Ebro
Just don't call it a podcast. It's a podcast. It is, but it's also a live show. Water. It's Rosenberg show. That's right. We're here 8am, checking in for duty in the midst of a nurse strike.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, City.
Ebro
Which we'll delve into. Mom Donnie was out with the nurses, so that's a good idea for Mom Donnie. I like this. And then you got the. The rich folk that run the. The hospitals. Laura will report on the lies. The lies.
Laura Rosenberg
The lies.
Ebro
They're trying to push the lies they're being told.
Laura Rosenberg
I know, I know.
Ebro
Listen, man, the billionaire class, y' all gotta chill out, B. Y' all really gotta relax.
Laura Rosenberg
Stop being so damn greedy.
Ebro
Well, not only.
Rosenberg
How do you think they got to being billionaires? They're not gonna stop now.
Ebro
No, you're right, Rosenberg. But also, stop lying. Like the, the whole. Is it the jig? The jig is up.
Rosenberg
It's. The jig is up.
Ebro
Yeah, the jig is up because nobody believes you. You need more people and you can't just pay for it anymore. Like, there's no reason that nurses are struggling and CEOs of hospitals in New York City are making $26 million, $15 million.
Laura Rosenberg
And nurses are just asking for basic things. When I'm. When I'm going through the bullet points of things they're on strike for. It's mind blowing. It's just basic things.
Rosenberg
That's usually how it is.
Ebro
You get nothing without a fight. You get nothing without a few letters, you know, I mean, you need some letters. You need to stand your ground. You need to, you know, wait a little bit. But yeah, the nurses were outside, man. It's the biggest. I think they're saying this is the biggest nurse strike in New York City history. Right.
Laura Rosenberg
I read that too.
Rosenberg
That's not what you want, by the way.
Ebro
It's not good. Right? If the nurses are outside, that means there's a problem inside.
Rosenberg
Correct. If the nurses are outside, what's going on inside? This is not what you want. So I Didn't know much about this till last night. I didn't see the first thing about it till like last night. Yeah, but no, that is absolutely not what you want.
Ebro
Yo, can you imagine, yo. And especially people are already struggling with health care costs. So you got the health care cost situation. Crazy nurses are on strike. And don't we have like one of the worst flu seasons we've seen since. I don't know. Yeah, the inf, the, the, you know, the black plague or something.
Rosenberg
Based on my personal experience and interaction is people are just sick everywhere. So. Yeah, yeah, I still haven't figured out my situation. I get my kit today, my mold kit.
Ebro
Well, you know what it sounds like. Well, two things. One, nurse strike. Hit the button.
Rosenberg
Oh, I wasn't ready, but I have.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Ebro
Rosenberg may have likely moved into a mold ridden new apartment.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Ebro
No, I really hope not, bro. I know I'm hitting you with the button, but it literally. I've seen people get reoccurring respiratory issues for years for living in moldy apartment.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, I'll tell you this, Rosenberg, if. If in fact it's positive, you have a reason to break your lease and get the hell out of there.
Ebro
Well, facts.
Rosenberg
So. So of course now we kind of like it and we're kind of good, but it is what it is. It. So if it comes up positive, here's the question I have. They're going to say we can fix it, right?
Ebro
Well, it depends. There's levels to the game. I think, honestly, if your little home test comes up positive, hire professional.
Laura Rosenberg
And then you have a baby in the house, you gotta go a whole other level.
Rosenberg
Yeah, so. So we gotta go.
Laura Rosenberg
You can raise hell.
Rosenberg
I mean, at this point we've been here a month, so we get up.
Ebro
Are you unpacked?
Rosenberg
Yes.
Ebro
Hit the button.
Rosenberg
No.
Laura Rosenberg
No, I don't think.
Ebro
It's not like a no, but it's.
Button Sound Effect
Not like, congratulations, you played right.
Rosenberg
There's. Listen, there'd be no, there would be no way around it if, if. Because there's been a series of things that were. We didn't like about the building. It's hard to explain why we rushed here, but it's. It's a long story. But then there was a series of things and you know, but then it's been mostly good. But then last night, for example, I went to go take my dog out before bed at 10:30. Okay.
Ebro
All right.
Rosenberg
Both elevators were out.
Button Sound Effect
Nah, bro, Congratulations, you played yourself.
Ebro
What floor are you on?
Rosenberg
8Th.
Ebro
That's my biggest pet peeve.
Rosenberg
And. And then our. The stairs are. Are like. There are stairs right there. Like, the stairs are open in our building. It's like, you see the stairs when you walk into the lobby. It's a big staircase. They're incredibly steep. So, like, it's not. First of all. And my dog's 15. He literally couldn't do it. I mean, no joke, Bear couldn't do it. So I would have to carry him. Carry him, but that wouldn't be safe. So I'd probably have to, like, put him in a duffel bag and carry. So I woke up this morning and I. I walked out and they were both working. I went down to the trash room to throw away some trash, and I saw two guys there, one of which was a lovely listener who. Who said hello to me. But I said, what are you guys doing here? They said, fixing the elevator. And I asked. I said, what happened? They said, it must just been something tripped the power went out to both of them. It wasn't a danger, just some sort of power thing happened. But I was like, I don't like this, though.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations. You played yourself.
Rosenberg
So, yeah, listen, if the mole test is the thing, I guess we'll just get up and get out, which would be a huge pain in the ass, but I'm not gonna have my daughter in a place that's not safe, so.
Laura Rosenberg
Exactly.
Ebro
Huge pain in the ass. But the button one more time, I'm sure, though.
Rosenberg
No, but E. New York.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations. You played yourself.
Rosenberg
Sure. The landlords can't just, you know, do whatever they want. They'd have to, I'm sure, be responsible. Right.
Ebro
Well, you have a new mayor who's attempting to hold them responsible. Has he had success yet? I don't know. Are all of his systems set up where. I mean, they do have a person that you can. Office you can go to now and make a complaint about the building.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, it's all.
Ebro
Can you find Mom Donnie's. Get us the name of Mom Donnie's person that you're supposed to complain to about your building.
Rosenberg
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
It's all new. But he's. That's exactly why he's been so passionate about that. Because for ever. I can't even say. For years, people in New York have been dealing with these issues.
Ebro
Well, the. Here's the other interesting piece. I have a. I assume your building is not to your standards. However, I'm sure it's not as bad as some other buildings in the New York City.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
Area.
Rosenberg
Well, that's. That's the thing.
Ebro
I mean, so you're probably not at the, at the emergency level of them coming to check on your building.
Rosenberg
I, I would imagine that. But what, that, where it could be very helpful is like, if, for example, if, God forbid, there is mold, and I'm like, I got to get my child up here out of the. Immediately. Yo. The building should be responsible for paying your moving costs. The building should be responsible for a lot at that point.
Ebro
I mean, you think?
Rosenberg
So they, they, I, they, they signed the thing that said no mold in my. There's a special form in New York apartment.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
Rosenberg
It says no mold. So if you were in that you were in. If, if they were knowingly or unknowingly endangering my family, that's not a lawsuit.
Laura Rosenberg
But I hear you.
Rosenberg
Listen, you know what? I'm not going to jump ahead. We're going to figure it out. We got plans.

Ebro
Nah, but you know, I gotta do things right when I think about them. Are you guys at that stage of your life where if you don't do it right when you think about it, it'll pop? Like you'll forget it's gone and.
Rosenberg
Yeah, I mean, listen, we are washed. We're all washed here. It's facts.
Ebro
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. Speaking of, watch really quickly, guys. Yesterday, bruh. I mean, I guess this is. Should probably save this for family matters, but Kenzo was throwing up like a crazy person yesterday.
Ebro
Oh man. You got something in the house that's a bug.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. I mean, out of nowhere it was just like Project Exorcist.
Ebro
Exorcist.
Laura Rosenberg
You already know Ebro.
Ebro
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh man. Broke our hearts. Me and Ricardo are going nuts on cleanup. And then, you know, washing her up. And Ace just.
Rosenberg
Damn fever too.
Laura Rosenberg
No fever. No fever. Tummy ache. Throw. Now, she had been saying that her tummy was a little off. And I think she. She's. She's been going to the bathroom. Okay.
