It's good. That's great. Keep it up. So anyway, I. Last night I wrote a. I wrote a speech for what I hope the President will say. If I were writing the speech for Donald Trump, I want to share it with you. This is what I would have him come out and say. My fellow Americans, today we stand together at the dawn of a new chapter in our nation's history. This moment is not just about a new administration. It is about a new commitment to the founding principles that built this republic. It's about the restoration of power to where it rightly belongs, with you, the American people. Far too long, our government has drifted from its purpose. Too often, it's overreached, overtaxed, overspent, and overwhelmed the very citizens it was created to serve. Today, that era of excess ends. The time has come to Reaffirm the truth that our rights come not from government, but from God. Government doesn't create. It can't invent, it can't inspire. Its role is not to command, but protect, to preserve the freedoms that allow you, to build your dreams for you, to raise your family and you to live your life without interference. For decades, the bloated federal bureaucracy has grown unchecked, sapping the vitality of our economy and the strength of our communities. Departments that were meant to have help have become barriers to progress. Agencies designed to protect have too often been punished and punishing the very people they exist to serve. But today, I pledge to you to dismantle what has become an unaccountable administrative state and are going to begin with closing the Department of Education, returning its power of teaching our children to the parents, to the local communities, to the state government where it belongs. Washington, D.C. has no business deciding what our children learn or how they're taught. But I'm not going to stop there. Any department or agency that is ineffective, inefficient, or usurps the rights of the states or the people will face the same scrutiny and same end. The balance of power shifts has shifted too far from the people to the unlected, unofficial, unelected officials who believe they answer to no one. So let me be clear. They answer to the president. And as your chief executive, I answer to you. The administrative state will be reduced in size and scope. Those who think today that they can outlast this administration and maintain the status quo will find that the days of faceless power are over. Now. The national debt, it's a silent thief. That's all it is, robbing future generations of their prosperity. Overspending has put us on a perilous path, and no responsible leader can allow it to. We will balance the federal budget by making government smaller, smarter and more focused. Programs that don't deliver results are going to be eliminated. Fraud, waste and abuse will be rooted out. And as we reduce the size of government, we are going to unleash the potential of the private sector to drive innovation, create jobs and build wealth. To those who say it can't be done, I say this. Watch us. This is not a time for excuses, but bold action. We are going to leave our children not a legacy of debt, but a legacy of opportunity. Now, no American who abides by our laws should ever live in fear of the government. But today, far too many Americans do. Whether it's political persecution, administrative overreach, or an unbalanced justice system, many have been silenced or crushed by the weight of this government that was supposed to serve them. I'm going to ensure that justice is blind, fair, and free from political influence. Those who broke our laws on either side of the aisle, they will be held accountable. But let me also say this political persecution will end on my watch. It has no place in a free society. We're going to restore common law in our courtrooms, common sense in our schools, and common decency in our public discourse. We're going to ensure that the Bill of Rights is not just words on paper, but a living promise to every American. A nation without borders, a nation without laws is a nation that does not exist. For far too long, our borders have been porous, leaving us vulnerable to the trafficking of drugs, children and human lives. Lives. This is not compassion. This is chaos. And it ends now. We're gonna secure our borders. We're going to enforce our laws. We are going to deport those who have entered illegally. And to the cartels that profit from this evil. Consider this your notice. Comply with our laws, or we will destroy your operation with a full might and power of the United States. Every American has a right to feel safe in their home, their neighborhood and their community. We're going to ensure that law enforcement has the tools and support they need to do their jobs. And we will back the blue. We're also going to end the endless wars abroad because they've drained our resources and diverted our focus from our own people. We're going to bring our troops home from the conflicts all over the world. We're going to stop sending money to Ukraine. We're not going to send troops to the Middle East. We're going to stand firm against tyranny. Mark my words. But we're not going to waste American lives and treasures on war that doesn't serve our national interest. We're going to confront evil where exists. But we're going to do it with clarity, strength and purpose. And we will do it quickly and come home. We will no longer coexist with those who traffic in human misery at any level or seek to destroy the innocent. America will lead the world by example, not by endless entanglements. And to those despots, terrorists and simple opportunists, understand this. The blue American passport means something again. Beginning today. It means the holder is an American citizen now. Citizens should know that this government works for them. But if they enter a foreign country, they need to know. They need to abide by that country's laws. But those countries or individuals, groups that do not care about international Law understand that if you take, hurt or kill an American citizen, you should begin to count your life in days, hours and minutes. Because the blue passport means American protection and power. For every citizen you take, our citizens, you will pay the ultimate price without delay and without any mercy. Domestically, this is a moment of healing. Our wounds and division have scarred our nation. They haven't broken us, but they've scarred us. To those who have felt forgotten, I want you to know today I see you. To those who have felt silenced, I hear you. And to those who have lost faith in the promise of America, I pledge to you to do everything in my power to restore it. We're not a country defined by the bitterness of the past, but by the possibilities of the future. Together, we will renew the spirit of our nation. Together, we will rekindle the flame of freedom that has always guided us. Today, we need to remember who we are. We are the heirs of pioneers and builders and dreamers. We're a nation of liberty and opportunity, of faith and courage. This is your country. Its future is in your hands. It's not the government, but you, the workers, the dreamers, the parents, the patriots. You are the engine of this nation. So, as Lincoln said, let us heal the wounds of this division with the balm of unity. Let's speak to one another with respect, debate with civility, and strive together for the common good. The challenges before us are great, but so is our resolve. The promise of America is alive, and our best days are yet to come. Together, we will and can build a nation that is stronger, freer and more prosperous than ever before. We just need to rise above our differences and unite in a common purpose. Let us be a government that works for the people, not against them. Let's be a nation that inspires the world, not through dominance, but through our example. The work ahead isn't going to be easy, but nothing worth it ever is. Together, we're going to reclaim the promise of America. Not just for ourselves, but also for our children and their children and their children's children. Today marks the beginning of a new golden age for our nation. So in. Here's another thing everybody kept saying. The, the last time this happened was with Ronald Reagan in 1984. 1985. Yeah. The last time that they went inside was 1985. You know, the only time they went and held it outdoors prior to that was 1981.

