Welcome into the Fantasy Pros Football podcast. I'm Ryan Wormley, joined today by Pat Fitzmaurice, Scott Bogman, and by a special guest, Scott Pianowski from Yahoo Sports. We are doing a mock draft and guys, I'm very excited. We have done so many rookie mock drafts and Dynasty startup mocks in the last few months that this is my first real foray into redraft mock season. It'll be, I'm sure dominating the next few months here at Fantasy Pros and everywhere else, but I'm excited to kind of have my first foray into it for the 2026 season. I'm sure I'm going to make a lot of mistakes that I will hear about from both you guys and the audience and I can't wait to to learn what I should be doing differently here throughout the season. I've got the first pick. I believe we're spread out through the draft. Scott I think is the fourth pick. I think Fitz 10th and Bogman maybe 12th if I'm remembering correctly. So we'll dive in and have some fun, see how we do drafting here. Scott, I did want to ask before we dive in just kind of, kind of with you guys at Yahoo and just you individually, three months out from really the heart of fantasy draft season, where do you feel like you're at in your kind of preparation process right now? Is it still very. Just like research and preparing as much as you can. Do you feel confident going into a mock draft this early? Where are you kind of at in that stage?
C
It's certainly early in the process for me. I mean, I'm doing a lot of baseball too at Yahoo. So I am not somebody who's doing a fantasy draft before the NFL draft. For me, the, the new fantasy season kind of starts at the NFL draft and then moves. So, so excited to be with you guys today to get the reps in. Right? This is what mock drafts are. They're reps. It's the driving range. It's let me, you know, change my grip, let me change my takeaway. Let me see. What if I try this strategy? What If I try that strategy, you know, what positions look deep, what positions are more shallow, where are the pockets of talent clustered, stuff like that. So I'm looking to get reps in. I don't feel anywhere near my. My peak sharpness. You know, I know it's the PGA Championship this week. We're supposed to be sharp for the majors, but in the fantasy season, you know, this is one of those forgettable tournaments that, you know, we're at the Bob Hope Desert Classic or something right now. You know, it's not important to peak right now. It's important to be ready to peak when, you know, we're drafting Fishbowl, we're drafting at the Fantasy Football Expo, stuff like that. That's when we really want to be in our top form.
A
Yeah, I'm sure. I'm not a golf guy. I'm sure that metaphor landed a lot better with Fitz. You guys are talking a bit about some of this stuff before the show. Fitz, it does feel like it gets earlier and earlier every year that you kind of like. I've seen a lot of content just on social media, you know, early rankings and some. Some really informative and insightful shows and content from other sites as well that are doing a great job. But it feels like there was a time where, you know, May and June, you could kind of sit back and relax when you were doing this professionally. It almost feels like that window is shrinking rapidly and you have to be ready sooner, sooner than ever.
D
We are getting the reps, and, you know, I sometimes get the shanks at the driving range, so I hope that doesn't happen today. But, like, we're not totally getting our game face on yet, but there are some positions I'm already taking on certain players. Maybe we'll see some of that today. But I'm. I'm interested to hear other smart people talk about the picks they're making and explain why.
A
Bogman, I'll give you the chance to weigh in as well, and then we'll get going here with the draft. I've obviously talked to you so much about Dynasty over the last few months. Where's your head at on Redraft right now?
E
Yeah, I mean, look, I just finished making my rankings for this year, so it's really good to see the early look at the market. That's really what we want here is what are guys costing? Where are they going? Who do we think is going to be, you know, a little too high and a little too low in the process and just really take a look at what everybody is doing right now and how rankings are breaking down to know where the values come in. So this is one of my favorite of the year because we get so much from it. So I'm excited to do this mock.
A
All right, going to go ahead and resume the draft here. While we wait for that countdown, I want to let everybody know that today's live PPR mock draft is done using our mock draft lobby over@fantasypros.com DraftWizard. Just like you'll see today, our multi user drafts allow you to practice quick and fun mock drafts against both real and computer opponents using the same easy to use interface as our draft simulator. Public mock drafts aren't yet available but you can try our Draft simulator for a lightning fast realistic mock draft experience based on your league settings. Sync your league for free and try the Draft simulator today@fantasypros.com simulator or on the Fantasy Pros app. Also, just a reminder that all of our 2026 consensus rankings and tiers can be found at fantasypros.com rankings. I timed that perfectly. I am on the clock here at number one. The fact that it's a three receiver league does make me consider taking a guy like Jamar Chase, but I just love the top two running backs so much. So if I have an early pick I would just want to get one of them and be very happy with it. I will take Bijan Robinson, new play caller in Atlanta. A play caller I believe in. You know, questions remain about the quarterback situation still, but he's just too talented of a player to pass up for me if I'm picking number one. Chase and Nakua go off the board at two and three which sends us to Scott with the 104.
C
Yeah, well you guys have been really kind to me knowing I'm from the Detroit area. Jameer Gibbs, Aman Ross, St. Brown are both available. I'm going to take Gibbs. Last year the Patriots sailed to the super bowl on a really easy schedule and we've seen Warren Sharp talks about strength. The schedule should be evaluated by what are the win totals of all your opponents. Detroit has the easiest schedule on paper this year. Even if Jameer Gibbs had a hard schedule, I'd have no problem taking taking him here. But I think at four he's a great option. Happy to snap him up and get that anchor. Right now I'm set up to do a lot of different strategies, maybe a hero RB build, but I really like that one guy to hitch my wagon to. So let's take Gibbs at 4 Gibbs
A
goes off the board here. Now, Scott, before he sent it over to Fitz for his pick, would you have taken one of those running backs at 101 or if it's a three receiver league, 12 teams, would you consider Chase?
