Just don't call it a podcast.
Rosenberg
The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show.
Ebro
Okay, okay, listen, ladies and gentlemen, it's the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show. How you guys feel about the new graphic package?
Laura
Fire looks dope.
Ebro
Way to go. I think somebody's phone is on or something. Rosenberg, your phone is playing audio. What were you watching?
Rosenberg
No, no, it might be me having the. Oh, I'm pushing the wrong button on the iPad so I can see what's happened in the chat.
Ebro
Oh, God.
Rosenberg
They switched the volume button. It's the. It's the wrong button.
Ebro
The graph is down and left is up.
Rosenberg
The graphics look hard, bruh.
Ebro
You like it?
Laura
I like it.
Rosenberg
I like it better like that than actually any other time I've even seen it. It looks good as a. As the backdrop. That was hard.
Laura
Yo, look, it matches my outfit.
Rosenberg
And Laura. Matt, you know, Laura got coordinate and.
Ebro
That'S why we got it that color. Laura, because you always wear black.
Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
Figured it would always match out very vampires.
Rosenberg
You know, the black and the red. The blood thing.
Ebro
Hey, listen, make sure you like. Make sure you subscribe. Make sure you tell a friend to tell a friend we're here every day, 8 o' clock to run through the going zones in the world. Hip hop our lives. It's the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show. Last night was a busy night, huh? Shia LaBeouf got beat up in the streets, bro. Some random streamers getting knocked out multiple times at the same event. Rosenberg still got a wild hair up his tail about Vlad.
Rosenberg
Yeah, I'm still annoyed about that. The Shia thing I feel bad about, I think that was two nights ago. But the video dropped yesterday.
Laura
Listen, wait, because I have that on the rundown.
Rosenberg
Oh, you want to save it? All right, all right, so we'll get to that. But I do feel bad about that. The streamer. I don't need to start my day with someone I've never heard of who has the great in his name. I can't intentionally starting fights like, you know how much it triggers me to remind me that the way people get popping now and start to build a following to do what is considered to be like successful broadcasting in. In 2026 is just to go to parties and try to get punched in the face. I know like, you know how.
Ebro
That he's a boxer. He's a boxer, though. I think he's got. He's got a one and O record.
Rosenberg
Oh, oh, a boxer. We've heard lots of boxers with one and oh records.
Ebro
Yeah. And now we've heard of him. I was telling the team off, off the air before we came on. I think his strategy is to troll his way into an undercard of some significance. Right. Because if he's got a following, he's got reach. Maybe he'll get an undercard. Maybe he'll get one of those Jake Paul undercards one day.
Rosenberg
And this is the era we live in where if any. Any. If you show any ability to get eyeballs online.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
It's a way to jump the line.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
And get an opportunity to be somewhere you probably otherwise shouldn't be.
Guest/Contributor
Yeah.
Ebro
So get punched in the face a few times.
Laura
I'm with you. It's also stupid.
Rosenberg
It's. This is just we. It's.
Ebro
You guys are just, you know, we're.
Rosenberg
Hanging on to the past. That's right.
Ebro
You guys need to evolve, man.
Rosenberg
Yeah. This is where we are now.
Ebro
Get punched in the face. It shows our subscriptions skyrocket.
Rosenberg
It is kind of worth it when you think about it, though. I mean, it's light work.
Ebro
It's light work. A little. A little slump. Gets slumped real quick by, you know. Well, he got slumped by like Power lifter.
Rosenberg
That's the. That's the. The. The angle he was using was I'm going to get knocked out by really big guys. Like, that's going to look more. Should we look at this?
Ebro
Let's have a look. We're signing it.
Rosenberg
Time.
Laura
Oh, God.
Ebro
Don't do. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey. Don't disrespect this. Respect nobody.
Laura
This.
Ebro
This around. Think I'm going to be respectful. Hey, he's been. He's been mad. Did you get the address? I got the address. Hey, hey, don't be mad.
Rosenberg
Disrespect.
Ebro
Come on, man.
Rosenberg
Listen, I know we streaming hands, bro. This.
Ebro
You ready for them?
Rosenberg
100 gifted. 200.
Ebro
Listen, you ready for 200 gifted? Oh, D. Getting on. Yeah. Yeah. De.
Rosenberg
Hey, that was a hard slap.
Ebro
Me. That was a hard ass slap.
Rosenberg
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
Ebro
Rampage is in on it.
Laura
That was a crispy slap.
Ebro
Rampage is in on it.
Rosenberg
Everybody's in on it. Like, well.
Ebro
And it's promo even for the Power Lifter. You hadn't heard of that guy before he smacked that other guy.
Rosenberg
Still haven't, but yeah, to your point.
Ebro
Yeah, people know him now, but he's clearly there.
Rosenberg
There's the thing I don't understand. These cats are just rolling up to parties with the camera on.
Ebro
Yes.
Rosenberg
And they just. You haven't seen this happen in real life.
Ebro
In real life, you haven't seen a streamer show up to an event, streaming.
Laura
I've seen.
Rosenberg
Been to a party. I've been to a party at someone's, like, a. A place in so long.
Ebro
Well, I haven't. I haven't done it in that scenario. But what. I've showed up to events and I'm like, yo, this person's just.
Laura
Yeah.
Ebro
On streaming live, right?
Laura
Yeah. I've seen a person walk around with their phone and just like, you know, and talking and showing. But I haven't seen the whole.
Ebro
I haven't seen it at somebody's residence, but I'm sure it had. Same way. That's an event. People have showed up to an event is, you know, it's in coverage. That's. It's interesting.
Rosenberg
It's interesting, and it's not even good. That's the thing. It's like, I don't. I'd respect it. Like, I would respect it. The young Rosenberg would respect. If you like, we're like, hey, now that it's acceptable to stream, I bring out the camera. I got a microphone. I'm doing a show. I'm doing interviews. And if people don't want to do it, it's a no. I leave them alone. But I'm gonna try to get interviews because it's.
Ebro
But that's happening, too.
Rosenberg
But this.
Ebro
That's also happening.
Rosenberg
And they're just walking around and going up in people's faces with camera.
Ebro
Most people are not doing this where they're trying to antagonize people or. Or, you know.
Rosenberg
Oh, and with that. Let's see that, too.
Ebro
But that's scripted.
Rosenberg
Let's see part two, shall we?
Ebro
That's scripted.
Rosenberg
I have enough scripted fighting in my life, thank you. I'm all set. And I love it. But it's. It's. That's. It's. It's a real thing. It's real scripted.
Ebro
I don't know you, but I don't like your attitude.
Rosenberg
I don't like your fucking tone.
Stephen Colbert
I don't like you at all, though.
Laura
Yeah, yeah.
Ebro
Straight up. What? I said straight up. Are you the guy that got slapped on video? I did, but I'll slap the. Out.
Laura
You know, I'm gonna show you the inside of the hat.
Rosenberg
No, I'll put you.
Ebro
I'll make you another clip. Don't do that.
Rosenberg
Seriously.
Ebro
I'll do that.
Laura
All right.
Ebro
Come on, come on, come on. All.
Rosenberg
The.
Ebro
Chill, man.
Laura
He gonna sleep me.
Rosenberg
Chill. Bro.
Laura
Ho.
Ebro
Ass.
Rosenberg
Hey, let me talk ass.
Ebro
I think Rampage. Rampage getting money with. Has to be.
Rosenberg
Why are you inviting this person in your house? And now we're talking about Rampage Jackson. When was the last time you did that? When his son almost killed someone. That was the last time anyone mentioned Rampage Jackson. Damn.
Laura
My God.
Rosenberg
Son. His son is a wrestler and literally almost killed someone in the ring.
Ebro
But not.
Rosenberg
No intentionally trying to harm the person.
Ebro
It was.
Rosenberg
It was one of the most vile things you'll ever see.
Ebro
Really?
Rosenberg
Oh, awful. Awful. Getting charged ramp out. Rampage said all the right things afterwards. He was disgusted by it and like said the right stuff. But my point is it's not how.
Ebro
You want to be.
Rosenberg
And why we. And. And people just want to be talked about in any old way. So.
Ebro
You know, people do want to get hot out here, man. It's tough times for some people. They got to get hot. They want to get to the bag.
Rosenberg
No, listen, it's tough times for us. Look what we do. Put together a nice program.
Ebro
Listen, we had to throw a program together for a few weeks.
Rosenberg
But we're out.
Ebro
We're.
Rosenberg
We're not fighting people in the street trying to get.
Ebro
Yeah. Depending on where we see where this thing go. Subscribe, please.
Rosenberg
We don't want to do this.
