Jarvis Landry
We back, bro. You're stomping ground.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, I got the banner right there. That's the first thing.
Jarvis Landry
How many of y' all got, first of all?
Leonard Fournette
Oh, let me see, let me see. NFC championships, Super Bowl. Really? To me, the super bowl, only one that matter.
Jarvis Landry
18 years, bro. You broke an 18 year drought. 22,002 to 2012.
Leonard Fournette
That ain't me. It was a collective.
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
Effort.
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
How's it feel to be back, though, man?
Leonard Fournette
I feel it look great, man. You see everybody. All my old cameras, you know what I'm saying? I see my dog, Donovan Smith, you know, I'm saying a couple guys.
Bucky Irving
Q.
Leonard Fournette
Who played here. Yeah. Some time now. The media people talking to me. So.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Nah, Ramen joining. Man, it's nothing. Like, listen, like, like, hold on, hold on. I had to get that feel back.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, yeah.
Leonard Fournette
But nah, definitely, this is. This is the 30,000 yard for me. I ran 30,000 yards on this practice field, probably.
Jarvis Landry
Plus, plus daily. Yeah, every day plus, plus daily.
Leonard Fournette
We put that pain in.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
It paid off. Like this make you cry 100%. But you happy at the same time.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. I would say, like being back in this environment after not being out here for a minute.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, it's touchy.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Like, I'm ready to go. Give me my helmet, give me my shoulder pass number zero. Who that come out there right now? I come out right now and bang ahead.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Y' all need somebody. Concussion protocol. Y' all trying to cut somebody at the team. I can't do it for you.
Leonard Fournette
I'm just. I'm just saying, like, how many players would you last, though? That's the thing.
Jarvis Landry
Me right now.
Leonard Fournette
Right. Right now. I know you, you know, like football training and the training we doing right now is two different things.
Jarvis Landry
It depends on. It depends on the situation. If it's a two minute situation, I probably am not the right knob. Don't put me in there. But if it's a. But if it. But if it's a situation where we suck 36.
Leonard Fournette
Right.
Jarvis Landry
Right now, somebody in the business right now, being at the game three, four years, I go. I go kill somebody right now. 101 on one right now.
Leonard Fournette
So if they offer you a one
Jarvis Landry
year, zero dollars, I'll take it.
ChatGPT Advertiser
Zero dollars.
Jarvis Landry
100.
Leonard Fournette
That boy love.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, bro. 100%. And especially for the right organization, you know, like that definitely you guys won the championship here. That mean the culture was here. What was your Favorite thing about that, that championship season I saw you saw your guy, he won.
Leonard Fournette
I think, I think, I think the personalities, all that's a one on that team.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
But it's nothing like it. Like you coming in here, you saying grown, stretching, big ass stretching.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Me and AB raced every day.
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, we raced every day.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Leonard Fournette
Just to keep the competitive juices going. But I think for most of most important part of the personalities, man.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
And as you look before you got here, they were just saying like we don't have that. Like they don't have that now. Yeah, the personalities, people that, that shining that come in, talk, have fun.
Jarvis Landry
Yep.
Leonard Fournette
You know, and also as you see, it was raining when we was. It never rained.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, never rain. Started 24, 7 guys 20, 26 Bucs training camp. We have Baker Mayfield. We talk toughness, championship DNA.
Leonard Fournette
The boy.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. You were a buck. You know what I mean? Like Baker is a buck. He's doing the right things. They won the division and he has,
Leonard Fournette
and he has the DNA to be a winning quarterback here.
Jarvis Landry
Franchise quarterback.
Leonard Fournette
Let's get into it.
Jarvis Landry
Let's do it.

You want me say why? You going to say why this time?
Jarvis Landry
You say no, we got our dog. Let's get to it. I don't want to waste no time.
Leonard Fournette
All right, bet.
Jarvis Landry
Hey, listen. Also now that Mike Evans not here. You can finally say it, bro. Finally say it.
Leonard Fournette
Who was better?
Jarvis Landry
No, I ain't say that. I ain't say that. I ain't say that. Nah, I'm saying, like, you know, I genuinely feel like I was. Maybe, you know, maybe I'm biased. I feel like I was your favorite receiver, you know, just, you know, throughout the times, you know what I'm saying, we put some numbers up. We ended a drought, you know what I'm saying? Won a playoff game, and the players that hadn't won a playoff game and God knows how long.
Leonard Fournette
So y' all do have history.
Jarvis Landry
Oh, for sure. Like. Like real history. And, you know, Mike not hearing, so, you know what I'm saying? Maybe they could.
Baker Mayfield
No, I mean, I've always. I've always told people he's one of my favorite teammates of all time because, like, first time in the league, you think, welcome to the NFL. Step into a situation that's not exactly,
Leonard Fournette
like, you know, ideal.
Baker Mayfield
Ideal for everybody to have success and for Juice at the caliber of player he was, the way he led just by example and vocally just for everybody was like. It was huge for me. And then. Yeah. Just the conversations we would have together, looking back on it, I wish I had the football knowledge I do now, back then, to be able to, like, just actually get you the rock when we needed to and make it more simple. But, yeah, to have somebody like that, it's when I was truly learning the game was. Was huge.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. You did a special job. Don't sell yourself short, bro. You did. You did amazing, amazing, amazing job, man.
Bucky Irving
I know.
Jarvis Landry
Obviously, you're here in Tampa now. You off to extremely hot start, bro. How you feeling physically? You know. You know, after last year being beat up a little bit. Right. And now we here going into a new season, you know. How you feeling?
Baker Mayfield
I feel good. I mean, I. I think I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. I mean, it took. It took a while to like. To feel healthy enough to actually train and get to that point, but I feel great. You know, it's. You find your routine the later in your later years in your career, and you figure out what works for you, you know, schedule wise, workout wise, diet wise, all the things that you need to adjust and adapt to as the years go on. So I feel. Feel really good. Yeah. Last year was banged up.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
But I mean, the whole team was. And so I feel good about my physical, where I'm at right now. And then just for everybody, like, that we had play last year. They got thrown in the fire. I feel good about where the team's at right now, too.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Question for you. Right. So, you know, I was. I was part of the 20, 21 team, won a Super Bowl. Right. Is there any. Was there any pressure for you coming here knowing that the guy that was here, that set a lot of records. So was there any pressure mentally for you? Like, all right, I'm coming behind somebody who. Who has set the standard. Right. How do I at least get there or pass it?
Baker Mayfield
Yeah, I think there's a couple things there. It's like, I've always been me, and you can never replace Tom Brady shoes. Yeah. I don't care who you are. Only thing I can do is come in and be the best version of me, and that's talking shit.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Making sure that I, like I do. I lead in the way I know how to lead, definitely, and just be myself. Not try and do it the way he did, because, I mean, he was. He was 40 something at that stage. I mean, he probably knew what a defense was doing before they broke the huddle. And so just how can I do it in my own way? And I think there was more pressure put on it from the outside, but, I mean, rightfully so. It's like, who's going to replace them? Guys have been to the playoffs, won the super bowl, into the playoffs, and extra years after that. So it's like, yeah, the standard is high, but that's also why I wanted to come here. That's why I chose to come here, because you look at the pieces that you guys had after that run, after the deep playoff run, it's like, that's the culture. That's the type of place I want to be in. So, yeah, come in and don't try me, Tom. Be me.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, like that. I tell him all the time. I'm like, I remember you talking shit to Julius.
Bucky Irving
What?
Jarvis Landry
Peppers, Jabril Peppers, the Maryland. Like we said on. No, talking shit. Like. Like. Like low key. Like, I'm like, yo, that's a quarter.
Leonard Fournette
But you don't get that from the quarterback.
Jarvis Landry
We're gonna have to feel about the practice like.
Leonard Fournette
You know what I'm saying?
Jarvis Landry
Like, but. But I would say, man, I feel like. And. And I see it here, right? I feel like that attitude, right, that you bring to the team, to the culture, to the environment and the way that you're passionate about. You know, you spoke about me with it, but it also made me playing with you, talking. You talking shit to Them like, it. It makes the standard.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Like, you know what I'm saying? Like.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
You know what I mean? Like, how has that been here for you? Obviously, you know, like you said, there are pieces in place already, right? There are a couple. Some culture building stuff that was already here. Yeah. Right. How do you fit into it? How did you feel like you fit into?
Baker Mayfield
Made it pretty seamless. Yeah, for me. But it was also kind of. Guys were kind of like, the hell's going on with this guy?
Leonard Fournette
Right. It wasn't used to it.
Baker Mayfield
No, they weren't used to that because it was like Tom did his thing, show up quiet, and then game days, he dialed in. Like, he would get on you if you didn't have right depth or protect in the right way. And like, I know nobody's going out there to try and fail. And so, like, I lead in a different way. I spark it by talking shit to the defense. And that's, you know, like just being an undersized guy. You got a little bit of little man complex syndrome, whatever you want to call it. And so you got to fight for what's yours. And so I try and do that every day. And, you know, we're playing football, I try to make it fun for the guys when we're out there. Like, yeah, there's a time to lock in, but there's a time that we're competing, we're trying to knock each other's heads off and win.
Leonard Fournette
Got to.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Contrary to like, what people may or may not believe about, like, how hard it is to play quarterback in the NFL. Right. That alone, like you would, like, you must feel like a little bit of a journeyman. A little bit, right?
Baker Mayfield
Definitely. I mean, I'm going into year nine now, fourth team, 11th O.C. so, like, I think people play for multiple teams. It's rare to end up on one team and stay there your whole career. But I think it's more so the different systems that make me feel like I've been everywhere.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Just coaches that have had different stops, different systems, philosophies, what's their bread and butter, fundamentals, what they're calling on first and second down. And so it's that part to me, it's. It's been a lot to handle, but it also. Where I'm at now, where the game slows down, it's helped me out to realize what I really like and like, what the things I'm comfortable with checking in. It's like third and fourth down, gotta have it situation. So it's I know the things I'm comfortable with, and I know if I communicate that with the guys, if we're on the same page, it doesn't matter what system we're running, what play's called. If we're on the same page, good things can happen.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, absolutely.
Leonard Fournette
Man, I'm so glad y' all both are here.
Baker Mayfield
Right?
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Don't say nothing crazy.
Leonard Fournette
Nah, like. Cause, you know, I'm a realist. I just wanna know, can y' all tell me how, like, in Cleveland, like, was it a shit show?
Jarvis Landry
Nah, I.
Leonard Fournette
Wait, wait. I wanna hear from the man that they counted out. I'm just being real. Your time in Cleveland. Right. Cause I know you fought your ass off to make it a winning organization. Yeah, right. And I was kind of upset how they did you. And even before that, we spoke not as much, but here and there. I check on each other through Instagram and everything like that. How was that?
Baker Mayfield
You know, I think, like I mentioned earlier, it was eye opening to see that it wasn't just football for me, going from college to the NFL. It wasn't just about how do we win. There was a lot of people that are involved in it, and not everybody was trying to help us win. Not everybody was trying to do their part and do their role to. To do that. So I think that was the most eye opening part. But it wasn't. I mean, yeah, it was. There was ups and downs for sure, but a lot of downs with. When I came in in 2018, like the amount of high draft picks they had had in the past couple years, the free agent signings that we had before I got drafted, the culture was really starting to change. And that's a credit to John Dorsey, Elliott Wolf, Lonzo Highsmith for bringing in, like, football guys to truly try and change it. Like, you can't. Some things you can't change in a building, but you can change the locker room and the makeup of that. And they did a good job of
Leonard Fournette
building that by you being a quarterback.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Leonard Fournette
The formula is you have to go out there and draft winners. Right. I always tell people, you gotta be careful who you draft, because when you let people enter your team on your building, a lot of people come from losing colleges. That was my biggest thing. Right.
Baker Mayfield
Coming from losing college.
Leonard Fournette
No, no, no. Hell no.
Bucky Irving
Never
Leonard Fournette
before we continue with this,
Jarvis Landry
nine
Leonard Fournette
times out of ten, we would have played Oklahoma. Oklahoma.