C
Oh, Chase for sure I would consider. I mean Cincinnati, right? The carnival setup, the really good passing game, the leaky defense, the elite quarterback. I mean Cincinnati has all the pieces in place. I think they're going to play that pinball style again so long as Burrow can stay upright. I mean Chase is easily, I think Chase is easily the number one receiver and somebody I think you could consider anywhere in the draft. So yeah, if Chase is available, that's a, that's a 59 second pick for me.
A
A few more receivers go off the board after Scott JSN, Amara St Brown, Justin Jefferson, I'll go unsurprisingly. Then Christian McCaffrey and then James Cook which brings Fitz up at 1:10. Where'd you go here?
D
I went with Ashton Genty and this was a close call for me between Genti and Lamb who went with the next pick to number 11. But I'm kind of bullish on Genti. This guy, despite everything just being a complete dumpster fire around him last season still scored double digit touchdowns. And like at one point last season, Ashton Gentees average yards gain before contact was negative, he was getting hit on the backfield on average they have gone out and improved the offensive line. They brought in Tyler Linderbaum, they've got a very run friendly coach and play caller now. And Clint Kubiak who did wonders for the Seattle running game last year. They drafted Fernando Mendoza. The overall offense is just going to be better and I think we're going to see why Ashton Genti was such a coveted draft pick last year. I think the setup is so much better.
C
I got to ask you something Fitz. I am shocked you took Genti over Jonathan Taylor. I know you're a Wisconsin guy, Taylor with a much better setup. We assume Daniel Jones is healthy and maybe you're not willing to make that assumption but to me Taylor over Genti is a call I'm going to make. Can you explain why you didn't take Taylor there?
D
I'm terrified that after Jones got hurt last year Taylor averaged like 3 yards per carry and before that it was like 5.7 yards per carry. And I know Jones is expected to be back but in Achilles, like is he going to be the same Daniel Jones and is he going to have the same sort of ability to keep defenses honest from stacking the box, Are
C
you saying it might be Achilles last stand? Is that what I'm hearing from you?
A
Exactly fits back on the clock here at the 203 bog. When you made back to back picks here at the end of the first round, you split one running back, one receiver. Was that your plan going in?
E
It was, yeah. And it was nice. I assume like Scott did that Fitzy was going to take his guy, Jonathan Taylor, but he knows I love him so I'm just assuming that was a gift drafted pick for me. So appreciate that Fitzy and I got JT and then yes, Drake London was still the number one wide receiver on my board. Malik Neighbors, tough call between those two. I just. I'll take the guy not coming off a major injury. So give me Drake London in that second pick.
A
By the way, I should have said this at the top. This is a one quarterback league. Two running backs, three receivers, one tight end, one flex and then some bench spots. We are not drafting kickers and defenses. The guys already know that. Just for the listeners to know these settings as well. Fitz, you do go neighbors here and then a whole bunch of other receivers go off the board. Six in a row here, including neighbors. Why was Neighbors the choice for you among that group of six options?
D
I'm a little bit nervous about it. I'm not going to lie. I don't love the fact that the news has not been great about Neighbors recovery and maybe he's not ready for the start of week one, but I do think he is going to be just a target magnet whenever he is ready to come back and play. You know, the Giants drafted Malachi Fields. I don't think he's going to be a real existential threat to the target load from a league neighbors. He, he's just such a good player and I think Dart's going to lean on him heavily. Like I think there's a teardrop between him and like Nico Collins and some of these other guys. So I'll take the chance on the injury risk and stay in that upper
A
tier so all those receivers go off the board. Scott, you double down at running back with your first two picks. Would you have taken one of that group of receivers that all went right before you or did you want a running back?
C
I would have preferred to take a receiver. The problem is every receiver I looked at that was still available felt like a wide receiver who belongs in the third round. So I'm going to go with Chase Brown again. That Bengals offense I'm excited about, they don't have any real competition for him, but I would rather have a running back wide receiver start that wasn't ideal for me. And also with neighbors, you know, one of the neighbors, one of the strongest tracks fits from the Tattoo you album, the last great Rolling Stones album. I just wanted to point that out.
A
After Brown goes off the board, Trey McBride comes off the board and then A.J. brown and then I'm on the clock. I want to take bowers ahead of McBride anyway this year. Late second, I'm, I'm thrilled to get Bowers. I think he could break fantasy this year with a better offense and a healthier season. I mean I kind of felt this way last year and it didn't quite happen. I'm totally fine going back to that well and ranking him ahead of McBride this year. I mean so much of McBride was just. It felt like such a unique scenario at the end of the season with Jacoby Brissette and everything. Not that it'll be a different quarterback situation this year, but I would rather bet on McBride or excuse me, I would rather bet on Bowers.
D
Part of me wanted to draft Bowers at 2:03 But I couldn't. I couldn't start with two Raiders. I just couldn't do that. And the other, the other thing like McBride. Do do we think that after leading the league in pass attempts last season the Cardinals are going to be that pass heavy when they just took Jeremiah Love with the number three draft pick? Yeah, I don't think so.
A
So I take Bowers here and then and then at 301 I'm taking o', Marian, Hampton. I just really want to be buying into the Chargers offense this year. I want to be buying into the Chargers run game this year with Mike McDaniel there. I'm also believer in Justin Herbert in the passing game but like really just I want as many pieces of LA as I can get this season and I a little uncomfortable not taking a receiver of my first three picks in a three receiver league. But I'm just so thrilled to have the running back duo of Bijan and Hampton and the guy who I think is is a great tight end who will almost serve as a wide receiver one for me in terms of scoring I expect. So I'm really, even though I'm uncomfortable with the lack of receivers, the value of Bijan, Bowers and Hampton, I'm pretty over the moon about here picking number one. Saquon goes off the board next, then Jalen Waddle, then Scott. You take the other guy. I was considering if I was going to go receiver in Ted Roa. McMillan.
