What's up? What's up? Liz Wilcox, in your ears, you know, the fresh princess of email marketing. This is episode 79 of the Email Sound Booth podcast and today we are going to talk about a different kind of super signature that I'm going to be experimenting with the first half of 2025. So. So if you don't know what a super signature is, it's that little footer at the bottom of your emails. A lot of people will say, use it as like a ps. So ps, when you're ready, here are ways we can work together. And then they might list out, you know, two paid offers in their podcast or something like that. Right? I'm sure you have seen it. Now, I haven't done a super signature because a lot of email marketers do them and, and I am the fresh princess of email marketing, right? I like to do things that are fresh, not old, stale. Done has been wannabe. You know, I like fresh takes. But I finally come up with a way for me to use the super signature because the ps the bottom of that email is great real estate and I don't want it to go to waste. I finally came up with something that feels good for me, that isn't just join my membership. Join my membership. Right? Of course I want you to join my membership. You can check out the link in the show notes, but I just feel like there's a better, there's something else that I could put at the bottom of the email. So what I'm going to do because I am hella organized, if you're watching on YouTube. Side note, if you're not watching on YouTube, go to watchliz.com and, you know, subscribe to my YouTube channel. That's what we're doing in 2025, baby. Anyway, what I'm going to be doing is in 2025, I pretty much have everything mapped out all 12 months. Now, I can only do this because I've been doing my membership for four years now. And you know, not that it's a rinse and repeat situation, but I am, you know, recycling, redoing a lot of old content, keeping it fresh, right? There's a them and giving the people what they want. So I have pretty much the whole year mapped out on YouTube. You can see I've got a calendar behind me right now. That's what I'm doing with my super signature. Instead of putting, hey, join my membership, come to this workshop. I'm actually just going to have a calendar. This is something I still have to implement that says, what's coming up in the next 90 days? You know, so instead of, you know, psycho, when you're ready, here are ways I can help you. I'm going to say, you know, P.S. in case you're wondering, here's coming up, here's what's coming up in the next 90 days. And I'm going to link out, you know, January, last week of January, foundations week. We're going to cover, you know, welcome sequences and the foundations of list building. You know, February 16th, email marketing membership turns four years old. You know, March 18th through whatever annual pass goes back on sale. Now this is a way, number one, to get my members knowing what's happening to get my annual pass holders specifically because they get all, all this for free. They don't have to pay for anything. When you're an annual pass holder, you get everything that I do for free. Unless it's like a service, right? Unless it's taking up a lot of my time. Like I'm looking at your, you know, welcome sequence or something. That's a service, that's not a product. But you get all my products for free, right? And so they need to know what products, what live workshops, what I'm promoting. They need to know that. So it's going to help the passholders make the most of their pass, right? Then it's going to help $9 a month members know, like, oh, you get this for free in the pass. The next time the pass comes up I'm going to upgrade. So it's a way of pre launching and then for non members it's a way of showing like number one, Liz has a plan and she implements it. Maybe I don't have a plan and so I need to follow the person with the plan and that's Liz Wilcox. So it's going to keep them opening the emails, it's going to show them, hey, last week of January, that's coming up soon. Welcome sequence. I need to work on my welcome sequence. Maybe I'll buy that so that when I sell it they're more apt to buy. Listen, people don't buy when you sell something. They buy when they're ready. But they can get more ready by being prepared by knowing what is coming. So that's what I'm going to do with my super signature. Instead of just putting offers, I'm going to put a calendar. I'm going to tell people what's coming up each quarter. That way when I put it in an email, it's not sprung on them. They knew it was coming. So that's my experiment for the first half of 2025. Of course, I'll have to update you this summer on how it goes, how I felt about it. You know, the good, the bad, the ugly. Can't wait. But that's my different spin on the super signature. Can't wait to update you. As always, if you are not a member of email marketing membership yet, I'd love to have you join. Uh, you know you can get in for just $9 a month. You get weekly templates sent directly to your inbox for you to take and make your own for newsletters. You also get access to once a month Q and A quarterly guest for guest experts and some other really awesome stuff for just nine bucks. Link in the show notes. All right, that's it for today. As always, I'm Liz Wilcox. You are awesome. I'll see you on the next episode. If I knew how to end this.

