What up guys? It's Friday. I'm in Nashville. Big fights tomorrow. But Dana White went on full scent and started letting out all kinds of information. So let's talk about it on today's episode. Brought to you by Total Wireless, the official wireless provider of UFC. They're in your corner with unlimited 5G data that will not slow you down. Hey, Dana White went on full sin yesterday and I don't know if he was supposed to tell us all that. He told us we don't get into all of it. One he said, Ilia Islam could happen. The moment Islam becomes welterweight champion. He feels there's a super fight to be had. We all kind of agree, but maybe Dana knows something that we don't know. We're going to talk about that. Jon Jones said he's back in the testing pool and it was for one reason only that the UFC said that President Trump said that he wanted to do a fight at the White House, which is our third topic that Dana White touched on, saying something in his quote, unfold sin that makes me believe that this is not A thought. This is actually a reality. So first, Islam Makhachev and Ilya Taporia are circling each other's houses right now, right? If you're at war, right, these two dudes are on the beach waiting to go forward. And it's interesting, Dana White was on full screen and said, hey, if Islam becomes welterweight champ, you immediately have a super fight. Ali Abdelaziz, Islam's manager, was on Henry and Kamaru's podcast. What's it called again? These guys. The podcast is called God, I cannot remember the name. I was on it last week. Pound for Pound. Yeah, it's called Pound. I cannot believe I was drawing a bank like that. Ali Abdelaziz is on Pound for Pound and he says that had Bilal lost, Islam was going to fight against Iliad Topuria. So essentially, all the things we thought leading into the Bilal Muhammad Jack Della Maddalena fight was exactly what it was going to be. Had he lost Jack Della Maddalena, I mean, we would have gotten Islam versus Ilia Topuria. So in that sense, when you hear that from his manager, you feel like it's not as far off as you may think whenever you see those guys kind of not being able to come to terms on that fight. Obviously we know that there are some big fights in the ufc. I don't know that there's a bigger fight that the UFC can make that's going to be bigger than Toporia and Makhachev if they are to fight guys. Ilya Toporia is a massive favorite over everyone in the UFC except Islam Makhachev. And that in itself tells you what people think of Islam because of how highly regarded Ilia Topuria is right now, especially after becoming the UFC lightweight champion in the fashion that he did against Charles Oliveira. But Dana said it right away, if Islam becomes welterweight champ, you have a super fight. But what becomes of the promise Ilya had to make to the UFC to not move up to welterweight if he became the lightweight champion? There are a lot of things moving right now in the ufc, and a lot of it is centered around those two guys, right? You have one guy who defended the belt four times, has five UFC lightweight title wins, most in history, going up to 170 to try to become a two division champion in Islam. Makachev, you have another guy in Ilya Temporia who beat the two greatest featherweights of all time, moves up to 155 beats one of the best lightweights we have seen of this era in Charles Oliveira in one round. And everybody wonders what's happening with him. Paddy Pimner walks into the cage. Armand Tsarukian still there. Now you hear the boss saying, you have a super fight. And what we know about the UFC is when there is a super fight, it's hard to turn away from it because not only does it bring the bucks, it brings the eyes. And that's a fight that I think would bring a lot of eyes to the UFC and the product. And I believe it would be a very good fight between two of the best mixed martial arts on the planet right now. Italy is one of the greatest on the planet. Islam has proven to be the pomfop number one fighter in the world, and that's been the case for a while now. I love hearing stuff like that. I love whenever we get those types of updates from the boss, because I love when he's in a situation where he's super comfortable and he just kind of starts to talk. Because when he just starts to talk, you get stuff like this where he was talking about that. He was talking about the White House, he's talking about Jon Jones. I mean, he just was giving a lot because he was in a bit of a comfortable environment for him. But first and most importantly to me was the fact that we may not be as far from Toporia Makachev as we may have believed. Initially, when you hear his manager saying it was the next fight, had one other thing happened, and the fact that you hear Dana White going super fights right on the verge. If Islam becomes the welterweight champ, on to Jon Jones. So Jon Jones retired a couple weeks ago, and so many ran to call. I said it. I said, he quit because he didn't fight Tom Aspinall. And so many people said he ducked. I was in this weird situation where I don't want to say he ducked