Dana Perino
Hello, everyone. I'm Dana Perino along with Kellyanne Conway, Harold Ford Jr. Jesse Waters and Greg Gutfeld. It's five o' clock in New York City, and this is the five.
Greg Gutfeld
Turn it down.
Harold Ford Jr.
Turn it down.
Greg Gutfeld
Turn it down. It is right to rebel. I stand for the house. I stand for the hell.
Dana Perino
So Democrats are blaming President Trump for the anarchy in Los Angeles. Things are a little calmer today, but only after Trump called in the National Guard. And 500 Marines are now on standby. They're ready to take on any anti ICE demonstrators who were burning cars, blocking freeways and pelting police officers with objects. President Trump is slamming the destruction and is warning that California Governor Gavin Newsom could be arrested. Gavin Newsom.
Jesse Waters
Is he daring Tom Holman to come and arrest him? Should he do it?
Greg Gutfeld
I would do it if I were Tom.
Dana Perino
I think it's great.
Greg Gutfeld
Gabbit likes to ballistic.
Jesse Waters
What do you make of the fact that he says you want a civil war on the streets of America?
Harold Ford Jr.
No, that's just the opposite. I don't want a civil war. Civil war would happen if you left it. If you left it to people like him.
Greg Gutfeld
And I like him.
Harold Ford Jr.
You know, I always got along with him, never had a problem with him, but he's grossly incompetent.
Dana Perino
But Gavin Newsom, he's firing back. California is suing the federal government over the deployment of the National Guard. And Newsom has been daring Trump officials to arrest him.
Jesse Waters
Get your hands off these poor people. Just trying to get. Live their lives, man. Trying to live their lives, paying their taxes. The hell is this guy? Come after me?
Harold Ford Jr.
Arrest me.
Jesse Waters
Let's just get it over with, tough guy. So, Tom, arrest me. Let's go.
Dana Perino
A little deja vu for you. Despite the clear images of burning cars, Democrats and the media kept insisting that the protests were mostly peaceful.
Greg Gutfeld
We are having an administration that's targeting peaceful protests. A lot of these peaceful protests are being generated because the President of the.
Harold Ford Jr.
United States is sowing chaos. So I don't know what all this so called violence is all about.
Jesse Waters
I'm worried about the safety of the.
Greg Gutfeld
People who are peacefully protesting, the vast majority of protesters.
Harold Ford Jr.
And demonstrators are peaceful.
Kellyanne Conway
They're passionate.
Dana Perino
And Maxine Waters weighed in here with this.
Harold Ford Jr.
What are you going to do?
Greg Gutfeld
You go shoot some kid?
Jesse Waters
He's afraid of him.
Kellyanne Conway
What, you're going to shoot an elected official?
Greg Gutfeld
If you shoot me, you better shoot straight.
Jesse Waters
I don't know why you're in my city.
Kellyanne Conway
You did.
Harold Ford Jr.
The governor was not contacted.
Dana Perino
All right. We are here on a Monday, big news day, and Jesse Waters said you were watching all of this over the.
Jesse Waters
Weekend, had some thoughts, Maxine, no relation. You can't blame US Soldiers for the violence. They're trying to lie, just like they lied about Joe Biden. This thing started on Friday, covered it Friday night on Primetime. And then it went on into Saturday. And Karen had a stand down order for the lapd. She didn't do anything. She let her whole city burn. They only started calling it a riot when Trump mobilized the guard because they got embarrassed. It was mostly peaceful on Friday and Saturday when the guard comes in. Then all of a sudden, Trump's triggering violence. It's crazy. They tell us time and time again, Dana, only the federal government can enforce immigration law. So when the federal government enforces immigration law, they break the law. No, no, no, no, no. They are siding with foreign terrorists. If you are waving a flag of your country and you are burning the flag of the country you've come into, you're not an immigrant, you're an invader. And in a way, I'm glad this is happening. I'm glad the whole country gets to see this. This is mass migration laid bare. I'm glad we're seeing them throw rocks at cops. Not that they're doing it. I'm glad the country knows. This is not a nuanced position. There's no middle ground here. You either have a law, either have a border, or you have a country, and that's it. Now, you cannot have immigration without assimilation. Does this look like a melting pot to you? It doesn't look like a melting pot to me. And California has moved right? Every county in the country has moved right. So for the Democrats to side with these people, it's just crazy. There's money in the big beautiful bill for ICE for these mass migration, deportations. You gotta do it. Absolutely have to do it. And the pictures that are coming out of this, when you have the Tesla terrorism and you have a guy with a flag over a burning vehicle, you're gonna just Jam that right down their throats in the midterm elections. And I don't know how the Democrats can survive siding with Mexican flag waving arsonists.
Dana Perino
Well, so. And also, Greg, they're burning the American flag and raising the Mexican flag.
Harold Ford Jr.
It's disgusting. I mean, this attention is really cutting into Pride Month. Seriously, the only thing that should be flaming are the floats.
Dana Perino
Exactly.
Harold Ford Jr.
