Producer Griff
Just don't call it a podcast. The Ebro Laura Rosenberg show.
Peter Rosenberg
No, no, no. Say it again.
Laura Rosenberg
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah. There you go.
Laura Rosenberg
Good morning.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, I thought she was on her mic. She's on Ebro's mic. It doesn't matter. Either way, you're. Hi.
Laura Rosenberg
Hi. Happy Friday.
Peter Rosenberg
Hi.
Laura Rosenberg
Finally. I know. That's how we all feel. Oh, finally. End of the week.
Peter Rosenberg
No, I need this. I need this. I got big memorials this weekend. I got to. We are going up today, so we have a cousin's wedding. My cousin's wedding. My cousin Liz is getting married on Sunday in Boston. That's on my dad's side. But since we're gonna be in Boston, which is where my mom's. My cousins on my mom's side are all at Saturday. We're doing a big thing with the fam up there, like a barbecue.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, that's nice.
Peter Rosenberg
So Maya's gonna get to be with a bunch of cousins and stuff, which should be fun. And meet my uncle for the first time, she hasn't met my uncle yet.
Laura Rosenberg
That's fire.
Peter Rosenberg
I kind of can't believe she hasn't met him. But he's had. He's had surgeries and some stuff going on the last year, so. And then Sunday's the wedding. But tonight, on our way, we're actually stopping on the trip in Newport, Rhode Island. Have you been a Newport?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Supposed to be fabulous.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
People love Newport. It's supposed to be gorge.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
You a fan?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, Producer Griff is a fan.
Peter Rosenberg
I. I had a hunch, if anyone knew. Be Griff. What's it like, Griff? It was where we did our baby moon, actually. You did your baby moon there.
Louie
We've never been to Rhode Island.
Laura Rosenberg
Nice.
Producer Griff
That was your.
Louie
One of the states we've never been to.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, God. Okay, so you're like, let's hit Rhode Island. So we're doing it. I gotta do my show. Natalie and the baby are gonna attempt to go out. But I realized, Lauren, Maya's now of the age where I have to find a space to do my show, because if it doesn't work, Natalie's like, wait, so I'm gonna go out with the baby for four hours? Like, what am I. What if she doesn't want to be out for four hours?
Laura Rosenberg
I know.
Peter Rosenberg
So I was like, damn. I guess you're right, because we can't just be in a room with her. Me doing my show now.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So I called the hotel and was like, do you guys have, like, a little office I can use? Like, they're literally putting me in their little hotel office.
Laura Rosenberg
The hat's actually pretty nice.
Peter Rosenberg
And they're letting me use their space.
Laura Rosenberg
Right, right.
Peter Rosenberg
So I can do my show and Natalie can attempt to go out with. With the baby.
Laura Rosenberg
That's what's hard, man. Because sometimes, like, yeah, babies could be cool for, like, two hours and then be like, all right.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, enough is enough. And, well, she. And now I'm just getting used to that age now where, like, now I'm starting to understand the no break of it when she's awake, like, it's on until she sleeps again.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
You know, and then you have to decide how much you want to cave and, like, have her watch Ms. Rachel or. That's why. See, now I understand why people go out with their kids so much. When Maya was little, we really didn't leave that much. It was wintertime, and we were new to it and didn't know what to do. And also, frankly, she was easy at Home. Because she was a little blob. Now that she's off and running, when you put her in that stroller and go, for the most part, she's entertained.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Like rolling down the street and just kind of, like, taking things in.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Did that work? That. Did it work that way with Kenza for you?
Laura Rosenberg
Totally. Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
So even when she was annoying and in the running, I want to do everything. Once you put her in the stroller, we're like, hey, we're going out on an adventure. She settled in.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. She was cool. But eventually she was like, all right, man, get me out of here. She would tell me, like, now I'm ready. Get out.
Peter Rosenberg
I gotta get out and go.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So we take her to the park now. We took her to the park last week and we set her down in the park. Laura. Yo. All she does is sprint. She doesn't even want to do other stuff.
Laura Rosenberg
Do you remember when I told you stretch and get in shape because you're gonna be running around a little one? It's so true.
Peter Rosenberg
No, you're off and running. She's. And it's annoying because I have to be helicopter dad, but I am right now, so I'm running after because I don't know these kids. Of course, f. These kill kids. As a wise woman once said. A wise child.
Louie
Take her to the zoo, Rosenberg.
Laura Rosenberg
That's what you're supposed to do.
Peter Rosenberg
The.
Louie
The zoo out there is really dope.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, in Rhode Island? In Rhode island, yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, cool. That's something to do.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, how close is Providence to Newport? You can drive up there 35 minutes. Okay.
Caller/Listener
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay. Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Also, big shout out to my friends over at Roots of Fight. They sent me the new. The new rock stuff. Oh, let's be honest. Griff really should be the model for Roots of Fight. Your man wears a Roots of Fight T shirt three days a week. Wife and sister in law. That's all they buy me for Christmas and stuff, everyone. So, hey, Roots of Fight. We need a pack for Grif. Grif needs the dad Bod special.
Laura Rosenberg
Let's do it.
Peter Rosenberg
Send through a box, but yeah, this is the new rock joint. That's pretty fire. So shout to Roots of Fight. Laura, are you ready to get to.
Laura Rosenberg
I am.
Peter Rosenberg
Doesn't this feel good on Friday, folks? It's a rare condition this day and age to read any good news on the newspaper. Aren't you guys going away soon?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Of the grand. Well, why do you. Why do you have to take a secret like it was load?
Laura Rosenberg
No, because I had to think about it for a second.
Peter Rosenberg
When do you guys leave?
Laura Rosenberg
So I have to go to Puerto Rico.
Peter Rosenberg
You have to go to Puerto Rico?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, for Ricardo's birthday. The big 40th.
Peter Rosenberg
What? There's a 40th in Puerto Rico?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, yes, yes. It was kind of like last minute plan because he was going to be out there working and I was like, just stay and we'll go meet you over there and we'll celebrate over there.
Peter Rosenberg
Wow. So when's that?
Laura Rosenberg
The first week of June.
Peter Rosenberg
So first week of June, you're going
Laura Rosenberg
to Puerto Rico for the weekend? For the weekend, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then at the end of the month it's my. My girlfriend Kat is getting married in Paris, so.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, she fancy.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. So me and Ricardo are doing a solo trip while my mom and my sister hold down Kenza.
Peter Rosenberg
So wait, oh, Kenza's not going to Paris?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
You guys are going to Paris?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. So it's a wedding. They're like, no kids. We're like, understand?
Peter Rosenberg
And you're going for how long?
Laura Rosenberg
Three days? Yeah, yeah, like three days.
Peter Rosenberg
Nice.
Laura Rosenberg
That's pretty fun. So we're doing that. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.
Peter Rosenberg
A little pair. Bill. Gay. Paris.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm Franced out after last year.
Laura Rosenberg
I know I did.
Peter Rosenberg
We went. We went hard body friend. And actually we really are gonna have to because we're going to Italy a week from today.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh my God.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, we go to Italy a week from today, bro.
Laura Rosenberg
Italy is so fire.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm a little scared.
Laura Rosenberg
I fell in love with it. I fell in love with it. Me and Ricardo were like, why didn't we do this sooner?
Peter Rosenberg
No, it's the best. Don't get me wrong. And you know, a lot of times I have places I've been, but I'm excited to go there with Natalie because we've done it in our previous lives, but like now we want to do it together. Super excited. You know, the baby traveling at this age scares me because again, last time we traveled last summer, she was a blob.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
She's no longer blobsted. No, no, she's. I'm gonna be that dad walking up and down the plane and she goes out to people, she goes, hi, hi.
Laura Rosenberg
Hi.
Peter Rosenberg
Mm. Hi.
Laura Rosenberg
I told you just have to take a carry on full of new toys, just new things and you open one as soon as she. I used to take one toy out and let Kenza play with it.
Peter Rosenberg
I want everyone, I want all of the people who come for Rosenberg to Tell me that I'm spo. I want you to hear Laura's plan.
Laura Rosenberg
No, listen to me.
Peter Rosenberg
Listen to this spoiling. Listen to this plan.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, listen, when you're going to Japan, that's a long ass flight, so you better be ready. And I, you know, I care about people that are sitting around me, you know, So I on my carry on, I would pack like small little toys, you know, like little, little tchotchkes that, that are for kids. So I would let her play with me.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, fresh out the pack.
Laura Rosenberg
Each one is like five bucks, bro. You know, like little chippy ones. And I would give it to her and she would play with it for like an hour she was in. Or maybe an hour and a half. And when she, you know, when they're finally done with how they just chuck it.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, that's, that's. She's in her Diddy era, right? This ain't so rock.
