Ebro Darden
Just don't call it a podcast.
Donald Trump (clip)
The Ebro Laura Rosenberg show.
Ebro Darden
You should.
Laura Rosenberg
I didn't. Oh, I don't understand. What. Why. Why do parking garages change? Guys? You've got one guy, you're in business.
Ebro Darden
Maybe we're on vacation. I don't know. I had a thought yesterday about the parking guy that we're currently using over the last couple weeks. And my thought was, this parking garage is kind of small. And the guy that we used to have was so great that they took him and they put him somewhere where they really needed help. And then they left us with someone who was just not good.
Laura Rosenberg
I.
Ebro Darden
Slow and bad customer service. Like, purposefully bad customer service.
Laura Rosenberg
He. He eats today. He just was. I asked. I said, I'm in a rush, sir. Do you mind just giving me the ticket? He looked at me straight. He was like, no, no, no. He wouldn't. I'm gonna take my time. I'mma slowly walk over. I'm gonna look at. I'm gonna peruse your car, and then I'm gonna come right. He's always writing things down. Maybe that's why they got rid of our guy, though. Maybe he was, like, cutting corners and skipping some of the things maybe.
Ebro Darden
And they were like, you know what?
Laura Rosenberg
But. But this is. This change is problematic. Our life has been negative, slowed down.
Ebro Darden
It definitely negatively impacts our morning. But you know what? We're still here. And Rosenberg is still on time.
Laura Rosenberg
I have. The streak is live. You don't have her. You don't have Laura. I feel like Laura's too far over. Her stuff's all in Ebro's shot right now.
Ebro Darden
I don't like.
Laura Rosenberg
You're getting closer by this. By the time the show ends, you're gonna be on Ebro's lap.
Griffin
Listen, I am listening to directions from our team, okay?
Ebro Darden
All she does is listen to Ron Baskey.
Laura Rosenberg
Ron, Ron. You sure she shouldn't be a little, like every time? If she has a text, it's in Ebro's shop.
Ebro Darden
Well, you know, he's the Steven Spielberg. You know what I mean?
Griffin
I'm just listening.
Ebro Darden
He's on point. Everything.
Griffin
I'm surprised you just noticed.
Ebro Darden
Man's right here.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm seeing every shot.
Griffin
I've been here the whole.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't care what Ron says. You should move down at least a little bit.
Griffin
Okay, now stop.
Laura Rosenberg
Now stop right there.
Griffin
See?
Laura Rosenberg
Let me see my shot.
Ebro Darden
Now a chair. See?
Griffin
See? Look. Look at my chair.
Ebro Darden
See? You should have listened to Ron. Basketball.
Laura Rosenberg
Then what do we do? Setting this up.
Griffin
Oh, my God.
Laura Rosenberg
So it's either. Cause we didn't always have this.
Griffin
I've been here. You just noticed it. I've been here.
Laura Rosenberg
Sometimes your hand's not always an Ebro shot.
Ebro Darden
It might be I haven't looked enough.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay, maybe that's it.
Ebro Darden
Maybe you know something, bro.
Laura Rosenberg
Come on. I do for a fact.
Ebro Darden
I know.
Laura Rosenberg
Don't see that I pay attention.
Griffin
I'll see here.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm part of the quality control up here, yo.
Ebro Darden
Ladies and gentlemen, 844 ELR ELR 3. The phone lines open. Whatever you want to talk about the big story in the overnight. Lars got in the rundown. Well, yesterday, I guess this was not overnight, but yesterday was the peculiar disappearance of Kendrick Lamar's music from some streaming services that sent the. The Internet into a tizzy.
Griffin
Oh, my God. Tin hats everywhere, everyone.
Ebro Darden
So I guess. I guess it's just not bots listening to that. If people noticed that the music was gone. I mean, somebody went to listen to it and noticed that it was going. That's how that works.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm surprised it wasn't. It wasn't Ebro who noticed. The king of gnx.
Ebro Darden
I love that.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm surprised.
Ebro Darden
Play some Kendrick Lamar. So.
Laura Rosenberg
So do you have any insight?
Ebro Darden
Well, we gotta get into the rundown.
Griffin
Chill out, all right?
Ebro Darden
Sorry. And honestly, chilling. All right. And then there's also who's who. Drake's coming for on Iceman, also in the rundown. Right. Laura? Stan.
Griffin
I have that, too. These are the. The rumors that are coming out right now.
Laura Rosenberg
These. The Charlamagne rumors that were dropped yesterday. I can't wait for the rundown. I'm excited for the rundown today. Cause I need questions.
Ebro Darden
Oh, I love it. Well, do you have an answer for this? Since we're talking about music? Clip 13, please. Basking.
Griffin
Oh, my God. What is it?
Ebro Darden
Shouldn't have left you without a dope beat.
Griffin
Step two, step two, step two, step two,. Step two, step two. It's been a long time shouldn't have
Ebro Darden
left you without step two, step two.
Griffin
This is Brooke Hogan. Step two, step two, step two. What would you do to get to me? What would you say?
Ebro Darden
Why now? The caption says, Brooke Hogan has a new song coming out.
Laura Rosenberg
That means people don't even know that it's a cover.
Ebro Darden
That's why. Those are my questions. Like, is she just playing around? I wanted. I love the Aaliyah song. I'm just gonna put out a cover.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I mean, that is possible, right? Like, you. You're. You know, I love this song. I'm gonna do.
Griffin
Why would you choose to do that, though?
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, people. Listen. People cover.
Ebro Darden
I mean, the song is 20 years old, and.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I mean, it's an old enough song, if you want.
Donald Trump (clip)
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Why. Why wouldn't someone want to Now? Brooke Hogan covering. It is. Adds another layer. Like, I didn't know she was an artist.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, you didn't?
Ebro Darden
I didn't.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, that's how she was, like, first out. Got it was artists. Yeah, it was like. Like, I don't know. She maybe had, like, one joint that kind of moved a little bit, but it wasn't.
Ebro Darden
Well, then this is great promo for you, then, because guess what? Now I know you're an artist, and I'm sure other people do, too. What was the commentary like? Laura Styles roast and toast?
Griffin
They were like, why would you even touch this? Why would you do this to us? We don't want this.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, this. That's because it's Brooke Hogan, though, right? I mean, no, you know what?
Griffin
People are in because it's atelier, too.
Laura Rosenberg
I know, but, like, people. I'm sorry, guys. People are. Listen, you may not want it to be Brooke Hogan, but people are allowed to cover Aaliyah. In fact, great artists, they make money when people cover them.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, no one's gonna make money off this one, unfortunately. But you see what I'm saying.
Ebro Darden
Well, in theory, it would bring interest to the original and whoever owns the rights and they own the publishing rights and get paid.
Laura Rosenberg
So, like, back in the day, that was done all the time. I mean, I was listening to Beyond Weekend. Beyonce's got multiple covers on her.
Griffin
It's Beyonce. Well, it's not Brooke Hogan, but, like,
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, you could have had Beatles fans. Maybe there were who were like, how dare you do Blackbird? It's sacred. I'm sure music's not sacred, though, bro. Music. Music gets covered, and it can be good for the artist. Again, the problem here is Brooke Hogan.
Ebro Darden
Aaliyah.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I don't think people are. Well, and. And Hulkster didn't help Brooks Brand in any way.
Ebro Darden
Well, and I think they didn't speak.
Laura Rosenberg
Like, they weren't even talking.
Ebro Darden
Then. There's also. I think when somebody does a cover, it's kind of like, did you do it better? Because that can happen. Like, I've seen that happen with reputable artists, right, who have a good reputation. They decide they want to cover something and they take it anywhere.
Donald Trump (clip)
They.
Ebro Darden
Aiden, take it anywhere. Or it was worse than the original. And then people are mad that it's like, why did you desecrate this record?
Laura Rosenberg
If you're going to do something, you
Ebro Darden
got to do something. If you ain't, like, play that again for us.
Laura Rosenberg
Why. Why you doing this?
Ebro Darden
Because I want to hear it one more time.
Laura Rosenberg
You don't even need to vote.
Ebro Darden
Left you without a dop. They ruin the beat. That's not even the original. What does that mean?
Griffin
It's been a long time.
Ebro Darden
It's not better so far.
Laura Rosenberg
I'm not hearing. And then you hear it, like, kicks into the actual kind of.
Griffin
What would you do to get to me? What would you say?
Laura Rosenberg
And she sounds literally like she's mimicking Ali on that.
Ebro Darden
And sounds worse. I think that's the problem here. You're not doing the song justice.
Laura Rosenberg
Listen, I can't comment on five seconds. Who knows? Maybe it's one of the great.
Ebro Darden
You think it takes off and go somewhere that we.
Griffin
Yo, Rose.
Laura Rosenberg
It's unlikely. It's unlikely, but I can't hear it. It's. It's unlikely. Based on what I know here in
Ebro Darden
New York City, there are talks of a potential Long island railroad strike that would affect a quarter million people.
Laura Rosenberg
Man.
Ebro Darden
That's right. The union is resuming contract talks to avoid the strike. This all was coming out yesterday on my timeline. I don't know if you guys saw it on yours.
Griffin
Yeah, I saw it.