But, okay, so let's. Let's follow the cycle that Jesse talks about. The streets are unsafe, so the troops come in to intervene, and the Dems and media portray the intervention as an escalation. Haven't you seen this before? They did this with the BLM riots. They did this with the protesters on campus when they would assault students. And then, oh, the police better not get there. Israel accused of genocide after October 7th. You can even look at male trans in bathrooms. Men pretending to be women to go into bathrooms. It's not to avoid attention. It's to get attention, to act out. This is another example of acting out. And then when you react, they accuse you of the aggression. They're like the guy who sucker punches a bouncer and then gets his asses kicked. It gets his ass kicked and then wants to press charges. I think the overarching goal here is to recalibrate risk. Obviously, getting violent, deadly illegals out of the country will lower your risk as a citizen unless the process creates a counteroffensive that suggests a greater risk, meaning riots. So it's a form of extortion. And you may decide, as a California citizen naively, that, you know, it's just not worth the trouble. I don't want this mob coming for me. That's what they want to do. And you're right. It's like when you see the. I mean, a guy is waving the flag of the country he doesn't want to go back to. It's like a PETA activist wearing a fur coat. It doesn't make sense. And yet we're supposed to nod along and pretend that that's our problem. It's not our problem. These thoughts were. I said this earlier last week. These thoughts aren't introduced into our heads. These people expect us to agree with this. No, we don't. We demand. If you come here and you're messing with this country and you're waving a flag and you're saying, f America, you know you're gonna hear from us.
Dana Perino
And imagine. Kellyanne, well, I'd love your. Your expertise on the political side of things or even on the law, because Governor Gavin Newsom now suing the government saying, Trump's not allowed to do this. But also, I would imagine that support for deportations will likely go up after people see images like this.
Kellyanne Conway
They've already been going up. Actually. The president. The president is supportive in his deportations. In everybody's polling. I think cbs, New York Times, they regret asking those questions. When they actually see the data in return, they say, oh, we're not going to do that again. But that's changed over time because we all have two eyes and two ears that function and we see what's happening. In addition to everything that's been said here that I agree with, I think people won't be fooled again. The Summer of Love, as the Democrats insisted It was cost $1 billion plus that we know of in 2020. And you had all these people from the cappuccino counters and the country clubs venmoing money to Black Lives Matter. I got to support them. I got to put the black square on my Instagram feed. And they got five. They got rooked because those folks bought mansions in California. We all saw. And what came of that. Now, you're not going to see that. Instead, you see people saying, you know what? All I see the peaceful folks are the law enforcement who are putting their lives on the line, who are out there trying to keep the peace, trying to stop the violence, watching the American flags being burnt while the Mexican flags are being waved. And I think Gavin Newsom wants to be arrested, I think he would be happy. He put his hands out right now to Tom Homan or Donald Trump to be arrested. How else to distinguish oneself in a field of no presidential timber but all wood chips going into 2028? And I think he wants to do that. He can go on a hunger or hair gel strike from prison and make himself the issue. Last thing, when Gavin Newsom said to that reporter, that friendly reporter, to him, you know, man, these people are just trying to get about their day. These people are. The White House put out a rolling list of pictures and biographies today. Anybody can pull it. It's public information. Go to WhiteHouse.gov today, the White House shows you 15 to 20 examples with their names and their rap sheet of who the criminals are who are being deported. This is not Abuela who's been working hard here for 52 years. These are hardened criminals. And it's public information. Everybody can see it. That's who Gavin Newsom is fighting for. The Democrats now are waving Mexican flags. And they have this Maryland dad, a gang banger, human trafficker, who's Being returned to the US Be careful what you wish for. Everybody's grandmother was right. Being returned to the US and is facing an indictment because for a decade he smuggled people, including children.
Dana Perino
And Harold, what do you think about the politics of the Democrats suggesting that all of this that we're watching on air is Trump's fault?
Greg Gutfeld
So it's good to be back. Hope everybody had a good weekend. I don't agree with that. Whoever's saying that, I think a couple things. One, you can't defend violence. I don't care what party you're in, what party you're not in, when and especially you can't defend violence against law enforcement and first responders. To me, that's what is the most heartbreaking and most tragic. And then obviously you see the property damage and other things. So I'm hopeful that Democrats, Republicans alike, and I actually understand why President Trump considers. I guess we now learned in the last hour that Marines will be deployed. I think it's a, it's a risky situation, but when you see situations like this and you see this kind of violence in law enforcement being attacked, I think any president is within his means to do that. Two to Democrats, stop taking the bait. This is these people who are out committing these violent acts are not part of the people. I think that many are trying to protect or defend or suggest that they deserve due process. These people deserve to be arrested. They deserve due process, but they deserve to be arrested. And those who refuse to refrain or show restraint, the police or law enforcement or for that matter, the military, should act against. Finally, I think one of the challenges, and one of our in House newspapers wrote about it today in an editorial, is how do we think about the hierarchy of deportations? I am in the camp, the overwhelming majority of Americans who believe that President Trump is right to deport hardened criminals, that we should find ways to find that people like the guy in Colorado who threw the Molotov cocktail. In fact, we should survey anybody, American or not an American who's on our soil, who Googles how to make a Molotov cocktail. The question becomes, I think, and I think what some of these Democrats and even some Republicans, if you look at the polling, the polling is mixed on the president on this, about who should we be deporting dishwashers and store clerks and hairdressers and five year olds. Jesse corrected me and got me thinking about the school situation differently several weeks ago when he said, if you find that there's someone in a high school who's a member of a gang. You should be able to go into the school, I agree, but I don't think you should be able to go and get four and five year olds. But that's just me talking. That's the issue here, I think. But when Gavin Newsom and others said they want to be arrested, when others say, why are you in our town? And Maxine Waters is like an aunt to me, the reason that people are that the Marines and the president has deployed the National Guard is because the police are being attacked, because property is being destroyed and because lives are being threatened. And if we as Americans put aside our partisan beliefs, if we can't agree on that, we've got worse problems than immigrants being here illegally.