Laura Rosenberg
So then I would just chill with her until she really, you know, I would, I would wait, play with her, entertain until she started getting like. Then I'll take out another one.
Peter Rosenberg
Now that's what I would do. Our original flight is Friday night at like 8:00'. Clock. Mm. So my hope is that like an like as the flight's taking off, she kind of starts to go down.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
She'll fall asleep and maybe we'll luck out. We're getting the thing we ordered, the piece that connects the duna to the yo yo.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And then we're going to set her up in the duna seat, I guess. Is that what it was for me?
Laura Rosenberg
I guess, I guess I didn't do that.
Peter Rosenberg
But I guess we'll put her on the duna seat on the plane. But the duna seat's kind of small. Like it's not that comfy.
Laura Rosenberg
Listen, when you need to take her out, you'll take her out.
Peter Rosenberg
We have a whole row.
Laura Rosenberg
We have a row.
Peter Rosenberg
So we'll do the best we. I'm just, sorry, I don't mean to be a bitch, but I'm just a little, I'm just a little nervous. Bitch about the actual like no flight.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't think about it like that. You're just gonna go, you're gonna go. You're gonna face anything that comes your way.
Peter Rosenberg
And if I have to, that's it.
Laura Rosenberg
Yep, yep. We do the dance to entertain her.
Peter Rosenberg
Have us doing the dance, baby.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
It's crazy. I wish we could travel like business class. You know how rich you have to be take business class overseas with your family.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. It's insane.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, everyone's dropping five grand each.
Laura Rosenberg
Five grand? Sometimes it's like eight.
Peter Rosenberg
It can be more, but, I mean, I saw some that were like five.
Laura Rosenberg
That's crazy.
Peter Rosenberg
So you spend 30 grand on flights. Absolutely. To sit in a bigger seat. Can't do it. So I figured if we get the whole row. And here's the beauty of it. We have up until two years old. We got to take advantage of. Of that. It's children under two that literally the board first, right? Is it up to three or two?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, yes, yes. I think it's under two. Under two.
Peter Rosenberg
Damn. Over two. They're already out with you, right?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
They're done with you. Now you just have a kid.
Laura Rosenberg
Because one time. I try to. I try to. I carried Kenza, and the guy was like, she doesn't look like she's 2. I was like, bro, come on. Like, let me go. She's sleeping. It's. She's heavy. Like, let me rock.
Peter Rosenberg
She's close to two, bro.
Laura Rosenberg
And I think she was three at the time. He was, yo, some people just take their jobs way too serious. I was like, really? You're gonna make me stand out here
Peter Rosenberg
because she's three, not two? Come on, fam.
Laura Rosenberg
Ye. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So as I said to you guys the other day, Maya is a little bit in her Diddy era, meaning you give her something and she doesn't like it. She's like, nah, nah, nah. If it ain't Grey Goose, we don't drink it. I need. Don't give me no. Like, don't give me no bottom shelf bull ish. What I want. I want this tortilla stale. So. But she also has been really fun. And, like, when you. When you pay attention, she really is a great kid in that, like, if you give her attention and you're actually focused, she's just down to hang and do whatever.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So I started teaching her some very important skills. Basketball. Tell me she's not ready to DJ any pizza. She's taking bookings in Europe and Asia next summer. Look, she's doing what every DJ these days does. Nothing, just touching the buttons. Hold on. Let me go over here. DJ Pacifier.
Laura Rosenberg
She's so cute.
Peter Rosenberg
So this was a little thing that Uncle Dip gave her, the little DJ thing.
Laura Rosenberg
That's fire. I love this.
Peter Rosenberg
She turns the little wheel. She pushes the little button. That was. That was the. The pretend lesson. Then we got. Oh, nice and easy.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Hands light. She loves it. Just getting her comfortable. Touching. See, you can touch the record. Hit that. You got to hit the kick.
Laura Rosenberg
No, I love this.
Peter Rosenberg
She. By the way, I will tell you, of everything so far, the two things she's most into right now in the world are balls. Ao and the turntables playing.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Like, she. She. She will focus on a ball. She loves basketball. Little ball. She'll take a ball and just carry it around with her all day long. She loves it. And the second the turntables go on, she's very focused on watching the records play. And, like, can she be involved in it?
Laura Rosenberg
Anyway, so I love this. This is so fire.
Peter Rosenberg
It's pretty great. I'm not gonna lie.
Laura Rosenberg
Aw, baby. Maya. Well, we have a new addition to our family. Whoa. Hold on. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Finally got a dog.
Kenza
This is my pet that my dad brought me, and he's. And she's a chattah tortoise. And also her name is Sushi. She always gets scared, and I get scared of her because she always reaches her legs up, and then he goes in a pointy part. And I don't realize that, but she's still going. She goes so fast. And she's walking right now.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay. Hi. So, Sushi. That's our new friend. Hi, Sushi.
Kenza
She's scared.
Laura Rosenberg
She's cute. She's scared.
Producer Griff
Come on,
Peter Rosenberg
Sushi.
Laura Rosenberg
Kenza has been asking for a dog, and I've been asking for a dog. But, you know, obviously, me and Ricardo said, hey, we both have to agree on that.
Peter Rosenberg
And you're not there yet.
Laura Rosenberg
We're not there yet. So he was like, yeah, like, what about a turtle? And she was like, a turtle? Yes. I want a turtle.
Peter Rosenberg
Wow.
Laura Rosenberg
And then he was stuck, by the way.
Peter Rosenberg
By the way, Ken's is just botching your negotiations, Laura. You're in the middle, trying to fight for a dog, and he offers a turtle. This is like the Republicans and the Democrats.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And he comes out and says, well, we're not really willing to give you childcare. How about we give you funding for some basketball courts? She was like, oh, I love basketball.
Producer Griff
Done.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
So. So now. Now you're out on the dog. For now.
Laura Rosenberg
For now.
Peter Rosenberg
But Sushi is in.
Laura Rosenberg
Sushi.
Peter Rosenberg
What's the lifespan of a little tortoise?
Laura Rosenberg
Like, 100 years, basically. I can hand. We're gonna pass that. Pass Sushi on to her kids and maybe her grandkids.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, no, no, that's not. For small ones like that.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. They. They live, like, 100 years, bro. If you take care of them, obviously, she's going to grow or he. We don't know. She's too young. We don't know if he's a he or she yet.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, wait. How big is sushi going to get?
Laura Rosenberg
It just depends on the enclosure. Like if she was in a huge, like enclosure, she will grow huge. But she, she. We keep her in a semi small one. She'll stay like that and then we got to get a bigger one. Yep.
Peter Rosenberg
But then what about when you get the bigger one? How much will she grow?
Laura Rosenberg
She'll grow more.
Peter Rosenberg
But. But will she just keep growing and keep growing?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, and eventually I'm gonna have to give her back to the pet shop. Wait, no, not the pet shop. The zoo is a good idea. Maybe I'll do the zoo.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, this is gonna be a full size tortoise? Like one of those giant tortoises?
Laura Rosenberg
Listen, the guy says that it all depends on the enclosure. If she keeps. If we keep her or he or she is in a small environment, she could stay.
Peter Rosenberg
What's she called?
Laura Rosenberg
It's tortoise. I don't know what kind. I forgot.
Peter Rosenberg
What?
Producer Griff
Sushi. The tortoise.
Peter Rosenberg
I know it's sushi. The tortoise. I thought there was a kind of tortoise sushi.
Laura Rosenberg
It is a kind of tortoise. I just forgot. Sushi is approximately five months old. That's why she's so little. Or he's so little.
Peter Rosenberg
Hey, Claude, my friend got a little tortoise, five months old. It's very tiny. How big will it eventually grow and how long will it live?
Laura Rosenberg
Let's see, let's see, let's see. This was not my idea. I just want to let you know.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's see, what the.
Laura Rosenberg
What does Claude say?
Peter Rosenberg
Well, it says that depends a lot on the species. Tortoises are very enormously in size and lifespan. Do you know what kind it is? I'm gonna tell you some. Okay. Will you remember if I tell you Laura?
Laura Rosenberg
Mm?
Peter Rosenberg
Will you.
Laura Rosenberg
Wait, what'd you say?
Peter Rosenberg
Will you tell me if I. If I. Will you remember if I tell you the kind?
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Russian?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Herman's?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Salcata. Greek?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Red footed? No, none of those.
Laura Rosenberg
Maybe it's salcata. Maybe it's that.
Peter Rosenberg
That's African. It says.
Laura Rosenberg
So I'll get back to you on what kind of tortoise she is.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm saying not sure. I chose not sure. No worries. Here's a quick overview for the most common species. One of those popular pet tortoises stays quite small, reaching about 6 to 10 inches. Lifespan 40 to 60 years.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
Sometimes longer. Herman's tortoise, another very common pet species. Grows to about 7 to 11 inches. Lifespan 50 to 100 years. They can genuinely outlive their owners. Looks like those get pretty big. Sulcata tortoise. A big surprise for unprepared owners. These grow to 24 to 30 inches and can weigh 80 to 100 pounds. Lifespan 70 to 100 plus years. Tiny babies are often sold cheaply, but they become massive animals. Do you think that's what you have?