Baker Mayfield
I want to get you riled up, honey.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. See, is that. Is that, you know.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, Right, right, right. He troop him get back. We get back we get back, he knows he would have whooped the ass dude, let y' all know. Cause guess what? You come on here planting shit on that tiger.
Baker Mayfield
I'm from the boot, you hear me?
Jarvis Landry
Hey, he got it. Nah, bro, listen. He got it. Bro, listen, obviously, you know, the makeup of y' all team, the structure is still there, but y' all lost a key piece, right?
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
You know, you love throwing the football. You lose Mike Evans, like, could you replace a guy like that? What's it like being at practice now and you know he's not out there. That was like your first main big target, you know, when you got here.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah, I mean, he's like. It was. It's funny when we get into like, just for example, get into like low red zone install. It's like, all right, day one stuff. It's like 12 duo. Look for that X fade.
ChatGPT Advertiser
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And like when you're installing it, you're like, all right, you know, find the safety, do all this, bring the Z over. It's like, all right, guys, why are we even talking about it? It's not double covered. We're gonna throw it to Mike anyway. And like, that's the type of thing that you can't replace Mike. Yeah, you can't like that. He's. He's one of one. He worked on his craft. He was so good at it. Obviously. Big dude, strong hands, understood how to. Quiet, but fiery, though, on game days. Understood how to win with body leverage and just play the game. So you can't, you can't replace him.
Tristan Wirfs
But.
Baker Mayfield
And it sounds messed up, he's going to be a Hall of Fame receiver. But of all the positions, to lose a guy like that, our receiver room was kind of made for it. We had. I mean, Chris is back looking like true cg, looking really, really good. Mecca is a stud. We asked him to do too much last year. Like, we took advantage of how smart he is to try and move him around and do whatnot. So he's going to take a big step. And then Jaylen McMillan, who's been. He's been hurt, got hurt in the preseason last year, but he's. He's probably our best one on one receiver separation wise juice. So we got. We got three really good guys. And then you got young guys like Tess Johnson that played a lot last year. Ted Hurst in the draft. David Sill's a guy that's played a lot of football, that knows the system. Came over with Z, Rob, and then, you know, the other skilled guys. But yeah, to lose to lose Mike stinks. You can't replace that. But when you have a room full of guys that have the capability and potential to move around and do different things, that's how you make up for it.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, I love that. I also see like, you know, around the league, the last two out of three years, you've been the shock caller of making all things happen. Tampa Bay. Right. You know, I feel like looking at from outside in the community has embraced you, like, and your wife, your family. Right. This locker room has embraced you. Right. We've seen throughout the history of NFL at your position, you know, organizations reinforce that. Right. You know, and double down on that. Right. Like, I know you going through some things right now, but like how has your teammates in this community supported you, you know, through, through, you know, this dilemma? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, how has that been for you?
Baker Mayfield
Yeah. Going back to the start, like right when we got here, Tampa community welcomed us in with open arms and like shortly after we got here, found out Emily was pregnant with her first, first kiddo and like just realizing that this is our home, that we're raising our daughter. And then a couple years later, now I have a three month old boy. So it's like this is home for us. But they've treated it and made it like that for us in the locker room. I mean you were in it like the O line room. A lot of those guys, everybody's so close. There's no egos in that locker room. It doesn't matter who you are, you just go about your business. And so for me, that feels like home. And so it makes it easy for me to just be upfront and honest. That's why like I've always worn my emotions and my thoughts on my sleeves. If you like that, great. If you don't, that's too bad. I'm not going to change for you.
Tristan Wirfs
And.
Baker Mayfield
But the guys appreciate that part of it. It's like we're, there's the business side of football. Yes, we all play this for a job, but they know that when it comes to game days, like it's, I'm ready for a good season like this. I want my lick back in 2026. Like we didn't, we didn't play well enough in 25. So it's, it's on go.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Outside of the injuries in 2026. Right. Like, like what would you say was, you know. Cause you guys started extremely hot, bro. Like, like on fire, you know, a couple comebacks in Atlanta and I'm Watching the show, and I see the guy talking shit to you in Seattle, like, what was that experience? Like, you know, obviously you love. I know you love playing on the road more than you do at home. Yep. Like, can you talk about, like, what did that come from? Like, when did that start for you? You know, you're just, like, killing people's dreams, huh?
Ashley Iaconetti
Yeah.
Podcast Host
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
I mean, you guys.
Baker Mayfield
You guys get it. Like, there's no better feeling than going on the road and whooping somebody's ass. But when the crowd goes silent.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And like, you. You take not just the team's soul. You take the fan soul.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Like, they're pissed.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Unless it's a division game, like. Or another team, like, they're not going to see you for another year.
Tristan Wirfs
Maybe.
Baker Mayfield
Maybe a couple after that.
Jarvis Landry
Sit on it.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah. And think about it. Stew on that and deal with it. Yeah. Like, I got you. I got your number, and that's what it is. So, I mean, to me, there's no better feeling than going on the road and winning.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Yeah. I feel the same way. I felt that about our playoff victory, too. Even though there was no fans in the stands, there was, like, 10 people out there. But I felt the same way about. About, like, going on the road, especially against a Pittsburgh team that had been dominating the division.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
And then beat their ass. Like, how we beat their ass. Like, it meant a lot.
Baker Mayfield
Football's like, it's the greatest team game. So it's like it's just you and your team out there versus everybody else. It feels like y' all versus the whole city.
Jarvis Landry
No, for sure. And it always is. And I think that, you know, we had that mindset then. And then you could see I felt that same attitude here, like, with you guys. And, you know, last. Like I said, last two out of three years, you guys have won the conference. Right. I would say the division. When you look at the division, the landscape of the division, you have Bryce. Bryce Young out in Carolina. Sorry if I say your name wrong. Tala Saw out in Shaw or whatever.
Tristan Wirfs
Shook.
Jarvis Landry
Shook out in. Out in New Orleans. Right. I don't feel like the division is, you know, I ain't trying no Bullet Border, you know, but I don't feel like the division is the problem. Right. I feel like for you guys, obviously, it's one game at a time mindset.
Bucky Irving
Of course.
Jarvis Landry
Right. But winning the division seems like the easiest thing to do at this point. Right. It's really getting off, getting over the playoff hurdle. Like, what do you think is the next Steps for the team to be able to do that, obviously, staying, staying healthy.
Bucky Irving
Y.
Jarvis Landry
But what are the other steps?
Baker Mayfield
No. And going back to division, it's like, yeah, everybody views the NFC south as probably the weakest in the whole NFL, and I get that. But we also haven't taken care of business within the division. We've split series with these teams. We've gone 02 against the Falcons and the Saints, whatever it might be. Like, it's. We haven't played to our potential. And, like, you got to take care of those games first.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And that's like, in the back of your mind, if you don't take care of those games, when it comes to a little bit of adversity down the road, you're like, oh, here we go again. So it's. We've played good against higher competition and some of the teams that are branded at top of the NFL, but we have to do that week in and week out. And I think that's, to me, that's the next step. And that's just about doing little things, right?
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, that's true.
Baker Mayfield
Doing that consistently throughout the year.
Leonard Fournette
The little things will separate you. And my question. My question will be, man, when it comes from a weather standpoint, the difference between where you at, where you at now, everyday sun is sunny.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
I always tell people, man, it probably. When I was here, it didn't rain during our training camp.
Baker Mayfield
No. This is the first time in four years.
Leonard Fournette
See what I'm saying? Like, this is the ideal state to play in.
Ashley Iaconetti
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Right. Taxes, you get all your money. And I'm saying we're gonna keep it real.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah. Can you. Can you tell me, because I've seen the community there and embrace you and your family. Was it similar in Cleveland, too?
Bucky Irving
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
But on steroids.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Like, that's. I mean, you said, like, generational families that are Browns fans, like, they talk about, I got these tickets for my great grandpa, pass them down lineage. Like, they're. They're nuts.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And it's like one of those rare fan bases that, like, it's. You're born into it. And so when we were rolling in Cleveland, it was. It was special. Like, it was fun, bro.
Jarvis Landry
I remember. I remember as the whole week of practice, the playoff week, like, we had, like, not a parade, but, like, every time we exit out the practice facility, like, fans were, like, just lined up on a Wednesday. Every day. Every day. When we got back from Pittsburgh at the airport, it's freezing cold, Fans everywhere. Like, we won the Super Bowl. Yeah. Which is great. Obviously. I know you play for your fans everywhere you've gone. And I look at your story, you've been a journeyman in reality since the beginning, right? Like, you know, since walking on at a college, you know, asking to play, not saying, hey, here's your scholarship. Like, you know, you went, asked to play, right? Like, is, is it safe to say, like, the chip on your shoulder is still getting bigger and you know what I'm saying? Like, is it. Is, is that, is that spare?
Baker Mayfield
Yeah, no, it is. And I think if it wasn't and I had the mindset of, oh, I've arrived, I wouldn't have a job. Yeah, you gotta. To me, you gotta show up every day trying to earn that, earn that, right? And yeah, I know a franchise quarterback here, but I still gotta show up and pay my rent every day. It's corny, cliche, whatever you want to say, but that's, that's the mindset I have. You got to go earn it each day. And if you're not trying to get better, somebody's doing it. That's true. Somebody's going to beat you. And that's, that's the nature of playing at the NFL. It's the highest level possible. So somebody's always chasing it. Take your spot.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, you and, and Emily have been even in Cleveland, you guys are always like, in the community, always doing, doing things. And it's no different here. You guys recently did like the topgolf thing and all that. Like, how has that been? Like, just, you know, being in the community, doing foundation work, you know, supporting, you know, the causes that you guys stand and believe in. Like, how has that been?
Baker Mayfield
I mean, you guys both did the same thing. Like, you realize that the platform we've been given, you got to give back or else you're not using it the right way. So for us, early on in my career, we didn't know what we wanted to do. So we do an event here, do something there. We didn't know, like, what exactly we wanted to target and do, like, truly support and put everything behind it. And so we started the foundation to support just under underprivileged youth, try and level the playing field for them to have the same resources that we did. You know, I was fortunate growing up, but to try and make sure everybody has the same opportunity to chase their dreams, whatever that may be. And so that's, that's a part of, like, when you're, get a new perspective on life, having kiddos, you realize raising your family is a Lot more important than playing football. And so making sure that you make Tampa a great place to raise kids for everybody and make sure everybody feels involved, feels like that. And that's how you get a fan base that'll ride or die for you as well. But it's. We wouldn't be using this platform or position unless we did that.
Leonard Fournette
Definitely. My last question. My last question would be, how good is a healthy Bucs team?
Baker Mayfield
I mean, top five in the league?
Jarvis Landry
Like, it's my kids.
Baker Mayfield
Once you get in the dance, y' all know anything can happen.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And so it's top five and it. And a healthy Bucs team up front. If it's not one, it's top two.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
Up front. And defensive line when they're healthy. We got depth now, and that's how the game's won in the trenches, but we got the skill guys. We got depth. And so if we can put the pieces together, you know, it's roster on paper, we got what it takes, but if we can put it together, it'll be a fun year.
Jarvis Landry
You know, I could talk to you all day and catch up and ask questions and pick your brain all day, but I know you gotta go. But I'll ask you, is there a team. Are teams circled on the schedule this year?
Baker Mayfield
First home game, week two, Cleveland.
Jarvis Landry
Okay. Oh, okay.
Baker Mayfield
About that action, boss.
Jarvis Landry
About that action. About that action, boss. I love it, man.
Leonard Fournette
Look again, Wait, before we. It's like, Is that, like, Is that gonna be like, I, I told you, or it's like. I'm not gonna say redemption because you.
Jarvis Landry
Is this the first matchup? Is this the first matchup? Is this the first.