Harold Ford Jr.
She like an aunt.
Greg Gutfeld
She is.
Harold Ford Jr.
Wow.
Greg Gutfeld
She's a beard.
Dana Perino
She's like no relation to justice. You should be blessed to have her as your aunt.
Greg Gutfeld
She's a sweetheart of her own and.
Kellyanne Conway
She'S not one of them.

2028 Democrats are scrubbing pronouns faster than Brian Stelter clears a Vegas buffet. Politico calls it the great Unwokening. Maryland Governor Wes Moore vetoed a bill on reparations. Greasy Gavin called transports unfair. Mayor Pete ditched his pronouns and Rahm says stop talking about bathrooms.
Jesse Waters
Stop talking about bathrooms and locker rooms and start talking about the classroom. If one child's trying to figure out.
Harold Ford Jr.
Their pronoun, I accept that.
Jesse Waters
But the rest of the class doesn't.
Harold Ford Jr.
Know what a pronoun is and can't even define it. But the woke detox won't fix squat if Dem's only idea is still orange man. Bad.
Jesse Waters
71% of Democrats say their leaders are ineffective. You are in Democratic leadership.
Kellyanne Conway
Why are they wrong?
Harold Ford Jr.
So when you look at what's happening here, Trump is doing some really bad things to people, right? Independents, Republicans or Democrats are basically saying the same thing. They're really scared of what's happening right now to their families. And they want to see leadership. So we cannot be the party of the status quo. That is for certain. Errol, I'm sure you're tired of having to answer this question every time you're on the show, but it's because you never answer it. You see all these examples that we use out there. Rejection of pronouns, rejection of reparations, rejection of men and women's sports. That's what these little kind of desperate examples are. But there is no through line that tells you what they are for. These are all like, yeah, we were already there, but what are you for? What are you for?
Greg Gutfeld
I think you nailed it.
Harold Ford Jr.
Thank you.
Greg Gutfeld
I think it is important for Democrats to understand, and I think Rahm is getting at a lot of it with some of the things he's saying. But we've been talking about it on this show now, and Dana sometimes says the Democrats never listen to me. They're starting to look like they're listening a little bit. Wes Moore and others are starting to understand that. And Wes is a smart guy starting to understand. First, President Trump won because of the border and because of the economy. And wrapped into a lot of that was fears that people had about some of these cultural issues, including the issues that we talk about around this table, including rights given to little boys that want to be girls over little girls and activities they do. The president's gotten 50% of the border thing right? He has locked down the border. The question now they're dealing with, and we're seeing it play out in an ugly and violent way, is the hierarchy of deportations. And I'm rooting for him to get that right. We need a good border security immigration bill, and apparently there's some money in this big, beautiful bill to do some of that. But Democrats, if you're smart, we need an affordability agenda. Talk about the things that everyday working class people who put Mr. Trump over the line in 16 and put him over the line in 2024. I would even argue Ronald Reagan, when he won it, were working class Democrats that put him over the line. So we have to have an agenda that addresses that. The more we're concerned with pronouns, as the bottom of the screen says, the more we're concerned with protecting the rights of people who are hardened criminals, the less likely it is we're going to find our way back to the majority in the House and the Senate, and certainly less likely we'll find our way back to the White House. But we look like we're on a better trajectory today than we were yesterday.
Harold Ford Jr.
Kellyanna, Harold is talking about moving to the center. But how can they move to the center if Trump occupies it? Like they need to be deprogrammed of their never Trumpism, but before they can actually accept any of this common sense.
Greg Gutfeld
Yes.
