Hello, everybody. I'm Jesse Waters along with Emily Compagno, Jessica Tarlov, Dana Perino, and Greg Gutfeld. It's five o' clock in New York City, and this is the five. New York City police are searching for a motive after a gunman shot and killed four people in a midtown office building. Mayor Adams says the gunman had help and authorities found a note. Nate Foy is standing by with the latest. Nate. Hey, Jesse. So workers are cleaning up as the signs of the shooting are still here. Take a look. As workers are fixing some of the windows at this office building on Park Avenue that was the target of this gunman yesterday. And we are also seeing now take a look at this video. The off duty NYPD officer who was killed first in this attack, Dideroul Islam. His body was just moved from the medical examiner's office to a mosque in the Bronx. Mayor Adams describes him as a. He was running security when police say the gunman, Shane Tamura, walked into the office building after driving to New York City from Las Vegas. Now, Mayor Adams says he was motivated by grievances against the National Football League and his belief that he has cte, a degenerative brain disease. Mayor Adams also shared on the story today that he may have received some help. Listen to this. Part of the weapons was purchased by.
Greg Gutfeld
An associate of the perpetrator.
Jesse Watters
And he also purchased the firearm that.
Greg Gutfeld
Was found in the car by using a carry permit that he received in Nevada.
Jesse Watters
We're still looking into other aspects.
Greg Gutfeld
Two teams of detectives are going to Las Vegas.
Jesse Watters
So the gunman played high school football, but never in the NFL, and he ultimately shot himself in the chest, requesting in a letter that his brain be tested for cte. We also have a new picture of the second security guard that he killed. Security guard Alainde Etienne is described by his union as a dedicated security officer who took his job duties extremely seriously. Officer Islam was the first one killed in the lobby where Blackstone executive Wesley Lapatner also was shot and killed. She leaves behind two children and a fourth person who worked for Reudin Management, a real estate firm, was murdered on the 33rd floor before the gunman turned the gun on himself. Now, those who survived built barricades to protect themselves. You see, using office chairs, sofas and tables, anything they could to separate themselves from the gunman. Now, there is a vigil coming up tonight at 8 o' clock in Bryant park for all of the victims. And we'll be there. We'll send it back to you guys. All right, Nate, thank you. This Attack brings a new focus on Blue City crime. The Big Apple is electing its mayor in November and Kami Mandami's old tweets are coming back to haunt him. Like when he said this. We want to defund the police and leave it to CNN and Democrats to make it political.
Emily Compagno
Do they? They have any idea at this point who he is?
Jesse Watters
They do not know who he is. They know he is a male, possibly white. He's wearing sunglasses. He appears to have a mustache.
Emily Compagno
Shimon, back with us on the phone on the scene. Shimon, you heard John's reporting that they do know what he looks like. Male, possibly white, mustache, sunglasses in that building.
Greg Gutfeld
Let's talk about how this happened. This is happening because there are still assault weapons in our country.
Jesse Watters
We cannot keep meeting these moments with.
Dana Perino
Thoughts and prayers alone.
Jesse Watters
We owe them action. All right, Greg, what's been going through your mind after this horrific crime?
Dana Perino
Well, that's the first time I saw the thing with Hochul talking about guns. And that gun is illegal in New York City. Even concealed carry permits don't allow you to carry that gun. But gun control laws do not discourage people who plan on killing others and killing themselves. What kind of penalty would dissuade that? The sad thing is it dissuades the rest of us because we have lives. So we don't want a felony on us. We don't want to lose our jobs. We have lives. We don't want to go to jail. So you see how gun control laws hinders the self defense of the law abiding people, but will never ever stop that. I mean, he drove with this gun across the country. As for Zoran, Yeah, so he's running for mayor. And the first thing you do when you run for mayor is you get rid of all your left wing luxury beliefs. You know, he could have spouted all this destructive nonsense because it enhanced his status and his elite bubble. But now he needs the rest of us. He needs the normal people, he needs the police officers, he needs the people outside his bubble. So he has to somehow abandon his cowardly virtue signaling and start to sound like a leader. But good luck with that. The crime itself feels like a sequel to Luigi, and it's kind of like a mass shooting where it's influenced by the amplification of a previous narrative. Not a fact, a narrative. The lone male disgusted by a industry chooses a target and will live in infamy. And it worked for Luigi. He's got a musical, he's got a few adoring fans. More than a few adoring fans in the media and elsewhere, women who want to marry him and so on. Not the facts that are seductive. It's the narrative that the media will take as they take liberties with reality, because that is more interesting than the facts that a madman killed somebody. You know, Luigi, Luigi has a musical. Brian Thompson doesn't. Brian Thompson was his victim. And I think that's what bugs me about this. And I'm always glad how Fox focuses on the victims I would rather know about. These families are destroyed. And the more we make the narrative, make the protagonist the killer in this narrative, make him the story, the more likely we forget about them and we shouldn't.