Ebro
She dropped a deuce, so it's coming out both ends. Something's working.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, yeah. She seems really good right now. Like this morning she was.
Ebro
Maybe it was just like a little, you know, 24 Hour Jam.
Laura Rosenberg
I hope, I hope it was just something.
Ebro
Are you keeping her home from school or are you one of those parents that don't really know what's going on? So you're just going to send her back in and hope for the best? Yep. There she goes, off to school. She said, okay, good. I asked spread whatever disease she's walking around with back into the school.
Laura Rosenberg
Do.
Rosenberg
No.
Laura Rosenberg
Do you think it's irresponsible because she's fine this morning. Like I checked and I was like, are you good? She was like, yeah, I want to go to school. Good energy.
Rosenberg
If there's no fever. And she was just yakking. It could have been something she ate. That doesn't sound like right.
Laura Rosenberg
That's what I thought. That's what I thought.
Ebro
Laura, I just wanted to blame you for all the other parents who send their kids to school just not running down. I don't do that giant cough.
Rosenberg
Just.
Laura Rosenberg
I've seen it. I mean there were my child era when I.
Ebro
You're like, yo, who sent you in here like this?
Laura Rosenberg
I'm a judger. I'm like, oh, I want to spray.
Rosenberg
I guess what happens. I guess. I guess parents get to a certain point at times you take care of them for a couple days. If People can't miss work anymore. They're like, ah, you seem good enough. Pack some tissues and go home. Go in. I mean, listen, guys, that.
Ebro
It's also. The pediatrician says, oh, they're not contagious anymore, right? Those snots flying.
Rosenberg
And also, that's not front, guys, we all. When I remember my history, I definitely remember the days when I had a pocket full of tissues and it was a long day.
Ebro
Oh, no. I used to walk around red man style.
Rosenberg
Yeah, you had. You had allergy problems.
Ebro
Well, not even allergy problems. If I was sick, I had asthma as a kid growing up, I was a disaster.
Rosenberg
I gotta hit up my doctor.
Ebro
Why my ent?
Rosenberg
Cause I just want to ask him.
Ebro
Why if I should get well.
Rosenberg
No, it's. It just hasn't been going away. So, like, yes, I'm gonna do the mole test today, but I think there's a good chance that'll come up negative. And then it's just. Why have I been on and off sick for three weeks? And I don't want it to lead to me losing my voice again. So I think my guy, who's like an ent, him taking a look is probably a good idea.
Laura Rosenberg
That's the responsible thing to do.
Rosenberg
You know, I talked to my therapist yesterday. She picked up the phone. She was. I swear to God, she sounded like this. She's like, I can still talk if you don't mind.
Laura Rosenberg
You're like. You're like, you shouldn't be talking.
Rosenberg
So. I know. So I said that. So at the time, though, I'm already in the car. I was moving, you know, Now I. I don't have a parking garage anymore, so I'm already in my car, like, waiting for a spot. I was like, well, I'm happy to talk if you still want to listen. And I was like, but I'm going to be honest, doctor. You shouldn't be talking. And the times that she would weigh in and she'd be like. I'd be like, you know what? You just. I don't need your advice this week. Just go ahead. Go ahead and be a sounding board we don't need.
Laura Rosenberg
You're like, I'm good this week.
Rosenberg
This is not helping me. This is actually freaking me out. No, this is bad. Yo, there's things going on out here, guys. The streets are not good.
Ebro
No, the streets. It's a mess outside. There's blood in the water, as they say. Yeah, here we are. It's blood in the water now, Rosenberg. I noticed yesterday, on yesterday's program, we started talking about Trump's dementia. And every time I bring up Trump's dementia, either publicly or privately, you seem to fade. I saw Cory Booker post something on his Instagram.
Rosenberg
No, I don't, I don't fade. I don't fade. I, I have mixed feelings on it in that I don't know how much it is yet impacting what's going on. It's like, it's almost like, for lack of a better word, like, you know, it's almost like the hope of people who are against Trump, meaning people with free will and spirit, that this will be the end and we can get out of this, God willing.
Ebro
Well, now. And no, he won't be honest. Well, if you go from, if Trump's out early, you go to J.D. vance.
Rosenberg
Yeah, that ain't gonna hit. You know what though? I've started to think that used to scare me. These, these other cats, they're not gonna hit the same. They're not gonna, they don't Ebro, they don't get the people going. That's the thing. Like that, that's the it. We cannot remove that part from Trump.
Ebro
Yeah, but, but remember, that's part of it. Yeah, okay, there is that, I'll give you that. But there's also like the fact that I believe the J.D. vance's and the people who financed him, like the Peter Thiels, Palantir and all these billionaire tech bros, are even more dangerous.
Laura Rosenberg
I think so too. And the people that are already in.
Ebro
Power and I think Trump's maybe tied to some old school cats and lets them, you know, maneuver him in some ways to get to the money. You know, I mean, I do think that Trump kinda, if his brain is working, has a mind of his own at times.
Rosenberg
I 100% agree. And I felt this way for a long time.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
That as evil as Donald Trump is, he is not as evil as Vance Miller or your point? These other ones who aren't even in power. And because he's a wild animal. You know what I mean? And is down to just randomly go, you know what? I changed my mind. His free will has probably at times randomly saved us from things getting even worse.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
Because he's a wild card and they can't totally hold him down. J.D. vance will be owned by whoever needs to own him.
Ebro
Already, Already. No, no, no. It's already done.
Rosenberg
It's done. He's not, he's not going to have the coones to be like, nah, I don't do that. Trump has this false sense of he knows everything, where he will push back. I do. That part does scare me.
Ebro
Well, anyway, the reason I bring that up is because I also feel like there's people who don't want to point to Trump's dementia because it feels like a replay of what just happened to Biden and it feels cheap. It feels like. So you guys just going to go with the man is old and the same way they went, they did the same thing with Biden. Well, but the truth of the matter isn't the breeze, I'll point that out is because he is old, he plays younger. And we've talked about this for, for years, he plays younger than Biden, the way he talks and moves.
Rosenberg
But that's not hard, right?
Ebro
Exactly that part. But how much younger is, is Trump than Biden? Two years, four years? Something like that?
Rosenberg
Two. I think he's about to be 80, right?
Ebro
Yeah. GRIFF says, yeah, he's.
Rosenberg
No, no, he's old. He's, he's very old as well. And it could be a thing that, you know, his, his health is clearly not great. We know that the man, the man lives off of like hot dogs and Diet Coke. Okay.
Ebro
He's not, forget, don't forget the many.
Rosenberg
Many French fries and many, many, many, many French fries. I just, I guess I just don't, I care about it. I pay attention to it, but, like, I'm just not going to do, you know, to me, I don't, I don't think it's going to save us at this point. So I just don't spend too much energy on it. I got too much concern about the Gestapo walking into people's houses.
Ebro
You know, I'm glad you brought up the Gestapo. I saw a post of a woman talking about that, this ICE thing while we're calling it a Gestapo, because I think, you know, it's more recent history for people. The Gestapo going door to door in the night, snatching people out, neighbors disappearing, all those things. ICE is actually, according to people on the Internet, more like slave catchers than they are like the Gestapo.
Rosenberg
Interesting.
Ebro
And basing that on just how they get signed up. Who are these people?
Rosenberg
Well, did slave catchers, like, sign up?
Ebro
Slave catchers were just like, sign up. I'm down. These weren't well trained individuals and they.
Laura Rosenberg
Lured them with like a nice chunk of change.
Ebro
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
And then they're like, here's your training. It's probably like a one hour video.
Rosenberg
You got this.
Laura Rosenberg
And then you have incentives for the more you catch, the more you get.
Ebro
Yes.
Rosenberg
Whereas The Gestapo was a fully trained.
Ebro
Military Gestapo was a little bit more locked in. Now you mentioned yesterday the guy that has shot murdered Renee. Good. This guy's well trained.
Rosenberg
Oh, yeah. He's not, he's no Johnny come. Lately he's been around, which makes it worse. Yeah, I, I just. What really upsets me is I know people. There are, there are people, there are Jews, there are other minorities who watch the videos and stuff. And these aren't like evil people or anything. These are people who have just like been slowly co opted and lost sight of, of humanity, whose attitude is just like, why don't you just do what they say?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah.
