Okay, let's do a little weekend mailbag. Have a lot of questions from you guys. You guys know the drill at John Middle Cough at John Middle Coff is the Instagram fire in those dms and get your questions answered here on the show. When I recorded Thursday night, I did not, because we just go right after the game. Then obviously we get done. And, you know, you. You load everything up and you see on your phone, you get a million texts about the devondre Campbell situation in San Francisco. And I don't think there's that much more to be said than what George Kittle and Charvarius Ward said. I know on the most basic level, I hate people that aren't dependable. And in a situation like that, you know, specific to that business and that goes across anything in life. But, you know, in football, you only get so many people to dress, so every spot, non starter that is padded up is a really big deal because obviously you get a million injuries. And this is not something that came out of the blue. Dre Greenlaw was coming back the last couple weeks, so this is not news that the guy would have found out on Thursday. You know, I think sometimes when you're young, you know, your parents, your grandparents, your coaches, whoever teaches you, don't quit. Never quit. Which I think, for the most part is true. And then you get into the business world and you realize, yeah, happens all the time. People break leases. You know, people quit on jobs. People quit when they think they're getting screwed. Like, you know, it's just every situation is a little different. But I do think there's something to be said, you know, when you're in certain environments and other people are depending on you, like, you do owe a lot to those other people. And in something this specific, like those other guys on the team, especially the 49ers, Charvarius Ward, to call you out, he's playing less than. Probably a month after his daughter died, Dre Greenlaw was literally coming back from a torn Achilles. So all these guys are going through, whether it's injuries, whether it's personal situations, and giving it all they have, and for you to walk out when they need you because you're injured. If you had a huge issue with this, which, listen, we could debate all we want. I have no problem on, like, Thursday morning or Wednesday when you realize, like, this guy's going to start and I'm going to go back to the bench, like, we're going to Kyle, like, I'm out. I don't want to play. Okay, that's fine. We'll cut you, we'll move on. We'll won't dress you, and you won't impact the game. But where I.
Unknown
Where.
Justin Jefferson
I hear a lot of former players and they're right. Like, the selfish part is simply that when you dress and you take up one of those spots and you get into a position where they got injuries and they're playing people that they don't want to play because you were just in the locker room. It's, it's. I don't know, I can't even. I can't even begin to relate to that mindset of. And listen, we all get pissed off. We all. I think sometimes, you know, our ego or whatever can get the best of us. Then there are situations like that. There, There is no excuse for that. There really isn't. And you know, I think the players. It's not often that you see players, I think, do a couple things. One, speak on someone's business, right? When holdouts and contracts are going on, because at the end of the day, it is a business and you have to be numb to it. Like, I got no problem with players holding out or holding in, but once you sign the contract, you better be ready to fucking hit the ground running and produce. And Brandon, I use a good example, he held in and then he showed up and he just was not ready. He simply was not ready. And that to me is unacceptable. Right? I mean, if you're going to hold out, you better be, I mean, going 99 miles an hour the moment that ink is dry on that piece of paper for the contract. Because I get holding out and we're talking millions of dollars. I think it's easy for everyone sitting on their couch. There's a cutthroat business. But if you are going to make a stink, which a lot of people do in a lot of different industries, once you get what you're looking for and you get over, it's time. No one gives a shit about that anymore. It's time. Catch passes, make plays. And I think you rarely ever hear teammates blast a player like that. You know, essentially saying, like, he can't be here. That's. I mean, obviously Charveri's called it horseshit. And you know, Kittle said, I never want to be around a human being like that again because he kind of left them all on an island. Now, he's not the reason they lost the game, but it sure didn't probably help, especially once the Rams started running down their throat and they got Flanagan fouls out there, who's, you know, probably should be like a fifth stringer. And DeAndre Campbell, I mean, has been pretty terrible for the 49ers. That's the other thing. You know, it's it. I guess as a player, I would understand if it's pretty equal and it's pretty clear, right? To the coaches, to the fans, to the front office. Like, you know, this is a coin flip. You're playing this guy because you like him more or whatever, but he's not better than me. I mean, that happens a lot. And then there's a situation like Dre Greenlaw with a torn Achilles is a better player than Campbell, let alone Dre Greenlaw coming back from injury last night. Before then he got hurt again, obviously tweaked a knee or something, is one of the better linebackers in the NFL and was a dominant impact player early in that game. It's like, Campbell, you have nothing in common with this guy who is. I