Kellyanne Conway
The current Democratic Party is so left, they don't even see the center. And it'd be one thing if you changed your mind, if you had a true awakening on a public policy issue. It's not like these people. Greg burned a bra or burned a flag at Woodstock when they were 19. They said this last year when they were governors and in their 50s and 60s. And this whole idea that they have changed their mind on something so significant and I would say so obviously no one's going to buy that. But you said the most important thing. I challenge Democrats all the time, elected and unelected Democrats and even independents. Can you finish or start a sentence? If I ask you who are you? What do you believe in? If you can finish and start a sentence without saying Donald Trump's name 10 times, you win a prize. I still have all the prizes. They're physiologically incapable of not saying Trump, Trump, Trump. This is why vaccines for diseases include part of what you're allergic to. In other words, you put it in there. Trump Derangement syndrome is so real for them. It's stage five, no cure, no therapeutic, no resolution. The other thing is I learned everything about today's Democratic Party from the Democrats themselves. And people in focus groups call them out on it. They've lost a lot of union members, a lot of Catholics, a lot of rank and file folks because all those people burning down their cities that hurt the working men and working women. This is not going to work. Big beautiful bill, all this stuff, in addition to the inflation and migration, the big issue in the last election was fairness over wokeness. And people say not fair to have plumbers and pipefitters pay for student loans, doctors and lawyers student loans. Not fair to have boys and women's sports. Not fair to have 10 million people come here illegally and then we see them get clothes and cell phones and your kids seat in a New York City classroom. The Democrats are the ones who allowed men to penetrate the waters of women's pools as they held official positions. And they're not going to be able to impact that. I think the Democratic nominee is going to be someone no one's thinking about. It's going to have to be a total outsider. They'll probably be unsuccessful, but they will be different. It won't be anybody who is involved in this nonsense.
Harold Ford Jr.
Yeah. You know, Dana, I think that Trump broke the Democratic Party because they thought so much about him. They stopped thinking about other issues.
Dana Perino
Yeah. And I think Rahm Emanuel is hitting on that. But also he had the benefit of being away.
Harold Ford Jr.
Yeah.
Dana Perino
And being in Japan. And he was like working every day as an ambassador. He comes back, he's like, what has happened to this party? But I think that there's going to be some backlash against these moderating Democrats from the left flank because they're not for any of this. And that's where the energy in the party is. I also think that a lot of this continued fallout for the Democrats comes from short circuiting their primary by going back to Biden. Right. The original sin, or however you want to call it. Like their decision to have him run again and then only back out after it was quite obvious that he couldn't do it anymore. That is going to hurt them. Plus unwoking themselves. Pete Buttigieg and Kamala Harris both signed questionnaires calling for taxpayer funded trans surgeries for detained illegal immigrants. Okay.
Harold Ford Jr.
That checks every box.
Dana Perino
So like, how are you going to say, oh, I'm not for that anymore. You, you sign the questionnaire. This was your policy position. The last thing I would say is they pick the dumbest things to fight on. Right. So work requirements for able bodied people are popular. That's something that's popular. If you talk about middle class tax cuts, also very popular. But if they just say to everything, trump bad, Trump bad. It sounds like cavemen. And nobody wants to a caveman to be president.
Harold Ford Jr.
Jesse, I saw you. You.
Jesse Waters
Is there a caveman running for president?
Harold Ford Jr.
Yes.
Jesse Waters
I'm intrigued.
Harold Ford Jr.
Yes.
Jesse Waters
So it's not going to be easy to pivot back to the center because they said this was the civil rights issue of our lifetime. Like, they changed the English language, they changed bathrooms, they changed everything. And if you didn't go along with it, you were an intolerant barbarian.
Harold Ford Jr.
Exactly.
Jesse Waters
So they lose one election. They're like, never mind. No, you can't do that. That would be like if you're running on abolishing slavery, you lose one election. When abolishing slavery is on the ballot, you're like, we're going to drop it. It's not working out. You can't do that, Dana. And you're right. All the activists are so dead set. The professors, the media, the whole party. You can't just take that issue away from them and act like it's no big deal. They're going to go berserk.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah, you think. You think Elon and Donald Trump are going to make up?
Jesse Waters
I hope so, but I'm not counting on it. Right now.
Kellyanne Conway
Democrats still want health care for illegals like they all said and raised their hand in the 2019 debate. Period.
Greg Gutfeld
All right, we shall see.
Harold Ford Jr.
Rahm was ambassador to Japan.
Dana Perino
Yeah.
Harold Ford Jr.
Such a great job. I want that job because then I'd be tall.
Jesse Waters
I thought you were gonna say you could eat a lot of sushi.
Harold Ford Jr.
I don't like fish, but I would be tall.
Jesse Waters

Simone Biles is beefing with Riley Gaines on X. After Gaines criticized a biological male pitcher who plays on a women's high school softball team in Minnesota. Ms. Bowles wrote, you're truly sick. All of this campaigning because you lost the race. Straight up sore loser. In another exchange, Bowles complained compared excuse me, Gaines to a man. But the swimmer fired back at the gymnast. Riley Gaines said this to Will.
Dana Perino
So disappointing is I thought of people like my younger sister. She's 16 years old, she's an elite level gymnast in one tweet and I would imagine a aim to be virtuous and inclusive and kind and compassionate. She sold out people like my younger sister.
Greg Gutfeld
Greg. What. What do you think of this? I mean, Simone Biles who talked had that doctor, that awful criminal rapist, Dr. Larry whatever, this Nasser guy. And then to say this to Riley Gaines, what do you think might be the source of this?
Harold Ford Jr.
She's like a woman who sends love letters to someone on death row. You know, she's a victim of a predator in a locker room and then she mocks females who wish to Avoid male predators in a locker room. She's the worst kind of role model in that she escaped and then shut the door behind her so other people couldn't. Now I go by a 48 hour rule where maybe she'll recognize her hypocrisy and she might apologize, she might, she might not. But in a world where, you know, you need women, brave women, to share the risk, she didn't. She didn't share their risk. There's all these women that are standing up on behalf of real women, and she's a coward. She's worse than the quitter that she is. She actually is a ringer for the other side. By the way, if Simone believes that trans women are women, then I'm just gonna assume Simone is trans.
