Someone asked, what would you do to start a pillow business today? And what pillow do you use?

Meaning I don't ever complain or think so. That's where I am with pillow. If I start a pillow company, I would produce 30 pieces of content a day and post it on organically on social.

If you had to grow a local service business from zero today, with almost no marketing budget, what would you spend your first 90 days doing?

Never. I've never thought I'd got going out of business because I've never overextended myself to put me in a place of business. And my great gift in life is I've always known how to make money. So my issue is not selling and making money in. It would be spending too much money against how much money I brought in. I've always been financially disciplined because I was an immigrant. That helped me because naturally I think I could be a little loose. But I've never taken the kind of risks that could put me out of business. And I've always had the capacity to get dollars in, so I've never gone through that. What's going on with the magazines? 55 magazines ready to go. Excuse me. Here we go. Everybody. 55 magazines are pinned to the bottom. Everybody get your second for your entrepreneurial friend or get your first. Or if you're in, flip Life. Grab them, everybody. They're at the bottom. Gary, what is the biggest risk you've taken that's become a success? What comes to mind? I'm sure there's many.

When I invested in Facebook and used all of my savings, literally worked 12, literally worked 31, literally worked nine years of my life getting paid dick shit by my dad, Lived even less than dick shit to have savings and then bet the farm on Twitter and Facebook. All of it liquidated at 30. At 32 years old. So basically, I had no. Just on the record, everyone. I had no savings at 32 years old after building a massive business for my father. I had no savings at 32 years old. Think about that.

How did the investment go?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

It went well. Reps quite well. Very well.

How do you advise people start to learn to use.

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

But when you actually can calibrate losing like this is going to work, not work out financially, emotionally, reputationally, I'm gonna break my heart. I'm gonna lose a lot of money in my bank account. When you go to the side, when you go like dark for a Second when you like go Darth Vader for a second, like I go like, I'm very optimistic, like an otter, but I go Darth Vader for a second and make pretend it's gonna lose. Then once I do that and I feel it, then I'm ready to do it because I ain't scared of shit. The reason most of you fail is, is because you're scared of the failure. The reason I'm always winning is because I've already accepted the failure. Yeah, that's it. That was good. I've already accepted it being a failure. It's really like that, y'. All.

How many views or comments is doing well organically giving you like enough insight to know to put money towards it?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

I think it depends on the context of what you're trying to accomplish. Brand building, you know, tens of thousands sales, it could be 100. It might just work. And selling, it's relative.

And it's relative to your account.

It's relative. Your account, it's relative to your business. Like if you're selling concrete and you're repaving people's pavement in a local area, you might get 237 views and that might actually do well as an ad in a 5 mile radius. And you might get 3 driveways for $15. In ads.

Six people have asked me about, do I have adhd? I have no idea, guys. I fucking was born in the 80s. We didn't diagnose this bullshit, motherfuckers. I grew up in the 80s in Jersey in a lower middle class neighborhood. You think they fucking diagnosed this shit? The pharmaceutical companies didn't get in the bag yet to sell us shit. I'm an 80s kid. Who the fuck you think you're talking to? I ain't Gen Z, dick. Who the fuck knows what I have? I don't even think about that shit. Labeling is destroying you. I'm meeting all these people like, oh, I'm 55, I'm adult ADHD. I'm like, who gives a fuck? People are looking for labels often to create the excuse of why the thing hasn't happened. Yeah, you guys want to go deep with me? Do we want to go there? People are looking for labels the same way people use the word perfection. You're a juggler. You have 13 businesses. How do you decide what takes priority in the day to day of your businesses?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

June, June 2017. Nine years ago, you're on the Entrepreneur magazine cover for the first time. What feels different to you this time around in 2026? What's the different feeling of you being on the COVID the first time versus second time? You're now a two time cover athlete. Longevity?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

I would say not much. I feel like at the point when I was on Entrepreneur the last time I was already deep in my career. Like it wasn't like I would say the press I got in my early 20s was really fancy and fun. Whiz kid, wine boy, all that stuff. I think the press that I get now, you know, I feel inherently underrated right now. So I'm really happy. Maha and the team at Digital Savvy deserve like they know that I'm really trying to like at some point get the right story out because I think I'm fascinated by how many people underestimate what I'm actually doing as a businessman. And I don't need it for me, which is why I haven't been focused on it for 10 years. I need it for my audience because I think once they understand that I'm not a mascot or a motivational speaker or content creator, it gives them more fuel to follow the tried and true principles of hard work, kindness, patience, empathy, creativity, curiosity, tenacity. And so I think it gives more credence. And I think they know about the monies and the followers, but I don't think they understand about the magnitude of the work. And I think that for a certain group that will inspire them.