Jessica Tarlov
DAN to P. Well, a couple of things from when I hadn't seen Kathy Hochul either over the weekend. There was that horrible stabbing at the Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan. And the similarity there is that innocent people going about their daily lives, either they're at work late, right, at 6:30pm all these people are still working. The evil capitalists are still working. Then you have people going about their business on a weekend, going to Walmart, trying to do what they need to do to either shop for fun or shop for the necessities that their families needs. And so the question was kind of immediately, how can we harden all of these targets? And instead of saying, no, actually, how do you take mentally ill people, prevent them from getting guns, traveling across the country, and maybe you can't do it all, but to immediately just go, well, well, I have more gun control. It gives them a pass from having to do the things about keeping people away from innocents who don't want to go to jail, who are doing the right thing, who are at work, who are taking care of their families. The other thing is that I don't like the narrative either, that, oh, it must be the NFL. NFL? I mean, well, he watched a documentary. Yeah, you know, Legacy of Denial.
Greg Gutfeld
Wow.
Jessica Tarlov
It was really understandable. The guy played high school football, so he's mad at the NFL because he has ct, obviously has other problems.
Dana Perino
He's a dead loser. He ruined families. I don't give a flying F about his brain.
Jessica Tarlov
And not only did he ruin those families, but I mean, the traumatization for people who were working there, people who didn't leave until after midnight because they were afraid to leave the building, they are completely traumatized in a building that is a landmark right there, right over there on Park Avenue. So I would go back to like, if you're Kathy Hochul, if you're A leader. If you're Mom, Donnie, you can't think about, oh, well, we have to have. We have to count on the police when you want to, or you have to say, oh, well, I guess. I guess we just need more gun control. And that's your answer? It's pathetic.
Greg Gutfeld
Emily, a few things.
Emily Compagno
So Mayor Adams also talked about the police presence here in the city. And that's something that I love about it. I see NYPD everywhere. It's fantastic. So is there enough NYPD on streets? He said yes, but my question is, are they paid enough? Because Officer Islam paid with his life, but we weren't paying him enough to have one job because that was his second job that he was doing there in the lobby. And I know that there are a lot of union negotiations and the like, and we have a different administration now, but I pray to God that there's an assessment of fiscal dollars here in this city and that more of our tax dollars go to these brave men and women that all too often make this ultimate sacrifice. And can I say on that point, too, that Bangladeshi immigrants have a huge presence in NYPD. There's well over 1,000 officers. They make up to over 15% of the traffic enforcement here. That's a large body. They have their own not union, but organization that was started almost 10 years ago. They're incredible. And Officer Islam now leaves behind three children. I talked to NYPD Sergeant Joe Imperatrice, who founded Blue Lives Matter, who will be caring for the family like they care for every family that has someone that made the ultimate sacrifice in the course of their duties here at nypd. And he said officers nationwide need to know that more than ever now that they need to be the police. He said there are people everywhere that need them and they always look for the men and women in blue when they feel they have no options left. More than ever, wear the uniform with pride and continue to do the noble work he said that Officer Islam and so many others set out to do and can't finish. And final point, actually, one quick point before that, all the buildings out here, did you guys notice today they all now have their security is outside in this heat wave, in triple digit heat, these guys are standing in the sun now. This, this has become a. This, this war battlefield. These guys are dying outside just trying to protect those inside. Question was raised today, actually by Piers Morgan on, on our show, and he talked about maybe the use of AI because the callousness and the brazenness with which that monster walked across the plaza with his M4 was somehow okay. And he said, he sort of questioned, could we use AI to maybe see that in all these cameras and act. And there's a company called Zeroeyes. It was founded by a Navy SEAL and it's manned 24 7, 365 by former Spec Ops. And they're watching all of these cameras and they, within seconds they can deploy emergency services and local law enforcement. And they have a lot of examples of how they've saved lives with people walking up, you know, on ring cameras with guns and the like. So perhaps that's something that would be really useful moving forward.
Jesse Watters
Last word to you, Jessica.
