Hello everyone, I'm Gillian Turner along with Paul Morrow, Jessica Tarlov, Joey Jones and Gregory Gutfeld. It's five o' clock in New York City. This is THE five President Trump says he is cracking down on anti Semitism at Harvard. This is we learn chilling new details now about the murder of a young Jewish couple in the nation's capital two days ago. They were targeted because they're Jews, an affidavit reads. Elias Rodriguez fired 21 times at the couple. One of the victims, Sarah Milgram, desperately crawling away, fighting for her life before being gunned down by the suspect. Sources tell Fox News now the DOJ is considering more charges for the gunman in the wake of those anti Semitic executions. Officials now cracking down on college campuses that critics say have really become hotbeds of anti Semitism. A federal judge granting Harvard University just a moment ago a temporary restraining order after the Trump administration. Earlier, the president put other universities on notice. Take a listen.
Paul Morrow
Are you considering stopping other universities besides.
Greg Gutfeld
Harvard from accepting foreign.
Jessica Tarlov
Well, we're taking a look at a lot of things.
Greg Gutfeld
And as you know, billions of dollars.
Jessica Tarlov
Has been paid to Harvard. How ridiculous is that?
Gillian Turner
Billions.
Jessica Tarlov
Harvard's going to have to change its ways. So are some others.
Gillian Turner
A lot of folks, though, are crying foul.
Joey Jones
This is all a part of the authoritarian playbook that Trump has been seeking to execute. Right from January 20th on, this action.
Gillian Turner
Is just the antithesis of what we've.
Jessica Tarlov
Been doing to try to get good.
Gillian Turner
Talent to stay and try to get immigrants to be part of our economy.
Jessica Tarlov
Because we actually need their skills. They accused Harvard of the. Of fostering violence and anti Semitism and coordinating with the Communist Party of China. Absolutely absurd. It's going on with students. They are worried about how foreigners are treated in the United States. So why not go to college at Oxford instead of Harvard? And that's, you know, that's a big loss.
Gillian Turner
All right, let's talk about the shooting in Washington, D.C. this poor young woman, we are now learning, Sarah Milgram crawling away, Paul. Trying to drag herself, you know, away from the gunman as best she could while he continued and continued to just unload on her in full. I mean, in public, right?
Joey Jones
Yeah.
Gillian Turner
On the sidewalk, in front of dozens of other people.
Joey Jones
Yeah. So horrible optic. Let's, let's advance the story a little bit here. First of all, he travels cross country. He seems to be engaged in a targeted shooting. Right. It's very mangion esque. Okay. Shoots them in the back. Seems to have done maybe some social engineering because according to the person that put the event together, the whole thing was done under real strict security. In fact, even the invitations were sent out encrypted. Somehow he penetrates it and he goes there. Was he looking for these two specifically? Did the security. I know people that have been involved in this, the Jewish locations, particularly Israel adjacent, have been hardened because of these sorts of threats. We had the terrible thing out in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago, so they hardened all of these locations. So when he got there, was he intending to go inside? All right. Because that would have been a lot more targets. And he had this gun. He had a lot of. He had extra ammunition. Right. He had a lot of bullets. So could have been a lot worse. There's a lot of questions still to be answered in terms of the charging. They talk about hate crime, terrorism. The end of day, it's a federal murder charge. He is potentially in the bucket for the death penalty. But here's the thing. I just want to say it again.
Gillian Turner
He deserved the death penalty.
Joey Jones
Do I think he deserves the death penalty? Well, put it this way, it's on film, so there's not going to be a whole lot of question regarding it. So we have a federal death penalty. If you are ever going to use it. This is the case. Am I personally in favor of it?
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah.
Joey Jones
Whack them out.
Gillian Turner
All right, Jessica, this has sort of laid everything out there on the Table made clear a lot of the undercurrents that we've been feeling in the United States over the last couple of years. It is now very clear that Jews, we already knew that they weren't safe in a lot of Western European capitals, certainly not safe in Middle Eastern cities, including inside Israel itself. They are now not safe in America's capital.
