Now, your hosts, Vach Lombardi, Nick Harris, Bobby Belt, Tommy Yarish and Kyle Yeomans. Today is Friday, January 30, 2026, and we are 83 days away from the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Welcome in to the Draft show presented by Miller Light, the official beer and the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. Back alongside Tommy Irish and Nick Harris. I'm Kyle Yeoman's final time here from the Senior bowl in Mobile, Alabama, wrapping up on Radio Row with a little bit of bonus content for everybody from some of these interviews that we had throughout the week that we didn't get to fit into a show earlier in the week, but it's been so busy for us talking to these prospects, trying to get to know the draft class, know a lot of the guys that are here in Mobile and it's been a busy week, but a fruitful one at that.
Nick Harris
Nick yeah, absolutely. And, and getting these in person evaluations off the field and on the field are so valuable. You know, I talk about data, data points are so incredibly valuable in this time in the process. And the more you can acquire between now and April 23rd, the, the, the more context and the more informed decisions you, you end up making on draft day. And so yeah, super valuable time for us. I, I think these, these four days here in Mobile and then the five in Indianapolis during the combine. Some of the most valuable times that you will have during this entire process.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, and a lot of these practices are just good on good and it's for some of these guys, some of the D3 guys, some of the smaller school guys, we get to see them go up against the bigger school guys, the guys who have had more resources and who have had more things available at their disposal. And like Drew Fabian just told us yesterday, it is no, you are not seeing a lot of disparity. You are not seeing a lot of guys getting work completely like everybody. Yeah, everybody seems to be in the right spot at the right time. They're playing well and they're playing physical. So it's all things that you can enjoy.
Kyle Yeomans
I think one thing that's really beneficial for us specifically, and really our draft show viewership too, is the Cowboys have been so defensive focused. Right. The whole off season is going to be centered around this defense. Well, this week we've really had a good chance to look at the offensive side of the NFL draft and some of the standouts on that side. And I think while we've all kind of been outspoken about certain position groups and how some maybe aren't up to the caliber of past draft classes in certain areas, I think we've seen some guys rise this week that have at least caught our eye. I know you were really high on the the USC wide out Jacobe Lane on, on Wednesday and what he was putting onto tape as well. So some of the things that we've seen this week aren't just centered around what the Cowboys are doing. It's centered around what the draft class looks like as a whole.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, absolutely. Jacoby Lane, the wide receiver from USC, 6, 491 pounds, super tall. He's got long arms and can go up and get anything down the field. He was winning a ton downfield this week. Issue is, you know, maybe he's a little bit light to sometimes impress. He can get bogged up a little bit, but if you throw the football his way, there's a good chance he can go up and get it. So you have to like that. And then just sticking with offensive guys, it's a little bit quieter. I don't know if this just pop with you guys as much, but Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. Felt like every time I looked up I was like, oh, he's running. Kind of running pretty well for his size and he moves really well for his size. Six foot tall, 228 pounds. This is a bigger dude, but he's full into his frame and he runs. He's pretty. He's quicker than you'd think when he's carrying the football.
Nick Harris
Yeah. Speaking of running backs, a guy I wanted to get my eyes on just from a physical standpoint this week was Jamari Taylor. He came in the running back out of Virginia. He came in at 5 foot 9, 205 pounds. I wanted to see if that frame looked stocky or if he looked slim and you know There might be, you know, not enough contact, balance or power at the next level or play strength that he would have to play with, but that that has not been on display this week. He's done a really good job of being able to use that frame. He has that bowling ball, stocky type of frame. You know, I would compare it to Manon guy from last year, just for easy context. You know, shorter guy but wider, stouter. A couple of guys that I have really shined for me on a few reps. Jaden Ott is such a fascinating case study because he had such a great start to his career at California and probably could have been one of the top running backs in the draft last year if he decided to come out. But he goes to Oklahoma and just things never quite worked at Oklahoma and that running back room has had a lot of issues over the course of the last couple of years. Not a lot of consistency. And Jaden Ott, I think, was not a benefactor of that exact equation. And so, you know, this is a big process for him to be able to show like, hey, that year I had a cow. I still have that ability. And whether it be in pass protection, receiving game, finding holes up the middle in team, team drills, he's done a really good job. And then I want to shout out a TCU guy, Bud Clark at safety. I think he's done a fantastic job this week talking to a couple of the coaches that have been on, on the national staff. He's been someone that stood out in meeting rooms as well. So Bud Clark has been a popular name here in Mobile.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah. One guy I wanted to put out there too is key John Owens at the running back position. Florida International or FIU. Five foot ten, 206 pounds is what he weighed in as. Not the biggest running back you'll ever see. He's got some home run threat ability and I wanted to see him as a receiver as well. And he's done some solid things. Not the best week, and I don't think I would put him above Jay Knott or even Washington from some of the names that you've, you've put out there. But as a small school guy, stepping up and showing that elusiveness is important and I think we've seen a little bit of that throughout the week.