Ebro
Subscribe now.
Rosenberg
By the way, the Ebro brand, if he rolled around like seeing all the people who've had things to say over the years, just showing up at people's things, walking up, up on people, we. It would go great.
Laura
We don't need that.
Rosenberg
We'd be hot outside though.
Ebro
You think so?
Rosenberg
Oh, what I'll do. And I'll do the commentary on them.
Ebro
They can pull up here to our new facilities. To the facilities.
Rosenberg
They ain't going to do that.
Ebro
What do you guys like? Is it title the New Stew or the Facilities?
Rosenberg
A facility sounds like a bathroom.
Laura
I know.
Rosenberg
The facility sounds nuts.
Ebro
It's way nicer than a bathroom.
Rosenberg
Way nicer than a bathroom is fine.
Ebro
You like the stew? Yeah. You're into the Stew. In other news, ladies and gentlemen, Colbert. Last night was the big story.
Laura
Yeah.
Ebro
So apparently the lawyers at CBS reached out to. Matter of fact, do we have Colbert talking about this? Why am I recounting the whole thing? Let's just let Stephen say his part.
Stephen Colbert
Who is not one of my guests tonight. That's Texas State Representative James Talarico. He was supposed to be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms by our network's lawyers who called us directly that we could not have him on the broadcast. Then. Then I was told in some uncertain terms that not only could I not have him on, I could not mention me not having him on. And because my network clearly doesn't want us to talk about this, let's talk about this. You might have heard of this thing called the equal Time Rule, okay? It's an old FCC rule that applies only to radio and broadcast television, not cable or streaming. That says if a show has a candidate on during an election, they have to have all that candidate's opponents on as well. On January 21st of this year, a letter was released by FCC chairman and smug bowling pin Brendon Carr. In this letter, Carr said he was thinking about dropping the exception for talk shows because he said some of them were motivated by partisan purposes. Let's just call this what it is. Donald Trump's administration wants to silence anyone who says anything bad about Trump on TV because all Trump does is watch tv, okay? He's like a toddler with too much screen time. He gets cranky and then drops a load in his diapers. So it's no surprise, it's no surprise that two of the people most affected by this threat are me and my friend Jimmy Kimmel.
Rosenberg
So Talarico, by the way, has a real chance at winning in Texas.
Ebro
That's what they're saying. And isn't there another clip we have of Talarico with Colbert? There was like a YouTube intro that they put up because I think ultimate they ended up, or at least Colbert ended up putting the interview out on YouTube.
Laura
It's all over the place, right?
Ebro
Sounds, I mean, listen, and Colbert's out of there in May, I think, right?
Rosenberg
Maybe bring them into the facilities.
Ebro
Let's see if we'll come to the facility. You like the facility, don't you?
Rosenberg
No, I like it right now though.
Laura
This is so. Okay, let's play this.
Stephen Colbert
James Talarico. Now here's the thing. I don't usually say this to a guest, but if people are watching this right now, it's because they found us online on YouTube. I did an act of the show that's on tonight explaining why it's not the first time you've caused some drama. FCC opening probe into the View after appearance by Talarico. Do you mean to cause trouble?
Rosenberg
I think that Donald Trump is worried that we're about to flip Texas. Wait a second. I'm concerned. Are you telling me that there was a political thing that happened on his show? His bosses told him to make it go away.
Laura
Uh huh.
Rosenberg
And now he dropped it on his own. Yeah. Oh, I know how this plays out.
Laura
Exactly. That's what I said. This is exactly what happened to us.
Rosenberg
This is gonna be.
Ebro
That's what you want, man. That's how you get down.
Laura
And then Colbert was the one who.
Rosenberg
Aired our clip of Cuomo, ironically, he was the one who loved that clip, man.
Ebro
Hey, Colbert, pull up, man. You know we're on YouTube. You'll be with us just one day.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Come on.
Ebro
You'll be over here with us, by the way. And it's a great place to be, I gotta tell you, on YouTube. I'm very. I'm very happy about the community. If you look at the numbers we're doing. I was doing some comparisons last night.
Rosenberg
Never seen this before, by the way, the level that you're digging into numbers. Once Ebro got on the radio, he never looked at a number again. Now he's fully back in the numbers.
Ebro
Because I got to do the business part.
Rosenberg
I know, I like it. No, you can actually see what's going.
Ebro
On when I do the business part.
Rosenberg
You get. You get serious.
Ebro
I get into the analytics. I started big on analytics, big on metrics.
Rosenberg
Yeah, it's moneyball over here. This guy's in.
Laura
You know, it's.
Rosenberg
He's in.
Ebro
But no, I was doing some comparison. I want to shout out to everybody out there that's supporting us. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, I don't think programs really grow as fast as we've had the honor of growing. And obviously, we have the. The benefit of coming off the momentum of a show that was highly successful. That was. Was decided by the people who owned the microphones, that they didn't want us anymore. So it wasn't like we had seen our demise.
Rosenberg
No, we hadn't.
Ebro
We were at the height of our heights.
Laura
Right.
Rosenberg
That's. I mean, listen, I had a different text every week telling us that when a new record had been set about where we'd been taking the station.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
So it wasn't that. So you're right. We do have an advantage coming in, obviously.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
But that doesn't mean you're going to take advantage of it. In fact, I had a call yesterday with someone at my agency about, like, general. My people wanted me to meet their podcast person.
Ebro
Wanted to meet your people.
Rosenberg
So I chatted with him, and I was telling about what we're doing.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
And he, like, opened up the page while we were talking, and he was like, listen, obviously, I'm not diving all the way in, right? Now, but based on what I'm seeing, what you guys are doing, this is the way to do it. If you want it to work, the volume and the consistency, this is how you do it.
Ebro
This is how it's.
Rosenberg
We already know people like the offering that we have because people have already liked the offering. In fact, we have a super chat where people reach out to us.
Ebro
Oh, talk to them. Shout them out.
Rosenberg
Shout out to the stop. Who hit us early on, which just wanted to give us a bunch of money and just say, let go.
Ebro
What is the stop?
Rosenberg
We don't know. It's at the stop.
Ebro
Well, whatever you do, it sounds like you're selling something. Maybe we need to help you sell more things so you could give us more money.
Rosenberg
Then Marvin said, I'm surprised Ebro didn't talk about curling.
Ebro
Oh, I'm missing Curly.
Rosenberg
It's got to be going on right now. We're middle.
Ebro
Wait, Yo. There was an incident with a curler, wasn't it? Yeah.
Rosenberg
U.S. canada, I think. What happened?
Ebro
I don't know. I just remember seeing a headline with a curler standing up for Griff.
Rosenberg
Find the curling. Find the curling.
Ebro
Yeah, the curl curler out of Wisconsin or something.
Rosenberg
I don't know.
Ebro
He was talking that talk that needed to be talked.
Rosenberg
Cleans Haven said original logo was better designed, but I like the red.
Ebro
Okay.
Rosenberg
Thank you, Cleans Haven.
Laura
We like this one.
Rosenberg
Yeah. BNA said Rosenberg. Talarico looks like Bob Backlin. Lol. No, you're not wrong. He does give a little bit of Bob Backlin. And Bob Backlin was, you know, kind of a political character on tv, so it makes sense.
Ebro
I like Talarico is Backlin. What are you saying, Lou?
Guest/Contributor
The stop is where the Ms. Jones conversation happens.
Ebro
Oh, shout out to the style.
Rosenberg
He's trying to get in the combo.
Ebro
Hey, man, thanks for the coverage.
Laura
He's a little bit of a hater because he'd be coming for you.
Ebro
A word.
Laura
Yeah.
Ebro
And then throw. He's trolling. He's like the guy getting smacked in the video.
Rosenberg
He wants to show up and get smacked.
Laura
Yes. Yeah. So that's why I was like, yeah, don't send me.
Rosenberg
Don't send me there early in the day.
Ebro
Why?
Rosenberg
Why?
Ebro
Why is that? Why? Listen. Oh, if you tune into the Patreon, I think the Ms. Jones clip is great for the page.
Rosenberg
No, we'll hit that on the Patreon. I want. I want to play the clip, and I want to talk about it, because there's things that need to be talked about.
Ebro
Yeah, well, look, first of all, Ms. Jones I consider a friend. Second of all, Ms. Jones is out here trying to get clicks just like the. She is click farming, bro.
Rosenberg
Yeah, absolutely.
Laura
I just, you know, one thing I find really interesting about Ebro is that he considers a lot of people friends.
Rosenberg
Who don't want him, who don't treat him like a friend.
Laura
And I'm looking.
