Five years ago, the US Brought leaders from Israel, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain together to sign the Abraham Accords. I'm Megan Alexander and this is Middle east. Tomorrow go to partners.foxnews.com met.
B
Hello, everyone. I'm dana along perino. That would be kayleigh mcenany, jessica tarlov, jesse waters and joey jones are here today. It's five o' clock in new york city and this is the five. And we have breaking news out of Minnesota. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino and some, but not all of his agents are leaving Minneapolis as soon as tomorrow. This comes as Tom Homan makes his way to the state. And we are going to have much more on that in just a moment. America getting walloped as a historic and deadly winter storm steamrolls across the country. The let's go to FOX weather's Kiana Lewis with an update on where we stand now. I know a lot of flights are canceled.
C
Oh, a lot of flights are canceled. Good afternoon to you all there at THE Five. This is a look at how the power outages have been shaping up so far today. That's one of the other problems that we've seen out of this massive storm. More than 600,000 power outages at the moment. And Tennessee actually topping that list right now because they've seen a lot of the ice concerns with some of these ice totals coming in over an inch in some places. So that's one of the big issues that we've been watching kind of play out there across Tennessee. You'll also notice that as we head into the next couple of days or so, cold temperatures are going to be the big issue across parts of the South. Tennessee, back towards Mississippi into Louisiana as well as even back towards, say, Georgia could see some of these cold temperatures take place, too. So that's going to be one of the other issues that we watch place out. We have some record cold air that's going to come moving in over the next couple of days and that beyond that, we are going to be watching for an opportunity of these cold temperatures to continue to take shape as we head into the middle of the week. So diving back into those cold temperatures, we have more than 150 million Americans that are under some type of alert. The reason being is that these temperatures are going to drop to the teens and they will feel like single digits heading into tomorrow morning. So yet another cold morning ahead of us. Dallas, here's a look at your temperatures going through the weekend. We continue with those lows that will also be dropping to the teens there as well.
B
Kiana, thank you so much. And you all have done great work for everybody. Thank you. And now back to the breaking news out of Minnesota. So multiple federal sources are telling Fox News that Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino and some of his agents are going to leave Minneapolis as soon as tomorrow. This is Tom Homan makes his way to the state. That was the president earlier today telling everybody that he was going to send Tom Homan there. Also, President Trump had a phone call today with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz calling on the governor to hand over all the criminal illegal aliens. But Walz claims his state honors all immigration detainers. Here's Caroline Levitt. She was in the briefing room earlier today. This tragedy occurred as a result of a deliberate and hostile resistance by Democrat leaders in Minnesota.
A
Governor Waltz and Mayor Fry have shamefully.
B
Blocked local and state police from cooperating with ice, actively inhibiting efforts to arrest violent criminals. They have also used their platforms to encourage left wing agitators to stalk, record, confront and obstruct federal officers who were just trying to lawfully perform their duties. This is precisely what unfolded in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.
A
Obstructing federal law enforcement and inciting violence.
B
Against officers is wrong and illegal. Just yesterday, Governor Walz compared immigration enforcement in Minnesota to the Holocaust.
D
We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside.
E
Many of us grew up reading that.
D
Story of Anne Franklin. Somebody's going to write that children's story about Minnesota.
B
Okay, so a little hyperbole there. Tomorrow is actually Holocaust Remembrance Day, so who knows what he'll come up with by then. But Jesse, the president also put out a true social statement saying that they had a good call and that they have some sort of way forward, hopefully. And maybe the Border Patrol leaving. If that happens to turn out to be the case, maybe that's one of the steps forward.
D
I'm very glad. Walls called the White House and they're both using the same word, which is cooperation. And that's all we've ever asked for. Hopefully we can just dial things back. We can get some cooperation and people aren't needing to get hurt. He's not telling the truth, though, about the state. State corrections only cooperates after an illegal has been convicted and served their sentence. The city jails and the county jails do not cooperate and they release dangerous illegal criminals into the streets. And that's why ICE is having to conduct these dangerous manhunts. But both sides need to change tactics. The governor of Minnesota is in open rebellion. He has called ICE agents, Nazis. He's told the people to get in their face and to kick them out of the state. And now it's like a low level insurgency. There's very sophisticated communication tactics. There's like food drops, there's supply chains. It's crazy. They have stormed into churches, they have broken into hotels, they've looted cars, they've lit fires, they've kicked, they've bit off fingers. Federal immigration, police. So it's out of control. And now they're aiding and abetting dangerous foreign nationals who are fugitives from justice. And what ICE needs to do in order to change tactics is stick and move. You're sitting ducks for six weeks and you have no backup from feds, and you have no backup from the locals. And you've announced to the entire country that you are in Minneapolis. You don't need to do that. You need to be more stealthy. Sticking like a boxer does not stand in the middle of the ring with his hands down and just gets hit. And just gets hit. Or even. Tyson had head movement, okay? He had defense. He can hit hard, but you move away. That's what they need to start doing. The guy who brings a loaded firearm concealed into a dangerous fugitive operation is crazy. You do not bring a loaded gun and start violently and physically resisting and obstructing a manhunt. Okay? Anybody who knows have a concealed permit and some guy is confronting you as federal enforcement, you say, here are my hands. I have a loaded weapon on me. And you wait for further instruction. You do not actively physically resist. Now, now you watch the video and it's very, very chaotic. It may have looked like they might have disarmed this guy during the scuffle. You have whistles blowing. You can't hear anything. You hear gun, gun, gun, gun, gun. You know the guy. Anytime guy says, gun, gun, gun, and the subject pulls his arm back, you don't know if he's reaching. So obviously they're going to be doing a big investigation. They're going to find out what happened. We're going to look at the body cam. But it is not a clear cut situation and it's very divisive. It's partisan the way they're reacting to it. And hopefully, if every side change tactics, we can move forward and do what the American people have told the President to do, which is get these criminal illegals out of the country.