Yeah. It was always inside the rotunda. And Reagan had it moved or somebody had it moved to the steps of the Capitol outside so more people could come the very next time. They were like, you know, it's a little chilly.

In fact, I was talking to some guys that are in the military, and we saw the motorcade a couple of times last night. It's. He's not in the Beast yet, but he is traveling around in black US Government armored vehicles. And they all have an electronic device up on top of the vehicles that military people say they've only seen in Iraq. And it stops all drones. It just disables.

Yes, Ronald Reagan did move the inauguration and he did it in a populist direction. He's the first one to move it to the west side of the Capitol facing the National Mall with that big beautiful shot. So you've seen outdoor inaugurations before. You can see the old photograph of Lincoln, second inaugural booth is in the crowd, all right. As Calvin Coolidge. But it was always facing east Capitol. It was even harder to get a ticket back then.

Snoop Dogg performing at these events. It is. The whole thing has changed. And actually for the first time, my first inauguration, I attended in person. Also very cold, was George W. Bush's second inaugural. And the big difference here is how hard it's been to get a ticket to anything. D.C. thrives off of free tickets. People in D.C. don't like, they spend your on a million dollars.

Lord knows they're not spending their money getting the party this year. They can't because Silicon Valley, corporate America, everyone's ponied up. $200 million raised for a $50 million event that's been canceled. All of those tickets have evaporated, they've gone away and they've gone to people who've paid for them, which, you know, it's a wonderful thing to have a sold out event, but it is tough for us guys here in D.C. who just like a free, a free beer.

