Jesse Walters
Hello, everybody.
Emily Compagno
I'm jesse walters along with emily compagno, harold ford jr. Sandra smith, and tom shalhou. It's five o' clock in new york city, and this is the five. The political world in shock. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham dying suddenly at his home over the weekend, with officials saying Graham suffered an aortic dissection, a sudden tear in the body's largest artery, and one of the deadliest cardiovascular emergencies. About an hour ago, South Carolina's governor appointing Lindsey Graham's sister to finish his Senate term, which ends in January. Tributes pouring in all day for one of Washington's most influential foreign policy voices, who was still working right up until his death, was a trip to Ukraine. His last words, according to Axios, quote, I can't die now. I still need to do the Russia sanctions, get Iran sorted out, and do Israeli Saudi normalization. He passed away hours later. President Trump remembering Graham as a tireless worker and one of his closest allies.
Jesse Walters
He was a great guy and he was a friend. He was a worker. He was a total workaholic politician. Now, some people don't call that work. Some people call that a lot of talking, but everybody loved him.
Sandra Smith
He was good.
Jesse Walters
On the other side, if I had Democrat problems, he could solve them.
Emily Compagno
But some liberals are showing their true colors, dancing on the late senator's grave with disgraceful videos and posts desecrating his legacy just hours after the announcement of his death. But most will remember Lindsay for his unwavering patriotism and political masterclass, like his defense of Brett Kavanaugh on Capitol hill back in 2018.
Sandra Smith
If you wanted an FBI investigation, you
Jesse Walters
could have come to us.
Sandra Smith
What you want to do is destroy this guy's life, hold this seat open,
Emily Compagno
and hope you win in 2020.
Sandra Smith
You've said that, not me.
Emily Compagno
You've got nothing to apologize for.
Sandra Smith
When you see Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said hello because I voted for them.
Emily Compagno
I would never do to them what you've done to this guy.
Sandra Smith
Boy, y' all want power. God, I hope you never get it.
Emily Compagno
You know, Emily, you still get the chills watching that big Kavanaugh moment.
Harold Ford Jr.
An incredible defense of the sanctity and the integrity of the process. Instead of diving into politicization that unfortunately, I think has been normalized in this country, I think the late senator now represents this moral code and really just pure character that unfortunately is lost. I think he represents a bygone era, albeit passing away far too soon. My last memory of him in person was actually on 6th Avenue. Here we were. I was, I think I was coming from the building and he was going into the building and he was walking down the street laughing, like, super joyful. He had some people around him, and I think of that with such joy because he to me represented that you can be happy and joyful and, and productive at the same time. And for some reason, I think things have been shifted and warped now that people equate being angry or being toxic with somehow being a part of the workforce or having to get something done on the Hill. He was always joyful. He spread light everywhere he went. And even in his defense of the process of now Justice Kavanaugh, he was, I mean, was he angry? No, he was just fierce. And he was fiercely devoted to this country with obviously all of his decades of service, including as a colonel in the United States Air Force. And I was in South Carolina recently, a few weeks ago, and even there at the next table over at dinner, the South Carolinians were talking about him. He was like the positive topic of conversation in that state. They loved him so much. And just a final point, that for us, as shocking even as we have there on the Kyron, that this is, and for his young age, we can lose our loved ones at any point. And certainly it's important, you know, learn your family history. And if there's some, some way that a test could somehow reveal a risk for you and your family, perhaps it, it might enable you to spend some more time with your loved ones. But certainly we remember his legacy forever. Yeah.
Emily Compagno
71, Harold. I mean, what a shock. A lot of people, no one saw this coming.
Jesse Walters
So I got elected to Congress. I was 26 years old. In 1996, I met Lindsey and he got elected to the Senate several years after that. And he was close friends, as has been noted, with John McCain. And they used to go take trips to the Middle East. My first trip to Israel and Iraq and all of the stands around Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was withwas, with Lindsey and Senator Grant and Senator McCain. They took a liking to me because they only took senators. I'll never forget a trip we were on. We were in Israel, it was mid morning and we helicoptered to a border, to one of Israel's borders with another country, obviously. And all of a sudden we turn around, we're in helicopter, the helicopter is loud and we have helmets on. McCain takes his helmet off and we turn around and McCain is bleeding from the face profusely. Lindsey and I look at another, we go to grab him. We think he could have been shot. There's so much noise in the chaos. It turned out McCain took his helmet off in the helicopter and jumped up too quickly and hit his head on a screw in the top of the helicopter. So Lindsay and I looked at each other. We'd been two days gone. We were both exhausted. McCain had the most. I mean, the most draining trips. We got a lot out of it, but we didn't get much sleep. And we just knew we'd be able to go back to the hotel, get a nap in the afternoon, because he'd have to get 30 stitches. He goes, gets in a car, McCain. They come out 10 minutes later, there's 20 stitches in his head. He goes, boys, let's go.