B
But it was the reaction to the chaos that you're watching right there on the screen. Jessica, I know you want to weigh in. That led to the President making this announcement today that Tom Homan is going to Minnesota. And now the Border Patrol is leaving.
E
Right.
A
The president was forced to make that decision because what happened to Alex Preddy, that he was murdered, was not divisive and was not partisan. It was clear as day. And there are video analyses up in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have both done incredible reporting on this that you can see clearly that an agent had taken his gun already. I think it's the one wearing the black coat. Then you have the guy with the gray coat. After the guy is shot, you already get 10 bullets in him, even though his hands were up. He had his phone in one hand, which you're allowed to do. You're allowed to video the other one, like this close, crouched over. And then you hear another guy going, where's the gun?
F
Where's the gun?
A
Well, shouldn't you know that before you kill somebody? It takes a lot.
E
No, you should.
A
It takes a lot. The NRA and Greg Abbott and other major conservative forces in this country against the Trump administration and the way they're doing immigration enforcement, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment and the Fourth Amendment have all been violated by the way that they are carrying this out. And people saw it clear as day, and that's why they responded this way. And the president, who I think most of the time has better instincts than Stephen Miller or Kristi Noem, could see this for what it was and knows that there has to be a change in course. But this rush to come out and say, again, like Renee Good, that he's a domestic terrorist, you're rushing, too.
F
You've arrived at a conclusion before an.
A
Investigation based on watching all of the video and the President.
F
Have you seen the body cam video? I was unaware you had the.
A
You know what? It's going to exonerate all the agents. You're completely right. Seeing Stephen Miller saying an assassin tried to murder federal agents, and this is your response and JD Vance retweeting it says something about what where this administration is and how they're considering it before and after the murder of Alex Preddy. And this will go down in history as a turning point for this. Greg Bovino wouldn't be leaving tomorrow if an innocent person wasn't killed. And the double standards that are being employed for how you have to behave versus how these agents have to behave is mind boggling to me. Kyle Rittenhouse was a conservative hero, right, for walking into a protest, actually brandishing a weapon. But this guy who had a legal permit to carry and already had had his gun removed to some people I guess is some sort of instigator when he was actually going to help a woman who had been pushed down and tear gassed by ice. We have the right to protest. That should be upheld and respected. And it is not being. They were not.
F
Did you call for an investigation after Renee Good? You did?
A
Yeah. Well, yeah, after.
F
So are you calling for an investigation now or are you just stating a conclusion because it seems like you've arrived at a conclusion before an investigation.
A
I'm saying that Jesse said this isn't a vice. This is divisive and it's partisan and it's not.
F
I don't know. I think it is irresponsible to call someone a domestic terrorism before. Before you have the facts.
A
So you agree with me?
F
I agree with you on that.
A
But here's the advance of all man mistakes.
F
We've listened for two minutes. You are no different than Kristi Noem. Kristi Noem came out and said domestic terrorists. You are coming out and saying murderer. When you say murder, you are calling those six agents murderers before you have the facts. The responsible way to handle this is to say one, it is a tragedy anytime a US citizen dies. It is a tragedy that Renee Goode died. It is a tragedy that Alex Preddy died. Number two, we call for an investigation because we don't arrive at conclusions. We don't call people domestic terrorists who were killed before. Investigations disagree with the administration on that. So too. So too does President Trump. And on Renee Good.
A
Well, he didn't, Renee.
F
But you are not calling for an investigation. You are retracting into partisan talking points by coming out and calling these guys murderers. We don't know the facts. A responsible thing is an investigation. President Trump has been the most responsible person in all of this. Today Caroline was asked what do you say when Kristi Noem says there was maximum damage? And he said they said Trump wants an investigation and to let the facts lead. What do you think about calling them domestic terrorists? I have not heard Donald J. Trump characterize Alex Preddy that way. Donald Trump is responsible. You know who's not? Walls. I was on the airwave when this broke. 11:03am The White House called Walls. They were trying to defuse this. Walls comes out and says thousands of violent, untrained officers are out in Minnesota. One responsible party, the president. Did those underneath him act irresponsibly? Yes. But Walls and Donald Trump don't even put them in the same camp. Donald Trump's leading you are no different. I'm sorry, than Kristi Noemi.