Nate Foy
I'm completely devastated and heartbroken by this. It's, you know, where I grew up. I know people who know both of the female victims, Julia Hyman and Wesley lapatner, who seem like incredible people and members of their community. Julia Hyman, only four years out of college, just getting started. Wesley Lapatner's two children away at camp, and this is the news that they get on a phone call. What a hero. I didn't know, and I still don't know much about the second officer, but Officer Islam, hearing that last night, that he has two kids and an eight month pregnant wife, unimaginable. I don't know how women who go through this, and I know that this happens with a lot of couples where someone is serving, you know, at home or abroad. I don't know how you carry on a pregnancy when you have lost your partner like that. And I wish her all the strength in the world. Jessica Tisch continues to impress at an astounding level to me. I thought Mayor Adams was also good yesterday, but as we were on the precipice of another election, I can't help but say again, I wish that Jessica Tisch had felt that she was ready right now. Maybe she runs again in the next election. But I feel that she embodies the grace and the professionalism and the efficiency that Amayor Bloomberg did. And I would welcome that. On the gun control front, what Kathy Hochul is talking about is the fact that when we did have an assault weapons ban from 1994 to 2004, we saw a decrease in mass shootings in this country. 70% less likely to happen. And then when the ban sunsetted, it spiked back up. That's what she's talking about. And you say this is a crazy person. This isn't the norm. Of course that's the case. But he had a documented mental health history. He had his prescription meds on him, apparently, according to the reporting. How did he get a concealed carry license even in Nevada? How are these things happening? And I don't think that it hurts the conversation or takes us backward at all to consider how we might prevent one of these things from happening. You will never be able to stop all of the lunatics, but if you stopped this one, we'd have four people that were alive today who certainly deserved to. And I don't see why that it's a bad thing to do that. Also on the CNN commentator point where he said, you know, maybe he's a white guy. I saw all over social media that the perpetrator was of Middle Eastern descent. And people were jumping to that before we found out that actually it wasn't the case at all. He's an American, half black, half Japanese, so.
Dana Perino
So, yeah, that's social media, though CNN should know better.
Jessica Tarlov
Okay.
Jesse Watters
Not the first time they made that mistake. Coming up, Jazzy Crockett brutally mocked after attempting to shut down a media puff piece.
Dana Perino
It is time to take the quiz.
Jesse Watters
It's five questions in less than five minutes. We asked people on the streets of New York City to play along.
Dana Perino
Let's see how you do.
Emily Compagno
Take the quiz every day at the.
Nate Foy
Quiz Fox, then come back here to see how you did.
Jesse Watters
Thank you for taking the quiz.
Dana Perino
The left needs a new hero. Democrat dark lord James Carville says there is no need to worry. Look at him walking towards the light. Big time talent is on its way.
Jesse Watters
Well, I agree that the image of the part is at an all time low.
Greg Gutfeld
There's a.
Jesse Watters
There's a bucket load of talent coming online. And I don't think people quite realize how deep our bench actually is. I think it's, it's extraordinarily deep.
Dana Perino
Bucket load of talent. So who's the unicorn? Carvel? Maybe it's loudmouth Jasmine Crockett. We're learning more about her inflated ego. She tried to spike a profile from a lefty magazine because the reporter did her job by talking to her co workers. Some other fun bits we learned. Crockett's phone lock screen is a photo of herself, Dana. And she thought she could lead the House Oversight Committee because she has the largest social media following. And who could forget these memorable moments?
Greg Gutfeld
Y' all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there. Come on now, tear cruise.
Jessica Tarlov
I mean, like, this dude has to.
Greg Gutfeld
Be knocked over the head, like, hard. The number of Republicans that have been like, no, like the border crisis. It's all the fentanyl. And I'm like, okay, Whatever.
Jessica Tarlov
The fact is, ain't none of y' all trying to go and farm right now. We done picking cotton.
Jesse Watters
If you could speak directly to Elon.
Dana Perino
Musk, what would you say?
Jessica Tarlov
Off.
Greg Gutfeld
I don't even know what to call him. I've called him so many things, but this wannabe Hitler, for sure.
Dana Perino
So Jessie, she has denied the Hot Wheels thing, even though she said it. She's changed her tune on a lot of stories, saying that she became a lawyer because she was a victim of a hate crime. Then she said she became a lawyer because her friend suggested she go to law school after seeing her in some theater production. My guess is she realizes the Democrats have bigger problems than her relationship with the truth. Like no one cares that she's lying and that she sees a hole that she can plug. That because the Democrats have nobody.
Jesse Watters
She is one big bucket load of talent.
Greg Gutfeld
Greg. Yeah.
Jesse Watters
We keep hearing about this deep bench, right? This deep bench. How deep is it? Because the last time they brought anybody off the bench, they got smoked. Kamala came off the bench. She got annihilated. Karen Bass was on the bench. She was on the short list for vice president. Beto was on the bench. Booker was on the bench. These guys got slaughtered by Joe Biden. So every four years, we hear about this deep bench. Now Jessica's constantly talking about their deep bench. Big Gretsch is going to come off the bench and win the election. Big Gretsch. The white Kamala Harris. You guys are going to run another woman. Good luck with that, Jessica.
Dana Perino
And Swalwell was literally on a bench, and he still can't bench probably more than you. No, no, we're gonna have a bench off. It is kind of interesting.
Jesse Watters
Is that a challenge? Did Gutfeld just challenge Swalwell? Yeah. To see who could bench more. You know he's gonna lose because he called it a bench off.
Greg Gutfeld
Yes.
Jessica Tarlov
What do you call it?
Dana Perino
Yeah, what do you call it?
Jesse Watters
A bench press competition.
Dana Perino
All right, I do have to go, but Jesse raises kind of a good point. Jessica, it's not true. If this bucket exists.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah.
