The ebro laura rosenberg show.
Ebro Darden
Wow. I was gonna hit the show intro and Rosenberg was like, you know what, let's not do that today. Maybe we'll do it after I say this or something, I don't know. But it's been a hard weekend for us here at Ebro Laura Rosenberg. And in our greater kind of hip hop community here in New York City, we lost a great friend we learned about on Friday. Lady shells. D.J. lady shells. There she is, as always. Yeah, smiling. She was my ace man, producer of my show over at Apple Music, but also Laura Styles best friend. And you know that face that you see right there for Lady Shells? That's her face all the time. All the time. Always smiling, always up, lifting others up. And so yeah, she was killed in a terrible car accident and everyone's mourning in different ways. I chose to come into the show today because I would rather, you know, lean in and tell her story of a woman who, you know, fell in love with hip hop, fell in love with DJing, and worked her way up through the clubs alongside so many DJs in this city, going on to produce radio shows and DJ her own shows and clubs and be Someone that just. Whether she was on the front, you know, on the turntables and hosting, or she was doing support work, same energy all the time. All the time. And doing it for the right reasons because she loved hip hop. She loved bringing people together. And everybody's gonna mourn differently. That's part of the human experience.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, and. And for Laura, I mean, like Ebro said it and is not exaggerating. This is her. You know, Laura has this little crew of girls that they've been friends for 20 years. And shells, we all basically knew Shells as long as we knew Laura, because that. That they are.
Ebro Darden
They're roommates.
Laura Rosenberg
They're roommates. Family like that is literally Laura's family. So we don't know. We don't know how many days Laura's gonna take. Obviously, we said, just do whatever you need to do. But, yeah, I heard. I was hurting. We all love Shells, but obviously I was heartbroken for Laura, and then I was heartbroken for you too. I mean, you guys, she's really family. And what an. What an awesome. I was saying to Natalie yesterday, I never had a moment where I saw her where it wasn't great. And I do not recall anything but good vibes with Shells.
Ebro Darden
RIP Lady Shells gone too soon. To her family, her mother and her partner, she was a mom, a sister. And to her immediate family, we send love and light. I can't imagine what you guys are all going through. And, you know, so many people contact you and they don't. You know, in these moments where you're reminded how fragile life is, there aren't really words. You can celebrate the person. You can remember the joy and the light they brought to. To the world and the things that they accomplished and the people that love them and the people they loved. You can do all of those things. I think, you know, this is one of those life situations where all you can do is feel. We could do all the talking in the world about how great Lady Shells is. It's not gonna get her back to us, but it will keep us close to the memory of her and keep us close to her light, which, you know, me knowing Shells, in a way, I knew her and working with her every day. She would want us to find joy and laughter, talk some shit, play some hip hop, and try to enjoy the day. She was always about that, you know, and that's really. That's the tough part about losses like this is there, you know, it's just tragedy. And that's why that is tragedy. That's what this is. This is tragedy and questions.
Laura Rosenberg
You can't answer that even if you get the answer to, guess what? They ain't gonna take you anywhere. Because. Because the tragedy is what it is.
Ebro Darden
It's a tragedy.
Laura Rosenberg
Can't get her back.
Ebro Darden
And, and yeah, I, I, I told a couple of people I work with. I was like, look, you know, I'm, I would rather put my mind to work than sit and stare at the wall at home on days like this. Right? Like, I, for better or for worse, work is really all I is like my go to when things get crazy. When I'm stressed out, I'm going to work. You know what I mean? When I'm sad, I'm going to work. When I'm happy, I'm going to work. And I think that's just what I've always done most of my life. So even on this, where it was like, nah, I'm a, I need to go in there and. Did you have around people?
Laura Rosenberg
Did you have to tell everybody at Apple?
Ebro Darden
Yeah, I had to tell everybody. I had to call and then.
Laura Rosenberg
And Laura had to tell the rest of her friends.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, Laura called me.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
And Laura was, you know, I'm picking Esau from school, like literally sitting outside Easter school. And Laura called me hysterical. And I didn't know what happened. So when I pick up the phone, Laura's, I've never heard Laura cry.
Laura Rosenberg
I know, I know.
Ebro Darden
And, and you know, I've been through a lot with Laura and I, you know, I didn't know what she was about to tell me. I had no idea what was about to come out of her mouth when she told me. It was just gut wrenching. And Issa's getting in the car and so it was now, you know, and luckily I've had serious conversations with Issa about, you know, death. And Issa has also had to deal with someone close to her taking their life, her cousin. So we've had to have serious convos about life and death. And so, yeah, and I had to, you know, I had to drive Issa to, I'm driving Issa to an appointment, right? So we're in the car for 45 minutes while I'm calling people.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, no. Yeah, because you had to deal with it for work.
Ebro Darden
Immediately, Immediately. So it was heavy. It was heavy. But Issa is, you know, you know, we were able to talk and we had lunch together and, But I think that was also what, in a moment like that, where you lose someone close to you and you're able to be reminded of a. How Much you love the person you lost. But B, you. You know, shells, was she DJed. Salasi's baby shower or Jazz's baby shower? Our baby shower. So there's that connection, you know, so it's important. It's important. And it's important to. To have these real life moments with your children and your family. Yeah, yeah. As much as we try to run and hide from these moments, unfortunately, it's a part of the human experience. Right. There's. There's no other way to put it. We're all going to have to have these conversations with our children, with our loved ones. You know, someone. I had to tell someone about this, and, you know, they're a younger person, older than Issa, obviously. But somebody I work with that was like, I've never known anybody to die.
Guest or Additional Host
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Like, someone I actually knew, like, I saw every day. Yeah. You know, because there's young people that work at Apple, they still got parents, grandparents, siblings. They've never experienced anything like this before, you know what I mean? And so it's heavy stuff, man. And I appreciate everybody out there in the El army who jumped on Instagram with positive things to say, man. It was one of those moments, too, bro, where, like, I ain't gonna hold you. As much shit as I stir up in hip hop, you know what I mean? Whether it's talking about music and artists and all that, I found myself just wanting to be like, yo, like, I wanted to come in here today on some, like, man, I love everybody, man. You know, whether we, you know, pick you apart for whatever you doing in public or talk shit, it's all under the guise of this thing. We love hip hop, man.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
You know what I mean? And it's not meant to harm or, you know, ruin. Like, I don't think we've ever done anything to try to ruin someone's life. We've always done things to just try to have honest dialogue about hip hop. And I was really going through, like, this whole, like, feeling of, like, man, life is fragile and we're lucky to have this thing that we call hip hop that brought us so many friends
Laura Rosenberg
and opportunities and, well, also, the shells affected so many people, and she was so active and so outside, like, DJing, having a good time, part of the community. That, bro, like, you just in our world, the amount of people pouring their heart out, man, you could just see. And ultimately, it's a hip hop story, you know, she is a hip hop story, and she comes from it. It's who she is. And, man, everybody Was everybody's posts were just so heartfelt. And then also there's the. And I talked to Laura about this the other day. When you're someone like Laura, where it's like your immediate family, it's hard. In one sense, it's. You love seeing people pour their heart out. In another sense, in this era, it's so hard to see the person that was your person become like a heartbreak emoji. Because that's what the era we live. And that's not anything bad. That's just what we. It is just what we are. But you're like, how is. How is this happening to this person? Where I'm seeing prayer hands and this. And this stuff. But it really was overall, just to see the outpouring of love was. Was really nice.
Ebro Darden
And, you know, You have to work to not allow how people. And this is to the point you just said. And just something I was thinking all weekend. You have to work overtime to let people mourn in the fashion that they mourn. And people love in the way that they love. When tragedy strikes, we want as humans to be mad at somebody and to point that anger at something.