Paul Morrow
Absolutely. I mean, this is a trend that's been going on for several years, accelerated since the October 7th attacks. And you and I both have kids about the same age, and I know people who send their children to synagogue schools, Jewish preschools, and there are armed guards outside, which is completely antithetical to what my religion is about. And it's deeply upsetting and disturbing. I was in D.C. the night of the shooting, a few blocks away, and it's. It's hard to believe, and at the same time, it actually makes complete sense based on what we've been seeing over the last year and a half. And my heart goes out to the families of your own Lashinsky and Sarah Milgram. Where I feel that the administration has really lost the plot, though, is why they have decided to squander so much goodwill in terms of combating anti Semitism on college campuses by this level of gross overreach. What they're trying to do with Harvard, to take away 27% of the population, which is the international population, there's what they're doing at Columbia, threatening in Princeton, etc. Indicates that they are a bunch of wannabe dictators who want to control American university life. They want to control the curriculum. They want to control the faculty. They want to control the student body. They want to control research. No, they don't, Joey. We have a. I mean, I wouldn't.
Greg Gutfeld
Send my kid to one of those schools.
Paul Morrow
We have a First Amendment and we have academic freedom in this country. And that's what the courts are doing. They're pushing back from immigration to academic freedom. The courts are showing up. But it's clear that this administration is just taking every opportunity that they can to amass as much executive power and control as possible. And they're also not thinking about the consequences if the shoe is ever going to be on the other foot. You know, it is possible that a Democrat could get elected. And if you set a precedent that you're going to have this kind of level of control, you're not going to be very happy with the implications of that. I'm glad to see the university standing strong, supporting their research communities, but we are going to be less safe because of this, we are going to be less prosperous. The economic benefit out of these research labs is astronomically good for the American economy. And people are, you know, you can joke and say, well, what do we want you anyway? They're going to go to other universities because if you can be picked up, if you're a Turkish, Turkish national with a visa here, and you can be picked up and put in an ice truck, or you can't even get into Harvard now, why wouldn't you just go.
Gillian Turner
To Oxford at the same time?
Greg Gutfeld
Please do.
Gillian Turner
I talked to the DHS secretary.
Paul Morrow
You know how silly that sounds?
Gillian Turner
Kristi Noem says suck it. That she says that coming to the United States in a student visa for any foreigner is a privilege. And she is correct. It is not a right that anybody has. Joey, what about the argument that it's simply incumbent upon the US Government to vet, you know, rather than getting rid of them, what about vetting them more?
Greg Gutfeld
President Trump is the president of hard reset because we've put our country in a place where we need it. All this complaining about Doge. Oh, they're using a meat cleaver instead of a surgical knife. Well, that's because when you do the surgical knife method, it gets convoluted in what is government and bureaucracy. So a lot of these things are hard resets. And it's okay if it pisses people off because we need it. Maybe if you get passionate about it beyond your partisanship, maybe then you'll look for a real solution. So if everybody's, I mean, I don't know who didn't see the committee hearing where Elise Stefanik grilled the university presidents and they all looked absolutely foolish to the point that one of them kind of lost her job over it. So when you say, you know, the Trump administration wants to dictate who's in charge of these colleges, there's a difference between wants to make sure that these essentially bad actors aren't in charge of the college and. And deciding who gets to be in charge of the college. No one's under any belief that Harvard's going to be a conservative university or that Columbia is going to be a conservative university. Columbia goes back 20 years of hating on veterans. Do you think they're ever going to change their ways? No, that's exactly what they are. They're extreme left. That's what the university is. That's who they hire. That's the culture they've bred. And the government does play a role because it is the government's job to keep us safe. That's the reason why even conservatives believe in a big, strong defense. And so it's our government's job to keep us safe. And one of those roles and responsibilities is helping administer the law and decide who gets to come into our country and who gets to stay. And if you're coming here to sow hate and discontent, then your ass should be on the first plane or bus out of here.
Gillian Turner
Certainly, if you're going to threaten people, too, and make them not just feel unsafe, but actually be unsafe on college campuses. I think that's Secretary Noem's strongest argument. Right. That university is failing its most basic commitment. Right. Which is to keep its students safe from physical harm.
Greg Gutfeld
Well, it's. The irony is just a few years ago, we needed safe spaces on campuses because someone like Tommy, now you really need them, is going to hurt your feelings so bad you need hospital time. Like, that's, that was not that. Oh, and by the way, that was all liberal violence, too, because every time somebody like Tommy went to speak, they stormed into the room and pushed people around and they had to rush them out of the, out of the college. So there's a book called the Coddling of the American Mind. It's not written by conservatives. And they give you a great history on how these colleges and universities have gone down the drain on this, how they're not for free speech, which is. It's crazy. Like, oh, it's got to be free speech and free thought. Well, that's not what they are. The right opinion from the right isn't allowed on these college campuses. It just isn't. And if you, if you're brave enough to do it, you're not going to make good grades. I mean, it's that simple.
