby. And if they end up being the highest bidder, then they take Brendan Sorsby and they lose a third round pick next year. So.
Bobby Belt
Wow. And that just goes to the league that doesn't go to anybody else.
Vach Lombardi
Right.
Bobby Belt
Like, it's correct. It's just a forfeited pick.
Nick Harris
Yeah, correct. And so it's generally held in July and it hasn't been held in a few years. So, I mean, this is going to be. It's going to be incredibly unique if Brendan Sorsby ends up in a supplemental draft situation. Because also, man, I caught Brendan Sorsby at the Texas Tech pro day. Not the biggest guy in the world. Like, physically, I was a little underwhelmed. Like, he's probably 6 foot and a half, 190 pounds, 200 pounds.
Vach Lombardi
See, that's like.
Nick Harris
I don't know what his NFL projection would necessarily look like. You're coming off the Cincinnati tape from last year, which was good. Don't get me wrong. It got him the bag at Texas Tech that he might have to give back. Yeah, he gave. I almost said gave it to Windstar. Exactly. There. There it was. There was. But nevertheless, it's. It's going to be interesting to see how this is, this is handled.
Vach Lombardi
I. So, I mean, I've not like Studied. Studied him. So I'm just going based off of trying to remember how he looked when there were instances of him on tape or like just watching him in games last year. Sorcery has not stood out to me as a guy that, like, I've been super high on.
Nick Harris
I don't get the top 10 hype Smaller.
Vach Lombardi
Smaller guy. I don't think he's always super accurate. It feels like there are times where especially stuff like moving targets in the
Nick Harris
middle of the field.
Vach Lombardi
I just remember feeling like he was off target a lot. And so, I mean, I know the numbers look good, but without doing a deep dive, I just remember my cursory look of him was like, I would not. He didn't pop to me. He's like, oh, that's going to be an NFL. Like, that's an NFL quarterback right there.
Nick Harris
I think he's a fine college quarterback that you would rightfully give an nil back to to try to come in and elevate the floor of your program, which is what Texas Tech dig. I think it would have made them more of a playoff contender than Baron Morton did last year. But, yeah, I don't. I don't know if it were me and I needed a quarterback. I'm a quarterback needy team. I may be putting a fifth or sixth round bid in and if I don't get them, so be it.
Tommy Yarish
I was going to say a fifth is probably the most. If you're the jets or the Cardinals or something like that, that you need a quarterback that would be at most what I would give or the Rams.
Bobby Belt
So what I'm hearing is we need to continue.
Vach Lombardi
I don't meet with them.
Bobby Belt
Yeah, we need to continue doing draft shows twice a week up until July. Supplemental draft.
Vach Lombardi
You have a supplemental draft show.
Bobby Belt
I think that that's what I'm hearing.
Kyle Yeomans
Show.
Tommy Yarish
Every episode we just break down a single play. All right.
Bobby Belt
All right. Jamie Morris wants to know, are expectations too high on Caleb Downs?
Nick Harris
I don't think so.
Tommy Yarish
No.
Nick Harris
I don't think they're high enough.
Bobby Belt
Wow.
Nick Harris
Yeah. I think he's going to be such a important piece of this defense next year. I think you're going to look back at the end of the year and he's going to have probably the second biggest impact of anyone on the defense.
Vach Lombardi
It's a. It's a nuanced definition. Like, it's a little broad. Like, we think, like our expectations too high. Too high for what are they too high for? Like, the pressure that it's going to put on Caleb Downs and his ability to deal with that, are they too high in terms of like, are we overrating what he can be? Are they too high in terms of the demand of how quickly he can get there? All of that? I would say no, I don't think we're overrating him. I think he's mentally prepared to deal with whatever pressure comes with it and I think he can do it in a rapid fashion.
Tommy Yarish
Well, my question to that would be, and I always ask this when these kinds of questions come up, is what is the expectation for Caleb Downs year one? Is it he has to be a Pro Bowler, he's got to be an All Pro. I don't think so. I mean, I just think you, you need a guide that you can say, hey, when he is on the field, he is having a significant impact on defense.
Bobby Belt
He makes your defense better.
Tommy Yarish
Like that, that's, that would be my expectation.
Vach Lombardi
He doesn't have to be a Pro Bowler.