Laura Rosenberg
Especially when something.
Ebro Darden
When someone's ripped from your life.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. How are you not angry? You are angry.
Ebro Darden
You can't blame anyone. You're angry. You're in pain. You want that. You want it. You have to work overtime, and this is for everybody that we love and care about in our circle. We have to work overtime to keep bringing the light to this situation. You know what I mean? Like. Like you said. Yeah. Somebody we love is prayer hands and heartbreak emojis. That's what she. This person is way more than that to us. However, for social media and how people engage, that's the most expression or words they could find. I put prayer hands up and I know the person, and I put prayer hands in someone else's emoji.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, sure.
Ebro Darden
Because it was like, I don't have the words.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I'm putting hearts. I don't know what do you. What is. I don't know what to say. Yeah, I see.
Ebro Darden
You know what I mean? And I think that that's, you know, we just have to. We just have to work overtime to stay positive, man, and. And understand that, you know, This human experience thing, man, it's about pain. It's about pain. You know, it's about understanding how much you're not in control and accepting that it really is. Because, man, if you don't accept it, that things can and will happen that you can't stop.
Laura Rosenberg
That's the reverse.
Ebro Darden
Take back something, bruh. It is a lot, man. It is a lot. I've never heard our girl Laura, girl Laura go almost a Gora Lua.
Laura Rosenberg
The Gore Lua.
Ebro Darden
I never heard the Gora Lua probably like that.
Laura Rosenberg
No, no, I, I, she's. And you know, and she, she keeps telling me like that she's struggling and I, I don't have anything to offer except to let yourself be.
Ebro Darden
That's why I told her, I said,
Laura Rosenberg
this isn't a bounce back. This isn't a. We've also gotten like, we've all had people on our periphery over the last many, over the last several years. Like I keep saying, this is her fam. This is not a. I'm sad, I cry, I go to work. This is a. It's going to take her time. This is, this is a war of attrition. This is every day for, for a long time.
Ebro Darden
Well, yeah. And you know, as is with many things on the horizon for a lot of us. Right. It's good practice to feel and continue to feel and not rush through that and take the good days and take the bad days and get up and go again. And get up and go again. Like, don't, don't try to expedite this.
Laura Rosenberg
But it's so hard. You want it to just end because it's so. The feeling that Laura's dealing with is so pointed and unbelievable. Still the waking up out of your sleep, every time crying because you're like, this still can't be real. Just gonna. Yeah, it's get, get through the morning part, get through the afternoon part, get to the evening, and then do your best to get sleep. It's like you got to break up the days just to get through it. So.
Ebro Darden
Rip lady shells forever in our hearts. We love you. I'm gonna get an intro popping.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, you should. Hit a wide bascom. Start us over.
Ebro Darden
Here we go.
Laura Rosenberg
Because there's a lot of good radio crap to talk about today.
Ebro Darden
We're not on the radio anymore.
Laura Rosenberg
You know what? I, we're two radio guys not on the radio.
Ebro Darden
Not that should be the name. We're going to change the name of the show.
Laura Rosenberg
Three Radio Guys not on the Radio. Yeah, cuz, man, it's the, the, the, the, the world of entertainment did its work this weekend for you.
Ebro Darden
Well, which part? The White House Correspondence Dinner Entertainment.
Laura Rosenberg
That, that's like, I can't even decide what's number one in my topic list. Like, is it the White House Correspondence
Ebro Darden
Box office Boomer Right there, that was a box office.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, but people weren't really buying it. It felt like from the beginning didn't hit the same.
Ebro Darden
Bro had a manifesto though. I know he stayed at the hotel, had a manifesto.
Laura Rosenberg
They know a lot about him. He had a lot of thoughts.
Ebro Darden
You know me.
Laura Rosenberg
So that was big.
Ebro Darden
Yep.
Laura Rosenberg
But then box office, the Michael movies, big.
Ebro Darden
We got a whole lot though.
Laura Rosenberg
We have to hold it.
Ebro Darden
Yeah. You want to start off with Michael?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know. But dude, that's what I'm saying. I don't know. And then lastly, in a good old fashioned radio jammy, you got Meg and Clay with the messy breakup.
Ebro Darden
Oh, man, the Internet.
Laura Rosenberg
Was Internet in this weekend? I don't know.
Ebro Darden
I didn't see. So I didn't. Obviously with everything going on, I didn't get into the. To the Internet of it all. I definitely saw White House correspondence dinner stuff yesterday. A lot of. On my algo Ebro's I'll go heavy political.
Laura Rosenberg
And that was, you know, one of the. One of the articles I read in the New York Times was about the Internet's reaction to it because it may have been more than any of the other Trump moments we've had the most instantaneous here are all the theories people are saying. By the way, I'm not mocking that with good reason because taking anything, taking the third supposed assassination attempt at face value completely when afterwards it looks like they're still having a party and he holds an hour long press conference on national television. Yo, they bumped the basketball game.
Ebro Darden
I missed this. All of this.
Laura Rosenberg
They bumped the basketball game. Y' all see this? The Nuggets were playing the T Wolves in the playoffs. The big game with Mike Breen. National. The big game. Yeah, they bumped that over to ESPN from ABC so Trump could have the live presser on national television.
Ebro Darden
So afterwards. So the White House correspondents dinner, I read that Trump has never as president attended.
Laura Rosenberg
Correct.
Ebro Darden
So this is the first one.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Ebro Darden
I also read that they did not have a comedian.
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Ebro Darden
Had illuminator. A mentalist. Magician, basically.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
So no comedian because Trump can't deal with getting roasted.
Laura Rosenberg
Correct.
Ebro Darden
A mentalist. All right, whatever. Then I saw video of them whisking J.D. vance out before Donald Trump.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
I saw them trying to whisk Donald Trump out quickly and fell.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, he's a big man. You can't whisk.
Ebro Darden
There's no whisking.
Laura Rosenberg
No, there are no. There's no whisking with.
Ebro Darden
They fell down trying to get that big boy out of there.
Laura Rosenberg
That's not a whisk. Sit.
Ebro Darden
Fell down trying to get that big boy out of. And then
Laura Rosenberg
he's just out of whisper.
Ebro Darden
I've never heard and I heard saw some former Secret Service people talking about this and other individuals who have worked in security saying that when the Secret Service pulls their guns on you in a situation like that, okay, they're killing you. They did not kill this person.
Laura Rosenberg
From sauce to dust to nuggets, It's Taco Bell's new Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets. Are they mild? If they were mild, they'd have to change the name to Little Rascal Nuggets or Minor Nuisance Nuggets. Definitely Diablo New Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets. A brand new classic only at Taco bell. At participating U.S. taco Bell locations for a limited time and while supplies last.

Laura Rosenberg
That's, you know. You know how crazy it is. I hadn't even thought about how insane that is. I saw the video of him running.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
Sprinting with the supposedly huge gun. And I see other videos of all these Secret Service people.
Ebro Darden
Like, down, down, down, down.
Laura Rosenberg
No one.
Ebro Darden
No. They kill, bro. They kill. That's the job.
Laura Rosenberg
Why would he not be killed?
Ebro Darden
Because of all the conspiracy. I mean, it just. I know it leads to the conspiracy. Then there's a whole thing. Where do you guys have the commercial I sent? It is number. Did we have it on here today?
Laura Rosenberg
This is a wacky one. This is the Usha Vance.
Ebro Darden
The Usha Vance. Cal State, probably that the guy was in a commercial with J.D. vance's wife. You guys didn't put that in today? Because I would. It was so, like. I was like, where did this come from?
Laura Rosenberg
Where was she in the spot I watched. So it was a 2017 wasn't a commercial.