Ebro
No, they treat me like a friend behind the scenes. I just know that. I just know that they go out here and click for him. That's all.
Rosenberg
It's a. It's a no. His Ebro's approach to things, for the most part, I believe is the right way to do it. I don't agree with the actual sentiment.
Ebro
Well, but you guys think that like when I say like a friend, I mean a friend at work, a friend in the business for somebody I know in the business who I'm friendly with and if I needed them do something for me, they do it.
Rosenberg
They pro. Right, right.
Laura
And you will always do something for them.
Ebro
Yeah.
Laura
If they ask you the question, I still, you know how I am. I'd be looking at people sideways and I just don't understand how you can when someone helps you. And Eber has helped people behind the scenes without saying anything so much.
Rosenberg
Yeah.
Laura
You will go on a microphone and talk. Ish. I do not.
Ebro
Well, it was a backhanded compliment too. Well, first of all, the Mr. Well, no, the M. Well, same for Patreon. But A, it was a backhanded, complicated compliment. B, it was also just historically incorrect.
Rosenberg
Oh my God, it was so incorrect. And that's the part that I'm hot about. Is she just. My whole existence didn't even happen. They just skipped over years and years of time to be like, I've always been number one. It was, it was delusional. But save a Patreon because. Hold on now the super chat's heating up real quick. Let's see me sound like my. What up?
Ebro
What up?
Rosenberg
Sheed says. So is my merch now outdated? Now that logo, the original logo is sticking around and part of the whole thing. This is the Stu logo.
Ebro
Well, and so just for everyone, we were trying to do was find a logo that can be seen from far away. Cuz we got plans.
Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro
And the other logo, while we loved it, it was just harder to see from a distance.
Rosenberg
Sure.
Ebro
And so we have plans that involve you being able to see what we're doing from a distance.
Rosenberg
Right, that does. But the other logo. The other logo is part of the portfolio that's right. It's not. That's not. No, it's not.
Ebro
You actually have a collector's eye.
Rosenberg
And now you have the original.
Ebro
The original. That's right.
Laura
I want to give a shout out to Mark Parolini. Now, Mark is a fat.
Ebro
Yeah.
Laura
But he's been going through dialysis.
Rosenberg
Oh, man.
Laura
And he reached gu. I got so many beautiful messages yesterday from people who. Again, who. People are going through cancer in the hospital and thanking us because they listen to us while getting their treatments.
Ebro
Oh, man, I'm glad we could be there for y'.
Rosenberg
All.
Laura
I know. And it was so beautiful to see, like, comments on our. On our. On the YouTube channel, people who hit me up directly. But Mark, he has dialysis, and he. He always says that we always help him through his treatments. He asked for an autograph. I'm going to work on a little cute package for him, but I just want to show him some love.
Ebro
Mark. Hang in there, buddy.
Rosenberg
Bro, this. This. This sick thing is frigging everywhere, bro. One of the main reasons I went home and we did a thing for my daughter in Maryland is because my cousin has colorectal cancer right now. And same thing that got Van Der Beek. Same thing that got Chadwick Boseman. It is becoming. Colorectal is becoming the killer of. And not just men. We say men too much. It's women, too. But. But. But particularly men, Right? So we went down there and saw my cousin. It was great to see him in great spirits. So he still got a long journey, but, like.
Ebro
But you said he got good news.
Rosenberg
He got some good news. The path had been going only the wrong way. And, like, we were all just waiting to get some bit of good news. And he did chemo for a while, and the doctors were very pleased with where the chemo went. So now he's in the setup for surgery. And they also have some new things, technology wise, that they can do to try to get things going the right direction. But it was just very positive to see him in that place and got to spend time with his daughter and my daughter. But, bro, bro, this. This thing is. We're sick. They want us to be sick, bro. Like, everyone, the business profit.
Ebro
It's profit.
Rosenberg
The profit of us being sick. The fact that we have to play this game of what's the right age to get your colonoscopy based on how much the hospitals charge and what the insurance companies are. So it's like, well, is it 40 or 45 or 50? It's like, well, I'll Tell you what.
Ebro
I hear history.
Rosenberg
To me, it sounds like, based on what we're saying, it should probably be, like, 35. So we're not. Let's find the exact moment. But they don't want to do that because that means more colonoscopies and more money being spent. And, you know, the hospitals, because they're not innocent in this either, they gotta say that it costs, like, $15,000 to stick something up your bunghole and take a look.
Ebro
No, I mean, listen, when I. Based on what I know about bungholes, some of y'. All. It might cost $25,000.
Laura
No, but it's ridiculous. Like, I was crazy. My girl who lives in France, right? I was telling her how when I was. When I was pregnant, I gave birth. You know, like, through the portals, like you. They now send you information before your doctor gets it or at the same time. So you're over there trying to dissect things. I don't know. That's just me. I'm Googling. So I remember I gave birth, and I looked at my bill. It was $100,000, and I said, oh, my God, should I give this baby back?
Rosenberg
I know.
Laura
So I'm calling like a psycho, because I'm like, how did we get. He was like, no, no, no. Don't worry. Your insurance hasn't kicked in. So that's not your bill.
Rosenberg
Right?
Laura
I was like, so how much of this is my bill? She was like, probably, like, 10% still. I was like, I know, but.
Rosenberg
And you're still like, oh, my God. Cause other places, they're not paying $10,000 to have a baby.
Laura
Yes, but. But to your point, $100,000 to give birth, guys.
Rosenberg
Yeah, and not only that, they won't pay for us to get the colonoscopies, and they're gonna fight to see if we could get it as late as humanly possible. So you can't be saved if you do find something. Meanwhile, they're also gonna allow more poisons in our food than any other country on planet Earth.
Laura
That's what enrages me about this whole Maha bs.
Ebro
Well, but that's also. You saw at the. They had a hearing a few weeks back, and it was, you know, the heads of, you know, CVS and this and that and whatever. They own the banks, they own the insurance companies, they own the pharmacy, they own the stores, they own the food. It's all. The big pharma owns your food, man. Bayer, Monsanto, same company, same people spraying pesticides on your food and owning the Land that your food is grown on is the stuff. Are the people giving you the things that you need when you get sick?
Laura
Bro, it's.
Rosenberg
I see how people lose it.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
I really do. Because we are literally being. It's that. It's that crazy. This is how people. When you know stuff like this is true. That is how you can really end up sitting on the Internet, being like, so are they really eating kids out here? Yeah. That's how you can go. And that's how our line of what. What is happening, that's horrible. And what is happening, that's what is not happening. That would also be even more horrible. That's how that line gets so blurry.
Ebro
Well, but it also goes. So if you know this is happening and you got elected to a job and you knew all of this was going on and you didn't do anything about it, you're all the same, right?
Rosenberg
Oh, I believe I had one of those this weekend, too.
Ebro
You're all the same.
Rosenberg
We're all.
Ebro
You went up there and did nothing. You didn't tell us nothing. You didn't share any information. You didn't fix nothing. You're all the same. Matter of fact, when you left, you left as a millionaire.
Rosenberg
Right? Right. I. Listen, I had one of those fights this weekend, and it's very frustrating to have, but to that point, you're right. Even the good guys. How can you be a supposed good guy if you're not like Bernie, if you're not like, actively fighting kind of all the time or AOC or all the time for your whole career, you're fighting to make everything better. How is anyone supposed to believe, like, you went up there and things stayed the same.
Ebro
Yeah, basically. So. And these, like, splitting hairs sometimes and sometimes a little bit more, where you have the difference between someone on the left and someone on the right. A progressive, a moderate, a moderate conservative, you know, a right winger. Like, what are we talking about? If you're. If you're going up there and you're not trying to help people stay alive, stay healthy and improve their lives. If you're not doing that, and I don't see you doing that, what are we doing? What are we doing?
Rosenberg
I know we're talking about protections on baby formula.
Ebro
Yes.
Rosenberg
We're talking about literally the most, like, the most precious parts of our society are not protected. Hold on, hold on.
Laura
All right.
Rosenberg
I said. I said this hasn't been hit today yet. Congratulations.
Ebro
If you. If you. If you thought this has. But by the way, this isn't a New phenomenon. Before you get to the super chat. This has been going on since my dad was complaining about it when I'm 10 years old in 1985.
Laura
Yes.
Rosenberg
And people thought, go put on your tin hat, buddy.
Ebro
Or, oh, you're just an angry black man.
Rosenberg
Oh, yeah, of course.
Ebro
So they create a narrative that de. Qualifies your concern.
Rosenberg
Guys, it's getting more. I'm in my stupid move to my stupid apartment.
Laura
Oh, no.