E
Real quick, as the one person who carries a gun just about every single day I'm not in this city. And the one person that's been in a similar situation holding a gun while people are riding and perhaps the one person who understands, I don't know, I don't want to say the one someone here who understands this a little bit because I've been in that situation. There's a couple of things. Number one, the Second amendment is a right. I'm a second Amendment absolutist. You have the right to carry a weapon to defend yourself, not the privilege. It is a right. Those rights come with restrictions. I think you would understand that more than anyone at this table. One of those restrictions is you have to have your ID and your permit on you. We don't know. Current reports are he didn't have either one of those on, at which point he's not carrying legally. But number two, even beyond that, with the right to carry a firearm comes the responsibility to do it correctly and to do it with foresight and to do it understanding the situation you're walking into and what could happen once you get there. Just about every state offers a class on that. And if you carry your firearm, you should take that class. And if your state charges you for it, you should go protest for that class to be taxpayer funded because it is a right. So that's important. We can talk about policy all day long. There's only one person in this world that could have absolutely prevented Alex Priddy from getting shot that day. And it's Alex Priddy. Doesn't mean I think he should have been shot. I don't think it was necessary whatsoever to shoot Alex Priddy to save a life. But I get to watch that incident from behind Alex Priddy, not as one of the arresting officers and not as potentially the person that I believe from looking at the video, did shoot him. Why does he have 10 rounds in him? Because if you have to shoot anybody once, you better shoot them enough to kill him. Because if you're shooting somebody, you think they're trying to kill you. Every police officer in this country is taught that if you want to change that, go lobby to have it changed. Why was he shot? He was shot because of the reasonableness clause, the reasonableness doctrine. The Supreme Court decided this, which is the fact that if you are a police officer conducting police work and someone has, and it's explicitly outlined, someone has resisted arrest, violently or not, disobeyed orders and Shown the means to harm you, then you have the ability to protect yourself. Now, do I think he should have been shot? No. Because I see 10 things that happened before that happened that could have been handled differently. But what I don't see are the 10 minutes before that happened. You call him a protester, I call him an agitator. He showed up with a cell phone. He showed up in the middle of the street in the middle of an operation. That's common sense. I don't care what your passions are to carry a weapon on your person and to get in the middle of a police operation, whether you believe it or not, that is lawful 100%. Another way it could have been prevented is if there was a police cordon from Minneapolis Police Department stopping people from like Alex Priddy from getting in the middle of the operation rather than holding a sign and speaking loudly and proudly from 100ft away. That is the end of the story. There might even be a federal agent that goes to jail because some jury or a federal investigation decides he acted prematurely or shot him and shouldn't have that. I'm not arguing or disputing that because I haven't seen the investigation. But I know for a fact Alex Briddie had no business where he was in that moment. I know for a fact that he did resist arrest. And if you are carrying lawfully, the moment you resist arrest, you are now carrying unlawfully to the point that in the state of Minnesota, you. Your carry permit is revoked in that moment. So the point here is, nobody's condemned in this other than the politicians that let it happen. And if for you, that's Donald Trump, and if for you, that's Tim Waltz, as an American citizen, I'm glad both of them talk today. This doesn't ever need to happen again. Border Patrol agents need to get to the border and do their job. Minneapolis police department, all 600 of them, if they need to, need to be there to help. I surgically distract people like. What's his name, Jose Huerta Chuma, who is violent. Rap sheet that includes domestic assault involving intentional bodily harm. I don't care who you are in this country, but if you're willing to risk your life for that person, whatever happens to you, my sympathy goes down quite a bit. I don't want anybody to get hurt. I love people. I even love bad people. But for God's sake, have some common sense. That's your responsibility, especially if you're carrying a weapon. And that was not exercised, and I can't help that.
B
Okay, let's get going to the rest of the show. Coming up, Democrats adding to the chaos in Minnesota by vowing to shut down the entire government once again.
A
Hi, I'm Megan Alexander and this is Middle East Tomorrow. Five years ago, the US Brought leaders from Israel, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain together to sign the Abraham Accords. That historic day ignited a cross border movement of change makers who are joining forces to reshape the region. Join me as I uncover the stories of the people transforming the Middle east today and tomorrow. Go to partners.foxnews.com met.
E
Welcome back. Breaking news, Trump announcing Tom Homan will be meeting with Jacob Fry tomorrow. As if the chaos in Minneapolis wasn't enough, Democrats are ready to take it nationwide. Chuck Schumer is threatening another government shutdown unless Homeland Security funding, including billions for ice, is stripped from a funding package. And now more than half of the House Democrats back an impeachment push against DHS chief Kristi Noemi.
D
ICE needs to be abolished.
E
It cannot be reformed.
D
And Christian Noah must be impeached.
A
Are you prepared to vote against DHS funding if it means partially shutting down the government?
D
Well, I'm not giving ICE or Border Patrol another dime. Have to pull that lever.
A
That's the lever we have at this moment in time.
D
Christine Noem, frankly, should go. I can't vote for a bill that.
E
Includes ICE funding under these circumstances. We need to impeach.
B
We have a bill about funding them.
D
Giving them more money. I'm not voting for that. Noem's gotta go.
E
Dana, I understand they're pulling the levers they have in front of them. They've already given ICE $75 million for the next four years. They're not gonna, if anything, they're not defunding ICE.
