Weather was pretty decent around the way, but now you might be waking up in the Tri State area to mass amounts of rain at least for the next hour. And then supposed sun's supposed to come out later, but the amount of water that was coming out the sky right now was like. It was like car wash levels. Yes, it was car wash.

You know what I mean? So it was. It was an interesting night and morning. Because it was doing this all night, right?

Or at least this early, early part of the day from like 3am Because I woke up and heard the. The rain hitting against the window and I remembered that Jazz had put Selassie's shoes outside to dry.

So I had to go get those. That was early this morning. But anyway, let's get into the week or the weekend that was. I had a good weekend this morning. Laura, how was your weekend?

It was good. Hung out with the fam. Hit a pool. That's it. Just kind of random out.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hit a park, too. Had a little gathering with friends at. At Fort Green Park. It was. It was light but nice.

It was. It was nice on Saturday. Saturday was really nice. Little bit of humidity on Saturday. Yesterday was nice, but once again, humid. Put up some miles on the bike with the squad over the weekend, though. Let's see the big headlines. Were everybody talking about this FIFA thing with the Trump family and, you know, different soccer organizations saying they're not going to support FIFA on this endeavor, which is great to see. Lots on Trump doodling himself at Lindsey Graham's funeral. I don't know if you guys saw those videos.

I did, but I don't. Sometimes I don't know if they're. You know what I mean?

What it actually is the one where it's like the.

I guess the CIA agent that's next to him and his face just like.

Yeah, there was one that looked kind of stunned and normal. And then people took it. Then people took the original video and went far with the AI Right. That. That was. That was a thing. Also, speaking of Trump, the people who allegedly vandalized the. The. What is it called? The reflecting pool in D.C. have been exonerated. Charges dropped, I think is a term I saw.

Thanks, Lou. And Trump's pissed, which points to the fact of his. His ineptitude with regard to getting the pool done in the first place. And don't we. Isn't it common knowledge that Trump paid one of his buddies, who had no ref, who had no expertise in this area, and basically gave him 15 million to do some hodgepodge? Yes, I thought this was common knowledge.

That's what I thought. So how did they blame somebody for vandalizing? That's what I don't understand.

Someone had to get blamed.

So I'm gonna be Trump Arando got blamed for it.

And then they got cleared because obviously they didn't do it.

No, I know we're living in it, but it's like, I can't get up here, you know, you guys know I go through periods of this. If you've been paying attention to it, acting like I give a shit is, like, really, really, really hard. Like, it's like, you know, I turn on the news this morning, Trump was gonna bomb Iran more, but nope, they're having a meeting at noon. What?

The reporting on this. They do this every time. It's like, I can't understand how they keep falling into this clown show. Every time, it's the same report. He does this every two weeks.

There was a video circulating of Marco Rubio basically saying that you can't come to the United States if you got anything bad to say about Israel. Did you guys see this video circulating?

Marco never ceases to amaze me. This may have been his most iniquitous statement yet.

President Trump, the United States will stand with the Jewish people.

What? We wasn't standing with them before. And when you say Jewish, I know you mean Israel.

We have implemented a vigorous new visa policy that will prevent foreign nationals from coming to the United States to foment. Hatred against our Jewish community. We are holding international organizations and nations accountable for rhetoric against Israel.

So we now banning people from traveling to America if they talk shit about our greatest liability so people can move goo vibe slide if they talking mad about us mashing about the President. But as soon as they talk about the blue and white ban can't come through, can't pull up out the color peroxide. That sounds insane. It also sounds like America really is not the main priority in this country

Abraham Accords ain't going to do. They have nukes now and still won't let anybody in the world know they've had them for 50 plus years and somehow that country is the only one that doesn't have to let anybody know.

Have to tell you that the real problem is are Jews. Jews at the in the Upper west side, Jews in the Upper east side, Jews in Park Slope? The Jews who voted for mom? Danny, remember 7,000 Jews voted for Adolf Hitler in 1932. Most of them ended up in the gas chambers.