Rosenberg
I haven't been able to find my birth certificate. I finally got my long form birth certificate, and now I can't frigging find it. I'm getting more legitimately serious about figuring out how to do this. EU citizenship.
Ebro
Well. And they're getting more legitimately serious.
Rosenberg
Did you see about trying not to let people do it?
Ebro
No, no, no. About. There was something happening at the European Union. They were having a conversation yesterday. I just got. Somebody just sent a clip in the chat.
Laura
This is not where it's like digital passports.
Ebro
Oh, no. Jazz, just send it to me. No, no, no. It was the. The European Parliament. What?
Rosenberg
European Parliament?
Ebro
Or excuse me, this was in Germany. Sorry, not the European Parliament.
Rosenberg
That's not a thing.
Ebro
No, I don't think that's a thing. No, but this was in the EU where they were talking about protecting American citizens. Citizens. And making sure that American citizens understand what's happening to them. Because they've seen it before.
Rosenberg
No, listen, I have to get it. The idea that my grandparents would think. Well, my grandparents would think to be like, wait, you're trying to get Polish citizenship.
Laura
I know.
Rosenberg
So you could go back.
Laura
I know.
Rosenberg
It wouldn't even make any sense, but, like, when.
Ebro
But if you're Europe right now and you see what's going on in the United States, why wouldn't you start a campaign to attract the best and the brightest from America to want to move to Europe?
Rosenberg
That is a very. To get the best. That's very appealing, I would think. I mean, speaking highly of us, but.
Ebro
Well, no, but there's definitely. Don't act like there's not ingenuity and success for people and people.
Rosenberg
And if you're the kind of people who want to avoid the nonsense that's happening here, you're probably forward thinking.
Ebro
Look, African nations are absolutely doing it 1000% trying to get good people. Black Americans, come home, help us build this. Bring your ideas, bring your businesses, buy land. 1,000%.
Rosenberg
Because, I mean, the man.
Ebro
I know people who are doing it.
Rosenberg
The main thing that makes it hard for me is my parents being here. My parents Won't be here forever, unfortunately. So at some point it'll be like, if we just want to go listen, we can still visit family, friends. But like, I love when I'm in Europe, I literally. And beyond all the political stuff, they just know how to live life better like that when you're there. I think the one thing you feel in other countries, not just Europe, that's just where I've been most recently. But in most countries, honestly, they haven't been taught the American bullish of what it is to be a good person is to work your ass off 24, 7 till you're 70 and then get a couple years, hopefully, if you're not sick from all the poison.
Ebro
Remember the baby boomer generation generation and. Or the. Was the. The greatest generation baby boomers.
Laura
Right.
Ebro
They were working to build a nation. That was their commitment. I am going to the factory, I am going to the, to the, you know, work in the business that's going to make the cars. It's going to put the roads down to build this nation to be the great nation it could be.
Rosenberg
Oh, they were sold it, baby.
Ebro
And no. And in return, though, I'm going to get a retirement, I'm going to get a pension. I'm going to get guaranteed money at 65. At 65. Right. And for many people, they were like, okay, that's the plan. That's what we're doing as Americans. I've signed on to the thing and around the globe. Right. Those opportunities weren't there, though, at the time.
Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro
So people would come to this nation signing up for this American dream.
Laura
Yeah.
Ebro
The house, the car, the this to that, the kids.
Rosenberg
Because if you were in any of the countries that we're talking about, they didn't have that.
Ebro
That's right. But then, especially after World War II.
Rosenberg
Turn of the century, then they caught up.
Ebro
That's right. And have surpassed.
Rosenberg
And then have surpassed every time.
Laura
Every time I'm in another country, I just physically, how I feel from the food I ate, it's completely different.
Rosenberg
Oh, bro, we talked about that.
Laura
Yes. And I always talked to me and Ricardo like, why are we going back? Like, we talk about retiring. We're not gonna retire here. I'm gonna retire in a different country.
Rosenberg
Yeah.
Laura
Maybe Thailand. We love Thailand. I just, you know, we're trying to figure it out. But physically, that should tell you the way my child eats, it's so different. In Japan, it's mandatory. Everyone one day out of the year, you have to go and spend eight hours at a hospital. To get everything checked. Everything checked. It's mandatory. My boy Mel, who lives in Tokyo was like, bro, I spent the day in the hospital yesterday just getting checked to make sure all preventative.
Rosenberg
All per. Yeah, we don't even believe in preventing all preventative.
Ebro
Well, because it costs money and you have to care about your people and invest in your people.
Rosenberg
The thing is, there is pressure. Right. Because I do feel like if I were to do this, I'd probably want to try to do it before Maya were like, you know, old enough to be completely locked into her American life where, like, the idea of doing it feels cruel.
Ebro
Well, and just while I get it that way. Well, no, and then, and also remember, just while you guys are having this conversation, right, the FCC tried to stop Stephen Colbert from having James Talarico on who potentially could flip Texas and into a potential blue state, which people say Texas has been a blue state, but gerrymandering, gerrymandering, all this stuff has, has prohibited that. So by November 2026, you could have the Democrats in control of the House and, or in control of Congress, pretty much. Which makes Donald Trump pretty much a lame duck at that point. And then you move into 2028 and you get a brand new president and then they're going to do the whole marketing matrix on you to make sure you feel like you have hope again. They're going to run over by the, the Obama play. Matter of fact, Obama was outside hanging out this weekend while everything is, you know, in shambles and people are upset. He's at the All Star Game, being interviewed.
Rosenberg
It was talked a little bit of ish, too.
Ebro
Yeah, talked a little ish. That, that feel good moment. They're gonna get you back on the, on the teeth, on the American teats before you leave. You're going to have hope one more time. You think, oh, they're going to get.
Laura
You, they're going to get you back to James.
Ebro
And it's a spin cycle of you being like, we can do it, we can do it, we can do it, guys. We can make this world a better place for you and for me and the entire human race.
Laura
But he's, he has real momentum. I'm very surprised by all of it. Just because Texas, when you think of Texas and Florida, you're like, no chance. Right. He has real momentum.
Ebro
Well, he's religious, Christian. Hardcore Christian.
Laura
Yes.
Ebro
You know, he's, he runs his Bible quotes heavy and he's not Jasmine Crockett, which people have figured out ways to pick her apart. Yeah, she's to this, she's to that. Listen, America does not like the black American attitude.
Rosenberg
Well, see, there's a double whammy number one. Black woman with the quote, black attitude is already going to get picked apart even in the best of circumstances. Tearing you down. Woman, woman, woman with attitude. Tearing down. And it does seem like Jasmine Crockett sometimes uses the moment to go, there are times when I feel like she's making herself, she's setting herself up to be torn down. But like going to the point that I'm like.
Ebro
But so what you're asking her to do when you say that is either A, you're insinuating she's turning it on for the camera.
Rosenberg
No, I don't think so.
Ebro
Or, or B, you're saying don't be who you are right on camera. Which both is bad.
Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah.
Ebro
And which is why I just went with America doesn't like that archetype. No. Which is why I make the joke about doing the dance. Because when you tone it down, when you make it palatable, when you shoulder shimmy, when you wear the right clothes, you know, you speak, you speak your proper grammar, tuck your shirt in, take.
Rosenberg
Your hat off, shave well. But some. See, but you're making the point for me though, some of the things to do are just good things to do.
Ebro
Why?
Rosenberg
To make yourself the most relatable person to everyone around you.
Laura
But see, if everyone wears a suit.
Rosenberg
To this place and you show up in the, with the baseball hat. Yeah. You're gonna stand out. And that's totally.
Ebro
That doesn't make it not doing the damn. We all do. I'm not. It's not shade when I say it.
Rosenberg
No, no, no. I don't think it's shade.
Ebro
There's levels to it. Right. But to when you have a white Christian Democrat from Texas and a black woman from Texas who's also a Christian but you know, has, is, is, is a little bit more passionate and, and, and boisterous. Clearly they've sorted to the guy that is more to your point, palatable, which in America always tends to be what is suitable to white people.
Rosenberg
Ed says James is a good candidate, but to me, Republicans want him in because they know he'll be bipartisan and work with them. Compared to Jasmine Crockett, maybe. Janelle from Queen says, shout out to my eight year old daughter Mia. Is that a different Mia than yesterday? We had a big Mia yesterday. Yo, the Mia's out here. You know, there's Maya's, there's Mia's, Mama, me, there's Rita a salute from Florida. There's Ms. Slim J. What up? There's Cel X23. Who wants to talk about the Chrono Rousey fight that's now happening?
Laura
Oh, yeah. I wanted to ask you about that, Rosenberg.