Right. I have to tell you, the, the change is absolutely remarkable. I attended the YouTube, I don't even know what they called it, get together. There's about 30 YouTubers that were influencers, that were invited. And I'm standing there and the CEO of YouTube comes up, very nice guy, but he tells me about, you don't know how hard it's been to hold the line, you know, there at YouTube to keep, you know, keep things going. And you guys are really important. I thought to myself, wow, everything has changed. I'm hearing the President of YouTube tell me about how hard it was to hold the line on, on freedom of speech. I didn't expect that one coming and I didn't, I don't think anybody in the room expected to be sitting in the room with YouTube, I don't know, and hearing praise just six months ago. But here we are and it's wonderful.

And in 2017, I went to a party with Facebook that we threw with the Daily Caller for the inauguration and it was a grim, even though it was a great success as far as any kind of event goes, it was a grim atmosphere for the employees and it was the last thing that they did with conservatives for years and years after. Oh yeah, because of the revolt and one of the things that Trump will hopefully be able to accomplish, and Bill Barr gave a hint of this at the end of Trump's first term, which is penalizing and going after companies that discriminate against white men as calling that racial discrimination. No need to change any laws. These things are already on the books. A lot of these CEOs, they're just, they're risk averse. So when they're faced with an angry HR department run by woke college graduates, they just kind of run away. This sort of thing, this sort of action will give them the legal tools to say no. And they don't have to be the bad guy. They can say, it's not my fault.

And I don't think they would have wanted to say no a few years ago, but they now see that they are run. They're running with a pack of revolutionaries. They're not afraid of Donald Trump as much as they're afraid of their own employees and what those employees can do to their companies. And they're trying to, you know, run for cover as much as they possibly can. But again, you know, I really don't think that. I think people like Mark Zuckerberg, I hate to say this, but I think he's a coward and he's using the COVID of Elon Musk and others to go, hey, hey, the world's changing, the world's changing. He's got to get away from these revolutionaries that are in his company, but they're the ones who actually run it. And I think they're afraid.

He wants to be liked. I mean, that's his whole thing. That's Facebook's whole thing. He wants to be liked and is even during the darkest days of Facebook censorship, he was always trying to get up ahead and blame other people for it. So he set up the whole outside fact checkers department so he would said, unlike Early Twitter. I'm not going to do the fact checking. It's not my fault someone else did it. Some nonprofit funded in Europe is fact checking American articles at the Blaze and trying to shut them down for printing entirely true things. And he's kind of maybe like a techno libertarian futurist in a way. Not.

He's not ideological like Jeff Bezos might be. He's someone who's just trying to thread that needle, and because of that and the cowardice with it, he's ended up making everyone upset.

Yeah. So let's just Talk, just for 30 seconds, about TikTok. TikTok is, the president has now said a delay on the implementation of a law that was passed by Congress. I don't know how you do that through executive order, but he's delaying it. How do you feel about TikTok?
Chris Bedford
I mean, I think that TikTok is generally brain rot. And I would love those sorts of things to not be allowed in general. But what the law that Congress passed is so narrow, it just says, hey, you can have TikTok. It just can't be controlled by the Chinese military. And that seems like a pretty basic thing. And so many people have been obfuscating on that. But at the same time, Donald Trump got more impressions on TikTok with his videos and the things he put out than on any other social media platform. It's something that he said, all right, fine. It's a weapon against the American people. It's spying on them. All of big tech spying on the American people and weaponized against them, as we've learned. But he's going to try, and I suspect he'll try to thread the needle on doing the art of the deal here where he gets someone to buy TikTok to take his hands off it. He says, look, I've preserved TikTok. I've allowed it, but you have to force that sale. Congress and Supreme Court have backed it.

So let's turn to what happened just this morning. I mean, Joe Biden, even if he knows he's still President of the United States and knows that, you know what the name of shoes are, it would surprise me. But again, in just shocking news, he pardoned Everybody part of January 6th. All of the police officers that testified he pardoned Fauci. I mean, everyone just this morning, say.