Nick Harris
You think he's met Pitbull? They play in pit bull stadium.
Kyle Yeomans
Pit bull Stadium, right to 305 maybe. Who knows? He was really good. Now a couple other guys offensively that I think stood out.
Tommy Yarish
I.
Kyle Yeomans
We're not looking at quarterback From a Cowboy standpoint, at least not yet. But Garrett Nussmeier, LSU has had a really good week. He's been throwing the ball well. He had the throw of the day, in my opinion, on a rope all the way to wide receiver Louis Bond on the right sideline. It was a deep over the shoulder throw that he could not have run down there better than what he did. And then Luke Altmire, the Illinois quarterback who was a two time all Big Ten honoree, somebody that I thought has had a pretty good start to the season too, across the board. So some quarterbacks that have stood out, of course not on the radar for the Cowboys specifically, but somebody that of course you want to keep an eye on too.
Tommy Yarish
And I'll add Luke Altmire, the Illinois quarterback. I think he's been the best all around quarterback.
Kyle Yeomans
That's a good ad.
Tommy Yarish
Dude, you said his name, didn't you just. I was looking for another point. So that's, that's. Keep going. I think, I think Altmeyer has been the most consistent quarterback. I think you and I were talking about him yesterday in terms of he's so poised in the pocket. There's been a lot of disruption for these quarterbacks. We talk a lot about this offensive line group. Struggling defensive ends are crashing in. Almer does a good job of hanging in there, waiting till the last second to find his spots and find his receivers. I think he's done a really good job of that. Another fascinating one in this quarterback room for me is Taylor Green out of Arkansas. He's 6. 6 and he runs like a gazelle. He is incredible in open space as a runner. He had arguably, I think the throw of the day yesterday to Malachi Coleman where he was rolling out, steps up in the pocket, throws some ridiculous motion. It was a dime over the shoulder of the Notre Dame wide receiver Malachi Fields. Excuse me, not Coleman. I just, I really wonder what that ceiling looks like. You think about these big arm mobile quarterbacks in the last couple years like a Jalen Milroe last year as one who is much more stockier. But I don't, I don't. Maybe you guys can remind me of someone that I'm forgetting. Off top of my head. I don't remember one of them that's this tall, that's this big in stature, up and down. And that's really intriguing to me of. I don't know if he's a starting quarterback at the NFL level, but is there a way that this guy can be utilized?
Nick Harris
I'll give you One. Joe Milton.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, Joe was one from a big.
Nick Harris
Arm and tall standpoint.
Kyle Yeomans
And how tall was Justin Herbert measured as he's, he's a, that's a little.
Nick Harris
I would put that in a different.
Kyle Yeomans
Category though, because one's a pocket passer, one's not.
Nick Harris
Taylor Green might not be a quarterback the next level.
Kyle Yeomans
He might not be.
Nick Harris
And I, I think there were, there, were they, there were the same questions about Joe Milton.
Kyle Yeomans
You know, I'm just talking pure size.
Nick Harris
For, for sure, for sure. But another quarterback that's been intriguing is Luke, Luke Altmire. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Kyle Yeomans
That was, that was pretty cool.
Nick Harris
Let me say this about Taylor Green, okay? I, I hope that there is some, I, I, I don't even know what the. I hope there is some openness for him to potentially play some offensive roles to the next level other than quarterback. Sure, get drafted, go play in that quarterback room. But be open to go in that receiver room. Be open to go in that tight end room because I think he has athleticism to stick in the league. I do. I just, I don't know if it's at quarterback because I don't see the consistency enough.
Kyle Yeomans
It's happened before and it can't happen again.
Nick Harris
Denard Robinson was, he carved a career that should not have lasted long if he did not do that.
Kyle Yeomans
One of our guys, Isaiah Stamback, did that, you know, back in the day. And that was even when he was before his time as a mobile quarterback and as somebody. But he made a career and a, a legitimate career out of what he was doing at the wide receiver position, not necessarily at the quarterback position, even though he went back and forth.