And if I were to say those same things immediately labeled anti Semite, I would have been banned cooked. Well, and that last person talking there was Alan Dershowitz, who is a Jewish guy. Big, big Epstein guy too, by the way, all over the files. And he goes on to call Jews who supported Mom Donnie stupid and Jews in Park Slope and these other areas around New York City dumb idiots.

Look, the vaccines were killing people. You guys were in denial and pushing the vax, and it's your, you know, your fault. You're part of the problem. What, what, what am I saying? And I just had this conversation like earlier, cuz people were just like, yo, hey, you know, it came out that the vax has killed some people. News flash. Nothing is one size fits all.

We talked about it at the time.

Peanuts can kill people. Tylenol and, you know, penicillin. But then there's the number of people who have lived because of it. So. But it's like people cannot think in a broader term.

Or they don't want to, which is, you know, good luck. Good luck to you. Which is also back to why I'm over. I, you know, like, who. Who are we talking to? Who are we dealing with? I'm not debating you losers anymore. Like, you can't even. And this is where I start to, like, sound super elitist and like, super like, bro, sometimes you're talking to people who can't do the basics in life. Like, you don't have the basics together. Like home ownership, paying taxes, taking care of your children, having health care. Like, these are basic things. Why am I talking to you?

You feel me? Like, I can't take. I can't take you serious. I. If you can't. At my old age, at 51, I can't take you serious. When you can't take care of yourself and you can't even take care of your fan, I can't take you serious. Sorry. Yeah, so sometimes it's like, bro, you're arguing with people, they're sending you things. I'm looking at your life and I'm like, you have no credibility with me because your life's not in order, bro. Like, it's just not in order. You're not prepared. You're not prepared. You are talking to me about something that's clearly just. You just can't grasp. And I get it. Vaccines are scary and vaccines have killed people. You know what I'm saying? But when you have a global pandemic taking place, right? And you have mismanagement going on at the federal government level and you have something so mismanagement already took place at the government level.

And so people were playing catch up, trying to figure out a solution. For most people, it wasn't going to work for all people.

Right.

Some people were going to die. And then there's people who just once again, weren't taking care of themselves and already were sick, unbeknownst to them, and they took something that made them worse.

[Laura Stiles]

Yeah. And scientists are not magicians. They lead with hypothesis. They lead with the data that they have at that moment, specifically where you're dealing with a pandemic that's changing every minute.

[Ebro Darden]

But even when I hear the conviction in your voice, Laura, of you trying to explain it, you're wasting your breath, you're wasting your energy.

It's just.

It's a waste.

Oh, my head hurts.

It's a complete waste. And people are going to make decisions that are best for them and their family. You know, I mean, my encouragement at the time was mostly based on people who needed to keep employment. Now there were people who decided to sue and say, hey, I'm not taking the vax. And they sued, and some of them were able to get their jobs back. A lot of them got nothing. A lot of them got nothing. Some state employees and union workers did, but there was other people who didn't have that. So if you wanted to keep making money and you wanted to stay in the game, you had decisions you had to make.

Yeah.

[Ebro Darden]

You had to do it. And I wasn't gonna. I'm not gonna get up here and tell you to not do something like that. Could potentially keep food on the table and the roof over your head.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I'm not gonna be the one to do it. And so you got to be able to make those decisions for yourself. And so hopefully you did make the best decision for yourself. I had, you know, look, my brother almost died. You know what I'm saying?

Yeah.

And I was a. I was angry, too. My brother has Ms. And he takes drugs that suppress his immune system, which means he does not have an immune system, basically. And the doctors at the time were like, oh, well, we don't know what's going on. You know me, I'm screaming. What do you mean, you don't know what's going on? He doesn't have an immune system. And so no matter. Even if you give him the vaccine, he's not going to be. His body's not going to make antibodies. It's not going to happen.

Yeah.

And so they gave him the vaccine. He started getting Better. Then he got worse again, then he got better and now he's all good.

Yeah.

And he continues to have to get the vaccine and he has to get flu shots and these other things because he doesn't have an immune system.

Right, right, right, right.

You know what I'm saying? So he's got to protect himself. That's going to be the solution for some people. There's other people who have phenomenal immune systems. They can get Covid bounce back, their body's going to learn the virus, they never got the virus vaccine and they're good to go. Yeah, but that's not going to work for everybody.