Ebro Darden
It was a news story. That's why I'm sorry. A news thing where they worked on a project together. Are they.
Laura Rosenberg
Where was Usha Vance in it? I saw the guy at the beginning.
Ebro Darden
She was. Worked at the school. I guess she was a guest at the school.
Laura Rosenberg
So the randomness that this guy would have been involved with something related to Usha Vance, people were seeing as step one, that this could be not legit. That, to me, isn't enough.
Ebro Darden
Not enough. All right, so let's go to step two, or, you know, clip two here on the sheet on Ebro's Algo. This is my guy, James Lee. And by my guy, just the guy I follow. Never met the man before.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay, I'm sorry, but none of this seems real, like, at all. You've probably heard by now a suspect armed with knives and guns tried to storm the White House Correspondent's Dinner tonight. The guy's name was Cole Allen, and he was very quickly known, neutralized by security. But then people online started to do a little bit of noticing. Pause to read. Yeah, I don't know about you, but
Ebro Darden
it's starting to look. So his grass shows a lot.
Laura Rosenberg
Beginning with what, right before the start of the event. It'll be funny.
Ebro Darden
It'll be entertaining.
Podcast Sponsor/Ad Voice
There will be some shots fired tonight.
Laura Rosenberg
And then there were the reactions, starting with Erica Kirk being Erica Kirk.
Ebro Darden
I just want to go.
Laura Rosenberg
I have to say, she looks very upset here. Like, way more upset than when her husband. Then we got Dana White just loving this whole thing. It started getting noisy, tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns, and they were screaming, get down.
Ebro Darden
I didn't get down.
Laura Rosenberg
It was awesome. I literally took every minute of it in.
Ebro Darden
And.
Laura Rosenberg
And it was pretty, pretty crazy. Unique experience, totally normal reaction to what is supposedly a presidential assassination attempt. But the most ridiculous thing has to be maybe this coordinated influencer campaign saying, this is why Trump needs a new ballroom.
Guest or Additional Host
I didn't want to say this, but this is why we have to have all of the attributes of what we're planning at the White House. It's actually a larger room, and it's much more secure. It's got. It's drone proof. It's bulletproof glass.
Laura Rosenberg
We need the ballroom.
Guest or Additional Host
That's why Secret Service. That's why the military are demanding it.
Laura Rosenberg
We officially live in the dumbest timeline ever, man. It's drone proof. Because, you know, that's the whole thing, too, is that it's supposedly a complete underground bunker. It's like a.
Ebro Darden
You know, I mean, listen, as soon as the assassination attempt happened and we're called we're going with assassination attempt, I guess, allegedly stage, whatever you want to call it. They get into promoting the ballroom immediately.
Laura Rosenberg
I didn't want to say it, but I'm going to say it. The doctor is Jewish. He just. He went right to it. This is why we need the ball. Because didn't they stop the funding for the ballroom?
Ebro Darden
I don't know. Yeah, the Congress ain't approving it or something.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. So he's currently stopped, right? It's currently stopped. So he. Yo. And. And of course, he's like, and we're gonna come back and do this again in 30 days. Like, we are not gonna be stopped. We're gonna do it bigger and better in 30 days.
Ebro Darden
Well, so I told you guys from the first assassination attempt where people actually died.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
With the. That was the ear. Ear gate.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
With Trump.
Laura Rosenberg
Butler, Pennsylvania.
Ebro Darden
Right. By the way, humans die.
Laura Rosenberg
Right. It happened. Some. Something happened.
Ebro Darden
Right. We've heard from those families. Not at all. So I believe they were paid off. And maybe there'll be a time later on we'll hear from them at some. But we have heard nothing. I looked. There's not a lot of discussion around Butler, Pennsylvania, and those families that were affected by that.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay. That was number one.
Ebro Darden
Okay. Then there was the golf course incident
Laura Rosenberg
that we really got very little on now this.
Ebro Darden
Right. Or was it.
Laura Rosenberg
Was the guy killed from the golf course?
Ebro Darden
I don't think so.
Laura Rosenberg
All right, so you think you'd hear more about that, too. For younger people out there, there was a time when the president getting nearly
Ebro Darden
assassinated or anybody attempting it would be a big deal.
Laura Rosenberg
Like, it would be more than, like, two hours of coverage when there definitely
Ebro Darden
wouldn't be a press conference within the day of the attempt.
Laura Rosenberg
They said President Trump is gonna be speaking from the White House in just a few moments. Although now he's still wearing the tuxedo. The reporters are also wearing their tuxes. This is literally.
Ebro Darden
It's a Made for TV moment. Now, people who wanna. But now there's the other side of this. People who want to believe that this is real love to see the president as this sort of tough guy. Like, nothing stopping him from communicating with his people.
Laura Rosenberg
So funny. Natalie had a. Someone that she knows, a friend's sibling on Facebook. She read me the post of it. Was that pretty literally verbiage? You could say what you want about
Ebro Darden
our president, but that man leaves.
Laura Rosenberg
He stands up.
Ebro Darden
He doesn't go back down. Like, well,
Laura Rosenberg
okay.
Ebro Darden
There's also the side of it where you want to wait until you Understand all the details of an incident before you communicating to them.
Laura Rosenberg
But there is one way to know all the details.
Ebro Darden
You staged them. You wrote them.
Laura Rosenberg
They're your details.
Ebro Darden
Yeah. You have the script.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. You not. No. You wrote the script with other people. They sat in a room and like, here's what's going to happen.
Ebro Darden
And I saw some. I saw some journalists who were in the room on Ms. Now. They were Ms. NOW journalists and shout to them because people were attacking them like they were a part of the production of the White House correspondent. Because they were there and they came out of there visibly shaken. Right. Like, like, so if you're a part of it, when. And that's what they're saying. They're like, yo, why are y' all acting like we're in on this? Just because we were there. We. We went. Because we're journalists. And I don't know for how many generations journalists go to the White House correspondents that are from all different ends of.
Laura Rosenberg
Just because Trump skipped it when he didn't feel like the media didn't.
Ebro Darden
Well, and by the way, journalists from all. Remember, Trump might be president now. The whole Trump thing may have happened now because Obama roasted Trump while Trump was in the audience in 2014.
Laura Rosenberg
13, 14. Yeah.
Ebro Darden
And so the White House Correspondents Dinner, everybody goes with a Republican, Democrat and
Laura Rosenberg
racist celebrities, all type of people go.
Ebro Darden
So just because you were in the audience doesn't mean you knew the script. So if you hear boom, boom, boom, and people are running in with armored gear on and rifles and there's. And you've never been around that sort of thing before, you're going to be shaken and, and come out of there feeling like this was a real thing that just took place?
Laura Rosenberg
I would think so. And they were coming for me. They were coming at them.
Ebro Darden
That's what they were saying. Now, I, I didn't see it myself, but these hosts on Ms. Now, and. Sorry, I. I don't have your name. Oh, one of them is John. I think you say his K part is his name. I think I'm saying that's right. Black guy. Yeah. So shout to John. Salute to you guys. You guys were in the room invisibly. They were visibly upset.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, they definitely wouldn't have known the script. They're not telling Ms. Now. The script.
Ebro Darden
Nah.
Laura Rosenberg
They don't get to know the script.
Ebro Darden
Nah. They're not getting insider on that. So.
Laura Rosenberg
So there are a couple things that I wonder then. So you guys are still going to claim that this was handled well, like they're gonna. They're gonna actually prop up. If this is real, you're telling me you did a good job with security. A guy ran almost all the way into the ballroom planning to take out the entire front table and made it pretty far. And this is seen as a success.