Emily Compagno
Wow.
Jesse Walters
And Lindsey and I look at each other. You gotta be kidding me. Lindsey Graham, whether you agree with him or not, he, to me, embodied and personified in the Senate today, the person who believe most that relationships in politics should yield real outcomes and that you should work towards them. He never let a slight. He never let yesterday's comments, yesterday's words or actions prevent him from doing something the next day that would make the country better. I think today in politics, we hold to. Lindsey was making this point as well. I mean, Emily was making this point as well about Lindsey. We hold people to these. These unbelievable standards, and we think that there's a perfection of people. There's not a perfection of people. There's not a perfection of legislation. People every day are going to be themselves, and you got to hope that humanity bends itself towards some harmony. And Lindsey, I think, lived his political life and lived his personal life, particularly his political life, trying to create that kind of harmony and humanity through legislation. So he will be missed as a legislator, and I'll miss him as a friend. I'm glad the governor saw fit to appoint his sister to fill the remaining term.
Emily Compagno
All right, so the sister's going to take over until January, but, I mean, the guy will be missed in the Republican Party when you think about. He is in charge of judicial confirmations, appropriations, Pentagon, Ukraine, Iran. What's next?
Tom Shalhou
Well, I think the appointment is a beautiful thing, and I think a lot of people agree with that. I had Trey Gowdy on the show, Former congressman from South Carolina, earlier today said it's the best idea I've seen since electricity. Called it poetic, beautiful. Said that Lindsey Graham would be smiling from heaven to see his beautiful sister Darlene, who he helped start raising at the age of 11 years old when both of their parents passed away just 15 months apart. They've gone through Battles together. They have. They have fiercely lived together. And Stephen Miller was on with Will Keynes just a short time ago, and he noted that he thought that Lindsey Graham was in the most vibrant career of his life. I mean, he was living every day to the fullest. You talk to anybody who was with him every single day, talking about just his passion for this country. And I'll never forget the first time I spent the biggest amount of chunk with Lindsey Graham was back in the earliest days, about numbered Emily. And we had just launched, so April 2014. Right. So then 2015, he's gearing up for his presidential run. June 2015, he made his announcement. He came and sat on the couch for the first time. And I just remember all of my conversations with him on camera, off camera. You. You walked away with this sense of this was a man who truly wanted to see progress for this country. He truly wanted to do the best thing for the American people. I walked away with just this sense of patriotism. I mean, that's not fake with Lindsey Graham. I mean, he really lived that out in his everyday life. Just a. Just an incredible character. We're all going to miss him so much. I just can't even imagine. Can't imagine the Senate without him.
Emily Compagno
And. Quite a character.
Tom Shalhou
Yes.
Sandra Smith
Yeah. I mean, Jesse, he was funny. That's the thing about it. He had a great sense of humor.
Jesse Walters
And do you remember this?
Sandra Smith
He used to fight with Trump. I mean, he ran for president. We all forget 2016. He was on there. He was on the big dais there when they were doing the debates and everything. He fought with Trump because he was a hawk and Trump was really anti war and he would go after him. Trump famously says, I go hard. He went hard at Trump. And do you remember when Trump gave out his phone number on the stump? He said his phone number and everyone wrote it down and they were calling his number. He had to change his phone number. So what did Lindsey Graham do?
Emily Compagno
He.
Sandra Smith
He made a video called how to Destroy youy Phone.
Emily Compagno
And he.
Sandra Smith
He destroyed like 15 phones in the video. He did it with his golf club. He threw it off a roof.
Jesse Walters
He put it on video. It got a lot of, like, I mean, got a lot of views. It was huge.
