Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
welcome in, everybody, to Fantasy Pros. This is the fantasy football podcast. It is me, Joey P. Joe P. Zepia. With me today, three of my absolute favorite human beings on the planet. Pat Fitzmorris, my Patty Cakes, D Bro, Derek Brown, the king of Bros, and Scott Bogman. The one, the only is here. And don't forget, check out Scott Bogman. Check out Pat Fitzmaurice on our new Dynasty channel that just launched. So go over there. Subscribe to that. Subscribe to this channel. Subscribe. Subscribe to all the channels that Fantasy Pros is giving you because we know you love Dynasty, so we're giving you more of it on its own channel just for you. That's right, just for you. Gentlemen, we are here again to give our second shot at a mock draft. It's 2.0 time. If you missed the first one, you can go back and watch it on demand here. Steve Mensch from the Todd McShay show was our guest. And now we move one Mensch out for another because we bring in a real mensch here. DBRO is here. Also has a beard, also bald. So kind of just, you know, kind of similar profile. One for one, same game, kind of one for ones. All right, so if you've been watching, you know already how we've been doing this first pick, it seems like it's just a Lock here for Fernando Mendoza to the Raiders. I've already gotten Pat Steak and Bog mistake. We'll get a quick take from those guys as well on Mendoza, see if anything's changed there. But we're not going to start really picking until pick number two, and Pat's going to have that pick. But Debro, I want to get your take on Mendoza and the Raiders too. I mean, Vegas tells us it's a foregone conclusion. It seems like that's the way. What's your take on Mendoza? I know you've been in the film room, and in case you haven't missed it too, or in case you haven't seen it, go to our Twitch. We're doing some fantastic stuff. Debo and I are doing film room study sessions there where we're breaking down the prospects. We did one today, so we'll be doing more of those. Keep an eye out on our Twitch, Twitch TV fantasy pros. DBro, give me your take on Mendoza here to the Raiders.
Derek Brown
Fantastic prospect. One of the cleanest quarterback evals had in some really, the last few years, man. Yeah, I think he's high floor and depending on what they put around him, high ceiling. I think, Joey, you'll. You'll appreciate the comp that I have for Mendoza that I haven't shared anywhere publicly yet. Eli Manning.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Oh, you mean soon to be hall of Famer Eli Manning, that guy? Yes. That has been a running gag between Derek and myself over the shows for years now, because I say he's all Famer and Derrick Brown disagrees. But you know what? I kind of see that. I kind of see that. And also, you know, he, you know, also kind of nice guy, you know, fills that kind of profile as well, you know, like Fernando Mendoza makes Tim Tebow look like Ice Cube, I feel like. But yeah, it's. It's certainly. Anything has changed for you, Pat. It's still Fernando at the top as well. Do you see him being like an Eli Manning prototype as Debro's throwing that comp out?
Pat Fitzmorris
It's an interesting comp off to think more about that, but I really like him as a prospect too. I just think as far as processing mechanics, ball placement and accuracy are just where he really shines for me. Plus, he's got a little bit of mobility and he's just a football nerd, which I love.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
And you know what? The football nerd thing is important. But also he's got that will to win Boggs, which I think you like. And I think for an organization like the Raiders, that has lost so much for so long. I think it's time to get some of that more winning attitude in that vibe, even if it is syrupy sweet with Mendoza.
Scott Bogman
He's not the best quarterback prospect we've ever seen, but he definitely has one of the best attitudes that we've ever seen. He's ready to lead. He's, he's, he can make all the throws. He's, you know, has the, the prototype body of a quarterback. Like he is a very, very upper level quarterback prospect and should change the face of this franchise immediately. I mean, you saw what getting Geno Smith out of Seattle did for them. Getting him out of Vegas should be pretty, pretty good move for the Raiders as well.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, so let's kick things off here officially now with pick number two, Pat Fitzmorris, you're on the clock for the New York Jets.
Pat Fitzmorris
It is very tempting to give the Jets Arvell Reese, who might be the best player in the draft. But Reese is part off ball linebacker, part edge rusher. Number two overall is really early for an off ball linebacker. And Arvell Reese might not be truly exceptional if he's asked to be a full time edge. Like I could be wrong about that. Micah Parsons had the same sort of profile coming out of Penn State. Now Parsons is an elite pass rusher. I want to give the Jets a stud who plays a premium position, so I'm going to give them Ruben Bane the edge from Miami. Joe, I love NFL draft season, but one thing I'm not looking forward to with this particular NFL draft season is knowing that I'm going to hear probably four or five hours of conversation about Ruben Bane's arm length. Bain is an absolute him and Will, he is a T. Rex. Yeah, he is an absolute wrecking ball though. Incredible power, incredible first step, quickness, can bend the edge killer against the run. But yes, Bane does have short arms, but so did Dwight Freeney, so did Terrell Suggs, so did Jason Taylor. Like, if Ruben Bane had long arms, he would be the second coming of Bruce Smith and he would be an easy pick here. But even with the T. Rex arms, Ruben Bane is an incredible football player and he is going to launch a defensive renaissance for the Jets. Ruben Bane is the pick at number two.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
It's funny, you were setting me up there when you're like, you know, the best player in the draft is Arville Reese, but it's the jets so they're not going to do the smart thing. Like I thought you were totally setting me up there. For that, I really did nice work.
