I'm dana farino along with emily campagno, richard fowler, charlie hurt and tyrus. It's five o' clock in new york city and this is the fox. News alert. DNA results could be coming in at any moment in week three of the search for Nancy Guthrie. The FBI has been testing a glove recovered about two miles from Nancy's home, which they think looks very similar to the gloves of the suspect you're seeing on your screen. Want to go to Alicia Cunha? She is on the ground in Tucson with an update. Hi, Alicia. Good morning. Afternoon. I saw you this morning, too.
C
I did talk to you this morning. Yes. Good afternoon, Dana. The Pima county sheriff has now officially eliminated members of the Guthrie family as suspects. They released a statement, it reads entirely, quote, to be clear, the Guthrie family, to include all siblings and spouses, has been cleared as possible suspects in this case. The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case. To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims, plain and simple. Please, I'm begging you, the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism. Fox News reached out for more clarification over whether DNA helped clear of the family. The sheriff tells Matt Finn, quote, I'm not going to go there. They are all victims and I will not stand quiet when they are re victimized. Today the sheriff's department confirmed the clothing worn by the suspect in these images may have been purchased at Walmart. They say it remains a possibility. Only you'll recall last week the FBI said it believes the backpack worn by the suspect is a Walmart brand Ozark trail hiker pack. And we are also awaiting word from the FBI on whether DNA testing on a glove found two miles from Nancy Guthrie's house match is the DNA found inside her home. All this as Savannah Guthrie makes another appeal. To whoever did this, I wanted to.
D
Say.
E
To whoever has her or knows.
B
Where she is.
E
That.
B
It'S never too.
D
Late.
E
And you're not lost or alone.
B
And it is never too late to.
E
Do the right thing.
C
In a call with the New York Post, the president threatened if Nancy Guthrie is not found alive, he would want the Justice Department to seek the death penalty against whoever is convicted. Dana Arizona is a death penalty state, so that could be on the table either way. However, we hope this is not a homicide case. Dana.
B
Absolutely. Alicia, thank you so much. And Emily, if we go to you. So since I was on this morning, then you were on at noon, and now here we are. It's like every few hours you get a little bit more of a tidbit of information. Alicia said that she had gone back to them asking was it the DNA that ruled out the family. He says he's not going to comment, but what do you think?
E
I thought it was an interesting and seemingly premature statement for the sheriff to make. I'm surprised that either at the outset he didn't say, please respect the family, who are all victims in this, and respect the investigation while we pursue all leads. I think now it seems as if he's making that point in the absence, however, of any kind of identification of who the actual abductor was. So here we're sitting with the same dearth of information, but all of a sudden we know significantly if this were true, that the families ruled out, that is a major conclusion to make. So if that is indeed true, it means that they're either they either know a lot more that they haven't shared with us, that is who the perp is, or it's just a PR execution on their part. I will say that just briefly, for the DNA points that many are making and including the investigators who are saying we're trying all avenues with DNA, just remember that the default after the Golden State Killer in 2018, after that was used, the default was switched on these ancestry websites to not share your DNA with law enforcement. So people, I think, optimistically, think that there's a huge chance that someone's DNA, genetically or genealogy, genealogically will be used, will be able to pursue a match. Overnight, it went from millions of profiles to thousands. So it's incumbent, if you believe in solving cold cases and new cases and coming to terms with the privacy issues surrounding these very narrowly tailored DNA acquisition attempts, then please toggle off or toggle on whatever it's called so that you can be a part of it, because this is an uphill battle for these investigators.
B
The sheriff hasn't done a press conference in A few days. But he did issue this statement today. Tyrus.