Ebro Darden
But yeah, man, if you catch the LIRR in the city. I know this has been kind of rumored for some time, but I'm hoping this they figure this out because damn, man, I hate when. I hate when workers can't get their money. And I hate when CEOs and managers of companies would rather get their bonuses than help the people. Because you know that the union workers are all just trying to get their bumps, you know, get them cost of living bumps and probably haven't got a contract upgrade in a little while. It's always the same story. And then when you go look at the CEO salary, salaries through the damn roof.
Griffin
Yeah. And it sucks that you have to. You have to wait for the spectacle. You have to wait for. This is the only way they'll pay attention.
Ebro Darden
That's right.
Griffin
Strike. The only way they'll be like, oh, God, I guess they're serious. Maybe we should pay attention.
Donald Trump (clip)
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
The negotiation, stressful. And it's almost. It almost feels like right now there's so many other things to be stressed about. Like everything is triggering, right. I don't know if you guys feel that way where it's like every. Every little small things. I mean, hell, we was unraveling because they switched to the parking lot man next door. I mean, if everything was better in the world, you think we'd be stressed off the parking lot man?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know. The parking lot man's a big deal. I can't lie. I can't even hold you. But no, everyone's very tense, obviously, new illnesses, you know, our democracy is at risk every single day. It's been winter for nine months. A lot going on.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's another part.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, hit the drop on mother Nature because whatever's going on, congratulations.
Griffin
Hit it on us.
Laura Rosenberg
Why? What do we do?
Griffin
Because we're constantly polluting and, you know, our politicians are doing nothing.
Ebro Darden
Look, nobody wants to hear about your account, our accountability.
Laura Rosenberg
I didn't do that. Not the ones I vote for. They told me we were going to be all right. By the way, bad news. Natalie said that Maya was doing her butt shaking dance to the Brooke Hogan song, so.
Griffin
Oh, my God.
Laura Rosenberg
It's like she has no respect for the original.
Griffin
Nah, play her the original.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, play her for the original. She hits you with the full yes. So crazy. I don't know where this butt shape it came from. It's just natural all the time. The bop, back and forth. It's so good.
Griffin
She's vibing.
Ebro Darden
She drops it like it's hot already too.
Laura Rosenberg
It's not a full drop. It's a side to side shake.
Ebro Darden
Okay, okay.
Laura Rosenberg
It's all hips. Every song, all hips.
Ebro Darden
Listen, that's better than a lot of people who dance and can't move their hips at all.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, no.
Ebro Darden
She's got the right path.
Laura Rosenberg
She's got the hit move, you know what I mean?
Ebro Darden
At least she's on a pass. She hears a beat. Whether it's whack or not, she's ready to move.
Laura Rosenberg
But listen, maybe it was when the real beat kind of kicked in that
Ebro Darden
maybe that Timbo portion. Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, I want you to know that if you avoided ordering one of the gold Trump phones, you did the right thing and you don't get this.
Laura Rosenberg
Congratulations.
Ebro Darden
Have you seen this story, Rose?
Laura Rosenberg
Just last night when you sent it. I was, I vaguely remember these coming out, but I had not heard an update.
Ebro Darden
I remember. This is from Ari Melbourne and the family over at Ms. Now.
Laura Rosenberg
Hey, Trump supporter here. This goes out to Don Jr. And Eric.
Ebro Darden
My phones.
Laura Rosenberg
I ordered three, no, four gold Trump phones in the summer. Now we can't get any updates on them.
Commercial Announcer
He's not alone. A bunch of customers and MAGA fans are very angry to find that Donald Trump is breaking his word again. The Trump's family business has duped whatever fans it has left. This latest grift involves the Trump family's business failure to deliver promised Trump phones after getting down payments on them from a lot of customers. Now, how many people would actually like to buy a Trump Gold phone at this juncture, say the last year? Well, considering the past rip offs and the fact that no major cell phones are actually produced in the US So this seemed like a long shot. Well, you might think not that many. But the answer is well over 500,000 people each paid a hundred dollar deposit to get in on the planned and promised Trump phone. Not a single confirmed customer though has gotten one. This is a report from the ibt. Meanwhile, the website for the so called Trump Mobile, which isn't very mobile, includes a disclaimer. A pre order doesn't guarantee a device will be produced or made available for purchase. I mean that is just out there. A pre order means not a pre order. We just hold your 100 bucks and we might never make the phone.
Ebro Darden
Wow.
Commercial Announcer
The so called Trump phone was announced with a lot of fanfare by Trump's sons last year.
Laura Rosenberg
Today we're here to introduce Trump Mobile making phones in America. It's about time we bring products back to our great country. We're going to be having call centers for Trump Mobile in St. Louis. So we're keeping our data onshore. We plan to build phones in America. All of our customer support is in America. A lot of people are getting ripped off, to say the least because they don't pay attention to our cell phone plans. So I think we can do it better.
Commercial Announcer
People are getting ripped off. They're going to do a better job. They're actually doing no job because they haven't shipped any phones.
Ebro Darden
That's incredible. And it's very, by the way, it's very American. Yeah, it, it is exactly what people who paid for it deserve.
Griffin
Facts.
Ebro Darden
Because a Trump has a history of scamming people. That name is tied to scams. You're looking at a president who's, who's a complete failure in so many ways and you still threw your money at it, you idiot. And it says congratulations.
Griffin
Basically preorder doesn't guarantee anything.
Laura Rosenberg
So you gave 100 bucks that guarantee. Now that's like when people are ordering like Teslas, you remember that you could put down $100 or whatever and it would put you on the list if you wanted to get the Tesla when it came out or ever. The, the car is, how could people fall for this? And now there's going to be no follow up. No one's gonna say, not only is it insane that the President of the United States started a cell phone company,
Griffin
I mean, that's right.
Laura Rosenberg
Started a cell phone company with his sons running it, claiming they're now gonna have better service than the cell phone
Griffin
companies because they're tired of getting ripped off.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo, they said they're tired of getting ripped off and now they just rip people off with nothing. I've never heard of people getting nothing from their cell phone company.
Griffin
They're tired of other people ripping people off. So it's time they do it.
Ebro Darden
Who works at like the consumer, do they? Do we? Because I know we've gotten rid of like people who investigate certain things at the federal level, right? Like there's people like people talk about all the time down on Wall street right now. The, you have all this market manipulation going on where they're like, nobody at the SEC that's been placed in there by this current government is going to investigate anything. Right? Or you, you think about what's going on at Department of Justice where the people who used to investigate, you know, racial discrimination and these things, they're gone, right? Or is there anybody at the consumer Affairs Bureau. Like, what's your recourse?
Griffin
Crickets.
Ebro Darden
Because you'd have to have someone. So the only thing now you would have to have states go for the federal government or a state attorney general would have to say, I'm taking this on.
Laura Rosenberg
And then, you know, you know what they'll say then. If anyone were to take it on, it's then just. People are going after Trump again.
Griffin
Of course.
Ebro Darden
That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
They just. And then, and then now people are attacking him for no reason.
Griffin
Yep.
Laura Rosenberg
Ripping off 500,000 people is no reason.
Griffin
And then on top of that, expect some kind of retaliation for those whoever or whoever doesn't. Yeah, of course. In those states.
Ebro Darden
Look, the good part is yesterday it was circulating that Trump's very relaxed. So relaxed in his current situation. He's falling asleep. Saw that they were in the Oval Office yesterday talking about women's health, and he had a whole, you know, bunch of ladies behind him who specialized in women's health. Your man is nodding off.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, yeah. Worse than anything I've ever seen. For Biden. For all the talk there was about Biden, you could tell. I mean, he was, he was seconds from REM sleep. He was almost gone.
Ebro Darden
He was comfortable. And immediately people started on X. You know, his, his bots, for lack of a better term, began attacking people who pointed it out, saying, he's just blinking.
Griffin
Blinking.
Ebro Darden
Did you see that?
Laura Rosenberg
No. A 30 second blink. It's a long blink. It's a long blink.
Ebro Darden
Long. 8. 4. 4. ELR. ELR. 3. We got anybody in the super chat? What are they talking about in the chat room over there? You could hit the like button. Hit the hype button. I want to shout out to Cozy Earth one more time. You know, I mean, big up to them yesterday or yesterday. I got home and I told Jazz. I was like, yo, I did a whole commercial today on Cozy Earth and told about how we get into bed and start giggling. Guess what? We was laying. We was laying in the bed. Salazi was sleep. We started laughing about how cool those sheets were.
Laura Rosenberg
The Cozy Earth.
Ebro Darden
Oh, it's incredible.
Laura Rosenberg
Super Chat. Pop Pop something or another says, yo, we need that Laura bomb.
Ebro Darden
Oh,
Laura Rosenberg
there you go, Eric Motion says Sizza and Kenny should remake at your best. Parentheses GNX child. I don't know.
Ebro Darden
That means he's a GNX fan and they want Scissor and Kendrick to do a remix.
Laura Rosenberg
Come, come on back. Run it, run it back.
Ebro Darden
Well, they did what they just do. 30 for 30 and Luther. I could see a Scissor. Kendrick Collabo Album.
Laura Rosenberg
Album. Yeah. I could do.
Ebro Darden
I could see that they had a lot.
Laura Rosenberg
They had at that concert. They had a lot. They had more than I remember.
Griffin
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
I did basically all of the Kevin Hart roast last night.
Griffin
Oh, you did?
Ebro Darden
How'd you feel about it?
Laura Rosenberg
It was okay. Have moments that. It had some legit LOL moments like you'd expect. And then it has some that are like, okay.
Ebro Darden
How do you feel about the Shane Gillis, Chelsea Handler giant back and forth thing?
