Last week was our first playoff game and my plaque psoriasis was so itchy under all my gear. Sometimes just thinking about scratching could take me out of the moment. And then my doctor told me I could get clearer skin with a pill called Otezla.
Brady Quinn
Otzla Epremilast is a prescription medicine used to treat adult patients with plaque psoriasis for whom phototherapy or systemic therapy is appropriate. Otzla can help you get clearer skin after just four months.
LeVar Arrington
Okay, ready for the next game? Talking to my doctor about a pill was a total game changer.
Brady Quinn
Don't use OTLA if you're allergic to it. Get medical help right away if you have trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or arms, severe diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, depression, suicidal thoughts or weight loss can happen. Tell your doctor if any of these occur and if you have a history of depression or suicidal thoughts. Live in the moment. Ask your doctor about Otesla. Call 1-844-4-OTLA or visit otesla.com for prescribing info.

This is the Best of the Herd with Colin Cowher on Fox Sports Radio.
LeVar Arrington
It's the herd, Fox Sports Radio. And it's two pros and a cup of joe. Filling in for Colin Levar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here, we are going to take you all the way up until 3:00 Eastern Time. That'll be noon Pacific time. And Brady Quinn, we are rocking and rolling here on a Tuesday.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, we are.
Jonas Knox
Yeah.
Brady Quinn
Feeling very patriotic today.
LeVar Arrington
Are you?
Jonas Knox
A little.
Brady Quinn
Yeah.
LeVar Arrington
Little fired up.
Brady Quinn
President's Day weekend coming off some, I don't know, something about the four nations hockey thing, man, it kind of got me going. It's not just the fights, either. Just a lot of pride. A lot of pride for this great country we live in.
LeVar Arrington
Now, I noticed you mentioned that before you mentioned any of the other festivities that took place this weekend. Were you not afraid?
Brady Quinn
What else took place this weekend?
LeVar Arrington
Well, I think there was Valentine's Day Friday, of course.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, we celebrated that.
LeVar Arrington
I went to a Monster Jam event that was fun. I got to go see. You know, my son and I, we have our. Our favorite monster truck.
Brady Quinn
Is that more of something that you got him into or did. Did he get into that?
LeVar Arrington
I got him in. In his Easter basket or his Christmas stock. Santa Claus or the Easter bunny got him a monster truck just randomly and he just was hooked ever since. And it's fun. It's a fun event. But. But I mean, there was that and there was trying to think what else there was going on this weekend. All the All Star game festivities in the NBC.
Brady Quinn
Oh, that's right. Yeah, that's right.
LeVar Arrington
There was. There was that. And yeah, I don't know, man. I mean, Kevin Durant's, you know, looking at the situation going, well, hey, listen, you know, people just like to criticize. It's more fun to crit the NBA and the All Star game on social media than it is to good. Hi there. Than it is to.
Jonas Knox
Jesus. Is that you coming home?
LeVar Arrington
Where'd you park?
Brady Quinn
Pollo Loco?
LeVar Arrington
Going out to a Ticket later.
Jonas Knox
It was a very. No, no, it was a very interesting morning though, I'll tell you. Yeah. 26 mile drive, an hour and 20 minutes.
Brady Quinn
That's pretty standard though for LA, isn't it?
Jonas Knox
I mean, that's a first for me. That's the first I've never.
LeVar Arrington
Worst I've ever seen with no accident.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, that's, that's, that was interesting. Yesterday was only 40 minutes to get in here, but I guess it's because it was, it was a holiday. Yeah, but yeah, anyways, I mean, which would be a more interesting conversation than obviously the one that we're having right now. Listen, Kevin Durant is, is a great personality. He is one of the guys and one of the players that drives the, drives the needle, keeps them relevant in some aspects, in some regards. But I mean you can't be sensitive about the criticisms that are being levied their way and how, I guess relentless and how aggressive the conversations of how bad some of these things have been. Especially, you know, surrounding the conversation of All Star Weekend. I mean, it just is what it is, you know. And again, that's just that the reality of it is, is that you don't have enough personalities like Kevin Durant's in today's NBA that are building relations. You ever think about that? Like I was, I was looking at our comments yesterday and it's like the, the whole idea of what relationships are being built between player and, and fan, who is, who is really what teams are really building these strong bonds like we used to see in the olden days of the nb. Who was, who was the, the, the, the commissioner back then passed away Stern. When Stern was the commissioner, there was such a focus on building the reputations, building the personalities of these teams and of these players and connecting them with their fans. There's a disconnect, certainly a disconnect.
Brady Quinn
I, I view this entire conversation because we kind of got railroaded there on the NBA, which Lord knows I don't want to talk about that as much because I, I think what, but what I witnessed was the game of hockey in very, very similar lights. Well, you came in late, so you missed out on the initial part of conversation.
Jonas Knox
I did. I was just listening.