D
Yeah. The frustrating thing is not as we don't really get to focus so much on what's going on with the victim in this. It seems like we have been covering a story within a story. And it's. With all due respect, the unprofessional divide between the FBI and the sheriff's department. And I think today is the biggest glooming example of that. Why wasn't there a joint statement with the FBI and the sheriff? Because this is a pretty big deal to rule out the family. I also have some issues with the verbiage. And words matter. And I know we've gotten. We've gone through this period where everyone just says things, but if the sheriffs say he would at this time, they are not people of interest. I think everyone's okay with that. But it was such a personal. Like he was protecting them, not just from the media. And you always have to read in between the lines. It almost was almost a shot, I felt, to the FBI as well. So I think the verbiage, the sheriff is just. I think the frustrating thing is both sides want the same result. They want this woman home. They want her safe. And I'm not saying that no one's not doing their job, but the back and forth and that very personal statement is troubling.
B
But maybe if they can rule out some possible suspects, that at least narrows the focus. Or does it widen it?
A
Yeah, well, you would think that if they are using DNA to rule out family members, then they must have a really good DNA profile that they're able to use. And obviously, whether or not that person. I guess it'll probably depend more upon whether or not that person has a criminal record and so that their DNA is in there to begin with. But I think all of it, the fact that it's taken. We're in our third week now before they eliminate the family. I think probably it kind of goes to the heart of just how baffling the case is. I mean, whether this was, you know, some sort of robbery gone wrong. If it was, why would you take the person or a body with you? What was in the backpack when you. When you're going into the residence. There are just so many baffling questions about all of it, which I think is both what makes it so difficult, but also probably what generates this level of interest in it and why you have a lot of. Apparently a lot of really nasty, gross people trying to capitalize off of it with. And my belief that the letters are.
B
Probably for the ransom.
A
Yeah, yeah. That they're just, they're, they've seen an opportunity and they're trying to take advantage of it.
B
And I think that has been something that is interesting to watch over these past three weeks. So Savannah has kept people updated to the extent that she can. And she's not appealing to the kidnappers in the latest video last night she was, it seemed like she was appealing just to the person or the persons who are saying it's not too late to do the right thing.
F
I think that's right. And I really struggled with preparing for this topic because I think as a member of the media, we often get caught up in the mechanics of the investigation because that's what we're trained to do. And sometimes we forget to sit with the reality that there is an 84 year old woman missing. She's a mother, she's a grandmother. And this family has to wake up with not knowing whether it's good news or it's bad news. Every day for the past couple of.
B
Weeks, they're not sleeping at all.
F
Yes, exactly. They're like, well, we just don't know. And as somebody who has both my parents alive and I watch them age every day, think about their vulnerability, I can't but think, I can't think of how I would be in this situation. So right now my heart goes out to the Guthrie family because this cannot be easy. I've met Savannah. She's somebody who's part of the Washington press corps for a long time. So she's been around Washington and just to see the terror and the fear in her face as she's trying to find her mother, it's heartbreaking. And so I think sometimes, to your point, Charlie, like to separate our job as journalists versus there's a human element to that and the human element is so, so, so real case more than.
B
Any other and a huge amount of interest in it because of who it is. Yeah. Not only just who it is, but also to think like who would take an 84 year old woman and people.
A
Who care who genuinely.
B
Yes, very much. All right, well, we will move on to the next topic and bring you any news on the Savannah Guthrie update as we have it. Coming up next, Obama, well, he's back attacking Democrats and casually dropping that aliens may be real loving you is standing.

He's back. Or Barack. Former President Obama hopping on a liberal podcast to throw some shade at the very party he helped wreck. Taking a not so subtle swipe at Gavin Newsom's disastrous handling of homelessness in California.
A
We should also recognize that the average person, you know, doesn't want to have to navigate around a tent city in the middle of the downtown. That's a losing political strategy, morally, ethically speaking. It is an atrocity that in a country this wealthy, we have people just on the streets.
E
Oh, and Professor Obama was just getting started with these critiques.
A
I think there was a certain way of talking about issues for Democrats where we sounded like scolds. There is a element of at some point you age out, you're not connected directly to the immediate struggles that folks are going through.
E
But then he completely overshadowed everything he said by confirming that aliens are real. Sort of.
A
Are aliens real? They're real, but I haven't seen them. And they're not being kept in, what is it, Area 50? Area 51. There's no underground facility unless there's this enormous conspiracy and they. They hid it from the President of the United States.