Jesse Waters
That's what we're doing.
Harold Ford Jr.
Yeah, she's trans.
Greg Gutfeld
I think this guy molested and did all these horrible things. But what do you think about this, dp?
Dana Perino
Well, I always say, like, especially like, if you're a little girl and you know, the gymnast and like, she's your hero, like, never meet your heroes. Because somebody who lets their masks slip like this and will show you who they really are. I also am interested in this. Where are the brand partnerships, right, for all of this? Like, if it was the other way around, you can bet that those brand partnerships be like, oh, I don't think we can be involved in this anymore. The only person that's actually brave here is Riley Gaines. And I don't think there are a lot of women who are doing it. She got thrust to the forefront because even, like Serena Williams, for example, do you remember what she said? That if she were to play a man in tennis, she would lose in three straight sets easily, like, no questions asked. We see countless examples of this, and there is no way that men and women compete in the same way in gymnastics. We know this. It's like obvious. Plus, it was such a terrible way for her to look at, to comment on another woman's looks in something like this. So this is a woman who has all the opportunity in the world to be a leader in America. She never had to even comment about trans. If you want, you could be like all the other successful women athletes who are saying nothing and just stay in the background. But instead now she's thrust herself into the fight. And now I don't want to interview her anymore. I used to want to prom.
Greg Gutfeld
Tom, are you having, Are you going to cover this story this evening?
Jesse Waters
No, we're not. I don't want to pile on Harold because She needs to remain focused on the goal here, and the goal is bringing home the gold in la. She's already a little mentally unstable. You saw her at the last Olympics. So we just need to make sure she remains focused on. If we keep piling on, she's going to win a silver or a bronze. Is that going to make you happy, Harold? No.
Greg Gutfeld
I'm also glad I'm with you on this. What are you talking about?
Jesse Waters
You guys are being a little tough on her. I'm also happy that it's two women duking it out for once. You know, usually it's guys like me and Greg who are constantly having to save women's sports. Yeah, you know, I mean, you leave it to the guys. We do have daughters and we have logic and a good sense of fairness, so we have to fight your battles for you. But finally, the women are fighting it out for themselves, as it should be.
Greg Gutfeld
You've said enough.
Harold Ford Jr.
Should they fight?
Greg Gutfeld
Huh?
Jesse Waters
Should they fight it out?
Harold Ford Jr.
Should they fight it out?
Greg Gutfeld
Kelly.
Harold Ford Jr.
Harold, that's what you said in the green room. You said, I'd like to see him in a ring. You said Dana White.
Jesse Waters
I think he said a jello match.
Kellyanne Conway
Really, Harold, Bring it on. Bring it on.
Greg Gutfeld
Kellyanne, what are your thoughts about this?
Kellyanne Conway
Yes, yes, I want to. My thoughts are that Simone Biles had the luxury of never competing against men to get her gold medals. She's never had to compete against a biological male. And so she's the lucky one here. And it's Riley Gaines who really has lifted up women. I work with her a little bit at America First Policy Institute. That's what her mission is. It's actually not to put other people down, is to lift up women who are forced to compete against biological males. And the other thing is, Simone Biles has a huge platform. Everyone knows who she is. She's looked upon as a hero to a lot of these little girl gymnasts. She can go and find a safe place for transports. Why do people always think the rest of us ought to do that? It's like Hillary Clinton, do something for women and girls. No, you do something for women and girls. You failed 10 years ago to be president. You do something for women and girls. Bill Clinton's done a lot for women and girls. Hillary can do this, but it's also just. And I think that Simone has a lot of bile in her right now to throw out there. But I'm truly disappointed because I love the American flag, I love the Olympics, I love our Olympians and always make feel good yeah, that's the way I felt. That's why I felt. But another person hiding behind social media who doesn't need to.
Dana Perino
Right.
Greg Gutfeld
I'm still going to root for her and I hope she should come out and clarify this even more because these are real questions, I think they've been raised here about how you benefited from some of these things. And now she will, because no one else will.
Dana Perino
Pressure.
Greg Gutfeld
Well, I hope she does. I hope she does. Ahead, a media meltdown. ABC News benches reporter Terry Moran for dissing a Trump aide. I am everyday people.
Jesse Waters
ABC News is suspending correspondent Terry Moran for attacking sexual matador and senior Trump adviser Steven Miller. Terry tweeted, then deleted this. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with a capacity for hatred. He's a world class hater. You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate. You may recall President Trump recently sniffed out Terry as a phony journalist.
Harold Ford Jr.
Hey, they're giving you the big break of a lifetime. You know, you're doing the interview. I picked you because frankly, I never heard of you. But that's okay. I picked you, Terry, but you're not being very nice. He had ms.13 tattoo.
Jesse Waters
We'll agree to disagree. So, Dana, you worked with Terry Moran. What is he like?
Dana Perino
Well, you know, that was back in the caveman days when everybody was polite to each other in the press briefing room. But I have a feeling, well, actually, I just know, like, he didn't love 43 at all.