B
So the Democrats have really painted themselves into a corner here. One of the things Chuck Schumer needs to be able to show his people is that they can get achievable wins, right? That they could advance the ball down the field, get the first down and get there so that they can figure out a way to like survive the midterms or as he hopes to try to take back the Senate. Right now, though, he has to look at the activists online base and they are saying shut down the government. No more money for ice. But nobody in the Democratic Party can explain to the activists that you've already funded ice through 2029. So if you shut down the government on Friday because you don't want to give Department of Homeland Security any more money, well, you can take FEMA Money away from people in the middle of a snowstorm. If you want, you could take money away from the TSA when people are trying to escape the snowstorm, when we've got 22,000 canceled flights today. Like, you could try that. And they might be just crazy enough to do it.
E
Jesse, it's almost like Tim Waltz is the leader of the Democrat Party right now, because whatever deal he makes with Trump might decide how they handle this in Congress.
D
I mean, and he's the dumbest Democrat they have, and he's out in front. I would just pull him back. He's already leaving. You're going to get a new person in there, and they'll probably cooperate, and you can send your agents back in and do the job he's supposed to do. This is what the Democrats did. They worked with cartels and the third World to have the greatest human trafficking operation in world history poured in the United States, 20 million. And then they harbor them in these sanctuary cities and then riot when you can't come pick them up, and then blackmail us and say, we're going to shut down the government if you keep arresting criminal illegal aliens in our towns. That's insane. Donald Trump has reduced illegal immigration and violent crime to century low levels. And the Democrat response is violence and blackmail. That is absolute craziness. Shutting down the government did not work very well last time. The defunding the police did not work very well last time. I don't know why they're doing it, but here's a reason. It's about power. The census is already going to strip away a bunch of electoral votes from the Democrats based on population next time. All right, so they're facing that they could still win the blue wall and not win the election next time. And Donald Trump has suctioned up 10,000 illegals out of Minneapolis already, which basically takes away a congressional district. So they're fighting for everything because this is about survival. And if you reduce immigration, you reduce the welfare scams that they able to kick back into their political war chests, and the offspring of the immigrants vote Democrat 2 to 1. That's what they're fighting for. That's why it's so violent.
E
Jessica, what is it exactly that Democrats want in order to pass this bill? Do they want ICE defunded? They want a bill without any ICE funding at all. What is it that they want?
A
Well, they want, and I mean, it's a lot of minutiae, but they want it split up in the minibus bill, put into essentially five separate sections so that you could actually get your hands on money that would be going towards ICE specifically versus other parts of DHS that you do want funded because you want FEMA funded and you want TSA funded. And in some cases, you want Customs and Border, Border Patrol funded. I don't think the Democrats will be out alone on this. I mean, Rand Paul pointed out, as Dana did as well, that a lot of the ICE funding has already gone through. But there are a lot of Republicans who are very upset with the way ICE is doing their job. Rand Paul has called for big investigations into this. Kristi Noem will be testifying before the judiciary, I think, on March 3rd.
B
Are they going to shut down the government for five weeks?
A
No, no, no. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying this idea that it's only Democrats that are upset about this is preposterous. And Jesse says, you know, you're getting violent because you're so upset that we're picking up violent criminals. There will be a full investigation. Kelly is right about that. But what people saw this weekend with Alex Preddy wasn't picking up a violent criminal. That's not what they saw with Renee. Good. That's not what they've seen with over.
D
Saying that the operation to seize this guy from Ecuador wanted for battery. You're saying that's not true.
A
That the. The people.
D
You're saying that's not the operation that they were conducting.
A
The people who we are watching in ICE are either untrained to be doing this job, which is what Brian o', Hara, Minneapolis Police Chief Renee, Good for the first.
E
Okay.
D
The guy. The guy had been ordered years in ice. Well, and another eight years in Border.
A
Patrol was not armed. It was down on his knees. That's what we do know from looking at the video footage right now. You have 46% of Americans that are saying to abolish ICE. That's gone up 20 points since June alone. You have stories like Target employees who are American citizens getting picked up while they're at work. You like, it's not what you're saying that it is. If they were all bad hombres, people would be sitting back and okay with it.
F
This could be ended today.
D
Hand them over.
F
Just so Chuck Schumer. Oh, go ahead.
E
No, go ahead.
F
Chuck Schumer wants to end this. Well, let's end it. Here's how you end it. You don't shut down the government. You shut down the government and you lose politically. You achieve nothing. We see what happened with the last government shutdown. It achieved Nothing. The Obamacare subsidies still have not passed. So the only thing you achieved is the hopefuls in the Democratic Party getting mad at you after Gavin Newsom calling you pathetic. And the deal pathetic, booted judge, a bad deal. JB Pritzker, this is not a deal. It's an empty promise. That was the criticism Chuck Schumer and the establishment got. You want to end this now? Do what Donald Trump has asked. End sanctuary city jurisdictions, CBP and ice, who I think very highly of the great work that they do protecting children, people who have committed sexual assault crimes against kids. You are right in that they are not trained to handle crowd control. This is where police come in. This is where law enforcement comes in. And when you have a sanctuary city jurisdiction that doesn't allow local law enforcement to work with ICE, to work with Border Patrol, what do you get? 60% of violent interactions, 60% have taken place more than that in New York City, Minneapolis, Los Angeles. What's the commonality? These are blue jurisdictions. Allow police to work with ICE and border Patrol and sanctuary city jurisdictions. I guarantee you, you will not see this happen again.