E
Yeah, plausible deniability. Obama walking that one. Back on Instagram, however, saying this quote, I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really? All right, Tyrus, what do you think about all that he said on there?
D
You know what? This is the Obama that I originally voted for back in the day. This is the guy. Just tell it like it is. It's not his party anymore. He doesn't want to play anymore. They're doing weird stuff. He's calling it out. And you know what? Good for him. Nice to see him be the adult in the room a little bit, because everything he said is true. And the thing with the alien, and this is what's wrong with media, this isn't a story. It was a speed round. We do Speed rounds on here. Does anyone, is anyone allowed to give an elongated, eloquent answer? It's usually yes or no. And there's a little guy in your ear going, rap, rap. So they're doing. He just in my ear said rap. They're doing all the screaming and yelling over this. Any educated, any person who looks up and sees stars will say, hmm, I think there might be life out there. So I don't think that was a big issue. And everyone's freaking out about it. And then, of course, he thought about it. His people got to him. And then he gave a ridiculous reason why I wouldn't vote for him now. Because they were really. And we haven't seen Bro, we all watch Skinwalker Ranch, okay? We all see the Globes. The pilot who risked his career to talk about what he said on the air, like, come on, man, you was there. And then somebody got to him. I suspect perhaps the wife, Dana, you.
F
Thought part of that was interesting.
E
Tell us why.
B
Well, one of the things that he was saying is that he says he's past his prime. He's not going to run again for anything. There's not interested in running again. And he kept saying that the Democrats need to think about younger people. Well, so he's 64. He's only three years older than Kamala Harris and six years older than Gavin Newsom. What's interesting to me is if Obama says he's past his prime, then are we talking about like a much younger Democrat that needs to emerge in 2028? The other thing that he did is talked about homelessness and quality of life issues, not only for the people who are homeless, but those people who have to live around it. And I thought that was a little bit of a shot at Gavin Newsom. Maybe a little bit. But homeless is not necessarily contained to California, but huge problems, of course, in that city. The other thing about what he did is that I think he kind of helped save a lot of 2028 Democrats this weekend. Even though we are going to talk about the Munich conference in a couple blocks from now, when Obama talks or when any former president talks, it's going to blot out the sun. And that is going to be the topic, which I would, if I were AOC or Gretchen Whitmer or Gavin Newsom, I'd be relieved that Obama talked this weekend.
E
Well, all right. So carrying that further, though, he is very intentional with what he says and he knows that what he says carries weight. So indeed, was it a dig at Gavin Newsom about homelessness? Because I haven't heard him really talk about it until now. And that issue has been raging and festering.
A
Well, yeah. And going to Tyrus point, if this is sort of the cool guy coming back, where was he? Where has he been? Where was he when it could have made a difference, when cities were burning down around the country? It might have actually been helpful. I agree with you, Dana. I did sort of hear maybe sort of a quasi wink at AOC talking about age. She's the only one that would sort of really make the cut after that. I find it really annoying because, you know, Obama presented himself as he was going to be this new kind of politician. It turned out that when he got actually into office, what he turned into was a free stuff guy, which is the oldest stuff in the book. And then real lecturesome and. But he was really good at this cool stuff and it worked and it worked great for him. The problem is it didn't work very well for his party. You had 1,000 Democrats in the course of his eight years in office.
F
Who.
A
Lost their elections largely because of the weight that he was on the party. And then of course, you look at this week, last couple of weeks, you know, his, you know, he promised to fix health care. Healthcare is a bigger disaster than, I mean, not that it was in great shakes when he passed Obamacare, but it, but it isn't any better now. It is a rolling, hot, rolling disaster. And then you have last week where you have the Trump administration completely reverse what I would argue is the greatest power grab government power grab in government history. The idea that somehow federal bureaucrats are allowed to regulate what we exhale, carbon dioxide. Suddenly the government gets to regulate that. And the Trump administration, with the help from the Supreme Court, that said this is insane, comes and reverses that. His legacy is getting absolutely shredded. And I, so I take it as like he's maybe kind of stepping up to kind of start, maybe defend. To defend himself a little bit. Almost like he wants to be the cool guy again.
