TikTok's got millions of them. Could you whip one up in under eight? Probably. But hey, it's not a race. Grab the recipes on TikTok and start cooking.
Tim Dillon
Hey everybody, welcome back to the Find out podcast. We have a great show show for you today. We have a guest that really doesn't need any introductions, but I'm going to introduce him anyways. We have former naval captain, former astronaut, and current United States senator from Arizona. Senator Mark Kelly is with us today. Senator, how you doing?
Senator Mark Kelly
I'm good, Tim. How are you doing?
Tim Dillon
We're, we are great. Unfortunately, we have to talk about some silly stuff with you, but we want to talk about your, this sort of back and forth with, with secretary of defense. I'm not going to use the other term. Pete Hegsett, who seems to be really interested in going at you over and over again and you know, with the video that you did where you asked service members to not take or not follow any illegal orders, he was mad about that. And now he's mad at you about leaking with air quotes, classified information. Senator, can you set the record straight? Did you leak any classified information that came from Pete Hegseth?
Senator Mark Kelly
No, I quoted him. Not classified.
Tim Dillon
In a public hearing, right?
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah. I mean, in an open hearing, we were, you know, talking about the number of munitions we use. And by the way, you know, Pete Hegseth, you know, running around declaring we've hit 10,000 targets and set a new record, 12,000 now 15,000. You know, to hit 15,000 targets, you got to use a lot of weapons, a lot of munitions. And that has an impact. So we talked about it. He said it would take years to replenish, you know, these munitions. So the thing with him is he doesn't want to be held accountable for his actions. 15,000 targets. What did we get out of this?
Luke
Right?
Senator Mark Kelly
We've got 13 dead Americans, 150 dead Iranian kids and other innocent Iranian people. Straight A, Hormuz closed and Americans are having to deal with these skyrocketing gas prices with no end in sight. And they got, they have no plan. I mean, they, these guys are flailing. They have no idea what they're doing. And now Donald Trump's in China and he's, he's going to try to negotiate, you know, something for, you know, where we're supposed to come out of this, you know, summit better positioned. He's going in there and the Strait of Hormuz is closed. So, you know, Hegseth, he doesn't want to be responsible for the bad decisions he has made.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, I mean, I think it's very clear and I think that, you know, we, we, I don't think there's a single American out there that even understands what we're doing in Iran. And you know, you, you have been in combat before, so you are definitely an expert in this area. Do you have any sense of what on earth we're doing there or how on earth we will ever even extract ourselves from this, from this quagmire? Because it seems like Iran, it seems like they've got Donald Trump exactly where they want him.
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah, that's the problem they have now. That's what happens when you go to war without a strategic goal and without a plan and without any kind of a timeline and without thinking about what's the exit strategy. What do we want to accomplish? Initially they said, well, if we bomb them in three days, there'll be regime change. And I think Donald Trump was probably thinking he's, he's going to, gonna have an Iranian government he can make hotel deals with. And when that didn't happen, they said, well, we've got to get rid of the nuclear material, the enriched uranium, which by the way was enriched at a very low level. When the, what was called the jcpoa, the Iran deal was still in place, Donald Trump tore up that deal and then they enriched uranium to a higher level. And then when he realized, well, that's going to be hard to do, well, then it became about the ballistic missiles and then about destroying their navy. At one point we were told, well, there's a imminent threat that something's going to happen in the future. Like what is, how ridiculous is that? That's like, what is imminent about the future. So they painted themselves into a quarter and they don't know how to get out.
Luke
Well, and I just, I just saw the other day, I think, yeah, New York Times is reporting that our own Intelligence shows that Iran has operational access to 30 of its 33 missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz. And so, like, we view what have we hit, 15,000 targets, right? We've used all of our missiles. We are maybe low on munitions. And yet what exactly are we hitting? Because it doesn't seem like we're actually hitting, hitting the things they said there were 150 ships at the bottom of the Strait of Hormuz or something. It's hard to know what they're actually doing, which means it's hard to know what is actually real.
Senator Mark Kelly
Well, usually when you get into a conflict like this and you start using air power against an enemy, you do it for another reason. And it's usually to shape the battlefield for ground force that's going to come in. You know, in Desert storm, I flew 39 combat missions, and a lot of that was to weaken them before we were going to push them out of Kuwait and push them back up into, into Iraq. That. That's not the case here. I mean, you could see it in what Pete Hegseth has said throughout this conflict, especially when combat operations were still going on. For him, it was all about records. Right. Which I just find objectionable and a horrible thing to do. These are people's lives. You know, the President just said, you know, four or five days ago that he's going to do a love tap and start bombing them again. It'll be just a love tap. I mean, this isn't a joke. I mean, this is serious business when you decide to take our country to war. Thirteen dead Americans, the possibility of others, the Iranians threatening the infrastructure that brings 20% of the world's oil through a very narrow strait, but also just destroying the, the production capacity, which they could, they could do. These aren't serious people. I mean, the, the President doesn't spend enough time trying to understand what the problem is. And he doesn't listen to people around him. He doesn't take advice. And Hegseth is just trying to perform for his boss. I mean, that's pretty obvious. He's trying to play the role of Secretary of Defense. Sometimes I think. You know who Colin Jost is on snl.
Tim Dillon
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Senator Mark Kelly
Sometimes I think Pete Hegseth is doing an impersonation of Colin Jost impersonating Pete Hegseth.
Tim Dillon
It feels that way, right? I mean, it's, it's, it's crazy. And I mean, Donald Trump did pick the weekend anchor of Fox and Friends to be his Secretary of Defense. So he clearly wanted somebody to perform. But we've even heard reports that he is not getting the unfiltered information because of the bubble that has been created around him. Nobody wants to make him mad. Have you, I assume you have heard something similar to that effect.
Senator Mark Kelly
I mean, I hear it in the, certainly, I hear it in the press. I mean, I, you know, I'm obviously not close to this administration.
Rich
Really?
Tim Dillon
I didn't think you were any meetings.
Senator Mark Kelly
Donald Trump said I should be hanged.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Senator Mark Kelly
And then executed. And then he said prosecuted. It's funny. He couldn't even get the order right.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Senator Mark Kelly
He's, he's even bad at, as he would say, he's even bad at Dictator.
Tim Dillon
Right. I mean, he's bad at everything except for scamming people. Right. I mean, this is, and you wrote about this on, on Social the other day when you, because you have filed a lawsuit against Pete Hegseth for violations of your First Amendment right, which I'm glad you were doing that. But it's, it's, it's just, it's just clear that these guys are just completely like out of their depth. They don't know what they're doing and they're having, it's having real world consequences. Right. I mean, what, what do you, what, what are you hearing from like the, the current active duty military that I'm sure you must talk to all the time behind closed doors or behind off camera, like, what are they saying about this administration, both Hegseth, Trump, and then also that this war that they're waging that nobody seems to understand why we're there.