Laura Rosenberg
That was, to me, regular funny. That was like a pretty appropriate roast. I mean, roasts are supposed to be pretty far out there.
Griffin
People were.
Laura Rosenberg
There were some other black ones, though, that jokes that is. That I was took me to the limit of some people.
Griffin
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
And I'm good. I'm good with Shane Gillis. Shane Gillis had some racial jokes that I thought were legitimately funny and he really went far. And then there were other people and other ones that I was just like.
Griffin
Like a lot of people. The only one I saw was the George Floyd one that everyone's like, this is pointless and it's not funny.
Laura Rosenberg
The George Floyd one was not funny. It did not do well in the room. I'm going to just tell you the truth.
Ebro Darden
So in all fairness, at roasts where people go too far, people will go too far and it will bomb. That's fair for.
Laura Rosenberg
For sure.
Ebro Darden
Then there's people who haven't really seen roasts who see this sort of thing and it just. They don't like this kind of thing
Laura Rosenberg
and they're being taken out of the roast where you just saw 50 jokes that were like, whoa. And now you. No, I don't think that the Hinchcliffe joke is so beyond the bro. Shane Gillis spent all night making fun of Cheryl Underwood's real life husband who committed suicide. They went to it all night long and Cheryl Underwood was doubled over laughing at it. So you can't go from that and then say that a George Floyd joke, that's the one that's too far. But it wasn't funny. It wasn't delivered well. It didn't hit. So then you take it out of context and you're really like, well. And then, you know, it's the person delivering it who people think is a racist. People don't like Tony Hinchcliffe. They don't trust him.
Ebro Darden
I don't even know who that is.
Laura Rosenberg
He's Ebro Zalgo. It's. He's the host.
Ebro Darden
I heard you mention him yesterday.
Laura Rosenberg
He's the host of Kill Tony.
Ebro Darden
Haven't watched.
Laura Rosenberg
It's a huge. It's the biggest live, like, roast thing there is.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
They sold out Madison Square Garden. It's a gigantic show that all the comedians go on these days. And more importantly, the reason you should remember him is he was the dude who, before the Trump rally, made the Puerto Rico jokes.
Griffin
Oh, he's the one.
Ebro Darden
So that's why people don't like him, don't trust him.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, for a million reasons. But there were mad jokes about him being racist. That was like. That was.
Ebro Darden
And then I still can't picture him, but I remember that moment.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, he's. He's big. He's in that whole new world of comedians. But he got. I mean, he got crushed all night, too. But, yeah, there were just some that I just felt like were like, we're doing it literally just for the sake of showing people, look, we can make
Ebro Darden
racist black jokes, and Kevin's cool with it.
Laura Rosenberg
And not just Kevin or everybody. A lot of people on stage.
Ebro Darden
Well, so the feedback I got. And I haven't watched the whole Kevin Hart roast, the feedback I got from people who I wouldn't claim to have great sense of humor. Okay, so let's start there or understand, like, how far roasts go. Were absolutely hitting me like, yo, you're cool with this Kevin Hart roast? And these white people getting on stage,
Laura Rosenberg
how did you show you were cool with it?
Donald Trump (clip)
I don't.
Ebro Darden
I didn't say anything.
Laura Rosenberg
Why are they in your. What did you do?
Ebro Darden
No, these were people. I know texting. I know they wanted me to get up here and lambast about, you know, how. How. How Kevin Hart let white people get on stage and go too far with racist jokes. And I was like, but it's a roast. That was my response. I was like, it's roast. Like, it's what it is.
Griffin
A lot of people don't even know what a roast is.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, listen, some. I'm not going to sit here and tell you there weren't ones that made me cringe. There were moments when I cringed.
Ebro Darden
And so maybe that's what it is.
Laura Rosenberg
But I also know what I'm signing up for.
Ebro Darden
Can I tell you what made me cringe? It felt in the first half an hour, was only half an hour I watched was Usher and Kevin Hart and Tom Brady. And that kind of.
Laura Rosenberg
That was bad, by the way, the first 20 minutes. Well, so that was Usher, get out. Tom Brady, get out. Love them all. Didn't work to me.
Ebro Darden
Well, I felt like it was too scripted.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. It was.
Ebro Darden
It just went too. It was too scripted. And I was like, if this is what I'm getting, I'm. I'll come back to.
Laura Rosenberg
It turns into a regular roast.
Ebro Darden
Got it. Okay. So I need to give it time.
Laura Rosenberg
If that's what you. If you. I'm not going to tell you.
Ebro Darden
I'm going to go. I'm going to go watch it.
Laura Rosenberg
I like it. The Chelsea Handler. The Chel. The Chelsea Handler stuff was funny in general. Her going after Tony Hinchcliffe was like. If you're someone who sort of wanted to see Tony Hinchcliffe, catch it. It was very satisfying. Chelsea Handler went in. It was. It was really, really fun.
Griffin
I saw a clip of her cooking.
Laura Rosenberg
She was. She was very, very good. I mean, obviously you get the same jokes about Chelsea that everyone makes it. Every one of them that she's fucked every black dude there is. Blah, blah. All like that stuff. Like, just some of these are starting to get a bit old.
Ebro Darden
Chelsea Handler on you.
Laura Rosenberg
I want to know.
Ebro Darden
We're going to talk to her about her resume.
Laura Rosenberg
Is that what you think you want to. Or you want to innovate? Jeff Ross, I thought was really funny. He was really good. Pete Davidson was fun. He's great to see Pete.
Ebro Darden
I love seeing Pete.
Laura Rosenberg
But, yo, they were making. Guys. They were making jokes about Tony Hinchcliffe. I can be offended about all the things Tony Hinchliffe said, and I didn't think this was funny. This, to me, was too far. He made a joke about Pete Davidson's father rolling over in his rubble.
Ebro Darden
Ron Baskeem thinks that's funny.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo. Yo, I.
Ebro Darden
There you go. Somebody got somebody.
Laura Rosenberg
No, that was the one. I was like, all right. Because there had already been multiple jokes about Pete's dad for whatever reason. That was the one. Maybe again, maybe it's the messenger. I was just like, you don't need to go that far.
Ebro Darden
He's still laughing.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo, this is Yo Bask.
Griffin
I'm. The only reason I'm laughing is I'm laughing at him because I can't believe him. He's cracking up.
Ebro Darden
But maybe he's laughing because it's inappropriate. Like, it's. That was good joke. That was Lenny.
Laura Rosenberg
See, no, Bascom has no moral lines. That's the. But no, listen, you have the right to laugh at the whole thing. It was cool. Parts of it were good. Parts of it were too. Were just whatever. But no, the Chelsea Handler part I had no problem with.
Griffin
I think we all have a thing, right? Like, people are like, oh, you know, Comedy should have no restrictions. Like, it should be free. I personally, like, because somebody asked me, what's your limit? Right. I was like, I don't find pedo jokes funny. Like rape jokes. I'm just like, I don't think there
Laura Rosenberg
are really any of those, though.
Griffin
No, no. But I'm just saying in general, you know how people were saying comedy?
Laura Rosenberg
You going to Laura? I've never even heard this before.
Griffin
Well, Pete Davidson has made some.
Laura Rosenberg
What?
Griffin
He's made some, like, really inappropriate, like, rapey jokes. Yeah, Rapey jokes. And, like, children jokes. I'm like, yeah, that's not. I didn't find it funny at all. You know what I mean?
Ebro Darden
Well, I think. And this is the thing about comedy,
Laura Rosenberg
it has to be funny.
Ebro Darden
No.
Laura Rosenberg
That is big, though.
Griffin
Yes.
Ebro Darden
But that's not what I was gonna say.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Ebro Darden
The uncomfortable nature of the joke is sometimes why certain people find it funny because it's so wrong.
Griffin
Yes. That's a. I agree with you.
Ebro Darden
That is a thing in comedy that many people don't get.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
And are not into, by the way. They don't. Like. I used to go to comedy clubs and watch Comedians Bomb. And I thought it was hilarious because they were doing a terrible job and the audience was mad, and that was funny to me.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
But the people in the audience were like, I paid my money. This isn't funny, and you're ruining my night. Cause you suck. You know what I mean? And I was like, well, you guys just went to a rando comedy club and didn't know what you were getting. And that's funny to me that you got trash.
Laura Rosenberg
For example, though, Pete Davidson made a Charlie Kirk joke. It was okay. But I'm like, if you're going to wade into those waters, that could really get people clipping it and being like you, it should be a slam dunk joke, in my opinion, not like a. You know, I'm saying, like, that that's the thing that I feel like I'm surprised when they don't know the ones that just don't really.
Ebro Darden
But did that joke get bad feedback or did you.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know.
Ebro Darden
It didn't land with you?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know. I just know based on what I've seen happen to other people, I would be mindful just from, like, your own safety.
Griffin
Safety.
Laura Rosenberg
Dealing with it in your life, your career. Someone saying. I think it was Chelsea Handler said, and me and Natalie fell out to this one. Shane Gillis, you look like Drew Ski. Doing whiteface was hilarious because then it shows him and he literally looks like that.
Ebro Darden
Speaking of Drew Ski and Whiteface, I

Donald Trump (clip)
No.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, and I don't like what you're saying. I'm offended already.
Ebro Darden
Go to go to clip 16.