Episode 79: A Different Kind of Super Signature
Release Date: January 16, 2025
In Episode 79 of The Email Sound Booth with Liz Wilcox, titled "A Different Kind of Super Signature," host Liz Wilcox delves into her innovative approach to utilizing the often-overlooked email footer—commonly referred to as the "super signature." This episode is particularly insightful for online business owners and email marketers looking to enhance their email marketing strategies by maximizing every element of their communication, including the footer.
Liz begins by defining the concept of a super signature:
Liz Wilcox [00:30]: "A super signature is that little footer at the bottom of your emails. A lot of people will say, use it as like a PS… when you're ready, here are ways we can work together."
Traditionally, super signatures serve as a soft pitch for services or products, often listing out paid offers or directing readers to memberships. However, Liz identifies a common issue: many email marketers utilize this space in a stale and conventional manner, leading to underutilization of its potential.
Determined to break away from the norm, Liz introduces her fresh take on the super signature. Instead of the usual promotional content, she plans to incorporate a dynamic calendar highlighting upcoming events and offerings.
Liz Wilcox [02:15]: "Instead of putting, hey, join my membership, come to this workshop. I'm actually just going to have a calendar. This is something I still have to implement that says, what's coming up in the next 90 days."
Key Elements of Liz’s Super Signature Strategy:
Annual Planning: Leveraging her experience from her four-year-old membership program, Liz has meticulously mapped out her content and offerings for the entire year. This structured approach ensures consistency and relevance in her communications.
Calendar Integration: By embedding a calendar within the super signature, Liz provides subscribers with a sneak peek into upcoming workshops, foundational courses, and other key events. This not only keeps her audience informed but also fosters anticipation and engagement.
Segmented Information: The calendar differentiates between offerings for annual pass holders and general subscribers. For instance:
Liz Wilcox [04:00]: "People don't buy when you sell something. They buy when they're ready. But they can get more ready by being prepared by knowing what is coming."
Liz outlines the multifaceted advantages of her revamped super signature:
Enhanced Engagement: By providing valuable information about upcoming events, subscribers are more likely to stay engaged and look forward to future emails.
Transparency and Trust: Sharing her well-thought-out plan conveys professionalism and reliability, encouraging subscribers to stay connected and potentially convert into members or pass holders.
Value for Different Segments: Tailoring information for both annual pass holders and monthly members ensures that each group feels catered to, maximizing the perceived value of their subscriptions.
Promotional Efficiency: This approach subtly promotes upcoming offerings without the aggressive sales pitch, aligning with Liz’s philosophy that genuine value drives conversions more effectively than hard selling.
Liz plans to implement this strategy in the first half of 2025 and intends to share her experiences and the outcomes with her audience later in the year.
Liz Wilcox [05:20]: "Of course, I'll have to update you this summer on how it goes, how I felt about it. You know, the good, the bad, the ugly."
This transparency not only builds trust but also invites feedback, fostering a community-driven approach to her email marketing endeavors.
Towards the end of the episode, Liz briefly touches upon her membership program, highlighting the benefits and encouraging listeners to join.
Liz Wilcox [05:50]: "If you are not a member of email marketing membership yet, I'd love to have you join. You can get in for just $9 a month… You also get access to once a month Q and A, quarterly guest experts, and some other really awesome stuff for just nine bucks."
While this segment serves as a promotional snippet, it aligns with the overall theme of providing value and fostering community among her subscribers.
Episode 79 of The Email Sound Booth offers a fresh perspective on email marketing by reimagining the super signature as a strategic tool for engagement and transparency. Liz Wilcox’s innovative approach underscores the importance of maximizing every component of email communication to build trust, anticipation, and value among subscribers.