Dana Perino
Where are they hiding it? Are they waiting for the right time to dump the bucket over our head like it's Gatorade on a sideline?
Nate Foy
No, no. I always love those moments. The coaches, they look surprised, but they love it so much. The bench is in plain sight. You just don't want to acknowledge it.
Dana Perino
Where is it?
Nate Foy
It's with Andy Beshear. Who is making.
Jesse Watters
Andy Beshear. Did he speak at the convention in Chicago?
Jessica Tarlov
He's Smart enough not to.
Jesse Watters
He didn't speak. So did any of them speak at the convention? Did they say anything that anybody remembers at Chicago's convention?
Nate Foy
Are you kidding me? Just. We talked about being in the wilderness. We'll get it together. I would like to bring out some winners from your bucket, though. Your bench. Kerry Lake, Mark Robinson, Doug Mastriano, who's floating going against Josh Shapiro again, which won't end well for him. And they're freaking out in Texas about Ken Paxton winning this primary because he's not going to be able to do it as well in a general election as John Cornyn. What do you say to that? How's your.
Jesse Watters
I like our starting five. I like Rubio, Hegseth, Vance, and no. Okay. You don't even have a starting five, Jessica. No, you don't. You're talking about your bench. You guys can't even get into warm ups. You guys can't even. Jessica, you guys are the lowest approval you've ever been in.
Dana Perino
30 years as an expert in riding the bench. Jesse has a point. So, Emily.
Greg Gutfeld
Don'T segue without me.
Dana Perino
I know. Do you think. I just have a feeling that they can't come back. They need a complete house cleaning. It's like that you need to. It's like when you do a gut renovation, you should just total the place.
Emily Compagno
It's like the juice cleanser on. Like you need to totally cleanse everything.
Dana Perino
You've outed your juice cleanse.
Greg Gutfeld
I do them too. It's no big deal.
Jessica Tarlov
It's time to.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah, it's good. Look, it's healthy.
Nate Foy
Have a reset.
Emily Compagno
Social media is a Frankenstein, right? Like it's a useful tool up until a certain point when it totally controls the user and it becomes this insatiable monster. Just today, my continuing legal education was on build success with an online presence. And my point is that the Democrat Party is now measuring leadership in likes, not legislation. This entire Crockett analysis exposes that their talent pool is influencer over intellect. It's TikTok over Truman. So this deep bench they're talking about, just pray the starters don't foul out so they don't even get there. It's a shallow bench of total misfit idiots that are chasing that dopamine hit rather than actually acknowledging their constituents. And I have to say too, that there's a big difference between constituents and followers that I think the Democrat Party doesn't realize. So the real question is, in my opinion, is how is the party going to handle their Instagram politicians? What are they going to do with Jazzy Crockett? Because if you saw in that article, interestingly, the ones on the record were like, she's great and she's a firebrand. Well, the ones off the record called her a headache, a loose cannon, undisciplined, and a whole host of other names. Which I think shows the reality that everyone thinks she's obnoxious. Everyone thinks that smarmy brand of dopamine chasing politician on the left like AOC and Eric Swalwell and all the stunts that they are all terrible. They're serving followers, not constituents. But it's up to the party then to regulate and discipline them because obviously we're just sitting back with popcorn watching our team win.
Dana Perino
Dana. So I would actually say that she might be the Democrats answer to a Trump where you see there you could, you can actually command attention by doing things with, you know, just personality. Except that she is to the left of the latest left. I mean, she like the, the last lefty was aoc, the squad. She's to the left of them when, when Trump came onto the scene and was brash and raw and more persuasive, say, than truthful, at least he was in the mainstream. So how can they use her as a leader if she's to the left of the left?
Jessica Tarlov
Also, he came to the candidacy with having built businesses, lost businesses, built them back up, had a family, had tragedies, met with people, knew the workers. He came with some wisdom and some experience and some age. And that's how you get that when you guys are talking about the bench, it just reminds me like, it's like the bench of the Washington Generals. They always lose. And all of the post mortem said, wow, I guess Democrats, you really should have like focused more on policy. But what do they do? They have somebody like her, she's fire, aim, then ready and she goes out. But I think that there's one part we haven't talked about this. First of all, the pic on my phone is of you. She tried to kill the story. Yeah, that's what gets to me. She wants all of the attention. So she's like, oh, they want to do a profile of me. So she participates. She goes on the record, she gives. She says, here's my contact list. Here's all the people you should call to talk about me. And then she finds out, oh, it might not be as positive. So what is the Democrats play? Censorship, Attentive censorship. She said, how dare you can't do this. She said, I want to retroactively take back my approval. So when I say that she comes to this without enough experience, that's just not how it works.
Nate Foy
Tasty.
Dana Perino
That's when you don't know what to say. You go Coming up, outrage after a horrifying brawl in Cincinnati that left a woman knocked out cold.