Tommy Yarish
Well, I remember we talked about the pressure getting these quarterbacks, they got to maneuver the pocket. Green is a guy that has been under constant pressure, I mean, even on the play to Fields yesterday, where he throws the good pass, he was maneuvering and when he gets out of the pocket, I remember specifically this one play in team period where plays over, right, they give him the sack or whatever and he just, you know, finishes the play. And Michael Taft, the safety from Texas, I'm not trying to dunk on him or anything here. He tries to, you know, he's trying to finish the play to show the hard effort, whatever, and it's just no chance, like it's not even close. And so that, that's what intrigues me so much about Green. I agree with you. I think any sort of offensive role, I think you got a chance there. You know, what kind how he tests the combine I think is going to be really interesting because if he has a good vertical, then I think you're going to get a lot of, a lot of teams saying, okay, let's trot him out at wide receiver and see if we can make this work.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, lots of points across the board with some of these players that we've seen throughout the week here in Mobile. Let's get to some of the interviews that we haven't been able to show on the draft show earlier this week. And starting with Chandler Rivers the corner out of Duke now joined by Chandler Rivers out of Duke. And Chandler, first off, it's not just good to catch up with you this morning, it's early morning conversation. But it's good to see a familiar face. Right, because you guys have a little bit of history going back to the recruiting days. Nick?
Nick Harris
Yeah, I covered him when I was working at 247 sports and rivals made a few trips down to Beaumont. That good five and a half hour, six hour drive. But when you enter southeast Texas, you know you're going to fight some dogs like this one.
Kyle Yeomans
And what did it mean for you to have that type of upbringing in Texas high school football? There's nothing quite like it. And to have the impact that you did on your college career too?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I mean I feel like high school, Texas 68 ball in high school or even 58 ball in high school. It prepares you well for college. And then in college I felt like I just had a great career and I can attest to that to my high school career and develop there.
Kyle Yeomans
What's this week been like for you so far?
Chandler Rivers
It's been pretty good. It's been a learning experience. I'm glad I got to be out there with some, some great talent going against them every day and even off the field just seeing how they are as people. Pretty good, good experience this past year for you guys.
Tommy Yarish
You know, obviously the, the ACC was kind of tight knit. Everybody was kind of at the top and then out of nowhere you guys come out and just win the whole thing. What was that, what was that experience like and what went into that end of season push for you guys to get to the ACC title game and end up winning it?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I mean this season for us as a whole was like, it was up and down season. We, we lost a few games out of conference that we weren't supposed to win. But when people ask us like how do we end up in the championship game? I'd be like, I mean our conference record was Six and two. We were tied with, like, five other teams, and the right teams lost, so that got us in. Then once we got in there, it was just like, might as well win now. We're already here. So that just went into it, and it just shows, like, how the team was and how we responded to adversity. And we did a good job with that. And I feel like it ended the way it was supposed to end for all the seniors.
Tommy Yarish
Coach Diaz has a strong history of putting guys in the NFL. What did he do for you at Duke to maybe from a technical standpoint or a technique standpoint, to teach you to get to the point where you're at and have as good of a career as you had?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, because Diaz, he's all about trusting his players when it comes to, like, play calling on offense and defense and things that win is technique. And that's something he preaches day in and day out. Like, if your technique is good, then there's nobody that should beat you. If you're a receiver, if your technique is good, there's nobody else should be able to guard you. And that's just how he preaches every day. So just going with him every day, teaching awareness stuff, teaching little details and going up in a little detail, that just helped a lot in my development.
Nick Harris
I don't know how much from your high school, your career, you being overlooked, how much you carry that. It's kind of a chip on your shoulder in your college career as well. But going to Duke and shining early on and then throughout your career and now you're getting to this NFL draft stage where you have the opportunity to go round one, round two, just that type of progression. What do you attribute that to?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I mean, it's just how I was raised, how I grew up is just can't really. You can't please everybody. There's going to be something about. There's going to be something about yourself that everybody doesn't like. Everybody's not going to like you. And I mean, a lot of stuff has with me has to do with my height, which is something I really can't control. And it's okay with me. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with being an underdog. I'm okay with. That's part of why I went to Duke. Like, I was okay with being that underdog and then having to work myself up in the. In the college rankings or whatever. So just going in every day and putting my head down, getting to work was just something I like. I just love Doing and meeting with.
Nick Harris
These 32 teams here, what is the question you probably hear the most, or one or two you hear the most? And what's your answer to them?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I feel like. Like, I kind of just said the question I hear is the most. How do you respond to adversity about your height and stuff? Like, because, I mean, I'm obviously a smaller corner. So, I mean, my answer to that is, just go out there and just be me. Like, at the end of the day, if I was an inch or two taller, conversations would probably be way different. And it's just something I can't control in life. That's how I was born. That's how I was. Like, that's just how it was. So it's like, I can't control it. So I'm not gonna really trip on it. I'm just gonna control what I can control.
Nick Harris
Do you have any shorter corners that you idolize or kind of look up to in the league?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah. I mean, I love Micah Sarastein. Mike Sarastein from the commanders. Like, I love watching his tape. And now Upton Stout. He's a Texas guy also.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah.