Tommy Yarish
I think he can be, he can be, sure. But I don't know if it's fair to say, okay, year one, you have to be a Pro Bowler or else this season is a failure, quote, unquote. I think if he goes out and he puts on good tape and he shows you that can elevate what your defense was, which is a low bar. But if it's, have, if he's having a significant impact on the field, then you're looking at a, you know, a successful pick.
Vach Lombardi
He's, I think he's going to be one of their better defensive players.
Tommy Yarish
Sure.
Vach Lombardi
If not, like, I mean, he'll be right at the top of, to me around Quinn and, or those other guys as their best defensive players.
Tommy Yarish
But if you're, if you're saying like, do you think it would be fair to say Kale Downs expectation is he wins defensive Rookie of the Year?
Vach Lombardi
No, probably not. Because I also don't know that it's going to look, I don't know that his impact is going to look statistically bloody.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Bobby Belt
Unless he has like three or four picks and like something.
Vach Lombardi
Yeah, I, I, I think the, I think the reflection of his contribution will be seen in Dallas's raw numbers more than his own.
Kyle Yeomans
Can he cover better than Donovan Wilson?
Vach Lombardi
Yeah, yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
So that's, that's, that's, that's where we at, right.
Vach Lombardi
He can cover better than most of the corners.
Kyle Yeomans
That's where we at.
Bobby Belt
Nick, you said second largest impact on the defensive side this year for Caleb Downs, who's number one.
Nick Harris
Pick your pass rusher that gives you the biggest impact. I don't know who that is, but pick your favorite pass rush.
Bobby Belt
I just didn't know if you had anybody specifically.
Nick Harris
Not necessarily. It could be Jalen Thompson, Williams, could be Quinn and.
Bobby Belt
Yeah, probably Quinn. And Smalls wants to know. So Smalls, do you think anybody on this roster has already lost their job to one of these rookies?
Kyle Yeomans
Watch, man. I know that, you know, Ready Stewart was getting a little bit of steam after the season. Boy, that's gone. I mean, you can say the same about Weezy too. The whole defense, the whole secondary, probably. I mean, Malik is the last alive out of that thing.
Nick Harris
You got Bland and Revel. Bland more so than Revel, which might
Bobby Belt
be the other way around if you
Kyle Yeomans
gotta show me that he's healthy or whatever. But I think Kobe Durant got one of them. Got one of them on notice or whatever. So I don't think nobody's safe out here. Of course, somebody's job.
Vach Lombardi
But we're just talking rookies. Yeah. Who have replaced because Kobe Durant, like, that's a new addition. But out of the rookies, I think Downs is the only one who immediately is replacing a start. And that's only in base.
Bobby Belt
Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
Because in nickel, I think Hooker's still out there.
Nick Harris
I don't think that Drew Shelton is necessarily replacing Tyler Guyton, but I think Tyler Guyton needs to be more on watch than he was going into the draft.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't think Tyler's going to lose a bit of sleep over Drew. I think Drew is innate conversation. I don't think Drew.
Nick Harris
I think they're all the same conversation, man.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm just. Guyton hasn't shown me anything yet. Made me feel that way. In that way. Boy, Drew, whatever, he. If Drew did something crazy in the off season, that'll make it like that. Boy, am I great. I know he's working with Duke. I watched season whatever it is, episode three on Duke's YouTube channel and Drew Shelton's working with him and he put on some weight. He like 3:09 now. He was small in college. He got his, you know, he's been in the weight room. So if Drew Sheldon can't and somehow, you know, turn whatever his. The last thing that we saw on film into something that can compete with Tyler Guyn. Just to be clear, ain't no favorites on this team. If Drew shows up and he wins the left tackle spot here, here, we got a fourth round pick that won the left tackle spot. We'll all be happy for him. I just don't see that. I just don't see that being a matchup for real.
Bobby Belt
I don't think Drew Shelton is a 2026 thing. I think Drew Shelton is a 2027 or 2028 thing.
Tommy Yarish
That's fair.
Bobby Belt
That's my thought anyway. I like and I said this on the draft coverage, I like Drew Shelton and I like the plan they have for Drew Shelton. I don't necessarily think he's immediately going to come in and challenge Guyton, even though I don't disagree with Nick. Everyone's on display, everybody's on review, especially at the tackle spots. It just depends on who's going to fit in in each of those situations.
Kyle Yeomans
I think it's going to take injury or falling off a ledge for Guyton to lose his job. Left out.
Tommy Yarish
He hasn't been available injured, unfortunately, over the last few years.