Brady Quinn
So the Four Nations Hockey Exhibition. Right. Like doesn't matter for any of those players in regards to the Stanley Cup. Right. We're not to the playoffs yet in hockey, so you can call it whatever you want to call it. It was brilliant by the NHL. It had so much interest. I think the ratings were somewhere over 5 million or so ended up watching for basically an exhibition game very similar to what the NBA All Star game is. And you have at least in regards to the NBA, one of the greatest ambassadors in the history of the game in LeBron James who is for the first time ever opts out to play. Now granted he is dealing with an injury and he's played forever and he's made every All Star for to over two decades. So I guess he's got the right to do that. But what I'm pointing out is the difference in the intensity of both these games. And I think that's the connection with fans. If I'm going to take a piece of my life, if I'm going to go spend my hard earned money and go watch a NBA All Star game or a hockey game, that's an exhibition, like I want to see the intensity that you care at least as much as I do. And granted, you know, I think it's tough to compare when you've got for example four nations, people representing their country to compare it to the All Star game. Even though there's some international players, there's some guys who, their representation goes beyond just representing whatever it is in the All Star Game in the NBA, they're representing people back home, people in other other countries. But to me that's the disconnect is I'm not here to bash the NBA or NBA players because I think part of the reason why the game is where the game's at is because these are the most skilled NBA players we've ever seen. And so there's always going to be evolution in a game when it's like that. But what I saw in hockey, and maybe it's just the culture of hockey because they both play the same amount of regular season games. And I'd make the case that the Stanley cup playoffs is much more enduring because it's more of a physical sport anyway and it's a longer road anyway to a championship than the NBA is. So like what's hard to watch is this load management era of athletes and this, this thought that like yeah, it's okay to sit out and take up a roster spot and not play because I've done this so much and I'm one of the greatest of all time. And then meanwhile you've got dudes who are dropping gloves as soon as the puck drops because they're ticked off. And look, I don't care if it was planned or not, because they're ticked off about the Canadian fans were booing and we're Going to show them something. We're going to set this thing off, right? And that's how intense this game, this game's going to be. Even though it's just an exhibition for me, like, that won me over, like, I really don't have a dog in the fight one way or another. I'm just a fan. Right. You know, didn't. Didn't play at either of those levels. At a high level, I do have a family member who plays in the NHL. But, you know, I don't necessarily say, like, oh, I'd rather watch one versus the other. But for me, that moment, that was a moment where I looked at hockey and said, yeah, I think you just won over a lot of fans. And I know not everyone tuned in, but you see the viral clips and then you see the win and everything else, and it gives you chills, man. It makes you think about, you know, different movies they've made in the past. And, you know, I just, I kind of sit back and go, that's the disconnect is the NBA thinks because they're so great, they're so skilled that people are going to want to watch. You're missing the point. You're missing the intensity of the game. That's what we love, man. We love the passion. We love the intensity. Yes. When it was more physical and guys got in fights, we love that too, because we naturally love fighting. It's like if you're driving your car, you guys are both driving in right now. If two people popped out all of a sudden, started throwing, you know, fists at one another, you'd stop and watch. It's. It's a human reaction.
Jonas Knox
You just do, you know, I mean, I was feeling good about sitting in this traffic, so, you know, I'd have had some time, you know, they'd have.
Brady Quinn
You're building up a lot of that intense.
Jonas Knox
I figure I get. Get me someone's and get me a few in as well, you know what I mean? But, yeah, you're right.
Brady Quinn
This isn't exclusive to the NBA. This is the same thing with a Pro bowl watch, because there's no intensity like you played in it back when you played dude, you dudes used to get hit, especially towards the end of the game.
Jonas Knox
Yes.
Brady Quinn
Like they were still out there trying to win.
Jonas Knox
I was hunting.
Brady Quinn
That's what sport is.
Jonas Knox
I was hunting heads. Especially if there was somebody on the other side of the ball that I didn't get a chance to see during the season. I certainly wanted to. I remember when Corey Dillon was in the Pro Bowl. I wanted to. I wanted to get him so bad. He was big dude. That's why I wanted it. I wanted that. I wanted to feel what that felt like. You know, everybody was talking about Corey Dillon. Corey Dillon, you know what? He's in the Pro bowl this year. We're lined up against one another. I was trying to get him. You know that. I think that that's what you're talking about, though. It's like when. When Kobe saw Mike, MJ and All Star Game, he was trying to get him. And then what happens, MJ's seeing that Kobe's trying to get him. So I'm trying to get you. Like, I. I'm with you on that. I, I saw some of the hockey. I didn't see a whole lot of it. I saw some of it. I thought it was pretty cool. Kind of made me feel like it was like the Olympics, something to.
Brady Quinn
That's what it felt like, right?
Jonas Knox
Yeah, it did.
Brady Quinn
It felt like they were representing something bigger than themselves.
Jonas Knox
It did. It did. And I don't think again, I'll come back to the connection. Like, there is a disconnect in today's athlete, which is. It's weird because you have every bit of the. The technology to connect with the fans in a way that you never have before. And, And I think that that's why the ones who choose to do it when they do these, these podcasts and their player driven podcast, I think that's why they do so well, is because there is such a disconnect in today's athlete, and I say it's across the board. If you really were to go through like from fan. Fan bases of different eras of time, and you were to say, run it like, tell us who the players are. Tell us. Tell us the team D d d D what they represented. You be able to do it. You be able to do it. That's why you had. You had nicknames for the different teams in all the sports. You had nicknames. Broad Street Bullies, Purple People Eaters, the Steel Curtain, the Bad Boys. You had. You had different. Because the connection with the fan was so important that everybody was in it together. I don't feel like that's. It's like it's. You're just watching more of a show. You're watching more of a product now. And they are so skilled that it's like, here we go, shooting threes out there. Throw the ball. Hockey. I can't really speak on hockey. I don't really. I don't really know it like that. But I will say it just seems as though for a lot of times, for me, especially because I look at it as a fan as well outside of the playoffs, I just think they're playing, you're playing, you're like, you're almost to the point where you look at and you say they're going through the motions. They're so good. You're going through the motions. You get to the playoffs, you know that, that it's intensified because you go home if you lose, that's it. Like, otherwise, I don't know all these players names, and I am a former football player. I don't know all these guys names anymore. I don't, I don't know what they represent. I don't know what the team represents. I don't know what it, what it is. There's a disconnect. It's like you decentralize the fan base, the fans you don't have. You have your, your niche market of fans, but then you go outside of that and everybody's like, ah, I'm. I root for this guy because he's on my fantasy team. Like, I'm root for this guy because I'm. I got a parlay and that, that dictates who I want to see. Okay, Exactly. Exactly.