Nick Harris
North Shore, huh?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah. I just love watching their games. They just put good stuff on tape and. And they just show the younger guys, younger DBs that, like, you can get it done.
Kyle Yeomans
One thing that stands out to me, whenever you look at your coverage breakdown and your alignment breakdown, in college, you played 600 snaps on the boundary compared to just 150 in the slot. Have you talked to teams about where they would play you? Are they going to keep you mostly as a nickel, or would they keep you outside as well?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I mean, in college, I mean, I only played in the slot for the most part, on third down. So it's like, I'm comfortable playing the slot. I love being in the slot. The slide is actually really fun. But when I talk to teams, I mean, of course they have conversations about having me playing in the slot because of the height, which is fine with me, but I just want teams to know that I'm versatile. If you need me to play corner, I could play corner. If you need me to play in the slot, I could play in the slot. If you need me at safety, I can play safety. So it's really just wherever you want me at, wherever can help the team. That's where I want to be.
Kyle Yeomans
I was looking at that as well. I was about to ask about the safety snaps, too. When were you playing? A little bit of safety, and it was both free and strong. I mean, you were kind of all over that defense. When. When did those opportunities and those alignments come up?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I mean, it's just like it comes to like just knowing the defense, knowing the ins and out of defense, and then knowing how teams are trying to beat you, like schematically wise. And then Coach Diaz, when he came in, he allowed me to be able to move around in the secondary and be able to show that. That, that skill set of mine off. And I, I'm thankful that he allowed me to do that. And good things happened the past two.
Tommy Yarish
Years that you talked about the conversations you've been having with teams. Obviously, teams are going to have conversations within themselves about plenty of players here over the next few weeks, whether it be what they learned from you this week or watching back the Duke film. What do you hope that they say at the end of it about Chandler Rivers?
Chandler Rivers
I mean, the biggest thing is off the field that he's a good character guy. He has a good personality.
Tyron Montgomery
He.
Chandler Rivers
He loves being around people. He loves talking to people. Like people love being around him. And then on the field is just everything you see on film. That's what you get. Like, that's what I came out here to show.
Nick Harris
What would a team be getting if they draft you?
Chandler Rivers
Like I just said, off the field, you'll get a good character guy, like no off the field chubbers ever. So you get a good character guy off the field. On the field, you just get someone that makes the defense better as a whole.
Kyle Yeomans
And that's exactly what we feel like you were talking about guy you enjoy talking to. We've enjoyed talking to you here as well. If you had one pitch to give to any NFL team, not just the Cowboys specifically, but what would it be? And tell me into the camera, what would be your pitch to an NFL team that wants to draft you?
Chandler Rivers
Yeah, I'll say I've been going through adversity all my life and every time I came out on the good end of it. So, I mean, you're going to get a high character guy and a guy that's not afraid of going through challenges.
Caleb Douglas
Yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
Chandler Rivers, cornerback from Duke, who is already been a standout throughout the week here in Mobile. Chandler, thanks so much. Appreciate you taking some time and good luck the rest of the week.
Chandler Rivers
Thank you. Thank you. Thanks for having me.
Kyle Yeomans
All right, more of the draft show coming up in just a little bit here. From radio row at the 2026 Benini Senior bowl, this is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. Now let's get into the Serious stuff. We're talking football food, specifically Daisy French onion dip.

Caleb Douglas
Yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
And every bite.
Tommy Yarish
I know you.
Nick Harris
I know you.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm a huge sour cream guy. I love sour cream. So I think burritos can't live without sour cream.
Chandler Rivers
I completely agree with that.
Kyle Yeomans
They also have daisy ranch dip. I love ranch.
Tyron Montgomery
Yeah, that's great.

This is the Dallas Cowboys.com draft show. Welcome back into the Draft show presented by Miller Lite, the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. Once again here from radio row in Mobile, Alabama, back alongside Tommy Yarish. Nick Harris had to step aside for a meeting real quick, but back here I'm Kyle Yeomans now joined by Tyron Montgomery, the wide receiver out of John Carroll that is turning heads all week long here in Mobile. Not just because of your film, which has certainly been turning heads, but really the story as well. Thanks for taking some time and joining us. Talk about your journey here. Being a basketball player, high level basketball player that you were, and then taking a step forward like you did, it's been really fun to watch. How much did that decision and that journey prepare you for this moment?
Tyron Montgomery
So y' all just want me to tell my story?
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, tell your story all the way through.