Commercial Voice
I'm not Puerto Rico's governor was almost tied to a drug investigation. And then the Trump administration made the case disappear. Federal investigators were looking into allegations that prison gang leaders were trading drugs to inmates in exchange for votes. For now governor and Trump loyalist Jennifer
Ebro Darden
that's not Chris Farlow.
Commercial Voice
And here's how. But first, it's important to note that inmates in Puerto Rico can legally vote. According to investigators. Investigators gang leaders allegedly forced inmates to vote for Gonzalez or face repercussions like beatings or starvation inside prison walls. And four Overdose deaths were allegedly connected to the operation. And it gets worse. Gang members involved were allegedly getting special treatment, like reduced prison sentences, big screen TVs, PlayStations, cell phones. One of the gang leaders even posted screenshots of WhatsApp messages he claimed were with Gonzalez during the primaries. Prosecutors believed that they had enough evidence to pursue corruption and election frau charges. Then Trump took office. Those prosecutors were told to drop the drugs for votes angle entirely. The smuggling case stayed open, but the election fraud part of it vanished. Here's why that matters. Gonzalez barely won the primary, meaning those prison votes may have been the margins,
Laura Rosenberg
not a conspiracy theory.
Commercial Voice
This is from a federal investigation
Laura Rosenberg
of it. It sounds bad, but the.
Ebro Darden
Well, basically the PNP and the conservative, or in the conservative government in Puerto Rico is corrupt and has been corrupt and has been taking advantage of the people. And it has been taken advantage so bad that they've been paying gang members because inmates in Puerto Rico can vote. And they've been using that to, like, force people to vote for conservative politics. That's taking advantage of the island.
Laura Rosenberg
Wow.
Ebro Darden
And Trump and them made that portion of it go away. But the drugs for votes thing is still kind of bubbling. But they wanted to protect the politicians, or Trump did.
Griffin
Mind you, she's the one that. She's part of the group that was like, not bad Bunny. You can't. You. Then they cannot make a film about Puerto Rico. In Puerto Rico.
Laura Rosenberg
Wow.
Griffin
So now they have to go to
Laura Rosenberg
Dr. Yo, that really? So if you haven't seen the Chris Farley. The skit where they're sitting around eating and he's like, these fries are good. And he's dressed as a full. As a woman. He literally looks exactly like that. Lay off, I'm starving. Lay off me. I'm starving. No, he literally looks exactly like Chris.
Ebro Darden
Was that incredible?
Griffin
Oh, my God.
Ebro Darden
First of all, the story is incredible. That's an incredible story that's going on in Puerto Rico right now. The second part is. Nah. When I saw it, I was distracted. I had to watch it three times because I was distracted by the fact I was like, yo, that is Chris Farley, bro. I'm bugging, yo.
Griffin
It's crazy.
Ebro Darden
Nah, it's crazy.
Laura Rosenberg
Flasco fiasco star says for $30. Wow. Louisiana has a push to get rid of Governor Jeff Landry.
Ebro Darden
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Over the canceling of elections and the elimination of a black court of clerks position that was elected by the people at over 65%. Please get the word out.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, we were trying. I've been trying to get A time schedule with Gary Chambers Jr. Who's been on the. It's obviously very vocal in the state of Louisiana. Very vocal down in Baton Rouge, in New Orleans. Griff, did I get you his email? I got to get you his email. We got to get him on the program so we could talk about that. But, yeah, that's a. That is an absolute hot topic. And obviously, Louisiana is ground zero for the most recent Supreme Court decision that gutted voting rights.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Which now you're seeing what's happening in Virginia. You're seeing what's happening in. In Louisiana. Obviously you saw what's happening in Tennessee. They're working on new maps in Alabama.
Griffin
That's right.
Ebro Darden
Yo, let me tell you something. Have you paid attention to how fast white racists get things done when it's time to disenfranchise black people?
Griffin
Oh, they can do it quickly, bro.
Ebro Darden
When it's time for black people or. Or marginalized groups to actually. When we vote on something, to implement something, it takes forever.
Laura Rosenberg
Why is that?
Ebro Darden
Because they don't want it to happen, bro. And they want us to become apathetic with the process. They want us to. To feel that the system will not work for us. So we check out. That's what they want. They want you to feel like no matter what you do, nothing works. And so you just throw your hands up and you ignore.
Griffin
It's also, they want to work quick because they have the people in place, and the faster you do it, it gives people less time to find out, you know what I'm saying? Because people can be mad afterwards, but too late. You know what I mean?
Laura Rosenberg
And generally, people trying to get bad things done, you know, they don't have any moral code to make them go, you know, cross T's and dot eyes, so they just go, go, go, go, go.
Ebro Darden
And a whole other issue in New Jersey, I know we're trying to get Mikey Cheryl on again. They're putting in those. Those AI data centers out in a couple of towns in New Jersey. And the towns are like, we just found out about this, and we didn't vote for this.
Griffin
Yes. Most of them are like, that Ebro and.
Ebro Darden
And the. The power drain on the community of 250,000 homes in some of these towns that only have, like, 100,000 people.
Griffin
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you seen how it affects their water? Like, have you seen those mini docks that people basically, like, come inside and see what it is to live by? One of these centers, like, she turns on the water and it's like, barely Any water. And they're talking about how everything is unaffordable. They're having so many problems with their electricity, it just affects the quality of life altogether, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Ebro Darden
And so whole towns are sitting in front of their, you know, their. Their city, city board or mayors or whatever. Like, no one voted for this. Nobody wants this except you guys. Oh, and you're giving them tax breaks.
Griffin
Yeah, that too.
Laura Rosenberg
And. And by the way, how many jobs are they giving people?
Ebro Darden
According to the community, the. None to them.
Griffin
They're bringing in their own people.
Laura Rosenberg
So. And why is it. Why is it so cost, like, problematic to do AI?
Ebro Darden
Well, because you have computing costs in the power supply.
Laura Rosenberg
It's that. But why? It just seems like we didn't really figure it out yet the way that they needed to figure it out.
Ebro Darden
Well, no. Well, but that was the whole hustle, the whole scam of the AI thing. Were these big tech companies saying, you know, because if you think about it, over the last year, we got inundated with AI, headlines, everything. Yeah. And what that did was that drove investment. Right. For people in the market to say, I'm gonna invest in these companies that specialize in AI, which drove their stock price, and people cashed out, made million, their stock price went up, etc, etc. That doesn't mean that the business is ready to go.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro Darden
That just means that they want your money so you can invest, so they can use your money to build out the thing that they're selling you on. It's kind of like the Trump phones. Right?
Laura Rosenberg
Right. But they can at least get something out. It's just not being done well or efficient.
Ebro Darden
Well, no, but the sustainability of the thing, a lot of times there's great ideas, but is it sustainable? Can. Can you keep it going? Right. Like, that's what we're gonna watch when you drop your podcast. Validate me. Great idea.
Laura Rosenberg
Can you sustain.
Ebro Darden
Can you sustain it? Can you keep this going on a regular basis? Even when we did this, right, People were like, sounds great. Y' all gonna do it every day. Remember all those conversations were like. People were like, you're gonna do this every day? We were like, we already do it every day.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Griffin
So I'm just looking at up at different ways that it affects communities. So the pollution is wild because they use large arrays of backup diesel generators, and it leads to significant localized air pollution during testing and powder outages and just harms public health altogether. And then it. Imagine your little baby with you, and you can't even go outside because it's so bad. And it also a single data center can consume up to 2 megawatt hours of power and millions of gallons of water annually for cooling and you know.
Laura Rosenberg
Millions of gallons.
Griffin
Yep. And that explains the water pressure that the lady was talking about. There's so much that we don't know yet because it's so new.
Ebro Darden
Once again, sustainability.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Because the demand on the power drives up costs. And how about this? I read an article the other day. Many companies that were thinking about how they're going to use AI to support their companies, support their workers, whatever they were going to do came to find out that there's actual. And I'm using quotes here because this is what it said in the article computing costs. So not only you have to pay for AI to work for same you pay for chat GPT.
Laura Rosenberg
No, I don't. But yeah you do. People.
Ebro Darden
But like if you wanted to do more stuff, you gotta pay. It's not free.
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Ebro Darden
So that those costs. So if you want AI personalized to your company or whatever it is, there's costs associated with that. It is not a free thing. Or like when we think about, oh, we just Google something. Well, Google sells advertising, so that's how they're offsetting the cost probably for us to use Google for free.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, if you want, it's a much lower intensity thing to much lower intensity.
Ebro Darden
But if you want more from Google. Right. They have premium, they have this, they're going to charge you for different things because all of this computation has costs not only for the people running it, but for the power demand. So it's not just like a, you know, hey, flip a switch, you guys got something cool.
Laura Rosenberg
So all of this whole thing of all the businesses being like, we're going to figure out how we're going to use AI and we're going to use AI and everyone's using AI, but no one's thinking about that the actual use of AI has a cost to the world.
Ebro Darden
That's right. Well and how about this? Let's, let's even talk about that cost. Let's talk about, let's say AI removes all of our jobs but provides you guys tune in 8am but and there's a great show going on. Okay, that money, right, that, that was saved because they used AI. Now they have to spend for the computing cost. So there's still cost. Oh and oh by the way, the people you got rid of aren't spending money in the community now. They're not going to the barbershop they're not going to on vacations. So not only did you lose because you're paying extra computing costs, you lost actual money going back into the economy because it's just going to a corporation to fund computing costs. So it's not this AI thing. Doesn't seem like it's shaping up good. What you got, Griff?