Laura Rosenberg
He. The way the guy told described it, it was like, this one's probably going to. She's like. He did tell me. She can't. She or he can get huge, but it just depends on the enclosure. So I don't know. Listen, Sushi's here. Talk to me. In a year, I might be making a trip to the Bronx Zoo and be like, here, this is for you. Have a new life. So I don't know. This was Ricardo's idea. Rosenberg. I'm still on Team Dom.
Peter Rosenberg
I've been given all kinds of looks to play to camera. And I'm watching Baskin. He's staring at all the screens, so I know he can see that I'm making, like, faces that I'm trying to make fun of Laura with my face. And he just continues to just show Laura my face. Was saying a lot for the people viewing at home, which is basically what I was trying to say was potentially, congratulations.
Laura Rosenberg
It could be. It could be.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, my God.
Laura Rosenberg
So we'll see. Rosenberg. But for right now, Sushi's in the building.
Peter Rosenberg
Shouts to Sushi. Shouts to Sushi. That's tough to say.
Laura Rosenberg
Shouts to Sushi. There you go.
Peter Rosenberg
Wow. What a cute little turtle. For now. Until it's a gigantic. My friend Alexa Bliss got a pig. She got a tiny pig. That pig became a gigantic pig.
Laura Rosenberg
I saw, remember? I saw. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Larry became Larry. Steve became a gigantic pig before he sadly passed. Beautiful, beautiful animal.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, well, listen, we have a Freedom Friday video from Calvin.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, you want to see it?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, I get. When we get a video. No videos. Why are y' all shy? Send us videos.
Peter Rosenberg
Laura wants you to send news. It's a video of him watching our show.
Boxer Guest
Y' all full of.
Peter Rosenberg
I sent you a video.
Producer Griff
I don't know if anybody's gonna read you.
Sweetie
Why?
Peter Rosenberg
Your people ain't playing it.
Laura Rosenberg
We're playing it now.
Peter Rosenberg
Calvin talking about no videos. I seen it. Is it because I'm not from New York? That was the whole video. So was There another video? There's no other video.
Laura Rosenberg
Producer Griff says he has no other video. So that was your video. All right, but thank you. I appreciate it, guys. Don't be scared. Send in some videos. I want to see ya. We only have like one. All right, well, let me get to some emails. Okay? So thank you for everyone who always sends us some cool emails. This one is from Darren. Hi guys. To all of you. I'm a huge fan from Scotland. Been listening to you all for over 10 years. I have to say, I was skeptical when I first heard the new show, but now I see the plans and the visions. I love it.
Peter Rosenberg
Don't ever doubt.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm currently away working in the UK for six weeks. 12 hour shifts and every. Oh, wait, did we do this already? Every day. Okay, 12 hour shifts every day. Any words of enthusiasm to keep me going? Like I said, I love the new show, but I do miss Shawnee and Cass. Have you guys tried getting them on the new show or just. Just a shadow? Will that not be allowed? See, yes, we do want them on the show, but I personally think that something will happen to them at their other jobs. I think there'll be some kind of retaliation. I don't know that for a fact, but I am too scared. I do not. I do not want Shawnee to lose his job. I don't want Cass to lose his job. So I. That. That's how I feel.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, what about words of enthusiasm, Laura? Encouragement? 12 hour shifts.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, man. At least you got a job, fam. People out here don't got a job.
Boxer Guest
Damn.
Peter Rosenberg
That's all she hits you with? She. All she hit you with was. Was guilt. Be happy you got a job.
Laura Rosenberg
No, but. And thank you for supporting us and listening to our show. Made me, you know. Are you a Patreon subscriber? Subscribe for an extra show so you can have more entertainment while you work those 12 hour shifts. But thank you. Darren. What do you think? You think something will happen to Cass or Shawnee if they pop in? Be honest, knowing the management over there,
Peter Rosenberg
I think it would. I would be. I think it's a mindful situation right now. I. I'd be a little worried.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. That's the only reason we haven't had the mangai. Seriously?
Peter Rosenberg
Damn. What's up with the apple?
Laura Rosenberg
It's not that we don't want to. It's that I'm just, you know.
Peter Rosenberg
Here we go. I got this for you, buddy.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm just nervous. Tomorrow morning is knocking. Stock your fridge now. How about A creamy mocha Frappuccino drink. Or a sweet vanilla smooth caramel maybe. Or a white chocolate mocha. Whichever you choose, delicious coffee awaits. Find Starbucks Frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your groceries.

Shouts to Westside Gun too. All right, let's see. Let's keep things moving. Oh, I. I just thought of something that I forgot when you. Oh, do we. Do we really get into. I don't think. I think all week we were good about this. What? I mean, why would Hot 97 Social put up a. A happy birthday academics.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, what do you think?
Peter Rosenberg
Can you show that? You have that over there?
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, God. Rosenberg. Why are we doing this?
Peter Rosenberg
The hell is this?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't understand. What do you mean? Why? The person who runs their social, Rambizi, is a huge fan. Why wouldn't he? This doesn't surprise me.
Peter Rosenberg
When you say Rambizi, is that like your personal nickname? No, that, like, people call.
Laura Rosenberg
Because that's his IG handle.
Peter Rosenberg
That's the Rambizi?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, that's his IG handle.
Peter Rosenberg
So let me hit him with something.
Laura Rosenberg
But that's why it doesn't surprise me. He's obsessed with him. Like, that's.
Louie
You played yourself.
Peter Rosenberg
So. Because Rambeasy as you put it, loves academics. They would post a happy birthday when academics went at Mero.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And they had a back and forth in which he trashed the morning show, trashed the station. They posted a happy birthday to that person.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And that's supposed to be your friend. In theory, your social media department.
Laura Rosenberg
Mm.
Peter Rosenberg
Is supposed to be a friend of the station. First of all, that is so disrespectful. Mero should have smacked fire out of someone. Actually, no, he shouldn't. But you get the idea. He should want to smack fire to someone for them doing that. That's such crazy disrespect. And here's why I'm offended. This Rambizi character, who I heard itched up when Ebro saw him right to his face. He was running it when we left, of course. Yo, this social media account, and I know some of y' all might not get this because you weren't, like, morning show listeners. So you don't sort of understand the relationship between us as the morning show talent and our, like, people. Yo, when Maya was born, they didn't put up a congratulations, Rosenberg, on the birth of his daughter.
Laura Rosenberg
Of course not.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, they. And by the way, the crazy thing is, considering all they want is engagement. The funniest thing was, like, I remember Ebro put it up himself. Ebro made his own post. Like, you know, because Ebro's gonna get that engagement and want to show us love, of course. But Ebro put up the engagement post. It got, like, mad engagement. It was like, so they don't even understand. I point that to say they didn't even understand that our audience had been invested in us for so long. And they've been listening to me. Yo, we had people at some of you still here in the El army, but there were people listening to us on radio. And I know some of you going, yes, that's me. They had been with me through my first engagement in marriage, through divorce, through all this stuff. They went on the whole journey. So when Maya was born, yo, I was getting the sweetest messages from people feeling like they really gained a niece. And, like, they just. Our station didn't even know that it happened. And then academics has a birthday.
Laura Rosenberg
Yep.
Peter Rosenberg
He not only does he not work there, he hates your morning show. Or do they want to make him the morning show one day? Is that the secret plan?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know.
Peter Rosenberg
With the full circle moment. That was nasty word. That. That pissed me off on behalf of Merrill and Kaz. That was not cool. All right. Let's, let's read another message, shall we? Ah, perfect. A message going at Ebro. My favorite.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh,
Peter Rosenberg
Brandon says Ebro, stop cutting off Laura and pee. The question is Ebro ever gonna hear this if we read it now? Well, I don't know, but he'd skip it if he was here. So here we go.
Cypher Sounds
Year.