Someone asked, do you think that people burn out because they work too much or they don't work enough on what gets them going?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

Number two, I think they're doing the wrong. Nobody has ever burned out in the history of careers when they loved what they did. Has not happened. There's been zero burnout of people who. Oh man. Scouse and House. I. If you think that that's where I was going with what I was saying, that's absolutely not what I'm saying is that somebody saying in the chat or scouse, you think that's what I'm saying about people with adhd? Because I think you're incredibly bro. You complete. I'm sorry. Clearly I did not communicate anybody who's. First of all that there is no blanket statement of what people are. You don't need my validation. Scoose in the house for what I think or don't think you should give a fuck about. No, no. I said many people weaponize labels to hide behind their insecurities or things they don't want to do. You're more than capable of understanding who you are. I'm not talking in. I'm talking in generalizations and trends in market. I don't know you. I have no idea who you are. We don't know each other. Right. And please, please, please, I have no interest. Let this be very clear. I'm going to put this on wax so it can be clipped forever. My subjective opinion means nothing for the rest of all time, especially if I've never met you. But let there be no confusion, I'm incredibly upset with people weaponizing labels for excuses and laziness, which then make it harder, my friend, for us to help people like you that actually have it. It's very hard to help so many people in the world that have actual mental health when millions of people are weaponizing mental health to disguise their laziness or their entitlement. That's what I'm fucking angry about. And while I've got all 800 of you here, never look for another man's or woman's validation through their words to justify what you feel in your soul. All right. Listen, even though I'm pretty Numb to my accomplishments and roses. There's also the contradiction part of me that's just like, this is so cool. Can you imagine 8 year old me on a lemonade stand if the God of the future, if she came down and said, little boy, you're gonna be on the COVID of the premier, kind of like entrepreneur magazine. Yeah, of course I'm always humbled, but I'll be honest with you, this is remarkable and feels amazing to me. Let there be no confusion. And this is real talk. This is not hyperbole. The hundreds of you that I saw at Fanatics Fest this weekend that came up close to me and whispered like, you got me out of a dark place or your piece of content got me to quit a job and my life is much better or I make much more money because of you and I can provide for my family and I'm helping my dad who has heavy medical bills. It is because of you. And then I always say it's because of you because it's true. I'm spitting my stuff. Most of you don't take my advice. A small percentage of you execute on it. There is no question to me that the people that come up to me and say that my words have had a positive impact on the course of their life. Every individual stranger's one interaction with me, saying that to me is dramatically more impactful and feels better to me than being on the COVID of Entrepreneur magazine. Entrepreneur magazine for me is selfish. When one is telling me that that means I accomplished a selfless act. And there's, I promise you, the biggest reason so many of you are not accomplishing what you want is you spend way too much time on what you selfishly want and almost no time to how you can be of service. Selflessness. In fact, many of you, when you open this box right here, right here, I hope you get a selfless sloth because it's one of the most important characters in Vee Friends, the selfless sloth.

Gary, do you still invest the same way you invest in Twitter, Uber, etc.

Not as much. Right now I'm predominantly investing in collectibles. You know, I texted, I texted Rips about a week ago and I've dropped like 100k on a very new thesis of mine on physical collectibles. I also bought. Oh, you want to know, Jess? I'll tell you, I'll tell you later. I'm very bullish on. I want to just keep buying my friends. Nft. It's like a, like, it's almost like a stock buyback. I believe in myself the most. I'm very bullish on comics. I'm very bullish on collectibles. I believe collectibles are inches away. We're now in the red zone. We're not at the 50 yard line. Collectibles is joining music, fashion, sports, travel, food as the next lifestyle genre. Everybody's gonna be talking about it. Labubus handbags, vintage clothes.

Because nothing matters to me. None of it matters. What do you mean by that? I feel no pressure from all these things that mean nothing.

I'm telling you the truth. It was obviously obnoxious and inappropriate, but I'm just telling. I really want everyone to understand, like, where I was at at 14. I literally was insanely weird. I mean, you get to see my little guy right now and he's nothing. He had a very different life. Not that he's nothing. He's like, he's just, he's just living a different life than me. And like, I came in crazy.

When you walked into the store at 14, did you think that you had would end up here with 13 businesses doing a ton of different things?

[Gary Vaynerchuk]

No.

Did you think it was going to be business?

No. I thought I was going to own a baseball card store at 14, I thought I was going to own a baseball card at 17 years old. I thought I was going to build the Toys R Us of wine stores, that I would have 400 wine libraries around the country at 20, I thought I was going to build the biggest e commerce wine business at 56 you? I don't know. I'm only 50.