Baker Mayfield
I played them in Carolina and they hit like a 63 yard field goal to win. Pissed.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
So. No, this is. It's weird. I play. Only played four years in Cleveland, felt like forever, but this is my fourth year here, so it's. Yeah, this is. This is home now, and it's time to show them which home is better.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, I. I remember you guys played Carolina when you were here and you were mic'd up and you was like, cuz I was with you. I was with you. I was. Well, well, Wilson was what? I see him in Cleveland as well, and so I know how personal you. You take those things, and it's rightfully so, man, because, you know, you wear your heart on your sleeve. You're a hell of a player. You mean a lot to, you know, me as a, As a. As a teammate that has played with you and been embraced by you, your wife, the family, Right? So I would say I was. I was thinking about I was going to be split on that day. But you know, you know where my allegiance lies? My allegiance always lies with the guys. You know what I mean? Like, we can play on any team. But beyond that, you know, the brotherhood, beyond the colors and the jerseys and the logos, like, that's forever. Forever, you know, so, you know, go get him.
Baker Mayfield
He's the only guy. He's the only guy ever that he's thrown a game or a pass in game that I've been like, all right, you better stop throwing. That thing is pretty crazy, is.
Jarvis Landry
I remember every time I've thrown a pass, like you said, from Dallas, throwing in Dallas to Odell to throw into DPJ in Carolina and get my shit rocked. I got rocked. I think I got rocked. I think I got a rough in the passer as a receiver and everything. I got rocked. I ain't gonna lie. And every time you came up to me like, bro, you crazy.
Baker Mayfield
Like, I mean, he is just ripping it.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
So listen, before we head out, can you give me any of your favorite J. Jarvis Landry moments?
Baker Mayfield
One of the best catches I've ever seen. We're playing the Colts at home in 2020, and it was a keeper to the left under thrown ball. The guys, like, trying. Just trying to catch up and run. Jarvis run across the field from right to left. He's trying to come up and catch up to it. And you just went over. Yeah, I mean, and his big old Grinch finger went over the top. And it's just like, where the. Where the hell did those come from? And where did that ball just go? It just collapsed it. And then my rookie year, we're playing. Oh, my gosh. We were playing. It might have been the Bengals at home. And regardless, had a reverse pass. And Jarvis gets the ball from the right, comes back, sets up going left, and Rashad Perriman is hauling down the sideline. You know, Rashad, he can roll, and it's not like he's wide open by any means. There's a corner on him. You see Jarvis crow hopping this thing, and I mean, 55 yards down the field, drops it into a bucket. Yeah, the craziest throw I've ever seen a receiver make, ever. And at that point, I looked at him, I go, you're absolutely insane. You can't throw anymore. You're embarrassing me. It looks like you should be back here throwing it. And it just. With just the fire, all that. It was juice always Knew how to.
Leonard Fournette
And I know you're an Oklahoma guy. Could you have seen yourself playing at LSU with us?
Jarvis Landry
Oh, for sure, for sure. This man, Dougie, listen, he would have filled right in with the coach. Right in with the coach.
Tristan Wirfs
It would have been fun.
Jarvis Landry
Sensation. Who you had? CD Lamb. Sterling Shepherd.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah. So my first year was Shep and Dee Dee Westbrook.
Jarvis Landry
Dd. Yeah. Dee Dee was nice.
Baker Mayfield
Mark Andrews was a freshman.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Baker Mayfield
And then. So Mark was there my whole time. And then Shep left. Dede and just a couple other role players at that point. And then my last year was CD Lamb, Marquis Brown, Mark Andrews. We had some guys.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, you had some guys. You would have had LSU. You'd have had neighbors. Jets.
ChatGPT Advertiser
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Lacey. Shit. Bryant. BT. Yeah. Like 10 receivers, take your pick. It feel like how you feel now.
Baker Mayfield
So it's LSU or Ohio State. Receiver U.
Jarvis Landry
You know who it is?
Leonard Fournette
I know I'm let you answer that because I'm.
Jarvis Landry
Somebody said this. Somebody said this. And maybe you could agree with it, right? When Ohio State receivers leave college, they're a little bit more polished as far as, like, details, fundamentals, route running. But LSU receivers, like, we just got the dog. Like, we just, like, you know, it's like another something. Something to them than it is about them. And I feel like most people, if they had to decide and pick and didn't live in the Northwest and they had to decide, right, they would pick an LSU guy, you know what I mean? Or they'll pick lsu. That's just my personal opinion, but I might be biased. What you think?
Baker Mayfield
I mean, I think you hit it right on the head, though. Like, their Ohio State receivers come out polished.
Jarvis Landry
They're really good.
Baker Mayfield
Mecca, like, I've never seen anybody come out of college more ready to play in the NFL than that kid. Yeah, he could play quarterback. He's that smart. Understands concepts, where to line up, depth, where he's at in the progression. Like, different. But yeah, I mean, I think it's. If you're going for, like, around the country, you see kids rocking jerseys. I think it's more LSU jersey for
Jarvis Landry
sure than Ohio State for sure.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, before we head out, is there any question you ever wanted to ask me or Juice? Well, you know, y' all was teammates, but any questions you ever wanted to ask me personally or one of my
Baker Mayfield
thoughts on how the hell do you stiff arm so damn hard? It looks like I play angry, but you look like you're fighting demons when you run the ball.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, you know what, bro? I think that's just Who I've always been. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you play with a lot of guys on this team that know me. And a majority be around. They love me. But when it comes to, like, when we get on the field.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
We ain't friends. Like.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
You know what I'm saying? So I can remember, like, we always had, like, halftime breaks, whatever, commercial breaks. And C.J. gardner.
Jarvis Landry
Yep.
Leonard Fournette
He tried to come shake Brady hand this and that.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Leonard Fournette
Well, listen, listen. We cool now. But in the season.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
I used to tell him, bitch, back up.
Jarvis Landry
Right?
Leonard Fournette
Before I break your motherfucking hand.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Leonard Fournette
Stop trying to come friendly about my quarterback. Cause me, personally, I'm about taking a fine. I'm gonna beat the piss out you, if that's what it takes for us to win.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah. To set the tone, we can cancel the game.
Jarvis Landry
Just put YouTube back in facts. We cat it out.
Leonard Fournette
But that's really how. The year we won the super bowl against the Chiefs.
Jarvis Landry
They beat the fuck out of us
Leonard Fournette
the first game, which, you know, I wasn't playing, so they had it all. Right. But that super bowl game, you was the difference. You heard? Donovan just said.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, bro.
Leonard Fournette
Listen. I'll be in a pile and get up. I just slap the fuck out somebody.
Jarvis Landry
Boom.
Leonard Fournette
Just cause. But I'm setting the tone, though. That's what you need. We not here to be no friends.
Tristan Wirfs
I love it.
Leonard Fournette
Right? Nah, nah. After the game. I'm beyond whatever you on. Cause I fucked up. I slapped you. I should never did that. But I gotta set the tone to let you know, bitch is gonna be for every quarter. We gonna whoop your ass.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. So no. Bake had a couple carries this year. You broke the pocket a couple times.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, bro. Get down, bro.
Jarvis Landry
Big runs.
Leonard Fournette
Look, I understand the attitude you got, but we need you, bro.
Baker Mayfield
I know, I know.
Leonard Fournette
Get your ass out of bounds.
Jarvis Landry
Slide.
Leonard Fournette
I wish he wasn't a fucking movable quarterback.
Jarvis Landry
No, but he been like this, though, since Cleveland. I do think this, And I think. And I know we may be running over time, but I do think that you have a great situational awareness to say it's third down or we need this first down on second down so we can still keep calling our shit. You know what I mean? And, like, am I wrong about that? Because I feel like that's in. Fans maybe don't see it that way.
Leonard Fournette
Right.
Jarvis Landry
Fans see it like this. Our franchise called about, if we lose,
Leonard Fournette
never see it how we see it. So.
Baker Mayfield
No, that's a lot of. It's like Methodical, like the. Everything I do is intentional. Like sometimes it's, it might be, it might be, it might be first. First down, but our team's in a lull.
Jarvis Landry
I need the energy.
Baker Mayfield
I might slide late to take a hit. Get the boys going. Let them come over and set the tone. Get them sparked up. Yeah. Third down. Situational awareness. Yeah, there's, there's certain points, I can definitely be better about it and I know that. But yeah, every once in a while they guys need a little kick in the ass.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, I respect that. Risk getting no biscuit.
Jarvis Landry
Listen, listen, you talk about CJ Gardner Johnson when he was in, I think he was in Houston and I watching that game and I'm like, get up, get up. And you jumped up, popped up and you got in his face. And obviously on, on Netflix, they kind of brought it all back full circle because I didn't know what you said on tv. Right? Like I feel like that shit fires you up. Like not just the team. It's like yo, like, yeah, like now we here.
Baker Mayfield
It helps me too. Yeah, I might, I might do it for me.
Jarvis Landry
I don't know.
Baker Mayfield
Very selfishly, but yeah. Just to dial it back in and realize, all right, this is. I'm trying to, I'm trying to kill you.
Jarvis Landry
100%. 100%. And they came back, won that game. So man, look, much respect to you, much love always. I need my jersey. I need you to go in the equipment room right now and give me a 6 jersey. Tell them they could put the super bowl patch on it too. Cause my guy's going all the way this year. You heard?
Leonard Fournette
Yes sir.
Jarvis Landry
Put the super bowl patch on it and sign it so that you don't have to do it later. So I made sure I got mine now. Gotcha.

We back again with another one. We got the young, humble. Yeah, I call him mammoth. Cause when I was there, I ain't believe he was a rookie. You know what I'm saying? Mr. Tristan Wurfs.
Tristan Wirfs
How we doing?
Leonard Fournette
How you doing, my brother?
Tristan Wirfs
Good, baby, good.
Leonard Fournette
So I was telling Jarvis you've been spoiled since you came to the NFL.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, a little bit.
Leonard Fournette
Rookie year, super bowl, having to block a Tom Brady. You had Gronk on your team. Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, me. Can you tell us? Because I know. Cause I was there.
Ashley Iaconetti
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
How that huddle was every time, bro. Game by game, playing in those serious moments to elevate our, our gaming to be champions.
Tristan Wirfs
I've, I've said it before. Like, one, it just felt like, like Madden, like growing up playing Madden, I was like, this is what, like this is what I was playing like with these guys. And then two, I remember there was never like a doubt that we were gonna lose.
Chris Godwin
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
It was just like the guys that we had, the situations we were in, it was just like, we're gonna be fine, you know, like, Tom's gonna make something happen. Everyone's gonna be, you know, we're gonna be fine.
Ashley Iaconetti
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
And it was like just, just having that feeling was crazy. Like it was Atlanta. Like, was it the last game of the year or something? Second last game of the year.
Chris Godwin
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Down. I don't know how much I'm like, yeah, we're like, it's all right.
Leonard Fournette
We're gonna come back.
Tristan Wirfs
We're gonna come back. We did. And like that's how it. But that's how it felt. And just, just having all those guys in the huddle, like all you guys was as a, as a 21 year old kid was like, I don't know, it was nuts. It was nuts.
Jarvis Landry
Can you look back on that time like, like, as well, like the pressure of like feeling like, you know, locker for Brady. Because like I've, I've seen Brady, you know, curse lineman out.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Curse his teammate. Damn near curse the coach.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, Yeah, I cursed out some gang.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah. Steelers Game was scary.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
No, at the time, I didn't really know, like, how big of an ask it was like. Or like how big of a job it was. I was just like, yeah, this is what I got to do, you know? And Tom never really, like, like, yelled at me, you know, he was just like, he would kind of like, motivate me a little bit or just like, just talk to me. And that was like, my only goal was, like, to not like, piss him off or like, not. Not have him be like, mad at me specifically. So I was like, you know, he can yell at us with the old line. Like, I get that. You know, we're all, you know, we gotta set the tone, everything like that. Like, he can come yell at us, but I didn't want to.
Leonard Fournette
Individually.
Tristan Wirfs
Individually, you know, I was like, just don't piss him off, you know, And I don't think I, like, I. I don't remember him ever, like, yelling at me. So I was like, I was like, I'm good. I was like, I'm like, I did it, you know, but just that I didn't realize, like, the, you know, I didn't. I had high expectations of myself, but, like, I didn't see like the, like how big of a job. I was like, oh, like, you know, blocking for the 40, 42 year old Tom Brady. Like, I gotta, you know, I gotta protect this guy, you know. And I was like, yeah, it's my job. I just gotta go do it.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Looking back on it, like, what the. Like, I was a little kid, dude.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
You know, but no, it's crazy. Like, I was just going out there and just trying to like, you know, we had Joe Gilbert, the. Oh, I go, she told me. He's like, he's like, don't worry about anything else. He's like, if you're doing your job, he said, you're gonna be like, that's the best way you can help the team. He's like, by doing your job.