Peter Rosenberg
Good morning. Big fat here. Love you guys. Been rocking since Uzi vert. I love the new show even more, buddy. Bro, my guy, I get you're the old man, but can you please stop cutting Laura and Rosenberg off and let them finish their point more? So Rosenberg, it's almost like as soon as he's about to make a point here you come over talking, stopping a mid sentence to overrule what he's saying with your opinion. Just let him finish, bro. It's a bad listen when it happens. And Rosenberg do better on standing up saying, can I finish or something, bro? All love. Keep it up, keep it going. Wish much success upon your lives and endeavors. Big fat. Sincerely, Rook psa. Rosenberg, I listen to a lot of shows and you are by far the funniest guy in the business. Keep doing you, bro. Bum Jason Lee and his opinions. Lol. Laura, I love you and condolences. Keep bringing the rundown and the low down.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, thanks Brandon.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, listen, we are, I'll say this, we are both. Ebro and I are both guilty of cutting Laura off. I've been, I've been working immensely at it. I don't think I'm nearly as bad as Ebro, but for some reason I think our chat punishes me like twice as bad as they ever punish Ebro. And I will say this, and Ebro's admitting it, has admitted he has a tough time letting people finish his sentence now admitting it as the first step. Changing the behavior would be the second step. I always feel this pressure. I don't know if you feel this way and maybe you do it, maybe you feel it towards me also, but I feel it towards Ebro. When I'm in the middle of cooking and I feel like I'm about to get to a point I can feel, I can feel him wanting to get in. And it ends up making me feel very rushed in the point that I'm trying to make.
Laura Rosenberg
I can see that I don't understand,
Peter Rosenberg
but I really, I don't quite understand it.
Laura Rosenberg
And for me it's like playing double Dutch. Just trying to get in, just trying to get in, just trying to get in when you guys are on fire.
Peter Rosenberg
Cause then I'm Then cutting him. I'm jumping in, he's jumping back in. And then. But I'll tell you, you have to fight even harder, too. That's on you, too. You do have. We're assholes, but you have to push sometimes.
Laura Rosenberg
It's just exhausting. Cause it's like there's many times where I'm, like, talking over you guys to get my point across, and you still don't shut up. At least you look at me.
Peter Rosenberg
I try.
Laura Rosenberg
And you realize what's happening, and then you pull back.
Peter Rosenberg
That's the little part that people don't see, is that when it happens, Ebro will start talking over Laura. I will ignore looking at him because once I look at him, it's only a room of three people.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So once I go to him, now him and I are talking, and you're pushed out again. So what I will do is try to ignore him and continue to stare at you as he's like, rah, rah, rah, rah, rah. Over you.
Laura Rosenberg
I will say, though, you have been doing a great job of just, like, having eye contact, trying to bring me. So I appreciate you trying. That's all I can ask for.
Peter Rosenberg
But I want you to try harder to push. Because the truth is, if you call us out at some point, you're like, hey, I'm talking.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, I promise you, Ebro will bitch up so fast if Laura just hits him with it. Hey, I'm talking still. He will be like. Whereas if I do it, it's different. The guy on guy thing, he's gonna run me over unless I go, Laura. I felt like. I felt like a little bit of an asshole. I'm not gonna lie. But I felt like a week ago in the Jason Lee thing, if I hadn't been like, ayo, bro, I need to finish. I felt bad doing that, but I also felt like if I didn't do it, Ebro was going to sit there and talk on my behalf as if I wasn't in the room. And I was like, I've already been bitched by this guy. I'm not going to now be bitched again by not representing myself to the person. So I know, I know he means well. And listen, it's part of, you know, Ebro, when his voice isn't here, it's missed because he's got so much to say every day. There are days Laura and I come in, I'm like, I don't know what the hell we're talking about today.
Laura Rosenberg
Right?
Peter Rosenberg
And Ebro's always got something, but sometimes you just have to fight back to get our words in.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. So appreciate you guys, though.
Peter Rosenberg
Appreciate you. What do you got there, Laura?
Laura Rosenberg
Okay, let's play a voice note.
Peter Rosenberg
Or you want an email?
Laura Rosenberg
Let's do a voice note.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, we'll mix it up here.
Caller/Listener
Here's a Freedom Friday ELR big fan trying to do this under 90 seconds. So Drake is anti black. He don't care about black people. He don't love black people. He over here trying to act like it's hilarious to make fun of black people. He's got this older man that looks like he came out of Annabelle himself with the afro and have all these unique, like, ways of trying to clown him by putting him in different scenarios. And that just makes me think of they're trying to poke a hole at, you know, people that are self actualized, foundational black Americans that care about, you know, the roots in the story. They kind of just want to wash that off and say, who cares? Like, that's what that's played out. Look, you don't fit in. And it just reminds me of that give me a hug little thing that he said in there. And I mean, I'm not even a fan of Drake, but that's how, you know, ubiquitous this guy's music and all that crap is. It's literally everywhere. You can't really escape it. Not that interested in the albums. Don't really care. I love the reactions because it's just so funny. There's so many funny sound bites. I think you guys do a great job. I'm a first generation American. My family's from Jamaica. So even hearing the patois and all that, I know people love to jump on it. And so it's par for the course. You know, you got Chet Hanks over there at Stagecoach now and he was Mr. Chatsuna and all that nonsense. So I'm not, you know, surprised by the code switching. Just wanted to holla at y'.
Peter Rosenberg
All.
Caller/Listener
100.
Peter Rosenberg
All right, listen, I agree. Well, let me not say I agree. That's your opinion. I hear you. I hear you. I do not understand. It's just weird. The Drake stuff with and again where he's sort of been on these race things and coming out or not coming out against people trying to associate with him who are clearly racist. I just don't quite understand.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't either. I don't.
Peter Rosenberg
The guy who came along, who I knew when he was coming up was definitely, like, hyper aware of the world. I'm like I just think that I've said this earlier and I'll say it again. And I know this to be true about some people. There are certain people who end up going maga or maga sympathetic because they feel that people on, quote, the other side, in other words, and I think this is mostly black Twitter, they feel like has been mean to them. So as a result, they feel so bullied by black Twitter that they're like, well, you know what? Then I think I like maga. And I know that what I'm saying may sound silly. I promise you that's happened. I promise. And I would say, by the way, it's incredibly weak. And I know what the first part of it feels like, the feeling bullied by black Twitter. I've definitely been there and know what it feels like. And you're like, oh, my God, can I get a break today? What I don't understand is how you being annoyed that quote, unquote, black Twitter has made crack jokes on you that it would push you to either okaying or aligning with racism and white supremacy as opposed to being like, well, these people on Twitter seem like a holes. I should find. I'm sure there are lots of other people on Twitter who aren't a holes. But no, for that to be the thing that would guide you to, like, socio and politically becoming okay with being anti black because you feel like jokes were cracked on you online, I don't know, man. It shows a real fundamental, like, there's a real fundamental problem.
Laura Rosenberg
I agree with you. Like, I just do not see a world where I'll be like, I'm not happy here. Let me go stand by these white supremacists because they might accept me, me.
Peter Rosenberg
And they will. And they will accept you because they want what you can bring.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. And then when they're done using you, if you're not standing in line, you know what I mean? Then you become, you know, the enemy well.
Peter Rosenberg
And by the way, you're already that one. Come on. Do you think they're not laughing at Nicki Minaj behind her back?
Laura Rosenberg
Come on.
Peter Rosenberg
You think she. You think when Nicki Minaj walks out of the room, they're not going, oh, my God, Becky, look at her butt. Come on, bro. That's every conversation, every MAGA party Nikki has been to so far. Someone has literally said in real life, oh, my God, Becky, look at her butt. It's so. That's. I just can't believe that, like, that they're ignoring that they're being willfully ignorant. It's really, really awful, man.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, let me see. We have an email from Jesse. Good morning, El Army. Good morning to all of you. I've been a big fan since Rosenberg and Scythe in the morning. Heavy on the YouTube watch and followed you guys for years. When I was working hard at FedEx in 2015-2019, I very heavily dependent on you guys for my morning drives. I even won a ticket for the weekend that I never picked up. This past Jason Lee interview. My question for the crew is what are some of your favorite crash out interviews that you guys have done? Jason Lee vs Rosenberg is up there now. My favorite of all time will be Ebro versus Elliot Wilson and b dot com EBER really opened the eyes to how radio and behind the scenes worked. I love you guys. Shout out to the crew. BTS Griff Baskeem. He spelled it B A S Q E M. Sorry if I spelled that wrong, but you got a lot of kids so that evens it out.
Producer Griff
What?
Peter Rosenberg
What? I don't understand how I'm having lots of kids manages to equal out your bad spelling.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I can't. Let me see. What are. What I forget sometimes. Louie, do you remember any Crash out interviews?
L
Well, most people say Kodak.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So overrated, by the way. That's like not even Joe. But now you want to talk Joe Budden. The walkout. That was big.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, the Joe Budden walkout. Yeah, that's because Marissa Mendez was there with us, remember?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, well, that was part of it. But we were, we were both. Because I was kind of defending Marissa to Joe.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And saying he'd been a shitty friend or whatever. And then he ended up just straight up walking out.
Laura Rosenberg
Right. That there's. That.
Peter Rosenberg
That was an intense one. The Kodak one's overrated because people made that like I. I hate that conversation. So stupid. No, the Ebro B dot. Yeah. Can you pull that? Can you just pull up you YouTube like without having to download the whole thing? If you type in Ebro B dot. One app. I think it was on one app.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, it was a one app.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, that crash out, how hard Ebro went at that moment.