Tyron Montgomery
So you know, in high school I was a basketball player. I didn't touch the game of football at all. I didn't even think about the game of football. I ended up going to LSU to walk on for basketball. That first semester I was there, I had to come back home. My mother got sick, she had bladder cancer. So I had to come home, handle business, you know, at the house. So it was around the COVID time a lot of stuff was shut down and basketball was no longer in the vision. So I was gonna try to get a job. But you couldn't even get a job during COVID cause nothing was open. So then one day me and my brother, we was in the backyard throwing the football and he's like, look bro, you might as well try this out. You ain't got nothing else to do with your life. And I was like, shoot, I guess, why not? So then I ended up enrolling to the University of Houston once I got there, I tried to walk on, but, you know, with the Kobe, a lot of guys got that Covid year, and they came back. So there was no roster spots available for me. So I had to figure out what could I do or what film could I get to get on a collegiate roster with no high school football film. So I ended up uploading some routes on air onto Facebook. And there was a guy named Eddie Franco who has a flag football team out of Miami, Florida. And he was like, look, bro, we got a tournament in Vegas. Come out. Let's see what you could do. So I went to Vegas, I did my thing, and I ended up getting the chance to be on the Olympics for flag football. But they told me if I were to do that, I'd lose all my college eligibility. And I was like, you know, I didn't start playing the game of football to be a flag football player. No offense to them, but.
Tommy Yarish
Right.
Tyron Montgomery
So then Eddie, he knows this guy named Deuce Schwartz. Deuce Schwartz is the offensive quality control Coach for the 49ers. Deuce at the time, was at Mizzou. So I formed a highlight tape together from flag football. Send it to Deuce, Deuce sent it to Mizzou and a couple other schools, and they were all interested, but they were scared to take the chance with me because I never put shoulder pads on a day in my life, which was pretty valid.
Caleb Douglas
Sure.
Tyron Montgomery
So then my film ended up getting to Nicholls State, Nichols State. Like me, they. They let me walk on. The first year I was there, 2022, I couldn't play because I switched my major, like, four or five times in school, and I didn't have enough credits towards a major, so I had to sit out that first year. But I was on the practice squad, so I was able to, like, you know, try to find my way with that. And in 2023, I was still a walker. And I started my first four or five games of the season. I ended up getting hurt. I had a right ankle sprain injury. I missed the game. I came back, and I just lost my spot. Like, it's just, you know, part of the business. So then I was like, you know, I gotta find my next step, like. So I entered the transfer portal. Come to find out, the NCAA told me I had no more D1 eligibility left. So I was like, okay. So I had to go down. So then Eddie, the same guy who ran the flag football team, knows Coach Jeff Bearman. Coach Jeff Bearman is not a head coach for Bucknell, but at the time, he was the head coach of John Carroll. And he hit me up and was like, todd, look, we saw your tape within. He was like, within the first 30 seconds, we knew we loved you. He was like, we know you got aspirations to play in the league, and we got 40 plus alums that are in the league as far as in executives, coaches, and stuff like that. And once he told me that, I was like, shoot, I'm going to John Carroll. And then ever since then, the rest has been history.
Tommy Yarish
Well, yeah, we were talking before the show started about his basketball background. My high school team played against him while I was the manager. He gave us 15 points, and they beat us. So I wasn't happy about that part.
Kyle Yeomans
But it's not like it stuck around or anything salty about it.
Tommy Yarish
What is that now, seven years later?
Kyle Yeomans
Goodness gracious.
Tommy Yarish
But you know what's so amazing about that story is it seemed like when you got started, it seemed like there was always something and there was always something. How did you keep your head above water and keep the confidence level high to say, you know, I know this is new to me.
Tyron Montgomery
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
At one point, I haven't even put shoulder pads on, But I still believe that I can make it to the Senior bowl, that I can make it to the NFL.
Tyron Montgomery
You know, I've overcame a lot of adversity growing up. My mom used to tell me and my. Me and my brother that we was going to be NFL stars. And I used to always brush her off and be like, mom, you don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to the NBA. So then, I don't know, like, my brother taught me how to run my first slant route. And then after that, it just started feeling natural. So I think. I think once it felt natural, I just kind of stuck with it. And I'm a big optimistic guy. I'm a big journal guy. So I just started manifesting all the things that I wanted in life and living as if it already happened. And now here we are, and it's like, you know, the power of the tongue, power to mind, power of belief has just all played out in my favor.
Kyle Yeomans
So it's really incredible the. The story and how you got there, but when did you realize, maybe after you started playing football, when did you realize the NFL was a legitimate possibility? When was that. Was there ever a clicking moment or anything that stuck out to you?
Tyron Montgomery
I want to say I always believed in myself. I feel like the big clicking moment is probably when I got to John Carroll.
Chandler Rivers
Yeah.