Chris Godwin
I was like, all right, sweet.
Tristan Wirfs
Like, I'm gonna try my best.
Leonard Fournette
So listen, that's real. We kind of got into it because he didn't think I was a good blocking back.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Can you tell him? Because I'm asking all my former teammates this. What was it like playing with Lenny when it came to blocking?
Tristan Wirfs
Lenny would throw a chip. Yeah, Lenny would throw a chip on the. On the edge a few times. Dorito. Yeah, Dorito. I'd look back, you'd say that too. You'd be like, I look, I look back, Dorito Dorito. Who you hit?
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Who'd you hit?
Tristan Wirfs
You lit somebody up. It was Sam, and we were playing in Dallas. You got player of the game.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah. Yeah, I did.
Tristan Wirfs
We still have that ball if you want. It's in your line room.
Leonard Fournette
I gave it to y'.
Jarvis Landry
All.
Tristan Wirfs
You did give it to us. You still have it.
Jarvis Landry
That's y.
Leonard Fournette
That's y.
Tristan Wirfs
No, Lenny would. Lenny would. Lenny would lay the wood. Yeah, he'd lay the wood.
Jarvis Landry
That's awesome.
Tristan Wirfs
No, that's what other people say.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, they say the same thing.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, they know.
Tristan Wirfs
I think for tackles like, that's like. We'd get. We'd get chips from you.
Leonard Fournette
This. This happened when I told him I probably could block a.
Jarvis Landry
No, thank you. Thank you. Hey, Miles. Gary.
Tristan Wirfs
No, you couldn't.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, you thought when they do the switch. I did it before. You forgot in la, when I.
Tristan Wirfs
Okay.
Leonard Fournette
I hit the. Out of it. Didn't do much to him, but it gave our quarterback a couple of seconds to make the right read, the right throw.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. I mean, but you're not blocking.
Tristan Wirfs
You're not blocking him. You're not blocking him.
Jarvis Landry
Guys. You talking about he can hold his own for five seconds. I can't. It's five seconds, bro. You would be on your back.
Tristan Wirfs
No, I think we can set that up.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Because Aaron Donald is not playing right now. You're not playing right now. Ain't nothing. No.
Leonard Fournette
Okay, but. But I need a line. I'm not. First of all, I'm not gonna. Aaron, I'm not about to block you one on one. I said switch. You know how to switch. You're not a switch.
Jarvis Landry
Work.
Tristan Wirfs
We did it. We did it against the Bills one year. I was. I was on the right side. They ran a te. Somebody was looping all the way around. And like, I passed. I. I passed them to you somehow.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Oh, and I fell over.
Leonard Fournette
You winning touchdown to Rashad.
Tristan Wirfs
Yes.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, it's Emmy, dog.
Tristan Wirfs
Listen, Tristan, we can pull that clip up, dude. We had like, you remember, we switched.
T-Mobile Advertiser
We.
Leonard Fournette
We.
Tristan Wirfs
Me and Lenny passed off a game.
Leonard Fournette
We definitely switched.
Tristan Wirfs
Me and Lenny passed off a game.
Jarvis Landry
I. I love that.
Bucky Irving
I love that.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah. Now I believe him.
Tristan Wirfs
That's right. We get the clip.
Jarvis Landry
But, Tristan, you talked about something earlier, man, that, that was. Was fantastic. When you talked about being in the huddle with Leonard, Tom Brady, a lot of these older guys, and. And how they handled your maturation process, right. Understanding that you were a young guy, right. You probably didn't need the type of ex. Heated exposure that. That More different type of players got right. Like, like now that you're older player, like you are the vet, you know, in, in your room, on the team, in the locker room. Like, like how have you, you know, use those, those skills that you learn from them and the situations and experiences to be a leader now for, for this team.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, I mean nobody, nobody ever like I want to say, like called me out, you know, when I was a young player, like they were like, they just brought me along. They're like, this is what, you know, this is how it is. This is how we prepare. This is how we practice, this is how we meet, you know, and you're here to like help like help us be better, you know. So we're going to bring you like we had Alex Kappa. That's what I played next to. Like, he's like, just come talk to me. He's like, come ask me questions and like, I wouldn't be like here without him. Like he was, he was a big part of like my, even my, my maturation my rookie year. Like, like the, like even on the, like on the field, like how, like how I was playing, like my, my confidence. But like that's what I'm trying to do now is like what guys did for me when I was young. It's like bring him along. Like, help them. Like, you know, like, how do you see something like just, you know, like, give them your perspective. Like, oh, I remember when I did this, you know, like I was in this situation, you know, like just trying to bring them along because like, you know, I guess sometimes guys need an ass grip and I'm not very good at that. I'm not, you know, I'm not good at yelling or like talking, but you know, you can talk to guys. Like they'll listen. You know, like if you've been around the block for, for a while, it's like you, you know, you've been in these situations, like you've done this, you've done that. It's like they'll listen and I feel like that's how I was when, when I was a young player. It's like I want these guys opinions and I want their help. You know, I want to, I want to do this for a long time. So like, what's going to, what's going to benefit me the most? What's going to help me become a better player. So like that's all I'm trying to do is, yeah, is, is give as much, you know, feedback as I can or like, you know, be Be a resource for guys to come to and ask questions.
Jarvis Landry
You know, you seem like the most humblest first rounder.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
He's a fucking kid.
Jarvis Landry
I know, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying, like, you know, like, like your love for the game, your passion, your respect for the game.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Like, I think a lot of it is like a respect for the game. It's a respect for the craft of like, man, look, I know I'm good, but I may not be there yet, right?
Tristan Wirfs
Dude, the hay's never in the barn. It's like guys are always trying to, like, regardless of what position is, the guys are always like working to get better. It's like if you're not working, it's like, okay, like, what did somebody do that day that you didn't do? It's like, it's like that fear of like not being good enough. It's like you got to keep going, you know, you're never there yet. I think being, you know, playing online too is kind of like you always have this anxiety in the back, your back of your head. But, but still, it's just like you just want to be the best. It's like you got to keep working and keep getting better and keep improving because someone else is gonna, you know, someone else is gonna be doing it. Yeah, just trying. I just try.
Jarvis Landry
And did you grow up with a, with a, with a family background? Like sports? Football specifically?
Leonard Fournette
No, my mom wrestled.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah. Yeah, I just, I did it. You know, I grew up in a really, really small town.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, from a really small town. Like, me and my buddies would just go from football, baseball, wrestling, track, like just go from season to season, like just having, having fun and, and playing and being an athlete. Like, I think that's so good, so good for kids is to play multiple sports. I got people, you know, parents come talk to me now. They're like, when did you get a. Yeah, specialist? I was like, specialist?
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
For what?
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
For what?
Tristan Wirfs
Let's just go play, you know, go have fun. Like playing all these different sports, you get exposed to so many different movements, different patterns. Like swinging a baseball bat is different than taking a pass at, different than throwing a football, then, you know, throwing the discus. Like you're spinning in a circle. Like you're getting exposed to so many different movements and muscle groups are, are getting developed. And I think it just makes you such a, such an all like a well rounded athlete. And. But it's just like that's just what we did, you know, from, from first grade. To my senior year. Like, we all played everything together.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
So it's just like.
Baker Mayfield
That's.
Tristan Wirfs
That's kind of what I like.
Leonard Fournette
True story. He taught me how to cut. Cut weight in a sauna. Remember that?
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Using the what? It's some fucking wrestling technique that he taught me. And it works.
Tristan Wirfs
It does work.
Leonard Fournette
So shout out. Shout out to Big Tris.
Jarvis Landry
I want to know about this. Tell me about this.
Tristan Wirfs
You're sweating. You just take, like, a car.
Jarvis Landry
I am retired now, you know what I'm saying? Just in case I put another 20, you know what I'm saying?
Bucky Irving
On.
Jarvis Landry
I need to get it off.
Tristan Wirfs
Get it. When you start. When you start rolling, sweat, like, in the sauna. I get, like, debit card, hotel key, your id, whatever. Just, like, scrape your.
Leonard Fournette
Use your emex.
Jarvis Landry
Like, gosh, yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Use your amex.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Like, scrape the sweat off you. And I'm telling you, somebody told, like, an older wrestler told it to me when I was cutting weight. I passed it on to Lenny. I think it works.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, it does.
Tristan Wirfs
I think it works.
Leonard Fournette
So by we play with the Go TB12.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Now you have Baker. Can you tell me the resemblance between those two?
Tristan Wirfs
I think they're competitive nature. Like, Tom's uber competitive. Like, Baker's uber competitive.
Baker Mayfield
It's just.
Tristan Wirfs
Bake's gonna put the team on his back.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
He's like, let's go. He's like, we're gonna go to war. And you're like, yeah, I'm in. You know, I think that's how like. Like, that's how it was with Tom. It's like, you remember the super bowl speech?
Leonard Fournette
Hey, listen. The best speech, the best beast to the day I've ever heard. I've heard the mother. The King speech, the Malcolm X speech, bruh. That was probably the. The best speech I've heard.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, I heard linear perspective of it because you told me about it a little bit. Like, what was your perspective of it?
Tristan Wirfs
It's funny hearing. I just saw Steve McClendon.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
I just saw him talk about it. And, like, you can't really, like, describe that in words. No, you can't describe it. Like, he didn't.
Chris Godwin
He didn't.
Tristan Wirfs
You know, he didn't talk all year, like, pregame. And you would think, like, Tom. You know, Tom. Me and Tom would, like, every game would be like, give something, but he'd, like, let everyone. Everyone else, Levante, Mike, whoever, talk, you know, and then, you know, you know, fate have it. We make it the super bowl.
Leonard Fournette
Out the blue. Yeah, yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Out the blue, just come to the middle. And you're like. He starts.
Chris Godwin
He starts talking like, I almost cried in that.
Leonard Fournette
I ain't lying.
Tristan Wirfs
I. It's funny because, like, I was just talking about this the other day, but, like, there was no doubt in my mind after this, after that speech that we were losing.
Leonard Fournette
So listen, I told him, throughout the whole week, we had zero mes. That was the first time. That was the first time. And it means is miss error, mental errors. That was the first time. And I don't know how long we have ever had that. Yeah, we're the first play in practice. I go run a. I don't know why. 60 yard bomb. And I caught it.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
I'm like, oh, we about to beat the outdoor.
Tristan Wirfs
And it's crazy because, like, we're like. We're practicing out here and all this stuff's getting set up. Like, we're watching them put all the banners up for the super bowl. And. What did BA Say? He's like. He's like, don't look at that. He's like, you keep looking over there, you're gonna be real sorry that you did something like that. He gave us a big. Like, these. But it doesn't matter. Like, it's like, you know, it's. It's still a week till the game's played, but we're watching them put the. Put the stuff up. And he's like, you're gonna get your, like, hearts broken. What's, like, looking over there, but, like, Tom Speed. You can't put it into words. Like, he just like. And it was like, it started off super, not mellow, but, like, it was chill. And then just slowly started, like, he wasn't yelling, wasn't screaming, but just, like, going up. Like, I'm getting. Like, I'm getting chills. Going up, going up, going up. And then, like, he ends and it's just like. It's like, we're gonna win. Like. Like, there was no doubt in my mind that we were losing. And it was. It was. It was wild. We had no Emmys that week. We're like, what's going on?
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
No, that was wild.
Leonard Fournette
That was wild.
Jarvis Landry
How close are you guys here from that mom?
Tristan Wirfs
I think. I think we're right there, dude. I mean, like, bakes, like. And we've seen it. Like, he's, you know, over his years here. Like, you look at his, like, stats.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
He was, like, leading the league in touchdowns.
Bucky Irving
Like, and.