mean, one, if you don't know Greenlaw story, Google it, because pretty freaking incredible what the guy overcame in his life to get where he's at. And two, like, his ability is 100 xu. So what are we talking about here? I just. That's one. A lot of things, you know, I put on the Niners. So obviously there's stuff out of your control. Some of these. Some of the deaths, they're dealing with people getting shot. But the contract situation with iu, like, that's on them. You know, the depth on this team being limited because of Trey, Lance, trade, like, ultimately, that's on them. This is. I'm not putting this on anybody but Campbell. This is a rogue player embarrassing himself. And listen, I saw Florio wrote that LeGarrett blunt, I don't remember this. I guess walked out in the middle of a game when he was on the Steelers. I think my favorite Blunt story is when him and Levy on Bell were driving to the plane for a preseason game. I think Leveon was driving and Blunt was in the passenger seat or might have been vice versa. And they got pulled over and they were both getting high as a kite and one of them got a DUI and the other one got picked up and went to the plane. And then he quit on the Steelers, was cut the next day and then later obviously started for the Patriots. Differences ligera Blunt at the time could still kind of play this guy. It's like he's done out of the league. So rough moment for. For the Niners. Let's get to Vince. I've been listening to you every day for the past year. Plan to continue. I like this guy. Vince. I'm not a Vikings fan, but I am intrigued in the Sam Darnold JJ debate. I have yet to see anyone say why the Vikings can't do what Green Bay to Jordan Love and sit JJ for three years while also giving Darnold an extension, given he is coming off multiple surgeries and having a year to recover and another year to develop can be beneficial. I think the hard part, why no one's arguing that is you almost pick a lane. Because part of JJ's value in this modern day NFL is his contract. So J.J. mcCarthy's contract, I'm gonna look it up right now, I would guess is 3, 4 million dollars a year and has Vikings fans have hit me up. I mean he signed a four year, $20 million contract. So in the way they amortized it over the course of a deal, it's just, it's. So here's his cap hits the next four years. 3.9, 4.9, 5.9, 6.9. That, that's just, that's good business if he's, if he's a solid, if He's a top 1215 quarterback. Because you can build that thing up. And part of Sam Darnold is neutralizing his value. Now you can try to play it like Terry and Fontenot with the Falcons. Like we want deep quarterback room. Yeah. I mean everyone does. But eventually you got to put all your cards in the middle of the table. Like the Bills, the Chiefs, the Ravens. Like it kind of is what it is once you pay a guy. Right. And once you have one of these guys, like Michael Pennick is going to be the starting quarterback next year for the Falcons. Kirk Cousins is done after this year, clearly with the way he's playing lately. But like that was always going to be an off season discussion. Now there is no discussion. It's completely over. But Bo Nicks, Caleb, Jane Daniels, probably missing someone. Jane Daniels. Oh, Drake may like one of their huge values beside like their ability is their contract. So I just think that's where it gets really complicated. I mean to me, if I'm signing Darnold, I'm like, could I trade J.J. mcCarthy for a first round pick? What's the name of the consignment store for the designer bags? It's called My Sister's Attic. A lot of people have asked me about that. I gave her the. I got three bags for her. This is why I did it and this is why I went to the consignment store. Because one of them she didn't like so that one will get given to my mom for Christmas. But you know, you gotta give your. It's like diversifying Your portfolio tell you this. My sister's attic. If you, if you want designer bags, honestly, they got, I mean, the one designer bag that you all that most people, even if you're not in that world, which I definitely am not, I don't give a shit about that type stuff is the LV Louis Vuitton bag. And they have a ton of them. And you can find ones that are in really good shape. It's like 800 bucks. Well, I mean, they're brand new or like four or five, which is crazy to me, pay for a bag, but I get it. Chicks like that Vikings fan, I guess we pay for watches and you know, my, my golf bag is worth a lot of money, so. I mean, we all got issues. Why are talking heads constantly talking about Sam Darnold signing a huge deal with another team? Sure, it's a fun conversation, but what coach, gm, ownership group worth their salt would let him go? Seriously, he's getting tagged if we can't reach a deal, right? J.J. is already a full year behind learning anything and a rookie deal. Vikings don't have to do anything with anyone. Even Jones probably isn't going anywhere. We have cap room, a great situation, coach, GM and talent. Nobody would let them leave if you don't have to. Am I missing something? Well, I think part of the reason they talked to Daniel Jones about coming in is I do think they plan on pivoting to J.J. mcCarthy. That was always the plan here. Now, like you said, anyone worth their salt. Plans fucking change, right? It's like, hey, this is the best business partner I could ever have. Then you find out he's, you know, scamming you and scamming seven of your clients. Probably not do business with them anymore, right? It's like, hey, you get married, you're in love, you have a couple kids, all of a sudden you find out she's sleeping with a pool boy. Probably