B
Don't forget about me.
A
Yeah.
E
All right. Open invitation to respond to anything that you've heard. Answer our questions. Help us find out.

F
I want to touch on health care quickly because Charlie brought it up. I do think that the health care system before the AFF Affordable Care act was hot garbage. There's no better way to put it. I remember being in college and being kicked off by mom's health insurance because the health care companies were like, you're too old, but you're not working, but you don't get health Care and Barack Obama fixed that. I also remember the time where if you had a baby and you're a woman, that was a preexisting condition thanks to the Affordable Care Act. That's not the case now with this interview and I got a chance to listen to all of it. I thought it to be very interesting. Cuz I do think he talks about how there needs to be a generational shift in the party. And it's worth pointing out that when Barack Obama came on the scene in 2006, he was that generational shift. And I think as we look now at the party and we look at the mechanics of the party, which I think he digs into in this interview saying, listen, I hated it as a candidate, but the team around me were all 20 somethings and 30 somethings and they made me do things I didn't like to do. They made my schedule crazy. But that's how we won. They had energy. It was, he called it the beloved community, as he referred to Dr. King when he talked about this ideal of a community where everybody's excited about a thing and they're rallied around a thing. And he sort of harkens the Mamdani campaign not for their policies, but the energy that they created in the city of New York. And what the Democratic Party needs to return to is that type of energy, not 50 somethings and 60 somethings running.
B
The problem is the energy in the party is not going to win. Being a moderate Democrat. The energy in the party is on saying there's going to be free grocery stores.
F
I don't know about that, Dana.
D
I would like to push back real quick. The one thing that Barack Obama and President Trump have in common is that they are communicators of a higher cost. Like their brilliance. When they're called on something you're never going to see Obama or President Trump asked a question that they can't answer. Even if they don't know the answer, you're not going to know it because they just, they're always prepared. And I think one of the people will be like, well, Obama's time's up and he sees that there's not going to be someone like him. He talks about the youth, what we're seeing and we'll talk about later. No one's showing the brilliance and they're all on both sides. It's the same. Republicans have the same problem. Like no one is realizing that Trump's not running again. He's won. Obama won those who hate him. And you can't touch him. You can't take his two terms away. And it's the same thing with President Trump. And so when he talks, the reason why everyone's still listening is because the people who are supposed to be coming up are putting out, I believe the term was used, hot garbage because they're not saying anything.
F
But to your point around the brilliance, I think when he was, he was talking the Affordable Care act was how do we fix health insurance? The conversation that we need to be having now is not necessarily about health insurance, but how do we fix health care in this country? There's so many hospitals that have shut their doors. We've seen nurses on the picket lines because they're saying the system's not working and they're the closest to the system. And so the question that I think whoever this candidate emerges on either side is how do we not just talk about health insurance cards and how do we talk about people's experience with the healthcare system?
D
I think that starts with being honest. That's true.
F
It's a mess. We've got to fix it.
D
You shouldn't barter for drugs at cvs, which is what people are doing right now. Put yourself in a position where you're not always having to go to the hospital. So it's diet, it's cultural, it's all kinds of things that people have to take some really tough answers and look in the mirror when it comes to your own personal health.
E
That's right. All right, guys. Well, coming up next, Hillary the Borderhawk. Even Mrs. Clinton thinks her party is a total disaster when it comes to the border. That's next.
D
Sbc.
B
Find out what it means to me. Sbc.
A
So the Democrats have done it again, throwing the country's security into chaos by partially shutting down the federal government. Walking away from a bipartisan deal on DHS funding. Apparently it's their way or the highway. Democrats have A list of 10 demands for immigration and Customs Enforcement, but Republican and Republicans say it's all performative. And while lawmakers wrestle over securing our border, Chuck Schumer is still fighting over securing our elections. Playing the Jim Crow 2.0 card on the overwhelmingly popular voter ID laws.