C
Yeah, Ted McMillan. You know, I always feel like the third round is when you have to start picking players and ignoring the flags or the fleas. In the case of McMillan a great player. But Bryce Young is not a great player. Bryce Young is not going to get any taller. And Dave Canales has to scheme around what Bryce Young can't do. But Ted McMillan could also be 150 target player. I like that he was really good in the NFL as a rookie, which is not something that I assume. So fine to take him. T. Higgins didn't make sense for me because I already have Chase Brown. I don't want to have those opposing forces even on an offense that could be a carnival offense. So McMillan is a third round pick. I'm comfortable with.
A
A couple of the quarterbacks start to go off the board here. Again, it is a one quarterback league. I'm always curious to see where that tier one of guys goes in a league like this. I think you tend to see them go earlier maybe in more of like the home leagues, you know, more, more casual leagues. I feel like the kind of more expert industry leagues is where you tend to see them fall a bit more in this draft. Obviously the auto picks go with Allen at 305, Lamar at 309 and Drake May at 3:11. Fitz, what do you think about quarterback kind of in this third round range if you're taking one of the elite guys?
D
I would maybe take Josh Allen late in the third round, but it's not my favorite thing to do. There's so much value if you wait on quarterback. The guys who are low end quarterback ones, high end quarterback twos this year like Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Bo Nix, Jordan Love, like that's just, that's pretty high quality if you wait at quarterback. So that is my preference. I'd rather go elite tight end this year and just wait at quarterback.
A
You do go with the running back here with your third round pick and then circling back on your fourth, you do take one of those tight ends. So what was your thought process on Walker as the second running back off the board for you. And then Loveland at tight end.
D
This is very out of character. Rarely in a league where I have to start three wide receivers do I not come out of the first three or four rounds with more than one receiver. I just, I thought there was much better value on the board at running back than there was a wide receiver in the third round. So I took Kenneth Walker who just clearly I know Walker has not really been a workhorse, even though he played one in the playoffs last year after the Zach Charbonnet injury. But I do think the Chiefs are getting serious about wanting to run the ball this year and I just, I trust that the setup is going to be a little better for running backs this year. They haven't had a dynamic running back. I mean, they've had the least explosive backfield in the league for a while now. I think they're going to capitalize on what they have with Kenneth Walker. And then I took Colston Loveland. I just, I think he's number three. And I actually think Loveland is closer to Trey McBride than McBride is to Bowers, if that makes sense. I mean, Loveland just turned into an absolute monster down the stretch last season. Now the Bears have pruned their target tree by getting rid of DJ Moore and I still think the Bears defense is going to be pretty sketchy this year. So that's a team that could be in a lot of shootout affairs. I think Loveland is primed for a monster year. This guy's pretty special. Wouldn't shock me if he had a thousand yard season.
A
Bogman at your turn. You double down on receivers. So you start your draft running back and then three straight receivers. Obviously it is a three receiver starting lineup here in this league setting. You go with Devonte Smith and Zay Flowers. Were you happy to get those two?
E
I was. I mean Zay, you know, last year, seventh in PPR points. So I think a good value there. And Devonte Smith is looking at more targets with A.J. brown potentially gone. I still think we're all assuming he's gone come June 1st. So I think there's going to be extra targets for Devonte Smith in the future here as well. So I just wanted to shore this up and since it's a mock, I kind of wanted to take this calculated risk being at the end and see what running backs would come back to me at the end of the fourth. May completely blow up in my face and I hate this draft. Can't. Can definitely happen. But I figured since it's a mock, it's the first one of the year. Let's go ahead and give it a shot and see what running backs we have at the end of the the. Or, excuse me, the fifth. I guess I would.
A
Handful of running backs have gone off the board since your pick. Scott, you took a Mecha Ibuka with your last pick, which is who I wanted to take at the end of the fourth, early fifth. So I Was disappointed by that. And then you're back on the clock here in the fifth.
C
Yeah. You know, I always tell myself when I draft, get younger, get younger, get younger. And at that pick, you know, Devonte Adams is there and Terry McLaurin is there and you know, those are older players, you know, mid-30s for Adams. McLaurin is in his 30s now and had a really lost season last year. So I'm going to take the player on the, you know, still on the escalator. You know, second year Mike Evans gone, you would think he'd be the target hog in Tampa Bay. So just an idea to try to take players who are still on the front nine and not think of the guys on the back nine.
A
That does feel like a shot at me because my two picks back to back were Devonte Adams and Derrick Henry. So kind of the opposite approach here in this round.
C
What a value on Henry, though. How can you say?
E
I just am where I took flowers.
A
It made me regret taking Hampton a little bit because, oh, I could have gotten Henry here. I mean, that's just part of drafting, but the value, like even having two running backs already, I could not pass up Henry. Like maybe lost a half a step, but like still very excellent. We expect to be a high scoring offense. He's, they don't like to run with Lamar at the goal line. He's going to get those rushing touchdowns fifth round. Like I just absolutely could not pass that up. of picks going off the board here while I was doing that read. We'll circle back to Scott in a second. These guys at the end here. Fitz, you take Jameson Williams and Christian Watson with your two picks doubling down on wide receiver to fill out that starting lineup.