Rosenberg
And so you see, what I'm saying is, and when they say that, they're not coming from like some malicious, terrible place, but they're just not seeing. How are you not seeing this? Why don't you just do what they say? If we all just do what they say. I mean, I am so thankful for the brave people in these cities like Minneapolis who are not under the threat of ice, who are showing up and making this job hell. Like, these are, these are brave, incredible, special Americans who are out there fighting for their fellow man and woman to make this harder.
Ebro
Right? And just like during abolition and the civil rights era, guess what? The white supremacists do kill them also.
Rosenberg
Well, as we just saw, if you're.

Laura Rosenberg
How many videos have you seen of like US citizens being roughed up, beat up and plead and then pleading like, yo, I was. There was this one video that I saw, I was a black American who was like telling him what hospital he was born, like, just running down.
Rosenberg
Proof.
Laura Rosenberg
Of any kind that he's an American citizen. Till after they basically slammed him against the wall and beat his. Beat him up. Then they were like, they check his stuff and they're like, all right, you could go after the trauma and the violence, all right, you could go.
Ebro
And you don't have a Department of Justice. You have no recourse right now. You have zero recourse. There will be lawsuits though, against the federal.
Rosenberg
Can you.
Ebro
There Will be payouts. There will be payouts. Right now they're counting the dead. Right. That's starting to move around late last night of people posting the names of all of the individuals killed by ICE. I think we're in the 30s.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Right now it's the 30s.
Ebro
And then you have videos. Rahsaan, run the video of the ICE officer like this that are hitting the Internet yesterday. Shame on you.
Rosenberg
Listen, have y' all not learned from the past couple of days? Have you not learned?
Laura Rosenberg
Learned what?
Ebro
What's our lesson here?
Laura Rosenberg
What do you want us to learn?
Ebro
Following federal agents.
Laura Rosenberg
Give me my phone. Haven't you learned your lesson? Haven't you learned from the past couple days?
Ebro
Now, a slave catcher was a person employed to track down and return escaped slaves to their enslavers. Primarily. Obviously in the United States before the abolition of slavery, these individuals were a part of slave patrol system and often recruited by southern planters to control the enslaved population. The role of the slave slave catchers became particularly contentious in the lead up to the American Civil War, especially after the Fugitive slave Act of 1850 required citizens and law enforcement to aid in capturing runaway slaves. So the signup of citizens in this participation of tracking down and capturing individuals. Gestapo was just. Was a. I don't think it was citizens who were signing up to the Gestapo.
Rosenberg
It was military. It was like it was military.
Ebro
And, and on top of that they were just going door to door snatching people up and snatching people out and people were disappearing.
Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro
And so J.D. vance, I don't know if we ever played his video, just did an interview talking about them ramping things up and going door to door. Yeah, that's where we are.
Rosenberg
Hit the button and, and, and you know. Oh, sorry, that's me on the button.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Rosenberg
We're not far off, you know, from it being they got to pick a group first. Right. They had, they had.
Ebro
They.
Rosenberg
The safest group for them was foreign born in theory, in their made up theory. Foreign born, illegal and dangerous. Yeah, that was the line, right. They're foreign, they're illegal and they're the quote, worst of the worst. We know that to be patently false. The statistics don't back that up whatsoever. But now it's becoming, oh, naturalized citizens. We're going to look at that. Yep. Eventually it will be people like us, people who are speaking out openly against the government. It's not that far a slide before Mark Ruffalo. And that's the thing. Ebro cats are brave. Now to speak up On a really big stage. This is all. Everything's a risk right now. I'd be. I'm not going to lie. Like, I'm Mark Ruffalo, who did it on a huge platform, and the whole world's posting about it. It's. It's a very scary thing, man. And this could happen. And that's why when people say, why don't you just listen? We. We cannot just accept this. You. We do have the opportunity to slow this down as much as possible by being interferers, you know, by making this more complex and harder for them. If we just lay back and everyone takes it, it will move faster.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know if you saw the video. And I. And I had to stop because it. It made me cry. It was a. A couple. I don't know what state it was, but it went super viral. A doordash delivery woman who was a Latina, she was delivering food, and then all of a sudden, ICE rolls up in front of the house, and the woman, like, runs into their home. And the woman in Spanish is pleading that she has her babies.
Ebro
You can't.
Laura Rosenberg
My daughters. I was. I could not. It was the most hard.
Ebro
The woman that owned the house had kids in the house. And meanwhile, the. The ice, you know, slave catchers are outside circling her house like some like. Like wild dogs waiting for the woman to. They're hunting. They are hunting, and they love it.
Laura Rosenberg
And the Latina woman was crying, but she was like, I have children in school right now. They can't. They'll be by themselves. They have nobody. I am their only caretaker. And then the woman is, like, freaking out because she. They have guns. She's calling the police, and she's letting them know, and they're pretty much telling her, like, ma', am, you're. If you do not open the door, you're harboring a.
Ebro
A.
Laura Rosenberg
A quote unquote criminal. You can get in trouble. So it's like this. This poor family is crying, and she kept saying, telling her, I am sorry, I am sorry. I didn't want to do this, but she has to open the door because then she will be in trouble.
Rosenberg
Well, she has. She has children in the house.
Laura Rosenberg
It's. It's the most heartbreaking.
Ebro
But ICE can't come in that woman's house.
Laura Rosenberg
No. But they told her if she doesn't open the door that she will be. Legally, there's. There's.
Ebro
She can get in trouble if. If that woman who was a delivery person was actually a criminal.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I. But they're looking at you. Now, if you are undocumented, they're already labeling you as a criminal. You're here illegally. You committed a crime by just existing and being here.
Ebro
But that crime is not a felony.
Laura Rosenberg
Do you think they care?
Ebro
I know, I know, I know. I'm just making sure it's said. That's all. I'm just making sure it's said.
Rosenberg
If you're the person and you want to help this person, but they're a stranger and you have your own family in the house. It's awful. Just, it's just.
Ebro
Well, how about the, how about the, the teenager? I think he was 17. Did you guys see this video? He was working at Target and they, they picked him up and, and put him in the car and then threw him out of the car and left him like, eight miles. He was at his job.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, my God. No, I didn't see this.
Ebro
At his job. Picked him up in the parking lot, took him. When they found out he was an American citizen, just dropped him off eight miles away and threw him out of the car.
Rosenberg
Wow.
Ebro
Now the, the report says they threw him out of the car. Now, I don't know if that was like, they barely slowed down and just kicked him out while the car was moving or they let him get out and it was, you know, man, these.
Rosenberg
People, bro, it really is. This is like, it's hard to, like, stop thinking about this.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
You know, well, it's hard to stop thinking about. It's hard to stop talking about it. And you can't, you can't.
Rosenberg
And then, and then you shouldn't and, and can also.
Ebro
So it's Ebro Laura Rosenberg show. We did. We, we. It was after we were off yesterday. We didn't get to salute Mero for doing Mero in the mornings. Mornings with Merrow.
Rosenberg
That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Rosenberg
That was announced yesterday.
Ebro
Came down. Yeah, I saw, I, I saw this morning. I didn't even see it on my algo, but I saw a thing this morning with Nessa and him. I didn't get to hear it, though. I saw Nessa and him doing something. So shout out to the, Shout to the family over there, man. I'm happy for. Mero is a good dude, man. He deserves it.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, he's a great guy. I, I, obviously we already knew, you know, all of us already know. So we reached out, but, and like I said, it's like I told him, he's with a great team. Like, our team is a great team. Mia Bell's amazing. Of course. Shawnee Juanito Cass. People we absolutely adore. So, I mean, we don't know if they're going to stay, but I hope they do.
Rosenberg
I will. I will say, I think the most perfect and apt phrase for me when it comes to this is a broken clock is right twice a day and. And the powers that be. I think this is a very good hire. Mero is entertaining. Super New York, super good dude. Has four kids, like family dude.
Ebro
It's great all the way around.
Laura Rosenberg
And I just got to remind people, like, our issues were never with the people there. We love the people there. We love even Hot 97 as a brand. We just didn't. We hated the company that runs it.
Rosenberg
Now. Listen, me, me as I. I am incredibly the silver lining. And there's some other people who are going to be on that show that they didn't announce yet and.
Ebro
Oh, really?