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah, exactly that. And you know, I, you know, I hear stuff privately from members of the military and active duty. They're very appreciative of me sticking up for them. And especially the ones that are going to be retired someday, we're defending their First Amendment rights. There's 2 million retired service members. I'm suing Pete Hegseth because he's trying to violate not only my First Amendment rights to, you know, say what I believe to hold this government accountable, but the other 2 million retired service members. By the way, in my case, you know, last week in front of the court, what Pete Hegseth's lawyer said, which is a Department of justice lawyer, he said, hey, if, if, if former members of the military, retired service members want to be able to say what they think they should just give up their retirement, give up their pension, give up their health care, then they could, then they could say what they want, then they could be like Everybody else, I mean, how, how nuts is that? That the people who have given the most to this country, risk their lives for this country, become second class citizens under this administration. You know, they go, they, you know, they can go pound sand. I'm not backing down from these.
Rich
Smells pretty fascist to me.
Senator Mark Kelly
I don't, yeah, it's, it's pretty horrendous.
Luke
They seem to think service members, yeah,
Senator Mark Kelly
2 million of them could become second class citizens under Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth. Ain't happening. Not on my watch.
Luke
They seem to think that, that working for the government is the government doing you a favor. That, that Donald Trump is personally doing you a favor and now you owe him loyalty for the rest of your life. Which would track, based on how he's employed people for, you know, across his entire life. I think they really struggle with the idea that the government is here to protect the rights of people, not to extract concessions to people in exchange.
Senator Mark Kelly
It's pretty wild how the people around him are so loyal to him. And even members of Congress, US Senators, they're so loyal and they kiss his ass and then suddenly he's not loyal to them. He kicks, he kicks them.
Rich
I mean, they are gone at the drop of a hat.
Senator Mark Kelly
Oh, all of them like it, it
Tim Dillon
never pays to, to be loyal to him because eventually you will do something. It's the same thing he did in New York because I live in New York City and like there's stories about him screwing contractor, you know, working class Americans, you know, all of this stuff. And now, you know what I think is the most rich part about this is how he's like, I'm the most pro military and I back the blue, which many, many police officers retire from service to then become police officers. So you're taking away from police officers as well. It seems to me that this administration is the least pro veteran and pro active duty service member administration in history.
Senator Mark Kelly
And the least pro police. I mean, cops were beaten up here on Capitol Hill. And he pardons these people that were in jail for assaulting police officers.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Senator Mark Kelly
Pardon them. I think like, you know, pro military, I mean, pro military. What's, what's more insulting than calling dead service members suckers and losers?
Tim Dillon
Right?
Senator Mark Kelly
Dead Marines he's referring to that died at Bella Woods. Suckers and losers. I don't see what they, you know, what they got out of it. He doesn't, he doesn't understand members of the military. He doesn't understand us. And, and he thinks he knows more than everybody about everything. You remember when he said he knew more than the admirals and generals. Because he went. Oh, yeah, because he went to military high school.
Luke
Right, right.
Tim Dillon
Finished bottom of his class, I believe,
Rich
right before he d. He dodged the draft like five times.
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah. I don't, I don't know. I don't know where he finished, what his class rank was, but I'm, Yeah,
Tim Dillon
I, I'm not going to put. Those are my words now. Your words, Senator, but. Well, we've got one. We've only got one minute left to do, Senator, and you've been very gracious to. I know you're very busy, but on. So obviously we are looking towards hopefully a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate. You know, what are the things, like if, if the Democrats do take control of the Senate in November, like what are the things that you guys will do to make, to hold this administration accountable?
Senator Mark Kelly
Well, I think they're. We're a country of laws. Right. We have to respect the law.
Luke
Yep.
Senator Mark Kelly
And I think there needs to be. For the most egregious stuff that this administration is doing and continues to do and has done, people need to be held accountable. There needs to be investigations into, you know, into this, into this stuff because our, my Republican colleagues unfortunately just let all this stuff go. And, you know, they, you know, because they're afraid of this president and they shouldn't be. You know, we shouldn't treat any president ever the way some people treat him, with this blind loyalty.
Luke
Right.
Senator Mark Kelly
You know, like he's, you know, some kind of royalty. He's not. We elected him. Not me. People elected him to be.
Tim Dillon
Right. Yeah. No one on this, no one in this group. Certainly did.
Rich
Not any of us.
Tim Dillon
Well, Senator, I know you're, you're. Oh, go ahead. Sorry, sir.
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah, no, I know I, I got, I gotta go. I gotta run to a committee hearing. But we need to help hold people accountable, period.
Tim Dillon
Yeah.
Senator Mark Kelly
And, and then we need to deliver for the American people with like, real policies that improve their lives. People are struggling. Half of Americans are having a hard time affording food. Young people can't, especially young people can't afford a place to live. When I was in the Navy and I was a lieutenant in the Navy, I was 28 years old, I was able to buy a house. You know what? 28 year old buys a house today, most people are in their 40s before they can afford a place to live.
Luke
Right.
Senator Mark Kelly
And it's because of policies from this administration and administrations like them. It didn't start with Trump, but there has been a systematic plan And a well executed plan to deliver this nation's wealth to the top 1%. And it's unsustainable.
Tim Dillon
So we're.
Senator Mark Kelly
We got to fix that.
Tim Dillon
Well, Senator, we completely agree with you and we really appreciate you not only taking the time to talk to us, but also standing up to this administration. I know being in their. In their crosshairs is not fun with lawsuits and the president making ridiculous threats and things like that, but we all, you know, we need people to stand up and fight back to. Against these folks. And you are doing that. So we thank you.
Senator Mark Kelly
Hey, somebody. Somebody has to do it. Might as well be me.
Tim Dillon
Well, there you go. Well, we appreciate it, sir, and our followers appreciate it. We'll talk to you soon. Thanks.
Senator Mark Kelly
Thank you. Bye.
Tim Dillon
All right. Welcome back, everybody. Well, that was. That was a great guest. He is. He's an impressive dude. I. I met him a couple weeks ago and had a little time and he's like, I don't think I've seen him angry like that recently. And you could tell that like there's. I mean, there's plenty of stuff to be angry about. And this Hegseth stuff is so ridiculous. Like saying that he leave classified information when Hegseth literally said it in a public hearing.
Rich
It was just so obvious that Hegseth is fucking emasculated.
Senator Mark Kelly
Yeah.
Luke
Oh, yeah.
Rich
Dude's a big fucking poser from like the. The American flag little thing that he wears in his pocket so that it looks like metals to like.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Rich
Everything he. Look, he is emasculated.
Tim Dillon
Well, I mean, Mark Kelly is who P. Hegseth wants to be, right? Yeah, like a, you know, a war hero, an astronaut, you know, respected. Well, respected individual. Not. Yep. Stepped into. Stepped in with his. When his wife was nearly murdered and like, you know, stood by her and then like ran in a seat that she was going to run for and has turned out to be a great senator. And I think, like, they're scared of him because his background terrifies them for if he decides to run for president in 28, because he has an unpeachable record.