Kyle Yeomans
And that's why I think it's and
Vach Lombardi
I agree with Vodch, they may, it may be opened up. I don't even if you open it up to a competition for those three, I just don't see Guyton losing that too. Right now.
Nick Harris
I think if you're looking at bottom, the depth chart stuff, if I'm Marisley afoul, Sam Williams, Kaylin Carson, maybe not as much, but I'm throwing him in the conversation. Shamar James, who's Jonathan Mingo, who's played a bunch and yeah, I'm on job watch. I'm on roster watch.
Kyle Yeomans
Mingo for sure show.
Nick Harris
Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
When we had Scott Simons in here, did y'. All what do you say when he was talking about the stuff he looks for in linebacker, the first thought I have was I wonder if everything he just said is Shemar James.
Bobby Belt
It's exactly Shemar James. I, I, they I feel like there's going to be a time where we're looking at each other in Oxnard or in week one of the preseason. We're looking around. I'm saying, man, Mark James played a lot here.
Vach Lombardi
The only thing he doesn't have, he's not super long, but like he was talking about length is like the third. He's not a super long player. But I mean a lot of the other stuff that he talked about he wanted. There's a lot there with Shamar James.
Bobby Belt
I think he's got more length than maybe some of the other linebackers on your roster, though.
Vach Lombardi
Not, not more than the ones that were out of here. Not more than Overshone or Baron.
Bobby Belt
Yeah, you're probably right.
Nick Harris
So if Shemar James over shown for sure.
Vach Lombardi
Over. And Baron's wings. I think his arm length is shorter, but his wingspan's larger.
Nick Harris
If Shemar James was drafted in this draft class, I. He would be the second youngest player. So like, as of today. As of today.
Bobby Belt
Wow.
Nick Harris
So he's still young.
Wasabi Commercial Voice
Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
That young.
Nick Harris
He's younger than he is younger than the rest of the draft class. Except for Caleb Downs. Yeah.
Bobby Belt
Interesting.
Tommy Yarish
He was second on this team in tackles last year.
Bobby Belt
Yes, he was.
Vach Lombardi
So he's like six years younger than Brian's whole board too.
Bobby Belt
Mike wants to know where would you stack Anthony Smith, a wide receiver from East Carolina right now on the Cowboys depth chart with Holden Hudson, Brown, Marquez, Valdez, Scantling, Johnson.
Kyle Yeomans
That dude is so fun to watch.
Vach Lombardi
So I finally watched him. He's kind of good. I like it.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't know why they don't throw the ball to him more. I don't know why they don't throw the ball to him more. But he's either. Because he don't always go to the ground. He don't get tackled a lot. It's like everybody go out of bounds together or he runs past everybody or
Bobby Belt
he's going down on his own or
Kyle Yeomans
he falls on his own.
Bobby Belt
You know, he's going down to the ground to make a grab.
Kyle Yeomans
He's tall, but I don't think he's like big. But they don't. The first tackler don't bring him down. So he's a bit of a yakuza.
Bobby Belt
Glad you guys like him too.
Vach Lombardi
Look, dude, I like the way he moves. He moves really well for his frame.
Kyle Yeomans
And that's this wide receivers class like we all watched. Well, I probably watched 20 wide receivers, 25 of them. And I just didn't get the Anthony Smith and I just go back and watch retroactively like, hey man, look at this guy. Look at us. So if the Cowboys want to make this day three wide receiver factory like they did with Flo and hey, Flo has stepped up and become some wide receiver three in this situation, I can imagine there's a world where Anthony Smith continues to work his way into that same kind of track or whatever. But I, I like him a bunch. He's. He's fun.
Vach Lombardi
I promise I'm not comparing them timer here. Just watch this. I promise I'm not comparing them as player. I'm just saying the way they move, it does look frame wise similar movement to the way that Tet moved at Arizona. Yeah, I'm not saying they're the Same guy. But in terms of like if you look at the way that they like attack their routes, the way that they cut, like it looks very similar in terms of their body movements. And so I like, like I liked him a lot. I would not say he's like, oh my gosh, that's a guy you take in the third round or anything but in the seventh is like don't fight for him in priority free agency. I'm all over it. He's, he's apparently when he was at NC State he was like a. One of their top speed guys. He's big frame. There were times, there are a couple times I saw that I was like, I don't know about the hands, like failed him a couple times that I saw. But otherwise I really liked him.