Ebro
Let's go to ESPN's own Rosenberg now for the Carano Rousey fight. Rhonda back fighting Gina Carano for her first MMA fight in nine years.
Rosenberg
What was the Gina Carano controversy? The Mandalorian. She had said some. Something iffy around the Mandalorian. It was in press for me. In press leading up to the Mandalorian.
Ebro
Oh, that was the woman in Mandalorian.
Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro
And what did she say? Let's get the quote.
Rosenberg
If you find that, Griff. I don't. Yesterday, I was trying to remember what it was, but Sal's comment was, carano's too racist to get a job, so she's got to fight Rhonda.
Laura
Oh, okay.
Rosenberg
But I got. I don't remember. I thought it was anti Semitic, actually.
Ebro
All right. Is that racist?
Rosenberg
I mean, listen, they're country cousins. You know what I mean?
Laura
I know.
Rosenberg
Let's see. Yo, Rick says no eye contact needed. Zen, Zen, Zen, Zen. Thank you.
Ebro
Yo, man, thanks, bro. No eye contact.
Rosenberg
R. Mercer says Peter complimented my the Rock shirt at beach bash at Bar A. Now I need some eye contact to top it. Yo, bro, how much money did he throw?
Ebro
Give him some icon. Look at the camera. Look deep in his eye. No.
Rosenberg
Right. See what you do.
Ebro
There's your camera.
Rosenberg
Look deep, low, 2, 3, 9. What up? Thomas Delano. What up? Carano fell under heavy criticism when she posted that quote, Jews were beaten in the streets not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors, even by children. I don't understand the context in which she was saying this. Because history is edited. Most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views? I mean, I don't think what she's saying is true. I don't know that I think it's bad. Like.
Ebro
Well, I think. I think the kicker on it is the last line. Read the last line again.
Rosenberg
How is that different than anyone hating someone for their political views?
Ebro
Yeah, that part is comparing what Nazis did to Jews to political views.
Rosenberg
Especially if you're compared to, like, people here being.
Ebro
Right.
Rosenberg
Especially if the people you're defending have hateful political views.
Ebro
Right.
Rosenberg
As opposed to People in Jews in Germany who are just practicing their religion, just living life and just living life. So anyways, we are either way. Rhonda apparently tried to talk to Dana White. UFC couldn't get it done. So they're doing it with Jake Paul's MVP promotions and they're doing on Netflix.
Ebro
I wonder why Dana White could not get it. Isn't that. That's not interesting to anybody other than me. In what world can they not get it done?
Rosenberg
I don't know if it was probably money, probably his level of interest maybe at this point, you know, like Rhonda's pushing 40, Carno's 43, and.
Ebro
Oh, okay.
Rosenberg
But you would think it's big money. You would think it's big box office.
Ebro
But he doesn't want to.
Rosenberg
He.
Ebro
Maybe he doesn't want to spend.
Rosenberg
And I don't think Ronda wanted to do. I know I saw a statement from Rhonda a few months ago being asked about if she would go if she would fight on the White House show. And she said, absolutely not. So maybe that was the big show that they were trying to gear up for. And she's like, I'm not doing that. And so they weren't up for that. But now it is funny, cuz it's putting pressure on them to try to make sure if this White House show comes together, that it can be at least as big a deal as the return of Ronda Rousey.
Ebro
The White House thing, when is that supposed to be? For Trump's birthday or something?
Rosenberg
I think it's early June.
Ebro
Having like a festival on the lawn. They're having like a summer jam or something, right?
Laura
June or July. What a joke.
Rosenberg
June 11th. No, I can't. 250th anniversary. Yeah.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
Well, no, it was going to be around the US250, July 4th.
Laura
Okay.
Rosenberg
But then I think they ended up. It was moving up, like, kept going earlier to into June. I don't know. But, but, but, but no one knows what's happening. Well, you know, listen, we're a clown show. That's what, that's what we are. But some people will be interested to see Rhonda. You know, she kind of. Rhonda lost me. Rhonda lost me over the last couple of years. Her. Her way of talking about WWE on the way out really pissed me off. Her way of talking about it when she was there pissed me off. Particularly on the way out. She was just like so dismissive of it that she lost me.
Ebro
Well, it didn't pop off for her the way she wanted to. Right.
Rosenberg
Well, she was a big deal, but, like, she had everything handed to her. She had the ideal perfect setup. She came in as a star. She main evented wrestlemania. They gave her Roddy Piper's look and gimmick. She had great theme music. That's right.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
She had everything going and people still really didn't f with it that much.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
And in the end, it just sort of went womp, womp and she left and then just kind of also then hated on fans on her way out the door.
Laura
Oh, God.
Rosenberg
Kind of didn't always show respect for the other talent that's there busting their ass. And these other girls that are there, like, yo, you just showed up already a star.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
You don't even know what we did to get here.
Ebro
Right.
Rosenberg
And you, you don't. You had everything handed to you and it still wasn't enough.
Ebro
Enough.
Rosenberg
You know what I'm saying? But listen, when I saw her, she always carried herself like a lovely person. I never saw her act like a. A diva or anything like that.
Ebro
It just didn't work out.
Rosenberg
Just didn't work out.
Ebro
It didn't work out. Interesting couple of things. We got to get to the. The rundown and the lowdown. We have a world premiere song today that today. Is that today?
Rosenberg
Patreon.
Ebro
Patreon. We gotta wait. Yeah.
Rosenberg
I thought we can't play it here. I think you said we can't play.
Ebro
I thought we could play it here. I thought that was the whole deal. That's why they sent it. They wanted us to premiere it. Do we have the video? The shout out?
Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah.
Ebro
Let me see, Let me see. The shout out.
Rosenberg
To the time. You know, it's Vibes. Cartel.
Ebro
Hey.
Rosenberg
Representing for Ebro, Laura and Rosenberg. And this is the premiere of my new song featuring the amazing Chef called Panic. Now, listen, don't change that channel. Ebro and the team is on the panel.
Laura
I love Cartel.
Rosenberg
Little bar.
Ebro
Yo, listen, bro.
Laura
Cartel. That's fire in the studio.
Rosenberg
No. So can we at least play like a snip if you're. Are we worried about that it's going to blow things up if we do it?
Ebro
I don't know. Are we not allowed to play it? Is the question.
Laura
Are we, guys? I don't know. A tiny bit. Okay, give us a tiny bit. Should we do a tiny bit?
Ebro
I think we can hit a snip.
Rosenberg
And then people go, is it out yet?
Ebro
No, I don't think it's out. Is it all Right.
Rosenberg
So let's world premiere it, and we can always pull it down for a second and bring it back up. I bet we'll be all right. That's my theory.
Ebro
Boss. Love you from the start.
Rosenberg
It sounds like something right here.
Laura
That's it.
Rosenberg
I'm scared. Yo, that joint. Hold on, I'm ready. Hold on.
Laura
I'm ready. Ebro. You might have to throw another party.
Rosenberg
Yo, listen. That sounds like a thing right there.
Ebro
Yo, that's crazy. Cartel.
Rosenberg
And that sounds like. Outside the inside. When I saw you at the party and I had to say hi.
Ebro
Yo, if you love. If you love reggae music Throw a Jamaican flag in the chat.
Rosenberg
Move with it.
Ebro
Move with the girl.
Rosenberg
Rewind the tune. Yo. Shouts to Cartel That's. That sounds awesome.
Laura
That's fire.
Rosenberg
Wow. Pick up yourself.
Ebro
Yo, we had air Horse and everything.
Laura
Love Cartel. Wow, that's exciting.
Ebro
What a time. Yo, we got a premiere on the Ebro Laura Rosenberg show. I felt like something.
Rosenberg
Yo, that's crazy. Outside and inside. When I saw you at the party and I had to. It's going to. It's going to happen.
Ebro
Say what? Flags in the chat. Y' all feeling that? Cartel. Make sure you hit Cartel's Instagram right now. Tell them we played it.
Rosenberg
Yeah, yeah, sure. That'll actually make us look good. We need you to go let Cartel know you heard it right now. IG and Twitter, all that.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
Shouts to Abu from Nigeria.
Ebro
What up, Niger?
Rosenberg
Who gave us 2,000 naira? Is it naira?
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
What's that worth?
Ebro
That's. The 2,000 naira is like, I don't know, $2. I'll take maybe $20.
Rosenberg
I don't know.
Ebro
All right, let me look.
Rosenberg
Shout out to Kathry Pena, who said Jasmine takes money from APAC and always signs off.
Ebro
Off. Yeah. That was money to Israel. That was the other thing. Yeah.
Rosenberg
I love her, but not that part so much also. I love you guys. Thank you.