Ebro Darden
Griff, send me the guy's manifesto now. He was teacher of the month, they said. Like, was it la? Last year at some point at the school in Torrance, California's a teacher. He had a manifesto about, you know, I'm not going to allow this. Pedophiles.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, that's. That's the clip. That's.
Ebro Darden
We're gonna get to that clip.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, because he.
Ebro Darden
But the manifesto does not mention President Trump's by name. Doesn't mention. I don't think it mentions anybody specifically by name, but, yeah, get me his manifesto. In the meantime, we got. The chat is active.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Jumping on your iPad.
Laura Rosenberg
Let me pull it up here. Also, I don't know why they're obsessed with. All of you guys have seen this. The New York Post is obsessed with the video of one of a lady grabbing a couple bottles of wine off the table. You seen that? They're like, someone at the correspondence dinner stealing wine. I'm like, they were probably like, we're about to go be in a holding area. You want to scrap and bring a bottle with them? Why are you. That's not crazy.
Ebro Darden
I don't know if that's what you guys want to focus on. I'd be more focused on. The president is obsessed with getting in front of a microphone minutes after a potential assassination attempt.
Laura Rosenberg
And he's joking, by the way. He was doing his regular jokes. It was regular Trump routine. It wasn't more serious than usual. He talked about Iran. He just turned into a presser. You would think if you did talk, it would be like seven minutes. See you later. No, he held up, he posted.
Ebro Darden
They hung out. Let's hang out.
Laura Rosenberg
A ditty truck. Sorry. Diddy Truck just hit us with a straight commercial for $10. They want us to compare truck prices to book movers and do it all with Diddy Truck.
Ebro Darden
All right, you got it.
Laura Rosenberg
You got to spend more than 10 bucks.
Ebro Darden
I might have to send you that 10. $10.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, we can.
Ebro Darden
The name of your truck company is
Laura Rosenberg
what D I T Y Truck.
Ebro Darden
Oh, okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Either way, we can't do commercials for 10 bucks, buddy. I mean, I need a little more than that.
Ebro Darden
Do it. Do it. No, it's not. Do it yourself. That's diy.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I was thinking that to do it the F yourself.
Ebro Darden
Diddy truck is hot.
Laura Rosenberg
JW comes in with five bucks. Yo, jw, with all the money you give us five bucks every day, just
Ebro Darden
subscribe to the Patreon.
Laura Rosenberg
I hope you're on the Patreon. Or get, by the way, every two days, gift a friend Patreon for a month.
Ebro Darden
There you go.
Laura Rosenberg
Like, because every day, they don't even ask. JW doesn't even ask to say anything. Just, here's five years. Five. They take a stupid percentage from this. We do way better on the Patreon. So just. We love you.
Ebro Darden
How much does YouTube take of their donation?
Laura Rosenberg
Like 30%.
Ebro Darden
Wow. And they sell ads against our content that just pop in Ebro.
Laura Rosenberg
Did you see the Young Turks breakdown of ear gate when they show the photographers who took the fight pics being ushered in?
Ebro Darden
Yeah, I've seen that multiple times, actually. I told. Listen, man, I told you guys. How long ago did I tell y' all that the Butler PA was staged?
Laura Rosenberg
Well, Eric Motion says, fun fact, Butler, Penn is the birthplace of Big John Studd. Okay, finally some information I care about. And by the way, I wouldn't even mention this. I'm so done with the Young Turks. Oh, man.
Ebro Darden
What happened with the Young Turks?
Laura Rosenberg
The main dude and the lady f that guy, bro.
Ebro Darden
Wait, what happened?
Laura Rosenberg
Full on. Full on. Best friends with Tucker Carlson. Now he's doing the whole, oh, we both hate. We both hate Israel. I'm just in with everybody. He's with Candace, he's with Tucker. He's doing the whole. No lines anymore. Only this issue.
Ebro Darden
That's it.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm out. Sorry, bro. Damn. Once I see you be. Once I see you, you're a regular. Stop. I started with Piers Morgan. I was like, all right, Piers. He has a lot of different kinds of people. Once I see you on multiple times with Tucker Carlson and promoting Tucker Carlson's content, I'm out, bro. That's a crazy run of being the Young Turks to eventually do that. That is a crazy thing to do. You can still be fully anti Israel and not befriend Tucker Carlson. It's not that hard.
Ebro Darden
Here we go. Is the manifesto.
Laura Rosenberg
You got the manifesto?
Ebro Darden
Oh, hold on.
Laura Rosenberg
99.99. Someone came through with a hundo spot.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
They say sending you all love and light. We're not friends in real life, but in my head, we are. Lol. From being a nurse in Covid to losing my soul cat Arya and everything in between, you all got me through some rough times praying for you all. May she Rest in paradise. Her name is Tebazil. I probably killed your name and I'm sorry for that, but that's very sweet of you. She came through with a hundred spot.
Ebro Darden
All right, here is this guy. What's his name? Let's make sure we put a name on this. Cole.
Laura Rosenberg
Cole Allen.
Ebro Darden
Cole Allen. Manifesto starts with hello everybody, exclamation point. So I may not be given a lot of surprise today. So I may have given a lot of surprise today. Let me start off by apologizing to everyone who whose trust I abused. I apologize to my parents for saying I had an interview without specifying it was for most wanted. Okay, I apologize. I apologize to my colleagues and students for saying I had a personal emergency. By the time anyone reads this, I probably most certainly do need to go to the er, but can hardly call that not a self inflicted status. I apologize to all of the people I traveled next, to all the workers who handle my luggage, and all the other non targeted people at the hotel I put in danger simply by being near. I apologize to everyone who who was abused and or murdered before this, to all those who suffered before I was able to attempt this. To all who may still suffer after regardless of my success or failure. I don't expect forgiveness, but if I for. If I could have seen any other way to get this close, I would have taken it. Again, my sincere apologies on why I did any of this. I am a citizen of the United States of America. What my representatives do reflects on me and I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes. Well, to be completely honest, I was no longer willing a long time ago. But this is the first real opportunity I've had to do something about it. While I'm discussing this, I'll also go over my expected rules of engagement. Probably in a terrible format, but I'm not in the military, so too bad. Administrative officials, not including Mr. Patel. They are targets prioritized from the highest ranking to the lowest. Secret service. They are targets only if necessary and to be incapacitated non lethally if possible. AKA I hope they're wearing body armor because center mass with shotguns messes people messes up people who aren't. Hotel security, not targets. Capital police, same as hotel security. National Guard, same as hotel security. Hotel employees, not targets at all. Guests, not targets at all. In order to minimize casualties, I will also be using buckshot rather than slugs. I would still go through most everyone here to get to the targets if it were absolutely necessary, but I really hope this doesn't come to that. Oh. On the basis that most people chose to attend a speech by a pedophile, rapist, and traitor and are thus complicit.
Laura Rosenberg
What's the second half? This is. He wrote all this too.
Ebro Darden
Wow.
Laura Rosenberg
Thank you to my acquaintances I've met in person online, blah, blah. He signs it Cole Cold Force Friendly, Federal assassin Allen. P.S. okay, now that all the sappy stuff is done, what the hell is the Secret Service doing? Sorry. Gonna rant a bit here and drop the formal tone like I expected. Security cameras at every bit. When did he write this?
Ebro Darden
Is this real?
Laura Rosenberg
This is real. Are you sure?
Ebro Darden
Well, at any rate, Trump then did an interview on 60 Minutes. Do we have that clip of which you heard this manifesto where he says this specific part? I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes. Does not say a name. You don't have the clip.
Laura Rosenberg
That one I know we have, by the way. I have questions about that one too.
Ebro Darden
Trump even doing the interview that fast.