D
I want to get Scott's take real quick on Jameson Williams, but after his first thousand yard season in 2024, he follows it up with an 1100 yard season. A big play waiting to happen. I just feel like there's a very lean and attractive target tree in Detroit. Scott mentioned the early schedule, easy schedule Detroit is going to be facing this year. And then Christian Watson, I mean Worm, you and Bogman know how much I like this guy. Based on doing the dynasty show together. 11.7 yards per target, I believe it was last year and like 2.28 yards per route run. He's fantastic. He's huge. He's fast. I am starting to establish a theme of maybe wide receivers with not the greatest track records of durability here with Malik neighbors, Jameson Williams, Christian Watson, but as Ricky Bobby said, if you're not first, you're last. And I'm, I'm banking on healthy seasons for these guys. Oh, by the way, the Arnsberg target thing, I think Jameson Williams was at 11 the last two years. So he's been very efficient and very effective the last couple of years. What do you think about that, Scott?
C
The thing with Williams is you have to live with. He's going to be at a position that's Boomer Bus. He's especially. Boomer Bus is going to have games. They're going to have games where he only has a couple of targets. They're going to have games where he gets a personal foul call, he may get ejected, he may get in the doghouse with the Lions. He's just a, a little bit of a volatile player and I do think Isaac Tesla is going to be more of a factor this year and a healthy Laporta could also chew into Williams's targets. Obviously they run different routes, they play different positions. But as long as you can live with the fact that Williams is going to have a more extreme distribution of his fantasy production, I mean you're getting an indoor offense, you're getting the easy schedule. Detroit is going to be a top five scoring team this year. So I'm fine with it. You just have to be patient for how the stats make roll out with him.
A
While Scott is on the clock here, I want to throw it to the other Scott Bogman. You took to the two running backs that you were aiming to get with those last two picks. You were saying you were going to see kind of who falls to you. How do you feel about Judkins and Montgomery being the two names.
E
I feel pretty good. I think that Montgomery is going to obviously be the lead back in Houston. That's why they traded for him. And we heard all year last year that they still viewed Woody Marks as kind of a third down back only. So I think Montgomery is going to get the full run and I had to. I had my choice because I went with Quintean first. I could have taken Cam Scatterboo there as well, but I don't want two guys coming off major injuries to be my second back. So that's why I went. I did double tap is Judkins and then just in case there's anything weird with Judkins going into the year, let's go with Dave Montgomery pretty quick to back him up. So that was my my strategy. I think I'm looking good for the guy. I want next year too. So I'm pretty happy about these picks.
A
My last two picks, Brian Thomas Jr. And Ricky Pearsall. Not my favorite wide receiver do. I mean I do like the upside with Piersol. Obviously we've talked a lot about Thomas, you know, this off season and just kind of the frustrations with his role in Jacksonville and what that's going to look like. I just really didn't like a lot of the other options. That's the sacrifice you make taking three running backs early in a league with these settings. I was hoping like one of Marvin Harrison Jr. Christian Watson, DJ Moore, Carnell Tate, Roma dudes. They were some of the names I was looking at. Of course none of them got to me. Not that I expected them all to, but you can hope so. Those are my last two picks. Scott, we skipped a couple of your picks here. Roma, Dunes A was. He did go to you. I did consider him. If Derek Henry hadn't been there, I probably would have taken him. Chuba Hubbard and then Kyle Pitts, you take the tight end off the board. How are you feeling about your last few picks?
C
Yeah, yeah. Three different buckets with these guys. You know, Pitts was really good at the end of last season. New coordinator in Atlanta. I do think that target tree will be kind of narrow, but we know there's no floor with him. I just couldn't take Harold Fannin with the quarterbacks he's playing with in Cleveland. Chuba Hubbard is one of my Banya's All Stars. The boring veteran. Yeah, I don't love having two Carolina players, but he's going to get volume. I think the backups behind him are not as much of a threat to him as maybe it's perceived and he's going to be a better fantasy player than real life player. But hey, this is a fantasy football draft. Happy to steer into that. I think he's a perfect round six pick with the Dunes. He was having a breakout season last year, then he got hurt. I mean the idea that Bird is much better than him, I don't, I don't accept it. I think they both have interesting upsides. I think they should be drafted right on top of one another, but they're not. So I'm happy to take a slight value on a Dunes. They thinking his upside is just as high as Burns might be.
A
Yeah, we talked about a Dunes on the Dynasty show, you know, earlier this week. I, I just. He's one of my favorite guys to try and go after in trades right now in Dynasty leagues. If I can get any kind of discount based on the end of last season, I think he's closer to that first month breakout than he is to what we saw when he was injured and kind of, you know, and there was more targets, you know, to split up at that point. Now with D.J. morgan, I, I think we could see a huge breakout from a Duzia this year. I'm a huge believer. Fitz, you take a bear yourself here with DeAndre Swift with your last pick and then you dip into the third of these rookie receivers to go off the board.
D
I was actually torn between two bears with that DeAndre Swift pick. The thought of pairing Caleb Williams with Colston Loveland was sort of intriguing to me and as I mentioned before, I think the Bears could be in a lot of shootouts this year with their front seven. Maybe not looking so good on defense, but to me there was kind of a drop off after DeAndre Swift to the next group of running backs. I mean, BAE Shaltin is interesting, but I'm worried that he could kind of get squeezed with Chris Rodriguez getting, getting a lot of the early done work and La Quint Allen being more the main third down back. So I went with Swift. I feel pretty good about my top three running backs. It's funny, I just, I'm actually doing a real redraft league draft right now and I went 0 RB in that one. My first running back was Kyle Manangai and I've got Swift ranked ahead of Minangai and Swift is my third running back here. Manangai is my first running back in that league. So I feel pretty good about the running backs I have. Might have to play catch up a Little bit at wide receiver but take care of that with the next.