Luke
The. These. These people, they. They are terrified of. Of real leaders. Like, real. If you. If you think of like, who are the dumbest people you worked with, you know, 15 years ago? Like, if you're in your 40s, like, who are the dumbest people you first
Rich
worked with have a job 15 years ago?
Tim Dillon
Luke doesn't. You're out of this, Luke.
Luke
And I'm talking like, who was your first, like low level supervisor or mid manager Those are. Those are the people we're talking about. They're people who. They're unemployable unless there's somebody like Donald Trump who's carrying them with him on his coattails because he has so much money and he was born with so much power that he's just automatically trusted. Like, they're riding the coattails of, like, Kanye or, like, an EPO baby. It's. And so when they're. When they encounter somebody like Senator Kelly, they're deeply intimidated and, frankly, I think terrified. And because they know that not only can he. Not only does he have the knowledge to run circles around them on any given topic, but he also has that leadership presence that. That skill that none of those people have that allows you to just destroy somebody face to face if. If the time, you know, if the situation warrants it.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Luke
And they can't. And they can't. They can't hang with that.
Rich
Well, not to pivot, but to another person that is capable of doing that. And speaking of another alcoholic, did you guys see Chris Van Hollen in the hearing with Cash Patel yesterday?
Tim Dillon
Oh, yeah.
Luke
I did not.
Rich
Oh, my God. It was glorious.
Luke
Same.
Rich
There was so many moments in that that was like, oh, my God. He literally fucking just nailed Cash Patel
Tim Dillon
to the ground over and over again,
Rich
over and over and over again about this drinking thing. Like, Van Holland's like, would you. Would you submit to taking this test? This. This alcoholics test? And Patel goes, I'll take any test you take. And Van Holland goes, all right, let's take it right now, then, on the cameras.
Tim Dillon
And
Rich
it was the. It was amazing.
Tim Dillon
I. I mean, you know what I think about Chris.
Rich
I know what you think about.
Tim Dillon
I. But, like, I. He's not generally a confrontational guy like that.
Rich
No.
Tim Dillon
So, like, to do that also, like, Christopher Holland is a very smart guy, and Cash Patel is a. And so, like, he set him up for that. Like, it was just like a. Like. Like Van Holland was given the biggest softball on earth because he was trying to say that, like, he. Like, Holland is like. He was doing the old, I know you are, but what am I?
Rich
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
Line. And it's like, it doesn't really work at a hearing where you're also under oath. And you gotta, like,
Rich
there's a moment when Van Hollen's like, so there's been no occasions where your security detail has had trouble finding you. And Patel goes, it's. It's a total farce. I don't even know where you get this stuff. And Van Holland goes. It's been written and documented and recorded. Like, see, that's a moment, in my opinion, where they should just come out and be like, okay, you just lied. You lied. You. There you go. Contempt. You know, you lied.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, but the problem is the Democrats don't have that power. I know.
Rich
I just.
Tim Dillon
I know, but, but that's part of the thing.
Rich
That's, that's part of the reason why we got to win, oh, 100%.
Tim Dillon
And it's also like that sad reality is there are no cons right now. There are currently no consequences for lying. So why would, you know, if you're. If. Why wouldn't you? I mean, I'm not defending him, to be clear, but I'm saying, like, there are no consequences because the Republicans in the Senate, the Republicans in the House will let them do whatever they want.
Luke
They're not going to.
Tim Dillon
They could threaten. They're not going to member of, of, you know, going after Mark Kelly, whose wife was almost murdered in the street, and saying that Mark Kelly should be hanged. Like, I mean, and there's no consequences. And frankly, the media just block glosses over it because they're like, oh, well, it's just Trump being Trump. And it's like, why are we grading the president? Well, why are we. Why are we grading the president on a fucking curve?
Luke
This isn't like English continually resets, right?
Rich
Jake Caparani, Integrity. There'd be a book about Trump right now.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, I mean, I'm also like, this whole thing about, like, holding information that the public, like, needs to make decisions on whether they support someone or not, waiting for a book to come out and to make money off it. Like, there's no way to stop it. But, like, it's so gross.
Luke
I mean, he was going to make some.
Rich
Okay, you guys could correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there was only ever one moment where Biden looked to be asleep. And even when that was happening, it was at some kind of an event and he had his eyes closed for. For a long time. And then the, like, I. An aide or like somebody came up and he immediately was awake.
Tim Dillon
Like, had his eyes open talking to
Rich
him, so it looked like he. More was resting his eyes. There have now been. And, and they called it. The media called him Sleepy Joe for
Tim Dillon
years, which they took from Donald Trump. They just used his phrases.
Luke
Right?
Rich
And now, not only this week where Donald Trump had his eyes closed for like, you know, the longest blink ever is what Republicans are calling it, but it's at least it's like once a week now where he's in a fucking
Tim Dillon
meeting and he's, he's sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. Why is that not. Like I actually posted that on, on Threads the other day. I was like, and I hate doing the, like, if this was Joe Biden,
Luke
you can't go down that path.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, but, but like what are we do. I mean, yes, there were problems with Biden at the end of the term. I'm not, I'm not trying to whitewash that, but like they don't do the same. Like he's got the marks on his hands. He's now got the nut marks in the back of his ears. If you've seen those.
Rich
Like, and in his nursing.
Luke
Well, yeah, just a fungal infection.
Tim Dillon
That's just, yeah, that's just from. I'm not, we're not going down there. But you know, but like, and he is falling asleep and all of this stuff. He's the same age that Biden was roughly at his points. And like, they don't, it's just like
Rich
Biden wasn't up at 3 in the morning
Luke
posting or posted 55 times in four hours Sunday night from like 10 to 1 in the morning, Eastern. Yeah, 55 posts. And, and it was, it was right before the inflation stuff came out the next morning. I've actually noticed like when bad jobs reports come out, when inflation reports come out, when any kind of thing's coming.
Senator Mark Kelly
He knows.
Luke
He, they always get the advanced briefing. He knows. And he tries to get ahead of it with his spray and pray, flood the zone trash and real fucking tired of it.
Rich
I can't lie.
Luke
You can see it coming now. You're like, oh, what's going to drop in the morning if he's, if he's screaming about Obama committing treason at 2am you know that something really good is going to hit your inbox at 6am the next day.
Rich
I mean, I was actually just thinking about it. You shouldn't be able to say that the acting FBI director is a fucking idiot and have it be the truth. Like, yeah, just flat out you shouldn't
Luke
be able to say that you should be controversial. Yeah, right.
Rich
You see, me personally, I liked when my president was smarter than me, and that's not the case now either.
Tim Dillon
I mean, you can't believe anything these guys say.
Rich
You know, the, the, the, the Secretary of Defense should not get all of his war strategy from a fucking game of risk.
Luke
Yeah, right.
Rich
And yet that's what this, we're ruled by the dumbest of fucking people.
Luke
I Remember when George Bush. George W. Bush was. I do Vaguely remember George H.W. bush being president, but when George W. Bush was president, supporters of Republicans were saying things like, well, I just, I like him because I just feel like you can sit down and have a beer with him and he's just going to be a regular guy. And I was like, I don't want a regular guy. I can have a beer with him.