D
About 83% of the American people, including majority Democrats, support voter ID laws.
A
The voter ID laws that first, each state can have its own voter ID laws, and some do and some don't. But secondly, what they are proposing in this so called SAVE act is like Jim Crow 2.0. That shows the sort of political bias of the MAGA, right? They don't want poor People to vote. They don't want people of color to vote because they often don't vote for them. And as the DHS funding battle rages on, who knew that Hillary Clinton was such a border hawk? HRC was doing a humble brag in Munich about deportations under her husband and Obama Watch.
C
More people were deported under my husband and Barack Obama without killing American citizens and without putting children into detention camps than were in the first Trump term or this first year of Trump's second term. It went too far. It's been disruptive and destabilizing, and it needs to be fixed in a humane way with serious secure borders that don't torture and kill people.
A
So before we get to that extraordinary performance by Hillary Clinton, Dana, we have seen over the years Democrats hold national security hostage, but this is literally holding national security hostage.
B
So it's like the Seinfeld shutdown. Like, what is this about? It is a shutdown about nothing. Six weeks ago, there was another shutdown. It was also about nothing. And what's happened once again is that the Democrats have lied to their base. Republicans do it, too. But in this case, the Democrats are saying, yeah, yeah, they're going to abolish ice, and so we're going to shut down the government. What did they do? They shut down TSA and fema and then they hopped on planes and went to Europe and they're not going to be in town this week. And so if you're somebody who works for TSA or if you work at fema, do you have to worry once again, like, am I going to get paid? What time should I show up? Do I have to start driving? Remember those stories? How did this end last time? It was when the travel lines got so long, and then the story started coming out of people who were living paycheck to paycheck, who weren't able to pay their mortgage, as Emily told us about, and they were driving Uber or DoorDash so that they could try to make ends meet. The Democrats once again have lied to them because no one is going to abolish ice. Do you think President Trump is going to sign a bill that abolishes ice? Absolutely not. And what the Democrats should have done is they should have said, look how we won in Minnesota. Look what we made them do. We pushed back. We won. They're leaving. And they should have taken that and run with it. Instead, they dig themselves a deeper hole. They just don't know it yet.
A
So it is all performative, and they're not actually going to get Anything done. But I do think it's interesting that Chuck Schumer goes back to and I do sort of give Chuck Schumer a little bit of grace because at least he's part of the Democrat Party, the party of Jim Crow. So maybe he knows what he's talking about because this is not like he.
D
Doesn'T know what he's talking about. And clearly I'm not a fashion mogul, but what's up with the glasses, bro? I mean those things.
A
And the shadow casts a line right across his pupils so you can't see his eye contact. So he looks like he's lying and that's what he is.
D
Here is my thing. If you're going to say something as powerful as this is Jim Crow 2.0 where journalists where is the follow up question, how so? Please explain to me because if there is a shred of that, I will be the first because I don't think Jim Crow would let me on his TV show. So if there's any Jim Crowing going around, I would like to be on the first line and know about it. But besides all of that, the whole point of the and I've it's gone. I had a meltdown on Gutfeld about us brothers being unable to get an id. My question is to everyone who is having this thing, the first question these so called journalists should ask when they come on there, sir, do you have a driver's license? And when he says yes. And does your wife have a driver's license? Yes. Did she have the driver's license prior to when you guys met? Yes, she did. And then when you guys got married, she took your name thankfully and she went to the DMV for 20 minutes and did the fill out the paperwork. Just like when you wanted your marriage license, you had to fill out the paperwork. Hey, just curious, when you got your, when you went into amusement park, did you have to show your ID to ride a roller coaster? Well, yes, you did. So you pretty much need an ID just to function in this country, to get in anywhere. That's correct. So again, why is it a bad thing for someone to have an id? Take voting out of it. It's embarrassing and it's extremely racist. And that racist doesn't mean anything anymore. But for Schumer to say things, you don't see gentlemen like him myself on TV going, We don't vote because we don't have IDs yet.