C
I bet you the Jacksonville backfield remember Chris Rodriguez, Liam Cohen were together at Kentucky. So I mean it doesn't mean that Rodriguez has to come in and take over, but at least there's some reason why they went after Rodriguez. That should make you a little bit nervous if you're a Tootin guy.
D
Oh for sure. He had a 1300 yard rushing season at Kentucky the year Liam Cohen was the offensive coordinator there. So that is a concern no doubt.
A
Bogman, you heard Scott mentioned maybe being a little scared off of Fannin with the quarterback situation, at least compared to Pitts. You do take Fannin here at the end of the seventh.
E
Yeah, I mean he was a rookie last year and I think he scored 30 fewer points than Pitts and Pitts was a tight end two and Fannin was tight end six. So I'm actually more worried about the extra targets coming in in Cleveland than I am the bad quarterback play because he finished pretty high with bad quarterback play as a rookie last season. So I'm more worried about, you know, Concepcion and Boston coming in than I am the bad QB play because I, I do. I think Shador gets that job for most of the year and I think Shador is probably an NFL caliber starter but I know a lot of people
A
don't agree with me. We're in round nine here. Just catching up with some previous picks. A lot of tight ends going off the board here now from the computer. Interestingly, all four of us drafted our tight end within the first seven tight ends off the board and all within the first seven rounds. So we all kind of wanted to play in that area of the rankings at that position. My last couple picks, you know. Fitz, you did mention Caleb. I did take Caleb. I was hoping maybe Herbert would get back to me. Like I said, I just really want to invest in that offense a lot. But I'm happy to take Caleb Williams. I mean he was a top five quarterback finisher last year, up and down, you know, game to game. But year two in Ben Johnson's offense, you know, again I expect to step forward from a dunesday and, and from burden too. So I'm very happy to get Caleb with the late, you know, picking the late eighth round and then I take Quentin Johnson just because I want, like I keep saying, I want to have as many of these chargers as I can and I didn't love a whole lot of the other options. So when in doubt, take the offense that I just really want to have as many, as many pieces of as I can. Scott, your last couple picks, you take Jordan Addison and then Blake Corum kind of dipping into that backup running back position.
C
I think Blake Corum, I got him as my fourth running back. I think he could be a running back three in a lot of leagues where he gets double digit touches, has some touchdown equity and man, if Kyron Williams were ever to get hurt. Here we go, we have somebody Who's a top 12 running back right away. And I also want to echo, you know, Addison's just a matter of that offense has to be better if J.J. mcCarthy's not playing. And I, I've never really been a Kyler Murray guy but the moment he touched down in Minnesota I joke that I would follow their coach into a burning building. But last year the building burned down. You know, I think Kyler Murray is going to actually have a comeback season and, and I'm willing to, to take Addison as a support receiver. He's my fourth guy. I also agree with you on the Chargers, Mike McDaniel. You know, it didn't make sense for me to take lad McConkey. I think he's an unbelievably great value for you. Get him in the fourth round and I'll consider him in the middle to late third round which I think is where he fell here. He's another guy in that Charger offense who I'm really excited to draft and, and all the food chain points to Justin Herbert. I think he's going to be a really good value for somebody too.
D
You're back on the clock by the way.
A
Got it Fitz, you. So I took a quarterback with my last pick. You took a quarterback with the last pick and Bogman took a quarterback with last pick at least the second last pick. So why was Dart the choice for you? Fitz here in late round nine.
D
Kind of makes sense since I've got Malik neighbors to get a little stack cooking there. We saw darts pretty much hamstrung with a lack of pass catchers last season still perform really well. Much better than I expected. I had my doubts about what kind of prospect he was going to be. You know, I don't think he's on Joe Burrow's level as a passer exactly. But boy does that guy make play with his legs. Might put his health at risk. He's a little reckless with his running. He's got a little, maybe even more Jaden Daniels in him than Jaden Daniels has. Like he is a kind of a crash test dummy out there. But hopefully he can run a little more judiciously while still giving us those rushing points that we crave. And I think there he showed more as a passer in his rookie year than I was expecting. So I'm pretty bullish.
A
And then Scott, you took Dak Prescott with your quarterback here.
E
Yeah, I was pissed that Fitz, he took Jackson Dart. I had, I had this plan of Higgins and Dart and Fitzy ruined it. But you know, Dak is a good consolation prize and I just wanted to get a top 12 quarterback and I think he's still going to be that still has Lamb and picking, so should still be a nice high flying offense there. And Higgins, I just like the upside here, specifically in a PPR league, you know, we know the guys around him. Nico Collins has gotten hurt a lot. I think C.J. stroud is going to play a little bit better. I like this Texans offense this year, so I'm not sad to be invested in two spots in it.
A
And then Scott, you take your first quarterback as well. Here in Brock Purdy in round 10,
C
you just stay healthy. Brock Purdy, Kyle Shanahan offense, all sorts of receivers and pass catchers that we like. Prescott was actually the guy I was targeting who didn't get to me. But Purdy, I think Purdy is easily a top 12 quarterback if he's healthy and if there's one position where I'm willing to. I realize a lot of quarterbacks got hurt last year, but the league is all about trying to keep the quarterback healthy. And unlike other positions where they're just in harm's way getting absolutely dump truck down the field, I think we can assume most quarterbacks will play 15 or more games. So I think if you wait a quarterback, a guy like Purdy makes a lot of sense.
