So you can't go from that and then say that a George Floyd joke, that's the one that's too far. But it wasn't funny. It wasn't delivered well. It didn't hit. So then you take it out of context and you're really like, well. And then, you know, it's the person delivering it who people think is a racist. People don't like Tony Hinchcliffe. They don't trust him.

It's also, they want to work quick because they have the people in place, and the faster you do it, it gives people less time to find out, you know what I'm saying? Because people can be mad afterwards, but too late. You know what I mean?

And generally, people trying to get bad things done, you know, they don't have any moral code to make them go, you know, cross T's and dot eyes, so they just go, go, go, go, go.

And a whole other issue in New Jersey, I know we're trying to get Mikey Cheryl on again. They're putting in those. Those AI data centers out in a couple of towns in New Jersey. And the towns are like, we just found out about this, and we didn't vote for this.

Yes. Most of them are like, that Ebro and.

And the. The power drain on the community of 250,000 homes in some of these towns that only have, like, 100,000 people.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you seen how it affects their water? Like, have you seen those mini docks that people basically, like, come inside and see what it is to live by? One of these centers, like, she turns on the water and it's like, barely Any water. And they're talking about how everything is unaffordable. They're having so many problems with their electricity, it just affects the quality of life altogether, and there's nothing you can do about it.

And so whole towns are sitting in front of their, you know, their. Their city, city board or mayors or whatever. Like, no one voted for this. Nobody wants this except you guys. Oh, and you're giving them tax breaks.

And. And by the way, how many jobs are they giving people?

According to the community, the. None to them.

They're bringing in their own people.

So. And why is it. Why is it so cost, like, problematic to do AI?

Well, because you have computing costs in the power supply.

It's that. But why? It just seems like we didn't really figure it out yet the way that they needed to figure it out.

Well, no. Well, but that was the whole hustle, the whole scam of the AI thing. Were these big tech companies saying, you know, because if you think about it, over the last year, we got inundated with AI, headlines, everything. Yeah. And what that did was that drove investment. Right. For people in the market to say, I'm gonna invest in these companies that specialize in AI, which drove their stock price, and people cashed out, made million, their stock price went up, etc, etc. That doesn't mean that the business is ready to go.

Right.

That just means that they want your money so you can invest, so they can use your money to build out the thing that they're selling you on. It's kind of like the Trump phones. Right?

Right. But they can at least get something out. It's just not being done well or efficient.

Well, no, but the sustainability of the thing, a lot of times there's great ideas, but is it sustainable? Can. Can you keep it going? Right. Like, that's what we're gonna watch when you drop your podcast. Validate me. Great idea.

Can you sustain.

Can you sustain it? Can you keep this going on a regular basis? Even when we did this, right, People were like, sounds great. Y' all gonna do it every day. Remember all those conversations were like. People were like, you're gonna do this every day? We were like, we already do it every day.

So I'm just looking at up at different ways that it affects communities. So the pollution is wild because they use large arrays of backup diesel generators, and it leads to significant localized air pollution during testing and powder outages and just harms public health altogether. And then it. Imagine your little baby with you, and you can't even go outside because it's so bad. And it also a single data center can consume up to 2 megawatt hours of power and millions of gallons of water annually for cooling and you know.

Millions of gallons.

Yep. And that explains the water pressure that the lady was talking about. There's so much that we don't know yet because it's so new.

Once again, sustainability.

Because the demand on the power drives up costs. And how about this? I read an article the other day. Many companies that were thinking about how they're going to use AI to support their companies, support their workers, whatever they were going to do came to find out that there's actual. And I'm using quotes here because this is what it said in the article computing costs. So not only you have to pay for AI to work for same you pay for chat GPT.

No, I don't. But yeah you do. People.

But like if you wanted to do more stuff, you gotta pay. It's not free.

So that those costs. So if you want AI personalized to your company or whatever it is, there's costs associated with that. It is not a free thing. Or like when we think about, oh, we just Google something. Well, Google sells advertising, so that's how they're offsetting the cost probably for us to use Google for free.

Well, if you want, it's a much lower intensity thing to much lower intensity.

But if you want more from Google. Right. They have premium, they have this, they're going to charge you for different things because all of this computation has costs not only for the people running it, but for the power demand. So it's not just like a, you know, hey, flip a switch, you guys got something cool.

So all of this whole thing of all the businesses being like, we're going to figure out how we're going to use AI and we're going to use AI and everyone's using AI, but no one's thinking about that the actual use of AI has a cost to the world.

That's right. Well and how about this? Let's, let's even talk about that cost. Let's talk about, let's say AI removes all of our jobs but provides you guys tune in 8am but and there's a great show going on. Okay, that money, right, that, that was saved because they used AI. Now they have to spend for the computing cost. So there's still cost. Oh and oh by the way, the people you got rid of aren't spending money in the community now. They're not going to the barbershop they're not going to on vacations. So not only did you lose because you're paying extra computing costs, you lost actual money going back into the economy because it's just going to a corporation to fund computing costs. So it's not this AI thing. Doesn't seem like it's shaping up good. What you got, Griff?