Laura Rosenberg
He did a 60 Minutes interview.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
In which he seemingly got so mad about what was said in the manifesto. I just. None of it. None of it adds up to me. By the way, he doesn't say anything about, like, the war. Did he say anything about the war? This whole thing is just about pedophile and you know what I'm saying, It's all about these crimes. None of it's about the actual things the country is doing. I found that to be weird. Almost like the perfect candidate to be someone for them to pin this on. Another person in the super chat. First Union tv. Love you guys. Can't start my morning without you. Intelligent, hilarious.
Ebro Darden
Oh, I know what happened. Why Rahsaan doesn't have the. The clips. You guys started a chat without Laura Stiles.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Ebro Darden
I don't know who did that.
Laura Rosenberg
I did.
Ebro Darden
Well, he's only pulling stuff from the ELR show chat.
Laura Rosenberg
You didn't see the stuff in the other chat that he probably saw it,
Ebro Darden
but he probably didn't take it and put it in the to for the show. Okay, so that's why you don't have it.
Laura Rosenberg
Is that what we're going with?
Ebro Darden
Well, I'm assuming because that's what happened.
Laura Rosenberg
So that means the only thing you can go with.
Ebro Darden
That's it. That's all I have.
Laura Rosenberg
Do you want. Can you put that in Bascom? He's putting now. Okay, just real quick. I need the backstory on Goralua I just said.
Ebro Darden
I said it screwed up one time and it became a soundbite. Yeah, that's probably the extent of that,
Laura Rosenberg
that there's no deeper story than him calling.
Ebro Darden
I moved the letters around and screwed it up.
Laura Rosenberg
But it's a crazy one to screw up. Like, does it make, like, the Guru Laura and the Gora Lua? It'. It just doesn't like how your brain even did it. It doesn't even make sense. It's, like, harder to do that than to say it right.
Ebro Darden
Than the Guru Lara. But the Goralua.
Laura Rosenberg
Is that in there or no?
Ebro Darden
I'm sure I have it in here somewhere. Let's see if I can find it. Gora Lua. But continue on in the chat while Rahsaan gets his.
Laura Rosenberg
Akeem Broderick said it's all fake just to get to the new BS Ballroom. And Lazy Swagger came in when we were talking about Senk and said, that's Hasan Piker's uncle.
Ebro Darden
Oh, really?
Laura Rosenberg
I know that Hassan Piker started as an intern at the Young Turks as a teenager, so that is possible. Listen, it's facts, okay?
Ebro Darden
The Young Turks aren't above the grift and the pivot and the. And the. And the hustle.
Laura Rosenberg
Nobody is. We've seen it from everybody.
Ebro Darden
Like, they got to keep. They got to keep, you know, the lights on, too.
Laura Rosenberg
I just can't understand how people keep getting blinded by this.
Ebro Darden
Blinded? It's not blinded. It's just strange bedfellows.
Laura Rosenberg
But. But you don't need to have bedfellows. You can. You can see that someone.
Ebro Darden
But everybody's doing it. Rosenberg. What? If you're saying you don't need it, everyone is doing it for their own click algo gain.
Laura Rosenberg
Like, even. Even the Candace, for example. Candace, now she sits down with what's my man's name, who the fake dumb ambiguously raced Charlie Kirk.
Ebro Darden
The guy who fake dumb ambiguously raced Charlie Kirk is a wild.
Laura Rosenberg
Thank you, Myron. That guy Myron. Candace Owens. You're trying.
Ebro Darden
Myron is black. I just.
Laura Rosenberg
Is he. He's black.
Ebro Darden
I mean, he's Sudanese. He's African.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, he's Sudanese. I don't want to put that on black people. So I'm just calling.
Ebro Darden
I didn't even know who Myron was a few months ago, and you guys was like, you don't know who Myron is?
Laura Rosenberg
Because.
Ebro Darden
Well, then everybody sent me pictures of Myron.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, people were upset that you didn't
Ebro Darden
know who Myron was. And also even called me, like, a lot like that's one thing is people call me a liar for not knowing things.
Laura Rosenberg
That's. By the way, guys, there. I just want to say to people who say that to you, bro, there are times in life I feel that way. But I know him well enough to know he's not lying and he just has weird algorithm blind spots.
Ebro Darden
Well, no, but I had seen the guy's face. I don't know him by Myron.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't. You know him by douchebag.
Ebro Darden
I saw him yelling at some girls in a podcast.
Laura Rosenberg
That's right. That's right. That's who he is.
Ebro Darden
And every time I saw his face after that, I just kept moving that.
Laura Rosenberg
Because you're intelligent. But to that point, someone like Candace Owens, who these people take seriously now, she platforms Myron.
Ebro Darden
But my around with the Fuentes is And all the other races.
Laura Rosenberg
Where's the. Where's the pro Holocaust shirts all the
Ebro Darden
time with these people. Man. Stop, man. I'm not doing. But by the way, it's so egregious and offensive.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
That my brain sometimes it glitches. I know. And it goes straight to. All these people are unserious. They're. None of them are.
Laura Rosenberg
I know.
Ebro Darden
They're all unserious people.
Laura Rosenberg
I get it.
Ebro Darden
So let me just go ahead and talk about Megan Thee stallion and.
Laura Rosenberg
And which we're not doing a good job of. Do you have the clip yet?
Ebro Darden
Of Ask him.
Laura Rosenberg
Still needs longer. Yeah. I don't even know if we're gonna get to. Are we gonna even get to Megan and Clay?
Ebro Darden
Well, I tell y' all what, since we're on it. When I walked in today, 15 minutes before the show started and y' all was gathered around with your computers open dilly dallying. Nobody went through any of the combos to make sure we had all the clips. Y' all was in here eating cashews and chilling. It blows my mind that y' all sat down as a collective and nobody went through. We don't have the biggest clip of the day. Ready? Trump talking to 60 Minutes.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, that one. I thought when it came through last night was the clear. This is the hammer.
Ebro Darden
There's a chat discrepancy. You removed Laura.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, yeah. I didn't want Laura to get every little thing that we had throughout the night. That's like, hey. Because now we're just talking about dumb, you know? Yeah, I.
Ebro Darden
You know.
Laura Rosenberg
You know how I feel about chats.
Ebro Darden
That's your thing. That's your thing.
Laura Rosenberg
I have a very strong.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
Chat. Maybe I'M wrong.
Ebro Darden
Maybe she muted the chat.
Laura Rosenberg
Maybe she. But I see the mute never works for me. What do you mean, still seeing it? Because even when you mute it, it's still coming to the top of your text every time.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, but she may have it. Like, I have it, right? You don't have your. Let me see. You don't have your text prioritized. Like, it depends at the top. You don't pin the important people at the top.
Laura Rosenberg
I only have Natalie, so I have
Ebro Darden
Jazz, I have Issa, and I have
Laura Rosenberg
a couple of work chats, including Art,
Ebro Darden
including Eli, including this one. So. Oh, if I mute it, there's a thing there, but there's nothing popping up the list of chats.
Laura Rosenberg
I guess that's a good idea to just put that always at the top and mute it so then when I want to be in it, I'm in it, and when I'm not, like, a genius. How'd you do that? So are we just for a second then? Cause I'm trying to stall for Bascom for another minute here. I don't know how long this clip is. I thought it was like 40 seconds. But are we not going to get to Michael today? I think Michael's now feeling like a Tuesday topic.
Ebro Darden
No, we got to get to Michael today. Today's gonna be a longer show. We spent the first 10 minutes of the show rip lady shot.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. So we're gonna push it. We're gonna do an extra 10.
Ebro Darden
We gotta do some other stuff now. Manifesto I read to y' all a few minutes ago, the man that mentions. Does not mention Trump by name. And then he did this interview yesterday.