divorce, right? So as new information comes, we make decisions and it's pretty clear, like I, is J.J. mcCarthy just going to be the next couple years throw for 38 touchdowns? Like they have four more games left. Now this is a big game coming up, or I guess who the Vikings play this week. Oh, I know why I'm playing on that. Because they're playing the Bears. Who cares? They get the. Oh, that's why it's throwing me off. At 6 o'clock, they got the Bears on Monday Night Football. So they got the Bears on Monday Night Football, which at home, I like the Vikings in that game. Then they play a really big game in Seattle. And if he goes in there and plays well against Mike McDonald on the road, I think these last three weeks after the Bears game, which I would expect them to win by a couple touchdowns. And then the playoffs, like, if they are leaning, like, we got to keep them, which like you said, they should be, if he plays pretty well against Seahawks, the Packers, the Lions, and it's at Seattle, at Detroit, and then depending on how it shakes, like, he might have a road playoff game. Now, if his road playoff game is in the first round against Atlanta, it's probably must win. Like, I don't think he could lose that game. And then you tag like, that's how, that's how fast things change here. So that's why I love when people are like, middle cop. You're changing your tune. I had one dude DM me. Like, I used to like you a lot, but now you just hot take artist. I'm like, if you listen to me and think I'm a hot take artist, I don't know what to tell you. But like, every week things change. It's not like I go, I re ranked the top five quarterbacks. It's not like I re ranked the top coaches. Like, we got a pretty good idea. But eventually, once you win nine straight games, I can't just keep saying Sirianni's the village idiot and gonna get fired. It's why, actually I was thinking this today that I wonder if part of Belichick. I'm sure I'll talk to Coward about this on Sunday. About Bill, that $1 million buyout is he looks around the landscape. He's not taking most of these crappy jobs. The Eagle job is one he would be very interested in because of the support he gets from Jeffrey Lurie. Jeffrey Lurie, sneaky, hates the Patriots because a Boston guy competes against the Craftsman. Not like, hates him personally, but like, it would be a way to get back at him. Similar market. He respects Howie. They got a bunch of talent on the team and they will pay any dollar to compete. And I wonder if he realizes, well, it's going to be really, really difficult like Sirianni, no matter what. At this point, I guess it could totally come off the rails if, like A.J. brown, like, attacked Jalen hurts or something. Though they claim it's good. But like, regardless what happens in the playoffs, I wonder if they give this one more year with these new coordinators and the roster that they have. So I would guess they got two years and then Bill could make a decision next year. If that's something he would entertain. So I wonder if that one year buyout is more toward that. Just a little theory I had driving around. As a lifelong Broncos fan and Utah alum, I was thrilled when Denver took Bo Nicks. I watched him absolutely shred the Utes defense, which was likely the top unit in the PAC 12 while I was there. On the flip side, I watched Caleb Williams fold every time we played the Trojans. It's very true. Utah sneaky owned usc. Kyle Whittingham owned the Trojans. Why is that? Well, this year was a disaster, but Utah is one of the tougher programs in the country and he showed a lot of lack of confidence plays that we're seeing in Chicago. I never understood why it was just widely accepted that Caleb was the number one pick before he even finished his college career and that Knicks shouldn't even be taken the first round. I absolutely love that he and Sean Payton have made so many analysts look like clowns. But why did so many people place the Broncos at the bottom of the league post draft slash preseason? Even with the super bowl winning offensive head coach, A good offense, great offensive line. I saw they just extended your guy Bowles. Great offensive line and although not the most physically gifted, clearly uber coachable, competitive and experienced rookie. I think sometimes perception and narratives around something can drive the view of, you know, I think Sean Payton. I've never met the guy, but he does rub a lot of people in the league the wrong way. And that when I say in the league, I also mean former players. Like I just don't think he's universally like well talked about. It's like, when do you ever hear someone that like played for Tomlin or McVeigh or Andy that ever has even close to a bad word to say about him? You get Sean Payton. I mean you will get some takes. So I think it's easy to root against him. Even though I think most people that talk about football think Russell Wilson's kind of a weirdo. I think a lot of people were uncomfortable with that, which is weird. I mean, I don't know. I definitely wasn't. It's like, yeah, he hates him. He was not playing very good. Regardless of the stats, he can't run his offense. But that was about as cold blooded as a move as we've seen in the NFL in recent memory. We've actually seen a couple, right? We've seen Josh McDaniels do it to Carr. We've seen Sean Payton do it to Russell. We saw the Giants do it today. It's actually happened to a lot of quarterbacks because of, you know, their guaranteed money if they get injured is just so big. Remember Russell's was. I forget the number off top of my head, but was it 30, 40 million dollars if he were to break a leg or