Harold Ford Jr.
You're being very gracious.
Dana Perino
I'm being super gracious. I've never said this out loud, but I do remember him, you know, being quite happy on the exit polls that came out in 2004, telling one of our young staffers in the press office that, gosh, hate to see you go, guys. And he was like, pretty happy. That turned out not to be true. It's actually one of the reasons. Well, not him specifically, but we don't report on exit polls anymore because they're often wrong. But that was just one of those examples. But there was no love lost between him and the Bush White House. I did think that it was a nice circuit breaker story so that everybody could get off of the Elon Musk Trump feud and go back at talking about the media. Almost like Simone Biles. He let the mask slip and it was after midnight and he just said what he thinks. I believe that Simone Biles said exactly what she thinks about Riley Gaines. As disgusting as that Was. And Terry Moran had to pay a price for it because ABC already has tons of problems, including with the View. It was just last week that the View was told, tone it down, guys. And so leadership is paying attention. They also had to pay some money in order to the President's library fund for another settlement. I can't remember what that one was about. George Stephanopoulos, maybe. I mean, they've got problems throughout. Terry Moran didn't help them.
Jesse Waters
One of the best parts about X, Greg, is that these journalists should just expose themselves. You don't even have to do anything.
Harold Ford Jr.
Yeah, and you just made me think that Simone and him were drunk. Because as an expert in drunk tweeting, it's not like they become less well written. Elevate the risk, and you increase the frequency. So you're bound to say something like, clearly this guy is either on, you know, who was drinking a lot of red wine, maybe on some pills, I don't know, maybe he took an edible, but he thought he was like Shakespeare. And he also, typical Lib, aside from Harold, he doesn't do this. All these liberals think they possess a superpower power that can read your mind and see into your soul. You get these fights with them. None of the points that they make could ever be made in an actual debate because it's all about what's in your head. So they do that all the time. They go, he's an evil person. He's an evil person. Now you have people that go, well, you're on Fox. You say stuff like that all the time. Yeah, but I don't pretend to be a news anchor, you know, and again, this is a trans issue. He's, you know, he's pretending to, you know, he's saying he's a journalist, but underneath it, he's as biased as everybody else.
Jesse Waters
How many of these Terry Morans are out there, do you think?
Kellyanne Conway
Oh, Legion.
Jesse Waters
Legion.
Kellyanne Conway
They're like Elon Musk kids. They're everywhere. And they come two a year. No, they really are everywhere. There was a poll done, gosh, years ago where it was something like 92% of reporters said they had voted for Bill Clinton. I mean, they admitted it, and then again, they stopped taking those polls. Stephen Miller's tweet in return was brilliant. Stephen Miller tweeted back and said the thing about Terry and his meltdown was the mask fell. That he said, for years, the anchors and reporters have been Democrats and liberals masquerading in a, quote, journalists pose. I think Terry Moran got the short end here because by the way in the first term, networks would look past stuff like this all day long. They would pretend it's like, well, free speech. Well, Danny, you know, trauma. No. Now they're worried about another $15 million lawsuit like Stephanopoulos. And ABC had to pay for Trump because he referred to the President as something that was factually inaccurate and therefore slander, even against a public figure. Media trust hits a historic low. Gallup's poll that comes out every week, every year. Now, media is the least trusted civic institution in our country, behind the executive branch, Congress, the Supreme Court, used car salesmen. They've earned it. And it's because we, the democratization of information, knows we can pull up information however we want. We watch Stephen Miller, we see Donald Trump. This guy's trying to tell us about spiritual nourishment and hate. It was really weird. He's better off telling his bosses he was on a bender.
Jesse Waters
Harold, do you think Terry comes back from this?
Greg Gutfeld
I don't know. I don't know the guy. ABC clearly has one guy who died. ABC clearly has standards and I appreciate that. I do think I'm reminded when you have these thoughts and Greg touched on it and you want to say something, whomever it might be, I'm reminded of what the late, wonderful General Colin Powell used to say. He said, it ain't as bad as you think. It'll look better in the morning. Sleep on these things. There's no need to share these thoughts and get yourself all jammed up whether the thoughts are true or not. I don't believe the thoughts are true here, but always get a good night's sleep before you tweet something. When you've had a good dinner, just don't tweet.
Jesse Waters
Yep. Share it with your wife or your husband.
Kellyanne Conway
Read a book.
Harold Ford Jr.
It's Pride month.
Jesse Waters
Up next, Greta Thunberg just got yacht rocked.
Greg Gutfeld
You know, you make me wanna kick.
Jesse Waters
My heels up and talk through my head.
Greg Gutfeld
Back and talk. Come on now. Don't forget to say, David trusts Prevagen for his.
Kellyanne Conway
Talk about a ship of fools. Greta Thunberg and her merry band of left wing activists will be forced to watch footage of the October 7 terror attack. After IDF forces intercepted her selfie yacht off the Gaza coast. Greta apparently pre recorded a video for her stunt just in case she got caught. Check out this nonsense if you see this video.
Greg Gutfeld
We have been intercepted and kidnapped in.