Tyron Montgomery
Like, they let me mess up and learn. Like, I wasn't penalized for the mistakes that I was making on the field. So, yeah, I think once I got to John Carroll and I was able to get my feet wet and elevate my game and just learn from my mistakes, and I noticed that I had coaches around me that wanted me to succeed as well, and they had the relationships as well. I felt like, you know, if I keep sticking with it, keep working hard, keep believing in myself, this could all work out in my favor.
Kyle Yeomans
What were some of the mistakes and things that you learned in that process?
Tyron Montgomery
Um, reading coverages.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Tyron Montgomery
Playbooks, alignments within routes, depths of routes. Yeah, those are the key things.
Tommy Yarish
What is this week been like, you know, a D3 school that you're coming from? A lot of guys here have come from some of those smaller programs, and now you're going up against SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10 players. What has that been like for you? Do you notice the shift in competition? How do you feel like you have handled that?
Tyron Montgomery
I'm a strong believer in you rise to the level of your training. I mean, it's been a lot of. A lot of work I've been putting in the dark. So, I mean, at the end of the day, I just see it as names. Like, they just got a different color helmet than me. Granted, there was a bigger schools than me, but I didn't think they really meant anything. Like, I just didn't think they work harder than me. I've been working. I mean, I've only been playing the game two and a half years, and I've came a long way. So I just trusted my training, trusted the work that I put in, and I got a strong team around me that believes in me as well. So I think that just as well helped my confidence level, and I'm a very optimistic guy. I don't look at anything as bad or anything. I feel like everything is a learning lesson, so I just stuck with it. Stay positive.
Tommy Yarish
Well, that's been very evident on film this week. And last one for you. What. When you talk about, you know, the stepping up to the level of competition and things like that. When you leave here this week with only two and a half years under your belt, what are you hoping NFL scouts and teams say about you then?
Tyron Montgomery
I'm hungry. I'm a hard worker, and I'm humbled. Yeah, like the Triple H. I mean, that's what I've been living by. I mean, whatever team decides to take the chance on me, I just want them to know, you know, I'm going to come in there, work hard, do my thing, get on the field and perform.
Kyle Yeomans
And you've been doing that all week long. We even talked with Drew Fabianic earlier in the week. He was very highly impressed by what you've done to this point and it's been, it's been noticed. So keep up the good work. Congratulations on getting to this point and we look forward to seeing you in the NFL down the line.
Tyron Montgomery
Yeah, thank you. Thank you for having me.
Kyle Yeomans

Cowboys I'm Dak Prescott, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
Kyle Yeomans
And they snap it to Prescott who looks right. It's not there. He escapes left. He'll run for a first down.
Chandler Rivers
Just like football, when it comes to crypto, it's important to have a team you can trust. With blockchain.com I know I'm in good hands. Since 2011, they've been trusted by millions around the world to buy, sell and trade cryptocurrency.
Kyle Yeomans
Prescott's gonna run this himself. Run it up the middle and he scores.
Chandler Rivers
Whether you're new to crypto or an app active trader, they've got you covered. What are you waiting for?
Kyle Yeomans
Get started@blockchain.com this is the Dallas Cowboys.com draft show continuing on here from Radio Row in Mobile, Alabama. Continuing with the theme of wide receivers, here as well. And we've got a gentleman here from Texas Tech who's had a phenomenal start to his Senior bowl tenure. Caleb Duckla is out of Texas Tech. And Caleb, it's been really fun watching not only you, but really all of the Red Raiders. And we'll get to some of the teammates of yours here in a little bit, but talk about your week so far and how it's gone up to this point.
Caleb Douglas
I'm pretty satisfied with it. Can't wait for it today. Have another opportunity, so go out there and do some more.
Kyle Yeomans
It's a big week for wide receivers, especially these one on ones. The entire country, it feels like, is watching a lot of what you're doing. I mean, how do you feel like your skill level has translated to an all star game like this?
Caleb Douglas
I really just say just going out there and just kept. Keep doing things I've been doing all season. For real?
Tyron Montgomery
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
I want to go back to your high school days a little bit. At Fort Bend Hightower, out of Missouri City, Anthony Cornelius, your head coach, played in the NFL. Now that you're going through this process, what has he taught you about being a professional at this level, how to handle things like this and how to prepare for making the jump from college to the league?
Caleb Douglas
Really just always being a pro. If you felt like when you was in high school you wanted to be a pro, you supposed to do that since then, not just automatically switch once.
Kyle Yeomans
You get here and it feels. Go ahead.
Tommy Yarish
No, you got it.
Kyle Yeomans
I was just gonna say, growing up in Texas high school football, I mean, you had to be an elite athlete to even stand out from that crowd. I mean, when did it kind of click for you that you were good enough to make it to the next level and then ultimately make it to the NFL, too?