Ebro
Love.
Laura
I didn't know that.
Rosenberg
Cleans Haven said. Okay. The new logo grew on me. All right already. Just that fast.
Ebro
No. 2009 was a dollar fifty. Yo, yo, Nigeria. What up?
Laura
Thank you.
Rosenberg
All right, we have to get to run down.
Laura
All right, let's go, let's go.
Ebro
Run down time.
Laura
Let's do it.
Ebro
The rundown.
Rosenberg
Turn that up. Screens on glow when she pulls up.
Ebro
Headlines heavy, but we still caught up.
Rosenberg
Light still flashing we don't slow up, up, up.
Laura
I sent this video to Rosenberg last night. As soon as I saw it.
Rosenberg
Did I see it? I don't know.
Ebro
Oh, yeah, sorry, Laura. Time out. Shout out to Russ Jones, man, who just text us talking about me. And Rosenberg was really committed to that. Heal the world. Take it up. Take a look.
Rosenberg
Well, listen, once it starts going, you got to go. Yeah. What up, Russ?
Ebro
Sorry, Laura. Go ahead.
Laura
It's all good. So Shia LaBeouf got beat up in Mardi Gras. No.
Ebro
This is nasty.
Rosenberg
I don't like this whole thing.
Laura
Was caught on video. Now reports are saying that he started a fight staff member at a bar in the French Quarter. And then, you know, he started getting into it with the wrong people. Got beat up. He was taken to the hospital, treated for unknown injuries, but they're saying that he later was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.
Rosenberg
So what I could see in the video, it looked like the people beating him up were literally trying to get him to calm down.
Laura
Yes. That's what I saw.
Rosenberg
And when he wouldn't calm down, we're like, we. All right. We're going to have to punch you, bro. Like, settle down, Pop. Like, you need to chill.
Ebro
Yeah, it definitely looked like.
Rosenberg
And what worries me about that is, is what I recall from my dealings with Shia back in the day.
Ebro
He.
Rosenberg
He was always a guy who had certainly a troubled side, but I'm pretty sure he was in, like, intense recovery.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
So the fact that he's getting kicked out of a bar for being wasted is a really bad, worrisome sign. And I hope that there are people in his life who can help him because.
Ebro
Yeah. You took this really serious. I was gonna.
Rosenberg
No, I'm sorry. I feel bad.
Ebro
No, no, you're right. You're doing the right thing. I was gonna blame you for the video because of what you said to him and about him years ago when you bodied him in a freestyle. Do it. We don't have Rosenberg's freestyle available. No.
Rosenberg
I thought you asked for it.
Ebro
I thought I did.
Rosenberg
No, people don't want to see it. They don't want to see me shine. It was my coolest moment. So people don't want.
Ebro
Nah, the moment.
Rosenberg
No, people don't want the moment you.
Ebro
Feel like Rashad's hating on.
Guest/Contributor
No.
Rosenberg
Because that moment is so good. Happy Thanksgiving. Feast on my. And then the headphone toss n it broke the Internet. It. It changed the game.
Ebro
How many years ago was that dude?
Rosenberg
Like. No. Like, eight, nine, ten.
Laura
Yeah. Griff says nine years old.
Ebro
But.
Rosenberg
But I. I dealt with him a bunch. And after me and him had that little thing, he always came off as, like, super nice.
Ebro
Right.
Rosenberg
But crazy okay. But crazy. Like he was just hitting me. He was just texting me blind without me knowing how he got my number. Yo, this Shia.
Stephen Colbert
Blah.
Rosenberg
You know, I was like, oh man. You know, sorry how things worked out. You seem like a good guy. Yeah, you should think that. Hey, by the way, like, he was just intense and crazy off rip. But like I always felt. I felt for him. Like there's something up with him. That's not. He's a super talented guy, but he's had problems.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
I'm sorry to ruin the fun, but it made me sad to see him getting beat up.
Ebro
I was actually gonna go as far as blaming you for him getting beat up.
Rosenberg
Ebro is the wor. Ebro will take the opportunity to blame me for something or bury me if the opportunity is there. He is taking.
Ebro
Wait, why. Why you think Ms. Jones is out here on the Internet coming from. You know, that's how the relationships work, man.
Rosenberg
Yeah, it's true.
Laura
I do because we already talked about Steve Colbert. But I do wanted to. I do want to play this video from.
Rosenberg
You know him that well. You just call him Steve. I've never seen. No, I've never seen.
Laura
But he's our guy now.
Rosenberg
Yeah, Steve, he's our guy.
Ebro
Steve literally never met him before, but he's our. Is he a friend of the show without coming on show?
Rosenberg
He's friend of everybod. Steve.
Laura
I wanted to play a video from Brian Baez which is mentally divine. Official breaking out. What's happening right now because I don't. You've seen the headlines on the post. Like Zoran, people will regret their votes because he's raising taxes on the average New Yorker.
Rosenberg
Here we go. Let's take.
Guest/Contributor
And this right here is exactly why we can't have nice shit. It's being falsely reported that Mayor Mamdani is planning to raise property taxes in New York City. Except that's not what he said at all. So here's exactly what happened. Today, February 17, Mayor Mamdani held a press conference conference where he was going to talk about his preliminary budget for the next fiscal year. At this press conference, he had to address head on the fact that Mayor Eric Adams before him left him with a 12 billion dollar budget gap and deficit. There was repeatedly found that the Adams administration had underestimated expenses for police overtime and housing vouchers, just to name two areas. As a matter of fact, the Eric Adams administration was so bad at budgeting that the Citizens Budget Commission said no previous administration had engaged in under budgeting to the Extent that the Adams administration did. And at this press conference, Mayor Mumdani laid out two paths to be able to fix the problem. He specifically says that path one is his goal, where he wants to increase the personal income taxes on New Yorkers earning more than $1 million and corporate taxes on the most profitable corporations. Essentially standing 10 toes down on what he said he wanted to do the minute he started running for mayor, taxing the ultra wealthy. But he was also honest in laying out a second path, which he labels our last resort resort. And that last resort is raising property taxes. As a matter of fact, Zoron, what happens if you can't do path one, which is your essential goal on taxing the rich?
Rosenberg
We do not go down the first path. The city will be forced down a second, more harmful path. We would have to raise property taxes. The options of the second path are the options of last resort.
Guest/Contributor
Did I hear that right? Did you say it was the last resort? I'm gonna need you to clear that up for me. Say that one more time.
Rosenberg
I want to be first. Very clear. When we are speaking about property tax. That is a tool of very last resort. Well, last resort or not, it's.
Ebro
Well, no, it's scary for people, I think. Listen, before you jump to the last resort, I think this is a learning opportunity for everyone. Tuned in. Okay. Start with under budget. Atoms.
Laura
I know.
Ebro
Okay.
Laura
Because that.
Ebro
Why do you under budget? You usually under budget so that you don't have to expose the shortfalls in the budget, and you can claim that you've balanced the budget, and then later on, you end up overspending. So not only were there problems when you created the budget, you created more problems after you spent the budget, which you're just going to kick that. Kick the can down the road. Kick the can down the road. Because you don't want to have to be the person to raise taxes in some way, shape, or form, because obviously we know now. And if you're paying attention, then Eric Adams was in with big real estate. So he want to. To tax them more.
Rosenberg
Of course not.
Ebro
He was in with. He was in with the ultra wealthy. And that he didn't want to have to tax them more.
Rosenberg
No, no.
Ebro
So. And. And he also did not want to not increase, I don't know, the police budget, because he's a cop, and he wants to make sure that they get more money. So these are things that he didn't want to do. Right. So he acted as if the budget was good to go. And if you were paying attention at the time, the comptroller and others were saying the budget is not okay.
Laura
Yes.
Ebro
Like people have been saying this. So Mamdani comes in, in and off the rip. He says, we have a $12 billion budget gap. Hokel then just the other day said, I'm going to give you guys a billion dollars to help out.
Rosenberg
Well, that's one twelfth of what we.
Ebro
Mom Donnie also said that they went through the budget, they're going through with a fine tooth comb, and they found some savings. So now the gap, the last I heard, was down to 5 billion.
Rosenberg
Oh, that's pretty good.