Dana Perino
International waters by the Israeli occupational forces or for forces that support Israel.
Kellyanne Conway
But does this look like a kidnapping? Thunberg was pictured smiling while a soldier Gave her a sandwich. Jesse. Since then, Sweden kind of snubs Greta Thunberg's nonsense, saying that the hotline was all polluted with calls and Swedes abroad could not get through the queue because people were calling in saying she's kidnapped.
Jesse Waters
Good for Sweden. I would snub her as well. It's a country known for so many great things like IKEA and the bikini team and meatballs and Vikings. And then all of a sudden, she ruins your rep. All everybody thinks about is this precocious teenager who we like because she's strident. And it was global warming and it was cute. For a while. She was like the Michael Jordan of global warming. But remember when Jordan quit to play baseball? This is like what she's doing. Like she's focused on global warming. Great at that. And then goes and starts hating the Jews. No, you got to stick to what made you famous. Do your global warming thing and let's end it.
Kellyanne Conway
Dane. I love them calling it Selfie Yacht. We should come up with that one because that just seems to be.
Dana Perino
Yes, because ridicule of your opponents is very, very effective. And Selfie Yacht just perfectly encapsulated it. But also, she's not a teenager.
Jesse Waters
How old is she?
Dana Perino
She was born in 23.
Jesse Waters
She's 47. That's almost lying.
Dana Perino
I mean, she's. But she is, as Abe Greenwald said today, she's a perpetual child. And people keep giving her attention. And I think it's very rude that she would do a video that says she was kidnapped. She's being held hostage. Like, the whole point. There are still hostages in the tunnels in Gaza. So I thought it was ridiculous. I do love that the punishment is that she has to watch October 7th footage.
Kellyanne Conway
Harold. I don't think she qualifies for 2028, but do you see a future in the Democratic Party for her as president?
Greg Gutfeld
No more than in the Republican Party. This was a bad public stunt and potentially very dangerous. Thankfully, no one was hurt and I concur with the things that have been said around the table. I would remind you, I do hope she makes a comeback. After Jordan tried to play baseball, he came back and won three NBA championships. Hopefully she gets more serious and understands. There was a moment when you agreed with her positions on the issues that people took her very seriously. This is not helping that Craig close us out there.
Harold Ford Jr.
Well, I know they're going to force her to watch the. The footage of October 7th. Are you sure that's gonna be a punishment for her? She might come out of that and go. That was the feel good movie of the summer. I'm pissed off that they picked her up. They should have let her go and then she could have come into contact with the mosques and they probably would have blown themselves up.
Kellyanne Conway
One more thing is up next.
Dana Perino
Best believe I'm still bejeweled when I.
Kellyanne Conway
Walk in the room. I come to make the whole place shammer and I. So what are you thinking?
Dana Perino
It's time now for one more thing, Jesse.
Jesse Waters
All right. Brett Bear, he does it again, shocks the world. He is almost as black as I am. Watch this. Brett Bear and the Sugar Hill Gang. You gotta love it. Tonight, Jesse Waters, Primetime. Tom Homan, 8 o' clock.
Dana Perino
Oh, I'm gonna watch that break.
Harold Ford Jr.
All right, tonight, Andrew Gruel, Dave Landau, Emily Campagno in tyrus tonight at 10 o' clock. Let's do this.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah.
Harold Ford Jr.
I love a good celebrity sighting, especially when it combines sports. Let's go to the Chicago White Sox game where the celebrity that showed up surprised Chuck Schumer entering and very excited. It was World Chuck Schumer Day. And so he actually got up to throw a ball. But then they realized he had tiny little arms. They didn't really know where he was, so they took him out and they drowned him. Yeah.
Dana Perino
He couldn't swim.
Harold Ford Jr.
No, he couldn't swim.
Dana Perino
That's interesting. Okay, I have a sports related one, too. I got home just in time to see the very end of the French Open where Carlos Alcaraz won after five and a half hours. Right. And this was his celebration with the ball boys. That's usually how Greg is when we leave the show. He gets so excited like that.
Greg Gutfeld
Harold, look at this. I thought they were going to do it again. So I'm going to stay with this theme. Congratulations to American Cocoa Golf. The first, first American to win the French Open in 10 years. A great match. She didn't give up. Fought not only this match, but the matches leading up to it. Congrats to her and her family. Was a wonderful day for her and a wonderful day for American tennis. And Carlos, man, what a comeback you staged there, brother. I thought you were going to lose. Congrats to you and your and your team.
Dana Perino
I had faith.
Kellyanne Conway
Carlos, Kellyanne, big sports weekend. I've had Welsh Corgis for 32 years, so I can definitely relate to this story. Marshmallow, this sassy corgue just hopped out of the pool and has zero interest in getting dried off. When his owner tries to dry him, Marshmallow's clearly saying, no way. He's fully owning that wet dog look and knows exactly how to rock it, short legs and all.
Dana Perino
Percy likes nothing more than to get his face dried.
Greg Gutfeld
Rest in peace.
Dana Perino
Sure. Everybody loved hearing that. All right, we have a big primetime lineup. Make sure you watch all these guys. That's it for us. Have a great night. Everybody.