Gillian Turner
So, Greg, why did you do it? Why did you ruin Harvard University? Columbia University?
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah. This is not about stopping free speech or trying to take control of colleges. That's ridiculous. This is about finally challenging a destructive mindset that has poisoned academia. And it's, it's, it's a poison that the, the act, the. These academic places have abdicated their role in. They've let it happen. This wouldn't have to happen if they actually fought this mind virus. It's the oppression filter. For some reason, one segment of society gets a free punch and the other segment of society receives it. It isn't just on campuses. There are actually literally people getting punched on our streets because they deserve it. If you look at no cash bail, decriminalization of mass theft, allowing for trespassing, squatting, violent Protest, vandalism, harassment. There is an idea that has come out of the campuses that a segment of society is owed a free punch. And the Jews, they deserve the punch. That's what you're learning here. Why is that? Well, they're white coded and they're successful in the same vein that the white South African farmers. Nobody cares about them. Why is that? Because they're white. So they aren't allowed in the oppressor oppression mindset. They are still the oppressor. Even when they're the victims. When Jews are victims, they are still the oppressor. Why? I just told you, if I were a parent of a high school kid, I would really worry about the ease at which these really bad ideas can take hold of your child. You know, when you send your kid off to school, you're hoping that their they get an education. But now you have to think about how do I inoculate them so they're not swept up in a violent minded ideology. You know, the fault lies in this oppression narrative. It is a successful narrative because you see it everywhere. We now have academia where intolerant mobs are portrayed as the progressives, as the champions of free speech. Oh my God, they're taking these mobs speech away. No, they're not. Do you know what? If we stopped supporting the, the Israeli conflict, do you think they would go away? No, the mission is in the protest. They would find something else. So right now we are the victim of a narrative that is being pushed by people who hate the West. In a perfect world, you would be able to be away from these people. But those two Jewish victims, they weren't harming anyone. You know, the wolf came for them. They weren't, they weren't on campus. You know, how can you be sure your kids, you know, are going to be safe when they go to school? I don't give three flying Fs if Harvard loses students to Oxford. Boo. Effing who? You deserve it. You deserve it. You do not care. They have allowed this mindset to infect thousands, millions of people. That's why we're doing it.
Joey Jones
You know, we should say he's innocent until proven guilty. We got to recognize that even though he is on tape. So we got to get that out. But you, it's undeniable that this has been inculcated in him since his campus days. I mean, from where I sit, if you drill down these people, they never leave school. It's a career path and they stay in it forever. And then they become the management class of These protesters, that's the thing you learn as a cop working on the front line. These things, they go on for decades. It never ends.
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah.
Gillian Turner
All right, well, stick with us because coming up next, we're going to talk about this. The alleged cover up of President Biden's decline. Is it done his party irreparable damage? We're going to get into it.
Jessica Tarlov
I stupid. I just got a lot of loving you all my.
Paul Morrow
Disney has been bringing happiness to families and communities for over a century and continues to be a powerful economic contributor. Since 2017, Disney has nearly doubled spending on film and television content and has grown its U.S. workforce by nearly 20,000, employing 160,000 people across all 50 states. And with more than $30 billion in investments in U.S. parks, Disney is creating nearly 10,000 job Explore Disney's impact at TheWaltDisneyCompany.com economic-impact stands for what's right.
Greg Gutfeld
It stands for the free. It stands for every small town kid who ever had a dream. Yeah, the Democrats sure wish we'd stop talking about all the devastating Joe Biden cover up headlines. Well, too bad one of the Obama bros. Is now admitting that he soft pedaled concerns about our geriatric former president. And here's why I remember feeling I.
Jessica Tarlov
Want to talk about this as a huge liability. I want to talk about this as something Joe Biden can overcome. But I'm not going to go so far as to say I think Joe Biden must drop out. He is too old to be president. A, because I didn't know exactly what was going on behind the scenes. But B, if Joe Biden is the.
Greg Gutfeld
Candidate, I want him to win because.
Joey Jones
I care about the country.
Gillian Turner
Hmm.