Nick Harris
You have eight players competing for two spots at that at. At camp at wide receiver and only one of those is going to get an active game day roster spot. So it's going to be, it's going to be high competition. And I'm factoring Jonathan Mingo into that conversation as well. So Jonathan Mingo, Marquez Valdez Scantling, Anthony Smith, Trayshawn Holden, Tyler Johnson, Camden Brown, Jordan Hudson and Paris Campbell. I'd be surprised if Campbell's still around by then. But that's going to be, that's going to be high competition.
Vach Lombardi
Broadus is glad you have Turpin firmly on there.
Nick Harris
Now we're just getting out.
Vach Lombardi
I'm crossing three lanes of traffic to.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I kind of wish Turpin gave me more as a receiver so I can feel great about.
Bobby Belt
Yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
Him kind of being on the. Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
I mean like Kyle, I got a question. What's that for you and Vodch and for everybody because Broadest made mention of this I think the other day. Is there any thought that you think him as a. Like, like getting more action as a receiver, like took away any from him as a return guy last year? Yeah, he did like, like his return. His return game wasn't as great but did like any of that. Do you think contribute because of the extra action receiver his return game.
Kyle Yeomans
And this is just my own personal opinion. Nobody said this to me. This is how I feel. It looked like he was trying to save energy or like not get hurt is what it looked like. I just remember him attacking much more like just returning the football. I didn't see him attack as much this last year. So I don't know what it is but that might be the case.
Nick Harris
You know I can help that.
Kyle Yeomans
Bobby smiling. Cause he hears him.
Bobby Belt
But please.
Vach Lombardi
No. You said attacking. And I'm just thinking like, yeah, he attacked when he would call. Fair catch.
Bobby Belt
Twice.
Vach Lombardi
Twice in two weeks.
Nick Harris
Yeah, that was bad. That was bad. I, I, you know, it could help. That is a dual returner system on kickoffs with Caleb Downs on the other side.
Vach Lombardi
Hey, dude. A lot of people forget like, what
Nick Harris
Caleb Downs has a real.
Vach Lombardi
Downs has a really good track record.
Bobby Belt
I don't know if I want him getting hit.
Vach Lombardi
Yeah, I don't want him. All right, go look up the Downs highlights. Returning. He is a beast. Returning.
Bobby Belt
He's electric.
Tommy Yarish
I think the biggest issue with Turpin on special teams last year.
Nick Harris
Yeah. Oh.
Tommy Yarish
Was the, the blocking that they had in front of him was so bad. Like, that special unit on kickoff returns was not good at all.
Vach Lombardi
He, he made bad decisions, though.
Tommy Yarish
But, but he's. I would say that he's done that in the past, too.
Bobby Belt
He.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm with time.
Vach Lombardi
I would not, any, I would not have him if the, if you have the returner lining up inside the 20, I would not have him doing it anymore.
Tommy Yarish
Oof.
Vach Lombardi
I agree. I think, I think he made way too many just critical mental errors back there. Whether it be ball would hit at the 20 and he'd let it bounce all the way, and then it's getting down to like the one pretty. I mean, he was having issues judging the ball.
Tommy Yarish
I'm not saying that that wasn't the case, but that again, I, I, you have seen that in the past of them, anyways. I think before that, in the years before that, you would see that there were more lanes for him to navigate through. I don't think that was there this past year.
Vach Lombardi
No, it wasn't.
Tommy Yarish
I don't think their kickoff return unit was as good. So, so again, the point you're making is correct. I'm not saying that he hasn't had his own mishaps here and there, but I think what was in front of him was significantly different than what he's had in the past.
Vach Lombardi
But I would also say that they, they pay him what they do because he's got 4:2 speed and they expect him to outrun some of that.
Tommy Yarish
Sure.
Bobby Belt
And remember, Brian Schottenheimer was a big proponent of his. As the offensive coordinator. Thought they weren't getting enough out of him under Mike McCarthy's system. And then once he took over as head coach, that was one of the expectations, was that Turpin was going to play a bigger role in the offense and he had a lot of drop. Never happened. And that's fair. You got to hold on to the ball. Fourth down at Denver was.
Nick Harris
Oh, that was critical.
Bobby Belt
All right. Final question of Twitter on the 20 here in 2026 or at least for the 26 draft class. Jordan James wants to know this is
Nick Harris
also running back at Oregon last year, wasn't it?
