What's up? What's up? Liz Wilcox in the house, in your ears, on your walk, in your car. Why am I so weird? I don't know. I'm really. You know what? I don't even care if I'm weird. I think I'm awesome. And you're listening, so you might think I'm awesome too, which, by the way, automatically makes you my favorite. So you're my favorite. You heard it here first. Speaking of hearing, we're on episode 67 of the email sound booth podcast. Oh my gosh. Today let's talk about how to get people off of social media and onto your email list. Right? So here's five list building ideas for folks who love social media. I wish I loved social media. You know, actually as a human, I love social media. I'm a big Facebook girly. As a business owner, I hate social media. It's just too much. But if you're on social, if you're on the gram, you're on the TikTok, whatever the cool kids are on nowadays. And you know, you need to build your email list, but you have no idea how to get that following off of there. This is the episode for you, my friend. So let's get into it. Number one, monthly giveaways. So this, this can be physical, it can be digital stuff. Like if I was on there, I might do a monthly giveaway of, you know, three free months into my email marketing membership, right? And every month I give it away. I don't know. Or maybe every month I give away a different workshop, things that, you know, because my emm, my membership sells every day I make sales of it. So maybe I sell stuff that I bring awareness to, stuff that doesn't normally sell, right? Like my welcome. Or it sells when I'm selling it, but not in the interim, right? So maybe my welcome sequence workshop, normally I sell that in January. Maybe I do a giveaway in July for that, right? Maybe the next month I do my building community with email. The next month my metrics workshop, right? Or if you've got physical stuff you want to give away, could do that too. Or it could be a mix of both, right? So monthly giveaways, they have to join your list in order to be entered. And then, you know, you just draw from a hat or whatever, right? The second thing, kind of similar contests, right? Create some sort of contest. For example, I might do a contest where, you know, someone's going to get a free year into my membership, but they have to do xyz, right? They have to, you know, submit their welcome sequence. And the best welcome sequence is going to win that year in the membership, right? So think of a contest, right? It could be even if you're an E commerce brand, or maybe you do like you're a crochet blogger, you know, submit a photo of, you know, the favorite, your favorite thing you've ever, you know, made with your hands. The winner is going to get, you know, my entire library of patterns for free. You know, something like that. Do those. Obviously you can't do that monthly, like a giveaway, but you could do that periodically, right? And make sure what they're winning is applicable to your ideal customer. Right? Don't give away an iPad. Everyone wants one, right? Giving away a year full of patterns patterns ensures that this crochet blogger only gets people that, you know, need a year full of patterns because they're avid crocheters. Right? The next thing is quizzes. I find social media people when they're on social media, for some reason, they just turn into big giant quiz lovers, right? So if you're going to like say in your stories, you know, your Instagram reels, your posts, whatever, you know, promote a quiz, create a quiz and promote it. Say, hey, do you want to know what kind of crochet project you should do next? Take this quiz, right? So you create the quiz and they, you know, enter their email to get the results, right? That way you're getting people that are interested, right? It's not just everyone, it's those really warm leads. So quizzes are a great way to get people off of social media and onto your email lists. Super cool. The next thing are email exclusives, right? This is great if you have a really engaged following, right? And you can say, actually over on my email list and I'm sorry, if you're watching YouTube, my nose is itchy for some reason. If you're. So what was I talking about? Oh, email exclusive. So if you have this engaged following, you can tell them, you know, actually I give my most awesome amazing tips, tricks, pictures, whatever you're offering, right over on my email list. So go over there. So this, you don't have to give a giveaway, you don't have to do contest, nothing, you know, extra work. Just say, you know, I email my list once a week. It's this exclusive, intimate thing. Move over there and your super fans, your engaged people definitely will. All right, number five, we are cruising through this five in less than six minutes. Awesome. The product pre launch. So if and when should be when, right? Never. If when you are launching a product in the pre launch. So the 30, 60, 90 days before the product is going to be launched or created, get people on your list. Hey, I'm going to be launching XYZ or I've got XYZ Resource coming. Get all the info by joining the list, right? So I do this a lot during Black Friday. I say, hey, you know, I've got this annual pass coming. If you join the list, you're going to get all the details about it and you're going to be the first to be notified. And as people on social media, they are following people that makes them, that make them feel special, right? So saying again, this kind of goes with number four, that email exclusivity, right? Hey, I'm launching this thing. I'm creating this thing. If you want the details, I'll be sharing all the details over on my email list. So kind of, you know, social media is great for buzz, right? And this kind of carries that buzz over to your email list. All right, that was super quick, right? Just seven minutes. So these are five ways to grow your email list. Getting those people off of social media and onto your email list again. Monthly giveaways, contests, quizzes, email exclusivity and product pre launch. All right, now if you're ready to really take your list building seriously and start emailing when those people join your list, I'd love for you to join email marketing membership. You can go to the link in the show notes. It's nine a month. I'll send you an email every single week that you can take and make your own. So you know what to do with all these people that are joining your list from all these social media strategies you're doing this year. All right, as always, I'm Liz Wilcox.