Involved in January 6th. You mean the January 6th committee?

Yeah, the committee, yeah. No one was involved. Yeah. Nobody. Nobody was actually in parading. Right. All those grand, you know, grandparents and all those old ladies there, they should rot in jail. But anybody that was on the committee.

He went deep on this. Again, there's no real reason to believe something like this could even hold up. I don't. I don't think it holds up to scrutiny. I don't think you can just pardon people for.

So get your butt in front of Congress or you will be arrested. Because the last administration set the precedent that if you, if you defy Congress, you are under arrest and going to prison. Put them out in front of these, in front of the committees and get to the bottom of it.

Up to 200 executive orders are happening today. That is an extraordinary number of executive orders. I do not like executive orders being the. The way of. The way of governing. But. But he's mainly undoing everything that has been done to this country by Joe Biden.

I do feel like it would be worth pursuing some of these changes in with Congress. But when, when a bunch of really egregious things happen in, in this previous administration, the only way to quickly reverse the damage is to do it by executive order. And if it was put in by executive order, you can do it that way. When it's a law, you have to go through Congress. So that's a different story. But most of this stuff isn't. These aren't laws. These are just terrible things that Biden's done.

And I mean, and we were talking about this before. I mean, it is certainly a Stark difference from 2016, 2017, I mean, because everyone was so shocked. I mean, I was shocked when Trump won. Right. So that's why there was that initial outburst. And actually, that's what got me to go into journalism full time, because, like, I remember on election night, seeing protests from students in California after the results were called, since it wasn't too late for them, and just realizing in that moment that we were about to enter a whole new set of craziness. And then, of course, then 2020 happened, which blew everything off its doors. And so I will say I'm a little bit shocked at how low energy the street resistance has been since the election. I was expecting a little bit more, like, on election night, and nothing happened. I'm not expecting too much craziness. Again, like 2017 today, because it is so cold. I mean, it feels like 10 degrees outside. But I think once with the executive orders, with the border and immigration and then the legislation that will come after that, I think that's gonna kind of re. Incentivize people to get back out there, because we just saw this. I mean, even just like last week over in Bakersfield in California, where there was reports of ICE raids and a lot of pro immigration protesters showed up and just started protesting. It didn't get violent or anything, but it kind of shows that now you put that on a national scale where it's front and center. Trump is gonna be sounding the horn on that again and again. He's gonna hit that over and over. I think people are gonna start to get back out into the streets again, and I'll be sure to be there for when that happens.

Isn't it surprising, too, that's that, you know, was the Women's March in. In 2017, they added all the other 93 genders. It's now the People's March.

I think it's still very much in the planning and plotting stage because, I mean, that's one of the, that's one of the, kind of the big polls that they're kind of dancing around in terms of what they're going to be out there for is immigration. I mean, they're saying, you know, refugees are welcome here, you know, all of that. And so I think once. Then the media hype around that where, you know, they're going to try to have their own narratives.

All these kids are being taken from their parents that don't look like a parent, but they look more like they're selling those kids into sex slavery. Yeah, I understand that's coming.

Yeah. So I think that's gonna kind of reinvigorate people. I mean, I think that's kind of like, kind of the word for today is for, at least for the leftist side is that they're just kind of waiting and seeing what actually. Cause I think some of them are hoping that, oh, well, Trump didn't follow through the first time, so he's not gonna follow through the second time. But I mean, a lot has obviously changed. I mean, the guy got shot at, for Pete's sake.

So I don't think, I don't think on the big stuff because also, just because, I mean, he, I mean, he can't, he can't. Republicans, GOP as a whole, they can't fail on this issue. This was, I mean, the fact that the border and immigration was essentially number two behind the economy, which the economy was affected by the out of control immigration border. I mean, that is a big, that is a big deal. And the fact that we saw Latino heavy districts in big cities and states like Pennsylvania go towards Trump. I mean, this is a layup. This is a layup for the Republican Party here in Washington. So let's. Hopefully they Take that. Right.