Sandra Smith
And the funny thing about that was it didn't even make any sense because we all know you can just change your number. You don't have to destroy your phone. But he knew the visual angle on it. He's also very old school in that he went hard against Trump. But then when it's Time to make up. He goes in and makes a deal. Old fashioned politician. He could work across the aisle. And you know, with Trump, it wasn't across the aisle, but you know, he would get into it. And still when Trump in his second term, he was willing to kind of fight with Trump and then make up and try to make a deal. And he's very Trumpian in that way.
Emily Compagno
He is.
Sandra Smith
He did.
Jesse Walters
I want to. He came to visit me one summer. This is 11 years. My daughter would have been 10 years ago. My daughter would have been nine years ago. She was three years old. My son was two. I said, Lindsay, give them, the kids a little message before we go to dinner. And he goes, you'll never see a Social Security check. I said, lindsey, tell him something positive. They play sports. You're from South Carolina. Tell them about the Gamecom. He goes, okay, you'll never see a Social Security check. I mean, that's what I'm going to miss about it. I'm going to miss the politics and being willing to forgive and forget and move on, but forget the humanity of the guy. I will miss him.
Emily Compagno
Yeah, I have some Lindsay stories too, but I'll share those. Coming up next, California's dynamic duo is back. Kamala gives an embarrassing speech to the WNBA while Greasy goes full meltdown on Elon Musk.

As Democratic socialists celebrate their recent primary wins, California's old guard is looking to steal back the spotlight. Kamala Harris showing up at a Los Angeles Sparks WNBA game, delivering a pep talk that some critics called more word salad than winning speech.
Harold Ford Jr.
I travel our country, young girls, boys, people of every gender, background, race, watch the W and understand how inspiring it is. So keep doing what you're doing. It is giving them a sense of
Tom Shalhou
their value and their dignity and what
Harold Ford Jr.
they have a right to expect from this world.
Tom Shalhou
Okay? And California governor Gavin Newsom is trying to get himself out there, going on a midterms road trip tour and trashing his least favorite trillionaire, Elon Musk.
Jesse Walters
I was the first, one of the first Teslas off the line. I've been one of their biggest proponents. Supporters was regulation in California that created the conditions that allowed him to take the risk to become the multibillionaire, maybe trillionaire, that he's become.
Tom Shalhou
Okay, to that in just a moment. Back to Kamala Harris. Emily. So if you're. You're gearing up, you know, getting yourself all geared up to get out, play a big game, hit the floor. Kamala Harris, that, wow, that really went a long way in pumping up those players.
Harold Ford Jr.
I feel like there should be a global policy against having her anywhere near a locker room pre game, because I can think of nothing more deflating than listening to her and what she has to say. Sophie Cut Cunningham did more for the WNBA in her two seconds of being a ring girl at the UFC fight, which was so explosive and awesome, than the vice president. I feel sorry for those women who are actually seeking any type of inspiration from her, but we're not surprised by this. And the unfortunate part to me is that she is still being enlisted as somehow a mouthpiece of the Democrat party, which she continues to flop in all of her speeches. I think fundraising continues to work, which surprises me. But I love this chyron so much because she just whiffs every single time. I don't understand why the fact that her speeches that lack substance, both in policy and actual ignition, continue to be spread throughout. And bringing in Gavin Newsom, too, you know, claiming responsibility for Elon Musk's success, there is nothing worse than people trying to cash in on other people's success when so clearly it was because of his own brains. And it's not because of Gavin Newsom. It's despite him. I mean, I'm one of millions of small family businesses who had to flee California because of the regulations because they were so stifling. So I would love to share with Gavin Newsom, if he has a minute of his time, why my family suffered under his watch, why our small businesses had to close under his watch instead of him thinking he is the reason that Elon Musk's empire thrived.
Tom Shalhou
Yeah, Harold, it sounds like. Like you didn't build that. We've heard that before. I mean, why is there this constant refrain of, you know, demonizing the rich and cutting down those that have been successful?
Jesse Walters
So I look at it a little differently. I thought that first off, I thought that Kamala Harrison, I've been critical of her at times. I thought her speech there was actually not a. Not a bad speech. I mean, she just. The way she delivers it made core. But I thought the substance here, when I've agreed with in the past, when I think she has not been Entirely coherent at times two with Governor Newsom. You know, there's a refrain that says that people in our country who have gained great economic success, business success, have also to thank the public good and the public resources for helping them do it. Elon Musk is certainly benefited as much as any business person has done that.
Sandra Smith
But he is.