LeVar Arrington
Well, I'll tell you, I probably lost that one anyways. But it was also, it was also the contrast. You know, first we, and we were mentioning this a little bit yesterday, but first weekend without the NFL and you're looking for something and the na. The NHL gives you the four nations face off and they give you that, and the NBA rolls out that. And it's LeBron letting everybody know an hour and a half before the game. Yeah, I'm just not even playing. Just a bad look, man. A bad look. And you know, hockey benefited from it. You know, whether this, you know, is parlayed itself into better ratings for the league and, and more people taking interest, like you probably, you probably captured some interest from people who looked at it and said, you know, maybe I'll give this a try because this is a different product than what I'm getting from the NBA. And so again, they can get all sensitive about it all they want. It's not like people are rooting for it to suck. They just want it to be a little better. And, and that's where we are when it comes to. Comes to the NBA. By the way, Thursday night is the final, the four nations face off final between Canada and the usa. USA is dealing with some injuries too. By the way, you know, get a little nicked up.
Jonas Knox
I mean, but you're All Stars, right? All Stars.
LeVar Arrington
I mean, you're representing your representing the.
Jonas Knox
U.S. yeah, the U.S. so it's the best of the best of the U.S.
Brady Quinn
For the U.S. right. But like, yeah, there's obviously they're really good players on Canada. I mean, Canada, I think was slated to.
Jonas Knox
They're the best, aren't they? They're the best.
Brady Quinn
We will USA beat him three one in in the most recent.
LeVar Arrington
We're going to find out Thursday whether they're the best.
Jonas Knox
I mean, historically speaking, the, you know, the Canadians play hockey differently than everybody else.
LeVar Arrington
What do you mean by that?
Jonas Knox
Man, I don't know. Isn't there another place, too? Like, doesn't Russia play it pretty well, too?
LeVar Arrington
Yeah, they got other things going on right now.
Jonas Knox
Racist dang.
Brady Quinn
Something going on there.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, they're using different sticks over there. Too soon.
LeVar Arrington
It's part of the reason why Russia's.
Jonas Knox
Not involved was too soon.
LeVar Arrington
How's that race Lee?
Brady Quinn
Lee would not include some of the content in the rundown.
Jonas Knox
That doesn't. I mean, but that doesn't change the fact that they're good at hockey, though, right? I mean, we would. You can admit that maybe.
LeVar Arrington
Yeah.
Jonas Knox
Okay.
LeVar Arrington
Got some good players.
Jonas Knox
All right. They're good shooters.
LeVar Arrington
They're not on gas. But again, that's, you know, teach their own. It is the Herd here on fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in for Colin. It's extremely pink.

LeVar Arrington
Hello there. It's the Herd on Fox Sports Radio. Levar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for Collins here on this Tuesday morning. How you guys feeling, man? How you feeling? An hour or two of this. You sound refreshed.
Jonas Knox
I feel really good.
Brady Quinn
You sound good too, Jon.
Jonas Knox
We were just talking about it. You know, we're kind of on the same time frame as you right now. Yeah, that east coast time. You know, that's interesting.
Brady Quinn
Like, I'm in a fog, buddy, where we're. We're like, everyone just. There's just someone's got something. Everyone's getting sick, people are sneezing, coughing on each other. It's just feel like you're in a battle every day, you know, we're just trying to get through. Yeah.
Jonas Knox
I mean, did you get.
LeVar Arrington
Did the weekend get a little better or.
Jonas Knox
I know it was.
Brady Quinn
Not. I've got like a cold now, so I'm trying to work through that, which I'm pretty much trying to do. Every homeopathic remedy possible.
Jonas Knox
What are you using? Like, like.
Brady Quinn
You guys ever take those ginger shots? Yeah, like tumeric orange.
Jonas Knox
They're orange.
Brady Quinn
Yes.
Jonas Knox
Yeah. Really Good, too.
Brady Quinn
I, like, I don't know if you're supposed to take as many of. I've taken each day, but I'm taking, like four or five a day.
Jonas Knox
That' you can't take too many as natural.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, that's what. That's what I was thinking. I'm like, I can't take too many. Those would be fine. A bunch of vitamins. I mean, probably more vitamin C than anyone's taken their life, like. Yeah. Just trying to. Yeah. Just trying to get healthy.
Jonas Knox
That's all. Good. Yeah.
LeVar Arrington
I mean, that's one way to do it for sure.
Jonas Knox
What's the other way? Jonas.
Brady Quinn
Well, Jonas said he takes a lot.
LeVar Arrington
Of vitamin D. Yeah, I do.
Brady Quinn
Which I don't. I mean, you're still.
Jonas Knox
Well, I mean, what is vitamin D?
LeVar Arrington
I'm all about comfort, and so, you know, I go with what makes me feel comfortable and that. I mean, could also get on the Echo bike. You can get on the Echo bike and just kind of sweat that bad boy out earlier, you know, it's.
Jonas Knox
You know, I go into the steam room when I. When I don't feel good, man, I just try to sweat everything out of.
Brady Quinn
The steam room, too. That still ain't working either.
Jonas Knox
It's not working.
Brady Quinn
You can.
Jonas Knox
How long do you stay in there, though?
LeVar Arrington
How long?
Brady Quinn
20 minutes.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, you got to go to, like, 40. I stay in that bad boy for.
LeVar Arrington
Like, what are you, a 30?
Brady Quinn
Dehydrate yourself. Talking about 40 minutes.
Jonas Knox
You dehydrate, that s right on out.
LeVar Arrington
You'll come out looking like an influence.
Brady Quinn
What you're saying.