from someone, but I was saying he quit fighting. I still don't believe her for. I don't believe that he's afraid of anybody. I just don't think that's how any fighter thinks, especially one that has had the success that he's had. But Dana goes and says yesterday that he's back in the testing pool. And then Jones himself enters the testing pool. The day after the White House card gets officially announced by the President. When the President goes, we want to do an event at the White House. Same day Jon Jones gets in the testing pool. You guys know if you watch Good Guy, Bad Guy the other day, I said, listen, if there is a guy, because if it happens, it's on 4th of July. We need An American to win. Right now, guys, we don't have an American in the top 10 pound for pound, we don't have an American in the top 10 pound pound. We don't have an American champion outside of Kayla Harrison, now that Jon Jones retired. So who do we send out there on July 4th to get a victory? I say send Jon Jones. He's gonna win. That's what he's done his whole career. If it's gonna be somebody that we have to trust to win for the country, you send that dude. And that's me saying that as a guy that has never seen eye to eye with that dude. Never seen eye to eye. But I'm saying if we got to send an American mail to go get a victory, you better send Jon Jones. And then you start going down the list, right? The Max Holloways and the Dustin Poiriers, who's retiring next weekend. So many other great champions. But if we absolutely need a dub, you got to send the man that's proven to be the baddest dude out there, and that is Jones. You know, John said when he announced that he was coming back, he said, I called the UFC headquarters the same afternoon on the 4th of July. I'll leave it at that, America. Now, that tickles my pickle. He said essentially he needed something to motivate him, and fighting at the White House is something that motivates him, and he would do that. But does he go out there and fight Tom Aspinall still? Right? Because you got to imagine by that point, Tom will have fought a couple more times and possibly have defended his championship. He may still be the world champ walking into the White House, and Jon Jones is going to have to go and, hey, get our independence. He said he'd fight anyone. So, I mean, that means he'd fight Tom Aspinall right back in the same. Honestly, Jon doesn't have a choice but to fight Tom. If he comes back, if Tom's still the champion, that. That is just what it is. And honestly, as fans of fighting, you guys should be excited, because anytime he fights, it's better, and the sport is better when Jon Jones is around. Last thing, guys. Dana White said, the last thing Dana said was Kyle was asking him what would be his dream card. And he said, Jones versus Aspinall, Conor McGregor versus Michael Chandler. He thought, that will be the perfect one. And the guy started talking about this, this, this Kyle, me. And Dana goes, the UFC landscape will have changed by then. We got a whole year. Hey, initially we thought this was just a Thought. It's not a thought. It ain't a thought. When Dana starts saying stuff like definitive, like, the landscape will change by next year. We have a whole year. This isn't a thought. The White House is happening. This fight card is not. Well, maybe we'll go to the White House. No, it's happening. They're going to the White House. I've heard these conversations publicly, and every time that idea starts to turn into something real, the wheels are in motion. This is how the sphere started. This is exactly how the sphere started, where it was a thought. We're going to go to the sphere. We want to try to go to the sphere. Then it was like, we're a year from the sphere. There's time. We can figure it out. Then all of a sudden, we're at the sphere. That is how it happens. So in my opinion, I'm planning to go to the White House next year. Guys, ODC is going to the White House to watch a UFC fight. It's happening. I know things seem impossible at times, but with this group of people, I mean, Donald Trump, the president, saying it, and then Dana White saying what he said, we got a year. There's a lot of time to plan for it in a year. And if there's a person that makes things happen, like, this is Dana White. A lot came out of that interview last night. Get excited, because we aren't as far away from Islam versus Ilia. And Jon Jones is back, so he wants to fight at the White House, and we're going to the White House. Unbelievable. Next week, if you. Next week is UFC 318. I cannot wait to get back to New Orleans. I can't wait to see my people. But tomorrow, we start in Tennessee. Nashville is beautiful. Thank you guys for always supporting me. I love this. You guys are the best. Hey, how you don't like me and Dean on three rounds? Old Dean comes to fight every week, huh? He's good. We're back next Wednesday. Don't miss it, guys. Until next time. Like, subscribe and tell your friends. I got a YouTube channel. Peace. This podcast is sponsored by Total Wireless, the official wireless partner of ufc.