Rosenberg
Yeah, they haven't announced yet, but there's some other. You know, I think he's putting together a bit of a team also. And you know, the silver lining is I love the people who are getting a chance to do it and I think they're really good. You know, it's. It's. It. That. That part makes it really dope. Listen, I'm not gonna. I'm not one to hold back, so I'm not gonna say anything crazy because we have our own BS to deal with. But the one thing that is hard not to feel away about is. Is to see the rollout and the excitement and the posts and the production around it and the. Even at times it seems like paying for. For stuff on social media. You're getting suggested videos and stuff like that. The only reason that I'm left with the nasty feeling is that our exit was plain old nasty. Like there's just no way around it.
Ebro
Like, but there's also from beginning, not right now. Yeah, but not to. Right. But not to relitigate it too much. Right. Not to go back into it. We were vocal about how things were being managed and we didn't like it.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Ebro
And most of that was because I have. It's. That's not my bread and butter over there. And they knew that. Which is another reason why they probably was like, yo, we gotta get rid of this guy. It's not even his primary gig.
Laura Rosenberg
And he's complaining too much.
Ebro
And he's. And he's complaining and on the air complaining. Not even behind the scenes on the air complaining.
Rosenberg
Listen, I get it. We. We all did, right?
Ebro
And then the Cuomo thing was like.
Rosenberg
Listen, you're giving lots of reasons, and the reasons are all things that make sense.
Ebro
They did not want us to put out the entire cuom incident.
Rosenberg
No, they pulled it.
Ebro
I took it and put it out anyway.
Rosenberg
Correct. I'm not.
Ebro
That is not. People don't like stuff like that.
Rosenberg
Rosenberg, you are 100 correct. Laura, let me just add.
Laura Rosenberg
Go ahead.
Rosenberg
You are 100 correct. However, there was still no need for it to be as nasty. Like, you know, listen, maybe enough, enough. Got. Enough. Got to send off, Angie. Got to send off. Listen, I understand most people, you don't always get a chance to do that, but had they in a decent way reached out to us and said, hey, here's the deal. We can't come up to terms. Y' all are unhappy. We understand we're going a different direction. Let's wrap this thing up.
Ebro
Nice.
Rosenberg
They absolutely could have done that. None of us would have been like.
Laura Rosenberg
No, I never expected it, especially from them. But you know what makes me happy, Rosenberg?
Ebro
Yes.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations. You played yourself.
Laura Rosenberg
The only thing that makes me happy is like, yo, you guys hired Mero. Somebody who is. Definitely has the same politics.
Rosenberg
Political beliefs.
Laura Rosenberg
Political beliefs. And he was out there campaigning for mom Donnie. So I doubt that Marrow is going to hold back, and I hope he doesn't.
Ebro
Right. But, Laura, Mero's not going to hold back. Mero's also. He's going to do it through a funny lens. He's not going to be yelling and berating white supremacists and Nazis.
Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro
It's a different practice in the morning. I mean, that's what I.
Rosenberg
Listen, I will tell you right now, the other day, the other day you go, look up Mero's tweet the other day when J.D. vance gave his spiel.
Ebro
Uh huh.
Rosenberg
No, no.
Ebro
He goes, ham. No.
Rosenberg
Mero on Twitter says things. I go, wow, I couldn't post that.
Ebro
No, no, no. He goes, ham.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm happy.
Rosenberg
So who knows, who knows where this thing goes?
Ebro
And I hope he does. Listen, I hope I'm wrong and you.
Rosenberg
Want to see it.
Ebro
But, but I want to see it. The, the other, the, the other, the other pieces, remember specifically the Cuomo and the Adams. Adams, I'm told, was a friend of the.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, right.
Ebro
And Cuomo was a friend also. Like, yeah. And, and keep in mind, this is an awesome move. They got rid of us non New Yorkers.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, yes.
Ebro
And they got a chance to make a new story with New Yorkers. This is a solid.
Rosenberg
This is. This was my broken clock is right twice a day thing.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
It was. It was one again. Like I said, I can't say anything negative about the hire because I love the people they have, and it's a great hire. Yeah. All I can say is the negativity about the nastiness that went on from then until now and continues to be nasty and the fact that you were incapable, regardless of what had been said, incapable of thanking people for their work. You know, nearly 20. In your case, Ebro, over 20 years. In our case, nearly 20 years of our life. And to not even be able to throw in a sentence is wild. Is wild.
Ebro
Wait time.
Rosenberg
I'm sorry. I hold people to humans.
Ebro
You know what? I'm away. I'm away. I'm away. I'm away.
Laura Rosenberg
No, I want to wrap this up.
Ebro
No. Yeah, I'm a wait. No, because it's gonna come back up. I' ma wait. The other thing I'll just add, I wonder if Mero and Envy worked out their differences.
Rosenberg
It said that they did, but.
Ebro
But. Oh, that's great, but. Well, no, it's not.
Rosenberg
I mean, from a radio standpoint, I hope. I mean, listen, you got to get something cooking, baby. That's how you do it.
Ebro
No, no, no. It's a different time, Rose.
Rosenberg
You don't think people want to cook in the same way?
Ebro
Nah, they don't want to do that. Every. Every nobody. Like, I don't. Well, let me not say nobody. People now, they want everything to be hunky dory and nicey nicey. They don't like to. You know what I mean? Ain't no mixing it up, you know?
Rosenberg
I mean. Well, listen, I just know, you know, Mero. Mero is spicy, if it gets down to it.
Ebro
Yeah, no, it's good, it's good.
Laura Rosenberg
Wait, hold on. So now on our chat, really quickly. Okay, this is from Machine Psyduck Ebers. That one friend that's still popping ish when everyone is trying to de escalate. I swear, if he was born in New York, he'd be from Queensland.
Ebro
How was I popping Ish.
Rosenberg
Yeah, he wasn't doing it here.
Laura Rosenberg
Sorry.
Ebro
I just, like, I was. I was trying to keep Rosenberg from, you know, turning up.
Rosenberg
Bonnie said. Bonnie said you deserved a final show. I will never tune into that station again.
Ebro
No, come on. Listen, the good thing about. The good thing about where things are now is if you're locked in with us, you could be locked in with us. You know what I mean?
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah, and I'm excited for that.
Ebro
Check out other things.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, but no, I Listen, like I said, look, I'm happy for people that we love, that they still have jobs, and I'm happy for the people who are supporting us because we have so much love from our listeners that we've held down throughout the year. So love all around.
Ebro
Now I want to get back. Speaking of mom, Donnie, I want to get back to that because I don't know if we played his video out there with the nurses. I want to stay on this nurse strike here in New York City because it's huge. A and B, the billionaires who are working at the hospitals who are trying to spread lies. So let's get this mom, Donny vid rolling.
Mom Donnie
The CEO and president of Montefiore made more than $16 million last year. The CEO of New York Presby, where we are today, made $26 million last year. But for too many of the 15,000 knives and nurses who are on strike, they are not able to make their ends meet. They are not asking for a multi million dollar salary. What they are asking for is for their pensions to be safeguarded, to be protected in their own workplace, to receive the pay and the health benefits that they deserve. New Yorkers have a right to quality health care, as do the nurses who provide that care.
Ebro
The NYSDA KNA demands pay hikes, safe staffing level, full health care coverage and pensions. Workplace protections against violence.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. Did you mention responsible use of AI and healthcare to support and not replace human patient care?
Ebro
I did not that I did not see that one, but I'm glad you brought that one. That's a big one.
Laura Rosenberg
One. That's a big one. Yeah.
Ebro
Yeah. The management of AI where they don't just bring in AI nurses, bro, I'm.
Laura Rosenberg
Not as a patient. I am not trying to be.
Ebro
You don't want somebody rolling up an iPad to you to punch in how you feel and have the iPad talk.
Laura Rosenberg
Back to you as I'm bleeding or throwing up. Like I do not have time to just be there.
Ebro
Wait, are you saying you don't want a Tesla robot to come, you know, take your blood pressure and, and your, and your, and your blood to figure out what's going on?
Laura Rosenberg
No, thank you. I would like a real human being.
Rosenberg
Yo, it's.
Ebro
Are you telling me ladies aren't going to be into the robot pap smear that's not going to go over or.