Tristan Wirfs
And he was like, you know, everybody was. He was banged up last year. We like everyone was banged up last year. Like we were like we had like 13 or 14 different like guys play along the old line. Like J ma out, Mike was out, Bake was hurt. Like we just had this, you know, and everyone has injuries in the NFL, you know, everybody, everybody does, but it's like you need that, like that, that same like chemistry look throughout, throughout. Everybody like we didn't have in 2020. Nobody was like, yeah, everyone was there. Everyone was like playing.
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
And I think, I think we're really close. It's, it's, it's. It's such a close knit team. We all have each other's back and just that, that feeling like, you know, we'll just go to war for each other. And I think it starts with, it starts with six. I think the, the, like our entire O line room, like we're so close. Yeah, it's just a good, it's just a good, the wider room. Like CG's leading, you know, leading from the front. Like, he's just an awesome dude. He was just in here like you, you like, you saw. He's an incredible person, incredible player, but just guys across the board like that are good people and, and really, really good football players. So it's like, I think that's where it starts.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Speaking on injury. Right. And I, I can only imagine how you felt 2022 when you couldn't play in that playoff game against the Rams.
Tristan Wirfs
Dude, I was, that was the first game I'd ever missed in my life. And I remember, you know, just got, we ran, we ran title back to back against the Eagles. Hit it for like, hit it for like 12 yards. The first play had beat. Run the again. Yeah, let's go. So I pulled again and I'm like driving the guy up in the second level. Just, you know, right on my ankle. The pile kind of landed on me. I remember I was like, I was like, that feels. I was like, I don't like that feeling. That feels weird. I remember trying to like I have a bull rush from like Ryan Kerrigan.
Leonard Fournette
They try to play again and try
Tristan Wirfs
to sit on a bull rush and just like, like go. They just like buckles. I'm like, oh my God. I'm like that, like that hurts and there's nothing to it. And I remember Cap was like, he's like, just go down. He's like, just go. I'm like, no, I'm fine. I'm fine. And I think it was like end up being like fourth, you know, third down, third down. So he coming off. I'm like, okay, try to go back out there. Another one, another bull rush. And then my. It's just given out and I, like, I tore some stuff my ankle. But Rams the next week, you know, end up winning that game. And I didn't play the rest of
Jarvis Landry
that game,
Tristan Wirfs
go out again or go have the Rams next week at home. And I'm in the hotel room like, like, trying to, like, take past. That's like, I'm good, I'm good. I'm okay, you know, And I get there to stadium early and, you know, my ankle is. My ankle's up. And our trainer was like, you know, hadn't done anything. He's a hop on one leg. And I'm like. I'm like, wow. Like, I, you know, warmed up or like, knowing. Knowing I physically. Knowing, like, knowing I physically couldn't. I'm like, just. I'm like, let me, you know, let me warm up a little bit. And just. He's like, I've got to protect you from yourself. He's like, he's like, you can't. You physically can't go. Go play a football game. And I'm like, that sucked. That was the first game I've ever missed.
Leonard Fournette
How you felt, though, knowing that we had a good chance of going back to back.
Tristan Wirfs
Oh, I know, I know.
Leonard Fournette
And I never. And I. And even after the game, you know, we. We all kind of. We spoke, but we all went out, went our ways. But I never asked you how you, like, how you felt on the sideline watching that when we was down in the first, I think, like, 20 something to seven. Like, it was getting our ass whooped.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, you kind of feel helpless a little bit. Cause like, we had like, Josh Wells out there who was battling something. Like, he had, like a deep quad brace and. And then he came out and like, got it wrapped up. And like, Nick Lever, like, also a rookie, you know, my boy was out there and it's like Von Miller and like, Aaron Donald. That's like his second, like, time he's seen action all year. And like, he went out and did it, though. But, like, you know, he battled. And it's like you just feel like. Like you just feel like a piece of shit. Like, when you're out, you're like. It's like you're sending your boys out to, like, out to battle. And you're just sitting there, you're like, oh, I'm fine. You know, that's how it feels. And you're like, you're like, I'm just a piece of.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
And, like, knowing everything that had already gone on that year. And, like, we're still. We were at 13 and 5. Like, we're. We're good as 21.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
And sitting there, like, my first time ever, like, missing.
Baker Mayfield
Missing.
Tristan Wirfs
And I'm like. Like, I was, like, physically, like, sick. I'm like, this. I'm like, this blows.
Leonard Fournette
You know, I'm a gift guy. When I was here, I was a vet in my room, and I brought all our guys. Louis Vuitton bags, it says right here. You know, what was. What's going. What was Baker's best gift he's gotten y'? All? But it says in Cleveland he brought them John Deere tractors, golf clubs, a special trip, and golf carts. Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Has it been anything close to that?
Tristan Wirfs
Here we get these badass electric bikes. Last year, I still have mine. Yeah, they're. They're Murph bikes. Yeah, they're sweet.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Year before that.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Can you remember
Tristan Wirfs
he got us these custom tequila bottles.
Jarvis Landry
Okay.
Tristan Wirfs
With a custom, like, leather carrying case.
Bucky Irving
Don't doubt that.
Tristan Wirfs
He got us watches. Tag Heuer. He got us those.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
They're like bucks colors, too. That was kind of sweet. There's like. Some had a black band, some had a red band.
Jarvis Landry
Well, just let me know because I got. You know, I'll text them and make sure, you know, I'll be like, hey, listen, online, I'm happy you start planning a gift right now.
Tristan Wirfs
You can't.
Baker Mayfield
You can't put that on me.
Jarvis Landry
I ain't gonna tell them it was you. Anonymous. I got an anonymous tip.
Tristan Wirfs
No, I love them. I still. I remember I rode the bike yesterday. I put my. I got a little, like, carrying. I got a little carry. My son was on the back. Yeah. Yeah. We had a good time, man.
Jarvis Landry
Trusting. Another football related question before I let you go is, you know, when I look at. And I hear you speak about your first year here, Super Bowl. Right. And then you hear about. I think Baker steps in after that.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Then you guys win the division.
Tristan Wirfs
Back to back again.
Jarvis Landry
Back to back.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Again, Right. Last year. You don't. Is there urgency, like, within this team, or is it just a confidence to know that, like, you know, it's only a matter of time before we get there again, you know, whether it's because of our team as a whole, whether it's because God has called into plays, whether it's because we're older now, we're healthier. You know what I mean? Like, is there a sense of urgency or is it just more of a.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, I think there's definitely a sense of urgency, but I also think it's a little bit of all that. Honestly, it's like, we've been there before, you know, we've won the division. It's like, okay, like, we've been to the dance. You know, Baker's first year, we kind of made that run. You know, we beat. We beat Philly here, and then we go to Detroit and, like, lose a close one. We're like, you know, Baker's first year here thinking, you know, everyone thinking like, hey, like, bait coming in, replace Tom. Like, how's it going to go? He's like. He's like, I'm fucking here, you know, he's like, let's. Let's, you know, might as well do it, you know, and him playing, you know, kind of want to prove it to you, and he's like, no. Like, this is where I want to be. Like, everyone, you know, I think we all embraced him. Like, he's, you know, my best friend. Like, year two with him, like, it's just still gonna, you know, still go to the playoffs, still win the division. And so we're right there.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
You know, then last year, going how. How it went, you know, leaves that. That sour taste in your mouth. You're like, damn. You know, we're like, you can.
T-Mobile Advertiser
You.
Tristan Wirfs
You know, you can point on this, this, this or this. You know, that's what we're on. But it's like, can you. Can you point it at that? It's like, okay, like, that year's over. Now he's gonna get better, you know, And I think seeing, you know, we had a big group of guys who are training this off season. There's another place in Tampa that had a bunch of guys training. Like, you see people putting in the work, and it's like, okay, like, people are hungry. Like, now we gotta, you know, we got. We got something to prove. It's like, you know, we can't just keep going to the playoff. You know, it's like, you gotta, like, that's the goal. That's the goal for. That's the goal for all 32 team. You know, only one team's happy at the end of the year, but. But still, it's like, you know, we got a good group of guys and. And I think everyone's hungry to kind of get. Get over that hump, you know, over that playoff hump, over that first round exit, that second round exit hump, you know, so, yeah, it's exciting performing at
Jarvis Landry
the moment because you like, man, listen, I came into a Super bowl like this is the expectation every year.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah, it's.
Tristan Wirfs
It's strange. That feeling's weird. But it's like, you want another one so bad.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
And it's like you like, I mean, even that stretch, like throughout the playoffs, like, we went on the road three times. We went to. We went to the Commanders, we went to Green Bay, and then we went to New Orleans for the play them for the third time that year was crazy. After we got our aspee, was it 48 to three at home. We go there for a third time and it's like, it's like we got to give. We got to get, you know, give them one. You know, we can't. We can't go. We can't get over. Over three against them. And we're just like running the ball, running the ball. It's like, damn, damn. You know, and it's like. And then after that, it's like going up to Green Bay, like, historic Green, Historic Lambo. It's like snow. And these fat snowflakes were like, oh, my God, that was my 22nd birthday, that game. Woke up in the morning, I turned 22, played in Lambo for the NFC Championship.
Jarvis Landry
Crazy.
Tristan Wirfs
That game was crazy. It's Scotty Miller, like, down the, like down the right before halftime, like Mike and Mike in the end zone, backcourt in the end zone. And then I'll never forget this. To seal the game, CG ran in a big around and I pulled. I like, I was like lead blocking,
Leonard Fournette
like the smaller phone.
Tristan Wirfs
Yeah, damn right, I did. Yeah, damn right. They get a first down, seal the game. Dude, that's like, it's such a crazy feeling, you know, But I'll like, you know, waking up, like, on my 22nd birthday playing NFC Championship game to go to the fucking super bowl at home. Like, what the, like what, you know,
Jarvis Landry
is the super bowl the same feeling as a, as a four minute for you? Like a four minute drill in, in the game when you got the ball last and we gotta run the ball.
Tristan Wirfs
I'll tell you what, a Super bowl feels way better than 24 minute, but 4 minute feels really good. Like, no. 1, you're like, like, I think we put up like a 50 burger on, on the chargers, I think in 20, 21. 2021, obviously. No, with Baker. And I remember we were just like, we were just running, like, just running it.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
At the end you're like, this feels like, this feels good.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Super bowl feels way better.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
Four minutes. Four minutes. Fun knowing you're like, yeah, let's. Let's. Let's run duo until the wheels fall off, you know?
Leonard Fournette
So listen, last two questions. Can you tell us what was your best memory as me being a teammate? It could be whether it was in a locker room or was in the. The running. The running. The running the offensive meter, getting the run game down on the field. Couple fights broke out. You know what I'm saying? Talk to you.
Tristan Wirfs
This one's gonna be funny. This one's gonna be funny. My favorite memory is. I don't know. I can't remember what game it was. I know it was a home game. It was 2020. We had just gone on that little slump. It's right when we turned around, we lost like four. We lost four in a row or five or something like that.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
You give a speech Saturday night in the. In the team meeting room. God, we gotta lock the in and all this, you know. Good speech. Good speech. He had 17 Emmys the next day, but.
Chris Godwin
But
Tristan Wirfs
he had 17 Emmys during the game. But he went out like Kizzy's. Just like, check down, check down. You got the game ball. Yeah, we're going, we're going. We're going through. Through the. The Me Emmy list. Like on. On. Was it on Monday?
Ashley Iaconetti (Podcast Co-host)
Yeah.
Tristan Wirfs
7, 7 or. Well, you were at 20. 28. 28, 28. I was like, what?
Leonard Fournette
Damn.
Tristan Wirfs
He gave us a speech. 17. 17 Emmys.
Leonard Fournette
Damn.
Tristan Wirfs
But he went crazy. That's. That's my favorite, like, memory of you, but I think I win. Yeah, I know.
Leonard Fournette
You're like, I listen, we'll come back to the. To the. To the huddle timeline. It's not to grow. I said, listen it.
Tristan Wirfs
He said, throw me the ball. That's what.
Bucky Irving
Yeah, that.
Tristan Wirfs
That's my favorite. But I think. I think there was in a Super bowl, you had a good run. Yeah, I got up to the second level, block somebody, and you would kind of went right outside me. And I remember, like.
Jarvis Landry
I'm like.