A
The only act of actual racism is the accusation itself, Richard. So. But you do have like a serious problem Here within the party, where you have somebody like Hillary Clinton making these, you know, extraordinary claims about how no, we're, you know, we're the party of border security. And then you have this. The majority of at least the energy in the party is all about sanctuary cities and abolishing ice. That's a real problem.
F
I think they're two different stories, though. I think where Hillary Clinton is correct is that there were more deportations under Bill Clinton, under Barack Obama, than there were under both of the Trump terms. With that being said, I think when you have internal immigration enforcement, which is why we're sort of in this government shutdown, it's important to figure out how we got here, right? And how we got here was after the death of two Americans, Renee Goode and Alex Peretti. And beyond that, it was the visuals that Americans were seeing every night on their television screen. A five year old being detained, the unleashing of tear gas agents near a school in Chicago and Humber Park. And then when Homeland Security, when the Homeland Security Secretary and the Attorney General were brought down to Capitol Hill to answer questions from lawmakers, instead of sort of being conciliatory and saying, yes, some of our officers made some mistakes, they doubled down on it. And so for a lot of the American people, they're looking at their representatives and saying, we need change and we need change now. The Democrats, I think, have some very simple demands, demands that local law enforcement here in New York, in dc, in la, in small parts of the country have to follow. You have to wear a badge, right? You have to identify yourself as you're in office. You have to give us your badge number. You have to have a warrant issued by a judge. Those are all things that most Americans agree should happen when you're engaging with law enforcement. And what Democrats are trying to do in this piece of legislation is say this too should apply for federal law enforcement officers, especially when they're enforcing immigration laws. When we've seen them capture Americans who are citizens and said, oops, we didn't mean to do that, when we see them arrest 5 year olds, unleash tear gas at schools. And so I think in this moment, the question we should be asking ourselves, whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, is do you like what you're seeing on your television screens? Is it okay with you that two Americans die from peaceful protesting? So how do we fix this? Which is what five year old parties should do.
A
Talking about is police officers taking care of a five year old after his parents fled and abandoned him.
F
No, that's not what happened. He was arrested and he used his bait to arrest his parents.
A
You need to go back and read.
F
No, I actually read the story.
A
So, Emily, what Richard did not talk about is the fact that you have Democrats who are still supporting sanctuary cities and want to abolish ice. That's the problem within their party.
E
Right. And I find it ironic that in this shutdown, immigration processing is also paused. So for these people that are aiming to and talk about protecting immigrants, they're doing anything, but with this very childish and reprehensible sort of stall warning going on. But I agree with you, Richard, Absolutely. When I saw that horrific footage, I demanded action. When I saw Jocelyn Nungare and Lake and Riley and Rachel Morin, I absolutely demanded more of my congresspeople and legislators and those people in those decision making capacities in those states that were refusing to work with federal agents in enforcing the laws of getting those illegal immigrants off the streets that had criminal records. So, absolutely, that was the change that I and so many other millions of Americans called for. I also find it contradictory that those same Democrats in that the bullet points that you put up on the screen, they are calling for coordination between state and federal law enforcement. Well, that's exactly what federal law demands and what again, millions of Americans like myself have been calling for so that it doesn't put Americans and others in danger by blocking the normal operations of ice, enforcing the laws that these legislators have put on the books that aim to protect Americans. And final point, I wonder if, as we talked about similarly with Barack Obama, perhaps sort of lending a tone and a note of caution or advice to the campaigns in terms of calling for younger people? Is this from Hillary Clinton? You know, this is a stark opposition to what Schumer was saying. So I wonder, is she correcting Democratic, you know, leadership? Because we know that 85% of Democrats, per CNN, want the SAFE act in place, want voter ID because yes, it is racist as hell to say that 20 million individuals will be dis, disenfranchised, most of them black and people of color, because you are asking for id. But no one seems to say that to Chuck Schumacher.
F
Emily, I agree with you on this particular point. I agree with you that if we were just going after the most heinous and illegal folks who are committing crimes in this country, that'd be one thing. And if that was the enforcement that we were seeing, that'd be one thing. What we're also seeing take place is ICE agents ripping bombs out of carpool lanes in Chicago Right. We're seeing them going after the entire Somali community in Minnesota.