Rich
Death of critical thought began right there. Also when, because the same people said that shit about Trump, they were like, I like him because he's a straight
Luke
talker, says what he thinks.
Rich
No, you, you just like him because he uses words you can spell all the time. He never says something that you don't go, you don't understand.
Tim Dillon
Racism.
Rich
Yeah, that too. But it's like he says things like, let's build a wall. And you're like, I have a wall. And so you're good.
Luke
You know who, you know who else says, says. What they mean is just any random guy from the, the dive bar down the street. You can find that guy. They're like, it turns out it's not rare like that guy. They're yelling at the wall, they're yelling at the video game machine, they're yelling at a shopping cart. Like, those people are everywhere and they're, they're drunk and yelling and saying what they think, and it's not valuable.
Tim Dillon
No, no. But, but also the, the George W. Bush. And I'll get off it, but like, the George. The Bush thing is funny. It's like you actually can't have a beer with him because he got a massive substance abuse problem.
Luke
Oh, that's true.
Tim Dillon
So, like, it's all.
Rich
You give that to Trump. He's not a, he's not an alcoholic.
Tim Dillon
Could you imagine if he was?
Rich
Oh, my God.
Tim Dillon
I mean, I, I, like, I don't
Luke
be hanging with us right now if he were alcoholic. So let's.
Rich
Well, his whole thing is that his family was alcoholic, so he doesn't drink.
Tim Dillon
His brother was, was one. It's like the one human thing I've ever heard him say. Basically, the one human thing.
Luke
What I think is his issue is, I mean, you guys remember the pharmacy receipt from the White House from a couple years ago? I think it was from the first term. It was, it was not like a TMZ thing, like it was on Washington Post or whatever. But the, somebody released the list of drugs that were going to the, to the White House. And, you know, you don't technically know if it's, if it's Trump or if it's Melania or if it's the aids anybody. But it was like, I want to say it was like 5000 Adderall pills and there were like 1920 line items on this pharmacy receipt and every single one of them was like in the thousands of the pills. And there was Adderall and Ambien and having some experience with ADHD medication. When I look at Trump melting down at the end of the day, falling asleep, the irritability thing, that is like all classic withdrawal from, from stimulants. And, and, and also you can't fall asleep if you take too many. And so I'm like, did he just have like a 4 o' clock meeting he needed to be dialed in for? And so he took a handful of Adderall and now he's up at 2am Withdrawing and out. Like this is probably the most plaus he's gonna have.
Rich
He's gonna have three time, he's gonna have three times yearly trips to Walter Reed for his dental and medical checkups. You see that?
Luke
Three for dental.
Rich
They're calling that, yeah, they're calling them 3X annual visits. Which like kind of, kind of defeats the purpose of the word annual.
Luke
What that is.
Tim Dillon
Why, why can't they do the dentist in the, in the White House?
Rich
I'm not sure. I'm just saying they use the word.
Tim Dillon
He has a doctor that literally is in the building 24 hours a day.
Rich
They use the word annual and then they're like, oh yeah, but he's going to go three times every year.
Luke
Three times annual. That's true. Right.
Rich
He's going at the end of the month.
Luke
That's almost quarterly again.
Tim Dillon
Oh my God. I just don't like we got two and a half more years.
Luke
Who is Walter Reed? Exactly. And how do we bribe him?
Rich
He's not fucking making it two and a half years.
Luke
Walter Reed, the guy. Because I need his phone number.
Tim Dillon
I, I, yeah, well, speaking of old people. Oh, we're going to transition.
Luke
She's even older than he is.
Tim Dillon
She is. So there is this insane story and I'm going to pull it up from North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Fox, who is 82 years old, running for reelection, by the way. And she got a letter from a constituent's 10 year old son. He was tasked in a class with writing to a quote unquote change maker about something that could help the world.
Luke
That's healthy.
Tim Dillon
So. Right.
Luke
Good thing for kids to do. There's no way this could go wrong. That's A good, like civic engagement is good. There's no way this story ends poorly. I have not heard this by the way, so I think.
Tim Dillon
Oh, you, you haven't heard the end.
Luke
I'm aware something is happening, so. No, no, let's keep going. So that's a, this is a great setup because that's a valuable experience for this kid.
Tim Dillon
So. Yes. So this kid, like, you know, you're teaching kids about civics and like the importance of participating in democracy and all this. Stu. Well, Virginia didn't like his idea, which. His Idea was a 5000$. It's rebate or tax credit for people who purchase electric vehicles because electric vehicles tend to be more expensive and so to make them more competitive with their gas cousins. Yeah, they, you, you know, you get money and it obviously because it benefits the country both from a national security and oil perspective and also from a, a climate and planet perspective. Well, Virginia Fox didn't like it at all. And the one I'm interested to read one part of this article where it says in her letter back to the 10 year old kid, Fox cited numerous articles from news organizations and criticized the boy's teacher writing, please ask your teacher to explain propaganda to you. My guess is that your teachers will not give you a good educational experience and help you learn to think as they are not too interest, as they are too interested in indoctrinating you. That's what she wrote back to a 10 year old kid.
Luke
Jesus Christ, can he spell indoctrinating? Because I think you should. She's, I don't think she's understanding that what's happening, which I mean, I just looked up. I'm, I'm surprised she understands anything that's happening right now.
Tim Dillon
So can you imagine, you imagine like you're a 10 year old kid, you know, you put yourself out there, you're like, I'm writing this thing I've never done before. And then all of a sudden it's like you check in the mailbox to see. I don't, maybe it's an email, I don't know. But like you're checking some virtual or, or IRL mailbox and you're like, oh, we got a response from our congresswoman.
Luke
That's cool.
Tim Dillon
And then you read it and it's a fucking takedown shitting on you. For a kid who's like, we should incentivize the purchase of electric vehicles. Not exactly like controversial issue.
Rich
Yeah, you know, he's doing this little bit of thing to like, you know, I really want to help My world so that when I grow up the world's a better place. And this wretch that is one foot in the grave shits on him for it. I mean, from, she'll be dead in 15 years. That kid will be 25.
Luke
15's generous.
Rich
Yeah, 15 is real generous.
Tim Dillon
And the kids could have look at
Rich
the same world and be like, well, God damn it. It's because of people like her.
Luke
I'm surprised when, when I, when I hear the story and I look at her, I'm, she seems like the kind of person who would have candy in her, her hut in the woods and she would want the 10 year old, she'd be like, hey, do you want to come? And I have graham crackers in my, in my forest house. You know Hansel and Gretel. This is a Hansel and Gretel reference. She's a caution. She's a walking cautionary.
Tim Dillon
Yeah.
Luke
By the way, this is public. The kid's name is the coolest name I've ever heard in my life. His name is Christian man, who that is. Oh yeah, that's a rad name.
Tim Dillon
So they asked his mom for comment about the letter and the one word horrific, which I think is right, like very Val.
Rich
Yes, very fair.