E
Yeah, it's so. Title 2, Chapter 19 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances specifically prohibits any city assets from being used for immigration enforcement. So there you go. All right, Coming up, forget Coachella. The trumpapalooza midterms convention is coming to a town near you.
A
This is Ainsley Earhart. Thank you for joining me for the 52 episode podcast series the Life of Jesus.
D
A listening experience that will provide hope, comfort and understanding of the greatest story ever told. Listen and follow now at fox news newspodcasts.com or wherever you listen to podcasts. Get ready for Trump a palooza. That's the name the RNC chair is calling the upcoming planned 2026 midterm convention, hoping to highlight, quote, all the incredible things that this president has done. And while Republicans rally around 47, CNN's data guy says the Democrats basically want to 86 their leaders.
E
Take a look at how Democrats who disapprove of Congressional Democratic leaders.
C
Hello.
D
We're talking about 57% in January of 2026, the second highest disapproval rate for Democratic leaders from their own party on record. There's basically been no improvement. Democrats hate their own congressional leaders. These numbers are awful, awful, awful, crazy. Crockett and Zoran the Destroyer are getting floated as the future of the Dems. But James Carville and Bill Maher both say the party should take a hard pass.
E
Crockett has said that Hispanics who voted for Trump have A slave mentality that's not very smart. That will bite you in the. In a general election.
D
Democrats seem to be having this debate whether or not Mayor Mamdani is a socialist or a democratic socialist. Let me settle it.
E
He's a straight up communist, but if.
D
Liberals deny it, like he's just going through a goth phase, they're going to lose more elections. This is not a communist country. Kayleigh, the midterm convention, what are your thoughts?
F
I love it. And here's why. Jessica always dutifully brings her polling, but I always dutifully bring mine. And here's why. I think this is such a good idea. And, and I think we're baiting Democrats into doing this. They did this in the 1970s. Democrats are now considering this. There are at least two states advocating for it. The polling, yes, it shows Democrats up on the congressional ballot by plus 5. They were at plus 10 in Donald Trump's first term. But when you do comparative polling, people don't like the Democrats. And when you say the Wall Street Journal did last week, compare Republicans and Democrats, Republicans are plus 28 on border security, plus 11 on immigration, plus 6 on economy, plus 6 on inflation, plus 5 on foreign policy, plus 2 on tariffs. And then Democrats lead on vaccine policy. Okay, so that's what they've got. So I want to see contrasting visions. I want to see Donald Trump's vision, Republicans and Democrats vision, because any good pollster would tell you contrast messaging is what you want in an election year. So let's provide the contrast, bait them into a midterm convention, and if they don't want to do it, then Donald Trump can just take the publicity in the airwaves.
D
Do you believe you guys are being baited into having a convention?
A
No, I don't think so. And I'm not sure where I fall on whether Democrats should be doing this or not. But I agree with Kelly about the Wall Street Journal polling. It just drives a different conclusion for me because I think that that means, based on the fact that Republicans are rated higher than Democrats, but Donald Trump has terrible ratings on every single issue that matters to voters, that you should actually keep Donald Trump off the trail. Right now, Democrats have more than a 20 point advantage on who is more motivated to vote in November. That's how midterms work. That's how historically the party that's out of power win something back. Maybe it'll be just a blue trickle hoping for a tsunami, but if you have Donald Trump out there every night in our faces, we are definitely going to show up. And there is going to be more opportunity for him to say things that aggravate that, offend, that remind you that he thinks affordability is a hoax, that he thinks that, you know, we've only gone after the bad hombre is that he, God knows what he'll just a.
D
Hoax that you guys were running on it after.
A
So anyway, Donald Trump up there every night will help the Democrats win in November.
D
All right, so, Dana, you hear the Democrat perspective. They want Trump out there. They say he's got bad numbers.
B
I mean, am I wrong? This whole thing started for the Republicans because the Democrats said they were going to do this. This is like, about us. Yes, yes. That's what happened several months ago. The Democrats said they're thinking of having a midterm convention. And about, you know, a couple of hours later, there was a. That said, I think we should have one. And I was like, you know what, sir, you're right. But here's why I think it's not a bad idea for both sides. Everyone's invested in what's happening in the country right now. People are paying a lot of attention. The Republicans, beyond just being going out and saying these are the great things that President Trump has done, they need to say, why do we need to keep the majority? It's not just to keep them from being impeached. It's because we want to pass X, Y and Z. And they've like passed nothing pretty much, except for those big bills. Also, conventions like this can get everyone on the same page and it can give us a lot of reason, you know, to cover the news.
E
Yes.
D
And go to the conventions, which hopefully will be in a sunny state.
B
They're looking at Vegas.
D
They're looking at Vegas, baby. All right, you can lose some more cash.