Pat Fitzmorris
I mean, if it is, if it is Arvel Reese in the actual draft, like, I'm, I'm not booing that pick by any means.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I honestly think Zane is the way they're going to go too. I'll be honest with you. So we'll see how that goes. Arizona up at number three. That puts Scott Bogman up on the clock.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, look, I'll take the risk for the Cardinals and take ARVL Risk. Arvl Reese and number three. And they do need linebacker more than edge. So he fits and he can transition because they run a 3, 4 typically. So he can play inside linebacker, he can play outside linebacker. He can be a pass rusher on those third and longs as well. And he might be a guy that makes that Micah Parsons like, transition to the edge. He could be better suited there. Obviously edge rushers are worth way more, but they need both sides, so it doesn't really matter where he ends up for the Cardinals Visa best player on the board. This team has to be taking bpa. I think that's what they do here. And they go Arvell Reese.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, next up, the Tennessee Titans at 4. And Debro, the selection you made for them is a guy we just spent about 15 minutes breaking down in the film room. We love the way he weaves it and out. We love the way he gets the corners to turn and commit and then leaves them far, far behind. So let's talk about the wide receiver from Ohio State University that you put on the Titans.
Derek Brown
Carnell Tate, baby. My wide receiver. One of the process. Let's give Cam Ward a true wide receiver. One give him weapon in that building. And, and this, this pick is, I mean, kind of like the guys made this pick easy for me with Reese and Bane going off the board. Salah was licking his chops at possibly getting like an impact pass rusher, but they're both off the board. So let's just turn to the, the direction to the offense. Give Ward a weapon.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
D bro, could you see the Titans trading up with the Jets A couple spots to get one of those two guys or even Arizona could be possible.
Derek Brown
I mean, I, I, the only thing that I think. I don't know if either one of those franchises moves off of it is only because of needing the impact player.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
1.
Derek Brown
Something good that could happen for Tennessee here though if they are salivating over one of these edges. If Arizona does decide to take a tackle at three instead of an edge.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah, I just think the jets need More so. I mean, more picks would be better for them and I don't have a bunch already, but they still need more. That's what they especially because free agency is going to be rough for them. They have to overpay for guys, and those aren't the kind of guys you want to bring in your building, the ones that don't want to be there. And they're just there for the bag. New York giants up at 5. We got all the New York teams in the top five this year. Pat, where are the Giants go here with Harbaugh, now the new head coach,
Pat Fitzmorris
let's make it three Ohio State Buckeyes in a row. Giants select safety Caleb Downs. The Giants have a lot of past rushing talent, but they need some help on the back end and at linebacker. Caleb Downs can be the same sort of Swiss army knife safety for John Harbaugh's Giants that Kyle Hamilton has been for John Harbaugh's Ravens. Downs can be a box safety. He can be a deep safety, can cover tight ends, he can cover slot receivers. He's a demon in run support. Caleb Downs can be the Giants defensive leader, a glue guy who can do so many things for a defense. I know safety isn't considered a premium position, but when you have this type of a safety, a guy who comes from the Kyle Hamilton mold, there is immense value to that sort of guy.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Pat, this never happened, too. I was trying to Google it to see, like, has it ever happened where you get three straight picks from the same school? I know we've gotten like, you know, eight and first round from Alabama and things like that before, but I don't think three in a row ever from one school that we. That'd be wild.
Pat Fitzmorris
Good question. Yeah, we would have to see it.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I would have to look that up. But somebody asked Claude, how's he doing today? All right, well, at the comments when
Derek Brown
YouTube handle it, all right, they'll tell us.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Cleveland number six here, Scott Bogg. Been lots of places you can go for this, but it feels like the trenches might be the best spot.