So a horrifying brawl in Cincinnati caught on tape and a graphic warning for you. It is hard to watch. Videos show a mob that was pummeling a man and later a woman and she got punched in the face, knocking her out cold. According to police, five people have been charged and more arrests are coming. The police chief says more than 100 people were watching and recording the fight on their phones, but only one called 911.
Greg Gutfeld
I think what they should be angry about is nobody called the police. That is unacceptable to not call the police. When you view this. Traffic was horrendous. People saw this.
Emily Compagno
They were fighting in front of traffic.
Greg Gutfeld
Why didn't somebody call us?
Jessica Tarlov
So now the FBI is involved. After Vice President J.D. vance demanded justice, you had a grown.
Jesse Watters
Man who sucker punched a middle aged woman.
Dana Perino
That person ought to go to jail.
Jesse Watters
For a very long time. And first, frankly, he's lucky there weren't some better people around because they would have handled it themselves.
Dana Perino
And the only way to destroy that.
Jesse Watters
Street violence is to take the thugs who engage in that violence and throw their ass in prison.
Jessica Tarlov
And I think that has. One of the frustrating things for people that live in the Cincinnati area, Greg, is that the arrests were slow to come and they're not sure about the process.
Dana Perino
I used to think that New York was the city of the free punch where somebody could walk up, slam their fist in your head and then he'd release an hour later. The police chief said was upset about this, the smartphone saying that like you're not getting the whole story. Didn't she say that?
Jessica Tarlov
I don't remember, but she did say.
Dana Perino
I thought we're going to play that.
Jessica Tarlov
They use their phones to.
Dana Perino
Yeah, she said that. I thought that was going to be in here. She said you have to look. She said you don't know the context of what happened. Well, she should have told us what the context is if you're gonna say that what we're seeing Isn't real. Then tell us what is real. You can't just say, my God, this is terrible. Social media makes everything worse. We know that. But it's interesting how the argument of context only goes in one direction. You know, no one cared about the context for the Covenant Kids. They charged Daniel Perry with. Daniel Perry with murder because they ignored the context completely that he was being a hero. We ignored the context for George Floyd. That is the lethal ingestion of drug. I wonder what the context for this will be. I'm sure it will come. I mean, there are people that are. That build context for October 7th. We saw hours of tape and there are people going, well, in the context of the political situation in the Middle East.
Greg Gutfeld
Shut up.
Dana Perino
Shut up.
Jessica Tarlov
Emily. What about the investigation from here and how there's so many people and there's obviously a lot of eyewitnesses. They are collecting all the digital data, but in the meantime, you've got people who are victims of a very serious crime.
Emily Compagno
Yeah. And respectfully, I mean, I think context mattered totally in Daniel Penny and Sandman and all those things. No context. And I'm speaking to the police chief now, Chief Terry. No context deserves or justifies that. That is not a brawl. That is not a fight. That is a savage beatdown by a mob. That is an assault. That is an attack. And that is hard to watch. Kicking someone in the head is its own felony. And interestingly, there's a pattern here in this country of charging police officers with kicking suspects in the head. 2017. In fact, just last year in Glendale, an officer was facing three years in jail for that. So I wonder, will the enhancements, will we see that here? Because Ohio State has a law about complicity where if you are part of a beatdown of a group beat down, then everyone is responsible for whatever the charges are that is videoed or actually proven. So all of them, in my opinion, should be charged with attempted murder. Because we know too that there are one punch murders and you add in the kicking and the beating when they're down of a single mother. Nothing justifies or excuses that. And I wonder too, in just musing here about the penalty for the fact that there's reward in addition to dopamine, of posting social videos of this social media. So maybe, you know, I'm not for overregulation, but I wonder if there should be a law against posting violence for sheer joy, because that's clearly what these monsters were doing. And I am glad, by the way, that the feds are keeping an eye on This. I do not trust that local situation or that police chief to actually do the right thing and hold these people accountable, even though we're going to be paying for them to enjoy three square meals a day in jail forever, because they are not worth even $1 of our time. And I don't know if you guys have the same, but there's a few people that were attacked like that where I was growing up, and they were never, ever the same physically, ever.
Jessica Tarlov
Oh, yeah. Interesting.
Nate Foy
Jessica would echo the sentiments from around the table. It looks like the context of that I read somewhere that they were having some sort of shouting match. I don't know how that would justify what then went on to happen to these people. That particular riverfront area, I read, has seen a 25% spike in violent crime, whereas the trends are downward on a nationwide level. Chief Terry should really look into what's going on in that specific area. If this is a gang that's around all the time causing havoc, if there are multiple, I feel terrible. I hope that they make a full physical recovery. But in terms of mental health, there's no way that you're ever the same. And, you know, you read about this and consume content about it, and people just live in fear constantly of what's around a corner that they're about to turn.
Jessica Tarlov
Bill Hemmer's a native of Cincinnati, and as of this morning, he said that the mayor, who I guess is out of town as a lot of people are on vacations, had only issued one paper statement, and there was no other information that had come out.