something? Derek Carr I think was like 25. Daniel Jones was 24 or 23. It's like, we are. This guy's not going to be our quarterback next year. We ain't risking it. So I think part of it's that and your guess is as good as mine with the Bo Nicks hate. I think sometimes also, you know, their narrative and a, like a momentum of hype is like an avalanche coming down the hill and there's no stopping it. We saw it with Trevor Lawrence years ago and listen, I knew buddies that were like, I think Trevor Lawrence, I've scouted him, he's one of the best prospects I've ever scouted. It's like, yeah, you watch him at Clemson, it's like, yeah, he's a good player. I mean he's a first round quarterback, top 10, 15 quarterback. But why is this guy just the greatest prospect of all time? And then you watch him play, you're like, yeah, it's just sums off like there was no arguing. Anyone with a fucking brain who watched Andrew Luck, you're like, wait, he's 6 5, he's like £240. He can run like Cam Newton. He is accurate, he's tough, he's smart. Like this guy, this guy was made in the lab. But then you watch Trevor, you're like, well, I know he's tall, I know he weighs a lot, but he doesn't look that big. I know he's fast, but he's not like super dynamic as a runner. I know he has a good arm, but I wouldn't exactly call like Josh Allen or Herbert and just I think looking back, it's one of the. But if you would have said to anyone, and I mean anyone, that Trevor Lawrence was the number one overall pick, they would have looked at you crazy. I'll never forget. I. And listen, you don't have to believe me if you don't want, you know, my first couple years when you're in the office, people aren't looking for your takes. Like, hey, coach Howie, we need to draft these three guys. Like you do some reports, right? You're just, you're part of the squad. But like you ain't in the final meetings of like, yeah, these overrated. This guy Sucks when you're talking about high price free agents and you're talking about the draft picks in the first round. But I remember one night at the office watching Trent Richardson and I remember thinking, it kind of looks slow to me. I remember just watching him going. And at the time, you know, when you're in the office, you're doing a lot of pro film. So I'm watching all these guys in the NFL way more than I am college guys and a lot of practice squad guys. So you know what works in the NFL very well? It's the problem with a lot of college scouts is they lose touch with what working in the NFL. It's all based on, like judging them based on. Call it like the best scouts watch them both so you have an understanding. But I remember watching Trent Richardson and I was like, something's a little off just in terms of like he's being talked about, like he's Barry Sanders or Walter Payton. I'm not acting like he shouldn't get drafted, but I just remember like, this guy's going to go top five. We sure. And I remember saying something in a meeting around a group of people and everyone just looked at me kind of crazy. And at the time, you don't have the confidence to, you know, you bullshit, argue, but it's like one of those things you let go. I remember four or five years later, like, yeah, man, it's just some things like you watch Saquon Barkley in college, it was like, listen, this dude's a badass. Like this. There is no chance, even if you put this guy on the shitty team which he was on, it's still going to be pretty clear that he's really talented. I remember watching Trent going, I don't know now. I mean, some people would have said that about Derek Henry, that, is this really going to translate to the NFL? And for a while it didn't. And then it kind of did. A lot of people sending me reels about Belichick. There are some funny reels about him going back to college. I mean, it's, it's a funny story separate from the football story, which is fascinating, but just there is a lot of comedic relief around Bill and his crew going to North Carolina. I've never been, but by all accounts, it's one of the most beautiful campuses in America. And Bill, I think said it in his press conference. He's like, you know, I've been to every major campus in this country and this has to be on the short list. She's probably not wrong. I wonder, you know, tough academic requirements, what the talent is like there. You know, Bill likes him young, right? I mean, part of the reason some schools just have more babes, just wider range of people that can get into school. Like it's, it's a little easier to get into San Diego State or Arizona State than it is Cal. It's why Cal, you know, if you're a 5 at Cal you or if you, if you're a tenant Cal, you're probably like a 3 at San Diego State. Godley from All Ball with Doug Godley. Hey, I'm going to talk to you about something that's really serious for a minute. Something personal. Right now in our country, hate feels like it's at an all time high and we're going backwards and the hate is winning. It's out of control. So many different people, so many different groups are facing too much hate and it's just enough. We need to stop and regroup, change the momentum as a team because that's what we are. Everyone in this country is on the same team, so let's act like it. And when a team can't get together, what do they do? They call a timeout. We need to take a timeout against hate. So let's think about what we say and do. And when we see hate and we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong or hateful, we need to call it out. Visit standuptoallhate.org or join me in calling for the timeout against hate by following hatsupwithhate or posting the blue square emoji.