Jonas Knox
No, no. You don't kill yourself at that. At that amount of time. That's, like, the time to do it. Like, get to 35, 40 minutes, I'm telling you. And I wear a sweatsuit on top of that with socks on my hands and my feet.
LeVar Arrington
At 120. It's a first for everything, you know.
Jonas Knox
What you mean, man? Is that she pink?
LeVar Arrington
Yeah.
Jonas Knox
Interesting. All right, Troll that. Nothing is like. Like a different shot. I mean, it was. It was a Valentine's Day this past. Yes, it was. Let's get on track.
LeVar Arrington
Let's go. Definitely was.
Jonas Knox
Let's do some school. All right.
LeVar Arrington
So we are going to transition here smoothly.
Jonas Knox
I'm glad you feel better, Q. Yeah, I think.
LeVar Arrington
Keep fighting the good fight.
Brady Quinn
Appreciate it, guys.
Jonas Knox
Okay.
Brady Quinn
Appreciate your support.
LeVar Arrington
You're my friend.
Brady Quinn
I'm trying to go in for 40 minutes. If he has not talked to me tomorrow, it's probably why.
LeVar Arrington
What happened to Brady?
Jonas Knox
If you can't take.
Brady Quinn
Just have a note that says, thanks Var. That's also going to say on it.
Jonas Knox
No, don't do that. That's what I do.
Brady Quinn
I feel like Brooks was here.
Jonas Knox
I take a big ice water in there, too. Just make sure you have some water and you're hydrating while you're in there.
Brady Quinn
How the hell do you take an ice water? It's going to melt.
Jonas Knox
No, you take your Stanley in there. You take a Stanley in there and.
Brady Quinn
Don'T those things explode?
Jonas Knox
No, no, you're good. I'm.
Brady Quinn
Stanley's were exploding.
Jonas Knox
Mine's never mines. Mine has never exploded.
LeVar Arrington
Like, he would walk into that sauna, literally, like in the steam room, like the face of big noon kickoff, and he would come out like cocoon, like you're trying to kill the guy. 40 minutes is way too long.
Jonas Knox
It's not. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. I'm looking up right now. I'm telling you. Somebody told me, a guru told me that before.
LeVar Arrington
I mean, you know, I'm a PhD guy myself, but I don't know about the rest of you guys.
Jonas Knox
Are you?
LeVar Arrington
Yeah, man.
Jonas Knox
All right.
LeVar Arrington
60 new ones. All right, so we move over to this, where there was a rumor that was floated out there that the Pittsburgh Steelers had reached out to the Jacksonville Jaguars about the potential of trading for Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville, of course, was contacted about that. They pushed back on the report. Well, Trevor Lawrence himself was smearing it up with K. Adams on up and Adams yesterday and was asked specifically about the Pittsburgh Steelers interest and had this to say.
Jonas Knox
I didn't really see anything. My agent texted me and was, hey, this is a. I didn't. And then of course, I saw it after he texted me, said, hey, this is a report that's out there. I don't think there's anything to it, but I'll check into it. So I saw it. And it's funny, though. Like, when he sent it to me, I was like, you know, I wouldn't say your heart drops, but you're kind of like, what?
Brady Quinn
Like you think?
Jonas Knox
And then I'm like thinking about, like.
Pete Prisco
I can't even get.
Jonas Knox
I have no trade calls in my. In my contracts. Like, I would know about it if I was getting. If I was getting traded or if that was something that was going to happen. You know, I'd have to be on board with it. So. Which I'm not. I'm. I'm happy here in Jacksonville. I plan on, you know, we want to win a Super bowl here and you know, I think. I think we can do that.
LeVar Arrington
Take that bar.
Jonas Knox
All right.
LeVar Arrington
Take that.
Jonas Knox
Good.
LeVar Arrington
Now, you were trying to get him released, cut.
Jonas Knox
All I'm saying, from the league. There's no reason for. I mean, and a player can speak for themselves, right? The player can speak for themselves. But you didn't hear that from. From Sha Khan or. Or any of the executives at. Well, yeah, you did, because they did come out and say that they absolutely weren't going to trade them. But no, no one is off limits. No one. And this Jacksonville Jaguars team is a struggling team for. For a little while now, even on his watch. And again, he has not established that he is a bonafide franchise quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll stand on that. So if you're not. If you. If you're going into. What is this? Year four? Is this year four? Yeah, yeah.
Brady Quinn
Year four. Year four.
Jonas Knox
You're going into year four. And you. You had one moment in time that was a shining moment where you were like, here we go. This is the Trevor Lawrence error. It's about to pop off. Here we go. And then nothing after that. That was like. Almost like, oh, wait, that was the curtain call. That. That was it. That was. That was the height of the height. I don't know if that's what it is.
LeVar Arrington
But you're five, actually.
Jonas Knox
Year five. Okay. All right. This is what I do know, because he did do the big deal. What, last year. Right. Or the year before. Anyway, the bottom line is he has not definitively shown that you're going in the right direction. He is the future of this franchise. He is the present of this franchise. He hasn't really solidify that. So if you could get some. If you could get some real value and. And not having Trevor Lawrence on your roster, it's not off limits. I don't think it's off limits at all. I mean, he's done more than Pickett, but look at where Pickett ended up. And he was a draft pick. They thought that he was going to be a guy. I mean, not as highly lauded as. As Trevor Lawrence coming out, but he's not even in the place where he started. And if you don't think that they. If they could find a quarterback that could do a better job for them, if this coach, especially when you get new coaches involved, you run the risk of not being that coach's guy. And he's got to take a look at what it is he has to do and what that represents to him and his team. And do I want to take look at what happened to Aaron Rodgers. They don't want him. They didn't want him. You got to take a look at it, you got to value it, you got to assess it. And I don't think that Trevor Lawrence is off off. Like I don't think he's non touchable. I don't think he's an untouchable.