E
I don't gamble. I don't gamble or drink. My vices include killing friendly animals. Listen, my question is, where's Republican leadership on this? Why is it that Donald Trump has to find peace all around the world, fix the economy, take away our dependency on China and cheap labor, run the country, and also go raise all the money to get people elected in an election he's not even on? I mean, I understand different people have different strengths. I think Mike Johnson's almost this sacrificial lamb being hung out to dry. He's not a dynamic person. He's not going to be able to raise a lot of money. He's making a lot of close call deals with Dems to get stuff out of the House and everybody behind him is just waiting on him to get fired. So I think there's a lot of Republicans in Congress that would be just fine being in the minority so they could complain about everything, raise money and be in position to be in power next time around. And that scares me. That bothers me. I mean, there are people, Doug Collins might be one of them. Who's. And I'm not saying that was ever in his mind, whose brand was elevated by impeachment trials and defending President Trump or defending policies or.
D
And so you're saying Republicans in the House want to lose the House?
E
I'm not saying they want to. I'm saying they haven't put any effort into keeping it.
B
Well, but that's partly because he blots out the sun and he can do it.
E
I get it that Donald Trump's someone different, but where is the dynamic personalities that are actually running for office raising money? The one thing Matt Gaetz could do is send out a tweet and raise money. I don't know that he raised money.
B
Jasmine Cross can raise every time.
E
You're right.
B
Crazy stuff.
E
I know. But on the Republican side, we got Donald Trump.
D
All right, we'll see how it shakes out. Jessica, I'll see you in Vegas. All right, up next, Americans are treating everything like a ski slope after a monster snowstorm wallops half the country. Well, the holidays have come and gone once again. But if you've forgotten to get that special someone in your life a gift. Well, Mint Mobile is extending their holiday offer of half off unlimited wireless. So here's the idea. You get it now, you call it an early present for next year.
A
What do you have to lose?
E
Give it a try@mintmobile.com Switch limited time.
F

A
Month when network is busy.
F
See terms.
D
And the lightning strikes. Another love grows cold.
F
Honestly, a monster winter storm walloping our country. But some Americans tried to make the best of it. Look at this guy. He was skiing in the middle of the streets of New York City. And socialist Mayor Zoran Mamdani was seizing the means of a shovel. That was in Brooklyn. He's helping to dig out cars and check out Olympic snowboarder Shaun White jumping over comedian Shane Gillis in Central Park. Watch this. So some fun in the snow. Jesse, I had them pull some images, video rather of Mamdani for you back in August, when he was attempting to weightlift 135 pounds with the assistance of a spotter. His shoveling, not quite as impressive as that, I guess.
D
You know, it's good politics to get out there and shovel snow during a snowstorm in Manhattan. You could tell the man has never shoveled snow in his entire life. I was a big time snow shoveler back in the day. I didn't always have my driveway plowed professionally, but I would go out and do the neighborhood. And you make a lot of money. You go out, you do $20 a driveway and you can clean up, or you hire your friends, younger brothers, and then they give you $5 a cut. That's how you really make money.
F
Indeed.
B
Yeah, definitely. Zoran Mamdani never had that idea.
F
Never. Never ever.
B
That was very capitalistic. What I thought was interesting is that over the weekend or over the week weekend, when you had the power cut out, all across the country there was this resurgence of, guess what? Coal, natural gas and nuclear power. So just like there's no atheist in a foxhole, when you need the power on, you will take it from wherever you can get it. And that's why this all of the above approach is a better one for the country.
F
Indeed. And, Joey, you were here this weekend, so was I. Did you stay safe from the snow? I thought I saw you skiing down the sidewalk of New York City.
E
If you saw me skiing, it was because I was trying to walk. I look like a little old man. I'm like holding on to two or three people trying to get through the snow over here. It does humble me quickly, that's for sure. No, I stayed here. I worked. It was the week for me and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we were talking about things like Minneapolis I wish we didn't have to talk about, but back home in Georgia, we didn't get any snow. It missed us a little bit. I kind of hate that. But yeah, we had good football.
D
We had very good football on tv, so that was good. We were all inside.
F
I was watching Netflix, so I missed the football, but I hear it was good, Jessica. So it was serious for a lot of people. Eighteen states had a foot or more of snow. Hundreds of thousands of people without power. I did see the beautiful pictures of you and your family in the snow in New York City. So fun, but also tough.
A
Very tough for a lot of people. I can't imagine, like, I've had my heat go out of my apartment a few times, even just for a day or two, and it's miserable, let alone the people are going to. It's going to take a while for it to come back. So very serious. But also it's nice, especially when you're raising city kids, that they kind of get to see what kids that live in the suburbs or in more rural areas have. So my kids thought it was a lot of fun and actually let me put on like this hat that I have been trying to get. Like I bought it for my older one and now it fits the younger one and she wore it. But binging wise, went straight through. Heated rivalry. Highly recommend. That's HBO, though.
F
Nice.
D
A little saucy gay hockey player.
A
It is nice. I will.
B
You know that they invited them to carry the.
A
Yeah, the torch. The Olympic torch.
D
Wait till Trump hears about that.
B
Well, hopefully he just did.
F
Sounds like a riveting Sunday. Jessica Tarlov. All right, the fastest. Up next.
D
Maybe that plane would never take off.
E
Maybe that dust wouldn't fly. Maybe, baby, that.