Jesse Watters
Yeah, if it wasn't for Fox, no one would talk about it. You got to separate the woman getting sucker punched with the guy. So the guy that hit the woman, obviously, he's disgusting. He's a coward. He wasn't raised properly or raised at all, and he needs to go to prison for a very long time. But the context, I think the police chief was talking about it. I saw the video, which started a little bit earlier, and the white guy was squaring up with a couple guys, and he was squaring up like they were gonna go at it. And then a couple guys came in and tried to squash it, and then the white guy reached over and slapped the guy's face, and then he just got pounded. Now, no one deserves to get kicked in the head like that. That's not appropriate. That's not even the way you street fight. You don't do that. The guy's vulnerable. He's not protecting himself. You can't gang up on him like that. Okay, okay, Rambo, everybody knows this, Correct. But, you know, it's 3 o' clock in the morning and you're downtown and you're drunk and you have a woman with you and you're at a R and B fest in inner city Cincinnati. Now, I don't know what started it, whether he was defending his honor or hers or he got. He bit off some more than he could chew. But that's not a good situation to be. You got to use common sense in that situation. And I'm just glad he's okay. You got to see the video. Guy should have walked away surrounded by guys like that at 3 o' clock in the morning. No, it's a fight you can't win.
Dana Perino
I think when Netflix does the series on this, they're going to have the crowds, the crowd's going to be white, the victims will be black. So we'll see a whole new straighten it out. Yeah, they'll straighten it out.
Jessica Tarlov
All right. Coming up, the senator who cried Abrego stages another ice protest.
Jesse Watters
I know she's got you in a little drunk whirlwind from man to man. Nobody likes your girlfriend.
Greg Gutfeld
My name is Nicole.
Jessica Tarlov

Well, cue the liberal tears. A group of Maryland Democrats staged a sit in after they claimed they were blocked from entering an ICE facility in Baltimore. And they say bad things are happening behind closed doors.
Dana Perino
Bad things happen behind closed doors and.
Jesse Watters
Their decisions to do illegal activities and.
Greg Gutfeld
Ignore the Constitution, the shame that our country will carry as a result of this conduct and so many other things will last for generations.
Emily Compagno
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is shining a light on the, quote, monsters Democrats are fighting for migrants arrested for rape and child sex abuse, among other crimes. Jessica? No, I come to you to ask, I think, the obvious question, which is why are they endeavoring to protect rapists and child rapists and not their constituents and not Americans like, don't they just see in this one that's not the right team to play for?
Nate Foy
I don't think that any of them would say that they are trying to protect rapists. Andrego Garcia was a constituent of Senator Van Hollen. And the right continues to say he went down there and he sipped margaritas. But now that the 250 Venezuelans who have Gotten out of seekot are telling the story of what went on during their 120, 125 days there. You know, just how dangerous and.
Jesse Watters
And we're going to take them at their word.
Nate Foy
Oh, you wait. You don't think that they were abused by guards down there? You don't believe.
Greg Gutfeld
No.
Jesse Watters
You don't believe everything you hear on TV from criminal, illegal aliens.
Nate Foy
That's not true. Your makeup artist that you make fun of. Not a criminal. He went there because of tattoos that you make up artists.
Jesse Watters
You mean Jojo? Jojo is an American citizen.
Nate Foy
Listen, when Van Hollen. When Van Hollen went down to El Salvador, that is when Donald Trump's approval rating on immigration turned. That's just the facts. Now, he is 10 to 15 points underwater in the Wall Street Journal poll, which you were bragging about yesterday. 58% oppose mass deportations without due process and sending migrants to countries they aren't from. They're sending people to South Sudan who are.
Jesse Watters
What are you polling at? You always mention Trump. You're 20 points below whatever Trump is doing. By the way, Van Hylen's the guy. We call him Hale and lovingly.
Nate Foy
No one does.
Jesse Watters
I do. And remember when people used to just show up at your house? Remember? They didn't call, they would just knock and you'd be like, freaking out. No one does that anymore. He's that guy. It's not 1975. You call ahead, you make an appointment, and Kristi Noem will let you tour the facility. That's how it works now. And I say this, don't I?
Nate Foy
Just.
Jesse Watters
With brutal honesty. Jessica, the American people don't care that much how we're treating these people before we ship them out of the country, back home. We want them treated humanely. Don't get me wrong, but this is not high on our list of priorities, how some criminal, illegal, rapist, trafficker, or wife abuser is being housed for three weeks before they get on a plane back to El Salvador. We have a lot of other priorities, okay? That is not one of them.
Emily Compagno
Okay, so if oversight is the goal, then why are we subjected to this theater? Why isn't Van Halen writing legislation instead of chaining himself to a tree?