Tim Dillon
I mean, look like if I was a member of Congress and I got a letter from a 10 year old kid from a maga family, I wouldn't write back. Your parents are indoctrinating you. You're following the biggest scam art. You would just be like, dear kid, thank you so much for writing your letter. I will like take this into consideration. All the best.
Luke
Yeah, right.
Tim Dillon
Why are you, why are you on a 10 year old? Like, what?
Luke
So I, I, I found some of the excerpts now that I'm, now that I know what's happening here. He said just because like when you, when you hear how kids communicate, the idea of responding, it's not just the topic. The idea of responding to a kid who you know, can't pronounce like basic words, like, it's so adorable and endearing that how do you respond to that with, how do you choose violence? He said they're better than normal cars, they're better for the environment, they pay less and there's no gas. Kristen told the outlet, help fight climate change. Maybe there is still a chance for 6.5 million people to not die anymore and for the weather to get better and maybe, just maybe, glaciers stop melting that. I mean, this is the kids.
Rich
This is the most idealistic cute shit ever.
Luke
It's adorable. And I want to hug him for caring because right now caring is a scarce commodity. And this kid cares. And the great thing is a response like that, he's going to remember that she already forgot what happened. I guarantee she already forgot what happened. She's moved on with her life. But he's going to remember this for the rest of his life. And he's going to think maybe I should be in that job because she clearly is capable of doing it.
Tim Dillon
I hope so.
Luke
So, Christian Mango, keep your keep your eyes out for but it's just like campaign announcement again.
Tim Dillon
I reference this all the time. Adam Sir, 2017 description of Maga the cruelty is the point.
Senator Mark Kelly
Always.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, always.
Rich
Always.
Tim Dillon
It's like even if it's a 10 year old kid, this is the family values party, by the way, guys.
Luke
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
So called family values.
Luke
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
But it's just like I don't. So anyways, Christian, if you ever want to. If you're listening, 10, I don't think we have a huge 10 year old demographic. We'd love for you to come on and talk about your plans because you already sound more intelligent than half the members of Congress at 10 years old.
Luke
So we're streaming this on YouTube kids, right?
Rich
Oh yeah. I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get U.S. agency.
Tim Dillon
I think we've, I think we had some F bombs, haven't we already?
Rich
Yeah, maybe a few.
Tim Dillon
I don't know if calling a person of wretch might get us flagged on
Rich
Rich is not a curse word.
Luke
Yeah, I think Rush is nice for kids. Maybe not. I don't know. Yeah, no, I have no idea.
Rich
I don't think.
Tim Dillon
I haven't read the terms and conditions of YouTube Kids. So I don't know.
Luke
Speaking of Christians.
Tim Dillon
Oh, we got all kinds of good transitions today.
Luke
I mean, that one fell right in my lap like a ripe mango. That was too far. I'm sorry. Yeah, terrible.
Tim Dillon
Let's cut that out.
Luke
Did you guys hear, did you guys hear about this nine hour National Day of PR prayer? That. No, that maga.
Rich
It doesn't sound very separation of church and state, though.
Luke
There is no separation of church and state. It's so White House to host nine hour prayer festival focused on Christian roots of the US and this is coming up on Sunday. So make sure that you're not in Washington D.C. on Sunday or they're going to convert you.
Rich
There's going to be a ginormous lightning strike. If it was, if, if this whole thing was real, all these would get Zapped.
Senator Mark Kelly
Prove it.
Tim Dillon
I mean, it is out in the open, right? I mean, not a lot of tall
Luke
trees around there, but everything is out in the open with these people. Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, Mike Johnson speaking at the event. And it's called rededicate 250 because they are. They believe that this, this 250 year birthday for the United States is an excuse to rededicate the United States to its. Its foundation as a Christian nation. And Paula White Cane, you know, the idiot who talks to the idiots about the idiot stuff. She said the event is about the history and the foundations of our nation, which was built on Christian values, on the Bible. This is really, truly rededicating the country to God. Capital G. God. Not just like a God. And they specifically said. And then. I'll shut up. They specifically said something about how this is not going to include speakers who pray to all of those other gods.
Rich
Oh, my God.
Luke
Okay. Yeah. White Kane assured those in the audience that the jubilee would not include leaders, quote, praying to all these different gods, end quote.
Rich
This place.
Luke
You think she has a place for atheists in the speaker?
Rich
Yeah, right.
Tim Dillon
Should we be like, Oh, man, where
Luke
do you start with this?
Tim Dillon
I don't.
Luke
150 angles. I'm paralyzed.
Rich
I mean, it's.
Tim Dillon
I. I don't. I don't even know. I'm actually surprised that Paula. What is it? Paula White Kane? Is that her name? She's actually married to a rock star, which I would have thought that rock.
Rich
Yeah, you played rock music in reverse. Right.
Tim Dillon
Jonathan Kane, I think is his name is the keyboardist in Journey.
Senator Mark Kelly
So.
Tim Dillon
I thought rock music was. Yeah, rock music was satanical. Right.
Luke
Nobody laughs.
Tim Dillon
That's what I thought.
Luke
I mean, like, even. Who is the. What's her name from? No Doubt, like, Gwen Stefani is Maggie.
Tim Dillon
Yeah. What's that all about?
Luke
If you wait long enough, it comes for everybody. Stupidity.
Rich
Haley Williams is not letting me down.
Luke
No, Haley Williams won't let us down. No, but she's still young. Like, damn it, she's gonna be 80. And she's gonna be like, we should bring MAGA back again.
Rich
I don't think so.
Luke
She's gonna pull a Virginia Fox.
Tim Dillon
Oh, God, no. It's all the people who have, like, lost their, like, a list status.
Rich
Well, yeah, it's the right wing grift. Right. As soon as they realize they can't cut it anymore, they're like, okay, I'll just go talk to the dumbest and the poorest and they'll convince. As long as I Say something semi racist or bigoted or say, it's okay that they say racist, bigoted. They'll love me forever.
Luke
Right. They finish fifth in a swimming meet and they're like, well, I guess I'm gonna be MAGA for the rest of my life.
Rich
Exactly.
Luke
The thing that. So to be real on this, though, I was thinking through it this morning, like, okay, I'm going to have to cover this in a video, but what's, what's the angle? Because just like, America is not a Christian nation. Like, okay, we've all said that. They say, yes, it is. The thing that is striking to me is, let's get ready.
Rich
We're going to steal Rich's idea.
Luke
Let's assume you can you guys cover this. Let's assume that all of the founders were deeply, deeply religious, Protestant Christian people, which is what they're all saying. That only makes the argument even more powerful that they didn't include any of that in any of our founding documents.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Luke
The only reference is you can't make it a national thing and you can't use it. If you actually read into the, into the Constitution, there's an article that says you cannot use religion as a litmus test for holding public office. So they don't even. They didn't even say Christianity or they just said religion. You can't even require somebody be religious, let alone Christian or Protestant. Like. And the amount of restraint is only. It only increases that they used. If they were religious. And it turned. In reality, none of those people were super religious because it turns out they were running away from religious persecution.
Tim Dillon
Right.