LeVar Arrington
Yeah, but they just paid him.
Jonas Knox
I don't care.
Brady Quinn
I don't think he's going anywhere.
Jonas Knox
No, I mean he's not. It doesn't seem like he is.
Brady Quinn
This is more of if I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, this is a team saying like we're trying to leave no stone unturned. We're calling all these teams up who've got guys who are franchise quarterbacks and that for many of the reasons that Lavar just stated, maybe there's, they have some questions about whether or not he is the guy, even though they paid him. So let's give them a call, which that's what you should do. Like if you've got a spot, you've got a problem at any position, let alone the quarterback spot. You should be calling every team possible. So I have no problem with this. I mean it's again, this stuff happens this time of year. The no trade clause is what's kind of comical about this for Trevor Lawrence because people run with these sorts of narratives and it's, it's why, you know, it came from someone in Pittsburgh because someone in Jacksonville goes, well first off Jacksonville's not trading him and then second, he's got a no trade clause so he'd have to approve whatever trade even if they tried to trade him what was going on. So like this theoretically doesn't work, but for clicks, sure, yeah, well, let's just throw it out there on the home screen or you know, the website and let's see how many people can drive traffic there to listen to us talk about this conversation.
LeVar Arrington
The Steelers a quarterback got, they got some problems. If Russell Wilson is gone, you're looking at Justin Fields, maybe Aaron Rodgers, who has said that he wants to play, but it just feels like there's no, there's no fix this off season that in my mind is going to close the gap between them, Baltimore and Cincinnati.
Jonas Knox
Aaron Rodgers, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Trevor Lawrence. What's your best case scenario? Who, who is your best case scenario to get if that's your choices?
LeVar Arrington
Trevor Lawrence. But it's not happening.
Brady Quinn
Q. I mean who are we picking from?
Jonas Knox
I mean the ones that I would say Are. Are on their list, Right. We would say that they reached out about Trevor Lawrence. So Trevor Lawrence. Russ isn't gone yet, right? They haven't made.
Brady Quinn
Yeah. I always feel like continuity is better than anything else. Like, you. Like, you build from there, and I truly believe this. Anyone who watched the Steelers, I'm with.
Jonas Knox
You, I'm going with people coming with.
Brady Quinn
Us, but, like, they need more help on the outside. Like, they need more help on that roster if they can't get Pickens to act like a number one. Like, he can be. Like, he's too inconsistent at times. And when I'm watching, I'm like, man, there he is. Like, there's that guy, there's that number one. And then other times, it doesn't feel like he's interested in playing at all. It's. It's bizarre. But they need more firepower in a division that's got firepower pretty much everywhere in Baltimore, everywhere in Cincinnati, or at least I assume it's going to be everywhere in Cincinnati. You know, you can even make the case with the talent that's on Cleveland. They still got a lot of talent, too. So this is a roster that, when you compare it to the rest of the division, offensively speaking, it doesn't have as much firepower as everyone else. And so they need more there to go with whether it's Justin Fields, Russell Wilson. Like, I'm a bigger believer in one of those two guys seeing this thing forward as opposed to bringing someone else new in again to try to learn Arthur Smith's offense.
Jonas Knox
I think you gotta go with Russell Wilson. I think he's your best option. And I know people will say, well, you have more of a Runway with Justin Fields. I just felt like we saw what we're going to see from Justin Fields. I'm sorry, I. I feel like the verdict is in on Justin Fields, and. And I'm just being honest. And yes, if you give him more weapons, you give him more options and opportunities. Maybe I'm proven wrong. He's a different player, but I just felt like we hit a ceiling with. With what you're able to do within that offensive scheme with Justin Fields. Move him around, get a couple. He's looking to. He's looking to. To run the ball. He wants to run the ball. You're not going to win just trying to run the ball. It's just not. It's not going to happen. You got to be able to deliver the ball. And he had a couple good games, but I just never saw him take the top off. And it's like, there it is. There's the game. You're looking there. That's what they need. And that was, to me, what gave way for Russell Wilson to get the opportunity to continue to play or to re enter the fold of playing in Pittsburgh. And he did well enough. He fell off the cliff, too. I mean, I don't feel like he finished out strong. They didn't finish out strong. But I think a lot of that had to do with what Q's talking about on the outsides, the lack of weapons. And you also had a defense that I'll continue to say is not as dominant a defense as it has been in the past. And that has always been a staple of these. These teams in Pittsburgh is their defenses are going to carry a load, a very heavy load, and you don't have that. So I don't think Trevor Lawrence is the answer. I think you put Trevor Lawrence. It's just safe for the sake of saying it did happen. I think you put Trevor Lawrence in an even bigger, Even bigger situation of catching a an L than what he even has in Jacksonville because I think it's bad for him in Jacksonville. I. I don't see it improving in Jacksonville. That's just my take on it. You take him out of there, you put them in a market like Pittsburgh where they're expecting more. I think you put them in an even worse situation because I don't know that Trevor Lawrence is the type of quarterback that you bring in and he changes the fortunes of your organization. I don't see that. I don't. I haven't seen that out of him. Well, go with Russ.
LeVar Arrington
We'll see.
Jonas Knox
Well, they're going to go with Justin Field.
LeVar Arrington
I mean, if you're. If you're primani brothers, you better hope they do change your menu.
Jonas Knox
I mean, you get to change your sandwiches, man. Like, you know, people love Permanis. They've been a staple. They deliver.
LeVar Arrington

You can get them on X@prisco CBS. Pete, how we feeling here on a Tuesday?