I will tell you, the people I talked to in the last couple of days, they're all cautiously optimistic. Anybody who has spoken to the President in the last few weeks, and I would agree with this over the last few months, but anybody who is, as he is getting ready to go into the White House, they say he is laser focused and he is going to complete this mission and top priority is to secure the nation and its borders.

Yeah. And so I think, so once that starts to happen, I think then we're going to see because, I mean, because there's precedent with the first Trump administration, I mean, in the Pacific Northwest in 2020, the ICE facility, even though this was, even though it was mainly a local police thing, they would targeted the ice facility there just because it's Trump's ice. And in Washington, they had that antifa guy try to firebomb and try to set on fire the ice station there. So there is like serious potential for things to get out of control.

From the far left, have you ever seen anything change this much? I mean, the polling is 80% of the American people are saying send back to port. Have you seen the latest polls? Yeah, that came out this weekend. It's, I mean, it's stunning.

Whether that holds is interesting. I mean, you do see, you know, there is a vibe part of this, right? And that's, I think, what makes today feel really good. Like the vibes feel good. And I feel like it's been a long time since the vibes felt, you know, good. I don't even think, I don't think.

It was like, oh, gosh, things are really, really bad and we need to change and we need to make America great again. And of course, there's a positive strain in that as well. Here, though, it feels different. It feels like, whoa, this is really happening. Something's really changing today.

Oh, there's. Yeah, I think we're on. I was talking to Patrick bet David last night, and I think that guy really gets it. And we were standing there in a room full of people that were, you know, just sucking up to those who are suddenly on their side. And we're just standing there going, these people are not going to have any idea what hit them. I mean, really, you're. You're believing that these people are now suddenly, oh, my gosh, I have been such an admirer of yours for so long. And thank goodness Trump's in. And you're like, you are such a fraud and phony. I can't take it.

It just as long as. Is a rattlesnake a good pet. Yes, as long as you always remember it's a rattlesnake. As long as we understand YouTube and Facebook and all of these people that are now coming on board are rattlesnakes that have bit us several times before. Treat them like a rattlesnake. You are great. You're going to stay in that little aquarium. Whenever I'm around, I'm putting you inside of that aquarium. We can knock on the glass and say hi to each other, but I know who you are. And in. Patrick and I were just talking about how there is real change coming beyond what you think is happening with Donald Trump. There is. We are at a place where it's almost like an. A change of an epic. It is. It's a. It's. We're entering a new time period, I really believe, and that that encompasses not only politics, but AI and everything else that goes with it. Julio, who are the people that are here today who's really actually funding this and running all of this stuff?

Well, so we have. I mean, it's kind of. It's always usually the same actors. Right. I mean, we have the answer Coalition Code Pink has been out and about the Democratic Socialists of America. I mean, it is like the left machine, because that has been in place since 2020. Because, I mean, obviously they've had that infrastructure for a long time and they had their, you know, their street community organizers. But 2020 really saw the money really start to flow into that because it was the thing to do from all different sectors of the country. And so even though, yeah, the riots stopped, that infrastructure stayed in place, and we kind of saw that kind of get restarted after October 7th. And although I've noticed that even before the ceasefire came into agreement for months, that movement had really slowed down a lot, maybe just because their popularity did not increase, which is, surprise, surprise. You block people going to the airport with the traffic, you're not gonna make any friends. Although that's the point. That's why they were doing that. So I think the main thing that is going to get these People to do radical things beyond just street protesting is going to be the issue of immigration. And that's why it's gonna be such a. It's gonna be an uphill battle on certain areas. Just because, like, yeah, you're right, the polling is fine right now. But for better or for worse, Americans don't really have a stomach to do what's necessary. Cuz even with the action to take against the Mexican cartels, I mean, we've been doing the law enforcement approach for decades.