Podcast Sponsor/Ad Voice
The so called manifesto is a stunning thing to read, Mr. President. He appears to reference a motive. In it, he writes this, quote, administration officials, they are targets.
Ebro Darden
And he also wrote this.
Podcast Sponsor/Ad Voice
I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes. What's your reaction?
Guest or Additional Host
Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you're. You're. You're horrible people. Horrible people. Yeah, he did write that. I'm. I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody.
Podcast Sponsor/Ad Voice
Oh, you think he was referring to you?
Guest or Additional Host
Excuse me, I'm not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated. Your friends on the other side of the plate are the ones that were involved with, let's say, Epstein or other things But I said to myself, you know, I'll do this interview and they'll probably. I read the manifesto. You know, he's a sick person, but you should be ashamed of yourself reading that. Because I'm not any of those things, Mr. President. And I was never. Excuse me, you shouldn't be reading that. That in 60 minutes. You're a disgrace. But go ahead. Let's finish the interview.
Podcast Sponsor/Ad Voice
The other thing that he wrote in Disgraceful.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo, I just wish someone. I. I just. Wouldn't it be amazing if someone said, watch your mouth. Don't you ever call me a disgrace. Don't you ever in your life say, what would he do? If someone said, don't you ever in your life call me a disgrace. Ever in your life.
Ebro Darden
What if she just completely flipped and was like, no, sir, you're a disgrace. Look at you.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
What if she was just like, look at you. And looked him up and down. Was like, look at you. You have orange on your face. Look at your hair. You wear a diaper. You haven't. You're up here sitting with me right now. You haven't even fixed Iran. You've lied multiple times about Iran. You can't even fix it. You've lost control. What if she just completely was like, you've lost control.
Laura Rosenberg
That's you. You're the taco man.
Ebro Darden
Oh, she'd be finished. That's what she would be.
Laura Rosenberg
Or she'd be hot, but she'd be also hot. But she on fire.
Ebro Darden
She would be so outta here. They were hit of that. But, yo, the book, she could drop right after that.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, be so big.
Ebro Darden
Oh, man.
Laura Rosenberg
So. So I'm just trying to figure it all out. They're saying this guy wrote that manifesto 10 minutes before it happened. That's what they're saying, bruh.
Ebro Darden
I can't get off too far in the weeds on all of this. I know the manifesto, all right, but stupid idea, sir. Dumb idea. All right, by who? By him and whoever scripted this out.
Laura Rosenberg
By the writers.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, it was a dumb idea. But it's got us talking. It's got. Not talking about Iran.
Laura Rosenberg
Yep.
Ebro Darden
It's got us not talking about the fact that the White House correspondence dinner was going to be a snooze fest because nobody would have got on the mic and cracked jokes about the disaster that the nation is in. They didn't want that to happen. So if you really think of it at that level, you go, oh, nothing. This was going to be the worst White House correspondence dinner ever. The first one that Trump Was attending and it turns into this chaotic now.
Laura Rosenberg
It's the biggest one they've ever had now.
Ebro Darden
And which is what he always wants. It's just ratings. Just the big ratings, ratings, ratings. He's putting on a show constantly.
Laura Rosenberg
They got national. It went from being on C Span
Ebro Darden
to being on ABC to people actually caring.
Laura Rosenberg
Cnn, Fox News, everybody covering. They got the biggest reporters in the world all on cell phone on camp. Like they're on cnn. They're talking to Wolf Blitzer who's on the phone on Fox. On Fox. They're talking to Brett Baird who's on the phone because the weekend people are talking to the big time people because they're at the event.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, man.
Laura Rosenberg
So they made it the hottest thing possible and.
Ebro Darden
And wait for it. Now they need a ballroom.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, it's crazy. All right. We got to move on from this though. We realistically come. Are we. You want to talk Clay Meg or you want to talk Michael?
Ebro Darden
Well, let's get into Michael Jackson. But Clay Meg is quick. It's not that long.
Laura Rosenberg
But I want to give you credit for something.
Ebro Darden
What's that?
Laura Rosenberg
How right you were. Yeah, he bro. Nailed it, bro.
Ebro Darden
I just want to say, what did I nail?
Laura Rosenberg
If you recall, when we got the information that they were dating?
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
My response was, oh, I like this for Clay. He's like a nerdy three point shooter on the Warriors. And you, your light skinned defense system kicked in and you were like, nah,
Ebro Darden
nah, nah, don't try to play my light skinned brother.
Laura Rosenberg
You really did. You were like for. You're like, you know, Klay Thompson on the low might be a weed smoking, cigar smoking kind of player type. And you're mislabeling him because the way he plays basketball and the way he looks. But you're like, but who is he really? If you look at how this whole thing played out, he looked like a dude who didn't feel like dealing with Meg thee stallion. Well, that's what it felt like.
Ebro Darden
All right. I would also like to add, you can't reason with the sun. Trust us, we've tried. This summer, it's time to put that angry ball of fire on mute. Columbia's Omnishade technology is engineered to protect you from the sun's harsh rays that can burn and damage your skin. The sun is relentless. But so is our gear. Level up your summer@columbia.com to spend more time outside and less time slathering on aloe lotion. You're welcome. Columbia Engineered for whatever. Okay. A professional athlete that has been making A gazillion dollars for however long Klay Thompson's been in the league. How long has he been in the league?
Laura Rosenberg
I'm gonna give you his career earnings real quick because they're a lot. But 12 years, something like that.
Ebro Darden
And we've never known any of Klay Thompson's Nothing. Personal interests. 14 years in the NBA, he's over how many rings?
Laura Rosenberg
He's over 300 million.
Ebro Darden
He's made over $300 million in the league. How many rings? Four.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Three or four rings. And you've never known about him dating anybody?
Laura Rosenberg
I think all he can do.
Ebro Darden
He was with Kendall. I think so, yeah. All right, I'll go with it. Rahsaan said, whatever.
Laura Rosenberg
That sounds pretty good.
Ebro Darden
It doesn't change my point. My point is, is we've all. You've all assumed a man who makes $300 million and has four championship rings is running around with Steph. Ain't out here bagging joints.
Laura Rosenberg
Facts.
Ebro Darden
What a terrible. Y' all made that out of. I don't know why.
Laura Rosenberg
Because Meg is a big deal, and you go, oh, wow, you're with Meg. This looks cool.
Ebro Darden
You know what a bigger deal is? $300m for NBA rings, national television, on the warriors, by the way, and getting chips. Big deal. But I say all that to say that I believe this is more indicative of an athlete who's been at the top of his game for a long time.
Laura Rosenberg
And apparently he's still at the top of his game.
Ebro Darden
Stop And. But not really, though, because I believe that he wanted and tried to be somebody that he wasn't.
Laura Rosenberg
Yup.
Ebro Darden
Meg was over there with the family. She even wrote in her little. Her. I was gonna call it manifesto in her IG post.
Laura Rosenberg
No, not a manifesto.
Ebro Darden
I just had manifesto on the mind. Yeah, in her IG post about, you know, I. I went to the family, and I'm doing this, and I'm doing that. I don't believe Clay would have introduced you to his family if he wasn't serious. Once again, I don't know, Clay. Maybe that's a part of the jokes. I don't know. But I would assume that someone over there with the family and the way y' all was trying to make family moments and Thanksgivings and holidays, that he was probably trying. The problem is he's used to being a different person. And I think that a lot of people got to learn when men who are used to being outside, women who are used to being outside running around, getting money, hustling, and the life is changing. In an athlete's context. He had a terrible season last year, didn't he? This is like the beginning of the end.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, it's the beginning of the end. Yeah.