Laura Rosenberg
I know.
Peter Rosenberg
And by the way, no one deserved it more than B dot. I'm sorry. You can love B dot or hate B dot. But one thing we can all agree on, he is the most. I'm going to say this, let me say this in a nice way, self assured person ever. When he gives his opinions, he is sure that he knows the inner workings of every situation. And he stepped. Go ahead, Louie. Oh, this is the video. So. So we had B Dot, this one. Rap radar was becoming a thing. And Elliott, of course, by the way, shouts to Elliott, father of new twins.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, wow.
Peter Rosenberg
Which is in. Laura just gets tired even hearing about it. She can't even fathom that this is a possibility. But congrats to Elliot and congrats to B Dot, who's now found his. Found. Finds himself on the Joe Budden show. And B Dot had talked a lot of ish about the radio and things of that nature and Paola. And so we had Elliot and Beat out up when they were kind of building rap radar, and that was becoming a big thing. And he had certainly said some questionable things. So here comes Ebro walking into Juanp to break things down. I'm watching Bascom press so many buttons.
Laura Rosenberg
I know.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm scared. I don't know.
Laura Rosenberg
Because at this time, it was just a conversation between you four, Elliot, B Dot, Saif, and yourself, Correct?
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
And then Ebro kind of just walked in because they were talking about him.
Peter Rosenberg
Know if I might have texted him? I don't remember how. Or maybe he was sitting in the other room in, like, Dominican Drew or T. Storm's room listening. I don't know. But this crash out is iconic.
Laura Rosenberg
I was there, but I was in the other room listening, watching through a window.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, you were there too?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I remember this.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, I didn't know this was in your days.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was there. That's why I remember when he busted into the room.
Producer Griff
People in radio are not rich. Who said that they were rich? So what check are you talking about? Are we gonna pretend that records don't have money behind them? Yes. Records at Hot 90 or any money? No, I'm not saying Ebro. I'm not saying no. I will say no. I'm gonna say this right now. So let's be specific. Why do you think records break out of the south the way they do? Because.
Peter Rosenberg
Why?
Producer Griff
This is different variables. One of the reasons that people have money financing them, I. E. No, no, no, no, no, no. Don't dance. No, don't dance. I'm not dancing. You're dancing. Why do you think? Why do you think? It's not a thing. This is the fact. Why do you think? This is the fact that people like Trinidad James have people behind them.
Sweetie
Who?
Producer Griff
What people? And when you say financing a record. What record? All gold. No, but what do you mean financing the record? Financing the record. Records have money behind them. He wrote. And what's that money for. Come on. For radio, for airtime. And so they buy. So you're saying DJs are accepting money from airtime? That's because that's illegal. That's what you said. But that's what you said. See, that's that bullshit. That's that bullshit. The bullshit is people want the only people who say shit like that. I'm gonna tell you, the only people say shit like that is people who ain't box. Ebro. This is what see me to tell me this. The. That say like that $50,000 gets you up here. It gets you a ad on rap radar. That's the. That's you. That's an app. It gets you a post up top. It gets you an article in a magazine. It gets all of that. So don't come up here trying to throw at when y' all sight is the main one taking dough. That's an ad. You take those. So people could buy commercials here, too. Yo, you mean yo, yo, yo. You mean for that yo, you're not gonna do an editorial? Yeah, we do. And we make it known.
Peter Rosenberg
Exactly.
Producer Griff
That's not a post. But it's not a post. Exactly. So you mean that tweet you sent out wasn't paid for.
Peter Rosenberg
Let's say this once and for all,
Producer Griff
that's what you're saying.
Peter Rosenberg
Very common thought.
Producer Griff
Yeah, by people. No, by people who are losers. This is New York, yo.
Cypher Sounds
List.
Producer Griff
Look, it could probably happen in a small market. You do realize. Let me tell y' all something. You do realize that Elliot Spitzer ran through this radio station with a fine tooth comb in the whole fucking city for payola. You know the fuck got in trouble. The program director at Power 105, he got fired. It happened at Power. They ran through everybody. My background, the program, everybody. And you know what we got? $0. I remember that. 0. 0. So fuck y' all niggas with that bullshit. Get your motherfucking game up and start. No, no, no.
Laura Rosenberg
Listen.
Producer Griff
Listen to me. Listen to me, Elliot. Hang on, hang on. Y' all gonna stop that. And make good records. Beat out. Listen, I'm gonna take you somewhere else. My. The only reason you got a voice is cause of this nigga's relationship. You ain't did in this game. That's up. Nah.
Peter Rosenberg
All right.
Producer Griff
It's all good.
Peter Rosenberg
It's all good.
Producer Griff
No, that's n. It's all good. We gonna have a drink after this. I still love E. WRO at the end of the day, it's the truth. It's the truth.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, what part's the truth?
Producer Griff
People don't say like that.
Peter Rosenberg
Careers.
Producer Griff
It's not you that is loose. And this is my life. That's my life. No, it's not. You just got started for 10 years. Whatever, man. Go back to smacking on air, man. Smack fest.
Peter Rosenberg
Smack fest was good, but. But vdot, first of all, you got in the ring with an animal.
Producer Griff
I love you, bro. We're gonna have a drink after this.
Peter Rosenberg
I would have told you I love you, bro. Well, I know you respect him.
Louie
No.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, he brought me in. But that is. But he called you on something because it is a. It is a common argument. That is not true. That was a hum. Pardon my language. Humdinger.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, my God.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, he stood up. Yo. Ebro really will hit you with the. He hits you with the F, y' all in the thing. And then B Dot goes, I love you, bro. We can have a drink. That was a crazy. I think they made good eventually.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, yes. That was a. That was a doozy.
Peter Rosenberg
That was a crash, of course. Siphon Khaled.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, siphon.
Peter Rosenberg
What? You were.
Laura Rosenberg
I was on the other side of
Peter Rosenberg
the glass in our awkward TV studio. Oh, man, I hated those days.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, that was so bad. Especially not for the audience, for you guys, for the chat, for everyone that's watching this. Cyph and Khalid go back.
Peter Rosenberg
Way back.
Laura Rosenberg
Way back. Like, they.
Peter Rosenberg
No, they were. They were close, close, close. Back in the day.
Laura Rosenberg
Right, right, right.
Peter Rosenberg
Many, many years ago. Here, pull it up. Hit that basket.
Laura Rosenberg
They have a special relationship.
Peter Rosenberg
They had a special, Like. Yeah. I mean, talking about staying in each other's houses, really running around. And then Khaled. This is. This is now a year or two into Khaled being hot now. Not as hot as he was gonna get. He would get even hotter after this.
Laura Rosenberg
I think this is pre Snapchat.
Peter Rosenberg
This is pre Snapchat. But he's already hot. And this actually added, I think, to the hotness. Let's see. Go ahead. Look at this group.
Producer Griff
This is 10 minutes and still don't know what's the problem.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay.
Producer Griff
I don't understand what's. What's.
Louie
What I'm saying is that I'm not treated like an old friend. Treat like a new friend. Well, I'm saying I was down from day one. And along the years, Khaled has not responded to me or been around me or done anything. I don't want to say anything for me, because I don't want anything. If you don't want to do something for Me, that's fine. I just feel upset that one of the, the one of the few real friends that I have in the music industry who I felt where you were, doesn't treat me like a friend. You know what I'm saying? If Jay Z don't do nothing, fine. If, if, if, if, if two chains don't do nothing, fine. Which two chains has done stuff for me. But if Talib Kweli don't do something, I feel a certain type of way. If DJ Khaled don't do something, I feel a type of way. Those are my friends that I started with, with. Well, like the first time I gave up my radio show for you to be on, the first time you were ever on Hot 97.
Producer Griff
And I know I was upset about that too. I remember that day. I was like, what the. That's love.
Louie
I'm not trying to bring it.
Producer Griff
I'm not, I don't like, I'm not
Louie
trying to throw nothing in no one's face. I'm just saying acknowledge the fact that you used to call me every week and now it's none.
Cypher Sounds
Well, I want to hear, to help you today. What I'm going to do for you is first of all, you're my brother. You're a great guy.
Louie
I'm looking for that email.
Cypher Sounds
You have problems and I have to be on because you're my friend and I want you to get help.
Louie
No, listen, because I'm gonna keep it
Cypher Sounds
real, make sure the cameras are still rolling. I would have major.
Louie
No, I don't, man.
Peter Rosenberg
Let me tell you something.
Cypher Sounds
You're my friend.
Louie
Nobody in the world say I'm a liar.