Pete Prisco
Are you guys. Is this, like a little bit of a promo, a promotion for you guys? Have you stepped up to the. The big league?
Jonas Knox
Is that what this is, Pete?
Pete Prisco
No, no, no, man. I'm kidding you.
Jonas Knox
It's like Little League. It's like Little League. We're a pinch hitter, you know?
Pete Prisco
Yeah, well, you struck out three times already.
LeVar Arrington
Oh, no.
Jonas Knox
Wow. Wow. You didn't say that when we was in New Orleans. Damn. I'll toss your little ass off that stage.
Pete Prisco
Before I even got on the stage with you, you were mocking me about my tan.
Jonas Knox
Your tan? Because it is a phenomenal tan. I mean, you got to be honest. That is a very distinctive tan, Pete. I mean, let's just be clear here. You got broad shoulders. You got a good tan. I was giving you all the props in the world. Now you come on here shooting at me.
Pete Prisco
You know, I don't know. I don't know if you were giving me props, pops, that you were taking shots straight, Pops. It's all good props.
Jonas Knox
You're my guy, pete. Since. Since D.C. come on, man. We got history. Dang.
Pete Prisco
You know.
LeVar Arrington
Hey, all right. Hey, Pete, what did. Why did you piss off Eagles fans the way that you did?
Brady Quinn
Yeah, what'd you do now?
Jonas Knox
Why you do it?
Brady Quinn
Like, what'd you do now?
LeVar Arrington
All these other quarterbacks you would take over Jalen Hurts, and now the fan base is going after you on social media. Do you happen to see any of that, Pete?
Pete Prisco
Oh, yeah, I see it. And I was on a Philly radio station today, and another couple of them reached out, and everybody wants to take a shot at me. And. And the question was posed to me, which quarterback would I take over? J. A bunch of different quarterbacks. Would you take him for the next five years over Jalen Hurts? And a bunch of them. I said yes. And so now, of course, the Philly fans are going nuts, and, you know, fresh off the super bowl, they can yell and scream all they want, but the reality is, about the last month of the season, they weren't sitting there raving about their quarterback either. I don't care what they say. He's a good player. But would I take him over certain quarterbacks in the league? The answer to that question is no.
Jonas Knox
Like who? Give some Herbert. Give some example. Okay. Okay.
Pete Prisco
Would you take him over Justin Herbert? I wouldn't.
Jonas Knox
I'm not going to answer. What. What do you guys think?
Pete Prisco
Why won't you answer?
Jonas Knox
Because I'm just. Because it's your questions that you answered. So I was just letting you have it.
Brady Quinn
I think Herbert's an interesting one. Herbert's an interesting one because I think if you're. I think the real question is, would Howie Roseman take Justin Herbert over Jalen Hurts? And I would imagine he would say yes.
LeVar Arrington
Dang.
Pete Prisco
Well, there's a. The other one was Trevor Lawrence. I said, look, right now, I'd say they're there. I take. I have a hard time picking between the two of them because Hertz has played better, but Lawrence has much more upside in my mind, you know, and so that was a tough one for me.
LeVar Arrington
I got.
Pete Prisco
They got mad about that Dak Prescott now, Dak Prescott led the league and touchdown passes last year.
Brady Quinn
Stop. You take Hurts over him right now. Are you serious? You take Dak over Hertz?
Pete Prisco
I don't know if I would. I don't know if I would.
Jonas Knox
I 100% would.
Brady Quinn
All right.
Pete Prisco
By the way, in that little playoff run he just had, he averaged throwing about 200 yards passing. And you know the sack numbers that. He holds the ball way too long. His sack numbers. He has 38 sacks on the season and he threw like 200, which is. Ties his career high from two years ago. He threw 200, almost 200 fewer passes. He holds the ball too long. He's good. I see the way I look at it, guys. You can take one through five, and there's now a five because Jaden Daniels is now in that five. The one through five, those guys are clearly above everybody else. And then the next group of seven or eight, nine guys, they're all kind of lumped in together if you ask me.
Brady Quinn
I'm gonna help us get off this topic and go to another quarterback, one that seems to be disgruntled with his situation with his franchise. And he's a guy that you've been very high on, Pete, you know, you didn't necessarily predict him never win a Super bowl yet, but you said he's gonna win multiple. That's. That's Joe Burrow. Did the Bengals get Jamar Chase, T. Higgins and Trey Hendrickson all done this off season? And if they. You don't think they do. How's the long term outlook for Burrow in Cincinnati? Do you think he's going to eventually get frustrated? He may end up somewhere else, like Carson Palmer.
Pete Prisco
Well, you look. I think first off, I'll start with the first part of it. I think it's going to be tough to get all three of them done with long term. Extensions. I just.
Brady Quinn
Okay, real quick, real quick. Why do you say that? When we look at Philly and Burroughs even said this, they figure out how to make it work. So why can't sits now make it work?
Pete Prisco
The question becomes, do you. Do you want to make it work? And the reason I'm saying, of course those are good players, but what does that do to the rest of your roster? Are they any damn good at all in defense and you know, Henry.
Brady Quinn
No, but we're talking about the super bowl champs literally just did this with multiple players. They have six players who are making 20 million or more a year on their salary.
Pete Prisco
Yeah. And then they supplement it by going to get a guy like Zach Vaughn and paying him a one year deal and he becomes a big part of their defense. And now he goes. Now they got to either pay him or he leaves. I get it. You can do it. Brady. That's not. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is if you. Why not? You could tag Higgins and maybe get a market for him out there and trade him and get some assets. And. And then if you want to keep Hendrickson and you want to pay Chase. Okay, would I try and keep all of them? Absolutely. But if you, if the money gets too crazy and you can't, then I think you have to prioritize where you want to go with it. And, you know, if you take Hendrickson off that defense, what are they. Are they any good? They're. They're horrible.