Greg Gutfeld
Well, you saw the liberal Daily show host Jon Stewart. He's warning his fellow Democrats that anyone with the stench of Joe Biden on them is going to have a tough time scrubbing it off. It has sown the seeds for a real and it's an opportunity for an interesting reinvention of what this Democratic Party can be. It's going to come from someone outside of it. I think anybody that has any of that stink on them is not going to be particularly successful. If that is not a Democrat's slogan in 2028, something has gone terribly wrong. Overcome the stink. If I don't have that on a.
Jessica Tarlov
Bumper sticker, it's compelling, compelling.
Greg Gutfeld
Greg, what's with Democrats and presidents that just their health falls apart? We got fdr, now you got Biden.
Jessica Tarlov
I didn't see that. You just named two two out of see, I think you need a third one for a trend. Jimmy Carter passed away, so I'll help you there. But yes, old for a long time. They're realizing that they need a Trump of their own. And they're right because Trump took on the establishment, not just the Democrats. He took on everybody. They need that because they need somebody to take on their party. But they have to realize that it was their treatment of Trump specifically that got him to this juncture. Why was, why did they tolerate, protect and enable a decrepit president? Because they convinced themselves that Trump was Orange Hitler and that anything was better than Orange Hitler. Leave nothing on the table. Everything was on the table, including lying, creating a cover up. Because, you know, a corpse would be better. A corpse would be better than Trump. Scott Adams lays it out. I'm going to keep mentioning him every day. The Biden is fine hoax was dependent on the Trump is Hitler hoax, which was resting on the fine people hoax. And it was the fine people hoax. And this is the hilarious part that Biden ran on in 2020, his own words. So how crazy is it that the lie that got him elected is now the lie that effectively destroyed the party? You know, this is why I brought up the fine people hoax every day because this is where it ends. They do need a rebrand. They may have to change their name. Philip Morris became Altria. That's a possibility. Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn. I don't know, this could happen. But they need a complete cleaning of the house. The one thing I'll say, and then I'll shut up. The corruption is so vast and so widespread. It might work to the Democrats benefit because like, where do you start?
Greg Gutfeld
I don't know where you start. I know where James Comer is going to start apparently, Jillian. He's going to call in folks to be and to be interviewed over what they knew, when they knew it. And he's positioning this as a, an investigation into potentially, I guess, defrauding the American people.
Gillian Turner
I was just going to say he's going to do what he always does, which is open an investigation and that is going to go forward. Everybody's going to kill me for saying this, but to play devil's advocate, right. I'm not saying there was not a preach, Jillian. I'm not saying there was not a cover up and I'm not saying that people should not be held responsible. I have never worked in politics, but having worked in Washington D.C. for a very long time, I will tell you that this is the job of aides whether they're working for a member of Congress. Greg shaking his head in agreement with me.
Jessica Tarlov
No, I've said this. It's not the White House is supposed to lie.
Paul Morrow
Correct.
Jessica Tarlov
It's the media. Media, that's really it. You know what I mean?
Gillian Turner
Yeah. So there's accusations against the media for covering up and the officials, in terms of the officials at the White House, they were hired by the Biden campaign and then the Biden White House to protect the President's interest. A big part of your job when you work in Washington, whether you work for a freshman member of Congress or the commander in chief, is to hide some of the more unsavory aspects about them, whatever those are, hide their weaknesses and insist that there's nothing going, no problems. Everything is great. So I think it's not that you don't then blame people for taking that way too far. But not everybody looks at it as this was something wrong. A lot of people look at it as like the staff, at the staff level, they were just doing their jobs.
Jessica Tarlov
But the media didn't do that.
Gillian Turner
Not the media. Yeah.
Greg Gutfeld
So just like more of a 30,000 foot view here. If you wanted to draw something similar in a different way, you go back after George, after George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the Republican Party was not in a good place. So you had this Tea Party movement that came after it. It did pretty well kind of fizzled out under Obama. And then from there you have what is now the MAGA movement that has taken over the Republican Party. The Democrat Party is Joe Biden, the George Bush for them, the one that's going to cause a major reset that's going to create a groundswell. It's something different.
Paul Morrow
I don't think so. No. I still think that there are not that many policy variations that other Democrats would be putting forward. I mean, you have the progressive wing and you have the more centrist wing. But generally speaking, Democrats are pretty happy with the legislative achievements of the Biden White House, which is why it was so hard for so many people to say that they thought he wasn't doing a good job or that he couldn't continue on to run again. And so no, I don't think it's like the Tea Party movement. And usually what happens when there is a challenge from the left is that they just lose to the centrist candidate. Candidate. I mean, that's why we don't have Cori Bush anymore. That's why we don't have Jamal Bowman anymore. There aren't really parallels between the Two. But I think what's going to happen.