Jesse Walters
He's the greatest technologist of our. Of many generations. I have my issues with some of the ways these technology guys go about building companies and building success, unlike some of the great titans of the past who created jobs, contributed heavily to the communities that they did business in. You know, look at some of these companies. They don't necessarily do that. But Elon Musk has every right to move where he wants to move, and the governor has every right to. To make the case that he should not be responsible for that. But what Democrats need to be doing is more what Gavin is doing here. I'm not saying I agree totally with what he's doing, but we need a contest of ideas in our party. We need to figure out whom do we want to be in 2028. I hope it's not socialists. I hope it's not anti America. I hope it's figuring out ways to enlarge the middle class, give more people opportunities to not only make more money, but for their kids to have a belief that the American dream was within reach. We're not there yet.
Sandra Smith
I would agree.
Jesse Walters
But I like where we're headed. I don't. I like where they're headed more so now. Like where some of these socialists, where they want to take the party.
Tom Shalhou
Is this a sign that both of them see themselves still as leaders of the Democrat Party?
Emily Compagno
Jesse, that's why it's so funny. All right, well, Newsom's like the ex girlfriend. You know, when. When the guy breaks up and then makes it big. And then the girl is like, you were nothing when we met. I made you. And he's like, lose my number. But like, that's kind of how it was. Like, so Musk started in California and they gave him all these lavish tax credits and subsidies. And then California went crazy with COVID and trans mania and homeless and the sitting governor was attacking the states most prolific CEO even went after his own child. So then he was like, all right, I'm taking this and I'm going to Texas. And Texas gave him all the goodies too, because every state wants Elon there. He's got 50 women vying for his time. If it wasn't California, it was going to be somebody Else now, Kamala, I'm reading these books with my son. Choose your own adventure. And you know, it's like, turn to page 37. It's like a whole different story. I see this, how close we were to having a woman president. And this is what it would have been like for four years.
Tom Shalhou
Is that because she's Kamala or. Cause she's a woman, Jesse?
Emily Compagno
Both.
Tom Shalhou
Come on.
Emily Compagno
The future is female women empowerment. And anytime I attacked her, I would have been called. I'm afraid of powerful women. And I'm not. I just don't like her very much. So if she wins the presidency, I will make a promise right now. I will self deport. I will self deport probably France. You know how I've recently been. And the only thing that'll make me come back is if Doug has an affair. That will be the most exciting thing that could ever happen to the Kamala Harris presidency that I will fly back for.
Jesse Walters
My wife Emma just texted me and said, would you please call home?
Emily Compagno
Oh, my gosh. Run that fire.
Sandra Smith
Well, I mean, you look at her and you look at that speech and it's ridiculous. We make fun of her all the time and she is a disaster, and it is a word salad. But the thing is, she won't leave. In the old days, politics, if you lost, and she just lost big, all right, it's an embarrassment. She should go off into the sunset. But she doesn't. Because I think politics these days, there is no shame anymore. I'm going back to my earliest races. Mondale. He left. He could have run again. He could have come at it again. He didn't. Al Gore, he walked away, made that stupid movie. John Kerry, he was gone. Mitt Romney. Bye, bye, Mitt. They did. They were dignified enough to know that their time was up and they walked away. She's not going to walk away, though. And that's the thing. What's her book? 107 days. So she's saying, oh, I would have won if not for that 107 day. I had the short campaign. So she. And the thing is, it's going to work for her. She is the front runner. So socialists have a stronger chance because she's such a dud that she's in front of Newsom, Buttigieg, all these other conventional candidates that is going to give the far left a chance to come riding in because they're the only ones who have any excitement. Right? So, yeah, she's a disaster, but it doesn't matter if she won't leave. She's still, she's got the name recognition. She's at the head.
Tom Shalhou
She's leading in the polls now by double digits and some new presidential polling over Gavin Newsom. But Democrats might have to deal with that.
Jesse Walters
You guys know this. The party was outside the White House when Obama was in meant the Republicans in 2014, which is the equivalent time of the second term. The front runner was Jeb Bush and Joe Biden's term, the front runner at this time and his term was Ron DeSantis.
Tom Shalhou
You really don't want Kamala Harris. No, no.
Jesse Walters
But I just don't. I think, I think we're going to have a contest of ideas. And if she wins that contest of ideas, bless her heart, but you got
Emily Compagno
to win the win a contest of ide.