Griffin
Sunil is on the phone.
Laura Rosenberg
Let's talk about gas prices in Cuba and how they're getting shut down.
Ebro Darden
Sunil. Yo, I was over in Jersey the other day. I saw a diesel for $5.96 bucks.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I paid like six yesterday in the city for regular.
Griffin
Dang.
Ebro Darden
Six bucks a gallon in the city?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I think Yesterday was near 6 and.
Ebro Darden
Neil, good morning. Hey, good morning.
Griffin
Hi. I'm calling because. So gas in Cuba right now is $40 a gallon.
Ebro Darden
That is, by the way. Who is that for? Because Cubans ain't got it like that.
Griffin
Absolutely not. They already had a bad before, but
Ebro Darden
now it got even worse because now
Griffin
Trump forbid any other country to send them gas at all. They can't have nothing.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, you know, they've been. They've been trying to starve the Cubans so that they want to go against the regime and turn over the government so America could take it. Yeah, that's the whole plan there. Sunil, where are you calling us from?
Griffin
Oh, I'm calling actually. I'm actually originally from Queens, just moved to Connecticut, so. Hi.
Ebro Darden
Hey, good morning. Thanks for joining the ELR show.
Laura Rosenberg
Appreciate you.
Ebro Darden
Talk to you soon. Now Sunil's talking that real talk.
Griffin
$40 a gallon.
Laura Rosenberg
Cuba always catches, man. Cuba just catches it, like for his fore forever.
Ebro Darden
Well, yeah, because, you know, they had a regime there that went against the
Laura Rosenberg
United States, and for that you will forever.
Ebro Darden
And then you have Cubans here whose families were harmed by Fidel Castro. Right. So. And you know who will never forget that. And so they want that and. And they want that land, bro. That is a big island that people have been wanting for a long time.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo, this is going so bad. It is just so crazy. I. Seriously, I think I. It's been a long time since I decided to just put in like $30 because I'm like, I'll wait and get more elsewhere. I put in like $35 yesterday. I was empty but 4 gallons again. So I got. I put in a few. Literally, I put in, yeah, six, you know, whatever was four or five gallons. And then was like, I'll get the rest later, because it's that bad. Is he ever Gonna pay the price for it. No one's like, imagine if the Democrats had things this crazy. Imagine.
Ebro Darden
Well, that's what we'll see at the midterms.
Laura Rosenberg
We'll see. We'll see.
Ebro Darden
What do you got, Lou? Hang on, Lou. Looks like he's chomping at the beer.
Griffin
Let's go, Lou.
Ebro Darden
No, but to offset it. He is. He is delaying the gas tax. That's what he said he's trying to do.
Laura Rosenberg
To offset the prices. What does that mean? What does that mean?
Griffin
What's the gas tax?
Ebro Darden
It's a federal gas tax.
Laura Rosenberg
And how will that affect our lives? Like, practically for Americans?
Ebro Darden
Meaning that tax won't be levied against the gas. So in theory, we keep the price down.
Laura Rosenberg
Let's not. So when will that kick in?
Ebro Darden
Well, that's the part we gotta wait for.
Laura Rosenberg
Congratulations.
Ebro Darden
I mean, it'll come as soon as you get your phone. Whenever you get your phone is when you get.
Laura Rosenberg
And if you have an issue, just call right from your Trump.
Ebro Darden
There you go.
Griffin
Got it.
Ebro Darden
Okay, Laura, you ready for the rundown?
Griffin
Yes. Let's do it.
Ebro Darden
Headlines heavy, but we still.
Laura Rosenberg
Inflation shot up to a 3.8% annual rate in April.
Ebro Darden
There you go.
Laura Rosenberg
As energy costs rise.
Griffin
Lovely, thanks.
Laura Rosenberg
New York Times.
Griffin
Right. All right. So yesterday the big talk was like, what is happening with Kendrick Lamar's music? So GNX disappeared from Apple Music and other streaming platforms.
Ebro Darden
Okay. Wow. YouTube, Apple Music. I saw something about Spotify as well.
Griffin
Yes, yes, yes. But it's so funny because when I was looking at it, most people were just reporting apple music and YouTube got it. So. And then the music videos for Not Like Us and Luther were also gone, but then re uploaded, removing all of the views. But then everything is back on as of now. So do. Do you know what happened?
Ebro Darden
I would. I don't know what happened, but I would have to assume it has something to do with the people who own the music. Right. Because the streaming services, remember, they provide you a platform to interface with the music, but they don't control the music. They don't control the uploading of the music. They don't control or the rights of the music, any of that. So if there's like a takedown order or some sort of, you know, rights issue or something that goes between the label and the distributor, I think the. The platforms, the way I understand the technology, they're just there for the user to interface with.
Griffin
Interesting. Yeah, I don't think people understand that part.
Laura Rosenberg
What?
Ebro Darden
But of course, it happens the week Iceman's about to drop. You know what I'm saying? So of course it goes into a tizzy.
Griffin
Of course.
Laura Rosenberg
Back up on Spotify, everything.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, everything's back. Yes. It was back up yesterday. Like, so who cares? No lie. It was 30 minutes after, maybe 45 minutes after.
Laura Rosenberg
These. These Drakeies are weird. They just.
Ebro Darden
Well, I don't even know if it was the Drakeies, like, who. Who discovered that the Kendrick Lamar album was down. Like, that means somebody went to listen and it wasn't there.
Griffin
Yeah, I think it was. Right.
Laura Rosenberg
And they probably posted. Probably posted from a normal people being like, hey, where's my Kendrick album? But then once the Drakeies see that and they start going, oh, here we go, and start stirring the pot. You know that. Come on. They're obsessed.
Ebro Darden
I mean, listen, it's a sickness.
Griffin
Oh, my God.
Laura Rosenberg
Why do you go there? And why does Drake not like me? There you go. Leaning into the sickness part so far, bro.
Griffin
All right. Speaking of Drake. So Iceman is supposed to drop this Friday.
Laura Rosenberg
Damn right.
Griffin
That's the world.
Laura Rosenberg
It's freezing out here.
Griffin
So yesterday I did see that Charlamagne had pointed it out that two names in particular are going to be mentioned.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Griffin
Asaph Rocky and DJ Khaled.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes.
Griffin
Okay, so expect shots at them.
Ebro Darden
So now the Rocky thing, I've. Well, let's do it piece by piece. So let's start with Rocky. Okay. Of which we have to remember that. Hasn't Drake said some things shady about Rocky and Rihanna or Rihanna and after. Rocky and Rihanna have been, you know, with children.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Drake has had some things to say and people were like, yo, bro, like, move on. Like, that was a convo that happened.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Right.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Ebro Darden
Then Rocky puts out this most recent album and he took some shots.
Laura Rosenberg
Yes. Yeah, fire back.
Ebro Darden
So you would think, like, okay, you said your part, I said my part on my project. We're not done.
Laura Rosenberg
That's not how it always works.
Ebro Darden
I'm just asking. It's really just a question. Because if I'm looking at Drake, I'm like, so you're still talking to the guy that's with your ex? They got three. They got three children.
Griffin
Yeah. I don't think he cares.
Ebro Darden
No, I know he doesn't, clearly. But at a point you gotta go.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. I mean, it doesn't. I don't know if it's. Is it. Is it just about that? You know what I mean? Is it deeper? We don't really know.
Ebro Darden
Might be deeper than rap.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, could be.
Griffin
But what's up with the Khaled? Situation.
Ebro Darden
The Khaled thing is interesting, too, because the last I heard, Khaled thought he had two Drake songs, and then he doesn't. So maybe something happened behind the scenes that we all know about or I don't know about.
Griffin
Am I wrong? But throughout the battle, I didn't see.
Laura Rosenberg
Khaled never said anything.
Griffin
Yeah, he didn't say anything or take a side.
Laura Rosenberg
I don't know if you know this. Khaled is known for a lot of things. Wading into controversial waters is not one of them.
Griffin
Correct, Correct.
Laura Rosenberg
So Khaled stayed away from that. So it had to.
Ebro Darden
But we're also taking what Charlemagne saying at face value.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, that's Charlemagne. He's an expert, for God's sake.
Ebro Darden
But we don't know that. First of all, we don't know that what he said about Khed is negative. Right. Because all Charlemagne said was two people's names get mentioned is the way I saw the headline.
Griffin
So Khed said. Khed said that he had a Drake song. And didn't Drake, like, comment and say something like, no. Or something along those. Am I bugging? Did I make this up?
Ebro Darden
I feel like that happened, but who knows? Okay, so Drake, in the comments, all I remember is axes next to my name. That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
I remember that.
Ebro Darden
Me, too.
Griffin
Axe. Axe X. Well, yeah. So let's see what happens. It's supposed to drop this Friday.
Ebro Darden
Iceman, let's go.
Laura Rosenberg
Who's the leak on the Drake team, though? Who's feeding things to OP Charlemagne.
Ebro Darden
He had more info on that.
Laura Rosenberg
That was only two things. The headline I saw. He said, like, seven other things.
Griffin
Oh, I just.
Ebro Darden
That's good promo, though.
Laura Rosenberg
He had all kinds of info on it, though.
Ebro Darden
But this is great promo.
Laura Rosenberg
But is that what they want? They want. It's a week away. Yeah, of course.
Ebro Darden
Why wouldn't they want to keep it?