Ebro
That's pretty good. And he said he's got a whole committee and they're going through line by line by line by line by line, every detail they can find to figure out how to close this $5 billion gap. But remember, for Mom Donnie to be able to increase taxes on the ultra wealthy, whose support does he need? The governor Hochul. Hochul used to have someone running against her in her next campaign for governor, Antonio Delgado. He recently pulled out of the race. He was more progressive. He was more working families. Party also aligned with Mom Donnie wanting to tackle the ultra wealthy. But Mom Donnie and Hoku got cozy. They're trying to work together. And he, I think, didn't feel like he has a path forward now that Hokul and Mom Donnie are moving together, because he wasn't going to be able to move with Mom Donnie. So he was like, I don't really see a path forward. I saw his Twitter post. So the question now is, is Kathy Hochul actually going to support Mom Donnie in raising taxes on the ultra wealthy? And why would she? Because she doesn't have to. Nobody's running against her.
Laura
I know.
Ebro
In the primary.
Laura
And she said she wasn't to do it before.
Ebro
Right. So Mom Donnie's in a bit of a quagmire right now, bro.
Rosenberg
A pickle.
Ebro
A pickle. So let's see how this works out. He's playing. Look, I. I'm not mad at Mom.
Rosenberg
Is he? Is he, Is he? Is he.
Ebro
He's got to do the dance. He did. Remember, he already went and danced with Trump. Yeah. He held his ground.
Rosenberg
No, it was a good dance.
Ebro
But it was a good dance.
Rosenberg
No, it's a dance.
Ebro
Yeah, he did his two step. Trump met it on the D dance floor.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Oh, you want to dance? Let's dance.
Ebro
Yeah. Now he's dancing with Hoku and he got a billion dollars out of it. Maybe. Maybe a little bit more than a billion, but it's definitely something for everybody watching right now to pay attention to see if Mom Donnie can navigate this first little hurdle. Big hurdle, really. It's a big hurdle, $5 billion budget gap.
Rosenberg
Because let me tell you, if he ends up having to tax regular people, he's.
Ebro
I don't think he's going to go that far.
Rosenberg
What was the beginning.
Ebro
But. But no, but what. He does want one last point. So sorry, I believe by saying that out loud as a last resort and the Post and everybody running with that as a headline.
Laura
Yeah, yeah.
Ebro
He wants everyone to pay attention to this process and make sure that they hold it against Kathy Hochul if she does not help him tax the ultra wealthy.
Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro
That's his end game, is like, yo, if I lose this battle, it's Kathy's fault.
Laura
He has to. He has to be transparent. That's the only way.
Rosenberg
Way. Well. And he also has to protect himself because if he sees. If it looks like it's him that's doing it, he now let down all the people who he brought. But this. I thought where you were going to go is the lesson is it's impossible for people when they get into office to really. To not do the dance.
Ebro
Yeah, but I already said that.
Rosenberg
Everyone knows that.
Ebro
No, no, everybody doesn't know that. Everybody thinks that when these, these ideas come out from a candidate and these plans come out from a candidate's proposals, they think they're locked in. In concrete steps that they're absolutely going to be able to make with without any sort of push back. That ain't the case now.
Laura
There's always push back. Now let's go to the low down.
Ebro
The low down.
Laura
Here we go, cuz this is messy. It's time for the Low down.
Ebro
With Laura St.
Laura
So I will say I was digging in the Patreon comments and just comments, period, you know, because some people do not like our Satan character.
Ebro
Yeah, they don't. It's not beloved by all, but majority do like it. I thought we came up with a.
Laura
Name for him, but yeah, Yes. I was going to say, do you want to introduce the new name? Because I like it. Do you remember it?
Rosenberg
Devlin. Yes, Devlin.
Laura
Devlin, Devlin.
Ebro
I wasn't. Listen, I was not a part of this discussion.
Laura
I came up with it.
Ebro
Devlin was not.
Rosenberg
No, Devlin's just like your sassy friend.
Laura
Devlin is funny.
Rosenberg
Devlin's your sassy friend with a weird voice. That's all.
Ebro
Wait, so now Devlin.
Rosenberg
Devlin's just your sassy friend with a weird voice.
Ebro
I'm gonna watch how this plays.
Rosenberg
Out who's willing just to say what needs to be said, you know what I mean?
Laura
All right, well, listen, there's some Major League baseball bomb. So the Major League Baseball Players association, while the executive director, Tony Clark, resigned on Tuesday. Well, there was an internal investigation that revealed an inappropriate relationship with his sister in law.
Rosenberg
Bro.
Ebro
Yeah.
Rosenberg
His sister in law, who also worked for the mlbp.
Ebro
His brother's wife.
Rosenberg
We don't know. Yes. We don't know.
Laura
She had been hired by the Union in 2023.
Ebro
Sister in law.
Rosenberg
We don't know which sister in law it is yesterday on the. On Don Hahn and Rosenberg, which you guys can stream in the afternoons if it fits your fancy. We spent a lot of time breaking down. What's the worst. Cheating. Cheating. Sleeping with your wife's sister or your brother's wife. Bro. Great conversation. No, it's a great. No, it's all bad.
Ebro
It's all bad. That's fine. But I like this. I like.
Rosenberg
This is a good thought, Right.
Ebro
What's worse? Banging out your brother's wife or your.
Rosenberg
Sister'S or your wife.
Ebro
Sister.
Rosenberg
Yeah. Because they both are bad.
Ebro
Wife's sister's bad. Worse. Yeah, so.
Rosenberg
So that's where I lean. But the. The difference is, is wife, sister. Either way, your wife's getting crushed.
Ebro
That's right.
Rosenberg
But in the brother scenario, your wife's still getting crushed and you crushed your brother. And all your immediate family is all now thrown into it, whereas the wife's sister. You ended your marriage. Essentially. That's it.
Laura
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Rosenberg
But the brother. The brother's wife and her family.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
Which happens in most situations. But with the brother one, you still lost the wife and her family. That's real. And now you lost the brother and his family.
Ebro
I was just thinking your brother might understand and be like, yeah, nah, she a baddie. Nah, she a baddie. I get it.
Rosenberg
No, no, this is messed up. It's messed up, but I get it. She. But also, we don't know this Tony Clark thing. We don't know the details of, like, I don't know whether there was separation or we. No one really knows. They just know the word sister in law. The reason they got caught is because they're. They're looking for other, worse stuff, like the mlbpa, you know, having charities that aren't really getting the funds they're supposed to be getting. Like they're looking for impropriety.
Ebro
Now, is this all because they're headed towards a strike?
Rosenberg
I don't know. I don't know if it's because they're headed towards the strike.
Laura
But it's definitely an audit. Right?
Rosenberg
But it's an audit.
Ebro
Yeah. Because somebody was saying all of this is happening right now because they are headed towards the street.
Rosenberg
Right. So it's, so it's interesting now that they're going to be without this guy as they get ready for their biggest moment. But the question is the thing that stuck out in my mind was this seems clearly like a violation of one of my number one rules in life. Don't do two illegal things at the same time.
Ebro
Live by.
Laura
Don't do two.
Ebro
Don't break the law while you break the law.
Rosenberg
You can't break the law while you're breaking the law. You're already doing something with your sister in law. And then you said hey by the way, while we're at it, I think I can line you up with a job at my place and get you paid too, man.
Ebro
Played yourself.
Rosenberg
Now hit the button.
Laura
Hit the button.
Rosenberg
Congrats. Congratulations. So now and I wonder when they started this whole audit. I wonder if he's thinking oh man, they're going to find this or if he was like they're not going to find this.
Ebro
I've.
Rosenberg
He supposedly had a meeting on the books with the Cleveland Guardians yesterday and that meeting wasn't canceled until yesterday morning like he thought he was. It was business as usual.
Ebro
And then it all this all happened yesterday.
Rosenberg
And then there's another thing to think about. About who was just a snitch.
Laura
Right.
Rosenberg
Because they're going through all this stuff and you know they're getting help from people on the inside which makes you know what you should do is look into old Tony Car. Ask, ask about his sister in law.
Laura
See where Leech who's going to lunch with on Tuesday.
Ebro
But that makes me that that solidifies that this is about to strike. That the owners are doing this to take apart the union sounds right in time for negotiations or to figure out how they're going to just dang drag these players. Cuz you know baseball players it they make a lot of money.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
How about this? Griff just threw in. Clark has faced allegations of nepotism over jobs for at least one of his daughters in the MLBPA also.
Ebro
Oh, I ain't worried about that.
Rosenberg
No. But it sounds like there's a history of him just trying to get people in.
Laura
They're going to bring it up.
Rosenberg
I'm going just try to get people jobs.
Ebro
This happens. It's, it's by way the, the way I don't care about nepotism. Don't care having sex with your sister in law or you're stupid enough to hire somebody that you're cheating on your wife with.
Rosenberg
Yeah, that's.
Ebro
You're an idiot.
Rosenberg
Yeah, that's the Schmidt part.
Ebro
But nepotism has been going on in forever.