Jesse Walters
Okay, your wife is texting me again.
Emily Compagno
Why does my wife have yourself. All right.
Tom Shalhou
Thank you very much. Meanwhile, we've got this FOX News alert for you right now. US Central Command announcing that the US has launched a third consecutive night of strikes against Iran at President Trump's direction. CENTCOM now says that these strikes will continue to impose a heavy cost on Iranian forces and degrade its their ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. We're going to have more on this breaking news when we return. You and me belong together like cold.
Sandra Smith
I
Emily Compagno
Keep your electric out.
Harold Ford Jr.
Of the.
Sandra Smith
FOX News alert. Just moments ago, U.S. central Command announcing fresh new airstrikes against Iran for the third consecutive night. US Strikes are reportedly against Iranian military targets, coastal surveillance systems, drone and missile capabilities. This comes after previous airstrikes and after President Trump declared America as the guardian of the Hormuz Strait and will reinstate the Iranian blockade and slap a 20% fee tomorrow. Here's the president elaborating more on FOX and Friends.
Jesse Walters
We're going to keep the strait and we'll probably run it. We'll become the guardian of the strait. Maybe we'll call it the Guardian angel of the Strait. And we should be reimbursed for that. When we do that, we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are very wealthy. They're on our side. And we can't be expected to do that for nothing, unlike we had for many years.
Sandra Smith
Okay, Emily, Guardian angel of the Strait, do you like the ring of that?
Harold Ford Jr.
I love the ring of it. I think the important question is whether it's successful. Look, I think a lot of Americans feel a measure of exhaustion about this and in the details and the question everyone is asking is what is success and when can we breathe easily, that gas prices are stable, oil prices are stable, and that our troops are safe, that the commander in chief is secure also in his safety as he's talked about the umpteenth assassination plot against him. So we are now privy to a media coverage that gives us details and play by plays every day and every hour. Now, we're in the third night in a row that American forces are striking Iran, deservedly so. But I know many Americans think essentially, why are we negotiating? Why are we negotiating with terrorists here? So a lot of people support, clearly there's a ton of economic options, military options that remain. And I think many people support a lot of these military options so that it can be finally done.
Sandra Smith
That's right. And Jesse, people are saying, why are we negotiating with these people? But the thing is, wasn't that baked into the negotiations originally? They had to make these touchstones. They had to move along and they had to meet the demands of the United States to get the agreement. So this is what the hawk. The hawk said, let's go in and finish the job. And then the people who wanted to make the deal said, look, if they don't agree to what we're proposing here, then we're going to have to hit them again. That's what's happening. Everyone knew this was going to happen.
Emily Compagno
That's why they structured the deal like that. And they violated it. They said they wouldn't clip tankers, they wouldn't toll. They did both. So for the last three nights, it's been more than a love tap. Trump's been calling it a bitch slap. Heavy airstrikes all along the southern coastline. And the President, I think, has run out of patience. He gave peace a chance. They violated the terms of the sheet they signed. So the blockade's back, the sanctions are back, and I think you're going to see possibly a resumption of major combat operations. We'll see. We still have two carriers there. We still have 15 warships there. The southern route along the Oman coast is wide open. It's free under an American security umbrella. Ships are getting out. But what's happened is the decapitation strikes in the first couple weeks of this operation were so devastating, we basically fractured their leadership. So the people that signed this thing, they're just the politicians, the people with the guns, the military, they're seeing their power slipping away if they have peace and they're seeing their money dry up. So they're trying to toll, they're trying to get a Little action. But this is a big miscalculation because Trump has had it.
Sandra Smith
Harold, how else do you deal with these guys? Did you see their latest. I call it a hit list. They said it's their revenge list. Macron is number one. Starmer and Trump, he listed all three of those. Okay, the Iranians did. But Macron and Starmer, they're not exactly hawks. They want to make a deal. They want to be conciliatory. So they're. But they still. They want revenge on them as well. How else is Trump supposed to deal with Iran?