Cypher Sounds
Hey, listen, let me tell you something. You're a liar. And what I'm trying to tell you is. Listen, what I'm gonna do is
Producer Griff
won't even admit any.
Peter Rosenberg
No, because he won't admit any wrong.
Producer Griff
He's gotta take some wrong. This is what, this is what he gonna do. Khaled, just give him a fact. The two that let him know why he's still your brother.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay, first, he acts like you.
Cypher Sounds
First of all, Cyber's a great person. It's my brother and he's my friend. But he's lying. No, listen, it's the truth. And the good thing is that you know what's so good about
Louie
friends.
Cypher Sounds
And he knows another good friend of his is J1's that's his other good friend that's rocked with him for years. So for some reason the communication is not there. He has J ones to get to Me. First of all, I've never got a text from Cypher Sounds in my life
Peter Rosenberg
in a long time.
Cypher Sounds
In the last 10 years, probably in
Peter Rosenberg
the last seven, text messaging came out.
Producer Griff
Can I ask you a question?
Cypher Sounds
Because I tell you, Text cipher. Before I was in Harlem, tuned into a show. I've texted before, never got a reply back.
Laura Rosenberg
So, yeah, there's been some tense moments.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, Spicy.
Laura Rosenberg
It's been so tense.
Peter Rosenberg
I just loved how serious Scythe was and that Cal goes, you know, after all that. First of all, I just want to say you're a liar. You have major problems. Underrated. Funny, bro.
Laura Rosenberg
He said, I've never received a text message from you in my life.
Peter Rosenberg
Yo, we were really around to see.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, there was some. Some crazy ones. But, yeah, that was one that was special. Those two.
Peter Rosenberg
Someone brought up Azalea Banks crying, but that's different. That's like more sad.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. That wasn't really a crash.
Peter Rosenberg
Iggy Azalea, Cyphers. I mean, Ebro just said reckless stuff to her.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. That got weird.
Peter Rosenberg
A little weird.
Laura Rosenberg
What else? I don't. Anything, I think.
Peter Rosenberg
Have I had any big, like, fights that he won?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, Griff loves to bring up Bad Boy Trainer. Who is the trainer who just. We didn't know what was going on.
Laura Rosenberg
What are the most awkward.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't know how that. But again, that's because here's the dynamic that exists previously into this day. Ebro will just say yes to stuff.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And then when the day comes, he'll either go, why are we doing this? Or I don't want to do this, or I can't do this, or he'll just do it.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
My. I am. I'm seen as the lazy one. Because who. When the name comes up and it's a question, I'm like, I don't want to do it. No, let's just not do it. And Rosenberg doesn't want to do anything. And then the result is you get things like Bad Boy Trainer, which is. I don't know what that was about. I don't understand what exactly what it meant, but we ended up in a situation. And that was that time when the way the studio was set up. You want to talk about all the different times I've been bitter about things at Hot 97, when that setup in that small studio was such that Ebro had his own throne, while Laura and I got jammed into a corner to sit awkwardly next to whoever the guest was. God forbid, it was two people. They'd squeeze four people along. One side of the board. So you'd have Ebro solo shot and then cut to the other shot with all of us just mashed together.
Laura Rosenberg
No, it was so bad.
Peter Rosenberg
And then if the interview was bad, of course now you're just stuck having a really awkward conversation.
Laura Rosenberg
There's an interview somewhere, I think it was with Future. And there were so many people in that interview that I was next to Ebro. I swear to you, I felt like I was a fucking parrot. Like, right here on his shoulder.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, where were you? Which room?
Laura Rosenberg
In that studio? Because there was no room, so I had to, like, push myself. It was bad.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, who else was in it?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't remember. I don't remember. I just remember that moment. We were. We used to. We laughed about it afterwards. We were like, yo, this was so awkward.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, More. More of your emails. Yeah, let's see. Actually here. Let's hear. We'll hear a voice note.
M
Hey, ELR show. Just wanted to hop on and give you guys, you know, your flowers on the conversation that you had with Hasan Piker. I thought it was really great and mesmerizing. I did want to get Laura's opinions and takes on it because I know she had a few friends who were a little, you know, not. Not too fond of Hassan Parker, which I totally understand sometimes. But I wanted to get Laura's thoughts and opinions on the conversation and on Hassan and, you know, just his politics. Also thought I'd recommend the YouTube channel you guys might enjoy. Has to do some, you know, they do some politics and some sports. It's called Search Party. So I would definitely give them a look. Anyways, love the show. And, oh, by the way, congrats, you, bro, on making the list on. On Complex. I do think Rosenberg should have given you a little bit more flowers instead of just hating on wackademics. But such is life.
Peter Rosenberg
Let me, my man, I'm gonna be totally transparent because I do validate me. I am not on the list. I didn't make 35. I still do a hip hop show. I just went to Sirius. How much time am I gonna spend giving props to someone who's nine on the list who I do a show with? And I didn't make 35. I'm gonna sit there and go, oh, I think this list of me.
Producer Griff
I think the list is a crock of shit.
Peter Rosenberg
What? Are you serious? I thought I was incredibly generous with how much we talked about that. FA cocked a list. Ebro is the boss of global music at fucking Apple.
Producer Griff
I don't Understand why he cared about the list.
Peter Rosenberg
Ebro's check every two weeks is a fucking list that none of those guys could see.
Producer Griff
Who cares? Hold on.
Peter Rosenberg
What I am doing right now is giving what you call real props. I didn't under his whole, I just can't believe I'm on the list.
Producer Griff
What?
Peter Rosenberg
Why would you not believe you're on the list?
Laura Rosenberg
He did not say, I can't believe I'm on this list.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm just happy to be in the conversation.
Laura Rosenberg
I've been doing this for so long. Long. I'm happy to be included.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, you're. You've been doing this for so long. That's why you should be included in the list. That's exactly why I think the list is bullish. So I thought we gave. I. I thought. Considering the whole thing is silly, I thought we gave it. It's. It's due time.
Laura Rosenberg
And as far as the Hassan Piker, I haven't had a chance to release it. It was so damn long, bro. It was so long. So I haven't watched the entire Damn.
Peter Rosenberg
Laura. It was long.
Laura Rosenberg
It's. You guys went in.
Peter Rosenberg
I mean, there was. It was.
Laura Rosenberg
He.
Peter Rosenberg
He can talk.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, he can talk.
Peter Rosenberg
It was really good. It was really good, but it was long.
Laura Rosenberg
And when I say friends there. These are people that I'm. Yeah, I'm friendly with that are in the. The social movement space and in politics and, you know, all of that. Just some people were just not happy with, you know, the way he talks about the black community and that he's very harsh when he says certain things. And that's really it. And some people just don't like him, which is okay. Everyone has an opinion. But I have to watch the interview so long. But I'll watch some of it.
Peter Rosenberg
I think you'll like it. I fundamentally think the issue of black, like, issues and Hasan Pikers. We live in an era where people believe the progressive conversation is to direct things through the lens specifically of what do you want to do for black people? There are certain liberals and progressives, they do not prioritize race stuff. They prioritize financial stuff, and then that relates to race stuff. But their focal point is class, not race. And they believe that basically by solving the class system, like you're kind of. You can solve the racism because the race issues through that. There's not a part of Hasan Piker to me that is. That seems racist, anti Semitic, any of those things. I just think it's the way he approaches stuff and he speaks super loose like he's just on TV being loose. So when someone says to him, hey, I feel X way about this black issue, and it's like, you need to suck my. I mean, that's like. That's gonna make people think. You really don't care.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't think that's what his intention is, but I also understand why people would be offended.
Laura Rosenberg
Right. And I feel like if you're getting this type of feedback, it's okay to just address it. You know what I mean?
Peter Rosenberg
But he did. I mean, he did. I think. I think he addressed it pretty well on our show. I wouldn't say completely, no, but I think he.
L
He explained himself pretty well.
Peter Rosenberg
He explained where it started through, like, the Nicki Minaj thing.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
I thought overall the Hasan piker conversation was really good. I thought it was a really good thing. Listen, I think he's solid. I like him. I do not think he's the future of everything, the way people are making him out to be. I was happy we could give him on the show. I'm happy he gave us the time, but I. He's really smart. He speaks really quickly. You know, he knows a lot. He does things like his pronunciation of everything is great. He does these certain things that really can allow you to think he knows everything about everything. Like, he's still in his early 30s. He doesn't know everything about everything, of course, but he really sounds like he does, and that's powerful. I think he's a valuable person to have around. I think that we started. There's sort of been this conversation on the progressive left that, like, is he it? There's not going to be an it. Not who's a podcaster. Our. It needs to be people who really have policy and can make change, and it needs to be a collection of people who do that, because, frankly, I don't want an IT person. I don't want a cult of personality like Donald Trump.
Laura Rosenberg
There's no, like, one savior.