Scott Bogman
It has to be. I mean, every single offensive lineman is a free agent for them this year and they graded dead last in pass blocking. I think they were 29th and run blocking. It was miserable. It doesn't matter who was quarterbacking the Cleveland Brown scene. They weren't going to have more than a Mississippi and a half to get that ball out anyway. So we're going to go with Francis Malnoa, the offensive tackle out of Miami. I know he's you know, a little bit of T. Rex as well as. And a lot of people are projecting him to move inside to guard like Will Campbell is likely to do. Whatever. That's fine. It doesn't matter. You need five offensive linemen, so it doesn't matter if he's going to play tackle. If you're taking him to play guard wherever he is. He's one of the best offensive linemen in this class. And Cleveland is absolutely desperate for a lineman. So it's just a very easy fit.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah, you have to do that. You have to go offensive line. I agree. All right, Washington up at 7. Look, they've got some money to spend in free agency. We just did a lot of fun free agency shows. Jake Seeley and I did them. Tom Strachan was on one of them, too, Andrew Erickson. So check those out, too, because obviously Washington's one of those teams that depending on what they do in free agency, is going to inform what they do in the draft. So with that expectation, Debro Washington at 7. Where do they go?
Derek Brown
I think they go edge. I think this is an easy pick for them. Give them David Bailey edge out of Texas Tech. I mean, look, you're talking about a defense that last year, seventh lowest pressure rate. Bailey led the freaking Nation in sacks. 15th. And pass rush win rate. I mean, you add on top of this, icing on the cake is Von Miller and Diedrich Wise are both pending free agents.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
This is.
Derek Brown
This just makes too much sense.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right. Too much sense to be made there for the David Bailey pick. Let's go to DBros. New Orleans Saints up next, Pat, and you've got the pick here. So again, lots of ways you can go. Do they go fun or do they go trenches? Where do you want to go for New Orleans?
Pat Fitzmorris
They go fun. And I can't wait to see what DBRO says about this pick because I'm giving the Saints Jeremiah Love a top guy at a non premium position. And maybe to Debro, that might seem like putting the cart before the horse. But Love is the best running back in this draft by a mile. And he is close to the same caliber of prospect that Ashton Genty was last year. So love, I mean his game. Instant acceleration, easy speed, burst through holes. He's a blur in the open field. He has good contact balance and a bag full of moves. Also, really good pass catcher. Saints could go with a wide receiver here, but I think the wide receiver position is fairly deep with this class. So the running back position is not deep at all. Alvin Camara is close to the end of the line. Kendra Miller can't stay healthy. Devin Neal is a day three pick who may or may not pan out. Love gives the Saints an explosive playmaker to help out Tyler Schuck.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I like Mike Washington. Fitzy, not going to lie. Doing a lot of Mike Washington homework.
Pat Fitzmorris
I do two on day two. Yeah, I don't think he's in Love's class, man.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I don't know, man.
Scott Bogman
He is.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
No, I, I don't know. I, I, I, I, I, I, I agree. Nobody's probably in Love's class, but like, I like Mike Washington. He's like flying up my board of the running back. He's starting to go over a couple guys for me. He's not, he's not at Love, but I'm just saying, like, that's a guy that I'm like, he lands in the right spot. I think it's gonna be a good fantasy guy. But you're right. Love is that dude. How do you feel about Love as the New Orleans Saints guy Here, D, bro. You like that?
Derek Brown
If this happens, I'm buying a Jeremiah Love.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Oh, look at Debro buying back in on the same. He was, he was on Please, Mickey
Derek Brown
Loomis, don't screw it up. I know you're probably going to, but please don't.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
He was on strike from the Saints last year after the shuck thing, I
Pat Fitzmorris
was worried G bro wouldn't like this pick. I like that he's on board.
Derek Brown
I dude, I'm down with this because they need to add a weapon around whether it's wide receiver or running back. They need to add a weapon for Tyler Schucker as well as. Dude, Kellen Moore could do some fun stuff with 21 personnel with these two running backs with him and Camaro.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, so Love off the board there. Obviously a big running back prospect. A lot of people think maybe you go to the Chiefs. He went right before. So not so good for the Chiefs there in that scenario. But that's okay. We've got a lot of draft left to go before we get to the rest of the draft, though. Remember, drop your comments below here, let me know what you think of some of the picks here, and you might win yourself a fantasy football championship belt. All right, so let's get to the next pick. Here we tease the Kansas City Chiefs. They just missed out on Love. Pat says best prospect here at the running back position. Bogman, where do you want to go and pivot here for Kansas City?