Greg Gutfeld
And I'm not saying Ilhan Omar is way worse than Michele Bachmann was. I mean, there's, there's still plenty of them in there.
Paul Morrow
I mean, there are definitely far left progressives in there. But I'm just saying that.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah.
Paul Morrow
Anyway, what 2028 is going to be about is what happens over the course of the next four years. That's what happens. Can be a referendum on the Trump 2.0. If JD Vance is top of the ticket, it'll be easier to tie it directly to him. And right at this particular moment, Democrats aren't all that unhappy with what they're seeing. You know, Trump announcing a tariff war a day, for instance, this reconciliation bill, if it goes through and cuts hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicaid and Medicare to give tax breaks to the wealthy.
Jessica Tarlov
Not true.
Paul Morrow
But okay, it is 100.
Jessica Tarlov
You are spinning.
Paul Morrow
I'm not so fast. I'm getting straight ahead. Ask Josh Hawley and okay, Josh, tell him I love this op ed. And Greg mentioned a staggering level of corruption. And I just got to note that the staggering level of corruption from last night's meme coin dinner, that's 40%. No, 40% of Donald Trump's wealth has been accumulated since he became president because of two crypto coins. The New York Times did interviews with foreign buyers of this cryptocurrency who came over here to have dinner with him. A guy from South Korea.
Jessica Tarlov
This is not even part of the segment. So you're talking about a meme coin.
Paul Morrow
I'm talking about who's corrupt and who is. We can debate the American office.
Jessica Tarlov
Did he try to cover that up? I don't think so. Caroline Levitt, you're defending an administration that covered up a dying leader, and you're sitting here going, but meme coin.
Greg Gutfeld
Meme coin.
Paul Morrow
I would say billion.
Greg Gutfeld
All right, let's call a chance to clean it up real quick.
Paul Morrow
Clean on my side of this.
Joey Jones
All right. All I can say is this right now. If the Democrats are really happy with all of their legislative initiatives and where they sit, then they were out to lunch 5 November, 20 January and subsequent, because they got Sherlock does that.
Greg Gutfeld
There you go.
Joey Jones
Okay, number two, let me just focus on investigations real quick because Comer is going to constitute. I want this congressional investigation to be the backdrop of summer. Let that be, you know, summer. You get like baseballs on in the background. You're not really paying attention. These hearings should be something that's going on in the background. Here's why. Donald Trump 34, quote, unquote felony convictions on that BS case brought here in New York City based on the idea that it was election interference. Well, if paying Stormy Daniels is election interference to a beyond a reasonable doubt standard, then you're telling me hiding the fact that we had a president who was completely non compos mentis, that's not election interference? I want to know who colluded on that. And you know what? There's no getting out of it if you're the media and his wife. Now, you can take it from the guy himself. He would come out at the press conferences, he'd look at the cards and he'd say, okay, let me see who I'm going to call on here. So very clearly they were colluding. Get people under oath, get into the comms. It's always a right. It's always the comms, as they say in Intel. Get into those communications, find out who's talking to. Remember Donna Brazil gave the questions to Hillary Clinton. Find out if that kind of stuff went on. Find out who was involved. And you can, even if it doesn't have to be arrests, but put the sunlight on it because the entire media needs an enema.
Greg Gutfeld
So what Donald Trump said, he said, clean it up real good. All right, up next, the loser Chicago mayor with a 7% approval rating is calling President Trump a monster.
Jessica Tarlov
Mamas and grandmamas love you. That's all they know. You can see it from the Disney.
Paul Morrow
Has been bringing happiness to families and communities for over a century and continues to be a powerful economic contributor. Since 2017, Disney has nearly doubled spending on film and television content and is spending $23 billion in fiscal year 2025. The company has also grown its U.S. workforce by nearly 20,000, employing 160,000 people across all 50 states. And with more than 30 billion in investments in U.S. parks, Disney is creating nearly 10,000 jobs. Explore Disney's impact at the Walt Disney company.com/economic-impact.
Jessica Tarlov
When you don't know me.
Paul Morrow
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson calling President Trump a monster. After the DOJ launched a probe into the Windy City's hiring practice. Mayor Johnson touted the number of black officials in his administration. And now he's heading back at the president.
Jessica Tarlov
The president's animus towards women, people of color, working people. This is not a surprise. He's a monster, period.