Bobby Belt
He was a running back. I think at some point Cowboys went Caleb Downs, Malachi Lawrence. We know that very well at 11 and 23. Would you personally have rather another scenario in that. That spot, the one that he provided specifically was Ruben Bain Jr. At 12. Dylan Feneman at 20. Said, I'm happy either way but just want to know if there's any other combination that's realistic that they could.
Vach Lombardi
Well, and in that combination you're saying goodbye to who in the fourth round. Which were those picks in the fourth round? It would be the Overton and Shelton and Moore. Was it Shelton and Moore Overton?
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
No, but the picks that you got from Overton.
Nick Harris
Oh, I see what you're saying.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Vach Lombardi
So more you're saying Lawrence, more Overton and Downs as well. I mean you're kind of having to factor that in.
Bobby Belt
You would have those two fifth round picks.
Vach Lombardi
I wouldn't.
Tommy Yarish
I'm good.
Vach Lombardi
There's maybe somebody. Maybe I can't remember who we were looking at there. Maybe there's somebody else. You go like maybe I'd prefer him a little bit at 23. But I not that I can remember. I don't remember there being somebody that was like a big blinking light.
Kyle Yeomans
If Caleb Downs is your first pick, then I really start to care less about what happens after that. You know what I'm saying? And I just wouldn't want to sacrifice that. If the. If the draft guys wanted to really shine upon us is let bane get the 20. And that didn't happen. So that didn't happen. I'm cool with whatever. Whatever. We.
Vach Lombardi
If you would have taken Bane at 12, I would have been more interested in Hood at 20 than I would have seen them in.
Bobby Belt
I agree with you and I think they. They probably would have said the same thing. What was that?
Tommy Yarish
I disagree.
Bobby Belt
I know you disagree. You love theaterman though. Fight for your guy. It's part of.
Tommy Yarish
I think he's a more complete player at his position. Like Hood has the best attacking in the run game than of all the corners I think in this class. But no, go ahead.
Kyle Yeomans
Downs return to football. Oh my goodness. This. This Bama right here, dude, he's a bad man. Back there, right here. Just go. Just leave. Just get out of here. Just go. I'm sorry, y'. All. My bad.
Bobby Belt
Continue, Tommy.
Tommy Yarish
No, I. I mean, I think that, you know, like, like I said, Hood is good and Press man, he's good when he comes down and attacks on the run game.
Bobby Belt
But where did Theta men end up?
Tommy Yarish
25 Chicago.
Bobby Belt
Oh, that's unfortunate for Thienaman. He's got to play in Chicago. All right, when we come back here on the Draft show, when we come back here on the draft show, we're going to wrap things up and we're going to finish talking about the day three selections for Dallas and some of these undrafted free agents where they could possibly fit into the equation. Yeah, whooping, whipping, whooping. I want to be clear too, by the way, because I'm certain I've not even looked at the comments. I'm certainly like, I love Brian, you guys. Brian is, is like family to me. Literally. We're on the same stage together. That's my guy. And I, I like to troll the ones I love. That's. That's what I'm doing to Brian.
Bobby Belt
That's good. I'm glad that's the case.
Vach Lombardi
Brian does not love me, though, I think. I'm not saying it's reciprocated. I'm saying I love him. I don't know that it's reciprocated.
Tommy Yarish
Comes from a place of love.
Vach Lombardi
That's good.
Bobby Belt
That's good. But now we, we do appreciate all the support. I said this to somebody on X a couple weeks ago, but the work that we do and the draft prep that we do would not be worth it if you guys weren't there from a fan side of things and listened and interacted and asked questions and had some fun with us throughout. Whether you agree or you disagree, that's part of the fun. And so we do appreciate everybody that's tuned in. And it's always a pleasure getting to go through this whole process and traveling across the country. If you're Tommy Yarish going to pro days or if you're Bobby going to the combine, Nick Harris to the Senior bowl and all in between there, it's. It's a lot of fun. But before we wrap things up here on this edition of the Draft Show, I want to talk about some of these, these day three picks for Dallas and. Or, excuse me, I want to talk about some of these undrafted free agents. We've talked a little bit about the day three picks. Anybody from that undrafted free agent class really stick out.
Tommy Yarish
Michael Trigg, tight end, Baylor.