A
I want you to know that I'm never even. Cuz I miss. Welcome back. It's the only thing separating us from the animals. Some hotels are getting rid of proper bathroom doors and guests are revolting also. It's revolting, Kaylee. So in most cases, like a, A pocket door. But are you and Sean, open door, bathroom people?
F
Oh, my gosh.
B
What kind of question is that?
A
Well, isn't that what this is about?
F
Yes. No. I mean, I won't get into my bathroom habits with my husband here on the Five.
B
Yeah, exactly.
F
However, what I will say is I shared a room with a friend and my daughter and it was like one of these pocket doors that were glass. It was so disgusting. I actually moved hotels because I'm like, I have no peace. I have no privacy.
B
Right.
F
And I'm a pretty open person.
A
I apologize that I asked you about that, Jesse.
D
I mean, I'll just tell you. Yeah, I'm not allowed anywhere near her. Like, I have to leave the country. If she goes to the open door thing, I have to walk away. Maybe go to the gym, something.
A
Go to the lobby, go get a coffee.
D
Doesn't happen.
F
Yep.
B
No, I will join a mob if I have to see another one of these things. I don't understand why they're doing. I guess for space.
E
You're a protester, not an agitator.
B
Okay, I will. And don't worry, I have no permit. But now I know the rules and I will use my common sense. But this is, I think that whoever was the designer of all of these has gotten it very wrong. And I predict that this is a trend that will end quickly because they.
A
Say like if you're close with someone, but that's how you stay close.
E
So this is about hotels. And as someone who stays in a hotel almost as much as I do my own home, what it is is hotel rooms are getting smaller. So it's a way to make you feel like the overall room is bigger. There's a hotel, I won't name it because I don't have anything against it, but a hotel near this building that like you could, if you had legs, you could prop them up on your bed while you're on the toilet. Like it is in the room. There is no divider. There's like a half a wall. And to me that's insane.
B
Yeah, I think I know that place too.
A
The bathtub in the room is nice, but the toilet in the room is.
D
No, not so much a bathtub in the bedroom.
A
You see that in Las Vegas everywhere.
B
Very European thing.
A
Oh, that's for you and your bidet.
D
Your honeymoon.
E
You mean that one?
A
Yes. It's for only one trip.
E
Really low, warm.
A
One more thing is up next.
D
New CBS Sunday, the Grammys, baby. History will be made live, unfiltered, unexpected, bigger than ever. Bigger stars, bigger performances. Music's biggest night is getting bigger.
E
Now you see what all the hype is about.
D
Trevor Noah hosts the Grammy Awards live.
C
Anything is possible.
D
CBS Sunday and streaming on Paramount. Plus.
B
It's time now for one more thing. Jesse.
D
Hot off the presses, the California Post. All right, this is hot. Brand new. Seven days a week, digital and print paper. It's going to bring hard charging, plain spoken journalism to the of its sister publication, the New York Post to the west coast and rest assured, it's a heavy hitter. You can check it out now@newyorkpost.com CA tonight, Jesse Worth primetime. Johnny visited the boat show.
E
Watch how much is that boat?
D
280. Boat. Whoa.
E
Nothing, nothing, nothing. You're part of the 1%.
D
Yes, he is.
B
I got to say the editor in chief of the New York Post who's also doing the California Keith pool. Great guy. And good luck to you guys out there on that. Oh, I'm next. Okay, you probably saw this, right? Alex Honnold climbing the huge tower in Taiwan without any ropes or protective equipment. Took him 90 minutes. This was alive on Netflix with a 10 second delay for the just in case that's his lovely wife there. What I highly recommend watching Free Solo, the documentary where he climbs El Capitan. One of the things that you learn about there is that he doesn't have fear like you and I do is very fascinating. And a podcast today with Guy Benson. Jessica.
A
Okay, that's crazy. That is crazy. Check out this video. A newborn baby goat and its mom are rescued from a sheer cliff face in Spain. After becoming stranded in a dangerous spot, local rescuers bravely reached the pair and brought them to safety. They're so cute.
E
Fortunately, it doesn't need rescuing.
A
The producer told me it did.
B
All right, any. Any excuse to show a picture of Spain. I'm for that. All right, Kaylee.
F
So my beloved Taco Bell co alighted with my beloved home state of Florida. A shirtless Florida man is heading to prison after trying to rob a Taco Bell. Listen to this. With a giant rock. Cops say he dove through the drive thru windows, scared off employees and customers, and then he ran. He was caught hiding behind a dumpster with a canine unit. He got four years in prison. Hopefully he was trying to get a crunch wrap because in that we would be an agreement on.
B
That's like when the judge did a Stupid criminals. That was my favorite segment. I love that one because they are really stupid sometimes.
E
When he got there, he goes, yo, really? Really, really. Quiero Taco Bell.
F
Quiero Taco Bell.
B
Okay, you're next, Joe.
E
Yeah, this is great. I think we have this video of a bunch of ducks. And this is in Idaho. Look at that. Those are all ducks. That's a duck hunter's. That's going to be heaven for anybody. That's a duck hunter right there.
B
It's not too easy if you're a duck hunter.