D
Stop.
F
And people find that problematic.
D
Innocent women driving their children, the ones that are jumping out of car and calling every name in the book.
F
Is there not. Is there not footage of them in carpool lanes? Yeah, there is carpooling moms out of their dragging. The poor mom not going to a.
D
Day up and was like, where the white women at?
F
Did they not go. Did they not go to hospital?
D
These are all videos, you know, you're excited to be on, but be on.
A
No, no, no.
F
It's not about me being excited about. These are about the facts. There are footage of them going.
D
Shame on you to say a lie like that on live television. That's terrible.
F
Sure.
D
You should be ashamed of yourself.
A
Okay, up next, can word salad get any worse than Kamala? Well, AOC Says, hold my beer.
D
I think that this is such a.
E
You know, I think that I get.
F
It one piece at a time, and.
D
It wouldn't cost me a dime.
F
It ruins me when I come.
E
By the time I hit my 50s, I'd learned a few things, like how family is precious, work can always wait, and 99% of people over 50 already have the virus that causes shingles. Not everyone at risk will develop it, but I did. The painful blistering rash disrupted my life for weeks. Don't learn about your shingles. Risk the whole hard way. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by gsk.
D
Heard that on the radio today on flying in. That.
E
That's cool.
D
All right, move over. Kamala AOC just cooked up her own signature word salad on the global stage while trying to show off her foreign policy. Child cops at the Munich security conference. Check this out.
E
Would and should the US Actually commit.
C
US Troops to defend Taiwan if China were to move?
D
You know, I think that this is such a.
E
You know, I think that this is a. This is, of course, a. A very long standing.
C
Policy.
D
Dana. Somewhere there's a young lady with the last name of Palin who's going, I'm off the hook. All she said was, I could see Russia. Yeah, no joking, man. Her political career is over. Everyone's whitewashed. That was abysmal and horrible, and no one would ever take her seriously as a candidate.
B
Yeah, you know, I'm always looking for something to compliment. I am like, please give me something to say.
D
Wow. Whoa.
B
She is so smart. I would love to be able to do that. And I just. She doesn't give me a reason to. And she went all the way over there knowing she's gonna be on the world stage. Why do you go to Munich conference? Let's be honest. Does she care about Munich?
A
No.
D
Was it a paid prevent?
B
No, no, no. You go there to be seen because you want to have show that you have foreign policy chops in order to run in 2028. That is the only reason to go. That's why Gretchen Whitmer went as well.
D
Charlie, it was not a good day. You're going to attack the president and you're pushing as you always, if someone says your name wrong, you're quick to correct them on whether they said the proper. The pronunciation. And then you're going to bring up Venezuela and you don't know where it is.
A
Yeah. You would think that, you know, she would be prepared to answer a question about our biggest geopolitical adversary on the planet, especially compared to the sterling performance that Rubio put on there. And then, of course, Gavin Newsom over there talking about how Donald Trump is temporary, after which it's just so funny to me because it's like after all you all have told, lectured us about how he thinks he's a king and he's never going away. Now you tell people, oh, no, he's just temporary.
D
Well, sometimes when you say 16 times, that will do that to you, Emily. When you see the differences. Right. Rubio, possible presidential candidate, aoc, possible president. If you didn't know anything about either side and who they represent, who had a better day?
E
Yes, Rubio. My vote is Rubio. Yes, 100%. And I think it underscores to me that there is nothing that compares to experience. There's no kind of energy. There's no kind of rally on 6th Avenue and energy and amount of followers on your social media and your ideas and, you know, what you look like and all these things that I think often many of these Democratic officials have capitalized on and seized on, and they have confused it with actual capital. They have confused it with actual credibility. So what I saw there was essentially a TikTok influencer that got called out for being asked a substantive question that she failed on. And unfortunately, and so dishearteningly, I think there's a lot of students out there that would have had a way better answer. Just an average Joe would have had a way better answer than this person who represents millions of people right here in this state and likes to lecture me on the choices I make. Rubio, in contrast, came up there in a great sort of one, two punch to Vance's speech earlier. He articulated exactly why we need Europe and why they need us, why we prioritize ourselves and also our shared future. And this falls so flat. I wonder what Whitmer's speech bubble of thoughts, by the way, was during that time.