Caleb Douglas
I say, like, the end of my junior year, I was getting a lot of buzz. Once I had switched from quarterback to receiver, like my first year really playing, I was already kind of getting offers. I was like, okay, hold on. I can kind of be legit with this. So really just kept going.
Kyle Yeomans
And what was that transition like, going from quarterback to receiver? How tough was that on you, or did it come naturally?
Caleb Douglas
It was really natural. You know, we playing quarterback, y'.
Tyron Montgomery
All.
Kyle Yeomans
You.
Caleb Douglas
I feel like you're the one catching the most passes every. Every game. You want to be honest because you're getting it from the center, especially high school, you shotgun every time.
Tyron Montgomery
Yeah.
Caleb Douglas
So when I went out there, it was really just a natural. Just throw the ball up. And I was Catching it.
Tommy Yarish
Coach Cornelius didn't want to do anything under center eye formation, nothing like that.
Caleb Douglas
Nah. The person that switched me was Joseph Sam, my previous head coach.
Tommy Yarish
Okay.
Caleb Douglas
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
So you started at Florida, went to Texas tech. These last two years for you guys with Coach McGuire has been a lot of fun to watch, obviously, this year culminating in a college football playoff run. When you look back at the last couple of years of your college career, what stood out to you? What makes you feel like you've grown the most when you've been in Lubbock?
Caleb Douglas
I really just say getting more opportunities for real, going out there and just making the best of them. Going out there, trying to be consistent and really just going out there, ready to learn, going out there and just open ears.
Tommy Yarish
And this year specifically, you run to the Big 12 championship game and then the playoffs. So much was made of your defense and guys like David Bailey, Jacob Rodriguez. The offense, though, you guys held your own as well. What did you feel like clicked for you in the passing game with Baron and those kinds of guys to get you guys down the field and capitalize off of that defense?
Caleb Douglas
Him really just trusting us, going out there and letting us go out there and make plays and going out there and just lobbing up to us and really just, like I say, trusting us real and come with trust.
Tommy Yarish
As you've gone throughout the week and had these conversations with NFL teams, what kind of feedback are you getting from them and what are you hoping that you can show them in these practices?
Caleb Douglas
Really just hoping to show them that I can do more than just the big ball. Go out there. I can feel like I can contribute to any way that they need me to and just really just be a player.
Kyle Yeomans
And you've done that throughout the week as well. But so have some of those other teammates of yours from Texas Tech. I know this is a Cowboys channel, and of course, there are a lot of Cowboys fans out there that want to see defense. Before we get to your teammates, what would you tell them on why the Cowboys should draft you in terms of a wide receiver weapon on the outside?
Caleb Douglas
You have another CD out there? My nickname is also cd Just without the extra E's in there. Really just go out there and really just feel like I can be a good little trio with them. Well, Pickens is a free agent now, but we go out there and really just help them. Go out there and just throw the ball up. Let us go out there and just do what we do.
Kyle Yeomans
Caleb knows ball. He's like, oh, he's a free agent. He's got to get tagged first. You know, it's a big conversation that's happening in the building, too. But, yeah, that's.
Caleb Douglas
That's the.
Kyle Yeomans
That's been the conversation of, hey, best player available. And that's always been everybody that follows the NFL draft. And when you're the best player available on the board, they haven't shied away from that at certain times. So maybe that is something on the horizon. But tell me about some of those defensive guys that you had to go up against. Now. You didn't have to go up against that front seven. You didn't have to go up against Romello, hiatus and Lee Hunter and those guys up front. But tell us about that defense and just how tough it was going up against them in practice every year.
Caleb Douglas
I feel like kind of was an older defense, so they, like, they're very experienced. They communicate very well. Like, you got Cole Whiz, he was at the east and West. And then you got Bryce Pollock, he's coming back for another year. And then really just like Jacob Rodriguez being like. I feel like the leader of it, the heart and soul of it, just making sure everybody in the right spots, everybody going 100% all the time, really, just going out there making plays as well.
Tommy Yarish
I'm curious with. With Jacob, because it seems like every. Every practice we've seen him, and obviously during the season, he has such a knack for finding the ball and turning the ball over. When you think back to those practices, how many times were you like, guys, we gotta. We gotta stop this guy from punching the ball?
Caleb Douglas
Yeah. I mean, honestly, in practice, it really. I feel like it didn't happen as much because, like, we know who.
Tommy Yarish
You guys had a plan for him.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Caleb Douglas
Like, we. Making sure that when we run around there, we.
Tommy Yarish
Two hands.
Caleb Douglas
Yeah, two hands on the ball all the time, really. And then I feel like he just. He's a natural at finding the ball because he was also a previous quarterback. So he know when to, like, when to look for, when to punch at and stuff like that.