Jesse Walters
Well, as I've said many times and many evenings on the show, the President should stop talking and just start acting. We have been threatening to obliterate them to. The President uses all kinds of very strong action verbs on truth, social to say what he's going to do if they don't do certain things I've been a proponent for. If we're going to engage in negotiations and engage in dialogue with them, we should continue to do this. We should have never stopped doing this. I think we lost some ground over the last several weeks when it was clear that they were violating the Memorandum of understanding and it was clear that the Strait of Hormuz was not fully open. Now, I would remind everybody several months ago, when the President began talking about military strikes, a lot of the time was because of the economic strife there in Iran. You may recall there was a run on a bank. There were people out protesting, thousands of people out protesting, and the Iranians were firing on the people. And the President said, you're not going. Our President said, you're not going to fire on those people. We're going to come to help. We started our military operation, and the President that same evening said, people in Iran should rise up and take their country back. We are here to be helpful. Iran is the size of a couple Californias. It's not like you couldn't even attack Meatpacking district in New York City and tell people on the Upper east side to rise up. This is. This was not realistic in so many ways. We fast forward, we talked about nuclear material eliminating their ballistic missile capability, the ability to strike, and then the Strait of Hormuz has now become the primary objective. I hope the President continues to do this, but I hope he gives us a speech because I think the country needs to understand. And Emily was touching on it in many parts of what she said at the outset. Are we continuing this effort because we want to. We want to eliminate their nuclear capabilities. We want to eliminate their ability to Fire ballistic missiles. We want to eliminate their ability to fund proxies, or we want the Strait of Hormuz open. It's my hunch now that it's about the straight of Hormuz, because if you get the Strait of Hormuz open, you're able to calm global markets, you're able to calm prices here in the country. And what we have to realize is that the Iranians, as I've said many times on the show, they read the art of the deal, too. They've watched the president, and they also have a real good hint that we have elections coming up in November. So they're going to continue to do this, especially if they believe the American people don't fully know what our objective is here, and if they believe the American people might be a little wobbly because gas prices are creeping back up again.
Tom Shalhou
Just to add to that, it's to, it's to. It's about the Strait of Hormuz, but to also cut off Iran economically, which a lot of the experts we have on the air every day, Dan Hoffman and others say you've got to choke them off. You've got to choke them off economically. And according to that state statement from Central Command, they said these strikes will continue, imposing a heavy cost on Iranian forces and degrade their ability to attack innocent civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait. That being said, just looking at oil markets, which now are around the clock, oil up about 9% right now. So that's a pretty big reaction. Although still below $80 a barrel, rated about 78 right now. This says gas prices have been coming down. President Trump's efforts, if you've heard him in the past 24 hours, continue to be to instill confidence in the markets that this is going to open, that this will remain open. So to your point, Harold, his focus has and always has been on the Strait of Hormuz. Why a fifth of the world's oil supply moves through there. I mean, the world depends on the oil that moves through there and the commercial shipping that moves through there every single day. So this is the fifth round. I don't know. This is a fifth round in a week. We just saw the letter from the White House notifying Congress. This is, this is, you know, obviously escalation, additional action on the part of the White House.
Sandra Smith
I am so much smarter than I was when this segment started. Coming up, James Carver blowing a gasket over his party's radical wing as the Democrats face their next socialist test in Michigan.
Harold Ford Jr.
Well, Democrats are quickly heading for Their next socialist showdown, and this time it's in Michigan's August 4th Senate primary. Far left radical Abdul El Sayed is running on a platform packed with the left's biggest priorities. Medicare for all, abolishing ice, you name it. But honesty might be his Achilles heel. El Sayed is taking heat after denying his past support for defunding the police, only to be confronted with his own record on CNN Watch.
Jesse Walters
So why did you say you never
Emily Compagno
call for defunding the police when it sounded like you did in the past?
Jesse Walters
I go as far as defining what I mean by that.
Emily Compagno
Do you disagree with investing in libraries and public services and social services?
Jesse Walters
You fixate on the word defund.
Emily Compagno
But what I'm talking about is war material that we made too much of during the war in Iraq. And then because we had too much
Jesse Walters
of it, we had to find somewhere to sell it.
Emily Compagno
So we sold it to a whole bunch of local police departments.
Harold Ford Jr.
But there's at least one Democrat pumping the brakes on the party's socialist shift. James Carville is raging against the radicals. His party much.
Emily Compagno
These people are so stupid. Is there a solution to beat Republicans,
Jesse Walters
to run against Republicans?
Sandra Smith
No.
Emily Compagno
Their solution is to beat Democrats.
Jesse Walters
Like they're part of the problem. No, you are part of the problem because you're a idiot.