Joey Jones
We have the most diverse administration in.
Jessica Tarlov
The history of Chicago.
Joey Jones
And he is threatened by that.
Paul Morrow
So, Gillian, as much as I think the Trump administration does some monstrous things, if you're sitting there with a 7% approval rating, wouldn't you think that you might consider that you've got to do some things differently to get the support back of your city?
Gillian Turner
I think he's thinking not just different, but if you're at a 7% approval rating, you got to go big. You got to, like, outdo everybody else. You got to go hard charging at every Republican you can find. And that's, you know, what he's doing. Whether. It remains to be seen whether that works for Chicagoans. It has certainly for other politicians in the city in the past, meaning they have a proclivity to reelect the same people over and over and over, despite corruption, despite everything falling apart, despite violence. You know, so maybe it'll work for him. I don't know.
Paul Morrow
Greg, the, the crux of the accusation, it's about di, which the Trump administration's been going after. We had Lori Lightfoot, who didn't get selected again, who didn't want to call on white reporters, was the big story that we were covering back then. What do you make of all of this?
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah, it's weird how we used to think Lori Lightfoot was the worst mayor in history. He makes her look like Margaret Thatcher. Yeah, it's. Imagine if a. If a white leader said, you know, why do I hire so many white people? Well, they always show up on time, right? That great, you would be fired. But for some reason, you could be racist in America if you're black. Lori Lightfoot was Jussie Smollett. You can go on and on and on, but it's Friday and I want to get home. When you listen to this guy, you hear a relic of a dying era, a rent seeking charlatan coasting on identity. He's so comfortable in his racism, he can actually brag about it. But the problem with America, America, you know, it begins and ends with the cities like L. A, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, D.C. you know, there's never been an epidemic like this of mismanagement, cronyism, and corruption. And it's allowed to continue because a lot of these people are race hustlers who make it a hate crime to treat them as comp. As equals. Like, you're not supposed to expect competence or fairness from progressives because somehow they're exempt.
Paul Morrow
One area where it seems like progressives are actually doing well is pulling down the murder rate. So this is a national trend. Chicago, lowest murder rate since 1962.
Jessica Tarlov
They killed everybody.
Joey Jones
You know.
Paul Morrow
Yes. There are no people.
Joey Jones
You're Joking, but criminology is not me talking. There is a theory that at some point you get to the point where all the drug crews and gun crews have essentially either been arrested or in jail. I don't know if that's what's going on in Chicago, but you hear that from academics. I don't really buy it. I think it's generally down to good policing. Look, quality of life stuff is the stuff that's really become salient in the cities, right? And to Greg's point, our cities in America, these are supposed to be our crown jewels. These are the things that people think of when they're overseas, when they think of America. Look at a Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate Bridge. Our blue cities have become a nut job archipelago. It's almost like they are like a quarantine area that we've decided we're going to put all our most extreme. And so we just punt on it and we shouldn't give up on it because these cities are so important and vital to us. It's almost like we make a deal. Like you say, okay, you know what? Leave all the nuts there. But the cities are fun. So you know what? I like going to the city. Want to go to a restaurant, go to a show, but then I get out of there. It's okay. Leave the crazy. It's like you go to visit, but then you get out. Well, the reason I'm not okay with that is I live in the city and I grew up here and I don't want to give it up. And just to get to the point of Johnson here, and it goes back to Lightfoot, he's in the box here. The reason we're doing this story is because DOJ just opened on him, all right? The Civil Rights Division is looking at him over the 1964 Civil Rights act, and he's like almost black letter in violation. He says, yeah, well, I hire black people. I mean, you did not get that memo that you can't. What did Roberts say? Right this way. To stop discriminating on race is to stop discriminating on race as the mayor of one of our major cities.
Gillian Turner
But you also know, Paul, that like a feature, you know, you've lived here long enough. I certainly know because I grew up here in New York City. Like, nobody loves to complain about their local and state leaders more than liberals in the. Well, nobody more than this table. But then beyond this table, you know, like liberals in big cities. And then you end up with, you know, people like this, with the mayor with 7% but he might very well get elected, reelected for another 20 years. Nobody ever makes any change. It's baffling.