They were like, oh, my God, Black owned the majority.

have any friends of the opposite sex? And if so, how do you navigate managing those friendships? At a time when I feel society is forcing our kids to grow up faster than needed, I'm battling giving my daughter the space to be able to be in social settings with her friends, with being hypersensitive to preventing behaviors that could potentially cross boundaries. My daughter's 8 years old and has a close friend of the opposite sex. The other day, while driving them, by the way, can we just start out by saying that is such a wordy way to describe a boy? Yeah, like, why are we starting here? It's like my daughter has a friend who's a boy. Yeah, let's calm this down a notch. The other day, while driving them home from an activity, I noticed them in the backseat and he was playfully feeding his snack to her. I instantly told him to stop and after dropping him home, proceeded to try to have a conversation with her about being cognizant of behaviors that are not necessary or could be seen as inappropriate. I do want to preface this with we've had this conversation plenty of times before. But I'm also navigating a world where this generation seems more touchy feely and into doing the dumbest things than I remember going through when I was younger kid. My concerns don't stem from past traumas, but instead are rooted in a manner of wanting to be a conscientious and mindful parent. How do you have these conversations without aging your kids? Slash, opening them up to topics that they may not even be thinking of. For example, you're getting older, you shouldn't be sitting on people's laps, etc. Signed a conscious, conscientiously concerned mom.

Well, first eight first. Well, let me answer the first question you most of Issa's friends that are boys are kids of my friends. So in effect we is like, you know, cousins, black people, cousins. So. And then she's got her friends from school who are boys. Right. And I think they have a group chat or something like that.

That they're all in. Right. So yes, I guess would be the answer to her first question. She has friends who are boys.

The second thing I would say is you have to work as a parent to not look at everything through your adult lens. Right away. The first response to like, if, if I saw a boy feeding Issa food, let's say would be to hat would be to be like, yo, you don't know where his hands have been. Don't let him put that in your mouth. Not make it some intimate thing.

It's unlikely that.

Yeah, like you're jumping. And she's eight, bro. Like you're are, you're jumping way ahead and putting ideas, as she acknowledged in her email, in their head. So you're, you got to stop looking at everything through your lens.

opposite sex, which, which also is just a peculiar way to write. So I think you have to do some unpacking on why you're there. And I was, I guess she kind of said, I think her interpretation of young people today is that they're because of social media, they're export exposed to more. And that's probably true.

But that doesn't mean you're less touchy feely today though.

Well, according to reports, I don't know. But, but, but once again, just because you're exposed doesn't mean you're interested it. And so you have to, you have to know your child.

Yeah. And I think it's a case by case basis. Like if you don't want her sitting on a boy's lap, you be like, hey, tell her specifically about like maybe not, let's not do the lap thing, you know what I mean? And tell her how it makes you feel and why you don't want her to sit on the lap. But don't stop the friendship.

But also too, you also as a parent have to recall what you've allowed behaviorally with your child all the way back to like when they're 1, 2, 3 and 4 years old. Because if you allowed your child to be playful in this way and sit on uncle's laps or sit on brothers and cousins and da, da, da, and people that they're affectionate with that is not sexual. And then they have a friend with, so. And they're really friendly with someone, and that's the behavior that's been normal. And you. To make that an issue now is going to be confusing to them. And yes, you're gonna have to explain to them time and place right from wrong. Probably sooner than, like, Issa's not just sitting on people's laps and walking up to dudes. Why? Because when she was young, I was the only man that she did that with. Same as with Salasi. She just not out here holding dudes hands. Like, that's not something that her brain is gonna be comfortable with until a long time from now. You know what I'm saying? But that's for safety reasons. Me, for what this woman is concerned about, which is your kid is.

Where do you draw that line, though? Because. Right. I'm sure you have other loved ones. Your other friends with kids will pick up, you know, can pick up Selassie.

Like, so where do you draw that line? I'm just asking it from as trying to learn myself. It's just where you draw that line.

Well, it's really just about, like, it's not often. It's not every day. It's not all the time. It happened at a birthday party or it happened at a, A, A cookout, but it's not like all the time that I'm just like, here, hold my child.

And if my child. If they reach out to pick up my child and my child doesn't reach out in return, don't pick up my child. Right.

If they're not into it or, you know that. And both of my kids so far are not the, like, hey, I want to just be passed around and carried by everybody.

And that might be a personality.

Right, Right. And some could be. And you could still be teaching them that. Like. Yeah, but these are our.

So I don't know for this parent, I think sounds like you've already started having the convos, so now you just got to keep having the convos and see if she. And also give your child. In my opinion is my opinion. I'm not a professional. Give your child space and ask them if they understand.

Like one, like, do you actually understand what I'm saying? Are you just hearing it and you not really grasping why there's nuance here? And Things like that.

You got to practice that with you.

Most of the time when you ask them, you'll find out, and you'll be surprised that they don't know what you're saying.

Well, not only that, but as a parent, she has to stop and think.