Kyle Yeomans
What was the toughest defense you ever went up against? Whether it was Texas Tech in practice or one of the defenses that you.
Caleb Douglas
Played for, surely Texas Tech in practice. But I say, if we had to choose a second, I say Utah, could they. They blitzed a lot. A lot of pressure. I wasn't the one really dealing with the pressure, but they did make sure that we didn't really get the ball a lot.
Kyle Yeomans
So, yeah, hey, if you're not, you might be dealing with the pressure. Just in a different way. You're having to run shorter routes in the middle of a little bit more traffic there too. But Caleb, it's been fun getting to talk to you here, getting to watch you throughout the week as well. Both you and the rest of the Texas Tech team that's represented out here. Congrats on all the success going to the College Football Playoff and then showing out this week in Mobile. Looking forward to the rest of the draft process.
Caleb Douglas
Oh yeah, I appreciate that.
Chandler Rivers
There you go.
Kyle Yeomans
Caleb Douglas, Texas Tech wide receiver. Keep a lookout for him as time goes on. When we come back. We're going to wrap up this edition of the draft show right after this. Get started@blockchain.com this is the Dallas Cowboys.com draft show. Wrapping things up here on the Draft show presented by Miller Light, the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. Once again, special thanks to Tyron Montgomery from John Carroll and from Caleb Douglas from Texas Tech for sitting down with us earlier in the week. Back alongside Tommy Yarish and Nick Harris. I'm Kyle Yeomans, and this is our final segment here from radio row in the Senior bowl in 2026. It's sad to see it go because it's one of our favorite events of the year, but it's a step in the draft process. We still got a long way to go. Like I said at the beginning of the show, 83 days away in that to that NFL draft in Pittsburgh, and there's still a lot, a lot left. What are you looking for as we move forward going through the week?
Nick Harris
Yeah, now the big part is the training aspect. All these guys are going to go back either to their colleges or they're going to go back to their training programs. There's a lot in Phoenix, there's a lot in Dallas, there's a lot in Atlanta, Miami. Those are kind of the hubs for these guys. How do they get back up to play speed? And when they go test at the combine, you know, what does that look like after a month of training? And so that's, that's the big thing right now. And then, you know, you, you look ahead to pro days as well, and it's a very similar conversation. But now all eyes turn to the combine and it's going to be. It's going to be fascinating to see which guys really test well. I think some guys are going to really improve their stock. Some guys that we did not get to see this week that we will definitely see in Indianapolis. I can't wait. Combine is. Combine is my Christmas.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, I would agree with that. Combine is one of the best trips of the year along with this. You know, this is such an awesome trip. The folks here at the Senior bowl are incredible to us. We appreciate them. I always enjoy coming out here with you guys. And like, like Nick said, it's all about these data points, right? And this is a huge data point because it's one of the first bigger events leading up to the combine. The combine, I think is the. One of the biggest ones and you get the most out of that. But it starts with the Senior bowl, starts with the Shine bowl and those kinds of things. So getting eyes on a lot of these players, seeing how they play in football settings and pad settings, this will be the last time we see that at the combine. It's just underwear Olympics of sorts. So this is a nice setting to see how they play alongside some of the best at their competition as well, and see how they who rises to the occasion and who doesn't.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, no doubt about it. One guy I do want to mention before we get out of here is Luke Altmire, the Illinois quarterback. He's been really good throughout the week.
Tommy Yarish
And that's a great point, Kyle. Really good point.
Kyle Yeomans
No, that's. That's it for us here from Senior Bowl. I just wanted to end it that way just to mess with Tommy. All right, bye, guys. See you later. Special thanks to Molly Middleton and the entire Senior bowl communications crew, who has helped us line up a lot of these interviews and kept us on track throughout the week. And for Scott Purcell for lugging around all sorts of equipment and setting it all up and getting us on the air. Chris Beam and everybody back home as well for helping out through this trip. It's always a conservative effort from everybody to make these shows happen here in Mobile, Alabama, but that does it for us here on the draft show for Tommy Yarish and for Nick Harris. I'm Kyle Yeoman saying so long. We'll see you back at the Star in Frisco next Tuesday with more of the draft show presented by Miller Light. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys.com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Running a business is hard enough. Don't make it harder. With a dozen apps that don't talk to each other. One for sales, another for inventory, a separate one for accounting. That's software overload. Odoo is the all in one platform that replaces them all. CRM, accounting, inventory, e Commerce, hr. Fully integrated, easy to use and built to grow. With your business, Thousands have already made the switch. Why not you try Odoo for free@odoo.com that's odoo.com.