A
Tons of running backs coming off the board here. My last two picks were receivers. I mean that's kind of when you take three running backs early. I just want to take a lot of swings at receiver. Even if it's players that maybe I don't like quite as much as some of the running backs on the board. I consider Chris Rodriguez with my last pick. I consider Jonathan Brooks since there seems to be some, some optimism there. Consider Dylan Sampson. There were a few names I was considering at that position, but I just like I said, God takes swings at receivers, so I went with Casey Concepcion. I'm happy to kind of just blindly draft first round receivers even in very, maybe less than ideal situations. We'll say to put it kindly in Cleveland with the offense and the Quarterback. I mean I like Todd Monkin a as play caller. I like Casey Concepcion, the player so willing to take the swing. And then, you know, the Chiefs are playing on Monday night that football that seems to me to be the league saying they think Mahomes is going to be something close to ready for week one. So maybe Xavier Worthy is a reasonable bet here in round 11. Fitz, you did take Jonathan Brooks, who was a name I was looking at and are are buying into that optimism.
D
Boy, I've been surprisingly willing to click on him in like best ball leagues or whatever. I just like the price right now, especially while more in a managed league than a best ball league because I don't care if I eventually waive Jonathan Brooks, if I'm picking him in the 11th round. If it turns out to be a messy committee with the Panthers and their offense is mediocre, fine, like I can dump him for something better and it won't pain me that much getting him in the 11th round. But the potential payoff like Chuba's. Chuba's fine, he's a league average back. But I think Brooks could be better than that. Obviously a big injury risk, but I'm willing to take that risk. There's a big potential reward.
A
I'm about to make the final pick here. We'll take a few minutes to kind of recap the draft and look at our grades and kind of see how we're all feeling about the teams. Again, we're only going 12 rounds deep just because it didn't make sense to just keep drafting bench spots over and over this early in mock draft season. I'll wrap things up with Emmett Johnson, take the backup here in Kansas City, a player that I haven't gotten enough of in my rookie draft. So yeah, I want to take him here. Well, I can. We'll go ahead. Like I said, take a look at some of our analysis here. My consensus grade I'll say is a B minus. So you know, not the ideal start here grade wise. But I, I'm feeling, I feel okay about the team. Obviously the running backs are fantastic for me. I really like just getting Caleb William in the eighth round. Obviously fantastic tight end I'm excited about. It's really just those receivers and that's probably going to be. If we were to play this out, probably would be a problem for me the whole year long. I'm projected seventh here in the standings. Scott Panowski eighth, Scott Bogman fifth and Fitz third. So Fitz, the the draft simulator thinks you did the best of the four of us.
D
Yeah, the simulator normally hates me because I know it tends to like balanced rosters, and I think roster balance can be overrated in fantasy. But this did turn out to be a fairly balanced roster, and I actually paid attention to the running back position in the early rounds for a change.
A
Bogman, how are you feeling about your team?
E
I feel pretty good. I took Alvin Camara at the end, like my last pick, and Alvin Camara is the last pick I'll throw a dart on every time. So no idea if he's going to be playing with New Orleans or going somewhere else or retiring. That's the risk. But like Fitzy said, who cares at the end? You know, make your pick and see if it works. So, you know, filled out my wide receivers well, which is usually an issue for me. Usually I'm the guy going after running backs a little more often. But I do love that Fitzy hates my team. He's one of the people that hates it because I took Jonathan Taylor. What is your problem? Fitz? Come on. That's your guy. What are we doing?
A
That is. That is one of the fun things you can do. For those who are kind of new to the simulator this year, you can see which experts specifically give you a higher grade or a lower grade. For example, our colleague Derek Brown gives me a very low grade. Friend of the show. Andy Barron's also giving me a very low grade on this one. You can also check out steals and reaches individual pick analysis. Like, oh, if I took Jamar chase at the 1001 instead of bijan, then I took a running back in round seven instead of pure SOL, my score would have been 77 points higher. For example, you could check out all sorts of stuff like that. Pienowski, how are you feeling about your team?
C
Yeah, Barron's also gave me a D. So look, my former colleague at Yahoo and a dear friend of mine. But let's face it, Andy Barrons is obviously a hater. He's getting outed. As such, on this show, I get the thumbs up from Luke Renton. The franchise tag uk. So if there's like a British Invasion theme to my draft, I guess Luke picked up on it. And then Scott Pinowski of Yahoo Sports says, I have an A minus draft. 92 out of 100. Always nice to make yourself feel validated. It's funny because a lot of times you draft and you actually absolutely abuse your own rankings. You invalidate them and you realize how much you need to change them. You know, maybe it's just the. The invisible hand was Kind of steering me there. But what I could have done differently is I could have just totally punted on tight end. I mean, I took Dallas Goddard as a second tight end at the end of this draft. I could have just. He's not that much different than Kyle Pitts. Maybe I should have gotten one more field player, but I feel pretty good about my core. I mean, Getting Gibbs at 4 felt like a little bit of good fortune. And I have a lot of players in offense that I like. I also want to mention Kevin o' Connell by name. I mentioned him as Vikings HC earlier, but Kevin o' Connell is good enough to be named. I still think he's one of the three or four best offensive designers in football.
A
Yeah, you know, I've seen some people start to push back a little bit on that, Scott, this off season, just in the sense of like, hey, if he's such a quarterback Whisperer, why was JJ McCarthy so terrible this season? He's coming off, you know, a major injury and is still very young and inexperienced. Like, I'm willing to see injured all year too. Yeah, like I, I, I'm willing to
C
still buy too many hits. He had too many hits before that miss. You know, I got to give him the benefit.