Scott Bogman
Yeah, I mean I hated that pick because Jeremiah Love is such an easy pick for the Chiefs here. But bpa, it makes sense for him to go a little bit higher than expected just like Jameer Gibbs did when he was a prospect. But this team needs edge rush real bad. I'm going to give him Keldrick Falk the edge out of Auburn. He's kind of a big tweener in between, you know, playing inside and outside. They can line him up all over the formation. This team already had good run defense. He would contribute towards that as well. But they were 24th in sacks. He only had 35. He is at least a push and that will eat up a couple of offensive linemen. So even if he's not the guy getting to the quarterback by this addition, he would be impacting other guys playing around him and getting to the quarterback by eating up some space. So I really like Keldrick Falk. I think he would be a nice addition to the Chiefs here on the edge.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, that puts the Bengals and Derrick Brown with the number 10 pick up on the clock.
Derek Brown
Manslaughter delaying baby, come on down. They have corner need and they need help there man. Like give DJ Turner a running mate for 2026. And moving forward the thing that this could allow the Bengals do is to play more man coverage. Now they were 10th the man coverage rate last year but with Delane third best man coverage grade at the last year in college football, fantastic pick to really start a revitalization or should I say a vitalization defense.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah, they haven't had any help in the secondary for many years now. A Good pick. Need for sure. Yeah, Bachmann does at least.
Derek Brown
All right, well, some of us, some
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
of us love to go to 11 here. The Miami Dolphins, they have a new head coach as well. Everyone's got a new head coach this year. All the cool kids got new coaches. All right, Pat, where do the Dolphins go to rebuild this team?
Pat Fitzmorris
Yeah, Debro made this a little easier by taking Delaine right in front of me. And the Dolphins could still go cornerback. There's at least one more first round caliber guy still on the board. But with one of the two best offensive tackles in this year's draft still available, Miami is going to take Spencer Fano, the tackle from Utah. Right tackle Austin Jackson has missed 20 games for the Dolphins over the last two years. That is Spencer Fano's position. Now Patrick Paul and Spencer Fano are going to be the tackles. Jackson can kick inside to guard, where the Dolphins could also use some help. Fano is a three year starter in college. Exceptional athlete for an offensive lineman. He allowed zero sacks for Utah last year.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, number 12 is the Dallas Cowboys. Scott Bogman, where do you go from there?
Scott Bogman
Easiest pick in the draft for me, Sonny Styles and linebacker out of Ohio State. Like this team just needs someone in the middle to tackle their 25th and tackle grade. Kenneth Murray might have had one of the worst linebacker seasons I've ever seen in my life this year, I mean, there was an account I remember on Instagram just to say, here are the five worst plays of the the week for the Dallas Cowboys. And all five of them would be Kenneth Murray. Every single time he was miserable. Graded 86 out of 88. Logan Wilson was their best linebacker last year and he was 66. Graded out of 88. They need someone. Sonny Styles is a team leader. As a team captain, he sets up the defense. He tackles well. Just an easy, easy fit for the Cowboys to get someone that can tackle on the defensive side of the ball.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Thank goodness too. We went six whole picks without somebody from Ohio State going so good as we got back on track. All right, number 13 here next is the LA Rams. They got this pick from the Falcons, Derrick Brown.
Derek Brown
Man, there's two positions that are easy to fill with this pick. It's either corner or tackle. I'm foreshadowing a little bit here, but I'm going to go ahead because I think like how we kind of already set this up. There's a short top shelf of corners in this class and one of them is already off the board. And I think, you know, when the Rams Are back on the clock. I don't think the. The other this guy's gonna last, honestly. So I'm gonna take Jermaine Jermad McCoy corner out of Tennessee. McCreary and Kello Witherspoon are unrestricted free agents this upcoming season. So McCoy just fills a knee, man. Plus, he's good.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah. This is gonna be tough for the Falcons. Have to watch this pick happen. They might have to, like, leave the room.
Derek Brown
Absolutely.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
For a little while. Brutal. All right, Sorry, Falcons fans. All right, let's get to number 14. Baltimore Ravens are up next. Pat, it's been a while since the Ravens have been up this high, so how do they take advantage of it?
Pat Fitzmorris
They are going to select Peter woods, defensive lineman from Clemson. Baltimore could definitely use some help up front. It's still not clear whether Namdi Metabuike will be able to return from his neck injury without him. For most of last year, the Ravens defense just was not the same. It seemed like Peter woods was going to be a top 10 or maybe even a top five draft pick after his dominant season in 2024. But his last year, Clemson was kind of a mixed bag. It was just a rough year for Clemson all around. I think Peter woods has the versatility to be either a five technique or a three technique for the Ravens. And in third downs, they could kick him inside. He is a freak athlete with speed, power, quickness, and when Peter woods is dialed in, he is an absolute load for offensive linemen to handle.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, so we are off to the next pick here. Number 15. That's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And Scott Bachman.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, I'm going to give him Cassius. How the edge rusher out of Texas A and M. I just want to see this speedy rusher paired with these interior guys. I think, you know, with Logan Allen, with Vita Vea pushing, I think Cassius Howe be great. And they're going to lose their team captain, Lante David most likely retiring. Maybe he plays one more year. I mean, he is kind of the ageless wonder. He's the Lestat of linebackers here. He just stays and stays and stays. Hassan Redick is a ufa, but Howell brings intensity, motor and leadership from Texas A and M. Look, I'm giving props to an Aggie here, so if I'm doing that, you know, this guy is pretty good. And I think just anyone that brings that type of motor and that type of intensity has to kick up your defense a little bit more. So I think he'd be a great addition for the bucks.