Rich
They're like, well, they, they wrote. They, they wrote the Pledge of Allegiance. And it's like, no, they didn't.
Tim Dillon
No.
Luke
Dwight Eisenhower's administration added the.
Tim Dillon
Oh, they added that. They added the under God.
Luke
They added in 1953.
Tim Dillon
Yeah.
Rich
And the Pledge of Allegiance. Pledge. Allegiance wasn't even written until 1890.
Luke
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
George, George, George.
Rich
By a Baptist minister.
Luke
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
No, not. None of the George Washington. None of them. None of them. Well, but I do want.
Luke
You read the Pledge of Allegiance without under God. It's like, oh, that's just a nice. That's just a pleasing secular statement about what the United States is trying to. It's actually remarkably in line with the founders.
Tim Dillon
So I do want to say that not all old musicians will turn maga because there's actually. I don't know if you. I, I saw this yesterday. So King Charles was in the United States last week and met with. He addressed Congress. He met the President Yada, yada, yada. He's back in the UK now, and apparently he was at an event, the King's Trust event, which I think is a big charity thing for cancer research or something. And he meets Rob Stewart, who I'm sure he's met before. Well, Rod's face is. You could see. And I don't know if they heard him or if they read his. Read his lips, but when he met Prince Charles or King Charles, he. He praised King Charles for, quote, or for putting, quote, that little rat bag in his place, referring to Donald Trump as a rat bag. So that they don't all. They're not all gonna flip. But I thought that was. I mean, Rod Stewart's got to be about 600 years old, so, like, he's on the. The old end. But I thought that was pretty funny to refer. I've never heard anybody called a rat bag.
Rich
That's a new one for me, too. I might have to toss that one in a video.
Luke
Well, you can see with the hantavirus stuff I use.
Rich
No, you know, maga's. MAGA is they're immune to hantavirus because they all got rat faces.
Luke
They're all.
Tim Dillon
I thought you were gonna say that. I. I thought you're gonna say Ivermectin. No, was keeping. I think that's like a. I mean,
Rich
they've been injecting that since, like 2020 now.
Tim Dillon
Just like, do they inject it or is it. I thought it was a cream. Is it a jet? Is it a jacket?
Rich
It's both.
Luke
I mean, you can. I mean, RFK snorted it off of a bath, bathroom, toilet seat. So you can really take it any way that you want.
Tim Dillon
Do you see that he is trying to reduce the age limits on tanning beds?
Rich
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
Who could go tanning beds?
Rich
Those things that give you fucking terrible. Fuck you cancer.
Tim Dillon
Straight up cancer. And he's like, trying to weaken, like. Well, how is that, Maha?
Rich
Tim, did you read about the Amazon for guns that these pricks want?
Tim Dillon
Oh, I thought they already had that.
Rich
No, they want. I mean, they want to literally never have to step foot in a gun store to buy a gun. They want them people to be able to buy them online and have them
Tim Dillon
shipped to their door. Oh, so it's not even a. Like that. You have to, like, get it picked up somewhere. You just, like, literally comes to your door.
Luke
What could go wrong?
Tim Dillon
That. What could possibly go wrong?
Rich
What could possibly go wrong?
Tim Dillon
Because, you know, packages don't get stolen from people off the front.
Luke
You know what they would do is they would have guns shipped to their targets houses and then just pick them up off the porch and then just start shooting people who are inside.
Rich
Wait, no, no. So, like, does that mean that the UPS guy, he has to have a gun too? Because, like, then he can defend the other guns from the people who want the guns. And so, like, he has to be more safe. Right?
Luke
He has to be good. He has to be a good guy, though.
Rich
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
All the.
Rich
Never times that the good, good guy with a gun has done.
Tim Dillon
But then does that mean that every citizen that needs to have a gun to protect against the guy getting attacked by the UPS guy getting attacked by the UN like, pretty sure there's already
Rich
more guns in this country than there are citizens.
Tim Dillon
There are. There are way more. And.
Luke
But you imagine, like, aren't there like a billion guns? Like, it's like. It's like.
Tim Dillon
It's hundreds of. It's hundreds of. It's definitely in the middle or upper Hunt because a lot of people collect them and stuff, right? So those people have like 20, 30, but
Luke
could you imagine 4 to 5 million in circulation? In circulation? Yeah.
Tim Dillon
Criminals. Then you imagine, like, basically everything is just going to get robbed. Right. They're just going to get held up. Like, it's just not, like, difficult to play this out. Who wants this? Is this an IRA thing?
Rich
It's a Trump administration thing. Because he wants to be. It could be because good old Eric is on the board of this company that wants.
Luke
There it is, dude.
Tim Dillon
The griff is so, like. It's always the Griff. Yeah, Jones.
Rich
Except this grift could fucking kill people.
Luke
I mean. Yeah, it's just really how quickly you die from the grift is the. Because everybody dies from Trump's grifts. It's just some of them take longer, like climate change. But like Iran. I mean, that whole thing's a grift you guys have. I mean, Kushner has made what, like he's a billionaire now. He's made billions of dollars negotiating deals in the Middle East. And I've read many stories, especially recently, about Kushner's relationship with the Saudis, Kushner's relationship with. With people in the Israeli government. And the. I think the most recent one I saw was that Kushner was the person who talked Trump into attacking Iran against. Against the advice of everybody else. Kushner said, no, no, no. All the people in the Mid east, like, if we take out, you know, the Supreme Leader and all the people in the Middle east, they'll then they'll help us and then we can, you know, have, have little Dubais everywhere and they'll all make us tons of money.
Tim Dillon
Well, it is telling that both the Saudis and the Israelis were the ones that wanted this the most and they are the ones that have enriched the Trump family the most. So, you know, you take $2 billion from somebody, they, it's not for free. Like that comes with strings. Yep. And they pulled a big one on this and you know, it sounded like there's reports that Netanyahu's been trying to get Trump to do this for like a year. Yeah, like that. They've been working on this and now we're fucked because of Benjamin Netanyahu and mbs, the fucking Prince of Saudi Arabia who hacksawed an American journalist to pieces with no ramifications whatsoever. They're the ones telling our President what to do. Yay.
Luke
Guys, this is delightful.
Tim Dillon
So we have something. Can we wrap on something good?
Rich
Yeah.
Tim Dillon
We have anything good? Oh, I got something. I got something. So you know how everybody said, sorry, I'm, I'm a little fired up about this one. This morning everyone said that Zor Mmdani was going to be a communist. Bring a communist hellscape, Hellscape to New York City and bring Sharia law and everybody. I would have, you know, like we would all have to be doing our morning and evening prayers.
Rich
Yep.
Tim Dillon
Praising Allah.
Rich
Yeah. Yeah.
Tim Dillon
You know what he just did? He balanced the budget. They were at a 12 billion dollar hole. He balanced it.
Luke
It's impossible. You can't balance budgets.
Rich
No, those don't budget. Yeah, budgets don't balance. They're supposed to be in the red every.