Laura Rosenberg
All right, so it was an intentionally.
Griffin
In other news, guys, entertainment mogul Byron Allen is now.
Laura Rosenberg
Oh, here's what happened. Sorry, Laura, real quick. Here's what you were talking about.
Griffin
Okay.
Laura Rosenberg
Khaled shared a trailer on Instagram featuring Anthony Ramos and Mark Wahlberg, with the latter claiming the project had two new Drake songs. Drake immediately commented, must be at Drake Bell. So that's.
Ebro Darden
And then meaning it ain't. This Drake is another.
Laura Rosenberg
This Drake.
Griffin
Right.
Laura Rosenberg
That's not necessarily saying they have issues, but. All right. Sorry.
Griffin
It's not. It's not the nicest thing to say. No, it's not like, yes, let's go.
Laura Rosenberg
Or you could just say. Or you could just say, oh, that's not true if you wanted to say that.
Griffin
But I guess we shall see. All right, so entertainment mogul Byron Allen is making a big move. Yesterday, people were talking about because he's going to acquire the majority stake in BuzzFeed in a deal worth $120 million. So Byron Allen and the Allen family will purchase, I guess, 40 million shares, giving him approximately 52% ownership once it closes later on this month. So people are just celebrating. They were like, oh, my God, Black owned the majority.
Laura Rosenberg
What's. What, what does Buzzfeed, like, have these days besides like, like, what is buzzfeed?
Ebro Darden
I remember there were some purchases and things that went on a few years ago included. Buzzfeed went into another company and. Right. So I'm not familiar, but it's been by bought and sold a couple of times. As far as Byron Allen, he's been making great media purchases and, and it. And trying to buy things, some of which, you know, he had to sue for the right to buy because it was really on some, like, yo, y' all not gonna let the black man buy, even though I got the money. And some of which he's just been. Yeah. Making major moves. So shout to Byron Allen. I think it's a wonderful thing.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, listen, it's going to. It's going to require people on the left essentially buying media outlets for things to ever possibly for information to get out there in a real way. That's not right wing slanted.
Griffin
That was the celebration yesterday online.
Laura Rosenberg
So it's gonna have to be.
Ebro Darden
And I don't know Byron Allen's politics at all.
Griffin
I googled it and he's a Democrat.
Ebro Darden
Okay, but, yeah, but I don't know to, you know.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I'm not saying he's Hasan Piker, but Rupert Murdoch either.
Ebro Darden
Right. Speaking of black people owning things, did you hear about Kwanzaa Jones and the purchase of the San Diego Padres?
Laura Rosenberg
No.
Ebro Darden
You didn't hear a black woman might be the majority owner of the San Diego Padres?
Laura Rosenberg
I did not.
Ebro Darden
That's right. She is a well accomplished woman and her and her husband met in college and her husband, I believe I read, went on to become some like billionaire financier dude. And now she's gonna be buying a baseball team.
Laura Rosenberg
Her name is Kwanzaa.
Ebro Darden
That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
Black.
Griffin
That's fire.
Ebro Darden
You know what I'm saying?
Laura Rosenberg
She's an American artist, investor, entrepreneur, philanthropist.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, she's written some songs, was an artist, had some hit songs too.
Laura Rosenberg
Padre fans gonna be mad.
Ebro Darden
Why why would the Padres fans be mad? Griff?
Griffin
Why?
Ebro Darden
San Diego Republican is all hell. Why? Because you're telling me the white people in San Diego are going to be mad that a black woman owns the San Diego Padres.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, she's married to Jose Feliciano. He's a billionaire private equity investor, co founder of Clear Lake Capital, and her partner in philanthropy and business. Interesting.
Ebro Darden
And it hasn't been approved yet. I think they vote on it. I think they vote on it this week.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, I hope they get it. They seem like great guys.
Griffin
Every time you say interesting, it reminds me of that guy. What's it. What's his name?
Laura Rosenberg
Dylan.
Ebro Darden
Interesting.
Laura Rosenberg
Dylan reminds you of it. That's my beautiful impression, my homage. Love on the Spectrum.
Ebro Darden
Love on the Spectrum.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. Laura's starting to come around. She's starting to see these Dylan clips moving around.
Ebro Darden
So have you watched an episode?
Griffin
No. Yes. Yes, I have. But not with Dylan.
Laura Rosenberg
But not with. Not the new season.
Griffin
It wasn't for me, bro. Just wasn't for me.
Ebro Darden
Oh, wait, but you watched it before it got popping and then didn't go back.
Griffin
Yes, yes, yes.
Laura Rosenberg
You need to go back. You're playing yourself.
Commercial Announcer
Yes.
Ebro Darden
Anyway, that was the rundown intro for the outro. Before we get to the gurus, I've been meaning to put up this picture. Can I have clip one Rahsaan?
Griffin

Laura Rosenberg
Also, in the meantime, while I was looking for that Laura I sent you, you didn't mention the other day that Cardi and Stefon Diggs were all hugged up together again.
Griffin
Yes. Yeah. Yeah, they are. They were at, like, a Mother's Day celebration.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, for his event. They were, like, acting like. I don't know, it was all coup de la with Cardi and stuff on, I guess.
Ebro Darden
You all right? Rah. It Says here, gold statue in Mar a Lago dedicated to Trump.
Griffin
Look at that. Look at that. I want to make sure everyone can hear. Okay, Sir.
Donald Trump (clip)
Hello, everybody. I want to thank you so much for being there today.
Ebro Darden
And he's not.
Donald Trump (clip)
More importantly, for what you did. The. The statue is beautiful. You know, I saw it during the weekend. We had a big PGA tournament with a. A great champion and all. Great champions, actually. But. But it was a great tournament, and I got to look at it very closely, and it's incredible.
Ebro Darden
They clearly didn't read the Bible.
Donald Trump (clip)
Was done for love. And I want to thank Mark Burns, a pastor. He's a good pastor. He's a good man. I've known him a long time. He's been with me from the beginning.
Ebro Darden
Tablets.
Donald Trump (clip)
Maybe about two days later. Right?
Ebro Darden
Two days.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Commercial Announcer
Mr. President.
Laura Rosenberg
He was.
Donald Trump (clip)
He was right at the beginning. And I appreciate.
Laura Rosenberg
Is it a.
Donald Trump (clip)
I want to thank everybody there. I don't know here. There's a good crowd of people, but I want to thank you all, and I won't forget it. And we. We love you all. And the country's doing great, and Iran is not doing good because of us. They are not doing well at all. And good things are happening. And I just want to really give you my love. And I wish I could be there where we want to make sure everything's going perfect on the war fronts. I figure you. You could understand that. But we'll all. We'll see you all around. I just want to. Again, it's. Everybody is taking pictures of it. Everybody is. My people told me that it's unbelievable. All day long they're taking pictures. They stand up next to it.
Laura Rosenberg
Wrap it up, buddy.
Donald Trump (clip)
It really came out beautiful. I don't know what to expect. I just want to thank you all, and we love you all and God bless America.
Laura Rosenberg
Where is that set? Mar a Lago.
Ebro Darden
Yeah. It says here in Mar a Lago.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
It's dedicated to Trump. Golden statue.
Laura Rosenberg
Yo. He love your man. He loves him. He loves him. Some Trump, boy.
Griffin
He loves himself.
Laura Rosenberg
He loves him. Some Trump. Did you see him with the Indiana Hoosiers yesterday?
Ebro Darden
I did not.
Laura Rosenberg
The football team. He just pulled the classic. He's reading the thing. Kurt Signetti, the head coach. Kurt? Who's Kurt? Where's Kurt? Who's Kurt? He's the head coach. He's standing right now. Oh, we love him. Didn't know who he was standing right next. He's standing right next to him. Then he finds out Fernando Mendoza is not there because he's he was with the Raiders getting ready, and he's like, oh, we don't like that. I don't like that he's not here. But he, like, he loves Trump.
Commercial Voice
He's.
Laura Rosenberg
He's. He said Mendoza called. All right, that's your quarterback. It's your quarterback calling Trump.
Ebro Darden
That's right. That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
From the record.
Ebro Darden
Those. Those Spaniards down there in Florida, they love him. Some Trump at.
Laura Rosenberg
From the record said, thanks for playing my video. Send a shipping address. I'll ship you a native New Yorker.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, shout to from the record. I didn't shout you out. That was him doing the. The Puerto Rico clip with Chris Farley.
Griffin
Good job.
Laura Rosenberg
He said, y' all deserve it, especially you, Rosenberg. Thank you. Thank you. From the record. I will gladly wear your native. Wear your native New Yorker hat. Troll.
Ebro Darden
Everybody, let's get to the gurus.
Donald Trump (clip)
Rosenberg. Laura, you know you are a beautiful queen.
Laura Rosenberg
Ebro, don't ever play yourself.
Donald Trump (clip)
You're not a guru.
Griffin
Ah. Breathe in, Breathe out. The. The original gurus. Gmail.com theoriginal gurus. Gmail.com. that's where you write to us, where the gurus unite to fight for what's right. Ebro, burn the sage.
Ebro Darden
Yo, it's not weird to y' all that the religious folks is throwing up gold statues, man? Ain't they, like, super, like. It's not weird.
Laura Rosenberg
So that was put up by religious people? Well, there he said the pastor.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, that's what I mean. Shout out. There was, like, religious folks there.
Griffin
It is weird. They're all weird.