Well, yeah, nothing is. One taste fits all, you know, I

mean, so you know, and I, and also, look, I'm one of the people who don't trust the government, like, never have. But some of this is just science. Some of this is just understanding what's best for you, what's not best for you. Talking to your daughter and knowing what your body is all, I mean, talk to your doctor and knowing what your body's about. So, you know, like I'm saying, I'm over it. I'm over trying to convince yo. Why Tucker Carlson left the Republican Party and said that he would be tormented for the rest of his life over the fact that fact that he voted for Trump. Don't twist yourself into a pretzel trying to imagine these people having a sudden change of heart. The reason why these people are fleeing the ship is because they have the most to lose. Unlike elected officials, these people are not collecting a government salary. Their careers survive on parasocial relationships built through the MAGA community. These people I mentioned above, they have the dashboards that show the data that the New York Times just published today. They aggregated the collective views of 12 of the most popular right wing influencers. Influencers. And what they found was that these people have lost in some cases more than half of their audience in just 12 months. This includes people like Benny Johnson, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson and Charlie Kirk. It's really seen a mysterious drop off some of These individual creators were getting close to 30 million views per week just last spring, but as of right now, some have dropped by up to 86% in weekly views. These people are desperate to stay relevant, but they know that 12 months from now, relevancy will not fly flow through MAGA. They're looking at the views, they're reading the comments, and most importantly, they're looking at all the brand deals they are not signing and all the bank accounts that just aren't replenishing like they used to. If I just attended trending up, the MAGA sphere should be rebranded to trending Down. So when people tell you that MAGA creators are turning on Trump, do not be mistaken. But I'll tell you, like, as a mom, like your kid sees you putting on stuff, they want to be like you. Like, I use like these under eye patches and Kenza wants to do it. So I just cut Some out of a paper towel and wet it, and I put it on her face so she feels like she's a part of it, but it's nothing. It's literally a wet paper towel that I'm putting on her face.

But, yeah, I recall one of the mothers saying something about, like, the price of things. Like, hey, you know, I'll let her put some stuff in a basket, and then I'll review what's in the basket, just to kind of like, like you said, make them feel like they're doing something without actually them doing too much.

But it gets very expensive.

Like, bro, yeah, Sephora, bro.

It's expensive. So that's the big discussion. Some moms are like, hey, if it's not harming them, you should let them be. You be. Be a part of their skincare routine. Let them live. And then other people are like, they don't need that. They're too young.

Right? Well, interestingly enough. So all these years, Christmas and birthdays, Issa has never put together, like, a list of items that she wanted.

This was the first. First year she put together, like, a literal list, okay, of like, I want this backpack. I want, you know, these. I want to. She wanted a ring. I told her when she was 12, she could get a second piercing in her ear. So we're going to get the second piercing in the ear.

She wanted a new phone case because, you know, we talked about the fact she got a phone a few months ago. She's been doing really good with that. Okay.

She woke up the other day talking about, daddy, I got abs. It was showing the whole Live on shirt. Showing the whole family a little two pack. But I tell you what, right now, if you're between the ages of 18 and 30 in New York City, city, you're having a phenomenal summer, man. Yeah, you're having a phenomenal summer. You know, programs for kids. People are trying to find solutions to things. It's. The mayor's just not out here just delivering problems and chaos all the time. When he's confronted with people trying to be negative, he defuses it and really points to the work that needs to be done. The work, the work, the work that needs to be done.

People are finally feel seen. That's really what it is. Like, I've seen people saying, like, for once, I feel like somebody is listening to me. People are trying to make him the villain.

And I was gonna say, and I'm seeing him actually go door to door to regular citizens of the city to like, announce different things that he. He's doing and things like that. So they have the knowledge of what's going on. Like, the mayor of New York City is going door to door to residents.

And then, by the way, even if that's marketing and narrative shaping and all of that, phenomenal marketing, phenomenal narrative. Better than the other options that we've had. See people going at him trying to continue to make it negative, negative, negative, and him trying to go positive, positive, positive. There's definitely young people out here who want to do something positive, and we just gotta help those young people stay focused on doing something positive.