Laura Rosenberg
I doubt you on a automated colonoscopy? That doesn't sound fun.
Rosenberg
Although based on what I've heard from women a lot over the years, they may appreciate the robot over a male doctor. That. That is. That is possible.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, we have the option to choose a female doctor if we want to.
Rosenberg
That's. That's. That's the way I hear many people do it. It's so, so quintessentially American. You know, the whole thing is just so American. All these people, they cannot afford to pay them a basic wage, and they make $26 million. And, guys, this extends across all fields.
Ebro
This is.
Rosenberg
This is everywhere.
Ebro
And it should be noted by anybody watching this or listening to this conversation, hospitals have been closing in New York City.
Laura Rosenberg
Everywhere. Ebro.
Ebro
Well, everywhere. But I'm just, you know, this is where the strike is right now. Hospitals, public hospitals have been closing in New York City. So the health care system, I mean, what. Obviously on a national level, is terrible. Locally, it's. It's. It's really, really bad. And it's been. It's been sliding for a long time. Oh, look, coming up, we have to get into the gurus, but right now, Rosenberg, get your stuff together. Don't shiny culture me right now.
Rosenberg
Well, hold on. Tell me where for the.
Ebro
Look, rundown time.
Rosenberg
It's rundown time. All right, well, hold on. Before the rundown, I do have to do Ebro. We got the super chat crack. And so I gotta just give these shout outs because. Please. Supporting the show. So these are not the words of me. I am repeating the super fan comments.
Ebro
Okay.
Rosenberg
Steph, A ism. I. I'm botching your name, I'm sure said they did y' all dirty with that unceremonious exit. Anyway, someone called marrow diet Ebro yesterday, and that was hilarious.
Ebro
Let's not do that. Let's not do that.
Rosenberg
Well, I, I have to read. I, I, I'm not for.
Ebro
Just shout her out and say, you saw the comments.
Rosenberg
It. She, she. She showed a lot of support. She showed a lot of support. But, yeah, we don't feel that way at all. That. That is definitely not how we feel at all. So.
Laura Rosenberg
No, we love you.
Rosenberg
We love you and appreciate the love, but not definitely no shots over there. They. They actually managed to come up with something. I said, hell, no, they didn't come up with something like that. I think we all had the same reaction of like, wow, a good idea. I haven't heard one of those over here in years. Next thing you know, they're gonna start selling commercials. What the hell's going on over here?
Ebro
I hope for the best, man. I hope they invest in those studios over there. I hope they invest in that location. Over there. I hope they take care of our. Our. Our family at wbls, because that. That studio they're broadcasting in is unacceptable. Like, those conditions that they're. And by the way, these two legendary heritage brands in the city, WBLS is like one of the oldest black. It was the oldest black radio station, one of in the country. And so great people, great people who have been on the radio telling the news day in, day out, good days and bad days for a long time. And the conditions that they have them in is. Are unacceptable. And, you know, I was not going to sit by and not be vocal about that.
Rosenberg
No. You know, and, Laura, you did a lot as well. Like, a lot of people were voicing that this was not an acceptable thing, and they didn't like that. And listen, maybe bringing in a marquee talent like a marrow will help force them to do the right thing. That's what I'm gonna hope for. All right. That was a lot of stalling to say. You want the rundown?
Ebro
Wait, you only had one person in the super chat?
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, no, there's more.
Rosenberg
Lauren. Go ahead, Laura.
Ebro
I don't even know what the hell a super chat is.
Rosenberg
It's a super. It's super, and it's a chat. All right, here we go. Listening SL watching from Alabama since 2015.
Ebro
Appreciate you.
Rosenberg
Y' all are the hosts. Real opinions on the real world and good fun. I'm with y' all wherever you go.
Laura Rosenberg
Love you.
Ebro
Love you.
Rosenberg
That's really cool. Thank you, man.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, we got to get to it.
Rosenberg
Come on.
Ebro
Let's go. The rundown.
Rosenberg
The rundown.
Ebro
Laura Sty. Laura Styro. Laura Rosenberg. All right.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, so let's get into it, guys.
Ebro
Gotta wait for the beat to drop.
Laura Rosenberg
It's just taking so long.
Rosenberg
It's all set up till this place.
Ebro
Hitting the beat. Now you go.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay, okay, okay. All right.
Rosenberg
Mary J. Blige, your shoulder dance ain't hitting like the Ebro shoulder dance.
Ebro
Don't do that.
Rosenberg
No, I can't.
Ebro
He's trying to start H today, man. Don't do that.
Rosenberg
I can't hold. I can't even hold.
Laura Rosenberg
Sorry. All right, so Mary J. Blige made a huge announcement. Her first Las Vegas residency this year. 10 shows. Listen, my girls have been texting me left and right. Are we going? So it's Mary J. Blige, my life, my story, at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. May and July 2026 dates. So I believe in May. It's 1 through 1 2, 68 and 9, and July is July 10, 11, 15, 17, and 18, so that's exciting. Also, Joel Santana was involved in a car accident, guys. He shared photos of his facial injuries, but it sounds like he's okay. You know, people were kind of cooking him. He's like, who. Who posts a selfie right after a car accident because he had, like, cuts and scrapes in his face. But I'm just glad he's okay, man.
Ebro
I want to shout out to Jewels, man. He text after we ended our relationship over there at the last. At the last situation, he text and was. And supportive. So, you know, and I see him here, here from time to time, man. Get well, man. Take your time.
Rosenberg
And glad. Just glad it wasn't anything worse, man.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. All right, so Rihanna had people annoyed again. Let me tell you why. So there is this woman who posted this video of her kind of, like, in deep thought, and the caption said, deciding whether to get hot and sexy or get pregnant in 2026. Rihanna goes and comments and says, wait, so I'm not crazy then?
Rosenberg
Bet.
Ebro
Hilarious.
Laura Rosenberg
So they were like, no, not another baby. We want the album.
Rosenberg
Wait, she can't. Not enough. You can't drop another one, can you?
Laura Rosenberg
She's thinking about it.
Ebro
No, no, she. Listen, remember Rihanna said she wanted five kids, bro. And what. And what's stopping her from having five kids?
Laura Rosenberg
Wait, I never know. She put out a number.
Ebro
I swear. I saw an interview where she was like. She always dreamed of, like, having a large, and I thought she said a number, man. Maybe I. Listen, I apologize if I'm. If that didn't happen, but.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, she's at 3 right now. She got two boys and a little girl.
Rosenberg
Yeah, in fast time. I know the oldest is, like, four. If.
Laura Rosenberg
No, not even. I think, younger. Rosenberg.
Ebro
Well, no. And. And. And Rocky's album is this Friday or this Friday. Rocky's albums this Friday. I like punk Rocky. I like that record, Rocky.
Rosenberg
And.
Ebro
And he dropped another one yesterday. Helicopter.
Rosenberg
I got a peep.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
And listen, you know what I need to know from the chat? I want to start featuring, like, a song a day on this show just to keep y' all in tune with the music that's coming out out here. I reached out to Chance the rapper. He's. He's like, yo, I give y' all my whole catalog. Y' all can play whatever you want. I'm independent. I do what I want. I talked to French Montana, that Max B. French Montana project. I eat on it.
Rosenberg
Yeah, single's pretty dope.
Ebro
Singles dope Let me.
Rosenberg
From a. From a pop, like a commercially joint. That's a pretty good.
Ebro
Yeah, but there's some things on that, on that project that I really like. Who else did I speak to? Oh, Mass Appeal. Shout out to Mass Appeal. Mass Appeals. Like, yo, tell us what you need. Because for the audience, if you don't know, you got to get permission to play music when you're live on YouTube. But I want to make sure, you know, and then obviously we could do it on Patreon. We could do a straight music show for y'. All.
Rosenberg
Yeah, that would be the. The easiest way to do it, but.
Ebro
For the live people commuting in cars and all that. I want to get y' all a song, you know what I'm saying? Just to keep you in tune with some of these fire hip hop that's going on out here.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, let's get into the load.
Ebro
Oh, low down time.
Rosenberg
Oh, this is.
Laura Rosenberg
Slow down.
Rosenberg
All right. For more styles to get down. All the way down.