Oh, I think that's gonna change. Right?

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That law enforcement approach is not working. So something has to change. And it seems the Trump administration says, all right, we're gonna use the military. There'd be a lot of people who would be like, whoa, wait a minute, what does this mean?

The war on drugs? It's actually going to heat up and look like a war.

Right. And so it just depends whether the majority of the American people are going to be able to stomach that. I kind of have some doubts about it just because of stuff that I've seen, stuff that I know about what happens in Mexico, unfortunately. But the status quo. Can't something needs to be radically be different about. About this approach.

So it's kind of an omnibus of executive orders. There are more than 200 EOs, executive orders that are going to be signed today. And he's going to sign them immediately after. I mean, he's not waiting for the parade or anything. He's signing many of them right after he takes the oath of office. He's going to end catch and reliefs today. He's going to pause all offshore wind leases, terminate the electric vehicles mandate, abolish the Green New Deal, withdraw again from the Paris climate accord, take several major steps to assert presidential control over the federal bureaucracy. It is. It's going to be quite a day. And he is calling this shock and awe, a day of shock at awe.

The. The citizenship, birthright, citizenship attempt. He's gonna go after this. I mean, there's gonna be a lot of the stuff that gets challenged, right? Yeah, that type of stuff's gonna get challenged. I hope, though, we also see a pushback as to what Biden is doing here in the last days. This. This can't just be like, ah, thank God he's gone. The things he's done while in office we should forget about. I mean, I think the. Just trying to wave with your hand a constitutional amendment into the air is something that is one of the most egregious things ever.

It's been an interesting weekend to see security. They put up, what is it, 34 miles of fence. And this isn't chain link. This is like specially designed fence for the Capitol. Yeah, I have. And the other thing I noticed was coming in on Saturday, they were dismantling a lot of the security fencing around the Capitol Mall area. And a lot of people were kind of just kind of wandering around wondering, what do we do? What's going on?

But I haven't heard a single complaint from anybody who flew in from some part of the country and wanted to watch it. You know, they're all kind of wondering, what are we gonna do? But I haven't seen. I haven't heard anybody say anything. But if this is security, I am happy.

From the moment we started seeing video of the President's motorcade with electronic devices on top of the vehicles. I've seen those before, but, Glenn, only in war zones. I've never seen that just rolling around American cities before. And that's the kind of equipment that you're using to disrupt IED signals so they don't remote detonate.

Ever since the Trump administration took out Qassem Soleimani of the irgc, this is known. This does not surprise me that the income. Now Trump, as he's coming in, his people are saying, guys, can we for once. He's been a target twice now for assassination. Can we for once take this seriously?

I'm also very concerned. There's one place that was very tense in 2016, and the secret Service was begging him, please, please, please don't do this. And I think he'll do it again today. And that is in the middle of the parade, he is going to say, let me out of the car.

And he's going to walk with Melania and maybe the family. And I pray that doesn't happen. He does not. He likes to project strength without fear. And. You're not afraid. You're not somebody who cowers. Get up. And you can hear that in the audio. If, if you would go back and listen to it, you can hear him say, get out. I want to get up. I want to get up. Come on, let me put my shoes on. I got to get up. He was embarrassed by that. He likes to project who he really is. I mean, that's not something you fake. That is who he is. Like, we finally have a people's president back in the White House. It's a nightmare for security, but it was just amazing to actually see that.

He expects people to do their job, you know what I mean? And he. He trusts, yet verifies with the Secret Service. I mean, he's hired an outside security firm. What's the name of that firm? Do you know?

I mean, I don't know if you heard this, because I was in traffic a couple of times when the motorcade was going by, and there were helicopters right up above that motorcade. I mean, I've never seen security like this before for a president in Washington, D.C. normally, the motorcade, they just stop the cross streets and the motorcade goes by. This time, it was stopped for a long time before you saw any blue and red lights. And then you saw them and you heard the helicopters first. And there was at least two helicopters over his motorcade.