Peter Rosenberg
No, that's. And then when you do, you know, that's when people think that that person's Godlike and they fall in love with him the way you fall in love with Trump. That's the only reason I keep pushing back on Ebro and Momdani. I think Mamdani seems great. I'm just not gonna do what people do on the right for their politicians and, like, well, I saw them posted on their page. Sounds awesome. Yeah, of course. Everything Mamdani posts on his page looks awesome. I just know I'm being honest with Myself, I haven't had enough time in the day to be watching every single thing that he's doing. So what I end up seeing is the stuff that he posts about.
Laura Rosenberg
Right, right.
Peter Rosenberg
And stuff that he posts about looks really great and seems like so far he's really doing a great job.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So I want to continue to support him and then see after, like, two years, how do we feel that the city's been doing? Ebro thinks I'm, like, a hater because, you know, listen, Ebro's willing to interview this man. He be outside Mamdani's office, like me with Ghostface and Sean Wigs in the streets of dc. I'm waiting for them to come up here and do a proper interview. I don't feel like going to wait outside City hall, which they've literally basically asked us to do. I'd rather sit down and have a proper interview. That being said, I still think he's doing a tremendous job. I'm just not fanning out.
Laura Rosenberg
You won't even go to City Hall.
Peter Rosenberg
I will, but, like, okay, if we're gonna be all the way transparent. They asked us to come to City Hall.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
I don't. First of all, when we first moved here, I was in conversation with people there who were like, he'll absolutely do your show. I said, probably going to be gone from hot soon. I really hope we can keep the relationship once he's mayor and we're gone from hot.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Peter Rosenberg
They were like, absolutely. He appreciates you guys. And for the record, I believe he does. I don't think this comes from him. I believe this comes from people around him who are booking. And then when we got here, we couldn't get ahold of him. He won the mayorship. We have not heard from him once. Okay, let's just be real. So the same thing we killed Eric Adams for?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Peter Rosenberg
Even though Mamdani's a thousand times the mayor he is, he's done the same thing. Completely ghosted us. Now we're not on the radio. I understand that part as well. The last major thing that happened in the election was our thing with Cuomo. That was literally the last major storyline before Mamdani was elected. The result was Mamdani got elected. The other result was.
Laura Rosenberg
And we got fired.
Peter Rosenberg
We got fired. And it didn't have nothing to do with that, is my guess. Was it the be all, end all? No, that is not the reason we got fired. However, was the Cuomo debacle part of why the end came? Yes, it was. So then to have people on his team not prioritize him seeing us now that we're doing this independent thing where we're still supporting him and talking about the issues, I think is quite weak. So months pass. I am hounding people at the Mom Donnie office, lots of different people about getting it done. Eventually they come back and they're like, perfect, we have time. 15 minutes at City Hall. Yo, my man is sitting down eating shawarma with Action Bronson and Queens. He is doing this one's YouTube page. He's on. He's going backstage to see Cardi B. He has time. Like, he is busy as hell and he's doing a great job. But clearly they are prioritizing the things that they think are important. And I'm saying they because I do not believe it's Zoron. I believe Zoron. I believe Zoron would be like, no, we need to go do their show. But someone in there has not prioritized that. So when they say, can you come up to city hall for 15 minutes? I think of it as, yeah, let's just roll up there and knock out some social content. Ebro wants to make it a whole full interview.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So we're like, we're going to rent equipment, we're going to do all the things. We set the whole thing up. Laura is dealing with all things shells at that time. So she's out for that weekend. We're kind of figuring out what's going to go on the night before. They go from 15 minutes at 1:45. And by the way, they'd already sent Griffin email. They wanted questions in advance. All of a sudden, now they want questions in advance from us. Now they want us to be there an hour early. I'm like, guys, I'm not getting there. 12:45 and waiting for an hour for a 15 minute interview. I'm sorry, call me pompous. He is the mayor of New York. I understand that, but we're all busy and I can't do that. But we're going to do it. All right, it's happening, it's happening, it's happening. At 9 o' clock at night, Griff comes back and goes, they want 2:45pm Now. So it's 15 minutes. It's at City hall. And now they can't do the original time. They can only do 2:45. Well, guess what? I'm on the air at 3:00'. Clock. I cannot do a 2:45 interview. So the night before the interview, they changed it and then we had an internal back and forth about whether Ebro should just go do it. I was vehemently against that. I'll be honest. Sorry. It's not Ebro in the morning. It is Ebro. Laura Rosenberg. If only Ebro can go. That's not really a show. If Ebro wants to go up there and throw it up on a social media page, cool. But we're not gonna pretend that it's an Ebro Laura Rosenberg show interview. So Ebro agreed. He's like, cool, let's wait and we'll do it when we do it. And now there's a conversation again about when it will be. I find this whole thing annoying.
Laura Rosenberg
It is annoying.
Peter Rosenberg
I love the mayor. I think he's doing a great job. And again, I don't think this is his choice, but I am disappointed by the people around him that they would not say, these people rode for you the whole time they were on the air for that, like, one. Well, year. Was it about a year, you think we were talking about Donnie?
Laura Rosenberg
Couple months. Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
No, couple months. It wasn't like three months. It was at least nine months, six months. When did it start getting serious? At least six to eight months. When was our first interview with him? Even our first convo with him was probably five months out from the election. Four months out from the election. And so we went on this journey with him for a long time. And. Yeah, and listen, on one level, I totally respect that Ebro is, like, not mad about it and, like, down to just go wherever. I'm just watching him do other stuff, and I'm like, yo, my man, we can't. We're in Manhattan. You can't just come sit here with us. First interview was June 3, 2025. June 3, 2025. The election was November. Now, June 3rd was not when we first started talking about him. No, June 3rd was when we had him on.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So that means, Laura, we were into it from before that. So, you know, for mainstream media. We were among the really early mainstream New York media people that rode for him.
Laura Rosenberg
I hear you.
Peter Rosenberg
And so I've been bummed out by it.
Laura Rosenberg
So the only reason I don't blame him is because I've seen this happen to us multiple times. Remember with aoc, when I first was trying to get aoc, they were yo. Her team at that time was like, nah, she don't got time. I was like, are you sure? I told them straight up, does she know that you're turning down this interview? I told them straight up. And they were like, Nope, nope, nope, nope. And then I get a call that morning. She was like, actually, she found out about this, and she really wants to do it. Is there any way we can do it? And when I spoke to her, she told me. Yeah. She's like, I can't believe they didn't tell me.
Peter Rosenberg
So this happens.
Laura Rosenberg
This happens.
Peter Rosenberg
I agree. And again, I know I seem passionate about this, and I am, because I am annoyed with people, but not Zoron. I do not think he is actively going f. That. I don't have time for them. I do not think that.
Laura Rosenberg
And that's why I don't judge him, because I know the people around him.
Peter Rosenberg
But at a certain point. But at the same time, on the flip side of that coin, I also am, like, running up to city hall to only get 15 minutes. Now, if they told us, we'd come to city hall to make it convenient for them, but they could give us an hour. To me, it's like, all right, well, that's a nice balance. You're giving us time. We'll be there. 15 minutes to come all the way there and set up and rent equipment and do that whole. It just. To me, it's weird. We have been. I understand we move like situations, but we have been the place for Democratic mayoral candidates and city mayors to talk to now for 15 years.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
It's reasonable to expect that his team should get. Get with it. Why did we end up here?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know how we got here. Oh, Hasan piker.
Peter Rosenberg
Hasan piker. Oh. Because. Because Ebro is just everything. He gives Mamdani a pass on everything. I love the guy. I think he is truly special.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
But at the same time, I'm not gonna blindly. My dad's the same way. Like, my dad's like Ebro. My dad treats mom, Donnie like his third son. I mean, everything he does well, I
Laura Rosenberg
just think it's because a. Like, he's actually getting things done. And we haven't seen that God knows how long.
Peter Rosenberg
He's just a decent. He's clearly a decent person who's trying to do decent things.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And I also understand I'm passionate about how much I hate the people who hate him.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
So it gets me angry and defensive of him because I really do think his intentions are really good. But all of those things can be true. And we still can need to hold him to standards.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'll see. Now they're gonna email us. We heard Duran.
Peter Rosenberg
We decline. We heard it. And Rosenberg is an a hole. And Then he'll end up being Ebro by himself.
Producer Griff
Anyway.
Peter Rosenberg
We liked it better when it was just gonna be, we gonna wrap this up.
Laura Rosenberg
We've been talking for too long.
Peter Rosenberg
Is that it already?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, that's it. That's it. That's it.
Peter Rosenberg
But there's other emails here. Pooh Bear wanted to know. He said, I no longer have social media. I wanted to know if the Jason Lee interview accomplished the mission as a clip economy moment. Have you all, quote, seen it moving around, as the old man always says? Louie, how did you assess the Jason Lee of it all a week later? Was it good?