Harold Ford Jr.
Do you agree with him?
Jesse Walters
Hold.
Sandra Smith
James.

Carlos. So I think that. I think James has a strong theory of the case, and he expresses it equally strong the. The race in Michigan, since that's what we're talking about. There is no doubt, this contest of ideas that I tried to talk about at the presidential level, we're seeing it play out, I think, as plainly and as enthusiastically as any other Senate primary. Senate Democratic primary. I hope Haley Stevens wins that race. I think that not just because I think she would be a better candidate in the fall, but because I think she'd be a better senator. I like her ideas. I think when you. When you organize your campaign around abolishing law enforcement organizations that you have a disagreement with, but you don't look at the premise of what the organization is doing. I don't disagree that ICE needs to be reformed. We may differ on that, but we shouldn't abolish it. I don't believe you should defund the police. Who do you call if there's a crime committed in your neighborhood? I listened to the young man's answer and it didn't. It wasn't. It didn't make sense to me. He has every right to have those ideas, and Democrats have every right to Vote against them. I give him some credit. He didn't. He went out, right out and said, look, this is what I said and this is what I want to do with the money. And I differ with him. And I think they're going to be a majority of Democrats in Michigan who agree with me.
Harold Ford Jr.
Jesse, we've covered for as long as the Democrat Party has been, you know, eroding left, we've been covering the center voices of rationality sort of that represent their party. Like, for example, Rahm Emanuel coming out and saying, stop talking about boys in the locker room. Talk about economics. But it seems like no one in the party is listening. So even if reasonable heads are out there, they will probably not prevail when
Emily Compagno
the most reasonable head is Carville. You guys have a lot of problems. Have you ever noticed that every time he speaks, he's either in front of a liquor cabinet or in a bed? Liquor cabinet, bed. I've never seen him anywhere else. I think he just goes from one to the other. And that's fine. It's fine. We all did that in college. The Abdul, the Muslim Communist. He wants to run for senator. Senator in Michigan. This is not Vermont. This is a state Trump has won two times, although he would probably argue he's one at three. I don't think this guy can swing it in a state like Michigan. If you're one of these other communists in a deep blue district here, you can get away with defunding and all that, but this guy has to lie. And the other people just have to lie less. But you got Muslim communists. You have Ugandan mayors. You have the Dominican vegan, the Ethiopian barista. But it's spreading. Whites now are following along. They call that suicidal empathy. You know what I'm talking about? Gad sad two ways. I got attacked again. Another bagel incident. Getting a bagel. Remember the last time the crazy woman called me names, harassed me? I acted classy, didn't touch her. Another time, white guy, six two, taller than me. I'm six. One comes up to me, looks totally normal. Usually when white guys come up to me, I'm like, what's up? This guy looks me in the eye. Racist. You're ruining the country for money. And then takes pictures. Everyone around me is like, who the hell is this? So we need to chill, all right? We cannot go down this path anymore. I recommend drinking as much as James Carville. That seems to be making more sense.
Harold Ford Jr.
I hope Emma tased him as she wasn't there yet. All right?
Tom Shalhou
There's a reason why Carville's freaking out because clearly we're seeing what is a radical socialist takeover of the Democrat Party. And Democrats like James Carville, who don't want to see that happen, are speaking up and speaking loudly. I'll just say this. As far as solutions, I think Democrats are going to be in a very precarious position if they don't start addressing the very things they're so critical of, of Republicans, of the current White House, of the current policies that are being enacted. If you're not pointing out how you're going to fix the problem, you're not giving anything to voters to vote for. And I think that could be a problem for Democrats the next couple months.
Sandra Smith
Look, there's nothing you can do. James Carville, the people who run these campaigns, they're not calling Carville for his expert advice. That's why he's ranting into his webcam. They don't want Carville. They're. They're setting him in one of those Cajun boats with the big fan on the back and pushing him out onto the swamp. They don't want him anymore. They let them in. And you see the people talking about like, you know, Gavin Newsom says, well, you know, they have a lot of energy. This is where the energy in the party is. It's like it's the energy to replace you. He didn't even realize it. It's like Lord of the Rings and the orcs are storming through the gates and the men are like, these guys have a lot of energy. Maybe we can work with them.
Harold Ford Jr.
My favorite reference. All right, guys, coming up next, have you heard about this? Grandpa got run over by a baby.