Question for the Mailbag With Belichick going to North Carolina, do you think any other high profile NFL coach will make the jump to college? If someone like Vrabel doesn't believe in Caleb, Trevor, Dak or Drake, why wouldn't he take an NFL job? If Ohio State offered Vrabel 14 million for seven years, do you think he would turn down $100 million? Well, Vrabel played in the NFL for what my guess would be looking it up right now, 12 years. So he wasn't exactly, you know, Ray Lewis or something. But from 1997 to 2010 he made a lot of money playing. I'm trying to look up, see if there's any contract information. He made millions. Not like crazy millions, but he made enough. I looked up he was making $9.5 million to coach the Titans. I'm pretty sure he's being paid $9.5 million this year to not coach the Titans. So variable in terms of money, in terms of happiness, like he's making a lot of money. Now if you're making a million dollars and you've been making a million dollars for a while, I'm just using that as it's an easier number because I think it's more realistic for 99% of people than like 10 or $15 million. Not that $1 million a year in a salary is that realistic for most people, but you know what I mean. We could also use like $500,000 it's like, that's good, good income and you're making money, you've invested like your family's living good, might have a country club membership, your kids could go to private school if you want. You got a couple new cars, you got a big pad. Again, this is if you don't live in a tax heavy state like California, Jersey or New York. If you live in Texas, Arizona or Florida, fuck, you're living good. And I highly recommend that because it's amazing when you cross an imaginary line how much more money stays with you. And then you can always go back to those states if you really want to and buy what you want to buy with the extra money that you just keep every year. That's just a little life lesson from a guy that lived in one place for 30 plus years and drove across an imaginary line. His life's infinitely better. But $100 million makes you listen. But if you don't want to coach college and you're already rich, like, who cares? So if he is dead set on coaching the NFL, which I do feel like he is, then I would expect him to try to get an NFL job. Now if Ryan Day loses this job to Tennessee and is shit canned next week, I think they would only do it if they knew they could land Mike Vrabel, who obviously is an alumni, but at his age, you know, would he want to go full Saban is his desire. I think what makes it unique for him is he won so many Super Bowls as a player, right? So only he would know this, his true, true desire. Like how much it means to him to win a Super bowl as a coach. I don't know the answer to that. Like, because if it's like Ohio State would offer you a hundred million dollars and give you all those resources, like, bro, you're probably gonna win an out of here. Shit, you might want a couple. And if you're getting paid, like you said, $14 million a year, he's an Ohio guy, definitely would make him listen. I just have no clue where his head's at in terms of how dead set is he on trying to like win a Super Bowl. Do you think guys would rather win a national championship and have a similar role or be like Ashton Gentee and have a slim to none chance of winning the national championship but be immortalized in a smaller program's history? I'm a Utah fan and I will forever hold the guys that help us win two BCS bowl games in higher regard than any other player from Utah's history. Just Curious, you know, when he decides to stay, he understands that, like this year couldn't have gone any better. And they have no shot to win the national championship. I guess technically they do because they're in the playoffs, but we all know they have no shot. And I think more of it is once you're in it, like if you're at Utah and you're at Boise and you like love your teammates and you love the program, like what are you really chasing? Especially if they're paying you and you know you're going to go to the NFL, especially if you think your team's going to be really good, like you have those relationships. Like he's played with these guys now for three years. I don't understand how these people just jumping team to team develop any human relationships with their teammates. I mean, it's one thing to be a mercenary when you're like 33 year old NFL guy and holding on is trying to get a job. Like Kaleus Campbell, just do whatever he can to play for somebody, get it? He's, you know, been the league for a long time. But when you're 17, 18, you like get to campus, you meet a bunch of buddies and you like it and you're making money. I just like you. I'd be hard for me, but I guess I'm not quite wired like some of these other guys. Huge Lions fan and a Michigan man. So I've been in football heaven the last couple years. I live in Minnesota and I am not a Vikings fan, but I was excited when they drafted J.J. with Oconnell as his coach, I thought he could have a lot of success. If Darnold continues at its current pace and has success in the playoffs, do you think it's possible the vikings would trade McCarthy? If so, with the weak quarterback draft class coming up, could they get a first round pick for him? Does that make any sense? I love jj but if you already have a great