D
It's not me. Take both sides. And again, you always want to go after Republicans for saying things. Not you, I'm saying in general. But here's an example where people make the DEI argument. First, one side wants the best and brightest, even if they don't get along. Rubio and Trump never had a great relationship beforehand. Vance and Trump didn't have a great. But professionally they're doing their thing. And then when you hear the argument about dei, those were DEI answers. How do you square that? Cuz I wouldn't want that. Representing my party has nothing to do with them personally. But like that is the last place you want to look. For lack of a better term, ignorant on what you came to speak on.
F
Look, I think it's hard to answer hypothetical about sending US troops into war with China. It's not a simple yes or no. Living in dc, I know there's a lot of members of Congress. I would hesitate, unless you're Lindsey Graham, to answer this question, but I think there's a bigger thing surrounding the Munich Conference.
D
Right.
F
Because I do think Rubio gave nice remarks. But the pivot is AOC should have made here was. Let's talk about what's happening in Canada. Right. While this conference is happening, Canada is making a side trade deal with China. While this conference is happening, Europe is making a trade deal with South America.
D
You should have been there. If you would have gave that answer, you would be the star of the Democratic Party right now. That is a beautiful answer.
B
If AOC had given that answer, I would have had something to compliment.
F
Well, thank you, Dana, but this is very important. These countries are making deals without the United States at the table. Pay attention.
D
Up next, people are now taking their chatbots on dates.
F
Welcome back. A wine bar in New York City has redesigned itself so people can bring their AI companions out for a real life date. Headphones, screens and everything. Tyrus, what's your take?
D
Stay home.
B
I would say delete your imaginary friend and go meet some real people. And kudos to the restaurant for figuring out a way to get on tv.
A
That may be. You may have identified your own problem if you're taking your phone out for a date. But I guarantee you they figured out a way to charge the phone.
B
That's not true.
A
Some amount of money.
D
Oh, and what do you do when another man's charging your phone and you're on a date with him.
A
The charging.
B
No, they charged for the phone.
A
Right, exactly.
B
Even though the phone didn't need.
A
They're going some other guy share that.
D
Meal, putting some other place, putting their device into your phone.
F
So, Emily, based on the reporting, they said there's a lot of folks in there. They had their headphones on. There was, you know, like some of them look socially awkward. What's your take on this?
E
This is the end of the world as we know it. This is so sad. It breaks my heart and I feel like there should be someone sitting outside with. With an invitation to a party with real people and hand it to every single person as they leave that restaurant.
D
Or this is the reason why we brought back the direwolf.
F
Release the hounds with real people and we're inviting you to come back. Cuz one more thing is up next.
B
It's time for one more more thing. We don't have enough time. And then I'm hurrying. Okay. I'm gonna do Shameless Plugs on a Monday. I did an interview with Fortune, and it was about my advice for Gen Z and looking for a job. One of my biggest pieces of advice, stop waiting for the perfect job. Just start working. Get underway and unlock that energy. Podcast today with Matt Whitlock. Check it out. And Tyrus, you're next.
D
All right, cool. I'm just gonna go straight in because you know what my one more thing is since Shameless Plugs is a theme. It's the Planet Tires comedy tour. Check it out. Pretty much all sold out. Got some exciting shows coming up within. You can count down the days. I'll be in Michigan, Illinois, anywhere else. Take us home, Charlie.
A
Not a Shameless plug. The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida has turned $90,000 they seized from a convicted drug dealer into an ice cream truck to roam around the neighborhood and give out to children.
B
I love it, Emily.
E
Guys, let's go to Dallas. Dallas Fire Rescue 30. Thank you to those brave, amazing responders that saved two men right there.
B
Amazing.