Jonas Knox
Yeah, they weren't good with them.
Pete Prisco
Well, then now they're going to be even worse. And that puts even more pressure on Joe Burrow in that offense. So, yeah, I think ideally they tag Higgins, get a deal done with Chase, extend Hendrickson, because, you know, Hendrickson isn't a kid anymore either. Extend him and then. And then come back to Higgins and see if you can get something done. And if you can't, then you pedal, get some. Something back for him.
Brady Quinn
But what about the second part of the question, though? Do you think it would get to a point?
Pete Prisco
Not going anywhere. He's one of the top. He's one of the top four quarter. He's one of the guys. He's an IT guy. You don't get rid. You don't let that go out the door.
Jonas Knox
So.
Pete Prisco
No, I don't think so.
Brady Quinn
You wouldn't have said that about Palmer during his time with the Bengals?
Pete Prisco
Well, he also suffered a major knee injury at one point. Remember.
Brady Quinn
Burrows had significant injuries. Like, let's not go there.
Pete Prisco
That's true. He hasn't since he's been there.
Brady Quinn
He had a very unique like wrist injury, elbow, wrist like that again. It seemed like it took a little while to work itself out this year.
Pete Prisco
Yeah, but he worked it out self out.
LeVar Arrington
All right.
Pete Prisco
He threw, he had it on the MVP type.
Jonas Knox
Pete.
Brady Quinn
Don't get distracted by it. You act like this franchise has ever built ever around any quarterback, Pete.
Pete Prisco
Well, I mean they, they built around Boomer back in the day.
Brady Quinn
If you. Would he say that? If you asked him would he say that? Because I've heard him talk otherwise on that and that's why he was. Palmer's gone. That's why he said maybe Burrow one day would be.
Pete Prisco
But I think the old reputation of the Bengals is a little misguided now. It used to be, don't get me wrong, I'm not going to sit here and defend what they used to.
Brady Quinn
So this isn't just because you're really close with a couple of people in the front office that you're like, is it?
Jonas Knox
Sounds like there's a little bias in your voice.
Brady Quinn
He's pretty close to a couple people. I know. I won't say names. I won't say names, Pete. But you and I both know you're, you're, you're friendly. You're friendly with a few guys.
Jonas Knox
Sounds like you're friendly. Pete.
Pete Prisco
I'm not. I'm not friendly. I know some of them and, but the reality is I don't think they're as cheap as everybody portrays in the big.
Jonas Knox
Well, what are you Tell us what they are, Pete.
Pete Prisco
The question becomes, do you want to keep T. Higgins in lieu of going get help at other positions? That's basically what it comes down to.
Jonas Knox
Hmm.
Pete Prisco
Would you?
Jonas Knox
Yes, I would. I would keep T. Higgins.
Pete Prisco
I keep them too. But, but if he gets irrational, then, then I'm not keeping him and I'll trade him somewhere, get something back for him.
Jonas Knox
But that's the tag, right? Doesn't the tag remove the irrational approach to what it is you have going on? It's like you're getting.
Pete Prisco
You can negotiate a deal with them.
Jonas Knox
That's what I'm saying. You get a non exclusive tag that says we. You're giving them him the opportunity to see what his value is on the open market. So if you, you come back and we got to have a conversation about your, your contract, then you understand that the market has spoken and that we're most likely your best option, right? Isn't that how it would play out? Or you Just stay on that non exclusive.
Pete Prisco
Or you just tag them and then train if you want to. I mean, you could do that too. I think letting him leave via free agency would be the worst thing they could do.
LeVar Arrington
Pete Prisco joining us here on the Herd on Fox Sports Radio. Pete, who's the worst run organization in the NFL?
Jonas Knox
Dang.
Pete Prisco
Oh, good question.
Jonas Knox
Jacksonville.
Pete Prisco
What? No.
LeVar Arrington
Why would you say that?
Brady Quinn
Pete, Answer the question.
Pete Prisco
Don't get me wrong.
Brady Quinn
Answer the question, Pete.
Pete Prisco
When Trent Balky was in there running things, they were the worst runners. So I would answer that, that question by 100%.
Jonas Knox
Carolina. I mean, that's a. Jacksonville Carolina.
Pete Prisco
Jacksonville. When Trent Balki was running the Jacksonville Jaguars, they were the worst run organization in the, in the league. I would agree. I would 100% agree with that.
LeVar Arrington
All right.
Pete Prisco
You know, the owner gives that proposition a lot of power. And that power he brought in, you know, Urban Meyer. I mean, come on. He brought in Urban Meyer. Look what happened with that. That was a disaster. And so, and so people blame you for that whole situation. The worst run. Yeah, for that time being, it was the worst run organization. So yes, to answer that question, yes.
LeVar Arrington
What about right now?
Jonas Knox
Yeah, right now. Who's got it now?
Pete Prisco
Well, let's see who they hire as a general manager then I'll get back.
LeVar Arrington
Yeah, but they're down to five, right? They're down to five. They got there.
Pete Prisco
They are down to five. But you know what? Look, Tony Vasily, who I know well, and Brady knows him as well.
Brady Quinn
Here we go again. Here we go. He knows his pizza.
Pete Prisco
They hired him in an executive VP and he's going to fix the organization. He's, they're going to hire the right.
Jonas Knox
He's going to fix it.
Pete Prisco
And then ultimately, and it all depends on who Liam, how Liam Cohen is as head coach. And I think from what I hear, he's going to be pretty good.
Jonas Knox
But you never know. Okay. Okay, Pete.