Jesse Walters
Welcome back. Always respect wildlife. You're looking at this terrifying moment at Yellowstone when a massive bison charged a grandpa and his grandson. Taking photos, seeing the poor 65 year old mania go flying eight feet in the air. It happened during mating season. An eyewitness say the man was standing a safe distance away. Grandpa was injured and hospitalized but is now recovering well. It was mating. That's what happens. Your thoughts, Jesse, about this?
Emily Compagno
Oh, the bison was horny. That's what we're saying. That's why he did it. That's no excuse. You've been horny. You haven't gone air cartwheeled. Old men taking photos. Come on, Harold. And by the way, is this guy Japanese? Is he Japanese? Because it's usually the Japanese tourists taking pictures. They're the ones that get flipped around. I expected more from a local.
Sandra Smith
He is. He's a real Local. This guy, he's a hero though. I love the guy. Yes. He was joking around as he lay there. He had broken bones.
Emily Compagno
Look at that.
Sandra Smith
Look at. They ought to. Whoever makes those suspenders, they ought to do a commercial and say, look at this. They didn't even come loose, Harry.
Jesse Walters
They're taking pictures of this thing mating. And I think the guy got mad. Emily, what do you. What do you think?
Harold Ford Jr.
Well, for mechanics, I really appreciate. Like, look at how he would actually get good points for that in a chair. Palm competition to start with. Legs together and then out. Like he had good angles. We're only doing this because he's okay. Otherwise this would have been frightening. One time, semi recently, across the pond, there was this male geese that I saw protecting his female geese that was on her nest. He was attacking every human and dog that walked by. It was like, they are massively aggressive when they're protecting.
Emily Compagno
Where you saying this guy was taking video of the bison making love?
Jesse Walters
That's what that. I was reading what was in the thing.
Emily Compagno
That's the video I want to see. Oh, my God, yes, I do.
Jesse Walters
They said it was mating.
Sandra Smith
It's mating season, so they're more aggressive. But he was, he actually was keeping a good distance. I've been in Yellowstone and people go too close to these bison, but this guy was not misbehaving. He kept his distance. The bison was very aggressive.
Tom Shalhou
Okay, So I had the photographer who took the video on my show today and he was obviously filming the bison and then caught all this on camera. Sort of magic. The grandfather said he's okay. He has some broken bones. Naturally, you would think the first thing he said when he. Somebody got over to him was, my grandson. Okay. And you're kind of like, oh, so I hope he's okay. Grandson's okay.
Jesse Walters
But they said, they said the guy's okay though, right?
Tom Shalhou
Yeah, so far. But some critical injuries.
Harold Ford Jr.
The kid is probably trying.
Jesse Walters
One more thing is up next.
Emily Compagno
It's time now for one more thing. Let's go around the world. Wrong. Nowhere close to Southeast Asia. We're going to Spain. Speaking of the bulls, running of the bulls. These guys don't need a reason. They're not trying to take pictures of mating season. They're just damn crazy. Tonight, Jesse Waters, primetime. Johnny was at the beach for summer break. Watch midterms are coming up. What's going to happen?
Tom Shalhou
Midterms?
Harold Ford Jr.
We haven't even started the first semester yet,
Emily Compagno
Harold.
Jesse Walters
Wow. A long overdue honor for true American hero Glenn Fisher, 99 year old World War II veteran wounded by German artillery in 1945, has finally received his Purple Heart after recording era delayed the award for more than 80 years. Fisher said he was so excited for the ceremony, he could not sleep. And now, just months before his 100th birthday, America finally gets to say, thank you, sir.
Harold Ford Jr.
God bless you. God bless you.
Tom Shalhou
God bless him. Thank you, Sandra. Well, we've got a goat goat named Goldie. Colorado firefighters were offered some moral support as they fought a forest fire. Check this out. The goat guided the smoke jumpers to save her path through the woods and did her part to help battle the blaze by munching on leaves along the way that would have otherwise caught fire. When the firefighters left, she chased down their truck to say goodbye.
Emily Compagno
Very well said, Emily.
Harold Ford Jr.
All right, guys, after six years of helping to keep the happiest place on earth safe, this is Disneyland. Security dog Benny officially retiring, enjoying it with his first hot dog. Thank you for your service, Benny. We love you.
Emily Compagno
All right, enjoy the links, Benny.