Ebro Darden
I don't know if it's been terrible, but. But, But. Okay, let's not call it terrible. But anyway, the beginning of an end for an athlete or someone who's used to performing at a certain level, very hard, causes someone's ego to spiral.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
And. And I'm not making excuses. He's a cheater. According to Megan, he screwed up. I think he. If he would have been more aware and honest of where he is in his life, he might have been able to handle this a little differently.
Laura Rosenberg
Can I just say, though, back to the algorithm hustling.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Why did Meg need to put this up in an IG story?
Ebro Darden
Because she probably wanted to get ahead of it because she's.
Laura Rosenberg
People can't just break up. You can't just break up.
Ebro Darden
No. People would have made a story. It would have turned into something. She was probably trying to get ahead of it. Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, maybe there's like.
Ebro Darden
And. Oh, by the way. By the way. I don't know. She was doing most of the posting in the relationship anyway. He was in her social media. She was doing that. She was coming off of all of the. The. The noise that she had and trauma she had to deal with and felt like she found it, found a good dude, and was very happy to celebrate being in a. What seemed to be a healthy relationship. Or maybe they both intended it to be and it didn't turn out that way. But by the way, Megan's hot and fly. Clay is sought after in his own regard. I'm sure people go through this type of thing all the time. This isn't abnormal. People are acting like this is abnormal.
Laura Rosenberg
The only abnormal thing to me is that you like literally an IG story where you detail how. Why you and your partner broke up to me is odd, but that's not really.
Ebro Darden
Bro, nobodies do this.
Laura Rosenberg
The details.
Ebro Darden
Nobody's do this. People. We don't.
Laura Rosenberg
But that's. Regular. People are weird.
Ebro Darden
No, but that's.
Laura Rosenberg
I went through an entire whole divorce. But be normal. Keep your ish together.
Ebro Darden
But that's not necessarily.
Laura Rosenberg
Listen. No, it's not normal. Bro.
Ebro Darden
Listen.
Laura Rosenberg
It's not normal.
Ebro Darden
Listen. You're not listening.
Laura Rosenberg
Your mood swings during your season. Now you don't know if you can be monogamous. These are quotes you share with your girlfriends. Like, why are you. Why do people. Why I'm Not. I'm not mad at Mega. Why as a culture do we think because it's normal?
Ebro Darden
So because you was in the AOL chats, it all started with you and you guys face and Facebook sharing all your business use. A part of that generation. You contributed to this, and now it's here.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't understand what you just said, but I just. I don't get why.
Ebro Darden
No, but people do this all the time. No, I know Facebook posts when. Remember you change the relationship. The thing on the Facebook. Complicated. That's like been a thing for a long time.
Laura Rosenberg
This is a very detailed version of. It's complicated. I hear what you're saying.
Ebro Darden
You know what I'm saying. But it's just. And by the way that she was sharing a bunch of other stuff.
Laura Rosenberg
What you mean throughout.
Ebro Darden
Throughout their. Their interaction, their relationship?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. Yeah, she did. Maybe too much. That's part of it.
Ebro Darden
And that's part of her learning.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Right. What's Megan. Is Megan 30?
Laura Rosenberg
Barely.
Ebro Darden
So she, you know, she's grown up.
Laura Rosenberg
But I saw people like. I saw Hasan Piker put up a post. That's Hasan Piker generational bag drop by Clay. By Clay the Fumble, bruh. I. I don't know what their situation is. Maybe she's the best girl ever. And he really did fumble the bag. But based on just her being successful and attractive, that's not enough reason for that to be a fumble. For Klay Thompson, to your point, he's a future hall of famer worth $300 million. He is going to be. I.
Ebro Darden
But it also might be a fumble.
Laura Rosenberg
It might be, but we don't know.
Ebro Darden
I fumbled. We don't know. And once again, it doesn't mean this is true. But if we're taking it at face value, generally speaking, when someone invites someone over for the holidays to be with family and create a family moment, they that says, I want to take this serious. Generally speaking, I don't feel like Clay was ready to take this serious. Bros used to being outside that.
Laura Rosenberg
That sounds right.
Ebro Darden
And felt like while he was traveling, he was up to his old shenanigans. Remember, they're still on the road, bro.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, yeah.
Ebro Darden
Megan's over here. He's over there. The team is trash. I'm having trash night. She said mood swings. You know what happened with those mood swings? He went and tried to find something to put him in a good mood because you were working on the play on Broadway and he's in, I don't know, wherever. Usa.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I mean, it's A story.
Ebro Darden
No, I know, but I'm just saying he wasn't. He was. He wasn't ready.
Laura Rosenberg
And we think of him as, like, old in the grand scheme of life. He's not that old.
Ebro Darden
What is he, 38? Not even 37.
Laura Rosenberg
37. Listen, it's not that old.
Ebro Darden
You know what I was doing at 37?
Laura Rosenberg
A version of this.
Ebro Darden
No.
Laura Rosenberg
Minus 300 million.
Ebro Darden
Minus 300 million. No championship rings and no relationship in sight.
Laura Rosenberg
Right. Wanted to be outside at 37. It's not surprising that he still does.
Ebro Darden
I was not ready for yo. At 37. 37. I was not ready. I had Issa at 39.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro Darden
I was not. I would tell people, yeah, check this out.
Laura Rosenberg
May not go how you want it to go.
Ebro Darden
We can negotiate. Right. Which he was trying to do. It says he was trying to negotiate.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, but remember, he said, I can't be monogamous. He didn't say, I don't want to be with you.
Ebro Darden
That's right. He said he's trying to negotiate. He's letting you know I still got
Laura Rosenberg
these shots from distance every once in a while. It may. I may struggle. It may struggle on the court going down, but after the game is when I succeed. And by the way, the biggest star on that team. Kyrie's hurt. Don Shits. Traded Cooper. Flags a kid. He's the. You know, when they roll into town and the groupies are at the hotel, Klay Thompson is the top target. That's Klay Thompson. He's walking the hotel. Oh, wait.
Ebro Darden
Read what you put up again from the warriors, and then we'll switch to Mike.
Laura Rosenberg
Why is that guy from the warriors here with the bum ass Mavericks?
Ebro Darden
Let me.
Laura Rosenberg
All right. Cheating.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Had me around your whole family playing house.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Got, quote, cold feet. Quote, by the way. So he said that holding you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don't know if you can be, quote, monogamous Bitch. I need a real break after this one. Bye, y'. All.
Ebro Darden
How long, by the way? How long were they together?
Laura Rosenberg
They got to the July 2025. Not a year.
Ebro Darden
They didn't make it a year. Now, Meg, I agree. You need a break after this one and your hopes were up, bruh. It shouldn't have to be this hard in the first year. And I say this to anybody out there who's in a relationship or trying to be. If in the first year it doesn't feel like joy and fun, you might want to consider a pivot.
Laura Rosenberg
I Think that's a great call by
Ebro Darden
you because let me tell you what's happening in year nine.
Laura Rosenberg
Bless, joy and fun.
Ebro Darden
Let me tell you what's happening in year 19. So if the first few years isn't
Laura Rosenberg
just like euphoria, I mean, euphoria is tough in 2026. But I hear what you're saying, but
Ebro Darden
you know what I mean. At least not feeling like, nah, it's
Laura Rosenberg
like horrible mood swings, like terrible treatment during the season.
Ebro Darden
And by the way, Megan, Megan, you did the right thing. Rosenberg may not agree with the whole post or whatever, but you saw things happening in the first year. He clearly came to you and was like, ah, this might be doing too much too fast for me. Says cold feet.
Laura Rosenberg
Yep.