L
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
L
I think a lot of people picked it up. I think the conversation around it actually surprised me. Even the way people were defending you. You know how online is. Everybody's, like, hating, especially I see a lot of hate coming for Eberlosenberg all the time. You and Ebro and some of your opinions. But, yeah, I saw a lot of people pick it up, even up until this week.
Peter Rosenberg
So, yeah, I mean, Baller alerts picked it up at the beginning of this week. They waited. It almost seemed like they waited till Jason put it up on Hollywood Unlocked.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And then they're like, oh, well, he's okay with it. So now we're okay with it.
Laura Rosenberg
Who knows? But it did. It did move.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, no, it. It. It did. Listen, here's the way I look at it. We're not going to algorithm hustle with white supremacists, so we could at least algorithm hustle with someone who's just like, you know, he's a gossipy guy who posts whatever. I don't think he's a. Someone of super high fiber, moral fiber. But. But at the same time, Jason Lee, I don't think, is poisoning the world so we can have a conversation argument. Bascom wants to end the show in a special way.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, okay.
Peter Rosenberg
What do you have for us, Bascom?
Laura Rosenberg
What is this?
Boxer Guest
Because what female fighters get is 15 to 2,000 a fight, man. Man, nobody want to rock with them because they feel they not popular. But when we out in the street, them little kids, them little girls and little boys, they magnetized by this. Them mothers, them single parent moms that got a couple haymakers from their baby dad is mesmerized by that. So we about to start doing our own thing. Independent, Everything. Not just music.
Producer Griff
Wait, where did. Wait, you said music. What. What do you mean music? He's talking about boxing.
Peter Rosenberg
Independent.
Boxer Guest
Like I said, we're gonna be. We're gonna be more independent. We blackballed and she got these belts and we still hungry out here. Clearly we got to start doing our own thing.
Peter Rosenberg
Oh, my God.
Laura Rosenberg
Right?
Producer Griff
Wait, but I thought you said you was getting more fights and you fights, but they only get paid 15 to 2 grand a fight.
Boxer Guest
That's how much they pay for you.
Producer Griff
That's more than music makes. Music don't make no money.
Boxer Guest
But when you see how much they got to train, a year of training, you know how much expensive that is, just like you.
Peter Rosenberg
It's a very similarity between it.
Boxer Guest
And our point is that we're not going to wait no more and just keep collecting
Laura Rosenberg
that Young lady.
Peter Rosenberg
Young lady was the interview. What about taking the skills from boxing and trying to move towards mixed martial arts where there's clearly a bigger brand now with Ronda Rousey and what's happening in.
Producer Griff
That's a good idea.
Peter Rosenberg
Well, thank you.
Kenza
I wish I knew some martial arts that day. He was on top of me, choking me.
Peter Rosenberg
But have you considered trying to adapt and learn more? Because, I mean, obviously you're very tough and a good fighter and a lot of, you know, those skills can still be applied in mma.
Kenza
Yes, definitely. And that's what I want all, you know, all the girls around the world to know, because you never know when you get in a situation like this. I was inside the condo when Roger Mayweather came in.
Peter Rosenberg
Okay.
Kenza
I wasn't on. On the street or no way. I was inside the condo.
Peter Rosenberg
Another great moment in Ebro Laura Rosenberg history. Laura, your face when you're on. Oh, you know, the other crash out. We didn't mention which one, but I'm thinking more about me and Laura's facial expressions. Is the Sweetie freestyle? Of course.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah. That was bad. That was bad.
Peter Rosenberg
And we love Sweetie. That is. It ain't. Everyone thought that was us setting Sweetie up. We. We really. Everyone was like, ah, Ebro in particular, because I wasn't really a big part of that conversation. But Ebro was like, hey, I don't think you need to have her freestyle her first time up here. Like, just like she could just come up and they're like, nah, bro, she needs to freestyle. And really, really insisted. And when the freestyle didn't really ring off like that, it's not horrible. But she was new.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
And I don't think Sweetie's terrible by any means. It was just a bad moment.
Laura Rosenberg
I know I felt bad for her, but I just, I also. What didn't help is like, she. I guess she had been out the whole night. Remember she came in with her big coat she didn't even hardly made any eye contact. She wasn't really in the zone.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. And it just was not. Not good.
Peter Rosenberg
But then the faces hold hit these faces, though, me and Laura. Everyone's faces when the freestyle is happening are too good. Look at me awkward staring at my
Producer Griff
phone See what these raps is about
Sweetie
Yo, Ebro's arms me with a watch the diamonds they be dancing I could better see the clock tick tock whoa that mean your girl real icy that means I don't got times for girls that don't like me I be minding my own biz but they check up on me like a parent does that kid. How does that really feel? You don't know me and don't like me. That's a very special skill. Well, let me share a little. My skin is real light but I like my. Let me get something. If I'm chilling at the bar how the fish is in the water but I'm feeling like a shark like my weather from the west and my from the east I'm looking like a beauty but I'm moving like a beast Sweet Easter beat got me on repeat if you didn't know I'm the eighth Wanted to see if you ask him about who's hot, you better ask about me. I don't know what's finding women with a college degree. How to gossip when you too busy Y' all being a queen gossiping don't get money so that ain't in my routine N.
Producer Griff
It had energy.
Peter Rosenberg
There was energy there.
Producer Griff
There was energy there.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, she had a look for you in the middle like, I know she's talking to me.
Producer Griff
I know, I know, I know. It was cool. It was cool. It was cool. I'm being honest. It was cool. It was cool.
Peter Rosenberg
But, you know.
Producer Griff
But I'm gonna leave it at cool
Laura Rosenberg
because I know the rest of the. Oh, my God.
L
You know what bothers me about that moment to this day?
Peter Rosenberg
How mean Laura was.
L
Well, no, it's just. No.
Cypher Sounds
How hard.
L
Like, people really don't realize how hard we tried to make that not happen.
Peter Rosenberg
Wait, you remember that? Yeah, Yeah, I remember. Because I remember.
L
Even we're like, all right, let's tell them the boombox doesn't work, so we can't play the music. And let's try to do an Ebro warning. Like, look, if we. If you're gonna freestyle, we're going to be honest. Like, we. It's not a good idea. And they just kept pushing and kept pushing. Yeah, then you have that and nobody know.
Peter Rosenberg
And then again, it's another example. We turn into the bad guys because we can't fake it. What are we supposed to do, you know? Whack. We'd look if I was like, oh, first, I'm not a big ooh guy during freestyles anyway. But let alone, like, everything about it, though, the comedy of us, the three of us stuffed on that little couch together. Ebro. Like this.
Laura Rosenberg
I know. I know. It's like nobody got to see all the commotion behind the scenes before this happened, you know? And then I had high. I had booked her for my festival, and then we had a talk, and we hugged it out. She was like, oh, at the festival? Yeah. She was like, yo, that really hurt my feelings. Like, I was.
Peter Rosenberg
But, like.
Louie
But that's.
Laura Rosenberg
I told her everything. I was like, look, we really try not to make it happen, you know, We. I told her, and she was cool. And, yeah, she was just like, all right, man.
Peter Rosenberg
But, like, listen, sometimes people aren't ready. I. I totally though respect that you're trying when you're not ready, rather than you're scared to try.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
Respect the hell out of it. But you got to also eat it when it doesn't turn out to be good.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, but that was her team at that time, that they were so aggressive people. I wish people could have seen how aggressive they were about having her do that. But it is what it is. It's the past. She's fine now.
Peter Rosenberg
I think she turned out fun.
Sweetie
Yeah.
Peter Rosenberg
I'm happy. Shots to Sweetie. I think she's done well. Shouts to mom. Donnie.
Laura Rosenberg
Wow.
Peter Rosenberg
And you know what? While I'm at. And shout out to the complex list. I thought that was great.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, my God. Well, we went through a lot today.
Peter Rosenberg
Yeah, we. We ended up. There was a lot of. A lot of things came out on F. Friday, and we're just less than a week away from Validate Me, which, as you can see, is still needed. The show keeps its signature blend of humor, candor, and familial banter—ranging from loud belly laughs to honest frustration. The crew isn’t afraid to critique themselves, each other, or the broader industry, often voicing what many think but rarely say publicly. There’s an undercurrent of nostalgia, a willingness to pivot between pop culture and political analysis, and a commitment to listener engagement.
In summary:
This episode captures the unique chemistry and topical range of The Ebro, Laura, Rosenberg Show. The hosts bounce between their own lives (family, travel, pets), current news, industry scores (and snubs), legendary show blowups, and astute cultural commentary—all in real time with their audience. Unscripted, witty, and always willing to “fight for the mic,” the trio turns a regular Friday into a swirling ride of laughs, real talk, and radio history.