Yeah. And it's going to be needed especially. I mean, we're talking today. We're talking 200 plus ish executive orders, many of them targeting not only things like cartels, terrorist organizations, but also the deep state.

He would reverse all that Great Society, all that FDR stuff. The American people would be united on. This is gonna stop right now. And so the worst thing they could possibly do is kill him. But we are not, apparently not worried about a domestic terrorist as much as we are as an international terrorist. In particular, I think Iran and the security on the. On top of the vans. And what will be the beast? It'll be interesting to see if they've taken one of the three beasts and put the same kind of electronic jammer on the top that you're now seeing on all of the other cars that are following the president. I think for all the talk, for all the consternation on the joy of this day, what people need to take with them is this fact, the difference, the difference between 2016 and this moment. And I'm just here to tell you, it is enormous, right? When Donald Trump first walked in and shocked the system, this town was a bubble. It was living in a bubble. And it was so thick that they couldn't imagine what the MAGA agenda was. No one knew what that was. They didn't think it was a coherent thing. And so in the latter half of that administration, before I came to Blaze, I was working at Claremont, and we had this network of all these really smart constitutionalist conservatives throughout the country, kind of kids who would come and read the books with you for weeks at a time, right? And they were all throughout the administration in these lower jobs, and they were fighting a three or four part war because they all felt like they understood what Trump was about, they understood what MAGA was about, and now Maha. But they were not in power, right? And everyone would look to them and they'd move up in the administration because they'd say, get that kid in here who understands what. I don't even understand what he's saying, like, why is he questioning NATO?

And they'd all laugh, like, are you? And then you'd have someone, you know, some staffer would come in and say, no, I think he's asking a legitimate question. So all the work that went into the time from the last administration until now, all these people who understood that agenda and fought for it, these are principled people. And this weekend, I reconnected with a lot of people on and off record talking to all these people here in this town now. And let me just tell you, they are ready. Compared to 2016, this is night and day. They are ready to go with an explosion of executive orders. They understand how the system works and they're ready to go to war. And that we just. We can't discount. It's a world of difference from 2016.

I will tell you. I talked to several people this weekend that were in the administration in 2016 and said it is a world that is very different than when they came in. And I said, how do you mean that? Just from the way the left is reacting, et cetera. And they said, more important than that, that Donald Trump was not ready last time. It was confusing this time. And I'm trying to remember the exact quote, if I can give you an exact quote, of somebody who was at a cabinet level last time, said he is, what was it, laser focused and absolutely determined this time around. He knows what he's doing. He has a very well thought out plan and is going to be executing that. Yes.

And the people are there to help him do it. And that is just, I mean, he.

The political will. He doesn't care about, you know, how it looks. He knows what he wants to do. And to do that, you need a lot of names that people aren't going to be aware of.

Staffers who really know how things work. And that's what I saw this weekend is just how many of these people they keep on popping out of the woodwork. People I've known from the last few years. And you just look at it and say that's the perfect person for that job. Someone who actually knows the history and cares about the principles. And those people are now ready to go.

So we're here at the American First Policy Institute. That's where we're headquartered. We're right across from the. You see behind me that's the Kennedy Center. And just to what your right, if you're watching on the screen is the Washington and Lincoln Memorial. You see the Capitol behind us. We are right across the street, right across the river, I should say from Washington, D.C. and we have been allowed to use their offices. Most people may not have even heard of America First Policy Institute. And once again, the media got it wrong. They said it was all the Heritage foundation and Agenda 2025 was going to be. And Trump kept saying, that's not who I'm dealing with. I'm not doing that. And he was telling the truth. It's not Agenda 2025 and the Heritage, although I'm sure there's some things that are similar that they may have take, taken or, you know, will work on. But it's this headquarters where the real power. I mean, I think they have 30 people at cabinet level or just below cabinet level that are helping this administration plan and move forward. And I mean quickly. Yeah.