Tristan Wirfs
I'm, like running outside and seeing you like that. That was a cool one. But that was the funniest. That memory is the funny. I'll never forget that. 17 up on the board. I was like, no way. They're like, game ball. Toss it to us.
Jarvis Landry
That was awesome.
Tristan Wirfs
Cracked me up.
Jarvis Landry
The new standard. Cracked me up, the new standard.

We got the former number seven with the new number seven.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Bucky Hemet. Irvin.
Jarvis Landry
Yes, sir.
Leonard Fournette
Off the rip. Off the rip. Oregon, lsu.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Hold up.
Leonard Fournette
Think about all the players from Oregon and all the players from lsu. Now let's. Let's react this again. Oregon or lsu.
Jarvis Landry
I mean, the man bias, the man biased. You want to ever give you a different answer?
Leonard Fournette
Let's not be real. Let's be right. I want you to be right.
Jarvis Landry
Put that on the shirt.
Leonard Fournette
I'm gonna say this. You know why I respect Oregon? Who that la. Michael James.
Jarvis Landry
Yep.
Chris Godwin
Daphne.
Leonard Fournette
Daphne. So that's your Cal. Like that's you on the slick. But they not fit to be in the box. They move scats. You know what I'm saying? Booker, you get it done. You get it done. Can you tell me, can you tell me how was your rookie year?
Bucky Irving
I pretty much say I was trying to like get like information and guidance from guys around the league. Like I reach out like the album Camara. I mean, he chopped it up with me. Like you just trying to see the basic on how the league gonna be. Cause everybody say it's gonna be different, but just being able to get them guys experience and just getting here learning on my own for real. But I had like Rashad in the room chase them guys. Them guys led me in a certain type of way. But I feel like when you get here, you got to figure it out on your own. And at the end of the day, just Play ball.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, man, you ended a drought, right? You know, running back here in Tampa.
Leonard Fournette
What should I try to do?
Jarvis Landry
Hasn't been over a thousand yards, man. And you did that first season, like, can you talk about like, what that was, what that whole experience was like, what that year was like? And playing on that team with those guys and, you know, being a rookie and putting up those numbers, that ain't easy to do.
Bucky Irving
I know, I know. I mean, I mean, I came in like, when I come in a situation, I try to be. I try to connect with the guys as much as I can. Cause, you know, like, at the end of the day, these. The guys that you go into war with each and every week. So I mean, like, it started off in the off season. I feel like as much work as you put in in the off season is going to translate to the games on Sunday. Just being able to come in at first, not getting really much touches, getting like four or five touches. But like my coach at Oregon, we always had guys in the room, so whenever you get your opportunity, you gotta take full advantage of it, no matter how many kills you get. So I always had that motto. So like, when I got in the game, if it was four or five touches, I was gonna try to get busy with it. So just being there, going there, whenever they throw me in there, I mean, they threw me out there. I had figured out, had them guys trusted me and then just let my instinct kick in and play.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, you had eight touchdowns, right? Like, which again, I was pulling up a stat probably like two months ago about rookie seasons. And I'm not gonna lie, we had a conversation in the offseason heading to your rookie year, and you was like, man, I don't know like what the situation gonna be, but I'm ready, I'm prepared. Right. And I saw your name at like number like 5 or number 6 on the all time rookie, like, list of, you know, rushing yards, bro. Like, I know that's, that's, that's a huge. Was a huge thing for you and obviously leading into this season, you know you want to be every down back, right? But you know, the landscape of running back has changed a little bit. Like in this offense now that you're healthier, how do you kind of see things playing out this year? If you can have a crystal ball
Bucky Irving
bringing in, bringing in Kenny, I think that'll help me a lot because we got pretty much similar games. And I, I do my best when I got somebody else that's gonna spin with me. And I feel like, that's what running backs at their best. I'm not a guy that want the low and 30 carries. I feel like if it take you that many carries to get off, you're not that guy. That's how I just feel him off.
Jarvis Landry
Damn.
Leonard Fournette
Not like that, though. Not like that, not like that. Y' all heard him. Fuck me.
Jarvis Landry
My cook always told me, man, you
Leonard Fournette
need at least 10 or 15 k's
Bucky Irving
to get off, but just being there to have somebody like that in the room, that we can co off each other. Your drive, my drive. But just being able to play off each other, I feel like that's when
Jarvis Landry
I'm in my one, two punch.
Bucky Irving
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
So I think for people at home, they don't know what it's like mentally when you're going through an injury, right. I know you tore your labrum and especially having a year you was going to have. And we always talk about this where the hard work sometimes doesn't get shown because of an injury or circumstances. Can you. Can you tell us, explain to us, like, mentally, what was you going through? Cause I remember when I was here at 2021 and I got hurt and it's going to my. I'm trying to get a deal. So I'm out there doing this shit, man. I'm crying. I'm like, damn. Cause like, that plays in your mind when you put the work in. And sometimes you don't see the production 100%. So what was your mind at going into that year when you tore your label?
Bucky Irving
I ain't gonna lie, bro. It put me in a different head space. Cause like, growing up and stuff like that was my first time ever being heard in football. So I want to thank God for that because I was blessed. But then going into my year after, I just had you try not to pay attention to the noise that people talking about you, but it just somehow pop up and you take that shit in the back of your mind, like, yo, I'm not about to be there. So just hearing people say, like, oh, can he come back off the scene he just had, or he gonna be a bus. So, like, when I see stuff out there about me, it kind of gives me an edge because, like, all my life I've been doubted. So you saying something else about me is just going to give me an edge to go out there and get more. But nah, bro, I just had to lean on people that really care about me. Not as just a football player, but as a person. And I had to lean on my faith, bro. And that Was the only thing that really got me through it because it kind of put me in a different airspace, not being around my teammates. These are the guys that make me happy. And, like, it was my first time, like, damn. So I see what guys going through when they.
Leonard Fournette
Not only that, right? You have just, like, people have expectations of you have high expectations of yourself, right? And this outside of football, right? What was your biggest hurdle in life you had to face and overcome? Whether it's now where you're at now, cutting people off, or making the decision that's best for you in your future, Whether it's friends, family, like, can you tell me what was some of those biggest decisions you had to make now that you know you're going into, what, year three right now, year three of your career. And what have you learned as far as saying no to people when they ask you for certain things and just trying to manage or balance your life as a football player and, you know, as being human?
Bucky Irving
I pretty much say what really motivate me every day. I mean, I lost my dad when I was two years old, so I never really got a chance to meet him. So I always keep that in the back of my head, like, what if I had a dad? How. How would my life be? Just, like, growing up, seeing people, AAU people. I mean, my guys and stuff, Parents taking them to practice. I lost my grandma going into my. I think it was my senior year when I had committed to Minnesota, coming right out of high school. And then when I was in school my freshman year, I had got a call and my little brother had been killed at 15 years old. So just being able to, like, the environment and the area that I grew up in, like, my house being shot up, it was just a whole bunch of things, but I was always around that stuff. But I always tried to go a different route because, like, I used to ask my mom, like, yo, like, how did my dad die? Like, and she said, from gun violence
Jarvis Landry
and being in the streets.
Bucky Irving
So I think it was just, like, the environment that I grew up in that I try to go a different route. And like, you say the hardest thing is, like, growing up with your close friends. And then, like, it come to a
Leonard Fournette
point where it gotta separate yourself.
Bucky Irving
Gotta separate yourself. Cause they not on the same thing that you want. And it hurt.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, it hurt bad.
Bucky Irving
But at the end of the day, like, as you start getting older, things try to go your different ways. And then, like you said, like, it ain't easy, bro. Saying no to your family members that been there for you. But at the end of the day, like, y' all gotta understand, like, I'm the one that getting up at 4:50 in the morning.
Jarvis Landry
Yep.
Bucky Irving
Going, going and going and working my ass off.
Jarvis Landry
But definitely at the end of the
Bucky Irving
day, you gotta say no. And it gotta kick in at some point.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. You mentioned environments. Like, you know, you know, we've played at lsu. You've played at a prestigious university as well, right. Like, can you talk about, like, what's the brotherhood like here in Tampa? Like, what's the locker room like? You know, from the quarterback position to the kicker, you know what I mean? Like, what makes this place special?
Bucky Irving
Like you said, the brotherhood, bro. Like, like the quarterback. That's one of my best friends. But he had me since. Since I got in here. I go over his house, I kick it, I get body work. I'm cool with his wife, I'm cool with his daughter, I'm cool with his family, his brothers and all that. But just being there to know, like at the end of the day, them the guys that you going to war with every day. So whenever it's time to like go kick it or just get outside the building, we can always pull up to our quarterbacks. The door is opening. And when you have guys like that, you're willing to go, whoa, that's great.
Jarvis Landry
That's great. What would you say heading into the season? I know there's all. We always talk about team goals, but shit, I'm trying to get off too. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. So, you know, like, what's some of your personal goals heading to? Heading into, you know, into this season?
Bucky Irving
To be honest, bro, I never really like set goals for myself. I always just try to be better than the year that I had. And coming off the injury that I had, I gotta stay healthy and pretty much spin like I spin, bro. Yeah, yeah.
Leonard Fournette
But I'm gonna be real though. Sometimes it's a good thing to set goals. Cause you know, my goals was especially being like an every down back. Whether it was to catch 80 some passes or I was never gonna reach a thousand yards. Cause it was a passing team like my dog say I 30 carries. Yeah, you asked.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
So I take my 10 or 15 and. And going about my day. But when it comes to goals, I think my goal is for you this year.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Is separate yourself.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Right. Get back to year one, you know what I'm saying? Because I know like, there's always noise out there. And the biggest thing is, you know, Can Bucky play all three downs? I think you can, right? But it's just today's age of how the offense is. You have a guy for third down. Cause that's where we was in the offense kind of transitioning over. Cause I played every down. But you had Giovanni Bernard came in, that's the third down back, right? And some days, some games when he couldn't block them big ass guys, I had to step in and do what I had to do. So, man, just continue being who you are. You got the confidence, you got the swagger, you know what I'm saying? Like, like I told you, we was at the signing together. I'm like, man, do your thing. I'm watching, like, you know what I'm saying? And I've always been a fan of the younger guys who come behind us and do their thing. Like I said, you doing your thing, bro.
Bucky Irving
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
I want to say I'm proud of you. You hear me? You keep representing that seven. That's seven different for me because, like, I'm out of seven. That's my hood. That's why I wear it. So now just keep doing your thing, man. We appreciate you for coming on the show.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
And best of luck this year, brother.
Jarvis Landry
Appreciate you, but salutely, man. Been great, man.
Baker Mayfield
Let's ask just like, hey, what's the
Jarvis Landry
hardest hit you're taking?
Leonard Fournette
Nah, n don't get hit like that. We can ask it though.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
You ever got hit hard this year
Jarvis Landry
though, Nel, what's your welcome to the NFL?
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, we're gonna say that. One, two, three. So, Buck, last question. What's your welcome to the NFL moment? Whether it could be getting hit or scoring a touchdown. Scoring a touchdown, the speed of the game, or it could be your first time going off and you posting that after that picture a hundred thousand likes or something.
Bucky Irving
Nah, I'll pretty much say the. The hardest hit I took. Well, I was like, yo, damn.
Jarvis Landry
This.
Leonard Fournette
This real.
Bucky Irving
We was in Jacksonville and I was on like a dual. What's the. What's the. I can't think of his name.
Leonard Fournette
Walker.
Bucky Irving
No, no, no, they twins. They. They. It's the linebacker.
Jarvis Landry
It's the safety. He playing. He playing.
Bucky Irving
He play with the Giants right now. It's his brother though. He the safety.
Jarvis Landry
Emin Emmon. Emin Emmon.
Bucky Irving
Yeah, he caught me.
Leonard Fournette
Safety.
Bucky Irving
Yeah, he caught me. Gave me a whole stink.
Jarvis Landry
I'm like, oh, I can't go out like this.
Leonard Fournette
So we say do it right. People don't understand as a running back on dude, we Gotta read the mic.
Bucky Irving
Yeah, for sure.