Ebro
Sean Thompson, 940 says shout out to the regular people in the chat too. Low down.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, now. So this is just some Bochinche, but I don't know if you guys seen. Anthony Anderson and Roxy Diaz were. Have been spotted hand in hand. A new little relationship. So they were leaving a Golden Globes after party, and they asked him and she. And he was pretty much like, she's my date for the evening. And he's like, we've been friends for a very long time, but there's definitely something going on.
Ebro
Now they're. They're saying just friends.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Ebro
And they were holding hands.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Rosenberg
They didn't fight Hardy, bro. They weren't fighting hard to convince anyone.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, they just don't want to admit it.
Ebro
Now listen, man. Shout to. Shout to great friendships. Yes, shout out to great friendships.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, guys, now this one is a doozy. And we've been so busy talking about everything else that this one was something that it's been brewing behind the scenes. And I know it was brewing behind the scenes. But yesterday, LA Reid settled his sexual assault accusation ahead of his trial. Now, remember the incredible woman, Drew Dixon?
Ebro
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
So we. We've interviewed Drew Dixon before.
Rosenberg
She did the documentary.
Laura Rosenberg
That's right. She did the documentary. And this woman has suffered a lot. Her story. And I encourage anybody who's tuned in right now, go look her up. She's an amazing woman. She was suing LA Reid and he was like, let's settle. Let's settle really quickly. They settled right before the Trial.
Rosenberg
Now, listen, it's crazy and it was.
Ebro
An undisclosed amount or something like that.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, undisclosed amount.
Rosenberg
I'll tell you what was disclosed. It was this.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations. You played yourself.
Ebro
Now, looking at the, at the, at the whole picture, right? Not saying that Drew Dixon is incorrect, but remember, sometimes people settle because trials cost more and it's public and I don't think there's a win. Even if you even like, for instance, like, even if you're to not get a settlement in your favor at or. Or in your favor as LA Reid. How is there an upside for LA Reid to take this all the way to trial and go to court with people on social media and all?
Rosenberg
There's not the. Congrats. The reason I'm hitting the button is why let it get to when it's the day of the trial.
Ebro
Oh, facts.
Rosenberg
Like just. Yeah, from the very beginning. Guys, there's been enough. I don't know LA Reid. I don't want to speak out of school. I know he wears some interesting robes and ish. That looks very suspect. But from all the things we've heard out there, bro, you knew you did not want to go through a trial and have people telling all the stories of things that you've done and parties you've been to and what you were. Why wouldn't you just spend the money up front? I guess maybe it's a lot and you're trying to avoid it, but.
Ebro
Or maybe that was the advice his lawyers gave him and then.
Rosenberg
But then they change their mind. Or maybe at the last minute he's like, I can't do this, this is crazy. And he. Over.
Ebro
Who knows? Yeah, we don't know.
Rosenberg
But.
Ebro
But I know a lot of times, you know, when people, when people don't go to trial and they settle for all of us in the regular world, it's like an admission of guilt. But sometimes it's. I just. There's just no upside here.
Rosenberg
Well, and that may be the case here is that he really doesn't think he did anything wrong, but that the stories in it are going to be so salacious anyway that. Why am I doing this? Yeah, but it looks even worse for some reason when it's day of. Yeah, it would have been way quieter if. From the beginning. Although you do it, if the day of you immediately hand over the money that looks really guilty.
Ebro
Listen, it's all bad and it's all the. Hit the button.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
It's not what you want. Let me go out on a limb here.
Button Sound Effect
None of this is what congratulations you played yourself.
Ebro
None of this is what you want.
Rosenberg
Yeah, no charges. No one trying to say that you sexually assault them is the ideal way to go.
Ebro
I'm being told that in our chat on YouTube. Thanks for the low. Is that all you have for the lowdown? That's the. That's Ms. Messi Styles in the lowdown.
Rosenberg
The low down. Oh, yeah.
Ebro
She takes us to hell. You go low, Laura goes lower.
Rosenberg
And I love it. That wasn't even bad, honestly. That was just news.
Ebro
I. I see people giving us Money on YouTube.
Rosenberg
That's part of the super fan thing or the super chat.
Ebro
Wouldn't it. Wouldn't it be better for them to just, like, once we get the Patreon going, just subscribe to the Patreon.
Laura Rosenberg
I. I think they're excited, though. This is. I don't know. I think it's dope, man.
Ebro
Listen, man, it's. I. I just want people to say. I just want people to use their money the right way. You know what I'm saying? I'd love to get. If you start a poll, Louie, see how many subscriptions we would actually get if we started a Patreon.
Rosenberg
Ebro.
Ebro
I know people are going to say. I know people are going to say it depends on the price, but, you know, Ebro.
Rosenberg
I say this completely respectfully, but when it comes to hopefully getting money from people, can I just.
Ebro
I suck.
Rosenberg
Normally tell you to set your ass up real quick.
Ebro
I'm terrible.
Rosenberg
He's like 25 cents a day.
Ebro
I will give them. Asking our listeners for money, man.
Rosenberg
Here's the perfect thing. We didn't ask.
Laura Rosenberg
We're not.
Rosenberg
But you don't have to fight them like, we're not. This is the thing people do. You're not a part of that culture.
Ebro
This is the thing people do. I'm not, man.
Rosenberg
So don't feel bad if it. Listen, we have a lot of people on this team who need to get paid, so if a few bucks come.
Ebro
What you're saying now is facts.
Rosenberg
So how about you sai bow and let. Let us do what we got.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes, yes.
Rosenberg
I. I feel you. It's a little odd. Makes me feel like an only fans model just a bit, but only fans. Listen, Louie, Bascom might have another kid by the time we get on Patreon.
Ebro
Oh, Bascom has another kid on the way.
Rosenberg
No, he might have another. I mean, another one after that.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, God.
Rosenberg
He's like Rihanna. He's the Rihanna of our show.
Laura Rosenberg
He's the Rihanna.
Rosenberg
He can't stop your man. Can't stop.
Ebro
Well, and they're both Caribbean too, bro.
Rosenberg
Coincidence.
Ebro
No, I. I need. We gotta. We may have to interview Ra Want this many kids. Was this a plan? Like, is this your idea? Is this your wife's idea? You guys on the same page? I got questions. Yeah, listen, like, at any point do you guys go, hey, this is getting expensive. Less him. Are we not concerned about the baby that's on the way? And the, and like, he's fascinating. Like, you guys are just so busy with the other four that the baby gets knowing like world.
Rosenberg
What about the fact that he's a converted Muslim, did all the studying in one moment, Turned his life from being ratchet in the streets to clean Muslim, man. And yet, but yet he still watches every trashy TV show on planet Earth.
Laura Rosenberg
It's, he's. He's the best person because it cracks me up. Like, just when you think things are like so bad. Who watches this? He's like, got you.
Ebro
How about this? He. He sent out a baby shower, like a registry the other day.
Laura Rosenberg
Uh huh.
Ebro
And was like, hey guys, you know, you know, here's my wife's, here's our registry. My wife put this, this together. Blah, blah, blah, blah, cop something. And, and you know, crack the joke about being unemployed. I forgot that he was having another kid. I was like, wait, is this the same kid that you told me about a few. Or is this another kid? I've lost track.
Rosenberg
You know how crazy it is when someone's having that many kids that you literally are like.
Ebro
And then.
Laura Rosenberg
I know.
Rosenberg
And then I, I can't even. Someone said to me at ESPN yesterday, he was like, oh, how you doing? I said, good. He said, yeah, man, these kids being sick, Haha. I said, yeah, it's tough. He went, yeah, I got three of them. I was like, hey man, that's. That's your thing. You got no one to blame but yourself, bro.
Ebro
Wait, Rosenberg, Y' all not going back?
Rosenberg
No, we are, but I. I guess, you know, like it's, It's a very, It's a very strange thing. Like, we are so.
Laura Rosenberg
Just had one.
Rosenberg
We. We're so in love. We're so in love with Maya and her birthdays in two days and, and we're sitting there crying every day about her turning one and all the things. And I know we want to do it again because the idea that this would be the last time we get to experience this is, is like impossible to imagine. But at the same time, you know, even in the good life that we have, this is so hard from and from every single standpoint imaginable that, like, I know everyone's like, yeah, you just keep rolling with the next one. It's no big deal.
Laura Rosenberg
But I'm like, it's a big deal.