Tim Dillon
I keep being told all he's just a tax and spend liberal. And also by balancing the budget, we're getting two year olds get free, free child care for two year olds. He's filled like 9,000 potholes. And basically what, you know what he did, he basically did what Doge said they were going to do. They went in and they did an audit across the government, which is what people should do. They found contracts with these like high priced consultants. I think it was like, I don't remember who it was, but it's a bit. One of the big ones cut them. You know, they worked a deal with the state, which was definitely part of it because the city does provide the most tax revenue to the state. So all these people are like, oh, they got, they got money from the states. Like, yeah, it mostly comes from us anyways. Sort of like blue States pay more into the federal government than red states always. So like you know. Yes, he did get that. But I keep being told that liberals don't know how to govern and this guy who's a basic is a Democratic socialist seems to be doing a pretty good job. So that's the good news today.
Luke
I mean this doesn't surprise anybody who pays attention to these things. And yet it's still insanely frustrating because everyone's like Democratic social like they're tax and spend liberals. The only Democrat, the only president who's balanced the federal budget in the last ever 50 years, 60 years, 70 years since debt became a thing was Bill Clinton.
Tim Dillon
Yep.
Rich
Yep.
Luke
And a Democrat.
Rich
And yet it was gone.
Luke
And then it was gone. Republicans are worse.
Rich
What do you think? What do you think? Can I go my whole life without it ever being balanced? Because I'm pretty sure I will.
Luke
Oh yeah. At this point we're running like $3 trillion deficits.
Tim Dillon
We're about 39 trillion in debt. Right.
Luke
40 something like that is one thing. But just, just deficit, just having no deficit that would require like2.2 to 3 trillion in in cuts in one year
Tim Dillon
or, or increases or 2 to 3
Luke
trillion increase in in revenue with no new spending.
Tim Dillon
I don't. So. So Luke, you, you could theoretically have 80 years left on this earth. You could with advances in healthcare and all this.
Rich
I've been living pretty long, but yeah, I could.
Tim Dillon
No, but you'd be slightly over a hundred. Like I don'. Healthy guy. I don't think we could run another 80 years of deficits and I think the market eventually would would. It would be a problem. Yeah, like I don't think, I don't think you can. I. I don't think you can do it forever. So that's the one reason. Will it be paid off? No, but I. No there there is a. Democrats don't just keep borrowing more money there There is going to come a time when that's going to have to happen. I would prefer it with raising taxes on wealthy Americans now to start fixing that rather than what the UK did with Brexit which was basically light themselves on fire in the. In the name of redu. Like getting back to a balanced budget and it destroy. It has destroyed the. I mean they are a mess. Like we're bad but like their economic situation is a nightmare and a lot of it was self inflicted and in all the name of austerity. That was their big term austerity Austerity which just means taking things from a
Luke
lot of a Lot of, A lot of countries tried to do that through the Great Recession and. And then again during COVID and it just ends poorly every time.
Tim Dillon
Greece also had like a guaranteed pension and retirement.
Luke
Greece was a little different. Yeah. So I mean, I want.
Tim Dillon
That sounds great, I want that. But like, I mean, that was like
Luke
five years ago for you, right?
Senator Mark Kelly
Oh, man.
Luke
In your 50s.
Tim Dillon
No, Tim would be retired enough catching bows. Jeez, I have.
Luke
Tim's speechless. I have one more piece of good news. It's not good news. Good news. It's just like, funny. Yesterday I just was thinking, like, would AI be a Democrat, Republican? And so I sat down with my favorite Grok to make sure I got an unbiased take. And I said, if you consider. This is my prompt. If you consider job creation, economic growth, and this relates to the deficit and all that economic growth, expansion of human rights and working class economic growth is the most important metrics. If you were an adult voter in the United States, which party would you support? And it starts with saying, I wouldn't support either major party outright. It's not a team sport, yada yada. And then it goes on to say, under all of these metrics you defined, the historical record shows a stronger average performance under Democratic administrations on these indicators. And then it goes into economic growth and job creation, GDP growth stronger under Democrats, job creation substantially higher under Democrats, working class economic growth, income and wage growth for lower middle percentiles under stronger under Democrats, broader inequality reduction, expansion of human rights, of course, civil rights, later expansions. And then it goes on to say, well, this isn't causal. This like this, this could just be a coincidence. And so I kept pushing. I was like, well, but if one team is better at winning, then that's the team I want to be on. And then it goes on to basically say, like, yeah, you kind of write about all of this stuff, but like, we should listen to both sides.
Tim Dillon
Both sides did after that.
Luke
Both sides to me. So I had like five different prompts just to really get super clear. And it would never join the Democratic Party. But every single thing, the best thing it could give that Grok gave to Republicans was sometimes Grok or sometimes Republican deregulation has short term upside that is then more than offset by long term downside. And that's the whole thing. So this is the best that Elon Musk's AI Baby can come up with is Jesus Christ.
Tim Dillon
Well, it used to be he changed it.
Rich
I mean, it literally used to call itself Mecca Hitler. So I think we're moving a Little bit towards the right thing.
Tim Dillon
So anyway, that was fun. Well, I like that.
Luke
I like a liberal bias. Right? I mean, that's what we always do.
Tim Dillon
It's so true. I mean, I'm like. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I talk to a MAGA person, I'm like, no, these are the numbers. What I don't understand. It's just like.
Luke
Where'd you get those? Donald Trump's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Luke
You're your government.
Tim Dillon
An office within your government that he fired the person he didn't like in the job and put two other people in it.
Luke
So Trump skies run by loyalists. And. And. And you're like, you're. The data's cooked, probably, but not in our direction.
Tim Dillon
Oh, from the deep state. I'm like, you are the deep state. What are you talking about?
Luke
You're the whole deep state.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, well, they released the alien stuff this week. No one even paid attention to. You see that? Yeah.
Rich
It's like Alien versus Predator. Now.
Luke
Add it to my list.
Tim Dillon
Yeah. Though I did see one photo that someone posted, and people were like, that's the ship from Prometheus. That is. That is not. That is not from the finals. And it's like a. And it's like a 3/4 of a circle. It, like, looks. It's the exact same thing. And people were, like, losing their minds until somebody was like, that was in a Ridley Scott movie.
Luke
If you sat down with Trump. I mean, you remember the knuckle tattoo that somebody photoshopped on the MS.13, and it was like, it wasn't even Photoshop. It was like Ms. Paint. Like, yeah, it was really bad.
Tim Dillon
It looks like I did it.
Luke
It was times New Roman, like, typed across the screen. Could you imagine now with the AI videos and AI images? I mean, obviously he's posting them. He's not creating them. Somebody else is creating them. And then he just is like, oh, I like being Jesus. Here you go. Could you imagine how easy it would be now to sit down with Trump on a phone and just show him stuff and just, oh, my God, you
Rich
could convince him of anything.
Luke
You could.
Rich
Anything.
Tim Dillon
Him and that guy Dan Scavino, like, just, like, going on to, like, mind. What is it? Mind mid journey. Mid journey or one of these things? And, like, he's like, what do you want to be, Trump? He's like, I want to be the greatest man in the world and type it in. And, like, hopefully, you know, I would love, like, Barack Obama's photo shows up. He's like, wait, wait, Anyways. But that's funny.