Leonard Fournette
The mic go right, we go left, he go left, we go right up. I'm bouncing on the court and sometimes
Jarvis Landry
I don't like when y' all bouncing because you gotta crouch down on that. I'm the motion guy, you know what I'm saying? I'm in the gap. No, that's at that point I'm already standing. Now it's we cover three. He already right there, you feel me? And you bounce and I, I just like we getting running away from leverage, bro.
Leonard Fournette
Hold up.
Jarvis Landry
Just like you're running away from leverage. But the whole now I gotta end
Bucky Irving
me buck the corner on the duo though.
Jarvis Landry
Listen, you better win.
Leonard Fournette
Let him have free now. Listen, this is the rule. The rule as a running back. If you bounce the ball, you have to win your one on one.
Jarvis Landry
You better win.
Leonard Fournette
We're going to win.
Jarvis Landry
All right. I want that.
Leonard Fournette
All right. That's what it is.
Jarvis Landry
I appreciate you dog. Yeah.

Jarvis Landry
Come on now, sir.
Leonard Fournette
Welcome to fourth and so how you doing my brother? I'm good, bro.
Chris Godwin
I appreciate y' all for having me, man.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, I know this bro. And when this all said and done, there's gonna be a couple Names that's gonna be floating around this stadium, this practice facility, this organization for years is Derrick Brooks, Rhonda Barber, John Liz, Tom Brady, Levonte David, Mike Evans, and I believe in my heart, Mr. Chris.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
How you feeling, my brother?
Chris Godwin
I'm doing great, one. I appreciate that, bro. I mean, you seen the work in, you know what I'm saying? When you was here and for me, when I got here, it was just like, I'm trying to, like, leave a mark here. Like, I walk in third round pick, and ain't nobody really know what I was gonna be. But I wanted to prove, like, my worth from day one. Like, I'm playing teams, I'm doing all the dirty work. I'm still doing dirty work now, you know what I mean? But, like, I've always wanted to be like the most complete receiver that I can be. I'm like, like, Jarvis, I will always, like, watch you and like, always respected how, like, physical you were. Like, like, you gonna. You not afraid to go in and chop it up. But then you're gonna rock somebody up and, and catch the touchdowns too. So, like, I looked up the receivers like that.
Jarvis Landry
They still got you doing 12 duo these days, do they?
Chris Godwin
You feel me? Yeah, do day, you know what I'm saying? But the only reason why is so that we can get the play action off of it, right? Like, if we wasn't doing nothing off of it, ain't no way I'm trying to be in there still. Still chopping it up, doing duo.
Jarvis Landry
No. 100%. Yeah. People, we were talking to Baker a little bit about it as well. And me and him, clown joke about it, you know? Cause I'm like, bro, if we was on the same team, bro, I'll be the one leading away on that 12 duo, you know what I mean? And people, not all people understand that role, like, and the will to, like, want to block. Yeah. You know, in those situations. Like, where did the toughness start for you? Was it a mindset that I'm a third round pick, I'm just going to do what it is? Or was it before that?
Chris Godwin
Honestly, it was before that. Like, when I first started playing football, like my first two years, I played linemen, like, I was like a taller kid. But like, we had like, bro, we had weight classes and like, we had like stripes on our helmet. So if you had like one stripe, you could be like a tight end. And two stripes, you. You can't touch the ball. You touch the ball to play dead. He was on the line. That was me My first two years. So, like, when I fell in love with the game, I couldn't even touch the ball at all. So I learned quick, like, if you want to be a part of this, I guess, about the team. And so, like, I'm kind of, like, had to have my fun on defense, and I'm like, yo, once I. Once I'm able to touch the ball, it's a rap. It's a rap. And so I've always understood, like, the team perspective of it. Like, I'm just like, it's. It's more than about me. Which is probably why, like, my approach is, like, how it is. Like, I'm never, like, giving the ball, giving the ball, giving the ball. I'm like, it's gonna come. Like, if I do my thing, it's gonna work. But I also know, like, on pass plays, like running backs, y', all blocking, making sure that the quarterback got time. Linemen block. Everybody doing their job. Yeah, it's up to me to do my job on Run Place.
Leonard Fournette
Listen, I'm so glad you brought up blocking, because this young man to my right, he believes I wasn't back there pancaking shit for. Well, we always blocking, but.
Bucky Irving
Right.
Leonard Fournette
You know how I came.
Chris Godwin
That's a fact.
Leonard Fournette
Can you explain on a game day, what is it like playing with playoff London?
Chris Godwin
Nah, it's different. Like, playoff lending was different, bro. And, like, I remember he was talking about it, like, before. Like, before we got into playoffs. Like, he, like, he about to turn up, and I'm like, we'll see you, huh?
Tristan Wirfs
He called it, bro.
Bucky Irving
He did.
Chris Godwin
I'm like, we'll see. And then he playoffs hit, he clicked a different switch. You feel me? And it was going crazy. But it wasn't just the run game. It's pass game, too. So I got a lot of respect for that, Leonard.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. You know, I just had a great balance. And obviously a part of that balance, right, was your guy Mike Evans.
Chris Godwin
Right.
Jarvis Landry
You know what I mean? Like, this your first time actually. This is gonna be your first year actually taking the field without him.
Chris Godwin
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
Like, is that gonna be weird or what?
Chris Godwin
Yeah, it is weird. Like, it's even weird just seeing him in a different, like, shade of red. Like, he in a different number. He had a different shade of red.
Leonard Fournette
I talked to him.
Chris Godwin
That was a L. I ain't gonna lie. That shit look weird, bro. Look like Michael Jordan on the Wizards.
Jarvis Landry
Like, it's something off.
Chris Godwin
But, yeah, it's gonna be strange. But at the same time, like, we got a bunch of Young guys here that's, like, hungry. That's, like, ready to step up and prove they worth, too. And for me, like, I feel like people think that, like, my role's gonna change, but my role's never been dictated off of what Mike has done. You feel me? Like, our roles have been, like, complimentary to each other. Like, all of my best years. It's not like Mike was hurt or any of those. Just, like, we was side by side.
Jarvis Landry
Talk this.
Chris Godwin
You know what I'm saying? So as I keep doing what I do, and obviously Mike gonna do his thing, but I'm excited to see what these young guys can bring, man.
Leonard Fournette
So from this. From. Can you talk about what you learned from Mike? You know, I know my years, my. My quick three years here with y', all, and I've seen how we have practice. You teaching them a few things. He's teaching you. Can you tell me from, like, a teacher standpoint where. What did you learn the most valuable thing from?
Chris Godwin
Mike?
Bucky Irving
I think.
Chris Godwin
I think the biggest thing I learned from Mike was, like, how aggressive he was at the catch point, but also his ability to catch the ball down the field. He was one of the best on goal balls ever. Because when he's running his routes, when the ball's in the air, he's not decelerating. Everybody looks for the ball, and they slow down. He's taking off, so it looks like he's going faster, but it's like him and the db, they both look. The DB slows down, and he's still running the same speed, and so he's, like, easily, like, making these plays. So it's a little stuff like that. It's like you got to keep running to the ball, and then at the catch point, you got to be ridiculously physical because these guys, they fighting for their lives, too.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah, man. You've had a lot of stretches over the last decade. We were just talking about it, right? Like, you know, playing, like, really, really, really good football, especially at the receiver position. You know what I mean? And I would say in. And in some cases, right. Being the benchmark, right. Of, like, what that looks like at the receiving position and how the game is played from a physical standpoint to being a monster in the red zone, third down, situational stuff. Right. And then obviously, a couple injuries, sideline injury, you know, it slows your momentum down in a way. Like, can you talk about maybe when you're playing your best, then, you know, going through those injuries.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
What you learned from it, what you took from it, and Then where you are now going into this year, right? Because, you know, once you get year over, year eight, year six, they're like, you, the old head in the room, like, you're slowing down. You know what I mean? Can you talk about all three of those different phases of, you know, maybe aspect of your career?
Chris Godwin
So, like, for me, like, I've always believed that I can be, like, at the top of the top of the top, right? Like, best in the world. Like, I've always believed that I can reach that. Like, that level. And, like, I got to that point, like, my third year, you know what? I'm like, I'm all Pro. And then, like, two years later, like, I'm having arguably, like, my best year. Like, the year after we win the Super Bowl. And then to your point, like, take a bad hit, blow out my knee. You feel me? And then people don't realize how long it takes to come back from an injury.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Like, you get, like, you work your
Chris Godwin
way back, but, like, you not back to your full strength.
Jarvis Landry
You gotta build confidence.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, well, I won't cut y' all a funny story. You got hurt that game. Yeah.
Chris Godwin
Oh, that's crazy.
Leonard Fournette
I got hurt that game.
Chris Godwin
Yeah, Mike, I heard that game, bro.
Leonard Fournette
It's crazy, bro.
ChatGPT Advertiser
We.
Leonard Fournette
We all land on the table next to each other, and we look at the game. Cause we was losing. And I looked at you remember this? I looked at it. I said, bro, us street, we some sad mother.
Chris Godwin
Just sit here watching in the trading room.
Jarvis Landry
And it's like, crazy.
Leonard Fournette
Like, now that you bring that up, it's like, damn. Like, you forget about those moments where it's like, we. I think we even grew as. As brothers because the injury. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Because I was still pissed off how that happened to you. It was a lot of shit going on. But even in the midst of what happened, bro, that's the crazy thing about football. It still brings together, even in the midst, like, the season's over. Him. And which I tell people, I promise you, if Chris, we never got here, we'll be back. Because that's what we was missing. Then when AB Pulled what he pulled off, right? He was the long, he was the deep shot.
Chris Godwin
I'm like, bro, that was our best team.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah, right there. Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
We was on the row.
Leonard Fournette
And, like, even with the injuries, bro, like, you said something that kind of, like, really spoke about your character when Bobby came on. Bobby seen you on a stretcher and you said, gotta get back to work. Where does that come from? Like. Cause you wasn't negative, you wasn't crying. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Elaborate on that for me, man.
Chris Godwin
Yeah, I don't know, man. I think it's again, it's just like, how, how I'm built and I went through the first injury, like, with the knee, so I knew it's like, it's gonna be a process, you feel me? And I knew that in that moment, like, I talk about with my wife all the time, like, it's not about, like, what happens to you, it's about how you respond. And like, that was like, that's me in the moment. I can be here. Like, what was me like? Sad as shit. Like, everyone, like, you know, like, like, we pray for all that, but at the end of the day, like, we gotta get back to work. Like, your dream's not gonna work if you do, if you don't, all that kind of stuff. It's like I gotta be able to look at myself in the mirror and say that, like, I am who I, who I say I am. And if I'm telling young guys, like, about the work they gotta put in, if, if I'm preaching all these things to other people, who am I? That when trouble comes my way, I just fold, right? So in that moment, it's like, shit, it's back to work, man.
Jarvis Landry
You guys mentioned the back to back chances that you guys had. We had Gronk on the show a few times and he said the same thing, bro. And I think also when I hear Leonard talk about it just now, what spoke to me is like a testament of the team player you are. And truthfully, that link that bridges everything together from an offensive perspective, right? As being a team guy, being a blocker, you know, being a leader. Right. Whether that's by example, because he always say, he's like, man, Chris is quiet, but he's going to do his thing. That's what, you know, lead by example. Right. That year, obviously you get hurt. Like, what was your support system like? You mentioned your wife. Like, you know, how is that going through that process, you know, getting to get back healthy to be the person that you said you, you were talking about. Yeah. You know, what was your support system?
Chris Godwin
Yeah. I mean, to your point, again, as my wife, like my parents, my siblings, I got like a close group of people that have been with me like the whole way and just like continue to motivate me, to push me, but like, at the end of the day too, like, I'm the type of person, like, even with all the support that people give you like, you still got to do the shit. Yeah. And, like, that's the. That's one thing you really learn about rehab is, like, when you out there, like, on your own. On your own, like, you gotta actually.
Leonard Fournette
Hard.
Chris Godwin
It's hard.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
And most people, like, if you guaranteed someone like, that they would make the money that we can make, right? Just to go through. But you have to go through this rehab to get to it.
Jarvis Landry
They probably wouldn't.
Chris Godwin
They wouldn't do it.