Ebro
Listen.
Rosenberg
Feels big.
Ebro
Time management is a big deal. Scheduling is a big deal. Making sure that you're, like, giving attention, the attention that the children need and deserve is a big deal. These things are a big deal, and people just blow past them like it means nothing. Guys.
Rosenberg
Healing'S a big deal. Mentally, emotionally, your relationship not turning into nothing but work is a big deal. The space in your house is a big deal. The money that it costs to take good care of them.
Ebro
To your point. I was just. I was just talking about the children. You guys are talking about yourselves.
Rosenberg
Well, it's all. But it's all there.
Ebro
It's neat. You can't. You're right.
Rosenberg
You can't. Really? That's the thing that you. Yeah. Like, if you look at just the kids part feels manageable, everything.
Ebro
Well, no, but then people get addicted to the baby part, right? They get addicted to, like, a baby in the house. But the baby thing is over in 10, 12 months.
Rosenberg
So that's the thing. I was wondering, what is the logic, you know? And listen, Bascom, I don't want to get all up in his business, but this situation just kind of happened. But with people who are like, we're going to have. I want to have five babies. You know, that means Rihanna's young. When you're in your 60s, you're just dealing with five different adult personalities. And it's for the record, the thing that scares me as a paranoid Jewish person with who's always been a. A tune in tune with mental health stuff, I got. If you have five, one's probably crazy.
Ebro
The math batting average goes way down, bro.
Rosenberg
Ebro.
Ebro
I think after three, I think after two, the batting average start to slide because then you start to slide into middle child issues, and then you start to slide into other trauma where kids feel left out or they have this or they have that or they're not good enough. One kid's an overachiever, and the other kid just feels like, you know, I can't ever be.
Rosenberg
Yeah, the middle child thing, in practically every case in my life with the families I'm friends with or family I have, where there's three practically always middle child thing is real or one of them, if not middle child. It's very real. It scares me.
Ebro
Well, but the reason I. For you going after another One is because you're talking to the guy at espn. He's talking about three, you're going. Don't act like you're not gonna have. And Griff's talking about that. Griff is saying in their house. They're talking about going again.
Rosenberg
Well, listen.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, this shop is close.
Ebro
Rahsaan can't get a girl. He's got all boys.
Rosenberg
Well, guess what?
Ebro
I have. Yo. I have a friend that has four boys. Four boys. And they're giants. Yeah, they're giants. Six, six, six, four.
Laura Rosenberg
Eating up all the house.
Ebro
No, no, no, you can't. You have to go kill a cow. They have to go to the butcher and legit put whole cows in deep freezers to feed these animals.
Laura Rosenberg
The stories I hear from Ricardo growing up. Ricardo's one of five, and he's the middle. The stories I hear, I'm like, how. How did you guys do?
Rosenberg
I don't. I don't understand. And. And for the record, if you had, you know, all these people with. I need the other gender. If you have this. What you got, or.
Ebro
Yeah, yeah. No, I just want healthy. I never. I never cared.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Or. Or if you. Or if you go ahead and do it with doctor help, they can ensure that you get one. But not everyone has that situation like that.
Ebro
And for the fellas out there, you know, ladies want you to get to snip, snip. Now if you really want to stop getting her pregnant, ladies, you know, because the vasectomy is reversible, they can unplug your pipes and plug your pipes back up. Women don't have that luxury. When they go messing around with their innards, it's either.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, once it's over, it's over.
Rosenberg
I mean, I just heard. But I just heard from a good. A good friend of mine. I don't want to say his name based on what he said, but a good friend of mine who just wrote, I have five siblings. Three are crazy, and multiple have middle child.
Laura Rosenberg
Three are crazy.
Rosenberg
Wow.
Ebro
No, it's a real thing. Listen, before we wrap today, Ebro, Laura Rosenberg. Make sure you subscribe. Smash that subscribe button.
Rosenberg
Yeah, bro. Smash.
Ebro
You know what I'm saying? Put your notifications on. What are our subscriptions at right now?
Rosenberg
You know, see, I haven't checked.
Ebro
Out already.
Rosenberg
No, we're growing 44 on the nose. Oh, wow.
Laura Rosenberg
Last time I checked, it was 40. Oh, I love this.
Rosenberg
Yeah, it's 44 on the nose. It's growing day by day, you know? Listen, we got plans. I think it'll be very exciting when we start, you know, talking to guests and doing different kinds of content and we're together. I think it will see even more growth. But like this, this run, guys, I actually feel terrible because my, my ESPN show that I do every afternoon. Don Hanna Rosenberg on ESPN New York, they own, they got serious about YouTube like several months ago. The whole station started a YouTube channel and they started broadcasting every show on the YouTube channel. Yeah, a few. And we crushed the subs of the whole stations channel on our first day.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh wow.
Rosenberg
I just want to like really clearly let you know how real it is to get 44,000 in a couple of weeks. It's. Those are, those are real. That's real love and support. And I know there's still a lot of people we haven't found yet. There's no people, guys who are coming back like, yo, what the hell happened to Ebro? Laura Rosenberg.
Laura Rosenberg
Right, right.
Rosenberg
Because people don't listen every day.
Laura Rosenberg
So I've seen people leave comments like, can we get a podcast? I'm like, oh honey, it's up and it's popping.
Ebro
Podcast is up, it's popping out here. Like we gotta, you know, the net. The next phase is the, is the added content. Content where we start to supplement like Roseberg said, the interviews, music, commentary and things like that. A lot of stuff is on the way.
Rosenberg
Oh, and for anyone wondering, not that anyone cares, but if anyone's wondering, you know, I did Real Late Ebro. When Ebro first hired me on Hot 97, it was to do a late night underground show which had always been my dream, like a late night mix show. And I did it for 18 and a half years before I was unceremoniously dismissed. And I have now spent like whatever it is a month straight with no weekly radio show. And I, I just want everybody to know that will be changing soon. Announcements soon come Real late. Real Late will be continue.
Ebro
Put it on. Are you gonna put it on this channel now?
Rosenberg
We could have a conversation about, about the videos being on this channel.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Rosenberg
But no, there will be an audio home for Real Late. An audio home.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, okay.
Rosenberg
Like where people can drive around and listen, turn on a radio station and hear their favorite underground. You know what I mean? But no, we love that the video component we got to talk about because that's going to be there as well. But I just knew I needed, I need some place to have a radio. I have been on the radio since I was as you know, ibro. Like you and Laura, you're not far behind. Since I was 17 years old, I did my first shift at WMuch. I have never had a period that lasted more than, like, a few months. Once in 2005, where I wasn't on the box. So, like, I love podcasting. I love video. I love all of it. But that radio is something I always want to have for my music outlet. You know what I'm saying? So soon come.
Ebro
Well, let's get into it. It's time for the original gurus.
Rosenberg
Oh, yeah.
Ebro
You don't have your stuff?
Rosenberg
No, but I'd like. I think it's busy.
Ebro
Cross promotion.
Rosenberg
No, since we don't have an official guru intro yet. Ebro, we have to hit the harps. I'm gonna hit the heart for the harps are for the breathing. But in the meantime, we haven't seen one. Ebro doing the dance today. Come on, man.
Ebro
Nobody was really doing the dance today. Oh, no.
Rosenberg
Oh, there were people doing the dance yesterday. Laura and I talked about it. Wait, what happened?
Ebro
What happened?
Laura Rosenberg
Just do the dance.
Rosenberg
I don't want to. I'll tell you off the air. People we know and love.
Ebro
Are you guys taking shots? People we know crochet.
Rosenberg
People we know and love. We're doing the dance.
Ebro
Yeah, but maybe they're excited.
Rosenberg
I like that. Really help himself. If the music plays, he has to do the.
Ebro
Maybe they're really happy.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, let's focus.
Ebro
Hey, listen, man. Change is good, man. Change is good.
Laura Rosenberg
Breathe in, breathe out.
Rosenberg
I never knew E would have a dance I love so much. It's a crazy twist I never expected.
Laura Rosenberg
Let me burn some.
Ebro
I've been holding back. I've been holding back certain skills, you know, for this. This next chapter of my life.
Rosenberg
I love this. I love this for you. I love this for you.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, all right. Breathe in, breathe out. The original gurus. Gmail dot com.