I did not have the Anne Rice novel character on my bingo card for the NFL draft show. Very nice, very nice. Solid. All right, let's get to number 16. The jets with another pick, their second of the first round. This one they acquired from Indianapolis. Derek Brown. You get the pleasure of making this selection.
Derek Brown
Continue adding to the defensive line. Man, I'm gonna get him. Defensive tackle Caleb Banks out of Florida. This is the upside and trades pick. And I mean teaming him with going with Ruben Bane in their first pick of the first round. I mean, just again, this defense needs help. Let's give it to him.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, Next up for 17. Detroit Lions are up. Pat, you're on the clock.
Pat Fitzmorris
The Lions are going to take Kaden Proctor, the massive offensive tackle from Alabama. Detroit has had one of the best offensive lines in the league in recent years, but their offensive line started to show cracks last season. Taylor Decker might not be around much longer. Kaden Proctor is just huge. Six seven, 366 pounds. There just are not many people on the planet with the combination of size and athleticism that Proctor has.32 inch vertical jump for a dude who weighs 366 pounds. Alabama gave Kaden Proctor five rushing attempts this past season. Like he is a special dude. He started for Alabama as a true freshman. Proctor has a world of potential and a Panay Sewell Kaden Proctor combination at tackle could really be something for the Lions.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)

So go subscribe to that bad boy today. We want you to be a part of that channel. Bogman's on there a lot, too. All right, let's get to the next election here. So after we go to Detroit, we'll go to Minnesota for pick number 18. Scott Bogman. You're up.
Pat Fitzmorris
Yeah.
Scott Bogman
This was the opposite of the Cowboys pick. For me, this is the hardest pick because I feel like there's a couple spots I'd like to go with Minnesota, but the coverage is still tough there. So I gave the Mavion Terrell, the cornerback out of Clemson. Some think that Terrell's too skinny to go in the first round. He's about 180 pounds, but the guy is not afraid. And he cut down on the penalties last season as well, which is kind of something that happens to the smaller guys. He tend to get flagged, but I think he was down to two from seven the year before. And you know, this dude tackling may be an issue for him. Of course he has a smaller guy, but he plays the ball really well and even punches it out. He has that peanut punch. Five fours fumbles this season, three in 20, 24 as well. And he has a slightly above 50% completion rate allowed. And having him play on the outside would be able to free up Byron Murphy to play in the slot, which probably is the way his career is going at this point. So Avion Terrell, the cornerback out of Clemson, going to the Vikings.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Carolina Panthers at 19. Derrick Brown, the pick is yours, man.
Derek Brown
There's a lot of ways I could go with all the edges kind of flying off the board. I don't feel like I want to chase the position. I'm just going to go BPA here. Give Bryce Young another weapon. And honestly, the Panthers, this is. You flubbed the pick with Xavier Leggette. Let's give him Jordan Tyson here and make up for that wide receiver out of asu.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
That's quite a duo. I feel like we're wasting all these wide receivers on Bryce Young though. D Ro I mean, can we get a quarterback?
Derek Brown
Get it done. There will be a new quarterback for Carolina next year.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
If you can't get it done with McMillan and Tyson, then you can't get it done. I feel like fair. All right, so let's go to Dallas. So real quick though. So if Tyson goes there, what kind of. What does that do? You know, it's first round receiver, obviously, but what does that do for his dynasty value in Carolina, you think?
Derek Brown
I mean, you're betting on talent for him and I think it's a good mishmash of skill sets between him. Tet and keep Jayla Coker in the slot. Yeah, that's why I didn't go with some of the other wide receivers here because you're getting duplicity based off of taking somebody that could be slot confined like a Makai Lemon and stuff. So I felt like Tyson also meshes well with the skill sets. But for me, with wide receivers and landing spots, the NFL in that landscape and the quarterback position can change so quickly. You just go ahead and bet on talent for these guys.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I love Coker, by the way, as a buy low in Dynasty this year. All right, let's get to number 20. Dallas Cowboys back again. Part of the Micah Parsons trade. So they got another pick here. So Pat, what do they do with the second one?