Ebro Darden
You don't want to be monogamous in some ways if you already dealt with the cheating and that happened and that came out and he's telling you. Or maybe it was one of those situations where it came out, all this came out same time where she was like, yo, I heard I got crazy. You cheating on me, blah, blah. He was like, yo, I don't even. This might be too much for me. I don't know if I can do this. I don't know if I can be monogamous. And then it was, all right, well, I'm out and I'm out and it's over. It might all happen at the same time.
Laura Rosenberg
For the record, I'm good with all that. The only thing I'm saying is for that short a period, I don't know that it needs the whole explanation to the world, it didn't work out. Sounds like 10.
Ebro Darden
He's not ready for something serious. I was.
Laura Rosenberg
And it doesn't say. And she says cheating. We all, we do all know.
Ebro Darden
Could have been Sexton, could have been a lot of things.
Laura Rosenberg
It could be interpretation, but it could
Ebro Darden
also be full on.
Laura Rosenberg
Could be. If it's a basketball player, is it really cheating? I mean, come on. He's still actively leaving Rosenberg with the boy.
Ebro Darden
Congratulations. Yes, bro, it's cheating. If you gave somebody your word that this was the terms of the relationship was monogamy. It's just you, da, da, da, da. And by, by the way, for all y' all trying to do the monogamy thing, whatever. If there's things you haven't covered off in what that means you probably should early, right? Because some people say, I don't like you going to strip club. That's cheating. I don't agree. And a lot of people wouldn't. But some people Be like, I don't want no girl rubbing her junk all in your face. That's cheating to me. I don't care if you paid for it or not.
Laura Rosenberg
For sure, some girls consider porn cheating.
Ebro Darden
Tell you something, you can blow my whole relationship up right right now.
Laura Rosenberg
Now there's a couple things we gotta deal with. So I hear what you're saying about my wife.
Ebro Darden
Just what she said.
Laura Rosenberg
She texted me. Wow. Which, by the way, she says about everything.
Ebro Darden
Wow. No.
Laura Rosenberg
No euphoria for you in the first year, bet. Aw, babe, it was euphoria the first year. I'm just saying that that terminology may be making it hard on people like you. I don't know. Euphoria?
Ebro Darden
No, but it feels.
Laura Rosenberg
It shouldn't be problems. It should feel really good where you're like, man, I found my person.
Ebro Darden
This is. Whoo. Listen, we just celebrated nine years. Nine. We just had anniversary. Nine years.
Laura Rosenberg
Nine years.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
That was quick.
Ebro Darden
I love my life, man. Still, I'm so. But once again, I got in relationship
Laura Rosenberg
when you were ready.
Ebro Darden
I was. Yeah. I was ready to be monogamous. I was ready to have family. I was ready to work on this as a thing, you know what I mean? And it's provided me a lot of upside. Let me tell you something, guys. Monogamy, lot of upside.
Laura Rosenberg
Not upside, a lot of work.
Ebro Darden
Well, not all of it. But when the health benefits, the sleep benefits, by the way, there's a financial upside too, you know?
Laura Rosenberg
You know, men are healthier physically in relationships and women are healthier physically single.
Ebro Darden
Really?
Laura Rosenberg
Foul. Foul.
Ebro Darden
Probably because they give so much of themselves to us.
Laura Rosenberg
No, they put themselves. And this is statistics. I'm not making this up.
Ebro Darden
The real thing.
Laura Rosenberg
Men live longer in relationships. Women live shorter.
Ebro Darden
Damn it.
Laura Rosenberg
I know. We are pieces of shit.
Ebro Darden
I hate to say literally sucking the life out, but.
Laura Rosenberg
But your point remains the same. We need to have some serious conversation about the show on the show.
Ebro Darden
About which show?
Laura Rosenberg
This show.
Ebro Darden
On our show.
Laura Rosenberg
Right now.
Ebro Darden
Right now. Okay. Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't think we can do Michael today. I think Michael requires more time. I have a couple of thoughts on that. Also, we have a guest that we're sitting down to record with about the great Chiyose. We're going to talk to him about Deep.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
He's been waiting for us, listening to our. Our show. Okay, so we got to talk to
Ebro Darden
Chiyo, say Michael Jackson tomorrow. Give it another day.
Laura Rosenberg
Or. I also think. I think we should do spend some time on Michael tomorrow. But I also think our Patreon this week could be a big Michael Patreon too. You want to super detail play music.
Ebro Darden
Well then also then it's a spoiler alert too.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, the Patreon.
Ebro Darden
Well, any Michael Jackson talk.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, but is it. What do you mean spoiler alert?
Ebro Darden
Well, so that's the whole point. Which is why some people don't like the movie.
Laura Rosenberg
There's. What do they mean spoiler Because.
Ebro Darden
Well, but that's what I'm saying. You're saying what do you mean spoiler? We all know the story. It's a movie about the story that you already know.
Laura Rosenberg
Correct.
Ebro Darden
That's why some people have a problem with the movie.
Laura Rosenberg
Because they didn't get something. They didn't know.
Ebro Darden
It just didn't feel. It's like, well, why am I here? Well, what's going on? And then there's the.
Laura Rosenberg
I've so many scripts.
Ebro Darden
I have so many left out because
Laura Rosenberg
the movie ended in this guy behind us and he was being loud the whole movie. So I think he was just an a hole. But at the end he. When it ended, he went, what? It's over. What do you think was happening, bro? You thought they were going up to now. You thought they would have Dr. What's his face and the propofol, bro.
Ebro Darden
I tell you right now, when we left, Jazz was like, I'm glad it's over. I couldn't deal. I didn't want to see oh later.
Laura Rosenberg
She didn't want him further.
Ebro Darden
She was like, that was great. I loved it. She was. Was crying.
Laura Rosenberg
It was the moment to stop.
Ebro Darden
If anything.
Laura Rosenberg
If anything, I thought they didn't need the last concert scene. I thought when he was about to walk on stage and you heard the. I thought it be that could have
Ebro Darden
ran the credits with that scene.
Laura Rosenberg
Cuz you would just watch the concert.
Ebro Darden
And that's why. That's why I told you at the end. I felt like you was you overload. You're trying to give me like an extra five minutes. I don't want it. I want it. But either way I would have ra. I would have rather learned. Learned about Quincy and Mike and meeting during the whiz and him being in New York City. You can't just jump straight to off the wall.
Laura Rosenberg
Let's save that. Let's save it. Save it. Thank you everybody for being with us. Great show. Subscribe. If you don't subscribe, subscribe to the Patreon.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
If you want hijinks like we're talking about.
Ebro Darden
Well, and also King Lou's upset that we're not going to get to 100,000 subscribers by. You gave up. Don't give up.
Laura Rosenberg
It's ebbs and flows, bro. All we got to do is have Ebro come for Drake, like later this week.
Ebro Darden
I can't talk about Drake anymore.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, damn. Can you come for someone else, though?
Ebro Darden
I can't talk about Drake because every time I talk about Drake, it's like we're using Drake to get algorithms.
Laura Rosenberg
Iceman Cometh. You know what I mean?
Ebro Darden
How fast is the Iceman?
Laura Rosenberg
How fast is the Iceman coming?

Release Date: April 27, 2026
Hosts: Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, Peter Rosenberg
This episode centers on the hosts’ raw grief and tribute following the tragic loss of their close friend and industry colleague, DJ Lady Chellez (“Lady Shells”), who passed away in a car accident. The first half is an emotional remembrance of Shells, emphasizing community, loss, and the human experience. The second half pivots to vibrant, critical commentary on the wildest news stories of the weekend: conspiracy theories about an alleged assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, messy celebrity breakups (Megan Thee Stallion & Klay Thompson), and media culture at large. The show’s trademark: humor and blunt, honest conversation.