Bucky Irving
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
But it's not worth it. Like, you doing the conditioning on your own, like, it's hot as hell out there. You know what I mean? And you by yourself, and it's tough to continue to push yourself when your body's not feeling good.
T-Mobile Advertiser
You feel me?
Chris Godwin
And, like, what I was saying earlier, it's like when you're going through rehab, like, you're rehabbing your body to get back to baseline.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Chris Godwin
And so people don't understand how long it takes to get back to a high level of play. It's like, we're going against the best
Leonard Fournette
in the world, especially mentally.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
And it's like you. You trying to get back to, like, 75%, but it's like, where the greatness happens. Like, it's in, like, from the 75 to, like, 100%, like, where you're able to, like, work on your refinement of your skills, of your game. And so it was like, after a year of an injury, it's like, it probably take, like, another year to really get back to ball. You know what I'm saying? So, like, after the Knee, it's like 20, 24. Like, again, like, that would have been my best year.
Jarvis Landry
Right?
Chris Godwin
And, like, people forget, like, when I got. When I. When I broke my ankle, I was 1, 2, or 3 in all the major categories. It's like week seven of the year. I'm like, yo, I'm about to go crazy again. And then it happens, and then, bam, you restart. And it's the same thing. Like, last year was me trying to bounce back, trying to get everything back. And to your question earlier, Jarvis, like, I'm excited about this year. I had a full year to, like, train, to prep my body, getting to do training camp where I didn't. I didn't get training camp last year. Like, I didn't. I was doing everything on my own last year. And, like, it's tough to. When you miss those reps, to. To really get going, and then you get thrown into the mix and you a month behind everybody.
Jarvis Landry
Right.
Chris Godwin
You feel me? So to me, I'm just, like. I'm always just trying to keep my head down. Always trying to work because, like, it'll come. I believe that everything that happens to me is, like, for the betterment of. Of me as a person and as a player.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. Tell me about. Tell me about. You know, you've also been a guy where we look at other guys around the league, like D Hop, you know, a few other guys. Larry Fitzgerald was another guy that came to my mind that have played with multiple quarterbacks. Right. But their play has never changed. Right. You've seen what Jameis, Tom Baker, Fitz, Fitz. You know, you've been through a couple different ones. Couple different ones. Right. But your play has always been the same. What is it? I know for me, I don't feel like I'm a receiver, quarterback, guru. Like, I always feel like for some reason, me and a quarterback have always been the same page. Like, what do you think? What do you think? I can tell you where it happens for. I feel like that happens for me. But tell me, where do you think that. That you think that happened for you with, you know, with. With the string of quarterbacks that you've had?
Chris Godwin
Like, I've always, like, tried to tell the quarterbacks that I've been, like, fortunate enough to play. I'm like, I'm not here to fool you. Like, for me, I want to be able to. To have the clearest body language possible. You know what I'm saying? So, like, I want you to know that, like, if I'm like, if I'm a breakout, like, even if I'm gonna do, like, a rocker step at the top or whatever, like, I don't want you to be confused as to what I'm going to do. And so it's like that. And then whenever I come out of my break, I'm always going to be friendly, you feel me? And, like, presenting myself as a. Like, as a catchable, as an easy target for the quarterback to throw to. And then at the end of the day, too, it's like, the more catches you make, the more trust you build.
Jarvis Landry
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
You know what's crazy? What stand out to me about what you and Mike, like, even before I got here, I knew y' all was good, right? But y' all don't brag, y' all don't talk. That's probably. They don't get enough credit. But once you see them day to day and the work y' all put in and how consistency they are, like, even when the time you got hurt But I used to leave out my meetings. Off of the meetings, go check on him. Like, are you straight? Like, it's like. It's a brotherhood, you know, it gets no better than that. And even when it's getting his ass. Cause, like, I guess, you know, y' all wide receivers, y' all do weird shit. He walk around the field barefooted. That's a fact.
Jarvis Landry
That's the best way to do it.
Leonard Fournette
He was just saying about. It's called stand grinding. Grounding.
Chris Godwin
Yeah. Gotta be grinding.
Leonard Fournette
All right. To be that home that don't understand that. And I guess y' all two.
Jarvis Landry
No, we speak the same language. We speak receiver language. It's receiver talk. You don't get this pup. You're a pup. True.
Leonard Fournette
What does grounding does for Chris's mind? Mental?
Chris Godwin
Well, for me, like, initially, like, it's me just, like, getting in touch with the earth. You know what I mean? Like, the earth itself has its own energy, and it kind of balances out the energy that you have in your body. That's kind of where it started for me. And then everything starts from the ground up in your body. It's like. And I really learned that through, like, this ankle injury. Like, everything is from the ground up. And, like, our feet are confined in these cleats that are, like, super narrow, and, like, our toes get kind of bound up like this. So it's like, between, like, wearing, like, toe spacers and walking around barefoot, you got to, like, really train and build up the muscles in your feet to allow them to be able to do what we needed to do. It's like, if you got weak feet, it's going to lead up to a host of other injuries, whether it's ankles, your knees, your hip. It's going to work its way all the way up, all the way up the system.
Leonard Fournette
Young guys ground what is called, again, grounded.
Jarvis Landry
No, I'm a firm. I'm a firm, firm believer. I'm a firm believer in that, bro. Because, you know, I would say my years in Miami, when I was a younger player, I didn't adopt the ways of some of my bets. And, you know, and I don't think either, like, taking care of your body was a huge thing back then. We've seen it develop a lot more through other Sports. Like with LeBron James, you know, I remember seeing a stat he said he put, like, a 2 million in his body. And then from there, I think that that switched. This flipped the switch in everybody's brain a little bit. A lot of players, but I was Big on the grounded thing, too, bro. I was every walk through, whether it was on turf, grass, no matter what, you know, it's all connected, right? And it is, bro. It's all connected, you know, and in a way, too, like, bro, I would say, especially in Cleveland, like, it was. It contributed to a lot of, like, you know, my success and my readiness to go to practice, to be ready for a game, like, rolling your feet out, you know? But outside of that, man, like, obviously, you've been on a championship football team, right? You've won the highest honor. I'm sure you've won leadership or best receiver on the team a few times as well, right? Like. Like, what's special about this locker room? Like, what's special about these guys, you know? Or maybe is very, you know, similar to the championship teams that you've played on in this team.
Chris Godwin
I would say, like, the interesting thing about this team is, like, we don't have anybody that's, like, super egotistical. Like, everybody is all, like, for the unit. And, like, if you want to be a great team, like, you need that. Like, you need guys that's pulling the rope in the right direction. And I think that, like, honestly, I mean, I think a lot of the world is, like, sleeping on us, but, like, for sure.
Leonard Fournette
Good.
Chris Godwin
Like. Cause we not winning. No, you're not winning a championship on paper anyway. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's not like, what, 20, 22, right? We had everybody with Julio, me, you, Mike. Like, they like, yo, the Bucks are
Leonard Fournette
going to do it again.
Chris Godwin
Like, one last time for time. We came out there and was trash. Like, it's like, you not winning.
Baker Mayfield
You're right.
Chris Godwin
But it's like. But we weren't together. Like, when we were playing on the field, it wasn't clicking.
Leonard Fournette
Yeah.
Chris Godwin
And it's like, it don't matter what. Like, what you have on paper. If you got the right guys in the locker room and everyone has the same belief and you work your ass off, like, there's no telling what you like, the heights that you can reach. So I like the guys we got in this locker room. We got a bunch of versatility on offense and defense. Like, but now we just got to put the work in. Like, that's where this should come down to.
Jarvis Landry
Before we go. Before we go. Before we go. I just want to see something because I think we're very similar.
Baker Mayfield
Oh, yeah?
Ashley Iaconetti
What.
Jarvis Landry
What would be your top five receivers of all time? My top 10 if he had. If he could throw 10.
Chris Godwin
Throw 10?
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. If you could throw 10, but you could throw five.
Baker Mayfield
Yeah.
Jarvis Landry
If you could throw 10. Because, you know, five. We always go, Jerry, you know what I mean? But, like, after them, I just kind of want to see where after them.
Chris Godwin
I. I was a big fan of Andre, Johnson, Fitz. I love to.
Jarvis Landry
Who else?
Chris Godwin
I really like watching Chad play, too. Like Ocho.
Jarvis Landry
Like, Chad don't get a lot of love.
Chris Godwin
He don't get a lot of love. And I'm. I mean, Calvin. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Jarvis Landry
Yeah. That's fair. Yeah, that's fair. Just love that.
Leonard Fournette
Before we go, your best memory you had when I was there with you.
T-Mobile Advertiser
With me?
Leonard Fournette
Damn.
Chris Godwin
Best one. Best one.
Jarvis Landry
I don't know.
Chris Godwin
I know. I'm trying to think.
Jarvis Landry
I mean, the chip. I mean, the chip.
Chris Godwin
Chip was crazy.
Leonard Fournette
We had before the chip, though.
Chris Godwin
Yeah.
Leonard Fournette
Like, it could be 20, 22. After you won the chip, like, who
Jarvis Landry
won more locker room games, you or Devin White?
Chris Godwin
I mean, I ain't gonna lie. Devil was kicking.
Leonard Fournette
He was kicking people's faces.
Jarvis Landry
He was tripping.
Chris Godwin
I don't know.
Leonard Fournette
I think.
Chris Godwin
I ain't gonna lie, bro. Like, some of the stories that you used to tell was. Was hilarious. Like, about your time at Jacksonville.
Leonard Fournette
Like, yo, he's like, yo, Lydia is tripping.
Chris Godwin
Like, he's spazzing out on people, man.
Leonard Fournette
For sure.
Jarvis Landry
Thank you, Chris, bro. We appreciate you.

Podcast: The Herd with Colin Cowherd (iHeartPodcasts & The Volume)
Episode Air Date: August 11, 2026
Theme: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Training Camp – Baker Mayfield Interview, Reflections on Tom Brady, Mike Evans’ Absence, and the 2026 NFL Season
This episode goes deep inside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ training camp, with Leonard Fournette and Jarvis Landry leading candid conversations featuring quarterback Baker Mayfield, offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, running back Bucky Irving, and wide receiver Chris Godwin. The episode explores what makes the Bucs’ culture special post-Tom Brady, how the team is adjusting to a new generation and roster, and personal journeys through adversity, team chemistry, and championship aspirations. Notably, the show is saturated with genuine player-to-player insight—no gloss, just real football talk.
“You can never replace Tom Brady’s shoes. Only thing I can do is come in and be the best version of me, and that’s talking shit. Making sure that I do…I lead in the way I know how to lead…Not try and do it the way he did.” – Baker Mayfield (12:48–13:04)
“If it wasn’t and I had the mindset of, oh, I’ve arrived, I wouldn’t have a job…You gotta show up every day trying to earn that.” – Baker Mayfield (28:02)
“You can’t replace Mike. He’s one of one…worked on his craft. He was so good at it.” – Baker Mayfield (19:13)
“There’s no egos in that locker room. It doesn’t matter who you are, you just go about your business.” – Baker Mayfield (21:40)
“There’s no better feeling than going on the road and whooping somebody’s ass. You take not just the team’s soul, you take the fan soul.” – Baker Mayfield (23:24)
“We haven’t played to our potential. We’ve played good against higher competition…but we have to do that week in and week out.” – Baker Mayfield (25:40)
“I try to connect with the guys…these the guys that you go into war with each and every week.” – Bucky Irving (76:49)
“It’s not about what happens to you—it’s about how you respond.” – Chris Godwin (100:36)
The tone throughout is frank, banter-filled, and highly relatable—a conversation amongst peers who have shared the trenches. There’s teasing, humility, football wisdom, and plenty of honesty about hardships, brotherhood, and the grind. If you want to understand the psyche and soul of the 2026 Bucs—and the real, unfiltered football experience—this is a must-listen.
The episode delivers an inside look at Tampa Bay’s training camp, highlighting how championship culture is preserved and evolved after legendary players move on. It captures the heart of football brotherhood, the pain and pride of overcoming adversity, and the relentless hunger for another shot at glory. The Bucs might not be the loudest team, but as their veterans and young stars make clear, their belief and fire are as strong as ever.