A
If anybody's selling their, their Kevin O' Connell stock based on JJ McCarthy, I'm willing to buy it.
C
Also, when you talk to players, when they go to Minnes, they, they talk to McCarthy and they're like, oh my God, this is the guy I want to play for. Right. I mean, Kyler Murray sounds like he's died and gone to heaven. Going to Minnesota, granted, getting out of Arizona, anything would look like an upgrade. What a just absolute mess of an organization they are. But. And another reason why I'm afraid to draft Arizona guys, Jacoby Brissette, I like him for what he is. I can't see anything sustainable. But what he did last year, both with the volume and with the reasonable efficiency, now he's holding out. That's adorable. I think Arizona is going to be a terrible football team again. But yeah, draft, draft, Minnesota guys, I think you'll, you'll get your easily get your investment back. And there's a lot of upside with almost all of them.
A
I did a show with Andrew Erickson and Jake Seeley from the Athletic earlier this week and we talked a lot about, about Kyler. He with this obviously mock draft, we didn't go deep enough for him to get drafted. Where is he ranked for you, Scott?
C
Amongst the quarterbacks, a really high upside quarterback too.
A
Yeah, I think Jake Adam, QB14 I think the highest. Yeah, I think the highest Anywhere is about QB13 if you look on Fantasy Pros rankings. So pretty up there. Fitz, where are you at on Kyler by the way? I don't think I've asked you that.
D
QB17, you know, cautiously optimistic. I do think he's going to be an upgrade. And it's funny like to listen to people speculate about who's going to be starting for the Vikings in Week one. Like I'll, I will be flabbergasted if it's not Kyler Murray. Like there's no way J.J. mcCarthy is beating him out on the merits. It would have to be some sort of high ankle sprain in the preseason or something for Kyler to keep him from starting in Week one.
A
By the way, the team that our our site thought did the best was the team drafting sixth. Just for those who are interested, they took Amon Ross, St. Brown, Nico Collins, T. Higgins, Josh Jacobs, Kyron Williams, Jalen Hurts, Pittman Dowdle, Kelsey Dobbins, Connor and Juwan Johnson. That's the one that's projected best for us.
D
How did, how did Andy Barrons feel about that team? Because he's like the the Russian judge here. He panned me. Also he hated my he hated my Ashton Genti Malik neighbor start. I even tried to pander to Andy by drafting a couple of Bears and it didn't seem to help.
A
You know what he Andy loved this draft. He gave it a 98 out of a hundred in a plus. So team number six on the auto draft is Andy's favorite D RO. Love that draft as well.
C
Yeah, you know just coming in that Andy has petitioned to give Team 6 an FSWA award for the best mock draft of the 2026 season. So that just shows how Baron throwing his weight around. He doesn't like the actual people who show up. It's the mock that the computer simulation teams that Andy feels which raises the question has Andy Barrons just become like an AI bot? Is he somebody is Andy Barron still in Chicago writing or is somebody impersonating Andy Barrons and he's been taken over by computers.
D
And Scott, after the show you're going to have to tell me how to curry favor with Luke Renton of the of the fan franchise tag UK because Luke gave me a 54 which was 16 points lower than the next worst grade I had which you know, I guess I'm not. My Q rating with Englishman is pretty low. I don't get it.
C
Maybe he didn't like who you drafted. Maybe you have to iron some kinks out. I don't know.
D
I love the Rolling Stones. I love Oasis. I think black pudding tastes good. I don't understand what I'm doing here. Yeah, this frustrate.
C
Luke, this team is going to live forever. You're going to have your champagne supernova at the end of the season. But you know, it's funny, I didn't like Oasis in the moment. Now I actually am pro Oasis, but I, I kind of didn't like them in the late 90s. But I've gotten around to them in the second wave or third wave, whatever wave they're on now. If the Gallagher brothers can get along, so can I.
D
Exactly.
A
By the way, on that team six, I'm looking at it still. Andy loved the draft. Dalton, Del Don hated the draft. So they're going head to headshot colleagues. Yeah, yeah. And then Matt Harmon also. Also loved it too. So a lot of, a lot of Yahoo adjacent guys.
C
Matt Harmon loved your draft. That means you picked the right receivers. I don't know anybody who's working harder for receiver analysis than that guy. My colleague at Yahoo. Just, you know, I. I feel like I have to. Whenever I have receiver opinions, I have to run them by Harm and at least get his opinion. And when he disagrees with me, I go into a panic.
A
100% best in the business in there. Let's wrap up with some final thoughts just on the kind of process in general here from each of us. Bogman, I'll start with you. What are your final thoughts on your team? Kind of this early stage mock draft and how you feeling?
E
I think after seeing this draft, if this is the way it's going to go. I want your pick, Worm. I want first overall. I think that was a really good spot to be in. Like I said, I was considering taking Derek Henry with that third pick and you got him with the third pick on the back end, so. Or the fourth pick, whatever it was. I really, I look at that spot and when I think that's the best spot right now. So typically I like picking later, but this year looking at this board, I think number one is where I want to be.
A
Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good about. I almost wish that I had gone Chase rather than Bijan at the top. Top. If I had known I could get Omarion Hampton and Derrick Henry in rounds three and five and still come away with Bowers in round two. Like, I don't know if my team will have the receiving. You know strength and depth to compete if we were to play out this league. But I feel like I got so many values that I'm just going to be happily say like I'll have the best running backs, I'll have the best tight end, I'll have a quarterback I believe in and I'll figure out receiver throughout the week course of the season in a league like this and kind of hope for the best. So I'm not sure how much I would have done different outside of maybe flipping one of those running backs for a receiver knowing now what I know about Henry falling. So that's kind of feel about mine. Really excited about this team. Fitz, how you feeling about your team? Anything you would have done differently? Any other kind of final thoughts?