Rosenberg
Like everyone tries to get jobs.
Ebro
What are we talking about? The whole American society that we know is built on who you know.
Rosenberg
What do you mean? The Trump children. They've earned everything on their own.
Ebro
The blood children.
Rosenberg
Children. Yeah, them too.
Ebro
It earned everything.
Laura
Messy, messy. Well, that's the lowdown.
Ebro
Yo, let's hit that.
Rosenberg
Hit that outro.
Ebro
That was. The original gurus at Gmail. If you got something going on you want to talk about or need help with, let's get to.
Laura
You're not good.
Ebro
I am now. Kenza, stop being disrespectful.
Laura
Let's breathe in, breathe out. Zen, Zen, zen. The original gurusmail.com theoriginalgurusmail.com that's where you write to us and we welcome you. Ebro, burn the sage.
Ebro
Zen, Zen, Zen.
Rosenberg
Rosenberg.
Laura
Who's out there? Who needs us?
Rosenberg
The original gurusmail.com. the original gurusmail.com dot.com. i have one. Go ahead.
Ebro
Hang on.
Rosenberg
Hey, yo.
Ebro
It's time for the gurus, Rosenberg.
Rosenberg
All right.
Ebro
You know, you are beautiful queen Ebro. Don't ever play yourself. You're not a guru.
Rosenberg
But shouldn't it now say that you are a guru?
Ebro
That's okay.
Laura
We're back. I love this.
Rosenberg
This is giving African vibes. Yeah, I like feel on this.
Ebro
I got gurus in Africa.
Rosenberg
Original. That's the original Gurus. Yo. I have what? That beat kicking in. Felt like the boogeyman showing up at WWE for my wrestling fans. Now, I have one complaint about the this stew and the facilities.
Ebro
All right.
Laura
Okay.
Rosenberg
Why are the two temperature settings sauna or polar vortex?
Ebro
I don't know what that.
Rosenberg
It sounds like Africa. It feels like Denmark in February right now.
Ebro
Tundra.
Rosenberg
Good God, man. TheOriginal GurusMail.com. what's good? Gurus Love you all. Keep educating. We need you. My brother has been going through it with his wife for three years now. I want your advice.
Laura
Okay.
Rosenberg
They got married, bought a house. We bring the beat down just a tad. Like just a little bit. They got married, bought a house, moved in together, and gave birth to a stillborn baby in 2019. So sorry pandemic. Lockdown happened. Well, don't take the beat out all together. I kind of liked Having a little something. Yeah, I liked a little something. Thank you. They got pregnant again and gave birth to a baby while my brother lost his job in 2020. From this point, the marriage deteriorated and his wife said she doesn't want to be with him anymore. She reached out to me three years ago to tell me she's done and I tried talking her out of it to know if it veil. She said. During her second pregnancy in 2020, my brother spent more time in the basement playing video games instead of spending time with her and felt abandoned. She felt because of that she fell out of love with him and no longer has any intimate feelings for him. She currently sleeps alone upstairs in the guest room while he sleeps in their bedroom. Their daughter is turning six this year and I'm worried for her as she is to live seeing her parents function separately in the house. When my brother brings up moving forward with the divorce, she becomes emotional and the conversation never concludes with any constructive resolution solution. His wife goes out often to leave my brother to care for the child on his own to the point where his wife said she resents their closeness and knows the daughter favors him over her.
Ebro
Oh my God.
Rosenberg
Now you're mad that he's close with the daughter too.
Ebro
God damn.
Rosenberg
What can this man do? My brother's the son of a pastor and wants to stay in this marriage, so he withstands all the negativity. His wife grew up with her parents having a toxic relationship with her father living in the basement. They went to marriage counseling and she quit on it, refused to go back. He acknowledged his wrongdoing in the past, apologized, and continues to care for her like cooking and ironing clothes for her friends work. But she said she can't turn back. She keeps saying he's a good man and will be better off without her. It's been three years since she said she doesn't want to be with him, but they are at a standstill and living together. My brother said he can't afford to live in the house alone and the location is best for their daughter's schooling, but he's willing to sell the house if need be. Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do. Peace and much love to you.
Laura
Oh, this is sad.
Rosenberg
So listen, I've been through somewhat similar situations with family members where you're seeing the situation's not good, but it's not moving anywhere. I mean, listen, there is going to be. Unfortunately one certain level where we're probably going to land is a website that you need to check out. I recommend it. It's sad and it's a hard website. It's called mindyourbusiness.com. this is your brother's life and you can only do so much.
Ebro
That's right.
Laura
Yeah.
Rosenberg
But I will say this. I really, a lot of parents really go with the whole we need to stick this out for the child thing way too much, bro. Like, wage. Like, they really think them being in a toxic, unloving, separate, divided house is so much better for the child than find. Because guess what, here's the. Oh, here's a gem. Actually, the crazy part is, Jim, if they break up and they find a way to live separately, they will actually learn to have love for each other and appreciate each other and have a.
Laura
Positive relationship and even just be friends or friendly.
Rosenberg
And it'll be better for the kid because the kid's like, yeah, my parents are divorced, but they're homies. Like, they hang out, they're friends. It's all love. We're a family. We're not a traditional family, but like, we love each other.
Ebro
Toxic and negative and mean. And, and you get in the house, you feel uncomfortable walking around.
Rosenberg
You'd rather be toxic and misera together than maybe upbeat and happy, separate.
Laura
And children feel everything and see everything. And I think people underestimate how smart children are. They feel it.
Rosenberg
I bro, I see what's happening. And also, she's six now.
Laura
Yes.
Rosenberg
If they wait till she's 10, even harder now it's worse. So now you got to wait longer. Not going to do it at 14. Well, now you just waited around from birth till 18 years old and you think that's going to really have a good impact on this child rather than just have a, a healthy divorce where you guys made an affirmative decision and you did it.
Ebro
I'm a firm believer that you should teach children to not stay in situations where they're unhappy. And so when they see adults staying in situations where they're unhappy, I think you're. You could potentially be showing them something that you don't want to show them right now. They might have the personality where they're like, I'm never going to do what my parents did. I'm, I'm, I'm out. As soon as something's not benefiting me or it's harming me in some way, physically or emotionally, I'm bouncing.
Rosenberg
But they might not.
Ebro
But they might not.
Rosenberg
They might emulate it by accident.
Ebro
Exactly.
Laura
So I don't know. I mean, I. Listen, I don't think that they should stay together. It's obvious it's not working out. It's not a healthy environment.
Rosenberg
And it also sounds like the girl is saying to her brother in law, like, hey, help me. This isn't good. Like I don't want to be here. It's not good. Like she's not being. The part about getting jealous of his relationship with the kids was a little add on that feels complicated and stupid. But in terms of like the relationship, she seems like she knows it's not good for him. She doesn't want to be a part of this. Like I think you're. I think you got to try to just impart to him that there's a better place, a better way to do this kid piece.
Ebro
And her being jealous of his relationship with his kids is likely rooted in her unhappiness and pain that she's going through. Through being stuck in this scenario and the other things that they've been through. Right. And so the daughter might be gravitating to the dad because the dad's trying to be upbeat and positive and having fun while the mom is just so on the outs at the kids. Like, yo, mom's, mom's whack, B. I don't want to hang out with her. It's a six year old. They don't know the difference other than who's having the most fun.
Rosenberg
Right.
Laura
That's it. And also the fact that they tried couples therapy, marriage counseling and she refused to go back. She just, she's not ready to face a reality. Reality.
Ebro
Or she doesn't want it anymore. She wants to change her reality. Like she wants out. I don't like this. I don't want to be here, but.
Laura
Is not brave enough to do it.
Rosenberg
So I would encourage your brother to at least explore if there are other options because there is a way that this could be much better. And the school district, they could find another house in the school district. They can, there are ways they can make it all work if they want to. But I would just encourage him that it's not positive. Staying together. You're not going to win some award at the end because you guys stayed together. Unless you all want to try to stay together and be happy and really make it work, which it does. It sounds like that ship has sailed.
Laura
Right? Right.
Rosenberg
Then it's not worth it.
Laura
But okay. So you could, you could suggest these things but have boundaries, you know, because.
Rosenberg
After that it's mindyourbusiness.com as I mentioned.
Laura
Exactly. I was going to say go to the website.
Rosenberg
Just hit the website. It's open all the time.
Laura
There you go. So say the guru.
Ebro
There you go. No, you don't have to do that. You don't do that again on the out.
Rosenberg
No, you just the outro song. I'm hit some shout outs on the way out cuz we got y girl with hitting us with a. She hit us with a boom shock attack.