Jesse Waters
This is Jimmy Phela inviting you to.

Podcast Summary: "The Five" – L.A. Rocked By Anti-ICE Riots
Episode Details:
The episode opens with Dana Perino introducing the panel: Kellyanne Conway, Harold Ford Jr., Jesse Waters, and Greg Gutfeld. The primary focus is the recent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, which have sparked intense debate and political contention.
Dana Perino outlines the situation: Democrats are attributing the anarchy in Los Angeles to President Trump’s policies. In response to the riots involving anti-ICE demonstrators burning cars, blocking freeways, and attacking police officers, President Trump has deployed the National Guard and placed 500 Marines on standby. He has criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom, suggesting potential legal actions against him.
Harold Ford Jr. challenges the notion that a civil war is imminent, arguing that Trump’s actions are a response to chaos sown by the current administration.
Greg Gutfeld supports the deployment of the National Guard, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order.
Jesse Waters criticizes the protesters, expressing concern for the safety of ordinary citizens and condemning the actions of those causing turmoil.
Dana Perino highlights the discrepancy between the visible violence and the media's portrayal of the protests as predominantly peaceful.
Greg Gutfeld reinforces the perception that the current administration targets peaceful protests, attributing the unrest to presidential policies.
Harold Ford Jr. and Jesse Waters further argue that the chaos is a result of the federal government's failure to enforce immigration laws effectively, leading to escalated tensions and conflicts.
The conversation shifts towards the broader political landscape, particularly the Democratic Party's strategies and challenges.
Kellyanne Conway criticizes the Democratic leadership for focusing excessively on President Trump, neglecting other critical issues, and alienating key voter bases.
Greg Gutfeld emphasizes the need for the Democrats to move beyond cultural issues like pronouns and focus on pressing matters such as border security and the economy to regain voter trust.
Harold Ford Jr. echoes the sentiment that the Democratic Party has lost direction by fixating on Trump, which has led to a disconnect with moderate and independent voters.
Dana Perino anticipates a backlash against the Democratic leadership for their inability to moderate and address core issues, further compounded by internal conflicts and policy missteps.
The panel discusses recent events involving prominent figures, such as the feud between gymnast Simone Biles and Riley Gaines. Kellyanne Conway and Harold Ford Jr. criticize Biles for her stance on transgender athletes, arguing that it undermines women's sports and contradicts her role as a role model.
Dana Perino defends Biles, highlighting her commitment to gymnastics and questioning the motivations behind the conflict.
Additionally, the panel touches upon ABC News' suspension of reporter Terry Moran for disparaging remarks about a Trump aide, reflecting broader media distrust and bias concerns.
The episode delves into cultural debates surrounding gender identity, particularly the use of pronouns, which Harold Ford Jr. and Jesse Waters argue distracts from more substantial political issues. They contend that the focus on such topics alienates voters and undermines the Democratic Party's broader objectives.
Kellyanne Conway criticizes the Democratic Party's preoccupation with slogans around Trump, arguing it hampers meaningful policy discussions and voter engagement.
As the episode wraps up, the panelists reflect on the path forward for both major political parties. Greg Gutfeld urges Republicans to focus on border security and economic issues while dismissing cultural debates as distractions orchestrated by the Democrats.
Harold Ford Jr. emphasizes the necessity for the Democratic Party to recalibrate its strategies to reconnect with the electorate, suggesting that internal divisions and misaligned priorities have weakened their position.
Dana Perino anticipates continued challenges for Democrats as they navigate internal conflicts and external pressures, potentially impacting their performance in upcoming elections.
Federal Response to Riots: President Trump's deployment of the National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles has sparked controversy, with Democrats attributing the unrest to his policies.
Media Portrayal vs. Reality: There is a significant disconnect between the visible violence in protests and the media's portrayal of them as mostly peaceful.
Democratic Party Strategy: The party is criticized for over-focusing on President Trump, neglecting other critical issues, and failing to appeal to moderate and independent voters.
Cultural Debates as Distractors: The emphasis on gender identity and pronoun usage is viewed as a distraction from more pressing political and economic concerns.
Future Political Landscape: Both parties face challenges in addressing internal divisions and reconnecting with the broader electorate to secure future electoral success.
Notable Quotes:
Dana Perino [01:10]: "Democrats are blaming President Trump for the anarchy in Los Angeles... Trump is slamming the destruction and is warning that California Governor Gavin Newsom could be arrested."
Harold Ford Jr. [01:54]: "I don't want a civil war. Civil war would happen if you left it to people like him."
Greg Gutfeld [02:08]: "And I like him."
Jesse Waters [02:27]: "Get your hands off these poor people. Just trying to live their lives... Come after me?"
Kellyanne Conway [15:04]: "The current Democratic Party is so left, they don't even see the center."
Greg Gutfeld [15:51]: "If you can't think about anything else because Trump is in your face all the time, you're not going to win."
This episode of "The Five" delves deep into the socio-political upheaval in Los Angeles, exploring the intersection of federal policies, media narratives, and party dynamics. The panelists provide a critical perspective on the actions of both the Republican and Democratic parties, emphasizing the need for strategic focus and unity to navigate the complexities of contemporary American politics.