Pat Fitzmorris
I love the Sunny Styles pick that Bogman made for the Cowboys at number 12. So let's keep fortifying the Dallas defense by giving the Cowboys Clemson Edge. T.J. parker. Parker was an absolute monster for Clemson as a sophomore in 2024. Like he. He was a lot like Peter woods and that he had this great season in 2024, then fell off a little. Is Parker's junior year not as good? Clemson was just a mess in 2025, but Parker has a world of potential. Long arms, he's powerful. He has a knack for stripping the ball. Like if you would have told me after the 2024 season that TJ Parker was going to be available at number 20 in the 2026 draft. I would have looked at you as if you had a third eye in the middle of your forehead. But in this mock, Parker is there and he is the pick for Dallas.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, so Dallas gets another selection here and somehow the stars have aligned for Scott Bogman at 21 to pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So Boggs, what do you want to give your hometown team?
Scott Bogman
It's not Ty Simpson, which I know is like the favorite mock. It's Makai Lemon. For me, the wide receiver out of USC and D. Rose. Right. He's probably a slot only guy in the NFL. But Steelers don't care. They need everything on offense. So wide receiver has been the obvious biggest need for a long time. They tried to trade for iuk. They were in on Brian Thomas, they were in on any wide receiver whose name came up. Couldn't make it happen. And they went and got MVS and Adam Thielen and everyone who got cut had a chance through Pittsburgh, it seemed, last year. Let's stop it with the nonsense and get an actual playmaker that's greased lightning and just slippery as crazy. Makai Lemon snaps off those routes so well. He gets massive separation. It doesn't really matter who the quarterback is going to be. You're going to have to have targets in Pittsburgh. So adding someone that can make plays underneath would also help DK Metcalf. It would help the tight ends and the run game. It's just this is obviously the biggest need for the Steelers and it would be great if Makai Lemon was still on the board for them.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
At 21, Boggs is DK the only guy on the roster right now at wide receiver.
Scott Bogman
Calvin Austin, I think is still on
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
the roster, is still.
Derek Brown
So Roman Wilson, too.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Oh, yeah, Wilson.
Derek Brown
Even though Arthur Smith never wanted to play him, he still exists.
Scott Bogman
Yeah. I mean, look, it's probably better for him that Arthur Smith is out and Tomlin is out. So he can just either reestablish or get cut and go somewhere else.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah, that is fair. All right, next up here, after Makai Lemon goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, we have The Chargers at 22 and Derrick Brown is up with the pick.
Derek Brown
Gotta go trenches here, man. Olive Vega, Ione guard out of Penn State. Zion Johnson and Trevor Penning are both unrestricted free agents. They have to improve the interior of this offensive line. They're going to do it here. Zero sacks, one QB hit over the last two seasons for this player.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Okay, next up, the Philadelphia Eagles at 23. Pat, they go offense or they go defense.
Pat Fitzmorris
They're going to go offense. They're going to take Kenyon Sadiq, the tight end from Oregon. Dallas Goddard, 31 years old, about to become an unrestricted free agents. Sadiq can be the Eagles tight end of the future. He is big enough and a good enough blocker to play in line but he's also just an athletic freak. He is a 4111 half inch vertical jump. He's probably going to run a 45 at the combine. Like, Sadiq has a world of potential and he is the Eagles new tight end.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I like this pick, especially if they do move on from A.J. brown. Just kind of reconfigure the offense a little bit. Just change it up. New coordinator, some. Some fresh blood, some, you know, little fresh scheme in there too. I think that could be very good for them. All right, next up here after the Eagles, you have Cleveland at 24, the pick they inherited from the Jacksonville Jaguars. So, Boggs, where do you go with Cleveland? Second selection in the first round.
Scott Bogman
I mean, this could easily be more offensive line, right?
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Like, they. They need easily.
Scott Bogman
They need a lot easily there. But I went with Casey Concepcion, the wide receiver from Texas A and M. I think he's the most obvious fit here for the Browns. They need a home run hitter. They need speed. They have Judy for routes. They have Fannin in the seam. You have Tillman for contested catches. But they have no juice on this offense at the wide receiver position. We saw a little bit of it from Isaiah Bond last season, but, you know, Shador Sanders was great throwing the ball downfield to Colorado, getting the ball into the hands of his playmakers like Travis Hunter. And I think that's what Casey Concepcion would bring to the Cleveland Browns. A guy that isn't going to be a possession demon or anything like that, but he can make plays on special teams and make your big plays for this team to stretch the field a little bit and make the defense think a little bit as well. So gotta be all offense for Cleveland here.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I'm glad you brought up Bond because I want to talk about that because I feel like this is kind of redundant right then. Isn't. Isn't Bond's job to kind of stretch a little bit with that speed and do that and to take him and Conception on the same roster?