And this is the important thing, again, there was no agenda.

I mean, people didn't realize what the MAGA agenda was. And in order for a president to come in and have, you know, implement the will of the people, that's. You need a lot of people who understand it. Just like in a business, they have to understand what the mission is. And what you see with afpi, what you see with Heritage, all these organizations, what they've done is they kept at it. They learned what that Agenda was they didn't just lie on their laurels, they built a new movement. And that's what's so gratifying about this moment. That movement is real, it's thick, it's full of people who understand it. And those people are ready to go to work.

I think because Donald Trump speaks like a regular human being. He doesn't speak like an intellectual. People dismiss his intellectual prowess. And I have been really impressed over the last three years in particular, he has changed a great deal. It's almost as if he went to presidential school. And I don't know if that comes from reflection or he had people around him that were saying, okay, here's where you made the mistakes last time. Who was schooling with him? Do you know any of that background? Who has he surrounded himself with? Or is it just coming from him?

So in the beginning you had Trump sort of against the world and you had a number of people who remember he cycled through all those campaign managers. I mean, he was sort of scrambling to find the right talent.

And I think what you see now is a number of talented people in orbit, right, that has revolved around him, that stayed the same over time. So you have to give, you have to give Susie Wiles credit for what she did in this campaign. She's been a long time, she's a.

To be reckoned with. Oh yes, oh yes.

I mean, a source of stability and a source of sort of, you know, calming strength, I think. And you can have your disagreements with her, everyone has at one point or another. But she is a force for good and has helped, you know, direct and focus a lot of this energy. You also see again, a lot of these people who are just, they're not loyal to any one group, right? I mean, a lot of the younger people, I'm talking about these staffers, these people who have grown in the ranks over the last six to eight years, they're loyal to Trump, right, And the MAGA agenda, cuz they understand it. But there was no infrastructure for it. And what you see now with AFPI and many other groups is that infrastructure developed around Trump and that in turn helped him see achieve that agenda and be so ready to go in now. And I think it is a sea change. It is a revolutionary moment of people who wanna restore Republican governance in this country. And I think what we can't lose sight of though, is that this is a transitional day. After this day, it's about implementing that mandate that really the people gave to Donald Trump.

I wanna talk to you a little bit about his executive orders. I'm, I'm squeamish on executive orders. I don't like them. And one reason why I don't like them is we're not a dictatorship. But the second reason is because they can easily be reversed. Just as his agenda was completely reversed and Joe Biden's agenda is being completely reversed now with these new executive orders. This, this has got to stop. We have to do legislation, but he's reversing everything that Joe Biden did and then some. But it's an omnibus package of about 200 executive orders and still more to come today and tomorrow. That's astounding. I mean, what's going to happen is justice is coming. Authority, constitutional authority over the administrative state is what we're talking about. And that's where I think all Americans don't want the executive writing laws. That's what we have Congress for. But the president has executive power over the entire government.

He should be able to hire and fire. The Constitution gives the president executive authority. With Congress as we know it separates out that authority, says you can only pass laws about these sorts of things. But the president has that executive authority. Because what will happen today is Trump will take an oath to the Constitution. And by taking that oath, he then is in charge. Right. Of that entire administrative state. But the problem is we're not talking about the normal bureaucracy in departments. We're talking about a fourth branch of government that has run amok. So when he comes out with these executive orders today, it's sending a strong and clear message that, guess what, guys, the president is now gonna reign this in, and you will have some authority over you from someone who actually represents the people. Because as we know, the entire problem. Right. No, this is the great thing about what's happening today. No Republican president has been able to roll this thing back for the last hundred years since, as you point out, Woodrow Wilson and others created it. And now we have the best chance we've seen in a century to start rolling it back. And that starts with a flurry of eos of executive orders where the president says, nope, we're not doing this anymore.