Ebro Darden
That goes again. Isn't that, like, one of the amendments? And there wasn't a whole story?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't think they're called amendments, but I know what you're saying. Yeah. Commandments.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, thou shalt not worship false idols.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, there you go.
Griffin
All right. Well, Moses went to sage because you need it, because it came down and
Ebro Darden
it was worshiping a golden calf.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, I just. I just wish,
Ebro Darden
like, nobody stops and goes, yo, this is. This is what?
Griffin
This is.
Laura Rosenberg
So nobody, but they turn every single quote moral that anyone has. Like, they just throw out the window to be down with him.
Griffin
That's it. That's it. I just. Listen, I saw that. Did you guys see that nature boy documentary?
Ebro Darden
No.
Griffin
I was banging my head against a wall.
Laura Rosenberg
What's that?
Griffin
It's like a big documentary that's going on about this guy who basically built a cult. Some dude from Harlem. And he was, like, preaching to the animals. No, no. He was preaching like an AO Natural life. Like, back to. You know, back to the earth. Shawnie would have loved it.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Griffin
Until it got dark.
Laura Rosenberg
Until it got. Until my back.
Griffin
Yes. And then he just became, like, abusive and was doing insanely disgusting things to people, to the men and the women, and they went all over the world together. But it was straight up a cult. And I'm like, how do these people? Like, how do you believe in this man? Like, how this man had people sucking his toes. Grown ass men.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, grown men. Sucker Stove.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Griffin
It was crazy.
Ebro Darden
What kind of cold was that? You sure that was a cold?
Griffin
It's a sex cult. It turned. He eventually turned it into a sex call. Yeah. But it's like the trance that these people were in, because afterwards they interview them, and they're just like, oh, my God, I can't believe that was me.
Laura Rosenberg
But, like, Trump. Here's the thing about Trump that makes him interesting.
Ebro Darden
You put Nate. We're putting negativity.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Let's start over.
Laura Rosenberg
Here's the thing about Trump, though. He doesn't even, like, really try very hard. Like, these cult leaders, you know, they come up with a whole Persona, and they, like, bring these people in, generally speaking, and they find Trump, like, he doesn't even cover up that he's not about any of the things that he says. It's so clear.
Griffin
He has other people do it for him, though.
Laura Rosenberg
He's so clearly making his lines not even good.
Ebro Darden
Well, I got news for you guys. Marketing works. Yeah, I just, you know, the. And I. And I. I don't want to throw this in here and it's gonna offend people or whatever, but y' all just gonna have to get mad. There's so much that we think is, like, the best thing we've ever seen, or. It's all marketing. It's all made up. It's all smoke and mirrors. It's all fraudulent. Like, so much.
Laura Rosenberg
I know so much.
Ebro Darden
So much, yo, and I bring. I'm bringing this up, yo. People talk to me, like. And I told y' all this, like, I slapped their baby. When I talked about Michael Jackson, Thriller and all that, all that popped in my head was like, yo, the marketing of that really worked. That this guy whom I love and think is amazing, but he's a human like everyone else. People hold him beyond human, like, he's just not a regular person. You can. You're not allowed to speak like this. The gold glove and the spinning and the. The videos, music or whatever. White glove. I'm thinking statue now.
Laura Rosenberg
You offend.
Ebro Darden
Sequin Glove, but you know what I'm saying? And I love Mike and I love Thriller. Sure. But I'm not allowed. You're not allowed to talk about it?
Laura Rosenberg
Well, they act like it was sacred.
Ebro Darden
It was sacred. You know, I mean, and it's all. It's indoctrination, a lot of it. You know what I mean?
Laura Rosenberg
And this is why I'm so triggered. I have to. I think I've told you guys this before. This is why I'm triggered. And I'm going to be very mindful with how I talk about things on validate me. This is why I'm so triggered by self help stuff when, like Instagram videos of people being like, here's what you need to do. Even by people who I know are good people. I'm triggered by when people try to proclaim authority to explain to people how to do things.
Ebro Darden
Well, you're like that with the most recent news site cycle because people fall for it.
Laura Rosenberg
What do you mean?
Ebro Darden
Meaning, like proclaiming authority. Meaning someone who hasn't been validated or stamped by a trustworthy entity. Someone just saying, I know this, this is a fact. And you're like, but who are you?
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, but why is it a fact?
Ebro Darden
Why. But who are you?
Laura Rosenberg
What, you're telling me my life's going to be better if I do what now? What's your life like?
Ebro Darden
Right?
Laura Rosenberg
I don't. And it's, it's everywhere. It's every. That's why, like, people like, God bless, he's a nice guy. People like Gary Vee who speak with that level of like. And then you, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I don't know what's
Ebro Darden
going on with you, right?
Laura Rosenberg
You can't tell me.
Ebro Darden
I don't need.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, fine, let me be an idiot who's walking around, just surviving, getting by, doing my thing. I'm not going to be a multi, multi millionaire. I'll just be who I'm going to be. But I can't trust these people who proclaim themselves to be that. And people fall for all of them.
Ebro Darden
Because people are looking for the silver bullet. They're looking for lightning in a bottle. They're looking for a savior. They're looking. Which is what we deal with, this God complex we deal with, with politicians.
Laura Rosenberg
So they chose that savior. And for that many people, that savior was Christ or God or whatever. And they rock with that all forever. Until they meet this snake oil salesman who's been caught up in all these horrible real estate deals, who has terrible hair. Everything's bad. And they're like, no, no, but Christ. Can you step aside for a minute? I think I found the real.
Ebro Darden
But wait, no. The people that they trust. Parents, community leaders.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Religious leaders, TV outlet, media outlet. The people that they trust are saying, go this way.
Griffin
Yeah. Especially.
Ebro Darden
That's why to Laura's point, he. Trump's like, hey, hey, man. Well, yeah, I like dumb people. Hell, if I shot somebody on Fifth Avenue, they'd still vote for me. I mean, look, look at the bot. The buy the Bible. Hey, matter of fact, I'm gonna make my own Bible. You want one? I know the one you get in the hotel rooms and everywhere else is free, but this one, $50 plus it has my signature.
Laura Rosenberg
How about a cell phone?
Ebro Darden
How about a cell phone? You want a cell phone?
Laura Rosenberg
You might not get it.
Ebro Darden
You want some steaks? You want to tie? You want to tie? You want to go to Donald Trump University? Tell me what you need. What you need? I got it for you. I got it. I got all the.
Laura Rosenberg
Everything.
Ebro Darden
Airline, football teams, whatever.
Laura Rosenberg
All my kids getting rich.
Ebro Darden
You want a coin? You want a coin? You want a bitcoin? You want, you want.
Laura Rosenberg
You want a real coin or an imaginary coin? We got all the coins.
Ebro Darden
We got coins, we got phones, we got phones, we got shoes, we got
Laura Rosenberg
shapes, we got tops.
Ebro Darden
What do you want? What do you want?
Laura Rosenberg
What else do you need?
Griffin
And people bought them.
Ebro Darden
And people bought them. But my point is, he's being him. They've rallied around him because they know that he doesn't have. He's a soulless person. So the people who have an agenda went, we can use this guy, will use this guy, cuz he'll do whatever, Whatever. And he'll do what we ask him to do because we're gonna prop him up. And once we prop him up, then all of our agenda items get checked off and finished. That's why he doesn't have any morals.
Laura Rosenberg
That's why people are like, yeah, but he used to be, like, pro gay and he used to be pro choice, and he used to be. He's what? He's not any of these things.
Ebro Darden
He's whatever he needs.
Laura Rosenberg
He's whatever. That's why. That's why I always maintain the worst, most racist. The true white supremacy in that White House is Stephen Miller. Trump's just good with it.
Ebro Darden
And Stephen Bannon and Steve Bannon, who's
Laura Rosenberg
a few, in and out.
Griffin
Yeah, yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
But yeah, Miller's the architect at this point.
Griffin
Right? And he's just good with it. Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Trump's just fine. And other. Well, and some of the other people who do all the other things, they tell me they like it, so I just let it keep going. He's an empty vessel, to your point. All right, now we can do the gurus.
Griffin
All right,
Laura Rosenberg
You see the Trump Jordans. These are better than Jordan. They're Trump.
Griffin
All right, the original gurusmail.com where the gurus unite to fight for what's right. Burn the sage.
Ebro Darden
Ebro Zen.
Griffin
Okay. All right, Rosenberg, who's out there? Who's writing to us?
Laura Rosenberg
The original gurusmail.com the original gurusmail.com your destination. For clarity, this question is for Ebro.
Ebro Darden
Yes.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, Ebro's not a guru. Next question. Just kidding.
Ebro Darden
Here we go. You guys said I was Does Issa
Laura Rosenberg
have any friends of the opposite sex? And if so, how do you navigate managing those friendships? At a time when I feel society is forcing our kids to grow up faster than needed, I'm battling giving my daughter the space to be able to be in social settings with her friends, with being hypersensitive to preventing behaviors that could potentially cross boundaries. My daughter's 8 years old and has a close friend of the opposite sex. The other day, while driving them, by the way, can we just start out by saying that is such a wordy way to describe a boy? Yeah, like, why are we starting here? It's like my daughter has a friend who's a boy. Yeah, let's calm this down a notch. The other day, while driving them home from an activity, I noticed them in the backseat and he was playfully feeding his snack to her. I instantly told him to stop and after dropping him home, proceeded to try to have a conversation with her about being cognizant of behaviors that are not necessary or could be seen as inappropriate. I do want to preface this with we've had this conversation plenty of times before. But I'm also navigating a world where this generation seems more touchy feely and into doing the dumbest things than I remember going through when I was younger kid. My concerns don't stem from past traumas, but instead are rooted in a manner of wanting to be a conscientious and mindful parent. How do you have these conversations without aging your kids? Slash, opening them up to topics that they may not even be thinking of. For example, you're getting older, you shouldn't be sitting on people's laps, etc. Signed a conscious, conscientiously concerned mom.