quarterback and can continue to build the roster, I would imagine they get a first round pick for him. Maybe it'd be a little complicated because of the injury. So it would be, I would say, predicated on a physical. Like his knee would have to be right, but they gave him a $12 million signing bonus. And if they could get a first round pick, here's the problem. Like the Raiders, the Giants, these teams aren't giving them a top five pick. Or maybe they would, maybe they would. Actually, I don't see how they could because the Giants passed on him. So the Giants, if they thought he was a franchise quarterback, could have drafted him. It'd just be the Raiders and if they have the number one pick, I think it could be harder to get a first round pick for him than you think. So I guess now just talking it out loud, I would say no because it would have to be a team that's desperate for a quarterback. Who would that be at the bottom? You know, the Giants, the Raiders, the Titans, the Jets? Would you do their second round pick for some of these teams which was like pick 35 and just kind of eat it. So basically you would eat 20 plus spots in a draft and 12 million bucks and it would impact your cap a little bit. But not crazy Steeler fan here. I know there is a lot to be said about how authentic Russell Wilson is, but I wanted to share something that most NFL fans don't know. Russell Wilson visits the kids here at Children's Hospital almost every week. My nephew is battling cancer and it means so much to the kids. It shows a lot about his character. Lastly, Google Big Ben versus Aaron Rodgers stats. The numbers are surprising. I let me push back on one thing. I do think if you follow football, you know, on Instagram or Twitter, you know Russell, like, he posts that, right? So I mean, he's been doing that for a decade. So I'm not. There's a difference between talking authentically and just doing good things. Like, I don't think anyone's ever argued. Like, I see some of these politicians, I'm like, not only are they not authentic, I think they're a fucking scumbag. I wouldn't trust that person to walk my dog across the street. Then there's versions like Russell Wilson that goes like, I don't believe he's like a bad person. I don't believe he does bad things. I don't believe he's not like a has some good intentions. I just think he's just been this creation of this media training or whatever. And maybe that's part of him, I don't know. But I don't think anyone's ever thought he's like a bad guy. And obviously like you said, he does things for other people. And he's done that from the beginning of his career. I actually think it goes back to like Wisconsin and North Carolina State. So I think we got to put Russell into context, right? When you look at some of these people that are, you know, can be quote unquote phony, I think you can separate them. Like you can be kind of phony, try to get someone's Business. Right. And be a high character, high morals. Right. You can be phony and you'd put a knife in their throat to get to ruin their career. Right. I think that's the way a lot of people look at, like politicians. And then I think there's like, Russell Wilson does not fall into the latter category. I think people just think he's kind of cheesy and annoying, but no one would say he's like a bad human being. I also think, and I think the pushback on some time, like you said, it does mean a lot to the kids. A lot of NFL guys do that and you never know it because they don't publicize it. Like a lot of guys do things in their community in pro sports in general. I remember demarcus Cousins, the basketball player from Kentucky, when he was in Sacramento, used to like, take care of the Grant High School football program. It's like an inner city program in Sacramento that historically, like when I was a kid and played him in high school were good. I mean, they were loaded. I think they've kind of had some ups and downs, but, like, they've had some moments with some, like, NFL guys in their program. And he never publicized it. And I think a lot of people, you know, go to hospitals, give money to other people, and it's just completely silent because it's just they're a good guy, it's the right thing to do and they can make a difference. And again, like, I got. We're in a world of posting things, so it doesn't bother me that much. But I think there's an element of that there with people. I don't care. Do you think Lawrence Taylor, probably Bill's favorite player of all time and former tower heel, could be part of Bill staff? Maybe not a defensive coordinator, but more like a Warren Sapp? I doubt that one I thought I saw relatively recently. I thought he got in trouble again this summer. Lawrence Taylor arrested and charged with failing to report move as a sex offender. Again, I just think he's been in too much trouble, so I would say no. Now, do I think Bill will bring him to the team and have him maybe talk at a practice or something? For sure. But I don't think Bill won. I don't even think he would, but I don't think he can. Philip Baldi here. How often do you shave your head? Have you ever thought of a hair transplant? I heard the other day from a buddy about a guy that I had. I never crossed my mind that went to Turkey and got it And I think a lot of people, you know, over the years have gone to Turkey. And I was