Everson Walls
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
If he stays on the field and he, and he's, you know, participating, that's going to be. That has the potential to be really fun. He's 6 4, 240 pounds. You watch the highlight tape. He's a big target. He can make some ridiculous catches. He's great in contested situations. He'll just go out and pluck the ball out of the air with one hand. Here's the example of it. Poor number 28 for Auburn. They're just not big enough. And then this is where that frame comes in mind. You know, he can punch through, get those couple extra yards. But the athleticism is what is really intriguing to me. He kind of plays like a big wide receiver and I think that he can work up the middle of the field, he can work up the seam. I saw that Nick tweeted about it the other day that seam balls with Dak are so back. If Michael Trigg is in the equation, I think he's a guy that you can throw the ball to up there physical enough to go and get it.
Nick Harris
Can I say something?
Tommy Yarish
Sure.
Nick Harris
I was wrong about him on day three. I was heavily critical about his lack of route tree on day three on the draft show. I went back and watched and I am very wrong there. He's got some routery a little bit. Yeah, I'm very wrong. I think with, with Michael Trigg. The one thing that he has battled concerns with throughout his time, he started at usc, went to Ole Miss. He, he's been questioned about his maturity as far as like professional maturity.
Vach Lombardi
Cowboys did a ton of work on that too.
Nick Harris
And Cowboy and Lunda Wells took him out to dinner before his pro day, went to his pro day, worked him out individually. So they have a lot of context here with Michael Trigg talking about people at talking to people that are around the Baylor program though this last year he took a huge step forward and so you hope that carries into the NFL. And man, if you get a serious Michael Trigg entering this system, I really do think he's got Harold fan type of responsibility. I mean it is fun. It is a lot of fun. He maybe doesn't have fan and speed, but man, he's got the athleticism, he's got the catch radius. I'm very excited to watch him at camp.
Tommy Yarish
I was texting Nick, yeah, this is going to be a dime at training camp. These, these Michael Trigg clips where he goes up, jumps over somebody and makes a ridiculous catch is going to be
Nick Harris
a lot of fun from 70 yards away when Joe Milton throws it.
Bobby Belt
He's going to be a fan favorite at training camp.
Tommy Yarish
Look at these catches, man. Like he just makes that look so easy.
Bobby Belt
It was, it was funny because when we were talking about it on day three and I had a fourth round grade on this guy, I thought he belonged on day three because of some of the lapses in blocking and some of the things there. He's a receiving threat tight end though, and you can use him in a number of different ways. I thought when we were talking about it, I was maybe I had pause because I didn't know what the off the field stuff looked like. I didn't think he would still go undrafted though. I was shocked that even if there was some off the field concerns or question marks on his maturity, that's one thing I still didn't think his tape told me. Okay, he's got a little bit of a character thing. He should go undrafted. This is a draftable player and I think Dallas gets a steal there. I'd say the same about the Jordan Hudson, the wide receiver from smu, calling a couple games for them this past year. He was their number one target for much of the season and in big time moments. I was cutting up clips from a radio call a couple days ago and he was making plays over the top of people. Jordan Hudson, the SMU wide receiver might be my favorite of the bunch, along with Virginia Tech defensive tackle Kevin Gilliam. I like him as well as a guy who can maybe make some impact too. So any of those guys that you've watched and seen broken down there?
Kyle Yeomans
Va yeah, man. Trigg and Hudson. Trigg, I had a fourth round grade on him and Hudson, I had a five. And what I like about both of them is that they're Yak guys, you know what I'm saying? Now smu, I don't think they did a great job of getting Hudson to football. They didn't ask him to run a whole bunch of routes. I thought if they would have got him on the move or just like, like got him open a little bit, like let him go and be great after that. But like every time he would catch something, he's having to fight some defender. And he did a good job fighting the defender, but I thought he had so much more. So I had a 5 on him, could have been a 4. But Trigg, I think Trigg is super nice and I think if Dak's going to be throwing him the football, I don't see why he's not on the final roster. One thing that I've been saying on different shows, about four years ago, brother Stephen and Jerry had a press conference or something. I don't know what they was talking about, but it was when I first heard that John Stevens was going to make the team, but he got hurt. I was like, damn, you know what I'm saying? But I think what I took from that was that they want this kind of tight end on the roster. They want the jump ball, the catch radius guy, the goal line dude, the red zone threat. They want that guy on the roster. And I thought last year Valdo Fairweather was going to be that guy. He ended up in Arizona, whatever. So if Trigg in which I think he has better college film than both those guys, I just don't see a world where we get to camp. Trigg jumping over everybody, catching everything. He's humongous. And I know people don't like older players. You're a little older, but maybe that did something to his growth and development. Shouts out to him but if he has a fantastic camp, I could see a world where he's one of our four tight ends and Brevin continues to do his thing. Jake's the lead guy. And hey, man, Lipke might be that fourth dude again to do tight end fullback stuff.