Scott Bogman
Sure, but he couldn't do it. So I think Casey Concepcion can do it. Like, I just think he's.
Derek Brown
I think Concepcion's way better.
Scott Bogman
I think he's a much better prospect than Bond. That's a Texas versus Texas A and M guy, by the way. I'm making that.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
I know for Bodman to say this, it's. It's painting him in inside. I understand that we had to bake because he's one of the guys on Twitch that deeper. And I just broke down too. I'm concerned about the size a little bit. I know he fights for the football. I know he's got a high motor. Like, I love all this stuff about him. He's a fun kid. He's very exciting. He plays hard. I worry about the size and him winning at the NFL level. Do you have that concern?
Scott Bogman
I mean, sure, he's not without faults, but he's also young, he's not done yet, and he has the attitude you want for it. Guy that's smaller. So once he gets a little bit better with his hands and finding separation in his routes, I think he's going to be very explosive. So I would hate this pick for the Browns. I hope they make a terrible one.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Well, who knows? Maybe it'll end up being terrible. After all, it is the Browns. All right, this show is brought to you by Hard Rock Bet Florida Sportsbook. And I know it's tough with no football. Derek Brown
So everybody keeps mocking D line to Chicago. I'm not saying that's necessarily wrong, but you're looking at a roster that is has impending free agents of Kevin Byard, Jaquan Brisker and Chauncey Gardner Johnson, as well as their salary cap situation. They are 10 milli over the cap right now. They're not going to be able to bring back all of those safeties. Let's give them a safety. Emmanuel McNeil Warren. Nine pass breakups over the last two years. This guy can create turnovers and he's a menace on defense.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, so there you go. The Chicago Bears are done, which brings up the Buffalo bills at 26. Oh, Pat, I'm excited about this one. I like it. Let's go. Very excited. This is one of my dudes, Joe.
Pat Fitzmorris
If the board falls like this and Bill's general manager, Brandon Bean does not take Denzel Boston, the receiver from the University of Washington. Bill's fans are going to storm team headquarters.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
The torches.
Pat Fitzmorris
There's no question about it. Like, the Bills are making this pick in like 10 seconds. They desperately need a playmaker, a wide receiver. Boston is 6 4, 209 pounds. A true X receiver, a good and contested catch situations. He's. He's going to be dangerous in the red zone and the green zone. Sneaky speed for a bigger guy. Denzel Boston gives Josh Allen the pass catching help he so desperately needs.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
He gave me Puka Nakua vibes, man. Like they moving them around a lot of Washington you have, you know, he. We were just pointing out to the quarterback play was subpar sometimes and he makes a quarterback look good. He comes back and catches balls that he has no business catching. He's. He's able to make adjustments on the fly. We were breaking down the tape. I really like him. You compared him Debro to Cortland Sutton. I went with Puka because I just. I think the style of play is like right there. If he ends up with Josh Allen through the roof, baby. I love this pick. Pat, you just made my day.
Pat Fitzmorris
You were. You were talking about. Well, we mentioned that we had Steve Mensch on. On our first mock draft show. I was listening to McShane mention it sounds like those guys think Boston is like, I know there's kind of a Big three with Carnell, Tate, Ma and Jordan Tyson. It sounds like those guys think it's more of a big four with Boston in that group too.
Scott Bogman
And I agree he's in volunteer if he's not in that tier with those three guys.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
And look, people forget Puka was not in that first. Like he wasn't the number one guy coming, right? He was injury prone a couple, but even so, like there were a lot of people were taking different shots at him different times. 27. San Francisco 49ers, Scott Bogman, you're up.
Scott Bogman
Another pretty easy one in my opinion. This is Kaden McDonald, the interior defensive lineman from Ohio State. I mean, how long has it been since we've had a Buckeye go here, you know, so I had to get one in here. But this is the best player on the board in my opinion. He's one of the best interior run defenders, if not the best in this draft. The Niners were exposed last year by the Seahawks. 175 yards on the ground they gave up in that wild card loss. 180 in the week 17 loss. And I mean, just look at these interior defenders grades. I know not everyone loves PFF, but these grades are disgusting. CJ West, 124 of 127. Freddie Collins, my boy from Texas, not a good rookie season. Same grade as C.J. west. So the same result. 124 out of 127. Jordan Elliott, 110. K. Davis, 122. It is awful on the interior for San Francisco. So if Kaden McDonald were to make it to them at 27, they would run that card up real, real fast.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, Debro, that puts the Houston Texans up next at 28. And I think it's gotta be offensive line, right?