Ebro Darden
Well, first eight first. Well, let me answer the first question you most of Issa's friends that are boys are kids of my friends. So in effect we is like, you know, cousins, black people, cousins. So. And then she's got her friends from school who are boys. Right. And I think they have a group chat or something like that.
Laura Rosenberg
That they're all in.
Ebro Darden
That they're all in. Right. So yes, I guess would be the answer to her first question. She has friends who are boys.
Laura Rosenberg
Okay.
Ebro Darden
The second thing I would say is you have to work as a parent to not look at everything through your adult lens. Right away. The first response to like, if, if I saw a boy feeding Issa food, let's say would be to hat would be to be like, yo, you don't know where his hands have been. Don't let him put that in your mouth. Not make it some intimate thing.
Griffin
Right, right.
Laura Rosenberg
It's unlikely that.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, like you're jumping. And she's eight, bro. Like you're are, you're jumping way ahead and putting ideas, as she acknowledged in her email, in their head. So you're, you got to stop looking at everything through your lens.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah, but it's a child of the
Ebro Darden
opposite sex, which, which also is just a peculiar way to write. So I think you have to do some unpacking on why you're there. And I was, I guess she kind of said, I think her interpretation of young people today is that they're because of social media, they're export exposed to more. And that's probably true.
Laura Rosenberg
But that doesn't mean you're less touchy feely today though.
Ebro Darden
Well, according to reports, I don't know. But, but, but once again, just because you're exposed doesn't mean you're interested it. And so you have to, you have to know your child.
Griffin
Yeah. And I think it's a case by case basis. Like if you don't want her sitting on a boy's lap, you be like, hey, tell her specifically about like maybe not, let's not do the lap thing, you know what I mean? And tell her how it makes you feel and why you don't want her to sit on the lap. But don't stop the friendship.
Ebro Darden
But also too, you also as a parent have to recall what you've allowed behaviorally with your child all the way back to like when they're 1, 2, 3 and 4 years old. Because if you allowed your child to be playful in this way and sit on uncle's laps or sit on brothers and cousins and da, da, da, and people that they're affectionate with that is not sexual. And then they have a friend with, so. And they're really friendly with someone, and that's the behavior that's been normal. And you. To make that an issue now is going to be confusing to them. And yes, you're gonna have to explain to them time and place right from wrong. Probably sooner than, like, Issa's not just sitting on people's laps and walking up to dudes. Why? Because when she was young, I was the only man that she did that with. Same as with Salasi. She just not out here holding dudes hands. Like, that's not something that her brain is gonna be comfortable with until a long time from now. You know what I'm saying? But that's for safety reasons. Me, for what this woman is concerned about, which is your kid is.
Laura Rosenberg
Where do you draw that line, though? Because. Right. I'm sure you have other loved ones. Your other friends with kids will pick up, you know, can pick up Selassie.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
Like, so where do you draw that line? I'm just asking it from as trying to learn myself. It's just where you draw that line.
Ebro Darden
Well, it's really just about, like, it's not often. It's not every day. It's not all the time. It happened at a birthday party or it happened at a, A, A cookout, but it's not like all the time that I'm just like, here, hold my child.
Griffin
Right, Right, right, right.
Ebro Darden
And if my child. If they reach out to pick up my child and my child doesn't reach out in return, don't pick up my child. Right.
Laura Rosenberg
If they're not into it.
Ebro Darden
If they're not into it or, you know that. And both of my kids so far are not the, like, hey, I want to just be passed around and carried by everybody.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
And that might be a personality.
Laura Rosenberg
Right, Right. And some could be. And you could still be teaching them that. Like. Yeah, but these are our.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
This is our inner circle. These are people.
Ebro Darden
That's right. And you. And you have to deal with their personality accordingly.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro Darden
So I don't know for this parent, I think sounds like you've already started having the convos, so now you just got to keep having the convos and see if she. And also give your child. In my opinion is my opinion. I'm not a professional. Give your child space and ask them if they understand.
Laura Rosenberg
Right.
Ebro Darden
Like one, like, do you actually understand what I'm saying? Are you just hearing it and you not really grasping why there's nuance here? And Things like that.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
You got to practice that with you.
Griffin
Most of the time when you ask them, you'll find out, and you'll be surprised that they don't know what you're saying.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Griffin
They don't understand, so you have to explain to them.
Laura Rosenberg
You're projecting a thing.
Griffin
Yeah. Because. Well, nobody not to do something. I always tell her, I'm like, do you understand why? And sometimes she'll be like, no, because you said so. And I'm like, no, let me explain. And she's like, oh, okay, Mommy. Okay. Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Well. And so. And I think I've talked about this on the show before. Like Issa with clothing. I had to, because her body type explained to her when she's 6, 7 years old why she can't and can't wear certain things.
Griffin
Yeah.
Ebro Darden
Because you look older, and people are going to confuse you with someone who's older in. In. In ways that you're not ready for yet.
Laura Rosenberg
That's a good way of doing it. That's a good way of saying something without saying too much.
Ebro Darden
Right, right. You're just not ready yet. It's too soon. Or. And by the way, I always reaffirm with my. With Issa so far. And I'll do the same thing with Selassie. What you're thinking and feeling is completely normal. There's nothing wrong with your thoughts. Completely normal is not in trouble. But let's just talk about time and place and timing and these other things, so.
Laura Rosenberg
So we all agree. Seem like a lovely parent. You obviously love your daughter. You have the conversations also, I think, chill out with just maybe a tiny like her. Having a friend who's a boy who she's comfortable with, who's clearly someone she knows, doesn't have to immediately elicit panic.
Ebro Darden
Well, not only that, but as a parent, she has to stop and think.
Donald Trump (clip)
You.
Ebro Darden
You encourage this friendship. The boy is in your car, Right. This is your friend. You've already embraced him as well, so now that. So if it was her and her girlfriend doing the same thing, would you feel the way you feel? So you're projecting an idea just because he's. So. He's a boy. It means they're friends. It means nothing. It could also mean something, but it likely means nothing, Right?
Griffin
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ebro Darden
And trust me, I don't think if it meant something, they'd be comfortable doing it in front of an adult.
Griffin
That's another thing, too. So just, you know, don't spiral. Have the conversation and take every situation as a case by case basis. But on top of that, just love your child and communicate. So say the gurus.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, Parents. Chill out, man.
Laura Rosenberg

Ebro Darden
And also, some parents, y' all need a reminder of what you was doing at 8 and 9 years old. Parents be trying to act like you was mad innocent. Eight, nine years old. You was listening to Trick Daddy and Trina.
Laura Rosenberg
8 or 9. Trick Daddy and Trina.
Ebro Darden
Yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
No, by the way, I was listening too short. By the way, if you were 8 and your parents allowed you to hear Trick Daddy.
Ebro Darden
Not allowed. Not allowed. It's not about allowed. I'm saying it happened. You heard it in passing. It's not like something your parents were. Now, there are parents who were. I'm not saying there weren't, but I'm just saying, listen, right now, I'm riding around listening to Kehlani or Chris Brown with Issa in the car. She 11. She. She's listening to Summer Walker and SZA.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, it's.
Ebro Darden
Have you heard these albums?
Laura Rosenberg
It's not Nan, but I hear what
Ebro Darden
you're saying, but you know what I'm saying. It's. But it's not. Not either. It's not as egregious as Nan, but it's in there.
Laura Rosenberg
Sir. Do we know, says Tony's comment about police brutality and the death of a human being choked out for eight minutes. What's next? Joking about Emmett Till. Deserved it. Just saying. Hear you.
Ebro Darden
Hear you. That's why people didn't like it.
Laura Rosenberg
Yeah. And again, no one trusts him. He spoke at a Trump rally. That's. That's the thing. He also opened up for Trump. That was a great joke someone made about him, too, by the way. They said. Someone said, yo, Tony Hinchcliffe, you're. You're exactly like Melania Trump. You're famous for opening up for Trump one time.
Ebro Darden
Well done. That is.
Laura Rosenberg
Well, no, there were a couple good ones. There was a couple good ones.
Ebro Darden

Ebro Darden

Griffin

Laura Rosenberg
You feel like that in retrospect, I feel that way.
Ebro Darden
You felt that also.
Laura Rosenberg
I wasn't in a great. I wasn't in a great mood.
Griffin
All right.
Laura Rosenberg
I mean, well, I hope I wasn't like, you know, it was still real feelings I had.
Ebro Darden
Yeah, yeah.
Laura Rosenberg
You know what? The things about feelings. And this is important for the kids, too.
Ebro Darden
Oh, wait, hang on.
Laura Rosenberg
They change. And by the way, another thing. Ms. Rachel says big feelings are okay.
Ebro Darden
That's right.
Laura Rosenberg
Sometimes you have big feelings. Sometimes the big feelings change within an hour.
Griffin
That's right.
Ebro Darden