Jessica Tarlov
Well, we love a good double down. And this is what's happened. The Democrats have made fighting for criminal illegal immigrants part of their core resistance. I agree. I've been saying for a while, if you are concerned, not about the four that they just mentioned with all the sex crimes, but if you are concerned about the person or the dreamer or the person who's been here 20 years and has worked at the farm. If you ask Trump for a meeting, go and ask for the meeting. He's never been more able to be able to say, come on in. I'll talk to you. He'll talk to any. He'll talk to you. If you will go in there with a legitimate reason, something backing it up, as long as it's not for criminal. Criminal elements of the society.
Emily Compagno
I just find it rich, Greg, that none of them will meet with angel families, those constituents, but they'll sit margs with ones in El Salvador.
Nate Foy
Why not a margarita, Whatever.
Dana Perino
Well, it doesn't matter. When this first started, I said. I said there were 300 million people in this country and the Democrats care about one guy. We're now at the end of July, and they're still talking about Obrega Garcia as though he's Jesus Christ, Mohammed and Mahatma Gandhi rolled into one. No man has ever gotten this much attention for doing so little. And what he has done is so awful. We don't. Jesse, for once, is right. We don't care. There's a study of young men, Dana, control yourself. Think tank found that in a study of young men, they struggled to name one masculine leader in the Democrat Party. They said, the Republican Party is the party that best represents the interests of men. This is why. And it's not just the people, it's the policies pushed by the people. We don't put interests of Abrego Garcia or illegal aliens over the interests of our family. If you're a husband or a father, you have hard and fast rules about security. Your ability to support your family is not helped by cultural warfare, transgenderism and outrage theater. That's why when you see this, you go, yeah, you know what? We elected Trump to be the adult in the room. And I get it. You know, things are going to be unappealing at times in this process, but hard choices aren't pretty. I'm okay with that. Yeah, maybe there's some things that don't go exactly perfect, but that's why you need an adult to do that. Trump is the only person, the only leader who would take the slings and arrows and do the things that no one else would do. And the reason why they wouldn't do it is because of this criticism. My God, you are xenophobic. You hate everybody. You're gonna get this person killed. What about o', Brien, Garcia? Trump's like, I don't care. The American people want me to do this because they want their cities to be safer. They want their wages to be higher. They want to have jobs. Why are you on the side of illegal aliens, especially ones that commit crime? It makes no sense.
Emily Compagno
No sense. But this will the fastest, which is coming up next.
Greg Gutfeld

Welcome back. Is your child a terror? Maybe it's your parenting parents are out with the soft, gentle approach and they're in with the F around. And find out. Greg, what's your style at home?
Dana Perino
I have an eight month old baby, so I have no wisdom on parenting. I'm sorry.
Greg Gutfeld
60.
Dana Perino
I got a bit that's like me moving to London and suddenly I speak with an accent and I have a monocle.
Nate Foy
You have a lot of children.
Jesse Watters
Yeah, I do. Jesse Jr. Is giving us trouble at the beach over the weekend. And he just wanted ice cream. And you got to wait till the bell rings. And then when we said stop asking, he kept asking for ice cream over and over. When they start saying I want, I want, I want, I get angry. So I said, if you say I want one more time, you're in trouble. He said it. I picked him up and I put him in the dunes like 30, 40 yards away from our place. And you know what happens? I got back to my beach chair. I turn around and a bunch of kids are playing baseball with them.
Greg Gutfeld
Yeah.
Jesse Watters
And so it ruined the timeout. So next time I'm taking him and I'm throwing him under the gazebo where no one can find him.
Nate Foy
We don't have enough time. We gotta go. Bye.
Emily Compagno
It was all a joke. That was a joke, Jesse, right?
Nate Foy
Yeah. I mean, maybe. Wait, Dana, wait. One more thing's up next.

Podcast Summary: "The Five" – Episode Released July 29, 2025
Introduction In the July 29, 2025 episode of "The Five" hosted by FOX News Podcasts, hosts Jesse Watters, Emily Compagno, Jessica Tarlov, Dana Perino, and Greg Gutfeld delve into several pressing issues, including a tragic shooting in New York City, debates on gun control and policing, political commentary on Democratic leadership, and a violent incident in Cincinnati. The discussion is marked by robust debates, notable quotes, and in-depth analysis of current events shaping the national discourse.
Incident Overview The episode opens with a somber report on a fatal shooting at a midtown office building in New York City. On-air reporter Nate Foy provides detailed coverage:
Nate Foy [01:31]: "An associate of the perpetrator purchased part of the weapons used in the attack."
The gunman, Shane Tamura, arrived from Las Vegas and targeted the office building, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including an off-duty NYPD officer, Dideroul Islam. Tamura ultimately took his own life, leaving a note expressing his intent to have his brain tested for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
Motivations and Investigation Mayor Adams revealed that Tamura was driven by grievances against the National Football League (NFL) and his belief in having CTE, a degenerative brain disease. Additionally, authorities discovered a note suggesting that Tamura may have received assistance in procuring the firearm:
Greg Gutfeld [01:35]: "He also purchased the firearm that was found in the car by using a carry permit that he received in Nevada."