Luke
That's a black.
Tim Dillon
Oh, he wouldn't like that at all. That's. That's probably the way he would lose supporters.
Luke
Well, that if it makes. He might evict himself from the White House. So let's not rule this out.
Senator Mark Kelly
Oh, man.
Tim Dillon
Get that, Nick. Get a deep cut. It's a real one. It's a real one that a Republican sued him over in the 70s. Richard Nixon, who used to be the most corrupt president. Not anymore, dude.
Luke
Watergate was like toddler shenanigans.
Tim Dillon
Oh, child's play.
Luke
It's when.
Tim Dillon
Oh, he did a little light. Light robbery, right? He.
Luke
He put a microphone in a hotel. Oh, no. This changes everything.
Tim Dillon
Little B and E, that's like. How about siphoning billions of dollars, you chumps? Welcome to the. There's that video of. Of Will Ferrell in that movie where he's like a politician against Zach Alifianakis. And they're debating, and he looks. He turns to him, he goes, welcome to the show. And it's like that. It's like Trump's like telling Richard Nixon, he's like, oh, you think you've done some crimes? Oh, man, do I have a laundry list for you, Richard Nixon.
Luke
I'm not a crook. And Donald Trump is like, I am a crook, but I'm not actually a crook because it should be legal, because I'm God. Richard Nixon's like, I never thought I'd take, like, playing that card. That's just a genius.
Tim Dillon
Yeah, the total immunity thing, too, you know? Well, this has been fun. It feels like six years ago that Mark Kelly was on this episode.
Luke
It does.
Rich
Yep.
Tim Dillon
He was great. He was great. We did bash the media earlier, so if you agree with us, you should join us on our own social media app at Find Out Social. We just made some updates, cleaned up the feed a little bit. It's a little easier to read through. Almost 4, 000 people in there at this point. You can come in there. As long as you behave yourself and be a rational human being, you will be fine. You can post links, you can promote whatever. You will not be downranked. And we're trying to build a little community to make sure you guys can all get access to our shows without having to fight through an algorithm. And also just engage with people and also have a space that a billionaire can't control, because no billionaire can control our app. So you can find it on the Apple and the Google Play stores by searching. Find Out Social. Don't don't write. Find out podcast. It won't come up. Find out Social.
Luke
My favorite thing about. About this is when the. When the MAGA rights all freak out and they're like, I thought you guys were all about tolerance and open mindedness. Nope. If you come on and you start saying some hateful shit, you get banned immediately.
Tim Dillon
Actually, yes, we are. And that doesn't fall under that description. Yeah, I just don't hate speech. No violence.
Luke
I will cancel your racism. Like, no, you don't get the platform. You can do it. And we're not. You're not going to get arrested. We're just not going to amplify it for you. Sorry.
Tim Dillon
Right. You're going to get nothing or you're going to get banned. And if you want to go do that, go to True Social. And there's so many places.
Luke
Glee. We don't have any right now.
Tim Dillon
We're the only ones. So, like, it's small right now because we don't have billionaires backing us with giant advertising campaigns. But you know, I. Luke, you said at the last episode, I think like, even if we had 10,000 people in there, we have complete access to them.
Rich
Yep.
Senator Mark Kelly
And.
Tim Dillon
And them to us, which is way better than having 100,000 on TikTok, which is what I have. And I get like 500 views on a video now because they took the algorithm and they went and like throttled it down last year. So we have a. I almost said a safe space. I guess it is a safe space. I don't give a. It's a safe space. Come with us.
Luke
Not for maggots.
Tim Dillon
No, no, I don't. They wouldn't enjoy it in there. But anyways, do that also, please, you know, make sure you sign up for our daily newsletter@findout media.substack.com we have 35000 of you in that. Thank you. And that's where we put all of our shows too. And things that we like and see that are happening. We want to make sure you get that. So with that, this is Thursday's episode. So we hope you have a lovely weekend this weekend. Hopefully Trump does not threaten another genocide or any stupid God will, whatever. And you can enjoy your weekend and we will be back with you on Tuesday. Bye, everybody.

Host: Tim Dillon (Find Out Media), with Luke and Rich
Special Guest: Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ)
This episode centers on Senator Mark Kelly’s escalating feud with Trump administration’s Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, specifically over accusations that Kelly leaked classified information and his ongoing lawsuit to protect retired veterans’ First Amendment rights. The Find Out team discusses the wider implications of Trump’s second-term administration: from foreign policy blunders in Iran to a general erosion of democratic norms, and the real, at-times absurd, consequences of MAGA governance. The discussion maintains its irreverent, sarcastic tone throughout, skewering current events with humor and honest conviction.
[01:14] Tim Dillon & Sen. Mark Kelly
"No, I quoted him. Not classified."
"In an open hearing, we were talking about the number of munitions we use... Hegseth, you know, running around: 10,000 targets, set a new record, now 15,000... He said it would take years to replenish these munitions. So the thing with him is he doesn't want to be held accountable for his actions. 15,000 targets. What did we get out of this?"
[03:25] Tim Dillon & Sen. Mark Kelly
"That's what happens when you go to war without a strategic goal and without a plan and without any kind of a timeline and without thinking about what's the exit strategy. What do we want to accomplish? ...Initially, they said, well, if we bomb them in three days, there’ll be regime change... When that didn’t happen... it became about the ballistic missiles... at one point we were told, well, there’s an imminent threat that something’s going to happen in the future. Like, what is, how ridiculous is that?"
[02:39] Sen. Mark Kelly
[07:30] Notable Quote – Sen. Mark Kelly on Pete Hegseth:
"Sometimes I think Pete Hegseth is doing an impersonation of Colin Jost impersonating Pete Hegseth."
[07:30]
[09:14] Sen. Mark Kelly
"If former members of the military, retired service members, want to be able to say what they think, they should just give up their retirement, give up their pension, give up their health care, then they could say what they want…How nuts is that?... Not on my watch." ([09:14]-[10:47])
[13:35] Sen. Mark Kelly
"We're a country of laws. Right. We have to respect the law. There needs to be investigations...people need to be held accountable."
On administration priorities:
"These aren’t serious people. I mean, the President doesn’t spend enough time trying to understand what the problem is. He doesn’t listen to people around him. And Hegseth is just trying to perform for his boss. That’s pretty obvious."
— Sen. Mark Kelly, [06:28]
On military/veteran speech rights:
"The people who have given the most to this country...become second class citizens under this administration."
— Sen. Mark Kelly, [09:51]
On pro-military and pro-police hypocrisy:
"Cops were beaten up here on Capitol Hill. And he pardons these people that were in jail for assaulting police officers...What’s more insulting than calling dead service members suckers and losers?"
— Sen. Mark Kelly, [12:10]
On Trump’s lack of loyalty:
"It never pays to be loyal to him because eventually you will do something...”
— Tim Dillon, [11:34]