Derek Brown
Yep, I agree with you. Caleb Lomo, come on down. Offensive tackle out of Utah. I mean, Texans cycled through a billion combinations of offensive line and moving guys around trying to find something that worked. News flash, nothing worked. So outside of like some promise from Ariante Ursary down the stretch last year, so giving an offensive lineman to this team just makes so much sense.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Okay, so offensive line to the Houston Texans. No shock there. How about the Rams, Pat? Would they go the offensive line as well?
Pat Fitzmorris
Yeah, they. They are going to have to go that way. And Debro set this up with his first pick where the Rams could probably go either cornerback or offensive line. And I'm sure they're probably also at least entertaining the possibility of taking Ty Simpson here with, you know, maybe only one more year left. For Matthew Stafford. But the Rams really need to find a replacement for Rob Havenstein, who came out of the University of Wisconsin's offensive line factory, gave the Rams 11 good years and just announced his retirement. And by the way, the Rams were still in St. Louis for haven Steen's rookie year. That's how far back he goes with this team. So the Rams need a right tackle. Monroe Freeling was a second team all SEC right tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs last season. He's a big, athletic dude who only gave up two sacks last year. Plug and play replacement for Haven.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Okay, so there you have him. Two offensive tackles back to back. That brings up the Denver Broncos at 30. Scott Bogman, back to you.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, enough of these damn Aggies. Denver, Anthony Hill, linebacker, Texas. Let's go. Look, they need. They could use a weapon as well. I could easily see them trading up to try to get Denzel Boston if he does slip into, you know, the mid-20s, early 20s, somewhere around there. But Alex Singleton is the biggest UFA they have. Anthony Hill is a rangy linebacker. He's always near the ball, is explosive in the blitz, has long arms to knock down running backs and pass pro and the ball, you know, jumping at the line. And he's a drop and drive wrap up tackler. When he does it right, he does have a little inconsistency there, but most of the time he's dropping drive and drops a guy right where they stand. So really like Anthony Hill's speed and he's just always near the ball. So I think he would fit the Denver defense that was already great perfectly.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right. Two more picks remain. New England Patriots dbro, what do you have for my Pats?
Derek Brown
I hope you're happy with this, Joey. I'm going to give them edge. Akeem Mezador, look, I mean, look for all the great things that the Pats did this last season. They were ninth, had the ninth lowest pressure rate. Cleveland Chase on is an unrestricted free agent. They need to add to that D line. Mezador last year, fourth and sacks amongst edges, third in hurries. Feels a need.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Do you think they sign a left tackle in free agency?
Derek Brown
I don't. I still. I think Will Campbell's getting way too much hate right now. People are kind of crazy with all this kind of stuff. Keep them a tackle for next year.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
All right, let's go to Seattle, last 32, but first because they are the champs. Pat, close it out for us.
Pat Fitzmorris
Yeah, I think there's about an 80% chance the Seahawks trade this pick GM John Schneider often trades down in the first round. It's kind of rare when he didn't last year to take Gray Zabel. And there are always teams looking to move back into the end of the first round. So the Seahawks could use cornerback help. They could maybe use another offensive lineman. They can move down and get what they want. But since we're forcing Seattle to make this pick, they are going to take a cornerback. It's Chris Johnson of San Diego State. I think Johnson probably ends up going in the second round, and he may well go behind either Brandon CC of South Carolina or Colton Hood of Tennessee, who are both still on the board at this point. But CSE and Hood are man coverage specialists. Seahawks play a lot of zone, and Chris Johnson thrives in zone. He allowed a passer rating of 16.1 on throws into his coverage last season with no touchdowns and four interceptions. He is a zone ace and he'd be a really good fit for the Seahawks.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Great. One of the best defenses in the league just got better. Terrific. Fantastic. All right, great job, gentlemen. Again, make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel and the podcast feed. Feed. We got a lot of fun content on there right now. Gentlemen. Great work as always. This is the second shot. I don't know if we have another one before the free agency. I want to say we don't. So maybe free agency might change the way we look at some of these teams and some of the pictures they
Scott Bogman
have to make real real after free agents. Now they're not fun. Now you're looking for accuracy.
Joey P. (Joe P. Zepia)
Yeah. All right, so this was the last fun. Thanks. So hope everybody had some fun with us. That'll do for us. But the story the game goes on. For Pat and Debra and Bogman, I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time, kids.