Two investigative teams have been dispatched to Las Vegas to further examine the circumstances surrounding the purchase and support for the gunman.
Victims and Community Impact The victims include security guards Alainde Etienne and Dideroul Islam, Wesley Lapatner, and another individual from Reudin Management. A vigil is scheduled for the victims at Bryant Park, underscoring the community's response to the tragedy.
Dana Perino [06:14]: "Jessica, there are 25% more violent crimes in this specific area, whereas the trends are downward on a nationwide level."
Hosts' Perspectives The panel engages in a heated discussion about the implications of the shooting on gun control and law enforcement policies:
Greg Gutfeld [03:33]: "This is happening because there are still assault weapons in our country."
Dana Perino [03:42]: "Thoughts and prayers alone... We owe them action."
Gun Control Arguments Dana Perino criticizes existing gun control laws, arguing that they fail to deter individuals intent on committing violence:
Dana Perino [04:17]: "Gun control laws do not discourage people who plan on killing others and killing themselves."
She emphasizes the challenges law-abiding citizens face due to restrictive gun laws, which she believes do not prevent determined criminals.
Policing and Community Safety Emily Compagno highlights the valor of NYPD officers, particularly commending Officer Islam's service:
Emily Compagno [08:19]: "Officer Islam paid with his life... Officer Islam now leaves behind three children."
She advocates for increased funding and support for police forces to ensure the safety and protection of communities.
Deep Bench Criticism The conversation shifts to a critical examination of the Democratic Party's leadership and candidate pool. Jessica Tarlov and Greg Gutfeld express skepticism about the party's ability to present strong candidates:
Greg Gutfeld [14:06]: "The left needs a new hero... There's a bucket load of talent coming online."
Jessica Tarlov [16:29]: "Jessica, you guys can't even get into warm ups. You guys can't even. Jessica, you guys are the lowest approval you've ever been in."
Influencer Over Politicians Debate Emily Compagno argues that the Democratic Party prioritizes social media influence over substantive legislative experience:
Emily Compagno [19:42]: "The Democrat Party is now measuring leadership in likes, not legislation."
She criticizes figures like Jasmine Crockett, labeling them as "dopamine-chasing politicians" who lack genuine connection with their constituents.
Lack of Policy Focus Dana Perino underscores the need for the Democratic Party to focus more on policy rather than personality-driven politics:
Dana Perino [17:55]: "Are they waiting for the right time to dump the bucket over our head like it's Gatorade on a sideline?"
She advocates for a more substantive approach to leadership that prioritizes effective governance over populist appeal.
Incident Report The panel addresses a recent violent brawl in Cincinnati captured on video, which resulted in a woman being knocked unconscious. Jessica Tarlov provides a graphic description of the event:
Jessica Tarlov [24:04]: "Videos show a mob that was pummeling a man and later a woman, and she got punched in the face, knocking her out cold."
Police have charged five individuals, with more arrests anticipated. The hosts express frustration over bystanders' inaction during the incident.
Host Reactions and Analysis Greg Gutfeld criticizes the public's failure to report the assault:
Greg Gutfeld [24:28]: "I think what they should be angry about is nobody called the police. That is unacceptable to not call the police."
Dana Perino emphasizes the severity of the assault and questions the adequacy of the legal response:
Dana Perino [26:44]: "I wonder if there should be a law against posting violence for sheer joy."
Police Accountability and Justice Emily Compagno advocates for holding the perpetrators accountable, suggesting enhanced penalties for such violent acts:
Emily Compagno [26:56]: "No context deserves or justifies that. That is a savage beatdown by a mob. That is an assault."
Jessica Tarlov highlights the emotional and psychological trauma inflicted on the victims, stressing the need for justice and support.
Democratic Actions and Criticism The hosts critique Democratic efforts to protect certain illegal immigrants accused of serious crimes, questioning the party's priorities:
Dana Perino [33:16]: "We're now at the end of July, and they're still talking about Obrega Garcia as though he's Jesus Christ."
Greg Gutfeld mocks the Democratic response to ICE facilities, emphasizing the perceived disregard for American constituents:
Greg Gutfeld [32:46]: "Ignore the Constitution, the shame that our country will carry as a result of this conduct."
Policy Debates The discussion includes debates over the humane treatment of migrants and the effectiveness of current immigration policies. Emily Compagno contrasts Democratic focus on migrant protections with Republican emphasis on security and constituent interests:
Emily Compagno [36:14]: "You have to use common sense in that situation. And I'm just glad he's okay. You got to see the video."
Final Host Interactions As the episode nears its end, hosts engage in light-hearted banter and personal anecdotes, maintaining the show's dynamic and engaging atmosphere. Jesse Watters shares a personal story about disciplining his child, reflecting the hosts' blend of serious discussion and relatable moments.