Joey Jones
Teachers unions.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah, he's not doing like, there's nothing revolutionary here. He's not doing anything any different than Hakeem Jeffries or Chuck Schumer. My policies aren't popular. As a matter of fact, they kind of suck. What am I going to do? What am I going to change? What's my message? Oh, I know. Blame Trump. Be mean to Trump. Hope that people bite on that. And, you know, maybe people in Chicago are dumb enough to do it. I don't think so. I mean, I think you can't slap some spit in somebody's face enough times and tell them it's raining and they'll just keep believing it.
Paul Morrow
Nut job. Archipelago was awesome.
Gillian Turner
Yeah.
Paul Morrow
All right.
Gillian Turner
That's Mike's new podcast.
Paul Morrow

Gillian Turner
So.
Joey Jones
Is Hollywood ditching alpha males? Gladiator 2 star Paul Mescal apparently thinks so. The actor is promoting a new film where he plays a gay character and he told Variety, quote, I think maybe in cinema we're moving away from the traditional alpha leading male characters. I don't think the film is defining or attempting to redefine masculinity. But on the flip side, Hollywood might be going maggish. Shazam. Star Zachary Levi voted for President Trump. He says plenty of others in the biz did so as well, but are too scared to speak up. So speaking of redefining masculinity. Greg Gutfeld.
Jessica Tarlov
Yes. I am the alpha male.
Joey Jones
So you and I knew Andrew Breitbart, whose famous quote is that politics is downstream from culture. Right. So I mean, you know, he was a big Hollywood guy. What's your take on this? Can we bring Hollywood back to earth?
Jessica Tarlov
I'm not sure anyone should express their politics because we want them to. Like, you know what I mean? It's like, well, it's like, like, why aren't these guys speaking out more? Maybe, you know, maybe they have a life that would be harmed by it. Like their industry would be ruined. Does it bother me that all I hear from the vocal celebrities is leftism? Yeah, it bothers me. But I realize that the celebrities that you don't hear from, they're not liberal because there is no, there is a. No disincentive for a liberal to be quiet.
Joey Jones
Right, right.
Jessica Tarlov
But there certainly is one for free. So the quiet ones are on your side. And I always love that when I find that out.
Joey Jones
Yeah. Because they're doing it without making a lot of noise.
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah, yeah.
Joey Jones
So, Gillian, you have a foreign policy background. To me, Hollywood is so perfect to.
Gillian Turner
Weigh in on this.
Joey Jones
Yes. Well, I think, I think it does matter. I'm going to tell you why. Because Hollywood is how America talks to the world. I mean, traditionally that has been the case and our soft power there still really does matter. So let me ask you something. I mean, does it matter? Does it, does any of this stuff matter internationally relative to our soft power?
Gillian Turner
No. But also, Paul Mezcal is full of S H I T because he was in Gladiator. Am I not allowed to spell first.
Paul Morrow
Words until he literally.
Gillian Turner
Anyway, a lot of people have said a lot worse on this show.
Jessica Tarlov
Don't worry about it. Don't worry. That's small shit.
Gillian Turner
Anyway, he was just Gladiator 2, which was like the most like toxically masculine movie ever made. Like with people just killing each other all over the place for no reason. Terrible acting. So he has, he's like. Again, he's just full of it.
Greg Gutfeld
Roadhouse. Roadhouse, Roadhouses. Listen, here's the deal. We need another Bruce Willis. We need another balding 30 something year old who doesn't look like he works out to come in and save the day with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Masculinity needs to be brought back. Maybe a Tom Hardy type guy to come out and do some more movies and not talk at all. Because that's what he does.
Paul Morrow
Bruce Willis was ripped. I mean, I get that. He also.
Greg Gutfeld
If you watch Die Hard.
Jessica Tarlov
If you watch Die Hard, Jason Statham, the beekeeper. That is this era's Citizen Kane.
Paul Morrow
We have Chris and Timothy. I can't. Is it Chevrolet?
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah.
Paul Morrow
I was like, you've got everything you want. Like the ripped, like bigger guy. If you want the thin Bob Dylany kind of guy, like, it's all available and any bod that you're into.
Greg Gutfeld
It's a veritable smorgasbord of men.
Paul Morrow
Listen, the bottom line is, though, same with ladies.
Joey Jones
We have been putting out movies.
Gillian Turner
That should be your Twitter byline, that telegraph. Smorgasborg is a very important.
Joey Jones
We just listen. Five years from now, it's all going to be AI anyway, so who cares? Fan mail Friday is up next, so we'll just.
Paul Morrow
I'm Allison Lundberg.