Ebro
Zen.
Laura Rosenberg
The original gurus. Gmail.com. where you email us your problems, and we are here to save lives. Rosenberg. Who's out there? Who needs us? Who needs the original gurus?
Rosenberg
So many are in need, Laura. And they write us at the original gurusmail.com. the original gurusmail.com. That's a mold in there anyways. Greatest of morning gurus. I'd be remiss if I did not express my love and gratitude for you all, for bringing your energy and personality to YouTube after Massa took the strong vocal slaves of off the plantation. I said what? I said, oh, man. Here's my dilemma. I experienced a friendship death, meaning that we are no longer friends but they are alive. Lol.
Laura Rosenberg
I get it. I get it.
Rosenberg
Back in May and I have been ruminating on whether I was wrong for not accepting her yelling at me literally at a restaurant because I don't tell her everything. Quote regarding my day to day for context. We went to the restaurant to eat something quickly so that I could continue helping her move an apartment's worth of items after out of a storage space in one borough to her apartment in another borough. No compensation for gas, tolls, etc. Because I did not explicitly tell her that I have been having car trouble, hence me having a jack ropes, tire wrench, etc. In my trunk. She decided to have an adult tantrum in a public place because my trunk was not completely emptied to put all her stuff in. It didn't matter that I fit six large bins and two extra large boxes into a Honda crv. I did not yell back. Instead I repeated calmly that I am not going to argue her feelings, nor am I going to argue her truth. I did that to control myself from getting violent because she was drawing an audience. I even completed what I said I would do, moving her stuff in and making sure she was good in her apartment. Since then we have not spoken. She uninvited herself on a trip that she initially invited herself on that I took in July and has sent subliminal shots at me on social media.
Ebro
What?
Rosenberg
Yes, I have blocked her completely and restricted her on my pages. My question is, was I wrong to disconnect from her rather than argue with her? Should I have fought harder for a 10 year friendship? I am in my mid-40s and it's hard to make adult friendships at this time in life because of responsibilities in adulting. Do you have any suggestions on how to make healthy friendships? I have no interest in interacting with her again. I just want a different perspective on this experience. Thank you so much for being phenomenal. Ebro. Laura Rosenberg and producer Griff, loyal fan of this show.
Ebro
Appreciate you.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. Love you.
Ebro
Yo, listen man, I feel this lady 1000%. I hate when friends try to act like they need every detail of everything you got going on all the damn time, bro. Like, I don't. That's not me. I hate that. I hate it. And I hate when people try to make friendship work.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
Like are we friends? Yeah. Then we. It. There's, you know, we, we talk, we show love. But you know, if, if the schedules are working out, the schedules are working out. Schedules ain't working out. This guy. Well, no, you make time for people you care about, it's just like needy relationship. I hate it. I don't want it in my personal life. I don't want it in my friend life. I don't want it.
Laura Rosenberg
And just respecting people's boundaries. Like you were there, you were helping, you did all that. And, and for her to act that way is nuts. She seems very ungrateful. I think you did the right thing. I think sometimes, you know, some friendships run its course and that's okay. And when people start treating you like with no respect, it's okay to close that door.
Ebro
But Laura, isn't there something in Rosenberg speak to this too? You go to therapy more than all of us. Isn't there something to be said for the neediness of this friend and maybe some issues that this friend has? The way she's. You're yelling in a public place that's you're lashing out over like not me not checking in enough or not giving you details.
Rosenberg
Well, really what she was mad about is not there not being enough space in the car and she's lashing out for the reasoning behind it. But really she was just mad you didn't have more space in the car. Yes, there is more to it, I'm sure. However, I am normally much more than burn it down Styles. I am, I am much more a fight for the friendship kind of person. However, in this case, honestly, you met them in your 30s, bruh. I got friends who were at my first wedding in 2012 that I do not talk to anymore. They were a moment in my life. And there are the friends that ride the whole journey with you and there are some that come and go and it's, it's, it's. That is, I'm an emotional person, so I do find certain things about that sad. But the, what you described was so out of pocket. And then the follow up, rather than apologizing was uninviting herself from a trip and then taking shots at you. Now you good. You can find other friendships.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Rosenberg
And you can find, you know, I'm going to take the role of Ebro and Laura Styles here. Sign up for an activity you enjoy doing. You know what I mean? Meet friends of friends. Like, you know, I don't know.
Ebro
She's saying she doesn't have any friends.
Rosenberg
No, she just wants not many.
Laura Rosenberg
She just is interested in and discovering new people.
Ebro
Okay, fine. What, what Rosenberg said is great for discovering and meeting new people. How many friends do we actually need when people are like, yo, I got like, you know, this friend and 10 friends. 20 friends. These are my bestie, my bestie over here. I don't trust you. There's no way all these people are your besties. Stop it. Knock it off. They're not all your friends. You're a liar. You're needy too. Like, how many friends do you friends, like people you check in on with every week do you actually need.
Laura Rosenberg
Bro, I have a group of girlfriends that I talk to a lot. We have a child.
Ebro
But how many, Laura?
Rosenberg
It's not that many, though. I, I kind of know all your guys. Friends. Yeah, probably. I, I know people who have birthday parties that have 300 people. There I go. I don't know how you do this. I couldn't.
Laura Rosenberg
Fact.
Rosenberg
Possibly. No.
Ebro
Rosenberg, you could have a birthday party with 300 people, no problem. Strangers have a birthday party.
Rosenberg
They'd be straight. But they, what I'm saying is they'd be utter strangers.
Ebro
Like, they'd be, they'd be list people, not strangers. People watching right now. Record label people.
Rosenberg
I love, I love artists.
Ebro
Yeah, Family. Friends of family. Telling you, you can do it. Listen, man, next birthday, when's your birthday again? June.
Laura Rosenberg
What about July 23rd?
Ebro
300. We're doing a 3, 300 person birthday. Rosenberg, you're gonna slow it down.
Rosenberg
You're gonna struggle, bruh. So, yeah, I, I, I think you, I think you've done enough. I think you, I don't think you did the wrong thing. That's wild behavior for an adult to scream at you while. And for the record, let me hit you with the button. Hold on. This lady.
Button Sound Effect
Congratulations. You played yourself.
Rosenberg
You're in your mid-40s. Ain't no helping anyone move anymore. It's over. Nah. Nope, I'll. Oh, wait, you need me to. You need to put a suitcase in my. You could put one suitcase in my car, no problem. I am not showing up at your house and carrying things downstairs in my mid-40s for you. Call me Bougie. Send an email. Ebro Laura rosenbergmail.com. give me the requisite Rosenberg's Bougie Friday email. I'm good with it.
Ebro
The Friday fry up.
Rosenberg
The Friday fry up. I do not move people and I don't ask anyone to move me. And, and, and I am not moving you folks.
Ebro
I will find you money if you, if you ask me to help you move and you're really a friend. I'll find. I'll give you money. Yeah, I'd rather the movers for you.
Rosenberg
I'd rather lend you the money or give you the money. To pay for the mover.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
Actually show up and risk tearing another meniscus going up and down the stairs at 46 years old. Lady, what are we doing? Come on.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, all right. So grab the light of Rosenberg. You do the honors.
Ebro
Oh, here we are. It's blood in the water.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Fry, keep it fried up. Burn it down. So say the original.
Ebro
Just don't call it a podcast. Give me the clothes out music. Rosenberg. Yeah, man, I need to keep roll. Rosenberg band.
Laura Rosenberg

The Ebro, Laura, Rosenberg Show Episode 13: HOT 97’s New Morning Show + Trump Dementia (1/13/26) Date: January 13, 2026
This episode marks a new era for Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg as they embark on their own live morning show after leaving HOT 97. The trio delivers a dynamic mix of topical conversation, social commentary, and life updates—balancing serious news (NYC nurse strike, ICE raids, political analysis) with personal anecdotes and entertainment news. They address their exit from HOT 97, discuss the current high-stakes political climate (including Trump’s purported dementia and potential ramifications), and weigh in with observations about inequality, family life, and the NYC housing grind. As always, their tone is candid, irreverent, passionate, and engaged with their listeners.

Then they were like, all right, you could go. After the trauma and the violence.” – Laura (20:10) “...they picked [a teenager] up in the parking lot, took him.