Tommy Yarish
And remember too, is that Schoon Maker and Span Ford heading into the last year of their deals.
Vach Lombardi
Yeah.
Nick Harris
So speaking of Brevin, Span Ford, he lost a title this last weekend as the tallest player on the Dallas Cowboys. How about Shaz Pete? Kentucky Shiaz.
Tommy Yarish
I knew you're going to love that.
Nick Harris
Kentucky offensive tackle.
Kyle Yeomans
I used to be like that.
Nick Harris
6 foot 9, 304 pounds. You used to be like that?
Kyle Yeomans
I used to be shy as hell. I wasn't that big, right?
Nick Harris
6 foot 9, 304 pounds. Yeah. So if you want to see the big massive guy in Oxnard, it's going to be shy as Pete.
Kyle Yeomans
Gotta. Gotta get him out of that shell, man.
Bobby Belt
Yeah, yeah. He's gotta. Gotta speak to the masses, right?
Vach Lombardi
Yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Belt
Updated Cowboys free agent list. This is straight from nick Harris at Fort Worth Star Telegram there. Jordan Hudson, wide receiver, SMU. We just talked about him. Tight end D.J. rogers from TCU. Tight end Michael Trigg from Baylor. Defensive tackle Kevin or Kelvin Gilliam from Virginia Tech. Wide receiver Camden Brown from Georgia Southern. Tulsa running back Dominic Richardson, who again, American Conference player that I covered this past year. He was the best player on their offense by a significant margin. Good player.
Nick Harris
Started out at Baylor, too.
Bobby Belt
Yes, he did. Kansas defensive tackle D.J. withers. Kansas defensive tackle Tommy Dunn, Jr. Baylor offensive tackles Sidney Folger and then Kentucky offensive tackle. What is it? Shy as Pete. Shy as Pete. And then Vanderbilt linebacker Langston Patterson. Those are the updated Cowboys free agency. Some of those are minicamp invites though, right?
Nick Harris
No, those are. Those are.
Bobby Belt
Those are all udfa. Good to know.
Nick Harris
The minicamp invites that we are aware of right now, a Texas center, Cole Hudson. He's a Frisco native too, by the way, so that'll be cool. And then Zach Switzer, the grandson of Barry Switzer, running back from Presbyterian College, he'll be coming in. And yeah, maybe we get a Barry Switzer sighting this weekend.
Bobby Belt
That would be cool. Very cool. Rookie minicamp begins this week. Cowboys will have all those rookies, including the UDFAs, in the building. And it's the official end to the 2026 draft process. Appreciate you all again joining us throughout the weekend, throughout our final show here, and then staying up to date with all of us, special thanks to everyone who made this happen, starting from Derek Eagleton all the way down through the line. List of great professionals in the building that have allowed us to be on the air every single time and have the great footage and insight and stats along the way that help us put this all together. For Vach Lombardi, for Nick Harris, for Tommy Yarish, Bobby Belt, Chris Beam in the back, I'm Kyle Yeoman saying so long from the final draft show of the 2026 NFL Draft. Hope you had as much fun as we did. We'll see you next year with more. Presented by Miller Liquid. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys.com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

And now, Superhuman Shaq I keep telling them not to say that. I'm no superhuman. Believe it or not, I struggle with moderate obstructive sleep apnea, or osa, in adults with obesity. Moderate to severe OSA is a condition where breathing is interrupted during sleep, with loud snoring, choking, gasping for air and even daytime fatigue. Let's just say it can sound a lot like this. The hosts are optimistic about the Cowboys’ 2026 class—lauding the calculated, opportunistic moves to land blue-chip talent like Caleb Downs and potential long-term contributors like Malachi Lawrence and L.T. Overton. There’s also a healthy skepticism on certain picks, day 3 value debates, and a clear “wait and see” for how the crowded WR and TE rooms shake out. Undrafted free agents like Michael Trigg and Jordan Hudson could prove to be hidden gems if they develop quickly.