Jessica Tarlov
Okay. All right, first question, and probably the only one from Michael B. Which store did you love shopping at when you were younger? I'm assuming like as a teenager. Young kid going to a store. Paul, you and I are roughly the same age, but you grew up on a different side of the country.
Joey Jones
Yeah, I was raised by wolves. So comic books. They used to have comic book shops, remember? And they were like really colorful and they played like that kind of music. They play punk, just cramps. Very, very hip and very cool. And they're completely gone. I don't think. I don't even know if they're comic books anymore. But as a kid they were fun.
Jessica Tarlov
Now they're just all the little dolls and stuff. Like, what do you call those figurines and some comics? Chotchkiss, Chachk, Funko, Pops, Jillian, like in the weeds. As a child, you were. You grew up in an orphanage, am I right?
Gillian Turner
I did, yeah.
Jessica Tarlov
Good for you. You turned out okay.
Gillian Turner
An orphanage in South Africa.
Jessica Tarlov
Oh, that's right. You're from South Africa.
Gillian Turner
No, I'm not.
Paul Morrow
I'm here in New York.
Gillian Turner
I was born at New York Hospital.
Jessica Tarlov
So where'd you shop?
Greg Gutfeld
Did you come here for the gym?
Gillian Turner
Did I come here as a refugee? I did not.
Jessica Tarlov
Okay.
Gillian Turner
I was thinking about it. I think Abercrombie and Fitch was my fave. Yeah, it was back in the day before they had rebranded.
Greg Gutfeld
I worked there.
Gillian Turner
It was all like. You did?
Greg Gutfeld
Oh, yeah.
Paul Morrow
Did you stand topless in the door?
Greg Gutfeld
No. By the time I got there, we had to wear a shirt.
Gillian Turner
You used to have very good looking guys working there. I will say they. Yeah, I could see that being a match.
Jessica Tarlov
Yeah, I turned down that place a lot. That you said could be their car. Joey, what about. Where'd you shop?
Greg Gutfeld
The flea market. All the good stuff came from the flea market. I got all the GI Joe stuff. Slightly worn out. We got all of our socks and underwear at the flea market. Big D's was the big one to go to. It's still around. So. Yeah. Know a little bit more about me. You think that's. You think it's a joke, don't you?
Paul Morrow
I don't. And I'm. The underwear stuff always concerns me.
Jessica Tarlov
Don't buy underwear at the flea market.
Paul Morrow
And I feel like, Jillian, it would be somewhat. Urban Outfitters.
Gillian Turner
Same thing, really.
Paul Morrow
You know, as Abercrombie.
Greg Gutfeld
No.
Paul Morrow
And they would, like, have cramps. Like music, you know, you felt, like, cool in there.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah, well, I come from an urban outfitter. There's a guy with a bunch of stuff in the back of his truck.
Jessica Tarlov
Well, I shot at the Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo when it was outdoors. That's putting you way back. They had banana records. They had the Sunset House. Do you know, like that. What are those places called? Novelty stores where you'd buy like. Like you buy a glass and the ice cubes would.
Joey Jones
Spencer's.
Jessica Tarlov
Spencer's Gifts. It was like the first Spencer's gift. I would buy stupid things like. Like, yeah, cubes with naked ladies on them.
Gillian Turner
Yeah.
Joey Jones
You did black light posters.
Jessica Tarlov
Black light posters. I had so many of them. One more thing is up next.
Paul Morrow

Drag from the week in New York City. And the Yankees decided to recognize it by giving one of their players a very special surprise. Yankees pitcher Clark Schmidt was told he'd be catching the first pitch from a special guest before the game. And the special Guest turned out to be his father, U.S. marine Colonel Dwight Schmidt. Yeah. Hoorah. Who flew F18s in Afghanistan during his two deployments. He shot off his arm and threw a pitch right down the middle.
Greg Gutfeld
Flown him a little closer. I must still have legs.

“We have a First Amendment and we have academic freedom in this country.” ([06:50])
Impact on University Reputation: The hosts discuss how these policies might drive talented international students away, potentially harming the academic and economic stature of American universities.
“If you can be picked up, if you're a Turkish national with a visa here, and you can be picked up and put in an ice truck, or you can't even get into Harvard now, why wouldn't you just go?” ([07:51])
2. The Anti-Jewish Shooting in Washington, D.C.
Gillian Turner brings attention to the recent tragic event where Sarah Milgram and her husband were murdered in Washington, D.C., highlighting the antisemitic motives behind the attack.