like, how much? Because I always heard it was like, 30, 40, 50 grand, which in America, it was always. I remember I know a good buddy that went to college with who got it. And at the time, this is probably a decade ago, you know, in his 20s, it was like 25 grand, which might have been millions of dollars at the time. And it didn't even totally work. And I don't think any of these totally work. Like, you have to go back and get it redone. But I just thought, like, I don't even care. And then, you know, my dating life, once I went bald actually kind of elevated. And I just don't care, though I've said it always that I would have no problem coming back, but I wouldn't want the hair that I used to have or had. I wouldn't want my previous hair, which I'm pretty sure is what they do, because they just take it out of your sides and put it on top. If you're giving me John Stamos flow, you know, Brady clearly had good hair. He was losing it, and then he got the plugs or whatever he got. And that's just his hair. You look at, like, Peyton Manning or something. Like, he just got bad hair. I didn't have great hair. Wasn't bad, but it wasn't like I wouldn't hang my hat on it. And so if I just get to come back with my old hair, I don't really care. I shave. It just depends. Like today I shaved after the steam room and the sauna after I worked out, because we're going, you know, it's Marie and her mom's birthday tonight. But if we weren't doing anything, and I might not have shit, you know, it depends. I wear a hat a lot now. Podcasting my friends at Travis Matthews. I've been doing pretty good giveaways. I did a giveaway. Someone want one of the. One of you guys won? Matt on a. What was that? Monday Night Football. We predicted the score Thursday, and I put this all on Instagram. Thursday Night Football, we did combined passing yards. He just got three. He got two pullovers and a pair of jeans. On Thursday Night Football, I gave away $150 gift card to Travis Matthews, and it was combined passing yards of Stafford and Purdy. Most people were 550 to 650. And then the torrential rain pour, they combined for 302. So the closest was actually someone that guessed 325. I kind of like doing something like that. I might. I'm going to do another one. I got one more hundred and fifty dollar gift card which gets you a couple polos, get you some shorts, get you a pullover like Travis Matthews got. Sweet shit. So I will do another one of those on Monday Night Football.

Golly from All Ball with Doug Godley. Hey, I'm going to talk to you about something that's really serious for a minute. Something personal Right now in our country, hate feels like it's at an all time high and we're going backwards and the hate is winning. So let's think about what we say and do and when we see hate and we see someone doing or saying those things we know are wrong or hateful, we need to call it out. Visit standuptoallhate.org or join me in calling for the timeout against hate by following hatsupwithhate or posting the blue square emoji.

Huge fan of the pod question that after week 14 I feel like needs to be addressed. As much as the NFL media thinks the Chiefs have essentially locked up the number one seed with the Bills losing, would you be surprised if they find themselves potentially falling to the three seed? Bills can easily sweep their next four games. Christmas Day Chiefs Steelers in Pittsburgh has upset written all over it and all of a sudden if the Steelers win out, also feasible. The Chiefs are fighting for their lives against a gritty Broncos team in Denver. With a win for the one and a loss that drops them to the three. That still seems like gotta have it, gotta get it type Chiefs game. That's a good point. I would say. I think that Bills I don't know man. I just think the Chiefs find a way to win. So pulling up the Chief schedule right now, they got the Browns this week in Cleveland, which will not be an easy game. The Texans, who have kind of been in shambles all year at Arrowhead and then at Pittsburgh, Christmas at Broncos, I think where you might have an issue if you're the Chiefs, like, are you running on fumes A little bit. You're playing in all these close games. If they were to get like upset by the Browns, then I would think it would be on the table because then you get a short week Saturday game, Texans. Then you got the fucking Christmas Wednesday game, which I get and is going to do huge numbers. That sucks. If you're the Chiefs, you're like, wait, we got to go Saturday game so we get. We don't get an extra normal work week and then we play a game on Wednesday. But, like, part of the reason andy's get making 20 and Mahomes making 50 is like, where do you think the Bills are? Paid television, baby. But yeah, it's not inconceivable. Before I get into the other team schedules, I think it's much more about like, if the Chiefs screw up in one of these two games, it could unravel just because they could be exhausted and Denver played him well. My take would be though, 4. Get. You're telling me they go 12 and 1, so in 13 games they lose one game and then down the stretch, I don't see it being worse than 2. So that would be 2 and 2, which would make them 14 and 3. So the bills, like you said, would have to win out, which is possible. And let me click on the Steelers, who they got. I think their schedule is kind of hard. So