D
I'm feeling pretty good about it. I generally like to start with a more of a wide receiver heavy Bill, but I just kind of fell into this and I liked getting Jameson Williams, Christian Watson, Makai Lemon later on. Like what if the gap between Devonte Smith and Makai Lemon isn't that pronounced as far as their production. And this is of course assuming that A.J. brown is traded to Scott Pinofsky's New England Patriots at some point in the coming weeks. But like, I don't know. I just, I think Lemon is a really good prospect. I know Jalen Hurts hasn't really worked the middle of the field that much, but he has been good when he has, as Jake Seeley will tell everyone and illustrate with numbers. Yeah, I mean I'm not used to drafting a balanced roster, but this, this felt pretty good off the club, to be honest. And by the way, Boggs, I know Boggs like the Bijan robinson Pick number one, I think it's going to be 50, 50 as to whether people prefer Bijan and Jameer or Jameer Gibbs this year. And for Scott to get Gibbs at 104 I thought was just an incredible gift.
E
Four is a good spot too. And maybe that's the better spot, right? Like maybe that is the sweet spot there because you get, you either get Bijan Gibbs, Jamar or Puka. You could throw JSN and say number five is the best since you're going to get that, that next, that highest pick back as well. Just I think just earlier looking at this, I want to be early when I'm picking.
A
I agree with that. But I will say I feel like it's just a really strong first, like dozen or so. It is like, like the whole first like CD Lamb, 11th, you know, Christian McCaffrey obviously some years he's terrible. But the years he's not, he's insane. He went eighth. Like Jonathan Taylor obviously started off last year looking like it was going to be the Jonathan Taylor season through those first few months. Like there are a lot of names really throughout the first round that I feel like you can't go wrong. I'm going to be pretty excited with almost anybody I get in round run even. Even if those guys like Bijan, Chase and Gibbs are sort of separated at the top. But yeah, Scott, you said it right at the top you were thrilled to get Gibbs at the 104. How do you feel about the rest of the way and kind of the overall experience of an early mock draft?
C
Yeah, I feel pretty good about the team. There's. There's a really cool thing you can do. This entire interface is so great. Fantasy pros has the coolest tools and I'm looking at team strengths. Where you can look at where does my running back one slot against everybody else's. Where does it. So I have Jameer Gibbs who I think we all know is going to be either him or Robinson would be the number one pick for anybody at running back. And then I have Chase Brown who is puts me in position as the best running back too. And then you throw in Hubbard and you throw in like Corum. I'll take that running back group against anybody. Now the thing is. Well, what didn't you get? Well, I drafted. I was just step behind on receiver. But I have McMillan, Buka and a Dunes a a second year, a second year and a third year player. Receivers can easily get better at this time. It used to be not that long ago feds, we're old enough. Remember don't draft receivers until year three. You don't trust them in their rookie seasons. These guys have all hit the ground running since they joined the NFL and now they can be unchained as legitimate weapons. You know McMillan's going to get 150 targets. I think Igbuka will be the target hog in Tampa Bay. And as I said with the Dunes, I don't see why the difference between him and Burden is so stark. Because Adunse has an injury absence as an excuse I shouldn't have taken once I punted on tight end. I should have just steered into it completely because the difference between Pitts and Goddard isn't that big. And I just could have waited for Goddard and taken another field player. But I feel pretty good about this team because I think there's more variance to the wide receiver position. Based on production and kind of skill growth and career arc and that type of thing. So I took the type of young and again I avoided the older receivers that sometimes I would normally say, oh, I like Terry McLaurin, I like Devontae Adams. These are Mac and cheese afghan on the couch. This is a comfortable pair of sweats. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone a little bit and draft these younger ascending players. And I think at receiver I did that.
A
Yeah, I, I agree. I like your team quite a bit. I actually just want to quickly ask before we get out of here. I know I said we're going to wrap up on those thoughts, A.J. brown, just because we obviously are anticipating him to get traded here in the next few weeks. He went late round two. We kind of glossed over because it's right between the two tight ends and we were talking more about that at the time. But you know, as a Patriots guy and just in general like evaluating Brown, do you think like back half of round two, Scott is the right spot for him? Once we see that trade go through,
C
I'd like to see him the third round. I know he has a history with Mike Vrabel, although variables, you know, a defensive coach and a CEO coach, he's not the offensive coach. I do think Josh McDaniels is one of the best OCs in the NFL. But A.J. brown, probably a back nine guy, new team, it's going to be a late switch. I think he's more of a third round player who's maybe miscast as a second round pick.
A
All right, we'll go ahead and wrap things up on that. Thanks everybody for tuning in, checking out our mock draft here. Thank you very much to our special guest Scott Pienowski for joining us. Please go check out everything he's got going on at Yahoo. Anything specific you want to plug, Scott?
C

Please delete all this but yeah yeah Yahoo Fantasy Man.
A
Yeah, Fitz and I are locked in a battle in our work fantasy baseball league. So it's an eight team league just the way we did it this year. So we just are like dropping all stars right and left to make room for other all stars on our team. But we'll see how that.
C
Let me jump in here one more time. Okay Because I want to make this clear now. Yes, our World cup, our soccer pickup game with is open for business. Go to Yahoo Fantasy and crush the World Cup.