E
Well, it's not as easy as you want it to be, I'll tell you that. But this was last week because the cold weather was coming in. Finally pushed them down from Canada. The one more thing is that this week is last week for duck hunting everywhere. Except unfortunately for Georgia Governor Kemp. You could fix that and help us out.
F
He's so depressed and he's so jealous of this. Sean would be like, I want to mow down those puppies.
D
Yeah, but you're not allowed to duck hunt in Georgia.
E
Well, we ended a week early because of no good reason at all.
B
Yeah, it's absolutely no good reason. I bet that's going to get fixed by next week.
E
I hope so.
B
All right, thanks, everybody. That is it for us.

Host & Panel: Dana Perino, Kayleigh McEnany, Jessica Tarlov, Jesse Watters, Joey Jones
Podcast: FOX News Podcasts – The Five
This episode of "The Five" centers on breaking developments out of Minnesota regarding the Border Patrol’s imminent withdrawal from Minneapolis following controversial incidents involving ICE, local officials, and the fallout from a deadly law enforcement encounter. The panel debates the political, legal, and social ramifications, the looming government shutdown over ICE funding, winter storm chaos, and the upcoming midterm conventions, with their signature mix of news analysis, spirited disagreement, and humor.
Jesse Watters (04:21):
“The governor of Minnesota is in open rebellion. He has called ICE agents, Nazis. He's told the people to get in their face and to kick them out of the state. And now it's like a low level insurgency...”
He compares state resistance to an insurgency and criticizes public tactics against ICE.
Jessica Tarlov and Kayleigh McEnany debate the facts and framing of the shooting of Alex Preddy, focusing on whether the use of force was excessive and the precedent it sets for rights and responsibilities regarding firearms, protest, and law enforcement.
Joey Jones provides perspective as a gun owner and veteran, underscoring the necessity of responsibility when carrying weapons:
(12:00)
“The Second amendment is a right... Those rights come with restrictions. I think you would understand that more than anyone at this table. One of those restrictions is you have to have your ID and your permit on you. We don't know. Current reports are he didn't have either one of those on, at which point he's not carrying legally.”
Jesse Watters (19:14):
“Whatever deal [Walz] makes with Trump might decide how they handle this in Congress... This is what the Democrats did. They worked with cartels and the third World to have the greatest human trafficking operation in world history poured in the United States...”
He blames Democrats for policies he believes are fueling chaos.
Jessica Tarlov (21:10):
“They want it split up in the minibus bill…so that you could actually get your hands on money that would be going towards ICE specifically versus other parts of DHS that you do want funded…”
She describes legislative nuances in the funding fight.
Dana Perino (33:41):
“Over the weekend…when you had the power cut out, there was this resurgence of, guess what? Coal, natural gas and nuclear power. So just like there's no atheist in a foxhole, when you need the power on, you will take it from wherever you can get it.”
Panelists share personal anecdotes about coping with the storm, combining seriousness and humor.
Kayleigh McEnany (26:42):
“...When you do comparative polling, people don't like the Democrats. And when you say... compare Republicans and Democrats, Republicans are plus 28 on border security... I want to see contrasting visions. I want to see Donald Trump's vision, Republicans and Democrats vision...”
Jessica Tarlov (27:48):
“I think that means, based on the fact that Republicans are rated higher than Democrats, but Donald Trump has terrible ratings on every single issue that matters to voters, that you should actually keep Donald Trump off the trail... if you have Donald Trump out there every night in our faces, we are definitely going to show up.”
Joey Jones (29:53):
“Where's Republican leadership on this?... I think there's a lot of Republicans in Congress that would be just fine being in the minority so they could complain about everything, raise money and be in position to be in power next time around. And that scares me.”
The show winds down with humorous discussions about:
Jesse Watters (04:21):
"[Minnesota] is like a low level insurgency. There's very sophisticated communication tactics. There's like food drops, there's supply chains. It's crazy.”
Jessica Tarlov (08:22):
“Shouldn't you know [where the gun is] before you kill somebody?”
Joey Jones (12:00):
“The Second amendment is a right... Those rights come with restrictions. One of those restrictions is you have to have your ID and your permit on you. We don't know... if he had either one.”
Kayleigh McEnany (11:06):
“The responsible way to handle this is... we call for an investigation because we don't arrive at conclusions.”
Kayleigh McEnany (26:42):
“[Republicans] are plus 28 on border security, plus 11 on immigration, plus 6 on economy…”
Jessica Tarlov (27:48):
“…if you have Donald Trump out there every night in our faces, we are definitely going to show up.”
Joey Jones (29:53):
“…a lot of Republicans in Congress... would be just fine being in the minority so they could complain about everything, raise money and be in position to be in power next time around. And that scares me.”
The panel is combative, witty, and colloquial—alternating between sharp policy critique and laugh-out-loud moments. They remain true to their ideological perspectives while occasionally surprising each other with moments of agreement or empathy.
This episode of "The Five" is a whirlwind of political hot takes and breaking news, centered on Minnesota’s standoff over immigration enforcement. It delves into the broader reverberations—government funding battles, public opinion polarization, and 2026 electoral maneuvering—showcasing why "The Five" remains a leading venue for high-energy, ideologically diverse debate on national events.