the Steelers got obviously the Eagles this week, then the Ravens, then the Chiefs and the Bengals. I have a hard time seeing them win out. I really do. Like, I don't think that's happening. The Bills, it's all about this game because then they go Patriots, Jets, Patriots. So yeah, I mean, I don't think you're crazy, but the Chiefs can go 2 and 2 and those other teams would have to go 4, 0. It's a big game for the Bills on Sunday for sure. Really big game. Coming off 13 0, 2023 season and being snubbed from the college football playoffs and subsequently following that season with an abysmal 2 and 10, 20, 24 campaign. Can Mike Norvell right the ship at Florida State going forward? Will hiring Gus Malzon and Tony White at both coordinator spots chain be the change that's needed? What I don't understand, you know, from a firing coaches, it's like, you just went 130 with these guys, right? So then you bring them back. It's clear you suck because your quarterback was so abysmal. I mean, so bad. But there's going to be a lot of pressure on him because you go 13 and oh, even though you got screwed the playoffs or whatever, I don't think technically you did. But I understand people complaining about it. You can go like seven and five and everyone's like, okay, you get a little breather. Two and ten, you're just not. There are schools you are not ever allowed to go 2 and 10. And the moment you do it, even if you have some equity built up because Norvell did with the previous season, you are immediately on the hot seat. And that's basically any top, I would say, 12ish program. I mean, look at Ogeron. You could win the national championship if you go 2 and 10 the next year, you're on the hot seat. Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, South Carolina, Oregon would be the same. Like, you just would not be allowed to go 2 and 10. And you shouldn't be because you could have a weird season. Balls can bounce the wrong way. And you can go 7 and 5, 8 and 4 at one of the great programs. Right? You know, you watch LSU this year. It was a bizarre year. But if that's as shitty as it gets, it's like he can fight off everybody. And I don't think it's random that him and his wife donated. When I say him and his wife, I mean he's the guy making the millions. Brian Kelly donates a million dollars to the NIL fund. You know, it just quiets everyone down. So yeah, Brian, even you probably got 80 million in the bank. And if you got 80 in the bank, you're investing it. You turn that fucking thing into 150. So you give it a million, which I'm not one of those people who like to degrade others. Well, it's like he's doing it for tax breaks and it's like, listen. But like, you are doing it to help your program, but no one's looking at you the same when you're eight and four and you've lost some of the games you did. Now is he on the hot seat next year? You know, he's got a couple years, but like, that's where 8 and 4 start. 2 and 10, Florida State. Pretty sure Bobby Bowden was in the top five for like 15 straight years. I feel like I'm screwing up that stat, but it was Something outrageous. Okay, last question. Out of the four quarterback situations in the north as a coach, which one would you be most interested in? Goff under contract, but playing about the peak of his powers. Love under contract and showing signs of greatness, but lacks consistency. Darnold needing a contract plus JJ on the bench or Caleb Williams struggling potential rookie contract. Caleb. Would 100% be last? Without question. Caleb is last because there is no guarantee that he's good, he's made good plays. Can he be a good player? Unknown. Anytime you have an unknown at quarterback, it can easily go in the toilet as it can go to a Pro Bowl. I would say it'd be pretty hard if. Are we talking head coach or offensive coordinator? Because if I'm an offensive coordinator, it'd 100% be the Lions. I mean, because they have such a dominant offensive line. The problem with the Vikings is their starter left tackle did get injured. And anytime you hurt a knee and you're a big guy, you just. You kind of keep your fingers crossed. But I think that gets complicated. So to me, it would be Lions 1A, Packers 1B. I mean, they're loaded as well. And I like Jordan Love a lot. I think the Viking situation, in theory, it's really good. It's like they got Justin Jefferson, they got Jordan Addison, they got a tight end, they got good running back. But it's like that elephant in the room of the. Of the Darnold, JJ stuff. It's just. It usually gets weird. And most times when stuff gets weird, it derails you. It's not normal that. It's like, yeah, we. We got Jimmy Garoppolo, we drafted Trey Lance, we got Purdy. You usually don't make it out of the mud on that one. Even when you're good, it just. It can just overwhelm you. Now, I wouldn't bet against them, but to me, I couldn't place them as high as the other two. And to me, the Bears are dead. Last I saw Roma Dunes, a dad was either tweeting or Instagram into something like his maybe quoted a tweet like, what would his kid be doing somewhere else? He was like 112, hundred and ten touchdowns. Obviously, Rome's talented. I think looking back, the Bear should not have taken Roma Dunes, who is good. They should have taken an offensive lineman. Okay, we'll end on that. Have a great weekend. Talk to everyone soon. Adios.