Pete Prisco
It's just football, by the way. It's not that complicated. It really isn't. It's, it's. Look, I, you know, Tony Buffelli, I worked with him on radio for all those years and, and had to teach him part of the game. I worked with him down here and now he's back running the Jets. I had to teach him part of the game. Brady Quinn, all over the tv, everywhere. I work with him down here. I had to teach him part of the game. So it's not that complicated. It's just. Damn football.
Brady Quinn
Pete, I love you.
Jonas Knox
Way to do it. Way to do it. Way to go.
Brady Quinn
Everyone left you, Pete. Now you're the one here.
Jonas Knox
Everybody.
LeVar Arrington
Well done, Pete.
Jonas Knox
You know what?
Pete Prisco
Don't bring somebody else in to work with me and I'll teach him a thing. Or to you every Sunday too.
Brady Quinn
There he is. Go get some good chicken cutlets or something.
LeVar Arrington

Introduction
"The Herd with Colin Cowherd," a thought-provoking and opinionated sports podcast hosted by iHeartPodcasts and The Volume, presents its special episode titled "Best of The Herd" released on February 18, 2025. In this compilation, hosts LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, and Jonas Knox step in for Colin Cowherd to deliver a dynamic discussion covering a range of top sports stories, personal anecdotes, and critical analyses of current sports events and personalities.
1. Celebrating President's Day and Valentine's Day
The episode kicks off with the hosts reflecting on recent holiday celebrations. LeVar Arrington shares his experience attending a Monster Jam event with his son, highlighting the joy of supporting their favorite monster truck.
LeVar Arrington [04:24]: "I got him in his Easter basket or his Christmas stock… he just was hooked ever since."
Brady Quinn mentions the All-Star game festivities broadcasted on NBC, emphasizing the heightened emotions and national pride surrounding President's Day weekend.
Brady Quinn [04:01]: “President's Day weekend coming off some… something about the four nations hockey thing. It’s a lot of pride for this great country we live in.”
2. Critique of the NBA All-Star Game vs. NHL Four Nations
A significant portion of the discussion centers around the perceived lack of intensity in the NBA All-Star Game compared to the NHL’s Four Nations Hockey Exhibition. The hosts argue that the NBA event feels more like a showcase of skills rather than a passionate competition, leading to fan dissatisfaction. In contrast, the NHL’s exhibition, despite being non-playoff, exhibits a level of intensity and national representation that resonates more deeply with fans.
Brady Quinn [07:28]: “The disconnect is the NBA thinks because they're so great, they're so skilled that people are going to want to watch. You're missing the point… we love the passion. We love the intensity.”
LeVar Arrington [16:43]: “Hockey benefited from it. They can get all sensitive about it… people just want it to be a little better.”
3. Disconnect Between Modern Athletes and Fans
The hosts delve into the modern disconnect between athletes and their fan base. They lament that despite advances in technology facilitating interaction, many athletes lack the personal engagement that fostered strong fan relationships in past decades. This disconnect is attributed to athletes prioritizing individual accolades over team spirit and fan connection.
Jonas Knox [07:16]: “You ever think about that? Like… if you really were to go through… you would be able to do it. That's why you had nicknames for different teams… the reunions were so important that everyone was in it together.”
Brady Quinn [15:35]: “You’re just watching more of a show. You’re watching more of a product now.”
4. Personal Health Updates and Camaraderie
Amidst the heavy discussions, the hosts share personal anecdotes regarding their health and wellness. Brady Quinn reveals he’s battling a cold, leading to humorous exchanges about natural remedies like ginger shots and the effectiveness of steam rooms.
Brady Quinn [23:31]: “I'm in a fog, buddy… everyone's getting sick… trying to get through.”
Jonas Knox [24:02]: “I go into the steam room when I don't feel good… try to sweat everything out.”
5. NFL Trade Speculations: Steelers Eyeing Trevor Lawrence
A major highlight of the episode is the speculation surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rumored interest in trading for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The discussion explores the potential impact of such a trade on both franchises, evaluating Lawrence’s performance and contract status.
Jonas Knox [27:11]: “It's not even playing. Just a bad look, man.”
Pete Prisco [27:59]: “I don't think there's anything to it, but I'll check into it.”
6. In-Depth Analysis with NFL Columnist Pete Prisco
The episode features an insightful conversation with Pete Prisco, a senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports. Prisco provides his perspective on the Steelers’ potential trade for Lawrence, comparing him to other quarterbacks like Justin Herbert and Russell Wilson. The discussion touches on Lawrence’s upside, the Jaguars’ management decisions, and the broader implications for the Steelers’ roster and future.
Pete Prisco [43:31]: “I take… I have a hard time picking between the two of them because Hurts has played better, but Lawrence has much more upside in my mind.”
Brady Quinn [45:01]: “Don't get distracted by it…”
Prisco also critiques the Jacksonville Jaguars' management, particularly targeting past decisions like hiring Urban Meyer, labeling it a "disaster."
Pete Prisco [51:07]: “They brought in Urban Meyer. Look what happened with that. That was a disaster.”
7. Strategic Decisions and Team Management
Further delving into team management, the hosts and Prisco discuss the strategic decisions teams must make regarding player contracts and roster compositions. They debate the efficacy of the Steelers’ approach to quarterback selection and the necessity of bolstering offensive and defensive firepower to remain competitive.
Brady Quinn [32:06]: “With the exception of a couple have been in the bottom half of the league and cash spending…”
Jonas Knox [32:30]: “They’re going to go with Justin Fields.”
8. Final Thoughts and Teasers for Future Discussions
As the episode nears its conclusion, the hosts engage in light-hearted banter, teasing upcoming topics and encouraging listeners to engage with their extended network of shows and segments. They emphasize the importance of continuous dialogue on sports management and player performance.
